- 0:16important to you is important to us.
- 0:20Let's talk. I'm your host, Magic Mike, and
- 0:23today we're diving deep into something close to my heart, how
- 0:27sharing your story and getting behind the mic can be a powerful
- 0:30form of rehabilitation. Whether you're fresh out of
- 0:33service, years into civilian life, or somewhere in between,
- 0:37We've got a space for you here because everyone has a story,
- 0:41and broadcasting is how we tell it.
- 0:45So hey, welcome everybody to Veterans Talk on Military
- 0:47Broadcast Radio. The radio station gives our
- 0:49veterans a voice. Remember, we're here for you and
- 0:51not for us giving our veterans a voice.
- 0:54So we have a packed show today. It is a little bit crazy of
- 0:57what's going on. So I'm going to break it down a
- 1:00little bit different this this show.
- 1:03Like to say hi to all of TikTok viewers out there.
- 1:06Thank you for joining us. If you have a question, please
- 1:08send it on TikTok, Facebook Live, Roku television.
- 1:12We're hoping, keeping our fingers crossed.
- 1:13We're going to come with Pluto next.
- 1:15Just a lot going on with us here in the studio.
- 1:18If you don't know, military broadcast radios, radio station
- 1:21that gives veterans a voice. They are A5 O one.
- 1:25That is just been phenomenal for me for the last couple years.
- 1:29I would say 3-4 years, five years I've been with them and it
- 1:32is, yes, it is true. I did turn down a job at a radio
- 1:36station. You're absolutely right.
- 1:38I am retired military. I just, I don't know, I do this
- 1:40for fun. It's fun, it's great.
- 1:42I did have a radio station reach out to me.
- 1:44I did interview with them. They asked me to move across the
- 1:46country and I said no thank you. I'm happy where I'm at.
- 1:49So yes, that is true. So if you're out there and
- 1:52you're listening, I apologize that I turned down your offer.
- 1:54I enjoy doing what I do here at military broadcast radio and I
- 1:58enjoy veterans talk. I think it's something that I
- 2:00need to really focus on and put time and effort and everything
- 2:03in. So before we get started, I want
- 2:06to make some comments real quick.
- 2:07I talked about the Major Richard Star act over and over and over
- 2:11in my radio show. I also talked about the Taking
- 2:14Care of Veterans Act, which to me is a little bit
- 2:18discombobulated. I had a veteran reached out to
- 2:19me. I gave him my personal cell
- 2:21phone. He reached out to me.
- 2:22We talked for a very long 2 1/2 hours and we had a great
- 2:26conversation and I said, OK, change my mind.
- 2:29And he did, he did change my mind.
- 2:31He didn't change my mind to where I stand at as far as
- 2:33taking care of veterans or the Major Richard Star Act.
- 2:36But he made me see something that's totally different that
- 2:38it's how I looked at the VA. And again, the Taking Care of
- 2:42Veterans Act, if you don't know what that is, it was a huge,
- 2:45like big beautiful bill where they clumped in the Major
- 2:48Richard Star Act, the Love Lives On Act for Gold Star spouses and
- 2:52family members and, and a bunch of other things that were in
- 2:55there. And then in little fine print,
- 2:57they said, we're going to take away tinnitus.
- 2:59We not take it away, but they're going to make it harder for
- 3:02veterans to claim tinnitus and sleep apnea.
- 3:04So you know, if you had a 50% for sleep apnea through the VA
- 3:08with their crazy math, it would now be like 5% or 10% or
- 3:12whatever, and tinnitus would be harder and so on and so forth.
- 3:15And me personally, I was like, well, I, I don't, I, I agree
- 3:18with it because tinnitus and stuff is so whatever, whatever.
- 3:21And I think that that is, I don't know, I, I think I was
- 3:26wrong for saying that. And this is, this is where I'm
- 3:28at. I'm going to break it down
- 3:30Barney's style for, for you. So if you were a combat wounded
- 3:33veteran, you get an offset right now, right?
- 3:37You're offset is A1 for one. So if you were injured in
- 3:40combat, regardless what your injury was, you are entitled to
- 3:45VA compensation, right? Just like anybody else who's a
- 3:48veteran is entitled to VA compensation.
- 3:51And the one for one offset is if you did not have 20 years in the
- 3:56military, dollar for dollar, your VA offsets your retirement.
- 4:00So let's say, let's just say you were injured in Iraq and you
- 4:04lost a limb, right? Both your legs.
- 4:06We'll just say both your legs. And Iraq did a roadside bomb and
- 4:10they forced retired you from the military.
- 4:12So now you're retired from the military, you get your ID card,
- 4:15you get your benefits, you get your medical, but you don't get
- 4:18your retirement pay because the VA offsets that dollar for
- 4:22dollar. So you get the and everybody
- 4:25takes the VA because it's, it's more money, right?
- 4:28So 100% is like $4000. It it's not exactly 4000, but
- 4:32I'm just using that As for numbers sake.
- 4:34So your $4000 is 1 for one offset your retirement.
