- 0:00Speaker 1: Now this is the Mark Simon Show on seventoor.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Okay, well it's Thursday. Lots to get to today. We'll
- 0:11Speaker 2: get to the mayoral race, a lot going on there.
- 0:14Speaker 2: We'll get to President Trump and the shutdown. We'll get
- 0:16Speaker 2: to the Yankees. In the news. You got a horrific
- 0:22Speaker 2: anti Semitic terrorist attack in Manchester, England on a synagogue.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Got a crash last night, a fender bender on a
- 0:32Speaker 2: runway at La Guardia Airport. Two planes that one of
- 0:35Speaker 2: the tail hits the nose of the other. Lots of damage.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Not good, not good at all. It's Yom Kapoor today,
- 0:43Speaker 2: although a little less traffic today. Restaurants packed last night.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I don't understand that they're supposed to be empty last night,
- 0:51Speaker 2: but I was a lot of restaurants in the world
- 0:54Speaker 2: jammed last night. So the shutdown nothing will happen today.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I don't know if it's part well, in part the holiday,
- 1:04Speaker 2: but also just nothing. Is today. The next vote on
- 1:07Speaker 2: the shutdown on fixing this is tomorrow, Friday, eleven am.
- 1:12Speaker 2: It's not going well for the Democrats. There's a lot
- 1:15Speaker 2: of pressure on Schumer to just turn around and get
- 1:20Speaker 2: out of this ridiculous position he's put himself in. The
- 1:23Speaker 2: problem is, well, you got two problems. One, we've had
- 1:27Speaker 2: a lot of shutdowns, they happen all the time, but
- 1:30Speaker 2: this is the first time we've had when we got
- 1:32Speaker 2: two real ridiculous figures running the Democratic side. You got
- 1:37Speaker 2: Schumer and Hakeem Jefferies. Now, the problem is they're both
- 1:41Speaker 2: from New York, they're both from Brooklyn. They both come
- 1:44Speaker 2: from a liberal, far left echo chamber, and that's all
- 1:47Speaker 2: they know. These two have no contact with actual America, normal, regular,
- 1:54Speaker 2: normal Americans. They just know left wing Brooklyn, that's all
- 1:58Speaker 2: they know. Left wing Manhattan, that's all they know. So
- 2:00Speaker 2: that they exist in that bubble, and they look at
- 2:03Speaker 2: it with that perspective, which is not helping them. Schumer's
- 2:07Speaker 2: problem is he's old, tired, desperate, frightened. He's at the
- 2:10Speaker 2: end of the line. His political career is over. He
- 2:13Speaker 2: realizes it. He's going to get wiped out if he
- 2:16Speaker 2: ever tries to run again. So he's catering to the
- 2:19Speaker 2: left right now, or he thinks he is, in an awkward,
- 2:22Speaker 2: klutzy sort of way the way he does everything. And
- 2:25Speaker 2: the other problem is you got Hakeem Jeffries who's a
- 2:27Speaker 2: total humorless stiff, just a ridiculous guy who's not an
- 2:33Speaker 2: effective leader, just speaks in these stiff proclamations. He doesn't
- 2:38Speaker 2: look good on camera, he doesn't seem real. He just
- 2:41Speaker 2: looks like a mannequin. Trump has gone after him and
- 2:44Speaker 2: Schumer with the sombrero memes, which are hysterical. If you
- 2:49Speaker 2: haven't been watching, he's check my Twitter. Most of them
- 2:51Speaker 2: are up on my Twitter. It's Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries with
- 2:56Speaker 2: the sombrero and the mustache and the Mexican music. They're
- 3:00Speaker 2: miracle and very funny. Everybody's laughing at them. And Hakeem
- 3:05Speaker 2: Jeffries made a huge mistake the first day or two.
- 3:07Speaker 2: He just got pompous and so serious. And it's a
- 3:12Speaker 2: disgusting video.
- 3:14Speaker 3: And we're going to continue to make Claire biggotree will
- 3:16Speaker 3: get you nowhere.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It's a meme, it's funny, they're hysterically. Nobody can watch
- 3:20Speaker 2: them and not laugh. And then the fake news tried
- 3:23Speaker 2: to play it up, you know, with Civan, I'm not
- 3:25Speaker 2: s JD Vans JD Vans and so what about you,
- 3:32Speaker 2: you're biggot memes.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Well, I think it's funny. The president's joking and we're
- 3:37Speaker 4: having a good time. You can negotiate in good faith
- 3:39Speaker 4: while also poking a little bit of fun at some
- 3:42Speaker 4: of the absurdities of the Democrats positions, and even you know,
- 3:44Speaker 4: poking some fun at the absurdity of the Democrats themselves.
- 3:47Speaker 4: I mean, I'll tell Hakeem Jeffries right now, I make
- 3:50Speaker 4: this solemn promise to you that if you help us
- 3:52Speaker 4: reopen the government, the sombrero memes will stop.
- 3:55Speaker 2: But they're very funny. Take a look at it. They're
- 3:57Speaker 2: up on my Twitter. You can see them. Somebody must
- 4:01Speaker 2: have gotten a Hikim Jeffries or a bunch of somebodies
- 4:05Speaker 2: and said, will you lighten up? Will you stop with
- 4:07Speaker 2: this pompous act you're doing? You look ridiculous. So now
- 4:10Speaker 2: he's trying to fight back with his own memes against Trump.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Maybe it was Gavin Newsom. Newsom has become very good
- 4:16Speaker 2: at that. He's become the king of fighting Trump fire
- 4:19Speaker 2: with Trump fire. Whatever tactics Trump uses, he'll use him
- 4:23Speaker 2: right back. Now. I guess you know, you could say,
- 4:26Speaker 2: you know you're not supposed to be if you're the
- 4:28Speaker 2: president of the United States, you're not supposed to be
- 4:30Speaker 2: like a kid putting funny memes up on TikTok. Well, yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 2: maybe that's the nineteen ninety nine rule or even the
- 4:38Speaker 2: two thousand and six rule, but it's twenty twenty five.
- 4:41Speaker 2: The game is being reinvented. And Trump, for all his
- 4:45Speaker 2: great stuff he can do as president, he is and
- 4:48Speaker 2: you can argue whether it's right or wrong, but he
- 4:51Speaker 2: is like a big kid. He's like a kid having fun.
- 4:55Speaker 2: He's still a private sector guy. He's not a you know, reformal,
- 5:00Speaker 2: you know, government politician, Washington formal, none of that false
- 5:05Speaker 2: Formality's just himself. And this is what business guys do.
- 5:08Speaker 2: You know, This is what Wall Street guys are famous for.
- 5:10Speaker 2: It passing jokes around, memes around, laughing. You know. So
- 5:15Speaker 2: Trump has brought that sensibility to the White House, and
- 5:20Speaker 2: that's that might be the problem. He you know, Trump
- 5:22Speaker 2: is a cutting edge guy, leading the way ahead of
- 5:25Speaker 2: the curve. The problem with Schumer is he still looks
- 5:27Speaker 2: like it's nineteen ninety three. Even when he makes those
- 5:31Speaker 2: videos it's him on the Capitol steps with the Capitol behind.
- 5:33Speaker 2: It looks so old and how dated and stiff. The
- 5:38Speaker 2: whole fight now is Republicans have reduced it to Democrats
- 5:42Speaker 2: want health care for illegals, And they'll argue and argue
- 5:46Speaker 2: and argue, it's not true.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Donald Trump and Republicans have shut the government down because
- 5:51Speaker 3: they don't want to provide healthcare to working class Americans.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Now, of course that's not true. So you got lives,
- 5:58Speaker 2: you know, going all over the place, those two lies,
- 6:02Speaker 2: they'll tell. Trump wants to get it to working Americans,
- 6:05Speaker 2: and the way one way you do that is get
- 6:07Speaker 2: the illegals off off the rolls there because they're draining money.
- 6:13Speaker 2: And then the other big Democrat lie they always do
- 6:16Speaker 2: is he wants to throw them off and use the
- 6:18Speaker 2: money to hand the money to his billionaire. If nobody's
- 6:21Speaker 2: handing any money to any billionaires, the last thing the
- 6:23Speaker 2: billionaires need is government handing them any money. But does
- 6:28Speaker 2: it provide health care for illegals? Yes, absolutely, absolutely, Even
- 6:33Speaker 2: Jake Tapper, you can't get more fake news, biased left
- 6:36Speaker 2: wing than Jake Tapper. Even he last night had to
- 6:40Speaker 2: admit on the air that he's carefully read it all.
- 6:43Speaker 2: It does give health care to illegals. Now it doesn't.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Trump is exaggerating when he says it hands them a
- 6:49Speaker 2: Cadillac plan that there doesn't do that. It doesn't do
- 6:52Speaker 2: that at all. But if they do get health care,
- 6:55Speaker 2: if they do go to the hospital, they will the
- 6:57Speaker 2: hospitals everybody does get reimbursed, and that would be paying
- 7:02Speaker 2: for illegals health care. So the fight will I don't know.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Friday eleven am is the next vote. It might be
- 7:09Speaker 2: over then there. I don't know who's going to be
- 7:11Speaker 2: bugging Schumer all day and night to get off this position.
- 7:15Speaker 2: He's in a weird, weird position. Everybody thinks he's totally frightened,
- 7:20Speaker 2: scared that AOC is going to wipe him out in
- 7:22Speaker 2: the next election, and he's terrified of AOC, and that's
- 7:25Speaker 2: why he's catering to them. And here's what she had
- 7:27Speaker 2: to say. There is one reason and one reason. Well
- 7:31Speaker 2: here's Mike Johnson.
- 7:32Speaker 5: There is one reason and one reason alone that Chuck
- 7:35Speaker 5: Schumer is leading the Democrats off this cliff. He is
- 7:37Speaker 5: trying to get political cover from the far left corner
- 7:41Speaker 5: of his base. He's afraid of a challenge for his
- 7:43Speaker 5: Senate seat by AOC.
- 7:45Speaker 4: He's worried he's going to get a primary challenge from AOC.
- 7:47Speaker 5: He is afraid of AOC over a clean sard.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer is afraid of his own shadow.
- 7:55Speaker 6: And I actually think that shadow's name is AOC.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah, now, one at AOC. What did she say about it?
