- 0:02Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it's your favorite time
- 0:04Speaker 1: of week. You get to download the crazy sheets, spend
- 0:07Speaker 1: some time with Scotty and Mark talking about some college football.
- 0:10Speaker 1: I'm in the studio. Scotty's at home. Wow.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Wow.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Wow. How about that last weekend?
- 0:18Speaker 2: What a week. I mean, was that not crazy? I mean,
- 0:21Speaker 2: I don't think anybody had Georgia losing on their bingo card.
- 0:28Speaker 2: That's last name is not. Shug Jordan or Dyle or,
- 0:36Speaker 2: I mean, just crazy. I mean, that was crazy. Man,
- 0:40Speaker 2: Kentucky OU. Kentucky finding a way to keep getting it done.
- 0:45Speaker 2: I mean, that is wild. Ole Miss put it on Missouri.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I mean, finally that Ole Miss defense made it look
- 0:55Speaker 2: like they were capable of something. Bama could do nothing.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Against Big Orange. I mean, that was a shocker. I mean,
- 1:04Speaker 2: Kamario Taylor not playing for Mississippi State. That's the easiest
- 1:07Speaker 2: 14 points you could have ever laid. All of my
- 1:09Speaker 2: friends were– we had friends at the market. They're like, oh,
- 1:13Speaker 2: I bet we stay within the number. I'm like, okay.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I mean, that made my whole weekend how much I
- 1:20Speaker 2: bet on that game. So, I mean, it was great.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Ohio State, Indiana. Ohio State now down Julian Sane. I mean,
- 1:31Speaker 2: several questions. What's that do for Texas' strength of schedule
- 1:34Speaker 2: if they go on to lose another game or two?
- 1:37Speaker 2: Because I think that's entirely likely. I have to tell you,
- 1:41Speaker 2: when they went for it, they got the ball first
- 1:44Speaker 2: and goal inside the two. Ryan Day, I don't care
- 1:49Speaker 2: how many national championships he wins. I don't care. I
- 1:53Speaker 2: don't care if he's listening. He's a dumbass. The first
- 1:58Speaker 2: three plays, Jeremiah Smith, the best player in college football,
- 2:03Speaker 2: is standing on the sideline, and they've got three tight
- 2:06Speaker 2: ends in. You've got the best player in college football
- 2:09Speaker 2: standing on the damn sideline. Oh, they bring him in
- 2:12Speaker 2: on fourth down, and oh, what happens? They get a
- 2:14Speaker 2: guy wide-ass open because they have to triple cover the
- 2:18Speaker 2: best player in college football. And Sane almost made a
- 2:21Speaker 2: bad throw in that pass, and it was almost incomplete,
- 2:24Speaker 2: and they would have lost that ballgame. All because he's
- 2:27Speaker 2: a dumbass. And everybody's going, well, he didn't. Doesn't make
- 2:30Speaker 2: him not– doesn't make him intelligent all of a sudden.
- 2:35Speaker 2: That was horrible. Whoever made those personnel decisions ought to
- 2:38Speaker 2: be fired in Columbus. I mean, that was coaching malfeasance.
- 2:43Speaker 2: It was Smith. That's exactly who it was. And Tennessee
- 2:48Speaker 2: Titan fans, they traded– he's the one that got rid
- 2:52Speaker 2: of A.J. Brown, and they still hadn't recovered. And that
- 2:55Speaker 2: idiot was the Steelers' offense coordinator, and it finally drove
- 2:59Speaker 2: Mike Tomlin into retirement. I'm telling you, that was awful.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Worst thing I saw the entire weekend, Notre Dame loses
- 3:09Speaker 2: to Miami. They have no business in the playoff. They
- 3:13Speaker 2: went and got that ass spanked. I know they had
- 3:15Speaker 2: a chance to win, but BYU didn't have one of
- 3:18Speaker 2: their very best players, too. And being without a stud
- 3:20Speaker 2: running back, That was an impressive win for BYU. I
- 3:26Speaker 2: don't think they're the number two team in the country
- 3:28Speaker 2: because I have eyes. But Notre Dame's got no business
- 3:32Speaker 2: in the playoff if they go get thumped by Miami.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're Notre Dame, there's got to be a
- 3:37Speaker 1: little bit of a pucker factor because that strength of
- 3:39Speaker 1: schedule is not very good. And I know we've been
- 3:42Speaker 1: riding them for a while, and I had a conversation
- 3:45Speaker 1: with a guy who was telling me, The Notre Dame fan, graduate,
- 3:48Speaker 1: goes to games. And he told me before the game,
- 3:50Speaker 1: he said, this team just doesn't look fast to me.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And I was like, really? He's like, no. He goes,
- 3:54Speaker 1: go look at what we've played. He goes, we haven't
- 3:56Speaker 1: beaten anybody good in two years. And he goes, we've
- 3:59Speaker 1: played good teams well. He goes, but we haven't won.
- 4:03Speaker 1: He goes, I don't think we're going to win on
- 4:04Speaker 1: the road. And, I mean, I was on BYU plus
- 4:07Speaker 1: the number at jump on that one just because you're
- 4:10Speaker 1: going to a– that's a great environment for college football.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I'm going to give Utah the state. I'll throw Utah
- 4:18Speaker 1: State in there. Utah, the state, as far as a
- 4:21Speaker 1: college football stadium environment, Rice-Eccles, Provo, I mean, for places
- 4:26Speaker 1: that you can't get your hand bone on and pound
- 4:29Speaker 1: about 80 beers, those dudes get it rocking in there. And,
- 4:32Speaker 1: I mean, it's a true on-field advantage, plus you're at altitude.
- 4:35Speaker 2: No question.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I mean, great environment for BYU in there. And their
- 4:40Speaker 1: game day experience looks fantastic, too.
- 4:42Speaker 2: So, yeah, I mean– I will tell you this on BYU.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I think they're benefiting from the age factor. You know,
- 4:48Speaker 2: the Mormon missions, especially on the line of scrimmage. But
- 4:51Speaker 2: they got more mature players across the board. And as
- 4:54Speaker 2: a result, I think they're beating a lot of these kids.
- 4:57Speaker 2: You got a bunch of dudes out there that have
- 4:58Speaker 2: to grind, that have to work hard. And they're not
- 5:02Speaker 2: the marquee recruits. I will also say, Bachmeier, that dude
- 5:08Speaker 2: could get them to run through a wall. That team
- 5:11Speaker 2: follows him. He's a leader. You got to be impressed
- 5:16Speaker 2: by that. Mark, we can't not talk about... How about
- 5:19Speaker 2: that Florida State-Miami ending? And how about that shitholding call
- 5:23Speaker 2: that didn't get us a two-point conversion to tie that
- 5:27Speaker 2: game and send it to a third overtime? That was
- 5:29Speaker 2: a terrible call. I get why they called it. I
- 5:33Speaker 2: think the kid slipped as much as he was jerked down,
- 5:36Speaker 2: but the ref didn't see it, and he saw an
- 5:38Speaker 2: immediate fall, and he thought the kid got held. But whatever...
- 5:43Speaker 2: It just blocked a guy. He wasn't in danger of
- 5:45Speaker 2: getting to the, that was like calling a backside hold
- 5:49Speaker 2: on an 80 yard run. It went right. And they
- 5:51Speaker 2: call it on the tackle on the left side. And
- 5:54Speaker 2: that guy had, and he was going around the guy's
- 5:56Speaker 2: outside edge. He didn't have any chance to make a play.
- 5:59Speaker 2: It had no bearing on the play and, and it
- 6:03Speaker 2: robbed us of a great, what could have been a
- 6:05Speaker 2: great ending, but then we got the fourth down throw,
- 6:08Speaker 2: and holy smokes, they almost did it again from 10
- 6:10Speaker 2: yards farther back. Wide receiver got his hands on it,
- 6:13Speaker 2: and Miami DB took it in the air. What an
- 6:17Speaker 2: ending to a football game that I'm guessing 90% of
- 6:22Speaker 2: America didn't see. They just saw it on Twitter.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree with you. But the thing is,
- 6:30Speaker 1: last week, let's get back to our big conversation we
- 6:33Speaker 1: had whether Arch was going to get Sark fired or
- 6:36Speaker 1: whether Sark was going to get Sark fired. And you
- 6:39Speaker 1: and I had been debating this off air in conversations
- 6:42Speaker 1: for a bit.
- 6:43Speaker 2: And it's got a great possibility to be both.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Good. But I will say this, the fact that Arch,
- 6:49Speaker 1: I mean, the fact that Sark publicly came out this
- 6:51Speaker 1: week and said, the backup's going to get some one
- 6:54Speaker 1: reps in practice, to me was, Hey, you know, and
- 6:59Speaker 1: I'm all for it because it's like it's like you
- 7:01Speaker 1: and I talked about. They are grown men. They are
- 7:03Speaker 1: getting paid. Are they young men?
- 7:04Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:05Speaker 1: But are they grown? Yeah. And you need to treat
- 7:08Speaker 1: them with like that. It's like, look, man, you are
- 7:11Speaker 1: not getting it done. It's like we got a damn
- 7:13Speaker 1: good football team, but they've now lost Colin Simmons. I
- 7:16Speaker 1: think he's done for the year.
- 7:18Speaker 2: By the way, he's not. I think he's back four
- 7:20Speaker 2: to five weeks is what I heard this week. But Mark,
- 7:24Speaker 2: their season may be over. That's right. Will he come back?
- 7:28Speaker 2: He may mail it in. Two things on that. First,
- 7:32Speaker 2: how about him standing on the field and basically he
- 7:35Speaker 2: is sitting there injured as they're looking at his knee
- 7:38Speaker 2: and he's pointing at the guy that clipped him, you know,
- 7:40Speaker 2: or cut him low and cussing him, calling him up. Oh,
- 7:47Speaker 2: that's beast mode. I mean, look, there are probably people
- 7:52Speaker 2: that frowned on his language or whatever. Great. That dude.
