Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Verdict with Center, Ted Cruz Ben Ferguson
0:04
Speaker 1: with you, and today's episode is going to be a
0:06
Speaker 1: very special one with a very special guest, and I
0:08
Speaker 1: hope that you will take this episode and share it
0:11
Speaker 1: on social media. Also, if you want to watch it
0:13
Speaker 1: on YouTube, it's there. Because Center, we're dealing with a
0:16
Speaker 1: very important and also a very tough subject right now
0:20
Speaker 1: that is on the minds of a lot of Americans,
0:22
Speaker 1: and I want you to explain why we decide to
0:25
Speaker 1: this show and also introduce our guests.
0:27
Speaker 2: Well, we're going to be focusing today on the rise
0:30
Speaker 2: of radical Islam in America and also the rise of
0:33
Speaker 2: radical Islam across the globe. And we're going to talk
0:37
Speaker 2: about Comrade Mondami, who we devoted the entire last podcast
0:42
Speaker 2: to his rise in New York, to the very real
0:44
Speaker 2: possibility that we will have a communist, a Marxist jihadist
0:50
Speaker 2: as the next mayor of New York and how frightening
0:52
Speaker 2: that is. We're going to talk also about the Muslim
0:54
Speaker 2: Brotherhood and what the Muslim Brotherhood is and why I
0:58
Speaker 2: am leading the fight to have them the Brotherhood declared
1:01
Speaker 2: a terrorist organization. We're going to talk about what's happening
1:05
Speaker 2: in Nigeria, about the systematic mass murder of Christians in
1:09
Speaker 2: Nigeria by Boko Haram and other radical Islamic terrorists. And
1:13
Speaker 2: we're also going to talk about Somalia and the prospect
1:17
Speaker 2: of America recognizing Somaliland, and how we can fight back
1:22
Speaker 2: against extremist forces in Africa and all of that. We're
1:26
Speaker 2: gonna have this conversation with a special guest. So our
1:28
Speaker 2: guest today is Ayan here see Ali Ayan was born
1:34
Speaker 2: in Mogadishu, Somalia. Then in nineteen sixty nine she grew
1:38
Speaker 2: up and she was raised as a Muslim, and as
1:41
Speaker 2: she got older, she began to question aspects of her faith.
1:46
Speaker 2: One day, while listening to a sermon on the many
1:49
Speaker 2: ways women should be obedient to their husbands, she couldn't
1:53
Speaker 2: resist asking must husbands obey us? Also in nineteen ninety two,
1:59
Speaker 2: Ayan led to the Netherlands to escape a forced marriage. There,
2:04
Speaker 2: she was granted asylum and in time citizenship. She quickly
2:09
Speaker 2: learned Dutch and was able to study at the University
2:12
Speaker 2: of Leiden, earning her MA and political science. She worked
2:17
Speaker 2: as a translator for Somali immigrants and she saw firsthand
2:21
Speaker 2: the inconsistencies the tensions between liberal Western society and tribal
2:26
Speaker 2: Muslim cultures. From two thousand and three to two thousand
2:30
Speaker 2: and six, Allan served as an elected member of the
2:34
Speaker 2: Dutch Parliament. Actually, in two thousand and five, Time magazine
2:37
Speaker 2: named her one of the one hundred most influential people
2:41
Speaker 2: in the world. In parliament, she focused on the integration
2:47
Speaker 2: of Muslim immigrants into Dutch society and on fighting for
2:52
Speaker 2: the rights of women. Now today, she is a research
2:56
Speaker 2: fellow at the Hoover Institution, and she is a founder
2:59
Speaker 2: of the Aha Fi Foundation. And Ayon, welcome the Verdict.
3:04
Speaker 3: Senator, thank you for having me on.
3:08
Speaker 2: We are very glad to have you. Let's start by
3:12
Speaker 2: just if you could briefly, I shared a little bit
3:14
Speaker 2: of your bio, but just tell us your story. Tell
3:16
Speaker 2: us your story of the journey you've taken, because it's
3:20
Speaker 2: an extraordinary story and I think our listeners and viewers
3:23
Speaker 2: would be very interested hearing it. Well.
3:26
Speaker 3: Think I think you really summarized it very well. I
3:29
Speaker 3: was born in Somali. I was raised in Muslim in
3:31
Speaker 3: a Muslim family. I was born in political household. My
3:35
Speaker 3: father was very much he was very much influenced by
3:39
Speaker 3: America during the Cold War, when you know the world
3:45
Speaker 3: was divided into two hemispheres, those that supported the US
3:48
Speaker 3: and those that supported the ideology of uss R. I'm
3:52
Speaker 3: proud to say that my family supported the US, and
3:57
Speaker 3: I don't want to say that my father was entirely secular,
4:01
Speaker 3: but I want to say we suffered as at the
4:08
Speaker 3: hands of communism, Islamism, whatever you can you I'm very
4:13
Speaker 3: intimately familiar with some of these totalitarian ideologies, not from books,
4:17
Speaker 3: but from real experience, and it's one of the reasons
4:20
Speaker 3: why I reject them so completely. But I thought the
4:23
Speaker 3: introduction you gave was fair and very good, and I
4:28
Speaker 3: find myself in the United States a citizen and a
4:32
Speaker 3: very grateful citizen to be American.
4:35
Speaker 2: So Ian, tell us what is Islamism and how does
4:40
Speaker 2: it differ from there? Well over a billion practicing Muslims worldwide,
4:46
Speaker 2: not every Muslim is an Islamist. What's the difference between the.
4:49
Speaker 3: Two political Islam? I would say, is in some ways
4:55
Speaker 3: different from general Islam. I know some of my fellow
5:00
Speaker 3: researchers are just going to be really upset with me
5:03
Speaker 3: when I make this distinction, but in practice. When I
5:06
Speaker 3: look at countries like the United Arab Immirates and the
5:09
Speaker 3: leaders of the United Arab Immirates, what they're trying to
5:12
Speaker 3: say is, look, there is Islam as a civilization. We're
5:16
Speaker 3: trying to cope and modernize and do This is our
5:19
Speaker 3: national identity, this is our religious identity. But on the
5:22
Speaker 3: other hand is political Islam, which is that what is
5:26
Speaker 3: promoted by the Muslim Brotherhood. And political Islam is a
5:30
Speaker 3: modern movement that was born out of the fall of
5:33
Speaker 3: the Islamic Empire in nineteen twenty four when the Ottoman
5:37
Speaker 3: Caliphate fell apart. They developed this ideology collectivist, totalitarian, which
5:44
Speaker 3: is in pursuit of establishing Islamic dominance over what used
5:50
Speaker 3: to be the Islamic heartlands and then spread out throughout
5:54
Speaker 3: the rest of the world. So we're looking at an
5:57
Speaker 3: Islamist political ideology versus Islam as civilization. Islam has a
6:08
Speaker 3: lot of problems, and I'm the first one to admit that.
