- 0:05Speaker 1: Wastey on KFM 94.5.
- 0:08Speaker 2: That's what it is. Welcome to your show. It belongs
- 0:11Speaker 2: to you. We are only stewards of this grand kingdom
- 0:14Speaker 2: from 3 to 7 p.m. And we are here to
- 0:16Speaker 2: look after it, facilitate it, and make sure we press
- 0:18Speaker 2: the right buttons for you on a beautiful Wednesday. Many
- 0:21Speaker 2: people call this hump day. I don't do the P
- 0:25Speaker 2: at the end. It's hum day today. We'll switch the
- 0:27Speaker 2: hits at 6 and... To my right is Cassidy Jade Nicholson.
- 0:32Speaker 2: You are looking, I'm going to give you my HR version.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Confident and you look centered and you look content today.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Am I close?
- 0:43Speaker 3: I'm wearing green eyeshadow. That's it.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I am such a big fan of color eyeshadow. I know. Seriously.
- 0:50Speaker 2: And eyeliner colors as well. I'm a big fan. I
- 0:52Speaker 2: think there's something about it. Just something unique that it
- 0:55Speaker 2: offers to one's face. Thanks. Did you do something today?
- 0:59Speaker 2: What are you up to?
- 1:00Speaker 4: I did a really fun shoot with a brand that
- 1:04Speaker 4: you will hear about in the.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Next week or so.
- 1:08Speaker 2: If that's not.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Reason to come back, then I don't know.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Okay, good.
- 1:11Speaker 3: But listen, it is a campaign that is going to
- 1:14Speaker 3: keep on going.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Can I eat it?
- 1:17Speaker 3: Well, it depends.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Can I touch it?
- 1:19Speaker 3: You can touch it.
- 1:20Speaker 2: You can feel it.
- 1:21Speaker 3: You can experience it.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Can you experience it as well? This is good. Okay.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Can I have it?
- 1:27Speaker 3: You can if you win.
- 1:28Speaker 2: If you win? What is it? I'm not going to
- 1:31Speaker 2: tell you.
- 1:31Speaker 5: Okay, cool.
- 1:32Speaker 2: So is that happening next week on the show?
- 1:34Speaker 6: That's happening next week on the show.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I'm very excited about that. That's very good. Okay, you
- 1:39Speaker 2: campaign girl.
- 1:40Speaker 3: It's whatever.
- 1:40Speaker 2: You enjoy your thing. This is good. So today... We're
- 1:45Speaker 2: going to have a little bit of fun today. I
- 1:46Speaker 2: think what's important is for me to give you a
- 1:48Speaker 2: two and a half thousand grand cash back. Maybe give
- 1:50Speaker 2: you the concept prize if you haven't figured it out
- 1:53Speaker 2: already and a flash word opportunity. And I'm going to
- 1:57Speaker 2: call your boss and get you a day off. And
- 1:59Speaker 2: then we're going to hum to each other after six
- 2:00Speaker 2: o'clock and then give you another round of the one up.
- 2:02Speaker 2: A little clip that you heard in the intro of
- 2:04Speaker 2: the show. It's all yours. So let's have the time
- 2:07Speaker 2: of our lives today. It's a flash drive. Here's Miles Smith. Now, Horan,
- 2:10Speaker 2: drive safe. Jordan Sparks, one step at a time. It's
- 2:16Speaker 2: on your show, Flash Drive, KFM 94.5. My name is
- 2:20Speaker 2: Carl Wastey. This is Cassidy Jade Nicholson. Hey, hello, how's it?
- 2:23Speaker 2: And we have been primed to be in your company
- 2:25Speaker 2: until 7 o'clock. Very, very excited to give you something
- 2:28Speaker 2: with clicks. That's good. First, Cassidy didn't even ask what
- 2:31Speaker 2: the best part of my day was. It's fine. I'll
- 2:32Speaker 2: answer anyway. So, you know, when you do a little
- 2:35Speaker 2: bit of an audit, and I'm not going to call
- 2:37Speaker 2: it a spring clean because spring, the equinox is coming later,
- 2:39Speaker 2: but I will do.
- 2:41Speaker 3: End of winter clean.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Yes.
- 2:42Speaker 7: Yes.
- 2:43Speaker 2: There are things that you get to throw away and
- 2:45Speaker 2: the things that you get to keep, you understand what
- 2:47Speaker 2: I mean? And, and I was very, very, it's very
- 2:49Speaker 2: cool today to discover like what I want to keep. Uh,
- 2:52Speaker 2: and that was what I was doing. I was doing
- 2:54Speaker 2: like a proper massive audit because I know for a
- 2:56Speaker 2: fact that there's something inside us, all human beings, when
- 3:00Speaker 2: we spend money on something, we don't want it to
- 3:02Speaker 2: go to waste. So the first thing we do, we
- 3:04Speaker 2: just keep it, whether it is a necessity to us
- 3:06Speaker 2: in this time of our lives or not. And it's
- 3:09Speaker 2: about letting go those one, those couple of things and,
- 3:11Speaker 2: That I know is not a necessity.
- 3:13Speaker 8: Right.
- 3:14Speaker 2: So, recently, I found an e-waste company. So, I got
- 3:18Speaker 2: rid of a lot of kilograms of e-waste. And I
- 3:21Speaker 2: get a certificate as well, which is pretty cool. And
- 3:24Speaker 2: it says, like, I've responsibly disposed of these things. So,
- 3:26Speaker 2: I got that sorted. But then I found, like, a
- 3:29Speaker 2: really cool old-school filing cabinet, which I planned to spray paint. So,
- 3:32Speaker 2: I'm feeling very, very organized in that way. In case
- 3:35Speaker 2: you were asking the best part of my day, I
- 3:37Speaker 2: didn't need green eyeshadow for it, but... I was feeding
- 3:40Speaker 2: the green eyeshadow vibes.
- 3:41Speaker 9: Okay.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I'm into it. Yeah, no, it's very cool. What you
- 3:44Speaker 2: can find on a journey to declutter.
- 3:47Speaker 3: You said old school filing cabinets.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Is it like an old detective one where you pull
- 3:52Speaker 4: out or do you open it like a fridge?
- 3:54Speaker 2: It is the pull out version and it is really
- 3:57Speaker 2: cool and it's big and it's like, it's still in
- 4:00Speaker 2: good nick, but it's got that old school gray safe color.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Oh, like.
- 4:07Speaker 2: And I know someone who does spray painting. Like they
- 4:10Speaker 2: do car spray painting and that sort of thing. That's awesome.
- 4:12Speaker 2: So what I'm going to do is I'm going to
- 4:13Speaker 2: pick a very cool color and I'm just going to
- 4:16Speaker 2: get that spray painted because that's an antique and I
- 4:18Speaker 2: don't want to get rid of it. I think sometimes
- 4:20Speaker 2: you just have to hang on to those cool things
- 4:22Speaker 2: in your house that just kind of are lying there. Yeah, exactly.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I mean, if I had to find a picture of
- 4:29Speaker 2: that boy with a one-tier, like that little picture that
- 4:32Speaker 2: was in our grandparents' house, I'd probably put that up.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I would if I could find one of those. Would you?
- 4:37Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 7: Nostalgic.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I think if I found.
- 4:40Speaker 3: That girl that's always loafing.
- 4:44Speaker 2: That girl would be so, with a dog. With a dog.
- 4:47Speaker 4: I think I would probably like spray paint it like
- 4:50Speaker 4: a silver or something and put it in the garden.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Like who needs a garden? She's going to have the.
- 4:55Speaker 2: You're saying a garden girl.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Well, she's going to loaf there.
- 4:58Speaker 2: So she's going to loaf in the garden. That's so cool.
- 5:00Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 5:01Speaker 2: Well, you know, maybe you can get guests. If they
- 5:03Speaker 2: go past her to chip in with like a two
- 5:06Speaker 2: rand or something like that. That's all I'm saying. You know,
- 5:07Speaker 2: you've spent your entire life adding hope. You might as
- 5:09Speaker 2: well add to that girl as well. That'd be cool
- 5:13Speaker 2: to find her too. Oh my word.
- 5:15Speaker 3: If you know a contact man, let me know.
- 5:17Speaker 2: For the girl that's loafing. That'd be so cool to get.
- 5:21Speaker 2: And even one of those old school red, those post boxes.
- 5:26Speaker 10: Yes.
- 5:26Speaker 2: That'd be so cool to have. I didn't find one
- 5:28Speaker 2: of those. But sometimes it's okay to keep some things.
- 5:31Speaker 2: But the other things I made a big decision about,
- 5:33Speaker 2: I said, if I haven't used this in a year
- 5:35Speaker 2: and it's of no use to me, it's time to
- 5:37Speaker 2: let go. E-waste or responsible disposal or donation, die. done
- 5:42Speaker 2: and dusted so i'm feeling very much in a spring
- 5:45Speaker 2: in my step not yet equinox is coming.
- 5:47Speaker 3: End of winter in your step yes exactly.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Uh so if you want a spring in your step
- 5:51Speaker 2: of a different kind then i think what you need
- 5:53Speaker 2: to do is download the clicks app when it's at
- 5:55Speaker 2: your fingertips it's so much easier to shop and then
- 5:58Speaker 2: fill your cart with some of your health care essentials
- 6:00Speaker 2: and then send it my way a screenshot is fine
- 6:03Speaker 2: i want to give you a two and a half
- 6:04Speaker 2: thousand cash back but remember I want to get justification
- 6:07Speaker 2: as to why those things are in there. Don't just
- 6:09Speaker 2: put things in there and say like, yeah, there's my
- 6:11Speaker 2: card call. Give me the money. No, I'm very strict today.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I want to hear great stories about each little item
- 6:17Speaker 2: that's in there. People have already entered. I appreciate you.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Some people have entered with lots of different things, but
- 6:24Speaker 2: that means you've got a lot more aspects to your story.
- 6:27Speaker 2: And don't just say you're going to add the moisturizer
- 6:29Speaker 2: because my skin is dry. No, then I'll put the
- 6:31Speaker 2: phone down in your ear.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Not in the ear.
- 6:33Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. It's going to happen. All right.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I'm being very strict today because I know a lot
- 6:37Speaker 2: of people and I'll say it. A lot of people
- 6:40Speaker 2: want to win. And I get that. I feel that.
- 6:43Speaker 2: But I think that your win is even better when
- 6:45Speaker 2: it's from something that you've like you've held dear in
- 6:47Speaker 2: your health and wellness journey. And you can really have
- 6:49Speaker 2: a really story behind it. I think that's so much
- 6:51Speaker 2: more beautiful than just saying like, dude, but you need
- 6:54Speaker 2: to waste the app downloaded through some things in there. Yeah,
- 6:57Speaker 2: they are. And I mean, I think the things in
- 6:58Speaker 2: your cart will also show you a little bit about
- 7:01Speaker 2: people's lives and what they're doing, what they're up to,
- 7:03Speaker 2: what their milestones are. whether they are journeying towards something
- 7:07Speaker 2: like a goal. I love hearing those sorts of things.
- 7:09Speaker 2: So send them my way, 082-945-0940, please. And let's get
- 7:14Speaker 2: you off the road. That iconic fade out of a song.
- 7:19Speaker 2: There it is. Cher, if I could turn back time.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I know that you would like to win a two
- 7:24Speaker 2: and a half thousand cash back. I am so happy
- 7:27Speaker 2: to give that to you. And the task was simple today.
