- 1:09Speaker 2: and what's happening out in vegas what is a firman
- 1:11Speaker 2: how are you my friend I'm.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Doing well, gentlemen.
- 1:13Speaker 4: And before we get into a little bit of business,
- 1:15Speaker 4: I want to thank you guys for sending me my
- 1:18Speaker 4: next round live here that I plan to probably display
- 1:21Speaker 4: during this segment. But you guys taking the show on
- 1:23Speaker 4: the road so you can be there for the Mike
- 1:25Speaker 4: Norvell funeral tomorrow, it appears.
- 1:28Speaker 2: That's where you're black. Yeah, we appreciate you supporting that.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So we look forward to seeing that, I guess, two
- 1:33Speaker 2: Fridays from now because we're in Auburn next Friday. So
- 1:36Speaker 2: we'll get you on with that. I could only think
- 1:39Speaker 2: of you, honestly, Furman. I thought of you fondly this
- 1:41Speaker 2: week because I could only think of you when the
- 1:43Speaker 2: story first broke that Sam Leavitt was doubtful for the game.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Because I know you've had a lot to say about
- 1:49Speaker 2: how Lane Kiffin treats the availability report in SEC games.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And I could only see you just rolling your eyes
- 1:57Speaker 2: the first moment you saw that report.
- 1:59Speaker 4: I was thoroughly entertained when I saw that information get
- 2:02Speaker 4: out because I like to think I talk to people
- 2:04Speaker 4: close to a lot of these power programs. They usually
- 2:06Speaker 4: have an inkling when there's going to be a major
- 2:09Speaker 4: injury that could break. So that took me by surprise.
- 2:12Speaker 4: And then naturally, as always, I gravitate towards the betting
- 2:14Speaker 4: market to see how that is going to respond. So
- 2:17Speaker 4: what we saw to kind of walk people through that
- 2:19Speaker 4: don't sit and stare at the screen all day like
- 2:21Speaker 4: I do during football season, LSU was a three-point favorite
- 2:24Speaker 4: in the game, total 58.5%. That tweet comes out from
- 2:27Speaker 4: Pete Sammel, and you see immediately the betting market responds,
- 2:30Speaker 4: and rightfully so, but it didn't respond nearly as aggressively
- 2:34Speaker 4: as I would have anticipated. LSU goes from a three-point
- 2:37Speaker 4: favorite down to 1.5%. The total ticks down from 58.5%
- 2:40Speaker 4: to 57.5%. And within 10 minutes of that news breaking, though,
- 2:45Speaker 4: you start to see a little bit of LSU money
- 2:47Speaker 4: come back.
- 2:47Speaker 1: In the market.
- 2:48Speaker 4: When the number bottomed out at one and a half,
- 2:49Speaker 4: you get back to two, you get back to two
- 2:51Speaker 4: and a half. So within about a 35 minute life
- 2:54Speaker 4: cycle in the betting market with a valuable quarterback at
- 2:57Speaker 4: AP's out, probably worth about three and a half to
- 3:00Speaker 4: four points, the betting market responds by just moving a
- 3:03Speaker 4: half kick. So it goes to show that the betting
- 3:05Speaker 4: market trusts Lane Kiffin absolutely zero and in terms of
- 3:09Speaker 4: disclosing the kind of information. And look, if Sam Leavitt
- 3:12Speaker 4: was dinged up, I mean, full marks to them for
- 3:14Speaker 4: handling it the right way. But if this was all gamesmanship,
- 3:17Speaker 4: I think the SEC has to start handing out sterner
- 3:19Speaker 4: penalties if they want to try and think they're creating
- 3:22Speaker 4: a level of transparency, knowing that sports betting isn't going away,
- 3:25Speaker 4: especially in that conference.
- 3:28Speaker 5: With that said, Furman, LSU, depending on where you shop at,
- 3:31Speaker 5: two and a half to three right now, I.
- 3:35Speaker 5: The Ole Miss defense, based on what I saw on
- 3:37Speaker 5: that Monday night against Louisville, scares me. They missed a
- 3:39Speaker 5: lot of tackles. But what scares me more is Sam
- 3:42Speaker 5: Levitt and his ability to turn the football over on
- 3:45Speaker 5: the road with this buzz. I like Ole Miss. Where
- 3:48Speaker 5: are you on this game?
- 3:50Speaker 4: So my numbers actually show a little bit of value
- 3:52Speaker 4: as odd as this may sound in LSU here. Even
- 3:54Speaker 4: if I factor in what will be one of the
- 3:56Speaker 4: more overwhelming home field advantages in a college football game
- 4:00Speaker 4: this season. But I don't get to making a bet,
- 4:03Speaker 4: making LSU a three and a half point favorite after
- 4:05Speaker 4: I handle that adjustment. Where I do see a little
- 4:08Speaker 4: bit of opportunity if Sam Leavitt is at all dinged
- 4:10Speaker 4: up knowing the strength of this Ole Miss defense. As
- 4:13Speaker 4: you alluded to, LT appears to be in that defensive line,
- 4:16Speaker 4: a secondary that leaves a little bit to be desired.
- 4:18Speaker 4: But I think if you make LSU one-dimensional, the one
- 4:20Speaker 4: dimension that you want to see them try and go
- 4:22Speaker 4: out there and execute would be a vertical passing game,
- 4:24Speaker 4: because I think that's where LSU has some deficiencies. And
- 4:27Speaker 4: on the other side of the ball, look, I think
- 4:29Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin and company will have a few unique looks
- 4:31Speaker 4: for Trinidad Chambliss. They may know Chambliss better than he
- 4:34Speaker 4: knows himself, having designed the offense that he's largely going
- 4:37Speaker 4: to be running, of course, with some different tweaks that
- 4:39Speaker 4: John David Baker taking over. People want to bet for points,
- 4:42Speaker 4: and I understand where they're coming in thinking this is
- 4:44Speaker 4: going to be a track meet. Familiarity for me in
- 4:47Speaker 4: the past typically breeds teams that know each other inside
- 4:50Speaker 4: and out. I lean under the total, especially as this
- 4:52Speaker 4: number continues to climb, sitting just north of the key
- 4:55Speaker 4: number at 58 and that 58.5 range in hard rock bets.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Hey, I want to talk about tonight, if I can, Forrester.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It's not Forrester. Furman, I appreciate you, man, being on
- 5:04Speaker 1: with us, Mr.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Furman.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Houston and Texas Tech tonight. Fascinating game to me. I
- 5:08Speaker 1: am so worried about this Texas Tech offense. How do
- 5:11Speaker 1: you see that big, huge Big 12 game playing out?
- 5:14Speaker 4: And rightfully so. I mean, Tech hasn't exactly looked dynamic
- 5:18Speaker 4: in the first two games. And you can understand that
- 5:20Speaker 4: there are some legitimate concerns. Did they rush Will Hammond back?
- 5:23Speaker 4: Because they had to, knowing that Brandon Storsby was expected
- 5:26Speaker 4: to be QB1. And we know all of the off-field
- 5:29Speaker 4: transgressions that didn't allow him to be a part of
- 5:31Speaker 4: the program. The problem for Tech right now, the offense
- 5:34Speaker 4: can be one thing, but this defense lost some legitimate studs.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Jacob Rodriguez in the linebacking room, who was out there
- 5:40Speaker 4: as a tackling machine in his NFL debut for the Dolphins.
- 5:43Speaker 4: David Bailey and how disruptive he could be. And a
- 5:47Speaker 4: secondary for Tech that I think got away with a
- 5:49Speaker 4: bit of a free pass, knowing that the defensive line
- 5:51Speaker 4: essentially lived in the backfield last year. Now, on the
- 5:54Speaker 4: flip side of things for Houston, I'm not going to
- 5:56Speaker 4: put a whole lot of stock in their win over
- 5:58Speaker 4: Southern last week. You have one data point where Houston
- 6:01Speaker 4: looked a little bit better on the stat sheet, albeit
- 6:03Speaker 4: at home in a game that was marred by weather
- 6:05Speaker 4: against Oregon State, where Texas Tech needed to erase that
- 6:08Speaker 4: deficit in the fourth quarter. And I think it's still
- 6:10Speaker 4: trying to cover Jake Legree in that Beavers receiving room.
- 6:13Speaker 4: But this is a number, guys, where Tech would have
- 6:16Speaker 4: been a 13.5 to 14 point favorite if we saw
- 6:19Speaker 4: this game played week one. I'm not sure I'm buying
- 6:22Speaker 4: a full touchdown move to that seven and a half range,
- 6:25Speaker 4: but I do think defense could rule the day. And
- 6:27Speaker 4: both of these offenses have some questions to answer. So
- 6:30Speaker 4: I like this game under the total in the first half.
- 6:32Speaker 4: I think you're going to get the best out of
- 6:33Speaker 4: Texas Tech. I'm just not sure how good that really is.
- 6:35Speaker 4: And let's see if Willie Fritz unleashes his five-star athlete,
- 6:38Speaker 4: a quarterback, and Keyshawn Henderson, who was phenomenal in the
- 6:41Speaker 4: limited snap count last week against Southern.
- 6:44Speaker 2: One potentially under the radar game nationally in the Southeastern Conference,
- 6:48Speaker 2: Mississippi State at South Carolina, Furman. And South Carolina is
- 6:51Speaker 2: a four-point favorite with State coming into town. Kamario Taylor
- 6:55Speaker 2: has been the talk of the SEC. And some people
- 6:58Speaker 2: in the nation are calling him maybe the best quarterback
- 7:01Speaker 2: in the nation. Is there a chance they've got, I mean,
- 7:04Speaker 2: you never would have said this a year ago or so,
- 7:06Speaker 2: that they've got the quarterback advantage in this game between
- 7:08Speaker 2: Kamario Taylor and Lenore Sellers?