6:11
Speaker 3: But I think as Americans today, our focus should be
6:16
Speaker 3: on political Islam because it's easier to diagnose, it's easier
6:21
Speaker 3: to define. We know what the objectives are, we know
6:23
Speaker 3: who leads them, and we know we know also that
6:30
Speaker 3: they have and formed an alliance with radical communists. With
6:35
Speaker 3: communists they operate as a subversive effort, which I call dawa.
6:41
Speaker 3: And then there is, of course, we're familiar with the
6:44
Speaker 3: terrorist or jihiy aspect of it. So complicated, yes, conceptually,
6:50
Speaker 3: but in practice easy to define, easy to understand, and
6:55
Speaker 3: in my view, easy to combat well.
6:58
Speaker 2: And look the way I understand and you're far more
7:00
Speaker 2: of an expert in this than I. But but but
7:03
Speaker 2: I I draw a distinction between Islamist who seek to
7:07
Speaker 2: in force UH not only their faith but but Sharia
7:11
Speaker 2: law and and and to use force and power to
7:15
Speaker 2: forcibly convert others and to forcibly subjugate others to Islam
7:20
Speaker 2: and and and and and for me at least, I
7:22
Speaker 2: use Islamist and jahadis somewhat interchangeably. Which is the the
7:27
Speaker 2: the the commitment to using force, to using violence UH
7:32
Speaker 2: to to dominate and and defeat the infidels. And I
7:35
Speaker 2: would draw a distinction. You know, there's some countries like
7:38
Speaker 2: you take for example, India, which has a very large
7:40
Speaker 2: Muslim population but not a very high incidence of Islamism.
7:45
Speaker 2: There's there's less political Islam there, uh than there is.
7:49
Speaker 2: You look at the rise of the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt,
7:52
Speaker 2: and and and the the willingness to and and in fact,
7:56
Speaker 2: the the commitment to forcibly subjugate others. It is profoundly dangerous.
8:02
Speaker 2: And I would say, yon, in my view, Europe is
8:08
Speaker 2: ten to twenty years ahead of America in this and
8:11
Speaker 2: in that Europe allowed itself to see a full on
8:15
Speaker 2: invasion and and it really is in many ways captive
8:20
Speaker 2: of the rising Islamist forced. America thankfully is not there yet,
8:24
Speaker 2: but we can look to Europe as foreshadowing of where
8:27
Speaker 2: things could could end up? Do you agree with that assessment?
8:30
Speaker 2: And and and look you were you were a member
8:33
Speaker 2: of the Dutch Parliament, so you have a lot of
8:35
Speaker 2: experience in Europe and seeing what happened to Europe over
8:39
Speaker 2: the last couple of decades.
8:41
Speaker 3: Oh, Comte, I completely agree with you. And I think
8:45
Speaker 3: the countries to listen to today are the heartlands of Islam,
8:50
Speaker 3: the rulers of the United Arab Immirates and maybe even
8:54
Speaker 3: Saudi Arabia, because in twenty ten, twenty eleven, twenty twelve,
8:58
Speaker 3: I think these countries will support Before that, they were
9:01
Speaker 3: supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. They had welcomed them, they had
9:05
Speaker 3: given access to their institutions of socialization, and then they
9:09
Speaker 3: discovered that the ideology that the Muslim Brotherhood was committed
9:14
Speaker 3: to was one that wanted to overthrow them. And from
9:17
Speaker 3: that moment they were able to do that utah where
9:21
Speaker 3: they kicked out. They banned the Muslim Brotherhood, understanding them
9:25
Speaker 3: number one to be a subversive effort, and terrorism and
9:28
Speaker 3: jihadism is sort of a tool to help the subversive effort.
9:33
Speaker 3: So the Muslim Brotherhood is banned in the UAE, they
9:38
Speaker 3: are banned in Egypt, in all of these countries, and
9:43
Speaker 3: I think we should be doing the same thing. The
9:45
Speaker 3: thing about the danger for us in Europe and in
9:49
Speaker 3: the United States is the Muslim Brotherhood comes in legitimately saying, hey,
9:55
Speaker 3: all we're doing is observing religion. We are taking advantage
9:59
Speaker 3: of our freedom for association, freedom of speech, freedom of
10:02
Speaker 3: freedom of freedom of and they're using these freedoms to
10:07
Speaker 3: subvert our own societies. And I think that is the
10:11
Speaker 3: trick for us. You, as a senator in Congress, you're
10:16
Speaker 3: going to have to grapple with the question, how do
10:19
Speaker 3: I deal with a subversive effort like this one that's
10:22
Speaker 3: seeking to destroy our system while at the same time
10:27
Speaker 3: not violating those freedoms. That's something that some of these
10:30
Speaker 3: Arab countries don't have to deal with. Singapore doesn't want
10:33
Speaker 3: to deal with. That's our problem. I compare the Muslim Brotherhood.
10:38
Speaker 3: If you ask me, if can you explain it to
10:40
Speaker 3: someone who doesn't know, I'll say, hey, if you live
10:43
Speaker 3: in Texas, have you ever been confronted with a termite infestation?
10:48
Speaker 3: When I was little and we lived in Mogadishu, we
10:50
Speaker 3: had termites and they would eat up into some of
10:54
Speaker 3: this valuable wooden. Like my grandmother had this enormous cupboard
10:59
Speaker 3: that she had been moving from Adam and Yemen all
11:02
Speaker 3: the way here, and from one day to the next,
11:04
Speaker 3: the whole thing came it. She moved it and it
11:07
Speaker 3: just fell and she discovered in the back what these
11:11
Speaker 3: teeny tiny termites that were acting as a colony. They
11:14
Speaker 3: were eating away at it. And that is the Muslim Brotherhood.
11:18
Speaker 3: It's a bottom up operation. It's decentralized, it's globalized. One
11:23
Speaker 3: day they'll speak the language of peace and unity and
11:27
Speaker 3: the next the language of jihad and war and it's very,
11:31
Speaker 3: very difficult for us to look at this, but because
11:34
Speaker 3: they've been around since nineteen twenty eight, for those of
11:38
Speaker 3: us who really want to see the truth, we can
11:41
Speaker 3: see it. We know how they operate, we know who
11:44
Speaker 3: they are, We know that they go through universities, the media,
11:49
Speaker 3: the elites, through commerce, and so now that we have
11:53
Speaker 3: this big picture, we just need the carriage and the
11:56
Speaker 3: political will to say, you are not going to do
11:58
Speaker 3: to the United States you did to Europe. You're not
12:01
Speaker 3: going to do to Europe what you did to Nigeria
12:03
Speaker 3: and to other parts of Africa yep, Unisia, India, et cetera.