- 4:40So if your retirement as AE3E4 in the United States Army with,
- 4:44you know, five years is $2100, that money goes away because
- 4:48offset by the VA compensation. Now let's paint another
- 4:55scenario. Let's say you do 20 years in the
- 4:57United States military, 20 good long years.
- 5:00And after your service in the United States Army, you go to
- 5:02the VA and you go, you know, all those rough marches, My back is
- 5:04starting to hurt me. You have degenerate arthritis,
- 5:06whatever be it, you now get compensation through the VA and
- 5:10you're allowed to keep your VA. I mean your military retirement.
- 5:15So if you retired at 20 years as let's just say E8, master
- 5:19Sergeant in the Army, right, or first Sergeant, whatever be it,
- 5:22and you retired, you get to keep that money, that 3004 thousand
- 5:25dollars or whatever it is, and you get to keep the other money
- 5:28you get from the VA. How is that fair to somebody who
- 5:32wanted to serve 20 years but couldn't do the 20 years because
- 5:36of their forced retirement, Right.
- 5:38So that's what the Major Richard Star Act is it, it, it, it does
- 5:41away with that offset. It's, it's called a combat
- 5:44wounded tax and it's just unfair.
- 5:47Now the big beautiful bill that I call it the Take Care of
- 5:51Veterans Act would have brought that in.
- 5:54We would have figured it out. It would have had bipartisan
- 5:56support, etcetera, etcetera. And they got the two sides of
- 6:00the aisle. They got the DAV and the VFW
- 6:02fighting the American Legion fighting this one and fighting
- 6:04that one and everything like that.
- 6:06So they said, look, there's too much craziness going on here,
- 6:09let's go ahead and do away with it.
- 6:13So they put it on a back shelf and it'll probably never come
- 6:15back up in Congress. Now Major Richard Starr Act, on
- 6:18the other hand, has all the votes to be forced into a vote
- 6:22and we'll see they they they re adjourn in November and we'll
- 6:24see. One of my great, great friends
- 6:27and and my little brother told me, he said, I guarantee you
- 6:29what they're going to do is they're going to make this a
- 6:31veteran's day thing where they push the major richer star act
- 6:35on veteran's day and make everybody look good for
- 6:37veteran's day in November. Good possibility.
- 6:39I mean, if I was a politician, right, and I was running for
- 6:41office, that would be a, that would be kind of a coin I would
- 6:44play absolutely. But again, we have to wait and
- 6:49see. Politics are crazy.
- 6:50So we'll have to wait and see. Where my mind changed was is
- 6:54that I was like, listen, if you, you know, they're talking about
- 6:57future veterans, right? So people are still in the
- 7:01military right now with people are still active duty right now.
- 7:05They have, they have their disability right, approved
- 7:10before they get out of the military now.
- 7:11So even before they leave the military with their DD214 form,
- 7:15their discharge paperwork, they are rated at 100%, whereas most
- 7:20of us had to take 10/15/20 years.
- 7:22I know people have taken even longer than that, 40 years, 50
- 7:24years, Vietnam Veterans to get their disability claim approved.
- 7:28So I was against that. I was like, that's, that's a no
- 7:30go. Like why are you, why are you,
- 7:32you know, and again, what they set out to do worked to put
- 7:36veterans against each other. And that's crazy.
- 7:39So I had somebody sit down and explain it to me this way.
- 7:41And I'm going to, I'm going to tell you how they explain how
- 7:43they changed my mind. If you borrow a toy from me,
- 7:48right? You, you borrow a toy from me
- 7:52and I let you play with that toy and then you hand me that toy
- 7:55broken back. You give it back to me.
- 7:58It's broken and it's no longer the way it was when I gave it to
- 8:02you. Do you just look at me and go
- 8:04tough luck? Or do you think I should be
- 8:07compensated with a new toy or, or maybe even money, maybe give
- 8:10me a little bit of money, right, so that I can go maybe get this
- 8:14toy fixed somehow or maybe I don't know.
- 8:17Do you think I should be compensated?
- 8:19Let me know what you think in the comments, please.
- 8:22So that's how I got that thinking about it, right?
- 8:27So a lot of people say VA disability and we need to get we
- 8:32need to get rid of that word, that word disability.
- 8:35We need, we need to say what it is.
- 8:37It's compensation, right? It's a VA compensation.
- 8:40It there you're being compensated for being broken,
- 8:43right? The military, you signed a
- 8:45contract with the military, right?
- 8:47Nobody put a gun to your head. Nobody said forced you into the
- 8:50military, right? We're not in a third world
- 8:51country where you had to join the military, right?
- 8:54You join the military on your own free will and signed a
- 8:57contract. I remember when I joined, I
- 9:00signed this contract. I mean, I signed a booklet of
- 9:03paperwork, right? A whole thing of paperwork that
- 9:06I had to sign, and it was a contract.
- 9:08And then I raised my right hand, swore on the Holy Bible and
- 9:11everything that was great and loving and everything like that,
- 9:13that I would that I would honor that contract.
