- 1:04Speaker 2: We're in Redwood, New York again.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Just dropped Ala off at the campgrounds. Nobody cried, So
- 1:14Speaker 1: that's cool. But Whiskey Wagon saloon?
- 1:18Speaker 2: What's the guy for? Like?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Google stars A rating right there says four point four
- 1:22Speaker 1: point four out of five.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Pretty good.
- 1:24Speaker 1: What's your what's your first impressions on here? What do
- 1:26Speaker 1: you think they're gonna be known for? Does the food
- 1:28Speaker 1: look good?
- 1:30Speaker 2: The plan?
- 1:30Speaker 1: I think we're gonna go and we're gonna we're just
- 1:31Speaker 1: gonna check out the menu. We're gonna grab a beverage,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and then we're just kinda we're gonna we're gonna go
- 1:36Speaker 1: with the flow.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Maybe we get a little happy, maybe we get a little.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Uh, a little signed wings, a lot of chicken wings.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I feel like this is the place that we have
- 1:44Speaker 1: driven by a million times and never.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Stopped in, you know what I mean. I think it's
- 1:49Speaker 2: that log cabin place. It's gonna be up here.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I think we've driven by, I've always wanted to stop here,
- 1:56Speaker 1: we've never stopped. Today's the day I gotta I got
- 2:01Speaker 1: a good feeling about this. Okay, you're thinking draft beer,
- 2:04Speaker 1: bottle beer, thinking good prices, bad prices.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I think it'll be good prices.
- 2:10Speaker 5: Draft.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Are they gonna be open?
- 2:16Speaker 1: Pulling in to the whiskey wagon showing.
- 2:22Speaker 2: What's open? Right some people in the back.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Okay, it's next to an ice cream place, a gas
- 2:27Speaker 1: convenience store, park, I mean in a park to park or.
- 2:33Speaker 2: A daycare a lot of people.
- 2:35Speaker 1: On on four wheelers and stuff.
- 2:41Speaker 2: When you think of good, good vibes, sketchy.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Vibes, interesting, it is interesting.
- 2:50Speaker 2: There's a kitchen Saint on the back.
- 2:51Speaker 1: There's kids climbing ladders, a lot of weirs, a lot
- 2:55Speaker 1: of stuff.
- 2:55Speaker 2: This this is some.
- 2:56Speaker 1: North country stuff.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Maybe it'll be a beer we'll let out, maybe it'll
- 3:03Speaker 1: be more. Let's uh, let's go ready.
- 3:08Speaker 3: If you don't hear back from us, send help, all right,
- 3:13Speaker 3: just kidding, It's gonna be fine. Flag hanging up America.
- 3:18Speaker 2: That's inside.
- 4:04Speaker 1: We made it.
- 4:06Speaker 3: We made it. What was uh?
- 4:08Speaker 2: What was your first impression when we walked in there?
- 4:13Speaker 3: When I first walked the door, I thought it looked
- 4:16Speaker 3: bigger than I thought it would be.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely did look much bigger. Beaver talk.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I was looking for that.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Ah.
- 4:24Speaker 2: If you don't know what beaver slugs in what they are,
- 4:27Speaker 2: are you even living life?
- 4:29Speaker 3: I can't believe you beat me. I was watching for
- 4:31Speaker 3: it too.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Well, I mean for the people that are just listening.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Didn't beat her beat her to the beaver slug game,
- 4:36Speaker 1: which some people call wood chuck. It's a wooden panel vehicle.
- 4:39Speaker 1: You see it you yell it, you get a little Anyways,
- 4:44Speaker 1: back to the task I had. What did What did
- 4:46Speaker 1: you think of this place? The whiskey was it Whiskey River?
- 4:49Speaker 2: Soon Whiskey Wagon Saloon looked bigger.
- 4:52Speaker 3: It was bigger when I walked in. The booths look
- 4:54Speaker 3: really nice. They were kind of cool.
- 4:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I feel like it would have had a different
- 5:00Speaker 6: I am on a different day of the week maybe yep,
- 5:03Speaker 6: or if there was more people there for like dining,
- 5:06Speaker 6: m And to.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Be fully transparent, we did walk in around two two
- 5:10Speaker 1: thirty in the afternoon, not exactly prime. Let's grab some
- 5:15Speaker 1: food and Redwood isn't really an overly populated place. You're
- 5:21Speaker 1: kind of pulling from a pretty small town. Maybe some
- 5:24Speaker 1: surrounding areas would go in there. Not a lot of tourism.
- 5:29Speaker 1: You're just passing through. And it is one thousand percent
- 5:31Speaker 1: of the place that I've driven by a ton of
- 5:34Speaker 1: times and always kind of wondered, what's the place like?
- 5:37Speaker 1: And I'm not gonna lie to you, it's exactly how
- 5:39Speaker 1: I pictured it in my brain. Just a couple of
- 5:41Speaker 1: locals in there telling stories. One of my favorite things
- 5:46Speaker 1: was that was in there was I think a guy
- 5:49Speaker 1: was having a couple drinks that I'm gonna do a
- 5:50Speaker 1: couple of shots, get home. I want a nice, easy,
- 5:52Speaker 1: lazy Sunday. You know, he looked a lot of these
- 5:56Speaker 1: guys look like guys that bust their ass.
- 6:00Speaker 2: They work hard. Today's the day. I'm gonna have a
- 6:02Speaker 2: couple of drinks.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna do nothing that I'm gonna get up and
- 6:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna grind again for another busy week. And it
- 6:09Speaker 1: was a typical North Country place. Looking at the menu,
- 6:12Speaker 1: I thought there was some cool things. There was a
- 6:14Speaker 1: ton of different appetizers, a lot of food, a lot
- 6:17Speaker 1: of I would have thought maybe a little less food
- 6:21Speaker 1: items coming out of a place like that, because sometimes
- 6:24Speaker 1: if you do too much, how can you make all
- 6:25Speaker 1: of them good? But with that being said, it did
- 6:27Speaker 1: look like a lot of bar food. Somebody were some
- 6:30Speaker 1: chicken wings. Whilever there, I wanted to kind of stick
- 6:32Speaker 1: around to see how it was, but at the same point,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I want wanted to kind of get out of there
- 6:35Speaker 1: and head to the next stop. So we had a
- 6:38Speaker 1: beverage on a Miller latte. Meg had a white clock
- 6:42Speaker 1: tey it's a white claw.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Black cherry. Beer was cold. Beer was good, a lot
- 6:49Speaker 2: of Bush Jenny drinkers. I have to imagine it's a
- 6:52Speaker 2: lot of empties. There, a couple of shots, some shots
- 6:56Speaker 2: getting there, typical North Country kind of I think I
- 6:58Speaker 2: would put this in the dive bar. Yeah, in the
- 7:01Speaker 2: dive bar kind of region of bars.