12:07
Speaker 1: Many of you may not know this. I've actually owned
12:10
Speaker 1: two different barbecue restaurants, one right now. And the quality
12:14
Speaker 1: of meat when you want to make amazing food is
12:17
Speaker 1: so vitally important. Now you've heard a big pharm up,
12:20
Speaker 1: but have you ever heard a big ag Did you
12:22
Speaker 1: know that eighty five percent of American beef is controlled
12:25
Speaker 1: by just four major companies. Just because you buy American
12:29
Speaker 1: doesn't mean you're buying healthy and buying organic only means
12:34
Speaker 1: they control what the cattle eat, not how they live. Well,
12:37
Speaker 1: that's why I want you to know about Backyard Butchers.
12:41
Speaker 1: It is Texas steer steaks that come directly from a
12:44
Speaker 1: real Texas ranch where the cattle are raised, process and
12:48
Speaker 1: ship from the same location completely bypassing Big AG. These
12:53
Speaker 1: Texas steers are ninety eight percent grass fed and then
12:57
Speaker 1: two percent natural grain finish. That's how you get amazing
13:01
Speaker 1: steaks with no growth hormones, no antibiotics, and no preservatives.
13:07
Speaker 1: The quality and flavor are just straight up exceptional. Making
13:11
Speaker 1: America healthy again. Yes, that is a big deal, and
13:14
Speaker 1: it starts with going back to our roots and eating
13:17
Speaker 1: real meat from the hard working ranchers who raise cattle
13:21
Speaker 1: the right way. So try it, you're gonna love it.
13:25
Speaker 1: So go to Backyard Butchers dot Com into the promo
13:28

13:36
Speaker 1: fight back against Big AG with your fork, Support American ranchers,
13:40
Speaker 1: support Texas and you're gonna get a great meal. Backyard
13:44
Speaker 1: Butchers dot Com promo code Verdict to get up to
13:47
Speaker 1: thirty percent off and two free ten ounce ribbis plus
13:51
Speaker 1: free shipping Right now the US, it seems to be
13:55
Speaker 1: really really I think smart in a way where it's
13:58
Speaker 1: almost like they have time where they grow while dormant,
14:01
Speaker 1: while peaceful, And as I've studied them more than I
14:05
Speaker 1: I honestly ever thought I would because of what we've
14:08
Speaker 1: seen over the last fifteen years, it's like they have
14:12
Speaker 1: these these ups and downs where it's like, here's a
14:14
Speaker 1: time to build and be quiet and look like we're
14:16
Speaker 1: peaceful as we plan for the next big thing that
14:19
Speaker 1: we do. Is that part of the reason why they've
14:21
Speaker 1: been able to stay around and continue to grow around
14:24
Speaker 1: the world for so long.
14:25
Speaker 3: Absolutely also because they operate on a different timeline that
14:30
Speaker 3: it's very important to bear that in mind. They know
14:33
Speaker 3: that in the United States, we operate, oh yeah, two
14:36
Speaker 3: years to the midterm, four years to the presidential election.
14:39
Speaker 3: So they think, oh, these white Western Christians they have
14:42
Speaker 3: two year and four year timelines. They have one hundred
14:46
Speaker 3: year timeline two hundred and three hundred as long as
14:49
Speaker 3: Islam becomes dominant and they can impose Sharia that is
14:52
Speaker 3: their faith. Number one. Number Two, they form alliances with
14:58
Speaker 3: organizations and movements that are completely different from them. So
15:02
Speaker 3: for instance, the Communist Marxists again infestation that is there
15:08
Speaker 3: to destroy us. They form alliances with them because they
15:12
Speaker 3: have that common goal of as long as we bring
15:15
Speaker 3: down the structures of America, way down down the road,
15:20
Speaker 3: we're going to figure out who is going to dominate. Now,
15:25
Speaker 3: let me give you one hint. In the years prior
15:28
Speaker 3: to nineteen seventeen nine in Iran the Islamists and the
15:33
Speaker 3: Marxists were operating together. What happened when they succeeded in
15:38
Speaker 3: their goal of destroying the Shah and his regime. The
15:43
Speaker 3: Islamists then destroyed the Communists. So that is a warning
15:47
Speaker 3: for the Marxist to say, I don't know who's going
15:51
Speaker 3: to destroy itself.
15:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, So what do you make of the Red Green Alliance?
15:57
Speaker 2: And that seems to be that the energy and passion
16:02
Speaker 2: behind Zood Mandani? What do you make of Mandani? And
16:08
Speaker 2: as someone who has come from Somalia, who has seen this,
16:12
Speaker 2: how do you assess what's happening in New York.
16:15
Speaker 3: Well, the way I see it is Mamdani is a
16:19
Speaker 3: reflection of both movements. So he is a watermelon, the
16:23
Speaker 3: son of a watermelon, and he comes in.
16:28
Speaker 2: Saying, explain watermelon to someone who hasn't heard that before.
16:31
Speaker 3: It's the Red Green Alliance. If you've ever seen a watermelon,
16:35
Speaker 3: it's green on the outside. We say Islamist or political
16:38
Speaker 3: Islam on the outside, and read communist or Marxist on
16:43
Speaker 3: the inside. So they have a common objective, which is
16:46
Speaker 3: the hate capitalism. They hate our system of government. They
16:51
Speaker 3: have each of them. There's the green utopia, which is
16:55
Speaker 3: the world is going to be dominated by Islam and
16:58
Speaker 3: we'll have shari la then everything will be well. And
17:01
Speaker 3: then of course you have the red the Marxists that
17:04
Speaker 3: they're going to destroy capitalism and.
17:06
Speaker 2: So ayan what does it mean to live under sharia law?
17:10
Speaker 2: Like what would it mean for America if the Islamists succeeded,
17:14
Speaker 2: as they're moving closer and closer to doing in Europe,
17:16
Speaker 2: What would that mean As a practical matter.
17:19
Speaker 3: It would mean a great deal of violence, chaos. Women
17:24
Speaker 3: will be the subjects of men. I mean, they'll have
17:27
Speaker 3: absolutely no rights. Non Muslims will be subjected to the
17:35
Speaker 3: Jews are How do I explain that it's a lower
17:38
Speaker 3: status for non Muslims if you're only people of the book,
17:42
Speaker 3: Because if you're Jewish, you're going to be subjected to
17:45
Speaker 3: what Jewish people who are subjected to. On October seven,
17:49
Speaker 3: you see these.
17:50
Speaker 2: You're talking about violence and rape and murder, violence.
17:54
Speaker 3: Rape matter. I'm talking about floggings, public floggings. I'm talking
17:58
Speaker 3: about public stonings. Some of the horrors that you now
18:01
Speaker 3: see in Nigeria, you see in parts of Indonesia, you
18:03
Speaker 3: saw in Afghanistan, you still see it. Do you remember
18:06
Speaker 3: how the Taliban had promised a few years ago to
18:10
Speaker 3: the Biden administration or we're not we're going to give
18:12
Speaker 3: women their rights, but they have denied women rights to
18:15
Speaker 3: go to school, they have denied women tried to do anything. Basically,
18:18
Speaker 3: you become sun factories. It is what I was told
18:23
Speaker 3: when I was forced into marriage. The man I was
18:26
Speaker 3: about to be married of, he said, you're going to
18:28
Speaker 3: have six sons for me or else. This is well known.
