- 0:08Speaker 2: The World's a Vegetal podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Mike Rabel had his opening press conference with the national media.
- 0:22Speaker 3: He does love himself some Karenregian.
- 0:25Speaker 4: He does you know Zoel was in particular, you know, gushing.
- 0:28Speaker 3: He was gushing. That's a change I think throughout sports
- 0:32Speaker 3: a little bit more work life balance.
- 0:35Speaker 5: Yeah, how do you feel about that?
- 0:36Speaker 3: I hate it. I'm coming to the end, Paul, and
- 0:39Speaker 3: what are they going to do? Fire me now? His suggestion,
- 0:44Speaker 3: can you please stop letting Evan Wlizaar speak about anything
- 0:48Speaker 3: other than football? Maybe someone should tell him to sit
- 0:50Speaker 3: out the non football talk moving forward to avoid continuing
- 0:54Speaker 3: to embarrass himself and frustrate the audience. I love what
- 0:58Speaker 3: he adds to the draft talk, though he is no
- 1:00Speaker 3: bar Oh wow, he's the Elaine Bennis of the show
- 1:05Speaker 3: as a feminine, slightly annoying side character. Wo wow. That
- 1:09Speaker 3: might be an email of the week with.
- 1:12Speaker 4: The circulation numbers were for the newspaper.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Was asking this is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official
- 1:19Speaker 3: website for deals buy a Toyota dot com. All right,
- 1:25Speaker 3: welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here at Jills Stadium.
- 1:29Speaker 3: The combine goes on. It's Alex, it's Paul, it's me.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Evan and Duce are at the combine. Will they be
- 1:36Speaker 3: calling in Matt, Yes, yes, they will be at some
- 1:39Speaker 3: point to that.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I want to find out if he one of them
- 1:41Speaker 4: have been involved in any altercations of anything.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Well, did you hear about that? They'll be joining us
- 1:45Speaker 3: around one to fifteen? Uh?
- 1:47Speaker 4: Have I heard of it?
- 1:50Speaker 3: Poor little Ian rappaport in Jordan Schultz?
- 1:54Speaker 4: Is that his name, Jordan Schultz?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't know that he was the son of oh, yeah,
- 1:59Speaker 3: somebody big.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, correct, yeah, CEO.
- 2:05Speaker 4: But and is that.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Where the altercation happened? At a star at a Starbucks.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Isn't that interesting?
- 2:10Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yeah, But this Jordan Schultz is like a social media.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Works for Fox. I believe. I think he's a real person. Yes,
- 2:20Speaker 4: he's a real person. He's got an altercation with you
- 2:23Speaker 4: and I know, But yeah, I think he is sort
- 2:26Speaker 4: of working his way into that national media picture. Yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 4: I don't know a whole lot about him other than
- 2:35Speaker 4: what Alex said.
- 2:35Speaker 3: He wants to be like a shifter, right, I think so, yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 3: I think so.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Not a lot of people. I think he's trying to
- 2:41Speaker 5: play it under the radar. Who his dad is too,
- 2:43Speaker 5: I'm sure, but I'm pretty sure, pretty confident that their home,
- 2:48Speaker 5: I don't know if it's out in California had like
- 2:52Speaker 5: a basketball court that was modeled like the Staples Center
- 2:55Speaker 5: or the former Staples Center. So I think that's how
- 2:58Speaker 5: he got in with a lot of athletes because it
- 2:59Speaker 5: was like a flex to go to how old?
- 3:02Speaker 3: Because when I hear the name Jordan Schultz, my image
- 3:05Speaker 3: is a guy who was about fifty eight years old. Heavy, Yeah, right,
- 3:11Speaker 3: So he sounds like he's young, probably like that, I
- 3:13Speaker 3: would say, a.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Little older than me, mid thirties, wife, kids.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Okay, oh he's got a wife and kids.
- 3:19Speaker 5: A wife and kids.
- 3:20Speaker 4: I didn't think you would be even that old.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yeah. So anyway, it all started with Tom Brady because
- 3:27Speaker 3: it ties everything comes back to the Patriots. So it
- 3:30Speaker 3: was just it was a report that Jordan Schultz started
- 3:35Speaker 3: that Tom Brady ran into.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Schultz reported that he met with Matthew Staffs well, Rappaport
- 3:43Speaker 4: said it was yeah, he happened.
- 3:44Speaker 3: So anyway, they were at the same place skiing, and
- 3:48Speaker 3: Jordan Schultz said that they met and hung out, and
- 3:52Speaker 3: Rappaport came out and said, that's nonsense. They just had
- 3:56Speaker 3: an interaction. They just happened to be at the same place,
- 3:59Speaker 3: nothing more than that. And Jordan Schultz took offense at
- 4:03Speaker 3: that and confronted him at a Starbucks and said, we
- 4:07Speaker 3: need to talk. And this is I'm again, this is
- 4:09Speaker 3: all what I'm reading. He said, we need to talk,
- 4:11Speaker 3: and wrap report says no, we don't. We have nothing
- 4:13Speaker 3: to talk about, and you know, and.
- 4:16Speaker 4: He ran and got security.
- 4:17Speaker 3: It got really close. He got security report and he
- 4:21Speaker 3: got really close and Rapport said you need to step
- 4:24Speaker 3: back a little bit, and he reported it to security
- 4:28Speaker 3: because it had the potential of being a physical altercation.
- 4:33Speaker 3: So but people love the media and media.
- 4:36Speaker 6: Stuff hilarious security, I think that is the underlying the
- 4:46Speaker 6: whole thing.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Was Jordan Schultz going to physically fight.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Well, he did say that. He said, we're going to
- 4:52Speaker 3: have a problem.
- 4:53Speaker 5: But that's not like I'm going to punch you.
- 4:55Speaker 3: In a dropped by Schultz, he said he did he
- 4:59Speaker 3: says he didn't. Yeah, the article Hummery didn't have the
- 5:02Speaker 3: part involved.
- 5:02Speaker 4: I'm sure there were a lot of way that's the
- 5:04Speaker 4: only part, but that's the only part of the story,
- 5:06Speaker 4: he disputes. He says he didn't use all.
- 5:08Speaker 3: So the question is, was Evan or Deuce in the area?
- 5:12Speaker 4: Well, that's happened, right, which is why I used that, right,
- 5:15Speaker 4: find out what they've been involved in, who they've been fighting.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm kind of team Schultz.
- 5:19Speaker 4: I think I'm so in the story. Whose side are
- 5:24Speaker 4: you taking? Like, is it at all plausible to you
- 5:27Speaker 4: that Matthew Stafford happened to bump into Tom Brady completely
- 5:32Speaker 4: coincidental in Montana?
- 5:34Speaker 3: Yes, I think that. I think as many of these
- 5:36Speaker 3: things happened, I think there's I think there's this side,
- 5:39Speaker 3: this side, and then there's the truth. And I think
- 5:42Speaker 3: that there's a little bit of truth in everything. I
- 5:44Speaker 3: think that this this ski resort is high up there.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I think there is.
- 5:49Speaker 3: A chance that a guy like Tom Brady and Matthew
- 5:52Speaker 3: Stafford would be in the same place like that. And
- 5:56Speaker 3: the question is let's say that that just let's say
- 5:58Speaker 3: you're buying that once they did bump into each other.
- 6:02Speaker 3: How much time did they spend? And did Brady look
- 6:05Speaker 3: at at that as an opportunity to do a little recruiting?
- 6:10Speaker 3: That's the thing. So so the fact that here's the thing,
- 6:15Speaker 3: the fact that Schultz's thing comes out and then Rapaport's
- 6:18Speaker 3: so quick to come out with the rebuttal means that
- 6:22Speaker 3: somebody said knew that that would be a violation. We
- 6:26Speaker 3: got to set this straight. Let's hurd a Rapaport. Why
- 6:29Speaker 3: not go to Schultz and straighten it.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Out because the bigger platform.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Or Schultz knows what really happened, and there's no sense
- 6:37Speaker 3: in doing that.
- 6:38Speaker 4: It's probably something probably something like that. I you agree, Freddy, but.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Why Tom Brady should not be doing what he's doing.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Either you come to the patriots or to be ok.
- 6:51Speaker 3: But don't do that. You're going to get yourself in
- 6:53Speaker 3: trouble because if it is true that he spent more
- 6:56Speaker 3: than just a hey, how you doing? You know, see
- 6:58Speaker 3: you later, that's a violation. That's a tampering violation. But
- 7:06Speaker 3: you know, again, they'll never prove it.
- 7:08Speaker 4: And now that they've given him permission anyway, you could
- 7:12Speaker 4: make an argument, you know whatever, But I think it
- 7:14Speaker 4: was orchestrated. I think that they had planned to meet there.
- 7:18Speaker 4: It's too much of a coincidence to me that have
- 7:21Speaker 4: he bumped into a guy whose team just gave him
- 7:24Speaker 4: permission to seek a trade.
- 7:25Speaker 3: So that this happened after they gave him permission.
- 7:29Speaker 4: No, I'm just saying they've given him permission, and whenever
- 7:31Speaker 4: it happened, it makes a big deal. No, But I'm
- 7:34Speaker 4: saying it's a guy who is out there. Like I'm
- 7:36Speaker 4: not saying whether or not it's a violation, Okay, Like
- 7:39Speaker 4: I'm not here. I don't really care about tampering. To me,
- 7:42Speaker 4: it should be allowed. I don't really understand why they
- 7:44Speaker 4: have to all be treated like children. You can't talk
- 7:46Speaker 4: to him, No, you go in the corner, you can't talk.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I don't want people screwing with my players.
- 7:52Speaker 4: But that whole thing is irrelevant to me. If you
- 7:55Speaker 4: want to find the Raiders, find the Raiders, I don't
- 7:58Speaker 4: you know, I don't care. But it's too like I
- 8:02Speaker 4: am team Schultz because I think that it's unrealistic for
- 8:07Speaker 4: this whole and I'm not telling you it never happens.
- 8:10Speaker 4: I think there's even a story that when Matthew Stafford
- 8:13Speaker 4: originally got traded to the Rams. He bumped into Sean
- 8:17Speaker 4: McVay and Cabo that's true something like that. I'm not
- 8:20Speaker 4: telling you it's impossible to have a chance meeting. To
- 8:23Speaker 4: Alex's point, this is what rich people do in vacation.
- 8:26Speaker 5: And maybe they did bump into each other, but Tom's
- 8:29Speaker 5: not going to say, hey, I have a beautiful home here,
- 8:31Speaker 5: come check it out, like come hang.
- 8:33Speaker 4: I just don't think that it was an innocent meeting
- 8:36Speaker 4: the way Rappaport tried to No, I think working for
- 8:40Speaker 4: the NFL.
- 8:43Speaker 5: To his sources, they probably wanted the narrative fix to
- 8:46Speaker 5: avoid any penalty. And Schultz is the son of a
- 8:48Speaker 5: billionaire and he's not beholden to anyone. He can say
- 8:50Speaker 5: whatever is.
- 8:51Speaker 4: The fact that he has that kind of juice, says No,
- 8:54Speaker 4: I'm not just going to back down.
- 8:56Speaker 3: So this this isn't over yet, right, would you say
- 8:58Speaker 3: this has.
- 8:59Speaker 4: A leg you might get round to with dunks to that.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Just has legs, as they say in the media.
- 9:05Speaker 4: I mean that's what you have to do. That's why
- 9:07Speaker 4: they were at Starbucks. So you can't actually have a
- 9:09Speaker 4: physical confrontation. They got to go to dunks today.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Right, that's where that's where you throw.
- 9:14Speaker 5: Down all the security.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Yeah, the most that can happen. At Starbucks you might
- 9:21Speaker 3: get a croissant throw at you. But at duncan you
- 9:24Speaker 3: throw down? You throw down for sure. Yeah.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Right, So I'll be curious to see what with Mike
- 9:29Speaker 4: and Ev have to say today. Okay, all right, well
- 9:32Speaker 4: that's interesting. I mean, it's an interesting NFL story too,
- 9:37Speaker 4: like the Stafford thing. You know, the Raiders obviously, you
- 9:42Speaker 4: know interested, A lot of people have talked about the
- 9:43Speaker 4: Giants that you know this again back to the Patriots.
- 9:46Speaker 4: It could impact the Patriots, the Giants one of the
- 9:48Speaker 4: three teams that pick ahead of New England if they
- 9:51Speaker 4: were able to swing a deal for Stafford. I personally
- 9:55Speaker 4: think that Stafford is gonna end up staying with the Rams.
- 9:58Speaker 4: I think there's probably some negotiation going on here, and
- 10:02Speaker 4: they were, you know, the Patriots, Belichick did this occasional.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I think that some teams that are really needing a
- 10:10Speaker 3: quarterback might make an offer that McVeigh can't refuse. And
- 10:13Speaker 3: they've got Garoppolo in the wings.
- 10:17Speaker 4: The last part of that isn't meant to be serious,
- 10:19Speaker 4: is it? Like they want to be a contender, Like.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Maybe they look at this year as a bridge year.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Yeah, now they're going to go out and get like
- 10:28Speaker 4: if you want to tell me, they're going to get
- 10:29Speaker 4: Sam Donald. And McVeigh thinks that he's kind of like
- 10:32Speaker 4: in that Shanahan mode where it's me not the you know,
- 10:35Speaker 4: not the player. Yeah, I can make Donald. He just
- 10:38Speaker 4: did it with Kevin O'Connell. That's basically what I'm going to.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Do with him.
- 10:41Speaker 4: He's good enough to do that. I can. You can
- 10:43Speaker 4: sell me on you can't sell me on Garoppolo.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Okay, well anyway, but I think I think the Rams
- 10:49Speaker 3: have kind of made it clear that we need to
- 10:51Speaker 3: kind of build back up.
- 10:53Speaker 4: They have.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yeah, well they were.
- 10:55Speaker 4: They were eleven yards away from the NFC Championship, I know,
- 10:57Speaker 4: but they're the only team that gave the Eagles.
- 10:59Speaker 3: They Cold Cup. You know.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Yeah, because he's done. Okay, Stafford's not.
- 11:03Speaker 3: But I think, well, no, he's not done. He's not done.
- 11:06Speaker 3: But maybe they think they need to be aggressive in
- 11:09Speaker 3: terms of kind of building back up and if we
- 11:12Speaker 3: can get out King's ransom for this guy.
- 11:14Speaker 4: But they're not going to get a Kings ransom. They
- 11:16Speaker 4: don't want to pay him what he wants. He wants
- 11:18Speaker 4: to be paid like the front line guys. Yeah, at
- 11:20Speaker 4: fifty plus million. The numbers have changed.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Yep.
- 11:23Speaker 4: You know where guys like Trevor Lawrence are getting. You know,
- 11:26Speaker 4: Tua are getting fifty million and he's I think he's
- 11:29Speaker 4: getting thirty five.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Some other team might be willing to do that.
- 11:32Speaker 4: They might, Yeah, I think that they will then say, okay,
- 11:35Speaker 4: we'll give you the money. Yeah, that's what I think
- 11:38Speaker 4: they're doing. I think Belichick used to do this occasionally.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I know, you go out and see what you can get, and.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Then and then you go out and see what you
- 11:44Speaker 4: can get. Okay, yeah that's reasonable, we'll give it to you.
- 11:47Speaker 4: I don't think they want to give it to him,
- 11:48Speaker 4: but I think they will if they have to. Yeah,
- 11:51Speaker 4: that's my personal view of how they do that. They
- 11:54Speaker 4: did it with kind of they did it with Dante
- 11:56Speaker 4: stalwarth No, with Welker, they didn't really want him anymore. Really,
- 12:00Speaker 4: they franchised him and they were pissed the year before
- 12:01Speaker 4: that he signed it because they didn't want him to
- 12:04Speaker 4: sign it. They wanted him to go. Then they wanted
- 12:06Speaker 4: to trade him.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I thought, I remember that they told him me, I'll
- 12:13Speaker 3: go out and see what you can get. And they
- 12:17Speaker 3: were a little pissed that he didn't come back to them.
- 12:18Speaker 3: He just went to Denver, give me a chance.
- 12:22Speaker 4: They said that they offered him the same, but they didn't.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I want to say, it was like two years, twelve
- 12:28Speaker 4: million or something like that, and claimed it was the same,
- 12:31Speaker 4: but it was not the same.
- 12:32Speaker 3: So I think this is relatively big news coming out
- 12:35Speaker 3: of the combine, this whole Obdual Carter thing. Now he's
- 12:38Speaker 3: got an issue with his shoulder but also his foot,
- 12:41Speaker 3: and he's contemplating some type of surgery right now, and
- 12:46Speaker 3: that could drop him down a little bit, if you know,
- 12:49Speaker 3: if he's not ready right away. Yeah.
- 12:51Speaker 4: I mean, like I say this all the time, I
- 12:53Speaker 4: never underestimate the stupidity of NFL people. If that would
- 12:57Speaker 4: drop him down where he's not going to be. He's
- 13:00Speaker 4: gonna have surgery and be ready for OTAs and that's
- 13:03Speaker 4: going to drop him.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Oh is that what they're saying. Oh, I didn't hear that.
- 13:06Speaker 4: That's you're right, No, you just you explain the whole
- 13:09Speaker 4: story exactly the way it is. The people think that
- 13:11Speaker 4: he's not I think even the odds. The draft dods
- 13:15Speaker 4: have changed. I think he was he had the I
- 13:18Speaker 4: think he had the best odds, and now he doesn't
- 13:21Speaker 4: to go number one.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Overall, like if someone was when I heard the store.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Him number one overall and they're not going to take
- 13:26Speaker 4: him because he has a stretch raker in his foot
- 13:28Speaker 4: and he might miss two months, you know, heading into
- 13:31Speaker 4: you know, his rookie season.
- 13:32Speaker 3: That's when I heard this story. They didn't mention like
- 13:37Speaker 3: how serious. You know, there's a difference between to me,
- 13:40Speaker 3: surgery and a procedure. Like a procedure is something you.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Go to a certain age. You'll have a procedure.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you go in for a day and then you're
- 13:48Speaker 3: it's day surgery, you know. Like a surgery to me
- 13:51Speaker 3: is they put you under and you just have to
- 13:53Speaker 3: stay a day or two or whatever and there's a
- 13:56Speaker 3: longer rehab afterwards. If this is like you said, oh,
- 14:00Speaker 3: he could be ready for OTAs or it's.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Been explained to me, Yeah, that is that if he
- 14:06Speaker 4: has the surgery, it's not expected to impact his season.
- 14:10Speaker 4: It will impact his off season, but it won't impact
- 14:13Speaker 4: like he should be ready to go for training camp
- 14:15Speaker 4: and all that.
- 14:16Speaker 3: I mean if that drops him the fourth take him.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Now, wrap Aport Back to Wrappaport, I don't know if
- 14:22Speaker 4: this is, you know, true, his his mouthpiece, of his
- 14:26Speaker 4: NFL security mouthpiece says this or just from him, but
- 14:30Speaker 4: he says that the word from the Carter camp is
- 14:33Speaker 4: that he's not going to have surgery. He's going to
- 14:36Speaker 4: opt to go through it. I'd be more worried about that,
- 14:39Speaker 4: to be honest with you. Get it taken the surgery,
- 14:42Speaker 4: get it taken care of him.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Yeah, then first week of the season.
