- 1:38Speaker 3: So Netflix has been making a lot of news this
- 1:40Speaker 3: whole entire year, but uh, that was one of the questions.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Is it going to pass over one hundred dollars any
- 1:45Speaker 1: time soon? Yes?
- 1:52Speaker 3: I mean I think that's an easy target for them
- 1:54Speaker 3: to hit. But I think the fallowing of Netflix is
- 1:58Speaker 3: a canaria and the coal mine for what's to come.
- 2:02Speaker 3: But the reason why I keep telling people to double
- 2:05Speaker 3: down now because you see all the companies doing it. Troy,
- 2:08Speaker 3: you just brought up infrastructure and data centers. But even
- 2:11Speaker 3: for Paramount to come back and say, well, Larry Ellison
- 2:15Speaker 3: would personally guarantee you're okay. So when people ask what
- 2:19Speaker 3: to mote Netflix having that fight this weekend, and all
- 2:25Speaker 3: the investment that they're going to put into future content
- 2:28Speaker 3: to now become our generation's version of cable is then
- 2:31Speaker 3: building a mote in front of our face.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Will they go back to one hundred Yes?
- 2:36Speaker 3: Are we going to still see the thirty five percent
- 2:40Speaker 3: year of year games? Probably not because they eat out
- 2:43Speaker 3: fifteen to twenty percent games.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yes. Is Netflix to buy? Yes?
- 2:47Speaker 3: They are the verb in the category and probably one
- 2:52Speaker 3: of the best run companies in the media space. Like
- 2:56Speaker 3: you look at what everything Netflix has done, Disney has
- 3:01Speaker 3: dropped the ball on what they should have done. Now
- 3:04Speaker 3: there's a lot of regulatory reasons and personal vendettas inside
- 3:07Speaker 3: of why, but what they get back to one hundred?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yes, hold for the long term. You got a community, fine.
- 3:13Speaker 2: You gotta you got a whole Netflix. I mean Netflix
- 3:16Speaker 2: has come into an interesting time obviously the stock split
- 3:19Speaker 2: happens and then the potential merger. Here it's interesting because
- 3:26Speaker 2: this is their quarter, like this is the quarter where
- 3:29Speaker 2: you start to see what they're rolling now for their future. Obviously,
- 3:32Speaker 2: another fight more live sports with the NFL happening on Christmas.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Here Stranger Things is blowing out all of its expectations.
- 3:42Speaker 2: But inside of that, they got the Diddy documentary. I know,
- 3:45Speaker 2: we can say what we want, how we feel about it,
- 3:46Speaker 2: but you're talking about over three billion views for a
- 3:49Speaker 2: documentary that you didn't even expect to be on the docket.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Yep.
- 3:53Speaker 2: And so that tells you, all right, there's growth here.
- 3:57Speaker 2: People are really watching that, and people are subscribing at records,
- 4:02Speaker 2: and then you go into the iHeart deal and it's like, okay,
- 4:05Speaker 2: well that's significant because now they want to be a
- 4:08Speaker 2: part of your daily life. Right because when you watch Netflix,
- 4:11Speaker 2: you watch the show, you're done with it in the day. Well,
- 4:13Speaker 2: how can I become a part of your daily life
- 4:14Speaker 2: if I don't have sports every day?
- 4:16Speaker 1: What are people doing every day?
- 4:18Speaker 2: Well, a lot of people are listening to podcasts on
- 4:21Speaker 2: a daily basis, and if they have the video component,
- 4:23Speaker 2: you're probably watching that on a daily basis or at
- 4:26Speaker 2: some point during your week. So if I can be
- 4:28Speaker 2: part of your weekly schedule as opposed to, Hey, Stranger
- 4:32Speaker 2: Things is done, I watch it all or switch season
- 4:35Speaker 2: it's seasonal, I'm done with it. Remember when Narcos was
- 4:38Speaker 2: the thing we were, you know, we're done with that.
- 4:40Speaker 2: In a weekend, how can I become part of your
- 4:43Speaker 2: everyday ritual. If I can't do it in a lot
- 4:45Speaker 2: of sports, I'm gonna do it something that is also
- 4:46Speaker 2: entertaining you, which is podcasts, which is a huge business.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Obviously you know we're a part of that business. The
- 4:53Speaker 2: growth is there, the potential is there. This merger has
- 4:56Speaker 2: kind of curve balled it a little bit, but I
- 4:59Speaker 2: still like this long term.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I'm in. I got a few positions in Netflix. Hold
- 5:03Speaker 1: for the long term, yo.
