- 2:06Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Okay, Beatrice, why don't you give us a little takeaway
- 2:13Speaker 1: something that you thought after you watched the Sister Waves.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Cody's hair yea is absolutely horrid. I was just looking
- 2:23Speaker 2: at it in this one on one. I mean, I
- 2:24Speaker 2: know we've been seeing it all seasoned the last couple
- 2:26Speaker 2: of seasons and stuff like that, but this one on
- 2:28Speaker 2: one with the close up images of his hair, I'm
- 2:31Speaker 2: just like, dude, he's got it shaved on the sides
- 2:35Speaker 2: for some reason, and it's got pulled back and he's
- 2:38Speaker 2: got the two tendrils that are like glued on the top.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I've got a hair band in there too, right,
- 2:45Speaker 1: Like he's getting the bump, the back and the back bump.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I don't understand, like how Robin thinks that's attractive. How
- 2:52Speaker 2: Cody looks in the mirror and is like, yeah, I
- 2:55Speaker 2: look like I have a full head of hair skill
- 2:56Speaker 2: in it.
- 2:59Speaker 1: It's so bad, it's bad. It's getting worse.
- 3:01Speaker 2: It's getting really bad.
- 3:02Speaker 1: And I love that for him.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Oh me too.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Yeah. So my takeaway was that I thought I detected
- 3:08Speaker 1: a little bit of fire from Suki this time, like
- 3:13Speaker 1: she well, not a lot, like a candle. Yeah, and
- 3:16Speaker 1: it deserves more like somebody, God, what my kingdom for
- 3:19Speaker 1: somebody who would push back against Cody Brown, who once
- 3:23Speaker 1: again showed his ass. I was almost aggressive with Suki, yeah,
- 3:27Speaker 1: and definitely, and how he spoke with her, But I
- 3:29Speaker 1: could see in Suki like a little bit more pushback
- 3:33Speaker 1: and maybe she was a bit disapproving of some of
- 3:37Speaker 1: his answers and she was trying to challenge him a
- 3:39Speaker 1: bit more, which caused him to get even more crazy. Yeah,
- 3:43Speaker 1: and I'm hoping that trend grows and persists throughout all
- 3:48Speaker 1: of the towels me too.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I just won't hold my breath for it. Yeah, I
- 3:51Speaker 2: could see a little bit of pushback, little things like
- 3:54Speaker 2: it seems like she's getting kind of fed up with
- 3:56Speaker 2: having to like manage him. Can you imagine, oh my god,
- 3:58Speaker 2: him just cutting her off constantly.
- 4:00Speaker 1: He's not even listening. No, have you ever met someone
- 4:04Speaker 1: who is sitting there and you can actually see them
- 4:07Speaker 1: thinking of what they want to say as you're still
- 4:10Speaker 1: talking and trying to relay some information to them. That
- 4:13Speaker 1: was absolutely what was happening with Cody and Suki. He's
- 4:17Speaker 1: just thinking about how he wants to go crazy and
- 4:19Speaker 1: what he wants to say.
- 4:20Speaker 2: It was so rude. I can't imagine being Suki. Like,
- 4:23Speaker 2: I know, we give her crap and we have in
- 4:25Speaker 2: the past and everything because she's very soft on Cody
- 4:28Speaker 2: and Robin. But like, I also can't imagine having to
- 4:31Speaker 2: interview and like manage people like Cody and Robin who
- 4:35Speaker 2: just never want to tell the truth, who always deflect.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Cody gets really aggressive, Like I just.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Can't Robin doesn't even want to watch the clips. Girl
- 4:45Speaker 1: hy TLC and the production company Puddle Monkey lets her
- 4:50Speaker 1: get away with that, Like what good are you if
- 4:53Speaker 1: you're not even going to watch the episodes, if you're
- 4:55Speaker 1: not going to watch the clips that you can intelligently
- 4:57Speaker 1: contribute to the conversation. Right, But because it's toxic and
- 5:02Speaker 1: it's disturbing, and because you don't want to see yourself
- 5:05Speaker 1: and the things that you have done played back to you,
- 5:08Speaker 1: you won't even look at the teleprompter.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Oh no, And I don't know how that's even allowed.
- 5:12Speaker 2: But whatever is going to cry her way through, its toxic.
- 5:17Speaker 2: It's because of you.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it is because of you. And she didn't really
- 5:20Speaker 1: seem sad to me. She seemed like she was ready
- 5:24Speaker 1: to fight. She seems very cold.
- 5:26Speaker 2: That jaws hard.
- 5:27Speaker 1: It's very hard.
- 5:28Speaker 2: It's a hard job. Yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 1: So those are my thoughts, those are your thoughts. Yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 1: let's get into the episode. So, season nineteen, episode twenty six,
- 5:38Speaker 1: the one on one Part one.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Yes, and apparently, per the family's request, we're not going
- 5:44Speaker 2: to discuss Garrison's passing at all, which I have mixed
- 5:48Speaker 2: feelings about because I'm like, Okay, I guess I understand
- 5:52Speaker 2: like not wanting to bring up a really sensitive, like
- 5:55Speaker 2: tragic subject and then have the family fight about like
- 6:00Speaker 2: and stuff like that. I guess they get it, But
- 6:01Speaker 2: at the same time, I wish we could talk about
- 6:05Speaker 2: it a little bit, especially with Cody and Robin.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But right I think I fall on the side of
- 6:12Speaker 1: appreciating that we're not talking about Garrison because it makes
- 6:15Speaker 1: it more difficult to somebody reviewing the show to go
- 6:19Speaker 1: in hard on some of these parents for the shit
- 6:22Speaker 1: that they're doing. Yeah, it's like when you have that
- 6:25Speaker 1: subject in that That's the reason we've been having so
- 6:27Speaker 1: many after shows, because we want to be able to
- 6:30Speaker 1: say what we feel right, but be respectful. Be respectful
- 6:33Speaker 1: because we're also dealing with the tragedy. So I appreciate
- 6:36Speaker 1: that because I'm going in and I don't care. Sure,
- 6:39Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 6:40Speaker 2: At least now we can go in, yeah and be
- 6:43Speaker 2: angry at these people because some of the things that
- 6:45Speaker 2: Cody and Robin were saying in this episode were ridiculous.
- 6:49Speaker 2: We start off with clips of Cody, well, actually, no,
- 6:53Speaker 2: we don't. We start off with asking what movie do
- 6:56Speaker 2: you envision your life if you could pick one movie
- 7:00Speaker 2: to represent your life.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Before we even do that, we are on the road
- 7:05Speaker 1: headed to so to God.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I blocked that out of my mind and.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I only mention it because for the most part, it's
- 7:11Speaker 1: a nothing burger. But I only mention it because we
- 7:14Speaker 1: have Cody and Robin in their brand new convertible Mercedes,
- 7:18Speaker 1: and then I was checking out all the vehicles in
- 7:20Speaker 1: the background that we know that Cody has purchased and
- 7:24Speaker 1: has financed. But then we have Cody talking about the
- 7:29Speaker 1: first reunion that they ever filmed and how there was
- 7:33Speaker 1: a makeup artist that did Robin's makeup and she looks
- 7:36Speaker 1: so beautiful, and then he does something like ooh uh
- 7:40Speaker 1: that like please don't, please do not.
- 7:46Speaker 2: That, Like I literally blocked that out of my mind
- 7:48Speaker 2: because it was so disgusting. Right again, I'm just like,
- 7:52Speaker 2: nobody cares about you and Robin's romance. Nobody cares that
- 7:55Speaker 2: you guys are sexually attracted to each other. I don't
- 7:58Speaker 2: even want to envision it. I don't understand how he
- 8:01Speaker 2: thinks something like that is even appropriate.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I feel like it's something they're trying to roll out
- 8:06Speaker 1: to us, Like we have them both on that poor horse,
- 8:10Speaker 1: which is like animal abuse. Yeah, and then we have
- 8:13Speaker 1: her going ooh, he's a rancher rarer. Like I feel
- 8:16Speaker 1: like they're trying to present themselves with like this great
- 8:21Speaker 1: sexual energy, and I'm just like, I don't need any
- 8:23Speaker 1: of that, not one part of that is for me,
- 8:27Speaker 1: miss me.
