  contacted by the folks from Great Lakes and they said, hey,

  got to keep this a secret, but Great Lakes is finally coming to

  Tennessee and we want to meet you guys.

  We would you would love to meet up with you guys.

  Maybe we could record something. We ended up recording a podcast
• 6:07
  episode. What was that like 3 weeks ago?

  Now I think it was just, believe it or not, it was just two.

  We had to keep the secret. Yeah.

  So we, we, we kind of recorded it in secret only the people
• 6:17
  that were at the 51st half room N, is that right?

  Yep. Over West Nashville.

  Yep. Only those folks know new.

  So you know, and and the thing was that the word did not get

  out. Nobody, no, nobody had posted

  anything about it wasn't until a press release that the Great

  Lakes put out about two days ago talking about they have finally

  landed in Tennessee. Yeah, they were here when they
• 6:49
  reset us. They were here meeting with the
• 6:51
  distributor, which was Rs Littman and it's distributed
• 6:54
  across the state. They're going to have, I mean,
• 6:57
  and it's not just Nashville, it's starting on Monday.
• 6:59
  It's across the state and Lipman could do that for them.

  So while they were meeting with them, they invited us to join
• 7:05
  afterwards, like their little post party and, and it was
• 7:09
  awesome. They didn't have to do it.

  We said that 100 times. Appreciate that they did.

  And Chris and Josh were great and gave us a lot of details,
• 7:17
  which are on the episode that you can find on all podcast

  platforms. Oh yeah, that's right, an all

  Know, let's talk about how the beginning of this started.

  And you and I, when we finished that podcast a few weeks ago, we

  were tearing down our equipment. We were just sitting there
• 7:34
  eating and we're both like, you know, I don't even remember.

  I think it was both. We just both talked about the
• 7:42
  one day we were talking about Great Lakes and like just almost
• 7:45
  together. We're like, let's just start a
• 7:47
  petition Dr. and see if it works.
• 7:50
  And from my perspective, I was like, you know, let's do it.

  It'll be a fun thing to do. We're beer guys, You know, it's
• 7:59
  a it's a fun thing to keep moving on a podcast.

  We want to we want to be entertaining and let's see if it
• 8:05
  actually. Works.

  So we started the petition, Dr. And then I have to give you full
• 8:11
  credit because you had had created an Instagram page, all
• 8:15
  right? The Instagram page, I said why

  not back it up with the little social media?
• 8:20
  Yeah, let's get the word out there.

  You know, it was one more frigging thing to do, but we
• 8:25
  were happy to do it. Yeah.

  And it worked and it, and it got their attention, like literally

  kind of. And we heard a little bit about
• 8:33
  it kind of during the process. But afterwards we, they really
• 8:36
  told us that they were aware of it, they saw it, they hurt us
• 8:41
  and they were fully on board. And then, you know, they, they,
• 8:44
  they, they, you know, it was in, I think he said about a years
• 8:48
  and works for about a year. They're trying to get it to
• 8:50
  happen. So and, and it and it worked
• 8:52
  out. And, you know, we, we can't take
• 8:54
  all the credit. No, I think Great Lakes had a
• 8:56
  lot to do with it. Well, Great Lakes had a lot to
• 8:59
  do with it. They did a lot of the leg.

  They did. You know, I think we helped it
• 9:04
  along to getting the word out and hey, you know, there's these
• 9:07
  two beer guys that do a podcast in Nashville.

  They're trying to also get Great Lakes at Tennessee.
• 9:15
  And you know, we showed them a lot of love.
• 9:17
  We showed them a lot of support. Of course, we've had on Michael
• 9:20
  Williams, who's in their market marketing guy and also does he's
• 9:23
  like advanced sister own. He does everything and we've had
• 9:26
  him on a few times talking about Great Lakes, the brand, the
• 9:30
  history, everything. And then really to cap it all
• 9:34
  off, laugh like mid-May of last year, we went up there and we
• 9:39
  invaded Great Lakes and it was a lot of fun and you know, we got
• 9:43
  to meet some of the folks up there and it was just it was
• 9:47
  just a great time so. Yeah, just, I mean, Michael's
• 9:51
  been a proponent for us and a supporter of all of us, right
• 9:54
  from the first time we ever met him.
• 9:56
  And, and Great Lakes has been too.
• 9:58
  I mean, the whole, the whole entity has been behind us and
• 10:01
  we've heard from them along the way.
• 10:03
  And most recently in the last couple weeks, we've heard a lot,
• 10:06
  a lot of emails back and forth just getting things to giving us
• 10:10
  details and giving us, you know, some support and, and just we
• 10:14
  were coordinating some things and just can't sit back and
• 10:16
  forth and communication. It was great.

