Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in scripture and relevant for today, April 30th.
- 0:11Words that build lives that shine.
- 0:14Your words can either add weight to someone's burden or help them
- 0:17breathe again. Proverbs chapter 15 verses 7 to
- 0:218 says the lips of the wise spread knowledge and reminds us
- 0:25that the prayer of the upright is acceptable to the Lord.
- 0:29God cares about both what comes out of our mouths to people and
- 0:33what rises from our hearts to Him.
- 0:36Romans chapter 15 verse 5 asks the God of endurance and
- 0:40encouragement to help believers live in harmony with one
- 0:43another. Romans chapter 16, verse 17
- 0:47warns us to watch out for those who cause division and create
- 0:51obstacles against the truth. Together, these passages remind
- 0:55us that followers of Jesus are called to be people of life,
- 0:58unity and sincere prayer. That matters because division is
- 1:02easy. Gossip is easy, sarcasm is easy,
- 1:07complaining is easy. But encouragement takes
- 1:09intention. Harmony takes humility.
- 1:12Prayer takes sincerity. God is not looking for empty
- 1:15religious performance. While our words tear people
- 1:18down, He wants hearts that are upright, mouths that speak
- 1:21wisdom, and lives that shine with love.
- 1:24Think about your conversations lately, your texts, your posts,
- 1:27your comments, your tone at home.
- 1:30Are your words spreading knowledge, peace, and
- 1:33encouragement, or are they feeding drama, negativity, and
- 1:36division? You do not have to speak
- 1:38perfectly, but you can surrender your speech to God.
- 1:42You can ask Him to make your words more thoughtful.
- 1:44You can choose prayer over performance and unity over
- 1:47conflict. In a world full of noise, a wise
- 1:50and gracious voice stands out. Let your words build.
- 1:54Let your prayers be sincere. Let your life shine in a way
- 1:57that honors the God who hears you.
- 1:59Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
- 2:02hearing my prayers and caring about my words.
- 2:05Help me speak with wisdom, encouragement, and grace.
- 2:08Keep me from division, gossip, and empty performance.
- 2:12Teach me to live in harmony with others and to honor You and what
- 2:15I say, how I pray and how I love in Jesus name, Amen.
- 2:22What if you could rise up and declare with full spiritual
- 2:25authority, I shall not die but live Death Defeated is a
- 2:29powerful five book prayer series for believers who are ready to
- 2:33confront premature death, break demonic cycles, and enforce
- 2:36God's covenant of life over their destiny and household.
- 2:39Book 1, Deliverance from Death, breaks chains of premature death
- 2:43and generational attacks. Book 2, Destruction of Death's
- 2:46Devices exposes hidden traps and dismantles the enemy schemes.
- 2:50Book three, Divine defense against Death, activates
- 2:53supernatural protection and divine preservation.
- 2:56Book 4, Disarming the Destroyer overthrows deadly assaults and
- 3:00silences the spirit of destruction.

- 3:05authority, victorious living, and destiny fulfillment in

- 3:20Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
- 3:23Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 15 verses 7 to
- 3:289 World English Bible. The lips of the wise spread
- 3:32knowledge. Not so with the heart of fools.
- 3:35The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but
- 3:39the prayer of the upright is His delight.
- 3:42The way of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but he
- 3:45loves him who follows after righteousness.
- 3:48Romans, chapters 15 to 16, World English Bible.
- 3:53Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak,
- 3:56and not to please ourselves. Let each one of us please his
- 3:59neighbor for that which is good to be building him up.
- 4:03For even Christ didn't please himself.
- 4:06But as it is written, the reproaches of those who
- 4:09reproached you fell on me. For whatever things were written
- 4:12before, were written for our learning, that through
- 4:15perseverance and through encouragement of the Scriptures
- 4:18we might have hope. Now the God of perseverance and
- 4:22of encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one
- 4:25another, according to Christ Jesus, that with 1 accord you
- 4:30may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
- 4:33Christ. Therefore accept one another,
- 4:37even as Christ also accepted you, to the glory of God.
- 4:41Now I say that Christ has been made a servant of the
- 4:44circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the
- 4:47promises given to the Father's, and that the Gentiles might
- 4:50glorify God for His mercy as it is written.
- 4:54Therefore I will give praise to you among the Gentiles, and sing
- 4:57to your name. Again he says, Rejoice you
- 5:00Gentiles, with his people. Again, praise the Lord, all you
- 5:04Gentiles, let all the peoples praise him.
- 5:08Again, Isaiah says there will be the root of Jesse, he who arises
- 5:12to rule over the Gentiles. In him the Gentiles will hope.
- 5:17Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace, and
- 5:20believing that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy
- 5:23Spirit. I myself am also persuaded about
- 5:27you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness,
- 5:30filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others.