- 7:34Speaker 2: All I needed from you was for you to fill
- 7:36Speaker 2: your clicks app cart with some of your health essentials. Hello. Phenoms. Yo, Phenoms.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Tell me, I'm seeing a bunch of things in here.
- 7:50Speaker 2: that are very baby-related. Do you have something to tell me?
- 7:53Speaker 2: What is happening? What's going on here? Because I'm looking,
- 7:55Speaker 2: I see the Nativa Complex Mom-to-Be Shake, hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge,
- 8:01Speaker 2: the Jelly Cell Plus Heartburn Relief in Pregnancy, wink, wink,
- 8:06Speaker 2: Gaviscon Advance Aniseed, more winks, and then at the end,
- 8:10Speaker 2: the VitaTech Kids Vegan Multi-Vitamin Gummies, the 60s. What's happening?
- 8:16Speaker 2: What's happening, Sophomore?
- 8:17Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 1: So.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yes, it did work.
- 8:21Speaker 11: My midwife let me know. I'm expecting my third baby. Unexpected, unplanned.
- 8:27Speaker 11: So yeah, I'm still in shock. I'm excited. I'm ready
- 8:31Speaker 11: for the journey. So I need to get myself well.
- 8:35Speaker 11: I need to get my body ready because I am
- 8:37Speaker 11: a mom that's up and down. In the industry I
- 8:40Speaker 11: work in, I have to be very, very healthy. So yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 2: What do you do for a living?
- 8:47Speaker 11: So I am an interior decorator for stores. I go
- 8:52Speaker 11: to three or four different stores a whole week. And
- 8:55Speaker 11: then I move furniture around. I make it look beautiful.
- 8:58Speaker 12: I freshen it up.
- 8:59Speaker 11: So I physically and mentally need to be healthy to
- 9:02Speaker 11: do my work. And with a baby bump on the way...
- 9:06Speaker 11: I'm actually now nine weeks, so yay.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Yay, congratulations. We have a flash drive, Baba on the way.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Oh my, I've got so many name ideas for you
- 9:17Speaker 2: for this, Baba. I mean, so the other two, all right,
- 9:20Speaker 2: is this a girl and a boy, the other two? Girls, boys?
- 9:22Speaker 11: No, so I have two girls. I have a teenager
- 9:26Speaker 11: of 15 and a little one of five.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Do you know what's going to happen, right? It's a boy, okay?
- 9:32Speaker 2: I'm telling you now, it's a boy.
- 9:34Speaker 9: I'm praying.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And I'm thinking Carl. Beautiful name, four letters, lovely. However, Safwa,
- 9:42Speaker 2: if you need to be more religiously connected, I can
- 9:47Speaker 2: help with a different version if you want.
- 9:49Speaker 11: I think Carl is fantastic.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Are you sure?
- 9:53Speaker 11: 100%. I am 100% going with that name. I'm promising
- 9:58Speaker 11: you that.
- 9:58Speaker 2: No, don't promise me that. get me excited. No, don't
- 10:02Speaker 2: do that to me.
- 10:02Speaker 9: Carl, I will.
- 10:03Speaker 11: Literally come to you, Carl, and be like, you're Carl Jr.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Sure. I was about to say that wouldn't be the
- 10:10Speaker 2: first time. No, I'm kidding. I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm kidding.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I'm kidding. I'm joking. It's never happened. It's never.
- 10:16Speaker 2: It's never happened. Anyway, thank you very much for sharing. Congratulations.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You've just won a Bubba's two and a half thousand
- 10:22Speaker 2: cash back. It's all yours. Yes.
- 10:26Speaker 13: Thank you guys.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Baby, baby. I can't wait to meet Carl. What a
- 10:31Speaker 2: bundle of joy, really. Safwa, well done. You are a winner.

- 11:07Speaker 2: for you, Cassidy. Oh, I don't mean to tantalize the
- 11:09Speaker 2: taste buds, but I do. That's what the flash drive,
- 11:12Speaker 2: how we roll. You understand what I'm talking about?
- 11:13Speaker 3: I'm excited.
- 11:14Speaker 7: All right.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Some of the things that I have to offer you
- 11:16Speaker 2: is in, I mean, one of them is an iconic line.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Lolly to make you jolly. Yes. Water for your daughter.
- 11:23Speaker 2: That's one of the things. You'll find out why it's
- 11:26Speaker 2: so lovely.
- 11:28Speaker 14: Okay.
- 11:28Speaker 2: The other one is productivity is important. All right. But
- 11:34Speaker 2: I found out the approximate time that we need to
- 11:38Speaker 2: actually be productive. And it's going to shock you because
- 11:41Speaker 2: according to traditional belief, eight hours, right?
- 11:45Speaker 15: Yes.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Eight hours. That's the productivity standard. Anyway. And then do
- 11:51Speaker 2: you know what the upper part, the upper front part
- 11:54Speaker 2: of a shoe that covers the top of your foot
- 11:57Speaker 2: is called? You know how people, you know, they call
- 12:01Speaker 2: it a certain thing. All right.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Upper part.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Yes, the upper part of the thing that covers.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Because you've got the sole of your shoe, right?
- 12:08Speaker 2: Yes.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Okay, the top part.
- 12:10Speaker 2: That's it. The foam that forms on top of fermenting beer.
- 12:13Speaker 2: You know what that's called? You understand what I mean?
- 12:16Speaker 3: I've said it once.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I have a bunch of things that, you know what,
- 12:19Speaker 2: you see them every day, but you're not really sure
- 12:21Speaker 2: what the name of them is. And I think it'll
- 12:23Speaker 2: be quite healthy to learn some new stuff today. All right.
- 12:27Speaker 2: That is called.
- 12:27Speaker 10: Agreed.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Octothorpe knowledge.
- 12:30Speaker 7: Really?
- 12:31Speaker 2: Octothorpe is a hashtag.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Why are we hashtagging Octothorpe?
- 12:35Speaker 2: Because I said hashtag knowledge. Oh, oh. Keep up, keep up.
- 12:39Speaker 7: Come, come, come.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Now for Octothorpe traffic. Oh my goodness.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Let me take a beat.
- 12:46Speaker 2: So while you're working, I was working for you and
- 12:48Speaker 2: I found a couple of things. I'll tell you what,
- 12:49Speaker 2: I'll start with my resident Apple user in front of me. Hello,
- 12:52Speaker 2: Apple user.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Hello, Android user.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Apple is reportedly considering bringing charging adapters and wired earpods
- 12:59Speaker 2: back into iPhone boxes, reversing one of its most controversial
- 13:02Speaker 2: packaging decisions. The company removed the accessories in 2020 and
- 13:05Speaker 2: are bringing it back because sometimes it's just liquor to
- 13:08Speaker 2: have a cable attached to your earpods, right?
- 13:10Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 13:11Speaker 2: You don't want everything to be wireless.
- 13:14Speaker 10: No.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Unless it's the radio. Okay, cool. There we go. So that's,
- 13:18Speaker 2: I thought I'd share that with you. That's very cool. Then,
- 13:20Speaker 2: everybody thinks eight hours, that's productivity.
- 13:23Speaker 10: Yes.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. A survey of nearly 2,000 individuals in
- 13:27Speaker 2: the UK, those office workers, the survey produced the results
- 13:32Speaker 2: that will shock you, all right? People consider themselves productive
- 13:36Speaker 2: for just two hours and 53 minutes on average. And 79%
- 13:39Speaker 2: said they weren't productive throughout the entire day. So where
- 13:43Speaker 2: does the rest of the time go? The survey found
- 13:46Speaker 2: workers spent an average more than an hour reading news websites,
- 13:49Speaker 2: 44 minutes on social media, and around 40 minutes chatting
- 13:52Speaker 2: to colleagues about non-work stuff, proving that you only need
- 13:55Speaker 2: around three hours a day. That's it. Your productivity time
- 13:58Speaker 2: has a limit. Man, sir, employers, let's consider that before
- 14:02Speaker 2: we lock someone in for the whole nine to five,
- 14:05Speaker 2: you could get so much more from them from, let's
- 14:08Speaker 2: just say, from like an 11 till two. You know
- 14:11Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 14:12Speaker 3: I'm down.
- 14:13Speaker 2: That'll be cool. Three hours is all you need for
- 14:16Speaker 2: your man, sir, to actually churn out. Then, I was very,
- 14:19Speaker 2: very happy to hear that you heard the iconic lines.
- 14:25Speaker 2: You were on the beach and... The icons. All right.
- 14:34Speaker 2: That particular individual, Vincent Cedrus.
- 14:37Speaker 1: All right.
- 14:37Speaker 2: The icon that really made this whole thing famous for generations. Capetonians.
- 14:42Speaker 2: We've loved the beach traders. We love the way they
- 14:44Speaker 2: walk past, the way they interact. They are so cool.
- 14:47Speaker 2: And they are as important to Cape Town as our mountain,
- 14:51Speaker 2: as our attractions, our people. That's the main attraction, especially
- 14:55Speaker 2: in tourism months. We need to find out more about
- 14:57Speaker 2: their stories. So I was happy to hear a lolly
- 15:00Speaker 2: to make you jolly is now a new book. And
- 15:03Speaker 2: former beach trader Paul Jacobson, along with Venetia Cedrus, has
- 15:07Speaker 2: created this thing. The book celebrates the people behind the
- 15:09Speaker 2: familiar beachside cries, including Vincent Cedrus, remembered as the father
- 15:13Speaker 2: of Cape Town's beach traders, and also explores the history
- 15:17Speaker 2: and the humor and the community behind a tradition that
- 15:19Speaker 2: became just part of our heritage and our culture. Whenever
- 15:22Speaker 2: we laid on the beach, honestly, we got our water
- 15:24Speaker 2: for our daughter, a lolly to make us jolly. We've
- 15:27Speaker 2: got exactly what we need from those traders. And it
- 15:30Speaker 2: was so cool. It really is. And I'm so excited
- 15:33Speaker 2: about this book and I cannot wait to give it
- 15:34Speaker 2: a read. It's a brand new one. Sorted. Lolly to
- 15:38Speaker 2: make you jolly.
- 15:39Speaker 3: That has made my day.
- 15:41Speaker 2: So when it comes out, trust me, when it's available,
- 15:45Speaker 2: when they are available, Paul and Venetia, want to bring
- 15:47Speaker 2: them into the flash drive, we'd love to have a
- 15:49Speaker 2: chat about something that's really incredible. I think it's a
- 15:52Speaker 2: really beautiful thing. And now... If you're wondering what these thingies,
- 15:57Speaker 2: you know, we use dungus a lot as Capetonians. Yes.
- 16:01Speaker 2: You know that dungus, man, it's broken. Like, what's the dungus? No,
- 16:04Speaker 2: the thingy-ma-jig.
- 16:05Speaker 1: No.
- 16:06Speaker 2: What is it? Now, there are just a list of
- 16:09Speaker 2: things that I want to empower you with so you
- 16:11Speaker 2: know what they're called.
- 16:12Speaker 9: All right?
- 16:13Speaker 2: Here we go. So, a raised itchy area of skin,
- 16:16Speaker 2: like the bump caused by a mosquito. All right? Or
- 16:20Speaker 2: even hives, that raised thing. Now, I thought these were
- 16:22Speaker 2: just like bumps or itchy bites or even welts. Usually
- 16:26Speaker 2: we got waltz because we got hidings growing up. You
- 16:28Speaker 2: know what I mean? But that's called the wheel. W-H-E-A-L. W-E-H.
