- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, remember when we were talking about our worst
- 0:04Speaker 1: fears and mine with snakes and yours was being a grandmother. Really,
- 0:09Speaker 1: I thought it was Lisa with a beard of bees.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Well whatever, brace yourself, President Lincoln.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You've come back and you got.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Rid of that hat.
- 0:20Speaker 2: You got my vote. Four finger discounted. Welcome to four
- 0:41Speaker 2: figure discount where this week we here to review an
- 0:43Speaker 2: episode that is a very divisive episode amongst the Simpsons community.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Many hate it, slut few don't mind it. If someone
- 0:51Speaker 2: loves it, No one loves it. That's the bands in
- 0:53Speaker 2: the base of Danda. God, yes, this is one of those.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Even it I had a girlfriend kind of like, no, no, no,
- 0:59Speaker 2: that's not a episode. This episode here we're discussing off air.
- 1:03Speaker 2: So guy, if you're a fan of the show, you
- 1:06Speaker 2: know it does not like Simpsons Afari, right, And I
- 1:10Speaker 2: thought it was gonna be fun episode. I loved when
- 1:11Speaker 2: you were antibad Simpsons Afari. I don't think I despised
- 1:14Speaker 2: it as much as you. This isn't an episode that
- 1:16Speaker 2: made me angry. This is an episode that just made
- 1:18Speaker 2: me think, what's the point? I was more just e
- 1:21Speaker 2: I was different to it. I think when I gave
- 1:23Speaker 2: my initial h I hated this. That was very That
- 1:28Speaker 2: was a.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Knee jerk reaction. It was very spur of the moment.
- 1:30Speaker 3: We've had a couple of days to let it simmer it.
- 1:34Speaker 2: It's always best to do that. Never watch it the
- 1:35Speaker 2: morning of season twenty episodes, don't watch them in reviewing straightawait.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Never go to bed on an argument. So as we
- 1:43Speaker 3: talk about it, Well, I'm gonna explore my feelings. I'm
- 1:46Speaker 3: gonna get deep down into my heart and soul about it.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I doubt I'm gonna have like burning hot, molten lava.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Hatred for it.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I think it's just gonna be like your dad.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I'm not so. I'm not so much angry as I'm disappointed. Yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 2: it just felt like two stories. It didn't merge well together.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I was really trying to shoehorn them in. And we've
- 2:04Speaker 2: already had this story before anyway. In Monty Can't Buy
- 2:07Speaker 2: Me Love from about season ten, where mister Burns was
- 2:10Speaker 2: trying to earn the love of the people of Springfield
- 2:12Speaker 2: because in the century billionaire arrived at the start, who
- 2:14Speaker 2: I believe was based on Richard Branson and ends up
- 2:17Speaker 2: going to Scotland and we meet Willie's family. He's trying
- 2:20Speaker 2: to get luckness monster blah blah blah and lackness Monst
- 2:22Speaker 2: ends up working with the Burns. See no et cetera,
- 2:23Speaker 2: et cetera. This is just the same story, except this
- 2:26Speaker 2: time we've got Mark Cuban, so it's like, okay, we're
- 2:28Speaker 2: now going to have an actual guest star billionaires. We've
- 2:30Speaker 2: got Jeff Bezos as well, which I thought was I
- 2:32Speaker 2: get that you're not going to get any more. That's
- 2:34Speaker 2: very true. It's old school Mark Bezos. Yeah. I was
- 2:38Speaker 2: blown away, blown away when I saw that was actually
- 2:41Speaker 2: Jeff crazy, which is pretty cool. But that story there
- 2:44Speaker 2: was just so rehashed and dull and boring. And I'm
- 2:47Speaker 2: so done with simp Burns. I want evil super villain
- 2:52Speaker 2: Burns that everybody fears. Nobody fears Burns anymore, even the
- 2:55Speaker 2: other billionaires they pick toss him over. He's a symp now, Yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 2: he just needs even if he's not prickish, she needs
- 3:01Speaker 2: to be kind of dickish. Yeah, because there's a difference,
- 3:05Speaker 2: and he was slightly dickish in this by building not
- 3:07Speaker 2: carry about the bees and things.
- 3:08Speaker 3: But that's run of the mill stuff. That's boring, that's
- 3:11Speaker 3: not that interesting. I mean, I prefer it when it's
- 3:13Speaker 3: kind of smaller scale. I mean, we did a gun
- 3:15Speaker 3: Springfield recently, which was I forgot the name of the episode,
- 3:20Speaker 3: but it's the one that pays a much to the graduate.
- 3:22Speaker 2: But it's Lady Boovie is like, get that.
- 3:26Speaker 3: He'll get there, he'll get the reventure and yeah, but.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Right there I was like Alliott climbing a wall. I thought, oh,
- 3:33Speaker 2: don't do I help it. No, he'll get there. If
- 3:37Speaker 2: he doesn't, he'll learn thanks, or he'll fall over flow
- 3:40Speaker 2: on his ass. Yes, Lady Bouvier's love it. I loved
- 3:44Speaker 2: how burns in that was. He had a bit of
- 3:46Speaker 2: sort of vim and vigor to him. Was guy as
- 3:49Speaker 2: I said, no need for the blow and gasket, Charlie. Arrogance. Arrogance,
- 3:54Speaker 2: that's it. That's exactly what you And this is kind
- 3:56Speaker 2: of like complacent. Oh I'm rich.
- 3:58Speaker 3: What are you going to do about It's like his
- 4:00Speaker 3: stuff we were talking about off air. We're not going
- 4:02Speaker 3: to reltigate everything we were talking about before we started recording.
- 4:06Speaker 3: But there's an old saying behind every great fortune is
- 4:09Speaker 3: a great crime. Now I don't think that every billionaire
- 4:12Speaker 3: is necessarily a monster, not everyone, but I think you've
- 4:17Speaker 3: got to have a bit of mongrel in you if
- 4:18Speaker 3: you're going to have that amount of zeros in your
- 4:20Speaker 3: bank balance and just having like Rupert Murdock's in his
- 4:25Speaker 3: notice is still fucking over his family, you're still messing
- 4:28Speaker 3: around his kids.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Is the ultimate hater. He is the real life Burns.
- 4:35Speaker 3: And you know when you've made fun of billionaires and
- 4:37Speaker 3: that in the past, Like again one of my favorite lines,
- 4:40Speaker 3: I'm Rubert Murdoch, the billionaire tirant.
- 4:42Speaker 2: This is just like, oh, the rich, they're just like us.
- 4:44Speaker 2: They just want to have fat. It's like, no, no,
- 4:46Speaker 2: they're supposed to be ruthless, scary man.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, this billionaire's camp or whatever. I know, it's
- 4:52Speaker 3: the jug that's like, oh, it's like a summer game
- 4:54Speaker 3: and they're just having fun. They should be monsters to
- 4:57Speaker 3: one another, you know, they should be pantsing one another.
- 5:00Speaker 3: It should be like really yeah, yeah, it should be
- 5:02Speaker 3: like for Wall Street shit, yeah, or just like even
- 5:05Speaker 3: the school yard bullies, but just ramped up with more
- 5:09Speaker 3: resources and you know, less to lose, so they would
- 5:12Speaker 3: just be absolute animals to one another. I think that'd
- 5:14Speaker 3: be funny anyway.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Sorry I've gone off track, but no, but that again,
- 5:19Speaker 2: as we said, mister Burns, he's just he's not People
- 5:21Speaker 2: don't fear him anymore, and that's the problem.
- 5:23Speaker 3: No, And you know that maybe would have been a
- 5:25Speaker 3: good starting point for this episode. I mean, there's many
- 5:29Speaker 3: ways to fix this episode. But yeah, having mister Burns
- 5:33Speaker 3: be like an old school billionaire or robber baron or whatever,
- 5:37Speaker 3: and it's like, oh my god, there's this whole new
- 5:39Speaker 3: generation of people who have made their money doing technology
- 5:43Speaker 3: or whatever. I mean, what's the line about bad look
- 5:46Speaker 3: for you? Founder of Facebook. It's like, we're not even
- 5:48Speaker 3: riverind A mush and eight.
- 5:51Speaker 2: So still in the early days.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah, well Facebook sort of came online in two thousand
- 5:55Speaker 3: and eight or became at UNI.
- 5:57Speaker 2: It must be about two thousand and seven ish. Yeah,
- 5:59Speaker 2: I bought the social network on Blue Ray. Nicol brought
- 6:01Speaker 2: it back from the UK. Nichola got back from so
- 6:03Speaker 2: this is may not be aware. So Nichola has been
- 6:05Speaker 2: in the UK for the last two and a half
- 6:06Speaker 2: weeks between's I've been doing that Daddy dayka here. It's
- 6:09Speaker 2: been crazy. But she brought back some Blue raes for me.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Oh that's nice. Yeah, I know you want to give
- 6:14Speaker 2: a shit about this, but short Circuit one and two.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Johnny five is a I'm well aware of Johnny five
- 6:18Speaker 2: and it's the I can't get. You can't end the sequel,
- 6:22Speaker 2: you can't.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Get it anymore because Fisher Stevens should not be playing
- 6:27Speaker 3: in Indian That.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Is true, yes, but they released it overseas. So I've
- 6:31Speaker 2: got a copy of those two fighter the Navigatormember. I'm
- 6:35Speaker 2: aware of it. I'd never go got that on Blu
- 6:36Speaker 2: Ray as well.
- 6:37Speaker 3: What are nostalgia bath you're enjoying?
- 6:39Speaker 2: And do I have it there? You know the books?
- 6:41Speaker 2: I got the Remember the Complete Guide of the Simpsons Family,
- 6:45Speaker 2: those books that have all the episode reviews in them.
- 6:46Speaker 2: You have seen a picture on the Facebook, Patroe whatnot.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But I got the hardcover editions that I didn't know existed.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I was like, I already have this book, but now
- 6:53Speaker 2: I've got a hardcover edition. And I got the Phantom
- 6:57Speaker 2: Menace Original Vinyl release two LP. Wow. It was very
- 7:02Speaker 2: nice of Nichola to bring all this stuf back for you,
- 7:04Speaker 2: nothing back with the kids, just for me. She she
- 7:07Speaker 2: went there with twenty one kills and stuff. Came back
- 7:09Speaker 2: with thirty one kilos bring me.
- 7:13Speaker 3: That's true, and I'm like, I'm not going to fill
- 7:17Speaker 3: Nichola's suitcase with the kind of shit that i'd want.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I don't have to know this shit. But so before
- 7:23Speaker 2: we get to the least of story here, so here
- 7:26Speaker 2: the data household has been a bit of drama lately, right,
- 7:29Speaker 2: So three things coming, three's they say. So first things first,
- 7:33Speaker 2: is not yesterday, day before the day we're going to
- 7:36Speaker 2: be going to the airport to pick up Nikola. Elliot's
- 7:38Speaker 2: been smashed in the face of a cricket bat at school.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Potential fractured.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Before you get too worried, folks, it was a plastic
- 7:45Speaker 3: cricketbaut That's still not great, but imagine it was a
- 7:47Speaker 3: wooden crick.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so now I wouldn't about to ban at school.
- 7:50Speaker 2: We considered a laid off. He's got a big fat face,
- 7:53Speaker 2: so I'm not blaming, but I'm just picturing Dan see
- 7:56Speaker 2: because of me, they have a warning. Yeah, exactly, that's Elliott. Now, yes,
- 7:59Speaker 2: so Allie's name and as a kid, the reason to
- 8:00Speaker 2: have a cokick about anymore. But anyway, so Ali got
- 8:02Speaker 2: back in the face, he's fine, but yes, that happened.
- 8:05Speaker 2: My dad has a car crash about an hour later,
- 8:07Speaker 2: so he tried turned a corner, car cut the corner,
- 8:10Speaker 2: bang hit my dad. Everyone was fine again, but you know,
- 8:14Speaker 2: car crash inconvenient when you want to drive to the airport.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Absolutely absolutely, I'm glad to hear that your dad's okay.
- 8:19Speaker 3: People are not driving well these days. I was driving
- 8:22Speaker 3: down Elizabeth Street, not the one in Melbourne, the one
- 8:24Speaker 3: in Geelong. It's a bit of a dodgy side street.