- 7:04Speaker 3: But hey, kind of cool the core.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a skull a wagon. There wasn't a
- 7:10Speaker 1: wagon wheel in there. It would have been probably kind
- 7:12Speaker 1: of a depressing. One thing that I did find interesting
- 7:14Speaker 1: that I've never seen at a North Country bar is
- 7:17Speaker 1: they had a i'm gonna say seventy to eighty inch
- 7:20Speaker 1: TV and it was advertisements. There was music being played,
- 7:24Speaker 1: which I don't know if was through the TV, but
- 7:26Speaker 1: there was advertisement advertisements that were just kind of rolling
- 7:29Speaker 1: through a lot of local businesses and there's some kind
- 7:31Speaker 1: of company. I saw a couple of phone numbers that
- 7:33Speaker 1: they were charging twenty dollars a month, hundred dollars or whatever.
- 7:36Speaker 1: So I thought that was a pretty kind of a
- 7:38Speaker 1: cool way to generate a little extra money for whatever
- 7:41Speaker 1: the business was and just have local businesses, you know,
- 7:45Speaker 1: just being broadcast on that TV.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yeah. But special of the month I think was a
- 7:50Speaker 2: Big Mac pizza. So that was interesting.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Have to imagine pretty much everything coming out that kitchen
- 7:56Speaker 1: is frozen from a bag doesn't mean it's a bad
- 7:59Speaker 1: thing or good thing.
- 8:01Speaker 2: We didn't order food.
- 8:03Speaker 1: We got out of there and we decided to know
- 8:05Speaker 1: what on to the next, onto the next pretty quickly,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and we decided we were going to go to Watertown.
- 8:12Speaker 1: A lot more options, and this one came recommended from.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Your parents, right, yes, And what is it?
- 8:20Speaker 3: Half pint, half Pint, half Pint Pub.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I think half Pint Pub or no, I think it's
- 8:25Speaker 1: half Pint Brewhouse or something like that. From what we
- 8:28Speaker 1: were told, they make some beers, they have some food,
- 8:34Speaker 1: but they One thing that kind of stuck out to
- 8:37Speaker 1: me from the conversation we had with your parents was
- 8:40Speaker 1: that they have a passport style thing so you can
- 8:43Speaker 1: travel twelve different countries based on the beer.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Yep, So you try a beer from each country and
- 8:50Speaker 3: you get your passport stamped.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Yes, and then once you get twelve you get some
- 8:54Speaker 1: kind of thing. But yeah, I mean, if you want
- 8:58Speaker 1: to pull it up on the Google real quick.
- 8:59Speaker 3: It's actually called half Pint International Brujas.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Oh.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I wonder if half's in Canada and halfs in there
- 9:07Speaker 1: that's probably not it, so pull it up. First impression.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I know.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I looked at the Google we were at the last
- 9:13Speaker 1: stop real quick looked like a huge, wide, open venue.
- 9:18Speaker 1: We've been told there's pool, table, shuffle board, stuff like
- 9:21Speaker 1: that has five stars, five stars, how many reviews?
- 9:25Speaker 3: Not money. I think it's fairly new.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Okay, so that's another opportunity where we can roll in.
- 9:30Speaker 1: We can be one of the first Google things. We'll
- 9:33Speaker 1: take a lot of pictures, we'll put them up on
- 9:34Speaker 1: a Google Maps, and then we'll take a little footage.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Plus the last place, I was really hoping we could
- 9:38Speaker 1: just kind of sit down somewhere, order some food, have
- 9:41Speaker 1: a conversation over the menu stuff. This wasn't a place
- 9:44Speaker 1: that I even felt comfortable trying to film there. They
- 9:48Speaker 1: didn't seem like technological people.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I feel like, I don't know. I was getting vibes
- 9:52Speaker 2: that if.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I started recording, they might have thought I was a
- 9:55Speaker 1: rat or something, right, I don't know, But either way,
- 9:58Speaker 1: we're gonna head to Watertown. We're gonna pop in here
- 10:00Speaker 1: one of my favorite gas stations. Corner Market, Philly, No Teresa,
- 10:05Speaker 1: not Philly. We're in Teresa. We're gonna check out there
- 10:10Speaker 1: and I get some gas. But when we get to
- 10:12Speaker 1: the half point, we'll do our thing.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Sound good, Meg, sounds good?
- 10:16Speaker 1: All right?
- 10:36Speaker 2: Just left half plants.
- 10:38Speaker 1: As you can see here Happy hour three to six
- 10:41Speaker 1: free buffet, which I think is fantastic. Everything's five bucks
- 10:44Speaker 1: on the menu, but on Fridays it's all free. We
- 10:48Speaker 1: had the German beer and I had the check beer
- 10:51Speaker 1: as well.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Would you have Meg Scottish beer and the German and.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Boths The beers were pretty good right there. We had
- 10:59Speaker 2: a pretzel. Is the pretzel pretty good?
- 11:01Speaker 4: Pretzel was phenomenal.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I like the mustard over the beer. Cheese agree, And.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I mean the vibe was cool. The atmosphere I want
- 11:09Speaker 1: in pool. I want to shuffle board. Meg was pretty close,
- 11:13Speaker 1: right I let you win?
- 11:15Speaker 2: Yeah, she let me win.
- 11:16Speaker 1: But either way, like I love this place, like this
- 11:18Speaker 1: is this is gonna be a beer to prove we're
- 11:20Speaker 1: coming back here? Right?
- 11:22Speaker 3: Yes?
- 11:22Speaker 2: And this was recommended by Meg's parents and sister to
- 11:25Speaker 2: come down here.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I mean, this was this was cool. I do recommend
- 11:29Speaker 1: if you do park at the Whittaker Park and the
- 11:31Speaker 1: parking take a right not a left. We did come
- 11:34Speaker 1: in here. We walked all the way around the building
- 11:36Speaker 1: which we found it. It's a nice day. It was good,
- 11:40Speaker 1: but highly recommend it. But we're gonna head over there,
- 11:42Speaker 1: Meg right, I want to film over there. We're gonna
- 11:45Speaker 1: go to Garland City. We're gonna take out Garland City.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I love these old school buildings, so must go. You're ready,
- 11:51Speaker 1: I'm righty, let's go. It turns out Garland City was
- 11:56Speaker 1: closed eleven to three. If you're out here on a Sunday,
- 11:58Speaker 1: make sure you get there before three.
- 11:59Speaker 2: We went there first.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Huh.
- 12:02Speaker 2: All right, let's check out.
- 12:03Speaker 5: What is this one?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Eighteen twelve Company River? I know open signs on that's gone.
- 12:29Speaker 5: So the vibes in here are fantastic. Our bartender's unpoe believable.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Hold the great conversation. The beer is fantastic. And we
- 12:38Speaker 2: got some duck nachos. They were on a duck, so no,
- 12:41Speaker 2: we got some chicken duck nachos. Mind us the duck.
- 12:45Speaker 5: So we're gonna get some chicken nachos. That's got like
- 12:47Speaker 5: a cool apple blueberry salsa. I've never had.
- 12:49Speaker 2: It's the most unique thing that I saw on the menu.
- 12:52Speaker 1: So check this out.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Try duck chicken.
- 12:55Speaker 5: Nachos are in the olives on it.
- 13:00Speaker 7: We'll get out here. Oh the blueberry is there.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Knowing a loaded one. So it's got goat, cheese, blueberries
- 13:10Speaker 2: and chicken.