- 16:34Speaker 2: So when you look at an itchy bite, you're going
- 16:35Speaker 2: to say, I can't wait for the wheel to heal.
- 16:37Speaker 2: So there you go. Now you will never forget it. Next,
- 16:40Speaker 2: to satisfy or quench something, especially thirst, it's called slake. S-L-A-K-E.
- 16:46Speaker 2: So slake. So when you're drinking water and you get that...
- 16:49Speaker 2: You know when you're really list for water and you're
- 16:52Speaker 2: just down the ice cold water?
- 16:54Speaker 9: Slake.
- 16:54Speaker 10: Slake.
- 16:55Speaker 2: That is what it is. You're satisfying that. And then
- 16:58Speaker 2: you've got the pale crescent-shaped area at the base of
- 17:03Speaker 2: your fingernail.
- 17:04Speaker 3: That little half moon.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Yeah, the lunula. When you say half moon, loon, luna?
- 17:09Speaker 6: Luna.
- 17:10Speaker 10: Lunula.
- 17:11Speaker 2: There we go. And I'll never forget it. You see,
- 17:12Speaker 2: I need to lock these in for you. The tiny
- 17:14Speaker 2: ridges around the side of a coin. You know the
- 17:17Speaker 2: edge of a coin? You get those ridges over there?
- 17:19Speaker 2: It's called reading. R-double-E-D-I-N-G. Cool, eh? The little loop on
- 17:24Speaker 2: a belt or watch strap that holds that little loose sticky.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Yes.
- 17:30Speaker 2: It's just called a keeper. So that little thing, it's
- 17:33Speaker 2: called a keeper. So you wear a lot of belts,
- 17:35Speaker 2: don't you? Change approved. There we go. All right. Not
- 17:37Speaker 2: even change. It's been called that all the time. We
- 17:39Speaker 2: just called it like the loop or the slot.
- 17:40Speaker 3: The belt loop, yeah.
- 17:41Speaker 2: The thingy. The thingy to put the donas. Yes, you see.
- 17:44Speaker 2: And then the decorative piece at the top, well, the
- 17:47Speaker 2: end or top of something, like a curtain rod or
- 17:49Speaker 2: a bedpost, that little thing, it's like usually beautifully manufactured
- 17:54Speaker 2: or a carpenter does that thing. It's called a finial.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Like the walking stick I got you.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Well, I'd say like on the top of bedposts, man,
- 18:01Speaker 2: you know, like there's a little thing. It looks like
- 18:03Speaker 2: a bulb.
- 18:03Speaker 7: Yes.
- 18:03Speaker 2: And then it's got a little dungachy. Yeah, that's it.
- 18:06Speaker 3: It's got a little what?
- 18:07Speaker 2: See what I'm talking about? It's now called a finial.
- 18:09Speaker 2: The foam that forms on top of fermenting beer is
- 18:11Speaker 2: called balm. And then the upper front part of a
- 18:14Speaker 2: shoe that covers the top of your foot, that's a vamp.
- 18:17Speaker 2: The proper name for that hashtag symbol, the number symbol,
- 18:20Speaker 2: is called an octothorpe. Okay, yeah. And you know that little...
- 18:23Speaker 2: Dunga chi at the end of laces is an aglet,
- 18:25Speaker 2: which I loved when I learned it from a chappies paper.
- 18:28Speaker 2: That's where I learned that. So now you know what
- 18:30Speaker 2: these things are called. So you can remove dungas a
- 18:33Speaker 2: little bit more from your vocabulary if you want to.
- 18:36Speaker 2: It's by my way. It's Tim O. O. D. V.
- 18:39Speaker 2: My name is Carl. This is Cassidy. And there's something
- 18:42Speaker 2: that I want to bring to your attention very quickly.
- 18:43Speaker 2: And I was hoping that we could get some. some
- 18:46Speaker 2: information about it i don't mean to be an investigative
- 18:48Speaker 2: journalist but uh i need to ask people who actually
- 18:51Speaker 2: do stay in this particular area that's caused a little
- 18:54Speaker 2: bit of of commentary and talk around a certain thing
- 18:59Speaker 2: in fact one of the people who live in that
- 19:01Speaker 2: particular area i mean i don't know i wouldn't say
- 19:04Speaker 2: where people live but karen ann and uh i think
- 19:07Speaker 2: pietras as well So I just wanted to ask about
- 19:10Speaker 2: this thing and maybe Karen Anne, you could also give
- 19:12Speaker 2: some insight if you don't mind. Is that okay?
- 19:14Speaker 7: Sure.
- 19:14Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Did I just reveal where you live?
- 19:16Speaker 7: Whoops.
- 19:17Speaker 2: It's fine. You've heard about the story about the humming.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Have you heard about the humming story? Yes, I have.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Have you added, is it part of a bully sometime soon?
- 19:27Speaker 2: Because I know it's been doing the rounds for the
- 19:28Speaker 2: past three months. I'm going to be so honest with you.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Have you not heard the humming? I haven't heard it.
- 19:34Speaker 12: We spoke about it last night and we like, we
- 19:36Speaker 12: haven't heard it.
- 19:38Speaker 2: No, apparently, like, there's even a ward counsellor for Ward 113,
- 19:41Speaker 2: Sue van der Linde, who's received 148 reports of a
- 19:46Speaker 2: certain hum, and there's a WhatsApp group where you can
- 19:49Speaker 2: record and... report. People have been, they're asking all sorts
- 19:53Speaker 2: of people. Apparently, Table View Parklands, Bloberg. You don't live
- 19:56Speaker 2: in any of those areas, I know. But even people
- 19:59Speaker 2: in Mullerton and Edgemead, probably in Burgundy as well, in
- 20:02Speaker 2: those areas, have reported what they would call the humming noise. Now,
- 20:07Speaker 2: in my head, a humming noise would be like, But
- 20:13Speaker 2: everybody I ask about it, they have different accounts of
- 20:16Speaker 2: what the humming noise sounds like in that area. So
- 20:19Speaker 2: I figured the best way to find out and to
- 20:22Speaker 2: find out what it is, I just want to know.
- 20:24Speaker 3: The horse's mouth, right?
- 20:25Speaker 2: Well, I wouldn't call you a horse. But I would
- 20:31Speaker 2: like to hear the real accounts of it. Maybe someone
- 20:34Speaker 2: who could accurately describe it. You see, I live in Paro, okay?
- 20:38Speaker 2: The only humming that I, I don't even hear humming,
- 20:40Speaker 2: all right? I hear people cleaning their briar grids because
- 20:43Speaker 2: they're just right in the front yard. at Sparrow it's
- 20:46Speaker 2: a very different space and place you know like you
- 20:48Speaker 2: can hear the sound of a bucky that's the only
- 20:50Speaker 2: hum that you hear or you hear the sound of
- 20:53Speaker 2: a trolley in the middle of the road at a
- 20:54Speaker 2: certain time of night regularly that's the type of sounds
- 20:57Speaker 2: I hear in my area but the humming is the
- 20:59Speaker 2: thing that I almost feel like I'm missing out on
- 21:01Speaker 2: and I want to get a better definition so you
- 21:03Speaker 2: can confirm that in whichever area you live in not
- 21:05Speaker 2: to be mentioned you haven't heard what people are saying
- 21:09Speaker 2: is humming I.
- 21:09Speaker 12: Think I'm too far away from where the sound is
- 21:13Speaker 12: coming from Okay.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Thank you for that. But we don't know where you live.
- 21:17Speaker 2: That's the most important thing. I know you can't help either, Cassidy.
- 21:20Speaker 3: I really can't.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Because you're very, very far south.
- 21:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I mean, the only humming you hear in your area,
- 21:26Speaker 2: what's the more sounds of your area?
- 21:28Speaker 3: People crunching into gluten-free biscuits.
- 21:31Speaker 2: That makes sense. A lot. That's it.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:34Speaker 2: So they've actually asked the Astron Refinery, pump stations, Potsdam
- 21:38Speaker 2: water treatment plant. They've gone through all of these channels
- 21:41Speaker 2: and they haven't found where this could be coming from.
- 21:45Speaker 2: All we know is that in the groups around those areas,
- 21:48Speaker 2: people have been reporting that they've been hearing this humming sound.
- 21:51Speaker 2: And it's a collective experience. Not one person saying, I've
- 21:54Speaker 2: got tinnitus. Like, no, it's real humming from somewhere. They
- 21:59Speaker 2: just don't know where it is. And I just want
- 22:00Speaker 2: to know what this is all about. So maybe if
- 22:02Speaker 2: you live in the area.
- 22:05Speaker 10: What?
- 22:06Speaker 2: Sorry, I got someone messaging saying in harmonious also. So
- 22:10Speaker 2: now I'm thinking it's an ocean thing.
- 22:12Speaker 3: But then I would hear it.
- 22:13Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Is that not like, doesn't
- 22:15Speaker 2: it sound, if Hermanus is reporting it now as well,
- 22:18Speaker 2: but then you live near an ocean, don't you?
- 22:20Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I would hear it. I go for walks on
- 22:23Speaker 3: the beach every day.
- 22:24Speaker 2: If you've recorded this humming, if you can describe it,
- 22:27Speaker 2: maybe you can hum me the sound of it. I
- 22:29Speaker 2: know it's hum day today, so this is perfect to
- 22:31Speaker 2: talk about. But I'd just like to know a little
- 22:32Speaker 2: bit more. And maybe together as a collective, we can
- 22:35Speaker 2: start getting to the bottom of the options around where
- 22:37Speaker 2: this humming is coming from in that area. The areas
- 22:40Speaker 2: in question are predominantly Table View Parklands and Bloberg. But
- 22:44Speaker 2: what's up? What's the hum? What does it sound like?
- 22:47Speaker 2: Is it actually a hum? Or is it a high pitch?
- 22:49Speaker 2: Is it low pitch?
- 22:49Speaker 9: Is it deep?
- 22:50Speaker 2: Is it bassy? Is it weird?
- 22:51Speaker 1: Is it.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Like, I just need to know what the... what the
- 22:54Speaker 2: vibe is and what time of day do you hear
- 22:57Speaker 2: this thing in.
- 22:57Speaker 4: And even if it's like a sensation of like what's
- 23:00Speaker 4: it high altitude you know when your ears like pop
- 23:03Speaker 4: because it's just that feeling like it's not necessarily a
- 23:06Speaker 4: hum you can't hear.
- 23:07Speaker 3: It but you have to like almost yawn to like
- 23:09Speaker 3: unblock your ears type thing Okay.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I just wanted to find out more. Oh, Marlene says,
- 23:14Speaker 2: play more music, please. Marlene, find a streaming service. Thank you. Anyway, 082-945-0940.
- 23:20Speaker 2: If you've heard the humming, what time of day it is,
- 23:23Speaker 2: et cetera, I'd love to find out. I'm watching the
- 23:25Speaker 2: WhatsApp line. Clearly, that's how I could get Marlene's rude message.
- 23:28Speaker 2: But if you want to add to the humming conversation,
- 23:30Speaker 2: please feel free. You know my number. Now, let's get
- 23:32Speaker 2: on to the humming. I know that there's been reports
- 23:34Speaker 2: of it, and a lot of people have been hearing
- 23:36Speaker 2: it as well. Hello, Adley.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Hi, Paul.
- 23:39Speaker 14: How are you?
