- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to KFI A M six forty. The Bill
- 0:03Speaker 1: handles show on demand on the iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: F and now handle on the news. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 0:17Speaker 2: here's bill handle.
- 0:44Speaker 3: KFI AM six forty live everywhere.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Al No, here we go, I dare you?
- 0:50Speaker 4: I go?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Yeah? I didn't turn on the mic. Sorry about that? Yes,
- 0:54Speaker 1: every time. No, yesterday we had all kinds of mic
- 0:56Speaker 1: problems and I was turning things on and off, and
- 0:59Speaker 1: uh so he's.
- 1:00Speaker 5: No different in other things. People ask, you know, hey,
- 1:04Speaker 5: does that happened all the time? I said, I've sat
- 1:05Speaker 5: in the car with him for an hour and a
- 1:07Speaker 5: half because he forgot to turn it on.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Pretty much. Kno, how's the signal coming through? Are in
- 1:14Speaker 1: good shape?
- 1:14Speaker 3: Yeah, you're good. You should mute your zoom though, if
- 1:17Speaker 3: you could.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I could do that.
- 1:19Speaker 3: He put on some pants.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yeah no, well, no, that's out of the question because
- 1:23Speaker 1: you can't see me above the waist. And remember that
- 1:28Speaker 1: we are when we auctioned off the broadcast for a
- 1:34Speaker 1: listener to come to join us. How'd that do? By
- 1:37Speaker 1: the way, it looks like we are going to finish
- 1:40Speaker 1: up in fifty two thousand dollars.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Holy Oh, that's like eleven thousand more than yesterday.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it is. We finally figured it all out. People.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Did you want to take a minute and call John
- 1:53Speaker 5: Cobalt and Gary and Shannon?
- 1:55Speaker 3: I mean, because I don't know if they're awake.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Gary. Yeah, but that's pretty Although, come on, and it's
- 2:00Speaker 1: not exactly fair. You can't. I mean, think about this.
- 2:02Speaker 1: We're gonna have people come over to the house, so
- 2:05Speaker 1: two an extra two or four instead of two? Wow,
- 2:10Speaker 1: that would be four, but I think we have six
- 2:11Speaker 1: people coming. It's not like taking six people to a
- 2:15Speaker 1: ball game. Someone's got to sit with somebody. So it's
- 2:19Speaker 1: really not apples and oranges. But the apples are pretty
- 2:22Speaker 1: impressive in this case. To say the least fifty two
- 2:24Speaker 1: thousand dollars for people to have lunch with us. Wow, Okay,
- 2:31Speaker 1: I don't get it. Yeah, we'll take it, you know you,
- 2:37Speaker 1: we'll take it. That could be the single, well, certainly
- 2:39Speaker 1: is the biggest KFI item we've ever done. It could
- 2:42Speaker 1: be the biggest iHeart item.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Now I'm gonna have to carry it because you know,
- 2:46Speaker 5: ten minutes in Bill's gonna go I'm bored.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Yeah, go go up to the room, no question, about it,
- 2:53Speaker 1: but anyway, part of one of the great things we
- 2:56Speaker 1: can do, and this is what we're offering, not only
- 2:58Speaker 1: the barbecue, but the night set from Lake Industries, you know,
- 3:02Speaker 1: the gourmet and I've set a couple thousand dollars worth
- 3:04Speaker 1: and Zella.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Joking aside, it's incredibly incredibly generous for you to open
- 3:10Speaker 5: your home.
- 3:11Speaker 6: You know what.
- 3:12Speaker 5: I was you because we're close, but it's incredibly generous.
- 3:18Speaker 5: I've never heard any host do anything close to that
- 3:21Speaker 5: before we.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Did that, and we thought we could actually we thought
- 3:25Speaker 1: we could raise some real money for Katerina's Club. And
- 3:28Speaker 1: we've been talking about you and I have been talking
- 3:31Speaker 1: about barbecuing or grilling at my house now you months
- 3:35Speaker 1: and months and doing a broadcast out of the house
- 3:39Speaker 1: where we wouldn't wouldn't be an event. It would simply
- 3:42Speaker 1: be the broadcast because of grilling and the green egg
- 3:46Speaker 1: and just making a big deal out about it. But
- 3:48Speaker 1: for the Fork Report, and it became an easy It
- 3:50Speaker 1: became an easy hit at that point saying, hey, tell
- 3:53Speaker 1: you what, why don't we use it as a as
- 3:55Speaker 1: an auction? I am And that's how that evolved. So
- 3:59Speaker 1: it was it was a fairly easy call and we
- 4:02Speaker 1: get We thought we would get fifteen twenty thousand dollars
- 4:06Speaker 1: at the outside. You remember we had that conversation we
- 4:09Speaker 1: ended up we ended up with fifty two thousand. So, uh,
- 4:12Speaker 1: you know, what can I tell you? All right, let's
- 4:16Speaker 1: say hello to everybody before we start. Neil just said hello,
- 4:20Speaker 1: good morning. And Anne, who was wearing her chargers up, Oh, no, kidding,
- 4:26Speaker 1: put it down all dr. I didn't see it. It
- 4:30Speaker 1: was good, Okay, I assume that means it was cakes, right, paint.