- 9:19That contract never expired. Even when I left the military
- 9:24still didn't expire, right? So all the things that were
- 9:28broken, all the things that were damaged in the military, you
- 9:31don't think that a veteran should be compensated for that,
- 9:35compensated for protecting your freedom, for protecting your
- 9:38right to vote, for protecting your right to live in a free
- 9:41society, right? Listen, we're not talking about
- 9:44whether the war in Afghanistan or war in Iraq or the war in
- 9:47Djibouti or anything like that was justified.
- 9:50We're not, we're not talking about that at all.
- 9:52We're just talking about them. And half of us didn't agree with
- 9:54any of that, right? But we do what we had to do
- 9:56because we honored a contract. We need, we need the government
- 10:01to honor their contract. Their contract was, we'll take
- 10:03care of you when you come back and you're broken.
- 10:05And that's all. So I'm not going to beat it
- 10:08anymore. Where is the major Richard star
- 10:10act today? It's, it's kind of, you know,
- 10:12like I said, the the current policy is Megley retired or
- 10:16combat veterans who served fewer than 20 years currently face a
- 10:19dollar for dollar offset deduction when they receive VA
- 10:22disability compensation, their Department of Defense retirement
- 10:25pay is reduced, sometimes completely, most of the time
- 10:28completely. The fix the act of the Major
- 10:31Richard Star eliminates this offset, allowing effective
- 10:34service members to receive both full payments without one can
- 10:38send out the other. Which 20 year veterans get that
- 10:40already DIC or Gold Star spouses, they get that as well.
- 10:45So they get ADIC from the VA and they get their loved ones
- 10:48retirement impact legislation estimated at a cost that that
- 10:53estimately, the legislation is estimated to help around 54 to
- 10:5860,000 combat veterans. That's a lot.
- 11:02That is a lot. Future NBA player Randy, all you
- 11:05guys on TikTok. Thank you for joining me.
- 11:08The namesake is is in honor of major Richer star who is Army
- 11:11reservist combat engineer who served in combat and died of
- 11:15combat related cancer from toxins.
- 11:19The ACT permits veterans to choose between the combat
- 11:21related compensation, which is CRSC, which most of us get or
- 11:25DoD retirement. So CRSC is a portion, it's a
- 11:28very small portion, 600 bucks. The estimated cost over 10 years
- 11:33is about $11 billion. They said about $9 billion, but
- 11:38they kind of, you know, with inflation and coal and cost of
- 11:40living and all that, he said $11 billion over a 10 year, $11
- 11:44billion. We spent more money sending arms
- 11:51and money and over to Ukraine than that.
- 11:54So I'm kind of, you know, crazy. So there was a discharge
- 11:58petition in May of 2026. The House discharge petition led
- 12:02by Ranking Member Mark Takano and Republican Raul Ruiz
- 12:07reaching the threshold of 218 signatures, meaning to be forced
- 12:11a House floor vote. That means it will be forced to
- 12:15get a House vote. That's what we're waiting on
- 12:18right now. That's where we stand with the
- 12:19Major Richard Star Act. We shall see.
- 12:24Yeah, kind of crazy, I know. But, you know, we'll have to
- 12:27wait and see. I I I mean, it's crazy that
- 12:32we're waiting all these politics to return from their little
- 12:34vacation because they're like, we're not going to vote on it.
- 12:36Let's go to vacation. Hurry up, run out the door.
- 12:38It's kind of like a it's kind of like you running after your
- 12:41teacher on a long weekend to ask them a question, right.
- 12:45Everybody just ranch out the door.
- 12:47We're we're headed out. We don't want nothing to do with
- 12:49that. We're gone.
- 12:50We're gone. So we'll wait in November is
- 12:53when it comes back and we'll see what happens.
- 12:57So anyways, if you're joining us for the first time on TikTok or
- 13:00any other platform, veterans Talk, we're here for you on
- 13:03military broadcast radio, not for us giving our veterans a
- 13:06voice. In veterans Talk, we talk about
- 13:07things that are important to veterans.
- 13:09So the storm, the storm, the pending storm, if you're on the
- 13:13Gulf Coast, if you're in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee,
- 13:16Ohio, anywhere that that storm's path is going to take it.
- 13:21The storm in our families and our military families, current
- 13:27location and strength. I'm going to share this with you
- 13:29guys. I mean, it's, it's a Cray Cray.
- 13:31It is absolutely Cray Cray. Most of you know that I am from
- 13:36Florida, I'm from Miami, I've been through Hurricane David
- 13:38Wilma. I served in Hurricane Katrina
- 13:40aftermath. I was in a direct path of
- 13:43Hurricane Ian back in 2022. I watched that devastate my
- 13:47community and be without power for quite a few weeks.
- 13:52So I am going to show you guys the latest on hurricane.
- 13:56We had this to the stage. There she is anybody if I
- 14:02pronounce his name wrong, don't hate on me.