- 23:40Speaker 2: Fantastic, man. So check here, brother. I just wanted to
- 23:44Speaker 2: ask you something very quickly, right? Obviously, I don't stay
- 23:47Speaker 2: in the area, so I don't even know what it
- 23:48Speaker 2: sounds like. But do you hear the humming in that area?
- 23:51Speaker 2: Do you stay in the area, Tableview, Mulnerton, Edgewood area?
- 23:56Speaker 16: I work in the early mornings.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I'm there, right? Okay.
- 23:58Speaker 3: And what is the humming? It's not the mm, it's
- 24:01Speaker 3: like a more.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Of a mm.
- 24:03Speaker 10: You know, so it's the vibrations of the ship's motors.
- 24:06Speaker 1: And as soon as the ship is close to the shore.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Then it goes through to.
- 24:11Speaker 3: The ground and it vibrates.
- 24:13Speaker 16: You know, as if they should do boreholes and they
- 24:17Speaker 16: start drilling and then your earthworms, it vibrates and it
- 24:21Speaker 16: comes through.
- 24:22Speaker 14: That's what it does.
- 24:23Speaker 2: So it's like a very dull, like it's a dull hum,
- 24:26Speaker 2: I suppose. Because usually like the humming that I've been
- 24:28Speaker 2: hearing about, a lot of people have been saying it's
- 24:30Speaker 2: kind of like the sort of when you change altitude,
- 24:33Speaker 2: that popping sound in your ears and you get that.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Type of thing.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Okay, I got you. And then what times about, I mean,
- 24:39Speaker 2: do you hear it as well? What times do you
- 24:41Speaker 2: hear it normally?
- 24:43Speaker 17: It will go during the early morning, say from 3
- 24:46Speaker 17: o'clock onwards.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:48Speaker 10: Alright.
- 24:49Speaker 2: I got you. But you think it's like the boats, right?
- 24:52Speaker 2: The boats that are doing their thing, whatever they're up to.
- 24:55Speaker 14: It is the boats.
- 24:56Speaker 8: There's one person that can confirm it maybe.
- 24:58Speaker 3: It will be Mr.
- 25:01Speaker 10: Simpson.
- 25:02Speaker 16: Because he also did one day and it was all
- 25:05Speaker 16: on the radio where the.
- 25:07Speaker 10: Vibration of the engines of the boat.
- 25:09Speaker 2: All right.
- 25:11Speaker 3: And you'll get that sound of army.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I know he lives in that side of the
- 25:13Speaker 2: world as well. But yeah, well, let's see if we
- 25:17Speaker 2: can get to the bottom of this together today. Mariska. Hi, Cole.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So can you agree with that account? Like, do you
- 25:23Speaker 2: think it's the boats or is it something a bit different?
- 25:26Speaker 13: No, I think it's something different.
- 25:28Speaker 2: All right.
- 25:29Speaker 13: I think it is the honeysuckers. I don't know if
- 25:32Speaker 13: people know what that is.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Do you? Help a brother out here? Honeysuckers?
- 25:38Speaker 13: So Honeysuckers is the trucks that pump out the sewage
- 25:42Speaker 13: from the sewage station. So I live in Parklands and
- 25:49Speaker 13: there is a pump station just like 50 meters away
- 25:52Speaker 13: from our complex. And it's happened in the wee hours
- 25:55Speaker 13: of the morning, anything from 12 till 4 o'clock. They
- 25:59Speaker 13: park that thing there and then it goes. It's quite
- 26:03Speaker 13: a high pitch sound. And it goes on for hours.
- 26:06Speaker 2: So your account is high-pitched now? So it's not dull,
- 26:10Speaker 2: it's high-pitched.
- 26:12Speaker 13: So the one that we've been hearing now, I think
- 26:14Speaker 13: it's a pump station close to West Coast Village.
- 26:17Speaker 2: All right.
- 26:18Speaker 13: On the R27, there's a pump station as well. So
- 26:21Speaker 13: I've heard it this morning, Sunday morning, like quarter to three.
- 26:27Speaker 13: So then it sounds very dull because it's quite far away.
- 26:30Speaker 13: So the sound drifts.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Ah, okay.
- 26:34Speaker 13: So if it goes by, it's quite hectic, it's quite high-pitched,
- 26:38Speaker 13: but if it's further away, then you hear that dull
- 26:42Speaker 13: humming sound for hours.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I got you. Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate that,
- 26:48Speaker 2: because I just wanted to find out if I could
- 26:50Speaker 2: get to the bottom of it somehow. So far, because
- 26:53Speaker 2: I know, like Adley mentioned, could be the boats, then
- 26:55Speaker 2: you've got you that has something high-pitched, so I think
- 26:58Speaker 2: the accounts of it and the way people experience it
- 27:00Speaker 2: are quite different, so There needs to be a little
- 27:03Speaker 2: bit of a something connected to that. But thanks for sharing, Mariska.
- 27:05Speaker 2: And I mean, is it a bothersome sound, something that,
- 27:08Speaker 2: or is this something that is not?
- 27:10Speaker 3: Extremely.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Okay, cool.
- 27:11Speaker 12: Extremely.
- 27:12Speaker 4: All right.
- 27:12Speaker 13: So, I mean, if it's close to my house, usually
- 27:15Speaker 13: they put some different pump or something in there and
- 27:18Speaker 13: everything starts to shake.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Whoa. Okay.
- 27:22Speaker 13: And like I said, this is the one year it's
- 27:23Speaker 13: very close. It's 50 meters away. So, if you're so close,
- 27:27Speaker 13: you can forget about sleeping for three hours.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Oh, my word. Okay, well, that's a massive problem. I'm
- 27:33Speaker 2: going to try and see if we can get some
- 27:34Speaker 2: answers for you as well while we are just having
- 27:36Speaker 2: this conversation. But the Humming, TableView, Mullerton area, it's becoming
- 27:41Speaker 2: quite an issue for a lot of people on that side.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I can't particularly give you an account of it as well.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Some people say it sounds like a drone. Thank you
- 27:48Speaker 2: to Sky, I message that as well. There's another account
- 27:51Speaker 2: over here from Lauren.
- 27:52Speaker 9: Hi, Carl.
- 27:53Speaker 14: I am in TableView.
- 27:55Speaker 9: I definitely heard the humming sound, but I feel like
- 27:57Speaker 9: it was two weeks ago. It sounded like a mosquito.
- 28:00Speaker 9: So that's why I woke up. Yeah, a very loud mosquito.
- 28:06Speaker 9: And we investigated. My husband and I walked outside with
- 28:08Speaker 9: torches and we realized that it's actually a sound that's
- 28:14Speaker 9: in the area, not in the house. Hope that helps.
- 28:17Speaker 2: You know what? Everything helps. Everything does help. And I
- 28:20Speaker 2: know there was another account from somebody that said... Do
- 28:23Speaker 2: they check underground? It's got to be something. It feels
- 28:26Speaker 2: like it's a lot bigger than people say. Another message
- 28:30Speaker 2: came through. The humming sound comes from the frequency when
- 28:33Speaker 2: LED lights are implemented or replaced. This person says they
- 28:37Speaker 2: believe it could be the N7 area where the new
- 28:41Speaker 2: LED streetlights have been added. Very, very interesting stuff. Another,
- 28:47Speaker 2: apparently there are some, I'm going to say loud noises
- 28:51Speaker 2: speakers in a certain area as well and it's the
- 28:55Speaker 2: the account that i got on the whatsapp line is
- 28:56Speaker 2: there could be like a cable that's shorting so that
- 28:58Speaker 2: you're getting the constant hum through the loud speakers but
- 29:02Speaker 2: i think the person that's been really at the helm
- 29:03Speaker 2: of investigating it is a certain counselor sue funder linda
- 29:07Speaker 2: who was very happy to message me sue i did
- 29:09Speaker 2: not do you listen to the show thank you.
- 29:13Speaker 10: Hi, Carl.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Hello.
- 29:14Speaker 10: I don't miss it.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Oh, yes. Thank you. I'm honored, actually. And I know
- 29:18Speaker 2: that you've also started your investigations into this because a
- 29:21Speaker 2: lot of people have been complaining. And, of course, to
- 29:23Speaker 2: you as the ward counsellor, you've got a lot of
- 29:26Speaker 2: reports that you've had to deal with. And you've even
- 29:28Speaker 2: started a WhatsApp line so people can report and record.
- 29:30Speaker 2: So what are your findings thus far about this? Because
- 29:33Speaker 2: as you can hear from the show, there are a
- 29:35Speaker 2: lot of different accounts. People are saying boats in the ocean, hyper.
- 29:40Speaker 2: then low pitch things underground LED lights are we closer
- 29:44Speaker 2: to an answer.
- 29:46Speaker 10: We are definitely getting closer the group has really helped
- 29:50Speaker 10: thank you to everybody who's posted the recordings on there
- 29:53Speaker 10: and filled out the polls so we've managed to we're
- 29:57Speaker 10: trying to basically triangulate the sound It's a very low-density sound.
- 30:02Speaker 10: I can tell you that it's not the honeysuckers, exactly
- 30:05Speaker 10: what the caller said. That's a very high-pitched sound. Unfortunately,
- 30:09Speaker 10: when we have clogs at pump stations, we have to
- 30:13Speaker 10: bring honeysuckers in. We also have a maintenance crew that
- 30:17Speaker 10: does wet well cleaning, which is something quite similar. But
- 30:21Speaker 10: they don't add up to the same thing as the sound.
- 30:24Speaker 10: The sound is consistent. The pollers are telling me it's
- 30:28Speaker 10: Monday to Sunday. We don't pump at pump stations Monday
- 30:31Speaker 10: to Sunday. The time, definitely 3 a.m. in the morning
- 30:35Speaker 10: to 5 a.m. But if you think about it, that's
- 30:37Speaker 10: when a lot of the ambient sound is no longer around.
- 30:40Speaker 10: It's still. So that sound is going to travel. Okay.
- 30:43Speaker 10: So we got a very good lead in today. It
- 30:47Speaker 10: happened about eight years ago, and the residents of Edgemeat
- 30:50Speaker 10: were also really battling with it. And it turned out
- 30:53Speaker 10: to be... industrial area. So myself and my colleague Nicholas
- 31:00Speaker 10: Gotzel are going to be setting our alarms and we're
- 31:03Speaker 10: going to be out patrolling the areas at 3am tomorrow
- 31:08Speaker 10: morning and we're going to try our very best to locate.
- 31:11Speaker 10: It does make sense. We think it may be a
- 31:14Speaker 10: production line that's running and it's being covered up by
- 31:18Speaker 10: normal sounds during the day but obviously at that very
- 31:20Speaker 10: quiet time That's where the sound is coming from. So
- 31:24Speaker 10: we're starting there. We're not ruling out anything. We will
- 31:27Speaker 10: get to the bottom of it. It's just going to
- 31:29Speaker 10: take some legwork and some investigative work. But the residents
- 31:33Speaker 10: have been amazing. They're all reporting. We are getting closer
- 31:37Speaker 10: to it. We don't believe it is a ship.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Okay, so the theories of ships, honeysuckers, that you can
- 31:44Speaker 2: confirm that's not the case?
- 31:46Speaker 10: No, that's not the case.
- 31:48Speaker 2: All right. And I know there are also some accounts
- 31:50Speaker 2: of people saying that there may be at least one
- 31:53Speaker 2: taxi operating in that area with a base bin that
- 31:57Speaker 2: could be one of them. But, of course, that's something
- 32:00Speaker 2: you're ruling out as well, correct? Yes.
