- 2:01Speaker 4: I should grow a beard, and she was just like,
- 2:04Speaker 4: oh no, no, it's disgusted.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Why can't you try it, Keesy? Why won't she let
- 2:09Speaker 2: you even try? That's what I said to her, Yeah,
- 2:12Speaker 2: but she just shuts it down. She shut it down. Yeah,
- 2:14Speaker 2: it's an abusive relationship, Kesie, And I want you to
- 2:17Speaker 2: know that man, is it? It is? I tell you
- 2:19Speaker 2: what it's not. Okay, I'll tell you what you should do.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Keysy, come and live with me and my wife and

- 2:32Speaker 3: and see how she feels.
- 2:33Speaker 4: I talk to my babe. I'm just gonna go move
- 2:35Speaker 4: in with Hoidy j for a month and grow a beard.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yes, I think so. Yeah, totally man, Yeah, great staff
- 2:41Speaker 3: of Telly. What speaking of? I'm fine, by the way, fellows,

- 2:50Speaker 3: old Mogi.
- 2:52Speaker 2: You want stars, We've got stars. Later on the Big Show,
- 2:55Speaker 2: we'll be interviewing one half a flight of the Concord's
- 2:58Speaker 2: Academy Award winning Brett mckinn. Oh yeah, yeah, Bret's going
- 3:02Speaker 2: on to URS, So stay tuned for that chat. Looking
- 3:04Speaker 2: forward to it. And there'll be a little bit of
- 3:06Speaker 2: house swarming gift idea chat. Oh yes, a little bit
- 3:09Speaker 2: of that.
- 3:10Speaker 4: That's ahead of our house swarming for Jason this Friday.
- 3:12Speaker 2: That's right, that's right. I'm interesting. Yeah, I'll be interested
- 3:15Speaker 2: to get into that chat, there's also a little bit
- 3:16Speaker 2: of Jason's had another debacle in the city, and We're
- 3:19Speaker 2: going to be getting plenty of these these sort of
- 3:21Speaker 2: chats as time goes on. But I also want to
- 3:24Speaker 2: get into the fact that last night I had a
- 3:26Speaker 2: dream about a member of the Big Show. But I'm
- 3:31Speaker 2: not going to tell you because I'm just going to
- 3:33Speaker 2: tease it. Right. Was it the members member? The members member?
- 3:38Speaker 2: It was just a member of the Big Show, the members.
- 3:40Speaker 2: But well, I don't want to give anything.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, look forward to that so huge show. In
- 3:45Speaker 3: other words, but let's get into a bit.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Of the Hidarchy Big Show weekdays from four on Radio.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Darky Smashing Pumpkins.
- 3:54Speaker 3: There on the Radio Darchy Big Show this Tuesday afternoon.
- 3:58Speaker 3: The time sixteen minutes, it's past four o'clock, and fellows,
- 4:02Speaker 3: I had an absolute debarcle this morning at the Hoody
- 4:06Speaker 3: Jay apartment. Threshold household rights that last threshold household.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I just meant household, not threshold.
- 4:14Speaker 4: That's a really weird way to phrase it. Is this
- 4:17Speaker 4: your apartment in the city?
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, man, where's I woke up this morning? Beautiful morning?
- 4:25Speaker 2: It was too for you?
- 4:26Speaker 3: Oh God, and my beautiful wife brought me in a
- 4:30Speaker 3: lovely coffee and we'll.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Stop you there. Very beautiful wife.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Very beautiful wife, brought me in a coffee. Great start today,
- 4:41Speaker 3: pulled back my kinglike curtains shining.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Up there, beautiful my wife. She went to work.
- 4:47Speaker 3: My daughter went with her because she was you know,
- 4:49Speaker 3: she volunteers helping with horses and stuff.
- 4:52Speaker 2: So the apartment was mine.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Now I've slipped into a really nice routine since I've
- 4:57Speaker 3: moved into the city. I had my morning coffee, I
- 5:01Speaker 3: have a shower, then I get all my bits and
- 5:03Speaker 3: pieces together, put my little rutsack on, put my headphones on,
- 5:07Speaker 3: get a playlist, and just cruise around the city with
- 5:11Speaker 3: tunes pumping in my head.
- 5:13Speaker 2: And I'm very much looking forward to that.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So I got my headphones, got my playlist year good stuff.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Oh hang about where are my keys? Wearing a cat?
- 5:23Speaker 2: Where are my keys? Now?
- 5:25Speaker 3: Let me tell you this. My keys reside in the
- 5:28Speaker 3: same place every single day. My wife and I keep
- 5:31Speaker 3: our keys in one place in the bedroom when we
- 5:34Speaker 3: get back from our day.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Don't you have it on your belt on like a
- 5:37Speaker 4: giant sort of ring.
- 5:38Speaker 2: No keysy, I do not right?
- 5:40Speaker 4: Okay?
- 5:41Speaker 2: And that's that's a surprise to me, because I would
- 5:43Speaker 2: have thought that you would often lose your keys because
- 5:46Speaker 2: you're a little but absent minded. Sure.
- 5:49Speaker 3: No, No, I'm actually pretty good. It's been a long
- 5:51Speaker 3: time since last keys. So I go to our little posse, yeah,
- 5:55Speaker 3: and I go, oh, they're not there.
- 5:56Speaker 2: That's weird.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Go to the kitchen bench, Oh, they're not there.
- 5:59Speaker 2: That's weird. Go to the table, Well, they're not there.
- 6:01Speaker 2: That's weird. So I'm beginning to get a little bit,
- 6:03Speaker 2: you know, if.
- 6:04Speaker 3: He and Jeffy not too bad, not too bad, just oh,
- 6:07Speaker 3: there'll be somewhere lying around.
- 6:09Speaker 2: An hour later, I.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Still haven't found them, and I'm very strongly iffing and
- 6:15Speaker 3: jeff And by this point I then text my lovely, beautiful,
- 6:19Speaker 3: gorgeous wife and say, darling, perchance, do you know where
- 6:24Speaker 3: my keys are?
- 6:25Speaker 4: Tell me? You didn't say per chance?
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yes, I said per chance, Oh my god, do you
- 6:29Speaker 3: know where my keys are?
- 6:31Speaker 2: Did you respond to me immediately? No? Because yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Forty five minutes later she goes, no, no, idea, they're
- 6:38Speaker 3: not beside the bed.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Do you like that? Do you like it when you
- 6:42Speaker 2: get that suggestion? So that's the place where you always
- 6:45Speaker 2: put it. Yes, you've caught it. You've texted to say
- 6:48Speaker 2: where is it? Where are my keys? And then they
- 6:50Speaker 2: ask you if you've looked in the one place that
- 6:52Speaker 2: they always are something, even though I know they're helping,
- 6:56Speaker 2: that does annoy me, because obviously then yes, but they're not.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Did that annoy you?
- 7:04Speaker 2: It annoyed me a.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Little bit, right, And I was like, well, you know,
- 7:08Speaker 3: obviously that's where I locked, because that's where we put them.
- 7:11Speaker 3: And then I text it back and said, nope, nada, zero zip.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I've looked everywhere. I can't find them. And she said, oh,
- 7:18Speaker 3: I've got to go, but I'll have a look in
- 7:21Speaker 3: my bag later on.
- 7:22Speaker 2: And I'm like later on later on.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Because you had important stuff to go and do.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Right, Well, it was I had a morning or panning
- 7:30Speaker 3: down a few errands to run, so I did another
- 7:32Speaker 3: half in rubbish bins. I went on the couch, I
- 7:36Speaker 3: looked under couches, under duvets, under everything. I text my
- 7:40Speaker 3: wife back and I said to her, I'm very confident
- 7:44Speaker 3: my keys are not in the apartment. And she ticks
- 7:47Speaker 3: back and goes weird, and I'm like, yeez. Then she
- 7:52Speaker 3: texts me back and goes, good news. No, they're not
- 7:56Speaker 3: in my bag, and I'm like, okay, well that's not
- 7:59Speaker 3: good good news. Then yeah, because she thought she might
- 8:02Speaker 3: have taken them with it incently and so I was like,
- 8:06Speaker 3: oh my god. Now you got to understand, I can't
- 8:09Speaker 3: get in and out of the apartment. I can't do anything.