- 14:04It's called Hurricane Isaiah. Isaias, you know, that's what
- 14:09they were saying. Isaias, as of right now, where
- 14:12is the hurricane? The hurricane is on its way to
- 14:16the Gulf Coast. So the last coordinates they
- 14:18had, if you guys can see this, I hope the last coordinates that
- 14:21they had was about 7:00 PM on a Friday.
- 14:28It'd be close to making landfall.
- 14:30So let me just give you an idea of what is going on over there
- 14:34and where that's at. Military Naval Air Station
- 14:37Pensacola is there. I just got back from there doing
- 14:39a, doing a interview. Eglin Air Force Base, I was
- 14:43there as well. Herbert Field, which is right
- 14:44next door. Keesler Air Force Base, the
- 14:46Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport and Gulf Coast
- 14:50Coast Guard installation that is all up and down there.
- 14:53That is. And there's so much, so much, so
- 14:55much more, as you guys can see right here.
- 14:58I don't know if you guys can see that.
- 14:59I don't know if you guys could see my little wand or whatever
- 15:03but as of Thursday at 1:00 PM is still out in the Gulf of
- 15:07America. It is still getting traction.
- 15:11Anybody who ever has been to the Gulf in Texas, Louisiana,
- 15:15Mississippi, Alabama or Florida knows that the Gulf of Mexico
- 15:20water is warm. It's warm almost year around.
- 15:23It never gets cold, maybe a little bit up there in New
- 15:26Orleans and stuff like that. But for the most part that water
- 15:29is warm, especially during the summertime.
- 15:31It is a cesspool for any hurricane that gets into that
- 15:35Gulf of America. It is just horrible because it
- 15:38just draws all its power and everything from that, that that
- 15:41warm water. A lot of hurricanes don't
- 15:45survive much out in the Atlantic.
- 15:46They get sheer off of the United States coming down.
- 15:49But man, when they're in the Gulf of Mexico or excuse me, the
- 15:51Gulf of America is renamed, we'll just say the Gulf that we
- 15:55have to please everybody because I, I know people are sitting
- 15:57here saying this, this and this. So we will definitely have to to
- 16:01check that out. We're going to take a quick
- 16:03break here on military broadcast radio and we come back.
- 16:06We will definitely be talking more.
- 28:56This entire military is 1. Cohesive.
- 28:59Dedicated. Force.
- 29:02And the. Threats to our nation's They
- 29:04don't sleep. They're watching our every move
- 29:08Iran, Russia, China, North Korea, ISIS, Al Qaeda.
- 29:14They may be watching this right? Hey, my name is Andrew Wiscombe
- 29:17and this is my submission for the Gems in the Rough 2021
- 29:21contest. I have no idea what's going on,
- 33:24but anyways, we had a little bit of a snafu here.
- 33:26We're trying to get some things in the studio set up, so I'll
- 33:29have a couple more minutes, like 30 minutes, less than 30 minutes
- 33:32to get through this. So anyway, so if you're joining
- 33:35me right now, I apologize. So we had a little snafu here in
- 33:40the studio. So I apologize about that, but
- 33:42we're back now. I know I we were running all
- 33:45kinds of things, running all kinds of we just had music
- 33:48playing. We were like on extended break,
- 33:50like I had like the one of the longest breaks I think I've ever
- 33:52had in my life. So if you're just joining us
- 33:54back on veterans talk, we were talking about the hurricane
- 33:56depending doom and what's going on.
- 34:00Listen, if you guys are actually in that area of of the
- 34:04hurricane, I'm telling you, for somebody who survived or who's
- 34:07been in a couple hurricanes and I've seen the impact, especially
- 34:11in the Gulf Coast area, the storm surge is what is is was is
- 34:16really, really scary is because of the 17 foot storm surge.
- 34:20And if you have no idea what that's like, imagine when I was
- 34:23in Hurricane Katrina, they had 22 foot storm surges.
- 34:26And while I was walking, I literally saw a boat in a pine
- 34:29tree 22 feet up in the air, a boat.
- 34:32And we're not talking about a little little kayak.
- 34:34We're talking about it like a full size boat.
- 34:35So you know, if you're in that area, don't take it lightly.
- 34:39There is mandatory. I know that the base
- 34:41installation commander for Herbert Field gave a mandatory
- 34:46evacuation for all personnel that are living outside of the
- 34:52base for that area for Herbert Field.
- 34:55So that's, that's pretty huge. The installation command
- 34:58commander, the military chain of command, local emergency
- 35:00authorities, essential personnel who may have to stay and what
- 35:04happens to the dependents, right?
- 35:06So if you're a loved one and you're mandatory to stay there,
- 35:08make sure your dependents, your dogs, your cats and everybody
- 35:10you're taking care of, get them to higher ground, get them the
- 35:12heck out of there. Listen, this storm is, is going
- 35:14to bring in a lot of water. And that's one of the the
- 35:17craziest things. Those of you don't know, Florida
- 35:19is only about, I know in Miami we're only about 3.7 to 5 feet
- 35:23above sea level. We're not that, that, that far
- 35:25above sea level compared to other places.
- 35:27So this is something that's really important.
