- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to our Kobe Bryant Jeff Gordon episode episode twenty
- 0:06Speaker 1: four of the Inside the Bus podcast. In this one,
- 0:09Speaker 1: you're probably wondering why didn't this episode happen sooner? Because
- 0:13Speaker 1: you've probably heard this guy's name before, whether it's in
- 0:15Speaker 1: the Busting world, whether it's in the bust scenes world,
- 0:18Speaker 1: or whether it's in the for the Dad's world. We
- 0:21Speaker 1: have our newest employee on this episode with us, Derek
- 0:25Speaker 1: from the chat.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Thank you, solid intro.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Thanks this newest employee of two months already.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Thirty nine days was Friday.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Yeah, that blog was incredible.
- 0:41Speaker 4: I was super nervous. Obviously we can talk about what
- 0:43Speaker 4: actually happened, but sending it out there was like a
- 0:45Speaker 4: two hour gap before g hit the group chat of
- 0:47Speaker 4: that blog, and you know, you go through when you
- 0:49Speaker 4: do any type of content, like does everyone hate it
- 0:51Speaker 4: or whatever? And then I was like fuck, I kind
- 0:53Speaker 4: of fucked with Coop a little bit on it, and
- 0:54Speaker 4: like shit, I kind of fucked with Will. I'm like,
- 0:56Speaker 4: damn everybody to be on Monday, man. But no, it
- 0:59Speaker 4: was good.
- 1:00Speaker 5: That was incredible.
- 1:01Speaker 2: This office needs a blogger too.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Yeah, we need more writing. And for those that don't
- 1:07Speaker 1: understand what we're talking about. Every Sunday night, we have
- 1:10Speaker 1: a weekly schedule that gets sent out to us and
- 1:13Speaker 1: normally Ryan puts it together shout out Ryan, but has
- 1:16Speaker 1: everything that's going on. This past week, Derek added a
- 1:19Speaker 1: blog to it where he was basically diving into the
- 1:22Speaker 1: levels of fandom because that's been a big argument at
- 1:25Speaker 1: the bus. We have some sickos, we have some diehards,
- 1:27Speaker 1: we have some Will Compton's.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Some casuals.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Some casuals. Me and he dove into it and it
- 1:31Speaker 1: was beautiful.
- 1:33Speaker 4: I did take your name out of the casual thing.
- 1:35Speaker 4: I didn't want it to be a shot, but I
- 1:36Speaker 4: was like, you do love the Chiefs, but you don't
- 1:38Speaker 4: do it enough for Clump to fuck with you.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I know. I just I'm not one. I mean we've
- 1:44Speaker 3: said it before, but I'm not one. Like it's not
- 1:45Speaker 3: going to ruin my week. I just like watching football.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I'll be back.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I have something I need to grab pertaining to this.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you definitely need.
- 1:55Speaker 2: We need to figure out a name to differentiate between
- 1:59Speaker 2: the casuals of the WARLD like Matt Malone and then you,
- 2:02Speaker 2: because there's I don't know, there seems like there's a
- 2:06Speaker 2: little bit of a gap in which which which which
- 2:08Speaker 2: swings better.
- 2:09Speaker 3: For your Yeah, I would agree, yeah, because I.
- 2:12Speaker 6: Think fandom casual fandom with incredible ball knowledge, and then just.
- 2:17Speaker 3: I think I think my fandom is the the NFL
- 2:22Speaker 3: hat that Coop has, Like that is me for the
- 2:25Speaker 3: NFL football correct, But I and like, I know we
- 2:30Speaker 3: got a face swamp. I know the like I do
- 2:34Speaker 3: obviously playing college football and like growing up and playing football,
- 2:36Speaker 3: like I know the ins and outs of football, and
- 2:38Speaker 3: like when like sometimes you asked me a football question,
- 2:41Speaker 3: I'm like, fuck, yeah, I can flex my ball dolarg
- 2:43Speaker 3: ball knowledge like muscle. It's like I am a I.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Think you're a gamer.
- 2:49Speaker 4: I think that gamer is a good one.