- 7:11Speaker 4: I do think you have to give Camario a slight
- 7:13Speaker 4: nod over Lenora Sellers, but that, of course, won't be
- 7:16Speaker 4: lost on Sellers in this kind of spot. He's human
- 7:18Speaker 4: like everybody else and has no doubt probably had to
- 7:20Speaker 4: read all the press clippings, as was Camario Taylor, you know,
- 7:24Speaker 4: grabbing those headlines. And this gives them an opportunity to
- 7:27Speaker 4: go out there and prove a point. When you look
- 7:29Speaker 4: at these two teams and who they've played so far,
- 7:31Speaker 4: South Carolina hasn't been tested by any stretch of the imagination.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Mississippi State no doubt opened some eyeballs with a dominant
- 7:37Speaker 4: performance going into unfamiliar territory and really taking it to
- 7:41Speaker 4: Minnesota from start to finish. The thing for South Carolina, though,
- 7:45Speaker 4: I really anticipate they've been playing a bit coy and
- 7:48Speaker 4: no greater illustration of that than them kind of holding
- 7:51Speaker 4: Dylan Stewart out. And looking to unleash him this week
- 7:54Speaker 4: against the Mississippi State offensive line that I think will
- 7:57Speaker 4: be tested in a way that they haven't through the first.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Couple of games.
- 8:00Speaker 4: You mentioned Lenora Sellers, and I think he'll be able
- 8:03Speaker 4: to flourish against the Mississippi State defense that has improved
- 8:05Speaker 4: this year, but still not where they need to be
- 8:08Speaker 4: before the season again. And I hate to revert back
- 8:10Speaker 4: to preseason power ratings because we have seen these teams play.
- 8:13Speaker 4: I made South Carolina a six-point favorite on.
- 8:15Speaker 1: A neutral field.
- 8:16Speaker 4: So if I factor in Williams-Brice for this spot, it
- 8:19Speaker 4: would be north of a touchdown. I, of course, have
- 8:21Speaker 4: upgraded Mississippi State arguably as much as any team in
- 8:23Speaker 4: the country, not named UMass, through the first couple of weeks.
- 8:26Speaker 4: I think it's a good buy-low opportunity for South Carolina.
- 8:29Speaker 4: And if you have access to the team total at
- 8:31Speaker 4: Hard Rock, I think that may be the best way
- 8:33Speaker 4: to attack the Gamecocks. I think they scored north of
- 8:35Speaker 4: 30 and forced Mississippi State to keep up from start
- 8:38Speaker 4: to finish.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Berman, two first-year coaches in John Summerall and Alex Golish
- 8:43Speaker 5: squaring off six-pack ESPN Central time tomorrow. Florida's look like
- 8:47Speaker 5: the better team. One of the reasons they're a two-and-a-half-point favorite.
- 8:50Speaker 5: But Auburn getting points in Jardiner at night. Where are
- 8:53Speaker 5: you right now on this matchup?
- 8:55Speaker 4: This is a game, in all honesty, I'm more excited
- 8:57Speaker 4: to watch than I will be LSU Ole Miss. Because
- 9:00Speaker 4: I think we have a pretty good indication of what
- 9:01Speaker 4: those two teams are going to be. Whereas the winner
- 9:03Speaker 4: of this game suddenly becomes a thorn in the side
- 9:06Speaker 4: of the rest of the SEC. And if Florida were
- 9:08Speaker 4: to go on the road and get this win, potentially
- 9:11Speaker 4: get a deflated Ole Miss team next week, Suddenly we're
- 9:13Speaker 4: talking about the Gators 4-0 and being 2-0 in conference.
- 9:16Speaker 4: But before we get ahead of ourselves there, this game
- 9:19Speaker 4: for me, LT, I wanted to be on Auburn. Unfortunately,
- 9:22Speaker 4: the market is not going to allow me to back
- 9:24Speaker 4: the Tigers here. I was looking for a field goal.
- 9:26Speaker 4: That was going to be my buy point. Haven't loved
- 9:29Speaker 4: what I've seen out of this Auburn offense. It's looked
- 9:31Speaker 4: a little bit clunky, at least through the first two games.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Southern Miss game, you know, I don't put a whole
- 9:36Speaker 4: lot in it. But again, Baylor is kind of where
- 9:37Speaker 4: I go back. Meanwhile, for Florida, they absolutely eviscerated FAU
- 9:42Speaker 4: in their opener. They were dominant like you'd expect them
- 9:44Speaker 4: to be against Campbell. So I'm not quite sure we'll
- 9:46Speaker 4: take away from that. The matchup to watch that I
- 9:49Speaker 4: think will determine this outcome isn't Auburn offensively against Florida's defense.
- 9:53Speaker 4: It's more on the other side in terms of what
- 9:55Speaker 4: DJ Durkin can do to throw looks at Aaron Filo
- 9:58Speaker 4: and confuse him. Because I think what's underrated about this
- 10:01Speaker 4: Florida team is their skill position talent, not just with
- 10:03Speaker 4: Jaden Ball in the backfield, but it's a relatively deep
- 10:06Speaker 4: receiving room. So Auburn is going to have to get
- 10:08Speaker 4: after Aaron Filo, get him off his mark and lean
- 10:11Speaker 4: into some of that Jordan hair nighttime mystique here. But
- 10:14Speaker 4: a game I'll watch not running to bet knowing I
- 10:16Speaker 4: can't get Auburn plus the three.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Let's talk about Kentucky. They had Alabama at the half
- 10:23Speaker 1: and then a disastrous second half. They go on the
- 10:27Speaker 1: road to play Texas A & M. Can you make
- 10:29Speaker 1: a case for Kentucky staying inside the number down at
- 10:33Speaker 1: Kyle Field?
- 10:35Speaker 4: What a wild set of games. When you look at
- 10:37Speaker 4: how those two contests unfolded, you mentioned Kentucky getting blitzed
- 10:41Speaker 4: 32-0 in the second half, and Kentucky took a ton
- 10:45Speaker 4: of sharp money. I know we talked about the game
- 10:46Speaker 4: on Friday with Kentucky right around a 10-point underdog. They
- 10:50Speaker 4: actually went.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Off as low as 8-0.
- 10:52Speaker 4: In the betting market, and that wasn't the recreational bettors
- 10:55Speaker 4: gravitating towards the home underdog in Lexington. Alabama found another gear.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Kentucky wasn't able to match, and the final score cosmetics
- 11:02Speaker 4: looked to be a little misleading. But not to be outdone,
- 11:05Speaker 4: Texas A & M was in a unique game of
- 11:07Speaker 4: their own. I mean, essentially what appeared to be or
- 11:09Speaker 4: thought it was going to be a four-quarter fight turned
- 11:12Speaker 4: into a blow with A & M exploding for 24
- 11:14Speaker 4: points in the fourth quarter, a couple of pick sixes,
- 11:17Speaker 4: some short fields, and they really made life difficult for
- 11:20Speaker 4: Cutter Bowley under center. So when you have those combination
- 11:23Speaker 4: of events, you have, in my opinion, what's a slightly
- 11:26Speaker 4: inflated number that got out to 17 in this game.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I worry about Kentucky's receivers being able to create some
- 11:32Speaker 4: separation against that A & M defensive backroom. I was
- 11:35Speaker 4: a seller of A & M before the year, and
- 11:37Speaker 4: that's not really going to change. I do think Kentucky
- 11:40Speaker 4: makes a little bit of sense as a value proposition,
- 11:42Speaker 4: knowing that the scoreboards have inflated this number past where
- 11:45Speaker 4: I thought it was going to open in that 14
- 11:47Speaker 4: and 14 and a half range and probably stick all week.
- 11:50Speaker 1: One more before we get to some NFL.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Just next door to us here in Tuscaloosa, Florida State
- 11:55Speaker 2: is playing at Alabama. I want to know what you
- 11:58Speaker 2: think of the game overall, but specifically, the total at 49.5,
- 12:02Speaker 2: Alabama's defense has been absolutely dominant. Florida State's offense is not.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I mean, that 49.5 total, while kind of low in
- 12:10Speaker 2: college football, to me feels a little high for this
- 12:13Speaker 2: game because of Alabama's defense.
- 12:15Speaker 4: You mentioned it, Brownie, and I think that's a story
- 12:17Speaker 4: that's probably not getting enough credit through the first couple
- 12:19Speaker 4: weeks of the season. So much of the attention was
- 12:22Speaker 4: focused on what Keelan Russell, Ryan Coleman-Williams, and that Alabama
- 12:26Speaker 4: offense would look like. But it's the defense that has
- 12:28Speaker 4: really stolen the show. There was one coverage break against
- 12:31Speaker 4: East Carolina, and they were pretty buttoned up for four
- 12:33Speaker 4: quarters there. And then just finding a way to elevate
- 12:35Speaker 4: things against Kentucky in that second half really stood out
- 12:40Speaker 4: in hostile territory. And against the Florida State team, that's
- 12:42Speaker 4: extremely one-dimensional defensively. Ashton Daniels doesn't scare you throwing the
- 12:45Speaker 4: ball downfield. If you can sell out and stop chroma
- 12:48Speaker 4: in the backfield, I think things can snowball pretty quickly.
- 12:51Speaker 4: The problem that I have in trying to make it
- 12:53Speaker 4: strong case to go under the total is I don't
- 12:55Speaker 4: have much confidence in Florida State defensively. If Alabama wants
- 12:58Speaker 4: to open it up, And exact to measure revenge for
- 13:01Speaker 4: what didn't go their way at Joe Campbell last year.