- 35:30You should really, really take heed to it.
- 35:33Get out of there. Seriously.
- 35:34If you don't need to be there, don't go there.
- 35:38Hurricane IIICA is ICA is, I'm hope I'm saying that right is
- 35:44due to make landfall somewhere around Friday late evening and
- 35:48the projectory of it is going to be up in that area around there.
- 35:53So please take you to that. We're going to take a real quick
- 35:56break. I promise we'll be right back.
- 35:58But this is something that we have to do just to try to fix
- 36:00this little snafu that we have. Every time I think I'm going to
- 39:16have a great show and things are going to be awesome and stuff
- 39:18like that, something goes snafu. That ever happened to you guys
- 39:25like crazy, right? Like absolutely crazy.
- 39:28Anyways, if you're rejoining us right now, we're wrapping up
- 39:30about the hurricane. If you're in those areas, please
- 39:33take heed, get the higher ground, be careful.
- 39:36Just be careful. It's a little Cray Cray over
- 39:39there right now. And you know, even Birmingham,
- 39:42AL is supposed to get dumped in torrential rain.
- 39:45I mean, this this thing's supposed to have so much rain
- 39:48and water with it from sitting out there in the ocean that you
- 39:52know, it's going to be like a never ending.
- 39:55So here's the whole the whole thing right here.
- 39:59It says Okaloosa Island, Florida.
- 40:03I know they're having bad weather already out there from,
- 40:05you know, some of the sheer and stuff like that.
- 40:07And if I could just just for one second go over some stuff with
- 40:12you guys. The way the hurricane works,
- 40:14right spins kind of like a, you know, round circle.
- 40:20It's constantly picking up water and dumping water at the same
- 40:23time on the back end. So that's why they say the back
- 40:25end is the dirtiest of a hurricane.
- 40:27So as a hurricanes going like in a swirly swirl, right like a
- 40:31sphere, the back end of it is dumping that water.
- 40:34So when it makes landfall, it's the actual back end.
- 40:36So imagine the eye of the hurricane, the back end over
- 40:39here is the one that dumps the most water.
- 40:42And that's where you have a swelling of lakes, swelling upon
- 40:44swelling of canals and stuff like that because it's just
- 40:48sucking all that water and then just dropping it on the back
- 40:53end. I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's
- 40:55absolutely crazy. Imagine being in the bathtub and
- 40:57you take your hand and you swat the water.
- 41:00How it all goes to the front and then it kind of like all goes to
- 41:03the other side, right? That's kind of like the the, the
- 41:06thing that the hurricane does. I know I'm, I'm, I'm not a
- 41:08meteorologist. I took a semester of it in
- 41:10college and I sucked at it. But anyways, but yeah, please be
- 41:14careful if you're there. It's a yeah.
- 41:20This just, this isn't just about military buildings.
- 41:23It's about a, it's about a whole community, right, that you need
- 41:25to look out for. Have you ever been stationed
- 41:30somewhere during a hurricane? How did you guys handle it?
- 41:33I mean, that's crazy. I know that, you know, Hurricane
- 41:36Andrew back in 1992 in Homestead, FL, was the demise of
- 41:40that Air Force Base. That Air Force Base was
- 41:42completely closed because 92% of the buildings there were
- 41:45devastated, right. So just something to think
- 41:49about. Just something to think about.
- 41:51I mean, it is what it is, right? But Mother Nature always wins.
- 41:55So something else switching gears a little bit here.
- 42:00Talk about something that I know that a lot of veterans are, are
- 42:03kind of in limbo about maybe not really in limbo but are
- 42:08questioning or maybe you were around, maybe you weren't
- 42:10around. But there's a gentleman that I
- 42:13follow. His name is Silly Goose and he
- 42:16is a really good podcaster. He's active duty military E7
- 42:24stationed at Fort Hood. So I saw his podcast and, and
- 42:27chatted with him a little bit today.
- 42:30Those of you don't know, I was injured in Iraq and when I was
- 42:33injured, I was at Walter Reed Hospital.
- 42:35One of my caregivers, one of my doctors was a Doctor Who was,
- 42:39for a better lack of words, not very professional.
- 42:42Nobody really cared for him too much.
- 42:44He said some off the wall, off the collar things.
- 42:48PTSD is not real. I mean, just a lot of crazy
- 42:53things. Well, that doctor is currently,
- 42:58as most of you know, set for execution.
- 43:03So Army set the execution date for convicted murderer Nadal
- 43:07Hassan. So if you don't know who Nadal
- 43:09Hassan was, he was an Army psychiatrist who went to Fort
- 43:13Hood and took a pistol and a bunch of other guns and wound up
- 43:16shooting and killing thirteen people at Fort Hood, TX back in
- 43:192013, I believe it was August 23rd, matter of fact, of 2013.
- 43:27So in accordance with Army Regulation 190-55, the Secretary
- 43:32of the Army must select an execution date that falls within
- 43:3560 to 150 days from the date the President of the United States
- 43:40approved the death sentence. So President Trump approved the
- 43:43death sentence. It was, you know, given the
- 43:45dominus ominous to, you know, Merck, him, if you will.