- 2:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:52Speaker 6: If he loses Mitch More, if he loses flag, which
- 2:56Speaker 6: is gamer.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yeah gamer, I can get down with gamer.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Yeahah, it fits you.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I've always appreciated too that you you kind of take
- 3:06Speaker 2: the first step and being like I'm a casual Yeah,
- 3:09Speaker 2: And in back of my head, I'm like, you know,
- 3:11Speaker 2: like in a way you are, but like I feel
- 3:13Speaker 2: like you're not giving yourself enough credit. So yeah, I
- 3:15Speaker 2: think gamers a good place to hang the hat for now.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Yeah, because I would get frustrated and annoyed because you
- 3:21Speaker 3: guys were like you guys, you It was more so
- 3:23Speaker 3: of a like Taylor said it best on the bus,
- 3:26Speaker 3: He's like, Mitch just likes football. Like we get we
- 3:29Speaker 3: get mad at him because we think he doesn't like ball,
- 3:31Speaker 3: but like, no, it's just like I'm not gonna I
- 3:34Speaker 3: just like football. I like all ball.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It's probably the.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Level you played at, like you played you played in college, right, yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 4: so you just like it. You went to South Carolina,
- 3:42Speaker 4: Oklahom's like, there's that's the thing. That's what I tried
- 3:44Speaker 4: to hit in the blog because there's a difference between
- 3:46Speaker 4: you guys when I came South with college football fandom
- 3:49Speaker 4: and being a pro like being a Steelers fan at
- 3:51Speaker 4: Ruins my day. But we play and I'm like, cool,
- 3:53Speaker 4: we can go give another. If there's a third fucking
- 3:55Speaker 4: Hayward brother, let's toss him a bag. Like, but you
- 3:58Speaker 4: guys have a year in, year out call Colledge fandom
- 4:00Speaker 4: that like watching you with the vault. It's different. It's
- 4:03Speaker 4: just flat different.
- 4:05Speaker 2: It's tough in a state Tennessee specifically, where you have
- 4:09Speaker 2: to live and die by football. You can you can
- 4:11Speaker 2: rep the Grizzlies, but obviously that's Memphis. But like we
- 4:13Speaker 2: don't have obviously an MLB team, no NBA team, So
- 4:17Speaker 2: like like as a Steelers fan, like you can rep
- 4:19Speaker 2: the Sixers, you can rep the Phillies, like you you
- 4:22Speaker 2: can kind of if you're having a bad year, you
- 4:24Speaker 2: can run what pirates.
- 4:26Speaker 4: We do have the Pirate and the Sixers of Philly,
- 4:28Speaker 4: but we, in your defense, we don't have a basketball team.
- 4:30Speaker 4: So people picked Cleveland in Sixers until Lebron came a
- 4:34Speaker 4: long than those.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Just in markets where you have a fall.
- 4:36Speaker 5: Back, we'll get there.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Well yeah, but yeah, it's a great point though.
- 4:40Speaker 5: I like, so it goes bottom casual mad gamer.
- 4:45Speaker 3: I think it's Matt Malone. I think below below Matt
- 4:49Speaker 3: is Jared because he just doesn't really care, like he's like,
- 4:52Speaker 3: Sundays are free days to me, like I don't have
- 4:54Speaker 3: to I don't watch football. So it's Jared. And then
- 4:57Speaker 3: I would say a week out here, I think I,
- 5:00Speaker 3: and then I think Matt Malone, and then I would
- 5:02Speaker 3: almost say me and Cooper kind of in the same
- 5:04Speaker 3: realm hm.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I feel like it's fair.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Because you know, but but you're like on that football.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Coop was on Suey after the Titans snook his Cardinals.
- 5:15Speaker 3: He's that way with the Cardinals.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I am like.
- 5:19Speaker 5: Maybe like a little bit above Mitch on like I
- 5:22Speaker 5: do care, it really doesn't really Like I almost like
- 5:26Speaker 5: him just used to watching the Cardinals sucks, so like
- 5:27Speaker 5: that's just part of my football watching experience.
- 5:29Speaker 7: It's not like it actually doesn't ruin my mood as
- 5:31Speaker 7: much as I.
- 5:32Speaker 3: But you'll get frustrated.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll get frustrated, like when I do just like
- 5:35Speaker 5: watching football, Like I don't care if it's my team.
- 5:37Speaker 6: But if the Cords were nice, you're gonna be like
- 5:40Speaker 6: bought in all the way.
- 5:42Speaker 7: And I hope, So I hope, I hope.