- 7:57Speaker 2: knew he had been hurt, he knew it potentially ended
- 8:00Speaker 2: his career, and he called that guy exactly what he
- 8:03Speaker 2: needed to be called for trying to injure what is
- 8:06Speaker 2: likely the number one pick in the draft if it
- 8:10Speaker 2: doesn't have a serious injury. Second part of that, how
- 8:13Speaker 2: about Sarkeesian and that asshole answer he gave? There's nothing
- 8:18Speaker 2: likeable about Steve Sarkeesian. There's really not. I mean, there's
- 8:22Speaker 2: just like if I'm as a dad– He is one
- 8:26Speaker 2: of the least people I would want my son to
- 8:29Speaker 2: go play for. He's crazy, but I just, I just
- 8:32Speaker 2: don't think he's a leader. Like I don't see things
- 8:34Speaker 2: about him that I, that I want my son to be,
- 8:37Speaker 2: you know? And, and at the end of the day,
- 8:39Speaker 2: you got a guy who's going to have a ton
- 8:41Speaker 2: of influence on kids. I don't know how he recruits
- 8:44Speaker 2: the way he does. I would not, I think it's
- 8:46Speaker 2: because a lot of dads are out of it. Um,
- 8:49Speaker 2: because I don't think there's a lot of dads that want,
- 8:52Speaker 2: I want their kid playing for the art. I don't
- 8:53Speaker 2: know how he, I don't know how he sold the
- 8:55Speaker 2: Mannings to come there because he hasn't developed. One of
- 8:59Speaker 2: two things has happened either. He sucks as a developer,
- 9:03Speaker 2: which we've got a pretty long history of saying it
- 9:05Speaker 2: may be him. Well, look what he did. Alabama, man,
- 9:08Speaker 2: don't talk to me about Alabama. How many coordinators went
- 9:11Speaker 2: through there on offense and defense that have all been
- 9:14Speaker 2: head coaches now? You know, Pete Golding didn't say it
- 9:17Speaker 2: was all Steven. No, great. The guy, uh, Had so
- 9:21Speaker 2: much talent and was such a great coach. He made
- 9:24Speaker 2: all of those people better. I don't want to hear it.
- 9:26Speaker 2: But let's see what Sark does with a marquee guy
- 9:29Speaker 2: that he got in there, hasn't developed at all. And
- 9:33Speaker 2: I just, but that, man, that comment on, I'm going
- 9:37Speaker 2: to give you a chance to change your answer. He's
- 9:39Speaker 2: potentially the number one pick in the draft. But we
- 9:44Speaker 2: all know he ain't playing Saturday. We don't have to wait.
- 9:48Speaker 2: until Wednesday to find out, man, comment and be a,
- 9:52Speaker 2: you know, be a man of character. You know, it's
- 9:54Speaker 2: just the way I saw that as an opportunity to,
- 9:57Speaker 2: but the way, the way he treated the reporter was,
- 10:00Speaker 2: and I love that the reporter pressed right back at him. Well,
- 10:03Speaker 2: he is, you know, potentially number one pick in the draft,
- 10:05Speaker 2: one of the best players in the country. So I
- 10:07Speaker 2: think there's people want to hear about it. Good, good
- 10:09Speaker 2: for him because Sarkisian is not Nick Saban. It does
- 10:13Speaker 2: not get to speak to people like that. So anyway, I,
- 10:18Speaker 2: I think what I really think, and I think I
- 10:20Speaker 2: posted this on X, the walls are closing in on
- 10:22Speaker 2: him and he knows it. Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah. A hundred percent. A couple more things on this.
- 10:27Speaker 1: We need, I watch a lot of hockey. I'm going
- 10:31Speaker 1: to get any hockey lovers out there. Hit me up.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I'm down with some hockey. A couple of things.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Officiating.
- 10:39Speaker 1: If we're going to go to a 2014 playoff, which
- 10:42Speaker 1: I am not against. Okay. I will say this. I just,
- 10:45Speaker 1: For my whole lifetime, I got told about the bowls.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I got told that it was too taxing on their schedule.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And then one day I found out there was a
- 10:52Speaker 1: whole other league of football that had the playoffs. Who
- 10:55Speaker 1: knew that that could happen? And it could happen so successfully.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And then we've had all these ridiculous things. And so
- 11:00Speaker 1: now it came down to, again, like you and I,
- 11:03Speaker 1: it's a made-for-TV product. Hence the fact that ESPN was
- 11:08Speaker 1: the major part of the negotiation of where they're going
- 11:10Speaker 1: to get that. Now, what's going to happen to the
- 11:12Speaker 1: Pop-Tart Bowl? I don't know because it's by far the
- 11:15Speaker 1: best game that you're going to get that's not part
- 11:17Speaker 1: of the playoffs. But if we're going to go to
- 11:19Speaker 1: this level, we need to do one more thing, too.
- 11:22Speaker 1: The fact that the last weekend was the first time
- 11:25Speaker 1: I saw the ACC, I think the Big 12, and
- 11:29Speaker 1: I think the Big 10, but not the SEC, were
- 11:33Speaker 1: allowing you to hear the officials talking about the replay. Okay?
- 11:38Speaker 1: And the transparency– needs to go on. It's better that
- 11:43Speaker 1: way or they need to send everything to one spot
- 11:46Speaker 1: and you've got the same group of people that are
- 11:49Speaker 1: making the decision because it's across the board. Because we've
- 11:51Speaker 1: now seen several games this year that have ended that
- 11:56Speaker 1: in the end of balance, there were plays taking place
- 11:59Speaker 1: that couldn't put more time on the clock and have
- 12:02Speaker 1: changed the outcome.
- 12:04Speaker 2: And like the BYU game, which that's one you're clearly
- 12:07Speaker 2: talking about this weekend, it That's simply because they let
- 12:11Speaker 2: them storm the field. Okay. All right. So you made
- 12:14Speaker 2: that decision as an official. Then that means your conference
- 12:18Speaker 2: needs to fine your ass. And I don't mean like
- 12:22Speaker 2: a little fine. I don't mean a half million dollars
- 12:25Speaker 2: like the normal fine is in the SEC. I mean
- 12:28Speaker 2: two or three million dollars because it's too important. It's
- 12:33Speaker 2: too important to let those people rush the field before
- 12:36Speaker 2: the ball game's over. I don't even care if you
- 12:38Speaker 2: want to let them on the– look, man, I did
- 12:40Speaker 2: it when I was in college. You know, you– It's
- 12:43Speaker 2: a lot of fun. Kids are going to be kids.
- 12:46Speaker 2: It's part of, to me, the college experience. Two things
- 12:50Speaker 2: need to happen. We need to make sure that they're
- 12:52Speaker 2: not on the field before we finish the game. And second,
- 12:55Speaker 2: that they are not up in opposing players' faces. That
- 12:59Speaker 2: deal at the University of Texas, which has now come out,
- 13:01Speaker 2: that kid had nothing to do. Supposedly went to another
- 13:04Speaker 2: school in Florida. and how he gets on the field,
- 13:07Speaker 2: I don't think anybody knows. But shoot that kid, the bird.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Let me tell you what he needed. He needed one
- 13:15Speaker 2: of those Florida players to come over and punch him
- 13:17Speaker 2: right in the damn face. That's what he needed. Kids
- 13:20Speaker 2: don't get their ass kicked enough. That's one of the
- 13:22Speaker 2: main things that's wrong with America because you won't act
- 13:24Speaker 2: like that. We'd have gotten hit in the face. And
- 13:29Speaker 2: that's what that kid deserved. And to walk around and
- 13:32Speaker 2: be doing that, knowing the players can't do anything. A,
- 13:35Speaker 2: you're a coward. And if you're listening or if anybody
- 13:38Speaker 2: listens that knows him, you send him that he's a
- 13:40Speaker 2: coward because he is a coward. There ain't any way
- 13:43Speaker 2: he'd do that to their face without them there. And second,
- 13:50Speaker 2: we've got to make sure we finish games. Can't have
- 13:53Speaker 2: the players where they're put in a poor position because
- 13:57Speaker 2: people are idiots, especially when they've been drinking. And then
- 13:59Speaker 2: we've got to be able to finish football games in
- 14:01Speaker 2: a timely manner. Kudos to Michigan, even though they shouldn't
- 14:04Speaker 2: have had a play in that ballgame. At least they
- 14:07Speaker 2: could run it. They did something right.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's– I don't know, man. We're in an interesting
- 14:13Speaker 1: spot in the game. I mean, and so– and I'll
- 14:15Speaker 1: throw this out there. In another where I'm going with
- 14:17Speaker 1: the 24, we've been talking about this, and I'm not
- 14:19Speaker 1: going to harp on this because I don't really care
- 14:20Speaker 1: one way or the other. I want more competitive games
- 14:23Speaker 1: that we can wager on, and that's all I care about.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I mean, people ask me anymore. I don't hate teams
- 14:29Speaker 1: as much as like I used to.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I just do.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I enjoy the game. I literally turn it on, and
- 14:34Speaker 1: I'm like, here's what we're cheering for or if we're
- 14:36Speaker 1: not cheering for it. But I kind of just got
- 14:38Speaker 1: to where I enjoy the sport for the game itself
- 14:40Speaker 1: at this point. And so I'm not upset on Tuesday
- 14:45Speaker 1: when we lose on Saturday. I know a lot of
- 14:46Speaker 1: people are, but that's not me anymore. And it's not
- 14:49Speaker 1: because I matured because I'm a degenerate idiot. And so,
- 14:53Speaker 1: I mean, trust me, it's like I can have as
- 14:54Speaker 1: much fun as the next guy, but it's just that
- 14:57Speaker 1: the game has evolved a lot. And so the 24
- 15:00Speaker 1: is fine if we're going to do that. But we've
- 15:03Speaker 1: got to get some standardization in the officiating. Because here's
- 15:06Speaker 1: the other thing. There's not– what is it? There's not 1,700
- 15:12Speaker 1: Division I football players in the United States that are
- 15:14Speaker 1: that good between 24 teams. And so these teams do
- 15:19Speaker 1: not have the depth. And you're about to start seeing
- 15:22Speaker 1: it real big. Like they keep talking about is an
- 15:25Speaker 1: SEC team going to get in with three losses. The
- 15:27Speaker 1: answer is probably yes this year. For sure. If not,
- 15:32Speaker 1: they're really fucked because you can't fill a 24– With
- 15:39Speaker 1: a JMU– Oregon State may end up being 11-1 or 10-2. Right.
