If you were born before June 27, 1960, you’re getting a winter energy boost—up to £300 to help cover heating costs as prices soar. The Winter Fuel Payment is automatic for most, but if you earn over £35,000, it’ll be reclaimed via tax. Scotland has its own scheme. Care home residents may qualify—but certain benefits like Universal Credit could disqualify you. You’ll get a letter by October/November; if not, claim early.