- 5:46Speaker 4: What a couple of hundred thousand mil was it mill
- 5:49Speaker 4: for it?
- 5:49Speaker 5: Yeah, the Cardinals. I can post memes on Twitter and
- 5:52Speaker 5: get two point four million views on them even though
- 5:55Speaker 5: it's about the Cardinals sucking ass category.
- 5:59Speaker 7: I think he I'm in a similar category to Mitch.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Gamer plus because he does get frustrated if the Chiefs
- 6:06Speaker 3: lose and like fuck, But if like the Cardinals lose,
- 6:09Speaker 3: like he'll put out a tweet he'll like dog the
- 6:12Speaker 3: Cardinals where I like, I'm not going to tweet.
- 6:13Speaker 5: As I'm that kind of fan where like I kind
- 6:16Speaker 5: of am sick of in terms of like when my
- 6:19Speaker 5: team's doing bad, it's kind of enjoyable to kind of tease.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Them and make fun of them.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like tough love.
- 6:23Speaker 7: Yeah, every year with Cardinals, everyone curious.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Yeah, finish.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, trying to submit to the highest level.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Matt Me or Jared Matt Me coop.
- 6:40Speaker 5: So it goes, does not care, casual gamer gamer.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Plus what would be next level come in?
- 6:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm trying to think, I genuinely, I know it's
- 6:50Speaker 4: only been a week. It's been like three because the
- 6:52Speaker 4: top one.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I know what it is.
- 6:55Speaker 3: In the Matt Malone category because he's got seventeen different teams.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Let me swap it up. Because the thing was I
- 7:00Speaker 4: I did not I named what Jack is in it
- 7:04Speaker 4: like Valls fans were basically their own countrue. But I
- 7:08Speaker 4: would like to identify it a little bit more here
- 7:11Speaker 4: because I have what does it mean to be a
- 7:12Speaker 4: fan of the name of it? And we look at casuals, diehards,
- 7:15Speaker 4: Valls fans, and then Will Compton's of the world, and
- 7:17Speaker 4: that is how I categorize basically the whobice. I like
- 7:20Speaker 4: diving it out a little bit more and just I
- 7:22Speaker 4: mean I won't go to and definitely a casuals. Some
- 7:24Speaker 4: of them kind of get away from the office troll
- 7:26Speaker 4: uh diehards. They seem to teeter between serial killer and stalker.
- 7:30Speaker 4: My favorite line there would just be as abated the
- 7:32Speaker 4: sexual orientation of other homo sapiens who request the sacred
- 7:35Speaker 4: scribbling of names from sweaty men with athletic accomplishments valls fans.
- 7:39Speaker 4: I would like to say, I'm coining it. I don't
- 7:40Speaker 4: know if you want it or not, but Mac or
- 7:43Speaker 4: Jack mixed straight man, just so you know it's I.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I appreciate that.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I thought it was good there man, so
- 7:51Speaker 4: uh and then yeah, you guys keep coming back no
- 7:53Speaker 4: matter how bad it is, like a student loan reminder.
- 7:55Speaker 4: And then the the Will Compton shout out, Sally May
- 7:59Speaker 4: the sickest, most diehard steelersan I can find the Steel City.
- 8:01Speaker 4: He wouldn't hold a single match to the love that
- 8:03Speaker 4: the will Comptons have for their team. And then we
- 8:06Speaker 4: dove into the fact that he uh berated Coop for not.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I can't win.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I think I think.
- 8:14Speaker 5: You were prepared for glory if Nebraska lost that game. Yeah,
- 8:19Speaker 5: part of me wants to be like, let's keep that
- 8:21Speaker 5: in a rise, but we can leave it there.
- 8:23Speaker 6: Yeah, just just no, I would say, like, well, not
- 8:26Speaker 6: going to watch this, but you're in.
- 8:28Speaker 3: The realm of Like I don't know if like Valls
- 8:31Speaker 3: fan is strictly Walls fans can be in that category,
- 8:33Speaker 3: because I would say you're I think almost.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I think it might be in a level of his
- 8:37Speaker 2: own life will content players he's friends with on Facebook
- 8:41Speaker 2: from his sold days. DP knows everything there is to
- 8:44Speaker 2: know about South Carolina football and just this like he
- 8:47Speaker 2: truly embodies what it is to be a South Carolina.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yeah, South Carolina.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I would play JP above the sick o psycho.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Yeah, future, it's interesting with the head coach.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yeah yeah yeah Nick, Like Nick Harbor asked for him
- 9:05Speaker 3: as to meet up with him rather than like.