- 15:46Speaker 1: And you can't finish the season and think people are
- 15:50Speaker 1: going to want to turn that stuff on. So there's
- 15:52Speaker 1: a lot of interesting things that are going to go on.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I'm more for competitive football. And I'll throw this one
- 15:57Speaker 1: last thing out there. Man, if you were waiting on
- 15:59Speaker 1: a quarterback to draft this year to help rebuild your franchise, bro,
- 16:04Speaker 1: you are going to be out of O-job come next
- 16:07Speaker 1: year because– The quarterback crop coming in, I mean, Trinidad Chambliss,
- 16:11Speaker 1: is he great? Yeah, he's 5'11. So he's going to
- 16:13Speaker 1: look like Kyler Murray standing on the field out there.
- 16:16Speaker 1: You don't realize how small he is because he takes
- 16:19Speaker 1: every snap seven yards deep. Whereas you get under center
- 16:22Speaker 1: at 5'11, you're a small man. And so you've got.
- 16:26Speaker 2: And you get seven yards deep in the NFL and
- 16:28Speaker 2: these gazelles at end are back there on you before
- 16:31Speaker 2: you get a chance to do anything.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and so– It's a different game. I mean, and
- 16:35Speaker 1: like you said, Sam Levitt, who I think is– I
- 16:37Speaker 1: think Sam Levitt's fun to watch. I think the dude's
- 16:40Speaker 1: got some grit. I mean, he's got a little too
- 16:42Speaker 1: much Brett Favre in him. In a sense, like he's
- 16:45Speaker 1: convinced he can win the game.
- 16:47Speaker 2: But then you're starting to see– He's not accurate enough
- 16:49Speaker 2: with the football for me. No, totally not.
- 16:51Speaker 1: But you're starting to see some QBs mature. The lagway
- 16:54Speaker 1: kid at Baylor, terrible game last week. Apparently, TCU's entire
- 16:58Speaker 1: goal is to slow the game down to a point
- 17:01Speaker 1: that it just– retards the other team's offense to death
- 17:04Speaker 1: because it's so slow and so boring. No one can
- 17:09Speaker 1: get any more. They still haven't scored, dude. They're averaging
- 17:13Speaker 1: like 14, 15 points a game. And this week will
- 17:17Speaker 1: be interesting. They're about to play Rich Rod and Michael Hawkins.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And you don't know what you're going to get from
- 17:22Speaker 1: those guys. They may run for four and then he'll
- 17:24Speaker 1: throw for four. You have no idea. And so I
- 17:27Speaker 1: don't know. I'm fascinated with it. The game is interesting.
- 17:30Speaker 1: You got great stories. UCLA, holy ding dong. These guys
- 17:35Speaker 1: are trending towards a big championship.
- 17:37Speaker 2: One of the best coaches in America.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Absolutely. I mean, again, Sunbelt Billy, he may have just
- 17:43Speaker 1: gone to JMU, bathed himself. Go Dukes, baby, and just
- 17:47Speaker 1: get it done.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Why don't Coach Nick say that when you can just
- 17:50Speaker 2: go coach at JMU? Just go coach at JMU. Nothing
- 17:54Speaker 2: in the water is going to help. Sunbelt, Billy. I
- 17:56Speaker 2: agree with you about the officiating. We need more transparency.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Zero doubt about it. Next to impossible to argue. My
- 18:04Speaker 2: only thing on 24 is I'm coming around to your
- 18:08Speaker 2: point of view. Do I think that it does lessen
- 18:13Speaker 2: the regular season 100%? But most people are like me
- 18:17Speaker 2: and you. They're more worried about gambling and watching good
- 18:19Speaker 2: football games. They don't really care. I'll tell you how
- 18:22Speaker 2: much college football's changed. My ass is going to be
- 18:26Speaker 2: cheering for the Rebels on Saturday. That's how unlikable the
- 18:32Speaker 2: Longhorns are to me. That's how unlikable. That's something that
- 18:35Speaker 2: I would have never uttered for decades has officially left
- 18:40Speaker 2: my mouth. I will cheer for the Ole Miss Rebels
- 18:43Speaker 2: because it's hard to explain how much more likable. Look,
- 18:47Speaker 2: Pete Golding is like a dude you went to college with.
- 18:51Speaker 2: He looks like Your buddy you hadn't seen in a
- 18:54Speaker 2: few weeks. He looks like he ought to be at
- 18:57Speaker 2: a Grove tailgate with his visor on and salt and
- 19:02Speaker 2: pepper hair and a little bit of a belly. He
- 19:06Speaker 2: looks like an Ole Miss frat guy 30 years later.
- 19:09Speaker 2: That's exactly what he looks like.
- 19:11Speaker 1: And he sounds like it. He sounds like he came
- 19:14Speaker 1: out of the Grove, put his headset on, and just like,
- 19:17Speaker 1: let's go. Let's go.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Make no mistake, I'm not ripping on that. Look, I
- 19:24Speaker 2: think I've said this about Jeff Levy. He's the most
- 19:25Speaker 2: likable guy in my lifetime that's been in that job
- 19:30Speaker 2: at Mississippi State. I also will tell you the two
- 19:33Speaker 2: most arrogant guys that have ever been in that And
- 19:38Speaker 2: that seat are the two most successful guys that have
- 19:40Speaker 2: been in that seat. So maybe it needs to be
- 19:42Speaker 2: a little more arrogant, less nice. But it is a
- 19:44Speaker 2: different age. Some of these guys are actually beginning to engage.
- 19:48Speaker 2: And I think you're seeing them. make a difference. And
- 19:50Speaker 2: you look at Bob Chesney. That guy's a likable guy.
- 19:54Speaker 2: It's the, man, the days of the drill sergeant and
- 19:58Speaker 2: grinding them. And man, you better be a likable. It
- 20:02Speaker 2: doesn't work. I mean, you better be relatable to these
- 20:05Speaker 2: kids and you better be able to illustrate for them
- 20:08Speaker 2: how you're going to get them to their goals and
- 20:12Speaker 2: how the team is going to get them their goals
- 20:16Speaker 2: and how the two work together. And that is a
- 20:19Speaker 2: gigantic difference. It always was team first, individual second. That
- 20:25Speaker 2: ain't how it works now. It's individual first and how
- 20:27Speaker 2: you're going to get the team to that matter. And
- 20:30Speaker 2: the Texas Longhorns are no bigger example because if Arch
- 20:33Speaker 2: Manning's last name was Denson, he would have already been
- 20:36Speaker 2: benched and probably would have been benched last year and
- 20:40Speaker 2: would have been fighting for his job again this year.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Or he may not even have started last year because
- 20:45Speaker 2: he would have been still developing as a player.
- 20:47Speaker 1: So.
- 20:50Speaker 2: That is a prime example of itself. How do you
- 20:52Speaker 2: mix those two? And right now, it's not working in Austin.
- 20:58Speaker 2: They have too much talent to have lost these games.
- 21:02Speaker 1: It's the most expensive roster in the country, and they're
- 21:06Speaker 1: going to miss the playoffs again. Ohio State may not
- 21:09Speaker 1: be far behind him. Like, if you're Jeremiah Smith right now,
- 21:11Speaker 1: you're like, man, I'm probably not going to win the Heisman.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Because if you're playing them, you just double him up.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what you'd be doing.
- 21:17Speaker 2: But anyway. Well, especially now. Especially you are. But, Mark,
- 21:21Speaker 2: before we get off of them, I don't think people realize, like,
- 21:27Speaker 2: what we have coming up. Like, what the Longhorns have left.
- 21:31Speaker 2: They got– because they're in the midst of a three-game homestand.
- 21:36Speaker 2: They just lost the first one. And the whole month
- 21:40Speaker 2: of October, they never leave the state of Texas because
- 21:42Speaker 2: they were in Dallas. They lost that game. They just
- 21:46Speaker 2: lost at home. And you got the Ole Miss Rebels
- 21:48Speaker 2: coming to town. And then you got Mississippi State coming back.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Camario Taylor's back. They for sure got an opportunity to
- 21:57Speaker 2: win that game. And then they're at Missouri, at LSU,
- 22:01Speaker 2: Arkansas at home, at A & M. I would tell
- 22:04Speaker 2: you it's an uphill battle for those guys to make
- 22:07Speaker 2: the playoff at this point. Oh, 100%. I think the
- 22:11Speaker 2: only way you could guarantee that they're going to make
- 22:13Speaker 2: the playoff at this point is if 8-4 gets them in,
- 22:18Speaker 2: and there ain't no way 8-4 gets them in. There
- 22:21Speaker 2: ain't no way. Because the best thing that's going to
- 22:23Speaker 2: be on their resume is that Ohio State. But what's
- 22:27Speaker 2: that Ohio State win going to mean? That saying's out.
- 22:30Speaker 2: How much are they going to win coming down the stretch?
- 22:33Speaker 2: Who knows? There's a lot going on. This is exciting.
- 22:37Speaker 2: The good part about college sports, well, I think the
- 22:39Speaker 2: quality of play is way down, and I do. I
- 22:41Speaker 2: think the quality of the play is terrible. I don't
- 22:46Speaker 2: think these teams are nearly as good as they used
- 22:47Speaker 2: to be. Boy, anybody can beat anybody. And you get
- 22:53Speaker 2: wild swings and performance. I mean, just wild swings and performance.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Last thing before we get to this week, how about
- 22:59Speaker 2: my man John Sumrall mid-game just basically saying, to hell
- 23:03Speaker 2: with it. We're getting after that ass. We're going to
- 23:06Speaker 2: go after the quarterback. Just scratches their game plan mid-second quarter,
- 23:10Speaker 2: and it worked. I mean, that is so awesome.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I think he was so frustrated from the last couple
- 23:15Speaker 1: of weeks that he was like, I'm not, I can't
- 23:18Speaker 1: lose again. I'm not doing this. And so I just
- 23:20Speaker 1: love it.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I just look, man, do everything you can to win
- 23:23Speaker 2: the ball game. You know, it's, it was, it was,
- 23:27Speaker 2: So much to love about last week. The excitement, just
- 23:30Speaker 2: flipping on the game and watching upset after upset. And
- 23:33Speaker 2: really what it was was just wild performance after wild performance.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I mean, Ole Miss was obviously favored at home, but
- 23:41Speaker 2: the way they drilled Missouri was completely unexpected. So just
- 23:47Speaker 2: last week was just full of, wow, what's going to
- 23:50Speaker 2: happen next moments. And Miami and Florida State really kind
- 23:55Speaker 2: of brought it all to a head. Like, I mean,
- 23:57Speaker 2: the Hail Mary and everybody. I mean, I was openly yelling.