- 5:35But I write the more boldly to you in part as reminding you,
- 5:39because of the grace that was given to me by God, that I
- 5:42should be a servant of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, serving
- 5:46as a priest of the good news of God, that the offering up of the
- 5:49Gentiles might be made acceptable, sanctified by the
- 5:52Holy Spirit. I have therefore my boasting in
- 5:56Christ Jesus in things pertaining to God, for I will
- 6:00not dare to speak of any things except those which Christ worked
- 6:03through me for the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed,
- 6:07in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of God's
- 6:11Spirit. So that from Jerusalem and
- 6:13around, as far as to Illyricum, I have fully preached the good
- 6:16news of Christ. Yes, making it my aim to preach
- 6:19the good news, not where Christ was already named, that I might
- 6:24not build on another's foundation, but as it is
- 6:27written. They will see to whom no news of
- 6:30Him came. They who haven't heard will
- 6:32understand. Therefore also I was hindered
- 6:35these many times from coming to you, but now no longer having
- 6:39any place in these regions and having these many years of
- 6:43longing to come to you, whenever I travel to Spain, I will come
- 6:47to you. For I hope to see you on my
- 6:49journey and to be helped on my way there by you.
- 6:52If first I may enjoy your company for a while, but now I
- 6:56say I am going to Jerusalem, serving the Saints.
- 7:00For it has been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaea
- 7:03to make a certain contribution for the poor among the Saints
- 7:06who are at Jerusalem. Yes, it has been their good
- 7:10pleasure, and they are their debtors.
- 7:12For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their
- 7:15spiritual things, they owe it to them also to serve them in
- 7:18material things. When, therefore, I have
- 7:21accomplished this and have sealed to them this fruit, I
- 7:24will go on by way of you to Spain.
- 7:27I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of the
- 7:30blessing of the good news of Christ.
- 7:33Now I beg you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the
- 7:37love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your
- 7:40prayers to God for me, that I may be delivered from those who
- 7:44are disobedient in Judea, and that my service which I have for
- 7:47Jerusalem may be acceptable to the Saints, that I may come to
- 7:51you in joy through the will of God, and together with you find
- 7:56rest. Now the God of peace be with you
- 7:58all, Amen. I commend to you Phoebe, our
- 8:02sister, who is a servant of the assembly that is at sanctuary,
- 8:06that you receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the Saints,
- 8:10and that you assist her in whatever matter she may need
- 8:12from you. For she herself also has been a
- 8:15helper of many and of my own self.
- 8:18Greet Priska and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,
- 8:22who risk their own necks for my life, to whom not only I give
- 8:26thanks, but also all the assemblies of the Gentiles.
- 8:30Greet the assembly that is in their house.
- 8:32Greet Epinetus, my beloved, who is the first fruits of Achaea to
- 8:36Christ. Greet Mary, who labored much for
- 8:38us. Greet Andronicus and Junia, my
- 8:42relatives and my fellow prisoners, who are notable among
- 8:45the apostles who are also in Christ before me.
- 8:48Greet Amplyas my beloved in the Lord.
- 8:51Greet urbanists, our fellow worker in Christ and stashes, my
- 8:55beloved. Greet Apels, the approved in
- 8:57Christ. Greet those who are of the
- 8:59household of Aristobulus. Greet Herodian, my kinsman.
- 9:04Greet them of the household of Narcissus, who are in the Lord.
- 9:08Greet Trifina and Trifosa, who labor in the Lord.
- 9:11Greet persists the beloved who labored much in the Lord.
- 9:15Greet Rufus, the chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine.
- 9:19Greet asynchronous Phlegon, Hermes, Petrobas, Hermes, and
- 9:22the brothers who are with them. Greet Phyllagus and Julia,
- 9:26Nerius and his sister, and Olympus and all the Saints who
- 9:29are with them. Greet one another with a holy
- 9:32kiss. The assemblies of Christ greet
- 9:34you. Now I beg you, brothers, look
- 9:38out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of
- 9:40stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and
- 9:44turn away from them. For those who are such don't
- 9:47serve our Lord Jesus Christ but their own belly, and by their
- 9:51smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the
- 9:54innocent. For your obedience has become
- 9:57known to all. I rejoice therefore over you,
- 10:00but I desire to have you wise in that which is good, but innocent
- 10:04in that which is evil. And the God of peace will
- 10:07quickly crush Satan under your feet.
- 10:09The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
- 10:12Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you as De Lucius, Jason
- 10:16and Saucipater, my relatives. I, Tertius, who write the
- 10:20letter, greet you in the Lord. Gaius, my host and host of the
- 10:24whole assembly, greets you. Erastus, the treasurer of the
- 10:27city, greets you, as does Quartus the brother.
- 10:31The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
- 10:33Amen. Thanks for joining us on Bible
