Latest / The Next Round / The Next Round: Georgia Stuns Alabama, Controversial No-Call Sparks Outrage & Arch Manning Struggles | Hour 1
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: I mean, a couple of teams, we've got to start
- 0:02Speaker 1: putting some respect on their name, I guess. Kentucky and UCLA,
- 0:05Speaker 1: we'll get to them. Rams have a game tonight. We'll
- 0:08Speaker 1: talk some NFL after a disappointing loss last night for
- 0:12Speaker 1: the Falcons. But we start, of course, with the game
- 0:16Speaker 1: of the weekend. Number two, now number one, Georgia against
- 0:21Speaker 1: number six, Alabama. And you can't get too far into
- 0:24Speaker 1: this Georgia win, 20-17. Without two things. One of them,
- 0:30Speaker 1: Georgia fumbled the ball five times and got every one
- 0:34Speaker 1: of them back, which is odd with a ball that's
- 0:38Speaker 1: not round. And then the no call on the pass interference.
- 0:43Speaker 1: So let's go around the table first. This is the
- 0:45Speaker 1: next round brought to you by our friends at Hard
- 0:47Speaker 1: Rock Bet. Um, on the no call. Now you're familiar
- 0:50Speaker 1: with this. I think the Saints and Rams had a
- 0:52Speaker 1: pretty controversial. It's, it's the.
- 0:54Speaker 2: First and only thing I could think of because when
- 0:56Speaker 2: you went back and you saw all of the different
- 0:58Speaker 2: angles we had and for anybody that said that wasn't catchable,
- 1:01Speaker 2: hit him in the leg. Um, I couldn't believe the
- 1:06Speaker 2: no call, like in that situation. And I will say
- 1:09Speaker 2: this because I said the one thing I don't necessarily
- 1:11Speaker 2: miss about our radio days is it would be the
- 1:13Speaker 2: same call after the same call on a day like
- 1:15Speaker 2: today because of that missed call and where we originate from.
- 1:19Speaker 2: With all of that said, this thing at least would
- 1:22Speaker 2: have gone to overtime. Whether they would have won the
- 1:24Speaker 2: game or not, I don't know. Georgia's defense did come
- 1:27Speaker 2: to play in the second half. They gave up three
- 1:28Speaker 2: points in the second half. They were running the football effectively.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Some debate on where the ball would have been placed.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Where I was sitting, I thought it would be first
- 1:35Speaker 2: and goal at the two-yard line. I thought it was
- 1:37Speaker 2: pass interference in the end zone. Yeah, that's where it
- 1:39Speaker 2: should have been. So, I mean, there's a good chance
- 1:41Speaker 2: they scored a touchdown. I'm just saying, worst case, if
- 1:43Speaker 2: you get the call that should have happened... it goes
- 1:46Speaker 2: to overtime. So that's really, really frustrating. The thing I
- 1:49Speaker 2: would take away as an Alabama fan, to me, along
- 1:52Speaker 2: with Ohio State and probably Notre Dame, those are the
- 1:54Speaker 2: two best teams in college football.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree. I agree. I think you leave that
- 1:57Speaker 1: game feeling like you're among the best teams in college football.
- 2:01Speaker 1: To your point, I mean, you were at the game,
- 2:04Speaker 1: the play you didn't see, where I'm like, oh, this
- 2:06Speaker 1: is Georgia's night. I don't know if they showed the
- 2:08Speaker 1: same replay on the board at Bryant-Denny, but I know
- 2:11Speaker 1: Lance saw it. There's a throw, Jim, that Gunnar Stockton
- 2:16Speaker 1: makes who is tremendous. First of all, Gunnar Stockton, I
- 2:18Speaker 1: don't want to go too deep without saying how tremendous
- 2:20Speaker 1: he was. Nine of ten on third down. Fantastic. And
- 2:23Speaker 1: those were hard throws. Alabama had good coverage.
- 2:26Speaker 2: That was the most accurate I have seen a college
- 2:28Speaker 2: quarterback maybe since Danny Werfel.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I'm not kidding. On those third down throws. Just tremendous.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Are you talking about the one that went right over?
- 2:34Speaker 1: It hits Xavier Griffin's fingers, which makes the ball wobble
- 2:39Speaker 1: to the point that it hits Zabian Brown's shoulder pad.
- 2:43Speaker 1: who is blanketing the receiver, and off his shoulder pads
- 2:47Speaker 1: goes right in the receiver's hands. Oh, wow. I never
- 2:49Speaker 1: saw that. Yeah, you never saw it. Right on the side.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I think it was a third down, if I'm not mistaken.
- 2:53Speaker 3: It was.
- 2:53Speaker 1: All these words. Yeah, right on the Bama sidelines. I mean,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I'm like, guys, this is George. I mean, Alabama is
- 2:59Speaker 1: going to have to play out of their mind to
- 3:00Speaker 1: win this game because this is George's night. I mean, now... Again,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I want to say Stockton was phenomenal. I'm not saying
- 3:07Speaker 1: it was lucky. That play right there, though, just showed
- 3:09Speaker 1: you how it was their night.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I've kind of jokingly said that Stockton is Stetson Bennett light.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Because Stetson Bennett, say what you want, was a tremendous
- 3:18Speaker 2: elite quarterback by the time he left college football. I
- 3:21Speaker 2: think Gunnar Stockton might be better.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I mean, it's close.
- 3:25Speaker 2: You can't really go there yet because Stetson won back-to-back
- 3:28Speaker 2: national championships.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But, I mean, Gunnar, the big moment just does not
- 3:31Speaker 1: bother that kid at all. It was pretty obvious to
- 3:35Speaker 1: me that when they had to target somebody in the secondary,
- 3:39Speaker 1: number five has become the target. Well, there's no doubt.
- 3:43Speaker 1: You threw away from Zabian Brown. And you throw at
- 3:48Speaker 1: number five because Dijon Lee has trouble in coverage. I mean,
- 3:51Speaker 1: that's just the only way. Panicked one time and grabbed
- 3:54Speaker 1: the guy for a bad pass interference. Calls to pass interference.
- 3:56Speaker 1: That was a pass interference, by the way. It was
- 3:58Speaker 1: absolutely the right call. Easy call. Easy call.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I tell you, it had to have been a rough weekend.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Not only, you know, on the field, but after the
- 4:06Speaker 2: game for Dijon Lee. That's tough. And then I heard
- 4:10Speaker 2: that a lot of people were coming after him. Shut
- 4:13Speaker 2: his social medias down.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Yeah, probably a good idea to shut his. Listen, that.
- 4:17Speaker 1: That end of the game thing didn't bother me as
- 4:20Speaker 1: bad as some of his coverage. I get it. But
- 4:23Speaker 1: the end of the game thing. The end of the
- 4:24Speaker 1: game thing doesn't happen until. You just got to situationally.
- 4:27Speaker 2: If you're down 14, you're up 14, you want to
- 4:29Speaker 2: pop him, go ahead and get flagged. But in that situation,
- 4:32Speaker 2: knowing any kind of response like that is ballgame.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. But I have a. I really think
- 4:40Speaker 1: that should be officiated differently. Well, that's almost what you
- 4:44Speaker 1: could go back for review. Yeah, I think review would
- 4:46Speaker 1: help players like that. It's got to be officiated differently
- 4:48Speaker 1: because I just don't believe because any other point in
- 4:52Speaker 1: the game or any time in the game, they'll flag
- 4:57Speaker 1: somebody for making a tackle and standing over them for
- 5:00Speaker 1: a second. They flag people for unsportsmanlike conduct. After a
- 5:04Speaker 1: play is over with, if another player is sitting there
- 5:06Speaker 1: chirping you up there, and then you do little handsy things,
- 5:11Speaker 1: and then you push him into the face mask, there
- 5:13Speaker 1: should be a little offsetting there. And I really, inside
- 5:16Speaker 1: the stadium, and this is too inside baseball, but I
- 5:19Speaker 1: was telling everybody in my section, you're about to get
- 5:22Speaker 1: a make-up call from the guy with the B on
- 5:24Speaker 1: the back of his jersey that didn't throw a flag
- 5:26Speaker 1: in the end zone because he's coming in to the
- 5:28Speaker 1: guy who just called unsportsmanlike. I thought he was going
- 5:30Speaker 1: to come in and tell him, hey, the other guy
- 5:33Speaker 1: pushed him first. It's got to be offsetting here. I
- 5:36Speaker 1: thought that was what was about to happen. They didn't
- 5:38Speaker 1: do the make-up call. I don't know what to do
- 5:40Speaker 1: with that situation. Again, D.
- 5:41Speaker 2: John Lee's got to be smart enough, and he's got
- 5:43Speaker 2: to keep a calm head. Speaking of calm head, I
- 5:46Speaker 2: like this from DeBoer. I know there are some people
- 5:47Speaker 2: that are upset with this. I don't understand why. I
- 5:50Speaker 2: like the emotion. I think maybe the pressure.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Wait, wait, wait. Where is he getting criticized first? Oh,
- 5:54Speaker 1: on social media. About what? About what? About blowing up.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Specifically saying, you cost us the damn game. Yeah. Does
- 6:01Speaker 1: anybody have ESPN? How deep into the Saban documentary are
- 6:05Speaker 1: you guys? I'm three episodes in, and it's terrific. Oh,
- 6:08Speaker 1: it's fantastic. I don't know if he'd use those exact words.
- 6:13Speaker 1: It probably would have been more fierce than that. Yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 1: it is a little pointed.
- 6:17Speaker 4: It is.
- 6:18Speaker 1: You are the one that cost us the game. I
- 6:20Speaker 1: watched the game.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I know.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I felt like maybe he finally did cost him the game.
- 6:23Speaker 1: He was very, very involved in the final outcome. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: don't know that Kalen DeBoer was only referencing that one play.