- 13:04Speaker 4: I think they can do it. Florida State's going to
- 13:06Speaker 4: do everything they can early in this contest to kind
- 13:08Speaker 4: of shorten the game, be a little bit more methodical
- 13:11Speaker 4: on offense. But that's a great plan until you get
- 13:13Speaker 4: down by 14 to 17 points. If you're looking to
- 13:16Speaker 4: get involved here, I'll default to the team total market.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I would rather focus on Alabama's offense having success against
- 13:22Speaker 4: the FSU defense and making a case there more so
- 13:25Speaker 4: than getting involved in a full game total where I
- 13:27Speaker 4: think Alabama realistically can run away and hide in this
- 13:29Speaker 4: game and Florida State may not give you much.
- 13:32Speaker 1: SMU Louisville before we move to the NFL. I apologize
- 13:35Speaker 1: for adding one on here. I look back and Brett
- 13:39Speaker 1: Lashley has beaten Brom both times they played. This game's
- 13:43Speaker 1: in Louisville. And I really have liked Keen Holtz more
- 13:47Speaker 1: than Jennings through the first two weeks of the season.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Do you have a lean on SMU Louisville, one of
- 13:51Speaker 1: the biggest games of the weekend?
- 13:53Speaker 4: Yeah, a real fun game, and I think when you
- 13:56Speaker 4: do this long enough, you hate to kind of look
- 13:59Speaker 4: at Malcolm Gladwell talking about thin slicing, and you look
- 14:02Speaker 4: at a number and it leaves you scratching your head.
- 14:03Speaker 4: I imagine, I don't want to put words in LT's mouth,
- 14:06Speaker 4: but I have an idea where he's going in this game.
- 14:08Speaker 4: When you see Louisville open as a one-point favorite, it
- 14:11Speaker 4: feels like it is begging, and I mean begging, for
- 14:13Speaker 4: folks to run to the window and back Lincoln Keyholtz,
- 14:16Speaker 4: because people do remember what they saw that opening weekend.
- 14:18Speaker 4: And that was Louisville having a chance to upset Ole
- 14:21Speaker 4: Miss and being better, arguably, for four quarters. Meanwhile, SMU
- 14:24Speaker 4: continued to shoot themselves in the foot, self-destructing, and limped
- 14:28Speaker 4: across the finish line, pushing against Florida State. This SMU team,
- 14:32Speaker 4: at least early on, has been a little bit disappointing
- 14:34Speaker 4: in the trenches. You mentioned the erratic play of Kevin
- 14:36Speaker 4: Jennings and looking like you're going to have a quarterback
- 14:39Speaker 4: advantage for Louisville. But Rhett Lashley has had some things
- 14:42Speaker 4: up his sleeve in the previous two meetings. I think
- 14:44Speaker 4: some of that can continue in this particular spot. Not
- 14:47Speaker 4: a game that I'm running to get involved in, but
- 14:49Speaker 4: I will say, buyer beware here with Louisville a one-point favorite.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Wouldn't be surprised to see SMU actually close a one-point
- 14:56Speaker 4: favorite in the contest. Curious to see if this total
- 14:58Speaker 4: continues to come down, because if it were to dip
- 15:00Speaker 4: below 58.5, get down maybe in that 57.5 range, I
- 15:04Speaker 4: think you could see some fireworks, and I like the
- 15:06Speaker 4: game over.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Most people love playing overs, and if you play overs
- 15:11Speaker 5: last week in the NFL, you cashed in big time.
- 15:13Speaker 5: Last night going into that game, people were like, man,
- 15:16Speaker 5: that total's got to be bigger. And I'm like, you
- 15:18Speaker 5: can't put it higher than 54.5, and it flies over
- 15:20Speaker 5: the total, going 72 points. I stayed away from the
- 15:23Speaker 5: total last night. I did like the over, but I
- 15:26Speaker 5: wasn't about to jump on an over the way they
- 15:28Speaker 5: played out in week one. I unfortunately had Detroit. I
- 15:31Speaker 5: thought 31 would have been enough. With all that said...
- 15:34Speaker 5: I mean, how much have the books adjusted these totals? And,
- 15:38Speaker 5: you know, how do you play NFL totals this week
- 15:40Speaker 5: with everything flying over last week?
- 15:43Speaker 4: Well, if you thought 31 was going to be enough
- 15:44Speaker 4: for the Lions to cover five and a half, imagine
- 15:46Speaker 4: how I felt last week with Carolina scoring 37, catching
- 15:50Speaker 4: three and a half against the Bears and still not
- 15:51Speaker 4: getting within the side three touchdowns. So I feel your
- 15:54Speaker 4: pain completely when it comes to betting some of these
- 15:56Speaker 4: dogs that appear to be a little bit overmatched on paper.
- 15:59Speaker 4: The craziest part about this game, LT, and I look
- 16:02Speaker 4: at games a lot differently, of course, than most will.
- 16:04Speaker 4: I mean, this is a 34-17 game with 11 minutes
- 16:07Speaker 4: to go in the fourth quarter. If the Lions don't
- 16:09Speaker 4: punch it in and get the penalty on fourth down,
- 16:13Speaker 4: it's a 34-17 game and the over becomes a legitimate sweat.
- 16:16Speaker 4: If Buffalo wants to bleed a little clock and take
- 16:19Speaker 4: it down to about five minutes, punt and pin, and
- 16:21Speaker 4: suddenly you're going, wait a second. So much has to
- 16:23Speaker 4: go right to go over a total this large. Now
- 16:25Speaker 4: I know when you say that people look at the
- 16:27Speaker 4: final scoring up 72 points game was a rocking chair over.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I take a slightly different approach in terms of total
- 16:33Speaker 4: this week. I do think there are some games where
- 16:36Speaker 4: the numbers are a little bit inflated and you've seen
- 16:38Speaker 4: some under money come in the market. As a result,
- 16:41Speaker 4: the bears Vikings game opened 48 and a half. Took
- 16:43Speaker 4: some over money to get to 50, and then you
- 16:45Speaker 4: begin to realize it's a chess match between Brian Flores
- 16:48Speaker 4: and Ben Johnson. It's Carson Wentz as a starting quarterback,
- 16:51Speaker 4: and I'm not sure anyone feels comfortable going over a
- 16:53Speaker 4: total of 50 with Wentz being one of the signal
- 16:55Speaker 4: callers that's out there. We saw the Bengals involved in
- 16:59Speaker 4: a 33-27 track meet against Tampa, but the advanced box
- 17:02Speaker 4: scores that we run every week didn't suggest it should
- 17:04Speaker 4: have had nearly that many points. And the same could
- 17:06Speaker 4: be said for the Bills-Texans game that saw 67 points.
- 17:10Speaker 4: So it leads me to trying to find ways to
- 17:12Speaker 4: make cases for these unders. Did find one in that
- 17:15Speaker 4: Bengals-Texans game, went under 47, went under that total in
- 17:18Speaker 4: the first half. And the Sunday-Nighter as well made a
- 17:21Speaker 4: slight case to go under in the first half. I
- 17:23Speaker 4: think this Chiefs offense is a little bit too one-dimensional.
- 17:25Speaker 4: The Colts offense is struggling a bit. So you know me.
- 17:28Speaker 4: I'm going to try and gravitate towards defense-making adjustments. And
- 17:31Speaker 4: the element of surprise not necessarily being there for some
- 17:33Speaker 4: of these offensive coordinators after the highest scoring opening NFL
- 17:37Speaker 4: Sunday that we have seen since the NFL-AFL merger.
- 17:40Speaker 2: The Cardinals are only three and a half point dogs
- 17:42Speaker 2: at Seattle. I mean, in the offseason, what was this?
- 17:45Speaker 2: I mean, when you first saw a point spread, Seattle
- 17:47Speaker 2: playing those to Arizona, what was this number?
- 17:52Speaker 4: Yeah, look ahead numbers here on this game. If we
- 17:54Speaker 4: assume Sam Darnold was healthy, it would have been nine,
- 17:56Speaker 4: nine and a half.
- 17:57Speaker 1: So you make.
- 17:57Speaker 4: That four point adjustment, four, four and a half point
- 18:00Speaker 4: adjustment from Darnold down the lock. Arizona's power rating gets
- 18:03Speaker 4: a boost when you went outright as an eight and
- 18:05Speaker 4: a half point underdog. And here we are sitting with
- 18:07Speaker 4: this number, albeit Seattle having extended rest.
- 18:10Speaker 5: But I think this.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Cardinal team was overlooked by a lot of folks. I
- 18:13Speaker 4: know when we talked about it, I thought they could
- 18:14Speaker 4: be a point spread darling. I wasn't sure they were
- 18:16Speaker 4: going to pull off the outright upset. But roster-wise, there's
- 18:19Speaker 4: no comparison of what the Cardinals have from an offensive
- 18:21Speaker 4: and defensive standpoint compared to some of the bottom feeders
- 18:24Speaker 4: in the league, like the Cleveland Browns, like the Miami Dolphins,
- 18:26Speaker 4: and the Tennessee Titans. to some extent. I think this
- 18:29Speaker 4: is a team that should be power rated somewhere in,
- 18:31Speaker 4: you know, that, you know, 20 to 24 range. This
- 18:35Speaker 4: is a little bit of a bridge too far. So
- 18:36Speaker 4: I can't back Arizona here, but I'm not sure laying
- 18:39Speaker 4: points on the road with drew lock is a zip
- 18:41Speaker 4: code that I want to be in anytime soon. I
- 18:43Speaker 4: didn't feel comfortable doing it when he was a quarterback
- 18:45Speaker 4: at Missouri. I sure don't feel comfortable doing it in
- 18:47Speaker 4: the NFL, but a great measuring stick game for both
- 18:50Speaker 4: these teams. And what a wild storyline it would be
- 18:53Speaker 4: for a team that was a hundred to one at
- 18:54Speaker 4: hard rock back to win the NFC West coming into
- 18:56Speaker 4: the year. potentially being 2-0 with a win over the
- 18:59Speaker 4: defending Super Bowl champion if they can pull it off
- 19:00Speaker 4: on Sunday.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Furman, don't get hit by people jumping off the Broncos
- 19:06Speaker 1: in Bo Nix's bandwagon after week one. Jacksonville comes to town.
