- 0:00Speaker 1: This is KISS Breakfast. You're on KISS. Good morning, Mikey,
- 0:04Speaker 1: Amy Gerard, and Amy's got to hear the celeb news.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Yes, I do. So it's been three years since Friends
- 0:11Speaker 2: star Matthew Perry very sadly passed away. He was only
- 0:14Speaker 2: 54 years old.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Drug overdose.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so it was.
- 0:18Speaker 1: the acute.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Effects of ketamine with accidental drowning.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, because he was in a spa or something.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Horrible.
- 0:25Speaker 2: So five individuals, including his live-in personal assistant, two medical doctors,
- 0:31Speaker 2: and a supplier known as the Ketamine Queen, were all prosecuted.
- 0:37Speaker 2: They all pleaded guilty, and all five of them are
- 0:39Speaker 2: now in jail.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Yeah, because if you provide someone with drugs and.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It kills them. And they die, yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 1: It's your fault, yeah.
- 0:46Speaker 2: It's so sad. And I think he tried so hard
- 0:49Speaker 2: to get sober and, yeah, it's really, really tragic.
- 0:51Speaker 1: They were preying on him. Yeah.
- 0:53Speaker 3: He wrote, his latest book was him talking about being sober.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 0:58Speaker 4: Yeah. Just didn't last.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Well, some of it might have been fabricated. He might
- 1:03Speaker 3: have been, you know, continuing on.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Yeah, the whole time.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 1: A lot of addicts do it in secret.
- 1:07Speaker 3: You never know, you know.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, the fact that, you know, he's living in
- 1:11Speaker 2: personal assistance. How did two medical doctors, how do they.
- 1:16Speaker 1: But Michael Jackson's doctor was the same. He was giving
- 1:18Speaker 1: him like basically anesthetic and they got him. I think
- 1:22Speaker 1: he went to jail as well. Yeah. He was paid.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I believe he was paying him 200 K a year
- 1:27Speaker 1: from memory just to supply a table. Yeah. And you know,
- 1:31Speaker 1: the doctor's thinking, oh, well I'm seeing the money.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Anyway, they're doing a kind of Netflix series on Matthew.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It's called The One About Matthew Perry. So you know
- 1:44Speaker 2: all the Friends series, each episode was the one about
- 1:49Speaker 2: Ross and Rachel, the one about Phoebe.
- 1:51Speaker 1: This is The One About Him.
- 1:53Speaker 2: The One About Matthew Perry. The trailer for the series
- 1:56Speaker 2: dropped overnight. Have a listen.
- 1:57Speaker 4: All great stories have comedy and tragedy in them. And
- 2:01Speaker 4: that certainly was Matthew's story. I was extremely happy when
- 2:06Speaker 4: I got famous.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Then I was like, uh-oh, this didn't fix what's inside me.
- 2:10Speaker 4: This didn't do what I thought it was going to do.
- 2:13Speaker 4: My brother would talk about that feeling of emptiness or
- 2:16Speaker 4: loneliness that he couldn't quite fill. He spent $ 7 million
- 2:22Speaker 4: trying to get sober. That's how seriously he took his disease.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Well, there you go, Sean. $ 7 million trying to get sober.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 3: And obviously he'd struggled with this since the 90s.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Even before Friends? Even before.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. He had just struggled with it forever. And
- 2:38Speaker 3: like I said, his book that he was promoting at
- 2:40Speaker 3: the time when he died, I'm pretty sure it sort
- 2:44Speaker 3: of wraps up with him saying, look, I'm sober now.
- 2:46Speaker 3: And obviously only to find out the way that he
- 2:49Speaker 3: ended up going.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So sad.
- 2:51Speaker 1: A lot of people will want to watch that on Netflix.
- 2:53Speaker 1: That'll be a big docker. Yeah, definitely.
- 2:55Speaker 2: And Andy Cohen, he's the American television host, best known
- 2:58Speaker 2: for hosting the late night talk shows, Watch What Happens
- 3:01Speaker 2: Live with Andy Cohen, you know, with all the reality
- 3:04Speaker 2: stars of Salt Lake City and all that on Bravo.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I think he produced a bunch of it, didn't he, Chelsea? Yeah, so.
- 3:12Speaker 1: He also executive produced the Real Housewives series. There you go.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Big sort of gay character. He's outlandish and stuff.
- 3:19Speaker 2: And he's doing really well for himself. His net worth's
- 3:21Speaker 2: about 50 mil.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Oh, that's good.
- 3:23Speaker 2: So he's doing okay.
- 3:24Speaker 1: 50 mil US.
- 3:26Speaker 2: 50 mil US dollars. Anyway, Andy's got two kids, a
- 3:29Speaker 2: seven and a four-year-old, and he's just revealed how much
- 3:32Speaker 2: he pays his babysitter.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Oh, okay. So he's worth 50 mil. What does he pay?
- 3:38Speaker 2: He pays his babysitter $ 30 an hour.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I mean, you don't get rich by writing a bunch
- 3:44Speaker 1: of checks.
- 3:45Speaker 2: But, like, that is wild because I've got one extra
- 3:48Speaker 2: kid and I pay more than that. Yeah.
- 3:50Speaker 1: He's ripping them off.
- 3:51Speaker 2: He is ripping off.
- 3:52Speaker 1: What do you pay for a babysitter?
- 3:54Speaker 2: I pay $ 50 an hour.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Is that kind of standard?
- 3:57Speaker 2: I think... Like if you're getting a proper babysitter, like
- 4:01Speaker 2: if I'm getting my next-door neighbours who are just young
- 4:04Speaker 2: teenagers and I'll do all the grunt, I'll do dinner
- 4:08Speaker 2: and shower them, they just have to kind of put
- 4:10Speaker 2: them into bed, they kind of get $ 20 in bags
- 4:13Speaker 2: of clothes from me, right?
- 4:14Speaker 1: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 2: But if you're paying like a... preschool educator or an
- 4:19Speaker 2: actual babysitter.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Someone in the babysitter's club.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Oh, the babysitter's club, yeah. I think it's anywhere between,
- 4:25Speaker 2: like for me and three kids, it's anywhere between $ 45
- 4:28Speaker 2: and $ 50 an hour. I always just round up because
- 4:30Speaker 2: my three kids can sometimes be a handful.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Chelsea's got the average. Yeah, so apparently the Australian average
- 4:38Speaker 1: for a babysitter is $ 25 to $ 40 an hour. But
- 4:41Speaker 1: how old are those people? We don't know.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And you're going above to about $ 50. I, yes, I will.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Like I had to get a babysitter to come on
- 4:52Speaker 2: Monday because Ryan had to go to work and I
- 4:53Speaker 2: had to be in here. So she had to be
- 4:55Speaker 2: at my house at 7.30.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, for her to be worth her while. Yes.
- 4:59Speaker 1: But that guy's paying $ 30. $ 30.
- 5:03Speaker 2: He was chatting to an American interior designer by the
- 5:05Speaker 2: name of Jeff Lewis, to which Jeff called him cheap.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And Jeff said, I probably would have given her $ 100
- 5:11Speaker 2: for two hours with two kids.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 1: But he is. He's ripping them off.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you know, some people who earn the most money,
- 5:22Speaker 2: they are quite often the tightest.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Oh, I know. I know someone who's really well off.
- 5:26Speaker 1: So do I. And they're a real freaking tight ass.
- 5:29Speaker 4: So do I.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