- 8:01Speaker 7: This is so not about me in this moment. If
- 8:07Speaker 7: those senators think that we're having a shutdown because of me,
- 8:10Speaker 7: they're free to enter my office and negotiate, because what
- 8:13Speaker 7: we're not going to do is allow all of millions
- 8:16Speaker 7: of people in this country to not be able to
- 8:18Speaker 7: afford their insulin, their chemotherapy. So come strike a deal
- 8:21Speaker 7: with me, if that's what they really think.
- 8:22Speaker 8: Is going on.
- 8:24Speaker 2: The real answer, yes, he's afraid of AOC. The problem
- 8:27Speaker 2: is he's at the end of his ropes, end of
- 8:29Speaker 2: the line. He can't get re elected. He's finished. He's
- 8:33Speaker 2: another Jerry Nadler. He's done. The Democrats hate him, they
- 8:36Speaker 2: don't want him. He's out. If AOC decides to run
- 8:40Speaker 2: for Senate, be easy as can be. She'll be able
- 8:42Speaker 2: to fund. The one secret of Schumer is his fundraising.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Nobody is bigger with taking care of billionaires and donors
- 8:49Speaker 2: than Schumer. That's all he does. Donors service, and that
- 8:53Speaker 2: means billionaires special interests unions. He takes care of them,
- 8:57Speaker 2: as they'll all the billionaires will tell you, even the
- 8:59Speaker 2: Republicans one that Backschumer. They'll say, I could wake this
- 9:01Speaker 2: guy up at two in the morning. He'll do anything
- 9:03Speaker 2: I want. They all have his cell number to get anything.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Now they have to give massive donations in exchange. So
- 9:09Speaker 2: he's always been the king of fundraising. That's why he
- 9:11Speaker 2: was never scared of an opponent. But AOC could be
- 9:16Speaker 2: a fundraising machine. She could raise a ton of money
- 9:19Speaker 2: very very fast. So he's terrified to her. If now
- 9:24Speaker 2: it's a way off, it's a year and a month
- 9:27Speaker 2: from now. By early next year, Schumer may realize there's
- 9:30Speaker 2: nothing he can do. It's over. He would announce, then
- 9:34Speaker 2: he's not gonna seek reelection, and then he'd be free
- 9:37Speaker 2: to go back to the old Chuck Schumer from forty
- 9:40Speaker 2: years ago. Just act on principle, but don't count on it.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Don't count on it. Hey, the mayoral race, here's the problem.
- 9:49Speaker 2: The election is thirty three days away. Only thirty three
- 9:52Speaker 2: days till the election. Here's a bigger problem. It's only
- 9:56Speaker 2: twenty three days till early voting begins. Three days the
- 10:01Speaker 2: debate is two weeks from tonight, two weeks till the debate.
- 10:06Speaker 2: That could change things. Mom Donnie's very good in debates.
- 10:11Speaker 2: He ducks questions. It's not like he gives you solid answers,
- 10:15Speaker 2: but his manner. You know, he talks very quickly anytimes,
- 10:17Speaker 2: like he really knows what he's talking about. And if
- 10:18Speaker 2: you talk a little quicker, you can sound very smart.
- 10:21Speaker 2: And he's got a wonderful tone that makes him sound
- 10:23Speaker 2: like he's trying to help you. And Curtis is an
- 10:27Speaker 2: excellent debater. He's the only professional debater in the race.
- 10:31Speaker 2: He's been doing it for thirty five years. Cuomo talks
- 10:35Speaker 2: so slow. He's a bad debater, and he's a horrible debater.
- 10:41Speaker 2: That's why we have Mon Donni. If it hadn't been
- 10:44Speaker 2: for Cuomo, you would not have Mom Donnie. Cuomo gave
- 10:47Speaker 2: you Mom Donnie democratic debate, both of them, two of them.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Cuomo was so weak and old and tired and talks
- 10:56Speaker 2: so slow, and Mom Donnie was able to easily wipe
- 10:59Speaker 2: him out, and that's how he got the nomination. So
- 11:02Speaker 2: this could be in two weeks a bad, bad night
- 11:05Speaker 2: for Cuomo. Mam Donnie's great in debates. Curtis's great in debates.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Cuomo will talk so slow that he'll look so Cuomo
- 11:13Speaker 2: could wipe himself out in two weeks. Now you're gonna say, well,
- 11:17Speaker 2: he's going to prepare and prepare and train, and they'll
- 11:20Speaker 2: give him right, all kinds of lines for him to you. Well,
- 11:22Speaker 2: when he got wiped out in the first debate, they
- 11:24Speaker 2: did that for him in the second debate. And no
- 11:27Speaker 2: matter what he hit when Mom Donnie with Mom Donnie
- 11:30Speaker 2: just pounded him into the ground. So uh, now, hey,
- 11:33Speaker 2: the commercials are running. Mom Donnie's got very sharp looking commercials,
- 11:38Speaker 2: very sharp, very well done. Mom Donnie is heavily financed.
- 11:42Speaker 2: You know, he keeps talking about these billionaires. Meantime he's
- 11:47Speaker 2: got billionaires all over the place back in him, big
- 11:49Speaker 2: money commercials. Cuomo has a new commercial which looks a
- 11:53Speaker 2: little silly. It looks like a very expensive commercial. It's
- 11:59Speaker 2: about the commercial says, I don't know how to do
- 12:02Speaker 2: a lot. There's a lot of jobs I might be good,
- 12:05Speaker 2: And then it shows him working at a car wash.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Then it shows him hanging off a skyscraper as a
- 12:10Speaker 2: window washer, and then it shows him driving the subway
- 12:14Speaker 2: train all these different looks very expensive, all these things. Well,
- 12:18Speaker 2: it turns out it was Ai and it's very well
- 12:21Speaker 2: done with Ai. Looks very real, but it shows him
- 12:25Speaker 2: in all these different sort of jobs. And then it
- 12:28Speaker 2: comes to but there's only one thing I know how
- 12:30Speaker 2: to do, and that's run government. But it's kind of
- 12:35Speaker 2: a silly commercial. I don't know. Now there's one that
- 12:38Speaker 2: Curtis has a lot of good commercials. They're not attacking
- 12:42Speaker 2: Mamdanni so much. They're more pro Curtis and the latest
- 12:46Speaker 2: one half the commercially he's got the Bereton. Half the commercial.
- 12:49Speaker 2: He doesn't have the Bereton. But they're very good commercials.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Mam Donnie and Curtis definitely the best commercials. Cuomo's look
- 12:56Speaker 2: a little silly, hey, by the way, You know how
- 12:59Speaker 2: they always say Omo never apologize. You know, he killed
- 13:02Speaker 2: ten thousand seniors, He killed people's grandparents and nursing homes,
- 13:07Speaker 2: and a lot of the critics say that's his main problem.
- 13:09Speaker 2: He's never been able to apologize. He can't admit to it,
- 13:13Speaker 2: he can't apologize, and that's been the case. But he
- 13:19Speaker 2: made a video apologizing to the Jewish community, the Orthodox
- 13:23Speaker 2: Jewish community. He made this video and distributed it just
- 13:27Speaker 2: within the private Orthodox community. You could find it online
- 13:31Speaker 2: if you're looking for it. But he apologizes to them.
- 13:35Speaker 2: He said, I sincerely apologize. He apologizes for the lockdown
- 13:39Speaker 2: and what he did and how he locked everything down,
- 13:41Speaker 2: and he said, I didn't realize how he was interfering
- 13:44Speaker 2: with some religious practices of yours and some important cultural
- 13:48Speaker 2: traditions of yours. And I sincerely apology was very, very
- 13:53Speaker 2: sincere apology, but just for this one group. And the
- 13:57Speaker 2: problem is is that starts to leak out the seniors
- 14:01Speaker 2: that were killed, all the people that had people killed, robbed, raped,
- 14:06Speaker 2: or became crime victims as a result of Cuomo's no bail,
- 14:09Speaker 2: no jail. They're all gonna say, where's our apology, where's
- 14:13Speaker 2: our apology video? How come we didn't get it? Hey,
- 14:15Speaker 2: speaking of which, great speech by Ray Kelly yesterday for
- 14:19Speaker 2: our Police Athletic League lunch and Ray Kelly the greatest
- 14:21Speaker 2: police commissioner ever. But you know, Mamdani, everything he proposes
- 14:26Speaker 2: is a complete hoax. I'm gonna make free, the buses
- 14:30Speaker 2: will be free. He has no power to make the
- 14:32Speaker 2: buses free. It's the MTA or whatever he's proposing, he
- 14:37Speaker 2: has no power to do it. Now, one of the
- 14:39Speaker 2: big proposals, I'm gonna have social workers answer domestic violence calls. Now,
- 14:45Speaker 2: you know, any copp will tell you the most dangerous
- 14:47Speaker 2: thing you can respond to is these domestic violence calls.
- 14:50Speaker 2: That's where there's a gun and knife, a bat. It's
- 14:52Speaker 2: really dangerous. So he keeps talking about that we don't
- 14:55Speaker 2: need to send the cops and will send in social workers.
- 15:00Speaker 2: So Ray Kelly points out, now, nobody knows policing and
- 15:03Speaker 2: law enforcement better than Ray Kelly, and he's been doing
- 15:06Speaker 2: it for years and years and years. Points out, and
- 15:09Speaker 2: I didn't realize this. The police department, the NYPD has
- 15:12Speaker 2: tried that dozens of times over thirty years. They've tried
- 15:16Speaker 2: it a number of times. They've tried it over and
- 15:19Speaker 2: over and over again. A doesn't work and b ends
- 15:22Speaker 2: up in a total disaster for these healthcare workers. Also,
- 15:27Speaker 2: one of the reasons they have a problem with it,
- 15:29Speaker 2: the social workers won't do it. They don't want to
- 15:31Speaker 2: go into it. One of these the most dangerous police
- 15:34Speaker 2: call there is without police with them, they don't want
- 15:36Speaker 2: to do it. So he also pointed out Memphis just
- 15:39Speaker 2: tried it and it ended in total disaster. It never
- 15:42Speaker 2: ever ever works. But that's a Mamdani theme. Socialism, whatever
- 15:48Speaker 2: doesn't work everywhere it's tried. That's what I'm proposing. Hey,
- 15:51Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three to two
- 15:54Speaker 2: one zero seven. Ten is the number, eight hundred three
- 15:58Speaker 2: to two one zero seven.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Give WR a bre said on the iHeart Radio app
- 16:04Speaker 1: to hear Mark Simone and all the WR hosts in
- 16:08Speaker 1: an instance. Now back to the Mark Simo show on woor.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Victor in Pennsylvania. Victor,
- 16:18Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 16:20Speaker 9: I'm doing great. First thing is I just heard this
- 16:23Speaker 9: morning that Leticia the idiot James is suing Trump again.
