- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of The
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. The investigation into Jeffrey Epstein continues to heat
- 0:10up down in New Mexico, and now we're starting to
- 0:14see some material from the subpoenas that were fired off
- 0:18start to come back in and it's going to be
- 0:20real interesting to see just how forthcoming these folks are.
- 0:25I mean, you have a lot of institutions that are
- 0:27getting hit with the subpoenas that don't want to talk
- 0:30about Jeffrey Epstein, and they've done their level best throughout
- 0:34the years to make sure that that didn't occur. But
- 0:38now they're getting hit with a subpoena, they're going to
- 0:41have to, at the very least make pretend they're playing
- 0:43the game. But as we've seen previously, that's exactly what
- 0:48it is to a lot of these people, a game,
- 0:51and unfortunately, Congress has let them play their games. So
- 0:55I wonder if this commission in New Mexico is going
- 0:57to attempt to really get down to the bottom of
- 1:01what happened. And look, I hope that's the case, and
- 1:04I hope that this commission is going to dig as
- 1:06deep as they can well, considering the history that we're
- 1:09dealing with here. I'm not putting the cart before the horse.
- 1:14We need to see some tangible results. Right. It's one
- 1:18thing to talk a big game, it's a whole less
- 1:20other thing to actually do it. And today we have
- 1:23an article from the Santa Fe New Mexican and the
- 1:26headline subpoena materials starts flowing to Epstein Truth Commission. This
- 1:31article was authored by Clara Bates. Responding to a subpoena
- 1:36issued by the Zoro Truth Commission became an all consuming
- 1:40task for the small staff of New Mexico's State Historical Archive. Boy,
- 1:45we've heard that story before. Huh oh, we don't have
- 1:48the proper staffing, not enough people. We can't get through
- 1:52all this work. Well, that's what we heard from the
- 1:55DOJ down here in the New Mexico State Records Office.
- 2:00They just got to work. Over about two weeks in June,
- 2:05staff at the New Mexico State Record Center and Archives,
- 2:08which houses historical records of prior governors, looked through hundreds
- 2:11of thousands of pages in two hundred and thirty boxes,
- 2:15and searched millions of online records. The commission had requested
- 2:19records related to former governor Bill Richardson, who had ties
- 2:23to Jeffrey Epstein, the wealthy sex offender who owned the
- 2:26sprawling Zoro ranch in southern Santa Fe County from nineteen
- 2:30ninety three until his death in twenty nineteen. And let's
- 2:36be clear, they weren't just buddies. Bill Richardson has been
- 2:40credibly accused of taking part in the abuse. And for
- 2:47all those people out there that all of a sudden
- 2:49believed Virginia that were nowhere to be seen previously, By
- 2:53the way, how come you didn't have anything to say
- 2:57when Bill Richardson was working with the Biden administration to
- 3:00try to bring Britney Griner home. I called it out
- 3:03at the time because Bill Richardson is a piece of shit,
- 3:09And I believe my friend Virginia when she says that
- 3:11he assaulted her. So where were all these left wing
- 3:14pundits then, all these people that have made a living
- 3:17talking about Epstein for the past year, all them clowns
- 3:20were mia when the battle was being waged in the trenches.
- 3:25Oh it's easy to come in afterwards, right, but you
- 3:29were never on the front line. And if you would
- 3:33have listened when Virginia was telling you this years ago,
- 3:36maybe we could have had justice. So keep that shit
- 3:39in mind when you're looking to assign blame. It's so
- 3:43big and important that we want to make sure we're
- 3:46doing due diligence, Jonathan Pringle, director of the Archives and
- 3:49Historical Services Division, said in an interview on Wednesday, adding
- 3:54that he thinks the staff have callouses on their thumbs
- 3:56from flipping through the pages. All five staff members in
- 4:00the State Archives help come through the boxes, he said, well, good.