- 4:34Speaker 1: They basically went into overtime. Did they get their W?
- 4:37Speaker 4: Yeah, they got the W and ended an interception thanks
- 4:41Speaker 4: to a pick.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Oh nice.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Now, when you talk about a kit a pick, it's
- 4:50Speaker 1: different with Hispanic players.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Right, No, no, no, no.
- 4:55Speaker 1: No, that's that's that's several that's several levels somewhere else. Yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 1: that is several levels removed in terms of where that
- 5:04Speaker 1: humor went. Good morning, Cono, Good morning Bill. Hey, Amy's
- 5:10Speaker 1: still wondering what the hell went that one? You got
- 5:12Speaker 1: to ask Amy, Oh, don't leave it alone. Let's just
- 5:16Speaker 1: leave it alone, all right. Well, good morning, good morning Bill. Yeah,
- 5:21Speaker 1: we were talking this morning about how much weight I've
- 5:23Speaker 1: lost and Anne has lost in divorces, et cetera. And
- 5:27Speaker 1: I'm down to what one hundred and eighty six No, No,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I am, I am. Well, No, my divorce is done.
- 5:34Speaker 1: But we still have I know, just the way you
- 5:36Speaker 1: said that. Yeah, no, we still have, you know, some
- 5:39Speaker 1: financial stuff. Not not acrimoniously at all, just figuring it out.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I mean, my divorce with Marjorie is we're still very
- 5:47Speaker 1: close and we're very good friends, so that's not a problem.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Just trying to figure out, you know, some of the
- 5:51Speaker 1: last finance stuff because I didn't accountant. That just didn't
- 5:54Speaker 1: do a good job for me in any case. So
- 5:57Speaker 1: I've lost a lot of weight. I'm down to one
- 5:59Speaker 1: hundred and eighty six pounds. And she's not going to.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Take half of the money you raised for Caterina's Club, No.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Two thousand. That was the other issue that she was
- 6:10Speaker 1: going to take it. And I said, you can't do
- 6:13Speaker 1: it because it's for a charity. And she said, frankly,
- 6:17Speaker 1: my dear, I don't give a damn. She had just
- 6:20Speaker 1: watched Gone with the Wind, Good morning, Will, good morning,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and Amy Kno, I got everybody there, Okay, fair enough,
- 6:29Speaker 1: let's see what's going on. So we got the games
- 6:31Speaker 1: we got. I'm trying not to do trying as hard
- 6:34Speaker 1: as we can not to do Trump news. And we're
- 6:37Speaker 1: going to no not in handle on the news. We're
- 6:40Speaker 1: talking about segments in general. I mean, well, yeah, you
- 6:46Speaker 1: talk about okay, well, how about this, it's infiltrated everything. Okay, Okay,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I understood. How about this. What's our first story coming
- 6:54Speaker 1: out in the news, And that's right, it's time for
- 7:02Speaker 1: a handle on the news.
- 7:04Speaker 4: I'm just going to start having you to talk about
- 7:05Speaker 4: things that really just don't matter.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Right Amy, Neil and me. And that's the lead story
- 7:12Speaker 1: is Supreme Court. Yesterday it looked like they're going to
- 7:17Speaker 1: allow the president to fire the head of the Federal
- 7:21Speaker 1: Trade Commission. And this a big deal is being made.
- 7:25Speaker 1: And it should be made of the fact that the
- 7:27Speaker 1: independence of the FTC and the FAA and this when
- 7:31Speaker 1: it became all these very Vpa et cetera, that Congress
- 7:37Speaker 1: said that they should be independent, and what the president
- 7:41Speaker 1: doing he fired the FTC in direct violation of that,
- 7:44Speaker 1: took it to Supreme Court because of course lawsuits by
- 7:47Speaker 1: the fire people were fired is coming up, and it
- 7:50Speaker 1: looks like the court is going to say Congress did
- 7:53Speaker 1: not have the right to do that, that the president
- 7:55Speaker 1: constitutionally has effectively unbridled power because this is the executive branch.
