- 0:00Speaker 1: One six point seven light FM Cubby Christine producer Kristin
- 0:04Speaker 1: on this Bryant Park Thursday, Broadway of Ryan Park, kicking
- 0:08Speaker 1: off in about six hours. So as a favorite of
- 0:12Speaker 1: my family, you know how you packed before a trip. Yeah,
- 0:15Speaker 1: you want to get ahead of the schedule, start packing
- 0:17Speaker 1: early like we did for Tyler.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Yeah you did.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Should I just start cleaning out the house for
- 0:22Speaker 1: my death?
- 0:23Speaker 2: It's just going to do the sweetish death cleans? Is
- 0:26Speaker 2: that what it's called?
- 0:27Speaker 1: Look, Christine, I hope I have a good forty years left. Yeah,
- 0:30Speaker 1: but apparently it's better to declutter now.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Do it now, because yes.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Who knows. My kids don't want to deal with all
- 0:37Speaker 1: lar junk.
- 0:37Speaker 2: They don't like so professional organizers are really into this
- 0:40Speaker 2: in a big way, Kubby, and they're saying, your kids
- 0:42Speaker 2: don't want your stuff.
- 0:44Speaker 1: You know.
- 0:46Speaker 2: A lot of people are like, I'm saving this for you,
- 0:48Speaker 2: and they have kind of bizarre collections. They don't want it.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Maybe some of the stuff though.
- 0:53Speaker 2: That Nah, Listen. I've talked to my niece and my nephews.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I have stuff that I think is really cool, like
- 0:59Speaker 2: from my parents. It's like dating back to the nineteen fifties,
- 1:01Speaker 2: these beautiful Christmas ornaments, all this stuff. They don't want it. Wow,
- 1:05Speaker 2: they just plan on don't want it. They don't want stuff.
- 1:07Speaker 2: They're minimalless.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Which is great for them, great for them yet, but
- 1:11Speaker 2: not so good for us because for those of us
- 1:13Speaker 2: who were like put sentimental value, we should get rid
- 1:17Speaker 2: of it sooner rather than later. Forty five percent of
- 1:19Speaker 2: us feel like we are running out of space in
- 1:22Speaker 2: our home. Sixty five percent of us are frustrated because
- 1:24Speaker 2: our stuff is not organized.
- 1:26Speaker 1: That's with us, and let's go.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Even higher, yeah, ninety nine percent. So yeah, we're actually
- 1:32Speaker 2: we're finding that kids are annoyed by having to clean
- 1:37Speaker 2: out a relative's house or their parents' house.
- 1:40Speaker 1: One thing I will say, My dad is ninety five,
- 1:42Speaker 1: and about two years ago we downsized him from his
- 1:45Speaker 1: town home to an independent living place. And you're right,
- 1:48Speaker 1: there are a lot of things we did not want. Yeah,
- 1:51Speaker 1: but he also gave me like something I had to
- 1:53Speaker 1: take care of for him. That's worth a lot. He
- 1:55Speaker 1: has like three hundred autographed baseballs WHOA over the years, Yes,
- 2:02Speaker 1: and they're in a case. And he gave those to
- 2:04Speaker 1: me early, and I have them in our home and
- 2:07Speaker 1: I have a blanket over them. I'm I'm not even
- 2:10Speaker 1: showcasing them. Yeah, yeah, I really have no room to
- 2:12Speaker 1: showcase them.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I want to keep them away from the sun, right
- 2:15Speaker 1: and make sure they're taking care of for years to come,
- 2:17Speaker 1: so they could be very valuable, valuable things. I'll take
- 2:21Speaker 1: care of them all you want, right, But yeah, some
- 2:24Speaker 1: things you don't want.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah, because people are saying, like some of the weird
- 2:27Speaker 2: stuff they've inherited. Somebody inherited a Belle of Cottons signed
- 2:30Speaker 2: by John Wayne.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Well, why that sounds actually that could be worth something.
- 2:35Speaker 2: It sounds like it could. I mean, yeah, if you
- 2:37Speaker 2: find John Wayne collectors, right, you got to find the
- 2:39Speaker 2: right collectors. A pure gold butter knife Roman artifacts from
- 2:44Speaker 2: three hundred a d okay, somebody was collecting A jacket
- 2:48Speaker 2: from a well known nineteen seventies country music outlaw. A giant,
- 2:52Speaker 2: garage sized painting of a dog. Yeah, sometimes the artwork.
- 2:56Speaker 2: A pair of lamps in the shape of legs, a
- 2:58Speaker 2: clear glass donkey that doubles as a beer mug, marionettes
- 3:02Speaker 2: from the eighteen hundreds made of clamshell paper and antique
- 3:05Speaker 2: dentist chair, and a statue of Abraham Lincoln. These were
- 3:09Speaker 2: just some of the examples that were cited.
- 3:11Speaker 1: This is the best estate sale ever.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Uh.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it leads me to the question, Actually, we'll throw
- 3:16Speaker 1: it out there. Four four to three sixty three. Give
- 3:18Speaker 1: us a text if you've inherited anything from your parents
- 3:22Speaker 1: that maybe you're kind of like proud of, or maybe
- 3:25Speaker 1: you're maybe laughing at inside, but you're holding onto it.
- 3:28Speaker 2: The weirdest thing. Four four three sixty three. We did
- 3:31Speaker 2: already get one text from nine to seven three. I
- 3:33Speaker 2: gave my forty year old son my mom's silver plate
- 3:35Speaker 2: flatwear and he got rid of it.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Oh that's mean.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Well I know that that it had to hurt. But
- 3:42Speaker 2: they don't want it. I'm telling you because that's probably
- 3:45Speaker 2: like the age of my niece and my nephew's right,
- 3:48Speaker 2: they're not into that stuff at all.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Four four three six three. Hit us up, all right,
- 3:52Speaker 1: what do you have coming up in the news, Christine,
- 3:53Speaker 1: let's
- 3:54Speaker 2: Check out the headlines and guys, if you want a date,
- 3:56Speaker 2: will it help you to pose with your cat