- 8:29Speaker 3: But people are coming out of the side so he's looking,
- 8:31Speaker 3: not looking at all. I almost got cleaned up twice
- 8:34Speaker 3: in the space like three minutes.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I try to explain to Elliott about why it's hard
- 8:37Speaker 2: to drive when kids are yelling in the back, and
- 8:39Speaker 2: I said, because it's not necessarily I can still be
- 8:41Speaker 2: doing the right thing and still have a car crush.
- 8:42Speaker 2: It means I've got to watch other people doing the
- 8:44Speaker 2: wrong thing. But pulling out of the car park in
- 8:46Speaker 2: Safeway will worse the strand here and Gelong, I'm packing
- 8:49Speaker 2: the street right, car reversed out of the car pup
- 8:51Speaker 2: without looking. Women crossed in front of the walkway, just
- 8:53Speaker 2: cut across in front of a car. Car went through
- 8:55Speaker 2: the roundabout. I said, see Elliott. In ten seconds, you
- 8:58Speaker 2: just saw three people do the wrong thing. Could have
- 9:00Speaker 2: been bad accidents. It's just people are just not driving well.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Where exactly out shake the fist or yeah, yeah he's
- 9:09Speaker 2: got his busted job. Exactly, it does have his buster.
- 9:11Speaker 2: And the third thing that happened is the Facebook page
- 9:15Speaker 2: once again has been demonetized and our suggestion has been
- 9:19Speaker 2: taken down, not suggesting our page for anybody, and I
- 9:23Speaker 2: can't access my Facebook acount now for a week. I
- 9:25Speaker 2: can't say messages to anybody because they saw a meme
- 9:28Speaker 2: that was posted on our page with Ralph Wigham doing
- 9:30Speaker 2: the I too, you choose you thing, except they said
- 9:33Speaker 2: I want to snoop snooz snoo you Futurama reference that
- 9:36Speaker 2: was deemed child sexual exploitation And basically our page is
- 9:40Speaker 2: ruined once again, thanks algorithm. Yeah, so that's why you're
- 9:44Speaker 2: not seeing anything posted on the page. If you're looking
- 9:46Speaker 2: for messages from me on Facebook one, not posting the
- 9:48Speaker 2: page your own group. I can't access Facebook at all.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I can't do anything. I appealed it. They sent me
- 9:55Speaker 2: to a department or to that department. I said, what
- 9:56Speaker 2: are it on to us for you to go to
- 9:58Speaker 2: this department? I looked in that one. I said, you
- 9:59Speaker 2: need to look into Facebook to be able to do that.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I can't log into Facebook because they won't let me.
- 10:03Speaker 2: They won't let me log into it. We weren't.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Angry at Mark Zuckerberg. We were angry with no Ucker
- 10:11Speaker 3: because of this episode anyway. But yeah, this is just
- 10:14Speaker 3: making things worse.
- 10:15Speaker 2: It's just bots, bots, bots making decisions and not actually
- 10:18Speaker 2: looking at It's a fucking Simpsons meme. I didn't get
- 10:20Speaker 2: a warning. It was just we've taken down your meme.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Child's sexual exploitation is the worst thing you could do
- 10:25Speaker 2: on this out on this app your band, I went,
- 10:27Speaker 2: you have to be kidding me, have to be kidding me.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I've seen animals getting tortured and people are getting assaulted
- 10:36Speaker 2: and shot, all these videos on Facebook. No, no worries, brother,
- 10:38Speaker 2: no worries, no worries at all. That's fine. A meme
- 10:40Speaker 2: with Rolf Wigham. That's child's sexual exploitation. We're we're going
- 10:44Speaker 2: to sort it out. Or yeah, doing my best, but
- 10:47Speaker 2: that will be back on line soon enough. That was
- 10:49Speaker 2: my twenty four hours. Four hours, I was like, I
- 10:52Speaker 2: had a headache, I'd get a little bit of a
- 10:55Speaker 2: cool So I'm doing my best to try and resolve that.
- 10:58Speaker 2: So I apologize. Yeah, But another reason why he should
- 11:01Speaker 2: support the show by a being supported on Patreon, because
- 11:04Speaker 2: that's another avenue of money gone out the window.
- 11:07Speaker 3: I no, twenty four hours only Jack Boo has had
- 11:09Speaker 3: it worse than down.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Though he has indeed, Yes, the birds and the bees.
- 11:12Speaker 2: The other story here for this one was that Lisa,
- 11:14Speaker 2: we've got the burns, now we've got the bees. Yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 2: Lisa has the story where she's trying to save the bees,
- 11:19Speaker 2: and the entire episode I'm just sitting here thinking, So
- 11:22Speaker 2: it's a acknowledge that it's a global epidemic or epidemic, pandemic,
- 11:26Speaker 2: what would you call it? Emergency? Emergency? Right, all the
- 11:29Speaker 2: bees around the world are dying and they can't work
- 11:32Speaker 2: out why, and Lisa Simpsons seems to be the only
- 11:35Speaker 2: person who gives a shit about this. No one. Frink's
- 11:38Speaker 2: trying to help homes joining him because of whatever. He's
- 11:40Speaker 2: giving her a lift, but no one cares. She's the
- 11:43Speaker 2: only one to She's saving the bees of the world.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Okay, Lisa being the only one who cares is something
- 11:51Speaker 3: I can buy. It tends to be a bit of
- 11:54Speaker 3: a trope in the Simpsons. It's like, doesn't anyone else
- 11:56Speaker 3: care about it?
- 11:56Speaker 2: I mean in Springfield, I'll get it, but acknowledging that
- 11:59Speaker 2: it's a global thing, that's it was just the bees
- 12:01Speaker 2: of Springfield. I can get people of spring for douchebags,
- 12:04Speaker 2: horrible people, I get that, But no one else around
- 12:06Speaker 2: the world's helping. So this the fate of the global
- 12:09Speaker 2: bees relies on Lisa. That's true.
- 12:11Speaker 3: This is the this is the good opportunity to get
- 12:13Speaker 3: some high profile nerd scientists in to say, well, Lisa,
- 12:16Speaker 3: the problem is blah blah blah. You know, it's like
- 12:17Speaker 3: when Paul McCartney is schilling his vegetarian sausages or whatever.
- 12:21Speaker 3: You and I when we were talking about this before
- 12:22Speaker 3: we started recording this episode, I mean, I did my
- 12:24Speaker 3: little soup, by the way, that's what it was, lental
- 12:27Speaker 3: souplenttal souper swat had. Wow, that's right, because I saw
- 12:30Speaker 3: the other day with our poo going it's the backwards yeah,
- 12:34Speaker 3: because she eats. She needs a hot dog. Like everybody
- 12:36Speaker 3: knows I'm glad you're happy with my Hey, someone's in trouble.
- 12:44Speaker 3: I'm glad you enjoyed my tofu hot dog.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yes, what are you saying? Only like six times the salt? Yes,
- 12:52Speaker 2: that taste gonna come from somewhere. That's correct taste. Where
- 12:56Speaker 2: are you? Yeah? But the just of it was yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 3: But Lisa is the protagonist. She wants to save the bees.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Burns is the antagonist. He doesn't care about the bees
- 13:10Speaker 3: and he's only in it for himself. Okay, so there
- 13:12Speaker 3: you got your your your conflict, the essence of drama
- 13:16Speaker 3: also comedy. Your B plot b plot is Homer wants
- 13:22Speaker 3: to help out Lisa, but the same time he realizes
- 13:25Speaker 3: Mike can make a bit of money off this with
- 13:26Speaker 3: honey or something. And you know it ties into the
- 13:29Speaker 3: A story as well.
- 13:30Speaker 2: It's a sugar story.
- 13:31Speaker 3: It's the sugar story essentially.
- 13:32Speaker 2: You know, if you had a rehash a story, rehash
- 13:33Speaker 2: that one play back the hits so like Dandy looked
- 13:37Speaker 2: at me like I was a genius, Like, wow, you
- 13:39Speaker 2: just bexs it.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I'm like yeah, I did. So, instead we get this,
- 13:43Speaker 3: which is just a misbegotten all over the place mess
- 13:47Speaker 3: that so.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Is it now that there's no honey bees in the
- 13:49Speaker 2: world anymore, it's all African killer bee killer bees. Is
- 13:53Speaker 2: that it? Now? What's the go I have no idea.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I don't know, and I mean, it's just it's I
- 14:00Speaker 2: wasn't furious at this in the sense that I didn't
- 14:03Speaker 2: none of the characters felt that they were really out
- 14:04Speaker 2: of character here. And it wasn't being a jerk or
- 14:06Speaker 2: that kind of thing. It was just I'm watched this
- 14:08Speaker 2: going I don't see why this episode is being made.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I don't see a point to it rather than other
- 14:14Speaker 2: than just so the writers can say, we got to
- 14:16Speaker 2: talk to Mark Cuban.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Yeah, and sometimes you don't need a point, sometimes you
- 14:19Speaker 3: just need laughs. Yeah, this didn't really have that many
- 14:21Speaker 3: laughs either. But it's true they got Mark. They got
- 14:24Speaker 3: Mark Cuban on board to provide a bit of color,
- 14:28Speaker 3: and I never.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I don't know. The other guest's favorite moments is empty.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I just look like Trivia favorite moments nothing, And that
- 14:38Speaker 2: was a stretch. Let's get the favorite moments you start.
- 14:41Speaker 3: But the other thing is they had Cuban, who was
- 14:44Speaker 3: He's relatively well known, he's on Shark Tank. He's worth
- 14:46Speaker 3: a couple of billion or a few billion, or maybe.
- 14:49Speaker 2: At the time he was very known for being there.
- 14:50Speaker 2: But he's also Bill. He went in the boxing team,
- 14:52Speaker 2: but byas basketball team.
- 14:55Speaker 3: He gets he gets the line's share of the guest
- 14:57Speaker 3: star stuff. There's another billionaire there who gets one line
- 15:00Speaker 3: and gets made fun of. It's daddy, Jeff. It's big
- 15:03Speaker 3: Jeffy b Yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Nowadays is Amazon wasn't the global thing it was now
- 15:09Speaker 2: in NTE.
- 15:11Speaker 3: No, it was just like, wow, this guy's done pretty
- 15:13Speaker 3: well running a bookshop.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Good on him. Yeah, Jeff, you go son, And now
- 15:18Speaker 2: it's like, ah, he owns James Bond. Now sorry, as
- 15:22Speaker 2: we record this episode, the news has come out that
- 15:25Speaker 2: the longtime producers the James Bond franchise have basically said,
- 15:29Speaker 2: we're stepping back. They threw too much money at us,
- 15:32Speaker 2: and now Amazon owns James Bond. The last time Amazon
- 15:36Speaker 2: bought a major and beloved franchise, it was Lord of
- 15:39Speaker 2: the Rings. They turned it into The Rings of Power,
- 15:41Speaker 2: which I believe no one watches. I didn't know it
- 15:43Speaker 2: was even out. Yeah, So there we go.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Let's get to a tribut or favorite moment Favorite Moments.
- 15:49Speaker 2: This will be short and sweet.
- 15:53Speaker 1: My favorite.
- 15:54Speaker 3: One of my favorites was I'm normally not a grandscaper
- 15:58Speaker 3: Willie guy, but I did enjoy his life and when
- 16:01Speaker 3: he's showing off his his beehives or whatever, I didn't know.
- 16:05Speaker 2: You were an apres.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Well from context, I can tell that man's bee kipper
- 16:08Speaker 3: just for the audience, but also I mean it's a
- 16:12Speaker 3: good way of doing the explanation, but putting in the
- 16:15Speaker 3: mouth of someone like Willie, who well, from context, I
- 16:19Speaker 3: thought that was actually not a bad game.
- 16:22Speaker 2: The other.
- 16:25Speaker 3: I'm not a big van of grand scaping Willie. I
- 16:26Speaker 3: am a big fan of Mayor Quimby. I did enjoy
- 16:30Speaker 3: We don't what is it? We don't have daycare today?
- 16:36Speaker 3: The men, I don't know who that guy you're leaving
- 16:39Speaker 3: your kids with is. You throw that into into a
- 16:44Speaker 3: golden ear and that's.