- 6:29Speaker 1: That's exactly right. I think there was probably some pent-up
- 6:31Speaker 1: in there.
- 6:31Speaker 2: You guys know I watched Kalen DeBoer from Fresno to Washington. Demonstrative,
- 6:34Speaker 2: I never saw. Saw a little bit the first year,
- 6:37Speaker 2: a little bit more last year, and then in those
- 6:40Speaker 2: final couple of minutes, I've never seen him like that.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with it. I think it
- 6:43Speaker 2: just shows you– This is a bigger job. The circumstances,
- 6:48Speaker 2: situations are bigger in these games.
- 6:50Speaker 1: There's zero doubt. And he was already frustrated with not
- 6:52Speaker 1: getting the pass interference. I mean, he lost his mind
- 6:54Speaker 1: on that, as he should have. And then, so you're
- 6:58Speaker 1: already pissed. And you know when you're already pissed and
- 7:00Speaker 1: something happens that pisses you off, you probably get triple
- 7:03Speaker 1: pissed at that point, right? So I think he was
- 7:05Speaker 1: probably triple pissed, Kalen DeBoer. All I would say is,
- 7:09Speaker 1: does Dijon Lee show up for that NIL check every week?
- 7:11Speaker 1: Do you guys know? I mean, I assume that check's
- 7:13Speaker 1: still coming. I'm pretty sure. And I think that runs
- 7:15Speaker 1: anywhere between about $ 750, 000 to $ 1. 2 million. That's a little
- 7:19Speaker 1: too much for him, in my opinion. But whatever you're
- 7:21Speaker 1: paying him, you're paying him. And if you're going to
- 7:24Speaker 1: keep showing up for that check, you're going to get
- 7:25Speaker 1: treated like a professional athlete. And I don't know about
- 7:28Speaker 1: you guys. We watch a lot of NFL. If that
- 7:30Speaker 1: same thing happens in that same exact situation, giving a
- 7:33Speaker 1: team a first down... That guy gets undressed by his coach. Yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And he probably gets fined. Well, and there are certain
- 7:38Speaker 1: guys that will be caught.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I mean, depending on– I mean, we saw somebody cut
- 7:41Speaker 2: for dropping the ball early a couple of years ago, right?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Tyler, I apologize. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I
- 7:46Speaker 1: apologize for doing this because I gave Tyler 18 cuts
- 7:49Speaker 1: to go first. So let's erase any of that. None
- 7:51Speaker 1: of those are going. Give me cut 20 first because
- 7:54Speaker 1: I didn't know people were pissed off at Kalen DeBoer.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I saw some of this, yeah. Because of him getting
- 7:59Speaker 1: mad at No. 5? Not necessarily mad. What they're most
- 8:02Speaker 1: upset about, the people that are upset, and I'm not
- 8:04Speaker 1: going to say it's the majority of people, but you
- 8:06Speaker 1: know how social media is. I think Clay puts it well.
- 8:10Speaker 1: We give way too much credit for what's said on
- 8:12Speaker 1: social media because it is a bit of an echo chamber,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and it's a very small percentage of America. And we
- 8:17Speaker 1: don't know if it's real Alabama fans or if it's
- 8:19Speaker 1: a Russian bot. No, this is not Alabama fans. Alabama
- 8:20Speaker 1: fans actually liked it, I think, because he's showing some fire.
- 8:23Speaker 1: And to your point, Alabama fans are like, That's exactly
- 8:26Speaker 1: what Nick Saban would have done. He would have undressed
- 8:28Speaker 1: the kid, and Nick Saban would have. But real quick,
- 8:31Speaker 1: I think what the criticism is, not that he got
- 8:33Speaker 1: pissed at him, that he used the words, you just
- 8:36Speaker 1: cost us the damn game. It was so pointed. Well,
- 8:38Speaker 1: I mean, you didn't cost us the game, but you
- 8:42Speaker 1: cost us a chance to win the game because now
- 8:44Speaker 1: it's time to head to the parking lot. If you
- 8:47Speaker 1: think that was bad, imagine being in the other locker
- 8:50Speaker 1: room and being called an MF, a dumb MF-er. Because
- 8:53Speaker 1: that's what Kirby Smart called Dijon Lee. Listen in. Listen
- 8:58Speaker 1: to me, guys. There's a reason why on the team
- 9:00Speaker 1: meetings every f * * * ing.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Week, I show some dumb m * * * er.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Swinging and hitting somebody.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Because I always.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Don't want it to be you.
- 9:06Speaker 3: He swung and hit Craig twice. And Craig smiled at him.
- 9:09Speaker 3: And we needed a first down to win the game.
- 9:11Speaker 3: And we didn't have to do s * * *
- 9:12Speaker 3: to get it. Undisciplined m * * * er. will
- 9:15Speaker 3: cost your ass. And that was what we want with this,
- 9:17Speaker 3: you guys. You should be proud of yourself. You're the
- 9:19Speaker 3: first team in 100 years to win in this bitch.
- 9:22Speaker 3: I got my first win up in this bitch.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Kirby Smart, allegedly, inside his locker room. That's him. You know,
- 9:34Speaker 1: it had to mean a lot for Kirby. But first,
- 9:36Speaker 1: I mean, that's him reacting to what D. John Lee did. Well,
- 9:38Speaker 1: but keep in mind now, his own player did the
- 9:40Speaker 1: same exact, well, not the same exact thing, but got
- 9:42Speaker 1: a personal foul at the end. You remember last year
- 9:44Speaker 1: at the end of the game in Tuscaloosa. That could
- 9:47Speaker 1: have flipped.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I mean, Craig Dainbridge could have been the guy that
- 9:50Speaker 2: got called initially, you know, and that could have gone backwards.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Yeah, now it's 15 yards back the other way. I
- 9:55Speaker 1: think it was second and two, second and three. Yeah.
- 9:58Speaker 1: So you're looking at second and 18 where you have
- 9:59Speaker 1: to run the ball. You can't throw it there.
- 10:01Speaker 2: And then you're going to end up punting and maybe
- 10:02Speaker 2: Alabama gets the ball and run 40 and they've got
- 10:04Speaker 2: an opportunity. Yeah.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Alabama fans aren't mad at Kalen for how he reacted
- 10:09Speaker 1: post-game when he was asked about the pass interference. I mean,
- 10:12Speaker 1: you either take the fine or you do what he did,
- 10:14Speaker 1: and he decided not to take the fine. I thought
- 10:16Speaker 1: he did it the right way. It's not going to
- 10:17Speaker 1: change anything. I was taught. I was taught. And I
- 10:18Speaker 1: know you guys, when you played, were taught the same thing.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Sometimes you have to overcome bad calls, right? You've got
- 10:23Speaker 1: to overcome bad calls. There are going to be bad calls.
- 10:27Speaker 1: You've got to overcome them. It was still third and
- 10:29Speaker 1: nine in field goal range. And I actually, and listen
- 10:33Speaker 1: to me here, I didn't like the sack, and I
- 10:35Speaker 1: hate it knocked Alabama out of field goal range. But
- 10:39Speaker 1: I like the fact that they didn't run it off
- 10:42Speaker 1: tackle and put it on Connor Talty on a wet,
- 10:46Speaker 1: windy night, having to hit a long field goal to
- 10:49Speaker 1: tie it up in that pressure. I admire the Alabama
- 10:51Speaker 1: coaching staff for being aggressive on third and ninth, and
- 10:55Speaker 1: not doing what we saw Ryan Day do a couple
- 10:57Speaker 1: of times and other coaches, it would have been real
- 10:59Speaker 1: easy as a coach to say, we're right on that line,
- 11:02Speaker 1: that green line on the TV screen. Let's hand it off, tackle,
- 11:05Speaker 1: pick up two yards, and Connor, go out there and
- 11:07Speaker 1: tie the game up for us, boy. I don't think
- 11:09Speaker 1: you could because Keelan is so good. I can't even imagine.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I think there would be more outcry today if they
- 11:13Speaker 2: would have done that and Talty misses the kick.
- 11:15Speaker 3: No doubt.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Because you go back, Russell made– A play I don't
- 11:19Speaker 2: think we ever see on the first down going down
- 11:22Speaker 2: to that drive where he scrambles around.
- 11:24Speaker 1: And then the throw he's able to make. I'm like,
- 11:26Speaker 1: how in the hell did he do that? The throw
- 11:27Speaker 1: to Derek Meadows. That was absolutely incredible. That was a
- 11:31Speaker 1: magic trick to get out of that. That's one of those, if.
- 11:34Speaker 2: You were to win a Heisman, that is on that
- 11:35Speaker 2: clip that they play because that was just an incredible play.
- 11:38Speaker 2: So I agree with you. You can't take it out
- 11:41Speaker 2: of his hands. Now, in retrospect, it looks bad because
- 11:43Speaker 2: you get sacked and you're out of field goal range.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You got a punt. But a lot of coaches would like.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I'm just going to hand it off here, and let's
- 11:49Speaker 1: kick that long field goal. Ryan Day against Georgia.
- 11:51Speaker 2: That same scenario tonight, McVay handed to Kyron Williams or
- 11:54Speaker 2: Blake Warren.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Take the field goal. Let's get out of there. Let's
- 11:57Speaker 1: bring the fat ass out. Is he consistent enough? No,
- 12:00Speaker 1: he's not. That's what I'm saying. He's got the better kicker.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Talty's hitting nothing but the string in the middle on everything.
- 12:07Speaker 1: He's as good as he's ever been. Okay, cut three.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Back to this, Tyler. Our show being brought to you
- 12:11Speaker 1: by our friends, and I probably should do a sponsorship.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Let's do that, yeah. I get so caught up in
- 12:15Speaker 1: the emotions. And I'll be honest. I will sit here
- 12:17Speaker 1: and tell you you've got to overcome bad calls and everything.