- 13:17Speaker 5: A bro loves nothing I've ever had.
- 13:29Speaker 1: For Wow, they don't hear you because they don't have
- 13:38Speaker 1: a mic comb.
- 13:38Speaker 7: But like.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Meg's giving a big thumbs up there, it is thick
- 13:43Speaker 1: thumbs up. Uh through the chicken duck MACHOs, the blueberry.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I mean, this stuff is fantastic. A little sweete choke
- 13:52Speaker 1: you up a little bit, want it? Yeah, maybe it's
- 13:56Speaker 1: a cherry bomb or whatever, but I mean these things
- 13:59Speaker 1: are fantastic. I mean, oop drop what I do and
- 14:03Speaker 1: that's an apple sounds like a tomato.
- 14:05Speaker 7: It's good, perfect bike, perfect bipe Displace rules eighteen twelve.
- 14:17Speaker 2: We got a special guest coming.
- 14:20Speaker 5: He's trying gonna be in camera.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Fantastic, all right, dick back into this.
- 14:26Speaker 1: We're gonna go another beer, maybe more food or we
- 14:29Speaker 1: uh we got a cool stop playing potentially depending on
- 14:32Speaker 1: how how long we stick out here.
- 14:34Speaker 2: About I'm digging the bipes here we left eighteen twelve.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I love the vibe there, right, the bartenders, last waitress
- 14:42Speaker 1: unbelievable yet food and my beard.
- 14:45Speaker 2: It was good. I had the rout eleven lagger.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Would you have meg the cherry bomb sour?
- 14:51Speaker 2: Cherry bomb sour? And uh yeah, it was good. It's delicious.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Now on to our next stop. We're going. Where we going?
- 15:01Speaker 1: Pearl Street Pub, a Pearl Street pump. We barely made it,
- 15:08Speaker 1: but we stopped in at the Pearl Street Pub. Pearl
- 15:14Speaker 1: Street Pub right on here on. I don't even know
- 15:17Speaker 1: what street of this, but heard the the beverages fantastic.
- 15:21Speaker 1: They got five dollars, pepperoni pizzas, they got chips, they
- 15:24Speaker 1: got all sorts of stuff. But yeah, so we're gonna
- 15:26Speaker 1: go in, we're gonna shoot some pool. We're gonna have
- 15:28Speaker 1: a good time. Pearl Street Pub. Next up on the tour.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Look at there's a penguin. Where's the Billy Madison fans? Okay,
- 15:56Speaker 1: the next stop is the redster in Red Tavern, Rooster
- 16:02Speaker 1: Rooster tavern, red.
- 16:04Speaker 2: This one's an interesting one. Let's see.
- 16:27Speaker 1: So we just left the Red Rooster Tavern. Not exactly
- 16:35Speaker 1: our cup of tea?
- 16:37Speaker 4: Is that?
- 16:37Speaker 2: Is that the right verbiage?
- 16:38Speaker 4: Man, I would say shotow whiskey.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Not exactly our shot of whiskey. Now if you think
- 16:46Speaker 1: dive bar, it's a dive bar. Dive bars in the city.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I feel like, in my opinion, hit a little bit
- 16:53Speaker 1: of a different hemisphere. It is on the corner of
- 16:56Speaker 1: High Street and some other street. Was my experience positive
- 17:03Speaker 1: one thousand percent. I walked into the place, I had
- 17:06Speaker 1: several grown men compliment my beard. That's always a great thing.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Usually it's a waitress trying to be nice ear in
- 17:13Speaker 1: an extra temper too. There was a whole bunch of
- 17:16Speaker 1: dudes that were just very happy, very thankful, very shocked
- 17:22Speaker 1: to see the beard. I like it. But when we
- 17:26Speaker 1: played a game of pool, we had a beer and
- 17:28Speaker 1: we are very ready to leave. This trip has led
- 17:31Speaker 1: us very low on the food, very high on the
- 17:36Speaker 1: couple of appetizers, very interesting scenes. It really opens our
- 17:43Speaker 1: eyes to what's out there in a bigger place than
- 17:46Speaker 1: where we live.
- 17:47Speaker 2: And just because we don't like it. There was a
- 17:50Speaker 2: lot of people having a good time.
- 17:51Speaker 1: There, a lot of people saying, hey, I promise you
- 17:54Speaker 1: I won't be a piece of garbage tomorrow at work
- 17:56Speaker 1: at four am.
- 17:58Speaker 2: That's their problem, not our. As you can see, it's
- 18:00Speaker 2: get a little bit dark.
- 18:01Speaker 3: A few games a Cutthroat Pool, a couple.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Of games of Cutthroat Pool. Who won those and shove it?
- 18:07Speaker 1: It was me that won every game of Cutthroat Pool.
- 18:09Speaker 1: But it was cool to see the sister in law.
- 18:12Speaker 1: It was interesting. It was it was cool to see
- 18:14Speaker 1: different locations. But let's see if we can find maybe
- 18:20Speaker 1: another another place, maybe to grab some food, grab something
- 18:25Speaker 1: to eat.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Anything in mind, mag I'm not sure I'm looking right now.
- 18:28Speaker 2: We're gonna look.
- 18:29Speaker 1: We're gonna see what we can find. We're gonna maybe
- 18:31Speaker 1: try to find actual food. But at the time, we're
- 18:35Speaker 1: running low on options, so I will see what we
- 18:37Speaker 1: could do. It turns out Tully doesn't serve food past
- 18:44Speaker 1: nine on a Sunday, even though Google and everything else dead.
- 18:49Speaker 1: So under the next adventure, we've been driving around waters
- 18:53Speaker 1: for way too long trying to find somewhere to eat,
- 18:55Speaker 1: and well, Sundays are tough, it turns out. So we're
- 18:59Speaker 1: at Arby's. We're gonna go, uh, we get our order,
- 19:02Speaker 1: get back in the truck. We'll let you know what
- 19:05Speaker 1: we founded Army's. Maybe we found a diamond in the rough.
- 19:09Speaker 1: What do you think, Meg, there's gonna be a diamond
- 19:11Speaker 1: in a rough? Yeah, yeah, there's gonna be a diamond
- 19:15Speaker 1: in a rup. But either way we're gonna, we're gonna
- 19:18Speaker 1: maybe our experience.
- 19:19Speaker 2: You ready, Like I love Arby's. They have dumb utes.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Let's do it. It's an impression. We're walking up to
- 19:27Speaker 2: the old Arby's.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Things like skunk.
- 19:30Speaker 2: We're next to the organic and natural market. That's probably it.
- 19:34Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm getting weird vibes. Meg says, it's good.
- 19:37Speaker 2: It's Arby's. We're fine, We're fine. You know that coming soon.
- 19:41Speaker 2: There's white tedder maca chief.
- 19:43Speaker 5: Let's go the Arby's.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Well, the little was it blue Mountain Blue, Mountain Berry
- 20:05Speaker 2: power eight or whatever done some good deals. I went
- 20:08Speaker 2: with the manager's choice. We also went with a little
- 20:11Speaker 2: peach cobbler mountain berry blast. Let's see what's going on,
- 20:15Speaker 2: so we just laugh. Arby's Watertown, New York. Manager Mark
- 20:19Speaker 2: was on duties that read a name tag do it
- 20:22Speaker 2: at the counter. Pretty young, right, yeah, I feel like younger,
- 20:27Speaker 2: kind of personable.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Gave us some recommendations. What I ordered was the manager's special.