- 8:11Speaker 3: You can get out, I.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Can get out, but I can't get back in. So
- 8:14Speaker 2: I'm a prisoner in my own home. I can't move.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Yeah, So I look around again, and then I and
- 8:20Speaker 3: then I text it back and I go, what about
- 8:22Speaker 3: in the car? And she said why would they be
- 8:24Speaker 3: in the car. And I said, well, I don't know,
- 8:27Speaker 3: but I'm running out of running out of options here.
- 8:30Speaker 3: My daughter had the car. So I texted here and said,
- 8:33Speaker 3: can you look in the car and see if they're
- 8:35Speaker 3: in the car. And she said, yeah, I'm just busy
- 8:38Speaker 3: right now, but in half an hour I'll have a
- 8:40Speaker 3: look if and and Jeff and again looking around, couldn't
- 8:45Speaker 3: find them. Then I get a text back from my
- 8:47Speaker 3: daughter saying they're here.
- 8:49Speaker 2: They're in the car now, sat up in order for
- 8:53Speaker 2: them the dinner the car. In order for them to get.
- 8:56Speaker 3: In the car, my wife would have had to have
- 8:58Speaker 3: had them three times and position. She would have then
- 9:01Speaker 3: had to get a new car and take the keys
- 9:04Speaker 3: and put them in her car. And my keys are
- 9:07Speaker 3: substantially bigger and bulkier than her keys.
- 9:10Speaker 2: So she did that.
- 9:11Speaker 3: She said, Oh, the good news says we've got to
- 9:13Speaker 3: spare car keys, so you can go and get your
- 9:15Speaker 3: car and drive out and come and get them.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Don't throw stuff at the studio.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Felthy. So I had to drive all the way back out.
- 9:24Speaker 2: I couldn't get in because of course the swamp to get.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Into the car park is on my bloody car keys.
- 9:31Speaker 4: So do you have the keys now?
- 9:32Speaker 2: I do, but I had to drive to whist Auckland
- 9:34Speaker 2: to get them up an hour and a half.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Full of ship. Oh you got them now?
- 9:42Speaker 2: Man ruined memory. Hell's just it's my wife's fault.
- 9:50Speaker 3: She's beautiful, she's attractive, she's.
- 9:55Speaker 1: The whole actual Big Show with Jason, Mike and Keysy.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Tune in weekdays of four on Radio hod A Key.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Yes, indeed the mws there on the Radio Hodarchy Big
- 10:05Speaker 3: Show this Tuesday afternoon.
- 10:06Speaker 2: The time is four thirty.
- 10:07Speaker 4: If you just joined us, Hoidy j just told a
- 10:09Speaker 4: tale of his morning, which involved him being locked inside
- 10:11Speaker 4: his apartment Infan and Jeff in for about four or
- 10:13Speaker 4: five hours. Yeah about that, because someone had taken off
- 10:16Speaker 4: in your car with your car keys. Sometimes the listeners
- 10:21Speaker 4: here at Radiohurdarchy are great. They do help us out.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Someone who's actually got some great advice. Jase on three
- 10:26Speaker 4: for three. Did you look in your massive honker.
- 10:31Speaker 2: It's the keys? Good question?
- 10:34Speaker 4: Did you check it?
- 10:38Speaker 2: Fellas, I had a bit of a shock of the
- 10:41Speaker 2: other day as well. Actually if yeah, yeah, I know,
- 10:43Speaker 2: it doesn't ever much, man, it doesn't help much. But
- 10:46Speaker 2: there was a bit of a backstory to the sex
- 10:49Speaker 2: story I'm about to tell. So I came home and
- 10:53Speaker 2: my wife was cleaning up our bed having to dry
- 10:56Speaker 2: it out because my daughter had taken a water bottle
- 10:59Speaker 2: which he always hairs with it, and she chucked it
- 11:02Speaker 2: on our bed at some point on my side of
- 11:04Speaker 2: the bed, might I add, and the entire bottle just
- 11:07Speaker 2: leaked out all through the douvet, all through the sheets,
- 11:11Speaker 2: my pillows, the well rest thinging underneath all of that.
- 11:15Speaker 2: So when I got home tho I was spending there
- 11:17Speaker 2: spend a bit of time trying to dry that up,
- 11:19Speaker 2: and it was I don't care. You won't stress me out.
- 11:23Speaker 2: It doesn't seem like you don't worry about me. Man,
- 11:25Speaker 2: I didn't have the ref Honestly, I didn't care at all.
- 11:28Speaker 2: And then so then later that we have a beautiful evening,
- 11:31Speaker 2: eating delicious food and watching you know, come down with me,
- 11:34Speaker 2: and then going to bed at about eight o'clock, because
- 11:36Speaker 2: that's how I lived my life. Anyway, i get into
- 11:39Speaker 2: bed and I'm pulling up the sheets and I'm like, well,
- 11:41Speaker 2: you haven't done a very good job here because this
- 11:45Speaker 2: these sheets and this douvet is still there's still soaking wet,
- 11:49Speaker 2: and so anyway I've got I've I'm like, look at it,
- 11:53Speaker 2: it's absolutely saturated. So now I've got as I pulled
- 11:55Speaker 2: it up, and it's all over my face and everything.
- 11:57Speaker 2: And my wife's like, no, I'm sure we've tried it
- 11:59Speaker 2: out completely fine. Then I smelled it and I realized
- 12:02Speaker 2: it was a cat purse from my cat. And that's
- 12:10Speaker 2: that's not a mild smelling urination either. Now, when I
- 12:14Speaker 2: tell you that cat purse was on my lips, I
- 12:18Speaker 2: ain't lying, old pursed Lipsmogi. Now that that cat, I
- 12:26Speaker 2: love that cat.
- 12:27Speaker 4: What's its name again, bird shit Chris Chris. Once again,
- 12:34Speaker 4: that name was chosen by the listeners of the.
- 12:37Speaker 2: It was kesy. It was called bird chick Chris when
- 12:39Speaker 2: he was a young fella. He didn't like the name
- 12:41Speaker 2: being used, so we said, it's too good a name
- 12:42Speaker 2: to not be used. It's called my cat, bird chick Chris,
- 12:45Speaker 2: and the and the audience agreed. Yes. So I ended
- 12:48Speaker 2: up there with you're at the cat purse on my
- 12:51Speaker 2: face and on my chest and neck, and I had
- 12:54Speaker 2: to go and wash myself.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Do you realize what your new nickname is, bird ship Chris. No,
- 12:59Speaker 4: you're the nickname is cat Persemogi. But because your cat's
- 13:03Speaker 4: name is bird ship Chris, it's like bird ship Chris,
- 13:06Speaker 4: purse Mogi. That's your new nickname.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I'm fine with it. I mean that when the shoe fits, man,
- 13:13Speaker 2: you just got to wear it. Have you ever had that?
- 13:16Speaker 2: Fellows you ever had in your mouth?
- 13:19Speaker 4: And that?
- 13:20Speaker 2: Did you ever think any of the listeners out there
- 13:24Speaker 2: three for eight three you ever had any cats person
- 13:26Speaker 2: your face? Not on my face?
- 13:29Speaker 4: Remember one time I was in the shower, Yeah, and
- 13:34Speaker 4: I stepped down onto the bath man it was already wet.