- 16:45Speaker 2: A great line. That's good. So those were guys favorite moments.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I'm looking through anything. I'm sure I'll get to it
- 16:56Speaker 2: as we are going through the episode. I like that
- 16:57Speaker 2: would have been one of my favorites. Trivia, let's go
- 17:01Speaker 2: tri next question you there eating the beaste. My first
- 17:05Speaker 2: question for you is who does Burns hit at the
- 17:09Speaker 2: food fight? He says, take that. So founder of Facebook's
- 17:13Speaker 2: one of them, Oh gosh, and the other one is
- 17:15Speaker 2: actually named somebody who's no longer with us. Very pivotal
- 17:19Speaker 2: to the wrestling industry in the nineties. Oh gosh. Okay,
- 17:23Speaker 2: so I owned a TV network. Yes, that's right, Ted Turner.
- 17:29Speaker 2: My first question to you, what is Marge's greatest fear? Ah,
- 17:34Speaker 2: So it's not not having grandchildren? Yeah, yes, because ever
- 17:38Speaker 2: being a grandmother? Yes, a grandmother, yes, which I thought
- 17:41Speaker 2: was very suitable for Marg. Yeah. My next question for
- 17:44Speaker 2: you is what are the names of the bees on
- 17:46Speaker 2: the gravestones? Which I thought was a nice visual gig,
- 17:50Speaker 2: A nice visual gig that I did not pay attention to.
- 17:52Speaker 2: So we had buzz Org, we had B Arthur b
- 17:57Speaker 2: e e Arthur, Gordon, Sumba Sting must be Sting yep, yep,
- 18:04Speaker 2: B B King, B B King, Susan B Anthony and
- 18:08Speaker 2: Joe Seinfeld A the gred of of course B movie
- 18:11Speaker 2: who he was to be? Indeed, who was the female
- 18:16Speaker 2: lean was that Renee Zelweger? That seems right. Let's have
- 18:20Speaker 2: a little B movie cast. What a random thing for
- 18:21Speaker 2: Joe simthing that just made a movie about a B
- 18:23Speaker 2: here's the weirdest thing.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it was Zweger. Yeah, yeah, he's got
- 18:28Speaker 3: this sitcom. There's long running sitcom that's regarded as kind
- 18:31Speaker 3: of like the apex of modern sitcoms and a bit
- 18:34Speaker 3: of a game change in a lot of ways. And
- 18:35Speaker 3: when he makes movies, he make b movie and he
- 18:38Speaker 3: makes Unfrosted. Yeah, yeah, that weird comedy for Netflix. So
- 18:42Speaker 3: strange money true, Well, you know, new hair don't come cheap.
- 18:47Speaker 2: How good was that thing I sent to you? Or
- 18:48Speaker 2: shows you, David? You haven't checked out Larry David just
- 18:52Speaker 2: I don't know who it is. Cole. I think the
- 18:54Speaker 2: guy's name was. He's like just to oppose in this
- 18:56Speaker 2: slow version camera Larry dads like Garcia Letter. It's the
- 19:00Speaker 2: most curby enthusias and loadered everything you'll ever see. And
- 19:03Speaker 2: he's just here is my hero, just not not bowing
- 19:08Speaker 2: down to the bullshit of modern content creator. It's like,
- 19:11Speaker 2: I ain't doing this shit.
- 19:12Speaker 3: It's lovely watching Dando get old and grumpy in real time.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it just really is, like you know, it's just
- 19:18Speaker 2: it's a slow washing. You just get to a pose
- 19:19Speaker 2: in it. And Jerry Siper seemed like he was down
- 19:21Speaker 2: for it. Larry David's like, yeah, fuck, I got signed
- 19:26Speaker 2: by money and curb money. My favorite part of the
- 19:30Speaker 2: whole bit, though, is when he bobs him off. It's
- 19:32Speaker 2: when he goes, I'm cold by the way he goes, Okay, Hi,
- 19:36Speaker 2: I don't care, but yes, what's what's going on here? Yeah? Anyway,
- 19:40Speaker 2: I really enjoyed it. My next question for you, Well,
- 19:41Speaker 2: that's your question. It's time for my question.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Yeah, Mardy Burns is on the cover of which issue
- 19:49Speaker 3: of Collier's magazine?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Oh?
- 19:50Speaker 2: Idea?
- 19:51Speaker 3: It was December nineteen forty three, forty three.
- 19:53Speaker 2: And my final question is who was the first scientist
- 19:55Speaker 2: in the phone book? Oh, it's not Aaron and somebody
- 20:00Speaker 2: ables ableman. Yeah, was closing. I do three more questions,
- 20:05Speaker 2: but let's we'll just do one of them. Pick your
- 20:07Speaker 2: best one. Better be good.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Move The basketball is from where?
- 20:12Speaker 2: I don't know. You have to go back to ketch.
- 20:14Speaker 2: You can't kit You can't where is ketch? You can
- 20:16Speaker 2: have no idea? How did you spell it? Okay? Catch
- 20:23Speaker 2: you can't now K E T E no, sorry, you
- 20:28Speaker 2: can't k E yeah T C H I K A
- 20:32Speaker 2: N I A ketch. You can't okay, ketch, you can't
- 20:36Speaker 2: is a city in Oh? It's in Alaska. Oh. I
- 20:41Speaker 2: did not expect it to be Alaska. I'm guessing that
- 20:43Speaker 2: Mark Move was an Inuit. Or it is a city
- 20:48Speaker 2: in the borough seat of Kitchen can Gateway borrow. Yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Revel Gito, revel strokes, revel Gito, that are there? What
- 21:01Speaker 2: is that? Revel Edigado, Revelgigido, revel Jegado, island of Alaska.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I did not expect to be Alaska. I'll give it.

- 23:17Speaker 3: mover and shaker, we need all the help we can
- 23:20Speaker 3: get from you good people. Yes, I'm content to just
- 23:22Speaker 3: live in it, you know, living a hut like Mechmu.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Support your pals, Guy Dando. All right, So the original
- 23:28Speaker 2: air date of The Burns and the Bees was December seventh,
- 23:31Speaker 2: two thousand and eight, which makes the intro even more
- 23:34Speaker 2: questionable because we discussed off air they use the Christmas
- 23:37Speaker 2: intro for this, right, Yes, for an episode that's not
- 23:39Speaker 2: really Christmas y not it's not Christmasy at all. Next,
- 23:43Speaker 2: and didn't at Christmas time? When did the next episode air?
- 23:46Speaker 2: Was the last one before? Hey, you're the one of
- 23:48Speaker 2: the compete looking Yeah, oh okay, so the next episode
- 23:50Speaker 2: of air was January twenty fifth, two thousand and nine.
- 23:52Speaker 2: That was last episode of air before Christmas? Is why
- 23:54Speaker 2: I guess they did it? Maybe it's well, maybe that's
- 23:56Speaker 2: why I'll give them this. Maybe that's why they didn't
- 23:58Speaker 2: do a Christmas episode because it wasn't gona airing at
- 24:00Speaker 2: Christmas time. Why there was such a gap, It's puzzling.
- 24:04Speaker 2: That's six weeks. I'm confused. At the best of time.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Seven December seventh, two thousand and eight to January twenty fifth,
- 24:11Speaker 2: two thousand and nine, there was no episodes. That's like,
- 24:13Speaker 2: it's like two months. That's like a two month holiday.
- 24:15Speaker 2: That is crazy. I'd love that. There's gotta be a
- 24:17Speaker 2: reason for it. I don't know what it is. But anyway,
- 24:19Speaker 2: that's that would explain why they threw it in. There
- 24:22Speaker 2: also means that I have to they did animate a
- 24:25Speaker 2: new couchcag what I guess just because it was their
- 24:28Speaker 2: way of having a Christmas moment without having Christmas episode.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Maybe who knows? Not that important? Uh the y so
- 24:35Speaker 2: there was that. The original production code was kab F
- 24:38Speaker 2: two one, written by Stephanie Gillis, who I believe is
- 24:41Speaker 2: the wife of al Jean, not only any Brandy points
- 24:46Speaker 2: of Algene. I'll be this week. Sorry, Al. She listens,
- 24:51Speaker 2: she's her, Yeah, the wife of al Jeane. Everyone's like,
- 24:57Speaker 2: this doesn't make any sense. Someone going to tell Al
- 25:00Speaker 2: tell him?
- 25:05Speaker 3: And we just had to keep the things we wouldn't.
- 25:08Speaker 2: The episode is no, no, no, no no. I just
- 25:10Speaker 2: wanted to see how much I Love You has the
- 25:14Speaker 2: weapon kids good episodes. The answered by Mark Kirkland, a
- 25:24Speaker 2: longtime director of the show. We're going it's only bad
- 25:27Speaker 2: about Mark Kirkland, as well as the balance things out
- 25:31Speaker 2: chootball game. Jesus is not mad, his birthday is on
- 25:34Speaker 2: Christmas and the couch the family in Christmas at Tire
- 25:36Speaker 2: sits on the couch and the camera pulls out to
- 25:38Speaker 2: reveal they are reflected in a Christmas ornament which is
- 25:41Speaker 2: on a Christmas tree and Sanders little help on Snowball
- 25:43Speaker 2: resting nearby. So Christmas intro. Last time this intro was
- 25:47Speaker 2: used was Kill Gill one on two, which was I
- 25:52Speaker 2: also another Christmas episode. It wasn't really Christmas episode, so
- 25:54Speaker 2: it started at Christmas and then he just lived with
- 25:56Speaker 2: them forever.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Remember what are they going to get Christmas time? That's
- 26:00Speaker 3: Simpson's A's.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Cube for the first twelve or so seasons, I actually
- 26:04Speaker 2: had that many Critis episodes. Think there's like three maybe yeah.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Interesting anyway, So the episode kicks off with what mister Davis, Well,
- 26:13Speaker 2: they're at the billionaires. Came on the plane on the
- 26:15Speaker 2: way they're two minutes. Oh okay, fine, there's just that
- 26:19Speaker 2: way of saying the billionaire. The billionaires retreat and it's
- 26:23Speaker 2: a place for sophisticated conversations, and it cuts to them
- 26:26Speaker 2: just you know, horsing around, fight and skinny dipping and
- 26:29Speaker 2: just billionaires doing what you wouldn't expect him to do.
- 26:33Speaker 2: That's the joke.
- 26:34Speaker 3: These are the jokes, folks. Yes, but it's very much
- 26:38Speaker 3: akin to your traditional summer camp shenanigans that were used
- 26:43Speaker 3: to from various movies and TV shows.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I do find it interested in that Zuckerberg is just
- 26:47Speaker 2: known as the founder of Facebook at this point, because
- 26:49Speaker 2: that they would have thought if we said Zuckerberg, no
- 26:51Speaker 2: one's going to know who that is. When did the
- 26:53Speaker 2: social network come out two thousand and I don't want
- 26:55Speaker 2: to say ten. No one really knew Zuckerberg as we
- 26:59Speaker 2: know him until that movie came out and anything. I
- 27:01Speaker 2: think that that made him a character. Almost Tom for
- 27:03Speaker 2: MySpace is very good at making himself known. It's Tom
- 27:05Speaker 2: for MySpace.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Well, yeah, the one good billionaire because he took the
- 27:10Speaker 3: money and ran good on him.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I mean even Bezos. At this stage, it's kind of
- 27:15Speaker 2: like it.
- 27:16Speaker 3: It feels almost like a bit of an inside joke
- 27:18Speaker 3: that they're naming him and may Mark Cuban's got a
- 27:20Speaker 3: higher profile, mainly because he put himself out there a lot.
- 27:23Speaker 3: But Cuban was kind of like you look at early
- 27:25Speaker 3: footage of him and he's kind of a dorky, and
- 27:29Speaker 3: he's carrying a little extra weight, and you know, he
- 27:31Speaker 3: hasn't got the fully shaved head. He's just yeah, he
- 27:34Speaker 3: looks like he looks like want of white pre Heisenberg.
- 27:38Speaker 3: He kind of just looks like, you know, he's wearing
- 27:40Speaker 3: that chinos and a shirt that's just you know a
- 27:42Speaker 3: little bit too it's one size too biggest, Like I
- 27:44Speaker 3: don't know if I'm going Artie Zif.