- 14:46Speaker 4: But he says that's it's not it's not painful at
- 14:49Speaker 4: all to him. And I don't know, maybe it was
- 14:51Speaker 4: detected and it's something that could lead to something a
- 14:55Speaker 4: stress stress fracture, which are hard to I guess how
- 15:00Speaker 4: to diagnose and how to identify if you're not looking
- 15:03Speaker 4: for it.
- 15:04Speaker 3: You know, it's a hairline type of thing.
- 15:06Speaker 4: So the fact that he says he claims he has
- 15:09Speaker 4: no symptoms, that would kind of worry me. Yeah, but yeah,
- 15:13Speaker 4: it could impact his draft spot.
- 15:14Speaker 3: And he's got a shoulder thing that now.
- 15:16Speaker 4: That that happened, that happened during the season, right, there's
- 15:19Speaker 4: a lot of guys dealing I think your boy, Mason
- 15:22Speaker 4: Graham's dealing with stuff.
- 15:23Speaker 3: He's only going to do bench press.
- 15:24Speaker 4: They say, yeah, so you think of him yesterday he
- 15:28Speaker 4: was at the podium yesterday.
- 15:30Speaker 3: I did not hear that.
- 15:33Speaker 4: I don't know. It's probably just because I'm one hundred
- 15:35Speaker 4: years old now, Alex, they look like babies.
- 15:39Speaker 5: They are babies.
- 15:41Speaker 4: They're just like, he looks like a high school kill.
- 15:44Speaker 4: You know, let's get the curly hair, curly hair like
- 15:46Speaker 4: kind of looked a little like ye like has a
- 15:49Speaker 4: pudgy high school weight on him, Like did he still
- 15:51Speaker 4: have his EyeBlack on? But yeah, he was unimposing, let's
- 15:56Speaker 4: put it that way. For a guy who's going and
- 15:58Speaker 4: going to be a top.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Five posing like that didn't look you know, no, they.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Say, see it's it's little Andy hard issue of me.
- 16:07Speaker 4: Like Andy used to just Andy famously we would go
- 16:09Speaker 4: to the combine, the two of us, and he would
- 16:11Speaker 4: just look at a guy at the podium, agalin, no,
- 16:14Speaker 4: I'm out on him, including Patrick Mahomes by the way.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Well you know, he had like his backpack on and
- 16:21Speaker 4: like he looks like a little kid like that, I'm out,
- 16:24Speaker 4: I'm out like now. Sometimes he would he ended up
- 16:26Speaker 4: being right, but that was the famous one. Patrick Mahmes.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I've heard solely on the eyeball test.
- 16:32Speaker 3: I've heard Mason anywhere from six three to six two.
- 16:34Speaker 3: I think he's on the lower side. I think he's
- 16:38Speaker 3: going to come in at six two or so because
- 16:40Speaker 3: he doesn't look like.
- 16:42Speaker 4: That's not a bad thing. No, they don't want a
- 16:44Speaker 4: really tall interior defensive lineman.
- 16:46Speaker 3: It's not. And he's like three twenty five. Yeah, I
- 16:48Speaker 3: think he's well. I I like the guy. I think
- 16:52Speaker 3: he I mean I would production is. Yeah, I wouldn't
- 16:55Speaker 3: be excellent bent out of shape if they picked him
- 16:57Speaker 3: at four.
- 16:58Speaker 4: I wouldn't. I wouldn't either, and us that dual.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Card is available. Yeah, yeah, which he shouldn't be. But
- 17:04Speaker 3: we'll see, we'll see what.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I think he's very much in play for the Patriots
- 17:07Speaker 4: at four. Mason Graham. Yeah, you know, we had an
- 17:10Speaker 4: email or that I think Astutey pointed out Mike Reeves
- 17:14Speaker 4: had a lot about Mason Graham and his Sunday notes
- 17:20Speaker 4: a lot of times. You know, Mike is tapped in. Yeah,
- 17:24Speaker 4: I think he's as connected as anybody who covers this team.
- 17:27Speaker 4: So I don't just dismiss that he spent, you know,
- 17:30Speaker 4: a significant amount of his notes on Mason Graham. I
- 17:33Speaker 4: think he's very much in play at four. Yeah, he's
- 17:37Speaker 4: one of your envelope guys. Right, you should be happy.
- 17:39Speaker 3: No, he doesn't qualify as a back envelope. He's too good.
- 17:42Speaker 3: He's too good, he's too obvious. It's like, well, yeah,
- 17:45Speaker 3: friend's putting Mason Graham in the back of his envelope.
- 17:47Speaker 5: Okay, he's in like a real notebook.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he's like everyone should have him on
- 17:52Speaker 3: their list. These are guys that dig a little deeper,
- 17:56Speaker 3: dig a little deeper, you do some mining and you
- 17:59Speaker 3: find those jewels in the mind. Yeah, but I haven't
- 18:04Speaker 3: got my books yet, so I can't really start. All right,
- 18:10Speaker 3: what else is coming out of the combine that we
- 18:12Speaker 3: need to talk about?
- 18:15Speaker 4: Combine?
- 18:15Speaker 5: But Godshaw, Yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 3: That's a good one, good one, Alex, Why don't you
- 18:20Speaker 3: tell people what you're like?
- 18:22Speaker 5: They've given Devon Godshaw permission to go seek seek out
- 18:25Speaker 5: a trade.
- 18:26Speaker 3: And that again is according to Ian Rappaport right, didn't
- 18:29Speaker 3: he was the first to leave with that. He's doing his.
- 18:32Speaker 5: Work, I guess so. Feeling the heat from Schultz.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Yeah, security details for him.
- 18:37Speaker 5: I can't believe the security thing.
- 18:39Speaker 3: He's Maybe Albert Brier can confront him about this report.
- 18:43Speaker 3: And I was the first one to but uh, poor Ian.
- 18:47Speaker 5: They should sell tickets to a boxing.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Match, sure, and just have the media for charity fight
- 18:52Speaker 3: each other. Yeah.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Yeah, people would tune into that.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Oh absolutely, So we can spend uh can we spend
- 18:59Speaker 4: fifteen second patting ourselves on the back?
- 19:01Speaker 3: Oh what do we do? Good?
- 19:03Speaker 4: Just like you and I, Mike, you know, And we
- 19:08Speaker 4: were talking a lot about when since Rabel came came in,
- 19:11Speaker 4: there are going to be players that you're not necessarily
- 19:14Speaker 4: expecting that will not be part of the future. And
- 19:20Speaker 4: there's a veteran defensive lineman who has been given permission
- 19:24Speaker 4: to seek a trade like this is the example of
- 19:27Speaker 4: the guys that I'm talking of.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Rabel said it the other day. This roster is going
- 19:32Speaker 3: to look a lot lot different at the end of
- 19:34Speaker 3: August than it does right now. So that's telling you
- 19:37Speaker 3: right right there. And we talked about it last show
- 19:39Speaker 3: that no one should feel that comfortable unless you're like
- 19:43Speaker 3: Drake may or you know of that ILK.
- 19:46Speaker 4: It's not just you know the guys that you think
- 19:48Speaker 4: you know that you know, like seonly Taki, Taki is
- 19:51Speaker 4: not going to be the only guy who was on
- 19:53Speaker 4: the contract. That is just going to be you know,
- 19:55Speaker 4: let go. Now. There's a lot of speculation that Godshaw,
- 20:01Speaker 4: like his style is a two gap sort of run stuffer,
- 20:05Speaker 4: is not going to be conducive to what they want
- 20:07Speaker 4: to do with Terrell Williams. Yep, you know they want
- 20:09Speaker 4: to be more penetrating and get upfield. That might be.
- 20:12Speaker 4: That might be true. I think it's more than that.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I do too.
- 20:15Speaker 4: I think it's you know, the sort of veteran guy
- 20:18Speaker 4: probably won't be part of the next really good team,
- 20:21Speaker 4: pretty outspoken.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I was going to say that. He's also someone
- 20:25Speaker 5: who seems like the last couple of off seasons asking
- 20:28Speaker 5: for more money, restructuring contracts. I wonder if that was
- 20:32Speaker 5: a situation here where he came to them and they
- 20:34Speaker 5: were like, it's not going to happen here, but you're
- 20:36Speaker 5: welcome to go seek out a trade.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Yeah, because it wasn't it two seasons in a row
- 20:41Speaker 3: that they gave him a bump, I believe so.
- 20:43Speaker 4: I think they did.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I think this was the second last year was
- 20:46Speaker 3: the second season I know they.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Did last season. Then I remember I feel like something
- 20:50Speaker 5: when Bill was here too, because Bill had those comments
- 20:53Speaker 5: about how he was what we do.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Best offensive lineman in the league. And I would also
- 20:58Speaker 4: just look at the amount of times we heard from
- 21:01Speaker 4: him in a pretty blunt fashion last year, like I
- 21:06Speaker 4: wonder if Elliott Wolf was like this guy. He didn't really,
- 21:10Speaker 4: he didn't do that much off the field to help
- 21:13Speaker 4: off the field. I think he was fine on the field.
- 21:15Speaker 4: I mean, they couldn't stop the run, but I don't
- 21:17Speaker 4: necessarily blame Godshaw for the fact that they struggled stopping
- 21:21Speaker 4: their arm. I think he was reasonably good in his role,
- 21:23Speaker 4: but it's not necessarily a difference making player. He was
- 21:27Speaker 4: often critical of either the coaching or the play within
- 21:34Speaker 4: the coaching maybe it wasn't conducive yet personnel.
- 21:37Speaker 5: But then would defend coaching at the same time when
- 21:39Speaker 5: the year was done. So it was like, Yeah, is.
- 21:43Speaker 3: The media in your shows making too much of who's
- 21:47Speaker 3: in charge for the Patriots.
- 21:51Speaker 4: I don't really know, because I think it's there's a
- 21:55Speaker 4: lot of speculation, you know when Elliott talked, because Elliott
- 21:58Speaker 4: Wolf spoke yesterday and he said nothing has changed, you know,
- 22:04Speaker 4: because he had the thing contractually that he had the
- 22:06Speaker 4: final say, but saying that he went to great lengths
- 22:09Speaker 4: to explain how it's not going to be Mike's guys,
- 22:12Speaker 4: it's not gonna be Elliott's guys, that they're going to
- 22:13Speaker 4: be Patriots guys and we're going to be together.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Well to me with Rabel saying, I wouldn't have come
- 22:18Speaker 3: here unless I was comfortable in the input that I'll
- 22:22Speaker 3: have in the roster. That's all you need to know.
- 22:25Speaker 3: He's okay with it, whateah, the job, Yeah, whatever they've
- 22:29Speaker 3: set up, Rabel's okay with it, and that could mean
- 22:32Speaker 3: that he's ultimately in charge. Like you can interpret that
- 22:35Speaker 3: any way you want, but as long as he's okay
- 22:38Speaker 3: with it, then like, let's not worry about it yet.
- 22:41Speaker 4: So I would just yeah, I mean, it's not necessarily
- 22:43Speaker 4: a worry. It's it's like, who do you think has
- 22:46Speaker 4: the final say? And I would argue, I think it's Mike.
- 22:50Speaker 4: I think Rabel has the final.
- 22:51Speaker 3: And Wolfe said, you know, nobody pushes no team. Well,
- 22:57Speaker 3: he's being general and maybe he's not one hundred percent,
- 23:00Speaker 3: but he said, no team pushes players on a coach
- 23:02Speaker 3: that they don't want.
- 23:03Speaker 5: Right, Like in Moneyball when he's like, don't start this guy.
- 23:06Speaker 5: You can't start him. I just traded him. Like it's
- 23:08Speaker 5: I don't think it's like that.
- 23:10Speaker 3: I mean, boy, there might be some places where that
- 23:13Speaker 3: actually has happened. I know. You know, we've heard about
- 23:16Speaker 3: situations where there's a disconnect between the coach and the
- 23:19Speaker 3: GM and it causes somebody to eventually leave one or
- 23:24Speaker 3: the other. But so I don't think that's one hundred
- 23:27Speaker 3: percent accurate all the time, but generally you have to
- 23:30Speaker 3: be on the same page.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Like if we take it back to the number four pick,
- 23:35Speaker 4: if Mike Grabel says, under no circumstances, do I want
- 23:39Speaker 4: Mason Graham, Yep, there's no way that Elliott Wolf is
- 23:44Speaker 4: saying no, no, no, no, Mason Graham's guy. If it's the
- 23:47Speaker 4: other way around.
- 23:48Speaker 3: I could see it, right. I could too.
- 23:50Speaker 4: If Mike Grabel says I want Mason Graham and Elliott
- 23:53Speaker 4: Wolf says no, no, no, no, he's not the right guy,
- 23:55Speaker 4: I could still see them taking Mason Graham.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Yep, because probably Rabel's gonna have Terrell Williams on his side.
- 24:03Speaker 3: They've spoken about.
- 24:04Speaker 4: It, and you're missing a guy in the personnel.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Department, Matt grow not only kidding.
- 24:09Speaker 4: I know Ryan and Cowt like I think, yeah, you
- 24:12Speaker 4: know that's your tie breaker. Now it's two on one ye, right,
- 24:16Speaker 4: And there's a reason that Mike wanted to bring that
- 24:19Speaker 4: guy in. So speaking of the personnel department, they did
- 24:23Speaker 4: lose a member.
- 24:24Speaker 7: Yeah, Patrick Stewart start.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Yeah, so he's going to the college.
- 24:28Speaker 4: The College's going to the College the Nebraska. Yeah.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Matt Ruhle.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Was in Carolina when Patrick Stewart was there, so there's
- 24:40Speaker 4: a connection. I think they went back to Temple even
- 24:44Speaker 4: those two. So there's a relationship between Stewart and Rule
- 24:48Speaker 4: and now he's gone with the corn Huskers. All right,
- 24:54Speaker 4: trying to think anything anything else, A little details. We
- 24:56Speaker 4: got a lot of like small little stories. The thing's happening,
- 25:00Speaker 4: setting the table, Yeah, heating up, set the table.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Off season, heating up workouts begin today at the Combine.
- 25:10Speaker 3: So who is it defensive lineman today?
- 25:14Speaker 4: I believe, I believe you're right. Yeah, And we won't
- 25:18Speaker 4: find out about Will Campbell's arms until the weekend.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Sunday, Yeah, Sunday morning. That's going to be like Grado
- 25:26Speaker 3: Rivera opening up Jimmy, if you had a capon.
- 25:30Speaker 4: I'm not telling you like I don't. I'm not Dante, Okay,
- 25:33Speaker 4: So I'm not telling you that he can or can't
- 25:35Speaker 4: play depending on the size of his arms. I'm leaving
- 25:38Speaker 4: that to the professionals.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Yeah, the ball knowers.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Right. If you had to say, do you think his
- 25:44Speaker 4: arms are the length that they they like them to be? Yes,
- 25:48Speaker 4: See I say no.
- 25:49Speaker 5: I don't think it would be a conversation like this
- 25:51Speaker 5: it was.
- 25:52Speaker 4: If his arms were long enough, we wouldn't be waiting
- 25:55Speaker 4: with Beata.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I think they're right there. I think they're probably right
- 25:57Speaker 3: at thirty three.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:59Speaker 5: My guess is they're not from a pull up bar
- 26:01Speaker 5: from somebody long Bobby Brady right before.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Yeah, Alex doesn't know Bobby Brady, Bunch three bunch. Yeah.
- 26:09Speaker 3: But like, like, I know, your show has gone at
- 26:12Speaker 3: length to talk about the length. But if he comes
- 26:15Speaker 3: in at thirty two and seven, a's I don't care.
- 26:17Speaker 3: What does he look like on tape?
- 26:20Speaker 4: Well, I mean I don't care either, Fred, But I
- 26:22Speaker 4: that's why I preface it with what I'm not. Dante. Yeah,
- 26:26Speaker 4: Dante and those people they do.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Care, ye, But I don't think it's eighth of an inch.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Well, I'm just telling you that's they think that that's
- 26:35Speaker 4: a big difference.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know an eighth of an inch.
- 26:41Speaker 4: I mean, do you think there's a big difference between
- 26:42Speaker 4: a guy who runs at four or five and a
- 26:44Speaker 4: four to six. Nope, yes there is, Nope, there is.
- 26:50Speaker 5: It's a little different though, because but it's long arms
- 26:53Speaker 5: but terrible grips.
- 26:54Speaker 3: No. I know they think it. I just don't like.
- 26:57Speaker 4: But I'm not the guy who's coaching them. Like, It's
- 26:59Speaker 4: not like I don't understand it as you absolutely put it.
- 27:02Speaker 4: I'm not a ball nower. Yeah, you know, they have
- 27:05Speaker 4: their reasons, but.
- 27:07Speaker 3: The intene I mean, I think I think it's part
- 27:09Speaker 3: of the puzzle that you're putting together. But if if
- 27:12Speaker 3: you're telling me that Jerry Rice shouldn't have been where
- 27:15Speaker 3: he was because he wasn't that fast, and your nuts.
- 27:18Speaker 3: I mean, there's guys that just have football speed and
- 27:21Speaker 3: there's guys who have flat out, you know, flat line speed,
- 27:25Speaker 3: And I'd rather take the football speed and the football
- 27:28Speaker 3: iq and all that other stuff than just the burn.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I mean, for years, the Raiders were famous for always
- 27:34Speaker 3: taking the fastest guy how did that work out for them?
- 27:37Speaker 4: They won a lot.
- 27:38Speaker 3: No, not when they were doing that. Not when they
- 27:40Speaker 3: were doing that, that was Cliff, Oh, this is I'm
- 27:43Speaker 3: talking about Jet and all those other guys after that.
- 27:46Speaker 5: Well, how did it work out for us when we
- 27:47Speaker 5: took taekwon?
- 27:48Speaker 3: Right?
- 27:49Speaker 4: Right?
- 27:50Speaker 3: Right? You know absolutely, that's a good example.
- 27:54Speaker 4: But you're making different observations.
- 27:57Speaker 3: I'm talking. I'm saying a tenth of a you know, well, it's.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Apples to oranges with the position groups too.
- 28:03Speaker 3: I think there's more to it than the forty yard dash.
- 28:06Speaker 4: But yes, is he good? Like when the Raiders took
- 28:10Speaker 4: The Raiders took a guy who wasn't very good, like
- 28:13Speaker 4: Darius Haywood Bay would be the example, right, and he's not.
- 28:16Speaker 3: He's not a good He fell in love with his speed.
- 28:18Speaker 4: But what if there's a guy who is good and
- 28:21Speaker 4: he has the speed for a guy who is good
- 28:23Speaker 4: and doesn't have.
- 28:23Speaker 3: To course, they take the guy who has the speed.
- 28:25Speaker 4: So don't say it doesn't matter.
- 28:26Speaker 3: I didn't say.
- 28:27Speaker 4: That's all I'm saying you creating.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Doesn't matter as much as maybe some other It matters
- 28:33Speaker 3: to other people today is how good is he? But
- 28:36Speaker 3: can he get open? And catch right.
- 28:38Speaker 4: But can he not do that well enough at the
- 28:43Speaker 4: NFL level because of the speed, because of the arm length?
- 28:46Speaker 4: Can he not protect us well?
- 28:47Speaker 3: But you don't get open in a forty yard dash anyway.
- 28:50Speaker 3: I want that shuttle. I want the shuttle drill. I
- 28:53Speaker 3: want the cone drill. Yeah.