- 43:49And I take that from you, silly goose.
- 43:52And there's just so many questions.
- 43:58There's so many questions. I mean, and I'm taking some of
- 44:00these from people that I saw. He wasn't a good guy.
- 44:05He, he wasn't, he was not a good guy.
- 44:07He wasn't, he wasn't even a decent guy.
- 44:08I mean, he was a, a, a murderer. And he said that he did this in
- 44:12the name of jihad. There was a bunch of emails that
- 44:15President Obama had received or knew about or saw where Nidal
- 44:19Hassan was actually emailing a known terrorist in the Middle
- 44:25East. It was telling him, hey, I'm
- 44:26going to commit jihad. I'm going to do this in the name
- 44:28of Allah. And he did.
- 44:31He shot and killed 13 people at Fort Hood, TX, 13 people and
- 44:36wounded and, and injured many of them.
- 44:38It's, it's, it's, you know, it's bad.
- 44:40But they found him guilty of 42 counts on August 2013 and then a
- 44:46five days later he was set the punishment of death row we put
- 44:50on death row. So if you don't know the whole
- 44:53story, Nidal Hassan was injured severely when military police, I
- 44:57believe was a female at matter of fact returned fire and
- 45:00neutralized him. He was injured and is paralyzed
- 45:03from the waist down. So one of the big questions is
- 45:07the execution. So he will be executed on
- 45:11December the 3rd. Why is that date?
- 45:14Some say that word five times to what happened is that December
- 45:213rd is. So according to military
- 45:23regulations, the quickest day is within six days of the final
- 45:27order signed by the president, which would be December the 3rd.
- 45:31And it can't be later than so many days.
- 45:33So, you know, according to armed regulations, that's the date the
- 45:36soonest that I guess they could do it.
- 45:39He is to be executed by firing squad, ironically, at Fort Hood,
- 45:44TX, where he took the lives of those 13 individuals, both
- 45:47civilians and soldiers and it's and injured many others kind of
- 45:52crazy. I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's
- 45:54crazy. I, I remember, and most of you
- 45:56don't know the story, but in 2018 or 19 I believe it was, I
- 45:59get a phone call from Fort Stewart, GA and had to go back
- 46:05to on active duty for a couple days.
- 46:06Then they asked me a bunch of questions about him being my
- 46:08doctor and stuff like that. So it's kind of crazy.
- 46:11He was indeed a crazy man, definitely a crazy man.
- 46:15And listen, I'm not, I'm not here to be judge and juror, you
- 46:20know, my faith and, and I don't bring that to the radio station,
- 46:22but I believe God is the only one that can judge.
- 46:27I can't judge. So you know, he is going to have
- 46:30to be judged by God, not by me. So with that being said, the
- 46:37Acting Secretary of of the Army, the Honorable Adam Telly,
- 46:41directed the execution of Nidal Hassan by firing squad.
- 46:44The execution will take place in Fort Hood, TX at 1:00 PM Central
- 46:49Standard Time on December the 3rd, 2020 Sixth, the President
- 46:52has solely authority, sole authority to approve the
- 46:54sentence of death for military prisoner.
- 46:58On October the 2nd, 2020 Sixth, President Donald Trump approved
- 47:02the death sentence. In this case, the President
- 47:03acted following completion of a full appellate process which
- 47:08upheld the conviction and sentenced to death.
- 47:10So those of you don't know, again, he represented himself as
- 47:13his own lawyer, which you know by our laws that you're allowed
- 47:17to do in accordance with the Army regulations.
- 47:19The court martial found him guilty on all 42 accounts.
- 47:22On March the 31st, 2025, the Supreme Court denied his request
- 47:25for review of his court martial conviction.
- 47:28Army Regulation 190-55 governs the procedures for military
- 47:33executions in accordance with the regulation, upon final
- 47:36judgment as to the legality of the court martial proceedings,
- 47:40the Judge Advocate General transmits various documents
- 47:44including the record of the trial, any clemency petitions by
- 47:47the prisoner and or counsel, the T Jag recommendation to the
- 47:52Secretary of the Army. The Army Secretary of the Army
- 47:54makes the recommendation, then forward the package to Secretary
- 47:56of the War, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 47:58So what does that mean? That means he's set for
- 48:01execution. I mean, you know, I, I, I had
- 48:04some of this, so much of this stuff that I read and, and it's,
- 48:07it's kind of crazy. I mean, he doesn't even look
- 48:09like the same guy that, you know, represented.
- 48:15I, I guess was my doctor. I still remember sitting across
- 48:18from him, you know, I still remember talking to him.
- 48:21I still remember how unprofessional he was, if you
- 48:25will. But you know, that's that's my
- 48:30connection with Nidal Hassan, the former former Army major who
- 48:33set for execution on December the 3rd.
- 48:37So somebody wrote in the chat, they said, will this be live
- 48:40streamed? I highly doubt it.