- 24:01Speaker 2: And then you're like, oh, that's the worst call ever.
- 24:04Speaker 2: You know, you're like, that is terrible. I'm like, come on.
- 24:07Speaker 2: And then it hits that kid's hands. I thought he, because,
- 24:10Speaker 2: you know, in the scrum, I'm waiting to see who's
- 24:12Speaker 2: coming out of it with the ball. I'm like, they
- 24:14Speaker 2: did it again. I mean, and then you realize what
- 24:17Speaker 2: happened is they did do it again. And the Miami D.B.
- 24:19Speaker 2: just took it from him as they were going to
- 24:21Speaker 2: the ground. What an ending to a game. What an
- 24:23Speaker 2: ending to a great weekend. But here we go, baby.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Let's move on to this week.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Let's do it all over again. Pretty good week last week.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Voided some of the funniness of it. We'll try to
- 24:33Speaker 1: get through another one. One last thing. Pour a little out.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Rest in peace for any of y'all that grew up
- 24:40Speaker 1: watching football in the 90s. Chuck the Breastamato passed away
- 24:44Speaker 1: this week at 80 years old. If you don't know
- 24:47Speaker 1: Chuck the Breast, you can literally just go Google Chuck
- 24:50Speaker 1: the Breast. And you'll see him pop up. Love that guy.
- 24:53Speaker 1: He had some great sound bites. He was with Bobby
- 24:55Speaker 1: Bowden for years before he went to NC State. Old school,
- 24:59Speaker 1: great football coach. Pour a little out for him. Let's
- 25:01Speaker 1: see if we can get some wins. All right, Scotty,
- 25:04Speaker 1: we're recording this on Wednesday. I don't know if anybody's
- 25:05Speaker 1: going to get a chance to listen to it. Sam
- 25:07Speaker 1: and New Mexico State playing again. I want to take Sam.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Every time I take them, I lose. I'm not taking Sam.
- 25:14Speaker 1: They're currently on the no bet list for me. I'm
- 25:16Speaker 1: out on that. And I've got a good friend whose
- 25:18Speaker 1: son plays. I'm cheering for him. Get it done, boys.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Let's go, Bearcats. Scratch them up. I can't bet this
- 25:24Speaker 1: team anymore. Thursday night, Sunbelt Billy traveling to Boone to
- 25:29Speaker 1: get it going. Ten and a half is the line here.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Appy State at home over-unders 56 and a half. I'll
- 25:37Speaker 1: tell you what, man. Thursday night, there's some pretty decent
- 25:41Speaker 1: games in the southeastern corridor you've got from that. I
- 25:44Speaker 1: can get down with some happy plus 10.5 here. I
- 25:46Speaker 1: don't know that I'm totally involved in this spot, but
- 25:49Speaker 1: if I were going to play this game, that's where
- 25:50Speaker 1: I would go. Next one, you've got Liberty and Kennesaw.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Liberty laying 10. Liberty might be a little bit of
- 25:58Speaker 1: a wagon this year. Over under here is 15.5. Last game,
- 26:03Speaker 1: East Carolina plus 10 at Memphis. East Carolina is getting
- 26:08Speaker 1: a lot of love in this one. Scott, any of
- 26:11Speaker 1: those games on Thursday, you got your eye on any
- 26:13Speaker 1: of them?
- 26:14Speaker 2: Give me the flames, baby. I like this game. I
- 26:17Speaker 2: think this is actually a pretty good opportunity to win
- 26:20Speaker 2: some games. I'm owning this already. Can't wait for Thursday night, baby.
- 26:24Speaker 2: I just don't think– Kennesaw last year was actually a really,
- 26:27Speaker 2: really talented team. Got riddled a little bit in the portal,
- 26:30Speaker 2: which is going to happen when you're a startup Division
- 26:33Speaker 2: I team. But I like Liberty here. I don't think–
- 26:37Speaker 2: you know, the coach was so sick. Was it Chadwell?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Jamie Chadwell was so sick last year and just went
- 26:44Speaker 2: through some issues. A, they look to be back, and
- 26:48Speaker 2: he looks to be back, the coach that got him
- 26:51Speaker 2: this job at Coastal Carolina. I think this is a
- 26:55Speaker 2: team that's playing really, really well this year. Give me
- 26:58Speaker 2: the Flames.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I'll ride with you on the Flames. Laying 10 on
- 27:01Speaker 1: the Flames. First bet on the board. Let's get that going.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Kennesaw State's kind of been on the slide. They've lost
- 27:06Speaker 1: five in a row. They've covered three times, but a
- 27:10Speaker 1: huge number they were catching against Tennessee. Arkansas State was
- 27:13Speaker 1: kind of a backdoor deal. Jacksonville State, they're just not
- 27:16Speaker 1: very good this year. Give me the Flames. I'll roll
- 27:18Speaker 1: with you. Friday night, you've got a couple games. I've
- 27:20Speaker 1: already got one in pocket. Let's get this going. Army
- 27:23Speaker 1: Black Knights playing the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Tulsa's D-line is
- 27:27Speaker 1: still pretty solid, man. They've got a couple of NFL
- 27:31Speaker 1: players on there laying one and a half. I got
- 27:33Speaker 1: the money line at minus 120. Give me Tulsa. This
- 27:36Speaker 1: will be the third option team in a row that
- 27:40Speaker 1: Tulsa will have played. They have played Navy. They have
- 27:42Speaker 1: played Rice. And now they're back here. They're at home
- 27:46Speaker 1: for this one. Army, to me, has not been... army
- 27:50Speaker 1: of old. And I say that last week and the
- 27:51Speaker 1: backup quarterback came up and blew the doors off of it.
- 27:55Speaker 1: So I could be holding the dead ass loser in
- 27:57Speaker 1: this spot, but I like the cane. I like the
- 27:59Speaker 1: golden hurricanes just to win, not lay one and a half,
- 28:02Speaker 1: but the, where this game is interesting to me though,
- 28:05Speaker 1: is the totals 54 and a half. That's a big
- 28:08Speaker 1: number for a service Academy game. And so I'm going
- 28:11Speaker 1: to lean with Tulsa, get it going on that one.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Only other two games of interest to me, Duke and Virginia.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Virginia, to me, man, this has been a physical squad.
- 28:21Speaker 1: The betting against Manny Diaz, I don't do well when
- 28:24Speaker 1: I got that. Do you have anything in pocket in
- 28:26Speaker 1: that one?
- 28:27Speaker 2: I do not, but if I do, I'm taking Duke.
- 28:30Speaker 2: That is the bottom line. They lost last week, and
- 28:33Speaker 2: I think that's the reason this line is the way
- 28:35Speaker 2: it is. But I'm with you. Every time I feel
- 28:38Speaker 2: like I've got to read on this team, they jump
- 28:40Speaker 2: up and do something they shouldn't do.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and so, I mean, the only other game you've
- 28:44Speaker 1: got Stanford at home playing NC State, you've got that
- 28:48Speaker 1: three-time zone travel rule. If you want to lay it,
- 28:52Speaker 1: but getting six and a half with Stanford, if you
- 28:55Speaker 1: haven't laid your eyeballs on Stanford football this year, it
- 28:58Speaker 1: is not a pretty watch. So I don't know if
- 29:01Speaker 1: I would get it, but I would lean to Stanford
- 29:03Speaker 1: getting six and a half, maybe getting seven, purely on
- 29:05Speaker 1: a time zone game. Let's jump into some fun stuff here.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Jordan-Harris Stadium, LSU. Going down to play the other Tigers
- 29:14Speaker 1: of Auburn in this one. Line here's at seven.
- 29:16Speaker 2: And a half.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Not moving. Not moving, Scotty. Everybody got to see Auburn
- 29:20Speaker 1: last week. And people don't realize, if you're not from
- 29:23Speaker 1: the south, how much Auburn hates Georgia. Like, everybody thinks
- 29:28Speaker 1: it's Auburn, Alabama. They hate Georgia. Most Auburn fans actually
- 29:32Speaker 1: dislike Georgia fans way worse than they dislike Alabama fans.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Last week's win was a huge win for the Auburn program.
- 29:40Speaker 1: you got an lsu team that's coming down here both
- 29:43Speaker 1: these teams have similar records uh five and two at
- 29:46Speaker 1: lsu four and two at auburn that's a gross four
- 29:48Speaker 1: and two but lsu is a is in a must
- 29:51Speaker 1: win spot if they're in any chance that they've got
- 29:54Speaker 1: can make a run to get to the playoffs this
- 29:55Speaker 1: year they have to win this game i just don't
- 29:58Speaker 1: know if If I want to lay seven and a
- 30:00Speaker 1: half with LSU, I would actually probably trend to the
- 30:03Speaker 1: under in this one. I may just be watching this
- 30:05Speaker 1: one on the sideline, but I think the LSU defense
- 30:08Speaker 1: is going to give this Auburn offense all kinds of problems.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Every time I think of this game, I think back
- 30:13Speaker 2: to the Jamie Howard game in the mid-90s when he
- 30:17Speaker 2: threw six picks against Auburn.
- 30:21Speaker 1: LSU love hates that guy, by the way. I mean,
- 30:24Speaker 1: they love and they hate that guy so much.