- 27:46Speaker 2: He's a little Artie zifi ish. Yeah, obviously he does,
- 27:50Speaker 2: probably does have the arrogance, but Ardie's if is very
- 27:52Speaker 2: much John Lovett. He's very here where I feel like
- 27:58Speaker 2: Bezos always had that vibe of he's going to do something.
- 28:02Speaker 2: You know it's going to be good. He's just waiting
- 28:04Speaker 2: for him to do something, and it was Amazon, But
- 28:06Speaker 2: here he's tread almost like the Millhouse, isn't he Yeah
- 28:09Speaker 2: he is, yeah, but we'll get to him. We'll get
- 28:11Speaker 2: to him. Wasn't name, which I thought was interesting because
- 28:14Speaker 2: last week, it was just last week when they had
- 28:16Speaker 2: Steve Mobs on the job, so that.
- 28:20Speaker 3: It's almost like the Simpsons and maybe society in general,
- 28:23Speaker 3: so like testing the waters, going how much fun can
- 28:25Speaker 3: we make of these guys? Because they they could very
- 28:30Speaker 3: easily destroy us all. Yeah, so they're just sort of will, oh, well,
- 28:34Speaker 3: can we make fun?
- 28:36Speaker 2: Except it's not really you, and it's it's kind of
- 28:38Speaker 2: a tribute as well. It's part of the fun. Yeah,
- 28:41Speaker 2: and this is just was it his pants or no,
- 28:44Speaker 2: he spilt his apple juice or something. He says, yeah,
- 28:46Speaker 2: but we get the montage here of them playing archery
- 28:50Speaker 2: of diamonds playing quidditch. Yeah, I think says two thousands,
- 28:54Speaker 2: like a quidditch reference. Yeah. I wonder if kids now
- 28:57Speaker 2: have any idea what this would be. I think something
- 29:00Speaker 2: is Harry Potter still a thing? It was Harry Potter,
- 29:02Speaker 2: I think because the parents who grew up with it
- 29:04Speaker 2: are now getting their kids into it. I think so
- 29:06Speaker 2: to some degree. I think it's just a cycle of
- 29:08Speaker 2: that's the same with the Simpsons. Well they do it.
- 29:10Speaker 2: So there's kids. There's people who are twenty now who
- 29:12Speaker 2: have no passion for the Simpsons at all because they
- 29:15Speaker 2: didn't watch television. Television wasn't a thing for them growing
- 29:17Speaker 2: Oh sure, yeah, yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 3: I saw something on social media the day where some
- 29:20Speaker 3: guy was talking about do you know that Chris Farley
- 29:23Speaker 3: is an OL character?
- 29:24Speaker 2: Matt Foley? You do rather be living in a van
- 29:28Speaker 2: down by the river? Fantastic?
- 29:31Speaker 3: This guy said, I was on like a training call
- 29:33Speaker 3: with a bunch of twenty somethings, and I sort of
- 29:35Speaker 3: did a Matt Foley thing about living in a van
- 29:36Speaker 3: by the river.
- 29:37Speaker 2: You know, I like Matt Foley. I'm like, no, I
- 29:39Speaker 2: don't know it.
- 29:39Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, I played by Chris Filey. They didn't
- 29:41Speaker 3: know who Chris Farley was.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I can get that. Yeah said like right a
- 29:45Speaker 2: nowother song about Chris Faalley. People, who's Adams Sulder? What's
- 29:50Speaker 2: up Gilmore? What's Billy Madison? Well that'll all change on
- 29:53Speaker 2: Happy Gilmore Too comes out on Netflix? When does that
- 29:56Speaker 2: come out? I don't know. It's in the what do
- 29:58Speaker 2: you call it? Thing? It's worth the weight. I feel
- 30:01Speaker 2: like I'm I haven't tended neffix On for a while
- 30:03Speaker 2: and never I feel like I'm getting more excited for
- 30:05Speaker 2: having him more to the closer it gets. At first
- 30:08Speaker 2: I went, it's just going to ruin my love of
- 30:10Speaker 2: the first one. But no, maybe we'll see. Because Adam
- 30:13Speaker 2: Sandler's running it. I have I believe in the Sandman,
- 30:16Speaker 2: of course. I just he's churned out some ship, you
- 30:19Speaker 2: know what it is. He's got his thing and he
- 30:21Speaker 2: does it well well yeah, and he's just he's and.
- 30:24Speaker 3: He's universally beloved. He's the one you can't not like
- 30:27Speaker 3: Adam Sandler. He got Jack Nicholson out of the house. Yes,
- 30:30Speaker 3: SNL fifty, Yeah, Nicholson doesn't leave.
- 30:32Speaker 2: The house, but he came out for the sad man. Yes,
- 30:35Speaker 2: Adam Sandler like he what a lord? Yeah, what a lord.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Come on the show, Adam Sandler. We'd love to have
- 30:42Speaker 2: you forever. Praising Adam Sandler, but he was fantastic. That's enough.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Fifty wanted to throw it out there.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Indeed, indeed rewinding just a little bit, talking about Harry Potter.
- 30:53Speaker 3: They want to bring clearly want to bring Harry Potter
- 30:55Speaker 3: to a whole new generation because they're about to reboot
- 30:57Speaker 3: it for the TV.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Did you not know this? Have you heard of this? No? No,
- 31:02Speaker 2: I haven't. Yeah, they were so I did the loop
- 31:05Speaker 2: with news at the moment, I've forgotten exactly what you
- 31:09Speaker 2: call it these days.
- 31:09Speaker 3: But Warner Brothers, HBO, Discovery whatever they w d WBD.
- 31:15Speaker 3: They made the movies of course back in the day,
- 31:17Speaker 3: and they're like, yeah, we're going to do the novels
- 31:20Speaker 3: all over again but the TV, and we're going to
- 31:22Speaker 3: lengthen them out a bit, you know, explore the.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Material a little bit. So every books a season could
- 31:27Speaker 2: well be something like that.
- 31:29Speaker 3: But they've already started talking about casting. Apparently John lithg
- 31:33Speaker 3: Gower was in the running.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Oh I did see that. Man Radio and Mike shared
- 31:36Speaker 2: something about that, and I was like, what is this?
- 31:38Speaker 2: John Sku has double die okay whatever, And he wasn't
- 31:41Speaker 2: a fan. I was like, I love John with Gow,
- 31:42Speaker 2: He's good and everything. Did Radio Mike say what John?
- 31:47Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure Radio Mike said John can't buy him
- 31:50Speaker 2: as Dumbledore. And I'm like, John can be bought as anything, sir,
- 31:54Speaker 2: I'll double check. I don't want to credit a man
- 31:56Speaker 2: ready and Mike and a man Radio Mike, what's look?
- 32:00Speaker 2: You had to double check that guy is serious, just
- 32:06Speaker 2: quietly feeling all right. So I'm scrolling down here following
- 32:08Speaker 2: you on social media. By the way, at its Radio
- 32:11Speaker 2: Mike our pal here at the show. Yes, he's reshared it.
- 32:16Speaker 2: He says, I'm a big fan of John with Gower,
- 32:17Speaker 2: but to me, this is a wrong casting. You're half right, Mike,
- 32:21Speaker 2: You're right to be a big fan of John Lithgow.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Am I personally it's actually pretty good casting.
- 32:25Speaker 3: So I agree to disagree. Let's move on.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Let's just get that many and I love John Lythgow,
- 32:33Speaker 2: so I'm then the thing's gonna get me into Harry
- 32:35Speaker 2: Potter things. I've never seen any the movies, never had
- 32:37Speaker 2: any of the books. John Gow is the man. Absolutely,
- 32:39Speaker 2: it's a good way to get in. Yes, indeed, all right,
- 32:41Speaker 2: so we'll have to talk about Harry Potter. That's yep.
- 32:45Speaker 2: And what was the final thing that other went for
- 32:46Speaker 2: a big skinny dip, Yeah, in the water. Then we'll
- 32:49Speaker 2: cut to the school and Bart has changed the women's
- 32:52Speaker 2: toilet to men toilet. This just felt very very two
- 32:56Speaker 2: thousand and eight. Well felt it felt very two thousand
- 32:58Speaker 2: and eight. It felt very Season one gag, but just
- 33:01Speaker 2: doing prank. Yeah, and a really sort of low level,
- 33:05Speaker 2: low scale, low steaks prank. Yeah. I didn't mind it.
- 33:08Speaker 2: It wasn't necessarily funny, but it just felt very simplistic,
- 33:11Speaker 2: which is not necessarily a bad thing. Predated bathroom, the
- 33:14Speaker 2: room for me whatever. Women scream. Then Jimbo draws, there's
- 33:20Speaker 2: them to go to the bee's nest or the second gradert,
- 33:24Speaker 2: isn't it. Yeah, well I use the what is the
- 33:26Speaker 2: sling shop? Oh? Yes, doesn't just shoot because it's over
- 33:28Speaker 2: the second grades. That's right, Dad, to shoot the bees hive,
- 33:32Speaker 2: so it falls into the second graders. Kennie then reads
- 33:35Speaker 2: that the transcription because he says, what do you say?
- 33:36Speaker 2: Blah blah blah. The bullies are just pointless to me
- 33:39Speaker 2: these days. They're again like burns. They're not. They beat
- 33:41Speaker 2: up guys occasionally, but they're seen as idiots now they're
- 33:45Speaker 2: hit morons.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Their hips ratio is uh yeah, a little, a little skewed.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I mean, what was the one they had the other
- 33:51Speaker 2: day where it was the episode where it was Basher
- 33:55Speaker 2: and was last week?
- 33:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, wow, it seems so long go. We did
- 34:01Speaker 3: do a guy on springfut in between, but yeah, I
- 34:05Speaker 3: mean occasionally come.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Up with a good line. But yeah, they're not bullies.
- 34:10Speaker 2: They're there to provide a threat. The kids don't seem
- 34:14Speaker 2: to fear them, and in a way they used to
- 34:16Speaker 2: in the first ten seasons. It's just they'll beat you up.
- 34:19Speaker 2: But you know we can outsmart them quite easily. You know,
- 34:21Speaker 2: they're not not terrifying anymore, that's right. Yeah, but he dares,
- 34:25Speaker 2: he puts a dare placed on his nards, so he
- 34:28Speaker 2: uses the thing shot. But but he's the thing shot
- 34:30Speaker 2: to shoot the beehive. It falls down onto the second
- 34:32Speaker 2: grades at Lisa jumps on. It's like someone dropping on
- 34:34Speaker 2: a grenade, and she realized there's no bees in there,
- 34:36Speaker 2: like Captain America would. Yes, and then realizes that all
- 34:39Speaker 2: of the bees are dead. Really says that all over
- 34:42Speaker 2: the world they will die. No and knows why and yeah,
- 34:46Speaker 2: shows us the little graves of all his bee friends.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Blah blah blah bah blah, as I said, acknowledging that
- 34:49Speaker 2: it's around the world. So wi is Lisa the only
- 34:51Speaker 2: one it seems to care about this? But move on.
- 34:52Speaker 3: It's over something we're really thinking about that much anymore.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I think we've got bigger problems in all honesty, I mean,
- 34:57Speaker 3: the bees are kind of important to the ecosystem general.
- 35:00Speaker 3: It was certainly around this time. I'm trying to remember
- 35:03Speaker 3: when the m Night shymal And movie The Happening came out.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Do you remember that one and eight?
- 35:11Speaker 2: What do you reckon?
- 35:11Speaker 3: Two thousand and I want eight? I'm going to say
- 35:13Speaker 3: two thousand and eight. I think it was around this time.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Happening was two thousand and eight. There we go, we
- 35:17Speaker 2: got five. How do our brains know that? Ship. A
- 35:22Speaker 2: lot of you asked me what I have for breakfast yesterday.
- 35:24Speaker 2: I can't tell you that. I told you the happening
- 35:26Speaker 2: A movie I haven't seen well year it came out.
- 35:29Speaker 2: It's just got a tours. Jesus brains are weird, man.
- 35:34Speaker 2: It's true and it's a bit of a it's a
- 35:35Speaker 2: bit of an odd movie that happening.