- 19:11Speaker 1: What do you make of the Broncos? There seems to
- 19:13Speaker 1: be a lot of panic in the Bronco market.
- 19:16Speaker 4: I mean, I was going to send you an air
- 19:17Speaker 4: cast on the way for that sprained ankle since I
- 19:19Speaker 4: know you like to lead the brigade of jumping off
- 19:21Speaker 4: bandwagons after just one bad 60-minute sample size. But history
- 19:25Speaker 4: tells you the Broncos will probably bounce back in this game,
- 19:29Speaker 4: but it has been a battle in the betting market.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Broncos now a two-and-a-half point favorite at Hard Rock. We've
- 19:33Speaker 4: seen some books go to three and a little bit
- 19:35Speaker 4: of resistance there. A little bit of over money has
- 19:38Speaker 4: come in as well. Look, Denver can't be as bad
- 19:41Speaker 4: on the defensive side from a tackling standpoint as what
- 19:43Speaker 4: we saw against Kenneth Walker and company. That looked more
- 19:46Speaker 4: like an FBS-FCS matchup than anything else. But this Jacksonville
- 19:50Speaker 4: team also had a tremendous amount of success in this
- 19:53Speaker 4: building last year. A 34-20 win. Parker Washington going for
- 19:57Speaker 4: 140-plus receiving yards. And the one thing about Denver that
- 20:00Speaker 4: I think it's overlooked, while a lot of people buy
- 20:03Speaker 4: into the defense, when they step up, we've seen crooked
- 20:06Speaker 4: numbers get put up against them. There's no John Franklin
- 20:09Speaker 4: Myers on this defense, Jonathan Cooper dealing with the off-field situation.
- 20:13Speaker 4: So it changes some of the depth for a team
- 20:14Speaker 4: that likes to play light boxes. And when you have
- 20:16Speaker 4: a cover corner Patrick Sertan that can erase part of
- 20:19Speaker 4: the field, it's great against teams that have one true
- 20:22Speaker 4: number one receiver. But Jacksonville has a trio of guys
- 20:25Speaker 4: that can beat you in Parker Washington, Jacoby Myers, and
- 20:28Speaker 4: Brian Thomas Jr. So a fun, fun game here where
- 20:31Speaker 4: I think Denver will look better on both sides of
- 20:33Speaker 4: the ball, but Jacksonville may be the real deal. I
- 20:35Speaker 4: actually like this game over the total a bit, and
- 20:37Speaker 4: personally bet Bo Nix over his passing yardage total at 222.5.
- 20:42Speaker 5: All right. All right. Furman. Welcome back, Bo.
- 20:45Speaker 1: There you go.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Furman, as you go, people, if you're under the radar pick,
- 20:48Speaker 2: what you got for us this weekend under the radar?
- 20:51Speaker 4: Yeah, split last week with Air Force struggling to get there.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Got themselves in a hole 35-13 against North Dakota State.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Fought back valiantly, couldn't get there. But at least we
- 20:58Speaker 4: got the outright win with FAU on the money line.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Plus $ 1. 85. When it comes to week three, before we
- 21:05Speaker 4: start to head into conference play, there's always an opportunity
- 21:08Speaker 4: for a little bit of dumpster diving. And since we've
- 21:10Speaker 4: kind of gone two, I'll give you two this week.
- 21:13Speaker 4: One total, one side. South Alabama against Ohio. Total on
- 21:18Speaker 4: that game has been bet down a touch from 54
- 21:21Speaker 4: down to 49. And that's because Ohio is dealing with
- 21:24Speaker 4: a rash of injuries at the quarterback position and running
- 21:26Speaker 4: back wise. Bishop Davenport had a big day last week
- 21:29Speaker 4: against Tulane, but I think the Ohio defense will provide
- 21:31Speaker 4: a little bit more resistance. I look for this game
- 21:33Speaker 4: to start slowly. I'll go under 24 and a half.
- 21:37Speaker 4: In the first half of that game. And then who
- 21:39Speaker 4: doesn't love spending their Saturdays either with Dunaway or rooting
- 21:42Speaker 4: for Akron football. I think Akron hangs around against Minnesota.
- 21:46Speaker 4: I'll take Zippy Chippy plus the 23 and a half
- 21:49Speaker 4: against the Gophers. Minnesota's flow methodical could be nursing their
- 21:53Speaker 4: wounds for having their soul snatch last week against Mississippi State.
- 21:57Speaker 4: So give me the zips. Anything north of three touchdowns.
- 22:00Speaker 4: My numbers make it in that 20 and a half range.
- 22:03Speaker 4: And I would not be surprised if Akron is able
- 22:05Speaker 4: to turn this into a little bit more of a
- 22:07Speaker 4: sweat for the Golden Gophers than what this number suggests.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I watched much, much, much, much, much more of Ohio
- 22:15Speaker 2: than I ever wanted to last Saturday night. They are
- 22:18Speaker 2: not a good football team. Not a good football team.
- 22:22Speaker 4: That is putting it mildly. Ohio has plenty of things
- 22:25Speaker 4: that they have to work through, to say the least.
- 22:28Speaker 4: And quarterback depth when you're at a G6 school is
- 22:31Speaker 4: not going to be a position of strength. So if
- 22:33Speaker 4: South Alabama can go out there and just get to
- 22:35Speaker 4: the half, up 20-3, I'll feel a lot better about things.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Of course, the backup came in and beat my Jacksonville
- 22:40Speaker 2: State Gamecocks in overtime. But that is another story.
- 22:45Speaker 4: To the Gamecocks credit, that was one of the more
- 22:47Speaker 4: misleading finals. And I know it's not salve in the
- 22:49Speaker 4: wound when you're not able to get the win. But
- 22:51Speaker 4: you look at that box score, the way that game
- 22:53Speaker 4: played out, Ohio probably wins that game about 10% of
- 22:55Speaker 4: the time.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it was not a good performance by Charles Kelly
- 22:59Speaker 2: and his Jacksonville State Gamecocks down the stretch there. Furman,
- 23:02Speaker 2: thank you very much for the time. Bet the Board
- 23:04Speaker 2: podcast available with Sport and State. And follow Furman on

- 23:32Speaker 5: Can I buy me one?
- 23:33Speaker 1: They have hats.
- 23:34Speaker 5: They've got T-shirts. I mean, they've got hoodies. They've got
- 23:36Speaker 5: everything here. And, of course, home of the Yellowhammer for
- 23:40Speaker 5: 50 years, great pre- and post-game stop, the closest bar

- 23:48Speaker 5: Of course, we're going to have great Bud Light specials
- 23:50Speaker 5: coming up all day. It's going to be a lot
- 23:51Speaker 5: of fun celebrating 50 years right here at Gillette.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Remind me to ask in a commercial break. I'm getting
- 23:56Speaker 1: a text from people about can they still buy the
- 23:58Speaker 1: half gallons to go and the gallons to go here.
- 24:01Speaker 5: You know about that? I do not know if you
- 24:02Speaker 5: can get them to go, but I'll ask. I'm sure
- 24:05Speaker 5: you can. Yeah, to take to tailgates.
- 24:06Speaker 1: People are asking about running up to the tailgates. over
- 24:09Speaker 1: the weekend. I'll ask that question in the commercial break.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Maybe we'll give you an answer.
- 24:12Speaker 5: When we come back.
- 24:13Speaker 1: We'll definitely talk Florida State, Alabama, and a lot more
- 24:16Speaker 1: as we move on throughout the day. Mick Gillespie is
- 24:18Speaker 1: going to be with us here in just a second
- 24:20Speaker 1: to talk Alabama football. All that as we continue on

- 25:46Speaker 1: how you doing, buddy?
- 25:47Speaker 5: I'm good.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Good to see you guys, too. I hope you like
- 25:50Speaker 6: my stylish wares.
- 25:52Speaker 5: I do.
- 25:52Speaker 6: This is just a troll coker.
- 25:53Speaker 5: That is some tacky shit.
- 25:55Speaker 6: This is about my style.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Alabama here.
- 25:57Speaker 6: He doesn't know it.
- 25:58Speaker 1: He's at a golf tournament.
- 25:59Speaker 6: I'll see him shortly.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Alabama Cambo. I like it. Yeah, I mean, come on.
- 26:03Speaker 1: I'm surprised you could see me. Hey, what a difference
- 26:05Speaker 1: a year makes, man. People like me, I know definitely
- 26:09Speaker 1: you thought Lance, Brownie. Thought it was going to be
- 26:12Speaker 1: a cakewalk last year in Tallahassee. I warned all summer
- 26:16Speaker 1: long it wasn't going to be as easy as everybody thought,
- 26:18Speaker 1: but I never thought Alabama was going to lose that
- 26:20Speaker 1: football game. A year later, it feels like we're in
- 26:23Speaker 1: the same position. It doesn't feel like Alabama has a
- 26:26Speaker 1: chance of losing this game, and most of us don't
- 26:28Speaker 1: even think it's going to be close again. How do
- 26:29Speaker 1: you feel?