- 13:37Speaker 4: What the hell turns up. My cat Smudge had done
- 13:40Speaker 4: wheeze on the bath man.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Do you get wheeze on your feet?
- 13:43Speaker 4: Yeah, in the shower and washed it and then you
- 13:49Speaker 4: got back stood on it again. Actually, I was kind
- 13:53Speaker 4: of trapped to the shower. You're right. That makes me
- 13:57Speaker 4: feel heaps. Yeah, I mean that's way worse.
- 14:01Speaker 1: All over your your The Archy Big Show with Jason,
- 14:05Speaker 1: Mike and Kyzy Tune in four on radio.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I actually think yeum, I actually think that's my favorite sting.
- 14:19Speaker 2: There's something about it that just tickles my fancy.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I like that it just comes out of a song
- 14:24Speaker 4: straight away into Who Want Three Bigger?
- 14:28Speaker 3: It appeals to me on so many levels.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Maky's steak quiet he hates it.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Yeah, well maybe are you I just waiting hearing you
- 14:34Speaker 2: guys happy?
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:35Speaker 2: That's true, man, this is so cool. It's been a
- 14:36Speaker 2: tough day.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Hey, whenever you hear the sting in the middle of
- 14:40Speaker 3: a song, give us a call on No. Eight hundred
- 14:43Speaker 3: hoh lucky, I tell you who did do that, and
- 14:46Speaker 3: that's Lucas. Get a Lucas your man, bastard. How's life?
- 14:49Speaker 5: You're good? Mate? Who Want Three Big?
- 14:53Speaker 4: That's pretty good?
- 14:54Speaker 2: That is good. I thought you'd played it again. But
- 14:58Speaker 2: this is the thing as good at this sort of thing.
- 15:01Speaker 4: So you think Lucas might be okay?
- 15:04Speaker 2: Interesting, how Lucas?
- 15:06Speaker 5: Yeah, pretty good, thanks Jason.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, good stuff. Mate.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Now you're gonna have to go through the AI test,
- 15:12Speaker 3: hez He's going to ask you some questions just to
- 15:14Speaker 3: figure out if you're AI or not.
- 15:16Speaker 4: All right, yeah, fair enough enough, okay. First question on
- 15:20Speaker 4: the AI test? What do you do for a crust?
- 15:23Speaker 5: Uh? Diesel?
- 15:26Speaker 2: Love that Diesel McKenna work.
- 15:29Speaker 5: You can't get how you have to do that? Mate?
- 15:31Speaker 6: No?
- 15:32Speaker 3: Bloody oats, bloody oats, bloody oats.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Mate.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Uh, Lucas, what's for tea tonight?
- 15:38Speaker 2: Man?
- 15:41Speaker 5: That's a good question. I haven't it. I haven't asked,
- 15:44Speaker 5: and I don't know.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Yeah, right, okay, I don't know what a I probably
- 15:49Speaker 4: would make something up.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Yeah, they'd be off quick off the mark there. I
- 15:53Speaker 2: don't know if AI is as sexist as Lucas.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Hey, tomorrow, Tomorrow I cooked dinner.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I wouldn't cook dinner on a Wednesday. That's a
- 16:07Speaker 4: week you Lucas, Hey, Lucas, or should I say AI?
- 16:12Speaker 4: How often do you feel us?
- 16:17Speaker 5: Not often? Yeah, under the dentist and I've told me
- 16:20Speaker 5: I need to do it more.
- 16:21Speaker 2: So, Yeah, they do, they do.
- 16:25Speaker 4: That's just big teeth, big teeth. Yeah, conspiracy.
- 16:28Speaker 5: I'd say probably ten times in my life a year.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Lucas twenty four.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Yeah, you're back though, man, once every turn and a
- 16:41Speaker 4: half years to get the old floss out. Hey, what
- 16:43Speaker 4: color are your undies?
- 16:44Speaker 5: Lucas actually actually turquoise blue today?
- 16:51Speaker 4: And last question, what's your deepest fear?
- 16:57Speaker 5: I would not be too stoked to be stuck in
- 16:59Speaker 5: the middle the ocean.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, fair enough, Okay Lucas, congratulations mate, you can't
- 17:06Speaker 4: confirm you are not AI?
- 17:08Speaker 2: Yeah, good stuff, it's good.
- 17:10Speaker 5: That's good.
- 17:10Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's great. And as you aren't AI,
- 17:13Speaker 4: we consider you a rebig about your right, so you
- 17:15Speaker 4: hold the line. Nold Pugson will sort you out, beauty.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Thanks guys.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Thrilled that would be that would be a gnally. I've
- 17:24Speaker 3: started watching the sky on YouTube. He's a young Kiwi
- 17:26Speaker 3: bloke and he's a kayak fisherman and he is probably
- 17:30Speaker 3: twenty one twenty two, and it's called van Life or something,
- 17:34Speaker 3: and he just goes out on his kayak and catches massive.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Kingies and snapper. It's he's extraordinary. His camera work is amazing.
- 17:42Speaker 3: But he's often attacked by sharks, right, and we're talking
- 17:46Speaker 3: big bastards and he's.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Right out in the water there.
- 17:50Speaker 3: That would be pretty terrifying if you're in deep water
- 17:52Speaker 3: and you you're getting surrounded by sharks for example.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Well, just having to tread water for a long time.
- 18:00Speaker 2: So there was that one in these wasn't here the
- 18:02Speaker 2: other day a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, and the kids.
- 18:04Speaker 2: So mum and the kids. I don't know. I did
- 18:06Speaker 2: quite get on to how they found themselves in the
- 18:08Speaker 2: middle of the ocean, but mum there sent one of
- 18:12Speaker 2: the kids back, he was twelve or thirteen and four
- 18:14Speaker 2: k swim back to land to call for help.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Wow, And he crawled out of the ocean. And then
- 18:20Speaker 4: you know, people came over to say, what's up is that?
- 18:22Speaker 4: You've got to see how from my mom and my
- 18:24Speaker 4: brother I think it was little brother. Yeah, and he
- 18:26Speaker 4: saved them all.
- 18:27Speaker 2: What a hero. Yeah, that's pretty awesome. That's not bad, man,
- 18:29Speaker 2: that's pretty.
- 18:30Speaker 4: What's not pretty, it's it's okay. He saved their lives.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Come on, man, there's guns.
- 18:42Speaker 4: Hang on can you even swim.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Really badly?
- 18:46Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 18:47Speaker 3: Right?
- 18:52Speaker 1: The Hurarchy Big Show week days from four on Radio Hdarchy.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Guns Roses there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
- 19:01Speaker 3: Tuesday evening. Right now, it's time for some TV chat.
- 19:06Speaker 2: What's on the Telly with Mike Minogue? Yeah, come on,
- 19:13Speaker 2: I keep forgetting just that. Yeah, yeah, that's how it starts.
- 19:20Speaker 2: That's how it starts, feels hey. Over the weekend, I
- 19:23Speaker 2: finally got to watch One Battle after Another as directed
- 19:27Speaker 2: by Paul Thomas Anderson, starringly Now Lenn Addict to Kept
- 19:30Speaker 2: You a Vaninicio del Toro, Sean Sean penny Wise. Yeah,
- 19:38Speaker 2: it's all right, to be honest with you, it's good.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I liked it, but it didn't meet up to the
- 19:43Speaker 2: hype that I was that everyone just absolutely loved it,
- 19:46Speaker 2: so I was bit guarded about that. But I've also
- 19:48Speaker 2: watched Paul Thomas Anderson films before where I haven't really
- 19:51Speaker 2: been into them on the first watch, but then I've
- 19:52Speaker 2: loved them later, and I'm hoping that's the case with us,
- 19:55Speaker 2: like that happened with There Will Be Blood. I really
- 19:57Speaker 2: want to watch that very very good, very good, but
- 20:01Speaker 2: I hate it the first time. But I was massively hungover,
- 20:04Speaker 2: but I wasn't hungover this time. I just sort of
- 20:06Speaker 2: found that it was a bunch of stuff happening. It
- 20:08Speaker 2: looked great in the great acting. Leonardo was very funny,
- 20:11Speaker 2: Nicio was great. It was all great, but it just
- 20:14Speaker 2: seemed to be a bunch of things happening, and there
- 20:16Speaker 2: wasn't really any kind of character development happening at all.