- 9:07Speaker 2: He's deming with Ty Simpson after the game, Like answer.
- 9:11Speaker 1: M think that means a lot, But it means a lot.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Where does Taylor fall into this?
- 9:18Speaker 2: Who maybe just fight in the middle of the road
- 9:20Speaker 2: because he's had experience playing comes to the program but
- 9:24Speaker 2: never was a true fan until until they won the
- 9:26Speaker 2: Nation National and to his credit, he started being a
- 9:30Speaker 2: fan that year. But even then it felt a little so,
- 9:34Speaker 2: I don't know, maybe just kind of like it is.
- 9:36Speaker 6: Funny to me when Coop knows more of Taylor's Michigan
- 9:39Speaker 6: roster than Taylor.
- 9:40Speaker 5: Knew his own teammates. Yeah, because his team's had me
- 9:43Speaker 5: fighting for my life at middle school lunch every day.
- 9:45Speaker 5: I know everything I was talking about.
- 9:48Speaker 3: But yeah, so all of this to get to JP
- 9:50Speaker 3: and his little share in tell or Show and Tell.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Yeah, when I was home with Garrett, Garrett got to
- 9:56Speaker 1: see my childhood house, which is an underrated moment because
- 9:59Speaker 1: you're those awesome very rarely get to see your childhood.
- 10:03Speaker 6: It felt, I'll quickly say it was very homey.
- 10:06Speaker 5: It was almost exactly what.
- 10:08Speaker 6: You would expect the house to be like it was
- 10:13Speaker 6: all time.
- 10:14Speaker 5: So thank you, thank you.
- 10:16Speaker 4: And so our neighborhood is elite.
- 10:18Speaker 3: By the way, did you see the tree he hit
- 10:21Speaker 3: in for twelve hours?
- 10:23Speaker 5: No?
- 10:23Speaker 2: When he ran away?
- 10:24Speaker 5: Oh oh yeah that's cool.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good. Right there, I'll see you guys a photos.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Never made it to the edge of the driveway and
- 10:31Speaker 4: never got past.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I went to this tree climbed up. I was like,
- 10:35Speaker 1: they're going to miss me, and I'm going to watch
- 10:36Speaker 1: them come out and look for me. And they never
- 10:38Speaker 1: came out.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And looked for me.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I was just hitting, Yeah, that's what it's horrible. That's
- 10:42Speaker 1: probably when I made this.
- 10:44Speaker 4: I'll go to college.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I'll create my own college.
- 10:50Speaker 2: No.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So this was on my little like dresser thing. And
- 10:54Speaker 1: this was the first brochure I ever made in a
- 10:56Speaker 1: web design class. So I had to be like fifth
- 10:58Speaker 1: or sixth grade, and I guess the assignment was just
- 11:02Speaker 1: like create either a city or a town school something. Naturally,
- 11:08Speaker 1: I pick something about South Carolina. I picked Cocky Land,
- 11:11Speaker 1: and I don't know if y'all remember that, like when
- 11:13Speaker 1: you made brochures in school learning that was the sickest
- 11:16Speaker 1: thing ever. And we'll have to put a photo up
- 11:19Speaker 1: because I have this random like textbox.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Incredibly well maintained, still long ago.
- 11:27Speaker 1: So here now on cockeye Land time. How do you
- 11:30Speaker 1: feel you open it up to find out. I won't
- 11:33Speaker 1: read the full thing, but I'll give you guys.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I would listen to a podcast if you just reading
- 11:37Speaker 4: this whole thing just for the record.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, we have dining parks and facilities, entertainment, clothes,
- 11:42Speaker 1: and calendar of events, plus education. And this is not
- 11:46Speaker 1: fully homer everything you like, I'm including another school in here.