  They didn't have to include us in anything and they've kept us
• 10:21
  abreast the whole way. That's right, that's right.
• 10:23
  So anybody right now that you're watching us, if you have not yet

  It was like really kind of tongue in cheek, right.

  It was kind of like, you know, the fact that we got noticed by

  them was really cool. And we we tell the story and I

  think we've told a couple times. We met Michael when we finally

  met him at Great Lakes back in May, and the petition hadn't

  been out long. And here we go.

  It's just just funny, you know, It's like they actually, they,

  You know, and, and it's so funny, I, I had mentioned this

  before. I'd go back drinking crap beer

  for like a dozen years. And you know, being from Ohio,

  thing with them on. I couldn't.

  See the screen, but no, I remember going up to Ohio, you

  know, and go up to Ohio and really getting into craft beer

  and going into certain beer places up in like the Cincinnati

  area and I'd be like there's Great Lakes and I haven't had it

  yet. And so I'm I think one of my

  first ones because it was out there was Elliott Nest.

  new is the Midwest Height Kazy IPA, which we had, I think the

  first time you and I had it was back in May when we were before

  we even got to Great Lakes, we had it in at the ballpark.

  In Cincinnati, right, we were in a Reds game.

  That's the first time we ever had it there, yeah.

  Walked in because we had had Michael on the podcast, Michael

  Williams maybe about a month or so before that and walk in and

  that's one of the first thing we see and we're going to go get
• 12:51
  some beer. It's like, look what they got up
• 12:53
  there. I think got the Midwest hazy.

  So we hadn't, we hadn't seen it before that so.

  Yeah. Excited about these four?

  Pretty sure we'll probably eventually get some more

  seasonal stuff or come in. They even said probably as much

  because you go on their website as we have done and we have

  commented on over time. If you look at their website and

  had a look at their website, they were surrounding Tennessee

  like they they've been everywhere.

  They've been in Kentucky and the Carolinas and it was like all

  the way now. We got the Florida, Yeah.

  You got the Florida. And Puerto Rico.

  And I was like, I always felt like it was coming, like it was

  a matter of time, and it just did.

  Well, I, I don't know, during this time of, of you and I, when

  we started this petition, Dr. and really had tried to get them

  here. I don't think there was ever
• 15:16
  like a time where we doubted it necessarily were like, that's

  never going to happen. It felt like eventually it would
• 15:22
  happen. Now, when we got an e-mail a
• 15:25
  couple of weeks ago, like in the middle of the day, you know, you

  and I, you know, we'll text back and forth, we get podcast
• 15:33
  episodes or whatever. And basically you texted me and
• 15:37
  it was like, holy shit, it's happening.

  And I, I read it and I'm like, I better check my e-mail because
• 15:42
  it's probably something important.

  And I checked my e-mail and I was like, Oh my God, it as
• 15:49
  actually happening. Yeah.

  But we couldn't tell us all. Well, and kind of the great
• 15:56
  thing was when we got that, it was two days later we recorded

  that episode. It literally was that quick of a

  turn around, which was probably good in a lot of ways where we
• 16:04
  were thinking about it really all right.

  I was more so thinking about all right, we got to get permission

  from the venue that we're going to meet them at to make sure we
• 16:11
  can court and kind of turn that around pretty quickly and and
• 16:13
  they were great. 51st N tapping. You guys were great hosting us.

  So we don't really have time to think about it prior now in the

  last couple of weeks after we've recorded it, we're like, but

  they recorded or not recorded, but they dropped their press

  release this past Monday the 24th.