- 20:34Speaker 1: He did customize some stuff speak. I mean, not the
- 20:40Speaker 1: strongest suit, uh cleanliness, not exactly the c I I walked.
- 20:45Speaker 1: At one point my foot got stuck and I lost
- 20:48Speaker 1: my my sand over a minute, didn't.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I mishap soda machine? Misshap?
- 20:54Speaker 1: It is a little bit later, I guess at the
- 20:57Speaker 1: time of this, the lids were saying overall, I mean,
- 21:02Speaker 1: I feel like they're just going through the motions.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I feel like they've had a long day. There's two
- 21:06Speaker 2: people working to drive through there.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I have no complaints. We're gonna get into the food.
- 21:12Speaker 1: We're gonna see how it goes. And then and a
- 21:14Speaker 1: little bit later, I feel like I'm ride home. We're
- 21:16Speaker 1: gonna do a full recap of our day. We're gonna
- 21:19Speaker 1: slap on the MIC's. We're gonna have a recap from
- 21:21Speaker 1: the first place all the way last place. You're gonna
- 21:24Speaker 1: hear our adventure.
- 21:26Speaker 2: That's good, let's do it.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Back after a crazy little Sunday Funday road trip, we're
- 21:33Speaker 1: back in the studio and we wanted to we wanted
- 21:36Speaker 1: to give you guys a recap. There was some moments
- 21:38Speaker 1: that we probably didn't get on film. And at the
- 21:40Speaker 1: end of it, we're gonna get We're gonna do a rating.
- 21:42Speaker 1: We're gonna give you our third, second, and first place
- 21:47Speaker 1: from the trip. So it's a pretty good one, right meg.
- 21:50Speaker 1: It was interesting. We kind of knew we had a
- 21:53Speaker 1: rough idea of what we were gonna do, but we
- 21:56Speaker 1: had no idea where we were gonna end up, right correct.
- 22:01Speaker 1: So first we dropped, obviously, Ila off at Camp WABASO.
- 22:06Speaker 1: How are you feeling about that? You're still okay, You're
- 22:08Speaker 1: still a little nervous, You're still still a little on
- 22:10Speaker 1: the on the fence of how that's going.
- 22:13Speaker 4: I feel good about it?
- 22:14Speaker 1: Feel good about it now? Or you've always felt good
- 22:17Speaker 1: about it, because let's be honest, both of us have
- 22:18Speaker 1: been checking our phones quite a bit to make sure
- 22:20Speaker 1: we're don't get a call to see kind of you know,
- 22:22Speaker 1: what they're done to And.
- 22:25Speaker 4: I actually really didn't. I just looked at the schedule.
- 22:28Speaker 4: I just wanted to see, like what part of her
- 22:30Speaker 4: day she was in. I'm excited for I know.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So next week on the episode will maybe happen just
- 22:34Speaker 1: a full Camp Wabasso recap isla, what she ate, what
- 22:39Speaker 1: what she did, what she liked? Will she go back?
- 22:41Speaker 1: That's the question. What do you think? Is she gonna
- 22:43Speaker 1: want to go back every year? Is she gonna be
- 22:44Speaker 1: a one and donner.
- 22:45Speaker 4: I don't think she's gonna want to leave.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Oh, I think she's gonna be ready to go. I uh,
- 22:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna go together. I think she's gonna be a
- 22:53Speaker 1: one and done.
- 22:54Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Okay, I guess we'll see. In the words of Ila,
- 22:58Speaker 1: So we drop her off. Camp Wabaso is in Redwood,
- 23:02Speaker 1: New York. So I got on my phone and I
- 23:04Speaker 1: said places to eat near me? And where did that
- 23:07Speaker 1: land us?
- 23:09Speaker 4: We went to the Whiskey Wagon, the.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Whiskey Wagon saloon or tavern or Barlet's let's pull it
- 23:17Speaker 1: up on the googs just to make sure we're doing
- 23:19Speaker 1: this right here. It was the Whiskey Wagon Saloon in Redwood.
- 23:27Speaker 1: We looked at it and we said, all right, this
- 23:31Speaker 1: looks pretty decent. And then as we were driving, we
- 23:34Speaker 1: were like, is this the place that we've driven by
- 23:35Speaker 1: a million times and kind of always been intrigued by.
- 23:37Speaker 1: It's been a couple of different places. It was the place.
- 23:42Speaker 1: First impressions were a little interesting because where you park
- 23:47Speaker 1: it's kind of the back of the building, like a
- 23:49Speaker 1: lot of North Country place. It's not overly finished. It's
- 23:52Speaker 1: almost like a like they're trying to do a patio
- 23:54Speaker 1: type thing, just kind of in the progress of, you know,
- 23:57Speaker 1: fixing it up, which a renovations family run. Definitely feels
- 24:01Speaker 1: like some kind of family were running it. It's just
- 24:04Speaker 1: that north country place you can show up on a
- 24:06Speaker 1: four wheeler, a side by side, a truck, a van
- 24:11Speaker 1: by foot. You know, I think it's a good place
- 24:14Speaker 1: for redwood. You know, there's not a lot of options.
- 24:16Speaker 1: There's one gas pump, place to get some ice cream,
- 24:19Speaker 1: and now I got a place to eat. Did ask
- 24:21Speaker 1: a couple of people throw at our travels that we
- 24:23Speaker 1: went there, and people said the food was pretty decent.
- 24:26Speaker 1: It's got fifty five reviews on the googs and a
- 24:30Speaker 1: four point four rating. Somebody just this one. Let's do
- 24:37Speaker 1: newest ratings. We haven't put ours in yet, but somebody
- 24:42Speaker 1: David W put in a five star said excellent service
- 24:46Speaker 1: with great local feel, had three to four people, plenty
- 24:50Speaker 1: of parking. I do agree with that. Then there was
- 24:53Speaker 1: a Keith that said, awesome dive bar. If you're looking
- 24:55Speaker 1: for good wings, this is the place. We had a
- 24:57Speaker 1: great time at the wagon wheel. Don't forget to say
- 25:00Speaker 1: high Scottie when he walks in. So there we go.
- 25:05Speaker 4: I also so if I had heard that they had
- 25:07Speaker 4: good wings.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yep, then another one for Scotty when you're when you
- 25:10Speaker 1: get here, ask for Scotty. Best bartender in town, very
- 25:13Speaker 1: lovable and a nice teddy bear. The drinks taste way
- 25:16Speaker 1: better when he gives you a heart hand sign, you
- 25:19Speaker 1: know what I mean, winky face.
- 25:22Speaker 4: I don't think we met Scotty.
- 25:24Speaker 1: I don't think we met Scottie. There was a female bartender.
- 25:28Speaker 1: There's a little kid in there making krabby patties. But
- 25:31Speaker 1: somebody did order the wings. The image of the Google
- 25:34Speaker 1: wings is on there. Looks good, but they were from
- 25:37Speaker 1: three years ago, so I have to imagine the wings
- 25:39Speaker 1: have changed, so we will.
