- 0:00Speaker 1: We start this episode here on Cracking This Morning. On
- 0:03Speaker 1: very somber terms. Jim Gordon, known to those around the
- 0:07Speaker 1: hockey circles affectionately as Boomer, was a longtime host and
- 0:11Speaker 1: producer at SiriusXM NHL Network Radio. A very infectious personality.
- 0:16Speaker 1: He knew how to relate to new listeners, longtime listeners,
- 0:20Speaker 1: old time hockey fans, new hockey fans as well across
- 0:24Speaker 1: some belt regions, also with a terrific spin on the
- 0:27Speaker 1: fantasy side here which made his most recent show the
- 0:30Speaker 1: point Appointment Listening on Sirius XM NHL Network Radio. We
- 0:35Speaker 1: are sad to learn that Jim Gordon past Monday after
- 0:38Speaker 1: a bout with cancer. He was fifty five years of age.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Our condolences to friends, family, and loved ones of the
- 0:45Speaker 1: late Jim Boomer Gordon.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Welcome to Cracking This Morning, a presentation of the Krakin
- 0:52Speaker 2: Audio Network, Ken Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Here's Mike Benton.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Second game of to back coming up here for the
- 1:01Speaker 1: Seattle Kraken, who take on the Saint Louis Blues in
- 1:04Speaker 1: the second and final trip to Enterprise Center for this season. Again,
- 1:08Speaker 1: Mike vent with you for Cracking this morning on a Thursday,
- 1:11Speaker 1: the twenty sixth of February. The Cracking trying to bounce
- 1:14Speaker 1: back from a four to one loss last evening in Dallas.
- 1:17Speaker 1: We'll hear remarks from head coach Lane Lambert in just
- 1:20Speaker 1: a bit, plus also catch up for more contact with
- 1:23Speaker 1: Darren Brown of NHL dot Com and Sound of Hockey,
- 1:26Speaker 1: including the loss of Ryan Lyndgren mid game last night,
- 1:30Speaker 1: potentially Cafocaco's return to the lineup with the Kraken facing
- 1:34Speaker 1: Saint Louis, and much more with Darren Brown joining us
- 1:38Speaker 1: very very shortly, not exactly the start of the Kraken
- 1:42Speaker 1: envision last night at American Airlines Center, and after a
- 1:45Speaker 1: big hit that Lynn Gren laid on Colin Blackwell early
- 1:48Speaker 1: in period one, both players ushered off end of the
- 1:51Speaker 1: tunnel toward their dressing rooms. Blackwell would return, lyn Gren
- 1:55Speaker 1: did not, and the Kraken from that point on force
- 1:58Speaker 1: to shuffle the deck in lynd Gren's absence, plus also
- 2:01Speaker 1: missing his rucket presence a useful tool right back at
- 2:04Speaker 1: the front of the net, and Dallas getting all four
- 2:07Speaker 1: of their goals around that blue paint area last night.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Wyatt Johnston scoring twice. The start is getting four unanswered
- 2:14Speaker 1: goals before Ryker Evans broke the shutout bid in period
- 2:17Speaker 1: three with this sixth goal of the season at six
- 2:21Speaker 1: forty six, But Dallas after that, Cruising four won the
- 2:25Speaker 1: final over the Kraken in the third and final meeting
- 2:28Speaker 1: of the season, with Dallas taking all three meetings in
- 2:31Speaker 1: the regular season set. Before we get to Darren Brown,
- 2:34Speaker 1: here's more reaction from cracket head coach Layne Lambert, who
- 2:37Speaker 1: first summarized the last saying it was a failure to execute.
- 2:41Speaker 3: For whatever reason. You know, we had a apparently we
- 2:45Speaker 3: had a past first mentality instead of a shoot first mentality,
- 2:48Speaker 3: and you know, it just doesn't work for our hockey team.
- 2:52Speaker 3: You know, there's no excuse for it, there's no reason
- 2:55Speaker 3: for it. How do we've got to be better assess goal?