- 8:27Speaker 2: With that, I don't understand because if you are conscious
- 8:30Speaker 2: to the fact that everybody in the entire world hates you,
- 8:33Speaker 2: hates like literally hates you, there are people that are
- 8:36Speaker 2: way worse than us in terms of their opinions of
- 8:38Speaker 2: Cody and Robin and like want them dead. Like I'm
- 8:42Speaker 2: just like, why would you think that we as the
- 8:45Speaker 2: viewers care about your sexual romance and that you guys
- 8:50Speaker 2: find each other attractive.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I don't know, because neither one of you are attracted.
- 8:54Speaker 1: It's a mystery to me. But we can also see
- 8:57Speaker 1: that Robin is not looking forward to this reunion. She's
- 9:01Speaker 1: dreading it. Looks like she's been traumatized in the past
- 9:04Speaker 1: and she knows she's going to get retraumatized having to
- 9:07Speaker 1: sit down and take accountability for her demonic behavior. God forbid,
- 9:11Speaker 1: we wrestle against their principalities and the powers. Robin, but
- 9:16Speaker 1: she's not looking forward to it. But Janelle's like, oh, yeah,
- 9:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna have a good time. It's gonna be great.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Sukie's nice.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I just have to remember, like I shouldn't share too much,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you know, it's easy to forget because Suki's right, right,
- 9:27Speaker 1: which I'm just like, no, share more, please, I would
- 9:30Speaker 1: love that. And Mary says she's not worried about it
- 9:32Speaker 1: either because she's confident now because she's worthied up, she
- 9:36Speaker 1: knows herself, knows her answers, and she's just not gonna
- 9:39Speaker 1: have her walls up anymore. And also, when you don't lie,
- 9:42Speaker 1: you don't have to remember your story, which I was like, oh,
- 9:47Speaker 1: who are you calling out? I know who you're I
- 9:49Speaker 1: know I know who it's Robin and Cody.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yep. But Christine's not happy about the one on one.
- 9:54Speaker 2: She says she hates them. She hates being confronted with
- 9:57Speaker 2: the hard things, which I'm just like.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Okay, right, but you like the paycheck right exactly.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like, just answer the hard questions, jeez. But
- 10:06Speaker 2: then we get to the actual one on ones, and
- 10:08Speaker 2: this is where we have that dumb question from Suki.
- 10:11Speaker 2: If you could pick one movie describe your life, what
- 10:15Speaker 2: would it be?
- 10:15Speaker 1: And I'm just like, this is so dumb.
- 10:17Speaker 2: This is so dumb. Nobody cares not what movie except
- 10:21Speaker 2: Cody picked a movie that was about a bank robbery.
- 10:24Speaker 1: It was, but it was about bank robbers who were surfers.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yeah, stop it. No, I've never seen the movie, so
- 10:32Speaker 2: I just thought it was I.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Feel like that's why he chose it. And I think
- 10:36Speaker 1: in the end of point Break, Patrick swayzey, I think
- 10:41Speaker 1: they're in Australia and there's these huge waves coming in
- 10:44Speaker 1: and Keanu Reeves is the FED and he's like, Okay,
- 10:48Speaker 1: well you either come with me or you can go
- 10:50Speaker 1: get in the waves. And so Patrick Swayzy jumps into
- 10:52Speaker 1: these huge waves and presumably dies or gets the way.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But I'm just like, what, Cody, what are you talking about.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I think it's simply because he associates himself as a
- 11:03Speaker 1: as a surfer shut from Utah.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Well, and then he changes his mind and he says
- 11:07Speaker 2: Batman returns because and I wrote down the quote he said.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It was something like, if you don't die the hero,
- 11:15Speaker 2: you live long enough to become the villain. And then
- 11:18Speaker 2: Suki's like, so you're the villain. He's like, no, but
- 11:21Speaker 2: I've been villainized right, Like, oh my.
- 11:23Speaker 1: God, he was so close. He was, so because you
- 11:26Speaker 1: are the villain. Yeah, you've turned into the villain. You're
- 11:28Speaker 1: the villain of your entire family, and if we could
- 11:30Speaker 1: just start owning some of that, maybe we could get somewhere.
- 11:33Speaker 1: But no, very quickly he pivots and he's like, I'm
- 11:36Speaker 1: the victimized. Yeah, okay, Cody bullyas never change.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Never change at all. And then we get into clips
- 11:46Speaker 2: of Cody saying that he did love the wives, but
- 11:50Speaker 2: he never loved the wives and how he's gone back
- 11:52Speaker 2: and forth with this over the couple seasons, and then
- 11:55Speaker 2: Suki asks everybody questions about it, and Cody's like, well,
- 11:59Speaker 2: I'm just good because I was going through a brig
- 12:01Speaker 2: up phase where I said that I didn't love them,
- 12:04Speaker 2: but like, maybe I did, I guess. And Robin says
- 12:08Speaker 2: that he was rewriting history with this, which is kind
- 12:10Speaker 2: of interesting hm hmm. But she also says something gross
- 12:14Speaker 2: like it was an aphrodisiac for your to be in
- 12:17Speaker 2: love with the other women, And.
- 12:19Speaker 1: She said this before she said that she was most
- 12:22Speaker 1: attracted to Cody because he was a family man and
- 12:26Speaker 1: because he allegedly loved his wives, and so hearing him
- 12:30Speaker 1: say in later seasons that he never loved these wives
- 12:33Speaker 1: was very troubling to her. Because that's kind of the
- 12:36Speaker 1: foundation of their attraction. But I don't believe that.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I don't believe in all.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I don't think that's why you fell in love with
- 12:41Speaker 1: Cody Brown. I think it was because they were going
- 12:43Speaker 1: to be creating a show about polygamous and you heard
- 12:46Speaker 1: about it, and so you orchestrated a meeting with Cody.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I think you were having some kind of an affair
- 12:51Speaker 1: with Cody before you ever met Janelle, ever met Christina,
- 12:54Speaker 1: and maybe even ever met Mary. That's just a hunch
- 12:57Speaker 1: that I have. Yeah, this is some grand machination that
- 13:01Speaker 1: you have conducted this entire time.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I could see it, honestly with how she's acted. But
- 13:06Speaker 2: it's just interesting to me that she is willing to
- 13:11Speaker 2: call Cody out on that and say that it was
- 13:14Speaker 2: him rewriting history, because a lot of the time she
- 13:17Speaker 2: defends him or she'll say the same lies as him.
- 13:20Speaker 2: She does in this episode a little bit later. But
- 13:23Speaker 2: like I just it was just interesting to me that
- 13:25Speaker 2: she calls him out for that.
- 13:26Speaker 1: But well, what would it say about her if she
- 13:30Speaker 1: married into a polygamous family where the husband didn't love
- 13:34Speaker 1: the wives that's the thing, Yeah, and didn't take care
- 13:36Speaker 1: of the children.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Point.
- 13:37Speaker 1: That would be a reflection on her, wouldn't it good? Point?
- 13:39Speaker 2: So she's all about yep, her image not necessarily just Cody's.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Its hers interesting. And then we have Cody saying some
- 13:48Speaker 2: bullshit about how it's difficult in polygamy to love everybody
- 13:52Speaker 2: equally and that he tried really hard to nurture all
- 13:56Speaker 2: of his other relationships, which is a total fing lie.