- 30:28Speaker 2: So that is what always comes to my mind. And, look,
- 30:31Speaker 2: it's happened a couple of other times. There's been Auburn
- 30:33Speaker 2: quarterbacks that went down to Baton Rouge through a bunch
- 30:35Speaker 2: of picks. There's been LSU quarterbacks that have thrown three
- 30:38Speaker 2: or four picks in this game. This is always a
- 30:40Speaker 2: wild game for teams that aren't rivals but obviously used
- 30:46Speaker 2: to play each other all the time. I think this
- 30:50Speaker 2: game– I think Auburn probably stays within this number. I
- 30:55Speaker 2: think this game is closer– then I think LSU would
- 30:59Speaker 2: like for it to be, but I do think they're
- 31:01Speaker 2: going to figure out a way to get it done.
- 31:05Speaker 2: But I do like Auburn plus the points here.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Next one I've got, Texas Tech traveling to Cincinnati. This
- 31:11Speaker 1: is a big game. This is a brand Sorsby game here.
- 31:13Speaker 1: If you don't know the story, let me give it
- 31:15Speaker 1: to you real quick. Apparently Cincinnati knew Sorsby had a
- 31:18Speaker 1: little gambling issues, and then when Sorsby left to go
- 31:22Speaker 1: take a bag and go be Texas Tech's quarterback, they
- 31:25Speaker 1: just kind of slid that out there to anybody that
- 31:27Speaker 1: might want to know. And Cody Campbell, who pretty much
- 31:31Speaker 1: runs Texas Tech University, he's been all about it. Joey
- 31:34Speaker 1: McGuire is his boy. He's hand-picked coach to be in
- 31:38Speaker 1: this position. And Cody's been pretty vocal that he wants
- 31:41Speaker 1: to do some retribution when they play Cincinnati. The only
- 31:45Speaker 1: reason I might get involved in this one is because
- 31:47Speaker 1: of that. Tech looked really good last week after coming
- 31:50Speaker 1: off a bye. I finally started to see a little
- 31:51Speaker 1: bit of leadership in this team. That defensive line is
- 31:54Speaker 1: going to cause problems. As a matter of fact, give
- 31:57Speaker 1: me Texas Tech. Let's buy it down to 10. I'm
- 31:58Speaker 1: going to take it. Here's what we're going to do.
- 32:00Speaker 1: The defensive line for Tech is going to cause all
- 32:03Speaker 1: kinds of problems for the Cincinnati team. I'm just telling
- 32:05Speaker 1: you right now. They're not going to be able to
- 32:07Speaker 1: churn and run like they think they can, and they
- 32:09Speaker 1: can't throw the ball whatsoever. And defensively, this is one
- 32:12Speaker 1: of the worst defensive teams in the country, especially on
- 32:14Speaker 1: the Power 5 level. Give me Texas Tech minus 10.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I don't think they're going to take their foot off
- 32:19Speaker 1: the gas in this one. So unless they just come
- 32:21Speaker 1: out tight because they're so hyped up for this one,
- 32:23Speaker 1: Joey McGuire is not taking his foot off the gas
- 32:26Speaker 1: in this one because the dude that signs his check,
- 32:28Speaker 1: I guarantee you is going to be texting his ass
- 32:30Speaker 1: like every time. You keep going. You keep going.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Satterfield last week opens up the offense. They throw for
- 32:37Speaker 2: almost 400 yards. And then when it matters– Now, look,
- 32:42Speaker 2: I think me and you and our daughters could throw
- 32:45Speaker 2: for 400 yards against that West Virginia defense. But when
- 32:49Speaker 2: it matters, and there's three minutes left in the game,
- 32:52Speaker 2: he's got fourth and three. And, yes, he's on his
- 32:54Speaker 2: like on 35 or 40-yard line. Nobody has stopped anybody
- 33:00Speaker 2: in that game. I mean, I think it was 42-42
- 33:03Speaker 2: at this point. And nobody has stopped anybody, any punts. And,
- 33:09Speaker 2: of course, they take it down, run out the clock,
- 33:12Speaker 2: and kick a field goal to win the ball game, 45-42.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Terrible decision. The only reason I go for it is
- 33:18Speaker 2: because they at least can't run out the clock if
- 33:20Speaker 2: they've got it at your own 35, and you'd have
- 33:23Speaker 2: gotten a chance to get the ball back. At least
- 33:25Speaker 2: you had a chance. The second he punted that ball game,
- 33:28Speaker 2: unless West Virginia turned it over, that ball game was over.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Couldn't believe he did it. Anchors hang over there. You
- 33:35Speaker 2: talk to any Cincinnati fan, they are ready to fire Satterfield.
- 33:39Speaker 2: They hope he's losing.
- 33:40Speaker 1: They were ready to fire him last year.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and he won just enough to stay. And now
- 33:45Speaker 2: here comes Texas Tech. So I can get behind this
- 33:49Speaker 2: just because I think there may be a pretty good
- 33:51Speaker 2: hangover for the Bearcats.
- 33:52Speaker 1: I can lay a big number in there. Nard Dog
- 33:55Speaker 1: traveling down to the Coral Gables, getting 19 and a half,
- 33:59Speaker 1: 48 and a half. This would be a layup with
- 34:03Speaker 1: Miami or no play. I can't bet Nard Dog anymore.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I just can't do it. I mean, I want to
- 34:09Speaker 1: take those points bad. I can't do it. Let's go
- 34:11Speaker 1: to the next one. Michigan hosting Indiana. Is Josh Hoover hurt?
- 34:15Speaker 1: Is he playing in this game? I need to get
- 34:17Speaker 1: some confirmation on that. Indiana laying seven on the road
- 34:21Speaker 1: at Michigan. Michigan's going to be starting cards. CJ Carr's
- 34:25Speaker 1: little brother, most likely. I think the quarterback.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Lloyd Carr's other grandson.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yes, is done there. You've got a Michigan team kind
- 34:34Speaker 1: of like a little bit of a wounded animal trying
- 34:35Speaker 1: to figure out what they're going to do, but they're
- 34:37Speaker 1: still 4-2. But they are 1-5 to the under. Give
- 34:42Speaker 1: me the under, baby. I think I'm going under, and
- 34:44Speaker 1: this one's at 41.5. It's one of the lowest numbers
- 34:47Speaker 1: on the board. I think Kyle Whittingham is not going
- 34:49Speaker 1: to let himself get beat having a young quarterback, and
- 34:52Speaker 1: he's going to try to dial up something that's a
- 34:53Speaker 1: little bit different. Plus, they don't have a lot of
- 34:55Speaker 1: tape on this kid. And so you've got to wonder
- 34:57Speaker 1: what they're going to do here, Indiana. And one thing
- 35:00Speaker 1: with Indiana, I just finally came to the realization of
- 35:03Speaker 1: it this year. They're not blowing people out. Last year,
- 35:05Speaker 1: they smoked everybody. This year, I don't think they got it.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Hoover's a little off. You've got Marsh and Becker are
- 35:13Speaker 1: super nasty, by the way, but they can't really run
- 35:16Speaker 1: the ball. And so I think that's where they're going
- 35:18Speaker 1: to struggle in this one. Give me the Wolverines plus seven,
- 35:22Speaker 1: but I really like the under 41 and a half.
- 35:24Speaker 1: It might make me a little same game teaser. That's
- 35:26Speaker 1: pretty gross, but I'm not sure I'll get there.
- 35:28Speaker 2: If this follows the trend at all of what we've
- 35:35Speaker 2: seen all year, Indiana's fixing to come up there and
- 35:37Speaker 2: lay a turd. I mean, lay a turd. Can Cignetti
- 35:44Speaker 2: overcome that is, to me, the big deal. I ain't
- 35:47Speaker 2: Michigan's going to cover this line because, look, Carr is
- 35:51Speaker 2: doing what I think they wanted Underwood to do. Take
- 35:55Speaker 2: what's available and run when you need to. He did
- 35:59Speaker 2: a great job of it Saturday. So I think this
- 36:03Speaker 2: team just– look, I don't think this is not talented
- 36:06Speaker 2: Michigan team. That defense is nasty. You just got to
- 36:10Speaker 2: score and control the clock. And I think they may
- 36:13Speaker 2: be able to do that more. Kudos to Underwood. I
- 36:15Speaker 2: was hard on him early in the year about how
- 36:18Speaker 2: he handled that in the press conference and all of that.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Then he came out and played really well leading into
- 36:24Speaker 2: the next ball game. Last week, when they pull him
- 36:28Speaker 2: and they score that first touchdown, the first dude on
- 36:33Speaker 2: the field congratulating Carr was Underwood. Kudos to him. That's
- 36:37Speaker 2: how you handle it in an environment where it's me, me, me, me, me.
- 36:41Speaker 2: And a dude's getting paid all kinds of NIL money.
- 36:44Speaker 2: That kid was out there cheering on the guy who
- 36:46Speaker 2: just replaced him. Kudos to that young man.
- 36:50Speaker 1: A couple of games, TCU's laying 10 at home against
- 36:53Speaker 1: West Virginia. That line stinks to heaven. I would probably
- 36:57Speaker 1: lean to West Virginia, but their defense is so bad
- 37:00Speaker 1: that it might allow TCU to score more than 15 points.
- 37:04Speaker 1: So I, I may have to find a TCU team
- 37:06Speaker 1: total over and see if I can get involved in that.
- 37:09Speaker 1: If it's over 21 and a half, I may get involved,
- 37:12Speaker 1: but I'll let you know. Moving on, Scotty. Western Michigan
- 37:16Speaker 1: at Toledo, baby. Toledo laying three at home. You got
- 37:20Speaker 1: a little Mac shit on here?