- 16:28Speaker 9: When is she being brought up on.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Her yess getting closer. It's getting closer. She will be
- 16:35Speaker 2: charged with mortgage fraud in Virginia. You got a new
- 16:39Speaker 2: US attorney who's in there working on it. She will
- 16:42Speaker 2: be charged. And look for Adam Schiff to be on
- 16:45Speaker 2: the list. Look for John Bolton to be indicted. He's
- 16:49Speaker 2: in real trouble. Let's go to Joe in New York City. Joe,
- 16:52Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 16:54Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark, Mark some people do not want to
- 16:57Speaker 8: vote because they think their names we put on your
- 17:00Speaker 8: jury duty listen, they don't want to do jury.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Yeah. No, let's just point out that's a total myth.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Maybe that was true fifty years ago. They get the
- 17:08Speaker 2: list from drivers' licenses, from rent rolls, from taxpayer rolls.
- 17:12Speaker 2: It has nothing to do with them, nothing to do
- 17:14Speaker 2: with voting, nothing to do with no connection. They use
- 17:17Speaker 2: every list imaginable now, so that that's an old myth.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Let's go to Richard and Bayshore. Richard, how you doing.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I'm doing well, Mark, good morning.
- 17:26Speaker 10: You know right now, forty five percent or so of
- 17:29Speaker 10: MTA bus passengers are not paying their fares anyway, it's
- 17:33Speaker 10: through law enforcement, nullification of the law, let's say, by
- 17:37Speaker 10: the mayor if it's made public.
- 17:39Speaker 2: That true. Excellent point. You know this crazy MTA Jano,
- 17:43Speaker 2: liber and Hockel. They've decided to raise the fare on
- 17:46Speaker 2: the subways and buses, and there is an actual, formal,
- 17:50Speaker 2: actual study that's come out showing that half the people
- 17:54Speaker 2: are not paying the fare. They're just not paying and
- 17:57Speaker 2: nobody's enforcing it. And the what they claim they need
- 18:00Speaker 2: with the fare increase, could you could easily get much
- 18:03Speaker 2: more if you just started enforcing the fares so and
- 18:07Speaker 2: it's easy to do, you can stop turnstile jumping in
- 18:10Speaker 2: two weeks. Ray Kelly did it, Bratton did it, Giuliani did.
- 18:13Speaker 2: It's easy to do. You just start enforcing it where
- 18:16Speaker 2: it gets around real fast and nobody jumps the turnstile anymore. So,
- 18:19Speaker 2: no need for that increase that they're they're going to
- 18:21Speaker 2: push on us. Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 18:25Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 18:26Speaker 11: Good morning, Mark, Mark. I'm okay. Mark. You forgot to
- 18:29Speaker 11: mention the fact that also yesterday, with these fare increases,
- 18:33Speaker 11: they're raising the easy passed holes in everything.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, you're right now, all the bridges, tunnels,
- 18:38Speaker 2: everything exactly.
- 18:40Speaker 11: So Gee, I thought the congestion pricing was supposed to
- 18:44Speaker 11: take care of all of this. I guess it's not so.
- 18:47Speaker 11: Mark AOC was crowing about if Trump doesn't sign this
- 18:52Speaker 11: Hakeem Jeffreys healthcare bill, this budget bill, people are gonna
- 18:57Speaker 11: go without their cancer tree. People are gonna be dropping
- 19:01Speaker 11: that in the streets. Well, hello, I hope the Supreme
- 19:04Speaker 11: Court revisits the case about people showing up at the
- 19:09Speaker 11: er with no health insurance and making the state and
- 19:15Speaker 11: the city have to pick up the tab because when
- 19:18Speaker 11: and you'll remember this, when Bill Deblasia was running for math,
- 19:22Speaker 11: there was a hospital of my neighborhood and he actually
- 19:26Speaker 11: got arrested. He went in front of the hospital and said,
- 19:28Speaker 11: there's no way you're going to close this hospital, this,
- 19:31Speaker 11: that and the other. Right, Okay, Bill de Blasio got elected.
- 19:35Speaker 11: The hospital was losing twenty five million dollars a month
- 19:40Speaker 11: because when you would go into er and I knew
- 19:43Speaker 11: a god that was working in the ear, it looked
- 19:46Speaker 11: like the Bowery in there. It looked like bum's row. Right,
- 19:50Speaker 11: So it was losing twenty five million dollars a month,
- 19:53Speaker 11: and a lot of the hospitals in New York City,
- 19:57Speaker 11: downstate Beth Israel, a lot of the same things. Instance,
- 20:00Speaker 11: they closed exactly because all these bums shown up at the.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Now, that's what that's what that's what really is in
- 20:07Speaker 2: the fight that you want to Democrats say it's not
- 20:09Speaker 2: going to cover health careful. It absolutely does. Absolutely these
- 20:13Speaker 2: fact checkers, all these fake fact checkers, it absolutely does.
- 20:16Speaker 2: That's where it covers it. It reimburses the hospital for
- 20:19Speaker 2: all those costs.
- 20:19Speaker 11: And exactly, but there is a lot of costs. Like
- 20:25Speaker 11: for example, yesterday I had to go and see a
- 20:27Speaker 11: new orthopedic surgeon. I wasn't in the system, so I
- 20:30Speaker 11: had to So when they when I made the appointment,
- 20:34Speaker 11: the secretary told me you got to bring your insurance god,
- 20:38Speaker 11: and you got to bring positive ID. You got to
- 20:41Speaker 11: bring a driver's license or a passport unless you're not
- 20:45Speaker 11: going through the front door, because they want to know
- 20:48Speaker 11: that if you don't pay, if some something is not
- 20:51Speaker 11: paid out on, they want to know where to bill you.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Vincent, great call, thanks for calling. Always great.
- 20:58Speaker 12: Uh.
- 20:59Speaker 2: By the way, oh, we have to have a driver's license.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Well they've come out with a new driver's license now
- 21:05Speaker 2: with no name on it. It's a it'll actually say
- 21:08Speaker 2: where the name is. It'll say no name given. You
- 21:09Speaker 2: can have a blank driver's license with no name. This
- 21:12Speaker 2: is not a joke. Remind me. We'll get to it
- 21:14Speaker 2: in the next hour. But when we come back, Steve
- 21:17Speaker 2: Moore will be with us. The brilliant economist coming up
- 21:20Speaker 2: next on seven to ten wor.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Mark Simon.
- 21:31Speaker 2: We're looking for Steve Moore. What a shot, hun Now
- 21:34Speaker 2: he'll turn up. I'll bet you we find him. You know,
- 21:37Speaker 2: then I don't want to predict, but I bet you
- 21:40Speaker 2: we'll find him. So, hey, if you want a luxury home,
- 21:45Speaker 2: how much you have to spend a luxury home? What's
- 21:48Speaker 2: considered a luxury home? How much? A million dollars? No,
- 21:53Speaker 2: that won't do it anymore. It used to, but according
- 21:58Speaker 2: to realtor dot Com, millillion dollars will no longer buy
- 22:01Speaker 2: a luxury home in America anymore. A new analysis shows
- 22:06Speaker 2: one point three million, at least one point three million
- 22:10Speaker 2: starting point for a luxury home, and that they could
- 22:13Speaker 2: what they call luxury home is if it's in the
- 22:15Speaker 2: top ten percent of the home listings. But to get
- 22:18Speaker 2: in the top ten percent, you now need to spend
- 22:21Speaker 2: one point three million. Just ten years ago, it was
- 22:24Speaker 2: eight hundred thousand. Now if you want to get in
- 22:28Speaker 2: the top one percent, got to be five and a
- 22:32Speaker 2: half million. And obviously geography is a factor. It's different
- 22:37Speaker 2: in different areas, so prices, and you know, prices keep
- 22:41Speaker 2: going up here in New York. I know, the birthing small.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Everybody's gonna flee if Mom Donnie comes in, and it's
- 22:46Speaker 2: going to cause a real estate crash. Prices are going
- 22:49Speaker 2: up every day, for rentals, for sales everywhere. Well, we
- 22:53Speaker 2: got Steve Moore, the great economist. Get his book, The
- 22:56Speaker 2: Trump Economic Miracle. Check out. He runs the committee Unleashed Prosperity.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Go to the website sign up for the daily briefing,
- 23:04Speaker 2: best news and analysis. Just go to Unleashed Prosperity dot com.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Steve Moore, how you doing well?
- 23:11Speaker 13: Hey? Mark, good to be with you. And are terrible
- 23:13Speaker 13: because you know the I just can't sleep at night
- 23:15Speaker 13: because the Labor Department and Education Department are closed down.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I mean, how am I going to go forward? Yeah?
- 23:21Speaker 13: Hey, don't you know we've got thousands, hundreds and hundreds
- 23:24Speaker 13: and hundreds of thousands of these quote non essential you
- 23:27Speaker 13: know that's their term, non essential government employees, and we've
- 23:30Speaker 13: got we've got an enterprise year that's losing two trillion
- 23:33Speaker 13: dollars a year. Hmm. Maybe Russell Bob is right. Maybe
- 23:36Speaker 13: we just do away with all these non essential people
- 23:38Speaker 13: and we can move to a balanced budget.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, people forget we have a government shutdown
- 23:44Speaker 2: every week, five o'clock Friday night, they shut down for.
- 23:46Speaker 13: Two days exactly. Well, you know the funny thing is,
- 23:50Speaker 13: I guess it's funny, but you know, every I think,
- 23:53Speaker 13: as you know, Mark, every Friday morning, the first Friday
- 23:56Speaker 13: of every month, at eight three in the morning, I'm
- 24:00Speaker 13: with Maria about roma who does the jobs report? You
- 24:03Speaker 13: know when the big jobs number comes out. They're not
- 24:05Speaker 13: going to do it tomorrow. Did you know that? It's
- 24:08Speaker 13: I've been told that there will not be a jobs
- 24:10Speaker 13: report because they can't I guess count when the government
- 24:13Speaker 13: to shut down. So well, we will see about that.
- 24:16Speaker 13: But look, if this is this is the Schumer shutdown.