- 32:04Speaker 10: We don't think it's one taxi. He would have to
- 32:06Speaker 10: be driving all over the place and quite aimlessly, actually.
- 32:09Speaker 10: But it's that type of sound. It's a really deep,
- 32:12Speaker 10: low pitch to it. And it's irritating for people. Otherwise,
- 32:15Speaker 10: they wouldn't be reporting it.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I've got a couple of messages that came through, some
- 32:19Speaker 2: people who have recorded the sound. I'll play that later.
- 32:21Speaker 2: But thank you so much for keeping me updated on
- 32:23Speaker 2: the investigation. It's going to happen tomorrow morning, so good
- 32:26Speaker 2: luck with your sleep schedule. But I really hope that
- 32:29Speaker 2: when you find an answer, do you mind messaging back in?
- 32:32Speaker 2: Since you do listen to the show, I'm very impressed.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Thank you very much. But I'd like to get some
- 32:35Speaker 2: answers to our good people in TableView and Mullington.
- 32:39Speaker 10: Absolutely. I'll let you know, Carl.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Thank you so much, Councillor Sue van der Linde. Also
- 32:43Speaker 2: set up a WhatsApp line if you've got any accounts.
- 32:44Speaker 2: You can send them my way too, and we'll get
- 32:46Speaker 2: to the bottom of it. But as you can hear,
- 32:48Speaker 2: some of the theories that you've put down, those have
- 32:50Speaker 2: been quelled. It's now about the investigation, whatever they find there.
- 32:53Speaker 2: And when they get an answer to me, you'll get
- 32:55Speaker 2: it too. A little earlier, we chatted about the hum
- 32:58Speaker 2: that you've been hearing in Tableview and Moulton. And I
- 33:00Speaker 2: didn't even know what it sounds like. Finally, someone sent
- 33:03Speaker 2: me A little recording of what this sounds like, because
- 33:05Speaker 2: I'd like to know, and I think anybody else out
- 33:07Speaker 2: of the area would like to know what it sounds like.
- 33:09Speaker 2: So I'm going to play this for you. This came
- 33:11Speaker 2: from Ryan. Ryan's actually been part of a Reddit thread,
- 33:15Speaker 2: and somebody from the area posted up and saying, are
- 33:17Speaker 2: you hearing this too? So beyond our counsellor, Sufanda Linda,
- 33:21Speaker 2: putting together WhatsApp reports about the humming sound that's been
- 33:24Speaker 2: heard in the early hours of the morning in that area,
- 33:26Speaker 2: this is what it sounds like. So can you imagine
- 33:30Speaker 2: living in those areas and hearing this in the distance
- 33:32Speaker 2: or even close by? Listen to this very carefully. I
- 33:36Speaker 2: try to increase the audio so you get a good
- 33:38Speaker 2: idea as to what it sounds like.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Sounds like someone's like mowing their lawn, like three houses down.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Or it's that the person that didn't get the original Dyson,
- 34:08Speaker 2: they got like the brand below. And then that also sounds...
- 34:12Speaker 2: it sounds like a weed eater too. If you listen
- 34:14Speaker 2: to that, there's a lot of like comparisons, but shame
- 34:17Speaker 2: and people are really struggling to imagine you close to that.
- 34:21Speaker 2: That would be terrible. So, uh, thanks a lot for,
- 34:24Speaker 2: I mean, it also, it sounds, and even for me,
- 34:27Speaker 2: if I listened to that, I can hear how people get,
- 34:29Speaker 2: it could be like something on the ocean, like a boat, right? Uh,
- 34:32Speaker 2: I can also hear electrical in a way. If you
- 34:35Speaker 2: listen to it very carefully, like there's something about it
- 34:37Speaker 2: that's That's crazy. Anyway, investigations are underway. And apparently there
- 34:53Speaker 2: are reports of it in Hermanus, even in Rylance. I
- 34:56Speaker 2: just got it as well. That's quite inland. So there
- 34:58Speaker 2: are a couple of accounts. But thank you very much
- 34:59Speaker 2: for sharing your accounts. The investigation is underway. So as
- 35:03Speaker 2: soon as we know if there is an answer, they
- 35:06Speaker 2: can come through and message us from their investigation. And
- 35:10Speaker 2: I can give you some answers very quickly.
- 35:12Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Sean Kingston, fire burning on the flash drive in KFM 94.5.
- 35:17Speaker 2: A little earlier, I played you the humming sound that
- 35:20Speaker 2: was recorded in the Molotov table of the area. This
- 35:23Speaker 2: is the flash drive, by the way. Councillor Sue van
- 35:25Speaker 2: der Linde are going to do some, her and her team,
- 35:27Speaker 2: they're going to do some investigation this evening. Well, actually,
- 35:30Speaker 2: early hours tomorrow morning, in fact, to see what they
- 35:32Speaker 2: can do. But thank you very much for sharing all
- 35:34Speaker 2: of the accounts of it and the recordings. I don't
- 35:38Speaker 2: mean to do this to you again, but it sounds
- 35:40Speaker 2: like this. This is what we got. Apparently, it sounds
- 35:42Speaker 2: like this. And already there have been some speculations on
- 35:49Speaker 2: what it could be, including this one that came through.
- 35:52Speaker 9: It sounds like the spray carts that we have on
- 35:55Speaker 9: the farm that.
- 35:56Speaker 5: Go from early morning right through the night.
- 36:00Speaker 2: You see there's one there. There's another one. Hi, Cole. Hi, Cassidy. Cole,
- 36:07Speaker 2: why did you have to play that sound? I stay
- 36:09Speaker 2: in table view and I hate that sound. And I've
- 36:11Speaker 2: got that sound stuck in my inner ear. I can
- 36:13Speaker 2: hear it inside my inner ear now. Sorry, Cameron, I apologize.
- 36:17Speaker 2: And then this one came through as well.
- 36:20Speaker 16: A factory making use of big diesel generators. I'm actually
- 36:25Speaker 16: in the industry and we have done big projects for really,
- 36:31Speaker 16: really big generators.
- 36:33Speaker 2: And it.
- 36:36Speaker 16: Sounds like it could be something like that, that they're
- 36:38Speaker 16: using at night for their production.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Well, there we go. The speculation continues, but as soon
- 36:43Speaker 2: as I know some concrete answers, I'm going to let
- 36:45Speaker 2: you know. It's as simple as that. Concept time. Hello, Carmen. Hello. Carmen,
- 36:51Speaker 2: you've been listening very carefully to all of my words, eh?
- 36:54Speaker 2: I have been there. And your detective work is working.
- 36:57Speaker 2: And you could find yourself at the Grand Hotel in Robertson,
- 36:59Speaker 2: valued at $ 10, 000. It's a two-night stay. It's got dinner.
- 37:02Speaker 2: It's got bed, breakfast. It's going to be beautiful. Five-star
- 37:05Speaker 2: boutique hotel. You could be staying there. You could be
- 37:07Speaker 2: winning it here on the show. But first, you have
- 37:09Speaker 2: to guess. In fact, you have to... Answer the question.
- 37:13Speaker 6: Did I guess?
- 37:15Speaker 3: You're asking me nonsense?
- 37:17Speaker 9: Tell me again.
- 37:20Speaker 2: You just needed an intro. Now you can answer. Carmen,
- 37:22Speaker 2: now we've got a couple of incorrect guesses, including device, hue, date, school, year,
- 37:28Speaker 2: new year, in fact, birthday, confungus, jay, dry, cold, all incorrect.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Hopefully you have some new answers for me. Here are
- 37:35Speaker 2: your two single word clues. First one comes from Cassidy
- 37:38Speaker 2: Jade Nicholson.
- 37:39Speaker 3: How's about the word.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Hello, can I just interject here? Thanks for clicking on
- 37:44Speaker 2: the podcast and supporting the flash drive. You can't get
- 37:47Speaker 2: the concept words here. You're gonna have to listen to
- 37:49Speaker 2: them live a little later. I still love you though. Okay,
- 37:53Speaker 2: good luck. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I know you were
- 37:59Speaker 2: certain of that, but okay. I'm sorry.
- 38:01Speaker 7: Okay.
- 38:01Speaker 2: I don't like giving you a no like that. And
- 38:03Speaker 2: the worst thing is that my word for you is no. No,
- 38:09Speaker 2: it's no. She gave you a word and my word
- 38:12Speaker 2: is no.
- 38:13Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 38:14Speaker 2: You should know this by now.
- 38:18Speaker 9: Ferrari.
- 38:19Speaker 17: Ferrari.
- 38:19Speaker 2: I love a Ferrari.
- 38:23Speaker 3: That was my second guess.
- 38:24Speaker 2: It's a no, though. Sorry. But, Carmen, you are great.
- 38:29Speaker 2: I love your energy. And please keep on trying. You
- 38:31Speaker 2: never know when you're going to get a call from
- 38:33Speaker 2: us again to try it out. If you have any
- 38:35Speaker 2: idea what this could be, please let us know. 0829450940.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Keyword concept. Lynn Jacobs, welcome back to your throne, my lady.
- 38:49Speaker 10: Hi, Carl.
- 38:50Speaker 5: How are you?
- 38:51Speaker 2: Phenoms. Always. So representing Kensington once again today, I wanted
- 38:56Speaker 2: to wish you the best of luck. Today is going
- 38:58Speaker 2: to be a liquor challenge for you, but over to
- 39:00Speaker 2: your opponent.
- 39:00Speaker 10: You're making me really nervous.
- 39:01Speaker 2: That's fine. Benny was also nervous that one time when
- 39:05Speaker 2: he rapped on that TKZ track. Okay, we all get nervous,
- 39:08Speaker 2: and it's good. It means we care, and I'm glad
- 39:10Speaker 2: you care, Lynn. Someone else who cares is your opponent. Hello, Cornelio. Hi, Cornelio. Hello. Okay,
- 39:17Speaker 2: let me try that again. The signal dropped a bit.
- 39:20Speaker 2: There we go. Can I say hi? There we go.
- 39:25Speaker 2: There we go.
- 39:26Speaker 1: All right.
- 39:26Speaker 2: We are almost there. Almost. Okay.
- 39:29Speaker 10: Great.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Corne just um stand by for a challenge lynn would
- 39:32Speaker 2: you like to go first or second first please first
- 39:35Speaker 2: no problem today your flash word is nine nine yeah Okay.
- 39:45Speaker 2: You don't sound so confident.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Okay.
- 39:47Speaker 2: No, it's nine. So remember, nine can be the number
- 39:50Speaker 2: nine or it could even be N-I-N-E. It's just nine.
- 39:54Speaker 2: You'll find it in so many different places. You just
- 39:57Speaker 2: have to figure it out. It's going to be fun.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Trust me. And I think this may be a little
- 40:01Speaker 2: tougher in terms of the mind, but I think you're
- 40:04Speaker 2: going to be fine. Once you hear the questions, you're
- 40:07Speaker 2: going to get it. Are you ready?
- 40:09Speaker 7: Okay.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Nine is the flash word. Exciting times ahead. Good luck
- 40:15Speaker 2: to you. Your time begins in three, two, one. Let's roll.
- 40:22Speaker 2: The year South Africa won their first rugby World Cup.
- 40:30Speaker 2: I'll move on. The myth about cats. The approximate amount
- 40:37Speaker 2: of days in three months. 29. An American police sitcom.
- 40:46Speaker 11: What's the name?