- 13:59Speaker 2: He also tried really hard to elevate the OG three
- 14:04Speaker 2: relationships up to the level that Robin and his relationship
- 14:08Speaker 2: were at, but he failed. Well, he didn't fail. They failed.
- 14:12Speaker 1: They failed.
- 14:12Speaker 2: They failed to rise too.
- 14:14Speaker 1: But isn't that a tacit acknowledgment that there were different levels, yes,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and that it was unequal, yes, and that Robin was
- 14:22Speaker 1: on a higher level, like something that you have denied
- 14:25Speaker 1: season after season after season. I mean even last season
- 14:28Speaker 1: you were denying that you treated anybody differently. So now
- 14:31Speaker 1: we're getting some sort of a sideways acknowledgement that indeed
- 14:35Speaker 1: their relationship was what did he call it, a higher love,
- 14:38Speaker 1: a higher divine a higher divine love. Yeah, and that
- 14:42Speaker 1: he was struck with this divine love like from the
- 14:45Speaker 1: very beginning. So Christine is right, yeah. When she talks
- 14:49Speaker 1: about how as soon as Robin entered the family things changed, yep,
- 14:55Speaker 1: and as soon as Mary legally divorced Cody, like the
- 15:00Speaker 1: instruction of the family happened.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yes, And that's what's so interesting about Cody is that,
- 15:04Speaker 2: like you could admit all of these things, like you're
- 15:07Speaker 2: basically saying Robin was your favorite, you were more in
- 15:09Speaker 2: love with her than any of the other wives, and
- 15:11Speaker 2: all of these things, but then you're very quick to
- 15:14Speaker 2: say no, no, no, but like I did really good
- 15:17Speaker 2: in my other relationships. I nurtured everything. It was just
- 15:19Speaker 2: their fault. Like that's the level of delusion that Cody
- 15:22Speaker 2: Brown is at. I mean, just look at his hair.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Like you're right, see it's in another dementia.
- 15:26Speaker 2: He it really is. And then he also talks about
- 15:29Speaker 2: like the things that Robin was good at that the
- 15:31Speaker 2: other wives were not good at, Like she was good
- 15:33Speaker 2: at communication and loving him, and Sukie says she was
- 15:38Speaker 2: good at negotiating with him. And then also Robin had
- 15:42Speaker 2: a healthy amount of self respect, And this gets us
- 15:44Speaker 2: into a conversation of like did Cody actually respect the
- 15:48Speaker 2: og three wives. Christine says she feels like Cody respected
- 15:53Speaker 2: her like a little bit and.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Some well, she starts by saying, I don't think he
- 15:56Speaker 1: ever felt he needed to, yeah, but then she said,
- 16:00Speaker 1: but maybe he respected that I was a mom or
- 16:03Speaker 1: that I was a wife. But she also said that
- 16:06Speaker 1: she doesn't think she had self respect, like she wasn't
- 16:09Speaker 1: respecting herself, and then she goes into talking about how
- 16:13Speaker 1: she was actually fixated on Cody and Cody's impact on
- 16:17Speaker 1: their family in their home because whenever Cody came home,
- 16:21Speaker 1: everybody had to adjust and accommodate around what Cody wanted
- 16:24Speaker 1: to eat and what Cody wanted to do, and so
- 16:27Speaker 1: everybody had to change it up. And she's like, that's
- 16:30Speaker 1: not fair, Like you should come home and integrate yourself
- 16:33Speaker 1: into the existing family, not have everybody move around to
- 16:37Speaker 1: accommodate you. So the focus is always on Cody, Yes,
- 16:40Speaker 1: in that way, So she acknowledged that, and it seems
- 16:42Speaker 1: to be true.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Oh for sure. And she also says that she was
- 16:45Speaker 2: disgusted with herself for centering her entire life around like
- 16:49Speaker 2: what Cody needed, what Cody wanted, and how Cody felt
- 16:52Speaker 2: about things. And that's why part of the reason why
- 16:55Speaker 2: she doesn't like doing these one on ones and these
- 16:58Speaker 2: tell nothings because she has to live that part of
- 17:01Speaker 2: her life where she was not respecting herself enough to
- 17:05Speaker 2: care about her own feelings and everything else.
- 17:07Speaker 1: But I just want to say, like, this is the stuff, though,
- 17:10Speaker 1: that you really need to say out loud publicly. She
- 17:13Speaker 1: need to acknowledge that you centered this toxic person, that
- 17:16Speaker 1: you gave essential parts of yourself away, and also that
- 17:20Speaker 1: your kids went without so that you could platform this person.
- 17:24Speaker 1: And that's a mistake I think that a lot of
- 17:26Speaker 1: women make with men in their lives, especially when we're younger,
- 17:29Speaker 1: and a lot of men make the same mistake with women.
- 17:31Speaker 1: And so acknowledging that so that anybody who watches can
- 17:34Speaker 1: go back and see that, I think is really helpful.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Oh for sure. And then I think Janelle said that
- 17:39Speaker 2: she had a lot of self respect, so she's like,
- 17:42Speaker 2: what was our relationship then, Like I was respecting myself,
- 17:45Speaker 2: I was good at communicating, and Mary talks about how
- 17:47Speaker 2: she didn't have any self respect, especially the last I
- 17:51Speaker 2: don't know did she say it was the last time
- 17:53Speaker 2: ten or fourteen years something like that, something longer, which
- 17:56Speaker 2: I'm just like, that's good for Mary to finally acknowledge
- 17:59Speaker 2: a little bit. I wish she would kind of dive
- 18:00Speaker 2: more into it of like I didn't have enough self
- 18:03Speaker 2: respect because I kept chasing a man that didn't want
- 18:05Speaker 2: to be with me any longer. But she's getting there,
- 18:08Speaker 2: so I won't be too critical. And then we get
- 18:12Speaker 2: a question I think from Suki asking Cody, like if
- 18:14Speaker 2: he respected the OG three, and he says he respected
- 18:18Speaker 2: Mary more than Janelle, but then he respected Janelle and
- 18:23Speaker 2: Mary more than Christine, which basically just means he didn't
- 18:27Speaker 2: respect Christine at all.
- 18:29Speaker 1: There was levels of respect for the wives, I guess,
- 18:31Speaker 1: but it's like one of those comments that you don't
- 18:33Speaker 1: need to say.
- 18:34Speaker 2: No, not all.
- 18:34Speaker 1: You don't need to say all that. You could just
- 18:36Speaker 1: say yes, I did respect them, right, and I think
- 18:39Speaker 1: they respected me and or sometimes you know, the respect
- 18:42Speaker 1: wasn't there. That's something that definitely we should have worked on.
- 18:45Speaker 1: But he can't help himself but to vomit out this
- 18:48Speaker 1: toxicity towards these women, and that's.
- 18:50Speaker 2: What's so crazy. And he like even makes a comment
- 18:53Speaker 2: the beginning of this saying like it's hard to be
- 18:55Speaker 2: accountable for things that you say in a passionate moment.
- 18:58Speaker 2: But I'm like, every moment with you is a passionate,
- 19:01Speaker 2: angry moment. So when can you ever really be accountable
- 19:05Speaker 2: for anything? Apparently never?
- 19:07Speaker 1: And when did he say it's easy to pick on
- 19:09Speaker 1: someone who doesn't have a filter, Yeah, something, Well, then
- 19:12Speaker 1: learn to have a filter. Fifty I don't know, go
- 19:17Speaker 1: to therapy for re, read a book about how to
- 19:19Speaker 1: emotionally regulate instead of just spew out all this vitriol
- 19:23Speaker 1: on your wives and your children and damage all of
- 19:25Speaker 1: these people's lives. I mean, I don't know, be proactive
- 19:28Speaker 1: with your mental health.