- 2:58Speaker 3: There's special teams tonight. Well, you know, I thought the
- 3:02Speaker 3: power play, you know, right off the bat, I thought
- 3:04Speaker 3: we were fine in the first seven minutes of the game,
- 3:06Speaker 3: even minutes of the game, our power play, if we
- 3:08Speaker 3: could have scored, would have really given us a huge boost.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Didn't happen. I thought, you know, early on the power
- 3:15Speaker 3: play was good. I thought it got sloppy towards you know,
- 3:18Speaker 3: the last couple of opportunities, you know, and I thought
- 3:23Speaker 3: our penalty kill for the most part, I thought our
- 3:25Speaker 3: penalty kill was okay. You know, there's a face off,
- 3:29Speaker 3: shot goes going wide, it hit I think it probably
- 3:32Speaker 3: hit off two guys, our guy and there guy. But
- 3:35Speaker 3: you know, it just overall as a as a whole
- 3:40Speaker 3: the entire game, it was disappointing for me. And again,
- 3:46Speaker 3: like I said, not good enough. They're a good hockey
- 3:49Speaker 3: team over there. We needed to be a lot better
- 3:51Speaker 3: than we were.
- 3:52Speaker 4: How much of that past first mentality as a result
- 3:55Speaker 4: of not getting enough guys in front.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Of the net?
- 3:57Speaker 3: What do they just need to shoot more and hope
- 3:59Speaker 3: something goes well? They can you know, shots create shots,
- 4:03Speaker 3: Shots create traffic. So you know, we have opportunities to
- 4:07Speaker 3: shoot the pocket and we didn't. That's just the bottom line.
- 4:10Speaker 3: So we need to get more bucks than that. We
- 4:11Speaker 3: started doing a little bit more in the third. We've
- 4:14Speaker 3: got a couple of opportunities, but you know, certainly wasn't
- 4:17Speaker 3: our It wasn't our game and certainly not the way
- 4:22Speaker 3: we want to play and not the way we had
- 4:24Speaker 3: been playing before. The break, so you know, we have
- 4:27Speaker 3: a quick turnaround here, we get on a plane, we
- 4:29Speaker 3: go to Saint Louis. It's going to be a late night.
- 4:32Speaker 3: We've got to get ourselves ready to go. There aren't
- 4:35Speaker 3: any excuses at the other end of the ice, a
- 4:38Speaker 3: defensive end, a lot of tipping goals, Like what do
- 4:40Speaker 3: you guys have to do to counteract some of that?
- 4:42Speaker 3: Got a box out and do a better job of
- 4:44Speaker 3: getting in shot lanes. You know, the first goal I thought,
- 4:50Speaker 3: I mean, if you could say it was, it was
- 4:51Speaker 3: a bit of a turning point. You give up a
- 4:53Speaker 3: goal late in the first period like that, you have
- 4:55Speaker 3: to box out going to the net. You know those
- 4:58Speaker 3: shots by the way, we're going wide and they're throwing
- 5:01Speaker 3: that puck to the net and tipping them.
- 5:03Speaker 4: You know.
- 5:03Speaker 3: So that's what we're talking about. You know, with us,
- 5:05Speaker 3: you shot first mentality and they tip them.
- 5:09Speaker 4: You know.
- 5:09Speaker 3: The second goal they scored was a result of a
- 5:12Speaker 3: poor execution. We ice the puck face off, don't don't
- 5:16Speaker 3: maintain our assignment off the draw, and it's in the
- 5:18Speaker 3: back of our net. So there's little things that just
- 5:20Speaker 3: kind of snowballed on us, and you know, we have
- 5:23Speaker 3: a good penalty kill, come out of the box and
- 5:26Speaker 3: get scored on off the rush, and then we challenge
- 5:28Speaker 3: and they score on a power play. So you know,
- 5:31Speaker 3: it was just a combination of a bunch of different things.
- 5:34Speaker 3: It wasn't a good enough hockey game for our hockey team,
- 5:36Speaker 3: and we've got to be better. We went into the
- 5:38Speaker 3: conversation to challenge for goaltending interference three nothing. I didn't
- 5:43Speaker 3: think that our team was doing anything at the time.