- 25:41Speaker 7: Uh.
- 25:42Speaker 4: There was cool, The core was cool overall.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Not a not a bad little stop. Wasn't a bad
- 25:48Speaker 1: little stop. We each had a beverage. Didn't really feel
- 25:52Speaker 1: like sticking around, didn't feel uncomfortable at all, felt very welcomed.
- 25:56Speaker 8: You know.
- 25:57Speaker 1: The minute I walked in, I got a great compliment
- 25:59Speaker 1: or two. The beard. I thought it was good, vibes good.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I would definitely if I was in the mood for
- 26:04Speaker 1: an appetizer or a meal or just kind of pass
- 26:06Speaker 1: them through. I'd stop back there. Now. The question is
- 26:09Speaker 1: would you stop there with the kids. I don't know
- 26:13Speaker 1: if I would on like a maybe on.
- 26:16Speaker 4: A different day during like a busy meal time.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If it's just like you
- 26:22Speaker 1: walk in when we were you know, Sunday Funday vibes,
- 26:26Speaker 1: people are just there to unwind. You know, you got
- 26:28Speaker 1: some blue collar workers. They're just there to chill. That's
- 26:31Speaker 1: not the time to bring the kids. But like you said,
- 26:33Speaker 1: you know, maybe uh Wednesday, Thursday night. You know, they
- 26:36Speaker 1: they had specials every night. I think I would definitely
- 26:39Speaker 1: huge menu, very very very big menu. So that was
- 26:43Speaker 1: the wagon wheel saloons.
- 26:46Speaker 4: They had Ruben Ruben Chris. I think they were called
- 26:52Speaker 4: Ruben crunch raps something like that. They sounded interesting.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Anything with a rubin interests you, let's be honest, true,
- 27:01Speaker 1: but it's different. It was unique.
- 27:03Speaker 4: I think it was a Reuben crunt trap or something
- 27:06Speaker 4: like that.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think the pizza the week ors almost
- 27:08Speaker 1: a big mac pizza, A lot of good stuff. All right,
- 27:12Speaker 1: Then we decided, all right, where are we going next.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Let's maybe go to the farthest place. Let's try to
- 27:19Speaker 1: find something in water Town right, and we actually went
- 27:23Speaker 1: off for recommendation. Meg's parents and sister. They went to
- 27:28Speaker 1: this place and said, yeah, I gotta jacket out. So
- 27:32Speaker 1: where do we go next?
- 27:33Speaker 4: We went to International half Pint.
- 27:37Speaker 1: That what it's called.
- 27:38Speaker 4: I'm apprecire that's the name of it.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Is interesting, Yeah, half pie if you google it half
- 27:43Speaker 1: Pints International Burrojas And on the Google it's pretty new.
- 27:51Speaker 1: It's got twenty reviews. Again, ours is not on here
- 27:53Speaker 1: yet five stars. I like to take my time at
- 27:56Speaker 1: the Google reviews. I'll poll some pictures, I'll pull some
- 27:59Speaker 1: stuff and a nice review first impressions. When we rolled in,
- 28:06Speaker 1: I gotta be honest. We parked at what I thought
- 28:08Speaker 1: was Whitaker Park, but it is white Water Yeah park,
- 28:14Speaker 1: so free parking, plenty of free parking. And it's like
- 28:17Speaker 1: a big old industrial buildings. There's the there's the brew
- 28:22Speaker 1: house in the bottom, and I think there's what apartments,
- 28:25Speaker 1: maybe some businesses. There's a lot going on in the building.
- 28:28Speaker 1: We had a fifty to fifty shot. Do we go
- 28:30Speaker 1: left and walk around the building, do we go right
- 28:33Speaker 1: and walk around the building. Naturally, Meg always choose his left,
- 28:36Speaker 1: so I said, let's go left. And her defense was
- 28:38Speaker 1: the first time she said go right. So we did
- 28:40Speaker 1: a very tory walk around the building.
- 28:45Speaker 4: And the entrance pretty much where we started.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Definitely about where we started on the right. So if
- 28:50Speaker 1: you are on the back of the building, the entrance
- 28:52Speaker 1: is on the right. You go through there, you can't
- 28:54Speaker 1: miss it. There's elevators, I think to go up to
- 28:56Speaker 1: apartments and businesses. Straight ahead is the brew house, big
- 29:00Speaker 1: open space. I loved the way it looked. Yes, the
- 29:06Speaker 1: Yankee stuff whatever, we can deal with that, but flags
- 29:11Speaker 1: for every country, beers from a bunch of different countries.
- 29:14Speaker 1: You can see right where he makes the beer. Had
- 29:16Speaker 1: a brief conversation with him, you know, and a buddy
- 29:20Speaker 1: of mine we used to do a little bit of
- 29:22Speaker 1: home brewing, and he said, essentially that's where he started,
- 29:24Speaker 1: and that's kind of what he does. He makes twenty
- 29:26Speaker 1: gallons at a time. When it sells out, he makes
- 29:28Speaker 1: another twenty gallon batch. And I went with a German
- 29:33Speaker 1: beer and a check Pills. German beer was fantastic. It
- 29:37Speaker 1: was a darker one. It was so good. Meg actually
- 29:40Speaker 1: had the German one on the second round. I didn't
- 29:43Speaker 1: love the check I did a taste test of it
- 29:45Speaker 1: and it was good. But for some reason on the
- 29:47Speaker 1: sixteen ounce it didn't have that same taste. I didn't
- 29:50Speaker 1: love it. Maybe it was the bottom of the barrel.
- 29:52Speaker 1: It wasn't bad, not for me, it wasn't for you.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Wasn't there. I felt like I couldn't really do American
- 29:58Speaker 1: or Canadian. I wanted to go outside the world. After
- 30:01Speaker 1: having that German one. The Irish one didn't taste great.
- 30:05Speaker 2: You did.
- 30:05Speaker 1: We did sample that as well, but it was good
- 30:10Speaker 1: Scottish and you went with the Scottish as well, right, Yeah,
- 30:14Speaker 1: was your of the two. I think I liked the
- 30:17Speaker 1: Scottish better. Yeah, it was good.
- 30:20Speaker 4: I really wanted to try the Canadian cream aal, but
- 30:24Speaker 4: I feel like I can get that anywhere around our parts.
- 30:29Speaker 1: That is true. We did try a pretzel. I liked.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Everything that was food related was five dollars, just to
- 30:36Speaker 1: make it easy. So whether you wanted a chacuderie board,
- 30:39Speaker 1: a pretzel, a hot dog, some chili dessert, all a
- 30:43Speaker 1: mode dessert, all mood, any of u's af five bucks.
- 30:47Speaker 1: So naturally we got the pretzel and he makes them
- 30:51Speaker 1: to order, so we wanted one, somebody else wanted one.
- 30:54Speaker 1: He made one extra one. He knew it was gonna go.
- 30:55Speaker 1: We were gonna get it, but it got gone before
- 30:58Speaker 1: we got it. What did you think of the pretzel?
