Transcript
- 0:29Speaker 1: The exciting thing about the story of Samson and his
- 0:31Speaker 1: plight and his debacle and all that he went through
- 0:34Speaker 1: is that sometimes our principles are compromised in the process
- 0:39Speaker 1: of living. And you don't live up to your highest
- 0:42Speaker 1: ideals as Samson did. And consequently, he really went through
- 0:46Speaker 1: a lot of pain and a lot of turmoil at
- 0:50Speaker 1: the particular point in his life that he gets a
- 0:52Speaker 1: second chance. It is good news to him. And it
- 0:56Speaker 1: is my hope that it will resonate with the audience
- 0:58Speaker 1: as well because his good news reflects on us. Because
- 1:03Speaker 1: we must walk away from looking at Samson knowing that
- 1:05Speaker 1: God is a God of second chances. He gave one
- 1:09Speaker 1: to Samson and he could give one to you. Thank you.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I'm weak.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Send me again something.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Samson is blinded and he is vulnerable physically, but he
- 1:45Speaker 1: is more astute spiritually than he has ever been in
- 1:49Speaker 1: his life. It's something about adversity that either breaks you
- 1:53Speaker 1: or blesses you. It brings out the best in you.
- 1:56Speaker 1: And so, although he is not a sighted person at
- 1:59Speaker 1: this point, he is more keenly and more adeptly in
- 2:04Speaker 1: view of God's purpose for his life than he has
- 2:07Speaker 1: ever been before. Lord, if I am yours, remember me now.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Strengthen me once more. Your God has abandoned you, Samson.
- 2:29Speaker 1: You are the man who took away my eyes.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I am glad of it, for the darkness helps me think.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Your God has deserted you and taken your strength with him.
- 2:47Speaker 1: No.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I can see him more clearly than ever.
- 2:55Speaker 1: He wants me.
- 2:57Speaker 2: To destroy you.
- 3:01Speaker 1: All!
- 3:04Speaker 2: It's over, Samson! Stop him! Kill him! Now!
- 4:07Speaker 1: The thing that resonates most with me and hopefully with
- 4:11Speaker 1: those who view it is that you don't have to
- 4:14Speaker 1: have the support of the crowd. You may be jeered at,
- 4:19Speaker 1: scoffed and laughed, beat and scorned, but if you know
- 4:24Speaker 1: who you are and you know whose you are, you
- 4:28Speaker 1: can rise above your failures and their inability to understand
- 4:33Speaker 1: who you are and be blessed with a second chance.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It is a powerful, powerful depiction that you don't let
- 4:42Speaker 1: stumbling blocks on the road to destiny deter your commitment
- 4:46Speaker 1: to ultimately reach your goal.
- 4:54Speaker 2: How did this happen?
- 4:56Speaker 1: What are we going to do? Change the world.
- 5:09Speaker 2: He will bring a new age of righteousness and justice.
- 5:12Speaker 2: His power will draw all men.
- 5:14Speaker 1: To a new world. All people!