- 24:20Speaker 13: You're there in New York, so you've got a lot
- 24:22Speaker 13: of New Yorker voters there. Schumer wanted the shutdown. I
- 24:25Speaker 13: said this a couple of weeks ago, that Schumer was
- 24:27Speaker 13: going to shut the government down. That's exactly what he
- 24:29Speaker 13: has done. But it's not working for the Democrats. I
- 24:31Speaker 13: don't think Mark. I mean, I'm talking to his normal
- 24:33Speaker 13: people all the time. They're like, why are the Democrats
- 24:35Speaker 13: doing this? Is it really because they just want to
- 24:38Speaker 13: provide free healthcare the legal immigrants.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Now they'll say that's a lie, it's a Republican lie,
- 24:43Speaker 2: but tell us the truth. It does.
- 24:45Speaker 13: But it's not a lie. I mean, is I read
- 24:48Speaker 13: the text of their version, and it repeals the provision
- 24:53Speaker 13: in the Republican budget that says you are not permitted
- 24:56Speaker 13: that Medicaid dollars can only go to people who are
- 25:00Speaker 13: either legal citizens or legal immigrants in the country. So
- 25:04Speaker 13: that pretty much leaves illegal immigrants out.
- 25:08Speaker 2: But I was watching Morning Joe, and according to him,
- 25:11Speaker 2: you guys, you're just all to give money to billionaires.
- 25:15Speaker 13: That's only right, like though he doesn't say the billionaires
- 25:19Speaker 13: are playing more of the taxes than ever before in
- 25:22Speaker 13: American history. The top one percent pay a larger share
- 25:24Speaker 13: of the tax of income tax than anytime ever since
- 25:28Speaker 13: we invented the income tax and back in nineteen thirteen.
- 25:31Speaker 13: So those are those are just talking points from the Democrats.
- 25:34Speaker 13: But I just don't get it. I mean, I think
- 25:37Speaker 13: Schumer's kind of thing is is back learning. He lost,
- 25:41Speaker 13: as you know, he lost three Democratic Senators in the
- 25:44Speaker 13: vote that happened before that, and I think if you
- 25:46Speaker 13: had another vote, he'd probably lose another three or four.
- 25:49Speaker 13: And again I want to make sure people understand this
- 25:51Speaker 13: mark because you know, we have Byzantine rules in Washington,
- 25:55Speaker 13: so people say, well, look, the Republics don't call the
- 25:57Speaker 13: House the Senate and the White House. Why is the
- 25:59Speaker 13: government shut down? It's because it takes sixty votes in
- 26:02Speaker 13: the Senate, sixty out of one hundred to pass the budget.
- 26:05Speaker 13: And all the Republicans and three Democrats voted for that,
- 26:09Speaker 13: but that only brought us to what fifty five or
- 26:11Speaker 13: fifty six, So that's why there's still five votes are short.
- 26:15Speaker 13: But I bet if they had a vote tomorrow, I
- 26:17Speaker 13: think you've been getting close to sixty because the Democrats
- 26:20Speaker 13: are getting hammered on this. Nobody understands what it is
- 26:23Speaker 13: that they're after here. It's just show voting and trying
- 26:25Speaker 13: to embarrass Trump and trying to get more money. And
- 26:28Speaker 13: by the way, I'm very pro immigration. I think immigrants
- 26:30Speaker 13: are great, but no, you can't let all these people
- 26:34Speaker 13: come into the country and then go to the go
- 26:35Speaker 13: and use our healthcare services and you and I pay
- 26:39Speaker 13: for it.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Yeah. No, we love immigration. We just don't like illegals.
- 26:41Speaker 2: I mean, I love far exactly, I love pharmacists, but
- 26:45Speaker 2: I don't like you illegal drug dealers, I mean legal exactly.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Apparently there is a vote tomorrow eleven am. That's when
- 26:54Speaker 2: they may vote again tomorrow, Okay.
- 26:56Speaker 13: And I'll bet you I don't know if they'll get
- 26:58Speaker 13: to sixty, but they're going to get close because the
- 27:00Speaker 13: Democrats are feeling the anger of the American people. And
- 27:04Speaker 13: by the way, this does cost money. That's the other
- 27:06Speaker 13: thing that rush Bott is saying is like, well, you know,
- 27:09Speaker 13: when we have these non essential people not go to
- 27:12Speaker 13: the office, did you know.
- 27:13Speaker 2: They get paid? Yeah, everybody, they.
- 27:16Speaker 13: Still get paid. Showing on for not having to work costs.
- 27:19Speaker 13: I wish my boss had said that you can I
- 27:22Speaker 13: show up for the office tomorrow, but I'm still going
- 27:24Speaker 13: to pay you. Yeah.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Hey, Steve Moore, let me ask you something. You're a
- 27:27Speaker 2: brilliant economist. We've got great economists, you, Art Laugher, Larry Cudlow,
- 27:32Speaker 2: Steve Forbes. Then you got forty thousand other economists. They
- 27:36Speaker 2: never know what the hell they're talking about, and they're
- 27:38Speaker 2: always wrong. Why is that?
- 27:40Speaker 13: Yeah, well, we had something in our hotline this morning
- 27:43Speaker 13: about that, and if you want to get that for
- 27:45Speaker 13: free focus go down leash prospirty dot com and sign
- 27:47Speaker 13: up for free. But we looked at the forecast of
- 27:52Speaker 13: all the blue chip economists, all the smartest economists at all
- 27:54Speaker 13: the big you know, banks and investment firms and so
- 27:57Speaker 13: on the ones that are paid a million dollars a
- 27:59Speaker 13: year to come up with these forecasts, and they are
- 28:01Speaker 13: the blue chip. All the blue chip forecasts, there was
- 28:04Speaker 13: almost no exceptions. They all basically, Oh, we're gonna have
- 28:07Speaker 13: one and a half percent economic growth this year, blah
- 28:09Speaker 13: blah blah.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Guess what.
- 28:10Speaker 13: Both in the second and third quarter we had a
- 28:12Speaker 13: closer four percent growth. How could they be more wrong?
- 28:15Speaker 13: I mean, I would take it's almost like playing pin
- 28:18Speaker 13: the tail on the donkey with the blindfolded person and
- 28:21Speaker 13: you know, trying to put I mean their their projections
- 28:24Speaker 13: have been completely wrong, and the economy's done much better
- 28:27Speaker 13: this year than almost all of the economy. Remember Paul
- 28:31Speaker 13: Kruman over that one, he said, oh my god, we're
- 28:33Speaker 13: gonna have a second great depression of Trump goes back
- 28:36Speaker 13: into office. Well, I don't know. I looked at the
- 28:38Speaker 13: stock markets doing pretty well well.
- 28:40Speaker 2: You know, I could understand the New York Times hiring
- 28:42Speaker 2: a total sleazy, biased economist. But if you're a big
- 28:46Speaker 2: Wall Street from you got to get it right.
- 28:49Speaker 13: How can we got it all wrong? Yeah?
- 28:51Speaker 2: Don't you have to fire the economists to get I mean,
- 28:53Speaker 2: baseball manager gets fired if you losees too many games.
- 28:55Speaker 13: Exactly.
- 28:56Speaker 11: No.
- 28:56Speaker 13: But that's the thing about you know, the the economics
- 28:59Speaker 13: and power it takes it. It doesn't matter how much
- 29:01Speaker 13: many times you're wrong, you know. I mean people have
- 29:03Speaker 13: written whole books about Paul Krupman about almost every prediction
- 29:07Speaker 13: he ever made. You know, he remembers he said Internet.
- 29:09Speaker 13: That's just a passing fab remember that one.
- 29:14Speaker 2: The dumbest guy ever. Doesn't he have a Nobel prize.
- 29:18Speaker 13: He does, he has a Nobel Prize in the economic
- 29:20Speaker 13: So that's you know who deserves. By the way, since
- 29:23Speaker 13: this is Nobel time, you know the guy who really
- 29:26Speaker 13: does deserve the Nobel Prize, who's probably the most influential
- 29:29Speaker 13: living economy. I mean I don't think probably, I think
- 29:31Speaker 13: certainly is the most impactful economists over the last you know,
- 29:36Speaker 13: twenty five years all over the world is out there
- 29:39Speaker 13: laugher and he still doesn't have a he doesn't have
- 29:42Speaker 13: a Nobel prize yet.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Well, he's got to be Trump bashing and he's got
- 29:47Speaker 2: to be much.
- 29:48Speaker 13: He did that, he'd get that Nobel Prize in five minutes.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Well, Steve Moore, great work. Now he runs the Committee
- 29:54Speaker 2: to Unleashed Prosperity. Go to Unleashed prosperity dot com. You

- 31:11Speaker 2: hour to go on seven to ten wor.
- 31:15Speaker 1: This is Marmon Show. I'm seventen wor.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Oh, we got a lot to get through this hour.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Now let's start with Wheel of Fortune. So there's a
- 31:33Speaker 2: woman from Connecticut who's the contestant on Wheel of Fortune.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Her name is Christina d John drender Jet but whatever
- 31:42Speaker 2: it is. But she's from Stamford, very nice looking, beautiful, energetic,
- 31:47Speaker 2: great personality. She's thirty four years old, she's engaged, and
- 31:53Speaker 2: last night she won a million dollars. You know, they
- 31:56Speaker 2: have this secret. You open the envelopes, see how much
- 31:59Speaker 2: you want if you get at this puzzle. And Ryan
- 32:02Speaker 2: Seacrest courses the host to Wheel of Fortune.
- 32:04Speaker 8: What happens if you win a million dollars?
- 32:08Speaker 14: I may be putting in my two weeks, but we
- 32:10Speaker 14: won't tell her that yet.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Well, I thought it was a pretty easy puzzle. You know,
- 32:18Speaker 2: even I could have solved it. But there was a
- 32:20Speaker 2: not too tough a puzzle, and she got it right,
- 32:23Speaker 2: and she won a million dollars. Living things.
- 32:26Speaker 1: That is the category.
- 32:27Speaker 14: You'll have ten seconds to try and solve it.
- 32:30Speaker 7: Christina staring at me, good luck, pack of coyotes.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so she won a million dollars. Now she is engaged,
- 32:55Speaker 2: and apparently she never told her her bo that she
- 33:00Speaker 2: won a million dollars. She kept it from him. Now
- 33:03Speaker 2: you see these headlines, it sounds like something's wrong with
- 33:05Speaker 2: this relationship. Y didn't she tell them? Well, you know
- 33:08Speaker 2: they do film They record these Wheel of Fortune episodes
- 33:13Speaker 2: way way at months in advance, and you're sworn to secrecy.