- 11:50Speaker 1: The food consists of mostly tailgating food, hot dogs, hamburgers,
- 11:53Speaker 1: brought wear, subs, fruit wings. And then the water fountains
- 11:57Speaker 1: are filled with gatorade, and in every refrigerator of the
- 12:00Speaker 1: rooms is gatorade, water juice, soda, powerade, and propels. And
- 12:04Speaker 1: the last thing people would eat is shrimp. Now that's
- 12:07Speaker 1: some good food. Parks and facilities. All Gamecock facilities are
- 12:11Speaker 1: open to the public from seven to twelve and then
- 12:14Speaker 1: four to eight due to sports team practices. All of
- 12:16Speaker 1: the facilities have pools, concessions, basketball court, soccer fields, and
- 12:20Speaker 1: the city Dump is where the Clemson fans live entertainment.
- 12:25Speaker 1: For entertainment, everybody goes to all of the games football, basketball, soccer,
- 12:29Speaker 1: swim meets, other sports and recreational sports. And yes there
- 12:32Speaker 1: are still movie theaters. Clothes you could guess what they are.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Everybody has a year supply of Gamecock t shirt, long
- 12:39Speaker 1: sleeve shirt, pants, hoodies, and anyone who is found with
- 12:42Speaker 1: the Clemson sweatshirt will be kicked out of the Community
- 12:45Speaker 1: calendar of events football season, and then two times a
- 12:48Speaker 1: year we go to Clemson Community to trash talk them,
- 12:51Speaker 1: and then throughout the rest of the year we watch
- 12:52Speaker 1: everything else. Education, since when you're a little boy, you
- 12:57Speaker 1: will attend some kind of school that has a connection
- 12:59Speaker 1: to the University of South Carolina or another Gamecock school.
- 13:02Speaker 1: When you're three years old, you go to preschool called
- 13:04Speaker 1: for the Young Gamecock and so on. By the time
- 13:07Speaker 1: you are a senior in high school, you will have
- 13:08Speaker 1: a choice to go to USC or Jacksonville State, who
- 13:12Speaker 1: are also the game Cocks, each of which are free.
- 13:15Speaker 1: So I made this when I was about ten or eleven.
- 13:17Speaker 5: You were ahead of the.
- 13:19Speaker 1: And hopefully you know maybe.
- 13:22Speaker 4: This is a different it's like a different layer of everything,
- 13:25Speaker 4: is right, brochure fan and that I don't love the.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Name of that, yeah, but if you understand something.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Context of it, since again we need to work on it.
- 13:33Speaker 2: But that's what separates GP is like I don't know
- 13:36Speaker 2: if I've ever witnessed a fandom quite like JP's with
- 13:39Speaker 2: South Carolina, because it, like I said earlier, just it
- 13:41Speaker 2: fully embodies the whole state. It's not just you know,
- 13:44Speaker 2: South Carolina football or like what it's it's everything, and
- 13:48Speaker 2: I can really appreciate that kind of stuff.
- 13:50Speaker 5: My favorite part in the whole thing is the year
- 13:53Speaker 5: one year supply of game cock.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Yeah, after that, that's all we got.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You know, I thought I was cooking when I was
- 13:59Speaker 1: on Clint since head to they're in the city, dump
- 14:03Speaker 1: go talk trash to him.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Now that's some good food. Yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 4: When you are three years old, you go to preschool,
- 14:07Speaker 4: it's called for the young game cock and so on.
- 14:10Speaker 4: This is like really impressive, just so you know, like
- 14:13Speaker 4: on a kid level, like this is well done. You
- 14:16Speaker 4: are definitely getting something in there. I'll give your own
- 14:18Speaker 4: ring because to your point, like you are, if the
- 14:20Speaker 4: Balls lose, if bamlous, if these teams lose, you guys
- 14:23Speaker 4: are sick and annoyed and like want blood and want
- 14:25Speaker 4: people fired. JP's trying to build a better world. There's
- 14:28Speaker 4: something there. He's genuinely like it's bigger than he's like, look,
- 14:33Speaker 4: I understand, but like, okay, guys, we still got to
- 14:35Speaker 4: go to clumbson this weekend and make fun of their fans.
- 14:37Speaker 4: So like, let's rally on the bus.
- 14:38Speaker 1: We have a schedule. Yeah, absolutely, with about your years
- 14:42Speaker 1: so yeah, that's my submission, so.
- 14:44Speaker 3: I love to do with that as you will.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I will.
- 14:47Speaker 6: We were walking around Columbia. We got out of the
- 14:50Speaker 6: car for two minutes. JP, this is a ten am like.