- 31:00Speaker 4: Man? I loved the pretzel and you can get it
- 31:03Speaker 4: with salt or cinnamon sugar.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Yep, it's dang good pretzel. No, not homemade, probably frozen,
- 31:10Speaker 1: which isn't a big deal to us. It was a
- 31:12Speaker 1: different style. It wasn't huge, but it wasn't small. It
- 31:14Speaker 1: was very fluffy, and they came with I thought it
- 31:18Speaker 1: said beer, cheese and mustard, but it was definitely a
- 31:20Speaker 1: nacho cheese. Yeah, because I saw a pump, it doesn't matter,
- 31:24Speaker 1: still goes there. But the mustard was fantastic.
- 31:27Speaker 4: The mustard was good.
- 31:28Speaker 1: The mustard was great, So good things. We started playing
- 31:30Speaker 1: some shuffle board, took a break to eat a pretzel,
- 31:33Speaker 1: lost to lost the shuffle board table had some other
- 31:37Speaker 1: people use it, which not a big deal. They had
- 31:40Speaker 1: the horse races on an FS one. We bet on
- 31:43Speaker 1: two races, lost on both, Damn you or diezus. Then
- 31:47Speaker 1: we played a game of pool and just kind of
- 31:51Speaker 1: hung out. The guy was super friendly. He reminded me
- 31:54Speaker 1: of John Taffers from Bar Rescue. They have to be related, right.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Had air hockey and darts as well, so there's lots
- 32:04Speaker 4: to do there.
- 32:05Speaker 1: They had a claw machine claw machine that was all
- 32:07Speaker 1: like MLB, NHL, Teddy Bears and stuff like that. It
- 32:10Speaker 1: was it was a great vibe, big old bar, lots
- 32:13Speaker 1: of places to sit, stand up, you could do whatever.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I think it's really cool. I wish nothing but the best.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I think we're in the area again. I'd go back,
- 32:23Speaker 1: would you.
- 32:24Speaker 4: I think that was the top of my list.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Yeah, all right. So we went from there and then
- 32:29Speaker 1: we went to.
- 32:32Speaker 4: What we tried to go to Garland City.
- 32:34Speaker 1: We tried to go to Garland City. Didn't realize they
- 32:36Speaker 1: closed at three on Sundays. We walked there, dar was locked.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Didn't go to Garlands. Maybe we should have went there first,
- 32:44Speaker 1: but we One thing that we're noticing is we can't
- 32:46Speaker 1: always rely on what Google has for there. I feel
- 32:50Speaker 1: like a lot of businesses around here are not updating
- 32:52Speaker 1: their Google pages because it didn't pop out to us
- 32:55Speaker 1: that hey, this closes soon, or you know this closed
- 32:58Speaker 1: at eight o'clock. I think I said yea eight when
- 33:00Speaker 1: it was definitely three. So it is what it is,
- 33:02Speaker 1: just just a recommendation from a guy that runs a
- 33:05Speaker 1: business and a guy that does social media, please take
- 33:07Speaker 1: the time to update your Google pages.
- 33:10Speaker 4: It's like happened like three times in the last week.
- 33:12Speaker 1: It happened twice on the same trip which we're gonna
- 33:15Speaker 1: get to a little bit later. It happened again, all right.
- 33:18Speaker 1: So then we did a quick little audible and we
- 33:22Speaker 1: went to eighteen twelve, which we were planning to go
- 33:25Speaker 1: there because they're all right in the same location. So
- 33:28Speaker 1: we went into eighteen twelve and I don't know, I
- 33:31Speaker 1: didn't realize it was that big of a place. Like
- 33:33Speaker 1: I walked in, took it right, and then it was
- 33:36Speaker 1: just like outdoor street levels too. Yeah, I mean, this
- 33:39Speaker 1: place is wild. Then, to be honest with you, I
- 33:42Speaker 1: didn't I've never heard of the place before on the
- 33:46Speaker 1: on the Googles. Have you been there before?
- 33:48Speaker 4: Not with what it is now. It used to be
- 33:51Speaker 4: something different but similar, where it was like restaurant on
- 33:57Speaker 4: the bottom floor with bar, or maybe it was just
- 34:01Speaker 4: the bar on the bottom floor, and then the middle
- 34:03Speaker 4: floor was like the restaurant or something, and then the
- 34:06Speaker 4: top floor was a nightclub.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Interesting, so it was the eighteen to twelve Brewing Company?
- 34:13Speaker 1: Corrector is it eighteen twelve on the It wasn't eighteen
- 34:15Speaker 1: twelve on the river by?
- 34:16Speaker 4: It was the river.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Oh so it's eighteen twelve on the river. Yeah, this
- 34:20Speaker 1: place here, yep, Okay, so eighteen twelve on the river
- 34:24Speaker 1: by eighteen twelve brewing company four point one out of five.
- 34:28Speaker 1: But they have almost two thousand Google reviews, so you're
- 34:33Speaker 1: gonna have some. You're gonna have some haters in there.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Four point one with that many are there? We walked in.
- 34:40Speaker 1: They had forty something taps, so we said something caught
- 34:44Speaker 1: your eye immediately you didn't even want the sample, You
- 34:47Speaker 1: just went for it.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Correct?
- 34:49Speaker 1: What was it?
- 34:50Speaker 4: The cherry bomb?
- 34:51Speaker 1: Cherry bomb? It's a sourur. What's it do when it
- 34:55Speaker 1: hits the lip? When it does that, you know it's
- 34:57Speaker 1: a good one. Immediately? Did it? That smile? It was
- 35:01Speaker 1: just a glow on meg that that was the one.
- 35:04Speaker 4: Well, I love sours, but a lot of places they
- 35:07Speaker 4: call it a sour, but it's not really a sour,
- 35:09Speaker 4: and then it's disappointing.
- 35:12Speaker 1: I sampled too. There was an Irish red ale that
- 35:15Speaker 1: eighteen twelve makes in the route eleven al or pilsner
- 35:19Speaker 1: or whatever. I can't remember, but it was eighteen twelve,
- 35:21Speaker 1: a rout eleven eighteen twelve. I went with that. I
- 35:23Speaker 1: thought it was delicious. I had two of them, very good.
- 35:27Speaker 1: And then we decided to order an appetizer, because again
- 35:31Speaker 1: we try to find something you can't get everywhere. They
- 35:33Speaker 1: had some great looking appetizers. You can get your chicken wings,
- 35:36Speaker 1: you can get all this stuff. Sure, they were delicious.
- 35:38Speaker 4: What caught her eye Meg the duck nachos.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Duck nachos. But not only were they duck nachos, they
- 35:45Speaker 1: had an apple, little blueberry salsa is how they worded it,
- 35:49Speaker 1: with goat cheese and feta, and it was just something
- 35:53Speaker 1: that we hadn't seen before. So we put it in
- 35:56Speaker 1: and then we get them womp, womp, I'm sorry, we're
- 36:00Speaker 1: out of duck. So we went a different bird. We
- 36:02Speaker 1: did some chicken. I thought it was a great choice.