18:33
Speaker 3: I mean, it is going to be. It's going to
18:36
Speaker 3: be the worst human existence you can ever imagine. It's
18:40
Speaker 3: a death cult.
18:42
Speaker 2: Okay, so ye on, let me ask you why. Because
18:44
Speaker 2: on the left, many leftists also consider themselves feminists, and
18:49
Speaker 2: by the way, other leftists consider themselves LGBT activist. Is
18:56
Speaker 2: Islamism consistent with any feminists notion or any notion of LGBT.
19:02
Speaker 3: Rights absolutely not Look in the countries where Sharia law
19:08
Speaker 3: is actually applied. Homosexuals, the LGBT community, they are taken
19:15
Speaker 3: to the tallest structures, tallest buildings, towers or whatever, and
19:18
Speaker 3: they're thrown off from there. That is the law. The
19:21
Speaker 3: law is to execute homosexuals. Women are to be covered
19:26
Speaker 3: and not to be seen. They are completely submissive. So
19:30
Speaker 3: that is sharier law as it is applied anywhere in reality.
19:34
Speaker 3: But there is this political expediency where people who are
19:39
Speaker 3: on the far left, the Antifas of this world, the
19:41
Speaker 3: Mamdani or one wing of the Mamdani followers, they think
19:47
Speaker 3: we are the ones. Once we get you know, once
19:49
Speaker 3: we destroy America, once we destroy the existing structures, they
19:52
Speaker 3: think that they're going to dominate, and that's just not
19:55
Speaker 3: how it works. But hey, why spoil their party? If
19:59
Speaker 3: Okasio quote thinks that she and mom Danny have something
20:02
Speaker 3: in common, why spoil the party. I think the rest
20:06
Speaker 3: of us are going to say, no, we don't want
20:08
Speaker 3: any of these collectivists subversive efforts and ask the question,
20:13
Speaker 3: how is it possible that the capitalist city, the finance
20:17
Speaker 3: city of the wild Manhattan is about to elect these people?
20:24
Speaker 2: And what's your take on that? Are you surprised by
20:26
Speaker 2: the rise of Mandani. What is given your life experience.
20:31
Speaker 2: Is this surprising to you or not?
20:35
Speaker 3: It's not surprising because in the last thirty forty years,
20:40
Speaker 3: I think what we have seen is this display of
20:44
Speaker 3: extreme lethal carelessness on the part of American elites, where
20:51
Speaker 3: we have come to think of ourselves as invincible. We
20:55
Speaker 3: just think if we have enough materialism, that everybody is
20:59
Speaker 3: going to be attractive to who we are and what
21:01
Speaker 3: we do, and we don't have to worry about these
21:04
Speaker 3: collectivist ideologies. We kill the Christianity, we kill the spirituality.
21:08
Speaker 3: We turned our backs on our foundational principles, and we're
21:13
Speaker 3: paying the price. And we're paying the price because our
21:16
Speaker 3: institutions of education from K to twelve, the universities, we've
21:21
Speaker 3: allowed these people to take over and to preach. And
21:23
Speaker 3: when I look at a stadium full of people in
21:26
Speaker 3: New York that are cheering on Ocasio Cortez and Mom Danny,
21:30
Speaker 3: I think we are paying the price of this carelessness.
21:33
Speaker 1: For me, being able to protect my family is my
21:36
Speaker 1: number one priority. And you've heard me talk to my
21:38
Speaker 1: good friend Josh from Berna about real stories of people
21:42
Speaker 1: just like you and me that have used their Burner
21:44
Speaker 1: launcher protect themselves and their families. Now, berner is a
21:48
Speaker 1: handheld pistol that fires both kinetic rounds and chemical irritants
21:52
Speaker 1: to separate you from an attacker. You can see the
21:55
Speaker 1: videos of how this works at Berna dot com and
21:58
Speaker 1: I'll tell you more about that in a moment. But Josh,
22:00
Speaker 1: just back with me today to tell a story of
22:02
Speaker 1: how I burn a launcher could help avoid a tragedy.
22:06
Speaker 1: This was actually a story that happened in my hometown
22:09
Speaker 1: of Houston.
22:10
Speaker 4: This is such a tragic story that just recently happened.
22:13
Speaker 4: One night recently here in Houston, an eleven year old
22:16
Speaker 4: Julian Gouzlin and his cousin were banging on neighbors doors
22:19
Speaker 4: and running away before they were answered a generation's old
22:22
Speaker 4: game that we all know is ding dong ditch well.
22:24
Speaker 4: When they came to the residence of Gonzalo Lee On Junior.
22:26
Speaker 4: Gonzalo would later state that the two banged on his
22:29
Speaker 4: door multiple times, and believing they were there to try
22:32
Speaker 4: to break into his home, Gonzalo exited the house and
22:35
Speaker 4: fired at Julian with a handgun, ultimately killing him. Now,
22:39
Speaker 4: while in Texas, like many States we have strong standiard
22:42
Speaker 4: ground and castle doctrine laws, but homeowners still may only
22:45
Speaker 4: use deadly force when it's immediately necessary to prevent assault, robbery,
22:49
Speaker 4: or other crimes after someone unlawfully enters their property. And
22:52
Speaker 4: I think everyone can agree that no matter where you live.
22:55
Speaker 4: And in this case, that did not meet those requirements,
22:58
Speaker 4: and unfortunately the homeowner in this case is no. I've
23:00
Speaker 4: been arrested for murder with a bond set of a
23:02
Speaker 4: million dollars and prosecutors have stated that they will be
23:05
Speaker 4: seeking the death penalty.
23:06
Speaker 1: If a homeowner thinks someone may be breaking in, what
23:09
Speaker 1: should their priorities be and how should burn A fit
23:12
Speaker 1: into that plan is a really important question everyone should
23:15
Speaker 1: be asking.
23:16
Speaker 4: No matter where you live, your plan should be to
23:19
Speaker 4: escape to get to a safe location, and many times
23:21
Speaker 4: that doesn't mean engaging the intruders directly. Burn is great
23:25
Speaker 4: for using either chemical arounds with the kinetic grounds to
23:27
Speaker 4: buy you and your family time to get out and
23:30
Speaker 4: get to safety, which should be your main priority.