- 14:54Speaker 5: Here we go.
- 14:55Speaker 3: That's got to be so sick.
- 14:57Speaker 4: It was cool.
- 14:57Speaker 2: It was a great time running for mayor or or
- 15:00Speaker 2: some kind of city councilmen. Dude, later on life, I
- 15:04Speaker 2: feel like you're already campaigning.
- 15:06Speaker 4: I mean cocky land strong bro.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean ad there. I go through waves of
- 15:11Speaker 1: being interested in politics, but I do. I love like
- 15:14Speaker 1: the community building aspect. So I'm hoping that. I think
- 15:18Speaker 1: there's going to be massive shifts in the political landscape
- 15:21Speaker 1: over the next twenty years. And I'm hoping that when
- 15:25Speaker 1: I am forty forty five, there's a different type of
- 15:28Speaker 1: role out there that would fit more in to the
- 15:30Speaker 1: things I'm into, because I'd love to stand on the
- 15:32Speaker 1: table for South Carolina as a state, and I just
- 15:37Speaker 1: it needs to be the right opening. It's funny because
- 15:39Speaker 1: I actually I do DM with a couple of representatives.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I DM with a couple of representatives from the upstate
- 15:48Speaker 1: just to get their their pulse on things.
- 15:50Speaker 2: They're probably freaking out thinking man, he's only got so
- 15:52Speaker 2: many more years.
- 15:53Speaker 3: So he's on you.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Guys are making Joey Aglar edits. He's residential campaigns.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I love that for you.
- 16:01Speaker 4: But I mean I've so funny, like way long ago,
- 16:03Speaker 4: I had to buddy he worked on Capitol holl for
- 16:05Speaker 4: a while. I ran his small town campaign. So he
- 16:08Speaker 4: ran for a very small portion of our local government
- 16:12Speaker 4: for it, and I helped run his campaign for him.
- 16:14Speaker 4: And I will say, without a sliver of understanding who
- 16:16Speaker 4: you are outside of this office, other than just becoming
- 16:18Speaker 4: friends with you, you would do absolute numbers would be fun, yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 4: because you could like playground.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yeah, like there could be a great campaign manager he
- 16:28Speaker 2: would and it might be forming in front of our eyes.
- 16:32Speaker 5: Yeah we're real.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Yeah, some sick posters come out. I mean, right, we
- 16:37Speaker 4: got the seat.
- 16:39Speaker 6: There, man, we're just gonna get I feel likes like
- 16:43Speaker 6: Pittsburgh is a place where people.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Have a lot of pride into Pittsburgh is it's it's
- 16:47Speaker 4: crazy too because you get down here and the first thing,
- 16:50Speaker 4: like when I got with people, they'd be like, oh,
- 16:52Speaker 4: like you're in Nashville, and I'm like, yeah, let's go
- 16:54Speaker 4: to like Franklin and they'll be like, yeah, Okay, that's Franklin.
- 16:56Speaker 4: That's not Nashville. And like I realized, like it's very
- 17:00Speaker 4: that way Pittsburgh. You're fifteen minutes outside the city. You're
- 17:02Speaker 4: from Pittsburgh. Like that's that's just it's this identity type thing.
- 17:06Speaker 4: And like even Pa, it's just I mean, I don't
- 17:08Speaker 4: know if it's I'm assuming it's.
- 17:09Speaker 5: That way over there.
- 17:11Speaker 3: No, I say, I'm from Philly, and the guys give
- 17:12Speaker 3: me shit for it.
- 17:13Speaker 4: Okay, see that's exactly.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I got forty minutes outside of Philly, and I'm like,
- 17:17Speaker 3: in my.
- 17:17Speaker 4: World, you're from Philly. Now I get it. I get
- 17:20Speaker 4: it because that's why.
- 17:21Speaker 5: When you came here, they were in Franklin, not Nashville.
- 17:23Speaker 4: Facts, Bro, you gotta learn about shit. You guys do
- 17:25Speaker 4: shit different down here. I like it, but it's different.
- 17:28Speaker 5: For how long have you been in Nashville.