- 5:47Speaker 3: We knew it was probably going to be about a
- 5:49Speaker 3: fifty to fifty opportunity that they were going to call
- 5:51Speaker 3: the go back. But at that point in time, with
- 5:55Speaker 3: our team and the way we were playing, we needed
- 5:57Speaker 3: some sort of a spark. We took the chance. I'd
- 6:00Speaker 3: do it again. Papa'cacko obviously not playing tonight. Do anticipate
- 6:03Speaker 3: him to be available tomorrow and or is.
- 6:05Speaker 1: There any kind of injury concern at all?
- 6:07Speaker 3: No, No, no injury concern. You know, Koppa played more
- 6:11Speaker 3: hockey than tot of he did over there. He played
- 6:13Speaker 3: two back to backs. You know, we trusted his maturity
- 6:20Speaker 3: in telling us how he felt and he'll be ready
- 6:24Speaker 3: to go to.
- 6:25Speaker 5: Mow all right.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Well, a pretty jam playoff picture became even more jammed
- 6:29Speaker 1: after last night. Besides the Kraken, the King's loss, the
- 6:32Speaker 1: Mammoth loss, Edmonton lost, Anaheim won. So the Kraken now
- 6:37Speaker 1: in wildcard spot number two, three points ahead of the
- 6:40Speaker 1: first team on the outside looking in, that being the Kings,
- 6:43Speaker 1: who have lost four in a row. The Crack in
- 6:45Speaker 1: one point back of Utah for wildcard spot number one,
- 6:49Speaker 1: and also third place Edmonton. They are two back of
- 6:53Speaker 1: second place Anaheim.
- 6:54Speaker 5: The game of musical chairs just.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Continues heading into tonight, off that reaction Cracking with a
- 7:00Speaker 1: quick turnaround, trying to get back into the wind and
- 7:03Speaker 1: call him and the hope is that from last night
- 7:05Speaker 1: it was a case of Russ trying to get that
- 7:07Speaker 1: shaken off as a take on the Saint Louis Blues
- 7:10Speaker 1: in the second and final trip to Enterprise Center here
- 7:13Speaker 1: for this season. Joining us now on Cracking this morning,
- 7:16Speaker 1: our friend Darren Brown of NHL dot com also runs
- 7:20Speaker 1: a content side for Soundofhockey dot com as well does
- 7:23Speaker 1: fantastic work.
- 7:25Speaker 5: Darren, Hi, how are you?
- 7:26Speaker 1: First off, how'd you spend the several days away here
- 7:29Speaker 1: from hockey?
- 7:30Speaker 4: I am good, Mike, thanks for having me Well, the
- 7:33Speaker 4: main thing was I got to go to Japan with
- 7:34Speaker 4: my wife, which was pretty incredible experience. Jaden Schwartz was
- 7:39Speaker 4: also there. Sadly we didn't get to connect, so as
- 7:43Speaker 4: hard as I tried, I thought he'd I thought he'd
- 7:45Speaker 4: want to see the sites with me, But.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I take a break. I think the invite got lost
- 7:51Speaker 1: into the email somewhere right, you know.
- 7:53Speaker 4: I told him that I had requested to do an
- 7:56Speaker 4: interview with him in Japan, and he said, yeah, I
- 7:58Speaker 4: don't know. I didn't get the request. Had my phone
- 8:02Speaker 4: off or something. So that's all right, what can you do?
- 8:06Speaker 1: How many times have you been to Japan before?
- 8:09Speaker 4: First time? First time? It was great.
- 8:11Speaker 5: What was the best part about it?
- 8:12Speaker 4: We'd recommend man a lot of things. I think it's
- 8:16Speaker 4: just an awesome, awesome place to go. It's super clean,
- 8:19Speaker 4: super friendly people, people who really take a lot of
- 8:23Speaker 4: pride and no matter what their job is, everything is efficient.