- 26:30Speaker 6: Well, last year I was kind of on the other end.
- 26:33Speaker 6: When Jake and I finished our show, I told him
- 26:36Speaker 6: that I thought that it was a trap for us.
- 26:38Speaker 6: I just had that feeling that they weren't prepared. This year,
- 26:42Speaker 6: I think Alabama's in really good position. The fact that
- 26:46Speaker 6: they attack on third down like they have. Only one
- 26:49Speaker 6: third down conversion that their defense has allowed this year.
- 26:53Speaker 6: Florida State struggled. Ashton Daniels is not a good quarterback.
- 26:56Speaker 5: I mean, we know that.
- 26:58Speaker 6: And if they control the run game and force Florida
- 27:00Speaker 6: State to throw, I think Alabama's going to be on
- 27:02Speaker 6: attack mode. And then the other thing, too, and I've
- 27:05Speaker 6: heard this from a few people, they've been extra motivated
- 27:07Speaker 6: for this game. I think revenge factor is going to
- 27:10Speaker 6: be a big deal. And if If it's a blowout,
- 27:12Speaker 6: Mike Norvell could get fired in that case.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Think about that.
- 27:15Speaker 6: I mean, it's chaos over there at Florida State. You know,
- 27:18Speaker 6: they had it more together last year, the Simmons.
- 27:20Speaker 5: Look, this defense, you talk about third downs. I think
- 27:22Speaker 5: it is 1-23 right now. They feel it's crazy. It's
- 27:26Speaker 5: a championship-level defense. Keelan Russell is going to be really good. But,
- 27:30Speaker 5: you know, the focus coming into the season, balance on offense.
- 27:33Speaker 5: Can Ryan Grubb in this unit, can they run the
- 27:36Speaker 5: football consistently? I mean, first two tests against East Carolina
- 27:39Speaker 5: and Kentucky, They've kind of looked the part.
- 27:42Speaker 1: They look improved. But do you think it continues to
- 27:45Speaker 1: play out like that?
- 27:45Speaker 5: I hope so.
- 27:47Speaker 6: I really like Alabama being smart about their play calling,
- 27:51Speaker 6: run the football, and play to the defense. This defense
- 27:54Speaker 6: up front is so good. And how about the linebackers?
- 27:57Speaker 6: Alabama is underrated with the job they did in the
- 28:00Speaker 6: transfer portal. Caleb Woodson looks like one of the best linebackers.
- 28:05Speaker 6: You talk about Green and Tompkins up front. I mean,
- 28:08Speaker 6: they're getting back at the quarterback. Luke Metz, who obviously
- 28:11Speaker 6: didn't transfer in, but he's been so good. The secondary's great.
- 28:14Speaker 6: I think Alabama's defense is going to be hard to
- 28:17Speaker 6: drive consistently on for a team like Florida State. So
- 28:22Speaker 6: I'm watching the first half of the Kentucky game, and
- 28:24Speaker 6: they're doing all this passing and kind of these weird
- 28:28Speaker 6: plays Jake was talking about on our show, last call
- 28:33Speaker 6: right here on this platform, that he hated that throw
- 28:35Speaker 6: that was the one that got intercepted because you have
- 28:38Speaker 6: to get around in the end. The angle's tough.
- 28:41Speaker 5: Don't take tough angles.
- 28:43Speaker 6: Give the ball to Daniel Hill and punt. Nick Saban
- 28:46Speaker 6: was a master of understanding what his team could do
- 28:49Speaker 6: and what he had and strength was, right? Our strength
- 28:52Speaker 6: right now isn't going to be throwing the football down
- 28:54Speaker 6: the field. Eventually, it will. Our strength right now is
- 28:57Speaker 6: running the ball, which we did in the second half
- 28:59Speaker 6: very effectively with Hill, and then the defense.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Was that a subtle shot at Caleb O'Brien?
- 29:05Speaker 6: Oh, Ryan Grubb.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Well, I've seen a film break out. You can get
- 29:09Speaker 2: Mick's and Jake Coker's show at Next Round Live on YouTube.
- 29:14Speaker 2: At Next Round Live on YouTube is Last Call. The
- 29:16Speaker 2: former Alabama quarterback, Jake Coker, he and Mick talk Alabama football,
- 29:19Speaker 2: and they do a tremendous job. So many of you
- 29:21Speaker 2: love it. The latest one.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Out called the Coker Bowl because Jake played it.
- 29:24Speaker 5: That's right.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Really interesting this weekend because Jake was at both places.
- 29:27Speaker 2: But I've seen a film break down on that play,
- 29:29Speaker 2: and a lot of people thought that was an RPO.
- 29:30Speaker 2: You're talking about the pick six on the goal line.
- 29:32Speaker 5: Yeah. A lot of people thought that was an RPO.
- 29:35Speaker 2: When in fact, if you look at it, it's a
- 29:36Speaker 2: tunnel screen to Ryan Coleman Williams. But they they allow
- 29:40Speaker 2: a free run by a big defensive end. I mean,
- 29:43Speaker 2: a big rush in.
- 29:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 1: And I think Jake's point is the quarterback's responsible for
- 29:49Speaker 1: that defensive end.
- 29:49Speaker 5: He's got to play around him. It's hard to do.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Right. But that's also a pretty big dude. I mean,
- 29:54Speaker 2: you're asking Keelan Russell, a very young quarterback, to do
- 29:57Speaker 2: a lot on that play.
- 29:58Speaker 6: Yeah, and it's his first, like, road game. How about
- 30:01Speaker 6: do this on the play?
- 30:02Speaker 1: It was an aggressive call on the goal line.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Right, right.
- 30:06Speaker 6: Keelan Russell.
- 30:06Speaker 5: But if you look at it from the end zone,
- 30:07Speaker 5: they got it set up. But that was a hell
- 30:09Speaker 5: of a play by that. But if they get it
- 30:11Speaker 5: to Coleman Williams, it goes to the house.
- 30:13Speaker 2: If they give it to Coleman Williams, he goes a
- 30:14Speaker 2: long way. If you look from end zone, the opposite
- 30:16Speaker 2: end zone, he's got some running.
- 30:18Speaker 6: And look, I understand.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Wait, I dropped the ball.
- 30:21Speaker 5: That's true.
- 30:22Speaker 1: He would have caught it.
- 30:23Speaker 6: I understand, too, like where Ryan Grubb is. He said
- 30:27Speaker 6: in the press conference, like, you know, they can't really
- 30:29Speaker 6: get to a lot of the stuff because they've got
- 30:31Speaker 6: to figure out the basics.
- 30:32Speaker 5: Right.
- 30:32Speaker 6: And I know that. He's going to be able to
- 30:34Speaker 6: do a lot of great stuff with with Keelan Russell.
- 30:37Speaker 6: But the strength of this team today is defense. Tomorrow,
- 30:42Speaker 6: it's going to be they're going to throw the ball
- 30:44Speaker 6: all over the place. I mean, this this guy is
- 30:46Speaker 6: super talented. He's he could be the most talented quarterback
- 30:50Speaker 6: Alabama's ever had. And I'm looking at, you know, Joe
- 30:52Speaker 6: Namath on the wall. That's pretty high praise. But he's
- 30:56Speaker 6: just not there yet.
- 30:57Speaker 1: You went by a hell of a lot of good
- 30:58Speaker 1: quarterbacks to get Joe Namath on that wall.
- 31:00Speaker 5: I know.
- 31:01Speaker 1: I mean, Joe is on the wall. And there are
- 31:03Speaker 1: no pictures between here and Joe Namath. I understand that.
- 31:06Speaker 1: I still think Bryce Young is the best I've seen
- 31:08Speaker 1: here personally.
- 31:09Speaker 5: He's right there. No, I get that.
- 31:11Speaker 6: I get that.
- 31:13Speaker 5: And he won a championship and Bryce did. Good point.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll stick with my man Stedman Sheely.
- 31:18Speaker 2: I think he did a lot back in the day.
- 31:21Speaker 1: All right, this is Vic Gillespie. We'll continue on with him.
- 31:23Speaker 1: If I asked you away from Alabama football, the best
- 31:26Speaker 1: team in the SEC right now, in your opinion, is?
- 31:30Speaker 6: I think it's Texas. I mean, I know that.
- 31:33Speaker 5: Not the answer I thought you were going to say.
- 31:34Speaker 6: Well, Arch Manning, he's got to look off receivers, right?
- 31:38Speaker 6: You watch him throw, and it's like he's going to
- 31:40Speaker 6: throw it to the first guy that he sees. But
- 31:42Speaker 6: they've got so much talent, right? The second half of
- 31:44Speaker 6: the Ohio State game, they just ran the ball right
- 31:47Speaker 6: down Ohio State's throat. And I think Ohio State is
- 31:50Speaker 6: a contender for the national championship. You know, George is
- 31:54Speaker 6: really good, too. And I'm curious to see what LSU
- 31:58Speaker 6: looks like against Ole Miss this weekend. Two former Alabama assistants.
- 32:03Speaker 6: I feel like it's a grudge match. So those three teams.
- 32:06Speaker 5: Well, where you're going to be later today, up the
- 32:09Speaker 5: street a little bit, it is free. Lane Kiffin's been there. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:12Speaker 5: he has.
- 32:14Speaker 6: That's a whole other story.
- 32:15Speaker 1: His special spot in the kitchen.
- 32:16Speaker 6: I want to do like– Do you.
- 32:19Speaker 5: Have any true stories you can tell us about Lane Kiffin?
- 32:21Speaker 5: You spent plenty of time down here.