- 35:36Speaker 3: But I think one thing people remember about it, if
- 35:40Speaker 3: I remember anything about it, is that Mark Wolburg plays
- 35:42Speaker 3: this science.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Teacher and his wasn't much happening in There wasn't much happening,
- 35:47Speaker 2: not much happening.
- 35:53Speaker 3: But his opening scene is him talking to his science
- 35:55Speaker 3: class about don't you guys worried about the bees? See
- 35:59Speaker 3: how do you mother for me? Why did you turn
- 36:01Speaker 3: into Jimmy from South Park?
- 36:03Speaker 2: It was Roves catchphrase, remember how do your mother for me?
- 36:06Speaker 2: At the end of every show, rope would say that
- 36:08Speaker 2: rapid manas that's true, how do you man for me?
- 36:11Speaker 2: I'm rapid manis how do you mom for me? He
- 36:15Speaker 2: just fell off the face of the earth, didn't he?
- 36:17Speaker 2: I mean, he's but it's just you were. You were
- 36:21Speaker 2: the thing. You were like the peak of Australian television,
- 36:24Speaker 2: and then you went to try and do your American
- 36:26Speaker 2: thing and you never recovery. It's like, yeah, we got
- 36:28Speaker 2: a bunch of you guys, Yeah, yeah, we got all
- 36:30Speaker 2: the Jimmy's we need. We don't need a rove. It
- 36:33Speaker 2: just didn't work, and that was it. Everyone went, oh,
- 36:35Speaker 2: you took you for rest. This day you get to America,
- 36:37Speaker 2: do you Oh you fucked up? Were fine? Go on
- 36:40Speaker 2: breakfast ready or never.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Have fun with that with you know some young lady
- 36:44Speaker 3: from the Bachelorette.
- 36:45Speaker 2: A random reality show. Yeah, anyway, Rupe Madace, everybody.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Good times, great classic hits we're talking about. Oh yeah,
- 36:53Speaker 3: because yeah, Mark what we were saying in this happening it's.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Like, you guys worried about the bees. You know, you
- 36:58Speaker 2: need to be worried about the bees. So yeah, in
- 37:00Speaker 2: two thousand and eight was a time when we were
- 37:01Speaker 2: all worried about the bees. Now we're worried about AI. Yeah,
- 37:05Speaker 2: there's no point worrying about it's going to happen. Just oh,
- 37:07Speaker 2: it's already happened. Just just roll the punches, people. Yes, indeed,
- 37:10Speaker 2: this show was brought to you by AI, but we
- 37:14Speaker 2: just spoke every word into a machine once and it's
- 37:17Speaker 2: just churning these podcasts out for us. Save there's a
- 37:19Speaker 2: lot of time. I saw Hagerzara had a big thing
- 37:23Speaker 2: about AI recently because the Simpsons have so many episodes. Now,
- 37:27Speaker 2: did I send that to you? Well, he was talking
- 37:29Speaker 2: about We're talking to him with Jim Cummings on the
- 37:31Speaker 2: tun Nim podcast, but the New York Times just seemed
- 37:33Speaker 2: to have claimed it we were the first TI to
- 37:35Speaker 2: talk about AI, and I'm like, yeah, I'm pretty sure
- 37:37Speaker 2: we were the first one to talk about it with
- 37:38Speaker 2: the tank. But anyway, it's true though, you can literally
- 37:40Speaker 2: make Sims episodes now without humans because there's so much
- 37:44Speaker 2: dialogue out there. It could make it. This podcast has
- 37:47Speaker 2: brought to you by one hundred percent human being, human
- 37:49Speaker 2: beings who need money, who need to eat food and
- 37:55Speaker 2: keep a roof over their head. They go back to
- 37:58Speaker 2: the retreat and everyone's in bed, and then net Worth
- 38:02Speaker 2: is going up, but cheats and the numbers yes, yep.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Then we're all telling ghost stories about the SEC. I
- 38:08Speaker 2: believe arriving on an answer and the call from the
- 38:13Speaker 2: SEC was coming from inside their own brokerage house.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Jeff Bezos wees pants, I.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Did not those apple juice from before I falled. Hey
- 38:28Speaker 2: raised a million dollars and to sweetened the butt. The
- 38:31Speaker 2: assistant Smithers. If you lose me, sir, may I say
- 38:34Speaker 2: what an honor it's been to bits don't talk, they
- 38:37Speaker 2: see and raise mm hmm. Well, if we're betting people,
- 38:42Speaker 2: I got a whole herd of them.
- 38:44Speaker 4: My professional basketball team, the Austin Celtics.
- 38:51Speaker 2: They're hardly worth as Smithers. But we don't have all night.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Can you beat nine high damn eight high two on
- 39:00Speaker 2: a basketball team? Do they take good care of him Burns?
- 39:04Speaker 4: Don't let the forwards mix with the guards, and if
- 39:07Speaker 4: they're acting sluggish, slip some steroids into their Colcaine.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Lisa is, I'm telling Homer about the bees and Homers
- 39:16Speaker 2: just being a joke for a second, being a joke
- 39:17Speaker 2: season twenty Now, who's going to stin me? When I
- 39:20Speaker 2: walk all over this? And it's just what she's going.
- 39:23Speaker 2: We just don't know who Homer is anymore, do we.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I can get behind Homer being annoyed because it's like,
- 39:31Speaker 2: why am I worried about bees? You know?
- 39:33Speaker 3: I mean initially be like, but a bee stunny?
- 39:37Speaker 2: Once?
- 39:37Speaker 3: When I stepped on it, or you know, a bee
- 39:39Speaker 3: bit my bottom now my bottom's big.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a flashback. That'd be great.
- 39:44Speaker 3: And then you know, just being the voice of stupidity
- 39:48Speaker 3: of like why should I care? And they're like, well,
- 39:51Speaker 3: you don't get any hate what then he becomes an
- 39:53Speaker 3: activist the next line.
- 39:54Speaker 2: For me, they doubled down on it. Just it felt
- 39:56Speaker 2: very unhomeerish when he went for Howers, the painted horse
- 39:59Speaker 2: of the plant world. Am I that's nothing Homer would
- 40:02Speaker 2: never say that the planet? So that that's that's such
- 40:07Speaker 2: a that no one would ever that is such.
- 40:09Speaker 3: A made up that's ripped off. That's ripped off from
- 40:13Speaker 3: a movie called With Null and I, which almost universally
- 40:16Speaker 3: beloved by Generation X and indoor kids like myself. It's
- 40:19Speaker 3: about these two actors in London the United sixties. One
- 40:22Speaker 3: of them has this very flamboy and gay uncle who's
- 40:26Speaker 3: flowers essentially prostitutes tarts for the bees or something along those.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Okay, it's like, so that's what now.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Whether they're paying tribute to that or they just ripped
- 40:33Speaker 3: it off, I don't know, but it doesn't really sound
- 40:38Speaker 3: you just made the It's not something I would imagine
- 40:47Speaker 3: Homer saying and even when Homer says stuff that seems
- 40:49Speaker 3: in congress or out of character, Yeah, okay, his whole bit,
- 40:53Speaker 3: that whole wonderful bit about he wants it all the
- 40:57Speaker 3: you know, the dizzy highs, the crushing loans, of the
- 40:59Speaker 3: creamy scents, all cant of stuff.
- 41:00Speaker 2: That's your favorite catch lads of all time. Love it,
- 41:02Speaker 2: love it, love it, love it. That really works, So
- 41:05Speaker 2: those lines can work. This one just did not it
- 41:08Speaker 2: just if it felt very forced at least then the
- 41:10Speaker 2: matages a world with no honey and just Apo apocolytic.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Just word's gone to ship much not mad Max honeyl
- 41:17Speaker 2: blah blah. Yeah. And it was a Homer envision, its
- 41:19Speaker 2: home vision because it gets WALLI yeah, because Wally Get
- 41:22Speaker 2: is put into a turn to a cube. Yes, another
- 41:23Speaker 2: two thousand and eight reference from two thousand and eight.
- 41:26Speaker 2: I reckon it was. I'm gonna say two thousand seven,
- 41:31Speaker 2: I almost say seven. Now let's say seven. I'm feeling seven.
- 41:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna say I roll it all those guys lucky seven.
- 41:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna say seven. I'm gonna say seven. Two to day.
- 41:41Speaker 2: I should have stayed with it, should it go like,
- 41:46Speaker 2: I changed my mind. Don't you hate that?
- 41:49Speaker 3: In the rare occasions that, well, you're a gambler, you're
- 41:53Speaker 3: a gambling man. I can tell those rare occasions.
- 41:55Speaker 2: I never bet money on anything. I never gamble, honestly,
- 41:58Speaker 2: never get I don't play that. I play more Chili
- 42:00Speaker 2: peaking machine wants with Nicolai, and that's it.
- 42:03Speaker 3: I'm too much of a cheap scat as well.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I'm like, I like to make I bet it, but
- 42:07Speaker 2: it actually bet money.
- 42:08Speaker 3: I will every once in a while, when you know,
- 42:11Speaker 3: when the jackpot is something like huge and insane, it's like, okay,
- 42:16Speaker 3: I'm gonna throw twenty bucks Powerball.
- 42:18Speaker 2: If I could win forty million. Oh no, when you want,
- 42:21Speaker 2: because you just won't reply to my messages anymore, there'll
- 42:25Speaker 2: just be less. How good would it be? They'll just
- 42:27Speaker 2: be subscribe? How good? If you do podcasts and you
- 42:31Speaker 2: don't have to do not I feel like I have
- 42:33Speaker 2: to do this podcast, but it's just this is my
- 42:35Speaker 2: livelihood now, right, and I love doing it. It's my passion,
- 42:36Speaker 2: it's my dream. But been able to do it and
- 42:39Speaker 2: know that it doesn't matter if people are gonna support
- 42:41Speaker 2: you or anything like that, it's just you're doing it
- 42:42Speaker 2: and you get to do it because you love it,
- 42:43Speaker 2: and that's it.
- 42:44Speaker 3: Absolutely, Yeah, that's fantastic.
- 42:46Speaker 2: When your wife's like when you made this month, I'm like,
- 42:49Speaker 2: I don't know, Oh my goodness. You're the one who
- 42:54Speaker 2: went to English No Blue business class. I haven't been
- 42:57Speaker 2: that shit up anyway, you're wallied. Yeah, we come out
- 43:03Speaker 2: in two thousand and eight, so it did. Indeed, Yes,

- 43:37Speaker 4: See these red dots. This bee has been felled by
- 43:41Speaker 4: bee measles, or as I call it, beesels.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Animals can get sick.
- 43:47Speaker 4: I'm going to talk to the girl from now on,
- 43:49Speaker 4: you're the nerd. What we need to do now is
- 43:52Speaker 4: find enough uninfected bees to start a healthy colony. This
- 43:56Speaker 4: pheromone should attrack them.
- 44:00Speaker 5: Marry me and I'll support you for life.
- 44:03Speaker 4: You're not a bee les thing is useless.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Wants to marry him a support him for life, and
- 44:10Speaker 2: he's like danno can relate, yes, and he says, you're
- 44:16Speaker 2: not going to be This is useless, so he's not
- 44:17Speaker 2: interested in the woman. Then they find an unaffected queen
- 44:20Speaker 2: bee on Lisa, and the coloniest surround Lisa's face, and
- 44:23Speaker 2: she now she knows the crazy bee girls. It's just
- 44:25Speaker 2: like Grandpa when he had your bit of bees for
- 44:27Speaker 2: a lady and she still didn't love him. Correct. They
- 44:29Speaker 2: arrive home and Homer says, what's that? What's your worst fear? Marge?
- 44:32Speaker 2: I didn't mind this, never being a grandmother. At least
- 44:34Speaker 2: we can be to bees anyway, here it is. She
- 44:36Speaker 2: walks in with the beard of bees on. Grandpa thinks
- 44:38Speaker 2: it's Lincoln returned. He's got rid of the hats and
- 44:40Speaker 2: now he's got his vote. We come back from commercial
- 44:44Speaker 2: and Bart is molding the bees into eyebrows and whatnot
- 44:47Speaker 2: on Lisa's face. Just visual gag. You're going to get
- 44:49Speaker 2: away with an animation and the millouse, Yes, exactly with
- 44:52Speaker 2: the eyebrows, and it doesn't They don't sting. Apparently don't
- 44:55Speaker 2: sting when they're in a cluster because they're not threatened.