- 4:06All that information should be provided to the commission. Whatever
- 4:09they're asking for they should get, especially if there's nothing
- 4:13to hide, If nobody has anything to hide, and there
- 4:17was no misdeeds done by anyone in power, then these
- 4:21institutions should be happy to turn everything over. Oh yeah,
- 4:24we got that. This proves that what was said is incorrect.
- 4:28Here you go. But you notice they fight tooth and nel.
- 4:33The last thing they want to do is be transparent.
- 4:37You know how they say that the truth will set
- 4:39you free. Not for them. They're allergic to the truth.
- 4:45The tiny agency turned over one hundred and thirty two
- 4:48responsive records. Pringle said those records, as he understands them,
- 4:52included mainly routine administrative notes such as callback memos and
- 4:57communication about travel, which may or may not not have
- 5:00been specifically to any Epstein property. He said, well, good,
- 5:05give them all the information, let them go through it,
- 5:07and let's find out what's what. That's how an investigation works.
- 5:12And as you can see over in the UK with
- 5:14mister Mandelsson, everything I told you is coming true. They
- 5:19opened the door with the Epstein files and then they
- 5:22kicked that motherfucker in and now they're going to get
- 5:25them for all kinds of espionage, all kinds of crazy shit.
- 5:30And we have an episode coming up talking about it.
- 5:32But man, that's how it works. You get somebody on
- 5:37some you know, little picywn shit, some little small crime,
- 5:41and then from there you give him a colonoscopy. And
- 5:45that's how it's always worked, and that's how it's always
- 5:47going to work. Those records are now in the hands
- 5:51of the four person legislative Investigatory Committee looking into Epstein's
- 5:55activities in the state. The State Archives was one of
- 5:59about a dozen entities with a Tuesday deadline to respond
- 6:03to the commission subpoenas. Representative Andrea Romero, the Commission chair,
- 6:09said as of Wednesday, the panel that heard back from
- 6:12nearly all the subpoenad organizations. Many are still in the
- 6:16process to turn it over the record, she said, but
- 6:19are clearly working to comply. And I wonder what the
- 6:22penalty is if they don't comply, because we know when
- 6:25it comes to the United States Congress there are no penalties.
- 6:28People can say and do whatever they want, obviously, because
- 6:32just about every single person that we've seen get up
- 6:35there and give testimony has lied. No consequences, no follow up,
- 6:42no referral, nothing. What we do know is that there
- 6:48is just a vast amount of material that we need
- 6:50to look through. We don't know at this point what
- 6:52they are. The good thing is, in general, is that
- 6:55our investigations underway at this point, Romero said, And yeah,
- 6:59you got to start somehere, and I'm glad they started now.
- 7:03It should have been a long time ago, and Zora
- 7:06Ran should have been rated at the time that all
- 7:08of this was going down. But better late than ever.
- 7:11And it's much more than we're seeing in New York
- 7:13or Florida, or down in the Virgin Islands or anywhere
- 7:16else Epstein was active. So yeah, I'll give New Mexico
- 7:20a tip of the cap. The only agencies the Commission
- 7:23hadn't heard back from were federal the Federal Aviation Administration
- 7:27and federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York
- 7:31and Florida. Of course, well, who's running the cover up,
- 7:35the federal government, right, So why would they want to
- 7:39give over these records to somebody who's not part of
- 7:42their cover up. That doesn't make sense. So they're going
- 7:46to fight at tooth and noel, there's no doubt in
- 7:48my mind, and what they're going to rely on is
- 7:51a loopholes and technicality strategy. That's what they're going to
- 7:55rely on. Neither the FAA nor a Florida secutor has
- 8:00responded to request for comment. A spokesperson from the New
- 8:04York office declined to comment. The Commission is seeking EPSTEIN
- 8:07flight logs along with investigative files of the prosecutor's offices.