- 5:04Speaker 3: But we've been screaming the same thing, like just hold,
- 5:07Speaker 3: be faithful to your portfolio so you can be free.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Put it in chat.
- 5:11Speaker 3: None of just three month bullshit, six months. Everything has
- 5:14Speaker 3: to be five years deep. Like everyone in tech is
- 5:17Speaker 3: playing twenty and thirty year games right now. Larry Ellison
- 5:22Speaker 3: is personally guaranteeing billions of dollars for the benefit of
- 5:25Speaker 3: his fucking son, and people are worried about a three
- 5:27Speaker 3: month on hold. I've been telling you this beginning hold
- 5:30Speaker 3: for five years. Stay inside because a lot of y'all
- 5:32Speaker 3: who popping it on the gram. You're hurting right now.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Derek just told you I can see who living through
- 5:40Speaker 3: the business. You got lifestyle businesses and then aggress what
- 5:44Speaker 3: they keep raising the prices on everything.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that lifestyle games.
- 5:49Speaker 2: So Larry Elson thing is, I mean we've been talking
- 5:51Speaker 2: about him for a year now in terms of the
- 5:54Speaker 2: moves that he's making obviously from Stargate.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Uh. And then with.
- 5:58Speaker 2: TikTok TikTok, like all the news with the paramount potential
- 6:03Speaker 2: merger with Warner Brothers. You know, they got approved and
- 6:06Speaker 2: now they got fifty percent ownership and TikTok, which you
- 6:09Speaker 2: know I kind of said like if you look at
- 6:11Speaker 2: who's doing the cloud server for TikTok, it was Oracle
- 6:13Speaker 2: in twenty twenty, they got that deal, they were going
- 6:15Speaker 2: to be the leader to be an investment. But him saying, look,
- 6:19Speaker 2: I'm putting forty billion up guaranteed. It's interesting because two
- 6:22Speaker 2: weeks ago when the CFO of Netflix was on he
- 6:25Speaker 2: said that that was not part of the deal. Two
- 6:27Speaker 2: weeks later now they got a personal guarantee for forty billion,
- 6:30Speaker 2: which tell you how important to them having that network
- 6:34Speaker 2: is in terms of spreading the messages that they want,
- 6:37Speaker 2: have a control of the messages that they want, and
- 6:40Speaker 2: having media. So one thing that the ELSN group and
- 6:44Speaker 2: I say group because David is the son at the
- 6:46Speaker 2: head of Scott Dance. In Paramount, Larry's obviously the dad
- 6:49Speaker 2: in the head of Oracle. They don't have a media
- 6:52Speaker 2: arm the way that they want to, right, And I
- 6:54Speaker 2: told during that class, look, Paramount does not make money.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Scott Dance does make some money, but now enough to
- 7:00Speaker 2: have this merger. Where were they going to get the
- 7:02Speaker 2: back end? Dad said, look, I know I'm worth two
- 7:05Speaker 2: hundred and fifty. He's forty guaranteed. I put a full
- 7:08Speaker 2: cast deal, all cast deal.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Because in the next election, if you can go back
- 7:15Speaker 3: into that White House and say well I can get
- 7:17Speaker 3: you thirty six more million viewers per month, datall secure
- 7:21Speaker 3: the financing that you need for the other ventures to go.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Well, this is war games, that's all.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Like the tone that you see, it's like it is
- 7:28Speaker 3: not time to play at all. Notice and the people
- 7:32Speaker 3: who sold off their companies in the last few years.
- 7:35Speaker 1: The UFC selling was interesting.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Then Dana ended up in the White House and on
- 7:40Speaker 3: the border meta Meta's involvement in the White House, Vince
- 7:44Speaker 3: McMahon walking away, but then they cut his legs from
- 7:47Speaker 3: underneath him and told every little secret.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That was the first ditty doc to lower the evaluation. Please.
- 7:53Speaker 3: I am begging you because you don't know when we're
- 7:55Speaker 3: going in the show, cause one day he's gonna pop up.
- 7:58Speaker 3: I'm like, it's been fun deploy capital into the best
- 8:02Speaker 3: assets on earth.
- 8:04Speaker 2: This episode is brought to you by P and C Bank.