- 8:02Speaker 1: What the uh, the FTC head is saying, even though
- 8:06Speaker 1: I work for you, you can't fire me, and it's
- 8:09Speaker 1: not civil service protected either.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Who is the who is the oversight for the alphabet soup?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Well, that's the whole point. The oversight should be the
- 8:19Speaker 1: executive works for the executive And that's exactly Uh, that's
- 8:23Speaker 1: exactly what the Justice said. Kavanaugh said this and asked
- 8:27Speaker 1: that question, where is the oversight here? If someone is
- 8:31Speaker 1: appointed head of an agency like the FTC, who is
- 8:35Speaker 1: the oversight? Who does that person report to nobody?
- 8:40Speaker 5: Well, then they have ultimate power. Who the person that
- 8:44Speaker 5: doesn't report to anyone?
- 8:45Speaker 1: That is correct? And that's exactly what the Kavanaugh said, Uh,
- 8:49Speaker 1: And that person works for the president. So you know,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and you may agree or disagree, and I think a
- 8:55Speaker 1: lot of people disagree simply because as President Trump arguing
- 8:59Speaker 1: for his powers and he's stretching the power, and the
- 9:02Speaker 1: Supreme Court is a big fan of presidential power. It
- 9:05Speaker 1: just so happens this fan, this court happens they'd be
- 9:08Speaker 1: a big fan. So we'll see and so you're going
- 9:11Speaker 1: to see this law. And now Kevin all also pointed
- 9:14Speaker 1: out or I think it was Justice Roberts, No, it
- 9:15Speaker 1: was Kavanaugh who said, you know, this law was passed
- 9:18Speaker 1: nineteen thirty five when these agencies look nothing like they
- 9:22Speaker 1: do today and the enormous powers these agencies have, and
- 9:27Speaker 1: that is not was not the intent or should not
- 9:29Speaker 1: have been the intent. All right, Moving on to cut
- 9:34Speaker 1: or not to cut, said the moil.
- 9:37Speaker 4: FED watchers are expecting a third.
- 9:40Speaker 6: Rate cut when the FED opens its doors for meetings
- 9:43Speaker 6: their meeting today and tomorrow, and we'll find out tomorrow
- 9:47Speaker 6: if there will be a rate cut for December. It's
- 9:49Speaker 6: not guaranteed, said Chairman Jerome Powell at the last meeting.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Several FED officials have cautioned that the potential tariff driven
- 9:57Speaker 6: inflation pressures shouldn't be dismissed and saying, hey, you know,
- 10:01Speaker 6: things are actually you know, the economy is growing, Equity
- 10:03Speaker 6: markets are all time highs, Unemployment remains very low. So
- 10:07Speaker 6: it doesn't appear that we really.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Need Yeah, we don't. We don't need a ky The
- 10:12Speaker 1: FED cuts or raises the race depending on the factors.
- 10:17Speaker 1: You just talked about, and all these factors indicate no cut.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Yet they're probably going to cut, said the oil.
- 10:26Speaker 5: All right, speaking of cuts, this has to deal with
- 10:29Speaker 5: the FBI. You have agents twelve to be exact, filing
- 10:33Speaker 5: a lawsuit against the FBI and the DOJ. Their whole
- 10:36Speaker 5: concern goes back to twenty twenty during a lot of
- 10:40Speaker 5: racial justice protests and some of these or these agents
- 10:45Speaker 5: taking a knee, and the minute Cash Betel and Attorney
- 10:50Speaker 5: General Pam Bondi got into their positions, they started focusing
- 10:55Speaker 5: on getting rid of people in this category.
- 10:58Speaker 3: So says the lawsuit.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Yeah, a very interesting the argument of lawsuit. First of all,
- 11:03Speaker 1: that was an investigation by the FBI of its own agents,
- 11:07Speaker 1: cleared of all wrongdoing. Also, the argument is that the agents,
- 11:13Speaker 1: and this is again the lawsuit, avoided triggering violence by
- 11:17Speaker 1: assuming a kneeling posture. It was a de escalation move
- 11:21Speaker 1: which brought down the temperature. And Patella is saying you
- 11:25Speaker 1: took a knee relative to what all of I think
- 11:29Speaker 1: was this during a demonstration.