- 44:57Speaker 2: It's only when you try to attack their hive they
- 44:59Speaker 2: will attack you. And all it takes is one troubled loner.
- 45:02Speaker 2: I'm like, that is a very margin one. All text
- 45:03Speaker 2: is one troubled loner, always like a worry wart. It's like,
- 45:06Speaker 2: you know, it could be funning. All texts one. And
- 45:07Speaker 2: it's true though, all texts one. Like a bank heist,
- 45:10Speaker 2: you can be the most efficient fucking heist team in
- 45:13Speaker 2: the world. All Texas, one guy, All it texts one Wangrow. Yeah,
- 45:16Speaker 2: and that's it. You're fucked. De Niro and Kilmer and
- 45:20Speaker 2: Sizemore they would have gone away playing, but Wango is
- 45:23Speaker 2: just like you had to shoot that guy. Here's the
- 45:24Speaker 2: epitome of like Wayangrow is. The is the callback to
- 45:28Speaker 2: you anytime someone sucks up on a bank heist, the
- 45:29Speaker 2: waygo right, absolutely heat, I rewatch heat. We should it
- 45:34Speaker 2: on the movie guide. Oh yeah, Hey, well well, Leonard
- 45:37Speaker 2: spoke to him. He was the end. He certainly did.
- 45:40Speaker 2: And you know one of the reasons we would, well,
- 45:43Speaker 2: at least we came up with, like anniversary ones. Was
- 45:46Speaker 2: he one of them?
- 45:47Speaker 3: Well, he came out in nineteen ninety five. There we go,
- 45:49Speaker 3: and this is twenty twenty five, so it's a thirty
- 45:51Speaker 3: year anniversary.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Let's do it. Let's do it. Get the Nero on.
- 45:54Speaker 2: What would you ask the Neiro? I'd ask him why
- 45:57Speaker 2: you're talking to me? You would? Okay, you would too,
- 46:00Speaker 2: I wouldn't. You don't know me at all? Like I do,
- 46:04Speaker 2: start going, I'm gonna ask you this, but I want
- 46:06Speaker 2: to ask you that I'm joking. You learned from was
- 46:11Speaker 2: it Bob Geldoff? Don't yes, don't take the piss. You
- 46:15Speaker 2: would have been taking the piss, were you? You were
- 46:17Speaker 2: just young and didn't realize what you were saying? Was
- 46:21Speaker 2: I don't know what the hell was going on? Didn't
- 46:23Speaker 2: you do his accent?
- 46:24Speaker 3: I disassociated is what I did. There are many things
- 46:29Speaker 3: to ask robertson.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Now you did his accent to his face? That's so good.
- 46:32Speaker 2: I can just imagine. Was it wasn't face to face?
- 46:33Speaker 2: The interview was it. Oh yeah, oh ship, Yeah, I'm
- 46:36Speaker 2: like I made it out of that room alive. I
- 46:39Speaker 2: would have it for the whole story. I would have died.
- 46:43Speaker 2: I did, Yeah, for the whole story.
- 46:45Speaker 3: Listen to the movie guide with Moltlin Davis. Was this
- 46:48Speaker 3: almost famous for the family?
- 46:49Speaker 2: I think almost briefrond now quickly here. So basically, you
- 46:52Speaker 2: interviewed Bobby god Off. Your first ever interview is.
- 46:54Speaker 3: One of my first big interviews when I was when
- 46:56Speaker 3: I was a rookie journo.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Uh, and.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Someone had pinched his solol. It was one of his
- 47:03Speaker 3: nonsense solo and nobody gave a shit about someone who
- 47:06Speaker 3: pinched it from the office.
- 47:07Speaker 2: This was how he started the interview. Nonsense. So Bob,
- 47:12Speaker 2: some more bullshit? Why don't you like Monday's? Do you really?
- 47:20Speaker 2: Do you really not like Monday's? Bob? Do you ever
- 47:23Speaker 2: do interviews on Mondays? Uh?
- 47:27Speaker 3: This was pre streaming and pre internet and all that
- 47:29Speaker 3: kind of stuff. I was unable to hear his music
- 47:32Speaker 3: before I did the interview. I did have all the material.
- 47:35Speaker 3: I did a lot of research that sentence.
- 47:37Speaker 2: Yeah. I came in with a whole bunch.
- 47:38Speaker 3: Of you know, I thought were pretty good questions I
- 47:41Speaker 3: was also a rookie, and I said, ah, full disclosure,
- 47:43Speaker 3: I have not a chance to listen to the album.
- 47:44Speaker 3: Someone pinched from the office, when what the fuck what
- 47:47Speaker 3: are we going to talk about? Then you just looked
- 47:49Speaker 3: at me like like I trailed in dog shit on
- 47:52Speaker 3: my shoes.
- 47:53Speaker 5: Oh it was.
- 47:54Speaker 2: It was just like oh my god. And yeah, and
- 47:59Speaker 2: everything just failed after that. I mean, you know, the
- 48:02Speaker 2: whole time, you're just in the back of your head.
- 48:04Speaker 2: You're worrying, aren't you. Oh yeah, yeah, this guy hates
- 48:06Speaker 2: me and he saved the world. Yeah, he saved all
- 48:09Speaker 2: those Ethiopians and he hates me. He could just could
- 48:11Speaker 2: just see the serious distain on his face. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 48:14Speaker 2: absolutely and some sage. I think you would have got
- 48:17Speaker 2: away with till it wasn't for that meddling line at
- 48:19Speaker 2: the start. You shouldn't said anything. I know, if you
- 48:21Speaker 2: hadn't said anything, probably would have got away with it.
- 48:23Speaker 3: I talked about this on Facebook a while back because
- 48:26Speaker 3: there was an ossy journalist who did the same thing.
- 48:31Speaker 3: He went over to London to interview A Dell about
- 48:33Speaker 3: a new album. He said, I haven't heard your album,
- 48:35Speaker 3: and he actually copped it this on camera.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Yeah, don't do that. He's what we listened to on
- 48:40Speaker 2: the plane.
- 48:43Speaker 3: I've got the new Jack Reacher on audible. I'm gonna
- 48:45Speaker 3: listen to that.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Did you actually say that? Oh God, that's me speculating,
- 48:52Speaker 2: that's me adding a little spice in the story. But
- 48:55Speaker 2: why Yeah, don't tell them, don't tell them. Yeah, don't
- 48:58Speaker 2: do what guy did. Don't don't go on your date
- 49:00Speaker 2: and say I didn't shower this morning. Just just roll
- 49:03Speaker 2: with the punches. So I always smell like this. Yeah,
- 49:07Speaker 2: don't say anything unless if you can't handle me in
- 49:10Speaker 2: my worst, you don't deserve me my best. The thing is,
- 49:16Speaker 2: if you had have said to you though in that moment,
- 49:18Speaker 2: if you hadn't said anything at the start, and he goes,
- 49:21Speaker 2: would you have? All your questions wouldn't have been what
- 49:23Speaker 2: you'd liked about the album though, would they? They would
- 49:25Speaker 2: have just been no generic ones?
- 49:28Speaker 3: You know, first three or four are about the album,
- 49:30Speaker 3: and then the rest are kind of like, look, I no,
- 49:33Speaker 3: you probably see if talking about live but you know,
- 49:34Speaker 3: how does it fold into such and such?
- 49:36Speaker 4: You?
- 49:36Speaker 3: Oh, how you did a bit of acting and so
- 49:37Speaker 3: and something? Because I mentioned some film that it was
- 49:39Speaker 3: in where he played like a pool shark or something
- 49:42Speaker 3: like that.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Fucking nobody saw that one. I'm like I did years ago. Anyway,
- 49:52Speaker 2: that was not a good time. Not hey, a blip
- 49:56Speaker 2: on the radar.
- 49:57Speaker 3: A blip on the radar. Other other journals would have liked.
- 50:00Speaker 3: I think I'll go into corporate comms and made a
- 50:02Speaker 3: proper living.
- 50:03Speaker 2: But no, I'm stuck with entertainment journalists. What did his
- 50:05Speaker 2: PR do it when you said that, when he said
- 50:08Speaker 2: that they sense those attention, I think this was no.
- 50:11Speaker 3: They stuck around. They probably like enjoyed the show. Where
- 50:13Speaker 3: was it he was in Melbourne? Okay, it's some hotel.
- 50:16Speaker 3: I've forgotten exactly where they were. Like, let's throw a
- 50:18Speaker 3: little fresh meat to Bob. He's been too cheerful all morning.
- 50:23Speaker 2: He's sitting back just laughing at ass Is Off. He's
- 50:25Speaker 2: a first class hater. Let's let's let him get his
- 50:28Speaker 2: hate on. Yeah, that nonsense. Back to.
- 50:33Speaker 3: We now return you to the birds and the bee.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Basically, Marge's agrees that Lisa am I not going to
- 50:39Speaker 2: see the lane like we now return you to the
- 50:41Speaker 2: burns and the bees already in progress. Indeed, so March
- 50:44Speaker 2: allows Lisa to wear the beard for one day. Then
- 50:48Speaker 2: the Celtics the Mavericks, and Cuban is bragging about how
- 50:50Speaker 2: he owns the team and blah blah blah and how
- 50:52Speaker 2: old his money seems to it seems to have bought
- 50:54Speaker 2: him happiness. Mister Burns can't believe this. How is this
- 50:56Speaker 2: man happy when he's so rich? He wants to meet
- 50:58Speaker 2: him and do the secret in his handshake and he
- 51:01Speaker 2: tells him to just have fun. He's it fun. I've
- 51:03Speaker 2: only ever seen that written, never heard it heard before.
- 51:05Speaker 2: You know, we've heard say fun a million times. And
- 51:08Speaker 2: then yeah, basically mister Ben's get's the idea here the
- 51:10Speaker 2: same story. He wants to start having fun with his money.
- 51:13Speaker 2: So I guess the story in that one was he
- 51:15Speaker 2: wants to earn the love of the people. This one
- 51:18Speaker 2: here he wants to try and find happiness. I guess
- 51:21Speaker 2: that's the difference. He wasn't doing us to earn the love.
- 51:24Speaker 2: He was doing this for fun. Yeah, I don't know,
- 51:28Speaker 2: really bland storytelling. It's dumbe because yeah, I mean, Burns don't.
- 51:32Speaker 2: Why would he give a shit about what the people think? Ye, well,
- 51:35Speaker 2: he doesn't shouldn't want to be happy. His happiness is
- 51:37Speaker 2: being miserable. Make it miserable. That's his happiness. Now.
- 51:40Speaker 3: Mark Cuban, to his credit, is gone for the gusto here.
- 51:43Speaker 3: I mean, he's like, whoa, you know, here's that line.
- 51:45Speaker 3: I can't remember how I made my money, At which
- 51:48Speaker 3: point I was like, how did Mark Cuban make his money?
- 51:50Speaker 3: And you look into it and he's like he was
- 51:52Speaker 3: either on the ground floor or or started up various
- 51:57Speaker 3: e commerce businesses or something like that. Although apparently, according
- 52:00Speaker 3: to Wikipedia, which never lies, Cuban first ventured in the
- 52:03Speaker 3: business at age twelve, he sold garbage bags to pay
- 52:05Speaker 3: prepare of expensive sneakers. A few years later, he earned
- 52:08Speaker 3: money by selling stamps and coins. So, yeah, he's just
- 52:11Speaker 3: one of these go getters who's kind.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Of like extra, get your paper here. Yeah, I'm going
- 52:17Speaker 2: to take this Shanny penny and invest it in compound interest.
- 52:19Speaker 3: I'm gonna have one.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Hundred thousand dollars. I don't love it start that's very much.
- 52:23Speaker 2: So yeah, but yeah, Cuban's one of these guys is like, yeah,
- 52:28Speaker 2: I made money in tech. How Yeah, it's like underpants names,
- 52:33Speaker 2: but there was the interest in tech. Question mark question
- 52:35Speaker 2: my question mark profit two thousand to twenty ten. I
- 52:37Speaker 2: think it was the era of websites. You can build
- 52:40Speaker 2: a website, you're in the money. Yeah, it was just tech.