- 37:22Speaker 2: Two best teams in the Mac. Of course we got
- 37:24Speaker 2: to talk about it. I mean, come on. Look, I
- 37:27Speaker 2: have felt all year long like Western Michigan was the
- 37:30Speaker 2: best team in the league. They've let me down a
- 37:31Speaker 2: little bit with their play, have not looked as crisp. Toledo,
- 37:35Speaker 2: just the opposite, has looked phenomenal all year long. I mean,
- 37:40Speaker 2: it's played really, really well, but I like the three
- 37:42Speaker 2: and a half. I think this is going to be
- 37:44Speaker 2: a hard-fought game. Give me the points for the two
- 37:47Speaker 2: best teams in the MAAC. I'll take the underdog Western Michigan,
- 37:50Speaker 2: plus three and a half, although I think Toledo is
- 37:53Speaker 2: a really, really good football team.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Next one I got, Scotty, the Ducks. Traveling time zones, baby.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Going to see big Bert Bielema. Bert getting nine and
- 38:02Speaker 1: a half at home. Over under here is 50. This
- 38:05Speaker 1: Illinois team can put up some digits, man. If you
- 38:07Speaker 1: haven't watched them play, this is a little bit different
- 38:09Speaker 1: squad than what we're used to seeing from Bert. Oregon
- 38:12Speaker 1: is a mess, an absolute mess. And I like Dan
- 38:16Speaker 1: Lanning a lot, but I think this squad is off
- 38:18Speaker 1: the rails, and I think they kind of know it.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Because you've got to look at this team. Everybody came back.
- 38:22Speaker 1: We heard about Dante. We heard about Rashada. I mean,
- 38:25Speaker 1: not Rashad. Dylan Riola is a backup. I mean, we've
- 38:28Speaker 1: got defensive linemen on our ass. We've got wide receivers everywhere.
- 38:32Speaker 1: They just can't perform. And you've got to wonder how
- 38:35Speaker 1: pear-shaped it's getting around there. They're rolling in. They're traveling
- 38:38Speaker 1: across two time zones to play an Illinois team that
- 38:41Speaker 1: can put up some points. They're scoring 31 a game.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Illinois' defense is not very good. They are giving up
- 38:47Speaker 1: a lot of points. I think this is going to
- 38:48Speaker 1: be a shootout. Give me plus nine and a half.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I'll take the fight in the line out here.
- 38:52Speaker 2: I kind of like fighting Burt Villamas here, mainly because
- 38:55Speaker 2: you've got a long travel day, and this is a
- 38:58Speaker 2: team not playing well.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Don't have quarterback.
- 39:01Speaker 2: And that's a lot of points. Could you see Burt
- 39:05Speaker 2: with an upset?
- 39:06Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Fucking stinky-ass upset. Plus three to one? Hell yes.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Don't think I'll have some money on that.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Love it.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Texas A & M getting 14, traveling to Tuscaloosa. Over
- 39:18Speaker 1: under here is 50 and a half. I got a
- 39:21Speaker 1: feeling that everybody is going to bet Bama like they
- 39:24Speaker 1: know the outcome of this game. And this just seems
- 39:27Speaker 1: like one of those disgustingly gross games. that you're going
- 39:30Speaker 1: to look up at A & M will have never
- 39:32Speaker 1: been in the game and somehow they're going to cover.
- 39:34Speaker 1: It's going to be like 29 to 42. And somehow
- 39:37Speaker 1: you lost your bet. I got no action here because
- 39:40Speaker 1: I cannot trust Texas A & M to do anything.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Well, you can't trust either one of these teams at
- 39:45Speaker 2: this point. I mean, you know, you got Ryan Williams
- 39:47Speaker 2: out or whatever his hyphenated name is now. Was it
- 39:50Speaker 2: Coleman Williams? Yes. He's out. So this Bama team's beat
- 39:56Speaker 2: up a little bit. Here's the deal. Alabama's going to
- 39:59Speaker 2: figure out that Hill's their third best running back at
- 40:01Speaker 2: some point, and he can't hold on to the football.
- 40:03Speaker 2: I mean, he may get DeBow or fired. I mean,
- 40:08Speaker 2: the kid fumbles. I mean, that's the bottom line. Look,
- 40:10Speaker 2: against Mississippi State, they got lucky and recovered it. But
- 40:13Speaker 2: they get that turnover on that fumble to start the game.
- 40:16Speaker 2: And the first play, he almost turned it right back
- 40:18Speaker 2: over to them. The kid fumbles. He had a huge
- 40:21Speaker 2: fumble last week in the Tennessee game. At some point,
- 40:25Speaker 2: they're going to figure out that the two freshmen are
- 40:27Speaker 2: the two dudes, and they need to put him in
- 40:30Speaker 2: when they need pass pro, and that's it. So, the
- 40:32Speaker 2: bottom line is, I don't trust he's one of these
- 40:34Speaker 2: two teams. I think Bama's talented. I think they're a really,
- 40:37Speaker 2: really talented football team. But there is a disconnect. There
- 40:42Speaker 2: is a disconnect with this coaching staff and the kids
- 40:46Speaker 2: that he's– I guess that he's being forced to recruit. Or,
- 40:50Speaker 2: you know, the kids that are in the southeast or
- 40:52Speaker 2: whatever it is. But the bowler doesn't look like he's
- 40:54Speaker 2: having any fun. I can't believe he got a contract extension.
- 41:00Speaker 2: And I like Jeff– I like Greg Byrne. But, whew,
- 41:03Speaker 2: that may be an expensive contract because– Bama fans are
- 41:08Speaker 2: going to lose their mind.
- 41:10Speaker 1: If they lose here.
- 41:11Speaker 2: If they lose another game or two. And look, when
- 41:13Speaker 2: they play LSU, Tredary's Green's back.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Or Tredary's Green, or whatever his name is, is back.
- 41:21Speaker 2: And that's a different football team when that cat's there.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I agree. Because he can get open. So it's going
- 41:27Speaker 2: to be interesting to see. Because that LSU team, and look,
- 41:30Speaker 2: that quarterback continues to get better. Say what you want
- 41:34Speaker 2: about Kiffin and as flawed as he is. He is
- 41:37Speaker 2: a good football coach. On a side note, did you
- 41:40Speaker 2: see the letter that's bouncing around the Internet about Lane
- 41:44Speaker 2: Kiffin that supposedly said there's no way this is real,
- 41:47Speaker 2: but whoever made it is fabulous. But I really hope
- 41:50Speaker 2: that the Auburn president did say it basically about he's
- 41:53Speaker 2: asking all the sorority girls to watch out for themselves.
- 41:57Speaker 2: There's a guy come to town that likes to prey
- 41:59Speaker 2: upon girls.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Oh, that's rough.
- 42:02Speaker 2: It is fabulous. Check my Twitter feed if you've not
- 42:05Speaker 2: seen it. I've re-sent it. It is fabulous. I'm sure
- 42:09Speaker 2: by now most everybody listening has seen it, but it
- 42:12Speaker 2: is too awesome. No way it's accurate. No way it's
- 42:15Speaker 2: not some internet dude starting it, but it's still fabulous.
- 42:18Speaker 2: If I was the president of Auburn, I'd claim it
- 42:20Speaker 2: and just say, well, I wasn't smart enough to think
- 42:22Speaker 2: of it, but that's fabulous.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Real quick, we got Sac State versus Ball State. A
- 42:30Speaker 1: little crotch game here, baby. I don't know who I'm
- 42:33Speaker 1: getting involved with, but Ball State, Testicle Tech is laying
- 42:36Speaker 1: 14 and a half to Sac State.
- 42:39Speaker 2: They're at home, right?
- 42:40Speaker 1: They're at home. Again, I do not know where I'm
- 42:43Speaker 1: going to get involved in this. I just want to
- 42:45Speaker 1: bring up that there is a game between Ball State
- 42:48Speaker 1: and Sac State. The battle for your crotch right here, baby.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Moving on. I would take Buffalo minus three against Bowling Green.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Bowling Green's terrible, but I'm not going to bet that game.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Here's the one I like. BYU's traveling all the way
- 43:01Speaker 1: to Orlando to play UCF. They're laying six and a
- 43:05Speaker 1: half on the road. Very low total, 43 and a half.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I kind of lean towards the Knights here.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Oh, I like the Knights here. It's just what I
- 43:15Speaker 2: said about if this follows trend, BYU is fixing to
- 43:19Speaker 2: lay a turn. Oh, and they're flying all the way
- 43:21Speaker 2: across the country to go do it and play it
- 43:23Speaker 2: in the middle of the afternoon? They're playing it like noon,
- 43:26Speaker 2: body clock time, or something like that. This is an
- 43:30Speaker 2: early game. Do I wish it was an early game? 100%.
- 43:34Speaker 2: But I still like UCF. Look, they performed exactly like
- 43:37Speaker 2: I expected them to against Houston and then backed it
- 43:40Speaker 2: up against Oklahoma State. Boy, what a moment for Scott Frost.
- 43:46Speaker 2: if he can figure out how to get this done.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Not only do I think that they cover, I think
- 43:50Speaker 2: they are a live dog.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Now we're going to match them up with Burt Bielema.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Now we're getting somewhere. I like everything about this. Next
- 43:58Speaker 1: one we've got, I've got another one for you. I'm
- 43:59Speaker 1: about to throw it right in your face hole. Iowa
- 44:02Speaker 1: going to play Minnesota. Minnesota getting six and a half
- 44:06Speaker 1: at home. Iowa has announced the quarterback's going to play here.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Minnesota coming off of a loss after a bad spot
- 44:13Speaker 1: for them. Lose to Purdue. But that was two weeks ago.
- 44:17Speaker 1: But those were after those two huge wins for them
- 44:20Speaker 1: where they beat Washington, then they beat Michigan. And you've
- 44:23Speaker 1: got this one going on. This game actually has a name.
- 44:26Speaker 1: This is the Florida-Rosedale game, I think. Isn't that right?
- 44:29Speaker 1: The Iowa-Minnesota game where they give out the big giant pig.
- 44:32Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that's right. Give me Minnesota and the
- 44:35Speaker 1: fighting P.J. Flex plus six and a half here.
- 44:40Speaker 2: I love the fight in P.J. Flex. Off week, coming back,
- 44:45Speaker 2: I was at a pretty rough stretch too. I guess
- 44:48Speaker 2: it's a great football game, but I'm with you. I
- 44:50Speaker 2: think it's too many points. You might even consider buying
- 44:53Speaker 2: the hook up here if you can. Some books will
- 44:56Speaker 2: let you do that. If you can get it to seven, boy,
- 44:59Speaker 2: that gives you a lot of insurance. But I do
- 45:02Speaker 2: like Minnesota here. I don't think anybody in America is
- 45:05Speaker 2: surprised if Minnesota gets the win. in this ballgame. This
- 45:09Speaker 2: will be a hard-fought good ballgame.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Oklahoma has traveled down to start Vegas for this one.