- 11:31Speaker 4: What would have been during the George Lloyd protests.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, And so that's their argument that what we
- 11:38Speaker 1: did is de escalate and cash Betel is saying, too bad.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I mean, it's obviously political. The lawsuit also says argues
- 11:46Speaker 1: that they would not have been fired if they had
- 11:50Speaker 1: political affiliations that were in line with the January sixth defendants.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That's what the lawsuit says.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Just say, you're Catholic and you're praying, Yeah, you.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Could do that, or you play football and you're praying,
- 12:06Speaker 1: you know, Or you played football and you discovered that
- 12:10Speaker 1: the sun really was the center of the innverse. Colin Kapernik, right, Pernicas, Okay,
- 12:16Speaker 1: that's a strike. That's another one. Amy, Yeah, that's another stretch.
- 12:19Speaker 1: It didn't quite work.
- 12:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't get that one either.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Now I understand, Yeah, I got it, okay.
- 12:23Speaker 6: Trump's version of farm aid. The President rolled out a
- 12:27Speaker 6: twelve billion dollar bailout for struggling farmers yesterday, did a
- 12:31Speaker 6: ceremony at the White House, actually a round table at
- 12:33Speaker 6: the White House. He said, we love our farmers, as
- 12:36Speaker 6: you know, the farmers like me. When you put stuff
- 12:39Speaker 6: like that in, it corrects me up. The payments to
- 12:42Speaker 6: the farmers are going to be made by the end
- 12:44Speaker 6: of February. Trump said the money was a small portion
- 12:48Speaker 6: of the revenue the US is taken in from tariffs,
- 12:51Speaker 6: although he said the tariffs made the payments possible. It
- 12:54Speaker 6: was the tariffs that have the farmers kind of struggling
- 12:57Speaker 6: right now.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Yeah, no kidding. Now, are the tariffs being used to
- 13:03Speaker 1: fund this, We don't know. It comes straight out of
- 13:04Speaker 1: the taxpayer, out of the taxpayers, the general it goes
- 13:08Speaker 1: into the general find So I guess that's true. But
- 13:11Speaker 1: the point of this one is he couldn't let this
- 13:14Speaker 1: continue on because he was going to lose the entire
- 13:17Speaker 1: farming community. And all of a sudden, look at the
- 13:20Speaker 1: exceptions that are being placed on these tariffs. Well, we'll
- 13:23Speaker 1: take this one back. We'll take that one back. It's
- 13:25Speaker 1: being super selective of terrorifts, which actually is what should
- 13:29Speaker 1: be done instead of these broad strokes. That's it. We're
- 13:33Speaker 1: done China ten percent across the board fifteen percent, which
- 13:36Speaker 1: is still happening, all right.
- 13:40Speaker 5: So Ukrainian President Voladimir Zelenski met with the leaders from France,
- 13:47Speaker 5: Germany and UK in London yesterday and we had talked
- 13:52Speaker 5: about that yesterday. But the outcome is basically him saying, hey,
- 13:57Speaker 5: we're not giving over any territory Russia.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Period.
- 14:01Speaker 5: He said, he said it this way, no right to
- 14:04Speaker 5: give anything away under Ukrainian international or even moral law.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Well, certainly as far as Ukrainian law is concerned. He
- 14:15Speaker 1: can't sign a deal anyway. He doesn't have the authority.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Let's say, okay, I'll give you most of the dumbas
- 14:22Speaker 1: which is the eastern portion of Ukraine. Doesn't have the
- 14:25Speaker 1: right to do it. And then the problem is, of
- 14:27Speaker 1: course that if he doesn't have the United States backing
- 14:32Speaker 1: up him, Ukraine's going to be a real problem. Europe's
- 14:35Speaker 1: trying to store to step in, but not yet in
- 14:38Speaker 1: terms of the arms. So we'll see what happens. And
- 14:42Speaker 1: the problem is that the president, who is pushing very
- 14:45Speaker 1: hard for a peace plan, is effectively saying the only
- 14:49Speaker 1: way you're going to get a peace plan is to
- 14:50Speaker 1: give Russia what it wants. And that's a tough one.
- 14:55Speaker 1: So we'll see where this one goes.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Calls that a negotiation.
- 14:58Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Designated by DeSantis.
- 15:03Speaker 6: Florida Governor Rond DeSantis has designated one of the largest
- 15:06Speaker 6: Muslim civil rights and advocacy groups in the US as
- 15:09Speaker 6: a foreign terrorist organization. Texas did it last month. The
- 15:13Speaker 6: order instructs Florida agencies to prevent the Muslim Brotherhood and
- 15:18Speaker 6: the Council on American Islamic Relations and those who've provided
- 15:22Speaker 6: the material support from receiving contracts, employment and funds from
- 15:25Speaker 6: a state executive or cabinet agency.