- 19:29Speaker 2: God no, because it's everybody else's fault except his. That's
- 19:33Speaker 2: Cody Brown for you. And then when Cody was talking
- 19:37Speaker 2: about wanting to elevate all of his other relationships to
- 19:40Speaker 2: the level where him and Robin's were at, Robin echoes
- 19:44Speaker 2: this and says this is what he communicated to her,
- 19:47Speaker 2: and then the other OG three wives are like, we
- 19:50Speaker 2: were never told that, and that's bullshit. Like I think
- 19:52Speaker 2: Janelle's like, that would have been nice to know. Mary says,
- 19:56Speaker 2: that's completely unfair and gross that you would think that
- 19:59Speaker 2: we need to be like Robin, because we're not going
- 20:01Speaker 2: to be like Robin, and Christine says it was a
- 20:04Speaker 2: flat out lie. So it's totally Cody just making up
- 20:07Speaker 2: some stupid excuse for how he treated the OG three
- 20:11Speaker 2: wives over the last fifteen years or whatever because he
- 20:15Speaker 2: thinks it makes him look good. Oh, I tried really hard.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I tried to love these unlovable women, is basically what
- 20:22Speaker 1: he's trying to tell us.
- 20:23Speaker 2: He thinks that makes him look good, which is just
- 20:25Speaker 2: absolutely insane. And then we have Suki pulling up another
- 20:29Speaker 2: clip about the spiritual release that Mary got, Yeah, and
- 20:33Speaker 2: it's kind of opened up a conversation about the spiritual
- 20:36Speaker 2: release and the legal divorce that she did hmm several
- 20:40Speaker 2: years ago, so that way Cody could adopt Robin's kids,
- 20:43Speaker 2: which I thought was kind of interesting.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Very interesting. So there's two issues within that that I
- 20:48Speaker 1: want to definitely get into. The first issue is around
- 20:51Speaker 1: the terminology of abandonment and how her release was granted
- 20:57Speaker 1: on the basis of that, and how that is just
- 20:59Speaker 1: a point that sticks in his craw and he can't
- 21:02Speaker 1: seem to accept and or acknowledge, and neither can Robin
- 21:05Speaker 1: that maybe there was some abandonment there. And the second
- 21:09Speaker 1: was around the catfish because it's like the thing that
- 21:11Speaker 1: they don't want to talk about right even now, and
- 21:16Speaker 1: Cody's talking about it without actually saying what it is,
- 21:19Speaker 1: and for anybody who's watched the show, we know what
- 21:21Speaker 1: he's talking about, and then Mary is still not able
- 21:25Speaker 1: to actually talk about it at all. I'm wondering if,
- 21:28Speaker 1: because we're talking about it a little bit now, whether
- 21:31Speaker 1: as we go on with the tell Nothings, she'll start
- 21:33Speaker 1: to open up about it. But it's still such a
- 21:37Speaker 1: point of secretiveness for her. She does not want to
- 21:41Speaker 1: acknowledge the fact that she was cheating. It didn't work
- 21:46Speaker 1: out in her favor because the man she was talking
- 21:48Speaker 1: to was a woman and this woman was taking advantage
- 21:51Speaker 1: of her, But it doesn't change the fact that she
- 21:54Speaker 1: was cheating. Yeah, and that is what Cody. That's how
- 21:57Speaker 1: Cody marks the end of their relations. So those two
- 22:00Speaker 1: things I thought were fascinating, very interesting and got me activated.
- 22:05Speaker 1: So the word, do you want to start with the abandonment.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Or with the We'll just go into the abandonment because
- 22:09Speaker 2: that was kind of what they started with and it
- 22:11Speaker 2: was kind of I don't know, it was frustrating because
- 22:15Speaker 2: I feel like we've talked about it a lot before.
- 22:17Speaker 2: But Mary is confused as to why Cody even cares
- 22:22Speaker 2: about what the church said, because Cody was saying to
- 22:25Speaker 2: her that he didn't leave her because of their religion,
- 22:28Speaker 2: but then he doesn't even subscribe to the religion anymore,
- 22:31Speaker 2: so like, why.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Do you even care?
- 22:33Speaker 2: Right?
- 22:33Speaker 1: No, he was saying that he didn't leave her because
- 22:36Speaker 1: of the religion, right, Oh is that what she said?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Oh?
- 22:38Speaker 1: Maybe I heard you. Yeah, he didn't leave her because
- 22:41Speaker 1: of the religion. But at the same time or out
- 22:43Speaker 1: of the other side of his mouth, he's like, yeah,
- 22:45Speaker 1: but I don't care about the religion is a part
- 22:47Speaker 1: of it? Yeah? And is this where he's also talking
- 22:49Speaker 1: about being afraid to tell Mary that it was over
- 22:54Speaker 1: because he didn't know what her reaction was going.
- 22:56Speaker 2: She was going to do? Yeah? And Mary's offended by
- 22:59Speaker 2: this because she like, what do you think I was
- 23:01Speaker 2: gonna do? Like this is crazy? And even Janelle echoes that.
- 23:04Speaker 2: She's like, are you trying to paint Mary as like
- 23:06Speaker 2: some psycho that is going to kill you or something
- 23:09Speaker 2: because you're leaving her? But Christine, yes, maybe it's a
- 23:13Speaker 2: comment about how everybody felt like they had to walk
- 23:16Speaker 2: around on eggshells around Mary because they didn't know if
- 23:19Speaker 2: she was going to be good one day or bad
- 23:22Speaker 2: the next. So I'm like, Okay, where's the truth here?
- 23:25Speaker 1: Well, I think that Christine is telling the truth, but
- 23:30Speaker 1: that that's not specific to the subject that they were discussing. Yes,
- 23:34Speaker 1: throughout the course of all of their relationships, Mary was
- 23:37Speaker 1: hard to deal with, and we've talked about that, But
- 23:40Speaker 1: as it concerns the breakup of her marriage with Cody
- 23:43Speaker 1: and Cody being allegedly afraid, what she's talking about doesn't
- 23:47Speaker 1: make any sense. And I just personally, and I don't
- 23:49Speaker 1: know how you feel about it or anybody else, I
- 23:51Speaker 1: felt like it wasn't her place to say that, or
- 23:54Speaker 1: to try and attribute like history of their relationships back
- 23:58Speaker 1: from the eighties and nineties in the eye, like try
- 24:00Speaker 1: to pin that on Mary during the breakup of her
- 24:03Speaker 1: and Cody's marriage. I agree that felt a little mean,
- 24:06Speaker 1: and it seemed like Christine started to walk it back
- 24:09Speaker 1: a little bit. Well, but she's made so many changes,
- 24:12Speaker 1: she's person I know she's really trying hard. That comes
- 24:15Speaker 1: off a little bit condescending to me. What with the
- 24:18Speaker 1: changes you're making, Christine, What about all the mistakes that
- 24:20Speaker 1: you've made.
- 24:21Speaker 2: No, for real, I thought that was kind of a
- 24:23Speaker 2: mean comment to make, because she does say like, oh, well,
- 24:26Speaker 2: Mary is a different person now, she's grown a lot.
- 24:28Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, then why are you saying that? Yeah?
- 24:30Speaker 2: Because if that was Mary when she was nineteen twenty
- 24:34Speaker 2: something or whatever, when she was her frontal lobe wasn't
- 24:37Speaker 2: fully developed and she was emotionally unregulated. I don't think
- 24:40Speaker 2: that's fair to compare that version of Mary to forty
- 24:44Speaker 2: something year old version of Mary or.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Fifty year old mar fifty Cody, you weren't even around
- 24:49Speaker 1: for that. I mean, you were around obviously in Flagstaff
- 24:52Speaker 1: for a period of time, and you were around in Vegas,
- 24:54Speaker 1: and so I'm sure you were privy to what was
- 24:56Speaker 1: happening in their relationship, but you weren't around for their
- 25:00Speaker 1: final conversations. You weren't around for when Cody would have
- 25:03Speaker 1: been afraid yeah, because he told her yeah and they
- 25:05Speaker 1: broke up, So like, why are you speaking on it now?