23:32
Speaker 1: If you want to know more about exactly what BURNA
23:36
Speaker 1: can do to help you protect your family, see the
23:38
Speaker 1: videos and see how it works. Go to burn up
23:41
Speaker 1: BYRNA dot com. There's a reason why I bought it
23:44
Speaker 1: for all of my family members and why I have
23:46
Speaker 1: it in every one of my cars. Burn up b
23:49
Speaker 1: Why RNA dot com? Again, that's burna dot com. I
23:53
Speaker 1: asked you this question. You look at Europe for a second,
23:56
Speaker 1: and as Senator said earlier, hopefully they're ten to twenty
24:00
Speaker 1: years ahead of us and that we can actually combat
24:04
Speaker 1: this before it gets to that point. But when you
24:06
Speaker 1: look at Mandani and AOC and the Lamo Mars and
24:09
Speaker 1: the others that have really started to grow and they
24:13
Speaker 1: have a genuine following in the uniteds America, how much
24:17
Speaker 1: of the plan of the Muslim brotherhood and excitement is
24:19
Speaker 1: there to know? They have these types of advocates that
24:22
Speaker 1: aren't just saying things yes, but are getting elected and
24:25
Speaker 1: are becoming more powerful.
24:27
Speaker 3: So I think there's a scenario where in America I'm
24:31
Speaker 3: more hopeful because at least eighty percent of Americans don't
24:36
Speaker 3: believe in this BS. We have people who come from
24:39
Speaker 3: Latin American places like Venezuela, Cuba, I mean, Sanata, Cruz.
24:44
Speaker 3: You know this better than I do. People like me.
24:48
Speaker 3: I've lived through that BS, so I know I don't
24:51
Speaker 3: want communism. Okay, I'm not illan.
24:54
Speaker 2: You're experience at vers hand, Yeah, I've experienced.
24:57
Speaker 3: Yeah. So if we get it right in America, and
25:01
Speaker 3: I think we can get it right in America, we
25:05
Speaker 3: are in a place maybe where we can be of
25:07
Speaker 3: help and rescue our European counterparts and the rest of
25:11
Speaker 3: Western civilization.
25:13
Speaker 2: So let me ask you a bit. Let me ask
25:16
Speaker 2: a bit more about your personal journey. So you were
25:19
Speaker 2: raised as a Muslim, and you embraced for a period
25:22
Speaker 2: of time political Islam, Islamism, and then then you came
25:26
Speaker 2: to reject it, and you spent a lot of years
25:30
Speaker 2: as a very vocal atheist. And my understanding is now
25:33
Speaker 2: you become a Christian, and I'd love to hear about
25:37
Speaker 2: about why you became a Christian.
25:41
Speaker 3: I think maybe you should see that sort of like
25:43
Speaker 3: a ripening, like peeling away. When you first come to
25:46
Speaker 3: Western civilization, you see the glitter and glamor, which is
25:50
Speaker 3: what I saw when I landed in Frankote in nineteen
25:53
Speaker 3: ninety two. My goodness, everything was gleaming, these tall buildings
25:57
Speaker 3: and wealth, and so you go beyond that layer and
26:00
Speaker 3: I started to ask questions why these countries rich and
26:04
Speaker 3: united and solid. While where I come from, even though
26:09
Speaker 3: we claim to have the last profit and we claim
26:12
Speaker 3: to be superior morally speaking, why are we living in impublishment?
26:18
Speaker 3: Why are we here begging for arts? And when I
26:22
Speaker 3: took political science in the University of Leiden, I was
26:25
Speaker 3: lucky enough to have professors that taught me to keep
26:29
Speaker 3: asking questions, to learn how to think, not what to think.
26:34
Speaker 3: And my tribute goes to these professors. One of them
26:39
Speaker 3: recently died, Professor Anderwech, who is really empirical. I mean,
26:43
Speaker 3: he taught me you've got to understand what it is
26:46
Speaker 3: before you talk about what should be. But at any
26:52
Speaker 3: in any case, I want to say, having lived through
26:57
Speaker 3: and touched the bottom of the promised utopia of sharia law,
27:03
Speaker 3: the promised topia of communism, and knowing there is nothing
27:06
Speaker 3: there but death like poverty, there is nothing there but
27:13
Speaker 3: oppression and suppression, There's nothing there but misery. I'm in
27:19
Speaker 3: a place where now I have come to see that
27:23
Speaker 3: the only way we fight those ideologies is by getting
27:27
Speaker 3: to the bottom of what are then the solid foundations
27:31
Speaker 3: of Western civilization. That is Biblical, it's judae or Christian.
27:36
Speaker 2: It is.
27:39
Speaker 3: The salmon on the Mound. I mean, there is no
27:41
Speaker 3: denying it. It is the principles on which America is
27:44
Speaker 3: founded on. And right now America has been served well.
27:49
Speaker 3: But over time, I think if you have two competing ideas,
27:54
Speaker 3: it's the idea of communism, it's the idea of Islamism,
27:58
Speaker 3: and then it's the idea of America. And I want
28:00
Speaker 3: the idea of America to win and I want to
28:03
Speaker 3: dedicate my life to that.
28:05
Speaker 2: Amen, let me ask you. We were talking about the
28:08
Speaker 2: Muslim Brotherhood. For our listeners, tell them what is the
28:13
Speaker 2: Muslim Brotherhood? As you know, I've had I have legislation
28:16
Speaker 2: I've introduced in multiple Congresses to designate the Muslim Brotherhood
28:20
Speaker 2: as a terrorist organization. And in the first Trump administration
28:24
Speaker 2: I came close to succeeding. I didn't quite convince the
28:27
Speaker 2: President in the first term to designate the Muslim Brotherhood
28:29
Speaker 2: as a terrorist organization. I believe I will succeed in
28:33
Speaker 2: the second term. I think we're going to get it designated.
28:35
Speaker 2: But tell us give it a little give us a
28:37
Speaker 2: little bit of history and context of what the Brotherhood
28:40
Speaker 2: is and your judgment on whether it is in fact
28:44
Speaker 2: a terrorist organization and should be designated as such.
28:50
Speaker 3: I think the challenge for you, Senator Cruz, is going
28:52
Speaker 3: to be that you are going to have to understand
28:56
Speaker 3: the two concepts as you legislate, and it's going to
28:59
Speaker 3: be difficult, but I think you can do it. One
29:03
Speaker 3: part of it is the terrorist aspect of it, which
29:05
Speaker 3: is the application of jihad or violence. The other aspect,
29:10
Speaker 3: the other side of the Muslim Brotherhood, is the subversive
29:13
Speaker 3: effort which we have had. We are an open society.
29:19
Speaker 3: Maybe we will debate what an open society means or
29:22
Speaker 3: doesn't mean, but it's easy to access open societies if
29:31
Speaker 3: you are a subversive, if you apply the subversive method,
29:38
Speaker 3: and so for you on a legislative basis, you will
29:44
Speaker 3: have to not only address the terrorist aspect which carries
29:48
Speaker 3: the violence, but also the DAA, the subversive part of it.