- 36:04Speaker 4: Was great.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Chicken was fantastic. The chips almost tasted like a homemade
- 36:10Speaker 1: nacho chip. It was fantastic. It was like, yeah, it was.
- 36:15Speaker 1: It was like nothing I've ever had before. We split it,
- 36:18Speaker 1: and then as we did, we had a special guest
- 36:20Speaker 1: show up. My's sister decided to come in there comes
- 36:25Speaker 1: in forty something, taps sorder is a blue light all right,
- 36:31Speaker 1: north country, North Country. So overall that place was fantastic.
- 36:37Speaker 1: And then we said, all right, we can't stay here
- 36:39Speaker 1: all day. I think we could have stayed there all day.
- 36:41Speaker 1: We're not really good about leaving once we find a
- 36:43Speaker 1: place we enjoy. So we said, all right. I was
- 36:47Speaker 1: a guy's named Jake.
- 36:50Speaker 4: I think it was Jake.
- 36:51Speaker 1: I think Jake either way, one of the workers who
- 36:54Speaker 1: you know, was just having a good time, super friendly,
- 36:57Speaker 1: had a nice beard. I was like, oh, man, we
- 36:58Speaker 1: gotta we gotta go to an other place. What is
- 37:00Speaker 1: your favorite place around here? Without hesitation, didn't even think
- 37:05Speaker 1: Pearl Street Pub came out of his mouth. So we said,
- 37:08Speaker 1: all right, we're going to Pearl Street Pub. And I said,
- 37:10Speaker 1: come on, man, first rounds on me. Show up to
- 37:13Speaker 1: Pearl Street Pub. It's your recommendation. Let's have fun. He
- 37:16Speaker 1: didn't show, But Pearl Street Pub fantastic seventy eight Google reviews.
- 37:22Speaker 1: It's a four point one. And I'm gonna tell you
- 37:23Speaker 1: this place screams us we we didn't eat for some reason.
- 37:29Speaker 1: It does say it's known for its serves food like burgers,
- 37:34Speaker 1: pub chips, specials, stuff like that. Google. I think has
- 37:38Speaker 1: that one wrong, or maybe they have switched it up.
- 37:41Speaker 1: The only thing that they had. We're five dollars personal
- 37:43Speaker 1: pizzas and some chips. We got chips, We got the chips,
- 37:46Speaker 1: we got the Sultan Vinni's go chips, Lays chips, big bags,
- 37:49Speaker 1: not them little ones you can at the school cafeteria.
- 37:52Speaker 1: But I mean you got the you walk in. Before
- 37:55Speaker 1: you pull in, there's a huge penguin. There's a big
- 37:58Speaker 1: old statue of a bear. There's just the outside decor
- 38:02Speaker 1: is a rooster, a rooster. It's just wild. You walk in,
- 38:06Speaker 1: it's just decorated like you're like, you'dn't vision a dive bar, right,
- 38:12Speaker 1: it's it's got the leg from a Christmas story in
- 38:15Speaker 1: the middle, the lamp, it's got you know, cutouts of people.
- 38:19Speaker 1: I mean, there's just the decorse cool. The bar school,
- 38:22Speaker 1: the bartender is awesome. We sat down, you know, just
- 38:26Speaker 1: your standard beverages. I think I got a Miller Lotte.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Sister got a blue Light and what'd you get Miller
- 38:33Speaker 1: Lte as well. So we had a beer shot, some pool,
- 38:36Speaker 1: you know, hung out, had an awkward experience that we'll
- 38:40Speaker 1: leave off camera, but it's worth giggling about. And then
- 38:45Speaker 1: I don't know, it was a really cool place again.
- 38:48Speaker 4: And let's say the awkward experience had nothing to do
- 38:50Speaker 4: with the bar itself, the place itself.
- 38:53Speaker 1: It was just a random situation with some people that
- 38:56Speaker 1: hadn't seen each other in a very long time. And anyways,
- 39:00Speaker 1: I still want the footage, so Pearl Street Pub, you
- 39:02Speaker 1: can hook me up with the footage of that. I'd
- 39:05Speaker 1: love to see it. Bring it over. But anyways, there
- 39:08Speaker 1: was that, and then we said, you know what, all right,
- 39:10Speaker 1: he just picked it. Your sister now lives in Watertown.
- 39:14Speaker 1: We said, all right, you got to pick a place.
- 39:16Speaker 1: You're going to pick the place.
- 39:17Speaker 4: And then she's very familiar with the area, she's been
- 39:19Speaker 4: living there most of her adult LIFs.
- 39:22Speaker 1: So we said, all right, random fate, let you pick one.
- 39:25Speaker 1: So she picked the Red Red Roost Tavern. I believe
- 39:29Speaker 1: Red Roost Tavern. I believe there's also a Red Roost restaurant,
- 39:39Speaker 1: Red Roost Tavern. That doesn't look like it is.
- 39:43Speaker 4: I think it's the Red Rooster.
- 39:45Speaker 1: The Red Rooster. Yeah, let's check it out. Red Rooster,
- 39:51Speaker 1: Watertown Red Rooster, Watertown, New York. The Red Rooster taverns
- 39:59Speaker 1: cash neighborhood bar. So it's got handcrafted cocktails, comfort food
- 40:03Speaker 1: and lively out. Did they sell food?
- 40:05Speaker 4: I don't think they were when we were there.
- 40:07Speaker 1: No, yeah, that's the place all right. I remember the
- 40:16Speaker 1: tractor and there's just some other either way, something red roused.
- 40:20Speaker 1: If that is the place. It's three point nine stars,
- 40:22Speaker 1: only fourteen Google reviews, showing some outdoor picks. We didn't
- 40:28Speaker 1: go outdoor, but either way, casual looking dive bar. Yeah,
- 40:32Speaker 1: this is the one because it's on three twenty nine
- 40:34Speaker 1: High Street, Watertown, New York.
- 40:37Speaker 2: So we.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Walked in. Immediate reaction was hey, it's a dive bar.
- 40:44Speaker 1: And we were approached some very good beard comments or
- 40:46Speaker 1: with some people that were letting their hair down having
- 40:49Speaker 1: a little Sunday fun day, and uh, what'd you think
- 40:52Speaker 1: of the place? Meg? Overall, as soon as you walked in,
- 40:54Speaker 1: first impressions, good vibes, sketchy vibes, weird vibes. Did you
- 41:00Speaker 1: feel comfortable if you were if you were a single
- 41:02Speaker 1: woman walked in there solo, would you feel comfortable there?
- 41:05Speaker 7: No?
- 41:06Speaker 1: Itp was interesting. I never felt like I was in danger.
- 41:13Speaker 1: I didn't feel like I was unwelcome. It was just
- 41:15Speaker 1: giving off city vibes and we're North country dive bars.
- 41:19Speaker 1: It was different. Like I said, never felt uncomfortable. I
- 41:22Speaker 1: never thought I was in danger by any means. But
- 41:25Speaker 1: I think if you were a female, i'd be a
- 41:28Speaker 1: little but you were welcome to at least your sister
- 41:32Speaker 1: with a familiar face, or with somebody that went to
- 41:34Speaker 1: the same school that you guys did in high school.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Was tending bar and like I said, just some people
- 41:39Speaker 1: letting their hair down on a Sunday, promising each other
- 41:41Speaker 1: that they wouldn't go too hard because they had to
- 41:43Speaker 1: work at four in the morning.