- 28:55Speaker 5: Please, it's just hard to believe that there's a bunch
- 28:58Speaker 5: of scouts and personnel guys sitting around a table like
- 29:02Speaker 5: really sweating for this specific measurement. If it's off by
- 29:06Speaker 5: that much, I don't know.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Well, they have to come up with the things that
- 29:10Speaker 3: separate because so many of these guys are so close.
- 29:13Speaker 3: They're looking for those little things that Okay, this this
- 29:17Speaker 3: gives him the edge over the other guy. But to me,
- 29:23Speaker 3: edge good scouts that understand talent when they see it,
- 29:27Speaker 3: and they can figure out the projection from the college
- 29:30Speaker 3: game to the NFL game.
- 29:31Speaker 4: I agree. And if he and if Will Campbell ends
- 29:33Speaker 4: up getting taken in the top five, then that would
- 29:37Speaker 4: tell me that the scouts were comfortable with his play.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:40Speaker 4: If he doesn't, that would tell me that they think
- 29:43Speaker 4: he's probably going to be a guard. Yeah, and he's
- 29:46Speaker 4: going to drop a little bit yep. So, and I
- 29:49Speaker 4: don't know the answers to those.
- 29:51Speaker 3: I don't know it, but it's going to be an
- 29:53Speaker 3: interesting draft. I think that the top five is really
- 29:57Speaker 3: nobody knows at this point.
- 29:58Speaker 4: I mean, I think that it's it's Codder and Hunter
- 30:02Speaker 4: in the top five, and I don't think there are
- 30:05Speaker 4: really anything else else that's guaranteed.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Nope.
- 30:09Speaker 4: But as you keep saying, and I agree with you
- 30:11Speaker 4: one thousand percent, they are gonna be good players taken.
- 30:14Speaker 4: You just have to figure out which ones. Yeah, they're
- 30:16Speaker 4: better than the others.
- 30:18Speaker 3: All right, eight five five PATS five hundred phone line
- 30:21Speaker 3: is the TPX hotline until March first podcast at Patriots
- 30:26Speaker 3: dot com is the email. Let's just open it up
- 30:28Speaker 3: because a little later we're gonna have Evan Induce calling
- 30:32Speaker 3: in from the combine and all these questions they're gonna answer.
- 30:36Speaker 3: They're gonna have all the answers to all our questions
- 30:39Speaker 3: when they call it. So let's start on the phone line.
- 30:42Speaker 3: We'll go to Maryland. Ryan's there. What's up? Ryan? Ryan? Okay,
- 30:50Speaker 3: you can't hold on for twenty minutes? All right, Wow,
- 30:53Speaker 3: We'll go to Dylan in California. Dylan, what's up? Dyllen,
- 31:01Speaker 3: is it me? Okay, Dylan's Dylan, you're there? Okay, call back.
- 31:09Speaker 3: We'll go to Montana. Chris, were you there when the
- 31:12Speaker 3: infamous meeting happened? What's up? Chris down?
- 31:17Speaker 8: And I was not there, but I bet I can
- 31:21Speaker 8: guess where it took place and that it wasn't an
- 31:24Speaker 8: innocent meeting.
- 31:26Speaker 3: And why do you say that?
- 31:27Speaker 8: It's called the Yellowstone Club where all the rich guys
- 31:30Speaker 8: have houses, including Brady, and there's a private ski resort there,
- 31:34Speaker 8: so I'm sure that's where Brady hosted Stafford. But Stafford
- 31:37Speaker 8: doesn't just accidentally hand out end up there. You can't
- 31:40Speaker 8: possibly get in without one of the members getting you
- 31:44Speaker 8: onto the grounds, through all the security gates, all of
- 31:47Speaker 8: that stuff.
- 31:48Speaker 9: Okay, Interesting, this is my favorite part of what we
- 31:53Speaker 9: do because we've now taken it, like I can guarantee
- 31:58Speaker 9: you where we have no idea where the meeting was, Yeah,
- 32:00Speaker 9: but we now have it taking place at this private
- 32:03Speaker 9: club that you can't.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Get in right without knowing, do you know? And the
- 32:07Speaker 4: fact that Matthew Stafford in no way could possibly be
- 32:10Speaker 4: a member.
- 32:11Speaker 5: Well, this is like like we're talking a different tax
- 32:14Speaker 5: bracket than Stafford if if it's I have the right idea.
- 32:18Speaker 3: I don't think it's I don't think it's a different
- 32:21Speaker 3: I don't think tax bracket.
- 32:22Speaker 4: I don't think there are many tax brackets. Matthew Stafford
- 32:25Speaker 4: has been like really was.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Probably made about four hundred million dollars in his career.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Now, I don't know about Brady and everything Brady, but
- 32:33Speaker 4: Stafford does. All right, Chris, what were.
- 32:35Speaker 3: You going to say.
- 32:37Speaker 8: I was going to say, Alex is kind of right.
- 32:39Speaker 5: This is like, this is billionaire billionaire talking yeah, not millions.
- 32:44Speaker 8: So you have to like, you know, and this is
- 32:46Speaker 8: this is a little outdated now, but it's only gotten
- 32:48Speaker 8: more exclusive. But you know, initially, to like get a
- 32:51Speaker 8: place up there, you had to spend You had to
- 32:54Speaker 8: be able to spend at least like fifteen or twenty
- 32:57Speaker 8: million dollars on just the plot of land to buy
- 33:00Speaker 8: from the club. But even if you came up with
- 33:02Speaker 8: the liquid assets to do that, it had to be liquid.
- 33:04Speaker 8: It couldn't be investments. You had to apply and the
- 33:07Speaker 8: club can just say no because they don't meet your
- 33:10Speaker 8: standard or whatever.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Yeah, now that that can happen, absolutely, Yeah, But I've
- 33:13Speaker 4: heard a lot of stories like that, but I.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Don't think it's beyond reason to have to think that
- 33:17Speaker 3: Stafford wasn't invited by somebody there other than Brady. Is
- 33:21Speaker 3: that you know he could be for sure? Yeah?
- 33:24Speaker 4: I think now we're really heading down to coincidences.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Okay, so so you are familiar with this place, Chris,
- 33:32Speaker 3: are you in that tax bracket?
- 33:35Speaker 8: I am most certainly not in that bracket. I'm an
- 33:38Speaker 8: emp so I don't make any money, but I have
- 33:41Speaker 8: skied there once. Okay, all right, we had my My
- 33:47Speaker 8: mom was a pastor and one of her members got
- 33:50Speaker 8: us in there. He was like one of the original
- 33:53Speaker 8: founders of Qualcomm.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Yeah, this is the money I'm talking about, like anonymous
- 33:58Speaker 5: tech billionaire inventors that you never heard of.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Yeah, this is like a whole world that we don't
- 34:04Speaker 3: even know about it.
- 34:04Speaker 5: There is trying to get into it, not to be
- 34:07Speaker 5: a host at this club or something or bartender.
- 34:11Speaker 8: I was going to say so one of the lifties
- 34:13Speaker 8: when when I went I noticed that her her last
- 34:16Speaker 8: name was Beheim and she was from Syracuse, New York.
- 34:19Speaker 3: So I asked her.
- 34:19Speaker 8: I was like, you probably get asked this all the time,
- 34:21Speaker 8: but you're not related to like Jim Baheim.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Are you when she.
- 34:23Speaker 8: Goes, oh, yeah, that's my dad, and she goes, yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 8: nobody knows that up here, but you know she was taken.
- 34:29Speaker 8: She just finished college and was taking a couple of
- 34:32Speaker 8: months to just you know, pole around and go skiing
- 34:34Speaker 8: every day. So she ended up working as a lift
- 34:37Speaker 8: operator at this place. It's nuts, and I'm that's where
- 34:40Speaker 8: I think like Brady and Aaron Rodgers did like a
- 34:43Speaker 8: golf tournament up there, you know, the charity thing a
- 34:47Speaker 8: couple of years ago. That's where Brady used to get
- 34:51Speaker 8: all his his wide receivers together to throw summers. It's
- 34:55Speaker 8: it's crazy.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Wow.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Okay, well thanks for the insight.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Appreciate that's great, Chris.
- 35:00Speaker 5: I'm going to need a montanai itinerary.
- 35:02Speaker 3: What do you call it? Yellow jacket, yellow Stone Club,
- 35:05Speaker 3: Yellowstone Club.
- 35:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and just I mean it's it's very flawed. But
- 35:08Speaker 4: I just did a quick Google and Tom Brady's net
- 35:11Speaker 4: worth it says it's three hundred million, and Stafford's is
- 35:14Speaker 4: one hundred and fifty million. So we're not necessarily talking
- 35:17Speaker 4: about right at No, no, no, I'm just but I'm just
- 35:21Speaker 4: it's apples to apples, Yeah, like Matthew Stafford, but.
- 35:24Speaker 5: Tom Brady has the stature.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Correct.
- 35:27Speaker 3: That was the second part of what's for them to
- 35:29Speaker 3: have Tom Brady as a member.
- 35:30Speaker 4: It was yes Stafford, and that I agree with. And
- 35:33Speaker 4: that was the second part of what Chris said that
- 35:34Speaker 4: I really agreed with. You hear those stories with golf
- 35:36Speaker 4: clubs all the time. Well, look at like, I don't
- 35:38Speaker 4: care about your club.
- 35:39Speaker 5: Wouldn't let Tom and Gisellen for a really long.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Time, couldn't get him in, right, because those are really
- 35:46Speaker 4: exclusive clubs and they can pick from anybody that has
- 35:49Speaker 4: the same kind of money you do.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Right. Uh, Dylan is calling back from California. What's up, Dylan?
- 35:58Speaker 10: Okay, So a lot of the trade talk has been
- 36:02Speaker 10: about trading back in the draft, but I know we've
- 36:05Speaker 10: talked about we're not going to get as much trade
- 36:07Speaker 10: value in this trade. So what about instead of trading back? Uh,
- 36:11Speaker 10: we stick at four, and we tried to trade back
- 36:14Speaker 10: up into the top ten and get like Tyler Warren
- 36:17Speaker 10: or even get Campbell if he's still there, with you know,
- 36:20Speaker 10: the eighth or ninth pick and having two top round
- 36:23Speaker 10: first picks. I know it sounds kind of crazy, but
- 36:25Speaker 10: the Texans did it a couple of years ago, as
- 36:27Speaker 10: j and Will Anderson.
- 36:28Speaker 4: So thanks thoughts on that. Well, So what are we
- 36:31Speaker 4: trading to get into the top ten?
- 36:34Speaker 10: See, I look kind of into it.
- 36:35Speaker 11: I'm thinking, you know, next year's first, and I think
- 36:38Speaker 11: we necessarily have to give up a second this year.
- 36:41Speaker 11: We can give up a third round this year. So
- 36:43Speaker 11: the first and a third this Yeah, the first next
- 36:46Speaker 11: year and a third this year is kind of what
- 36:47Speaker 11: I'm thinking.
- 36:48Speaker 4: I would not be interested in doing that in this draft.
- 36:52Speaker 4: I wouldn't want to fall for the first round pick
- 36:54Speaker 4: next year to get another top ten pick in a
- 36:57Speaker 4: draft that is widely regarded as being poor.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Yeah, unless there's a guy they love for some reason.
- 37:03Speaker 3: But yeah, I think you have to give up too much.
- 37:08Speaker 3: You know, if if you had if you already, if
- 37:10Speaker 3: you had two picks in the first round and you
- 37:12Speaker 3: were trading like the twentieth to get back into the ten,
- 37:16Speaker 3: I think you probably wouldn't have to give up next year,
- 37:19Speaker 3: you know, like you could do that and give him
- 37:21Speaker 3: a third, But you know, having to give up next
- 37:24Speaker 3: year's first, you're gonna need that next year. But good thought, Dylan,
- 37:28Speaker 3: thank you. Let's go to La, Christians in La. What's up? Christian?
- 37:33Speaker 2: Hey you guys?
- 37:34Speaker 3: How are you good?
- 37:36Speaker 2: And yet I am in that tax practical not in
- 37:40Speaker 2: the exactly, but the person I deal with in that
- 37:43Speaker 2: tax practice ins us being in the in the palace
- 37:46Speaker 2: date for the big disaster events. Okay, yeah, So that
- 37:55Speaker 2: back football. Is there anyone that you guys free agent?
- 38:00Speaker 2: Why would Jay we would give away our the first
- 38:05Speaker 2: year to just get this player without a pick along
- 38:09Speaker 2: with them?
- 38:10Speaker 3: So is there anyone free agent worth giving up our
- 38:12Speaker 3: first round pick? Four?
- 38:14Speaker 2: Yeah, let's say Miles Garrett.
- 38:15Speaker 4: Yeah, Miles Garret would be the only guy. Yeah, I
- 38:19Speaker 4: would try. I would. I mean, if you wanted Miles
- 38:21Speaker 4: Garrett and you you know he's good enough to give
- 38:23Speaker 4: up the fourth overall pick for. He's still young enough
- 38:27Speaker 4: and he's obviously productive enough.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Is there anyone that you'd be willing to give up
- 38:31Speaker 3: a first round pick in a trade?
- 38:34Speaker 4: And well, that's you'd have to trade for Miles.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Well, I assume Christian, you're talking about guys that are available, right, Like,
- 38:41Speaker 4: obviously I would. I would give that up for Patrick
- 38:43Speaker 4: Mahomes too, but that's not not available.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Well, I think Drake May's better play.
- 38:49Speaker 4: I'm sure you do.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Yeah, is DK Metcalf and that that rangey guy?
- 38:56Speaker 3: Oh, I give up.
- 38:56Speaker 4: I would trade a second round pick for DK Metcalf,
- 38:59Speaker 4: though interested in that maybe a third, second or third.
- 39:04Speaker 4: I wouldn't give up a first round pick for DK
- 39:06Speaker 4: met Let's.
- 39:07Speaker 3: Let's just say, I know this isn't happening because they're
- 39:09Speaker 3: just they're going to make him the richest guy other
- 39:11Speaker 3: than the quarterback. But Jamar Chase, would you give up
- 39:14Speaker 3: this year's first round pick? Yeah?
- 39:16Speaker 4: That's why I said, guys that are realistically.
- 39:18Speaker 3: Available, right, He's not realistically event.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Miles garrett Is thought he wants out right, So I
- 39:23Speaker 4: think Christian I agree. I would. There's not a lot
- 39:26Speaker 4: of guys that I would want to trade the fourth
- 39:28Speaker 4: overall pick for YEA that are available? Right?
- 39:31Speaker 2: You know who would you guys wrestle away from a
- 39:34Speaker 2: team like right now, we're on the cups of T
- 39:36Speaker 2: Higgins being someone that we're trying to, I guess negotiate.
- 39:40Speaker 2: I would assume that we're trying to negotiate with Cincinnati
- 39:43Speaker 2: behind both doors to see those form Is there anyone
- 39:47Speaker 2: else in that position that you guys would all, you know,
- 39:50Speaker 2: would wrestle away from the team.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Well, according to Chad Graff, we're not in the T
- 39:55Speaker 3: Higgins sweepstakes.
- 39:56Speaker 4: And you know, I mean, I know that it does happen,
- 39:58Speaker 4: but I hope they're not publicly doing that because you
- 40:00Speaker 4: can get in trouble for that.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't talk to.
- 40:05Speaker 4: No, not right now.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Unless they gave him permission to go seek a trade. No,
- 40:12Speaker 3: you cannot.
- 40:14Speaker 2: If romocrats down with the owner of they can't talk
- 40:18Speaker 2: about players.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Oh, you can talk owner to owner, you could talk.
- 40:22Speaker 4: No, you can't talk about players.
- 40:23Speaker 3: You can't talk to his agent. You can't talk to
- 40:25Speaker 3: the player about the player.
- 40:27Speaker 4: You can't talk to Mike Brown about T Higgins. Well,
- 40:30Speaker 4: he's on the other team. He's on another team. I know. Now,
- 40:34Speaker 4: I'm not a child. I understand that that happens, right,
- 40:37Speaker 4: But technically that's tampering until the legal tampering period in
- 40:43Speaker 4: early March.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Yeah, because now you're getting a head start on the
- 40:46Speaker 3: other teams right now. That's Christian question.
- 40:49Speaker 4: Christian's right, I mean, that's what's happening now. You know,
- 40:53Speaker 4: like these guys are you know, the coaches, the agents,
- 40:56Speaker 4: they're talking to the other teams there. This is how
- 40:59Speaker 4: you find you don't in the legal tampering period happened.
- 41:01Speaker 4: I think it's March eighth to tenth or something like that.
- 41:05Speaker 4: When that happens, there's a reason why as soon as
- 41:07Speaker 4: that period opens.
- 41:09Speaker 5: Everything happens.
- 41:10Speaker 4: You get all the tweets like so and so was
- 41:12Speaker 4: agreed in the structure of a four year, one hundred
- 41:15Speaker 4: and twenty million dollar deal because they found out what
- 41:18Speaker 4: it's gonna take to get Fred Kirsh to sign on
- 41:21Speaker 4: the dotted line. And so I'm not like again, I'm.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Not what do I need to do to get you
- 41:26Speaker 3: in this car today? Oh?
- 41:29Speaker 4: Give it to me for free? About it?
- 41:31Speaker 3: All right?
- 41:32Speaker 4: Good tires, a little.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Bit, ye, good stuff? All right. We got a lot
- 41:36Speaker 3: of emails coming in.
- 41:38Speaker 4: Wow, don't you read them?
- 41:39Speaker 3: Well, I don't know.
- 41:41Speaker 4: I didn't get you Tolive. You always laugh when I
- 41:43Speaker 4: say that I was expecting it.
- 41:45Speaker 5: Today.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Let's see Alex and Raleigh. He says, no surprise, Paul
- 41:53Speaker 3: didn't find a lane attractive in Seinfeld. He has a
- 41:55Speaker 3: type and that type is j Lo.
- 41:57Speaker 4: It's true, that's that's kind of fair.
- 42:00Speaker 3: And Elaine is not Jalah.
- 42:01Speaker 4: And just so you know, like I didn't like find
- 42:03Speaker 4: her unattractive. I told you was she kind of looked
- 42:07Speaker 4: like my sister?
- 42:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:08Speaker 4: I couldn't really look at it that way. I guess
- 42:11Speaker 4: it's a compliment to my sister. Yeah, was attractive, you know,
- 42:16Speaker 4: like that's creepy.
- 42:17Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 42:17Speaker 3: Was she older or younger than you?
- 42:19Speaker 4: Younger?
- 42:19Speaker 3: Younger? Yeah? How much?
- 42:21Speaker 4: Five years?
- 42:22Speaker 3: Oh wow? Okay? Did you have to keep guys away
- 42:25Speaker 3: from her? Were you, like the bigger brother?
- 42:26Speaker 4: And my brother did a better job of that than
- 42:28Speaker 4: I did, But yes, I can't imagine. It was a
- 42:30Speaker 4: whole lot of fun coming to the parolole house.
- 42:32Speaker 5: Was it two older brothers and the youngest sister? Yeah,
- 42:34Speaker 5: it's a dynamic.
- 42:35Speaker 4: So I do have a story if you want him.