- 48:43I highly doubt it. See, here's where I have to draw
- 48:45the line. And a lot of people don't talk
- 48:47about this, but I will talk about it.
- 48:48And again, everybody knows on my show, I don't talk about
- 48:50politics or religion. And that's because in the
- 48:53military, we really don't care what religion you are, and we
- 48:56really don't you don't care what your political affiliation is.
- 48:59In the military's we care about is that you have my back and I
- 49:02got yours, period. And the story, we're all one
- 49:03color, and that's green, unless you're ACU edition of that.
- 49:09And that's about all. So, yeah.
- 49:12So what is my take on that? Well, where I draw the line at
- 49:16we don't need to glorify this. You know, he is a horrible
- 49:20person. He is a very evil person.
- 49:24He took the lives of 13 innocent individuals.
- 49:27I will say this soft targets, right?
- 49:31Unfairly, regardless of what he believed in, if he believed in
- 49:34jihad, that he should have went over there and fought against
- 49:36us. Get take off that uniform.
- 49:38Go back to your roots. Go, go over there to wherever
- 49:40you're from and, you know, fight for them.
- 49:45But to do it cowardly like terrorists do.
- 49:47And that's why they're called terrorists, because they're not
- 49:50war mongers. They're not, they're not war
- 49:54fighters. They are terrorists.
- 49:56They take advantage of innocent people, right?
- 50:00So if I go to another country and I have a gun, I am now at
- 50:04war, right? And well, if we are at war, I'll
- 50:07say that 'cause I know people are going to get a little mad
- 50:09about that, but we're at war then I am considered a warrior,
- 50:13right? I am at war.
- 50:14That's the word warrior, right? Terrorist is not that terrorist
- 50:17takes aim at innocent people. That's what he did.
- 50:21He took 13 lives and injured many, many more innocent people,
- 50:25people that were do doing a pre deployment, a pre deployment.
- 50:29And his reason was he didn't want to go to Afghanistan
- 50:31because he believed in jihad. OK, I'm going to tell you a
- 50:35quick story. We had a Sergeant first class in
- 50:38the United States Army served in we served in Kosovo together, he
- 50:42and I, Webster was his name. And when we got back from
- 50:46Kosovo, we were headed straight to Iraq.
- 50:48And he didn't want to go because he was Muslim.
- 50:50And he said, I don't want to pick up arms against my Muslim
- 50:52brothers and sisters. That's fine.
- 50:56That's fine. But you took an oath and signed
- 50:58a contract. That's OK.
- 51:01Listen, I have to take my headset off for a second because
- 51:03it's bothering me. But I want you to know
- 51:05something. You took an oath.
- 51:08You took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United
- 51:10States against armed, you know, armed conflict or in domestic,
- 51:15doesn't matter. Sergeant Webster was a supply
- 51:20Sergeant. It wasn't like he was going over
- 51:23to pick up arms against his Muslim brothers and sisters
- 51:26anyway. He was a supply Sergeant.
- 51:29He worked in our supply. He wasn't infantry, wasn't a
- 51:33combat injured demolition explosive.
- 51:35He wasn't an armorer. He was a supply Sergeant.
- 51:39They fried him to the cross. He wound up going to prison. 14
- 51:43years he had on active duty services at E76.
- 51:46More years he could have retired, busted down to private.
- 51:50Bye bye he went, bye bye. He went to jail and kicked out
- 51:52of the military because he was like no defiant.
- 51:56Nope, Nope. Not doing it, not doing it, not
- 51:58doing it. OK, well, we'll bust you down
- 51:59and probably kick you out of the military.
- 52:00Fine. Not a big deal.
- 52:02Not a big deal. Listen, if you're a CEO of a
- 52:04company and you do that, if you are a supervisor of a company
- 52:09and you say no, I don't want to from your bosses, you will get
- 52:11fired. That's what they did.
- 52:12They fired him. OK, they fired him.
- 52:15So back to what I was saying with Nadal Hassan, I don't think
- 52:20we need to be a third world country and glorify anything.
- 52:23I, I think his name has been talked about, spoken about more
- 52:27than anybody that was either injured or killed during that
- 52:31horrific shooting at Fort Hood. I bet you can't name one person
- 52:36that was either injured or killed from Fort Hood, but
- 52:39everybody remembers his name. And I think that's unfair.
- 52:42And I think that before they execute him, they should read
- 52:45off every single name of everybody that's been affected
- 52:48by him, either killed or injured.
- 52:51And I think that that should happen right before his
- 52:54execution. Now, again, do I think it should
- 52:56be televised? Absolutely not.
- 52:59You know, Sergeant Bella Vargas said, you know, are they going
- 53:05to have it open where, you know, other soldiers can go and watch
- 53:08this and stuff like that? I don't need to watch that.
- 53:11I don't need to see it. We're not a barbaric country.
- 53:13We're not a third world country. We're not Al Jazeera where we
- 53:16behead somebody on TV and glowed about it.
- 53:19I think that his time has come. He's going to meet his demise.