- 12:20Speaker 1: It took me. I watched the game. I watched the
- 12:23Speaker 1: game in its entirety when I got home. In its
- 12:27Speaker 1: entirety when I got home. I got up in the morning.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I watched SEC Now and everything. And I read everything
- 12:33Speaker 1: to see how the country was taking it. I went
- 12:35Speaker 1: to church, prayed for a little ease in my heart
- 12:39Speaker 1: and mind, went home and watched it again in its entirety.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I was just looking for pain. And Maggie's like, what
- 12:43Speaker 1: are you doing? And I said, it's the only way
- 12:45Speaker 1: to get over it. She goes, the outcome is not–
- 12:48Speaker 1: I hear you screaming on the second rewatch. And I
- 12:51Speaker 1: was like, I'm seeing some things for the first time.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I did that one time in my life, 2002 NFC
- 12:56Speaker 2: Divisional game where Steve Smith walked it off against the Rams.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I kept going back and forth. And I said, I
- 13:00Speaker 2: will never punish myself like that again. So bad losses,
- 13:04Speaker 2: I don't go back and watch.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Can I just say, it is 1,000% pass interference in
- 13:09Speaker 1: any situation. 100%. It's pass interference no matter what. I've
- 13:14Speaker 1: gotten some clarification. Would not have been first and goal
- 13:16Speaker 1: at the two, if you would like for me to
- 13:17Speaker 1: clarify that right now before we get too far. They
- 13:19Speaker 1: wouldn't have said it was in the inside. No, no, no, no.
- 13:21Speaker 1: The way the college rule works. So I've got Steve Shaw,
- 13:24Speaker 1: the former ESPN analyst now and former national director of
- 13:29Speaker 1: officials said Because the ball was snapped from the plus 34,
- 13:33Speaker 1: it would be 15 yards from the previous spot. So
- 13:35Speaker 1: first and 10 from the 19. Yeah. Which actually might
- 13:38Speaker 1: have helped Alabama a little bit there because now you
- 13:40Speaker 1: can burn more clock. Burn that clock, yeah. But he
- 13:42Speaker 1: says defensive pass interference is a 15-yard penalty from the
- 13:45Speaker 1: previous spot. If the ball is snapped inside the 17
- 13:49Speaker 1: to just outside the 2, that's the only time it
- 13:51Speaker 1: ever gets spotted at the 2. I never knew that.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I never knew that. I never knew that. So if
- 13:54Speaker 1: you snap outside the 17, it's only a 15-yard penalty.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Okay.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Okay. I will say this before we do post-game sound here,
- 14:00Speaker 1: and I'll tell you about Hard Rock Bet. I had
- 14:03Speaker 1: one more addendum, though. Go ahead. I miss Steve Shaw
- 14:06Speaker 1: being in charge of SEC officials. I thought the quality
- 14:09Speaker 1: of officiating went down a little bit when Steve went national,
- 14:14Speaker 1: and there's been a lot of retirements, and a lot
- 14:16Speaker 1: of people don't want to get into officiating. So I
- 14:19Speaker 1: know that I still believe the SEC officials are the
- 14:22Speaker 1: best in the country, but I don't know if the
- 14:26Speaker 1: level of officiating is where it used to be. Yeah.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And that's and that's because I believe that fewer people
- 14:31Speaker 1: want to go into officiating because of the world we
- 14:34Speaker 1: live in.
- 14:34Speaker 2: It's a tough job, but that is an easy call.
- 14:37Speaker 2: You know, you can call pass interference or holding on
- 14:39Speaker 2: every call.
- 14:40Speaker 1: We know that.
- 14:40Speaker 2: But when you have like the extension of the arms
- 14:43Speaker 2: like that visibly in that circumstance, you absolutely.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I love me some Matt Austin, too. he was not
- 14:50Speaker 1: helping the officiating profession in the broadcast. He was not.
- 14:53Speaker 1: My gosh. How is he not decisive on that call?
- 14:55Speaker 2: I know.
- 14:56Speaker 1: He's like, well, I didn't see this angle where there
- 14:57Speaker 1: was contact. I'm like, well, you didn't need that angle
- 14:59Speaker 1: to see contact, buddy. I was watching in the stadium. Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Everybody saw the contact. And you heard Fowler and Herbstreet
- 15:05Speaker 1: basically challenge. I mean, your own play-by-play guy said it
- 15:10Speaker 1: so much that they put the flag graphic up, which
- 15:12Speaker 1: a flag was never thrown up. Confirm that. You were there.
- 15:14Speaker 1: You saw it. No flag was ever thrown up. No
- 15:15Speaker 1: flag ever came out. A lot of people, because the
- 15:17Speaker 1: flag graphic came up, thought they– threw a flag and
- 15:20Speaker 1: picked it up. They did not. No flag was ever thrown. Now,
- 15:22Speaker 1: let me say this, and this is not going to
- 15:23Speaker 1: be popular on this show, in the chat, probably with
- 15:26Speaker 1: you either. If I had skin in the game, I
- 15:30Speaker 1: would have wanted Del Gotti called for holding on the
- 15:33Speaker 1: touchdown throw to Pritchett. So, I mean, those things can
- 15:36Speaker 1: cut both ways. That was a hold. They can, but
- 15:39Speaker 1: the holding, like I'm not even upset. I'm not even
- 15:43Speaker 1: upset on the Crowell face mask. Yeah, apparently the ref
- 15:47Speaker 1: was shielded. It seems obvious when the helmet pops off.
- 15:49Speaker 1: That's right. How you can have six camera angles and
- 15:52Speaker 1: the official can't see it. I didn't like how Matt
- 15:54Speaker 1: Austin says there's only one guy looking for that there.
- 15:57Speaker 1: If he gets blocked, how come we're all not looking
- 15:58Speaker 1: for that? Did you think it was an egregious hold
- 16:00Speaker 1: where Georgia got... Their run pulled back? The first score? Yeah.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you've got your hand inside the shirt. Yes,
- 16:07Speaker 1: that was. And that was the one guy who was
- 16:09Speaker 1: setting the edge. Yeah. I mean, it's Yonce Pierre. I've
- 16:12Speaker 1: got a good feel he can string that play out.
- 16:14Speaker 1: He's got his hand in the jersey. Now, the targeting
- 16:17Speaker 1: one on the no call on Ryan Coleman Williams, how
- 16:20Speaker 1: do you all feel about that? That was– I mean,
- 16:24Speaker 1: I don't understand what targeting is if that's not it.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I agree with you. Because that guy came in, launched,
- 16:30Speaker 1: head lowered, and it was helmet to helmet. Wait, they
- 16:33Speaker 1: didn't even review that, though, did they? Well, they didn't
- 16:35Speaker 1: have an official review, but they had the injury, commercial break.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And so looked at it and break. So where the
- 16:40Speaker 1: people in Birmingham are watching it, and I don't understand
- 16:43Speaker 1: how that's not targeting. I don't know why. Yeah, no,
- 16:47Speaker 1: that was targeting. What is targeting? What isn't targeting? We
- 16:50Speaker 1: do that all the time. He's lowered head, it goes
- 16:51Speaker 1: right now. It's one of those where... And it was
- 16:53Speaker 1: the crown. He's definitely defenseless.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 1: You know, the, the strike zone is getting lowered by
- 16:58Speaker 1: Ryan Williams and my war, Ryan Coleman Williams in my world,
- 17:00Speaker 1: that would not have been an ejection, but it would
- 17:02Speaker 1: have been a 15 yard penalty. I think that's the
- 17:03Speaker 1: way that should be. That's all Alabama fans. Oh, all
- 17:06Speaker 1: they wanted was 15 yard penalty to care less about
- 17:08Speaker 1: the ejection. And how about, you know, we're throwing a
- 17:10Speaker 1: lot of stuff at you real quick. Uh, Ryan Coleman Williams, uh, listen,
- 17:15Speaker 1: the guy, the guy gives it his all. I know
- 17:17Speaker 1: some fans are lukewarm on him sometimes, uh, whatever injury
- 17:21Speaker 1: that was in the end zone. Um, got up, battled
- 17:25Speaker 1: through that, came back, got hit, didn't want to come
- 17:27Speaker 1: out of the game with that. I'm not sure he
- 17:28Speaker 1: knew where he was, but he wanted to get his
- 17:30Speaker 1: helmet back and go back out there. I don't think
- 17:31Speaker 1: MMA is going to be his next career. But you saw,
- 17:35Speaker 1: you were watching on TV, I thought he looked gimpy
- 17:36Speaker 1: way before the injury in the end zone. Yeah, a
- 17:38Speaker 1: little bit. He was kind of limping around. He's got
- 17:40Speaker 1: a brace on. At the start of the game, he
- 17:42Speaker 1: was limping around.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I thought the play of the game was going to be,
- 17:44Speaker 2: because I had to switch venues. My power goes out
- 17:46Speaker 2: on Saturday. I never lose power. I had one of
- 17:49Speaker 2: our buddies came over. specifically, and spent the night Friday
- 17:52Speaker 2: night with us because he was going to lose power.
- 17:54Speaker 1: He didn't lose power. We lost power.
- 17:56Speaker 2: So I relocated to watch the games, and we ended up–
- 18:00Speaker 2: I came back to my house to feed the dogs
- 18:02Speaker 2: and stuff, and then we went back to the place
- 18:05Speaker 2: we were at. So I watched the first half at
- 18:07Speaker 2: my house. So I watched that final play. Alabama's got
- 18:10Speaker 2: to go for it there. But to me it was
- 18:13Speaker 2: Alabama gets this touchdown right before half.
- 18:15Speaker 1: They win the game. Georgia holds. They win the game.