- 15:29Speaker 1: You know, I got into it with care remember Neil,
- 15:32Speaker 1: with the Council of Ideal Relations, and at that point
- 15:36Speaker 1: I accuse them of being pro terrorists, not terrorists themselves,
- 15:41Speaker 1: but being in favor of terrorism. And we I mean,
- 15:43Speaker 1: it went on in our winds of minds.
- 15:45Speaker 5: You're not the first last, or only one that has
- 15:47Speaker 5: said that that they might have funneled money.
- 15:49Speaker 1: And I don't know, and we don't know, but they
- 15:53Speaker 1: have developed a reputation of more peacemakers than anything else,
- 15:58Speaker 1: or more a peace advocacy group. That's their reputation now.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And as far as the Muslim Brotherhood is concerned, that
- 16:04Speaker 1: was established in Egypt, and that was a strell. It
- 16:09Speaker 1: was considered it was a terrorist organization. That's simple. You know,
- 16:12Speaker 1: one man's freedom fire fighter is another man's terrorists. It
- 16:17Speaker 1: depends on which side of your.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Care exist prior to nine to eleven or were they
- 16:21Speaker 5: something that rose afterwards.
- 16:24Speaker 1: You know, I don't know, well, I don't know. I
- 16:28Speaker 1: don't know. I guess that existed before on nine to eleven.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I think care has been around for.
- 16:32Speaker 4: A while June of nineteen ninety four.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Oh okay, I'm just curious as to what can dance
- 16:37Speaker 5: was on nine to eleven, because if you remember, there
- 16:41Speaker 5: wasn't a whole lot of rush.
- 16:44Speaker 3: By many parts of the Muslim community to condemn it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: And I think that was one of one of the
- 16:50Speaker 1: big issues at a time. I'm trying. This was a
- 16:52Speaker 1: long time ago. I mean, we're talking going back thirty
- 16:55Speaker 1: years over that. But yeah, memory serves that was I
- 16:59Speaker 1: think our big bitch. We didn't accuse them of actually
- 17:02Speaker 1: doing anything or supporting financially in any other way the terrorism,
- 17:07Speaker 1: but just them saying, look at their side, and there
- 17:11Speaker 1: is no their side on when it came to nine eleven.
- 17:14Speaker 4: All right, Well this blows. A federal judge on Monday.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Struck down the Trump administration's ban on federal permits for
- 17:23Speaker 6: wind energy projects. Supporters say it's an important victory for
- 17:28Speaker 6: the renewable energy industry. Trump issued the ban on his
- 17:35Speaker 6: first day in office through an executive order. It called
- 17:37Speaker 6: for the temporary withdrawal of nearly all federal land and
- 17:40Speaker 6: waters from new or renewed wind energy leasing. The challenge
- 17:45Speaker 6: brought by seventeen attorneys general, including California. The US district
- 17:51Speaker 6: judge in the District of Massachusetts ruled that the ban
- 17:54Speaker 6: is arbitrary and capricious and contrary to law.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Now, a couple of things about this. One. Number one
- 18:03Speaker 1: is the president also stop the funding of projects that
- 18:08Speaker 1: we're getting federal money. For example, there's one huge one
- 18:10Speaker 1: I think outside of New Jersey that was just nine finished,
- 18:14Speaker 1: stopped at cold because it was federal money. And then
- 18:18Speaker 1: here is the argument about these leases. Lease. According to
- 18:20Speaker 1: this LA Time story, these leases lead to grave harm,
- 18:25Speaker 1: including negative effects on national security, transportation, and commercial interests.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Leases to power for wind power is of grave national security.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I don't know where that connects, but so be it.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of how you know. I can see, hey,
- 18:46Speaker 1: we don't want wind power because I'm in favor of
- 18:49Speaker 1: fossil fuels and I like Chevron a lot more than
- 18:51Speaker 1: I like whatever wind power company is out there. But
- 18:55Speaker 1: national security, how is that? Where does that connect? And
- 19:03Speaker 1: I don't know the answer.
- 19:04Speaker 5: To that, all right, Jimmy Kimmel you know, all this
- 19:08Speaker 5: hubbub that happened back gosh, some months back might have
- 19:14Speaker 5: been good for him at least for an extension for
- 19:17Speaker 5: another year.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Because that's what he got.
- 19:20Speaker 5: He signed a one year contract extension with ABC, so
- 19:24Speaker 5: Jimmy Kimmellive will continue through May twenty twenty seven. Previous
- 19:29Speaker 5: contract was set to expire May twenty twenty six.
- 19:34Speaker 3: But one year, that seems measley.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I alway about to say the same thing.