- 20:20Speaker 2: It was just Yeah, so three stars, three busies for
- 20:24Speaker 2: old Margie yept. Have you watched Train Dreams yet? Nonsas?
- 20:33Speaker 2: Have you watched the Ben Stokes documentary that it changed me?
- 20:38Speaker 3: Actually, I watched I watched a series called The Abandons.
- 20:45Speaker 2: On Netflix.
- 20:46Speaker 3: There it's second eating fifties in Washington on the frontier.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Two matriarchs fighting it out, one rich one poor Gillian
- 20:55Speaker 3: Anderson is one of the is the rich one and
- 20:58Speaker 3: what's your name, Lena yea Cercy. Yeah, it is the
- 21:03Speaker 3: poor sort and there's the two matriarchs sort of fighting out.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Lots sort of Western kind of action going on.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Let me just say there's a lot of scenes that
- 21:11Speaker 3: are in the dark, you know, like at nighttime, or
- 21:15Speaker 3: there's scenes in barns or in bars, very dark, so
- 21:22Speaker 3: dark that you cannot actually see what the bloody hell.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Is going on.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Jason's moved to a new apartment with a giant window
- 21:31Speaker 4: next to the TV. What are the curtains like? Brilliant
- 21:35Speaker 4: really best in the world at number one.
- 21:37Speaker 3: And it's a great TV, great clarity of picture. And
- 21:39Speaker 3: I'm watching this going I can't see what the bloody hell.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Is going on.
- 21:44Speaker 4: I still think you're looking at your microwave and I.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Wonder, you know, And in situations like that, so many
- 21:49Speaker 3: scenes like that where you just can't make out what's happening,
- 21:52Speaker 3: are like, surely they watch it when somebody does anyone else, Fine,
- 22:00Speaker 3: it's really hard to see because I don't know what's
- 22:02Speaker 3: going on here.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Maybe they couldn't afford a lighting director.
- 22:05Speaker 2: It's so weird. So because of that two buzzy wow,
- 22:13Speaker 2: it was pretty good for something you can and see. Yeah,
- 22:15Speaker 2: I mean the rest of it is okay, it's not amazing.
- 22:18Speaker 2: It's you know, you sure you were?
- 22:19Speaker 4: It's kind of pet Are you sure you weren't watching
- 22:22Speaker 4: an audio book?
- 22:23Speaker 2: Yes?
- 22:26Speaker 4: On Friday? Do you recall that my wife and I
- 22:28Speaker 4: were choosing between watching The Green Mile or the Pike River. Yes,
- 22:33Speaker 4: we watched the trailer for both. I watched the Pike
- 22:37Speaker 4: of a movie and I said, look, it looks excellent.
- 22:39Speaker 4: I've heard it's great, amazing performances from some brilliant key
- 22:42Speaker 4: we actors. It looks depressing and I'm not in the
- 22:45Speaker 4: mood for that. And then she was like, yeah, fair enough.
- 22:48Speaker 4: And then we watched the Green Mile trailer and I
- 22:49Speaker 4: was like that that's more like.
- 22:50Speaker 2: It, because I know it's a great film, great film.
- 22:53Speaker 4: And then we went to hire that it was going
- 22:55Speaker 4: to cost five bucks or something. That's fine, and then
- 22:57Speaker 4: she was like, oh, is that by the same guy
- 23:00Speaker 4: who made The Short Shank Redemption? And I was like yes,
- 23:02Speaker 4: and she's like, oh, let's watch that. I've only seen
- 23:03Speaker 4: that once and it was ages ago. And so we
- 23:05Speaker 4: watch The Short Shank Redemption. If you haven't seen it, right,
- 23:09Speaker 4: everyone knows about it. It is the best film I
- 23:12Speaker 4: have ever seen.
- 23:13Speaker 2: And it's a great movie. If you're listening, you go yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Yeah, whatever. But if you haven't seen that, watch it immediately.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Holy shit, it is good and I have seen it
- 23:21Speaker 4: a billion times.
- 23:21Speaker 2: We're going to watch it. My wife said, oh, we
- 23:24Speaker 2: should put that on. When I had Grandma Sue standing,
- 23:26Speaker 2: I was like, there are some scenes that are quite
- 23:29Speaker 2: confronting there. I think we'll give it a mess.
- 23:31Speaker 4: A couple yeah, with the sisters.
- 23:33Speaker 3: And I think the Green Marle is going to freak
- 23:35Speaker 3: your wife out a little bit too. There's some scenes
- 23:37Speaker 3: in that that are that sort.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Of especially the electric chair scene. Yes, I'm aware of that,
- 23:41Speaker 4: but yeah so, but if you haven't seen the short Redemption,
- 23:44Speaker 4: watch the fricking thing. It is the best film.
- 23:46Speaker 3: The mouse scene, yeah yeah, in the prison there.
- 23:49Speaker 4: I don't want to spoil the whole movie. Man, how
- 23:51Speaker 4: what's coming up after five? Jason the Kings?
- 23:57Speaker 1: Would I keep Big Show with Mike and tune in
- 24:01Speaker 1: weekdays and four on Radio hod.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I can welcome back your messive Bagbones. Hope you're surviving
- 24:05Speaker 3: your Tuesday afternoon. You're listening to the Big Show brought
- 24:08Speaker 3: to you by Rebuke gear.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Fray with the street food freshly made with Reburg gear.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Loves it, he does.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I might, actually, because my wife's saying her rehearsing her
- 24:28Speaker 3: plate to night, I.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Might do a bit of Reburger action.
- 24:31Speaker 3: I mean, I don't want to say it's kind of
- 24:37Speaker 3: bachelor food, because it's more than that.
- 24:41Speaker 4: It's so much it's so much more than.
- 24:43Speaker 2: You know what I mean. I mean, it's family food,
- 24:45Speaker 2: it's couplely food, it's celebration food, just commiseration. Tuning out.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I'm gonna eat some rebig gear.
- 24:53Speaker 4: It's a burger restaurant exactly.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yeah. I think they'd probably be eat or takeaway. Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Speaking of which, fellas are coming up this Friday. Of course,
- 25:06Speaker 3: I've invited you over to my pad to have a
- 25:09Speaker 3: few nipples.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Is this something, because yes, it's great. You're inviting us
- 25:14Speaker 4: all around. We'll bringing our partners. We're gonna have a
- 25:15Speaker 4: little housewarming sort of shindg for you. Nothing massive.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Well, you know, we have to be done by seven
- 25:21Speaker 3: forty five because the locals like to go and sleep.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Baby.
- 25:24Speaker 4: Well, it takes twenty minutes to walk there from here.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yes, it'll be good.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Twenty five minutes, get wolf down your food and pass
- 25:29Speaker 3: off amogi.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Absolutely. Yeah, Yeah, I'm doing Yes, I'm taking a takeaway container. Yeah,
- 25:37Speaker 2: and then I'm walking out the door.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Sweet. I'm really looking forward to it. Glad I keep
- 25:41Speaker 4: my Friday open.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Good.
- 25:43Speaker 4: What I was gonna ask though, is there a reason
- 25:44Speaker 4: why we've been doing the show for almost five years
- 25:46Speaker 4: and you never invited us to your house, but you
- 25:49Speaker 4: were like, straight away you up come to my apartment.