- 8:28Speaker 4: The food's great. So that's like five things that are
- 8:31Speaker 4: good about it. Yeah, it was. It was just an
- 8:34Speaker 4: awesome trip. Would definitely recommend for anyone who hasn't gotten
- 8:36Speaker 4: to make it over there before. It was a really
- 8:39Speaker 4: really cool experience.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Time well spent and we're finally back out of here
- 8:42Speaker 1: in the Crakend, trying to shake off a four to
- 8:45Speaker 1: one loss to the Dallas Stars. Un let's just say
- 8:48Speaker 1: the alarm finally has gone off here as far as
- 8:51Speaker 1: the slumber from these last few weeks here. But Darren,
- 8:54Speaker 1: I want to first jump into the immediate reaction from
- 8:57Speaker 1: last night, and Jordan Everley made pretty key about how
- 9:01Speaker 1: important the interior of the ice is defending the net
- 9:04Speaker 1: as well. I think a big part of that, and
- 9:07Speaker 1: that's pretty much where a bulk of Dallas's offense came
- 9:10Speaker 1: from that game, where in the second period they were
- 9:13Speaker 1: able to pull away, and that't'ally different.
- 9:16Speaker 5: So would you take away here from last night?
- 9:18Speaker 4: You know, I didn't think the effort I mean, watching it,
- 9:21Speaker 4: I didn't think the effort was terrible. And obviously, to me,
- 9:25Speaker 4: the issue is that they just weren't generating very much offensively, right,
- 9:29Speaker 4: So I think they had nine shots through two periods,
- 9:32Speaker 4: which is simply not enough. But when you think about
- 9:37Speaker 4: the goals that went in, three of the four were
- 9:40Speaker 4: off shots that were actually missing the nets and got redirected.
- 9:44Speaker 4: So you know, although Joey Decord didn't have incredible stats
- 9:48Speaker 4: in the game because he gives up four goals and
- 9:50Speaker 4: I think he had an eight to seventy five save percentage.
- 9:54Speaker 4: I mean, there's nothing that he can do the goals
- 9:56Speaker 4: that went in. It's just from a goalies perspective, it's
- 9:59Speaker 4: just kind of a bad break that those you know,
- 10:02Speaker 4: I mean, it's a great play by the Dallas Stars players.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Two of those are Wyatt Johnston, you know, and and
- 10:10Speaker 4: I mean, there's just nothing that you can do that
- 10:12Speaker 4: one goal that came off of the faith off. You know,
- 10:15Speaker 4: He's he's got like literally five players right in front
- 10:18Speaker 4: of him, so the krack And it wasn't like they
- 10:21Speaker 4: were making terrible turnovers or missing assignments or things like that.
- 10:26Speaker 4: It just was good sticks by the Stars players and
- 10:30Speaker 4: traffic in front and they weren't generating enough. So to me,
- 10:35Speaker 4: I think, you know, it's you never want to see
- 10:37Speaker 4: a team come out and fall behind four zero early
- 10:40Speaker 4: in the second period, especially in this this race that
- 10:44Speaker 4: they're in here. But for being the first game back
- 10:47Speaker 4: from a three week layoff against one of the best
- 10:50Speaker 4: teams in the league, I didn't hate the effort. And
- 10:54Speaker 4: maybe that's I don't know what did you think I
- 10:56Speaker 4: was that a contrarian point. I thought it looked looked
- 11:00Speaker 4: better than the score and the stats indicated to me.