- 19:39Speaker 1: One year extension usually you think of it seems total
- 19:42Speaker 1: toast go for multiple years, ye five years.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Contra passed the memory and maybe and boot him.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Well, you know, I don't know if it's true or not,
- 19:52Speaker 1: because are they all losing money or or not? Is
- 19:55Speaker 1: Late Night now losing money?
- 19:58Speaker 6: Well? There was a lot of talk that Colbert was
- 20:01Speaker 6: using millions of dollars or is losing millions of dollars
- 20:04Speaker 6: a year.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Yeah, these are not cheap to produce. I mean you
- 20:07Speaker 1: look at Jimmy Fallon all right. There he was talking
- 20:11Speaker 1: about his show and what it costs to produce his show.
- 20:15Speaker 1: There is one guy standing up and you got a
- 20:16Speaker 1: bunch of guests showing up. I mean, how how inexpensively.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Can you possibly make it? You can't get cheaper than that.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Two hundred and fifty people work on that show.
- 20:26Speaker 5: Absolutely, those those shows, it's I mean, you've got tons of.
- 20:30Speaker 3: People working on those shows to do it right.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Like we do here. We have hundreds and hundreds of
- 20:35Speaker 1: people working on this show. Don't wait, that's yeah, that's
- 20:40Speaker 1: and that's Anne pretty much. I wish they'd do something then.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I know they used to. You know, we used to
- 20:45Speaker 1: have producers and assistant producers all over the place. All
- 20:51Speaker 1: those days are changed. You know, it's it's difficult and
- 20:54Speaker 1: to puss that's true, thank.
- 20:57Speaker 4: You, Okay. Fun fact, Kimmel's ratings spiked when he.
- 21:02Speaker 6: Came back on the air after he was taken off,
- 21:04Speaker 6: to like six million, but by early October now they're
- 21:09Speaker 6: under two million, and those are below his Q two numbers.
- 21:14Speaker 5: Yeah, it's the.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Late night is not what it used to be in
- 21:18Speaker 3: any way, shape or formed.
- 21:19Speaker 1: So what is what is? Local news isn't what it
- 21:22Speaker 1: used to be. National news isn't what it used to be.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Morning radio show, morning radio is certainly not what it
- 21:28Speaker 1: used to be. Well, especially after I got the gig
- 21:32Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety three then it started collapsing. I understand that.
- 21:35Speaker 1: But at the same time, life has changed in many, many,
- 21:40Speaker 1: many mini ways.
- 21:44Speaker 4: It's electric. Boogie ugy ugy, not a song.
- 21:49Speaker 6: New hospital at uc Irvine is going to open tomorrow
- 21:52Speaker 6: and it's going to be all electric. It's only the
- 21:55Speaker 6: second medical center in the US, and it's the largest
- 21:58Speaker 6: one in the US so far. U CI Health Vine
- 22:01Speaker 6: will have one hundred and forty four beds and again
- 22:04Speaker 6: entirely electric, no gas power.
- 22:07Speaker 1: You watch, starting next year, I'm going to get calls
- 22:09Speaker 1: on Handle on the Law from someone whose mother was
- 22:13Speaker 1: fried on one of these beds because she was electrocuted,
- 22:17Speaker 1: and it's going to be a really interesting case.
- 22:20Speaker 6: Yes, or they lose power because the gas the way
- 22:23Speaker 6: they have generator.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah, by law, they have to have backup generators and
- 22:27Speaker 1: those are going to be gas fired. And that's another
- 22:29Speaker 1: issue which we're going to talk about a little later on,
- 22:31Speaker 1: because you have so many of these utilities, etc. Have
- 22:35Speaker 1: to have backup and they're all fossil fuels, fossil fueled
- 22:39Speaker 1: and there's a whole formula there. All right, No one more.
- 22:43Speaker 5: There's an AI meme of somebody driving a Tesla with
- 22:47Speaker 5: a gas power generator in the back, going to the plug.
- 22:52Speaker 5: All righty, it looks like maybe Congress is taking something
- 22:56Speaker 5: out of President Trump's playbook. They have this massive defense bill,
- 23:03Speaker 5: policy bill, and it's got this provision in it that
- 23:06Speaker 5: would limit Defense Secretary Pete Haigsa's travel budget unless he
- 23:11Speaker 5: provides the House and Senate Armed Services Committee with an
- 23:17Speaker 5: unedited video of the US military strikes in the Caribbean.