- 25:51Speaker 3: No, not particularly, it's just that you've been banging on
- 25:55Speaker 3: about me never inviting you.
- 25:57Speaker 2: But I've never been to your house either, Keisy.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, because i don't have any weird to host.
- 26:01Speaker 4: So I've got a little love of me the house.
- 26:03Speaker 2: You know, we'll we'll just make.
- 26:05Speaker 5: It, do you know what I mean? Right?
- 26:08Speaker 4: Okay, I didn't really answer the question, but yeah, okay,
- 26:10Speaker 4: we'll just make do.
- 26:11Speaker 1: No.
- 26:11Speaker 2: I love my old house.
- 26:12Speaker 3: It would have been Actually it's actually a good party
- 26:14Speaker 3: house that was back in the day solo parties. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:19Speaker 3: because it was such a shack joe pass it today
- 26:24Speaker 3: actually freaking out the new tenant, Nah, just had to
- 26:30Speaker 3: pick up mccarkeys. Of course, as previously mentioned.
- 26:33Speaker 1: The whole archy Big show was Jason, Mike and Keyzy tune.
- 26:36Speaker 3: In four on Radio Hoky White Stripes there on the radio,
- 26:41Speaker 3: hold Arkey Big Show this Tuesday evening.
- 26:44Speaker 2: The time is five thirteen fellers.
- 26:46Speaker 4: This Friday, we're going around to Jason Hoyt's house for
- 26:48Speaker 4: a housewarming, the official housewarming of.
- 26:51Speaker 2: The Jews Perlers.
- 26:57Speaker 4: No, that's the that's the name of the apartment, Joseph.
- 27:00Speaker 4: It's got to sting. Now it's official that tow it works.
- 27:02Speaker 4: We're getting T shirts made, Yeah, jizz Palace t shirts.
- 27:07Speaker 3: We are not calling it the jizz Palace.
- 27:09Speaker 4: The T shirt's cool because it's got that photo of
- 27:11Speaker 4: you as Parker from Thunderbird standing in the apartment as.
- 27:16Speaker 3: That would be quite cool. I'm in yeah, just palace
- 27:18Speaker 3: it is.
- 27:18Speaker 4: But the issue is my go to housewoman gift is
- 27:21Speaker 4: a lovely bottle of wine. Yeah, usually like a bottle
- 27:23Speaker 4: of red wine. Twenty bucks, you know, sure, down from
- 27:27Speaker 4: twenty to like fourteen.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Well this is the good thing about wines too, generally speaking,
- 27:33Speaker 3: is you can buy a shitter and no one will
- 27:35Speaker 3: ever really know as long as that looks good.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah you know what. Yeah, nice label, pretty label.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Yes, Actually, I reckon half the people that buy wine
- 27:44Speaker 4: and don't usually drink it buy it based on the
- 27:47Speaker 4: design of the label.
- 27:48Speaker 2: It's betting on horses. You go by the name.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, But because you guys don't really drink, you
- 27:54Speaker 4: don't drink obviously, your partner doesn't drink.
- 27:57Speaker 3: No, not really, And I give a crap about it. Yeah, right,
- 28:00Speaker 3: what's wrong with you?
- 28:01Speaker 4: Get stuck in?
- 28:02Speaker 3: But she's like, nah, I just don't enjoy it.
- 28:04Speaker 4: So what do I bring as a housewarming gift?
- 28:06Speaker 2: Well? I think of the situation and in this kind
- 28:09Speaker 2: of setup, the tradition is cash? Just cash?
- 28:15Speaker 4: What do you mean the tradition? There's no tradition there.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Well, I mean if if you're going to a housewarming
- 28:19Speaker 3: and you can't bring wine, I think generally what people
- 28:22Speaker 3: do is they bring cash.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Well how much cash? Well, it depends on the value
- 28:26Speaker 4: of the bottle of wine.
- 28:27Speaker 3: So fourteen dollars, Well, that would be embarrassing because then
- 28:29Speaker 3: you're going to be found out.
- 28:30Speaker 2: I don't want to bring any change. No, No, it's
- 28:34Speaker 2: going to be the stuff.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Yeah, like, just come and whip out a couple of
- 28:38Speaker 3: you know, five twenties and then I'll just put it
- 28:43Speaker 3: in the kiddy.
- 28:44Speaker 2: You sort of think about the value of the meal,
- 28:46Speaker 2: so you think yourself, they go and go to the
- 28:47Speaker 2: Jiz Palace, how much is that? Straight away on the name,
- 28:50Speaker 2: I'm thinking to myself, that's twenty thirty bucks.
- 28:53Speaker 4: I will pay.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Now, who's cooking? Jason wife? Jason's had not thing but
- 29:00Speaker 2: terrible things to say. About her cooking. So you're going
- 29:02Speaker 2: to keep the price down, so that drops it down down.
- 29:05Speaker 2: So but and how many of you are going? So
- 29:07Speaker 2: there's too, there's you and your wife.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Yeah, but I might do platters or something.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's you know, that's not going to happen.
- 29:13Speaker 2: That's not going to adjust the price. So for me,
- 29:14Speaker 2: I'm going thirty bucks for the Jew's palace and I'm
- 29:17Speaker 2: going fifteen dollars ahead. I'm not going to be drinking anything.
- 29:19Speaker 2: I'll just be on the water. So I'm giving absolutely
- 29:22Speaker 2: nothing for the drinks. I just saying no thanks. I
- 29:24Speaker 2: just I have tap water. Thanks for rematche. So in
- 29:27Speaker 2: your case now I'm thinking as well about the parking.
- 29:30Speaker 2: The parking's going to cost me money. So now right
- 29:32Speaker 2: now I'm at sixty dollars for the cash, but I'm
- 29:35Speaker 2: thinking parking that's probably going to be ten bucks. I'm
- 29:36Speaker 2: not paying for parking. Take ten bucks off the sixty bucks.
- 29:39Speaker 2: I'm down to fifty fifty dollars.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Again, just in your case there keys He and probably
- 29:43Speaker 3: pugs On too. We're probably talking a hundi for the drink.
- 29:46Speaker 3: The drink's part of it, right, So you supplying drinks. Yeah,
- 29:50Speaker 3: but I want you to pay me back, right, Okay, So.
- 29:52Speaker 4: I bring one hundred dollars fifty dollars for the housewoman gift, yes,
- 29:58Speaker 4: and then I drink, so give you another fifty dollars
- 30:00Speaker 4: for drinks.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Well, well, look, the people do it different ways, but
- 30:05Speaker 2: I certainly know when I would go. Oftentimes you can.
- 30:07Speaker 2: There's two ways to do it. You could run a tab.
- 30:09Speaker 2: You just run a tab and then before you walk
- 30:12Speaker 2: out the door, he'll tell you how much you over
- 30:14Speaker 2: each drink, and or you can pay per drink, but
- 30:18Speaker 2: that's deemed apartment.
- 30:22Speaker 3: It's better to have it just a tabod it's easier
- 30:25Speaker 3: for me.
- 30:25Speaker 2: It's because it can be a little bit embarrassing when
- 30:28Speaker 2: you're having to dole out cash by the drinks. It's
- 30:31Speaker 2: a little bit low rent.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Yeah, totally, I'm even prepared. I'm even prepared at this stage.
- 30:37Speaker 3: So you know, you can pay me the next day
- 30:40Speaker 3: or just direct credit and to make account or whatever,
- 30:42Speaker 3: so we don't actually have to deal.
- 30:43Speaker 2: With the cash on the day because it can make
- 30:45Speaker 2: things a bit awkward.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Because we're going to the Jim's Palace, not going to
- 30:49Speaker 4: the Jiz bistro. Like why am I paying? Or do
- 30:52Speaker 4: you have drink specials on a Friday?