- 32:23Speaker 6: Yeah, I want to save that for– my Chappelle show,
- 32:26Speaker 6: the Mick show. I'm going to dress up like Lane, like,
- 32:28Speaker 6: you know, he did with Rick James and go through
- 32:31Speaker 6: all of these stories that I've heard.
- 32:34Speaker 1: And then it'd been like, how far are you going
- 32:36Speaker 1: to go on the reenactment?
- 32:38Speaker 6: All the way back to Tennessee, all the way back
- 32:40Speaker 6: to Tennessee, maybe the Raiders.
- 32:42Speaker 5: People would pay for that fantasy camp, wouldn't they?
- 32:45Speaker 1: As far as he can.
- 32:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I did.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I saw that.
- 32:48Speaker 5: I saw that bit.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that's hilarious.
- 32:50Speaker 6: Kiffin would blow those out.
- 32:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Nice choice of words.
- 32:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Would you, uh, how much would you want to be
- 32:56Speaker 2: in that circus this week? Like if I gave you tickets,
- 32:58Speaker 2: would you want to go over there?
- 33:00Speaker 5: I wouldn't know. How much would I have to pay
- 33:02Speaker 5: you to go do that? That's crazy.
- 33:03Speaker 6: I was talking to a buddy of mine, uh, that
- 33:05Speaker 6: was saying that, that he works with the bus and
- 33:07Speaker 6: with the boy guy, boys guys. Yeah. And they got
- 33:09Speaker 6: sent to, um, down to Florida, Auburn, uh, Florida game.
- 33:15Speaker 6: And then we were talking about this same topic. I mean,
- 33:17Speaker 6: on the drive in my man Cruz. And I was like,
- 33:20Speaker 6: I don't know. I, I've seen all this stuff. President
- 33:24Speaker 6: Trump coming to the Alabama-LSU game or the Georgia game
- 33:28Speaker 6: and all the people from all over. I can watch
- 33:31Speaker 6: it on TV and be just as comfortable. Who knows
- 33:35Speaker 6: how much debris is going to be thrown on the field?
- 33:38Speaker 6: It could be a long night.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Those weekends are young man games. Game of the century,
- 33:42Speaker 1: but it wasn't as hostile here. The 2019, a little
- 33:47Speaker 1: bit more hostile, but still not the same. They've actually
- 33:50Speaker 1: put up fencing around where the visiting bus will unload.
- 33:54Speaker 1: They built fencing, high fencing. And then they're talking about
- 34:00Speaker 1: maybe an extra covering of where Ole Miss comes out.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I mean, where LSU comes out to get Kiffin out
- 34:07Speaker 1: of the tunnel onto the field. So there may be
- 34:09Speaker 1: a little extended tunnel. I mean, literally things you do
- 34:13Speaker 1: when presidential presidents are leaving buildings.
- 34:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I was talking to Chris Lowe about this, and
- 34:18Speaker 6: I said, it reminds me of, like, WrestleMania, right? And
- 34:22Speaker 6: Lane Kiffin is definitely a Ric Flair type of heel.
- 34:25Speaker 6: I mean, he is the perfect heel for the Tennessees
- 34:28Speaker 6: and Ole Miss. Everywhere he goes and works, you know,
- 34:30Speaker 6: he leaves quite a legacy behind of hate, you know? Like,
- 34:34Speaker 6: they were burning couches when he left.
- 34:36Speaker 5: And I still don't get it because he's such an
- 34:37Speaker 5: awkward guy that's never won anything.
- 34:40Speaker 1: I mean, he really has. Unlike Ric Flair. If we
- 34:43Speaker 1: ever hyped a.
- 34:44Speaker 5: Coach up to this level... That is, I mean, I
- 34:47Speaker 5: can't think of anybody that hasn't won a championship.
- 34:52Speaker 1: You're not going to be able to come up with
- 34:53Speaker 1: an example. No, I mean, it is really hard.
- 34:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Like, I think for a long time, people thought in
- 35:01Speaker 2: the NFL, John.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Gruden would fix it. He's at least won a Super Bowl.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I mean, Gruden's been a good coach. With Tony Dungy's players,
- 35:08Speaker 1: but yeah.
- 35:09Speaker 5: No, but you are right.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I mean, Gruden was one of those guys that had
- 35:12Speaker 1: kind of an aura about him.
- 35:14Speaker 5: Everybody wanted him. But Gruden had that good personality. It's
- 35:17Speaker 5: just something so weird about Lane.
- 35:19Speaker 1: I don't get it.
- 35:20Speaker 5: Again, I think he's a really good coach, too. I
- 35:21Speaker 5: think he's an elite coach. He's getting closer to that.
- 35:25Speaker 5: But the fanfare around him and the buzz and just
- 35:27Speaker 5: the attraction blows me away.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Crazy scene this weekend. What else are you talking about
- 35:33Speaker 1: on your show today, Ben?
- 35:34Speaker 6: Well, I mean, we're going to get into this football game. Obviously,
- 35:37Speaker 6: what's going on around the SEC. I'd love to get
- 35:41Speaker 6: Coker's takes on plays like the pick six. What a
- 35:46Speaker 6: quarterback's thinking in that position.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Hard to believe it's been 11 years now since he
- 35:51Speaker 1: won a national championship.
- 35:53Speaker 5: Seems like yesterday.
- 35:54Speaker 6: And Derrick Henry is still... Did you see his week
- 35:56Speaker 6: for the Ravens last week?
- 35:58Speaker 5: Yeah, Mick's a big Ravens fan. I didn't realize Mick
- 36:01Speaker 5: went to, you know, obviously he was in school here.
- 36:03Speaker 5: I know you're from Maryland, but I didn't realize you
- 36:06Speaker 5: went to Maryland.
- 36:07Speaker 6: Yeah, transferred. Maryland transferred.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Football Saturday is a little different, right?
- 36:12Speaker 6: Coker makes fun of playing against Maryland there. He was like,
- 36:15Speaker 6: I could hear one guy yelling at him.
- 36:19Speaker 5: All right.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Next round live on YouTube. You can always find our
- 36:23Speaker 2: stuff at next round live on YouTube and on social media.
- 36:26Speaker 5: Same thing. Same thing.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Next round live, whether we're old sporting state or not,
- 36:29Speaker 2: you'll see last call with Mick and Jake poker, the
- 36:32Speaker 2: Alabama national champion quarterback on there several.
- 36:35Speaker 5: Times a week.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Y'all have fun down at industry, man. That'd be a
- 36:38Speaker 1: good time today.
- 36:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:39Speaker 6: You guys good to see you guys too. Always watching
- 36:41Speaker 6: the show and, Extra hours, more work for you guys.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not work. It's not work, man. It's play.
- 36:46Speaker 1: I know Brown's words before it even comes up in
- 36:49Speaker 1: his mouth.
- 36:49Speaker 5: It's not work, man.
- 36:50Speaker 6: And don't forget the postgame show, too.
- 36:52Speaker 1: That's right.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Yeah, any Alabama postgame. Next round, like, same exact place
- 36:56Speaker 2: we're talking about. You can catch Mick taking phone calls.
- 36:59Speaker 2: He'll just take phone calls and talk to you for
- 37:00Speaker 2: a few hours.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Love it.
- 37:01Speaker 5: Fun time.
- 37:02Speaker 6: We drank bourbon last week.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Okay. Mick and I got on the wrong side of
- 37:06Speaker 1: each other last year because I believe you've got to
- 37:08Speaker 1: trust your kicker. You can't bury him as early as
- 37:10Speaker 1: Connor Tulte got buried last year by Mick.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Looks pretty good so far this year.
- 37:14Speaker 6: I'm getting my 31 jerseys. I'm happy about that.
- 37:18Speaker 1: You have him missing three kicks tomorrow, by the way.
- 37:21Speaker 6: No, he's not. He's locked in. The competition that they
- 37:25Speaker 6: created with Lork and Quinn.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Lork and Quinn.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Our guy from Arden.
- 37:29Speaker 5: That guy is great. Let me tell you what.
- 37:31Speaker 1: That kickoff, we might as well just down it. You
- 37:33Speaker 1: can't even take it.
- 37:34Speaker 2: I was about to say, there is not an Alabama
- 37:36Speaker 2: opponent that will start anywhere close.
- 37:38Speaker 5: Other than the 25. Yeah, right.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Hey, that's a weapon, too.
- 37:40Speaker 5: Oh, it's a heck of a weapon.
- 37:41Speaker 1: I mean, it's not landing in the letter.
- 37:42Speaker 5: No. I mean, he's kicking that thing in the stand.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Yeah, right.
- 37:45Speaker 6: Like the first row guy is catching a football.
- 37:47Speaker 5: That's right.
- 37:47Speaker 6: But, look, I want Alabama players to do well. You
- 37:51Speaker 6: know what I mean? I'm really happy to see.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Your wardrobe says that. Your wardrobe says that.
- 37:56Speaker 6: But, yeah, I mean, look at me. I'm wearing a.
- 37:58Speaker 5: Will you ever wear that again?
- 38:00Speaker 6: I think I want to know if Coker is going
- 38:02Speaker 6: to try to buy this off him.
- 38:04Speaker 1: I just can't wait to see.
- 38:05Speaker 5: You better hope.
- 38:06Speaker 6: It's all the stuff he loves.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Alabama camouflage.
- 38:10Speaker 5: You know, it says turkey, deer, and water.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Waterproof, too, right? It's been laundered, right? It wasn't at
- 38:18Speaker 1: one point a white. That's not our all white.
- 38:19Speaker 5: Oh, I think he took.
- 38:20Speaker 1: This is the first time. This is the first time
- 38:23Speaker 1: I've worn that. Oh, you did not find that, like
- 38:26Speaker 1: a vapor or good widows.
- 38:28Speaker 2: That's.