- 8:13Should be easy stuff to turn over, right, especially considering
- 8:17that we have the EFTA law going right now. You
- 8:20think they'd want to be in compliance. You'd think wrong,
- 8:25because once again the DOJ they're going to do whatever
- 8:28they want to do under this administration, and unfortunately, up
- 8:32until this point, at least there's nothing anyone can do
- 8:35about it other than the Record Center. The other organizations
- 8:40which have either turned over the information or are in
- 8:43the process of doing so, according to the Truth Commission,
- 8:46aer the New Mexico Department of Justice, US Attorney's Office
- 8:50for New Mexico Governor's Office, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office,
- 8:55Public Regulation Commission, Department of Public Safety, Regulation and Licensing Department,
- 9:02the Santa Fe Institute, New Mexico State Land Office. Now,
- 9:07the Santa Fe Institute's interesting because, as I've told you,
- 9:11they threw me directly off that campus. It's like they
- 9:14knew I was coming. Maybe Jeffrey Epstein and his buddies
- 9:18called them after I was over at Zoro Ranch and
- 9:20they were like, you know what, You're gonna have some
- 9:22company soon, because the second I got on that campus,
- 9:26all right, maybe not the second, but it wasn't long
- 9:29before I was approached and told to leave. Several agencies,
- 9:34including the Regulation and Licensing Department and the Department of
- 9:38Public Safety, are in the process or responding to the subpoenas,
- 9:41but have been in touch with the Commission and granted
- 9:44informal extensions. The Santa Fe Institute sought and was granted
- 9:48an extension until July thirteenth. Romero said, why see, this
- 9:54is the kind of shit I don't like. If there's
- 9:58a date that you have to turn over the information,
- 10:00then that's the date the information should be turned over.
- 10:05Why are we getting all these different extensions in shit?
- 10:11Representative Marianna Anaya of Albuquerque, wh who's a member of
- 10:14the Commission, said the agency is asking for more time,
- 10:17seemed to be working hard to gather the documents. There
- 10:21were some entities who I think probably knew that they
- 10:24were going to be subpoena and I do believe that
- 10:26they probably started getting stuff together a little bit earlier.
- 10:30And then there are other entities that are asking for
- 10:32small extensions, And I think that's a sign of good
- 10:35faith that people are actually trying to get documents together
- 10:39instead of just saying, oh, here's what we think we have.
- 10:43Anaya said on this week's episode of Around the Roundhouse,
- 10:47the political podcast hosted by The New Mexican The subpoenas
- 10:52are broad and extensive, seeking records each of the organizations
- 10:56hold about Epstein and disassociates activities in New Mexico. The
- 11:01Truth Commission has said the subpoenas will help them get
- 11:04the big picture understanding of Epstein's activities in the state
- 11:08and gained the foundational knowledge necessary to begin asking questions
- 11:13of individuals. Several other subpoenas have been issued and posted
- 11:18on the Commission's website, including Deutsche Bank JP, Morgan Chase,
- 11:22and additional federal prosecutors offices, with response deadlines. Of July seventeenth,
- 11:28a total of twenty subpoenas had been posted publicly on
- 11:31the Truth Commission's website. From the banks, the Commission has
- 11:36requested all documents in data related to Epstein and disassociated LLC's,
- 11:42including monthly statements and suspicious activity reports, from federal prosecutors
- 11:47in the Eastern and Western District of Michigan and the
- 11:51District of South Carolina and the Virgin Islands. The Commissions
- 11:55requesting all investigative files related to Epstein and his associates,
- 12:00documents surrounding decisions not to prosecute Epstein, and any information
- 12:05or documents about Zoro Ranch. The Commission has said it
- 12:09plans to hold a July meeting where it will discuss
- 12:12responses to the subpoenas, the date of which has not
- 12:16yet been announced. The House resolution that created the commission
- 12:20calls for an interim report due July thirty first, with
- 12:24a final report due at the end of the year.
- 12:27So things are moving down in New Mexico, and once
- 12:32we get some more information about what's been turned over,
- 12:35we'll definitely get that added to the catalog as well,
- 12:38But until then, that's going to do it for this one.
- 12:41All the information that goes with this episode can be
- 12:44found in the description box.