- 45:15Speaker 1: OU laying four and a half on the road. Gross
- 45:19Speaker 1: over under here is 44 and a half. I don't
- 45:22Speaker 1: know if Camario is going to play or not, but
- 45:24Speaker 1: here's where I'm at. The OU defense is legit. It's
- 45:27Speaker 1: a legit unit. It's one of the best in the country.
- 45:30Speaker 1: It's coached well. It's schemed well. It's given everybody they've
- 45:34Speaker 1: played problems. I'm going under the total on this one.
- 45:37Speaker 1: I have no idea who's going to win. I cannot
- 45:39Speaker 1: see– if Camario plays, I think OU will struggle. But
- 45:43Speaker 1: I think also Camario won't have seen– I don't think
- 45:47Speaker 1: he's going to see this difficult of a defense to
- 45:49Speaker 1: try to figure out. That's my personal opinion. And if
- 45:52Speaker 1: Puckett or the backup Billy plays, I know he hasn't
- 45:55Speaker 1: seen anything like this. And last week, I know it
- 45:57Speaker 1: was really windy in that LSU game, and that was
- 46:00Speaker 1: probably a lot of the problem with Mississippi State's very
- 46:03Speaker 1: pass-heavy offense. But I just think you're going to lead
- 46:05Speaker 1: to another under in this spot. I'll go under 44
- 46:08Speaker 1: and a half where I like this game.
- 46:10Speaker 2: There's no chance if Kamario Taylor didn't. It doesn't play
- 46:13Speaker 2: that this game's going under. That's probably one of the
- 46:15Speaker 2: safest bets. That state defense is not very good, but
- 46:18Speaker 2: it's also not as bad as it looked against LSU because, look,
- 46:26Speaker 2: Superman's sitting on the bench, and make no mistake, that's
- 46:29Speaker 2: what Kamario Taylor is to this team. He makes an
- 46:31Speaker 2: average team really, really talented, and he makes everybody around
- 46:36Speaker 2: him better. And without him, I think that team was
- 46:40Speaker 2: kind of shell shocked in what is already a very
- 46:42Speaker 2: difficult environment and a difficult point in the schedule for
- 46:47Speaker 2: Mississippi State. I don't think there's any chance it goes under.
- 46:50Speaker 2: I think you've got to watch that. If he plays,
- 46:53Speaker 2: I think it's sales over because I don't think State's
- 46:55Speaker 2: defense is going to be able to slow Mateer down.
- 46:58Speaker 2: I think it's a get-right game for Mateer because State
- 47:01Speaker 2: likes to play bend, don't break. But he'll still do
- 47:04Speaker 2: something to screw it up. That's what I'm saying. He'll
- 47:07Speaker 2: still make some mistakes. So it's going to be fascinating
- 47:10Speaker 2: to see how the defense for State tries to play
- 47:13Speaker 2: this and what they try to do. Also, don't forget
- 47:16Speaker 2: last week in that ballgame against LSU, they crossed the
- 47:19Speaker 2: 55 times. I mean, they were in field goal range,
- 47:24Speaker 2: I think, four, like legit field goal range four times
- 47:28Speaker 2: and just couldn't close it out. Taylor gets points on
- 47:30Speaker 2: the board. And they're taking some of those field goals.
- 47:33Speaker 2: That ball game's a whole lot closer than that score
- 47:37Speaker 2: looks if Taylor plays at all. What I'm fascinated to see,
- 47:40Speaker 2: I said this, I said this to anybody that was
- 47:43Speaker 2: involved with Mississippi State that had ears, there was no
- 47:45Speaker 2: chance I would have played Taylor or Fluff Bothwell last week.
- 47:49Speaker 2: They did not. Now comes the question of your season
- 47:52Speaker 2: if your Mississippi State starts today. You start a five-game
- 47:57Speaker 2: slate where you got a chance to win all of them.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Probably only one of them are you really not competitive in.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Camario Taylor's there. But if they don't play him today,
- 48:08Speaker 2: they're not going to play him next week at Texas either.
- 48:10Speaker 2: I think they'll rest him and bring him back for
- 48:12Speaker 2: that Vandy, Auburn, Tennessee Tech Ole Miss stretch in November.
- 48:16Speaker 2: So Saturday's a big game. What does Mississippi State try
- 48:19Speaker 2: to do? Don't think Botwell's going to be healthy. So
- 48:23Speaker 2: they're not going to have the same type of running game.
- 48:26Speaker 2: So what does Mississippi State and what does Jeff Levy
- 48:29Speaker 2: do with him? Because this also isn't a one-year decision.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Turf Toe doesn't get better in two weeks. I mean,
- 48:35Speaker 2: this kid's going to have it all year. But the
- 48:37Speaker 2: longer you can rest him, the better. State can win
- 48:40Speaker 2: seven games. They got Vandy, Auburn, Tennessee Tech. They win
- 48:45Speaker 2: seven games and be going to Oxford. It doesn't matter
- 48:47Speaker 2: what they do the rest of the year. Yeah, it
- 48:49Speaker 2: hurts their national perception, but anybody that knows what's going
- 48:52Speaker 2: on with Taylor is going to realize what he's doing
- 48:56Speaker 2: with his schedule this anki goes out and has a
- 48:58Speaker 2: great portal year state's got a lot of people back
- 49:01Speaker 2: and that can come back on this portal on this
- 49:03Speaker 2: football team that matter i mean hell evans has got
- 49:06Speaker 2: another year if he wants it now i think he'll
- 49:08Speaker 2: go pro but you just don't know and when you
- 49:11Speaker 2: have a marquee quarterback some kids might come by hell
- 49:14Speaker 2: kelly jones has got another year if he wants it
- 49:16Speaker 2: stunned if he comes back because he's probably a first
- 49:18Speaker 2: rounder but having said all that, there's a lot of momentum.
- 49:22Speaker 2: Levy's got the freedom to do whatever he wants to do.
- 49:25Speaker 2: So you got to find out, have your phone in hand,
- 49:29Speaker 2: find out what's going on in this ballgame Saturday. Wait
- 49:31Speaker 2: and find out if Taylor's playing because that's going to
- 49:34Speaker 2: affect your bet. This is an under all day long,
- 49:38Speaker 2: all day long. If Taylor doesn't play. It's probably still
- 49:44Speaker 2: going to go under if Taylor does, but I think
- 49:48Speaker 2: they'll be able to score on these guys, which will
- 49:53Speaker 2: force this Oklahoma offense to try to move football down
- 49:57Speaker 2: the field.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Next one I got, Scotty. South Carolina at home laying
- 50:02Speaker 1: two and a half to the Tennessee Bulls after they
- 50:05Speaker 1: just beat Alabama. Over under here is 50.5. This will
- 50:11Speaker 1: be the stinkiest line of the week. If you've been
- 50:15Speaker 1: gambling a while, I would recommend you take South Carolina
- 50:18Speaker 1: either on the money line or to cover or you
- 50:21Speaker 1: don't play this game at all because this line stinks
- 50:25Speaker 1: and I almost will be certain I will have a
- 50:28Speaker 1: ticket in my pocket for South Carolina on Saturday just
- 50:32Speaker 1: because the line stinks so bad and they're not moving it,
- 50:34Speaker 1: which lets you believe that Vegas knows something, and I'm
- 50:38Speaker 1: not saying it's fixed. I'm just telling you, those dudes
- 50:41Speaker 1: get dialed in, and you see these lines happen all
- 50:44Speaker 1: the time. Are you involved in this at all?
- 50:47Speaker 2: No, but I'll tell you something to think about. This
- 50:50Speaker 2: is a road game in their eighth week of the season.
- 50:54Speaker 1: That is correct.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Without an off week.
- 50:56Speaker 1: LSU's in the same boat. That's right.
- 50:59Speaker 2: That's why this line is where it is. LSU's in
- 51:02Speaker 2: the exact same boat. Both those lines, I think, are
- 51:05Speaker 2: where they are. But, gosh, how is this– it just
- 51:09Speaker 2: feels like this defense is– I don't think this is
- 51:12Speaker 2: enough points. Auburn, it is enough points for me to
- 51:15Speaker 2: get involved. I don't think this is. This defense– man,
- 51:18Speaker 2: I watch Mississippi State, and that defense makes sellers look pedestrian.
- 51:24Speaker 2: I cannot imagine the volunteers aren't going to be able
- 51:27Speaker 2: to do it. But the difference is Taylor played great.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Tennessee doesn't have a quarterback. I mean, they are banged up.
- 51:35Speaker 2: This offense is very, very hard for them to stretch
- 51:37Speaker 2: it out. So I will stay away from this ball game.
- 51:42Speaker 2: But if you're going to take it, it does feel
- 51:45Speaker 2: like South Carolina may be the way to go.
- 51:48Speaker 1: You know you're going to have a ticket Saturday. UCLA
- 51:51Speaker 1: laying 14 against Michigan State. I would lay it with
- 51:54Speaker 1: UCLA at home. You've got a three-time zone of travel.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Michigan State going all the way across the country. Michigan
- 51:59Speaker 1: State's not very good. I think UCLA's got a ton
- 52:01Speaker 1: of momentum. I haven't gotten involved in it yet, but
- 52:03Speaker 1: I would lay the 14 there. move on down the
- 52:06Speaker 1: board a couple other games. Wazoo, Boise State. Wazoo at
- 52:10Speaker 1: home getting 13.5 points, but over under here is 51.5.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Seeing a lot of action come in on Wazoo here.
- 52:19Speaker 1: You're part of that movement, aren't you? Don't you have
- 52:21Speaker 1: a little Wazoo ticket?