- 52:44Speaker 2: You did it because you had that transition of people
- 52:47Speaker 2: who didn't who hadn't been raised yet properly on computers,
- 52:49Speaker 2: who didn't really know how to build them yet, and
- 52:52Speaker 2: people who just were never ever going to learn how
- 52:53Speaker 2: to build computers. So you can just make the most
- 52:55Speaker 2: of that. I think. Do you know that? Do you
- 52:57Speaker 2: know the name of the founder of Yahoo? Do you
- 52:58Speaker 2: remember Yahoo? I'm yeah, yeah, that's the thing that's you know,
- 53:02Speaker 2: we all know it was Google. It was the same
- 53:05Speaker 2: thing as Google. Just the competation for us, that's right.
- 53:10Speaker 2: What was the other? Started with b? Bing? Yeah? Being
- 53:13Speaker 2: still around up that. But bing is a bit of
- 53:14Speaker 2: a punchline. I'm spinning a bit. How does bing exist?
- 53:18Speaker 2: Who uses bing? Besides Chandler? That's right, rip, Matthew Perry.
- 53:25Speaker 2: I was looking at here, so this line, Remember mister
- 53:27Speaker 2: Burns seen here terrorising children and nine in century would
- 53:29Speaker 2: cut remember that that's the Burns that I want sure
- 53:33Speaker 2: that children fear. And that's lute monster.
- 53:38Speaker 3: And every once in a while, every like four or
- 53:40Speaker 3: five seasons do a scrooge with him? Was like, yeah,
- 53:45Speaker 3: show the humanity to some degree. Yeah, oh well, there
- 53:49Speaker 3: is a there's.
- 53:49Speaker 2: A heart and soul in there, you know, the old man.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Let him brinch out a little bit. The old man
- 53:53Speaker 2: in the Lisa is a good one where he loses
- 53:55Speaker 2: all his money and then he has to start the
- 53:57Speaker 2: recycling plant and in the end he becomes the villain again,
- 54:00Speaker 2: the monster for these killing his animals. So he said,
- 54:02Speaker 2: you see that there's a soft spot and soft side
- 54:04Speaker 2: to him, but by the end he's a monster again.
- 54:06Speaker 2: I know. He loves money and power way too much
- 54:09Speaker 2: to ever become quite good. Friends, religion, these are the
- 54:12Speaker 2: three things you must eliminate if you want to have
- 54:13Speaker 2: success on the business. That's his philosophies. Yeah with it, yeah, yeah, okay,
- 54:18Speaker 2: deviate occasionally, but you know, just revert back to the
- 54:20Speaker 2: to the proper one. So I just love that he's talent.
- 54:25Speaker 2: It to children too, friends, family, religion, be happy. What's
- 54:32Speaker 2: that fun? I don't know, have fun. It's like you
- 54:35Speaker 2: were having you were having fun at the retreat. What
- 54:37Speaker 2: are we doing here? Yeah?
- 54:38Speaker 3: Yeah, just a runner back. As I said, Cuban is
- 54:40Speaker 3: going for it. He's giving a really yeah performance. It's
- 54:43Speaker 3: not quite enough that you would think Burns will look
- 54:46Speaker 3: at him and go, this guy's got the right idea,
- 54:49Speaker 3: or they just unloved lines and they're saying, wow this.
- 54:52Speaker 3: Maybe I've been going about this all wrong. Or as
- 54:55Speaker 3: I said before, at the very start, he's an old
- 54:57Speaker 3: school billionaire. It's like, oh, these news they seem to
- 55:00Speaker 3: have old the money but also have the fun. Hmmm,
- 55:03Speaker 3: maybe I could have maybe I can have.
- 55:05Speaker 2: It old Smith's Yeah, I doubt it, sir, I think so. Tim.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Anyway, let's not talk about the epist, not fix it anymore.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Let's not try to talk about the episodes we haven't
- 55:15Speaker 3: had heads. Let's talk one that's on the screen.
- 55:17Speaker 2: But the family and asked around of a base at
- 55:19Speaker 2: the breakfast time with us to serve everywhere.
- 55:21Speaker 5: Listen, Lisa, I was trying to think of a way
- 55:23Speaker 5: to help your bees, and I remembered this abandoned greenhouse.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Outside of town, which used to be a beautiful, thriving
- 55:31Speaker 1: greenhouse till I was hired to run it.
- 55:34Speaker 5: Your bees will have plenty of room in this old greenhouse.
- 55:38Speaker 5: Plus there are flowers, and it's near a prison, so
- 55:40Speaker 5: they'll have a place to sting people.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Oh mon, it's perfect. Don't live your lives. Get off
- 55:46Speaker 2: my face, my miss.
- 55:50Speaker 5: Then now you know how I'll feel when you go
- 55:52Speaker 5: to college. You'll always have Bied always, but he'll be
- 55:56Speaker 5: gone a lot repairing refrigerators.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Always a line that's not really sitting well.
- 56:02Speaker 3: And I feel little bit snobbish even back, and this
- 56:05Speaker 3: time they're talking about you know, oh they got my
- 56:06Speaker 3: dreams to call it, and you know, something about Bart
- 56:09Speaker 3: being like a fridge repairman or something.
- 56:10Speaker 2: Like Lisa says, you will always have Bart around, and
- 56:14Speaker 2: she's like, no, no, when he's about to fix people's refrigerators,
- 56:17Speaker 2: you'll always have him. I'm like, Lisa, fuck off. Yeah
- 56:19Speaker 2: that's kind of snobbish, so fuck off. But Lisa is
- 56:22Speaker 2: not a nice person anymore. No, I'm not. Just recently.
- 56:26Speaker 2: I don't think there's any nice characters on this show anymore.
- 56:29Speaker 2: Si on in this episode, they're all just horrible. Mark
- 56:31Speaker 2: even came out of it all right.
- 56:33Speaker 3: But yeah, but Lisa'll be saying that, first of all,
- 56:35Speaker 3: it's not really future proofing because I know, I think
- 56:37Speaker 3: we're going to need more fridge repair people then we
- 56:39Speaker 3: do people who have gone to college.
- 56:41Speaker 2: That is exactly right. Yeah, I've always said these days,
- 56:43Speaker 2: get a trade. I've told you about my I don't
- 56:47Speaker 2: think it a dream of being a fridge repairman. I've
- 56:52Speaker 2: told you about my buddy JP. I'm sure he won't
- 56:55Speaker 2: mind me mention this. But his son, Mac was going
- 56:58Speaker 2: to UNI studying business. Your dad yet, is your dad yet?
- 57:02Speaker 3: Mac?
- 57:02Speaker 2: Yeah? No, he's not Daddy Mack. I'm back daddy. He's
- 57:05Speaker 2: not Mack, Daddy or daddy a shany Penny to anyone
- 57:10Speaker 2: who knows, they're the names of which which hip hop
- 57:13Speaker 2: apt from the from the nineteen nineties right in, I
- 57:16Speaker 2: didn't let us know you get a Shanny Penny.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Mac was going to UNI studying business. Wasn't really into it.
- 57:24Speaker 3: And yeah, JP, to his credit, said, look, you can
- 57:27Speaker 3: finish studying this. You may get a job at some
- 57:30Speaker 3: canning firm or whatever, get a desk somewhere, get a
- 57:32Speaker 3: desk somewhere, ride that until whenever. But you know, verse
- 57:36Speaker 3: of all that kind of not that that sucks. But
- 57:38Speaker 3: I don't think it's what you want. And also I
- 57:40Speaker 3: don't think it's the way you know, the tide is
- 57:42Speaker 3: turning in terms of life and business and all that.
- 57:45Speaker 3: Now he's studying a trade. He studying carpentry, is going
- 57:47Speaker 3: to be a chippy and really enjoying. Is like, that's
- 57:50Speaker 3: a job. That's a job that you know, a is
- 57:52Speaker 3: not going to take from it in the t in
- 57:54Speaker 3: the trading town.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Yeah good. Anyway, that's that's my take on it. So, yeah,
- 57:58Speaker 2: don't be disinfrigiated. Get a trade, man, Oh absolutely, to
- 58:01Speaker 2: train to do podcasts, get a trade.
- 58:03Speaker 3: And if you want to, if you want to do
- 58:04Speaker 3: fancy book, learn and do it on your own time.
- 58:06Speaker 3: You got a whole internet full of.
- 58:07Speaker 2: Shit, exactly right. Yes, we've probably go to college. Go
- 58:09Speaker 2: to college. Oh yeah, well go to college for fun, man, Yeah,
- 58:13Speaker 2: do it for fun. Yes. So Burns has now changed
- 58:16Speaker 2: the name to the Springfield Excitement, and he tries to
- 58:18Speaker 2: sing the national anthem, but instead he sings obey your King,
- 58:21Speaker 2: which doesn't go down well, does it? Well?
- 58:23Speaker 3: No, no, although as soon as up there, our favorite
- 58:26Speaker 3: president just referred to himself as the king recently.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Did you see it?
- 58:30Speaker 3: I think he'd done something. It made some deal in
- 58:33Speaker 3: New York or something or sort of of course, I
- 58:35Speaker 3: don't think he had anything to do with it, but
- 58:37Speaker 3: he basically just sat on some social media platform that's
- 58:41Speaker 3: right on the King or something along there.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Rolling Greant Kenny's rolling around in his grave. Grant Nor
- 58:48Speaker 2: too busy hosting a ship version of Australian Really Fortune
- 58:50Speaker 2: somewhere in England. Is it even going anymore? I don't know.
- 58:53Speaker 2: I feel like it's one of those shows that it
- 58:55Speaker 2: cancels for episodes, never spoken of again. I only watched
- 58:58Speaker 2: merredithirst Side on commercial television. I watch, have You've been
- 59:01Speaker 2: paying attention? And it's not on at the moment? So
- 59:02Speaker 2: I watched none of it. Yes, I want to say
- 59:05Speaker 2: one quick thing, one little quick mini thirty seconds. I
- 59:08Speaker 2: didn't realize till yesterday Australian rules football was the rules
- 59:10Speaker 2: foot is not on channel, not on free to air
- 59:12Speaker 2: TV on Saturdays anymore. It's only on Foxtail. There was
- 59:14Speaker 2: no more Saturday games on Free Day twenty twenty five
- 59:17Speaker 2: this year. What if you want to watch football you
- 59:20Speaker 2: can only watch it on foxtown? Now, how crazy is that? Fuck?
- 59:23Speaker 2: That's not getting spoken about it enough?
- 59:24Speaker 3: I went, what this is the first I've heard about?
- 59:26Speaker 2: What about all the people who don't have Fox TYL,
- 59:28Speaker 2: they can't watch they can't watch if they have Ko
- 59:30Speaker 2: or foxtowner have to watch footy on Saturday. It's all
- 59:32Speaker 2: on Foxtail. That's crazy, isn't it fucked? I could not.
- 59:37Speaker 2: Why are people talking about this? We're talking about it,
- 59:39Speaker 2: but oh people need to be talking fucking fibergasted. That's real.
- 59:43Speaker 2: That's very disappointing because it's been promoted for ages, always
- 59:46Speaker 2: Saturday games. So the first time exclusively on Foxtale, I'm
- 59:48Speaker 2: thinking they've always had fucking they've always had every game
- 59:50Speaker 2: on Fox Style. I didn't realize they meant Channel seven.
- 59:52Speaker 2: So my uncle ned, he's he's like in his eighties
- 59:55Speaker 2: watch hasn't got Fox Style, hasn't internity's house, hasn't got
- 59:57Speaker 2: Wi Fi. He can't watch football on Saturday anymore because
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: he hasn't got Wi Fi at his house.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: He don't have to listen to it on the radio.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: It's like a cave man.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: He literally hasn't. He has no access to football on
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: a Saturday. He can't watch satdaynight foot anymore. Isn't that
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: just absurd?