- 30:54Speaker 3: We do from four or seven?
- 30:57Speaker 2: Damn it.
- 30:57Speaker 4: That's when the show's on, isn't it.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Yeah, unfortunately that's the happy hour. Right.
- 31:02Speaker 4: Well, look, there's a great suggestions, and if I can't
- 31:05Speaker 4: think of anything better, I will bring some cash. But
- 31:07Speaker 4: for the listeners, three four eight three send through. What
- 31:10Speaker 4: do you think I should take as a housewarming gift?
- 31:12Speaker 4: Considering the fact that Jays doesn't drink. Every text in
- 31:15Speaker 4: the draw for a reburg of voucher that's three four
- 31:16Speaker 4: eight three.
- 31:19Speaker 3: And I was thinking your wife could do something for desserts.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Maybe cheeze cake.
- 31:27Speaker 2: No, she's not doing a cake. She's never making you
- 31:29Speaker 2: a cake ever again.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Cheesecake.
- 31:31Speaker 1: The Darky Big Show weekdays from four on Radio Holdak.
- 31:35Speaker 3: I took monkeys there on the radio hold Aki Big
- 31:38Speaker 3: Show this Tuesday afternoon, twenty five minutes to past twenty.
- 31:45Speaker 2: It's very confusing, twenty five minutes to pass. Ah.
- 31:50Speaker 4: Hey, this Friday, we're doing a bit of a housewarming
- 31:52Speaker 4: at the Jews.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Permers, the mayor of Jiztown is.
- 32:02Speaker 4: But do we have the record for them saying that
- 32:04Speaker 4: the most on the radio?
- 32:05Speaker 3: I think so quite all related to me, I might note.
- 32:08Speaker 4: That's right, so we're all heading along. I was gonna
- 32:12Speaker 4: bring a housewarming gift, usually a bottle of red wine
- 32:15Speaker 4: you don't drink, so to be a waste. So I've
- 32:16Speaker 4: taken suggestions on three four eight three. Also on our
- 32:19Speaker 4: Instagram page, pugs had a little thing where you could
- 32:21Speaker 4: comment suggestions too. Yes, so some great suggestions are coming
- 32:24Speaker 4: through a framed war map of Vietnam.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Very nice. Actually, I love a bit of wool art.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I quite like the sound of that. I quite like
- 32:36Speaker 2: the sound of that. Jason. Also, I think you know
- 32:38Speaker 2: somebody that's texted through here that you should bring. You
- 32:40Speaker 2: should bring an offering of food. Yeah, and I think
- 32:43Speaker 2: that's quite considerate. Key, I think you should think about that.
- 32:46Speaker 6: Man.
- 32:47Speaker 2: If it's not going to be something to drink, something
- 32:49Speaker 2: to eat, there's an option. And that's why Jason's suggestion
- 32:53Speaker 2: about the cake from your wife, I just think you're
- 32:55Speaker 2: missing a trick there, brother, And we're not turning this
- 32:58Speaker 2: into a Kesey's wife's cake chat. Sean great suggestion. Some
- 33:03Speaker 2: gourmet food, a gourmet food item like olive oil, like
- 33:06Speaker 2: a really nice olive oil. Not bad I like that.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I love truffle oil for example.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Oh yes, sure, yes, but even.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Got a special little cabinet and now oven there for
- 33:17Speaker 3: all the oils you pull.
- 33:20Speaker 4: Out very flesh, flesh oven at the Jiz Palace.
- 33:23Speaker 2: What about miladies carkis.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Yeah, well after today's debarc or probably.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Sandy sees a bonze eye tree.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Love it?
- 33:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I love it. I suppose for a man of
- 33:35Speaker 4: your stature, there'd be like a regular tree, wouldn't ith. Yeah.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Someone here is suggesting a box of Connies, but I
- 33:42Speaker 4: don't want to. I don't want to steal pugs.
- 33:44Speaker 2: This thunder and you know I'm not a big fan
- 33:46Speaker 2: of cornies.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I don't really get this one Fellers, which came through.
- 33:50Speaker 4: This came through on the old Instagram. Then it's from
- 33:52Speaker 4: Ryan A bird ship and a tupperware container for kesy.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Yeah it's not your party, No exactly.
- 34:00Speaker 3: I was going to your house, that's what I to
- 34:01Speaker 3: take a bird ship there.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Yeah, because you know it's hard to you know, to
- 34:05Speaker 2: find a bird in the first instance, Yes, then to
- 34:08Speaker 2: find one that needs to do a ship and then
- 34:09Speaker 2: to catch and a ice cream container or doubleware.
- 34:13Speaker 4: It's a steamer.
- 34:15Speaker 2: A bird steamer.
- 34:18Speaker 4: Someone here suggested online a bag of kitty me not
- 34:20Speaker 4: even know what that.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Is, and also a bag someone else is saying a
- 34:23Speaker 2: bag here. We can't just bring a bag a bag
- 34:25Speaker 2: of Why are we bringing bags?
- 34:27Speaker 4: Durries? You're off the durries now, Yeah, you're doing well, man.
- 34:30Speaker 3: There's no smoking in the apartment, sorry fellas.
- 34:33Speaker 4: Okay, Jack has suggested a full DVD collection of Thunderbirds.
- 34:38Speaker 4: You can just sort of see your life's work.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Don't have a dvdas he's thinking about this, and just
- 34:42Speaker 2: see here you go in your apartment, everything like that.
- 34:44Speaker 2: What about a secondhand vacuum cleaner Logie, yes it's still here.
- 34:51Speaker 2: That is a great idea. No Noggie's old vacuum cleaner.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I have just spent weeks getting rid of shit. I
- 34:58Speaker 3: don't want more of it in my apart.
- 35:00Speaker 2: It's good for vacuuming stuff up, man, really good, really good.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Plus I could give it a nickname like the jizz vacuum.
- 35:09Speaker 1: The Hdarchy Big Show was Jason, Mike and Kyzy tune
- 35:12Speaker 1: in on.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Radio radio here there on the radio Hodarchy Big Show.
- 35:18Speaker 3: This somewhat blustery Tuesday afternoon. What a special treat we've
- 35:22Speaker 3: got on the studio with us, fellas. We don't often
- 35:26Speaker 3: get a superstar in the show with us, do we?
- 35:28Speaker 3: And I'm talking superstar doesn't often happen. But we've got
- 35:31Speaker 3: one now, the one, the only Brett McKenzie. Get a
- 35:34Speaker 3: break your mad.
- 35:41Speaker 4: It sounds like there's a lot more of you than
- 35:43Speaker 4: there are.
- 35:43Speaker 6: Yes, no, thanks for the thanks for the big ups.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Hell of an entourage you brought in with you as well. Man,
- 35:49Speaker 2: you've got that Hollywood entourage. There is a.
- 35:54Speaker 4: Outside.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Yeah, what's going on? You changed change deal.
- 35:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you've got hip houp now as well.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Okay, is that why you're wearing so much blank at
- 36:02Speaker 3: the moment? Yeah?
- 36:04Speaker 2: On the winning and why you got your hit.
- 36:06Speaker 3: And you've got the plants as well.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I mean, I mean that's you look a bit of
- 36:14Speaker 2: working his plants. What he means there's corn rows but
- 36:17Speaker 2: he didn't know what the definition was there. Yeah.
- 36:19Speaker 6: Yeah, And I'll take my sunglasses off for you guys.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Bread.
- 36:22Speaker 3: It is a privilege, listen. I I've got to apologize
- 36:26Speaker 3: the fellows in the studio at the moment. We're all
- 36:28Speaker 3: running massive zs. So if we look, if we look
- 36:31Speaker 3: a little bit, you can see the one on my face.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Mogi's running a couple of even keysy you guys work
- 36:36Speaker 3: into her.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so you need holiday guys.