- 18:18Speaker 1: That just felt like such a momentum play. And how
- 18:21Speaker 1: ballsy is that? Because I'm sitting there. Well, when they
- 18:23Speaker 1: threw it, I thought he was going to kick then. Oh,
- 18:25Speaker 1: I'm sitting there inside the stadium. I'm like, you got
- 18:28Speaker 1: to kick it. I thought they should have gone. What
- 18:31Speaker 1: about you, Brown? I think you kicked there. I think
- 18:35Speaker 1: you took the point. It's 10-10 at the half. You're
- 18:38Speaker 1: driven all the way down there. Georgia's getting the ball
- 18:40Speaker 1: coming out. To me, that was the biggest factor there.
- 18:42Speaker 1: If I'm getting the ball coming out, I might go
- 18:44Speaker 1: for it because I know I'm about to get the
- 18:45Speaker 1: next possession. I would have gone. But imagine if you
- 18:49Speaker 1: go for it, miss it, and Georgia does what they
- 18:51Speaker 1: did coming out of the locker room. And then now
- 18:53Speaker 1: it's 17-7. Now it's 17-7.
- 18:55Speaker 2: But when they got it, did you guys have that
- 18:57Speaker 2: feeling like, wow, like all of this momentum.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Oh, I was, again, I rarely go as a fan,
- 19:02Speaker 1: and I'm turned around to everybody. You guys don't understand.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Nick Saban would have kicked that 10 out of 10 times.
- 19:09Speaker 1: NFL playbook, you kick that, it's 10-10 at the half.
- 19:11Speaker 1: You reward the team for driving down there. And he
- 19:14Speaker 1: always knew that his team was as good or better.
- 19:17Speaker 1: We'll beat them in the second half. When he went
- 19:19Speaker 1: for it and got it, I just don't think Alabama
- 19:22Speaker 1: fans realize what a solid coach they have in Kalen DeBoer.
- 19:26Speaker 1: That was such a great, great aggressive move. I agree.
- 19:30Speaker 1: And back to the officiating, Alabama got screwed on the
- 19:32Speaker 1: clock right there, too. That ball is down with the
- 19:34Speaker 1: first down. Daniel Hill's down with the first down at 12.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Probably give it 11. Then you spike it. That's an
- 19:40Speaker 1: automatic two-second runoff for those that don't know how the
- 19:42Speaker 1: rule works. When you spike, it's automatic two. No matter
- 19:44Speaker 1: what the clock does, it's automatic two seconds. So you
- 19:47Speaker 1: would have spiked. You would have had nine seconds there.
- 19:48Speaker 1: You would have had a chance. at two plays maybe
- 19:52Speaker 1: three really with nine seconds if you throw a quick
- 19:54Speaker 1: throw in the end zone you might yeah it's probably
- 19:56Speaker 1: a lot to ask to squeeze out no when they
- 19:58Speaker 1: when those that don't know it's not like high school
- 20:00Speaker 1: there's not some alabama guy up there hitting a school
- 20:02Speaker 1: board it's actually run by an sec official on the
- 20:05Speaker 1: sideline it's an official that's in charge of the clock
- 20:07Speaker 1: that travels around different venues it's not an Alabama person
- 20:10Speaker 1: on the clock or Edgerton here in Auburn person on.
- 20:12Speaker 2: The clock I was saying go for it but when
- 20:14Speaker 2: they threw the play before I thought that that they
- 20:17Speaker 2: were going to kick.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Well if Daniel Hill goes down anywhere but where he
- 20:20Speaker 1: did they do kick it I mean the only reason
- 20:22Speaker 1: they could even go for it was Daniel Hill gave
- 20:24Speaker 1: a tremendous effort to almost score himself but certainly get
- 20:27Speaker 1: it to the basically the half yard line that's why
- 20:29Speaker 1: I feel um as good about Alabama or better about
- 20:33Speaker 1: Alabama coming out of that. How can you not? We
- 20:35Speaker 1: will see this matchup again. I think so, too. And
- 20:37Speaker 1: if you're at Georgia, I mean, we said going in,
- 20:39Speaker 1: you're the most buttoned-up team in the country, and nothing
- 20:41Speaker 1: has changed. By far the number one team in the country. Yeah,
- 20:44Speaker 1: and did it without their top two running backs. I
- 20:46Speaker 1: don't know if it matters the way their offensive line blocks. Yeah,
- 20:48Speaker 1: I really don't think that's a factor. I mean, they
- 20:50Speaker 1: ran for 220-ish. 206.
- 20:53Speaker 5: 206.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So, I mean, a lot of that in the second half.
- 20:54Speaker 1: If Frazier had been in there, what's it going to be, 226?
- 20:57Speaker 1: I don't know if he can break it for a
- 20:59Speaker 1: touchdown like those guys did. Got about as much out
- 21:02Speaker 1: of those runs as you can get out of them.
- 21:03Speaker 1: No doubt. So I think it was more offensive line, scheming,
- 21:08Speaker 1: Gunner Stockton. And the running backs were good as well.
- 21:12Speaker 1: A little post-game sound in our next segment, then we'll
- 21:15Speaker 1: bounce around the rest of the country as we move forward.
- 21:17Speaker 1: The show being brought to you by our great friends

- 22:37Speaker 1: and a little NFL talk still to come right here
- 22:39Speaker 1: on the next round. This is Sporting State. OK, listen,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I know you guys, most of most of our audience
- 22:46Speaker 1: goes to games all the time. I will tell you,
- 22:49Speaker 1: I am a pampered. Media person who always sits in
- 22:53Speaker 1: a press box and gets a meat and three and
- 22:56Speaker 1: unlimited desserts and sodas all the time. They treat the
- 23:00Speaker 1: media like you're king. I hate the press box. I'm
- 23:03Speaker 1: just saying. It's too stuffy of a place to sit.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I agree. It is. I had a blast. I'd rather
- 23:08Speaker 1: be in a suite. Thank you to the Hendrix family,
- 23:12Speaker 1: friends of me, friends of the show for letting me
- 23:16Speaker 1: go with you. Great tailgate before. But I love a
- 23:20Speaker 1: good stadium dog. I jump in there first place I go.
- 23:23Speaker 1: A good stadium dog, yeah. It just happened to be
- 23:25Speaker 1: my local high school where my daughter went to high school.
- 23:27Speaker 1: It happened to be their marching band's concession stand, you know, Alabama. Oh, yeah.
- 23:32Speaker 1: The Oak Mountain concession stand. They don't prepare the hot dogs.
- 23:35Speaker 1: But this is the hot dog I got at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Can you see Donald Duck's face in the weenie there?
- 23:43Speaker 1: I'll tell you this. I never saw Hugh Hefner's meat,
- 23:46Speaker 1: but that's all I can imagine. I can't see it, sir.
- 23:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Your mic's on. Say it with your full throat. Yeah. Sorry,
- 23:57Speaker 1: I didn't realize Tyler turned my mic on. Damn, that
- 23:59Speaker 1: looks terrible. Like, how did they serve that? And I
- 24:03Speaker 1: even asked the lady, I was like, hey, can I
- 24:04Speaker 1: get another one? Oh, that's fine. That one's fine. Oh,
- 24:07Speaker 1: she said that one's fine? Yeah. And you know, I
- 24:11Speaker 1: took it to my seat because I was like, okay,
- 24:13Speaker 1: it's a hot dog. I mean, I know what a
- 24:15Speaker 1: hot dog is. I did not take one bite of it.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I love that. That one's fine.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I remember one time I was at this dive bar
- 24:20Speaker 2: in LA. I can't make this up. And there was
- 24:22Speaker 2: a chip on my glass. And I told the bartender,
- 24:24Speaker 2: I was like, hey, man, I've got a chip of
- 24:26Speaker 2: glass here. He looked at me like... Are you kidding?
- 24:30Speaker 2: He takes the glass and pours it in another one.
- 24:32Speaker 1: He just hands it to me. You weren't worried about
- 24:34Speaker 1: the glass. You were wondering if the chip was in there.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I don't want to swallow the glass. I was like,
- 24:38Speaker 1: my God. Let's start from scratch on this one. I
- 24:40Speaker 1: can't believe that one's okay.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Because what you're supposed to do is if you chip
- 24:44Speaker 4: a glass and you've got like a big ice bin,
- 24:46Speaker 4: you have to dump the entire ice bin.
- 24:48Speaker 1: That's right. That's why you don't run the glass through it.
- 24:51Speaker 1: You burn the ice. This place was called The Pint.
- 24:55Speaker 1: They were not going to do that. What was the
- 24:57Speaker 1: price on that? Not that I'm egomaniac and think everybody
- 25:00Speaker 1: knows who I am, but the moment if I'd start
- 25:03Speaker 1: making a big deal about the hot dog, no, I
- 25:04Speaker 1: really want another one. Somebody would have been there that
- 25:07Speaker 1: likes the show and would have been like, oh, what
- 25:10Speaker 1: a prima donna.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Now that person that liked the show just heard you say, no,
- 25:15Speaker 4: the hot dog's fine. But then take a picture about
- 25:18Speaker 4: it to complain.
- 25:18Speaker 1: On the show. And if I'd had better Wi-Fi, I'd
- 25:21Speaker 1: have posted it pre-game. It just wouldn't go through. Did
- 25:24Speaker 1: you at least get another one? No. No, I'm not
- 25:26Speaker 1: talking about that point. Did you go back? Tony was
- 25:29Speaker 1: going to eat it and then he couldn't eat it either.
- 25:31Speaker 1: So we threw it away and then he went back
- 25:32Speaker 1: and got us some.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I would have battled. It looks like shit, but I
- 25:37Speaker 2: would have eaten it.
- 25:37Speaker 1: How much was that? I don't know. I don't know
- 25:40Speaker 1: because we got Sour Patch and popcorn and peanuts and
- 25:44Speaker 1: a Diet Coke to go with it. But, I mean,
- 25:46Speaker 1: you can see the Oregon mascot in it. There is
- 25:50Speaker 1: a duck face in there. You send that on Snapchat,
- 25:54Speaker 1: you might get somebody divorced. Yeah. On a bun, though?