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: There's more than I'm satin. It's obscene.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I hate that. I hate it. Yeah, it's
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: it's terrible. And I was furious when I heard it.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: I couldn't believe it. Listeners will know I am not
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: a footballer, but I am the son of a footballer.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: I have skin in the game. Yeah, a small, very
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: thin sliver of skin in the game. Footballs are everybody.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: It's just it's for fucking everybody now, unless you have
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: fucking access to foxtail or paper, which is incredible. Actually no,
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: I don't want to foxel. It's incredibly overpriced. Shit shit
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: costs money. And now families who can't afford foxtail. Sorry, son,
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: you can't watch you footy anymore. Isn't that fucking crazy
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: about eat ship? I'm not happy, I'm not no, I'm
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: I'm really quite disappointed. Yeah. No, Saturday afternoon game, no
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Saturday night game. Done, finished forever for next like five
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: years or something. Billionaires, fucking we tit it all back in,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: We tit it all back in. So yeah, so basically
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: things are going well. Spinners updates burns on the wars.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: He brings up the basket bells, tells him to get
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: back to the brothel, you harlots. Then he throws faux
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: gras out to the audience. They're not a huge fan
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: shoots the gorilla mass so shoots a guy dead, and
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: then everyone just leaves. And what would Cuban do? And
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: his vision of him driving off a cliff and he says,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: build a new arena. So he cut to the greenhouse
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: being smashed with the wrecking ball and the pave and
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: tart peven tart the way God intended. I thought that
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: was that's a Burns line. Sure, pave and tar the
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: way God intended.
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: The Chipman pave and toe the weak God intended.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Mister bangs, you can't do this. They can, they shall,
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: and in the future a will have done they cannot
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: be stopped. Kill his echorns and make him watch.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: It fell to me that this was basically the inciting
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: incident of the episode.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: I'm nearly finished and we're.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: Fourteen minutes into a twenty one minute episode.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just there's just this is filler, great d filler.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: The town meeting here for the Burns versus the Bees,
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Tomorrow Burns versus fresh Air. And as you're saying earlier,
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: we're not offering child care. I don't know who that
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: goes that you left the kids with funny line, and
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: it's referendum and Lisa's I'm asking you not to say
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: the bees to save your souls, and Burns actually uses
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: very good psychology here with the macmove, so basically he's
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: not saying, he's like, you know what, I guess I
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: can't do. I guess we can't have a fancy basketball stadium.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: I guess we can't have all this excitement. And everyone's like,
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: fuck that, we want we want that, so they vote
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: for Burns. Lisa then keeps the bees in a jar,
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: and I'm going, why let's go back on her face again?
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: They seemed safe on her face, it was fine. Why
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: don't we just do that? Well?
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: Yeah, even have a even have a line where you know, Lisa, oh,
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: I really really want to save to the bees. But
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: having them on their face is kind of gross.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I think, as she said, they're not strong enough
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: now to survive on their own or something whatever. But
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: she asked for a keysword bike lock and she leaves
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: most of Homer here having a bit of a random
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: O Margins, I actually wouldn't mind they do. You say.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Bartenders are like great psychologists, aren't they. Yes, where you
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: just go there and you just ran and they're just
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: paid to listen. Sure, but it costs a lot less
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: than a psychologist even been to. It depends on much
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: you' drinking. You've been to a psychologist. I've never been
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: to a psychiatrist or anything like that. I just part
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: of me just goes, you don't need it trying to
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: be a man. The other part of me, it just
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: feels like a lot of money to just talk. Sure,
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: did it work for you? It did? Well? Let's see.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: I mean well I went. I went once when my
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: marriage ended, because I like, even though I say I'm fine,
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: you need to talk with that time of someone that
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: you know, yeah, I need to check with a professional
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: that you know, those of I'm fine that I'm not
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: harboring anything that you know, I could come back and
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: bite me in the arts.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: And yeah, I said, okay, look my marriage ended. I
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: think these are the reasons I'm wondering if I'm this
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: kind of person or that.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: Kind of person. You're just moody, You're like, you're like
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: a lot of people like, okay, that's fine. So I
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: had that session and that was that. I think.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: Then years later, there's been a lot of other stuff
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: that happened in my life, and I was I was
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: very sad, and I think I dropped. I dropped like
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: twenty kilos just by nervous energy. And a good friend
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: of mine said, you need to see someone, and I
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: can recommend this person who I went to see. And
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: the good thing about Australia is, you know, we've got
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: sort of universal health care, and mental health care can
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: fall under that, you know, not ongoing, but it's like,
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: we'll get your ten sessions with someone and we'll be
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: at a cut rate. I saw this guy and we
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: talked about various things. I got a lot of stuff
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: off my chest, which you can do with your friends,
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: but sometimes you need someone. You need more than someone
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: who will just listen. You need someone who'll say, okay,
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: but yeah, this might mean this, and this might mean that,
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: and here's something you can maybe do to alleviate the
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: pain you're feeling or to work through whatever it is
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: you're dealing with. So they were really good about that.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: I didn't need to see them beyond the ten sessions
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: that I had. Once i'd sort of reached the end,
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: I'm like, you know what, I think I've got some
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: good tools to work with here. I think I've got
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: a lot of my chest I think I understand myself
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: a little bit better. It was good to have a
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: sympathetic hear and.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: You find now if you have an issue, you fall
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: back on what you learned in those sessions to some degree. Certainly.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: I mean as much as this therapist or counselor or
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: psychologist help me, a lot of it was also just
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: me working through it myself.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: So that's usually the first thing is respect that they
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: teach you how to fix yourself. Oh yeah, and I
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: know that you need to be fixed. But the tea
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: they put to help yourself, put help yourself here and
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: put process in place where you can go. All right,
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: if I'm having issues, I can fall back on these
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: to potentially help me through this.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: The other thing, I mean, you've got a lot of
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: people who will say it's not in a doctor's bit
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: in to cure you, because you know they want the
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: return business.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: I don't know. This guy helped me out a lot.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm glad I did it, and if I
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: need to do it, I'd do it again. I think
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: I think there's.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: I also recommend that if you do feel like you
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: have issues with your mental health or a little fragility
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: in that section then actually do see someone professionally and
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: not just rely on like minded people on social media
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: or whatever, because.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: I don't do that.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: I'm seeing seeing and hearing a lot of weaponization of
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: therapy speak of everything is sort of traumatic these days,
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: and a lot of it isn't a lot of it's.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Just source of big mac. What's going on here? I
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: feel personally wounded anyway. That's that's my take on it. Yeah,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: that's good. It's good to speak about serious shit sometimes
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: every once in a while. Yes, But even more seriousness
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: is how tough these bees are that mohas in the back,
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: I'd like that. That's actually one of my favorite lines
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: in the whole episode. He ordered some excited African honeys
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: and that's what he got back. So he suggests they
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: combine these bees with the African ones and create a
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: race of super bees.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: Well, apparently, you know, swarms of African bees was also
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: a big concern.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: There were a while where bees or wasp or whatever
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: coming to American You're like, what are these things? Yeah?
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: These are like killer one. They can beat us up
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: through little weights and shit. Four figure discount is brought

- 1:07:49Speaker 2: figure discount. Homer here, I'm guessing this was meant to
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: be a gay joke. So Mobus was something in his
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: ear and the response is home is like you and
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: I and he's like no, no, no, because they're all
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: the same sex or something, or with no queen whatever. Basically,
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: they're gonna have the male bees rude each other. I
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: don't know. Anyway, they put the queen in there for
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: a night of anonymous sex with multiple strangers, and then
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: it's time for the big game.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: And male points something out just quickly. I don't know
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: if this is actually where that happens, but there's a
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: music cue Sea of Love.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: Is that probably where they put the bees in with
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: the queen?
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Nice? Little in gag. This cover of the great song
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Sea of Love was done by a band called the
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: honey Drippers. There you go, nice play. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: something that I learned today. We don't have to do
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: you know. No, it's done, Yes, it's done. So now
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: time for the game, for the opening game with the
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: new arena, and Homer shows Lisa the bees. It's my way.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: So your beast died ages ago, died days ago. These
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: are angry mutant descendants. And they go to the new
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: stadium and it looks like a hive now, so they
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: let the bees out of the boxes. So I'm thinking,
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: how do they get the bees in the boxes in
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: the first place. Let's not ask questions. Ovens at the box.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: The bees fly straight towards a new arena because it
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: looks like a hive, and they start seeing everybody, including
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: bumble bee man stop by in one of you Now
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: we hate you the most. Uncle Tom apparently his name
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: is Tom, who knows? No you no the Uncle Tom? No, okay,
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: this is potentially risk learning something else. Yeah, yeah, there's
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: potentially risky, Harry, have you heard of a book called
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: Uncle Tom's Cabin?
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: No?
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: Okay, there's.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: We might want to google this because I don't want
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: to misremember it because we're dealing on walking on dicey territory. Yeah,
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: but most of the term uncle tom is when it's
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: certainly used among the black community, certainly in America, when
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: you're referring to someone who sort.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: Of sucks up to white people or is I saw
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: I needmail? Continue? Okay, some gobsmack news. Oh okay, do
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: you want to talk about Disney changing the price of
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: their Disney Plus app. It used to be nine dollars
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: ninety nine and which is now they increased it to
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: thirteen dollars. It's going from that to twenty one dollars
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: as of when as of next month, bumping it by
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: ten dollars of but nine dollars a month? Oh good
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: lord man, hit costs money? Of these are tough all over?
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Like and subscribe anyway, continue, please continue to be a patron.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: We'll make it worth your while. Look, uncle tom is
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: basically a term use.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: I think it's primarily in the black community, Black American
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: community as someone who basically cowtours sucks up to the
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: white community.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: I guess they're saying that the bumbee man is sucking
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: up to humans. Yeah, you're saying you're a bee. See
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: I don't get that joke. I'm glad to explain it.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: That makes a lot more sense now. And that's a
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: good gag in a sense that kids would just think, oh,
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: he's just their uncle Tom, but adults would go, I
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: know that actually hasn't been Yeah, it's actually quite an
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: adult joke. It is got a racy joke. Hey, we're
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: going to take back some of the bad things we
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: said about our doors wife. Stephanie Gillis is then just
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: Pandy his wife. I'll come with the show. Bring the
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: miss my wife's name. Jore fucking mad I seen Chris
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: right Burns of the Bees too, can't wait to see
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: it Slash. Oh my god, Dan, I.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: Was gonna have so much fun ended in this episode.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: Anyway. The ship's going down, such great time. I just
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: love his delivery. That Yeah, Jean Due, can't wait to
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: see it, brilliant. Will laughed, and then he turn He's like,
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: oh no, I got to step up, actually steps up.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: Chris Chris Frock no idea what was going on? It
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: was like, Wow, that would never be forgotten, but that
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: it's time announces Mike has been turned to a bees
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: and John bot Tron has been taken over with bee bloopers.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: Macmu I believe he's getting attacked by bees as well,
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: and then they shoot wig him with his own gun.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Time as a lapse. Now the stadium is now in ruins,
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: but it's now their hive that turned into their hive,
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: and Burns says that the bee keeper will want they
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: be the bee keep b But then he is holding
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: him to the beef and the bee flies off it
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: carries him with him and macmu helps him. He says,
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: still beats playing for the Clippers. Clippers one year later
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: and Burns is telling the ghost story about what happened here,
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: and they realize it's worth less than a billion dollars
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: now it's nine hundred and ninety six million and thirty
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: six thousand, and Mark Euan says, look, I can't have
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: mate underwork and do here, and they throw it's a
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: Godfather reference, yes, yes, and when he's yeh, get me
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: out the hook for all time. Sec can do it, Bones,
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: you can't do it, and they throw the hints millionaires
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: club whereas a guy who owns a minor league hockey
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: team and that's it. So overall a fine episode, as
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: you know, a bad episode, but not horrifically bad. It
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: didn't make me angry, just made me just go, what's
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: the point when you say fine and your make hand's fine.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: It's like it's just existed. I don't know why it existed.
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: This is a fine episode's fine.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: It just it was there. Yeah, this has happened, definition
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: definition of it was there? What do we learn, Bomber,
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: would you learn for the episode of Davis?
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: Uh that the Havelina is indeed the feisty pig of
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: the desert?
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: Is it really? According to a line from Lisa, I
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: believe I learned that, Uncle Tom, you learned a whole
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: bunch of things. I learned a whole bunch of things
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: this week. I learned that my Disney Plus description is
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: going up next month. But you also learn some good
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: stuff of your stuff as well. Forward your names will
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: be all right? Is the guy Davis New Name Championship