- 40:47Speaker 2: I don't know. Beverly... I told you it's going to
- 40:54Speaker 2: be a challenge. Oh, my word. All right. The year
- 40:58Speaker 2: SA won their first Rugby World Cup is 1995. The
- 41:02Speaker 2: myth about cats spot on nine lives. Approximate amount of
- 41:05Speaker 2: days in three months.
- 41:06Speaker 9: 90.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Oh, three months.
- 41:09Speaker 14: Oh, 90.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah, you knew that. An American police sitcom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
- 41:14Speaker 2: And then the last one, I couldn't get to the
- 41:16Speaker 2: full one, but I'm going to do that for you anyway.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Beverly Hills, California, zip code. Look at you go, girlfriend.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Well done. Hey, we don't care about the scores here.
- 41:25Speaker 2: We care about the courage. Corneille, are you ready for
- 41:28Speaker 2: your shot? Yes, I'm all ready. Good luck. First time
- 41:32Speaker 2: playing Flashwood. Flashwood's nine. Your time begins in three, two, one.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Let's go. The year of Bafana Bafana's first World Cup appearance.
- 41:42Speaker 8: 99.
- 41:45Speaker 2: The dog species.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Nine.
- 41:54Speaker 14: I don't know.
- 41:56Speaker 2: A prince song.
- 42:02Speaker 7: North Purple right now.
- 42:05Speaker 2: KFM's Joburg sister station.
- 42:10Speaker 10: Time. Woo!
- 42:12Speaker 2: The challenge was on today. Let's get to all of
- 42:15Speaker 2: your answers. Bafana Bafana's first World Cup appearance. Interesting that
- 42:18Speaker 2: I mentioned Benny in the beginning of this call. 1998.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Dog species. Canine. America's emergency number.
- 42:27Speaker 10: 9-1-1.
- 42:30Speaker 2: KFM's Joburg sister station, 947. A Prince song, 1999. Thank
- 42:37Speaker 2: you for playing, Cornel. You're an absolute star, my welder
- 42:40Speaker 2: from George. Lynn, because you got one answer, by the
- 42:47Speaker 2: skin of your teeth, as they say, back tomorrow to
- 42:51Speaker 2: defend your title. I know it was a tough day
- 42:54Speaker 2: at the office, but you still got through. I'm proud
- 42:55Speaker 2: of you, Lynn. Chat to you tomorrow.
- 42:57Speaker 10: Thanks, Paul.
- 42:58Speaker 2: The liquor man. That's Lynn. Take her on. Same time,
- 43:00Speaker 2: same space.
- 43:01Speaker 10: Annoying.
- 43:02Speaker 4: And judging by the way you look tonight and every
- 43:03Speaker 4: other night when I tell you, you're growing more and
- 43:05Speaker 4: more frustrated. But it will all work out and have
- 43:08Speaker 4: you feeling good if you just apply the four-way stop rule.
- 43:11Speaker 3: My name is Cassidy Nicholson.
- 43:13Speaker 4: And if I can just ask you a favor before
- 43:14Speaker 4: you arrive home and get into those spicy margaritas, show
- 43:17Speaker 4: me how much crazy love you have for me by
- 43:19Speaker 4: leaving me a traffic update on the WhatsApp line.
- 43:22Speaker 2: That's 082-945-0940.
- 43:28Speaker 12: Good afternoon, my name is Karen Ann Nel. The DA
- 43:32Speaker 12: has applied to intervene in a case that was brought
- 43:35Speaker 12: to the election by the ANC by the party's request
- 43:38Speaker 12: to appoint candidates for municipal elections. The DA says spare
- 43:43Speaker 12: dates must be respected and rules are rules. The ANC
- 43:47Speaker 12: claims technical problems have slipped in. wat daartoe geleid dat

- 44:04Speaker 12: Union for All Sectors, NUVAS, zei zou Morris staken over

- 44:17Speaker 12: ingesteld is, heeft geleid tot de onbillijke afdanking van leden

- 44:59Speaker 12: Just like your Whiff Story, the DAA has invested its
- 45:01Speaker 12: efforts to intervene in a case that was brought by
- 45:04Speaker 12: the ANC at the Kieshof, Good afternoon, I'm Kieran Thompson.
- 45:07Speaker 12: We get started in Windhoek, where the Proteus set Namibia
- 45:09Speaker 12: 349 runs to chase in their three-match ODI series opener.
- 45:16Speaker 7: Jordan Herman topscored with 150 runs, while Tony Dezorzi chipped
- 45:20Speaker 7: in with 72 runs. Now the contest was reduced to
- 45:32Speaker 7: 38 overs and Namibia's target was revised to 301 after
- 45:37Speaker 7: rain stopped play in the 22nd over. The players did
- 45:39Speaker 7: eventually get back on the park with Corbin Bosch taking
- 45:42Speaker 7: a wicket before the heavens opened up once more. Play
- 45:45Speaker 7: resumed at quarter past five with a new revised target
- 45:48Speaker 7: of 262 with that innings now being reduced to 31 runs.
- 45:52Speaker 7: They are still on the park and currently Namibia are
- 45:55Speaker 7: 121 for 6. needing 141 runs from 19 balls, so
- 45:59Speaker 7: it looks like South Africa will be cruising to victory
- 46:02Speaker 7: over there shortly. Up and under two, rugby's greatest rivalry now,
- 46:05Speaker 7: where the Springboks lead the All Blacks by two wins
- 46:08Speaker 7: to one, heading into the Battle of Baltimore this weekend.
- 46:11Speaker 7: New Zealand will be without influential skipper Adi Savio on Saturday,
- 46:15Speaker 7: and Jasper Visser had this to say about whether or
- 46:17Speaker 7: not New Zealand might change their approach.
- 46:20Speaker 5: Adi is a massive pillar in their team, and obviously
- 46:24Speaker 5: the the captain that was named at the start of
- 46:26Speaker 5: the series. But I don't think our preparation changes much.
- 46:31Speaker 5: The other loose forts that are there, in my experience,
- 46:34Speaker 5: are just as experienced as he is. And they've played
- 46:37Speaker 5: in big games as well. I think in big games,
- 46:40Speaker 5: those guys will step up as well. So I think
- 46:42Speaker 5: the same respect goes whether he plays or not.
- 46:45Speaker 7: To the world of football now, where matchday one of
- 46:47Speaker 7: the UEFA Champions League continues tonight, with the action kicking
- 46:50Speaker 7: back into action at court to seven. as FC Barcelona
- 46:54Speaker 7: host Dutch outfit Feyenoord. Some intriguing ties to look forward
- 46:57Speaker 7: to at 9pm, as Napoli host Arsenal at the Stadio
- 47:01Speaker 7: Diego Armando Maradona in Naples. No Scott McTominay for the Italians,
- 47:05Speaker 7: after he recently underwent a minor procedure for an irregular heartbeat,
- 47:09Speaker 7: but he's set to return to training in the next
- 47:11Speaker 7: two weeks. Elsewhere, Liverpool host Atletico Madrid at Anfield, while
- 47:15Speaker 7: holders Paris Saint-Germain welcome Slovan Bratislava to the Parc des Princes.
- 47:20Speaker 7: and Sporting Lisbon host Galatasaray. Those fixtures once again kick
- 47:24Speaker 7: off at 9 p.m. And we cross the finish line
- 47:27Speaker 7: with Bayanda Walaza as the South African sprinting sensation delivered
- 47:31Speaker 7: a blistering performance on the track once again to win
- 47:33Speaker 7: the men's 100-meter at the Rovereto International meeting in Italy
- 47:38Speaker 7: last night. The 20-year-old clocked a time of 9.91 seconds
- 47:42Speaker 7: and set a new meeting record in the process. Kieran Thompson,
- 47:46Speaker 7: Eyewitness News Sport.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Hello, Cindy.
- 47:49Speaker 9: Michael.
- 47:50Speaker 6: Hi, Cassidy. Hi.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Sundy, you heard Cassidy's traffic and there was some references
- 47:56Speaker 2: to a certain birthday person. Who was it?
- 47:59Speaker 8: It's my boyfriend, Michael Bublé.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Oh, I forgot. I'm so sorry. How is your man doing?
- 48:05Speaker 8: Well, he's well, but I didn't speak to him in
- 48:10Speaker 8: a while because my husband said I need to stop.
- 48:12Speaker 6: You know what I mean?
- 48:13Speaker 2: Oh, but I mean, just.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Fair request.
- 48:16Speaker 2: I mean, it's a suggestion from your husband. That's all.
- 48:19Speaker 8: It's a kind suggestion.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's okay. If it's in the DMs,
- 48:23Speaker 2: it doesn't count. Do you know, Moise?
- 48:25Speaker 13: No, it always counts.
- 48:29Speaker 2: No, it's all good. Yeah, Michael Bublé is 100% correct. Yes.
- 48:35Speaker 2: And is it his birthday today?
- 48:36Speaker 3: Don't do this. You always make me doubt myself.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Birds flying high. You know how I feel.
- 48:43Speaker 3: Wait, hold on. We appreciate your call.
- 48:46Speaker 2: We appreciate your call. Wait, I hear the husband in
- 48:49Speaker 2: the background. I'm sorry. Sir, I'm sorry. I didn't mean
- 48:51Speaker 2: to do that. Apologies. I'm not Michael Bublé. She is
- 48:55Speaker 2: not chasing me, sir.
- 48:56Speaker 16: Sorry.
- 48:57Speaker 9: Yes.
- 48:58Speaker 6: My husband's not with me, but he's listening.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 49:00Speaker 10: Oh.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Oh, dear. What's your husband's name?
- 49:03Speaker 8: My husband's name is Ethan.
- 49:05Speaker 13: I love him.
- 49:06Speaker 8: Show him this.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Ethan, you're gorgeous. Ethan, love you. Best looking man, Ethan.
- 49:12Speaker 2: You have nothing... Yes?
- 49:13Speaker 12: Did I?
- 49:13Speaker 10: No, I....
- 49:20Speaker 2: I had to say that because you were looking at
- 49:21Speaker 2: me in a certain way and I got scared.
- 49:23Speaker 10: So I.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Oh, Cindy, you. You are just the tonic. Anyway, yes. So, Bublé.
- 49:34Speaker 5: Birthday.
- 49:34Speaker 3: Yes, Bublé today.
- 49:35Speaker 2: All the references you had.
- 49:37Speaker 4: So, I have feeling good, home, haven't met you yet, everything, sway,
- 49:42Speaker 4: spicy margarita, put your head on my shoulder, crazy love,
- 49:46Speaker 4: the way you look tonight.
- 49:48Speaker 2: There we go. All those things that you said to
- 49:50Speaker 2: him are his song titles. Anyway... You have a wonderful day.
- 49:54Speaker 2: And I'd like to play a Michael Bublé song just
- 49:56Speaker 2: for you. We need to pick one together. Let's play one.
- 49:59Speaker 2: You know, like, I'm going to play a nice one. Like,
- 50:01Speaker 2: are you on your way home? Like, haven't met you
- 50:03Speaker 2: yet would be a nice one. Because I think you
- 50:05Speaker 2: may have not met him yet.
- 50:08Speaker 4: That's fine.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 50:09Speaker 8: All right. I can do that for you.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Do you love Home? Okay, I'm going to play Home
- 50:24Speaker 2: for you because it's a beautiful song. It's warm. It's
- 50:26Speaker 2: like a hug from Michael Bublé. So I'm going to
- 50:28Speaker 2: play that for you. Cindy, thank you very much. And
- 50:30Speaker 2: happy birthday, Michael Bublé. Just a quick thing, Cassidy. You
- 50:33Speaker 2: may not know this about Michael Bublé and I.