- 42:38Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure the limitations might be up. She had
- 42:42Speaker 4: a boyfriend in high school and he was he was
- 42:47Speaker 4: kind of a he's kind of a jerk. He didn't
- 42:50Speaker 4: do anything wrong per se, like, not like he was
- 42:52Speaker 4: abusive or anything. I don't want to make it sound
- 42:54Speaker 4: like that, but he kind of was bothering her a
- 42:58Speaker 4: little bit. And then he had an the girlfriend, you know,
- 43:02Speaker 4: after they broke up, okay, and the girlfriend was harassing
- 43:05Speaker 4: my sister. Seriously, she kept like driving by the house.
- 43:09Speaker 4: So my brother went outside and she she had the
- 43:15Speaker 4: guts to stop. Uh, do you know what Jen Perillo lives.
- 43:22Speaker 4: My brother punched the window of the car, shattered it.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Oh my god, I never saw her again.
- 43:27Speaker 4: Wow, he just went boom. Who wants to know? Boom
- 43:31Speaker 4: was like Fred Kirsh. So Mike punched in the back
- 43:35Speaker 4: window of a car.
- 43:36Speaker 3: So my aunt told me a story about my father
- 43:39Speaker 3: when he was like a teenager. He was protective of
- 43:43Speaker 3: his sister who was younger, and she said there was
- 43:47Speaker 3: one time where she was going to date this guy
- 43:49Speaker 3: for the first time and he was gonna come over
- 43:52Speaker 3: and pick her up. And so my father and his
- 43:54Speaker 3: friend brought their weights to the front room. So as
- 43:57Speaker 3: soon as this guy came in the door, it these
- 44:00Speaker 3: two guys like lifting weights and we're gonna be at
- 44:06Speaker 3: the gun clad by the front door. So this guy
- 44:08Speaker 3: had a light. That's the first thing he saw when
- 44:10Speaker 3: the door opened.
- 44:11Speaker 5: You know, some curls in the foyer.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:13Speaker 4: Yeah, my brother was definitely worse with that than I was.
- 44:17Speaker 4: But I can't imagine it was a lot of fun.
- 44:18Speaker 5: That one's funny because it just shows me that and
- 44:21Speaker 5: the entire history before social media, new girlfriends were always
- 44:24Speaker 5: stalking the ex girlfriends and nothing has changed.
- 44:28Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, And like at the time, my sister
- 44:31Speaker 4: couldn't have cared less about the guy anymore. It's not
- 44:33Speaker 4: like she was trying to get him back.
- 44:35Speaker 5: No, that's how it is. But your sister is probably
- 44:37Speaker 5: the one that got away, and the new girlfriend understood that.
- 44:40Speaker 5: I can really.
- 44:41Speaker 4: Fast forward about twenty five years. I've actually been in
- 44:44Speaker 4: that kid's company because he lived not too far away
- 44:48Speaker 4: from where I am, and the kid was I think
- 44:50Speaker 4: I coached his kid in elementary basketball.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Interesting, we kept him on the bench. Alex goes on
- 45:00Speaker 3: play onto the Patriots depending on measurables. I think Will
- 45:04Speaker 3: Campbell could be a great addition for the team to
- 45:06Speaker 3: protect Drake. Are you all concerned that there are too
- 45:09Speaker 3: many holes to plug this year to rebound? Do we
- 45:11Speaker 3: have only thirteen holes to plug like the Commanders did?
- 45:15Speaker 3: Or do we have way more?
- 45:17Speaker 4: Like? Do you mean like? What do you mean like
- 45:20Speaker 4: is the Commanders the example of rebounding? Yeah, because I
- 45:24Speaker 4: say no, but I'm saying is that you're only like,
- 45:26Speaker 4: I think you could win six or seven games, and
- 45:29Speaker 4: I think that would be a perfectly suitable rebounding right, Like,
- 45:31Speaker 4: I just want to I just want to improve. Yeah,
- 45:35Speaker 4: I want to get pieces in place.
- 45:37Speaker 12: That you know what I'm saying, No, but just like, Okay,
- 45:41Speaker 12: they got those three players that are in their mid
- 45:44Speaker 12: twenties that I think will be good players for them
- 45:47Speaker 12: for the next three years.
- 45:48Speaker 5: The way we feel about they didn't get.
- 45:49Speaker 4: Any of those last year. You know, other than Drake
- 45:53Speaker 4: May like, who do you feel really good about that
- 45:55Speaker 4: they acquired last year? Right, other than Drake May like
- 45:59Speaker 4: whether it be Raft Pooper, but he's now a free agent. Right,
- 46:03Speaker 4: This is my point, Like, they didn't sign a twenty
- 46:05Speaker 4: five year old guy who really contributed. Like if Antonio
- 46:09Speaker 4: Gibson or Hooper was like a twenty five year old
- 46:13Speaker 4: guy on a that we signed to a five year contract,
- 46:15Speaker 4: I'd say, Okay.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Those are guys, so that's they built a lot.
- 46:18Speaker 4: Those are hiss right, you know, that's all That's all
- 46:21Speaker 4: I'm looking for for improvement, and I think they could win.
- 46:24Speaker 4: You know, the schedule right now is really really light,
- 46:29Speaker 4: and if they button things up.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Don't make that mistake, Paul, judging a schedule before it's playing.
- 46:34Speaker 4: I know, and you taught me well, and I try
- 46:36Speaker 4: not to do that. Everybody thought last year's schedule was
- 46:39Speaker 4: going to be hard. It wasn't right. But I do
- 46:44Speaker 4: feel like the pieces are in place if they can
- 46:47Speaker 4: make some good moves and improve a couple of things
- 46:50Speaker 4: and stop, as Mike said so many times, and is
- 46:54Speaker 4: learn how to take advantage of bad football. Yep, not
- 46:57Speaker 4: be one of those teams that does the bad PA
- 47:00Speaker 4: that allows the other team to win naked win six
- 47:02Speaker 4: or seven games.
- 47:03Speaker 13: Uh.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Floyd and Redford, Michigan. Please let Alex know she's been
- 47:08Speaker 3: dressing sharp and I mention it on the show. But
- 47:12Speaker 3: I did compliment Alex when she came in the pants.
- 47:16Speaker 5: The shoes, my coat last week.
- 47:18Speaker 3: The sweater, the whole stepped it up. Even the hair
- 47:21Speaker 3: clip in the.
- 47:22Speaker 5: Back public just Abercrombie and Fitch.
- 47:26Speaker 4: Clip in the back.
- 47:27Speaker 3: The hair clip I think, I think goes with the whole.
- 47:30Speaker 4: The hair sip in the back. Yeah, she's like embarrassed.
- 47:33Speaker 3: No, I think that. Yeah, you got to put together today, girl.
- 47:36Speaker 5: Thanks guys, it means more coming from.
- 47:39Speaker 3: You, should. I don't throw around these compliments.
- 47:42Speaker 14: Like t me.
- 47:43Speaker 5: I hear how you talked to Paul about his ensembles,
- 47:45Speaker 5: so I don't.
- 47:46Speaker 3: I got on. I got on Chris Cassidy yesterday for
- 47:49Speaker 3: wearing his cat backwards.
- 47:52Speaker 5: Grow up to tease a little. For the newsletter, I
- 47:55Speaker 5: did a poll of some female employees here about the
- 47:58Speaker 5: backwards hot things.
- 47:59Speaker 3: Sokay, we'll get that.
- 48:01Speaker 4: Oh that's good. You know what my plan was, And
- 48:03Speaker 4: as usual, I come up with these random thoughts when
- 48:05Speaker 4: I'm driving, you know, of course to and from.
- 48:09Speaker 3: I was good.
- 48:09Speaker 4: I was gonna come onto the show today, put my hat,
- 48:14Speaker 4: and of course I.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Forgot hill you're wearing.
- 48:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that was Andy.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Bill and Albuquerque. Rights In guys, my good friend, also
- 48:24Speaker 3: a Patriots fan, was one of the first people to
- 48:27Speaker 3: get a place at Yellowstone, and I was fortunate enough
- 48:30Speaker 3: to celebrate my birthday there last year. The club is nuts.
- 48:34Speaker 3: It's pretty easy to bump into a celebrity because there
- 48:36Speaker 3: are very few people in the mountains there that are
- 48:40Speaker 3: There are trail runs where you see no one.
- 48:43Speaker 4: So that's awesome, that's you know, it's so a great
- 48:46Speaker 4: call that Chris in Montana. That was a great call.
- 48:50Speaker 3: Former intern Rocky rights in no way, Yeah, yeah, no way, yeah.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Rocky who went from here to Playboy an editor at Playboy,
- 49:00Speaker 3: So he says, they say that a tie is like
- 49:02Speaker 3: kissing your sister. Though perhaps on this draft, Rocky too nice,
- 49:07Speaker 3: taking tie would be like kissing Paul's sister. Tyler Warren,
- 49:11Speaker 3: former intern Rocky says, ps fun fact, the Patriots are
- 49:14Speaker 3: one of nine NFL teams to not tie since the
- 49:18Speaker 3: advent of overtime in nineteen seventy four. Is that true?
- 49:22Speaker 3: We haven't had a tie, and.
- 49:23Speaker 4: We haven't had a tie since overtime. I did know that.
- 49:25Speaker 4: I didn't know how many teams there were. But Rocky,
- 49:28Speaker 4: it's great to hear from you. I thought you were
- 49:29Speaker 4: going to make a really inappropriate remark about my sister.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and me. Let's see, my.
- 49:39Speaker 4: Brother used to say that all the time, saying, tis
- 49:42Speaker 4: like you, it depends what your sister looks like.
- 49:45Speaker 5: Oh my god, what state you live in?
- 49:49Speaker 4: Yeah? I think that probably has I'm gonna be nice,
- 49:53Speaker 4: different connotations in different areas of the country. Back, I
- 49:57Speaker 4: thought we had a lot of emails. We do you
- 49:59Speaker 4: already like.
- 49:59Speaker 5: A anything like that.
- 50:00Speaker 3: There's so many I can't you know. I need some
- 50:02Speaker 3: help with you need you need food? I need some
- 50:05Speaker 3: that I do. But I need somebody to go through
- 50:08Speaker 3: the email say this is a good one, this is
- 50:09Speaker 3: a good you know, yeah, work on that. Let's see
- 50:14Speaker 3: CJ's and case. What's up, CJ?
- 50:18Speaker 15: Hey, Okay, hey, I wanted to ask you since you
- 50:22Speaker 15: brought up this year's draft, you know, being generally a
- 50:27Speaker 15: bad overall draft, would you guys be interested in potentially
- 50:33Speaker 15: trading out of the fourth overall pick this year with like,
- 50:37Speaker 15: you know, a team that be looking to move up,
- 50:39Speaker 15: like the Saints or something like that to build for
- 50:43Speaker 15: next year's draft, because I do think there's gonna be
- 50:46Speaker 15: some top end talent in next year's draft. And full disclosure,
- 50:49Speaker 15: I'm in a higher States band and I would love
- 50:51Speaker 15: for Talb Downs or Jeremiah Smith or both of them
- 50:54Speaker 15: to be in a Patriots and uniform next year. So
- 50:56Speaker 15: just wanting to get your thoughts about that.
- 50:58Speaker 3: Yeah, So, so what you're saying. The first thing though,
- 51:01Speaker 3: is I think Paul and I agree that the top
- 51:04Speaker 3: half of this draft is not great. But I think
- 51:06Speaker 3: that the draft overall isn't that bad. It's there's good
- 51:10Speaker 3: players to be found in this draft. But to what
- 51:13Speaker 3: you're saying, I mean, I wouldn't rule it out.
- 51:16Speaker 4: You know, I wouldn't rule that out either, right. I
- 51:18Speaker 4: like the thought it's not supposed to be a very
- 51:20Speaker 4: good draft. If if Jeremiah Smith, by the way, we'll
- 51:23Speaker 4: have to spend two more years at Ohio State on
- 51:25Speaker 4: the CJ, I'm not a background not positive on that.
- 51:29Speaker 4: Maybe he red shirted his first year so he might
- 51:34Speaker 4: know me.
- 51:34Speaker 3: But overall, if I can pick up an extra first
- 51:37Speaker 3: round pick next year and maybe some other picks later
- 51:41Speaker 3: in the draft this year, I'd be willing to look
- 51:44Speaker 3: at that. Well.
- 51:45Speaker 4: I think that what he's proposing is to get a
- 51:47Speaker 4: first round pick next year, not necessarily like a pick swap,
- 51:50Speaker 4: so you lose that fourth pick, but you get extra
- 51:52Speaker 4: picks in the future.
- 51:53Speaker 3: You would lose the fourth pick.
- 51:57Speaker 4: I think they need players. I think you need to
- 51:59Speaker 4: find some players, Like at some point you need you know,
- 52:03Speaker 4: like there's a lot of talk about like all the
- 52:05Speaker 4: different like DK Metcalfs, some people. You know. I listened
- 52:08Speaker 4: to one of my shows in the morning. Fred Toucher
- 52:11Speaker 4: is very against those kinds of guys because you know
- 52:15Speaker 4: the cliche of those you're not ready for those guys yet. Well,
- 52:19Speaker 4: at some point you just have to find a way
- 52:21Speaker 4: to get good players that are going to help you
- 52:22Speaker 4: get better and whether to hear the next time you're
- 52:25Speaker 4: competing for a title or not. You need guys to
- 52:28Speaker 4: improve your overall talent level, and I think at some
- 52:31Speaker 4: point you need to use some of these draft picks
- 52:33Speaker 4: and you need to hit on.
- 52:34Speaker 3: So if you were offered a Ferrari or a Porsche
- 52:37Speaker 3: or something high end car for no money, would you say, no,
- 52:42Speaker 3: I can't take it yet because I don't have a garage,
- 52:45Speaker 3: or would you just take the car and I worry
- 52:46Speaker 3: about the garage.
- 52:47Speaker 4: Let's take it now. Would you take a fifteen year
- 52:52Speaker 4: old Ferrari?
- 52:56Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 52:56Speaker 5: I would take an old Porsche?
- 52:57Speaker 4: Yeah, but that would be the more accurate thing, you know.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Would you take an old one that might be on
- 53:04Speaker 4: its last legs if you weren't prepared to maintain it now?
- 53:09Speaker 4: But that's kind of what the argument is on, like
- 53:12Speaker 4: Cooper Cup or you know guys like that. Right now,
- 53:14Speaker 4: I think you can make an argument for or against
- 53:18Speaker 4: a lot of these guys, but that's more along the
- 53:21Speaker 4: lines of what we're talking about. Brand new Yeah, I
- 53:23Speaker 4: would not turn down a brand new car because I
- 53:25Speaker 4: don't have a garage for it.
- 53:27Speaker 5: Well, in a different situation.
- 53:30Speaker 4: You need a car.
- 53:32Speaker 3: Chris is in New Hampshire. What's up, Chris?
- 53:34Speaker 4: I'm almost think, hey, can you.
- 53:38Speaker 16: Don't hear me?
- 53:40Speaker 13: Oh?
- 53:40Speaker 16: Hey, yeah, I got two sneaky needs for the Patriots.
- 53:44Speaker 16: First one is I think a free safety would really
- 53:47Speaker 16: helps allow Dugger and Peppers.
- 53:50Speaker 4: It's a huge need the best. Yeah, it's a huge need.
- 53:54Speaker 16: I've heard someone's name free agency because we talked about
- 54:00Speaker 16: And the other sea you need is a pre and
- 54:03Speaker 16: postgame show host.
- 54:05Speaker 4: Oh okay, thanks, Javon Holland. I think is the safety
- 54:10Speaker 4: you're probably thinking about in free agency. But I think
- 54:14Speaker 4: that is a significant need. They have a lot of
- 54:18Speaker 4: the same kinds of guys, and I'm not even sure
- 54:19Speaker 4: how many of those guys will be back back. Did
- 54:23Speaker 4: they have box, physical, box run support safeties. They don't
- 54:26Speaker 4: have a lot of cover safeties.
- 54:28Speaker 3: I know he's not a safety as a linebacker, but
- 54:30Speaker 3: any interest in Harold Landry.
- 54:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I would take care of Madrid as an edge rusher, Yeah, absolutely.
- 54:37Speaker 3: I would too. Eldred is in North Carolina, a.
- 54:40Speaker 4: Guy, by the way, that's been given permission to seek
- 54:42Speaker 4: a trade, which is why you brought them up right
- 54:44Speaker 4: it's up Eldred.
- 54:46Speaker 14: What of Fred?
- 54:47Speaker 3: All?
- 54:49Speaker 14: All right, biggy, I'm doing pretty good. Hey question. Uh
- 54:54Speaker 14: listen to Evan and Bark the other day on a
- 54:58Speaker 14: risk not restricted but coming up soon. Would you give
- 55:04Speaker 14: a three but Garrett Wilson.
- 55:07Speaker 4: From the Jets, a third round pick for Garrett Wilson?
- 55:10Speaker 3: Yeah? Absolutely, Are you kidding me? Of course I would.
- 55:14Speaker 14: There was there was an organism, they might maybe a
- 55:17Speaker 14: second or third. But like I said, if I get
- 55:19Speaker 14: him for a third.
- 55:20Speaker 3: I might even give him a second.
- 55:22Speaker 4: Oh, I would give him a second. The Jets not
- 55:24Speaker 4: not going to do any of this, right, But yes,
- 55:26Speaker 4: I would do this, Yeah, yeah, I mean.
- 55:29Speaker 3: He was a top five pick and he's hit, Yeah,
- 55:32Speaker 3: and he has production on terrible team.
- 55:34Speaker 4: He's he's hit as a top five pick. They're not
- 55:36Speaker 4: going to give him away for a third round pick, right, Yeah?
- 55:41Speaker 14: According to them, they might because he was third, came
- 55:44Speaker 14: back and then him and well Rock quarterback then didn't
- 55:47Speaker 14: mesh that well.
- 55:48Speaker 4: And yeah, well but yeah, I mean I respectfully disagree
- 55:54Speaker 4: with them.
- 55:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, Eldred, I'd give a second for him
- 55:57Speaker 3: in a heartbeat, but the Jets aren't going to do that.
- 56:00Speaker 14: At four four get Campbell and put him outside of
- 56:04Speaker 14: the tackle.
- 56:05Speaker 3: You know.
- 56:07Speaker 4: And by the way, Garrett Wilson did not miss a
- 56:09Speaker 4: game last year or the year before. So I don't
- 56:12Speaker 4: know where they getting he was hurt and he came back.
- 56:14Speaker 4: I don't know what. Like Garrett Wilson's played in seventeen
- 56:18Speaker 4: games all three seasons. He hasn't missed a game because
- 56:20Speaker 4: of the injury.
- 56:20Speaker 17: Yet, not yet.
- 56:23Speaker 14: I don't know what they got it from.
- 56:24Speaker 4: But it's just the typical Patriot thing. Like the other
- 56:27Speaker 4: all the other guys that are good around the league,
- 56:29Speaker 4: they don't want to give their players to the Patriots enough.
- 56:31Speaker 3: He might have come out of a game because it
- 56:33Speaker 3: was banged up, but he's he's played in every game.
- 56:36Speaker 4: And you know, and I know it was a horrible situation,
- 56:39Speaker 4: but he still cut one hundred and one passes last year.
- 56:42Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 56:42Speaker 4: He's had for eleven hundred yards and seven touchdowns career.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Hoirible team with bad quarterbacking.
- 56:48Speaker 4: Career highs in all three of those categories. One on
- 56:50Speaker 4: one for eleven four and seven touchdowns. Yeah, it's funny.