- 36:38Speaker 2: It's only even keasy.
- 36:40Speaker 3: He's got beautiful skin running.
- 36:44Speaker 6: You got the biskin.
- 36:45Speaker 2: He's got good skin. He is a young he's younger
- 36:49Speaker 2: by about twenty years. That's a good secret. Good.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Yeah, that pays off nutri GENA. Yeah, it's a moisturizer.
- 36:58Speaker 4: But we've got Britain in the studio, not just talking
- 37:00Speaker 4: about our skin. Felts. You're going on, you're down talking
- 37:05Speaker 4: about the skin.
- 37:06Speaker 2: How is your skin?
- 37:07Speaker 4: Well? You know what if you rock a beard for thirty.
- 37:10Speaker 6: Years, don't As I get older, I can just can
- 37:15Speaker 6: shave off the beard and I look, I'm gonna you know,
- 37:18Speaker 6: I can carve back ten years.
- 37:20Speaker 2: You are clean shaven.
- 37:21Speaker 6: I've done.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I do it once or twice a year.
- 37:23Speaker 6: It terrifies my children, and then my wife tells me,
- 37:26Speaker 6: I look weird as grow back?
- 37:28Speaker 4: Is it one of those things Brett where you grew
- 37:30Speaker 4: a bed because you've got like a weird chin.
- 37:32Speaker 6: I've got quite a pointy face, right, yeah, yeah, quite
- 37:37Speaker 6: el which was for a very short time I was
- 37:43Speaker 6: in Elf and Lord of the Rings, like anyone be
- 37:46Speaker 6: sure if anyone in Wellington was tall and thin with
- 37:50Speaker 6: pointy features, we got where you got cast in the movie.
- 37:54Speaker 6: But yeah, even my kids like, wow, you're quite pointy.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Got quite a pointy, pointy face, yes, offers with the beard.
- 38:01Speaker 3: I didn't even get an audition for Lord of the Rings.
- 38:04Speaker 3: I was pretty filthy about that. I mean, I would
- 38:06Speaker 3: have made quite a great, what we.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Know, hobbit.
- 38:08Speaker 6: You would have been a brilliant hobbit because I've got.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Massive feet, you know, and I'm not a big one.
- 38:13Speaker 6: They did they did the prosthetic hair on the feet,
- 38:16Speaker 6: you know, yes, you know, so that was glued on.
- 38:22Speaker 6: Shod talked about something.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Yeah, let's talk about before it goes on to Jason. Yeah.
- 38:30Speaker 3: I have a very I have a very clear memory, man.
- 38:33Speaker 3: And it was when I was in New York and
- 38:36Speaker 3: I was walking along the street and I saw.
- 38:39Speaker 2: And is it Radio Hall, Radio City, Radio City?
- 38:43Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, And it's a big It's like it's like
- 38:46Speaker 6: New York's Civic it's like the mecha. Yeah, it's a
- 38:48Speaker 6: big one.
- 38:49Speaker 3: And I saw Flight of the Concords and this is
- 38:51Speaker 3: I'm talking years and years and years.
- 38:54Speaker 6: Ago you were talking about twenty twelve.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Yes, and I was like, bugging me, these fellows have
- 39:00Speaker 3: made How was that it.
- 39:01Speaker 6: Was unreal because you'd right, you'd arrive and there'd be
- 39:03Speaker 6: a line around the building of.
- 39:05Speaker 4: People waiting to get in to watch us.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Yes, it was crazy.
- 39:10Speaker 3: Were they're sort of crapping yourself a little bit?
- 39:12Speaker 4: Well, yeah, it's quite freaky.
- 39:14Speaker 6: But luckily our fans are really nice generally, yes, pretty sweet, yeah,
- 39:19Speaker 6: lovely people who would bring us things that made they
- 39:22Speaker 6: were quite There was a big crossover of people who
- 39:24Speaker 6: liked doing crafty, people.
- 39:26Speaker 4: Who liked the concourse.
- 39:27Speaker 6: So our fans, you know, they didn't so much want
- 39:30Speaker 6: us to sign their breast, but they would give us
- 39:32Speaker 6: something they're crocheted even better.
- 39:34Speaker 2: And the crossover real niche with Wellington paranormal and they
- 39:38Speaker 2: give you this all the stuff, you know, because you
- 39:41Speaker 2: go to the fans sort of things and then they
- 39:43Speaker 2: give you these things that they've crafted and they've spent
- 39:45Speaker 2: hours on them, maybe days. What do you do with them?
- 39:49Speaker 2: Because the feeling is that you don't want it, well,
- 39:54Speaker 2: but if you throw it out, will you go to hell?
- 39:56Speaker 2: That's the sort of battle that they're feeling.
- 39:58Speaker 6: You have on the last day the tour in the
- 40:01Speaker 6: hotel room.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Yeah, when you're trying to pack, to pack your.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Suitcase, yes, and it's like can you fit and what
- 40:07Speaker 4: are you doing it?
- 40:08Speaker 2: Can you fit?
- 40:09Speaker 6: The unusual portrait that someone's done of me and Jermaine's
- 40:12Speaker 6: sheep watercolors.
- 40:14Speaker 4: I'm picturing like you've got like ten doily's in your
- 40:16Speaker 4: bag that you're trying to get rid of, a crochet.
- 40:19Speaker 6: I do have a few boxes of unusual fan art
- 40:24Speaker 6: in my mum's garage. Yeah, that I don't know, maybe
- 40:27Speaker 6: an exhibition one day.
- 40:29Speaker 3: It's a Papa, tell you what we're going to do.
- 40:33Speaker 3: We're going to go to one of your tunes.
- 40:35Speaker 2: What's it is it?
- 40:35Speaker 3: Dave, Dave's Space Place, Dave's Place.
- 40:39Speaker 1: The Hiarchy Big Show week days from four on Radio Darky.
- 40:45Speaker 2: And we've got the author of that song with that
- 40:48Speaker 2: right now. That books.
- 40:50Speaker 3: It's available as a book as well, The One and
- 40:52Speaker 3: Only Brett McKenzie Brett. But you know, a genuine question
- 40:56Speaker 3: here with you and Jermaine and Flight to the Concords.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Have you being surprised at how massive you became?
- 41:03Speaker 2: Oh?
- 41:04Speaker 6: I mean yeah, it was quite gradual. So but when
- 41:08Speaker 6: the TV show, the power of a TV show is
- 41:10Speaker 6: something else. Yes, I got if you're if you're a
- 41:13Speaker 6: young band out there and you're looking to if you're
- 41:16Speaker 6: looking at ways to get a bit of impact, get
- 41:17Speaker 6: a TV shows hugely successful, to make a successful show
- 41:21Speaker 6: on a Mason Big yeah, cable network, Yes, I do
- 41:25Speaker 6: remember this. You've got this the wind behind you with
- 41:29Speaker 6: someone like that. Because HBO suddenly there were there were posts,
- 41:34Speaker 6: there were posters in the subway, there were there was
- 41:36Speaker 6: a billboard. Yeah, you know, and you don't get a
- 41:38Speaker 6: billboard normally for things you're making. Yes, so there's this
- 41:42Speaker 6: the engine of this giant jumbo jet kicks and the
- 41:47Speaker 6: common Yeah. With the show ended up, we were lucky
- 41:49Speaker 6: because the show worked and everything, But we're also lucky
- 41:52Speaker 6: because it was also pre streaming, if that makes sense.
- 41:57Speaker 4: You know it's Netflix.