- 25:08Speaker 1: That did not seem fair to me.
- 25:09Speaker 2: No, it didn't at all. And I liked Janelle's point
- 25:11Speaker 2: of view on it because she was just like Cody,
- 25:13Speaker 2: just be an adult like you can just talk to
- 25:15Speaker 2: her like a person. And I think even Mary says
- 25:18Speaker 2: something to you to the effect of, like, it's okay,
- 25:20Speaker 2: if he changed his mind and like fell out of
- 25:23Speaker 2: love with me or whatever, I wish he would have
- 25:24Speaker 2: just said that, like, then maybe we could have broken
- 25:27Speaker 2: things off. I could have married my banana person and
- 25:30Speaker 2: it would have been fine, you know what I mean,
- 25:32Speaker 2: really it would have been great. And so I thought
- 25:35Speaker 2: that was interesting that Janelle was kind of backing up
- 25:37Speaker 2: Mary in that regard about then Christine was being kind
- 25:40Speaker 2: of mean girl energy about it. And then we get
- 25:42Speaker 2: into the legal divorce and like whether or not Cody
- 25:47Speaker 2: and Robin had like an ulterior motive with that, Like
- 25:50Speaker 2: Sukie actually asks that question, which was kind of interesting.
- 25:53Speaker 2: But Cody starts off this conversation with like, well, after
- 25:56Speaker 2: the legal divorce, nothing changed. Everything was fine until something.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Happened that I don't want to talk about, which is
- 26:04Speaker 1: the catfish. We all know what it is, yes, which
- 26:06Speaker 1: it's just like, why are we talking about it?
- 26:08Speaker 2: Why is it?
- 26:09Speaker 1: Like, well, because he doesn't want to acknowledge that he
- 26:12Speaker 1: really did want that legal divorce from Mary and that
- 26:15Speaker 1: he really did want to be married to Robin. He
- 26:18Speaker 1: didn't want to acknowledge the fact that maybe Robin had
- 26:22Speaker 1: started setting things in motions by perhaps mentioning to the
- 26:26Speaker 1: wives and the kids from time to time that it's
- 26:28Speaker 1: perfectly common in polygamist families to divorce one wife and
- 26:31Speaker 1: Mary another to adopt their kids. He doesn't want to
- 26:34Speaker 1: acknowledge any of that because he's constantly in a defensive
- 26:37Speaker 1: posture about Robin, and so it's easier for him. It's
- 26:41Speaker 1: much more convenient for Cody to mark the beginning of
- 26:45Speaker 1: the end as the catfish, which happened after the legal
- 26:49Speaker 1: divorce by about what a year or something like fish
- 26:52Speaker 1: something like.
- 26:52Speaker 2: That, Yeah, because he stopped hanging out with Mary at
- 26:55Speaker 2: that point in time and probably cut off intimacy after
- 26:58Speaker 2: the legal divorce, and then that was when Mary started
- 27:00Speaker 2: to become or feel neglected and then search elsewhere for
- 27:05Speaker 2: love and affection because Cody wasn't given her nun And
- 27:08Speaker 2: I mean, like, look, I understand that the catfish would
- 27:11Speaker 2: be like a marker of an end to or like
- 27:15Speaker 2: the beginning of the end of their relationship, because I mean,
- 27:17Speaker 2: once you start cheating or like looking elsewhere, it's like, yeah,
- 27:21Speaker 2: maybe your marriage is kind of doomed at that point.
- 27:23Speaker 2: You know, I get it, But at the same time,
- 27:26Speaker 2: Cody is totally shifting blame away from himself. But it
- 27:32Speaker 2: was interesting when we got into the legal divorce discussion
- 27:37Speaker 2: because Christine says something like Robin was the one planting
- 27:41Speaker 2: seeds in the family and saying, oh, this is very
- 27:45Speaker 2: common in polygamist families, and blah blah blah. Of course,
- 27:48Speaker 2: Mary's like, oh, I don't recall that, and Robin's like, oh,
- 27:50Speaker 2: I don't recall that. But Robin makes a comment about
- 27:54Speaker 2: how we knew that this was a thing that happened
- 27:57Speaker 2: in polygamists families because Cody's dad did it mm hm,
- 28:00Speaker 2: which means that he divorced Cody's mom to marry Janelle's mom.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Or the other wife. It could be the other wife
- 28:07Speaker 1: or the third named Bobby. I forget what her name is. Yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 1: I don't know if when when married Janelle's mom Cheryl. Yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 1: I mean Janelle was a full grown woman, so I'm
- 28:19Speaker 1: not sure that he adopted any of her kids, but
- 28:21Speaker 1: maybe there were some littles that he did adopt. I
- 28:23Speaker 1: don't know the history or the lare there, but he
- 28:25Speaker 1: did have another wife and it could have been that wife, yeah,
- 28:27Speaker 1: that Robin is referring to, but like she's like, I
- 28:30Speaker 1: never talked about that. But then she's like, but I
- 28:34Speaker 1: do know that it happened, and Suki says, well, Christine's
- 28:37Speaker 1: the one who said she heard it, and then Robin
- 28:40Speaker 1: pulls a funky face and she's like, okay, mm hmmm,
- 28:43Speaker 1: because she hates she hates Christine, and Christine is staying
- 28:46Speaker 1: on her back, staying on that.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I kind of love it, honestly, like, bring more of
- 28:50Speaker 2: that Caddy energy. Let's fight yep, Let's fine, yep. And
- 28:54Speaker 2: then what else do we talk about with the legal divorce? Oh,
- 28:58Speaker 2: Robin said that Mary only got a release because of
- 29:02Speaker 2: what she said.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Right, because she was asked directly, did Cody abandon Mary?
- 29:08Speaker 1: And Robin takes the moment, how am I going to
- 29:11Speaker 1: answer this so that it will seem the best for
- 29:13Speaker 1: me and I can get out of this unscathed, and
- 29:16Speaker 1: she does basically say that, you know, Mary's the one
- 29:19Speaker 1: that went got the release. Mary's the one that's going
- 29:21Speaker 1: to tell the story according to her perspective, and so
- 29:24Speaker 1: she got the release that she asked for based on
- 29:27Speaker 1: the grounds that she asked for whereas Mary's like, that's
- 29:30Speaker 1: not what I did. Yeah, I went. I told him
- 29:33Speaker 1: what had happened and how the relationship was, and they
- 29:36Speaker 1: were the ones that designated that the grounds would be abandonment.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Cody can't believe that, No, and Robin doesn't believe it either. Well,
- 29:46Speaker 1: I think Robin does believe it, but she won't acknowledge
- 29:48Speaker 1: it because Robin, you know full well that when COVID
- 29:51Speaker 1: happened and Mary was in Flagstaff, that she was alone
- 29:54Speaker 1: all the time. You know that Cody did not visit her,
- 29:58Speaker 1: didn't want to visit her, and or did you visit
- 30:00Speaker 1: her or your kids who Mary bought that or rented
- 30:04Speaker 1: that place because it had the jungle gym and all
- 30:06Speaker 1: the things in the back, and your kids were supposed
- 30:08Speaker 1: to come over all the time and play at Mary's house,
- 30:10Speaker 1: but you never went there. You know that woman is neglected, yep.
- 30:15Speaker 1: So it's really foul for you not to acknowledge that
- 30:19Speaker 1: at least Mary could have felt that way.
- 30:21Speaker 2: But no, no, she can't at all. And then she
- 30:24Speaker 2: even defends Cody by saying that he was actually a
- 30:27Speaker 2: very present husband for you. I'm like, for you your kids. Yeah,
- 30:31Speaker 2: what about his kids.