- 56:54Speaker 4: One more yard than he had his rookie year.
- 56:57Speaker 3: I would take him.
- 56:58Speaker 14: Probably no way.
- 56:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I don't see them, thanks, Aldrick.
- 57:02Speaker 4: I don't see them wanting to trade him to the
- 57:04Speaker 4: Patriots anyway.
- 57:05Speaker 7: Now.
- 57:05Speaker 4: They might get to the point where they just feel
- 57:07Speaker 4: like if he's demanding to be out and they want
- 57:10Speaker 4: to just say, well, we want to get something for him,
- 57:13Speaker 4: they might do something like that. But I just can't
- 57:15Speaker 4: see them wanting to give him to the Patriots unless
- 57:18Speaker 4: the Patriots really overpaid for him.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Yep, let's see Tim Wright sin I've noticed that whenever
- 57:28Speaker 3: someone calls into the show and asks how everyone's doing,
- 57:31Speaker 3: Paul emits a barely audible, dejected meh.
- 57:34Speaker 4: That's accurate.
- 57:35Speaker 3: The meh is never addressed and is often drowned out
- 57:38Speaker 3: by other voices, but I always hear it. He's been
- 57:41Speaker 3: responding this way to this question for years. What's got
- 57:45Speaker 3: Paul so down is that the impending college tuition? Does
- 57:48Speaker 3: he miss Andy? Does he think unlike Mike miss being
- 57:52Speaker 3: twelve and four? And in the AFC Championship game every
- 57:54Speaker 3: year they say many doesn't buy money, doesn't buy happiness.
- 57:57Speaker 3: Fred throw the guy a raised to boost his spirits,
- 58:00Speaker 3: would you?
- 58:00Speaker 4: Who is this?
- 58:01Speaker 17: Uh?
- 58:02Speaker 3: Tim?
- 58:02Speaker 4: It's my favorite guy.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Paul buddy, if you ever need to talk, I'm here.
- 58:06Speaker 4: Are you a therapist by any time? Because I would
- 58:09Speaker 4: get one if I could afford one.
- 58:11Speaker 3: Insurance we haven'tsured.
- 58:12Speaker 4: I know there's payments involved in that that I don't have.
- 58:15Speaker 5: You do, Oh, I beg to differ.
- 58:19Speaker 4: I need therapy.
- 58:20Speaker 3: PS. Since I'm talking, since I'm taking shots at Mike,
- 58:24Speaker 3: I want to address a befuddling take that Mike had
- 58:26Speaker 3: during the season, which was that he would have preferred
- 58:30Speaker 3: not to be stuck with the first overall pick in
- 58:33Speaker 3: this year's draft. Mike, do you still feel the same
- 58:35Speaker 3: way now that the Patriots will likely miss out on
- 58:38Speaker 3: your beloved abdul Carter.
- 58:41Speaker 4: That wasn't a odd take by Mike. I kind of remember.
- 58:43Speaker 4: I think it was a pregame show.
- 58:45Speaker 3: Well, he fold he's sick of twelve and four seasons. Yeah,
- 58:47Speaker 3: I mean, has he's had odd takes? Yeah?
- 58:52Speaker 4: Yeah, Well have to ask him. I don't think it
- 58:54Speaker 4: was the disaster that it's made out to be that
- 58:56Speaker 4: they lost that pick in the last game of the year.
- 58:58Speaker 4: But I would certainly rather have the opportunity to take
- 59:00Speaker 4: Abduel Cotter or a Travis Hunter right now without having
- 59:04Speaker 4: to worry about what's happening ahead of them, right? Would
- 59:06Speaker 4: you agree with that? For you're not paying attention to me.
- 59:09Speaker 3: Going to the emails? This is why? What did you say?
- 59:13Speaker 4: I would rather be in a position where I could
- 59:15Speaker 4: get abdul Cotter or Travis Hunter without worrying about whoever
- 59:18Speaker 4: whatever to control your face. I don't think it's a
- 59:20Speaker 4: huge deal. I don't think it's like a set the
- 59:23Speaker 4: organization back because they won that game kind of a deal.
- 59:26Speaker 4: The way people have sort.
- 59:27Speaker 3: Of just there some people that are really really and they're.
- 59:30Speaker 4: Still upset about it.
- 59:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yep, there might be people inside this building.
- 59:35Speaker 4: My buddy Jim Murray talks about it all the time
- 59:39Speaker 4: on my show.
- 59:40Speaker 3: Now there's someone who needs to talk to somebody's funny, well,
- 59:46Speaker 3: probably everybody on that show does.
- 59:49Speaker 5: That'd probably be a good radio just bringing the therapist
- 59:51Speaker 5: for each of them.
- 59:53Speaker 3: Let's see Joshua just email of praise. I like those.
- 59:57Speaker 3: He's from Amarillo, Texas.
- 59:59Speaker 18: Uh.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: Now that we're halfway through the decade, I'd love to
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: know who you think should be on the Patriots All
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: Decade Team of the twenty twenties. I also want to
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: express my gratitude to everyone's hard work. I stumbled upon
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: this podcast while researching for Brady's Hall and Fame induction
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: last year, and I'm so thankful for the podcast and
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: all the work you do. So who should be on
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: the Patriots All Decade Team of the twenty twenties?
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: It's a fantastic question.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Where twenty twenty five and one?
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: I have no idea.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: It's not a very lofty list.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: No, So twenty twenty would be the first year? Yeah
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: to now, so you're talking about five years?
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: So the year after Brady left? Right? Oh?
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: Man, Like, who are the holdovers?
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Do we have one year with Brady on it?
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: No?
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: That would be nineteen nineteen? Was this last year? Okay?
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: So had Edelman, mccordy, and Slater still around.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: I mean I guess, I guess you put Devin on it.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: Not Edelman, he did nothing in twenty twenty. Judon would
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: probably be on it, Okay, I mean Dougger Godshaw would
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: probably be on it. Dougger.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: I mean you have to fill the team. So yeah, yeah, I.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: Mean you have to pick twenty two guys, right.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: Right, Kobe Myers, who's.
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: The Kobe Myers receiver?
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: Could call Alex probably Remandre.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, but Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, Henry Yeah.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: Yeah. So it's slim pickings, ye, Michael Lewenu yep. David Andrews, yep.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: But it's you know, you put Drake May on there. Yeah,
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: I would, Yeah, I would.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: Drake May's ten games are better than anything. So someone
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: that's interesting. Someone asked me a question on Twitter who
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: had the better rookie year, Mac or Drake May.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: Have to be fair, Mac did, Yeah, I went with
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: Drake May.
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: A lot of people that despite Max's success, were just never.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: In on him.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: Well that would be me.
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: But well again, I know a lot of people and
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: people like trust with their opinions.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: Well, I think when you say success you have to
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: put it in quotes, right, because I think it was
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: it was fabricated, it was they coddled in the first half,
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: second half he declined because he needed to do more.
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: Well, I think it's also how you just how you
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: define success. And you know a lot of people, you know,
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: like the Felgers of the World school Board. I'm a
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: slave to the school Board. He won ten games, Okay,
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: I don't think that he won ten games, right, He
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: didn't lose, he was he was the quarterback of a
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: team that won ten games. I don't think he won
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: really any of them. Right now, you could make the
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: argument like, well, for all that Drake May did, he
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: won one game. Right as a starter and finisher, he
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: won one game. I would just look at it and say,
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: watching the quarterback play, Drake May was better. He was better,
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: but he then Mac John's success. He had not nearly
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: as much to work with. It was asked to do
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: way more. To your point, he wasn't coddled, and he
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: was asked to do everything for a team that had
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: virtually nothing.
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: Ye, you just had so many comebacks to where even
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: if we didn't ultimately win, he would lead a drive
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: at the end of the game when we were down.
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: And if we were down with Mac.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: Only if you were down multiple scores, not if you
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: were within one score.
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: Regardless, there was times where I was like, this game,
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: we have a chance. And I've never felt like that
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: down with Mac.
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I and that Yeah, I mean it was
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: and I don't really know what precipitated it. Someone on
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: Twitter just reached out, I think it was yesterday and
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: just said, you know, what are your thoughts on that?
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: It's a good question.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: It wasn't good. It was a really good question.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: I thought about it for a couple had a better
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: rookie season. I do know.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: I mean, I think that's I'm not arguing with you
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: on It's not something I would like, you know, get
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: on die on that hill. I just feel like, if
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: you're just strictly judging the quarterback play, how this guy
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: played and how this guy played, I think that I
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: agree with now that the numbers won't back that up, right,
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: throw more picks. They didn't win any games.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: Yep. Will writes in about Evan and the criticism in
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: an email from Tuesday. Yeah, he's a bit stiff and
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: pretty set in his opinions, not exactly fitting for his age,
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: which is kind of funny since he dresses and styles
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: himself as an older guy. And yeah, he's not the
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: most open minded when it comes to the world. And
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: let's be real, his food takes are a disaster boneless
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: wings and that recent post about the best chicken parmesan
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: as an Italian, all I could say was, Mama Mia. No,
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: I didn't see that post. But he's a huge asset
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: to pu. He's the perfect counterbalance to Paul with their
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: playful back and forth and his more detailed approach to
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: football brings a really interesting perspective to the show, especially
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: for Europeans who don't grow up with football. There's a
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: lot to learn from him. And it's Catch twenty two
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: with Alex must listen for every Patriots fan, just like pu.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: So there's a defensive of.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: I like the defensive of Evan. Was the chicken a
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: five minute pretty amble of these.
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: Are all his quirks, but no, the chicken parm thing
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: was he took Jess out for her birthday to the
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: day before Valentine's Day and give a shout out to
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: the Italian restaurant afterwards. And this is on him because
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: it was probably a delicious chicken palm. However, he uploaded
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: a picture of his plate and it was super dark.
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: It was like not great composition, Like it wasn't the
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: best food photo. So then his Twitter followers were just like, Okay,
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: that's not good, Evan.
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: What are your thoughts on taking pictures of your food
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: and posting it?
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: I hate it. But like my son would say, phone
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: eats first, that's his you know, that's what the kids do.
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: I have albums on my phone. Yeah, they look at
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: my Instagram story from get the.
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: Meal, and the first thing they do is they take
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: a picture of the and then they tweet it out.
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: I never get it.
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: I mean meat balls last night.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: I don't care what you're eating, and.
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: I posted it on my Instagram.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: I don't even care if you want to tell me like, oh,
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: I had I went out to dinner last night. I
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: had this great chicken parm that's spot Like, why do
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: you have to take a picture.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Of like I can see like if you like spent
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: three hours in that kitchen yesterday and then you know
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: the finished product, you took a picture. But if you
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: go out to a restaurant, why do you need to
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: take a picture of the plate that you just got
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: put in front of you?
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: Does the Italian to proof did you make that?
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: But I can't approve based off site. This is my
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: whole point.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: Yeah, but what if it tastes like crap?
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: It's delicious? Yeah, so anyway, eat with your eyes too. Yeah,
- 1:06:38Speaker 5: that's why presentation is so important restant.
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: I do think presentation is important, But you can't just
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: judge how good something is look.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: But it sets you up, like if it looks really good,
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: you trick your mind into it and you get disappointed psychologically, right.
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: Then you get disappointed.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: You could be you could be Carly writing in. My
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: husband goes by Ian from Virginia when he calls her emails.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: He's a huge fan of your podcast and of course
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: the Patriots. He listens to your podcast live every Tuesday
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: and Thursday and episodes every day. His birthday is today,
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: February twenty seventh, and would love to if you could
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: wish him a happy birthday from his wife Carly from
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Virginia on the episode.
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: So happy birthdayesay, mister Christy jan somebody knocks one.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Yeah, there's another. You can't come in this way, So
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: happy birthday, Ian. So actually I got this email last
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: week and I was really good to keep it under

- 1:07:48Speaker 3: thinking all week, I'm gonna screw this up. I'm going
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: to read it on Tuesday and it's not going to
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: get it right day, Ian in Virginia. But happy birthday, Ian,

- 1:09:15Speaker 20: Hello everyone, Hello, Welcome to another combine. It's great to
- 1:09:19Speaker 20: be back here Indianapolis. This is my thirty first combine.
- 1:09:23Speaker 18: You know started coming here.
- 1:09:24Speaker 20: In nineteen ninety four when I was eleven years old,
- 1:09:27Speaker 20: so you know, it's really cool to see how this
- 1:09:28Speaker 20: thing is has developed and grown in a lot of ways.
- 1:09:35Speaker 20: You know, it's been really cool and rewarding so far
- 1:09:38Speaker 20: working with coach Rabel.
- 1:09:40Speaker 18: He has a lot of great ideas of vision for.
- 1:09:42Speaker 20: The team, you know, an effort that we're all working together.
- 1:09:47Speaker 20: He's met with the scouts, he's met with me, he's
- 1:09:50Speaker 20: met with everybody and just kind of it's all authentic
- 1:09:53Speaker 20: and genuine, and it's really good to see just how
- 1:09:55Speaker 20: he's developed and how we're all going to develop this
- 1:09:58Speaker 20: thing together moving forward.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:10:01Speaker 20: That being said, you know, last season, ultimately the roster
- 1:10:06Speaker 20: was on me. We were four and thirteen, just just
- 1:10:11Speaker 20: didn't get enough done. Certainly, the free agency class didn't
- 1:10:15Speaker 20: live up to our expectations, you know, the draft class,
- 1:10:19Speaker 20: you know, it's it's too soon to tell, but we
- 1:10:21Speaker 20: were expecting a bigger impact from some of those guys,
- 1:10:24Speaker 20: and we're still hopeful that they'll get to that point.
- 1:10:27Speaker 20: We're excited about Drake May, we're excited about working with
- 1:10:29Speaker 20: coach Rabel, and you know, everything that we're doing is
- 1:10:34Speaker 20: to improve this football team and getting to where we
- 1:10:36Speaker 20: need to go. The fans understanding their frustrations. I share
- 1:10:41Speaker 20: those frustrations. It's been difficult. Every you know, every hit
- 1:10:45Speaker 20: on Jacoby or Drake during the season, you know, I
- 1:10:47Speaker 20: felt responsible for that. Just ultimately, we didn't we didn't
- 1:10:50Speaker 20: get enough done up front. The game has always won
- 1:10:53Speaker 20: on the lines, offensive line, defensive line, not just because
- 1:10:56Speaker 20: of the Super Bowl.
- 1:10:57Speaker 18: It's always been that way.
- 1:10:58Speaker 20: And you know, ultimately, you know, just didn't do enough
- 1:11:02Speaker 20: to improve the roster to get it to where we
- 1:11:04Speaker 20: need it to be. So that being said, again, just
- 1:11:07Speaker 20: really excited about coach Rabel in the direction and vision
- 1:11:10Speaker 20: that that he's provided and working together with these guys
- 1:11:13Speaker 20: and getting this thing going. Yeah, I mean, it's it's
- 1:11:20Speaker 20: a it's an advantageous position. I'd say there's maybe less
- 1:11:24Speaker 20: clarity this year about what's gonna happen in front of us.
- 1:11:27Speaker 20: But you know, there's some good players available, and we're
- 1:11:30Speaker 20: open anything. We're open to moving down, we're open to
- 1:11:32Speaker 20: moving up, We're open to sitting there and picking just
- 1:11:34Speaker 20: you know, whatever whatever the case may be in terms of, uh,
- 1:11:37Speaker 20: you know, making the team better.
- 1:11:40Speaker 18: We're trying to.
- 1:11:48Speaker 20: Absolutely, Yeah, I think I think it's I think it's
- 1:11:50Speaker 20: it's definitely advantageous to try to build that roster out
- 1:11:53Speaker 20: and get as much as much as we can, whether
- 1:11:55Speaker 20: that's middle class to the roster or upper class. You know,
- 1:11:57Speaker 20: there's only so many you know, Elie free agents, and
- 1:12:00Speaker 20: you know there's probably twenty seven teams looking at those guys. Certainly,
- 1:12:05Speaker 20: we feel like we're more attractive destination this year than
- 1:12:07Speaker 20: we were last year, and you know, we're excited to
- 1:12:11Speaker 20: fill those to fill the roster out and get the
- 1:12:13Speaker 20: depth and you know, get to where we need to
- 1:12:16Speaker 20: be so we can use that pick on the best
- 1:12:18Speaker 20: player available.
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: Who had the final Say, you said it's a collaborative effort,
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: but at the end, to me, what's the scenario this year?
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: Is it still that way?
- 1:12:30Speaker 18: Yeah, it's similar.
- 1:12:31Speaker 20: You know, I would just say, like listening to coach Rabel,
- 1:12:34Speaker 20: like there's not a lot of gms or you know,
- 1:12:37Speaker 20: people in my position in this business that are are
- 1:12:39Speaker 20: going to force players on coaching staff. Certainly, the best
- 1:12:42Speaker 20: decisions are made together, and you know, get to continue
- 1:12:45Speaker 20: to work with Mike and Ryan and Stretch and the
- 1:12:48Speaker 20: scouting staff, you know, Richard Miller, everybody to make those
- 1:12:51Speaker 20: decisions the best we can for the team.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: You're a recruiting pitch is going to revolve around Drake.
- 1:12:56Speaker 20: May you know, offensively quite a bit, but defensively as well.
- 1:13:01Speaker 20: You know, Drake showed tremendous improvement throughout the season. There's
- 1:13:05Speaker 20: still you know, plenty of room to grow, but you know,
- 1:13:09Speaker 20: having that guy in place is paramount to our success
- 1:13:12Speaker 20: and we're really excited about.
- 1:13:13Speaker 18: The future that that he can bring to our organization.
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: Look at Travis Hunter and how much can he potentially
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: play on both sides of the ball in the NFL.
- 1:13:20Speaker 20: Yeah, I mean, Travis Hunter is a tremendous prospect.
- 1:13:23Speaker 18: You know, as a number of these guys are.
- 1:13:25Speaker 20: He's He's obviously been very unique when the Heisman Trophy
- 1:13:27Speaker 20: playing both ways. He's he's really unique and instinctive at
- 1:13:33Speaker 20: both positions. So I think I think there's a scenario where,
- 1:13:36Speaker 20: you know, he's probably gonna major in one and minor
- 1:13:38Speaker 20: and the other, but I think there's a scenario where
- 1:13:40Speaker 20: he could play both ways.
- 1:13:42Speaker 21: Football plans keep has chieved so much and evolved different
- 1:13:46Speaker 21: sable with nil money, with transfer portals, with guys playing longer,
- 1:13:51Speaker 21: with more people you can talk to, you to evaluate these guys,
- 1:13:54Speaker 21: do you see a distinct group of guys that might
- 1:13:56Speaker 21: be more nflready because they're more seasoned.
- 1:13:59Speaker 18: Yeah, I think I think every case can be different.
- 1:14:02Speaker 20: You know, certainly the information that we can get, you know, now,
- 1:14:04Speaker 20: instead of getting one information from one school and one
- 1:14:07Speaker 20: pro liaison, a lot of these guys have transferred two,
- 1:14:09Speaker 20: three times, so we're getting information from you know, three
- 1:14:11Speaker 20: different places, from their high school coaches, three different strength coaches.
- 1:14:15Speaker 20: So you know, just the information flow is better and
- 1:14:17Speaker 20: we feel more convicted than the information that we receive.
- 1:14:21Speaker 20: You're not going to be you know, you're not going
- 1:14:23Speaker 20: to want to force any players on on Mic or
- 1:14:25Speaker 20: the coaching staff.