- 26:01Speaker 1: There's some freaks out there. There's freaks everywhere. I do
- 26:04Speaker 1: need to delete that off my phone. Maggie's like, are
- 26:06Speaker 1: you sending hot dog pictures to people? I would hope
- 26:09Speaker 1: she would recognize, no. Yeah, zoom in there, Scott. Yeah,
- 26:13Speaker 1: that is Donald Duck. I agree. I could see some
- 26:16Speaker 1: see the Virgin Mary.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I mean, I know it was because I considered, I
- 26:18Speaker 2: told you guys when the power went out, I considered,
- 26:21Speaker 2: you know, coming back down because we were there doing
- 26:23Speaker 2: the show on Friday.
- 26:23Speaker 7: Okay.
- 26:24Speaker 2: I just didn't want to hang out in tailgates where
- 26:26Speaker 2: it was like a consistent mist all day is the
- 26:28Speaker 2: way it seemed.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Oh, it was. But it's almost like that hot dog.
- 26:31Speaker 1: They just laid the hot dogs out in the mist. Well,
- 26:32Speaker 1: she explained to me that they're really pressed together where
- 26:35Speaker 1: they're sitting, and that's what caused it. Okay. I love
- 26:38Speaker 1: this conversation.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Y'all got this long-ass lines forming behind you.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Do you see Donald Duck in this, by chance? Yeah. Anyway,
- 26:46Speaker 1: this is the point where I say, but, man, hats
- 26:48Speaker 1: off to Alabama's Game Ops and everything. I thought the
- 26:51Speaker 1: game came off without a hitch. It was packed. to
- 26:54Speaker 1: the rim. There were no, they sold this out, but people,
- 26:57Speaker 1: everybody showed up. I was wondering if everybody would show up.
- 26:59Speaker 1: It was packed to the rims and, um, you know,
- 27:02Speaker 1: last minute, the president bells. And I know that through
- 27:04Speaker 1: a little something different into the works for the Alabama
- 27:07Speaker 1: game ops without the president coming, who brings a certain
- 27:09Speaker 1: amount of security. So I thought they did a tremendous job. Uh,
- 27:14Speaker 1: obviously were there a lot of Georgia fans there? I mean,
- 27:17Speaker 1: the usual amount, not as much as Texas a few
- 27:19Speaker 1: years ago, but there were a lot of Georgia fans
- 27:20Speaker 1: there and congratulations to them. And my apologies if you
- 27:25Speaker 1: were hit by a piece of garbage. I wasn't throwing.
- 27:28Speaker 1: It was at the other end where the team was leaving.
- 27:31Speaker 1: That's a little rant, by the way. Don't be that. Obviously,
- 27:32Speaker 1: you should not ever throw, and that's bad. I can't
- 27:35Speaker 1: believe that one fan. I mean, look. We got that video.
- 27:39Speaker 2: I know we'll get into that, but like– If you're Kirby,
- 27:42Speaker 2: you've got to tell your players, too.
- 27:44Speaker 1: You don't want to go over that for an instigate.
- 27:46Speaker 2: There was no excuse for it, the way the fan reacted.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Well, Reggie Chapman of 11 Alive has this video, and
- 27:52Speaker 1: you see the push and the words going back and forth.
- 27:54Speaker 1: And Rylan Wilson is the player. Now, Reggie says that
- 27:59Speaker 1: Rylan thought that was a Georgia fan and was going
- 28:03Speaker 1: to celebrate with him. Apparently not. And walked over to
- 28:06Speaker 1: dap him up because he's in black. And when he
- 28:08Speaker 1: got there, obviously that guy was not a Georgia fan
- 28:11Speaker 1: and words were exchanged. And that's just a bad look.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I mean, I can believe that though. When I first
- 28:18Speaker 1: saw the video, it was shared as wild moment at
- 28:22Speaker 1: the end of the game. And I too thought he
- 28:23Speaker 1: was walking over to celebrate with a Georgia fan because
- 28:25Speaker 1: the guy's wearing black. I mean, I know it's a raincoat.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:28Speaker 1: And at first I thought he was just hugging his
- 28:30Speaker 1: head and everything. And then he pushes him away and
- 28:31Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, what am I missing here? What is
- 28:33Speaker 1: going on? And then you start hearing him get out
- 28:35Speaker 1: of here and all that. So it's a, it is
- 28:36Speaker 1: a bad look and, And I think those seats there
- 28:39Speaker 1: do have access to alcohol.
- 28:41Speaker 2: And that guy is, I'm sure he's probably not having
- 28:45Speaker 2: a great day.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Alabama has said they're looking into it. And I think
- 28:48Speaker 1: if you find out who the guy is, if you're Alabama,
- 28:51Speaker 1: I don't think you can let him come back to games.
- 28:53Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sorry for him. I would tell him
- 28:55Speaker 1: the couch is a good place. And then the throwing
- 28:58Speaker 1: trash on this. That's pathetic. It's pathetic. It's happened at
- 29:00Speaker 1: a lot of stadiums, not just Alabama. But you're pathetic
- 29:04Speaker 1: if you're throwing trash at people. But can I just
- 29:06Speaker 1: say now, this is... It's not going to come off
- 29:09Speaker 1: the right way. The amount of trash that was being
- 29:11Speaker 1: thrown is being overplayed. No, I'm sure it wasn't much,
- 29:14Speaker 1: but one is too many. But even one, yeah. One
- 29:16Speaker 1: guy that tosses a water bottle. I mean, you were
- 29:18Speaker 1: a respected fan base, I guess, for a lot of people.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Those idiots are the reasons that when you buy a
- 29:23Speaker 4: water bottle, you can't even have the cap on it
- 29:25Speaker 4: anymore at the stadiums.
- 29:27Speaker 1: What? I didn't know that. Oh, yeah. Yeah, they're going
- 29:29Speaker 1: to take it off because, I mean, this is a projectile.
- 29:31Speaker 6: So when I buy a water bottle, they take the
- 29:32Speaker 6: cap off and they give me the bottle? Yeah, because
- 29:34Speaker 6: they're gonna pop it because if you throw it yeah
- 29:37Speaker 6: then if the water cap if the cap's off of
- 29:40Speaker 6: it water's coming out as you're throwing it and it's
- 29:42Speaker 6: not as heavy yeah i had a guy throw a
- 29:45Speaker 6: water bottle at me in my car on highway 280
- 29:47Speaker 6: a couple of weeks ago hit my car with a
- 29:48Speaker 6: water bottle.
- 29:50Speaker 1: And I mean, do you scoff at him or something?
- 29:52Speaker 1: Were you tailgating him? No, no, it's a, it's a
- 29:55Speaker 1: bit of a longer story, but we got time.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 29:57Speaker 1: All right. So real quick, I'm on 280. This story
- 30:00Speaker 1: is brought to you by friends at Perfect 10 Mortgage.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I'll do both those. It was a perfect throw. I actually,
- 30:05Speaker 1: I gave him credit. So I'm coming up 280. I'm
- 30:07Speaker 1: in the right lane. He comes flying up a turn
- 30:10Speaker 1: lane and he can't get in and he creeps up
- 30:12Speaker 1: by me and he starts yelling, Hey, Hey, And I
- 30:16Speaker 1: look over and he's, let me in. And I look
- 30:19Speaker 1: at him like, what? I mean, I was kind of confused.
- 30:21Speaker 1: And he goes, Evan, let me in traffic. Like that.
- 30:24Speaker 1: And I was like, no.
- 30:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I'm not going to let you in. I mean, first off, yeah.
- 30:29Speaker 1: I mean, who are you, Nick Saban? Yeah. And it
- 30:31Speaker 1: went from that for him throwing a water bottle? So
- 30:35Speaker 1: then I pull, I tighten it up and don't let
- 30:36Speaker 1: him in. So then you get really petty. Oh, yeah, 100%. Well,
- 30:39Speaker 1: I mean, when you yell at me like that, I'm
- 30:40Speaker 1: going to get petty. So he finally gets in traffic,
- 30:44Speaker 1: works his way all the way over in the left lane,
- 30:46Speaker 1: still tons of traffic, but he's even with me, throws
- 30:49Speaker 1: a bottle out the side all the way over his car,
- 30:52Speaker 1: the car in the middle lane, and hits my window.
- 30:54Speaker 1: That is unbelievable. That's a felony. Is it really?
- 30:58Speaker 4: Yeah, that's considered throwing a missile out of your car.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Okay. Well, I think it's great. A water balloon, water bottle.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I just looked at him and shook my head and laughed.
- 31:10Speaker 1: I mean, what an idiot to do something like that.
- 31:12Speaker 1: But I also respected the throw. I mean, that was
- 31:14Speaker 1: a heck of a throw right there. Over your car.
- 31:17Speaker 1: What was the car in between you guys? Any idea?
- 31:20Speaker 1: It was an SUV. Were y'all running at that time? No,
- 31:22Speaker 1: we were sitting still. Sitting still. Less impressive of a throw.
- 31:25Speaker 1: It's still impressive.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I mean, to go over the SUV, because you clip
- 31:28Speaker 2: the SUV, you get that guy pissed off.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Had a Tennessee tag, so he's from out of state.
- 31:32Speaker 1: It's hate week. Tennessee hate week. This was several weeks ago.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I told you guys last week when Alabama was early
- 31:38Speaker 2: number one and a half, that was stealing.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Oh, look at it now. Seven? Is that what I've seen? Yeah,
- 31:42Speaker 1: it's seven. And I don't think it's enough. Tennessee's not
- 31:44Speaker 1: very good. Tennessee's not very good. They don't have a quarterback.