- 33:20Speaker 2: You have to sign a document and you might not
- 33:22Speaker 2: get the million dollars if you tell anybody. You have
- 33:25Speaker 2: to sign this agreement to keep it secret. And she did.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Now they again, they do these Wheel of Fortunes months
- 33:32Speaker 2: in advance. So she signed the agreement and she didn't
- 33:34Speaker 2: want to risk losing the million dollars, so she didn't
- 33:36Speaker 2: tell him. He just found out she's one million dollars.
- 33:40Speaker 2: So that's great. She lives. Doesn't say we're in Stanford
- 33:44Speaker 2: single thirty four could be Harbord point. She got that
- 33:46Speaker 2: look about her. But that's great news. Now let's get
- 33:51Speaker 2: two business news. Business news. All right, I'm not exactly
- 33:56Speaker 2: a Liz claiming here, but a couple of things going on.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Starbucks is having real trouble. You know, they were having
- 34:05Speaker 2: real trouble. Anyway. They got rid of the CEO and
- 34:07Speaker 2: they brought in the CEO from Chipotle, which has been booming.
- 34:11Speaker 2: No fast food chain has gotten bigger, faster, done better
- 34:15Speaker 2: than Chipotle, so they got the Chipotle CEO to come over.
- 34:20Speaker 2: He thinks Starbucks needed a lot of change. So if
- 34:22Speaker 2: you notice every time you look at the Starbucks, they've
- 34:26Speaker 2: closed it down for two weeks to rebuild it, and
- 34:28Speaker 2: they all got this different look now instead of all
- 34:31Speaker 2: these different cases where they sell mugs and they sell
- 34:34Speaker 2: coffee makers and they sold again, it's just a long
- 34:36Speaker 2: counter and it's just coffee. He also streamlined the menu.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Instead of seventy five things, it's just the twenty most popular,
- 34:44Speaker 2: even the food that condensed it. So he's been doing that.
- 34:47Speaker 2: But apparently they're going to close lots of Starbucks, and
- 34:50Speaker 2: they start doing it without any warning. They're closing hundreds
- 34:54Speaker 2: and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds, four hundred stores around
- 34:57Speaker 2: the country. They're closing dozens right here in New York. Yeah,
- 35:02Speaker 2: fifty four coffees shops Starbucks. Fifty four are closing in
- 35:07Speaker 2: New York, and some in what you would think would
- 35:09Speaker 2: be prime locations. Upper east Side, Upper West Side, Financial District,
- 35:13Speaker 2: Midtown Manhattan. One right over there, fifty second near sixth
- 35:17Speaker 2: between six and seven. That one's closing. They were underperforming,
- 35:20Speaker 2: but they just closed them just like that. You remember
- 35:23Speaker 2: how Starbucks would always tell you what a wonderful company
- 35:25Speaker 2: they are, how they take care of everybody, their employees
- 35:27Speaker 2: are like family. Well, these are closing these stores no notice.
- 35:33Speaker 2: People show up, stores closed, You're fired. That's it, you're going.
- 35:36Speaker 2: They'll just literally put signs in the windows overnight. Didn't
- 35:39Speaker 2: tell landlords, didn't tell building managers. Newmark Retail vice chairman
- 35:45Speaker 2: said there was no warning, no heads up, and he explains,
- 35:48Speaker 2: you know, retail tennis will always let you know, well
- 35:51Speaker 2: in advance, they'll reach out to the landlord and to
- 35:54Speaker 2: negotiate concessions. But this was quick, this was instant. It says,
- 36:01Speaker 2: underperforming stores. I mean, this guy, I guess you gotta
- 36:03Speaker 2: do that. If you see it always kind of cold
- 36:05Speaker 2: about it. Underperforming stores got to go that's it. Now
- 36:11Speaker 2: speaking to coffee, Maxwell House, you know the name Maxwell
- 36:15Speaker 2: House coffee. It's like one of the oldest. It's very
- 36:18Speaker 2: good coffee, but one of the oldest. You know, even
- 36:21Speaker 2: if you're eighty years old, you remember those commercials as
- 36:24Speaker 2: a kid. Maxwell House. They're changing their name. This doesn't
- 36:30Speaker 2: sound good at all. They must have hired the marketing
- 36:33Speaker 2: team from a cracker barrel. Maxwellhouse changing the name to
- 36:39Speaker 2: Maxwell Apartment. No, I'm not kidding. They're actually changing the
- 36:44Speaker 2: name of the It's going to be called Maxwell Apartment.
- 36:47Speaker 2: This is the it's been one hundred and thirty three years.
- 36:50Speaker 2: One hundred and thirty three years they were in Maxwell House.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Now it's going to be Maxwell Apartment. They say, we'll
- 36:55Speaker 2: have the same taste, aroma, quality, and ingredients. The rebring
- 37:00Speaker 2: end is to represent the reality of today's consumers. Why
- 37:03Speaker 2: nearly a third of Americans are now renting smaller places.
- 37:08Speaker 2: They're not purchasing full size homes. The coffee giant wants
- 37:11Speaker 2: to reflect that with a rebrand. Two thirds of American
- 37:15Speaker 2: adults drink coffee every day two thirds, yeah, seventy percent,
- 37:21Speaker 2: seventy five percent, and head of Coffee Marketing said they
- 37:29Speaker 2: tend to be younger, tend to live in apartments. So
- 37:33Speaker 2: Maxwell Apartment. That is the dumbest name I get. All right,
- 37:36Speaker 2: let's just predict right now, this is the next Cracker Barrel.
- 37:40Speaker 2: They're going to have to change it back. They're going
- 37:42Speaker 2: to have to go back to the old logo, the
- 37:43Speaker 2: old name, and it's supposed to imply that if you're
- 37:48Speaker 2: drinking Maxwell Apartment, it will help you save more to
- 37:54Speaker 2: buy a house more quickly. What again, just will predict
- 38:00Speaker 2: right now, it's October two, by December, by the end
- 38:05Speaker 2: of the year, by January first, the name will have
- 38:06Speaker 2: to go back and again this is the new Cracker Barrel.
- 38:11Speaker 2: It's amazing. You know, people, before you go out and
- 38:14Speaker 2: hire these marketing companies, they are the dumbest people we've
- 38:18Speaker 2: ever seen. You know. Here at iHeart, not just or,
- 38:21Speaker 2: but we got Power one O five over, they got
- 38:24Speaker 2: Z one hundred, you got Light FM, you got the
- 38:27Speaker 2: biggest radio stations in the world. Upstairs is the network
- 38:32Speaker 2: where you got Sean Hannity and Buck and Cley. The
- 38:34Speaker 2: biggest advertising operation there is iHeart. If you're an advertiser,
- 38:38Speaker 2: if you want to advertise, come here because you can
- 38:41Speaker 2: reach everybody. Just on this floor, all these stations, I
- 38:44Speaker 2: think we reach like twenty two million people every day.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Upstairs at the network, I think they reach twenty eight
- 38:50Speaker 2: million people every day. But so we do advertising all
- 38:53Speaker 2: the time, and I can't tell you how many times. Now,
- 38:56Speaker 2: if you come here to advertise, we'll help you. We'll
- 38:58Speaker 2: show you how to word the commercial, how to fix
- 39:00Speaker 2: it up, what to say. And we do that all
- 39:02Speaker 2: the time because these companies come here, even the big
- 39:05Speaker 2: companies with the worst marketing, and you look at the copy.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Who told you to say this? What's our new marketing company?
- 39:16Speaker 2: Watch out for these marketing companies. They're not always there's
- 39:20Speaker 2: a couple of good ones, but there are a lot
- 39:22Speaker 2: that are not so hot. Let's say Zora and Mam Donnie. Uh,
- 39:28Speaker 2: every you know, he's been very careful last couple of weeks,
- 39:30Speaker 2: Mam Donnie has been extremely cautious answering questions. He dances
- 39:36Speaker 2: around these answers. Hey, by the way, Mam Donnie is
- 39:39Speaker 2: a Starbucks. Mam Donnie's out there fighting for the Starbucks baristas.
- 39:44Speaker 2: He's doing some kind of protest or something.
- 39:46Speaker 14: This is a city, and this is a movement that
- 39:48Speaker 14: deserves a mayor who isn't staying at home and calling
- 39:52Speaker 14: billionaires for donations. This is a city, and this is
- 39:55Speaker 14: a movement that deserves a mayor who knows exactly what
- 39:58Speaker 14: a picket line looks like as well as a practice
- 40:00Speaker 14: picket looks like.
- 40:02Speaker 2: What mayors who's staying home calling billionaires? Not Curtis, it's
- 40:08Speaker 2: not really Adams, now Adams, Oh, he's talking about Cuomo.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Cuomo actually does that. If you're one of those billionaires.
- 40:15Speaker 2: That's the whole secret of Cuomo. Everybody hates him. The
- 40:18Speaker 2: public hates him. He's creepy, he's weird, public can't stand
- 40:22Speaker 2: and he has the highest unfavorabilities. But as soon as
- 40:24Speaker 2: he got run out of office and he fled in
- 40:27Speaker 2: disgraced from Albany, he descended on Southampton and the Upper
- 40:31Speaker 2: east Side and Palm Beach and he wooed those billionaires
- 40:34Speaker 2: who are the most starstruck people ever, and he went
- 40:38Speaker 2: to all their dinners and their dinner parties, and uh,
- 40:42Speaker 2: that's how that's where the donations came from. They're all
- 40:44Speaker 2: backing him. And remember that crowd, whoever they back always loses.
- 40:48Speaker 2: They're always wrong about everything. But that's who he's talking about, then, Mom,
- 40:53Speaker 2: Donnie's talking about picket lines.
- 40:55Speaker 15: And absolutely the point of this position is to stand
- 40:58Speaker 15: up for the people of the city, and this city
- 40:59Speaker 15: would not be what it is without organized labor, without unions,
- 41:02Speaker 15: ensuring that workers have a dignified life and they deserve
- 41:06Speaker 15: a Mayoro's going to stand with them on the picket line.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Gota admit, he's a good talker. He talks real fast.
- 41:10Speaker 2: You know, if you talk fast, you sound very smart.
- 41:11Speaker 2: When you talk that fast, people think you must know
- 41:13Speaker 2: what you're talking about. How else could you talk that fast?
- 41:16Speaker 2: Then you get Cuomo, who talks like deuce. Now, also,
- 41:21Speaker 2: besides being very careful dancing around questions, he's trying to
- 41:26Speaker 2: he's got a big problem with the anti Semitism. I mean,
- 41:29Speaker 2: let's be honest, this guy is anti Israel, anti Semitic.