- 41:58Speaker 6: At that point was a video delivery envelope, these red
- 42:00Speaker 6: envelopes in America you get the videos your DVDs sent
- 42:03Speaker 6: to your house. And so it was not quite as
- 42:07Speaker 6: old school as New Zealand in the eighties where it
- 42:09Speaker 6: was just two channels, but it meant on Sunday nights,
- 42:12Speaker 6: there were a few things you could watch, and we
- 42:14Speaker 6: were one of them.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Well, and also the timing of this too. I vividly
- 42:17Speaker 4: remember I was in high school and I think I
- 42:19Speaker 4: had a Flight of the Concords video on my Bibo
- 42:22Speaker 4: site or my MySpace or some MySpace.
- 42:25Speaker 6: Jermain was really into my space. Yeah, it was a
- 42:28Speaker 6: big MySpace.
- 42:30Speaker 4: Yeah, because it's such a bizarre like a couple of
- 42:32Speaker 4: years there where everyone was on MySpace and I got
- 42:33Speaker 4: seen and I used to see in videos of you
- 42:35Speaker 4: guys in your first massive performance. I still remember, like
- 42:38Speaker 4: what I think Jermain's wearing blue or something and you
- 42:41Speaker 4: and it just blew up at my high school and
- 42:42Speaker 4: all of a sudden, your video is being sent to
- 42:44Speaker 4: everyone because of you guys being successful and brilliant, but
- 42:47Speaker 4: also because my Space was so massive all of a sudden.
- 42:49Speaker 6: Yeah, and it was. It was sort of a different
- 42:52Speaker 6: kind of time. I remember YouTube was new, yes, and
- 42:55Speaker 6: then we had a song. We had the song Business
- 42:57Speaker 6: Time became a YouTube sort of same.
- 43:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it wasn't it wasn't. It went minor.
- 43:04Speaker 6: It was a minor viral sensation, but it was it
- 43:07Speaker 6: was out of time when not everyone knew what YouTube
- 43:09Speaker 6: was which is hard to imagine now, Yes, but yeah,
- 43:12Speaker 6: it was amazing. And one thing that's weird, though, Jason,
- 43:16Speaker 6: is we got we did these shows. You remember, we
- 43:19Speaker 6: used to do comedy shows at the Classic. We were
- 43:21Speaker 6: doing shows with you there, and we're still playing the
- 43:25Speaker 6: same songs. You know, we're still singing about David Bowie'
- 43:27Speaker 6: in space and the next thing, we're Radio City in
- 43:29Speaker 6: New York. There's five or six thousand people there. They're
- 43:33Speaker 6: laughing at the same thing. Yeah, and the same moment
- 43:37Speaker 6: in the song that was good at the Classic is
- 43:39Speaker 6: really good at the big venue.
- 43:42Speaker 4: So it's really weird.
- 43:42Speaker 6: Because it doesn't you sort of don't change what's happening
- 43:45Speaker 6: on stage and what's happening. But yeah, it's really cool
- 43:49Speaker 6: seeing how it can translate the same. If something's funny
- 43:52Speaker 6: in a room of people, it's going to be funny
- 43:54Speaker 6: to ten thousand people.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Yes, so weird, right, Yeah, good.
- 43:57Speaker 4: The classic joke I remember from the start of the
- 43:58Speaker 4: set was like, it's really nice be here and and
- 44:00Speaker 4: then Jermaine looks at the back of his guitar and
- 44:02Speaker 4: says America. Yeah, yeah, you know, like he couldn't remember
- 44:05Speaker 4: the country he was in that stuff you would have
- 44:07Speaker 4: done at the Classic and stuff back in the day
- 44:08Speaker 4: as well.
- 44:09Speaker 6: Oh yeah, we spent quite a long time pretending to
- 44:12Speaker 6: be David Bowie. I remember did a get Awkland We're
- 44:14Speaker 6: like to begin with, we used to be.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Like, yeah, are you running to rock accland.
- 44:20Speaker 6: And then we'd start playing a little folk song right
- 44:22Speaker 6: and then but we did that. And we remember one
- 44:24Speaker 6: time we did a sharp here and by the next
- 44:26Speaker 6: day Jermaine didn't have a voice. So the Nick show
- 44:29Speaker 6: he didn't talk at all for the whole.
- 44:30Speaker 4: Show or sing.
- 44:31Speaker 2: What he did he must be a mild, mildly annoying
- 44:36Speaker 2: person to the Tour of the world was because of
- 44:37Speaker 2: course he doesn't drink, but he also doesn't drive.
- 44:41Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I know you've touched a nerve there.
- 44:43Speaker 2: It's a real combination. One is.
- 44:46Speaker 6: It's okay, except often, you know, socially, someone's got to
- 44:49Speaker 6: have a drink.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Yes.
- 44:50Speaker 4: I was like, oh, welcome to town.
- 44:51Speaker 6: We want to take it out for a drink. Great,
- 44:53Speaker 6: what can I get you jas of an orange juice
- 44:55Speaker 6: or a glass of water. And they'd be like, oh, Jude,
- 44:57Speaker 6: this isn't gonna you know that weird think it's not
- 45:00Speaker 6: well I think it's softened now. A lot of people
- 45:02Speaker 6: have like zero O coll beers and everything, but often
- 45:03Speaker 6: it felt like there was a bit of pressure. I'd
- 45:05Speaker 6: have a beer.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Just just give me a bottle of couplet, a couple
- 45:10Speaker 3: of bottles for brown. It has been a busy day,
- 45:14Speaker 3: hey man, because you've got a tour coming up. Yeah, yeah,
- 45:16Speaker 3: I've already seen that you're sold out in some well
- 45:21Speaker 3: a surprise, I've.
- 45:22Speaker 6: Hadded another show Wellington's yes, there's some tickets and then
- 45:24Speaker 6: there's an Auckland show at this school theater called the Hollywood,
- 45:28Speaker 6: which is the movie theater, and then they Gis and Evandale.
- 45:32Speaker 6: It's we were just there this afternoon.
- 45:33Speaker 2: It's so beautiful mate.
- 45:35Speaker 3: That's in my homehood or it used to be able
- 45:37Speaker 3: to move now, but that is a fantastic.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Beauty. Beauty.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Well, if you want to see Britt mackenzie doing his
- 45:45Speaker 4: freak out to the album tour, as mentioned, the gig
- 45:48Speaker 4: on Thursday, the second of April at Meol neuis down
- 45:50Speaker 4: Wellington has sold out, but there's one on the Wednesday
- 45:52Speaker 4: night now, first of April, and on Saturday the fourth
- 45:55Speaker 4: you'll be at the Hollywood in Auckland for tickets, brit
- 45:57Speaker 4: Should they go to your website?
- 45:59Speaker 6: Yeah, you can go to I've built a website, guys.
- 46:01Speaker 6: There's a link that you can press the button and
- 46:03Speaker 6: it links through it that I've got the latest and technology.
- 46:06Speaker 2: How good, yeah, Britt McKinsey dot com com.
- 46:11Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, you got you got to win. No global,
- 46:18Speaker 4: I've gone global.
- 46:19Speaker 2: Good stuff.
- 46:20Speaker 3: Hey, no, Britt, that's fantastic man, Thanks for spending some
- 46:23Speaker 3: time with us. Well done on your success man as well.
- 46:25Speaker 3: That's also Can I get a ticket or something for
- 46:28Speaker 3: this orcklandshier couple?
- 46:29Speaker 2: Maybe? Oh yeah, yeah, a couple of tickets to go,
- 46:32Speaker 2: but just have the tickets.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Well, I'll probably sell them off to other people, you know.
- 46:36Speaker 2: I mean, I love your work.
- 46:39Speaker 4: Makes some money on that.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:40Speaker 3: I'm not very social. Yeah, so I don't want to mix.
- 46:42Speaker 6: We find some people who like to go out, yeah exactly.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, some people who like people exactly the times
- 46:50Speaker 3: I don't like people. So it's been a pleasure. Britt McKenzie.