- 32:43Speaker 1: of a more perfect mortgage. First off, hats off to
- 32:47Speaker 1: Kalen DeBoer for the way he handled the postgame right here.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I would not have been as classy. Here's Kalen DeBoer.
- 32:57Speaker 7: What were your thoughts about the no call on the
- 32:59Speaker 7: deep ball when Rico Scott made?
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 7: I mean, we just, we can't put it, we can't
- 33:05Speaker 7: put the game in that situation where the officials, you know,
- 33:08Speaker 7: come into play.
- 33:09Speaker 1: And so we just got to control the things we
- 33:12Speaker 1: can control.
- 33:12Speaker 5: Did you get an explanation on why there was no
- 33:15Speaker 5: call in there?
- 33:17Speaker 7: I mean, just didn't feel, I guess it was pass interference. So,
- 33:21Speaker 7: I mean, no, that's all you're going to get.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Very diplomatic. I'm shocked.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Um, How would.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Have Brian Kelly handled that? His head would have exploded,
- 33:33Speaker 1: I think.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of other really, really agitated coaches.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Who is the most agitated coach right now in college football?
- 33:43Speaker 1: Probably Dan Lanning today. How would Dan have handled it?
- 33:47Speaker 1: How would Lane Kiffin have handled it? I mean, Lane
- 33:50Speaker 1: is claiming that a line judge told him the moment
- 33:53Speaker 1: was too big for them to blow the play dead
- 33:54Speaker 1: at the end of the half. I know you were
- 33:56Speaker 1: at the game, but you saw the the tush-push at
- 33:58Speaker 1: the end of the half to give Kentucky the halftime lead,
- 34:01Speaker 1: it gets clogged up, clogged up, clogged up, and it
- 34:03Speaker 1: was like the second or third effort. I didn't think
- 34:05Speaker 1: he got in. If he got in, they got Minchie in.
- 34:08Speaker 1: And Kiffin said, the line judge said, it was too
- 34:10Speaker 1: big of a moment to blow the whistle. So Kiffin
- 34:12Speaker 1: is saying that the SEC is basically telling him. It
- 34:14Speaker 1: cost me a ball in the bucket, LSU, but I
- 34:16Speaker 1: loved seeing them lose. But, I mean, if you're DeBoer,
- 34:19Speaker 1: what's going to be gained from going in there and
- 34:21Speaker 1: just blowing up? I mean, what's going to be gained? A,
- 34:23Speaker 1: you're going to get fined. I mean, that drop in
- 34:25Speaker 1: the bucket makes like $ 12 million a year. even if
- 34:28Speaker 1: he does pay the fine himself. But, I mean, what's
- 34:30Speaker 1: going to be gained there, Jim? Nothing. And listen, I
- 34:34Speaker 1: think if Alabama, you know, if Del Gotti's not hurt
- 34:38Speaker 1: that bad and their injury report comes back better than
- 34:42Speaker 1: possible today, I think Alabama is perceived better today by
- 34:49Speaker 1: the country than they were going into that game. Yeah.
- 34:52Speaker 4: So.
- 34:52Speaker 1: And you could see that in the AP poll. They
- 34:54Speaker 1: didn't drop at all. Shouldn't have. At number six. All right.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Other games. We do this every Monday. We start bouncing
- 35:00Speaker 1: around now. Do anybody want to start with Kentucky and LSU?
- 35:04Speaker 1: I'm fine with that. It was a fantastic game. Let
- 35:07Speaker 1: that be your pick. We'll do Lance next. Kentucky, LSU.
- 35:10Speaker 1: The most exciting team in America to watch right now
- 35:12Speaker 1: is Kentucky. It's kind of crazy to say that, but
- 35:15Speaker 1: they play close games. You don't have to overhype it. No, no, no.
- 35:19Speaker 1: They are. They play close games. They go to overtime
- 35:22Speaker 1: in these games. And Stein follows the Ryan Brown rule.
- 35:25Speaker 1: If you've got the ball second in the first overtime,
- 35:27Speaker 1: you always go for two. And he's going for two
- 35:29Speaker 1: in the win twice in a row now. And he's
- 35:31Speaker 1: won both of them. Most, most predictable thing. Like right
- 35:34Speaker 1: when they scored, you know, we're, there's probably 12 people
- 35:37Speaker 1: with us. And I was like, he's going for two.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Some people were like, really? Of course.
- 35:41Speaker 2: And, and not only is it probability the way to
- 35:45Speaker 2: do it, but it's also his personality.
- 35:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Yeah. And, and the way he's got this team playing,
- 35:50Speaker 1: they play with confidence. They should have won the game
- 35:51Speaker 1: in regulation. Their kicker let them down very, very badly.
- 35:54Speaker 1: They kept having to settle for three and he could
- 35:55Speaker 1: not make them. Um, This is alarming, I think, if
- 35:59Speaker 1: you're an LSU fan. Leavitt is not a very good quarterback.
- 36:02Speaker 1: I am going to be way wrong on that. I
- 36:04Speaker 1: had him in my number one spot. I did not
- 36:07Speaker 1: like him back in the summer. And you are going
- 36:09Speaker 1: to be correct on this, Lance. They're not getting quality
- 36:11Speaker 1: play out of Sam Leavitt right now.
- 36:13Speaker 2: And I think ultimately, you know, this is an 8-4,
- 36:16Speaker 2: 7-5 type team. They win their next two, but then
- 36:20Speaker 2: they got three in a row that are very losable.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Lance has always told you about Lane Kiffin's record. From
- 36:27Speaker 1: Brandon Marcello, Lane is now 14-16. 14 wins, 16 losses
- 36:32Speaker 1: in SEC road games as a head coach. That's not good.
- 36:36Speaker 1: That's a losing record. That is, in fact, a losing record.
- 36:38Speaker 1: And Lance has always pointed this out, but Stuart Mandel
- 36:41Speaker 1: pointed it out this way. Lane Kiffin is the only
- 36:45Speaker 1: coach that is top five in pay without a major
- 36:48Speaker 1: conference championship.
- 36:51Speaker 2: I mean, again, he did great things at Ole Miss,
- 36:54Speaker 2: but You still don't have those championships involved, and until
- 36:57Speaker 2: he gets them, I don't know how we can consider
- 36:59Speaker 2: him an elite coach.
- 37:00Speaker 1: I don't know what the ceiling is for this Kentucky team.
- 37:02Speaker 1: They get Oklahoma next week, which if you're going to
- 37:04Speaker 1: get Oklahoma, now's the time to play them, even in
- 37:07Speaker 1: Norman next week. I think them coming off that big
- 37:09Speaker 1: win that we'll talk about in a moment in the
- 37:11Speaker 1: Red River, that's a great time to get Oklahoma. Vanderbilt's
- 37:14Speaker 1: no good. Tennessee's struggling to get quarterback. Florida has hit earth.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Louisville is, eh. I mean, Kentucky's got some more wins
- 37:20Speaker 1: left at 5-1 right now. They've got more wins left
- 37:23Speaker 1: on the schedule. It's been a great job.
- 37:25Speaker 2: I don't want to diminish anything, but I don't know
- 37:27Speaker 2: how you guys feel, but I said this last week
- 37:29Speaker 2: about the Big Ten. Like, the Big Ten's just three teams. Well,
- 37:32Speaker 2: now it's not even three teams. It might just be
- 37:34Speaker 2: two teams.
- 37:35Speaker 1: In Indiana.
- 37:36Speaker 2: I think Nebraska's better than we thought, but Indiana did
- 37:39Speaker 2: not look good offensively at all.
- 37:41Speaker 1: And so it's almost like Ohio State there.
- 37:43Speaker 2: And when I look at the SEC, I'm like, and
- 37:45Speaker 2: I know we've got our power rankings coming up, but
- 37:46Speaker 2: I feel good about Georgia.
- 37:48Speaker 1: I feel good about Alabama.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Ole Miss maybe if they can tighten the defense up,
- 37:52Speaker 2: but it's almost like one out of the Big Ten,
- 37:54Speaker 2: two out of the SEC, Notre Dame, and I don't
- 37:56Speaker 2: know what else is left. I mean, Kentucky's good.
- 37:59Speaker 1: When we do our power rankings tomorrow, I guess, we'll
- 38:02Speaker 1: do that tomorrow, right? If they're ready today, we'll do
- 38:05Speaker 1: it today. That's up to Brooks. Brooks will have to
- 38:07Speaker 1: tell us when they're ready. I am fascinated to see
- 38:08Speaker 1: what y'all did with Kentucky. Don't tell me now, but
- 38:10Speaker 1: I'm fascinated to see. And I think they're good. I
- 38:13Speaker 1: do too. I can show you Andy Staples, his college
- 38:16Speaker 1: football projections. From on three sports, I think I can.
- 38:22Speaker 1: I gave it to Forrester. Do you have it, Forrester? Nope.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Other show, yeah. Okay. That's it for the other show.
- 38:29Speaker 1: It is. We'll show you that later. Hang on. I can... Man,
- 38:33Speaker 1: if he's got Kentucky... Well, I mean, you've got to
- 38:36Speaker 1: have 12 teams. We do this all the time with
- 38:37Speaker 1: the basketball tournament. But I don't think Kentucky can get
- 38:40Speaker 1: in with three losses. Yeah, but they've only got one
- 38:42Speaker 1: right now. I get it, but... Andy Staples does have Kentucky...
- 38:47Speaker 1: in his 12 team playoff right now. And I know Andy,
- 38:50Speaker 1: you know, he, he likes to, you know, he approaches
- 38:53Speaker 1: the pole like you do. Yeah. Um, you know, why
- 38:56Speaker 1: just swings, but they are five and one. They're out
- 38:58Speaker 1: of the sec. Yeah. Brown at Florida. Number one, a
- 39:01Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago. Yeah, you did. You did. Uh,
- 39:04Speaker 1: it's just, it's a, uh, there's going to be three
- 39:07Speaker 1: or four teams from the big 10 in the sec.