- 23:22Speaker 5: So this is kind of the Hey, you don't do
- 23:24Speaker 5: what we say, you don't get the money.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it's I mean, it's not specifically, if you don't
- 23:29Speaker 1: give us the edit un edited version, we're going to
- 23:31Speaker 1: withhold money. It gives them the power to withhold money.
- 23:35Speaker 1: And we'll see if they if they use it, if
- 23:38Speaker 1: Congress does, in fact, to your point, if they use
- 23:41Speaker 1: that bill to force Pete heads says to release the
- 23:46Speaker 1: video and us do with that double tap back that
- 23:49Speaker 1: has to do with the double tap. I think that
- 23:51Speaker 1: they're not going to release it or fight like craziest
- 23:53Speaker 1: like the Epstein trial, like the Epstein file. Oh yes, yes, yes,
- 23:56Speaker 1: we'll release, will release, Will releases. Anybody's seen that file
- 23:59Speaker 1: by the way, yet it's about another weeks ago, give
- 24:02Speaker 1: or take or you know, ten days trickling.
- 24:05Speaker 5: There was some pictures in some video that came out
- 24:08Speaker 5: recently but never liked them.
- 24:09Speaker 1: No, and this one, yeah, if it turns out that well,
- 24:15Speaker 1: let me let me put it this way. We had
- 24:18Speaker 1: two conservatives, two liberals through, two Democrats, two Republicans who
- 24:24Speaker 1: the leadership who saw that video right, The Republicans said,
- 24:27Speaker 1: oh no, they were overturning the boat. They were trying
- 24:30Speaker 1: to get back on. They were going to attack US forces.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I mean just on and on on that boat. They
- 24:36Speaker 1: had the world's first and only anti aircraft battery that
- 24:41Speaker 1: works underwater that you can't see. I mean it goes
- 24:44Speaker 1: on and on where the Democrats saying, hey, these guys
- 24:47Speaker 1: were just hanging on to debris and they were killed. Okay,
- 24:52Speaker 1: release the video. Let us see that because we've gotten
- 24:54Speaker 1: two versions. Now, Yes, they were still attacking. I don't
- 24:57Speaker 1: know how or were prepared to or know they were
- 25:00Speaker 1: just innocent guys. And you watch the President said, oh, yeah,
- 25:04Speaker 1: we're released it. That was a week ago. Now. He said, well,
- 25:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna let heg Set decide.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Heg Set said, it doesn't make them innocent. It just
- 25:11Speaker 3: means that we weren't allowed to shoot them.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that was no. And I'm not saying they're innocent.
- 25:17Speaker 1: They were drug runners. I mean there's no question about that.
- 25:20Speaker 1: It's does law allow you to shoot at and kill
- 25:25Speaker 1: combatants who are no longer a threat? No?
- 25:29Speaker 3: You called this early on.
- 25:30Speaker 5: You said, if you've got the videos of hitting these targets,
- 25:35Speaker 5: because they keep putting them out, you've got the one
- 25:37Speaker 5: of you hitting the second target.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, No, they have it. They just won't release
- 25:42Speaker 1: that one video. And hegg says said, we're looking at it.
- 25:45Speaker 1: We have to be very careful in how we release it. Okay,
- 25:48Speaker 1: moving on.
- 25:49Speaker 6: These aren't your grandma's gummy bears. As you know, marijuana
- 25:54Speaker 6: edibles look like candy. And guess what kids are getting
- 25:58Speaker 6: into it. Seven students at a junior high in Prince
- 26:03Speaker 6: George County, Virginia got sick last month after they ate
- 26:06Speaker 6: edibles infused with THHC. A DC middle school student took
- 26:10Speaker 6: an edible to school and shared it with several classmates.
- 26:13Speaker 6: At least one had to go to the hospital, and apparently,
- 26:16Speaker 6: as the number of states allow adult recreational cannabis use,
- 26:21Speaker 6: the number of kids who are getting sick.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Going up to yeah, seven fifty, I'm doing that story
- 26:27Speaker 1: and a personal story about this that happened to me.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Ee happened to me yesterday? You wow, yeah, I know
- 26:36Speaker 1: it is. Oh yeah, just happened yesterday, right in line
- 26:39Speaker 1: with this story. And I will explain coming up a
- 26:42Speaker 1: seven fifty, And it's a good one. Even you guys
- 26:44Speaker 1: are going to say, oh, yeah, that's pretty good because
- 26:46Speaker 1: usually never do you want to Definitely, will you let
- 26:52Speaker 1: me know, Amy, will you remind me?
- 26:53Speaker 4: I remind you?