29:52
Speaker 3: The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in nineteen twenty eight by
29:55
Speaker 3: a teacher, Hassan Albana in Egypt, and what he understood
30:01
Speaker 3: was that he had to deal with the fragmentation of Islam.
30:08
Speaker 3: As he understood it, Islam was no longer an empire.
30:12
Speaker 3: Islam now was subjugated to the European powers that had
30:15
Speaker 3: developed nation states. In the nation state of Egypt, he
30:21
Speaker 3: understood that if he ever wanted to get state power,
30:24
Speaker 3: he would have to work very slowly and bottom up.
30:28
Speaker 3: Start with the individual, the family, society. He preached about
30:35
Speaker 3: forming charities and then over time and time for them
30:41
Speaker 3: seems a completely different concept than what we have having
30:46
Speaker 3: persuaded as many people as possible taking on the levers
30:51
Speaker 3: of the state. That is the method that they apply.
30:55
Speaker 3: They've honed it. This is a method that's now become
31:00
Speaker 3: improved over time. In Arab countries, it no longer works
31:07
Speaker 3: because Arab dominating governments have come to understand that this
31:12
Speaker 3: thing has come for them, So now they work. In
31:15
Speaker 3: Europe and in America, they set up masks and then schools,
31:22
Speaker 3: Islamic centers. They'll apply a whole neighborhood and over time
31:26
Speaker 3: they want to grow and like do you remember the
31:29
Speaker 3: litmus paper when you drop, sure, just the way it spreads.
31:35
Speaker 3: That is the way they wanted to take over societies,
31:37
Speaker 3: and they have succeeded. I mean, look at Dearborn, Michigan
31:42
Speaker 3: for us in the United States of America, but when
31:44
Speaker 3: you go to the UK, France, Sweden, these are societies
31:48
Speaker 3: that are being taken over as they watch it and
31:52
Speaker 3: they stand there and they all say, there's nothing we
31:54
Speaker 3: can do because of the constitution. So the local constitutions,
31:59
Speaker 3: national construtitutions have become documents that the Muslim Brotherhood can
32:06
Speaker 3: wave to say you can't stop us, because everything we
32:09
Speaker 3: do is legal, everything we do is peaceful or nonviolent.
32:13
Speaker 3: They'll apply the violence when they need it, but clearly
32:16
Speaker 3: they don't need to apply the violence because with.
32:18
Speaker 2: The explained to an American who has not seen it,
32:24
Speaker 2: you just talked about how European countries were taken over
32:27
Speaker 2: by the Brotherhood in Islabis, make that real. Explain what
32:30
Speaker 2: that means and what exactly has happened, because I think
32:33
Speaker 2: that is a powerful warning to what could happen here
32:36
Speaker 2: as well.
32:37
Speaker 3: When I was a member of Parliament in two thousand
32:40
Speaker 3: and six and I was brought in to be the
32:45
Speaker 3: voice of modernity in Westernism, here's a woman from Somalia, whatever,
32:51
Speaker 3: look at her, she has assimilated, blah blah blah. So
32:54
Speaker 3: they brought me in. But then in two thousand and
32:57
Speaker 3: six we had local elections. The local election the Netherlands
33:01
Speaker 3: is a very small country and there are four large
33:03
Speaker 3: cities the Hague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht. If my party,
33:10
Speaker 3: the VVD, which was the center right party, wanted to
33:13
Speaker 3: win any of these urban cities, I had to be
33:17
Speaker 3: told to go there and say Islam is a religion
33:20
Speaker 3: of peace. I said, I'm not going to say anything
33:22
Speaker 3: of the sort. I've got six armed guards. I'm not
33:27
Speaker 3: going to say ISLAMI is a religion of peace.
33:31
Speaker 2: Repeat that for a second. You had six arm guards.
33:34
Speaker 2: Why is that who was trying to kill you?
33:37
Speaker 3: What I was the people who were trying to kill
33:39
Speaker 3: me was the protected minority of Muslims, many of them
33:43
Speaker 3: who were radicalized by the Muslim local Muslim brotherhood in
33:47
Speaker 3: the Netherlands, and the local Muslim brotherhood had control of
33:55
Speaker 3: the larger Muslim communities, and at that point we knew
33:59
Speaker 3: that not all Muslims in the Netherlands were loyal to them.
34:03
Speaker 3: But it was like the mafia. If you're a Muslim
34:07
Speaker 3: living in the Netherlands in one of these large cities,
34:09
Speaker 3: if they told you vote this way, you vote that way.
34:12
Speaker 3: And so the woman who was sort of sent in
34:15
Speaker 3: their colored immigrant whatever, she was saying, I can't win
34:20
Speaker 3: the votes. If Ian is saying is making these statements
34:25
Speaker 3: about Islam and the position of women and homosexuals and
34:29
Speaker 3: Christians and Jews and all of these things. So in
34:32
Speaker 3: order for me to win the vote, or to even
34:35
Speaker 3: be competitive, I have to at least accommodate them in
34:40
Speaker 3: some of these policies. Now, what are the policies that
34:42
Speaker 3: they were looking for. They wanted to enshrine Islamophobia as law.
34:47
Speaker 3: They wanted to the government of the Netherlands to leave
34:51
Speaker 3: them alone so that they could treat women the way
34:53
Speaker 3: they wanted. They wanted FGM, they wanted on a killing.
34:57
Speaker 2: They just wanted to explain FG.
35:01
Speaker 3: Female general mutilation, that is the cutting of the genitals
35:04
Speaker 3: of women. I mean it is as a five year
35:06
Speaker 3: old girl. They take I'm talking to men here, but
35:12
Speaker 3: to look at the female generals. You cut the inner
35:14
Speaker 3: labya the outer labya, and you saw so that you
35:17
Speaker 3: know on the day of your wedding you can be
35:19
Speaker 3: presented to your husband as a virgin. And this is
35:23
Speaker 3: this is something that predated Islam, but obviously embraced by
35:27
Speaker 3: Muslims and spread across the globe by the Muslim brotherhood.
35:32
Speaker 3: But this is some of the policies that we had
35:34
Speaker 3: to deal with they had. They wanted Sharia tribunals for marriage,
35:37
Speaker 3: divorce and that sort of thing. They were bringing in
35:40
Speaker 3: Sharia in a stealthily way. And if you wanted to
35:45
Speaker 3: win these elections in these large cities. That was in
35:50
Speaker 3: the Netherlands, but now it's in France, it's in Belgium,
35:53
Speaker 3: it's in the United Kingdom, it's all over Europe. So
35:56
Speaker 3: we're talking about demographics which they control. And so as
36:00
Speaker 3: a politician, I think you understand numbers when it comes
36:05
Speaker 3: to winning elections, and they held those numbers, and this
36:09
Speaker 3: is what you have to understand. So you can't just
36:10
Speaker 3: legislate on the tell. You can't just declare them a
36:13
Speaker 3: terrorist organization. You have to deal with the subversive efforts,
36:18
Speaker 3: the fact that they control schools, boarding schools.