- 11:03Speaker 1: I mean it was a bit alarming based on how
- 11:05Speaker 1: the game got away from them later. But I don't
- 11:08Speaker 1: think you can really fault the first period just to
- 11:11Speaker 1: kind of get to that point. And I think Darren
- 11:13Speaker 1: going back here too, the first few minutes, I mean,
- 11:15Speaker 1: you can't picture I think maybe a better tone setting
- 11:19Speaker 1: start than the manner in how the crack and we're
- 11:22Speaker 1: throwing the body around first off, calling Blackwell running into
- 11:26Speaker 1: a six foot seven wall named Jamie Alexiak and then
- 11:29Speaker 1: Ryan Lindgren just lighting him up like Christmas. But unfortunately
- 11:33Speaker 1: both players down the tunnel. Blackwell would return. Unfortunately lyn
- 11:38Speaker 1: Gren did not. So you go from the euphoria of
- 11:42Speaker 1: just a massive thunder a set that might get you know,
- 11:44Speaker 1: sports that are replays, to now losing arguably your most
- 11:48Speaker 1: rugged stay at home d out of the entire lineup
- 11:51Speaker 1: in Ryan Lindren. Then all of a sudden the crack
- 11:53Speaker 1: and had to shuffle the deck and play virtually anybody
- 11:56Speaker 1: here with Ryker Evans just to kind of spread ice
- 12:00Speaker 1: time out and keep bodies fresh here for this game
- 12:02Speaker 1: against Saint Louis coming up here for the seating. But
- 12:04Speaker 1: I kind of lead from that into this question, where
- 12:07Speaker 1: did you see the biggest last year on the absence
- 12:09Speaker 1: of Ryan Lindren.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I mean maybe that's that's part of the
- 12:14Speaker 4: struggles with keeping guys away from the front of the net, right,
- 12:16Speaker 4: I mean, he's obviously that's kind of his His realm
- 12:20Speaker 4: is right there in front of the net. I think
- 12:21Speaker 4: it does create some chaos for the defense to be
- 12:24Speaker 4: able to roll five D and be rotating through like that.
- 12:27Speaker 4: That certainly is makes things a little bit challenging, and
- 12:31Speaker 4: you know, you don't know your partner quite as well
- 12:33Speaker 4: when you're playing with somebody random every shift. But they
- 12:36Speaker 4: have all played together at some point, so it's not
- 12:38Speaker 4: like it's it's totally ridiculous to shuffle through like that.
- 12:42Speaker 4: More than anything, though, I think, you know, they do
- 12:45Speaker 4: have guys that can backfill for lind Grin if he
- 12:47Speaker 4: ends up missing time here. I would have to think
- 12:49Speaker 4: if he left the game that early, he probably is
- 12:52Speaker 4: is going to miss a little bit of time. We'll see,
- 12:55Speaker 4: But you know they do have Cale Flurry and Josh
- 12:58Speaker 4: Mahura both waiting in the wings. Both have shown that
- 13:00Speaker 4: their effective defenseman in the NHL, so they'll be able
- 13:04Speaker 4: to backfill for him. But certainly he's a he's a
- 13:07Speaker 4: player they don't want to lose for too long. I
- 13:09Speaker 4: think he flies under the radar as a pretty important player.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I think he's a studying force back there. Like you said,
- 13:15Speaker 4: he's rugged and he's he brings a little bit of
- 13:17Speaker 4: grit that the Kracken sometimes lacks. So yeah, they don't
- 13:21Speaker 4: want to lose him, but I have a feeling that
- 13:23Speaker 4: there there may be a little bit of an absence
- 13:26Speaker 4: for him.
- 13:27Speaker 1: It was already a four to one game by the
- 13:28Speaker 1: time that this happened in period three, but at seven
- 13:30Speaker 1: point fifty eighteen minutes in penalties combined given to the
- 13:34Speaker 1: Kraken and the Dallas Stars, Jacob Allanson two for roughing
- 13:38Speaker 1: Ben Myers and it's Tiltwood Justin Fritzkovian five for fighting
- 13:43Speaker 1: as well. Then Adam Ernie gets a double minor two
- 13:46Speaker 1: for roughing and two for cross checking. What did you
- 13:49Speaker 1: make out of the rost up there in the final minutes.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah, the bash brothers there, Ben Myers and Jacob Mallanson.