- 26:54Speaker 1: Thanks, thank you? All right, reminding everybody? Go ahead.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Okay, so you know, we all get old and you
- 27:00Speaker 5: got the wrinkles, the thinning hair, of course, little aches
- 27:04Speaker 5: and pains and all of that, and the brain slows down.
- 27:06Speaker 5: But scientists at Texas A and M University they're looking
- 27:12Speaker 5: at away. They've discovered a way to recharge aging damaged cells.
- 27:18Speaker 5: So this is like going to like the source. And
- 27:23Speaker 5: that means that the you know, certain conditions like Alzheimer's
- 27:26Speaker 5: and muscular dystrophe and even fatty liver disease could be.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Reversed.
- 27:36Speaker 1: That's pretty science.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Crazy on the cellular level.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Yeah, the science is incredible. We're just right on the verge. I,
- 27:43Speaker 1: I had heard and I believe this that kids that
- 27:45Speaker 1: are born today will easily live to one.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Hundred Oh yeah, I would imagine.
- 27:51Speaker 1: And during our lifetime, assuming we don't pop off next week,
- 27:57Speaker 1: we're going to see at least that's what we're told
- 27:59Speaker 1: by science, is one hundred and ten hundred and twenty
- 28:02Speaker 1: years of age. And then the trick, of course, is
- 28:04Speaker 1: the quality of life. That's a whole another one, you know,
- 28:06Speaker 1: where we that's a big issue that we have to
- 28:09Speaker 1: deal with. Yeah.
- 28:09Speaker 4: But if this, if it regenerates the cell.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and maybe it regenerates brain cells.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:15Speaker 1: At the same time, can you imagine, can you imagine
- 28:19Speaker 1: we're here fifty years from now, still telling the same
- 28:23Speaker 1: bad jokes.
- 28:24Speaker 6: Guess how much money we earned for from Katerina's club
- 28:27Speaker 6: for my backyard barbecue?
- 28:29Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. All right, it's do one more, one more?
- 28:34Speaker 4: Can you say preferential treatment? Maybe maybe not.
- 28:38Speaker 6: US immigration judge has ordered the release of a Brazilian
- 28:41Speaker 6: woman who has family ties to White House Press Secretary
- 28:45Speaker 6: Caroline Levett.
- 28:47Speaker 4: So.
- 28:47Speaker 6: She was taken to a Defend detention center in Louisiana
- 28:51Speaker 6: after immigration officers arrested her in Massachusetts on November twelfth.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Their name is Bruna for Ferrera.
- 29:00Speaker 6: He was on a way to pick up her son
- 29:01Speaker 6: from school and was taken to the processing center. The
- 29:04Speaker 6: White House said that Farrea Ferreira had not spoken to
- 29:08Speaker 6: Caroline love It in years, and that Ferrara had never
- 29:11Speaker 6: lived with her son.
- 29:12Speaker 4: But still she has been granted bond.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Yeah, which we'll see how far this one goes.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Also, keep in mind immigration judges are not independent judges.
- 29:23Speaker 1: They work for the government, So that's for starters. And
- 29:27Speaker 1: second of all, what is that story that Anne gave
- 29:30Speaker 1: me this morning out of I think The Atlantic or
- 29:34Speaker 1: New York magazine about you know, remember we had that
- 29:38Speaker 1: lady on who had her son in law was picked up,
- 29:43Speaker 1: and I think's Orange County Register just had a huge
- 29:45Speaker 1: story about that and the way he was treated. And
- 29:48Speaker 1: what makes me think is, well, here's a stat for
- 29:52Speaker 1: you from the Department of Health and Human Services, all right,
- 29:55Speaker 1: right from DHS, they're telling us that seventy three percent
- 30:00Speaker 1: of those people that are picked up, that have been
- 30:02Speaker 1: detained do not have a criminal record of any kind.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Yet Christinom says, all we're picking up is the worst
- 30:11Speaker 1: of the worst but wait a minute. You say, seventy
- 30:14Speaker 1: three percent don't have a criminal record. The response, the
- 30:17Speaker 1: worst of the worst is who we're going after? All right,
- 30:22Speaker 1: seventy three percent. All right, we're done. And by the way,
- 30:24Speaker 1: of course, anybody connected to the administration is going to
- 30:28Speaker 1: be looked at very, very differently. I'm surprised she was
- 30:30Speaker 1: picked up at all. If they knew who she was,
- 30:34Speaker 1: why would they even pick her up with a connection
- 30:36Speaker 1: to Caroline Levitt? All right, we're done, guys. This is
- 30:39Speaker 1: KFI AM six forty. You've been listening to the Bill
- 30:43Speaker 1: Handle Show. Catch My Show Monday through Friday six am