- 38:29Speaker 5: That is a purchase.
- 38:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:31Speaker 1: It was a purchase.
- 38:31Speaker 6: I'm curious to see the person that comes up and says, dude, I.
- 38:34Speaker 5: Love your shirt. Yeah. Yeah. I think I saw that movie.
- 38:41Speaker 1: All right, here we go. That is a big Gillespie
- 38:44Speaker 1: last call and the post game show after Alabama and

- 40:46Speaker 1: Okay, if you can, Tyler, get cut number nine ready
- 40:49Speaker 1: for me of Lane Kiffin. Forrester has the new, most
- 40:53Speaker 1: likely first thing thrown at Lane Kiffin. They're actually handing
- 40:59Speaker 1: them out to the crowd.
- 41:00Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 41:01Speaker 1: They'll hand out 64,000 light up the vault wristbands. Taylor
- 41:06Speaker 1: Swift used to do this. One of the first to
- 41:08Speaker 1: do this at her concert. Beyonce does it. Everybody does
- 41:11Speaker 1: it now. Everybody gets a wristband. It'll be synced to
- 41:14Speaker 1: music and things like that in the vault tomorrow night.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Forrester says that is amazing. likely the first thing to
- 41:20Speaker 1: be thrown at Lane Kiffin as he walks onto the field.
- 41:24Speaker 5: Light up the boss wristband. Does it have enough weight, though,
- 41:27Speaker 5: to be able to get there? I mean, that light
- 41:29Speaker 5: part's got to be fairly heavy. Those other bands are
- 41:32Speaker 5: kind of cloth.
- 41:34Speaker 1: It does look like the cloth that's got that pull thing.
- 41:36Speaker 5: That's what they're going to do. I guess.
- 41:39Speaker 1: I mean, I guess you could cut it or whatever.
- 41:41Speaker 1: There's going to be no accuracy with it. No, there's not.
- 41:43Speaker 5: But I mean, when they put those things like... I'm
- 41:44Speaker 5: just saying, if you're trying to get him out of
- 41:46Speaker 5: the dome with something, you're not doing that. Well, I mean.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Well, this is going to be for the people close by. Obviously,
- 41:51Speaker 2: a water bottle or something would be more... Don't throw anything.
- 41:54Speaker 1: We're not endorsing that, but it is interesting to see
- 41:57Speaker 1: the trash that comes out of the stands. You couldn't
- 41:59Speaker 1: do bat night with laying tip and it comes to test.
- 42:02Speaker 5: It'd be a bad night for that. It'd be really tough.
- 42:05Speaker 5: It'd be helmet night.
- 42:06Speaker 2: I mean, they'll be throwing those on the pitch. This
- 42:08Speaker 2: is just one more thing, though. We talk about it
- 42:10Speaker 2: all the time. You've got these big games and you
- 42:13Speaker 2: make it such a big deal. It just overwhelms the
- 42:16Speaker 2: whole team. Burner phone?
- 42:17Speaker 1: You get a burner phone for $ 25?
- 42:19Speaker 5: Just chuck burner phone good.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Okay, now this is true. It really happened. 1960s. Bear Bryant,
- 42:26Speaker 1: I think, was he coming out or going into the
- 42:28Speaker 1: locker room? He actually put on a helmet.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I think it was in the pregame walk.
- 42:33Speaker 6: No, he did.
- 42:34Speaker 5: There's photos.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Against Georgia Tech. I thought it was at LSU.
- 42:37Speaker 5: Was it Georgia Tech?
- 42:37Speaker 1: No, it's Georgia Tech. I think it was Alabama-Georgia Tech.
- 42:40Speaker 1: The rivalry was so heated. that he actually wore a
- 42:44Speaker 1: helmet either off the field or onto the field. And
- 42:47Speaker 1: so my question is, just to lean into all of this,
- 42:52Speaker 1: do you think Lane Kiffin comes out of the tunnel
- 42:55Speaker 1: with a helmet on? Oh, come on.
- 42:57Speaker 2: You know how ridiculous that would be? Who are we
- 42:59Speaker 2: talking about? Tyler, Google Bear Bryant wearing a helmet.
- 43:03Speaker 5: Okay, but Bear wasn't doing it for show back then
- 43:05Speaker 5: because there was no cameras around.
- 43:06Speaker 2: No, no, there are photos of this. Yeah, see if
- 43:08Speaker 2: you can find it on Google there. I think Bear
- 43:10Speaker 2: was a bit of an entertainer then. I mean, he
- 43:12Speaker 2: was a much better.
- 43:13Speaker 5: Coach than Lane Kiffin. But can you imagine a standing
- 43:15Speaker 5: coach right now?
- 43:16Speaker 1: Did you just say Bear Brown was a much better
- 43:17Speaker 1: coach than Lane Kiffin?
- 43:17Speaker 5: I did. Is that not a true statement?
- 43:19Speaker 2: Yeah. It's an obvious statement, but sometimes you have to
- 43:21Speaker 2: make obvious statements. It's like the rooster crowing in the
- 43:23Speaker 2: sun every morning.
- 43:24Speaker 5: Yeah, sitting standing coach actually rolling out with a helmet
- 43:27Speaker 5: in today's world of just the access you've got. What
- 43:31Speaker 5: would be awesome?
- 43:32Speaker 2: What would be awesome is if Kiffin, like Ole Miss
- 43:35Speaker 2: comes out of this tunnel, that somehow Kiffin gets over
- 43:37Speaker 2: to another tunnel like WWE or whatever. And you're expecting, oh,
- 43:41Speaker 2: they're all waiting for him to come out of that tunnel.
- 43:42Speaker 2: He just comes out of a different tunnel. He comes
- 43:44Speaker 2: walking out of a different tunnel, and he's out on
- 43:45Speaker 2: the field.
- 43:46Speaker 1: So what would happen if a battery got him in
- 43:48Speaker 1: the temple?
- 43:48Speaker 5: He goes down. There it is. There's Bear Bryant in
- 43:51Speaker 5: his helmet. In his helmet. Right there in the middle. Yeah,
- 43:53Speaker 5: that might be for a little show. No, I think
- 43:55Speaker 5: there was some show involved. Absolutely.
- 43:56Speaker 1: I think he was a bit– he had a sense
- 43:58Speaker 1: of humor, right? I mean, he was a funny guy.
- 43:59Speaker 5: Oh, he did, yeah.
- 44:00Speaker 1: But that really happened. That was circa 1960-something, right?
- 44:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:05Speaker 5: Pictures of the Hindenburger got a lot more– clarity than this.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Here was this damn thing. That's the first picture he thought.
- 44:13Speaker 2: It's in the 60s, man.
- 44:15Speaker 1: It's been, what, 60 years now.
- 44:18Speaker 5: Oh, but seriously, if you had to look at the
- 44:19Speaker 5: wall and do the math with the galettes, 50 years celebrating.
- 44:23Speaker 1: If something got Kiffin in the tip when he goes out,
- 44:26Speaker 1: do they still play the game? Charlie Weiss Jr. is
- 44:27Speaker 1: there in our coverage. He thinks they'll play all day.
- 44:30Speaker 1: And they may be better off at that point with
- 44:32Speaker 1: Charlie Weiss Jr. Here is Lane Kiffin, cut number nine,
- 44:36Speaker 1: about embracing the chaos this weekend.
- 44:42Speaker 7: You seem to always have thrived in chaos. Can you
- 44:45Speaker 7: sense yet if your team has that same personality where
- 44:49Speaker 7: us against the world can kind of be alchemy instead
- 44:52Speaker 7: of rat poison, or however you want.
- 44:54Speaker 5: To say it? Yeah, I think that, you know, just
- 44:59Speaker 5: say I do well with it.
- 45:00Speaker 3: I think that teams over time, just like going into
- 45:02Speaker 3: Tennessee and playing, you know, like.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Have done well. And I think our team did well
- 45:08Speaker 3: in the first week with all the stuff out there,
- 45:09Speaker 3: even though it was a home game, but just dealing
- 45:12Speaker 3: with all that, because I also think those kids choose us,
- 45:15Speaker 3: you know, they know what they're choosing.
- 45:17Speaker 5: And so.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Kids that really maybe don't think that way or, or
- 45:22Speaker 3: that concerns them, you know, they don't come to us,
- 45:25Speaker 3: you know, they go to a different type of program.
- 45:28Speaker 3: So I think they, they know what they're getting into. Um,
- 45:32Speaker 3: we are who we are and, As much as we
- 45:34Speaker 3: choose them, they choose us also.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Well, that's eye-opening to me that they sort of know
- 45:41Speaker 1: what they're getting into. They know that we are the
- 45:43Speaker 1: merchants of chaos, and if they don't like that kind
- 45:45Speaker 1: of stuff, they choose other programs.
- 45:47Speaker 5: And I think that's.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Probably been an appealing fault to some kids on the
- 45:51Speaker 2: recruitment trail. I mean, I think there are kids that
- 45:53Speaker 2: chose to play for Lane Kiffin because he is who
- 45:55Speaker 2: he is.
- 45:56Speaker 5: It's not a surprise. Yeah, probably. I didn't know Stephen Wright,
- 45:59Speaker 5: the comedian, was still alive. I don't know if you
- 46:00Speaker 5: understand my question. Alchemy? Is that better? Alchemy?
- 46:04Speaker 2: But, I mean, there have got to be some guys
- 46:06Speaker 2: that are attracted to that in recruiting, which is crazy
- 46:09Speaker 2: to think about.
- 46:10Speaker 5: Oh, and it's going to be fun if they continue
- 46:12Speaker 5: to win. When it doesn't become fun is when you
- 46:15Speaker 5: lose a couple of these games.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but I thought that was an interesting statement that
- 46:19Speaker 1: they know what they're getting into. They know who we are.