- 1:14:26Speaker 18: Just to clarify, do you have final say on the
- 1:14:28Speaker 18: fifty three man roster?
- 1:14:30Speaker 20: Ultimately it's it's my it's my final say. But again,
- 1:14:34Speaker 20: Mike and I Mike again. Mike said it yesterday. Mike
- 1:14:36Speaker 20: wouldn't have taken this job. And you know, this is
- 1:14:38Speaker 20: something we talked about in the interview process. Mike wouldn't
- 1:14:40Speaker 20: have taken this job if we weren't comfortable with each other.
- 1:14:42Speaker 20: There's not going to be Mike's guys or Elliott's guys
- 1:14:46Speaker 20: are going to be Patriot guys and We're excited to
- 1:14:48Speaker 20: share the vision to work together to improve the roster
- 1:14:51Speaker 20: on the offensive line.
- 1:14:52Speaker 19: Where do you view Michael Owen's ideal.
- 1:14:54Speaker 20: I think ideally Mike's a guard, But again, some of
- 1:14:57Speaker 20: those decisions haven't been you know, made yet. Obviously, Mike
- 1:15:00Speaker 20: has played tackle for Josh you know, Doug Moron. I
- 1:15:03Speaker 20: don't believe he's even met him yet. So you know,
- 1:15:04Speaker 20: we're going to get to the point where we'll we'll
- 1:15:07Speaker 20: make the best decision for the team.
- 1:15:09Speaker 19: Clarity in his position as you addressed the line.
- 1:15:11Speaker 20: And I think that would be you know, certainly helpful
- 1:15:14Speaker 20: to Mike and helpful to all of us as we
- 1:15:16Speaker 20: you know, develop a strategy moving forward in free agencies.
- 1:15:20Speaker 11: And strategy experience more how you operate.
- 1:15:23Speaker 17: More like the team.
- 1:15:25Speaker 20: I think maybe just being more thorough, you know, just
- 1:15:27Speaker 20: some of the information that we got on some of
- 1:15:29Speaker 20: the players you know, wasn't wasn't as as thorough as
- 1:15:33Speaker 20: it needed to be. So I think just moving forward,
- 1:15:37Speaker 20: you know, we have we have a tremendous opportunity with
- 1:15:38Speaker 20: this coaching staff. Like a lot of these guys have
- 1:15:41Speaker 20: been other places, They're familiar with these guys and just
- 1:15:44Speaker 20: having that familiarity with with players is going to be
- 1:15:47Speaker 20: an advantage for us moving forward because last year, last year.
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: You saw how I guess expensive that market wasn't free
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: agency last year?
- 1:15:58Speaker 19: Why why are teams investing so much in that position?
- 1:16:02Speaker 20: Yeah, I just think the ability to wreck a game.
- 1:16:03Speaker 20: I mean, these guys that already lead up up front,
- 1:16:06Speaker 20: you know, pushing the middle of the pocket, making the
- 1:16:08Speaker 20: quarterback move, get off the spot like there's a you know,
- 1:16:11Speaker 20: there's a premium on those guys. And that's why you
- 1:16:13Speaker 20: see some of these guys, you know, getting paid and
- 1:16:15Speaker 20: being drafted earlier and because of the impact they can
- 1:16:18Speaker 20: have on all three downs. Two pre Yeah, I mean
- 1:16:30Speaker 20: we're not We're not gonna be you know, frivolous. We're
- 1:16:32Speaker 20: gonna do what we think is best and we're gonna
- 1:16:34Speaker 20: you know, we're gonna again we have to do what's necessary.
- 1:16:37Speaker 20: So last year we didn't do enough of what was necessary.
- 1:16:40Speaker 20: This year, we have to do what's necessary to improve
- 1:16:42Speaker 20: the team.
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: We're weaponizing the offer time fled backed.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: You know, I guess what went wrong with that process
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: and how aggressive need to be that helped Drake May
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: at this.
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: Time of world.
- 1:16:52Speaker 20: Yeah, I mean I think we you know, we took
- 1:16:53Speaker 20: some swings, and again, you know, taking swings ultimately isn't
- 1:16:57Speaker 20: good enough.
- 1:16:57Speaker 18: We went four and thirteen.
- 1:16:59Speaker 20: We have to have results, and so you know, we
- 1:17:01Speaker 20: took some swings at some of those guys and came
- 1:17:03Speaker 20: up short. And that's not an excuse, that's just what happened.
- 1:17:05Speaker 20: So so we we need to continue to improve the roster,
- 1:17:08Speaker 20: whether they're weapons, whether it's the lion, whether it's the defense.
- 1:17:11Speaker 18: Just just in all phases.
- 1:17:14Speaker 11: Cap space this offseason, do you expect to spend up
- 1:17:16Speaker 11: too or close to up to the cap spot.
- 1:17:19Speaker 20: I think again, I just think I just think we're
- 1:17:21Speaker 20: gonna do what we have to do. You know, I
- 1:17:24Speaker 20: think it's probably not responsible to spend the whole thing.
- 1:17:29Speaker 18: But again that's not to say we won't do it.
- 1:17:31Speaker 20: If if there's a player out there that that you know,
- 1:17:33Speaker 20: we're obviously players out there that that can fill a
- 1:17:35Speaker 20: role for us.
- 1:17:37Speaker 21: Two for you in this draft, classic maybe stands out
- 1:17:40Speaker 21: above the rest.
- 1:17:41Speaker 20: I think it's really deep on the defensive line. I
- 1:17:43Speaker 20: think it's really really deep at running back. Tight end
- 1:17:45Speaker 20: is a good year. So you know, those are some
- 1:17:47Speaker 20: of the positions that stand.
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: Up last season on the defensive spine.
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: What's your outlook on that part of the defense moving forward.
- 1:17:54Speaker 20: Yeah, you know, just you know, again not an excuse,
- 1:17:56Speaker 20: but unfortunately losing bar More, losing Bentley, you know, Dugger
- 1:18:00Speaker 20: and Pepper's had their you know issues, you know, with
- 1:18:02Speaker 20: injuries and things during the season. So you know, we're
- 1:18:05Speaker 20: hopeful those guys are going to come back for us
- 1:18:06Speaker 20: and and.
- 1:18:07Speaker 18: You know, help stabilize that area.
- 1:18:09Speaker 20: But again, we need to support them and develop the
- 1:18:11Speaker 20: depth on the roster to be able to compete at
- 1:18:13Speaker 20: a higher.
- 1:18:14Speaker 19: Level and now great moments in.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: History, Paul, what I'm hoping for is that the league
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: handles training camp much like they did the draft, and
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: they make they give mandates for every team to do
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: it a certain way, and that takes the fushure.
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: I think I think we'll be able to cover it
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: like that. We'll be able to get interviews with the
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: coaches and the players online. But I don't think we're
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: going to be able to watch the practice.
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: Yeah, that'll be really poor.
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: I don't think we're going to be able to I
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: don't think we're going to be able to be there. Yeah, well,
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: you don't watch practice any way.
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: I do too.
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: I come out, and even when you do, you don't
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: you see it? Oh?
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Shut up?
- 1:18:58Speaker 18: Here we go, Here we go.
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: Would you think it was gonna be a serious time
- 1:19:01Speaker 4: in the country and I was gonna let you off
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: the hook?
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: How many I make my judgments and they all end
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: up being accurate. That's a slogan, They.
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: All end up being didn't even you didn't even believe
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: it as he was saying it.
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: That's another great moment. All right back here on TATOK
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: filtered from what I understand. Uh, Evan and Deuce are
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: cued up in Indy. Hey guys, how you doing?
- 1:19:34Speaker 7: Hey, how are you?
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: We have a lot to talk about, and the first
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: one is, well, when's the last time you've been to
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: a Starbucks in Indy?
- 1:19:45Speaker 22: I was just at the scene of the crime this
- 1:19:47Speaker 22: morning and I got it away unscathed, so we're good.
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: Ev Was there a chalk outline of Rapaport's.
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: Body, Yeah, there wasn't.
- 1:19:57Speaker 22: But like I swear to God, there is people there
- 1:20:00Speaker 22: that were actually just taking pictures of the Starbucks just
- 1:20:03Speaker 22: to to tweet out the picture, but of being at the.
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: Starbucks, they should get like a plaque sign out side
- 1:20:10Speaker 5: like this.
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: But I was just wondering if if there's any chance
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: that you either of you were a witness to this incident.
- 1:20:18Speaker 23: I mean, it would have been mister coffee over here.
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20:21Speaker 22: No, I had already been been gone for the day
- 1:20:24Speaker 22: at the Starbucks. But that is a it's a great
- 1:20:27Speaker 22: spot if you just want to hang out there and
- 1:20:29Speaker 22: just kind.
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: Of people watch.
- 1:20:31Speaker 22: At the JW it is a nice spot.
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: I've been there. It's on the second floor there, like yeah,
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: but exactly, But what's the repercussions is it's still a
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: big news story going on, and you know, have they
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: set up the pay per view fight yet?
- 1:20:47Speaker 7: We got to ask.
- 1:20:48Speaker 23: There's a lot of NFL network employees wandering around doing
- 1:20:51Speaker 23: interviews around here, so we'll we'll try to get to
- 1:20:53Speaker 23: the bottom of it. But you know, Evan and I
- 1:20:54Speaker 23: have been very concerned with Travis Hunter and the cornerbacks
- 1:20:57Speaker 23: and the tight end class today.
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: Of course, well that's safety and numbers for the NFL network.
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: They have to make sure they protect them so he
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: doesn't have to call security every time. You guys started
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: talking a little bit about the corners and whatnot. Before
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: we move to Travis Hunter, any updates on abdual Carter
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: and which the sort of the scuttle butt is to
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: whether or not this will have any kind of an
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: impact on his status.
- 1:21:24Speaker 23: Paul, First of all, I'm glad to miss I'm glad
- 1:21:26Speaker 23: you used the word scuttle but because we've been using
- 1:21:28Speaker 23: the word scuttle butt all day today. It was our
- 1:21:30Speaker 23: word of the day on the Wrap podcast, So somehow
- 1:21:32Speaker 23: you kept that going.
- 1:21:33Speaker 7: So I appreciate that.
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: It's not because I know, actually.
- 1:21:38Speaker 7: I know, I know, I know. Because it's not out yet.
- 1:21:42Speaker 23: I'm sure you'll watch it as soon as it's out,
- 1:21:43Speaker 23: as all of our content that we write and produce.
- 1:21:48Speaker 23: But yeah, we did see that report about abdual Carter
- 1:21:50Speaker 23: and speaking with some people, some sources, if you will, Uh.
- 1:21:55Speaker 7: Not a big deal.
- 1:21:56Speaker 23: Not a big deal, hasn't been known to be a
- 1:21:59Speaker 23: long term impact kind of injury, not known to drop
- 1:22:02Speaker 23: guys draft status, is what I'm hearing. So as much
- 1:22:06Speaker 23: as we hope that maybe this might be the thing
- 1:22:08Speaker 23: that might drop him down till fourth, overall, it doesn't
- 1:22:12Speaker 23: sound like it's going to be a huge factor that's
- 1:22:14Speaker 23: going to be a long term problem for him.
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: Okay, Fred and I got that one right. Yeah, that's good.
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: What else is going on over there?
- 1:22:22Speaker 7: Fortunately?
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: What what? Who have you? Yeah? Go ahead.
- 1:22:26Speaker 23: Yeah, we did see Travis Hunter, huge gathering around him,
- 1:22:31Speaker 23: very short and to the point, wouldn't answer. You know
- 1:22:35Speaker 23: a lot of people go around here asking.
- 1:22:36Speaker 7: Have you met with the Patriots?
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: Have you met with the Jets?
- 1:22:38Speaker 23: You know that there are those people. He refused to
- 1:22:41Speaker 23: answer any of those questions. He just would would take
- 1:22:44Speaker 23: the take the plead the fifth on that. But he
- 1:22:47Speaker 23: looks like a dude. I mean, he's I think Evin
- 1:22:49Speaker 23: will agree. There's, you know, always a handful of guys
- 1:22:51Speaker 23: here at the Combine that you look up there and
- 1:22:53Speaker 23: you're like, this guy's going to be a player in
- 1:22:54Speaker 23: the league. And he had that kind of charisma and presence.
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: Okay, now you didn't have that same feeling, Mike, and
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: I would agree with you. I'm not throwing you under
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: the bus with Mason Graham.
- 1:23:07Speaker 23: Right right, No, I know it's and especially with the
- 1:23:10Speaker 23: news about Godshaw too, I mean it's it's interesting. It's
- 1:23:14Speaker 23: interesting how they just they might not have any defensive
- 1:23:17Speaker 23: linemen right now. I mean, there's uncertainty with Barmore, there's
- 1:23:20Speaker 23: uncertainly with Devon Godshaw. I mean, you're looking at basically,
- 1:23:23Speaker 23: Jeremiah Farms is your defensive line right now. So even
- 1:23:27Speaker 23: if you if you're not thrilled with Mason Graham not
- 1:23:29Speaker 23: looking like an off the bus guy, I think you
- 1:23:31Speaker 23: got to consider him a little bit closer now today
- 1:23:34Speaker 23: than you might have yesterday. You know, not that I
- 1:23:36Speaker 23: thought that Godshaw was the answer or even like there
- 1:23:39Speaker 23: were anything close to the same kind of player, but
- 1:23:41Speaker 23: they just need bodies at that spot.
- 1:23:43Speaker 7: So you know, everything I think you're hearing.
- 1:23:45Speaker 23: I'm sure you guys have been seeing some of the
- 1:23:46Speaker 23: rumors coming out is that they want to address the trenches.
- 1:23:49Speaker 23: And I assume that they're going to be aggressive on
- 1:23:51Speaker 23: that defensive line before the draft, and then they still
- 1:23:54Speaker 23: might take Mason Graham. So you know, I was thinking
- 1:23:57Speaker 23: about the guy from Detroit who played under Troll Lee
- 1:24:00Speaker 23: on wiser un Zer Working. I can't get you know,
- 1:24:04Speaker 23: you know what I'm talking about. But a guy like
- 1:24:05Speaker 23: that who's a free agent could could definitely make sense.
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: So it's Campbell or it's Graham. Who do you pick
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: at four?
- 1:24:14Speaker 23: I think I think we're both on Campbell right, Yeah,
- 1:24:16Speaker 23: I We'll see what Campbell.
- 1:24:19Speaker 22: You know, when he talks on Saturday. But I think
- 1:24:20Speaker 22: the big thing, you know, Deuce was talking about it
- 1:24:22Speaker 22: with Travis Hunter. There's a lot of appeal to just
- 1:24:25Speaker 22: that that bravado, that gravitas, that guy that can command
- 1:24:29Speaker 22: a room and has all that confidence and charisma For
- 1:24:33Speaker 22: a team like the Patriots that that needs that sort
- 1:24:35Speaker 22: of jolt, like I feel like they need that jump.
- 1:24:38Speaker 22: And maybe it doesn't come from Travis Hunter necessarily, but
- 1:24:41Speaker 22: I feel like Will Campbell from everything that you've heard
- 1:24:43Speaker 22: about him, or the leadership and the attitude and all
- 1:24:46Speaker 22: that kind of stuff, He's one of those types of
- 1:24:48Speaker 22: guys too. So I don't want to make too big
- 1:24:50Speaker 22: of a deal of podium press conferences at the combine,
- 1:24:54Speaker 22: but I I do look at those guys and say,
- 1:24:57Speaker 22: for a team like the Patriots that needs leadership, that
- 1:25:00Speaker 22: needs a culture change, like those types of players are
- 1:25:03Speaker 22: attractive in this draft.
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: Did you guys have a chance to hear from anybody
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: else today that you know sort of caught your eye
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: impressed you? I know, Tyler Warren, I think I saw
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: on Twitter earlier anybody stand out to you guys?
- 1:25:19Speaker 23: Yeah, I mean I think what stood out to me
- 1:25:21Speaker 23: was Colston Lovelin being in a giant arm brace sent
- 1:25:24Speaker 23: me to do some research on him. Looks like he
- 1:25:27Speaker 23: had ac constructive reconstructive surgery. It sounded like he's not
- 1:25:31Speaker 23: going to be able to do any contact for at
- 1:25:32Speaker 23: least six months. So I know Evan's been really high
- 1:25:35Speaker 23: on him. I mean, I think he's right up there
- 1:25:37Speaker 23: with Warren with his athleticism. So that's a you know,
- 1:25:40Speaker 23: we keep talking about some of these injuries kind of
- 1:25:44Speaker 23: kick some guys down to where.
- 1:25:45Speaker 7: The Patriots might be able to select them.
- 1:25:47Speaker 23: And I think that's something Evan and I have talked
- 1:25:49Speaker 23: about a little bit, is there's some appeal in the
- 1:25:52Speaker 23: tight end class.
- 1:25:53Speaker 7: There's not.
- 1:25:53Speaker 23: It doesn't sound like they love the wide receivers in
- 1:25:56Speaker 23: free agency or in the draft, so you know, maybe
- 1:25:58Speaker 23: they do take one of these tight ends. It seems
- 1:26:01Speaker 23: like there's a few of them that that could maybe
- 1:26:02Speaker 23: make an impact out right out.
- 1:26:04Speaker 7: Of the gate.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: And you know, getting back go ahead, Evan, no no.
- 1:26:10Speaker 22: I just we talked to Mason Taylor from LSU a
- 1:26:13Speaker 22: little bit too, and interesting story, you know, with Jason
- 1:26:16Speaker 22: Taylor being his father and Mike Rabel and Jason Taylor
- 1:26:19Speaker 22: were in the same draft class in nineteen ninety seven.
- 1:26:22Speaker 22: So he said that in his meeting with the Patriots
- 1:26:25Speaker 22: here at the Combine with Rabel, they were kind of
- 1:26:28Speaker 22: going back and forth and trash talking a little bit
- 1:26:30Speaker 22: about his dad and things like that. So he's a
- 1:26:33Speaker 22: talented player too, and obviously has the NFL bloodline. So
- 1:26:36Speaker 22: if you're looking for somebody on day two a little
- 1:26:39Speaker 22: bit further down the board than Warren and Colson Lovelin,
- 1:26:42Speaker 22: then Mason Taylor is getting a lot of buzz right
- 1:26:44Speaker 22: now on that Day two range.
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: Okay, so guys, I want to give you a little information.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: You might have already heard this, but as you know,
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: no matter what the subject matter is on Patriots Unfiltered,
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: chances are there's a caller that or listener that has
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: some in info. And when it comes back to this
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: rapaport story not to do with him and Jason Schultz,
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: but with Brady, with Brady and Stafford, we had somebody
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: from Montana who called in and said it's highly likely
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: that this where they met up was a place called
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: the Yellowstone Club, which is an exclusive resort. Have you
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: heard this?
- 1:27:23Speaker 23: Well, when my old bosses in California used to go
- 1:27:26Speaker 23: to the Yellowstone Club, and they would see Brady there
- 1:27:28Speaker 23: all the time, so that was absolutely seems possible to
- 1:27:31Speaker 23: me that he was there. I can't speak to Stafford,
- 1:27:35Speaker 23: but yeah, I know he.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: Was saying, it's it's a highly highly exclusive club. You
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: don't just show up and go skiing or hang out
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: in the club. You either own property there, as Brady does,
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: I believe, or you're invited by somebody who owns property there.
