- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:09here. Last time, we learned about Ruth, a woman
- 0:14who chose to follow God faithfully, even when
- 0:17life was hard. And God used her story to bring
- 0:22joy to Naomi and to prepare the way for King
- 0:24David, and even Jesus. Today, We begin a brand
- 0:30new story. It's about a little boy named Samuel,
- 0:34someone not much older than you, who learned
- 0:37how to listen to God's voice. Are you ready?
- 0:42Let's hear his story. Before Samuel was even
- 0:57born, his mother Hannah prayed for him. She had
- 1:02no children and asked God to give her a son.
- 1:06She promised God that if he gave her a son, she
- 1:10would give the son back to serve God for all
- 1:13his life. God heard her prayer, and Samuel was
- 1:17born. When Samuel was still very young, Hannah
- 1:21brought him to the tabernacle. the special tent
- 1:24where people worshipped God. There, Samuel lived
- 1:29and served under the priest Eli. One night, while
- 1:33Samuel was sleeping, he suddenly heard a voice.
- 1:38Samuel Samuel woke up. He thought Eli was calling,
- 1:45so he ran to him and said, Here I am. But Eli
- 1:51said, I didn't call you. Go back and lie down.
- 1:58Samuel lay down again. Soon, the voice came a
- 2:03second time. Samuel Again, he ran to Eli. Here
- 2:11I am. You called me. Again, Eli said. I didn't
- 2:19call you. Go back and lie down. A third time,
- 2:24the voice called. Samuel Samuel hurried to Eli
- 2:30again. This time, Eli realized something special
- 2:35was happening. It was not Eli calling, it was
- 2:39God himself. So Eli told Samuel. Go back and
- 2:45lie down. If he calls you again, say, Speak Lord.
- 2:51for your servant is listening." Samuel returned
- 2:55to bed, his heart probably beating fast. Then
- 2:59the voice came again. Samuel! Samuel! This time,
- 3:07Samuel answered just as Eli taught him. Speak
- 3:12Lord, for your servant is listening. And God
- 3:16spoke to Samuel. From that day on, Samuel began
- 3:21to hear God's voice and deliver his messages
- 3:24to the people of Israel. He grew up to become
- 3:27one of God's most important prophets. Isn't that
- 3:35amazing? Samuel was just a boy, but God still
- 3:40chose to speak to him. And Samuel listened. Let's
- 3:45think about a few things together. Samuel listened
- 4:00carefully. What are some ways you can listen
- 4:04to God today? for your servant is listening.
- 4:22That's a prayer you can say too. God doesn't
- 4:26just use grown -ups. He can use you, even now.
- 4:33Thanks for joining me today. Next time on Wonderfully
- 4:37Made, we'll continue Samuel's story and learn
- 4:41how he grew into a leader who guided God's people.
- 4:45Until then, remember, You are wonderfully made,
- 4:49and God hears you when you call to Him. Bye for
- 4:53now.