- 46:21Speaker 1: They choose to come here for this.
- 46:23Speaker 5: That's right.
- 46:24Speaker 1: If they don't, they're going somewhere else. I guess that's Georgia.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:27Speaker 1: The opposite of what LSU is?
- 46:29Speaker 5: You know, this is almost, I hate to give Lane
- 46:31Speaker 5: this kind of credit, but it's almost Miami back in
- 46:33Speaker 5: the day. I mean, those guys went to Miami. It
- 46:35Speaker 5: was a fun offense.
- 46:36Speaker 1: That's what he's trying to do. I really believe that.
- 46:38Speaker 5: It's a great comparison. I mean, and Miami was the
- 46:41Speaker 5: hated team. But the difference was they were winning championships.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you did get guys. It was a
- 46:45Speaker 2: different thing. But you got guys to come to Miami
- 46:48Speaker 2: because you got to be yourself.
- 46:49Speaker 1: That's right.
- 46:50Speaker 5: Like Jimmy Johnson.
- 46:51Speaker 1: And it was a show. Yeah, Dennis Erickson.
- 46:53Speaker 2: They would allow you to put some mustard on the
- 46:55Speaker 2: hot dog.
- 46:55Speaker 5: They didn't care.
- 46:56Speaker 1: And at some point, they were the villains.
- 46:57Speaker 5: That's right.
- 46:58Speaker 1: I want to be the villain.
- 46:59Speaker 5: And they embraced it. Yeah, they embraced it.
- 47:01Speaker 2: They knew coming to every football stadium, you wanted to
- 47:03Speaker 2: beat the crap out of me and keep me from
- 47:05Speaker 2: dancing and doing all my stuff.
- 47:07Speaker 5: See, and I like those Miami teams. I did at
- 47:10Speaker 5: the time. I didn't either.
- 47:11Speaker 2: But when I watched the U. And I watched the
- 47:14Speaker 2: way they approached that game that was the super controversial
- 47:17Speaker 2: game with all the personal fouls. There was part of
- 47:19Speaker 2: me like, same thing with the Pistons. When I watched
- 47:21Speaker 2: the 30 for 30 on the bad boys, I wish
- 47:25Speaker 2: I liked that team more in real time.
- 47:26Speaker 5: Yeah, but here's the thing. They were able to talk
- 47:29Speaker 5: all of that shit and get an end result. Is
- 47:32Speaker 5: LSU going to be able to complete that? Well, that's
- 47:34Speaker 5: the thing Lane hasn't been able to do. He hasn't
- 47:36Speaker 5: been able to beat himself and win a championship. Yeah,
- 47:39Speaker 5: and I wouldn't equate Lane's always been Lane, but I
- 47:41Speaker 5: never thought that Ole Miss, those teams, had that personality.
- 47:45Speaker 1: It's our last four minutes to talk about this game
- 47:47Speaker 1: before it actually takes place here on this platform. My
- 47:51Speaker 1: fear for Pete Golden. If Pete Golding wins this game,
- 47:54Speaker 1: I believe he becomes one of the more likable coaches
- 47:57Speaker 1: in all of college football because not only did he
- 47:59Speaker 1: beat Lane Kiffin, he won a big game, they'll be
- 48:01Speaker 1: ranked high, but the way he approaches life, I think
- 48:03Speaker 1: he is a coach for the everyman who will be
- 48:06Speaker 1: watching from his couch. And he'll handle it the right way.
- 48:09Speaker 5: I'll let you get to your point.
- 48:10Speaker 1: That's right.
- 48:10Speaker 5: He'll give the team credit. It'll be all about, this
- 48:13Speaker 5: has nothing to do with me. This is never about
- 48:14Speaker 5: me and Lane. Lane will eat it up. It'll be
- 48:17Speaker 5: all about Lane. My fear, if.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Pete loses this game, is that Lane built Ole Miss
- 48:25Speaker 1: into what it is. And this could be the first
- 48:28Speaker 1: of a slippery slope that Ole Miss can't be Ole
- 48:31Speaker 1: Miss what Lane has built under anybody else. It's such
- 48:35Speaker 1: a bigger, I said this before, other people disagree. I
- 48:38Speaker 1: forget where you guys landed. To me, it's a much
- 48:41Speaker 1: bigger game for Pete Golding than it is for Lane Kiffin.
- 48:43Speaker 1: I disagree 100% with that. I really do. I sort
- 48:47Speaker 1: of remembered where you landed on that.
- 48:49Speaker 5: I think Lane has set this up like, I can't
- 48:52Speaker 5: win a championship at Ole Miss. I'm leaving you guys
- 48:55Speaker 5: for the bigger, better program. And if you roll in
- 48:57Speaker 5: as the favorite the way they looked against Clemson and
- 48:59Speaker 5: they were to lose this game, I think it's a
- 49:01Speaker 5: bigger deal. I think there's more pressure. But to your point, Like,
- 49:05Speaker 5: the worst, the disaster would be if Ole Miss loses
- 49:08Speaker 5: this game by double digits. Then Ole Miss fans are
- 49:11Speaker 5: just like, oh, my God. You know, we paid a
- 49:13Speaker 5: fortune to be here. This is what we're left with.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Is Pete Golding Larry Coker?
- 49:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Well, no, Larry Coker actually has success right away. If
- 49:21Speaker 2: he loses this game, he'll be even worse than Larry Coker. Again,
- 49:27Speaker 2: I will say this. It's not the sexy thing to
- 49:29Speaker 2: talk about this week. These guys earned their money next week.
- 49:31Speaker 2: Regardless of the outcome of this game, Lane Kiffin will
- 49:35Speaker 2: show how good a coach he is, and Pete Golding
- 49:36Speaker 2: will show how good a coach he is next week
- 49:38Speaker 2: when Ole Miss is at Florida and LSU is hosting
- 49:41Speaker 2: Texas A & M. Regardless of the outcome of this game,
- 49:45Speaker 2: those games are tough on their own, but with the
- 49:47Speaker 2: emotions you'll be dealing with either win or lose in
- 49:50Speaker 2: this game, those games are so incredible.
- 49:53Speaker 5: And look, we don't know what A & M is
- 49:54Speaker 5: going to do against Kentucky. We don't know what Florida
- 49:56Speaker 5: is going to do. But I would almost say go
- 49:58Speaker 5: on and grab whatever the points look like on the
- 50:00Speaker 5: other side of both LSU and Ole Miss next week.
- 50:03Speaker 5: In the first case, you could split. Yeah, absolutely.
- 50:08Speaker 1: First off, uh, Tyler Forster, can you tell me, I forget,
- 50:11Speaker 1: is it 5930, the out time of the show?
- 50:14Speaker 5: I need to get.
- 50:15Speaker 1: That done right. That is correct. Tell us again, as
- 50:18Speaker 1: we're celebrating 50 years here at this beautiful location, the
- 50:22Speaker 1: doors are about to open here for a football weekend
- 50:25Speaker 1: unlike any other. And this is the closest part of
- 50:27Speaker 1: the stadium, correct?
- 50:28Speaker 2: Yes.
- 50:29Speaker 5: Yes.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Let's go. Let's. Yeah.
- 50:34Speaker 5: My bad. My bad. In the middle of scheduling something
- 50:37Speaker 5: right now.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:38Speaker 5: This is definitely the closest. I mean, it's, I mean,
- 50:40Speaker 5: by golf terms, you guys play every day. It's not
- 50:43Speaker 5: even a wedge to the stadium. Oh, I don't know
- 50:46Speaker 5: if it is. It's a.
- 50:48Speaker 1: It's a skull wedge.
- 50:50Speaker 5: It's a par five.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Golfers don't like the movie 10.
- 50:53Speaker 5: Cup written by Ron Shelfman. But you remember how he
- 50:56Speaker 5: won the money. You hit it on pavement, right? I
- 50:58Speaker 5: guarantee I can get a wedge to the stadium for me.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Anyway, great place. Free and post.
- 51:04Speaker 5: Uh, let's 50 years. Not only the yellow hammers, great
- 51:07Speaker 5: mud light specials all weekend long.
- 51:08Speaker 1: So yeah, come by and see Jeff, Derek, all the
- 51:10Speaker 1: fine folks.
- 51:11Speaker 2: As a friend of mine says, there's a two iron
- 51:13Speaker 2: in every wedge. So if you, if you fail the
- 51:16Speaker 2: two iron in the wedge, that's right.
- 51:17Speaker 5: You can get it there.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Oh, but it's a great location here on the strip
- 51:20Speaker 2: and you can come out here and enjoy the wonderful, uh,
- 51:23Speaker 2: yellow hammer, which we're about to partake as we get
- 51:25Speaker 2: ready to do, uh, the next two hours over on
- 51:28Speaker 2: our next round live platform.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Don't forget tonight. You got a couple of games. Miami
- 51:33Speaker 1: number five on the road at Wake Forest. Haven't really
- 51:35Speaker 1: been challenged yet. It'll be good to see that team
- 51:37Speaker 1: get on the field. And then the big one, 7
- 51:40Speaker 1: o'clock Central, Maine Fox. Houston and Texas Tech with Tech
- 51:44Speaker 1: getting a little healthier, but how good will their offense be?
- 51:47Speaker 1: We'll continue to talk about all the games over on
- 51:49Speaker 1: the Next Round Live platform at Next Round Live. You
- 51:52Speaker 1: guys have a great weekend. That's it for us on
- 51:54Speaker 1: the sports state side of it. Brought to you by
- 51:56Speaker 1: our friends at Hard Rock Bets.