- 50:36Speaker 3: What?
- 50:37Speaker 2: It's what I always say. Excuse me, say again. Try again,
- 50:42Speaker 2: this time in English. We are what? Say it loudly
- 50:47Speaker 2: for Cindy.
- 50:48Speaker 3: No, I don't believe you though. So I'm not going
- 50:51Speaker 3: to say it loudly.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Allow me to give you a recording of the conversation
- 50:54Speaker 2: between Michael Bublé and I. I love doing this with you.
- 50:59Speaker 2: It's the best. So Michael Bublé and I, we had
- 51:01Speaker 2: a chat. We were talking about just normal things and
- 51:05Speaker 2: we actually forgot it was an interview because Michael Bublé
- 51:08Speaker 2: ended up interviewing me.
- 51:09Speaker 3: Diva, please.
- 51:11Speaker 2: So I'll just give you a little clip. This video
- 51:13Speaker 2: is somewhere on the interwebs. It was kind of, what,
- 51:15Speaker 2: a while ago, but it doesn't mean that because time
- 51:18Speaker 2: has passed that Michael Bublé and I are not still tight.
- 51:20Speaker 2: We're still very close. We still follow each other on Instagram,
- 51:24Speaker 2: still like each other's posts. You know, we still have
- 51:25Speaker 2: a good relationship. But this is one of the conversations
- 51:28Speaker 2: that we had that was just so powerful because we
- 51:32Speaker 2: kind of speak the same language in terms of our
- 51:35Speaker 2: impression of our industry and how we kind of move
- 51:41Speaker 2: in this industry and the importance of it. Do you
- 51:44Speaker 2: not believe me that we're best friends?
- 51:46Speaker 10: No.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 51:47Speaker 10: Okay.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Michael Bublé, it's so great to chat to you. I've
- 51:50Speaker 2: been a massive fan for a long time.
- 51:51Speaker 10: Can I ask you something?
- 51:52Speaker 2: You may.
- 51:53Speaker 15: So you were talking about how radio personalities, they speak to.
- 51:57Speaker 15: So was it something that you, like when you were
- 52:00Speaker 15: a kid, did you practice it?
- 52:02Speaker 2: Did it come natural for you? I believe that the
- 52:04Speaker 2: key to authenticity... is the bravery to be yourself. Whenever
- 52:07Speaker 2: a young person comes to me and says, Carl, I
- 52:10Speaker 2: hear you on radio all the time. I see you
- 52:11Speaker 2: in TV in South Africa. How do you do this?
- 52:13Speaker 2: I'll just say to them that the key is, I
- 52:17Speaker 2: always tell young people to study themselves.
- 52:19Speaker 10: You know, you said.
- 52:19Speaker 15: Something interesting about, you said the screen, you said the
- 52:22Speaker 15: important screen, the screen that you're looking at yourself.
- 52:25Speaker 2: And I say the same thing. I just say it
- 52:26Speaker 2: in a different way.
- 52:27Speaker 15: I want to make sure that everybody in the room
- 52:29Speaker 15: is good and comfortable and feels happy. And it's like
- 52:31Speaker 15: always my goal, whether it's at a five-person dinner party
- 52:34Speaker 15: or 80,000 people, it's the same thing.
- 52:36Speaker 2: I think there was a reason why you told me this,
- 52:38Speaker 2: because perhaps you recognize a similar behavior in... The person
- 52:41Speaker 2: who is supposed to be interviewing you this evening that
- 52:43Speaker 2: turns out to be just having a nice psychological conversation.
- 52:46Speaker 2: But I think you can pick it up.
- 52:48Speaker 15: I can tell because of the way that when I
- 52:50Speaker 15: asked you the question of what you would tell people, obviously,
- 52:52Speaker 15: you've already told.
- 52:53Speaker 2: People this is something that you care about. And you
- 52:56Speaker 2: don't have to know them.
- 52:56Speaker 15: They can be a stranger off the street. But how
- 52:58Speaker 15: they feel is important to you for sure.
- 53:00Speaker 2: I'll be honest with you.
- 53:01Speaker 15: This is the second interview I've done today. This is
- 53:03Speaker 15: two of the greatest interviews I've ever had to start
- 53:06Speaker 15: a day because both of them were conversational. Both of
- 53:09Speaker 15: them were really nice. You forget that there's people that
- 53:14Speaker 15: will be listening and watching, you know, and that's a
- 53:16Speaker 15: nice feeling. I want to say thank you to you
- 53:18Speaker 15: for having this beautiful conversation with me.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Thank you, Michael. Cassidy, over to you.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Big whoop. You know how to use chat GPT.
- 53:27Speaker 2: What?
- 53:27Speaker 6: You AI'd Michael Bubble to be your best friend.
- 53:31Speaker 10: Really?
- 53:32Speaker 6: AI is rife.
- 53:34Speaker 3: In the studio.
- 53:34Speaker 2: You know, that's so terrible that you would think that.
- 53:37Speaker 2: I can't believe you would resort.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Send him a WhatsApp. Send him a WhatsApp.
- 53:41Speaker 9: Now I dare you.
- 53:42Speaker 2: That's fine. Someone else says, Carl, that sounds like AI.
- 53:44Speaker 2: You know, the problem is, right? The problem is that
- 53:47Speaker 2: all of my, you know, legitimate interviews, if you play
- 53:49Speaker 2: it out, everybody thinks everything is AI.
- 53:52Speaker 4: Listen, the only one who I kind of don't think
- 53:54Speaker 4: is AI is... is Ed Sheeran because you've got him.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Going, Yes.
- 53:59Speaker 4: And that, I just feel like AI.
- 54:02Speaker 3: Wouldn't be able to do.
- 54:02Speaker 2: If you do your due diligence on the interwebs, or
- 54:05Speaker 2: in fact, why don't you use AI to establish the
- 54:08Speaker 2: legitimacy of that interview with Michael Bublé, I think you
- 54:11Speaker 2: may just find something good. And while you do the search,
- 54:14Speaker 2: let me get you home.
- 54:17Speaker 3: Thanks to Lottoland on KFM 94.5.
- 54:18Speaker 10: Octavia. Oh my word, hello!
- 54:26Speaker 2: Hello, Octavia. So I got your message about why you
- 54:30Speaker 2: need a break and I see that you're part of a,
- 54:32Speaker 2: I believe, a certain library. Is that correct?
- 54:37Speaker 8: Yes, that is correct. I'm a librarian, yes.
- 54:39Speaker 2: Oh, I love librarians. Are you reading anything yourself at
- 54:43Speaker 2: the moment?
- 54:46Speaker 8: Yes, I read such a lot, but yes, I am
- 54:49Speaker 8: reading books. And I'm so busy with programs and things.
- 54:53Speaker 8: You know, we're not anymore the librarian with glasses and
- 54:57Speaker 8: just reading in the library with books. We are doing
- 55:00Speaker 8: so much more than just library work.
- 55:02Speaker 2: I know, I know. There's not just Dewey system. There's
- 55:05Speaker 2: the doing system where you just go do things in
- 55:07Speaker 2: the community. All right, Octavia, you're part of the Santa
- 55:11Speaker 2: Carl Library. And I believe that you do work on Saturdays.
- 55:16Speaker 2: And the idea here is that you need to get
- 55:18Speaker 2: me to call your boss. in order for me to
- 55:22Speaker 2: get you off on one of those Saturdays. Is that correct?
- 55:26Speaker 8: Yes, that is true.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Okay. We're going to try. I usually try to aim
- 55:30Speaker 2: for 25 September, because you know 24 September is Mr.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Public Holiday, and then 25 September is that Friday, and
- 55:35Speaker 2: there's like a long weekend opportunity there. Are you working
- 55:38Speaker 2: on the 26th, by the way? Do you know to
- 55:41Speaker 2: your knowledge?
- 55:42Speaker 8: To my knowledge, on that Saturday, I'm working. Okay, so
- 55:46Speaker 8: maybe I can get you the Friday off then and
- 55:49Speaker 8: then we can make it work.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Is that fine?
- 56:00Speaker 8: That will be so great.
- 56:02Speaker 2: Okay, tell me about your, the boss I'm about to call,
- 56:05Speaker 2: I need some inside details. So is there anything that
- 56:07Speaker 2: I can do to help sweeten the situation? Like, you know,
- 56:10Speaker 2: what is your boss like? What's their vibe? You know,
- 56:12Speaker 2: is there anything that you know specifically that they're a
- 56:15Speaker 2: fan of that I can use in my conversation to
- 56:17Speaker 2: get you the day off?
- 56:19Speaker 8: She is very strict, but very nice as well. But yeah,
- 56:24Speaker 8: if you say the right thing, she will mount.
- 56:26Speaker 10: Okay.
- 56:29Speaker 2: Is your boss into, like, books and literacy and that
- 56:32Speaker 2: sort of thing? You know, the library culture, community, those
- 56:35Speaker 2: sorts of things. Those are the touch points, right?
- 56:37Speaker 9: Yes, community.
- 56:38Speaker 8: That is a touchy point, yeah.
- 56:40Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. All right. Octavia, give me a moment. Let's call
- 56:46Speaker 2: the boss.
- 56:46Speaker 1: PHONE RINGS.
- 56:52Speaker 14: PHONE RINGS PHONE RINGS.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Hello. Hello, Luyanda.
- 57:03Speaker 8: Hello.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Hi, I'm sorry to bother you. My name is Carl Wastey.
- 57:07Speaker 2: I'm calling from KFM 94.5. How are you doing today? Fantastic.
- 57:14Speaker 2: I'm so sorry to bother you. I'm calling on behalf
- 57:17Speaker 2: of one of your star staff members, a librarian from
- 57:20Speaker 2: the Vasantakral Library. Her name is Octavia. Yes. And Octavia
- 57:28Speaker 2: is a wonderful human being. somebody who really enjoys spending
- 57:33Speaker 2: time with family and enjoys the community, Luyanda. And I
- 57:37Speaker 2: think the one thing that we know about you, this
- 57:39Speaker 2: is what Octavia tells me, is that you're a phenomenal
- 57:42Speaker 2: leader within your space. And you believe that a library
- 57:46Speaker 2: is not just a place of books, but it's a
- 57:48Speaker 2: place of opportunities where we can open people's minds and
- 57:51Speaker 2: we can heal communities with literacy. Am I getting close
- 57:54Speaker 2: to who you are?
- 57:55Speaker 1: That is correct.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Okay. Well, that's what Octavia told me about you. And
- 58:00Speaker 2: here's the thing. Octavia works quite often and I'm sure
- 58:04Speaker 2: you know about her daughter as well. There's a lot
- 58:05Speaker 2: of swimming competitions and Octavia herself, she deals with some of,
- 58:10Speaker 2: you know, some of the thyroid problems that she's been
- 58:12Speaker 2: dealing with at the moment has been sort of weighing
- 58:14Speaker 2: down on her. And I think that she's just a
- 58:16Speaker 2: bit too nervous to ask this, which is why I
- 58:19Speaker 2: am here live in KF94. 5 just asking you, Luyanda. Is
- 58:23Speaker 2: there any chance that Octavia could have a day off
- 58:27Speaker 2: on the 25th of September? It's the day after a
- 58:30Speaker 2: public holiday, which is Heritage Day. And that would give
- 58:33Speaker 2: her a nice long weekend to recuperate and get back
- 58:36Speaker 2: to making the difference that she does in the Vasantakra library.