- 30:33Speaker 1: He didn't talk to any of Janelle's kids during COVID
- 30:36Speaker 1: for what did the boys say, like seven or eight months? Yeah,
- 30:39Speaker 1: at least they didn't see him. And then after you
- 30:41Speaker 1: have that big fight with Janelle over Christmas and she
- 30:43Speaker 1: kicked you out of her dormitory apartment, you didn't even
- 30:46Speaker 1: call Savannah for a month. What did Havana do, little
- 30:49Speaker 1: angel Savannah? You don't care about those kids. So Robin, yeah,
- 30:52Speaker 1: he's real present for you and your family, and you
- 30:56Speaker 1: know this, I know that's what makes her evil.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's like we have tried in our own
- 31:02Speaker 2: way to like look at Robin like, well, maybe she
- 31:05Speaker 2: was kind of innocent in some parts, maybe not, but
- 31:08Speaker 2: after this one on one, I'm like, no, confirmed, you
- 31:11Speaker 2: are so evil. You will never change and you will
- 31:14Speaker 2: always defend Cody and you will always play the victim
- 31:18Speaker 2: because you can't ever be wrong, and like, you can't
- 31:21Speaker 2: deal with the heat of being the favorite wife and
- 31:24Speaker 2: the wife that took Cody away from his entire family
- 31:28Speaker 2: of seventeen freaking kids.
- 31:29Speaker 1: What would it cost you, like honestly to just say
- 31:32Speaker 1: you know what, Yeah, I think from time to time
- 31:34Speaker 1: the schedule was unequal or there were times one wife,
- 31:38Speaker 1: you know, saw Cody more than others, and yeah it
- 31:41Speaker 1: was often me, but that's because he had his stuff.
- 31:44Speaker 1: You're like, what would it cost you to just admit
- 31:47Speaker 1: to some of these things? Right? But you don't admit
- 31:49Speaker 1: to any of these things, not even that Mary was neglected,
- 31:53Speaker 1: which she was.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna say that he was a present husband
- 31:56Speaker 2: because you're running defense for him, which we all know
- 31:59Speaker 2: is a freaking lie. But like whatever, and then.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I can we go? Can we go back a little
- 32:04Speaker 1: bit to the legal divorce. The night of the legal divorce,
- 32:09Speaker 1: Cody had said, inappropriately and crudely, according to Mary, that
- 32:12Speaker 1: they had you know, he gave her a ring or
- 32:14Speaker 1: a watch or a necklace and then they had sex,
- 32:17Speaker 1: which Mary's like, that's not appropriate. I don't know why
- 32:21Speaker 1: he's talking about that. We had an agreement we wouldn't
- 32:23Speaker 1: talk about bedroom stuff, but he was saying it to
- 32:27Speaker 1: illustrate that. No, everything was great. I was really happy
- 32:30Speaker 1: with her and nothing changed. Yeah after that, nothing changed,
- 32:34Speaker 1: Like he made a point to say that. Yeah, and
- 32:36Speaker 1: he's like, until Mary started getting involved in something that
- 32:40Speaker 1: I won't talk about and she kicked me out of
- 32:43Speaker 1: the house, and so the way that he's kind of
- 32:46Speaker 1: setting it up, and I just want to admit that
- 32:48Speaker 1: I haven't watched all of those episodes, so I'm not
- 32:51Speaker 1: sure what actually happens during the Catfish. But the way
- 32:55Speaker 1: he's setting it up is like he's over at Mary's
- 32:58Speaker 1: house one night and she's like, I want you to leave,
- 33:01Speaker 1: and he can hear her somewhere in the house talking
- 33:05Speaker 1: to somebody and giggling on the phone. Yeah, the way
- 33:08Speaker 1: he laid it out in this conversation was he was
- 33:10Speaker 1: already feeling betrayed, and I'm like, why were you feeling betrayed?
- 33:14Speaker 1: So did you know about the catfish? Because there is
- 33:18Speaker 1: the theory and the rumor that Robin and her friend
- 33:22Speaker 1: Grenya knew that Mary was talking to this woman who
- 33:27Speaker 1: was pretending to be a man, and that Cody had
- 33:29Speaker 1: that information. So were you lying in bed in Mary's
- 33:34Speaker 1: house pretending you didn't know about the catfish, feeling betrayed
- 33:38Speaker 1: and listening to her giggle? Like what did you think
- 33:41Speaker 1: of that?
- 33:41Speaker 2: I think that was all a lie to pain himself
- 33:44Speaker 2: as this victim. That was this husband that was very
- 33:47Speaker 2: present and cared about Mary so much and loved her
- 33:50Speaker 2: so much, and then he was shocked and chagrined that
- 33:53Speaker 2: she was cheating on him with somebody that he found out,
- 33:56Speaker 2: and then he got kicked out of the house. I
- 33:58Speaker 2: was actually reading about this on Reddit because I haven't
- 34:00Speaker 2: seen all of the episodes either, but I kind of
- 34:02Speaker 2: remember when all this stuff happened. Mary didn't kick him out.
- 34:05Speaker 2: She just said she needed space, and so he took
- 34:09Speaker 2: it as he's getting kicked out because it's Cody Brown.
- 34:12Speaker 1: After all. When he wants to be kicked out, he
- 34:14Speaker 1: doesn't want to be with Mary. A little thing is
- 34:16Speaker 1: going to be that catalyst.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think he's just spinning the whole catfish
- 34:21Speaker 2: situation to work in his favor. That Mary betrayed him,
- 34:24Speaker 2: which I mean it is a little bit of a betrayal.
- 34:27Speaker 1: But if after the divorce, you stopped paying attention to her,
- 34:32Speaker 1: like maybe you guys banged that night and you gave
- 34:34Speaker 1: her a necklace or whatever, but then did you just
- 34:36Speaker 1: ghost her? Were yeah gone? Did you still visit her?
- 34:39Speaker 1: Did you still prioritize the relationship?
- 34:41Speaker 2: Right?
- 34:41Speaker 1: It sounds like you didn't. And so over time she
- 34:45Speaker 1: got caught up with the catfish because she was neglected
- 34:48Speaker 1: because you abandoned her exactly.
- 34:51Speaker 2: So it's just one of those really messy things. And
- 34:54Speaker 2: this is where I think Suki asks Janelle specifically if
- 34:58Speaker 2: she thought that Cody had like an old ulterior motive
- 35:01Speaker 2: with the legal divorce and everything, and Janelle says she
- 35:04Speaker 2: doesn't think Cody was smart enough to like scheme his
- 35:08Speaker 2: way into convincing Mary to divorce him so that way
- 35:12Speaker 2: he can marry Robin. And I wonder if there's some
- 35:15Speaker 2: truth to that, because we've talked about like if Cody
- 35:17Speaker 2: was smart enough to come up with this plan.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Well, but she didn't say Robin wasn't smart enough. See that,
- 35:23Speaker 1: she didn't say Robin wasn't sophisticated enough. That was the
- 35:26Speaker 1: thing that was left unsaid. Yeah, that was something I inferred.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. Yeah, I just thought it was an
- 35:32Speaker 2: interesting comment on Janelle's part. And then the last clip
- 35:36Speaker 2: that we see is like a montage or clip of
- 35:41Speaker 2: Janelle and Cody at Josephinees Bistro and the Attic where
- 35:46Speaker 2: they were officially breaking up their relationship. And this is
- 35:49Speaker 2: where Janelle says in her talking head that Cody, by
- 35:52Speaker 2: Polygamus standards is a total complete thing failure.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I just love it, and I love that he had
- 35:58Speaker 1: to watch the clip and you could just see his face,
- 36:00Speaker 1: says he's watching it for probably the second time. Yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 1: called the failure, and he is a failure. And Janelle
- 36:07Speaker 1: goes on to say, objectively, in our faith, in our culture,
- 36:10Speaker 1: he is a failure of a husband. But he cannot
- 36:13Speaker 1: take responsibility, even within a structure or a religious framework
- 36:17Speaker 1: that he no longer subscribes to. He cannot take responsibility
- 36:20Speaker 1: and admit that he failed, not at all.