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: So he's saying it's highly unlikely that it was a
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: chance meeting. But you know again, that's that's yeah.
- 1:27:59Speaker 7: That's fair.
- 1:28:00Speaker 23: Yeah, that's exactly what my old bosses. I mean, they
- 1:28:02Speaker 23: used to have to take a private plane there. They
- 1:28:05Speaker 23: told me about you basically have the ski mountain to yourself.
- 1:28:08Speaker 23: I mean it's it's you know, no lines anything like that.
- 1:28:10Speaker 23: There's also just a giant arcade. I mean it's, you know,
- 1:28:13Speaker 23: it's like Disneyland for adults in this ski resort. So
- 1:28:17Speaker 23: but that's interesting. Yeah, I don't know, it's it. I mean,
- 1:28:20Speaker 23: have you guys dove into that. We haven't been paying
- 1:28:21Speaker 23: that much attention.
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: No, we don't know, and we don't know that that's
- 1:28:24Speaker 4: where the Yeah, well, I mean tampering well, that's why
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: do you think that the NFL network came out so
- 1:28:32Speaker 4: quickly to say they just happened to bump into each other.
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: You know, nothing to see here?
- 1:28:37Speaker 7: Whoa, whoa, whoa?
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: Nothing to see here? Move along?
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: So, yes, I think there was probably some tampering going on.
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: Dudes. Yeh.
- 1:28:44Speaker 23: Can this keep going on with Brady like him being
- 1:28:46Speaker 23: an owner and a broadcaster.
- 1:28:48Speaker 7: It's just it seems like there are conflicts popping up.
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: I agree to it. I think he's on thin ice.
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: I think just eventually I think this.
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: If he was with the Patriots, it would be fine,
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: it would be okay.
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, me too. All right, So what else do
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: you have because we need to get back to the show.
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: I'm only two and anything else before we let you go?
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: What else?
- 1:29:11Speaker 7: What else can we what else can we share?
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: Well?
- 1:29:14Speaker 22: I feel like we touched on Travis Hunter a little bit,
- 1:29:17Speaker 22: but I just I think the one thing you take
- 1:29:20Speaker 22: away from you know what's going on here with Travis
- 1:29:23Speaker 22: Hunter is there's a lot more people that keep on
- 1:29:25Speaker 22: saying he's a wide receiver over cornerback.
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: I heard your buddy Alex talk about that this morning, Yev.
- 1:29:31Speaker 22: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's it's really there's a lot more people.
- 1:29:36Speaker 22: And I think Andrew Barry of the Browns, the general
- 1:29:39Speaker 22: manager there in Cleveland, he said it publicly in his
- 1:29:42Speaker 22: press conference that the Browns have him on their board
- 1:29:44Speaker 22: as a wide receiver, and ever since that, everybody feels
- 1:29:47Speaker 22: a little bit more comfortable to put their flag on
- 1:29:50Speaker 22: Travis Hunter being a wide receiver. And that's becoming a
- 1:29:54Speaker 22: very popular take here at the combine, which is interesting
- 1:29:57Speaker 22: because everybody says he has better cornerback tape, but I
- 1:30:00Speaker 22: think just the impact that he can make at receiver
- 1:30:03Speaker 22: for your team is just a lot higher than it
- 1:30:05Speaker 22: is for a cornerback, just from a positional value standpoint.
- 1:30:09Speaker 22: So all right there, that's a one that's definitely going
- 1:30:12Speaker 22: around now, is that the more and more people are
- 1:30:15Speaker 22: coming out of the woodwork saying that he's a wide receiver.
- 1:30:19Speaker 23: I just add, we didn't talk to you guys yesterday,
- 1:30:21Speaker 23: but the defensive line class, the linebackers, there's just a
- 1:30:25Speaker 23: lot of really intriguing players, and it's a little bit
- 1:30:27Speaker 23: frustrating because you want a bunch of them, but I
- 1:30:30Speaker 23: think they've got to find a way to get some
- 1:30:32Speaker 23: of these guys.
- 1:30:33Speaker 7: We talked to Elliott a little bit about it yesterday.
- 1:30:35Speaker 23: Trying to figure out, you know, who's the right fit,
- 1:30:37Speaker 23: what kind of style, and you know, everything continues to
- 1:30:40Speaker 23: point towards it. And I heard Paul talking about this
- 1:30:43Speaker 23: earlier in the show of their kind of shifting their
- 1:30:45Speaker 23: their defensive style, and this is going to be more
- 1:30:47Speaker 23: a you know, go get the quarterback, stop the run
- 1:30:49Speaker 23: on the way to the quarterback kind of thing, less
- 1:30:52Speaker 23: build the wall to gapping. And I also heard you
- 1:30:54Speaker 23: guys talking about Godshaw with that stuff as well. So
- 1:30:57Speaker 23: I think they're going to have to remake the defensive line,
- 1:30:59Speaker 23: and it is probably the right here in the draft
- 1:31:00Speaker 23: to do it.
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: I know he's out alignment, but Harold Landry is supposed
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: to be might be available. You guys interested in him?
- 1:31:08Speaker 7: Sure?
- 1:31:09Speaker 22: Yeah, yeah, I would be interested in him. And we
- 1:31:11Speaker 22: talked a little bit about that on Catch twenty two yesterday.
- 1:31:14Speaker 22: Because you're going with that Commander's model of trying to
- 1:31:18Speaker 22: get you know, eight ten.
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: Just capable quality starters.
- 1:31:22Speaker 22: I feel like, even though he's not necessarily a superstar player,
- 1:31:26Speaker 22: Harold Landry would fit into that category of a veteran
- 1:31:29Speaker 22: guy that's done it, that has production in the league.
- 1:31:32Speaker 22: He's still only twenty eight years old, so obviously the
- 1:31:35Speaker 22: familiarity with Ray Bowl. There's a lot of reasons to
- 1:31:39Speaker 22: like that one. I kind of like that one more
- 1:31:41Speaker 22: than some of the other one like veteran you know,
- 1:31:43Speaker 22: at the end of their career options that are being
- 1:31:46Speaker 22: thrown out there.
- 1:31:47Speaker 4: I would probably go with Harold Landry. Okay, we're all
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: in agreement on that one.
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: Are you guys eating well?
- 1:31:53Speaker 23: Well some of us, some of us didn't eat so
- 1:31:56Speaker 23: well earlier in the week, and that we're paying the
- 1:31:57Speaker 23: price for it the last couple of days. So but
- 1:32:00Speaker 23: we did have you know, thank you to no socks
- 1:32:03Speaker 23: into a show who made a you know, made the
- 1:32:05Speaker 23: run to Shapiro's for some sandwiches here today and got
- 1:32:09Speaker 23: personally got me back on track. I feel like after
- 1:32:12Speaker 23: taking down a turkey rubin. So I can't speak for Evan.
- 1:32:15Speaker 23: I've been on kind of my own journey here in Indianapolis.
- 1:32:17Speaker 7: Okay, without getting into too much detail.
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: Speaking of journeys, Evan, your friend Barth, yes, at this point,
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: if you talked to him about his expectations, would you
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: say it so far did the combine meet his expectations?
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: A little disappointing or exceed his expectations.
- 1:32:37Speaker 22: I haven't gotten a straight answer from him on that.
- 1:32:39Speaker 22: I'll ask him for you, but I would say it's
- 1:32:42Speaker 22: got to be exceeds. Last night was certainly a good
- 1:32:47Speaker 22: knight for Barth. He had the shrimp cocktail for the
- 1:32:49Speaker 22: first time at Saint Elmo's, so that was an experience.
- 1:32:54Speaker 22: You know. The night before was probably even more of
- 1:32:57Speaker 22: an experience, but we'll save that for another time. But yeah, no,
- 1:33:00Speaker 22: he he's had he's had a very a very good combine.
- 1:33:04Speaker 22: I told him last night was really like he did
- 1:33:06Speaker 22: the combine last night, you know, like he had the
- 1:33:08Speaker 22: cocktail sauce. He went to Prime forty seven a little
- 1:33:11Speaker 22: bit afterwards, so he really nailed it.
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: One nights ago, might he have visited an establishment for men?
- 1:33:22Speaker 4: No, oh, No, he's grinding.
- 1:33:24Speaker 23: He's making radio appearances at like ten thirty at night. Yeah,
- 1:33:27Speaker 23: wakes back up and he's back on the radio with
- 1:33:29Speaker 23: seven thirty.
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: I heard him.
- 1:33:31Speaker 23: Look, we're back in our hotels at like seven pm.
- 1:33:34Speaker 23: He's doing a podcast. I mean he's uh. I think
- 1:33:37Speaker 23: he's really staking his claim here in Indy. So he's
- 1:33:39Speaker 23: doing a great job.
- 1:33:40Speaker 7: That one other little barth nugget for you guys.
- 1:33:43Speaker 22: He last night it's uh, he's on the phone doing
- 1:33:47Speaker 22: a radio hit at night, and we were we were migrating,
- 1:33:51Speaker 22: you know, from relocating. Let's put you that a way
- 1:33:53Speaker 22: from one spot to another, and uh, someone's voice might
- 1:33:57Speaker 22: be on ninety eighty five yelling for Alex to hurry
- 1:34:01Speaker 22: up so that we can get in the hooper to
- 1:34:03Speaker 22: go to the next spot. So someone made an impromptu
- 1:34:07Speaker 22: appearance on nine eighty five the Sports Up last night.
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: So there we go. All right, sounds like you're having
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: fun doing a lot of work. What's next? What do
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: we have to look forward to for tomorrow and the weekend?
- 1:34:20Speaker 7: Yeah, well we're excited.
- 1:34:21Speaker 23: We're gonna we have access to the workouts now, so
- 1:34:24Speaker 23: I think Evan and I this afternoon are gonna head
- 1:34:26Speaker 23: over and take some of those in in person. So
- 1:34:28Speaker 23: those would be the defensive line and the linebackers. And
- 1:34:31Speaker 23: then tomorrow's kind of a big day with the quarterbacks,
- 1:34:34Speaker 23: the wide receivers, and the running backs. A lot of
- 1:34:36Speaker 23: people saying the running back class really solid this year,
- 1:34:39Speaker 23: so excited to hear from them, and yeah, then that'll
- 1:34:42Speaker 23: be it. We're tapping out tomorrow night. So another wrap
- 1:34:45Speaker 23: up pod coming this afternoon one tomorrow and a couple
- 1:34:47Speaker 23: write up seven. We'll be writing up the workouts. So yeah,
- 1:34:50Speaker 23: we're we're.
- 1:34:51Speaker 7: Getting close to the end, but not quite so we
- 1:34:53Speaker 7: still got a bunch to do.
- 1:34:54Speaker 22: Yeah, we got your guy on tomorrow with us. The
- 1:34:56Speaker 22: Beast Damn Brugler is going to be on Draft Countdown podcast.
- 1:35:01Speaker 7: We couldn't find anyone from our lads, but we'll looking hub.
- 1:35:04Speaker 4: Hub wasn't available. I just want to make sure you
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: two guys the buddy system at all times. I don't
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: want any I don't want Jordan Schultz cornering either one
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: of you guys at a Starbucks. So stay together, buddy system.
- 1:35:17Speaker 4: I can't afford to lose any personnel.
- 1:35:19Speaker 7: Right, We'll be careful.
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: All right, guys, thanks for calling in. We'll talk to
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: you later.
- 1:35:26Speaker 7: Thanks boys, guys, Right.
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: All right. Evan indues from Indy.
- 1:35:32Speaker 4: It's it's so funny listening and I know they would
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: know the joking around. We're having a lot of fun
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: at Alex's expense, But listening to Alex talk about this stuff,
- 1:35:41Speaker 4: I've heard a couple of his because he has been
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: on Felgrin mas a lot. He's but he was on
- 1:35:46Speaker 4: this Morning with with Toucher and and Hardy, and he
- 1:35:49Speaker 4: just sounds so excited all the time. It's just he can't.
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: He's like he actually sins. Like you know when you
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: know you're just walking down the street and you know
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: you're seeing the coaches and the gms, you know, the
- 1:36:01Speaker 4: guys that you see on TV.
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, this is Hollywood for him.
- 1:36:05Speaker 4: It's like, yes, like you ran into Andrew Berry, the
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: general manager of the Cleveland Browns, Like no, this is
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: this is not like he's at the Yellowstone Club in
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: Montana and he's seeing actual celebrities.
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: This is his Academy Awards night, Like you know, it's
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: very much. Yeah, he's in the audience with all the
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: big stars. So good for him. Let's see. John writes
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: in from Nova Scotia. Friend and Paul, you are like
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: two stereotypical old guys. You keep talking over Alex. Other
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: than that, keep up the good work.
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: I haven't really noticed that the stereotypical old guys.
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: Absolutely are we talking over youith?
- 1:36:47Speaker 4: Have we talked over you? I apologize for you.
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: You can say if we.
- 1:36:50Speaker 5: Are, probably, but I'll just repeat myself.
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: Not that we're gonna stop, but you can tell us.
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: That we teach you guys where the billionaires hang out.
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: You can also just say shut up, I'm talking. Go
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: ahead and say that you could do that.
- 1:37:03Speaker 5: We'll save that for when it's really necessary. But you
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: probably get ripped out at one point.
- 1:37:07Speaker 4: Do that to me. I would just doin it to me,
- 1:37:09Speaker 4: not to Fred. Fred's woke up one.
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: Let's go to the TPX hotline until March for us. Dan,
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: It's in Colorado. What's up Dan?
- 1:37:20Speaker 17: Hey, guys, thanks for taking the call. I have a
- 1:37:22Speaker 17: story I wanted to share with you guys really quick.
- 1:37:24Speaker 17: This is going to be mainly for fallen spread Now.
- 1:37:28Speaker 17: I just liked air at the appropriate amount as much
- 1:37:30Speaker 17: as anyone did. I loved giving him a craft just
- 1:37:32Speaker 17: as much as anyone. However, there is something that he
- 1:37:34Speaker 17: may have been right about that completely blew my mind
- 1:37:37Speaker 17: in the moment. So this past summer, my wife and
- 1:37:40Speaker 17: I went on our honeymoon. We went to Italy for
- 1:37:43Speaker 17: two weeks. It was very nice and one of the
- 1:37:44Speaker 17: places we stayed was in Verona, which is one of
- 1:37:47Speaker 17: the wine countries in Italy. And as we were doing
- 1:37:51Speaker 17: some wine tours. We're coming to the end of the day.
- 1:37:53Speaker 17: We see this winery that looks like it's closing out.
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: We go for its tasting.
- 1:37:56Speaker 17: We meet the owner. He's really nice. He takes us
- 1:37:58Speaker 17: back to give us a bottle of one and to
- 1:38:00Speaker 17: open a bottle of wine for us. I wouldn't believe it.
- 1:38:03Speaker 17: The second he opened the bottle of wine, the first
- 1:38:05Speaker 17: thing he did was sniff the freaking cork.
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: So I thought that you should have left immediately, and.
- 1:38:11Speaker 17: I demanded to know why he sniffed the cork. I
- 1:38:13Speaker 17: couldn't stop thinking of Eric in that moment, and he'd
- 1:38:16Speaker 17: explained to me how supposedly, yes, you can smell impurities
- 1:38:20Speaker 17: in the wine or something like that, but either way,
- 1:38:22Speaker 17: he said it and did it in such a duchey
- 1:38:23Speaker 17: Eric way that like I couldn't help but just last
- 1:38:25Speaker 17: the whole time. And so I spent the rest of
- 1:38:28Speaker 17: my honeymoon completely mind blowing that Eric might have been right,
- 1:38:31Speaker 17: that you do actually sniff the cork for a reason. Okay,
- 1:38:34Speaker 17: waiting for months to share that story with you guys.
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: Help it.
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: That's great, great stuffs awesome, all right, thanks, thanks Dan,
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: appreciate that you know do you hear about that, Alex,
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: that long standing argument we had. No, I've been told
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: by Somalier's you know what that is, of course, because
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: you're sophisticated, that the whole sniffing of the cork is
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: you don't need to do that.
- 1:38:57Speaker 5: Okay, it's performative.
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: Yeah, but Eric was dead, Oh you have to do it.
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: So we've gone back and forth, you know, for a
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: long time on that, Yes, and people have called in with.
- 1:39:08Speaker 5: Right, you got to just keep smelling it now.
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I don't think I Either one of us
- 1:39:14Speaker 4: ever claims that Eric's pomposity was unique to him, Like, oh,
- 1:39:19Speaker 4: there's a lot of pompous people on the planet.
- 1:39:21Speaker 3: Oh sure, right, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: So evidently Dan ran his wife ran into.
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: One right right now. But I mean, listen, I don't know,
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: but I was told by Somalier that you don't need
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: to sniff the cork, it's it.
- 1:39:38Speaker 5: Yeah, goes into that. I'd probably trust the smell.
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: Yeah, he said, like if if the wine has gone bad,
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: you're gonna know it, like when you open up the bottle.
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:39:48Speaker 4: You're a big wine drinker, Alex.
- 1:39:51Speaker 5: I like wine. It's probably one of my top three choices.
- 1:39:54Speaker 5: If I'm going to drink, it's probably a red wine.
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: I like it when you know somebody has the wine
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: glass and you know, they do this and then they
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: just take their whole face and they put it in
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: and they like, you know, no, no, no, no, they smell
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: like they take the you know, they smell like like
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: they're really into it. Yeah, hards.
- 1:40:17Speaker 5: Formative.
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I.
- 1:40:21Speaker 5: Like, no one who actually knows that much about wine. Like,
- 1:40:25Speaker 5: if you're that involved with it, you're probably not going
- 1:40:27Speaker 5: to make a big show out of it.
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: I just know if it comes with a screw top,
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: it may not be that good. Yeah.
- 1:40:32Speaker 4: Or in a box, Yeah, you really want to stay
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: away from the box.
- 1:40:36Speaker 18: To box no formal artistic.
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: But I will tell you, like, I am far from
- 1:40:42Speaker 3: a wine connoisseur or expert, but Bledsoe's premium cabernet and
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: it's excellent. You can tell the difference. You can tell
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: the difference.
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: Did I tell you that Will and his girlfriend drank
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: my bottle of bloodso wine?
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: Oh? Really?
- 1:41:00Speaker 5: Man?
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: Were you pissed? Yeah?
- 1:41:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean at least if it was going to
- 1:41:04Speaker 4: get open, I was gonna drink.
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: Do you need another one?
- 1:41:07Speaker 4: I got a names longer as you can get it
- 1:41:09Speaker 4: for the bagel.
- 1:41:09Speaker 3: No, no, because his thing saw I'm on like the
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: list because I bought a couple of times. Yeah, and
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: they'll come out. Okay, we just came out with our
- 1:41:18Speaker 3: twenty twenty five you know, cab or whatever. But you
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: have to buy like a minimum of like five bottles
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: or something like that, and each bottle is like over
- 1:41:27Speaker 3: two hundred dollars. I'm not doing that. I don't drink
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: that much wine.
- 1:41:30Speaker 5: Probably has to be.
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't drink that much wine.
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: Plus he autographed for me.
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: Yeah, well that's gone. Yeah, that's terrible.
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: Your son opened now. I don't want to get your
- 1:41:40Speaker 5: son in trouble. But like he saw that it was
- 1:41:43Speaker 5: autographed and still.