  And once that was out and they even told us once that was out,

  it's kind of public domain go full steam ahead.

  And we just had to wait for the episode to drop today that we

  had scheduled. But we could talk about it from

  that point on, and we have. Yeah, yeah.

  And as you said, you know we had their the Co CEO on, we have one

  Yep. Yeah, and they were, they were

  so accommodating and so fantastic.

  I mean that that's the thing. It's like, you know, we, we deal

  with a lot of great folks here. Well, really everywhere as far

  as like, you know, talking to and interviewing guys and gals

  that own breweries are involved in the brewery business and
• 17:09
  things like that. And I can tell you that from

  start to finish, Lakes, I mean, they've shown us so much love
• 17:18
  And, and, and really when you think about it, they are, they
• 17:21
  are an institution in the craft beer world.
• 17:25
  I mean, they go back starting like, you know, in the 80s,
• 17:29
  yeah, yeah, in the 80s, like 1988 or something when they
• 17:33
  started, you know, their craft beer business and up there in in
• 17:37
  Cleveland, OH. And they've been around for a
• 17:40
  long time. And so I mean, I, I think what
• 17:44
  people who craft beer lovers, if you've not had Great Lakes, you
• 17:49
  know, you go into the stores right now and you see some of
• 17:52
  the bigger brands out there and then you, you, if you have not
• 17:56
  had Great Lakes, man, you're in for a treat.

  Yeah. You know, Tennessee is one of
• 18:01
  those states, Nashville especially, but where people are
• 18:05
  from everywhere else mostly, right.
• 18:08
  And a lot of them are from places up north that, yeah,
• 18:11
  could get Great Lakes when they lived in those states, right?
• 18:14
  Ohio or New York or any of those.
• 18:16
  So they get here and realize they, I get to my point is it's
• 18:20
  recognizable to them already. Like, oh, we know about, we know
• 18:23
  how great it is. We just can't get it here
• 18:25
  anymore, you know? And I know Scott and Scott and
• 18:28
  2112, when he goes to Ohio or Kentucky, he's always bringing
• 18:33
  stuff back and he's making sure that we know that he's got some.

  And that's cool. So the brand is recognizable.

  It's not like it's going to get people like what is that?

  I think there are a lot of people that are from a lot of

  places that are familiar where they've had it.

  You've said this before, we can go to Kentucky to get it.

  It's not like it's in a third world country we have to go to.

  store, you want to be in the ground.

  So you know, it's an hour. You know, it's really longer

  hour South of Nashville on a good day, if there's not a lot

  of traffic, you know, I'm going to Kentucky is a good hour, hour

  and a half drive all the way up there.

  But you know, whenever, whenever I usually go to Ohio four or

  five times a year, go up and see family and friends, you know, up

  near Cincinnati or whatever, I always have stopped in, you

  know, various places. Let me get some Great Lakes.

  That summer was up there in December, you know, Party
• 19:26
  Source, the Mecca up there, brought back, you know, a bunch

  of cans of Great Lakes, and I was like, I'm all set for a

  couple of weeks at least. Yeah, and I want to give proper

  credit. So Keith crafted good beer out

  of Cleveland. He sent us the first, first
• 19:41
  Vibacious. Yeah, we've never even had that
• 19:44
  before. And that's maybe, I don't know,
• 19:45
  year and a half ago, whatever it was, and we were hooked from
• 19:48
  that one. And then we got Vibacious.

  Then we got Juicy. And I would just recently got
• 19:52
  the blood, the blood orange that brought back down from
• 19:55
  Cleveland. So a lot of credit to him for

  just introducing us to that. Now it's.

  Now we're just all in, right? Right with both.

  excited to get the four that we got.

  We're going to be joining, you know, we're going to be meeting

  up tomorrow and and getting some more Great Lakes beer.

  Lakes and he's got Ohio roots and he was talking about Great

  Lakes and, you know, one day hoping, and we didn't even know

  yet. And then that episode came out

  and we had already recorded the episode that it dropped today.