- 58:41Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Did you just say yes?
- 58:43Speaker 10: Yes, sir.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Is it a yes from you? Can she take that
- 58:47Speaker 2: day off?
- 58:48Speaker 13: She can take a day off, say yes. She deserves.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Oh my word. Luyanda.
- 58:58Speaker 3: Oh.
- 59:02Speaker 2: Luyanda, thank you very much for obliging and for being
- 59:06Speaker 2: an incredible boss as well. I have so much love
- 59:09Speaker 2: for libraries and what they can do for people and
- 59:11Speaker 2: it's just great to know that a leader like you
- 59:13Speaker 2: is at the helm caring not only about the books
- 59:15Speaker 2: but about the people behind them and I really appreciate
- 59:17Speaker 2: that so have a wonderful evening and thanks a lot
- 59:20Speaker 2: for taking my.
- 59:20Speaker 13: Call thank you so very much you're.
- 59:23Speaker 2: Most welcome no thank you ma'am that's Ruyanda what a
- 59:27Speaker 2: lovely individual.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Davia.
- 59:34Speaker 2: We did it!
- 59:41Speaker 8: You are incredible!
- 59:43Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no. You are incredible. Because
- 59:45Speaker 2: I saw, I know what you're dealing with. I was
- 59:47Speaker 2: thinking about you all the way through the call. I
- 59:49Speaker 2: was thinking about your daughter and the swimming competitions that
- 59:51Speaker 2: you miss because you work every second Saturday at the
- 59:54Speaker 2: library and you love what you do and you think
- 59:56Speaker 2: that maybe asking for a day off would be like
- 59:58Speaker 2: anything less than that.
- 59:59Speaker 4: No.
- 59:59Speaker 2: You did what you need to do and I'm really
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: proud of you.
- 1:00:01Speaker 10: So.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: Did you hear what Luyanda said about you? She really
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: cares about you and she knows you're a hard worker.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: So take that 25th of September and have a long weekend.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: And you know what you need for a long weekend? Money.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I need money. I'm giving you 5,000 rand from Lotto Land.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: That's your money.
- 1:00:17Speaker 16: Thank you.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: That is so awesome. You better send me pictures of
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: where you're going on that long weekend. I want to
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: see them on my WhatsApp line that weekend after, okay?
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: That'll be great. And, Octavia, just a quick one. You
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: haven't perhaps placed a bet on lottoland.co.za after 3 September.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: I'm just asking, just in case.
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: Yes, I did.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: Did you? 3 September after? Okay, never mind. Make it
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: 10,000 Rand, actually. 10,000 Rand. Woo! I love her.
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: Thank you so, so much.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: That is how you win on this show. I'm so impressed.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Thank you very much. You're an absolute star and you
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: deserve every good thing that should be coming your way.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: And you're very, very happy. I must just say, you
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: are so lucky to have a boss like Luyanda. Honestly,
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: she's really great.
- 1:01:06Speaker 8: I am.
- 1:01:08Speaker 9: Yes, I am.
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: Thank you very much. You guys take me home every day.
- 1:01:12Speaker 8: I can't wait for flash drives because.
- 1:01:14Speaker 11: I drive every day from Atlanta to the Suns.
- 1:01:17Speaker 8: And five o'clock when I hit off, I put my
- 1:01:19Speaker 8: radar in my car and I drive and you guys
- 1:01:22Speaker 8: take me home every day. I'm sick because of you guys.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: You are a blessing. You're a blessing. Thank you for
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: all those kind words. I really appreciate you so much
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: and enjoy your day off on the 25th. It's confirmed.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Do all the admin you need to do. Enjoy your
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: 10,000 Rand to go spend that long weekend with you
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: and your family. Octavia, anybody who's at the helm of
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: educating and helping people with literacy is a friend of mine.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Thank you, Octavia.
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: Oh, thank you very much.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Anytime. I'll see you at the Santa Clara Library very,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: very soon. And it's German Lotto Draw Day. Congratulations to
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: a lucky punter from Cape Town who won more than
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: 297,000 Rand on Lotto Land after matching just five numbers
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: with a fixed odds bet. Tonight, the German Lotto payout
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: is 836 million Rand. Will you be the next winner?
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: Put your numbers to the test and bet now on
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: the German Lotto only on LottoLand.co.za. It's my jersey. This
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: one's called Falling on the Flash Drive on KFM 94.5.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: What is the one-up, you may ask? It's a lovely
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: time at the end of this show featuring me, Carl Wastey,
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: and Cassidy Jade Nicholson and producer Pietras, where we all
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: sit together and we try our best to one-up each other.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: The thing is, Pietras is not involved. He just will
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: determine who is the winner. Often we don't even find
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: a winner. He just lets everything go. He just lets
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: it go. And yesterday he gave us a very unique task.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: It was around sports brands and their vetted taglines.
- 1:02:45Speaker 14: How about The first draft taglines for sports brands.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Gymshark discounts in caption.
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: I haven't seen one person wearing Gymshark who isn't offering
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: a discount code.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: Hello guys, welcome to our channel.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Do you have one for Burnt? I was going to
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: go official brand of Pilates studios in Cape Town. Even
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: when you're shopping at Constantia Village.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: Burnt.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: Oh, so you want to take running seriously now? It's Essex.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Why are you running?
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Why are you running? I have a slogan.
- 1:03:14Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Tour. There's a brand called Hoka.
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: Oh, you got to give him that.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: The other one, I had another slogan for Hoka. Oh, yeah?
- 1:03:22Speaker 10: Yeah, tape.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: Listen, a Ferrari is cheaper. North Face.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Yo, I'm still trying to detect a liar. Do you
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: have one for Under Armour? Mm-mm. Okay. Perform between the
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: rock and a hard place. If you're so mad.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: Check here, it's your dad's birthday soon.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: New balance. Yep.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Did I get it?
- 1:03:45Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Get it, get it, got it quick, girl. Do you
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: have one for Puma?
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: No, tell me. Speedo.
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: You take swimming seriously, also leaving nothing to the imagination
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: since 1928.
- 1:03:57Speaker 17: Serving my community since 1928.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: You're good. Oh, fun.
- 1:04:04Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: You can have those sports brands. You're most welcome, especially.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Pietrus, give us one today, sir.
- 1:04:12Speaker 14: So earlier today in your news stories, you shared the
- 1:04:15Speaker 14: story about the book that's coming out, A Lolly to
- 1:04:18Speaker 14: Make You Jolly.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Yes. Paul Jacobson and Vinicius Cedrus honoring the great Vincent Cedrus,
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: the father of beach traders. Okay, that's cool.
- 1:04:28Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:04:28Speaker 14: So I thought, you know, how about... you to come
- 1:04:32Speaker 14: up with jingles you know for products goods.

- 1:04:51Speaker 17: you can't share that okay sorry no so you want
- 1:04:55Speaker 17: us to hit the beach with our unique products yes
- 1:04:58Speaker 17: but we got to have a good rhyme to get
- 1:04:59Speaker 17: it sold.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Yes hit the beach.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: Ah, relaxing.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: It's very relaxing.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: Unless you need to pee.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: Oh, whoops. Sorry. So picture us, we're at the beach.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: Sell it.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Some chips for your lips.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 1:05:20Speaker 10: Right?
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Hey.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: Especially if they're salt and vinegar.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: What about if you're selling chocolates on the beach, man?
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: Which is probably a bad idea because it's hot. But
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: you'd be like, lady, text for your becks.
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: Text.
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: A magnum is your companion.
- 1:05:38Speaker 9: Almost.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: Doing my best. I said, no, no, I got you.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: How about someone selling insurance as a vendor on the beach?
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Let's hear it.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: Cover for your lover.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: Speaking of lovers.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: A steering wheel cover to drive to your lover.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Oh, there we go. How about cell phone accessories? Sir,
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: charger for your father.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: LAUGHTER A car wash to make you look posh.
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: I'm coming through with these.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Hey, you know what? What about, right? You know, apples, oranges, mangoes.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Fruity for your cutie. Hey, that's fine. I hope they
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: use that somewhere. Yeah, they got to.
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: This one's for Beatrice and Carl.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Socks for your crocs. That's good, though. They should do that.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: That's very good. When you get to a certain age,
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: you have to. It's like that. Well, how about we
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: go to... What about the Durban beaches? You know? Bunny
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: for your honey. They should also have those traders. Come
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: on now.
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: A banana for the indaba.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: I don't know why anybody doesn't sell eggs on a beach.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: Everybody's protein for skrik at the moment. You know what
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: I'm saying? Hey, how about something simple? Half a dozen
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: for your cousin. Yes, Carl.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: How about to cater to kids' birthdays? A balloon to
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: take you to the moon.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: You never know.
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: You never know what people really need.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: What about on the beach? People need to sell more
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: vegetables on the beach. We are conscious about our wellness
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: at the moment, right?
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: But he's selling broccoli. I promise. It's real broccoli. It's
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: not dried. It's not Korean. It's like, no. I see you. Yeah.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: Let's take it back to eggs.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: Please.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: A quiche to make them say sheesh.
- 1:07:35Speaker 10: Beaver.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: How about approaching somebody, and you can tell they're trying
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: to be incognito on the beach, man. They have something
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: in their hand, you know, a little can or something. Sorry, sir.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Lucky for your stucky.
- 1:07:53Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: Maybe it's the wrong people, the demographic, but I just
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: feel like sometimes we aren't catering to certain markets.
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: Such as?
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: A creepy crawly because you clean the pool poorly.
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: You never know.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Any product that's on the table here, I think that
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: we should be selling more things. We should be selling
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: more things. That's it. We should do that. Like, you know,
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: radio ad for your lad. Like, we should probably do that.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Even our own sales team, we should think about it. Yeah.
- 1:08:25Speaker 17: Everything.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Put it in their contract.
- 1:08:27Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: Unless you can make it rhyme, don't waste my time.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: That's it.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Woo!
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: Lady, it'll be torture without this Porsche. You know, we
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: should sell cars like that. It would work. You know
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: what I mean? We should generate. We're giving people good ideas.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: We are.
- 1:08:43Speaker 15: Hey.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: We should wrap this up so we can keep our
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: own good ideas.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Oh, that's so, so very true. I apologize. Can I
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: do one more for a large contingent of people in
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: Cape Town?
- 1:08:52Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: All right. I would say, I think if we do
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: booties on the beach in certain areas, even if there's
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: no beach.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: Careful now.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: All right. Divorcee for the divorcee. Maybe that'll work. Just saying.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: Don't leave yet.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Wait.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Hear me out. It might work.
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: No, they might need to bury it before their next wedding.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: Well, that way you wouldn't need the, yeah, you wouldn't
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: be one. Anyway, we did that for Beatrice. It could
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: work for you. But please go check out that new book,
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: A Lolly to Make You Jolly. I think that's a
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: beautiful thing about us Keptonians, that we are creative when
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: it comes to sales. And long shall that beautiful piece
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: of culture continue on our beaches. Have yourself a wonderful evening.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Brandon and you two are up next to look after you.
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: We're back tomorrow at 3 o'clock with another Flash Drive.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: Okay, love you.
- 1:09:37Speaker 8: Bye.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: Weekdays, 3 to 7 p.m. The Flash Drive with Carl
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Wastey on KFM 94.5.