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: I'm assuming he didn't see that part of it.
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, i'd be pissed too.
- 1:41:51Speaker 4: Don't with that girl anymore.
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: H real, she.
- 1:41:53Speaker 5: Doesn't even know what she drank probably the significance.
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: That's crazy. I'm over it.
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: Ryan writes in I've been listening for the last five years,
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: and like everyone else, have their favorite callers on this show,
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: and some that rubbed me the wrong way. But is
- 1:42:10Speaker 3: there anyone even remotely close to how terrible Christian in
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: la is Wow Wow Listener on Listener Crime like It.
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: It's like Jordan Schultz and Ian Rabbitport.
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: The only thing more out of touch than his tax
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: bracket comment is his football acumen. His rehearse questions and
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: clueless follow ups are the worst part of the show.
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: He's the type of person who starts talking to you
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: about sports at a bar and you need to move
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: two stools over. We don't know how you made that
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: tax bracket, but we're confident you didn't make your fortune
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: in sports.
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: I would agree with the the tax bracket comment.
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: Kind of did he actually say he's in that tax bracket?
- 1:42:51Speaker 4: I think saying he works for somebody who's in that
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: tax tacket or something like that. But I thought he
- 1:42:58Speaker 4: brought the The question today was about the draft, like
- 1:43:01Speaker 4: moving in the draft, you know what, you know. I
- 1:43:05Speaker 4: thought there was some good conversation that came out of it.
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: Now, Christian was fine today, But we just mean I'll
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: always read, I'll always made the listener on Listener even
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: I'm here for it. I mean, that's good. That's good theater.
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: He yeah, now you've got a fire back, Christian.
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: That's good theater.
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: Servant volley.
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: Let's see Spian Fresno writes in first on Fred's distinction
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: between surgery versus procedure. On Monday, I had an outpatient
- 1:43:31Speaker 3: surgical procedure where I went completely under, including intubation, but
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: was able to walk out of the hospital the same day.
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: So was that surgery or procedure? That's a procedure intubation. Yeah,
- 1:43:41Speaker 3: that sounds like you walked out that day.
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: So it's strictly this is I love a peek into
- 1:43:48Speaker 4: Fred's soul. Yeah, that's the sole criteria. Yeah, if it's
- 1:43:52Speaker 4: if you're able to do it in one day. I
- 1:43:54Speaker 4: mean so basically the time of day that you have
- 1:43:56Speaker 4: the surgery.
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: So all procedures are surgery. I get it. But in
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: my mind, if you're in and out in a day, then.
- 1:44:05Speaker 4: I think if you if you're like, it's not just
- 1:44:09Speaker 4: a local anesthetic you have like real Yeah, you're.
- 1:44:13Speaker 3: Foot under it for a day, I mean gone out
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: that same day. And that's just I had like a
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: like one of those mesh hernia things you had to
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: put in.
- 1:44:20Speaker 4: H I think that's a surgery, all.
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: Right, But I think it's a procedure because I was
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: it was.
- 1:44:24Speaker 4: Like I was fine walked out to break the time.
- 1:44:27Speaker 3: But like a facelift procedure, unless unless you're in the like,
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: unless you're like a pretty extensive.
- 1:44:35Speaker 4: Procedure, they do call it elective surgery.
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel like the parameter for me is do
- 1:44:41Speaker 5: you absolutely need it?
- 1:44:43Speaker 4: Surgery that's a whole different not maybe.
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: Like you could maybe get by without it for a
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: little bit, but you're just gonna go clean it up,
- 1:44:52Speaker 5: clean up the knee procedure.
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: Okay, I don't know.
- 1:44:56Speaker 5: I just formed this opinion minutes ago.
- 1:44:58Speaker 3: I know you can you die on the tape. That's
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: a surgery, so well you can die on I know,
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: but I'm gonna yeah, that's.
- 1:45:05Speaker 5: Like how many people go for aesthetic surgery.
- 1:45:07Speaker 4: But let's go to Ali. So if you tear your ACL,
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: you don't need it. I know a lot of people
- 1:45:13Speaker 4: that have torn their acls. They've been walking around for
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: twenty five years.
- 1:45:17Speaker 3: Two people.
- 1:45:18Speaker 4: Yeah, but if you get the surgery, surgery, that's a surgery,
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: that's a yeah, that's it's a major surgery, right, Yeah,
- 1:45:28Speaker 4: but you don't need it.
- 1:45:29Speaker 5: You need it to play again.
- 1:45:30Speaker 4: Yeah, But I'm just saying, like in regular, regular pain.
- 1:45:32Speaker 5: Average Joe like us, right, you still might need the surgery.
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: I had a girlfriend who tore ACL her senior year
- 1:45:39Speaker 4: or high school. She played four years of college and
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: I this was like ten years later. She hadn't still
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: hadn't had it done.
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: But it is a surgery because.
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: She wasn't, you know, going pro or anything and needed
- 1:45:53Speaker 4: to have an intact ACL to live her life.
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: Right. Remember who was it, Jimmy Hitchcock had he had
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: no ACLS player on a team cornerback. See, I remember
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: some people you do, but.
- 1:46:08Speaker 4: You're very much like me, back to the original premisseres,
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: the two old guys.
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: Well, that's why he's impressive. It's like before all the
- 1:46:14Speaker 5: medical technology and stuff like, you couldn't just go to
- 1:46:16Speaker 5: Germany or Mexico to get or Costa to get like
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: stem cells right injections or whatever else they're doing.
- 1:46:22Speaker 3: Now, speed goes on, he said. Second the Adam Schefter
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: he means Ian Rappaport, Josh Schultz, b Jordan is the
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: best part of the off season so far, though I'm
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: speaking as someone who's bored to tears by mock draft season.
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: I want the conflict to escalate into something even more
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: ridiculous and have come up with some names for the
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: coming bout if it takes Blake's, if it takes place
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: at a Starbucks, the Frappacino face off, the Mocha mayhem,
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: the Starbucks skirmish, the Grande grudge match, or the Venti Vendetta.
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: If instead the slopes of Monte and A play host
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: to the scuffle, Snowbound showdown, Alpine brawl, Frosty fisticuffs, powder
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: punch up, or Cashmere clash.
- 1:47:10Speaker 4: Okay, Cashmere clash not bad. Yeah, but I definitely.
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: About the Yellowstone Yahoo, definitely.
- 1:47:18Speaker 4: Going to continue to monitor that situation if it escalates.
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: Well, security has already been brought in, Paul So I
- 1:47:25Speaker 3: guess Ian Rappaport has twenty four hour detail around him.
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: Now yeah, yeah, that's something though, isn't it.
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: Security?
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: Well, first of all, like okay, if I'm Jordan Schultz,
- 1:47:40Speaker 3: Like if I'm Jordan Schultz, Okay, I want to talk
- 1:47:42Speaker 3: to this guy, but you don't confront him like that,
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: You like you do different like different story, but even
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: like standing out in front of a Starbucks to do it,
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: like wait until like he's you know, in the lobby
- 1:47:56Speaker 3: and you sit on a couch next to him and
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: you say, hey, I need to talk to you.
- 1:47:59Speaker 5: You don't do it like a lot of people Twitter
- 1:48:01Speaker 5: fingers though, and you see them face to face and
- 1:48:04Speaker 5: you want to be like, so what's up, and they're
- 1:48:06Speaker 5: going to be a little bit bored about it, Like, no, say.
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: He did the problem. He did this as a thing
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: to promote Starbucks. I don't you think, so, oh yeah,
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: this is a ploy.
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: But then now people know he's his son.
- 1:48:18Speaker 4: This is why, this is why we need to take
- 1:48:21Speaker 4: notes and learn from Fred. Yeah, that's brilliant.
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: It's a ploy. How many times have we as a
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: duncan you know? Let me make sure mentioned the competitors.
- 1:48:33Speaker 4: I believes this is what he's a former.
- 1:48:35Speaker 3: He waited, he founded it. He waited for him to
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: be at Starbucks and he did it there to promote Starbucks.
- 1:48:42Speaker 3: So that's it.
- 1:48:42Speaker 4: I think that's brilliant, former, former CEO.
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: Former, It's not that kills it. I'm sure he maybe
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: has stock a lot.
- 1:48:51Speaker 5: Of is that on the SuperSonics his dad on the SuperSonics.
- 1:48:56Speaker 3: Owned not anymore?
- 1:49:01Speaker 4: Probably wondering how if he's going to be able to
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: get a new Hunter accord like me.
- 1:49:08Speaker 3: Let's see Will Wrights in from Kentucky. I'm pretty sure
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: that Paul has the tampering thing wrong, and not by
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: a little bit. Teams can talk to teams about a
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: player still under contract at any time, just no trades
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: are possible until the legal tampering period begins. I don't
- 1:49:25Speaker 3: think that's true.
- 1:49:26Speaker 4: But he says it can inquire about a player, but
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: we're talking about talking about yeah players.
- 1:49:34Speaker 3: The player or the agent. That's different. Couldn't find the
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: exact words in the rule book. And NFL tampering is
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: when a team contacts a player outside the league's permitted
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: negotiation windows. What we just said, the league created the
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: legal tampering period to prevent backdoor deals and to prevent
- 1:49:50Speaker 3: a level playing field for teams.
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: Yeah, and again, if you want to make it innocent, yeah,
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: I can understand it. And he's right. The email is right.
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: Like if Robert Kraft is talking to my Brown and
- 1:50:00Speaker 4: he's saying, what are your plans with T Higgins, Like,
- 1:50:06Speaker 4: that's not tampering. Yep, you know, so the email is right.
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: I understand that. But my my assumption is more along
- 1:50:14Speaker 4: the lines of it's not that innocent. You're sort of
- 1:50:18Speaker 4: trying to find out what it's going to take to
- 1:50:20Speaker 4: sign them. You're gonna you're at you know that kind
- 1:50:22Speaker 4: of stuff, and you're talking to the representatives of Higgins.
- 1:50:26Speaker 4: But the email is right, He's right.
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: Yep, I'm wrong Trent and Sylvan Lake as a grown
- 1:50:31Speaker 3: man who wears his hat backwards. I had to chime
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: in Freddie on Tuesday, you had a woman telling you
- 1:50:37Speaker 3: that ladies like the backwards hat look, and you argued
- 1:50:41Speaker 3: with her. That's like Evan arguing with Brad Stevens about
- 1:50:44Speaker 3: the name of an arena in Indiana. Take it from
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: the person who knows. But the bigger revelation was that
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: fred actually uses the peopole on his underwear to pee
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: out of I'm sorry, but that's insane.
- 1:50:56Speaker 4: That was odd myself.
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: Oh no, but do you wear Tommy John? I wear boxers, right,
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: So Tommy John has a patented thing, and it's pretty good.
- 1:51:06Speaker 3: If you were in your underwear backwards, it's of no use.
- 1:51:08Speaker 4: To understand that your problem was that they were on backwards, right.
- 1:51:11Speaker 4: But I would never use that.
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: Uh. Do you go through the zipper on your jeans too?
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: You must have a couple of hipper scars. You don't
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: never pants. But you have them down in your ankles. Yeah,
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: what you're doing, you don't undo the whole thing.
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: Have you ever gotten a car?
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: Theah, When I was four.
- 1:51:31Speaker 4: I got it, Thank you, Thank you, Matt.
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: When I was four, I got it.
- 1:51:34Speaker 4: I've never gotten a car, okay, and I never will.
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: But I haven't because I never was before.
- 1:51:38Speaker 4: I never put myself in jeopardy, Alex.
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: I haven't since I was four. Do you remember Everybody
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: Loves the Marry? Remember when that scene was unbelievable? Do
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: you ever see that movie? Oh, it's with Ben Stiller.
- 1:51:53Speaker 4: There's something, there's something about Mary.
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: You have to see that. I have to.
- 1:52:00Speaker 18: Like.
- 1:52:00Speaker 3: There's not a lot of movies like the movies where
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: you go ahead to be in the theater and you laugh.
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: But yeah, this is one of the few movies where
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: I lost it in the theater.
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: You know, when everybody tells you, you know, you have
- 1:52:11Speaker 4: to have the steaks there, it's you have to see
- 1:52:14Speaker 4: this movie, like whatever the you know, whatever it is,
- 1:52:16Speaker 4: it never lives up right. Everybody told me this is
- 1:52:19Speaker 4: one of the funniest movies they've ever seen, and I
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: was like, there's no way I'm going to see it.
- 1:52:23Speaker 4: But I'm going to be disappointed. I was not disappointed.
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: It was that funny.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: It was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: in the theater.
- 1:52:31Speaker 4: Okay, we're there's.
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: Definitely a correlation between kids who drop their pants all
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: the way to the floor to peek and men who
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: use the flat. Wow. So he's telling me, I'm like that.
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: I hate to bring Paul's little poll into this, but
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: if he could start another tally, that would be great.
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: Do you go over the underwear or through the door?
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: I got to believe ninety five to ninety nine percent
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: of men go over the top rope. Thank you for
- 1:52:56Speaker 3: the decades of yer. See if I'm wearing tidy whitey
- 1:52:59Speaker 3: so when I use to wear those, I would I
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: would not go through the door. But I'm telling you
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: the Tommy John's make it very convenient. You don't have
- 1:53:08Speaker 3: to get undressed to go to the bathroom. But you really.
- 1:53:13Speaker 4: You go through the zipper too? Yeah, you just like
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: roll the dice.
- 1:53:17Speaker 3: Yeah, like I said since I was four years old
- 1:53:20Speaker 3: that what happened to me.
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: At the edge. I can't do it. I can't, Okay,
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: I feel like yeah, yeah, all right, mess dripping issues Okay.
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: Let's see Travis in West Virginia says, once again, I
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: had an issue with the email of the week. Not
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: only was it a little long winded, it was shameless,
- 1:53:45Speaker 3: but kissing that should not be encouraged. Uh and random.
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: If you call matc grow macroe, no one would ever
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: know the difference. I don't know what that means. But
- 1:53:56Speaker 3: he's saying that mac Roe's kind of lost his stature.
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: Would in the organization. I don't know. I don't know
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: what that means.
- 1:54:06Speaker 4: Uh, Matt always over the top, rope, always over the top.
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: I would never how about under the side.
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: But what kind of underwear do you wear under the side?
- 1:54:14Speaker 24: It's only happened after I'm working out?
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: Okay, what kind of underwear do you wear?
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: I have boxers?
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: Okay, well usually boxers are easy. Say like the tidy
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: whities are weird, you know, like they.
- 1:54:26Speaker 4: Have won tidy whities since I was like, yeah, yeah,
- 1:54:30Speaker 4: they're probably a little older than that. Yeah maybe six.
- 1:54:32Speaker 3: See, I don't know. In some way, In some way,
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: girls have it easier, like there's no decision to be made,
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: you got to drop.
- 1:54:40Speaker 5: Draw You guys can go anywhere as long as no
- 1:54:43Speaker 5: one sees you let go anywhere.
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: Yeah, we can't facts. Yeah. I was with a girl
- 1:54:50Speaker 3: one night where at the Compass Lounge in Dennisport, and
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: she's like, I have to go to the bath. She
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: went behind a car. I was appalled over. It's really
- 1:54:59Speaker 3: tricky basically.
- 1:55:01Speaker 4: Basically, Yeah, I've been with not necessarily on dates, but
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: I've been out with like my friends and I've had
- 1:55:08Speaker 4: girls do that, go outside but discreetly.
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: Well I could see you know, birds of a feather, Paul,
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: but you side of the road, you know they Yeah, that.
- 1:55:17Speaker 4: Was that was Panic Central, I'll tell you. And that
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: that was that was that was Egen.
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: This was before you were you know, Patriots famous, right
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: or was it? Could I mean, could it be possible
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: that someone was driving is.
- 1:55:30Speaker 4: That poulp Yes, it was before I was working for you, Okay,
- 1:55:33Speaker 4: I was at the Herald then.
- 1:55:35Speaker 3: Because that could have been an incident, and I would put.
- 1:55:38Speaker 4: It around ninety five six seven in that area.
- 1:55:42Speaker 3: Someone recognizes you and it could have happened. It could
- 1:55:45Speaker 3: have happened. Barsol sports Jacket and Arbor wants to know
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: what to score. The Celtics Pistons game was yesterday, as
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: TV broke they.
- 1:55:53Speaker 4: Got blown out when seventeen ninety seven.
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: Yeah, they did not play well.
- 1:55:58Speaker 4: Listen, it was the Celtics were playing have been I
- 1:56:01Speaker 4: don't no, no, no, I'm not going to make an excuse.
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: I said, the Celtics have been playing extremely well and
- 1:56:07Speaker 4: the Pistons have been playing extremely well. I think it
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: was a much more important game for Detroit. I think
- 1:56:12Speaker 4: they took it very seriously. I think that it was
- 1:56:14Speaker 4: the second of a back to back for the Celtics,
- 1:56:16Speaker 4: so I guess I am making a little bit of
- 1:56:17Speaker 4: an excuse. I think it was kind of to be expected.
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: Yeah, well, a lot of people said it was a
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: bad spot.
- 1:56:25Speaker 4: No Jalen Brown, second night of a back to back,
- 1:56:28Speaker 4: Piston's red hot with something to prove. But I think
- 1:56:31Speaker 4: that Pistons team, by the way, I think I don't
- 1:56:33Speaker 4: know this year, but that's a team that's that's on
- 1:56:36Speaker 4: the ride.
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: I'm to the point with the Celtics like they should
- 1:56:41Speaker 3: win every night. Like I think they're that good if
- 1:56:44Speaker 3: they play their game.
- 1:56:45Speaker 4: So I don't know if they're that good, if everybody
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: else is that bad, huh, I don't know if they're
- 1:56:50Speaker 4: Like I think it's like three teams that I think, like,
- 1:56:53Speaker 4: like I think, okay, see is that good? You know Cleveland?
- 1:56:57Speaker 4: I mean Cleveland only has ten losses. I mean it
- 1:56:59Speaker 4: is what it is.
- 1:57:00Speaker 3: I know, but I think two of them are from
- 1:57:03Speaker 3: the Celtics.
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: Everybody else is just kind of man yeah, like there's
- 1:57:07Speaker 4: no like, no, that's true. There's no really like the
- 1:57:09Speaker 4: Knicks to me, or as averages average can be. You know,
- 1:57:12Speaker 4: there like three games behind the Celtics.
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: I know, but whenever they play a team like this,
- 1:57:15Speaker 3: the go is my lose.
- 1:57:17Speaker 4: That's exactly my point, right, because they have the same
- 1:57:19Speaker 4: record as the Celtics, yet can't beat a team that's good, right, right,
- 1:57:22Speaker 4: So what does that tell you? You're right, the league
- 1:57:24Speaker 4: is full of bad teams.
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: You're right when they have to.
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: I hope. So, No, I think the Celtics are played
- 1:57:29Speaker 4: for me.
- 1:57:30Speaker 5: To run one hundred every single game.
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: Yeah I don't. I don't, like, you don't get anything
- 1:57:34Speaker 4: for that.
- 1:57:35Speaker 3: Like, I just didn't like every time they go in
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: the paint they turn it over. Last night they had
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: nineteen turnovers. Come on, come on.
- 1:57:44Speaker 4: All right, we're gonna disappoint it.
- 1:57:46Speaker 3: We're gonna end the show with this email from Austin says,

- 1:57:59Speaker 3: got that.