- 41:32Speaker 2: He's horrible. But he's trying to be a little more
- 41:35Speaker 2: cautious with him.
- 41:35Speaker 16: And so to be very very clear, of course I
- 41:37Speaker 16: condemn hamas of course I have called October seventh what
- 41:40Speaker 16: it was, which is a horrific war crime. And of
- 41:42Speaker 16: course my belief in a universality and international law is
- 41:45Speaker 16: also the same set of beliefs that have led me
- 41:48Speaker 16: to describe what's happening in Gaza as a genocide.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you see, he puts on that very sincere voice.
- 41:52Speaker 2: He talks fast in that sincere voice. He lowers his tone,
- 41:55Speaker 2: and he throws in that of course I would never,
- 41:57Speaker 2: of course I would never. Of course I would never.
- 42:03Speaker 2: He was probably cheering on October seventh. Now here he
- 42:06Speaker 2: is on Trump.
- 42:06Speaker 16: This is a moment where we have to address the
- 42:08Speaker 16: administration for what it is, which is authoritarian. It's going
- 42:11Speaker 16: to require us to do everything in our power to
- 42:13Speaker 16: fight back, not to coordinate like Andrew Cuomo's done being
- 42:16Speaker 16: on the phone with Donald Trump, or collaborate like Eric
- 42:18Speaker 16: Adams is done by welcoming ice into the city.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Authoritarian. They love this. He's a fascist, He's authoritarian. Now,
- 42:26Speaker 2: what Donnie is proposing is socialism, which is authoritarian. As
- 42:31Speaker 2: you can get. He has come out with some dangerous positions.
- 42:36Speaker 2: I mean in the past obviously, but even recently. Now
- 42:39Speaker 2: here's another one. A lot of police officials have talked
- 42:43Speaker 2: about this mom Donnie. He's now proposing that he take
- 42:48Speaker 2: power away from the NYPD commissioner and give it to him.
- 42:51Speaker 2: And one place he wants to do. That is on discipline.
- 42:55Speaker 2: You know, when an officer has to be disciplined, Mom,
- 42:58Speaker 2: Donnie wants that to no longer be the power of
- 43:02Speaker 2: the police commissioner. It will be the power of the mayor.
- 43:04Speaker 2: This is very dangerous. You want it to be the
- 43:06Speaker 2: police commissioner. The NYPD's largest union is warning. Police Benevolent
- 43:12Speaker 2: Association is warning this is dangerous. Now, what he wants
- 43:16Speaker 2: to do is have the Civilian Complaint Review Board have
- 43:20Speaker 2: the final authority on discipline. Now, the problem there is
- 43:24Speaker 2: that's a board where everybody would be appointed by Mamdani.
- 43:29Speaker 2: So on his Civilian Review Board, it'll all be a
- 43:32Speaker 2: cop hating, crazy left wing kook who hate the cops.
- 43:36Speaker 2: You know, no bail, no jail, crust, so they will
- 43:39Speaker 2: go after every cop. Now, what happens if Mamdani gets
- 43:42Speaker 2: in and he does that, he's the final say on
- 43:44Speaker 2: the discipline. His review board is the final say. Well,
- 43:51Speaker 2: the damage will be unbelievable. Police officials have said privately,
- 43:55Speaker 2: it'll be unbelievable what this will do to crime because
- 43:58Speaker 2: what will happen is the policeman or woman will be
- 44:03Speaker 2: afraid to intervene in most situations because they could end
- 44:06Speaker 2: up discipline fired by this Mam Donnie review. And if
- 44:11Speaker 2: Mom Donni has the final decision. The one thing about
- 44:13Speaker 2: the police commissioner, at least you know, you'll try to
- 44:16Speaker 2: stand up for you. If you watch Blue Bloods, you
- 44:18Speaker 2: remember how many Blue Bloods episodes or the mayor for
- 44:22Speaker 2: political reasons says you got to fire that cop right now,
- 44:24Speaker 2: you got to indict that in the police commissioner says
- 44:27Speaker 2: that he was just doing his job. And if this happens,
- 44:33Speaker 2: no cop will want to approach any situation that's questionable
- 44:38Speaker 2: in the street. They'll have to just let it go.
- 44:40Speaker 2: You know, one thing Cuomo did he took away the
- 44:43Speaker 2: qualified immunity the cops have, which is protection, legal protection.
- 44:47Speaker 2: He took it away from them. That's why a lot
- 44:49Speaker 2: of cops had to stop approaching certain situations because the
- 44:53Speaker 2: person could then sue them, and they weren't covered for
- 44:56Speaker 2: lawsuits by the department. He could sue them personally. This
- 45:00Speaker 2: is what Cuomo did to them. It's just awful, so
- 45:04Speaker 2: a horrible proposal. Hey, Forbes magazine, you know they do
- 45:09Speaker 2: the rich Who's the Richest Person list? Bloomberg does it.
- 45:13Speaker 2: A lot of people do. The best one is Forbes.
- 45:15Speaker 2: That's the most accurate, that's the best one of all.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Forbes now saying Elon Musk will be the first person
- 45:22Speaker 2: to hit five hundred billion dollars, he'll be worth half
- 45:27Speaker 2: a trillion dollars. That means he'll be a trillionaire. He'll
- 45:30Speaker 2: be the world's first trillionaire probably within ten years. Musk
- 45:35Speaker 2: hits five hundred billion. Second place Larry Ellison three hundred
- 45:41Speaker 2: and fifty billion, which means Musk can look at this
- 45:46Speaker 2: guy with three hundred and fifty billion and say three
- 45:51Speaker 2: hundred and fifty billion, that's nothing. Zuckerberg in third place
- 45:55Speaker 2: two hundred and fifty billion. Jeff Bezos found it falls
- 45:59Speaker 2: to fourth place two hundred and thirty three billion. You know,
- 46:02Speaker 2: if you see a guy with two three billion dollars,
- 46:04Speaker 2: you go, wow, he's a billion or two three billion.
- 46:07Speaker 2: These guys now look at him like they're a welfare cases.
- 46:10Speaker 2: At five hundred billion, can you imagine that? Could you
- 46:14Speaker 2: imagine that? You couldn't spend this if you tried, if
- 46:16Speaker 2: you just put it in the in the right in
- 46:19Speaker 2: the right fund, it would generate forty billion a year
- 46:25Speaker 2: in interest, forty billion a year. You could just live
- 46:28Speaker 2: off that. You didn't never have to work again. Just
- 46:30Speaker 2: invest this, collect forty billion a year in interest. You
- 46:33Speaker 2: couldn't spend that if you tried, you could not. It's impossible.
- 46:36Speaker 2: You couldn't spend it if you tried. Hey, we'll take
- 46:39Speaker 2: some calls. Next eight hundred three two one zero seven
- 46:43Speaker 2: ten is the number eight hundred three to two one
- 46:46Speaker 2: zero seven ten.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Get instant access to Mark by setting a pre set
- 46:51Speaker 1: in the iHeartRadio app for his live show.
- 46:53Speaker 11: And his podcast.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone show on worn.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Let's take some calls. Let's go to Katie in Chappaquaw Katie,
- 47:04Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 47:06Speaker 12: Hi?
- 47:07Speaker 11: Mark?
- 47:07Speaker 6: Oh, thank you for taking my call, and also for
- 47:10Speaker 6: explaining what happened to our Chapa Claw neighborhood Starbucks.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Oh it's gone, it's gone.
- 47:18Speaker 6: I went away for a few weeks. A few days
- 47:21Speaker 6: I came back and the store was closed, And my
- 47:23Speaker 6: neighbor told me that nobody knew she had spoke. She
- 47:27Speaker 6: had seen a sign. It was basically almost overnight. It
- 47:30Speaker 6: was a sign in the window, and then the next
- 47:33Speaker 6: day they were they were closed, and even the employees
- 47:36Speaker 6: couldn't explain what happened.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Did you ever run into Yeah, did you ever run
- 47:41Speaker 2: into Bill c? Bill Clinton? Did you ever see him
- 47:43Speaker 2: in that?
- 47:44Speaker 13: Yeah?
- 47:45Speaker 6: I used to be there a lot.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure he was there a lot. Hey, how
- 47:48Speaker 2: are you? You know who I am?
- 47:52Speaker 8: That's pretty good.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I apparently like to walk around Chapka.
- 47:56Speaker 8: Hello, how are you he did?
- 47:59Speaker 6: Yeah, we haven't. I haven't seen him lately.
- 48:02Speaker 2: Well, don't chinx it?
- 48:04Speaker 10: Uh?
- 48:06Speaker 2: What do you do there in Chappaqua?
- 48:09Speaker 15: Uh?
- 48:09Speaker 6: You know, it's funny because Starbucks is one of the
- 48:12Speaker 6: few places we could hang out. It's mostly nail salons
- 48:16Speaker 6: and realtors, just like three nail salons the Korean you know,
- 48:19Speaker 6: spas and and then realatuors okay, and you know, and
- 48:25Speaker 6: Chappaquaw was it was a chain and we have everything
- 48:29Speaker 6: else is individually owned except for there's a Walgreens.
- 48:32Speaker 13: And a Talbot.
- 48:33Speaker 6: But I mean there's really hardly anything there.
- 48:36Speaker 2: You're right next to Armand, aren't you. Yeah? Yeah? Armand
- 48:39Speaker 2: you got the Modern Barn. That's a great restaurant. I
- 48:41Speaker 2: love that place.
- 48:43Speaker 13: It's great, it is, it's excellent.
- 48:46Speaker 2: All right, Well, thanks for calling, Katie. Let's go to
- 48:48Speaker 2: Nick and Mount Vernon. Nick how you doing, Hey, Mark,
- 48:53Speaker 2: great show. Thanks, two quick questions.
- 48:57Speaker 11: President trumpet said he wanted to eliminate daylights time.
- 49:00Speaker 8: Is that going to happen?
- 49:03Speaker 2: I don't know. It's like back burner issue. It'll be
- 49:05Speaker 2: great if they do that, because look, it's terrible now.
- 49:08Speaker 2: It's already dark at six thirty. Uh yeah, well hopefully.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Well that'll be a that's the next year thing. That's
- 49:14Speaker 2: a next year thing.
- 49:14Speaker 9: We have a second question for you, please, Yeah, what
- 49:17Speaker 9: are the best professional headphones?
- 49:21Speaker 1: Uh?