- 53:22I think that he's going to be dealt the punishment that is
- 53:27fitting for his crime. And I think that he will be
- 53:30sorted out by a God. And I think that's where I'd
- 53:33kind of draw the line. I like, I, like I said, I don't
- 53:35think we're a third world country.
- 53:37I don't think we need to, you know, I don't think we need to
- 53:41glorify his, his massacre. And I don't think we need to
- 53:47glorify his punishment. You know, somebody just wrote in
- 53:52a comment, what do you think about?
- 53:53Well, that's that's a totally different subject.
- 53:55What do I think about the young lady in Tennessee who was given
- 53:57the injection and didn't die? Sometimes evil just doesn't die,
- 54:03you know? And do I think that she should
- 54:06be put through that? Again, that's my personal view,
- 54:09and I'm not going to say anything about that.
- 54:11So if you want to talk offline, I'm more than happy to talk
- 54:14offline about that. But my political view is, is, is
- 54:18not for topic here. I mean, it's just I, I just, I
- 54:22feel different. You're talking about apples and
- 54:23tomatoes, right? I'm sorry.
- 54:25You're talking about somebody who was 17 years old at the time
- 54:27they committed a, a heinous crime.
- 54:29And you're talking about somebody who knew better was a
- 54:30psychiatrist, a major, a field grade officer in the United
- 54:33States Army pulled out a gunshot.
- 54:34A bunch of innocent people, right?
- 54:36She was innocent as well. I got it.
- 54:38She murdered innocent, you know, student the first.
- 54:40But again, I'm talking about military year.
- 54:43You're talking about a young lady.
- 54:44So if you want to hit me up offline, I'll talk about it, but
- 54:46not here on the show. Somebody else wrote in and it
- 54:50said, are you in agreement with the firing squad?
- 54:53We haven't, we haven't had a firing squad since the 1960s.
- 54:56And I think the last person was done by firing squad was I got
- 54:59to look that up now. Now you guys got me questioning
- 55:01that. Wow, that's crazy.
- 55:04What? What?
- 55:05Anybody know off the top of the head what was the last person to
- 55:12have a firing squad? Let's look that up.
- 55:19It was for the military. Sorry.
- 55:28I'll tell you what, I won't be. I don't want to be one of the
- 55:30people firing it. Private Edward Donald Slovic,
- 55:33who was put to death in France on January the 31st, 1945 after
- 55:38being convicted of desertion during World War 2.
- 55:43That's crazy. Just to let you know, that was
- 55:45crazy. And by the way, I stand
- 55:47corrected. Hassan was convicted for the
- 55:492009 mass shooting in 2013. So somebody just wrote me that,
- 55:52so I apologize. The last person, the last person
- 55:57executed by U.S. military overall was a soldier who was
- 55:59hung in 1961, so prior to the upcoming firing squad order of
- 56:05Nidal Aliq Hassan. So there you go.
- 56:08That's crazy. If you left the military back in
- 56:11the day, if you went AWOL absent without leave during combat,
- 56:15they, they shot you. And that's still, by the way,
- 56:17that's still on the books. Still on the books.
- 56:19If you don't believe me, you CMJ for desertion during wartime.
- 56:27It says it right here under Article 85.
- 56:30Desertion committed in time of war can be punished by death.
- 56:38Wow, wow. I mean, there's during wartime
- 56:51punishable by death, dishonorable discharge, total
- 56:53forfeiture pay and allowances and extended confinement during
- 56:57peace. Pont peacetime, they typically
- 56:59just kick you out. Says here, dishonorable
- 57:01discharge, see you later, get out, we don't want you anyways.
- 57:03Death penalty for wartime desertion.
- 57:07The last person was private Eddie Slovak was the the last
- 57:10American soldier executed for desertion, which took place in
- 57:13January 1945 during World War 2000s of service members were
- 57:17convicted of desertion during World War 2, but almost all
- 57:19death sentences were commuted to prison terms.
- 57:22So what was his difference? He must, he must have left on
- 57:25the battlefield. He must have left people holding
- 57:27something. Now we got to research that.
- 57:31Listen, I don't have a lot of time, but we have to research
- 57:33that. I'd really like to know what
- 57:35that was anyways. Wow that's crazy.
- 57:42It just says he was American soldier who was court martial
- 57:45and executed for desertion during World War 2.
- 57:47Doesn't really go into details or anything.
- 57:51He's the only service member to have met such a fate since the
- 57:54American Civil War. Wow.
- 58:04The other two, the last two before the Civil War, after the
- 58:06Civil War were American Philippine War where two
- 58:09soldiers left and deserted to the enemy.
- 58:13So kind of like Dahl Bergdahl, whatever did, if that's what it
- 58:16was, wow, that is crazy. That is crazy, man.
- 58:28Read, you got to read up on that.
- 58:29That is absolutely crazy. Crazy.
- 58:32The last time we executed somebody by fire and scout was
- 58:34in 1940, something crazy. Listen, thank you so much for
- 58:37you guys for dealing with me and the hiccups we had here on