- 52:23Speaker 2: I do like me a little Wazoo here. Look, Boise
- 52:26Speaker 2: is clearly the better team, but this is a lot
- 52:28Speaker 2: of points, so I like Wazoo here.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Virginia Tech getting two and a half at Clemson. Big game, James.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Is he going to get one done here? I mean,
- 52:40Speaker 1: he's coming off a bye. Didn't he have the Cal game? Oh, no,
- 52:43Speaker 1: he played Virginia Tech last week and won. That's right. Yep.
- 52:46Speaker 2: Yes, I do like big game James here. I still
- 52:50Speaker 2: can't get over watching some of the plays I've seen
- 52:54Speaker 2: from Clemson against talented football teams. I think Franklin may
- 52:58Speaker 2: get it done here.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Texas, Ole Miss. Texas is at home laying three and
- 53:04Speaker 1: a half against the Ole Miss Rebels. Again, another line
- 53:08Speaker 1: that reeks in this spot. I think you bet– I mean,
- 53:13Speaker 1: I'm not even going to handicap it. I'm just telling
- 53:14Speaker 1: you it's like– it's so obvious to take Ole Miss
- 53:18Speaker 1: plus three and a half that you have to bet
- 53:20Speaker 1: on Texas. And I know that may not make any
- 53:22Speaker 1: sense to you, but that line stinks so bad that
- 53:26Speaker 1: I don't know how you cannot think, okay, something ain't right.
- 53:31Speaker 2: Give me over 54.5 in this game.
- 53:33Speaker 1: I can see that, yeah.
- 53:34Speaker 2: Give me over 54.5. That's the way I'm going to
- 53:37Speaker 2: play this game. Again, I told you I'll be– especially
- 53:40Speaker 2: without Simmons, and I understand the other end is very,
- 53:43Speaker 2: very good and this defense is good. But I think
- 53:46Speaker 2: he is a really, really good football player. I think
- 53:48Speaker 2: they're going to be able to make some things happen.
- 53:51Speaker 2: But it was an emotional game for them with Lee
- 53:52Speaker 2: and Simmons coming back last week in that Missouri game.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Now they go on the road, but this is at
- 53:58Speaker 2: Texas State. So I think they're up and they're ready.
- 54:01Speaker 2: They get their best shot. I think Texas has got
- 54:04Speaker 2: to start throwing the football down the field. I think
- 54:06Speaker 2: we get some points in this ballgame.
- 54:08Speaker 1: I actually could see that. USC laying three at Wisconsin. Again,
- 54:12Speaker 1: another line that stinks. USC, this is their third trip
- 54:17Speaker 1: at least to the Central Time Zone this season. They
- 54:20Speaker 1: didn't look good at Rutgers. They covered at Penn State.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Here we come back to a Wisconsin team that is improved.
- 54:28Speaker 2: God, I'm going to do it again.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Give me the Trojans.
- 54:31Speaker 2: Is this his year? Is this his year? He's finally
- 54:35Speaker 2: going to make the playoff and get the monkey off
- 54:38Speaker 2: his back. Because if he wins this ball game. I
- 54:42Speaker 2: think they're going to be in a really, really good
- 54:43Speaker 2: position as they go forward. Because if they win this
- 54:48Speaker 2: ball game and they don't lose any of these games because, look,
- 54:51Speaker 2: they've traditionally lost them all, I think this win will
- 54:55Speaker 2: take him to 500 on the time zone travel if
- 54:58Speaker 2: he wins it. I think he's gotten his record to
- 54:59Speaker 2: four and five at this point now. So it's been
- 55:02Speaker 2: better when he played these teams. And, look, Wisconsin, I
- 55:09Speaker 2: took them last week. They were awful. I mean, absolutely
- 55:15Speaker 2: awful is can they string together enough to score? I
- 55:19Speaker 2: think you may be right. One other thing, Mark, we
- 55:22Speaker 2: were talking about lines. You got the Kentucky Wildcats hosting
- 55:26Speaker 2: another eight-week team with Vandy going on the road, but
- 55:31Speaker 2: the Cats have had a couple of huge wins. I
- 55:35Speaker 2: still think they get it done at home.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Look at that. Six and one, Kentucky.
- 55:43Speaker 2: The cats, baby. Both of them are on week eight.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Both of them are on week eight.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Do we know if he gets an automatic extension on
- 55:50Speaker 1: his contract if he wins seven games?
- 55:52Speaker 2: I have no idea. But if we get an upset
- 55:59Speaker 2: from Burt, he may get a contract extension, all right,
- 56:02Speaker 2: right on out to damn Oregon.
- 56:05Speaker 1: That may be true. I don't know. We'll see.
- 56:09Speaker 2: New Mexico.
- 56:10Speaker 1: North Dakota State, give me New Mexico minus four, but
- 56:13Speaker 1: where I really want to go with this is I'm
- 56:15Speaker 1: going to go under 41.5. New Mexico's offense is snail's pace.
- 56:20Speaker 1: They've been almost a dead under all season long. This
- 56:23Speaker 1: North Dakota State team is running completely out of gas.
- 56:28Speaker 1: They've had a couple of games they've pulled out of
- 56:30Speaker 1: their ass to get the wins to. Traveling down to
- 56:33Speaker 1: New Mexico, I just don't think they have the depth
- 56:35Speaker 1: to get it done here. All they can do is
- 56:37Speaker 1: run the ball. They don't have any downfield passing whatsoever.
- 56:40Speaker 1: The defense in New Mexico is a solid unit. Go
- 56:43Speaker 1: ahead and give it to me. I mean, the New
- 56:44Speaker 1: Mexico defense, both these teams defensively are giving up 11
- 56:47Speaker 1: and 10 points. Okay, where are you going to get
- 56:50Speaker 1: to 41? And so give me New Mexico.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Both don't want to run the football.
- 56:53Speaker 1: I'll take the under. Yeah, I'm taking the under. Last
- 56:55Speaker 1: game I want to tell you about, it's probably a
- 56:56Speaker 1: big game. A lot of people may not watch unless
- 56:58Speaker 1: you just love these teams. The Cougars traveling up to
- 57:01Speaker 1: Rice Eccles. Six and a half. Over-under is 56.5. Give
- 57:06Speaker 1: me the Cougs plus 6.5 in this one. I'm starting
- 57:09Speaker 1: to like what I see from Willie Fritz, man. I'm
- 57:13Speaker 1: going to take them in the spot. This is a
- 57:14Speaker 1: huge game, huge game for these teams. Winner of this
- 57:17Speaker 1: game kind of puts themselves in a good position to
- 57:20Speaker 1: get a chance to play in the Big 12 championship
- 57:22Speaker 1: and really still leaves the door open for them to
- 57:24Speaker 1: get a bid. And so I would tell you the
- 57:27Speaker 1: Cougs are a live dog in this one. But getting
- 57:29Speaker 1: that win against Oklahoma State, 35 to 32, was a
- 57:32Speaker 1: big deal. I didn't think they were going to do it.
- 57:34Speaker 1: They did. Go ahead and give me the Cougs in
- 57:36Speaker 1: this spot. You interested at all with this one?
- 57:38Speaker 2: I like this game. You can get me interested. Wagman
- 57:43Speaker 2: is playing really well. Let me tell you what I think.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Is everybody about 90 minutes up the road, which is
- 57:51Speaker 2: his ass was still in College Station. That's what I think.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Because if they were getting this kind of production out
- 57:57Speaker 2: of their quarterback, it's a totally different season for the Aggies.
- 58:02Speaker 2: The reason you can get me on board with this
- 58:04Speaker 2: is I know both the quarterbacks are hanging up big
- 58:07Speaker 2: numbers and they're different type players, but I'm not a
- 58:10Speaker 2: huge fan. You got to know who your dude is
- 58:12Speaker 2: when it matters because you're going to start getting in
- 58:14Speaker 2: the games where it matters. And I think this is
- 58:17Speaker 2: one of those games. I think Wegman's old enough, experienced enough.
- 58:20Speaker 2: He's been through so many games and so many tough
- 58:23Speaker 2: environments that going on the road to a tough environment
- 58:26Speaker 2: with a good football team, he may be able to
- 58:28Speaker 2: bring him out of there with a win, but certainly
- 58:30Speaker 2: close enough to keep it within a touchdown. So I
- 58:32Speaker 2: do like the Cougars.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Oh, let's get it done, Scotty. You got an underdog
- 58:37Speaker 1: parlay for me this week? I'm sure there's.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Something gross in there. We can string together a bunch.
- 58:42Speaker 2: I like many. I like UCF. I like– I mean, gosh,
- 58:48Speaker 2: there's a bunch of teams I like. I mean, are
- 58:50Speaker 2: you going to be surprised if Michigan doesn't win?
- 58:52Speaker 1: No.
- 58:52Speaker 2: I mean, are you going to be surprised if Virginia
- 58:55Speaker 2: Tech doesn't win? I mean, there are so many ways
- 58:59Speaker 2: to go on this underdog, but I think I will
- 59:02Speaker 2: take– UCF, unless that's the game you want. And if
- 59:07Speaker 2: you do, then I'll give you I'll. many.
- 59:11Speaker 1: I'll go with Illinois.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Let's go UCF and Illinois then.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Okay, we'll wrap those two together. That's a good payout.
- 59:20Speaker 1: That'll be our underdog play of the week. Folks, enjoy
- 59:23Speaker 1: your Saturday. College football is fun. It is made to
- 59:26Speaker 1: be fun. It's made to enjoy. Throw you a couple
- 59:29Speaker 1: units down. Enjoy the game, brother. It's going to be fun.
- 59:33Speaker 1: We've got a long way to go with this season.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I know we're week eight, but I'm still telling you,
- 59:37Speaker 1: there is a lot of weird shit to happen. We
- 59:39Speaker 1: haven't even gotten to that one weekend that they've been
- 59:41Speaker 1: talking about yet. What's it, November the 7th, when all.
- 59:44Speaker 2: The big teams play each other?
- 59:46Speaker 1: We've still got two weeks to get to that. And so,
- 59:48Speaker 1: It is going to be on. Thank y'all for the download.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Give us some reviews. Give us some notes. Tell us
- 59:53Speaker 1: we're idiots. Have a great time. We love y'all, and
- 59:56Speaker 1: we will talk to y'all next week.