- 49:21Speaker 2: Depends what you want. If you want to listen, uh,
- 49:26Speaker 2: just listen, nothing else. The new AirPod, the brand new
- 49:30Speaker 2: AirPod Pro three, it just came out. Those are really
- 49:33Speaker 2: really good. Beats are really good now. But you're talking
- 49:36Speaker 2: about big headphones, like studio headphones you'd wear in the studio. Yes, yes,
- 49:40Speaker 2: Oh well, it depends what you want. You want real crispy.
- 49:42Speaker 2: A lot of people like those Sony ones. Wait, hang on,
- 49:45Speaker 2: I got to take off my headphones. Oh audio Technica.
- 49:48Speaker 2: I love these. They're not so they're not so tiny
- 49:51Speaker 2: and crisp. Audio Technica go check. That's all right, Thanks
- 49:55Speaker 2: for Colin. Let's go to Neil in Brooklyn. Neil, how
- 49:59Speaker 2: you doing.
- 50:00Speaker 13: All right, Yeah, you know, Maxwell Apartments works very good
- 50:06Speaker 13: from Manhattan, but maybe northern California they just have Maxwell.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Tent or.
- 50:13Speaker 13: That's a very good idea, and they could do it
- 50:16Speaker 13: by different areas, you know.
- 50:19Speaker 2: All right, thanks for calling. What we're talking about is
- 50:22Speaker 2: it's the stupidest thing since Cracker Barrel, Maxwell House changing
- 50:25Speaker 2: the name of the car. It's going to be Maxwell Apartment.
- 50:29Speaker 2: That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. But I
- 50:31Speaker 2: like that. I actually make it Maxwell Condo, Maxwell coll.
- 50:35Speaker 2: It doesn't make any sense at all. It's like Cracker Barrel.
- 50:38Speaker 2: You know, the problem is these marketing companies. They all
- 50:42Speaker 2: think you got to change the name, change the logo, change.
- 50:44Speaker 2: It's all about the product. Let's go to Marlow in
- 50:47Speaker 2: New Jersey. Marlow, how you doing.
- 50:51Speaker 12: Yeah, Hi, it's Mario here in New Jersey.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Mark.
- 50:55Speaker 12: Hey, listen regarding that Maxwell House saying, do you know
- 51:00Speaker 12: that Missus Dash that's been around for the longest time
- 51:03Speaker 12: is changed in name. It's now just Dash. Can you imagine?
- 51:07Speaker 2: Okay, you can't say missus anymore?
- 51:10Speaker 12: No, I guess I went to buy some at the
- 51:13Speaker 12: local Supermark a couple of months ago looking for Missus Dash,
- 51:16Speaker 12: and I did see and I was confused. Then I
- 51:18Speaker 12: saw Dash and I thought, well, this is the same,
- 51:20Speaker 12: must be the same. Part up, they.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Changed it, So what is the deal? Miss Remember that.
- 51:25Speaker 12: Dash was actually a detergent years back.
- 51:28Speaker 2: That's right. Well maybe miss missus Dash went trans or something.
- 51:31Speaker 2: She's not a missus anymore. Maybe maybe maybe it's day
- 51:36Speaker 2: now call all right, thanks for calling. Yeah, stop changing
- 51:40Speaker 2: the names of everything. Just make it you know what,
- 51:43Speaker 2: you can hire a marketing company, hire like the greatest
- 51:47Speaker 2: chefs or whatever. Make the product taste better, make it delicious.
- 51:51Speaker 2: If it's delicious, if it's unbelievable, nobody cares what it's called. Hey,
- 51:55Speaker 2: when we come back, Jimmy Fayla will be with us.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Let's talk to him about everything going on in the world.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Next on seven to ten WR.
- 52:02Speaker 15: Mister New York Marksimon on seven ten WR.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Hey, Jimmy Fayla, the great hosts. You got to listen
- 52:11Speaker 2: to him every night. He's on w R every weeknight
- 52:14Speaker 2: now nine to midnight, excellent show, Interesting, funny, nine to
- 52:19Speaker 2: midnight every night, and he does the best late night
- 52:22Speaker 2: show on television every Saturday night ten pm on the
- 52:26Speaker 2: Fox News Channel. Jimmy Fayla, how you doing?
- 52:30Speaker 13: It's better? Now?
- 52:33Speaker 17: I was watching Mom Donnie on the View this morning.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Now I didn't see it.
- 52:40Speaker 17: So the best part is like during the during the
- 52:42Speaker 17: View itself, he's in one of the commercials for the
- 52:44Speaker 17: Golden Bachelor, you know, the show The Golden Bachelor, and
- 52:48Speaker 17: those actually, oddly enough, those marriages actually work out the
- 52:52Speaker 17: best because on the Golden Bachelor, till death doest part
- 52:55Speaker 17: isn't his law.
- 52:56Speaker 11: You know.
- 52:57Speaker 13: It's like when they two year olds get married on TV.
- 53:01Speaker 2: You know they got they gotta make it a long time.
- 53:03Speaker 13: But I'm watching Mom Donnie and he's given his speech.
- 53:05Speaker 17: About the Golden Bachelor and giving people the Rose, and
- 53:09Speaker 17: I'm like, wait, this is the guy that supports legalized prostitutions.
- 53:14Speaker 13: Why are you wasting your time on a gating show?
- 53:17Speaker 2: Well, uh, is that a bad thing? Legalized prostitution?
- 53:21Speaker 13: Well, well not if he wants to get Bill Clinton's endorsement.
- 53:26Speaker 2: But hey, how are you coping with the government shutdown?
- 53:31Speaker 2: How is it affecting your life?
- 53:33Speaker 11: Well, it's not.
- 53:34Speaker 17: It's not me I worry about it's you know, there's
- 53:36Speaker 17: a lot of drag shows in Latvias that.
- 53:38Speaker 13: Aren't being funded right now.
- 53:40Speaker 17: I mean, think think of the poor kids in Iraq
- 53:43Speaker 17: that wanted to get out of bed this morning and
- 53:45Speaker 17: watch a transgender sesame Street, but our government had to
- 53:49Speaker 17: shut down, so now they're not paying for it, you know, Yeah,
- 53:52Speaker 17: to think about the other people.
- 53:53Speaker 13: Mark, But the whole thing is ridiculous.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Yeah, when they say non essential, don't you say, wait
- 53:59Speaker 2: a minute, you have non essential workers. Why why are
- 54:02Speaker 2: we paying for that?
- 54:03Speaker 13: It's such a good such a good point.
- 54:06Speaker 17: It's like, you know what, every once in a while
- 54:07Speaker 17: you go over the credit card statement and go like, oh,
- 54:09Speaker 17: we paid twelve ninety nine for this, why are we
- 54:11Speaker 17: doing that? But in the government, it's like, we pay
- 54:14Speaker 17: twelve billions for this, why are we doing that? Hey,
- 54:18Speaker 17: somebody else has to look at their master card statement? Yeah,
- 54:20Speaker 17: go ahead, I'm sorry.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Oh no, you say, as a great comedian, could you
- 54:23Speaker 2: give Hakeem Jeffries some advice on how to take a joke.
- 54:28Speaker 2: This guy's the biggest stiff I've ever seen.
- 54:31Speaker 17: Oh, I know, And it's funny because he's obviously like
- 54:34Speaker 17: a karaoke Obama. You know, he's an Obama pumper band.
- 54:40Speaker 13: That's totally what he is.
- 54:41Speaker 17: And you know, to Obama's credit, like the media never
- 54:44Speaker 17: gave him a hard time, but he at least had
- 54:46Speaker 17: a bit of a personality.
- 54:48Speaker 13: Hakeem Jeffries.
- 54:49Speaker 17: It's weird. He almost reminds me more of Hillary, and
- 54:52Speaker 17: that the octaves in his voice never change, you know,
- 54:55Speaker 17: like if Hillary was the lead singer a Kiss, you'd
- 54:57Speaker 17: be like, I want to rock and roll all night
- 55:01Speaker 17: and the party every day.
- 55:03Speaker 13: And you're like, woll you don't sound that enthusiastic about it, Hill,
- 55:07Speaker 13: And that's kind of Jefferies. There's no passion. So he
- 55:10Speaker 13: wants to be Obama.
- 55:11Speaker 17: But to Obama's credit, he could at least get out
- 55:13Speaker 17: there and sell you the bs that he was pedaling.
- 55:15Speaker 13: Yeah, nobody buys a king. Like if I was a king, Jeffreys,
- 55:18Speaker 13: I would want.
- 55:19Speaker 17: Trump to be accenting all of my videos with mariachi's
- 55:23Speaker 17: and hats and mustaches.
- 55:24Speaker 8: Because it gives them some life, you know.
- 55:28Speaker 2: And what about Schumer, he's like from nineteen eighty two,
- 55:31Speaker 2: He's just so a relic updated sort of guy.
- 55:35Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 55:35Speaker 17: The problem with Schumer is and they Democrats always give
- 55:38Speaker 17: us that speech about how we're the Party of the
- 55:40Speaker 17: youth and they're like we're the Party of the youth.
- 55:42Speaker 17: This you know, this country needs new blood. From looking
- 55:45Speaker 17: at Schumer, I assume they actually mean new blood like transfusions.
- 55:52Speaker 8: You know, he looks like a.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Villain on the Simpsons.
- 55:55Speaker 17: And I don't ever know what to make of him,
- 55:57Speaker 17: because there's the problem with being in Washington, Keith. Seriously,
- 56:00Speaker 17: Schumer has been in Washington since Washington, you know what
- 56:04Speaker 17: I'm saying. And it's like, there's not going to be
- 56:07Speaker 17: a position you don't contradict yourself on. So we've all
- 56:10Speaker 17: heard the clips of him in the nineties in the
- 56:11Speaker 17: early aughts being like a legal immigration it's all a
- 56:13Speaker 17: scam for Medicare benefits. There's all these illegals.
- 56:17Speaker 13: That's where we can't let him in.
- 56:18Speaker 17: And now we could obviously on the complete opposite side
- 56:20Speaker 17: of himself that every Democrat could just debate themselves.
- 56:24Speaker 13: You can get like a hologram of like here's you a.
- 56:26Speaker 17: Year ago, and you can just have that debate.
- 56:30Speaker 2: And who told Schumer these classes look good on you,
- 56:33Speaker 2: those big clunky glass k classes.
- 56:38Speaker 17: Listen, I'm not going to have you insult Schumer's stylist
- 56:41Speaker 17: or his seeing idols.