- 13:56Speaker 4: You know, I think Milanson. What I love about his
- 13:59Speaker 4: game is that he continues to play this physical game
- 14:03Speaker 4: that seems to really get under the skin of opponents,
- 14:06Speaker 4: but he does it in the right way. He doesn't
- 14:07Speaker 4: take a lot of penalties and like take you know,
- 14:09Speaker 4: cheap shot runs at players, but he does hit players
- 14:13Speaker 4: a lot and it does seem to upset the other teams,
- 14:16Speaker 4: which I think is a good thing. And the two
- 14:18Speaker 4: fights that he's had now it's not like he's going
- 14:21Speaker 4: out looking for him asking guys for fights. It's that
- 14:24Speaker 4: they're challenging him because he's hitting people hard throughout the games,
- 14:29Speaker 4: and eventually they're like, hey, you know what, you're a
- 14:31Speaker 4: young player in the NHL and you need to answer
- 14:35Speaker 4: for your physical play. So but he holds he holds
- 14:38Speaker 4: his own in those tonight, I think, or in that
- 14:41Speaker 4: game last night, I think that Adam Ernie kind of
- 14:44Speaker 4: jumped him and didn't give him a chance to get
- 14:46Speaker 4: his gloves off, so he got the upper hand in
- 14:48Speaker 4: the fight. But you know, Milonton can can really take
- 14:52Speaker 4: care of himself in that area, and seeing Ben Myers
- 14:56Speaker 4: step up and do something similar at the same moment
- 14:59Speaker 4: was fascinating to see. He's definitely not known for that,
- 15:02Speaker 4: but he showed that he could do it too. So
- 15:04Speaker 4: I I mean, I'm not like the biggest proponent of
- 15:07Speaker 4: fighting in general, but I think there's a time and place,
- 15:10Speaker 4: and I think if you're able to take care of
- 15:12Speaker 4: yourself in these in these scenarios, you know, I like,
- 15:16Speaker 4: I like the way that Malanton goes about his business,
- 15:18Speaker 4: and this is just another example of it.
- 15:20Speaker 1: See, I think to me, there's also a heartbeat element
- 15:23Speaker 1: of it. Certainly gives Malonson some value, ben Meyer some value,
- 15:26Speaker 1: and really that fourth line some value as well as
- 15:29Speaker 1: Darren Brown joins us right now on Cracking this Morning
- 15:32Speaker 1: from NHL dot Com and Sound of Focky Coppocaco did
- 15:36Speaker 1: not play last night the Crack and lefting to give
- 15:38Speaker 1: him one more day of rest. Additionally, Ty Carcier non
- 15:42Speaker 1: roster status as well for the game, so hearing from
- 15:45Speaker 1: head coach Lane Lambert that Coco should be good to
- 15:48Speaker 1: go here for today.
- 15:49Speaker 5: Where do you like him best in this lineup? Darren Oh?
- 15:53Speaker 4: I I have always liked him best with Matty Benier's
- 15:59Speaker 4: but that hasn't been in kind of the setup of
- 16:02Speaker 4: late before the break. I know that they had Veneers
- 16:05Speaker 4: back with Everley and mccannon that said, I don't know
- 16:11Speaker 4: where do I like him best? You know what, I'm
- 16:14Speaker 4: sticking with that answer. I don't think that's where they're
- 16:16Speaker 4: gonna put him. Yeah, I don't think they're going to
- 16:18Speaker 4: put him on the on the line with Spaniers, but
- 16:21Speaker 4: I think Veneers has played some of his best hockey
- 16:24Speaker 4: with Coppocco in the last two years. I think Copo
- 16:27Speaker 4: Coco has played his best hockey when he's been with Shineers.
- 16:30Speaker 4: So I'm sticking with it. I don't think that's where
- 16:32Speaker 4: they're going to put him, But that's my answer.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Coco right winterton last time, Coco was on the ice
- 16:37Speaker 1: by the way for that game against the Kings on
- 16:39Speaker 1: the fourth of February, and really before that a lot
- 16:42Speaker 1: of Jayden Schwarz, Shane Wright and Coppo Coco together. So
- 16:45Speaker 1: will wait and see as far as where that that
- 16:47Speaker 1: uh begins to form, assuming that Coco is good to
- 16:51Speaker 1: go here for tonight. As far as Saint Louis Aaron
- 16:54Speaker 1: is concerned, looks like that they're going to be sellers
- 16:56Speaker 1: here by deadline time. Could Jordan Bennington be gone, We'll see,
- 17:00Speaker 1: Could Jordan Cairo be gone. We'll see Robert Thomas won't
- 17:03Speaker 1: play tonight out with a personal matter, and if these
- 17:06Speaker 1: moved maybe not likely, but the Blues said it will
- 17:09Speaker 1: take an offer to really overwhelm them, so to speak,
- 17:12Speaker 1: to have him get moved on. But he is a
- 17:15Speaker 1: very enticing offensive element here. But I think for a
- 17:18Speaker 1: game like this here, for the saving, Darren, you got
- 17:21Speaker 1: to find ways to generate shots on net from the
- 17:23Speaker 1: get go and get Blues goaltending busy in this game, Darren,
- 17:27Speaker 1: what about you?