- 36:22Speaker 2: And she talks about his ego too, like he can't
- 36:24Speaker 2: deal with it because of his massive ego. And then
- 36:27Speaker 2: this is where Cody responds. He's like, well, she likes
- 36:30Speaker 2: to throw around words like ego and failure because it's
- 36:33Speaker 2: just buzzwords and everything, but like, it's not my failure.
- 36:36Speaker 2: It's actually a shared failure. It's everyone's failure in the family,
- 36:41Speaker 2: not me, because I can't be the one to take
- 36:43Speaker 2: any responsibility. And Robin echoes this as well, that they're
- 36:47Speaker 2: all failures.
- 36:49Speaker 1: It's not just Cody, right, Because Suki asks her directly,
- 36:52Speaker 1: do you think Cody is a failure and she kind
- 36:55Speaker 1: of laughs, yeah, Well the answer is yes. Of course,
- 36:58Speaker 1: and so she covers from and she's like, I think
- 37:00Speaker 1: we're all failures. Ever the diplomatic answer. I wish somebody
- 37:03Speaker 1: would have said, Okay, well how have you failed? I know, right,
- 37:06Speaker 1: Like what was the mistake that you made? Like where's
- 37:09Speaker 1: your ownership in any of this?
- 37:11Speaker 2: She probably would say some bullshit like I love too much?
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah, probably I'm too awesome.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I cared too much about the family.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Yeah. My weakness is that I'm so strong.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, like that exactly. And then this is where
- 37:26Speaker 2: we see like Robin, she can't even watch the clip.
- 37:29Speaker 2: We see her like Grimace and not even look at
- 37:32Speaker 2: the TV the entire time, and Sukie calls her out
- 37:34Speaker 2: on its, like why can't you just watch the clips though? Ho?
- 37:38Speaker 2: And Robin's like, it's just too disturbing, so toxic to
- 37:42Speaker 2: watch everybody talk crap about of each other. It makes
- 37:44Speaker 2: me so.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Sad watching people that you love talk crap about each other.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I'm like, well, no, they're also talking crap about you, though, Yeah,
- 37:54Speaker 1: And you have a distinct inability to watch them talk
- 37:57Speaker 1: about you and your part in this entire mess because
- 38:01Speaker 1: you don't want to have to admit it confront it,
- 38:04Speaker 1: deal with it, or talk about it, because you are
- 38:07Speaker 1: a coward, dude, you throw the stones and you hide
- 38:11Speaker 1: your hands, and then you blame everybody else.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Yep, you can't take the heat. No, And then we
- 38:16Speaker 2: kind of end the episode with Janelle saying she can't
- 38:20Speaker 2: decide if the way Cody's acting, like him being a villain,
- 38:25Speaker 2: is all like his own ego trip because he can't
- 38:28Speaker 2: deal with being a failure, or if he's running interference
- 38:32Speaker 2: for Robin and taking some of the blame off of her,
- 38:35Speaker 2: which I thought was kind of interesting. I don't know
- 38:37Speaker 2: if Cody would be willing to be the villain for
- 38:41Speaker 2: Robin's sake, but he does defend her a lot. And
- 38:45Speaker 2: he did say was it this season or last? I
- 38:48Speaker 2: forget because there's been so many fucking episodes about him
- 38:51Speaker 2: being the devil, He'll become the devil.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I think that was last season.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:56Speaker 1: I think that both of those things are true. I mean,
- 38:59Speaker 1: obviously Cody has a massive, malignant, out of control ego,
- 39:04Speaker 1: can't take responsibility, can't look at himself and see himself accurately.
- 39:08Speaker 1: This we all know. But I do think even if
- 39:10Speaker 1: it's unconscious and reactive, I do think that he becomes
- 39:16Speaker 1: more hyperbolic and bombastic in order to sort of take
- 39:20Speaker 1: the attention off of Robin. Because as dumb as Cody
- 39:24Speaker 1: is at he doubledick, he'd a dubad. He knows that
- 39:28Speaker 1: Robin has been the one he's got to know on
- 39:30Speaker 1: some level, and I think he's pretty conscious to the
- 39:32Speaker 1: fact that Robin has been the one that's been turning
- 39:35Speaker 1: the head. She's the neck turning the head. And I
- 39:39Speaker 1: was just thinking in my imagination as I was watching this,
- 39:43Speaker 1: I could just see them in bed at night talking
- 39:45Speaker 1: about things like the money. How are we going to
- 39:48Speaker 1: be able to get this home? How do we get
- 39:50Speaker 1: the women to give us the proceeds from the sale
- 39:52Speaker 1: of their homes. I could see them scheming, and I
- 39:55Speaker 1: think she's the one who is in more control, but
- 39:59Speaker 1: I think he's complicit. Yeah, so if that's true, I
- 40:03Speaker 1: can see him villainizing himself or becoming this ogre of
- 40:07Speaker 1: a person so people don't necessarily focus on Robin. But
- 40:11Speaker 1: he's not good at it. Yeah, He's just such a
- 40:14Speaker 1: cartoon character about it. And she's so cold and calculated
- 40:18Speaker 1: that it doesn't take somebody in mensa to recognize that
- 40:22Speaker 1: she's the one that's behind it all.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I could see that. I guess it's just like
- 40:26Speaker 2: he if he is consciously trying to be the villain
- 40:30Speaker 2: to take the heat off of Robin. He still hates
- 40:32Speaker 2: being the villain though, like he still can't take any
- 40:34Speaker 2: account of that ego. It is the ego, So yeah,
- 40:37Speaker 2: you're probably right, it is a bit of both. And
- 40:39Speaker 2: I just thought it was interesting that, like Janelle seems
- 40:42Speaker 2: to be the one to call him out on his bullshit,
- 40:45Speaker 2: like she's the one that hits him where it hurts
- 40:48Speaker 2: the most, because you know, he's just sitting there thinking
- 40:50Speaker 2: about it all day, that Janelle thinks that he's a failure,
- 40:53Speaker 2: and that Janelle's calling him out for his big ass ego,
- 40:55Speaker 2: Like you know, he's thinking about that more than anything else.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Because I think Janelle's one that yes, hm, yes, and
- 41:02Speaker 2: I love it.
- 41:03Speaker 1: I love it too. I thought there was not enough
- 41:06Speaker 1: Janelle in this episode. I thought that there was too
- 41:09Speaker 1: much Cody, yep. And I just feel like it's Janelle
- 41:14Speaker 1: that has got to be holding the most resentment towards
- 41:18Speaker 1: Cody as a result of everything that's happened, especially Garrison.
- 41:23Speaker 1: It's Janelle that would have the ability to tap into
- 41:27Speaker 1: this primal feminine rage that I think we all feel
- 41:30Speaker 1: when we watch this together, like or male rage, but
- 41:33Speaker 1: like this rage inside of her. And I'm like, say
- 41:35Speaker 1: more though, like talk about that. And I know we're
- 41:37Speaker 1: not talking about Garrison, and I can respect and understand that,
- 41:40Speaker 1: but there are so many other things peripheral to that
- 41:44Speaker 1: that you can say. And I wish you would say I.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Know, I wish they would all say it. I'm just like,
- 41:48Speaker 2: just let it out.
- 41:49Speaker 1: I mean, Janelle spending a lot of time laughing about it,
- 41:52Speaker 1: like I don't know why I didn't tell me. Hahuh No,
- 41:53Speaker 1: don't laugh.
- 41:54Speaker 2: No, why aren't you mad?
- 41:56Speaker 1: Why aren't you getting your brass knuckles out? Why aren't
- 41:58Speaker 1: we beating him down? I know, talk to me about that.