- 41:45Speaker 4: I could use some updates, could use some updates, some maintenance.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Yep, there was some spots on the floor that were
- 41:51Speaker 1: very soft, felt like we were going to fall through.
- 41:52Speaker 1: We played a game of pool, had a beer, and
- 41:55Speaker 1: we headed out of there. So I guess said it
- 41:58Speaker 1: wasn't overly. We're probably what in the seven o'clock range,
- 42:02Speaker 1: so it wasn't too too late, but it wasn't maybe eish,
- 42:05Speaker 1: so either way, we had we had one drink there,
- 42:09Speaker 1: hit the road very nice. Again. The bartender did a
- 42:12Speaker 1: great job super friendly, was you know, shlinging to drinks,
- 42:17Speaker 1: and then we said, hey, you know, we really need
- 42:19Speaker 1: to eat a good dinner. That was the whole plan,
- 42:22Speaker 1: was to go have a good Sunday Funday dinner and dessert.
- 42:25Speaker 1: We went to Tullies. I think, not the greatest we've
- 42:30Speaker 1: had there before, but we're like, we'll get in there.
- 42:32Speaker 1: It says it's open to late. We walked in and
- 42:34Speaker 1: they were not serving food anymore. So we looked at
- 42:38Speaker 1: some other restaurants. We debated, like a steakhouse. We debated this,
- 42:41Speaker 1: and at this point we were still an hour and
- 42:43Speaker 1: twenty minutes from home, so we ended up at Arby Arby's.
- 42:49Speaker 1: They had the meats, staff friendly, They didn't move the quickest,
- 42:55Speaker 1: but they were very good to us. The food came
- 42:57Speaker 1: out as expected for an hour Arby's, and not a
- 43:02Speaker 1: lot to overly review there. But let's go ahead, let's
- 43:06Speaker 1: rank the establishments. Who would be your number? Where do
- 43:10Speaker 1: we go? Five places?
- 43:12Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 43:13Speaker 1: Okay? Who is your number? Five? Five being the highest,
- 43:16Speaker 1: five being the lowest. Red rooster I agree with you there,
- 43:21Speaker 1: Red Rooster ranks five not including Arby's.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Right?
- 43:24Speaker 1: Are we including Arby's? Because I would still go Arby's
- 43:27Speaker 1: over Red Rus, So we're gonna go to Red Russ.
- 43:29Speaker 1: We agree at number five.
- 43:31Speaker 4: Number four Mm, probably the Whiskey Wagon, only because I
- 43:39Speaker 4: think it was the time that we went and in.
- 43:45Speaker 1: The competition that we have.
- 43:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it would have been a totally different
- 43:49Speaker 4: experience at a different time, on a different day.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Agree, And either way, I still think of the three
- 43:55Speaker 1: that are there, I still really like these other three
- 43:57Speaker 1: a little bit better. All right, So who is your
- 44:00Speaker 1: third place?
- 44:01Speaker 4: Mm hmmm, Oh, this one's hard because I liked the
- 44:08Speaker 4: other three. I know I'm gonna go.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 44:17Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I'll tell you my three, So we're gonna be a
- 44:22Speaker 1: little different. My number three, I think is gonna be
- 44:24Speaker 1: the International Brew Has. I liked it there, but for
- 44:28Speaker 1: me three I thought the other two were a little
- 44:31Speaker 1: more fun, a little more of my vibes. But I
- 44:34Speaker 1: did like that. The food, I don't know, I liked it.
- 44:36Speaker 1: The beer was decent. Maybe the ones we continually try.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Like I said, the vibes changed a little bit towards
- 44:43Speaker 1: the end of our visit from staff and people in there.
- 44:47Speaker 1: That's why it went down to a three for me.
- 44:49Speaker 1: But all right, so I got a second. We gotta first,
- 44:53Speaker 1: let's go with our so we go, do just do
- 44:56Speaker 1: the winners or do we go second and first? Let's
- 45:01Speaker 1: go winners? Okay, what's your number one?
- 45:11Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah, yeah, I don't know because I.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Like, well, you can only pick one.
- 45:16Speaker 4: I like the food and beverage is better at the
- 45:20Speaker 4: eighteen twelve, but I like the environment better at the
- 45:29Speaker 4: half pint.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Well, you have to pick one. Who's your winner?
- 45:36Speaker 4: I'm gonna say my winners a half pint because I
- 45:38Speaker 4: like to be able to get up and move around
- 45:39Speaker 4: and do things and not just be sitting in a
- 45:43Speaker 4: chair the whole time, you know what I mean? Yeah,
- 45:46Speaker 4: for what we were there for. If you were going
- 45:48Speaker 4: to sit down and eat, I would say eighteen twelve.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I guess there's no entertainment factor. But I
- 45:54Speaker 1: don't know. I really enjoyed eighteen twelve. I like the
- 45:57Speaker 1: bartender waitress we had. I thought the food was good,
- 46:00Speaker 1: the the beers they made were good, the atmosphere was good.
- 46:04Speaker 1: It wasn't overly busy. I think it would have went
- 46:06Speaker 1: down a rating like we showed up on a super
- 46:07Speaker 1: busy Friday night and it's packed and loud and whatever.
- 46:11Speaker 1: I just I don't know for that Sunday Funday it
- 46:14Speaker 1: was my one. Pearl Street Pub was my too. It
- 46:17Speaker 1: was a good recommendation. It was just good vibes, chill.
- 46:20Speaker 4: I can go eighteen twelve as one.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Oh you already went and you locked it in, and
- 46:23Speaker 1: you can I think.
- 46:24Speaker 4: You lock it in, I said, I was. There was
- 46:26Speaker 4: two different ways it could go. I think I'll go
- 46:30Speaker 4: eighteen twelve as number one.
- 46:32Speaker 1: There we go. We agreed on our spot, so would
- 46:36Speaker 1: you go back there? Absolutely? Plus, they took one of
- 46:38Speaker 1: our beard was here stickers, so hopefully we see that
- 46:41Speaker 1: thing up. Should have left one for Pearl Street.
- 46:43Speaker 4: I believe there was an exchange.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I got one, but I don't remember what
- 46:47Speaker 1: I did with it.
- 46:48Speaker 4: It's in my purse, it's in your purse.
- 46:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna put that on the sticker door.
- 46:51Speaker 1: And again. It was a fun Sunday, fun day, Meg,
- 46:54Speaker 1: Thanks for hanging out. Hopefully you guys enjoyed the video
- 46:56Speaker 1: a little different than what we had, but it was
- 46:59Speaker 1: fun to make the videos. So with that being said,
- 47:02Speaker 1: we got things to do, places to be. Let's go
- 47:04Speaker 1: explore you ready, ready, let's go find a place. That's
- 47:08Speaker 1: all we got. We're back next week. Meg got some
- 47:11Speaker 1: good leftovers, So any of the kids that are listening,

- 47:16Speaker 1: Everybody, Bye, bar bye knocking.