- 56:42Speaker 2: That's not nice. That's what he looks like. Yeah, he
- 56:45Speaker 2: looks like he needs a dog with those glasses. So
- 56:47Speaker 2: uh good. Hey, I'm sure you're thrilled that un week
- 56:51Speaker 2: is over. That was pretty bad, wasn't it. That un
- 56:54Speaker 2: General a man.
- 56:56Speaker 17: Wasn't the best part though, that macrone had to get
- 56:58Speaker 17: out and walk across town because they had the one
- 57:01Speaker 17: street blocked off. And I was saying on my show,
- 57:05Speaker 17: you know, it's a real slap in the face to
- 57:06Speaker 17: a world leader when you got to get out and walk.
- 57:09Speaker 17: But luckily mccron's used to getting slapped in the face
- 57:11Speaker 17: by his wife.
- 57:12Speaker 13: Do you remember that plane video?
- 57:14Speaker 17: She beat him up on the plane and he had
- 57:17Speaker 17: to get off like it was cool, dude.
- 57:19Speaker 2: We all thought, man, yeah, I remember the day had
- 57:22Speaker 2: that video Trump and Millennia in the fight on the
- 57:24Speaker 2: helicopter and they were trying to go after But then
- 57:26Speaker 2: the lip reader said it was Trump yelling at her.
- 57:28Speaker 2: So he wasn't getting slapped around apparently.
- 57:32Speaker 13: No, no, no, they're not going to beat him up.
- 57:34Speaker 17: No, McCrone looks like he's into it.
- 57:36Speaker 13: Let's be honest.
- 57:37Speaker 17: He looks like one of those people I would drive
- 57:39Speaker 17: around in my taxi because That's thing about New York
- 57:42Speaker 17: tells you is the traffic's the worst on earth. But
- 57:44Speaker 17: it's also the most lucrative week of the year if
- 57:46Speaker 17: you're a cab driver, because there's a lot of people
- 57:49Speaker 17: that have to get around street closures and get to
- 57:51Speaker 17: embassies and York they kind of will hire you for
- 57:54Speaker 17: that knowledge. And you know a lot of these people
- 57:57Speaker 17: I'm talking about get paid in singles and wear very
- 58:00Speaker 17: high stiletto heels.
- 58:02Speaker 2: You're taking up what I'm putting down.
- 58:04Speaker 13: Yes, And that's the part of you.
- 58:06Speaker 17: One week I miss as a driver is you know,
- 58:09Speaker 17: you're driving some some guy in a dress named Cinnabuns
- 58:12Speaker 17: over to some embassy because there's a weirdo diplomat waiting.
- 58:16Speaker 2: That was the part I enjoyed. Well, you haven't driven
- 58:19Speaker 2: in a while. I don't think it's singles anymore, is it. No, No,
- 58:24Speaker 2: you're right, you're right about that. It's it's all kind
- 58:27Speaker 2: of hunter. Biden changed the game.
- 58:29Speaker 17: That was wire transfers coming in from multiple entities, whole
- 58:34Speaker 17: New World.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Hey, uh, you were a cab driver. He's not kidding,
- 58:37Speaker 2: he was a cab driver. Tell us the truth. Does
- 58:39Speaker 2: the driver want to be stuck in traffic and run
- 58:42Speaker 2: up the meter or does he want to get the
- 58:43Speaker 2: ride over fast so you can get a new fare.
- 58:46Speaker 17: Turnover, you want to r you want a faster ride.
- 58:48Speaker 17: I'll tell you the reason why. Every fair that gets
- 58:50Speaker 17: in you're getting the search charge. And maybe it's at
- 58:54Speaker 17: night you're getting that differential. So if you ran the
- 58:57Speaker 17: meter for an hour right now, it might generate eighty
- 59:00Speaker 17: two bucks, but if you turned over four fares, you're
- 59:03Speaker 17: going to be around forty before you even take the
- 59:07Speaker 17: rider get tipped. So unequivocally, you'd rather have four mid
- 59:13Speaker 17: length fairs, five mid length fairs in an hour, turnover
- 59:16Speaker 17: as your friend, and every fourth or fifth person uses
- 59:19Speaker 17: you as an affordable therapist if you're outgoing, and tips
- 59:22Speaker 17: you extra money. So that happens, And that was definitely
- 59:25Speaker 17: my strategy too. The reason guys want the long Fair
- 59:28Speaker 17: like the airport Fair, is at JFK and the taxi
- 59:31Speaker 17: lot there is a massive gambling ring like for real,
- 59:34Speaker 17: for real, what where they play this pie gal poker
- 59:37Speaker 17: game and they like to play this Middle Eastern domino game.
- 59:40Speaker 13: I'm not making it up.
- 59:41Speaker 17: And a lot of guys because when you go to JFK,
- 59:43Speaker 17: you wait like an hour and a half for your
- 59:44Speaker 17: next fair, and a lot of guys gamble. It's like
- 59:47Speaker 17: a card game basically. It's you know, it's almost like
- 59:49Speaker 17: a recreational card game. But there's a lot of money
- 59:51Speaker 17: at stake. And anytime you're driving to Central Taxi at JFK,
- 59:55Speaker 17: if you see that massive lot of cabs, the reason
- 59:58Speaker 17: nobody's in them is half the guys are exercising, the
- 1:00:01Speaker 17: other half are gambling. Okay, that's like a thing, and
- 1:00:03Speaker 17: it's a funny, you know, it's a recreational thing, but
- 1:00:05Speaker 17: it's pretty funny. It's like the new OTB. Instead of
- 1:00:07Speaker 17: off track gambling, we have off road gambling.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: That's actually fascinating. But why would why would as a driver,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: why would you ever want to sit and do nothing
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: for an hour and a half when you could be
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: doing twelve fares?
- 1:00:18Speaker 17: Well, okay, because the thing is that JFK fair that
- 1:00:22Speaker 17: you take that you take back is usually pretty lucrative,
- 1:00:26Speaker 17: and it's for some guys drive. They exclusively do hotels
- 1:00:30Speaker 17: and airports. What I mean is they have a guy
- 1:00:32Speaker 17: at a hotel, They have a guy to hotel that
- 1:00:34Speaker 17: they give twenty bucks to at the beginning of the shift,
- 1:00:35Speaker 17: who's going to give them the first airport fair? Then
- 1:00:38Speaker 17: they're gonna wait and come back to that same hotel
- 1:00:40Speaker 17: when they drop off. And the reason they do that
- 1:00:43Speaker 17: is it actually minimizes the amount of driving in a
- 1:00:46Speaker 17: shift and the money is comparable, meaning they might not
- 1:00:50Speaker 17: always make as much some day as they'll make more
- 1:00:52Speaker 17: depending on who they're dropping off with the hotel. But
- 1:00:54Speaker 17: the big thing is it's just highway back and forth
- 1:00:57Speaker 17: as opposed to the you know, vehicle or combat that
- 1:01:00Speaker 17: I'm engaging in across town for twelve hours a day.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: This is actually fascinating stuff. There's a book in here
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: or a Netflix documentary or something in this somewhere this.
- 1:01:08Speaker 17: Wee, well, it won't be Netflix because I'm not trans
- 1:01:11Speaker 17: but if I decide to make a move, well but great.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Hey, Jimmy Faylor, what's on the tonight show at nine o'clock? Here?
- 1:01:20Speaker 13: It's all coming up.
- 1:01:21Speaker 17: We got Steve Hilton, he's gonna be the next governor
- 1:01:23Speaker 17: of California. And my wife, Jenny Fayala making a rare
- 1:01:27Speaker 17: in studio appearance. She's trying to have an intervention with
- 1:01:31Speaker 17: me based on some things that have happened on the.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: TV show in the last week and a half.
- 1:01:36Speaker 17: I don't know what that means. She just said she's
- 1:01:37Speaker 17: showing up as standards and practices, so I don't know
- 1:01:40Speaker 17: what that means. I might be single this time tomorrow.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Lee's I think she's great. You've got like your own
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: joy Philman there, it's great.
- 1:01:48Speaker 17: Yeah, she's is, she's got she's got real chops and
- 1:01:52Speaker 17: she does, thankfully. She does have a sense of humor.
- 1:01:54Speaker 17: And everybody's always like, oh, how did you get her?
- 1:01:57Speaker 17: And I'm like, what do you mean? Women don't want
- 1:01:59Speaker 17: to marry an overwhe cab driver who has no health insurance.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: That was a buckie forty grand. Come on, man, well,
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: be listening tonight nine to midnight, every weeknight nine to
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: midnight on WOR. It's a great show, and make sure
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: you watch them Saturday nights at ten. I think it's
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: the best late night show on television Saturday nights ten
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: o'clock Fox News Channel. I love that show. Jimmy Fayla,
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: thanks for being with us. You're the man. Marcos you
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: soon all right, take care, hey, and don't forget buck Sexton,
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Clay Travis. Right after this show, they'll be here right
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: after the news at noon on seven to ten wor.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Now more Mark Simone on sement ten wr.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Hey, so it's the day today, October second, it's the
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: second day of October. Now it's actually where in autumn
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: it's fall. Doesn't feel like it's beautiful and sunny out,
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: and it's gonna be a really nice weekend. Remember last
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: week I said this will be like the last summer weekend.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: I take that back. This will be like the last
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: summer weekend. It's gonna be near eighty and bright sunshine
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be a beautiful weekend.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Daylight Saving Time is not that far away evan as
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: far as ending, like going back to standard time, that's
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: gonna be well, not good, not good. But now tomorrow
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: eleven am looks like that might be the next vote
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: on the shutdown. Government is shut down. I keep mentioning
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: that because nobody would notice. Otherwise who would notice? But
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: it looks like tomorrow eleven am something could happen. Even Democrats,
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: I think they've come to realize. Schumer Hakeem Jeffreys, the
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: two biggest stiffs, the worst faces you could put on this,
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: the worst representatives, the messaging from them is just absolutely awful.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: It's not working. Republicans have got their act together as
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: far as messaging solidarity, so they may cave in tomorrow
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: on the shutdown. If not, it'll probably end over the weekend.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: That should be the end of it. Hey, Yankees tonight, right, Yeah,
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: somehow the Yankees won last night. The series now tied.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Tonight is the deciding game, six o'clock. Everybody should be
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: watching that Yankees tonight at six. Anyway, we're out of time.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: I'll be back tomorrow ten to noon. Tomorrow's Friday. That's
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: the good news too. I'll be back tomorrow ten to noon.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: And remember you can also listen to the show and
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: get the podcast here at anytime you want. But I'll
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: talk to you tomorrow on seven to ten. Woir