- 17:27Speaker 4: Definitely, I think that's absolutely the case. The Blues are
- 17:30Speaker 4: not the Dallas Stars. They are not as good of
- 17:32Speaker 4: a team as the Dallas Stars, and this will also
- 17:35Speaker 4: be their first game, so in theory things will be
- 17:37Speaker 4: a little bit, a little bit sloppy. On the Saint
- 17:39Speaker 4: Louis side, Yeah, those players you mentioned, they're they're interesting.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Not so much. I'm not interested in Bennington so much,
- 17:46Speaker 4: but Kyrou and Thomas, I mean, those are players that
- 17:51Speaker 4: can make an impact on a team for sure, So
- 17:53Speaker 4: I'm curious about what happens with both of those. I
- 17:57Speaker 4: do think in a way they kind of fit with
- 17:59Speaker 4: what the Kraken might be wanting to do in terms
- 18:02Speaker 4: of upgrading their offense before the break or before the
- 18:06Speaker 4: trade deadline. Are they are those guys the exact right fit.
- 18:10Speaker 4: I'm not. I'm not really sure. I'd have to kind
- 18:12Speaker 4: of see in action, but yeah, it's it's interesting that
- 18:16Speaker 4: you know, we're coming up against the team here that
- 18:19Speaker 4: is probably a seller. They're definitely out of the playoff
- 18:23Speaker 4: hunts at this point, and you know, maybe it's a
- 18:27Speaker 4: little bit of a close up look at a Jordan
- 18:30Speaker 4: Kyru for example. I know you said Thomas isn't going
- 18:32Speaker 4: to be there, but maybe there's something to keep an
- 18:35Speaker 4: eye on there from a Krack and fan perspective.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Potentially, if the right move is out there, they could
- 18:40Speaker 1: be needle movers and then some for a team that
- 18:43Speaker 1: certainly needs a bump in their top six or their
- 18:46Speaker 1: top line as well. Darren, glad to hear that you
- 18:48Speaker 1: had a great vacation. Glad to have you back once
- 18:50Speaker 1: again and looking forward to seeing once again here for
- 18:53Speaker 1: this week and once the homestand begins.
- 18:54Speaker 5: Thanks Pal, Thank you for the time. Appreciate you Mike.
- 18:59Speaker 1: All right, Darren, thank you very much. As Darren Brown

- 19:13Speaker 1: The Krack and in Saint Louis for this regular season series.
- 19:17Speaker 1: There is one more matchup to go, which will be
- 19:20Speaker 1: in Seattle not too far from now, that coming up

- 19:26Speaker 1: it now two in a row head to head against
- 19:29Speaker 1: the Blues and three in a row in the head
- 19:31Speaker 1: to head series and trying to improve on a four
- 19:33Speaker 1: to six and three head to head record all time.
- 19:37Speaker 1: No update on Ryan Lindgren yet as of the end
- 19:40Speaker 1: of Wednesday night should he not be available to go.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Of course, the Crack and have options on their back end,
- 19:45Speaker 1: including Josh Mhura and Kale Flurry and the Crack and
- 19:49Speaker 1: facing a Saint Louis team also trying to manage a
- 19:51Speaker 1: shuffling duck right now. As we said, sator Robert Thomas
- 19:55Speaker 1: will not play in this evening's game, tending to a
- 19:58Speaker 1: personal matter right now.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Ellen Holloway and the meantime.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Has been nursing an ankle injury over the last two months,
- 20:03Speaker 1: but reports say you should be available and be back