- 39:10Speaker 1: And who is the third and fourth team? I believe
- 39:13Speaker 1: Ole Miss is there. Here's Andy's bracket ology. Um, Andy
- 39:18Speaker 1: does not have Kentucky in there. He's got Northwestern. So
- 39:21Speaker 1: you thought he had Kentucky, but he doesn't. He's got
- 39:23Speaker 1: Mississippi State.
- 39:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Some people did have Kentucky in there. He has Mississippi
- 39:27Speaker 1: State still. Well, you know what? I want to tell
- 39:29Speaker 1: you this.
- 39:29Speaker 2: I'm just guessing. I don't know if you've heard anything
- 39:31Speaker 2: on Camario. I bet Camario won't play this week.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Against LSU?
- 39:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:36Speaker 1: I feel pretty good in saying that. Andy did. That's
- 39:41Speaker 1: Andy's current one? It's the one you sent me, Jim.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Man, I couldn't have woken up from being in a coma.
- 39:50Speaker 1: And I'm going to see Oklahoma State, Mississippi State. They're
- 39:55Speaker 1: hosting Oregon? Yeah, I sent you the wrong one. Yeah,
- 39:58Speaker 1: you did, because there's no way Oregon's still in it.
- 40:00Speaker 1: They're unranked. I thought I sent you a Kentucky one. Actually, no,
- 40:03Speaker 1: it's not the one you sent me. Uh-oh. No, but
- 40:05Speaker 1: that's got to be.
- 40:06Speaker 2: I mean, Oregon's unranked, but there's no way you would
- 40:09Speaker 2: have Northwestern right now if that's not updated.
- 40:11Speaker 1: No, no, no. It's old. It's old. That is old.
- 40:15Speaker 1: We're showing you where Andy had everything before this weekend.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Andy has Georgia 1, Alabama 2. He has Texas 7.
- 40:23Speaker 1: He has Kentucky in there, but he's got UCLA in
- 40:26Speaker 1: there too, so we're about to get to them as well.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Just because. I mean, and he has Northwestern in there
- 40:33Speaker 1: as well. Let's take a break here. There you go. Oh,
- 40:37Speaker 1: here we go. Thank you, Scott. I thought I saw
- 40:38Speaker 1: Kentucky in there. There they are. Boy, it looks weird.
- 40:41Speaker 1: It is, because there's Northwestern, there's Kentucky, there's UCLA, there's
- 40:44Speaker 1: Oklahoma State. I mean, Lance, if you awoke from a
- 40:46Speaker 1: coma and saw this one, what would you think? UCLA, Kentucky,
- 40:49Speaker 1: and Northwestern in there?
- 40:51Speaker 7: Wow.
- 40:53Speaker 2: You guys heard me last week when I said Northwestern,
- 40:55Speaker 2: and I asked Klatt last Monday, is Northwestern the fourth
- 40:58Speaker 2: best team in the Big Ten?
- 41:00Speaker 1: I think they might be, but playoff team? My biggest
- 41:03Speaker 1: problem with Andy right there, there's zero chance Indiana's better
- 41:05Speaker 1: than Ohio State. You're about to find that out Saturday.
- 41:08Speaker 1: What's the point spread of that one? Three and a half.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Only three and a half?
- 41:15Speaker 2: I mean, Indiana did it when they needed it, but
- 41:17Speaker 2: I was shocked at how bad their offense looked.
- 41:20Speaker 1: So you only think Ohio State's only a three-and-a-half point
- 41:23Speaker 1: favorite in Indiana?
- 41:25Speaker 2: I don't know how you could put it much higher.
- 41:27Speaker 2: They've won 22 consecutive games.
- 41:29Speaker 1: I mean, there's got to be a point spread. No,
- 41:31Speaker 1: he said it's three-and-a-half. I'm saying I don't know. I
- 41:34Speaker 1: might have listed a tick.
- 41:35Speaker 2: I mean, it's over that key number of three, but
- 41:37Speaker 2: I might have put it at four-and-a-half, kind of settling
- 41:40Speaker 2: between a touchdown and a field goal.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Three and a half at Hard Rock Bet. I only
- 41:44Speaker 1: need two more picks for my pick three this week.
- 41:46Speaker 1: I've got pick number one. You haven't checked the system yet.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I don't care about the system. I think the system
- 41:52Speaker 1: is probably dead. I mean, Ohio State's going to beat
- 41:55Speaker 1: the brakes off Indiana. Yes.
- 41:57Speaker 2: This has been a very predictable football season, so you
- 42:00Speaker 2: guys are probably dead on.
- 42:01Speaker 1: It really has not. When we come back, LT makes
- 42:05Speaker 1: a pick, and we'll pick up the pace a little
- 42:08Speaker 1: bit on some of these games as we roll through
- 42:10Speaker 1: what was a very entertaining Week six of college football.
- 42:13Speaker 1: This is the next round presented by Hard Rock Bet
- 42:15Speaker 1: on Sporting State. Rolling on here on the next round
- 42:20Speaker 1: on Sporting State. Product placement. Let me take a swig

- 43:19Speaker 1: your choice. Pick a game.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Let's go Red River Shootout. You brought up Oklahoma, and
- 43:23Speaker 2: we said it all week. I don't know how it's
- 43:25Speaker 2: going to happen, but Oklahoma will find a way to
- 43:26Speaker 2: do it. It started with a blocked punt. I'll tell you,
- 43:29Speaker 2: watching in-game and talking to a buddy, I was like,
- 43:33Speaker 2: as much as I liked Oklahoma this week, after four
- 43:35Speaker 2: straight three-and-outs to begin the game, you might want to
- 43:37Speaker 2: take a look at Texas in-game because... I don't know
- 43:39Speaker 2: how Oklahoma's going to score. You get the block punt.
- 43:41Speaker 2: You later get the pick six. But, damn, what a
- 43:44Speaker 2: win for Venables coming off the bye. And, you know,
- 43:47Speaker 2: they're not alive, I don't think, you know, to go
- 43:49Speaker 2: on this amazing run.
- 43:50Speaker 1: But still a big win. And, boy, that's deflating for Texas.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Can I just give Brown some credit? You left credit.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Because Friday he started saying. I gave you three things. Yeah,
- 44:00Speaker 1: if they block a punt. That's right. If they get
- 44:02Speaker 1: a pick six. And I think the other one was
- 44:04Speaker 1: recover a fumble in the end zone. Defense sets up
- 44:06Speaker 1: a field goal. Yeah. You got all that. I said,
- 44:10Speaker 1: special teams will have to score. They did with the
- 44:12Speaker 1: black punt. I said, you're going to have to have
- 44:13Speaker 1: a pick six. And then your special teams probably needs,
- 44:16Speaker 1: or your defense probably needs to set you up for
- 44:18Speaker 1: a field goal. And they did at the end. They
- 44:19Speaker 1: did at the end. They did all those things. They
- 44:21Speaker 1: literally did all, and it took all three of them.
- 44:22Speaker 1: And I laughed out loud. I was like, Bram, my God.
- 44:25Speaker 1: All three of those things can't happen, but they did.
- 44:27Speaker 1: It's absurd.
- 44:28Speaker 2: And by the way, I didn't think it was a touchdown.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Like once you called it the touchdown on the field,
- 44:31Speaker 2: the recovery in the end zone.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that was really, really good. then you probably have
- 44:34Speaker 1: to stick with.
- 44:34Speaker 2: It but i thought it was more than likely a
- 44:36Speaker 2: safety and i was like son of a bitch if
- 44:37Speaker 2: that's safety there's no chance they can win once they
- 44:39Speaker 2: got the touchdown i was like okay they got a
- 44:41Speaker 2: little life here uh texas terrible on third downs you
- 44:45Speaker 2: can legitimately question arch like.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Were they worse in oklahoma third down oklahoma was worse
- 44:51Speaker 1: but it was close but you expect that out of
- 44:53Speaker 1: oklahoma 13 and texas was three of 14 so you
- 44:56Speaker 1: know give them one more and they they convert that
- 44:58Speaker 1: third down but There is no way you can look
- 45:00Speaker 1: at Arch and say, that's a future franchise quarterback in
- 45:05Speaker 1: the NFL. I mean, the pick six was just a
- 45:08Speaker 1: terrible throw. Just a terrible throw. He's got Cam Coleman
- 45:13Speaker 1: wide open. He doesn't process well. Yeah, I guess he doesn't.
- 45:15Speaker 1: He was trying to throw it on the move. Mateer's worse,
- 45:19Speaker 1: as far as processing. Yeah, but you expect that out
- 45:21Speaker 1: of Mateer now. Again, we talked about this last week.
- 45:25Speaker 1: You say, what's wrong with Texas? The answer is quarterback,
- 45:27Speaker 1: but you're It's so hard to say that about a Manning.
- 45:30Speaker 1: You just assume, nah, it can't be quarterback, it's a Manning.
- 45:32Speaker 1: That's their problem, is quarterback.
- 45:34Speaker 2: I would guarantee you, if you talk to 10 Texas
- 45:37Speaker 2: fans today, nine are like, please, Arch, go to the NFL.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I watched two quarterbacks Saturday night that would have Texas
- 45:43Speaker 1: still undefeated and still number one. You put Gunnar Stockton
- 45:46Speaker 1: or Keelan Russell on that team. Oh, they would look like...