36:21
Speaker 1: I want to take a moment and just talk to
36:23
Speaker 1: you real quick about an incredible opportunity for you to
36:26
Speaker 1: continue to expand your mind and learn, no matter what
36:30
Speaker 1: your age is. Senator Cruz and I were at the
36:33
Speaker 1: memorial service for Charlie Kirk and one of the people
36:36
Speaker 1: that spoke was the president of Hillsdale College, and he
36:39
Speaker 1: talked about meeting with Charlie early on and how he
36:41
Speaker 1: said you're going to have to work hard, You're going
36:45
Speaker 1: to have to suffer, and you're going to have to
36:47
Speaker 1: continue to learn when he was so young, and he
36:50
Speaker 1: talked about all of the classes that Charlie ended up
36:54
Speaker 1: taking at Hillsdale. I immediately said, I want the listeners
36:59
Speaker 1: of this show to be able to have the same
37:00
Speaker 1: opportunity to do that. There are amazing classes history, economics,
37:05
Speaker 1: the great works of literature, the meaning of the US Constitution.
37:09
Speaker 1: And if you didn't say these things in school, or
37:11
Speaker 1: maybe you did, but you were, like, you know, just
37:12
Speaker 1: trying to check the box and make the grade when
37:14
Speaker 1: you're twenty, Now is a great time for you to
37:17
Speaker 1: go back and learn so much more. Hillsdale College is
37:21
Speaker 1: offering more than forty free I want to say that again,
37:25
Speaker 1: forty free online courses. That's right, more than forty free
37:30
Speaker 1: online courses. You can learn about the works of C. S. Lewis,
37:33
Speaker 1: the stories in the Book of Genesis, the meaning of
37:36
Speaker 1: the US Constitution. I'm doing that when it's incredible, the
37:39
Speaker 1: rise and fall of the Roman Republic, or the history
37:42
Speaker 1: of the ancient Christian Church. With Hidale College's free online courses,
37:46
Speaker 1: now I'm also looking at the Constitution one on one.
37:49
Speaker 1: It's amazing. I refresh your course and you can see
37:52
Speaker 1: and explore the design, the purpose of the Constitution, the
37:55
Speaker 1: challenges it faced in the Civil War, and how it's
37:58
Speaker 1: been undermined for more than a century by progressives and liberals.
38:03
Speaker 1: This twelve lecture course is self paced, so you start
38:07
Speaker 1: whenever you want to, and it is truly amazing. So
38:12
Speaker 1: how do you do this? You can go right now
38:14
Speaker 1: to Hillsdale dot edu slash verdict to enroll. There is
38:21
Speaker 1: no cost and it's easy to get started. That's Hillsdale
38:25
Speaker 1: dot edu slash verdict v E r dict to enroll
38:31
Speaker 1: for free and take any one of these classes. Take
38:35
Speaker 1: advantage of it. It's free Hillsdale dot edu slash v
38:39
Speaker 1: E R d I c T Verdict and go check
38:42
Speaker 1: out the amazing classes they have there.
38:44
Speaker 2: Tell us what's happening in Nigeria, And as you know,
38:47
Speaker 2: I've been very vocal calling out the mass murder of Christians.
38:51
Speaker 2: Over fifty thousand Christians have been murdered in Nigeria since
38:54
Speaker 2: two thousand and nine. Over twenty thousand churches and schools
38:58
Speaker 2: have been destroyed, burned the ground and you have Boko
39:02
Speaker 2: Haram and other radical Islamic terrorist groups that are targeting
39:05
Speaker 2: and persecuting Christians in particular. And I will tell you
39:08
Speaker 2: the government of Nigeria is very unhappy with me. They
39:10
Speaker 2: have decried my saying this. I have introduced legislation to
39:14
Speaker 2: designate them a country a special concern And the government
39:18
Speaker 2: in Nigeria is very unhappy. And I've said, look that
39:21
Speaker 2: there are far too many government leaders who have turned
39:23
Speaker 2: a blind eyed to what is happening, who have acquiesced
39:25
Speaker 2: in what is happening, who are enforcing either Sharia laws
39:29
Speaker 2: or blasphemy laws and facilitating the persecution of Christians. And
39:33
Speaker 2: as I said, the Nigerian government has been vigorously resisting
39:38
Speaker 2: me in this. Give me your judgment. What do you
39:41
Speaker 2: see happening in Nigeria and what do you think is
39:44
Speaker 2: actually the truth.
39:49
Speaker 3: Nigeria is the most important African country. It has the
39:53
Speaker 3: largest population and obviously there's a vying for control between
39:58
Speaker 3: on the one hand, the Islamic States of Nigeria and
40:03
Speaker 3: the Christian States of Nigeria. And it used to be
40:08
Speaker 3: about fifty to fifty, but because the Islamist movement, Bokoharam
40:14
Speaker 3: and others. They want to apply force, the Jihadis force.
40:18
Speaker 3: It's sort of gruesome killing that we've seen in October seven,
40:22
Speaker 3: twenty twenty three in Israel. So what is going on
40:26
Speaker 3: in Nigeria. The Islamists in Nigeria are killing Christians, They're
40:32
Speaker 3: burning their churches, They're raping their women, they are invoking
40:37
Speaker 3: blasphemilais So in the southern regions of Nigeria, Sharia law
40:42
Speaker 3: is the law. And if you say Tadkruz has you
40:46
Speaker 3: know he said something bad against Islam, you can have
40:49
Speaker 3: a mob come and lynch you and there's nothing you
40:51
Speaker 3: can do about it. But then the government should be
40:53
Speaker 3: doing something about it. And the government isn't doing anything
40:56
Speaker 3: about it. Now, what is the characteristic of the government
40:59
Speaker 3: of nai It's corrupt. The elites in Nigeria, whether they
41:03
Speaker 3: are Muslim or whether they are Christian, they're in this bubble,
41:08
Speaker 3: and I think that bubble has to be burst in
41:10
Speaker 3: a comfort bubble. I don't really think that they care
41:12
Speaker 3: about that much about or are hell responsible or accountable
41:16
Speaker 3: or transparent for what is going on with a large
41:19
Speaker 3: majority of the Nigerian population. And that's what you see.
41:24
Speaker 3: And we give a lot of money as the United
41:26
Speaker 3: States and legitimacy to this government. We've got to hold
41:30
Speaker 3: them accountable. And I couldn't be more pleased that you
41:34
Speaker 3: are involved in this, Senator Cruz, you're calling them out
41:37
Speaker 3: and you're going to say, if you want to be Allian,
41:40
Speaker 3: our friend, we need you to uphold your end of
41:43
Speaker 3: being a responsible and responsive government. There's a goal.