- 42:01Speaker 2: I need the Janelle from last season where she was
- 42:03Speaker 2: telling Cody to fuck off.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Yes, bring more of that. That's the energy we want
- 42:08Speaker 1: in twenty twenty five.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Yes, ma'am. And then we have the preview for the
- 42:11Speaker 2: next tell Alls to come, where we have Christine saying
- 42:14Speaker 2: that polygamous man that loses three wives, that has three
- 42:18Speaker 2: wives leave him is a total failure, Like this is
- 42:21Speaker 2: a problem with the man, not the women. Harriod, Harriet
- 42:24Speaker 2: point blank, Janelle saying that she thinks Cody has made
- 42:28Speaker 2: himself more of a villain to take off the heat
- 42:30Speaker 2: from Robin. And then Mary talking about how she was
- 42:33Speaker 2: shocked that Cody cried when she was moving, so we
- 42:37Speaker 2: want to talk more about that, okay. We have Christine
- 42:40Speaker 2: saying Cody picked favorites and he was the one that
- 42:43Speaker 2: ended the era and he should look in the fucking mirror.
- 42:46Speaker 1: M M.
- 42:47Speaker 2: We have Janelle saying Cody started telling everybody that she
- 42:51Speaker 2: was the one that controlled the money and that this
- 42:53Speaker 2: is just a tactic of Cody's that he hits all
- 42:57Speaker 2: of the wives where they hurt the most, their pain points.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Cody saying that apparently sex and money are now on
- 43:05Speaker 2: the tables. That's why he's going to talk about.
- 43:07Speaker 1: It because you put it on the table.
- 43:09Speaker 2: But he's saying that the other wives put it on
- 43:10Speaker 2: the table.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Okay, but it was you who put it on the
- 43:12Speaker 1: table exactly.
- 43:13Speaker 2: And then we talk about Robin putting on makeup and
- 43:16Speaker 2: camping again. Oh why, I'm just like, I don't care.
- 43:19Speaker 1: We get it.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Cody likes a pretty.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Woman, he tell nothings of that. We just need a
- 43:25Speaker 1: couple of tell nothings getting to the actual good stuff.
- 43:28Speaker 1: We don't need the regurgitation and the repeating of all
- 43:31Speaker 1: this stuff.
- 43:32Speaker 2: I know, I don't get it. And then we have
- 43:34Speaker 2: Janelle saying that if she had a one year long
- 43:37Speaker 2: courtship like Cody Robin did, then she probably wouldn't have
- 43:41Speaker 2: married Cody.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Oh, I loved that, which was great. Yeah, and that's it. Okay, Well,
- 43:48Speaker 1: this was kind of all over the place. I'm really
- 43:50Speaker 1: curious as to how they edit it, because you have
- 43:54Speaker 1: some of the wives and or Cody answering some of
- 43:57Speaker 1: the things that another person said, and I'm like, well,
- 44:00Speaker 1: who said what first? Did they actually hear the entire SoundBite?
- 44:03Speaker 1: It would be so much better and more cohesive if
- 44:06Speaker 1: we were all just in the same room, for God's sake,
- 44:10Speaker 1: But we're never going to get that. I was listening
- 44:12Speaker 1: to a short video by Nikki Haverstock and she was
- 44:16Speaker 1: saying that this tell nothing or these foretel nothings were
- 44:20Speaker 1: filmed I think October first or second of twenty twenty four,
- 44:25Speaker 1: just two weeks after the news of Christine's lawsuit came out.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Before they purchased the new McMansion and while the old
- 44:37Speaker 1: McMansion was still up for sale, and so she was
- 44:41Speaker 1: wondering if some of the agro energy were getting from
- 44:44Speaker 1: Cody and Robin is because they've just been sued. Bitch,
- 44:47Speaker 1: I could see it. And their house isn't selling and
- 44:51Speaker 1: where are they going to move to? And so maybe
- 44:53Speaker 1: that's why there's some feelings around that, which I thought
- 44:57Speaker 1: was a very salient and interesting point.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Very interesting.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but why are we filming a reunion in effect,
- 45:06Speaker 1: like eight months before the season ends? Like, why aren't
- 45:12Speaker 1: we filming the reunion after everybody on the cast has
- 45:15Speaker 1: had an opportunity to actually watch the episodes and see
- 45:18Speaker 1: what people are saying. But like, why are we doing
- 45:21Speaker 1: it this way? I just don't understand these decisions, TolC.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Why are we getting footage from two years ago in
- 45:27Speaker 2: a season of twenty five episodes and we have all
- 45:30Speaker 2: of these talking hits that are filmed at different periods
- 45:32Speaker 2: of time cobbled together to make it seem like it's
- 45:36Speaker 2: all cohesive, Like it's all of the editing in this
- 45:39Speaker 2: entire season. The last couple seasons has been atrocious.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's bad.
- 45:44Speaker 2: I'm so over it. I am probably gonna get a
- 45:46Speaker 2: season twenty.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Dude, No, we are getting a season twenty because there
- 45:49Speaker 1: has been footage of them filming.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Well, people talked about about how this was going to
- 45:54Speaker 2: be the end, and people are gonna they're gonna cancel
- 45:56Speaker 2: the show, blah blah.
- 45:57Speaker 1: I don't think so. I think it was also Nicki
- 45:59Speaker 1: Havrs who said she heard rumors that they're going to
- 46:02Speaker 1: be airing season twenty starting in fall this year, like
- 46:07Speaker 1: in a couple of months. Beatrice, Oh, yeah, we're gonna
- 46:10Speaker 1: have a bit of a break. Gone, and like two
- 46:12Speaker 1: or three months of a break and then we are
- 46:14Speaker 1: straight into season twenty, and I'm just like, well, what
- 46:16Speaker 1: are we talking about? Though? I know, like, I get it,
- 46:18Speaker 1: we've got Coyote pass. I get that that's not been
- 46:21Speaker 1: resolved as of a year ago, which is when season
- 46:24Speaker 1: twenty would cover. That would be the timeline they're covering,
- 46:27Speaker 1: But like, what else is there? Because Christina's already been married?
- 46:30Speaker 1: Goddamn yeah, Like we don't need to see another Valentine
- 46:33Speaker 1: or Christmas with Christina and David.
- 46:35Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 46:36Speaker 1: What's happened of any interest or import that we would
- 46:39Speaker 1: have to have a full season.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Beaty, I don't get it. I'm so tired of it,
- 46:45Speaker 2: but I'm still gonna watch it.
- 46:46Speaker 1: But maybe it would be a different type of Sister Wis.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Maybe there's not gonna be any Cody and Robin. Wouldn't
- 46:51Speaker 1: that be magical and wonderful.
- 46:53Speaker 2: From your lips to God's ears? But it's not gonna
- 46:55Speaker 2: happen because they are broke af and they need the
- 46:58Speaker 2: pay checks.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Oh my god, that reminds me. I checked out the
- 47:01Speaker 1: Sister Wives ratings. It's in my phone, but they have
- 47:05Speaker 1: dropped majorly. I talk about it in the after show, yeah,
- 47:09Speaker 1: because I'm always checking it to see like are people
- 47:11Speaker 1: still interested? When are and like what does the graph
- 47:14Speaker 1: say when did like interest fall off? And it was
- 47:17Speaker 1: interesting and I want to talk about it, so let's
- 47:19Speaker 1: save it for the after show. Yeah, And we have
- 47:20Speaker 1: a few things again to talk about in the after show.
- 47:22Speaker 1: We've got ratings, We've got a video that we want
- 47:24Speaker 1: to go over with you. We've got a speig pipe.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:27Speaker 1: So if you're one of them Patreon raccoons, you hang
- 47:30Speaker 1: on because more is coming. But is there anything else
- 47:33Speaker 1: that we need to say to all of these raccoons
- 47:36Speaker 1: beatus before we get a bought out of here.