- 45:50Speaker 1: The elite team.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Like, oh, damn, this is Texas and everyone else with
- 45:53Speaker 2: those two guys.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Keelan Russell from Duncanville, Texas, by the way. Yeah. Former
- 45:58Speaker 1: SMU commit.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 1: You could have had him. Well, I shouldn't say that. Hey,
- 46:01Speaker 1: you finally got a Cam Coleman showing. I know. And
- 46:03Speaker 1: I'll go ahead and tell you, it's just the world
- 46:05Speaker 1: we live in. Alabama will have to fight off Texas
- 46:08Speaker 1: in the portal to keep Keelan Russell. Yeah, that's if
- 46:10Speaker 1: Arch goes to the pros. I'm with Lance. There's growing
- 46:12Speaker 1: discussion that Arch is going to have to come back now.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I think the bigger discussion is, can Sark... Show Arch
- 46:21Speaker 1: the door.
- 46:22Speaker 2: So that was the conversation, and you guys heard this
- 46:25Speaker 2: last year, 18 months ago, with Jalen Milrow. Like DeBoer,
- 46:31Speaker 2: and Sark's a nice guy too, like DeBoer's too nice
- 46:34Speaker 2: and too loyal to tell Jalen he needs to move
- 46:37Speaker 2: on to Ty Simpson. That worked out well for Alabama.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Can Sark do it with the money, with the name?
- 46:44Speaker 2: Does he get cross with the Manning family? I mean,
- 46:47Speaker 2: who says no to the Mannings? And to tell their Manning, hey, look,
- 46:49Speaker 2: we don't have a spot for you anymore?
- 46:51Speaker 1: Damn. But I'd do it. That'd be hard. Or at
- 46:53Speaker 1: least I'd consider it. You guys are going to be
- 46:57Speaker 1: the Mannings the rest of your lives. I may have
- 47:00Speaker 1: one more year to be the coach of Texas. Because,
- 47:03Speaker 1: I mean, they– A path to missing the playoffs exists
- 47:06Speaker 1: for them. I don't think they're going to miss. They're
- 47:08Speaker 1: lucky they won that Ohio State game. 100%. Without that
- 47:11Speaker 1: fourth quarter against Ohio State, they're out of the playoffs. Yeah,
- 47:13Speaker 1: because I still think they get in with three losses.
- 47:15Speaker 1: That's right. I was about to say that. Because of
- 47:17Speaker 1: that Ohio State win, and Ohio State probably is not
- 47:19Speaker 1: going to lose again. Because of that Ohio State win,
- 47:22Speaker 1: when it gets to politicking time with the committee at
- 47:25Speaker 1: the end, They're going to be, if they lose another one,
- 47:28Speaker 1: 9-3 with a win over Ohio State.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think they're probably 10-2 with the schedule.
- 47:32Speaker 2: I mean, Florida got a lot easier after watching the
- 47:35Speaker 2: last two weekends there, but Missouri's gotten a lot more difficult.
- 47:38Speaker 2: I mean, Texas at Missouri right now, Missouri would win
- 47:40Speaker 2: that game. But you can't count on Texas. You don't
- 47:43Speaker 2: know what offense is going to show up.
- 47:44Speaker 1: No, you're right.
- 47:45Speaker 2: I'm just saying, when I look at it, at Missouri,
- 47:47Speaker 2: at LSU, those are really difficult games. Ole Miss is
- 47:50Speaker 2: a really difficult game. So, I don't know, maybe it
- 47:52Speaker 2: is 9-3 at the end of the year.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's this, I mean, when you look at that,
- 47:58Speaker 1: I mean, you at least get to host Ole Miss
- 48:01Speaker 1: in state. Those will be really difficult road games if
- 48:04Speaker 1: you had to go on the road for those. So
- 48:06Speaker 1: they're about to go three games at home. Three games
- 48:09Speaker 1: at home. Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State. Yep, and then
- 48:11Speaker 1: the only remaining home games are because always should be
- 48:13Speaker 1: a win. But at Missouri, at LSU, those are tough games.
- 48:16Speaker 1: None of those games other than Arkansas are automatic games.
- 48:19Speaker 1: You're right. A & M is starting to feel automatic.
- 48:20Speaker 2: I think you're going to see this with almost every
- 48:23Speaker 2: Big Ten or SEC team that is not named– Georgia, Alabama,
- 48:26Speaker 2: Ohio State.
- 48:28Speaker 1: These games are tough now. Yeah. And there's going to
- 48:30Speaker 1: be a lot of losses coming up. Yeah. And we
- 48:32Speaker 1: sort of have to get used to that. Here's Sark
- 48:35Speaker 1: after a loss. They had won seven games in a row,
- 48:38Speaker 1: four against ranked teams. They ran into unranked Oklahoma as
- 48:42Speaker 1: the number one team in the country. And now people
- 48:45Speaker 1: are wondering if Texas can win a second national championship
- 48:49Speaker 1: in the span of 55 years. Here's Sark.
- 48:52Speaker 5: You know, for us, there's obviously a level of disappointment.
- 48:56Speaker 5: um there's a level of of anger and frustration because
- 49:00Speaker 5: we know we have issues that need to be fixed
- 49:02Speaker 5: and we're working on those issues and trying to get
- 49:04Speaker 5: them fixed uh but they rear their ugly head today
- 49:07Speaker 5: uh against a quality team and that's what in in
- 49:11Speaker 5: this conference what happens if if you if you expose
- 49:15Speaker 5: yourself to these errors good teams in our conference are
- 49:19Speaker 5: going to take advantage of them and you get beat.
- 49:21Speaker 5: And that's exactly what happened today.
- 49:25Speaker 1: It's a rivalry game. It means a lot to the
- 49:27Speaker 1: people of Texas. I'm not sure right afterwards that the
- 49:31Speaker 1: big picture talk is what I want to hear.
- 49:34Speaker 5: No.
- 49:34Speaker 1: You know what I mean? I understand where we are,
- 49:36Speaker 1: that two and we're in, three and we're going to
- 49:39Speaker 1: battle for it. But when I lose to my rival,
- 49:41Speaker 1: I want to.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think anybody's ever going to say, damn,
- 49:44Speaker 2: we wasted Arch Manning. But I think what you can
- 49:47Speaker 2: say is we wasted an elite defense. How an elite
- 49:50Speaker 2: defense loses that type of game has got to be
- 49:52Speaker 2: beyond frustrating.
- 49:53Speaker 1: I don't think you'll say you wasted Arch Manning, but
- 49:55Speaker 1: you will ask the question, how did you not get
- 49:57Speaker 1: more out of him? You know what I'm saying? Yeah, no,
- 50:00Speaker 1: what I'm saying is— Yeah, I know what you're saying.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Yeah, like, you know, this guy's going to go on
- 50:03Speaker 2: to the NFL, and he's going to have a great career,
- 50:05Speaker 2: and you're like, damn, man, we had Art for a
- 50:06Speaker 2: few years.
- 50:06Speaker 1: We wasted him. That's not going to happen. I'm not
- 50:09Speaker 1: a draft analyst, but if I am in the NFL
- 50:11Speaker 1: front office, I cannot justify using a first-round pick on
- 50:14Speaker 1: that guy. No way. No way. And if you're not
- 50:16Speaker 1: going to be first-round, how do you leave Texas? Well,
- 50:18Speaker 1: I mean, the media perception is starting to change. I
- 50:21Speaker 1: saw a couple of headlines. One, does Texas have an
- 50:24Speaker 1: Arch problem?
- 50:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:26Speaker 1: My headline would have been Arch Madness, but they're not
- 50:30Speaker 1: going that direction.
- 50:30Speaker 2: I know we're going to get to this game in
- 50:32Speaker 2: a little bit, but Mestermaker might be the best quarterback
- 50:34Speaker 2: in college football.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Keelan's great.
- 50:36Speaker 2: These guys bring different things, but my point is there
- 50:39Speaker 2: are other first-round guys out there.
- 50:41Speaker 1: They're not Arch Madness. Arch to soul-crushing INTs. I mean,
- 50:46Speaker 1: soul-crushing says a lot. Did you not like my losing
- 50:49Speaker 1: Texas headline? Losing Texas was good. I did like that.
- 50:51Speaker 1: By the way, that was his first ever pick six.
- 50:54Speaker 1: I mean, that was surprising to me. He's never even
- 50:57Speaker 1: thrown a pick six.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Did everything come to fruition with our headline?
- 51:01Speaker 1: Like, Dunaway has been banned from. Yeah, yeah.
- 51:04Speaker 4: Dunaway is officially banned from Chicago.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Andrews came out of retirement. Yeah, yeah. We'll say that.
- 51:10Speaker 4: We'll say he did and actually did perform surgery on
- 51:13Speaker 4: a bird. But yeah, Oklahoma beat Texas and Sark and
- 51:17Speaker 4: Arch threw up at the state fair.
- 51:19Speaker 1: They did. Three for three. Yeah. It's a good weekend.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Just wait until we get to the upset alert picks tomorrow.
- 51:25Speaker 1: We'll be bragging about upset alert tomorrow. The show had
- 51:28Speaker 1: a good day. If you would have told Muschamp, Cetania
- 51:31Speaker 1: doesn't score a touchdown. He really was a non-factor, even
- 51:35Speaker 1: not scoring a touchdown. He barely did anything until the
- 51:37Speaker 1: very end. Those two plays that set up the game
- 51:39Speaker 1: winning field goal. That was it.
- 51:40Speaker 2: They have 83 yards on the ground, less than three
- 51:42Speaker 2: yards a carry, and back to your third downs. They're
- 51:45Speaker 2: 2 of 13 on third downs, and you score 24 points.
- 51:48Speaker 1: How do you lose that game? We turn it over
- 51:50Speaker 1: a bunch. You did. I mean, that's the only thing.
- 51:52Speaker 1: And special teams were a disaster. In the next hour,
- 51:54Speaker 1: what has happened to Florida? We'll talk more about, we'll
- 51:58Speaker 1: just go through our selections, picking more games, including UCLA's
- 52:01Speaker 1: win at Oregon. What has happened to Oregon? All that
- 52:03Speaker 1: still to come. It is the next round presented by
- 52:05Speaker 1: Hard Rock Bet on Sporting State.