41:47
Speaker 2: There are more Christians being murdered in Nigeria than any
41:51
Speaker 2: country on planet Earth. Now, one thing you said that
41:54
Speaker 2: I thought was interesting and I think many of our
41:56
Speaker 2: listeners will not have heard this before you said your judgment,
42:00
Speaker 2: Nigeria is the most important African country. To tell tell
42:05
Speaker 2: our listeners why that is because many will will not
42:07
Speaker 2: have a deep familiarity with that.
42:10
Speaker 3: It has the largest population, it has oil resources, the
42:14
Speaker 3: population is very young, it's English speaking, highly educated. Let
42:18
Speaker 3: me just give you an example, Kemi Barano, I hope
42:22
Speaker 3: the future Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is from
42:25
Speaker 3: Nigeria and is Christian. So if we were, if you know,
42:29
Speaker 3: in our relationship with right now Prussia, China, et cetera.
42:36
Speaker 3: I think the continent as a whole, the continent of Africa,
42:40
Speaker 3: which is home to over a billion people.
42:43
Speaker 2: Yes, and growing a young population that is growing.
42:48
Speaker 3: It's the youngest population and it's the only population on
42:50
Speaker 3: planet art that is growing as happily as it's doing right,
42:55
Speaker 3: And so Nigeria is strategically important. Nigeria is is a
43:00
Speaker 3: sort of country that should be our ally and there
43:04
Speaker 3: is a huge Christian population that means they share norms
43:09
Speaker 3: and values with us and we should not be abandoning Nigeria.
43:14
Speaker 3: And so the population is pro American. But then they
43:19
Speaker 3: are let down by their government. And I think that
43:22
Speaker 3: can change if we were even to bring a little
43:25
Speaker 3: bit of leverage down on them.
43:27
Speaker 1: Because when we have that leverage. When you say a
43:30
Speaker 1: little bit of leverage, what do you mean, like, what
43:32
Speaker 1: would the leverage look like that you think could could
43:36
Speaker 1: literally save lives, especially Christian lives and Nigeria who are
43:40
Speaker 1: being attacked right now.
43:42
Speaker 3: Well, it starts from the amounts of development aid money
43:47
Speaker 3: that we give them. We could apply sanctions.
43:54
Speaker 2: I mean, well, my legislation with sanctions particular government officials,
44:01
Speaker 2: so government officials at the local level who are engaged
44:05
Speaker 2: in facilitating and acquiescing in this persecution. And so it's
44:09
Speaker 2: designed to use the power of the US economy and
44:14
Speaker 2: US sanctions to incentivize different behavior.
44:18
Speaker 3: Absolutely, and incentivized as legitimacy is really important for them
44:24
Speaker 3: to keep their money in America to you know, all
44:27
Speaker 3: of these the private jets they come and they play
44:31
Speaker 3: in America and American allies even when they play in Europe.
44:35
Speaker 3: I think we have a say over that. But I
44:38
Speaker 3: don't want to go into the details of that, but
44:40
Speaker 3: I think we can leverage our influence to make the
44:43
Speaker 3: Nigerian government stop the violence immediately they have sharia law
44:49
Speaker 3: in the southern regions. We can and then we say, oh,
44:51
Speaker 3: human rights, this, that and the other. Where you have
44:55
Speaker 3: sharia law, you do not have human rights? Are you crazy?
44:59
Speaker 2: Absolute? Absolutely, and we need to stand up and we
45:03
Speaker 2: need to fight vigorously to prevent it here in the
45:05
Speaker 2: United States. Okay, final topic, and we're going to wrap
45:07
Speaker 2: up in just a couple of minutes. But you were
45:10
Speaker 2: born in Somalia, as you know, I've publicly called on
45:13
Speaker 2: the Trump administration to recognize Somali Land as a separate
45:18
Speaker 2: and independent nation. Tell our viewers what you think about that,
45:22
Speaker 2: and if you think that makes sense, tell them why.
45:26
Speaker 3: I think we should reward Somali Land for what they
45:29
Speaker 3: have achieved. They have been since nineteen six the former
45:35
Speaker 3: dictatorial government sier Bar. They were massacred, but they were
45:39
Speaker 3: leevered into becoming part of Somalia. They became part of
45:42
Speaker 3: Somalia and they have come to live to regret it.
45:45
Speaker 3: But at the moment, very quickly, they are the only
45:49
Speaker 3: viable nation state. They have a homogeneous population, they speak
45:54
Speaker 3: one language, and there is a narrative of national identity,
45:57
Speaker 3: of common suffering but also common survival. You know, as
46:01
Speaker 3: a Somali, I will tell you something I'm not I'm
46:03
Speaker 3: an American, but born in Somali. I will say that
46:08
Speaker 3: one of the things that we Smaris excel at is
46:10
Speaker 3: in vengeance. But the leadership of Somaliland have decided after
46:15
Speaker 3: nineteen ninety one that they are not going to channel
46:18
Speaker 3: the energy of their population into vengeance but build into building.
46:22
Speaker 3: What is a nation and they are economically violent. I
46:26
Speaker 3: think that may have oil and gas. I think that
46:31
Speaker 3: they could be a strategic partner.
46:34
Speaker 2: I admire, and they want to stand with America. They
46:37
Speaker 2: are standing up with the United States. It is in
46:42
Speaker 2: our national interest to recognize Somaliland to have a a
46:47
Speaker 2: major ally on the Horn of Africa, that is standing
46:50
Speaker 2: with us. That's significant. And look, I am someone who
46:54
Speaker 2: is very much America first. We should be putting American
46:58
Speaker 2: national security interest first and records. Somali Land enhances those
47:02
Speaker 2: interests absolutely.
47:04
Speaker 3: They are absolutely on the same page as as they
47:07
Speaker 3: and also they have recognized Israel, they have defined they
47:12
Speaker 3: have a defined territory, they have a permanent population, they
47:17
Speaker 3: issue passports. But the most important thing is that they
47:23
Speaker 3: hold elections one man, one vote for president, for parliament
47:28
Speaker 3: and local elections. And you can come and survey those
47:32
Speaker 3: and see that they are actually in some ways better
47:34
Speaker 3: than our American elections. And so I think Somali Land
47:38
Speaker 3: should be rewarded for the fact that they have built
47:41
Speaker 3: a nation. They do not rely on development aid. They
47:45
Speaker 3: never relied on US eight. That's yeah. So please vibrate
47:51
Speaker 3: them from what is Somalia Mogadishu, which is just a
47:54
Speaker 3: broken chihadi place.
47:56
Speaker 2: Well, I thank you for taking the time, thank you
47:58

48:13
Speaker 2: what it means, what it's meant in Europe, what it
48:16
Speaker 2: means here in America. I think it is an incredibly
48:21
Speaker 2: important topic. It is a very real threat. It is
48:23
Speaker 2: a threat that I am committed to combating. And one
48:27