- 17:32Speaker 4: I've been in Nashville. This was the start of year
- 17:35Speaker 4: five for me. At the beginning of this year, like March,
- 17:38Speaker 4: so four, you move in the middle of COVID. Yeah,
- 17:40Speaker 4: I moved at the tail end of it. So Pittsburgh
- 17:42Speaker 4: was still I mean, we would. I got a bike
- 17:44Speaker 4: in Pittsburgh. My Buddy does a bunch of like bars,
- 17:46Speaker 4: and we had all these restaurants you go to, so
- 17:48Speaker 4: we got bikes to just come into the city and
- 17:51Speaker 4: sit it outside patios and drink beer.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Basically sick.
- 17:54Speaker 2: It was.
- 17:54Speaker 4: It was dope. But Pittsburgh was shut down way before.
- 17:56Speaker 4: So Pittsburgh was the city where you wear your mask,
- 17:59Speaker 4: go to your table, take your mouth off, and that
- 18:00Speaker 4: was a common thing. I come down here and I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 18:03Speaker 4: it's opening up. The world's opening up, and I'm like,
- 18:05Speaker 4: oh cool, Like broadways like a zombie fucking apocalypse, Like
- 18:08Speaker 4: there are just people. And it was a weird transition
- 18:11Speaker 4: of it through it, but it was really cool because
- 18:12Speaker 4: I felt like I got past that point, Like I
- 18:15Speaker 4: got past the COVID shit. I got past that part
- 18:16Speaker 4: of my life, and like, as soon as I moved
- 18:18Speaker 4: somewhere I've never been before the world just opened up.
- 18:21Speaker 4: It was really really cool how Kobe moved. I moved
- 18:24Speaker 4: here for uh So. I was in advertising before this.
- 18:27Speaker 4: I was a director of social media for an advertising
- 18:30Speaker 4: firm in town called the Bunting Group. So I god, dude,
- 18:33Speaker 4: I used to sell like lamin It's kitchen countertops, sinks,
- 18:37Speaker 4: hinges and shit. Took a huge paic cut to go
- 18:39Speaker 4: into advertising, stuck around there, got headhunted for just a
- 18:42Speaker 4: social job with them, and came down and was like
- 18:45Speaker 4: I'm basically burned the boats, like not going back home.
- 18:47Speaker 4: We're doing this shit. Luckily obviously fast forward a bit,
- 18:51Speaker 4: but we got here, thank god. There were some times
- 18:53Speaker 4: where I was like, fuck, I gotta go back home,
- 18:54Speaker 4: and like fuck I gotta pack it up and shit.
- 18:56Speaker 4: But I moved down for the job and I loved it,
- 18:58Speaker 4: and it was it was really kind of that moment
- 19:00Speaker 4: of like this is the life now, Like this is
- 19:02Speaker 4: what we're doing. It's crazy.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and I saw I was I'll forget what it was.
- 19:07Speaker 1: But I was scrolling through your Instagram. Yeah, in your
- 19:09Speaker 1: period when you were like me trying to explain to
- 19:11Speaker 1: my girlfriend what I'm doing unemployed.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Those were great day whatever.
- 19:16Speaker 4: So appeal like to like go back a bit. When
- 19:19Speaker 4: I was getting into advertising. The first time, I was
- 19:21Speaker 4: an account coordinator, so social was my way to get in.
- 19:24Speaker 4: The second time, I basically sat at the bar with
- 19:27Speaker 4: a buddy who was a video editor, and we sat
- 19:30Speaker 4: there and he's like, I want to start my own
- 19:31Speaker 4: agency and I was like, that sounds lame. I was like,
- 19:32Speaker 4: let's start a sports thing and he was like, what
- 19:34Speaker 4: is that. I was like, so we're gonna call it
- 19:35Speaker 4: Thoughts from the Bench. It's a blog and we make content.
- 19:38Speaker 4: So we did that for god seven years, blog, twitch streaming,
- 19:43Speaker 4: our own podcasting, everything you could think of. We did
- 19:46Speaker 4: shotgun races at tailgates against the barstool guys like Big
- 19:48Speaker 4: Katwaite sucks Dave. We fucking grind that shit and it
- 19:52Speaker 4: was completely free, all the twitch streams. That's how we
- 19:54Speaker 4: got into November. That's why I'm so heavy into that.
- 19:57Speaker 4: And so all that shit was where I would experiment
- 19:59Speaker 4: for my advertising job. And so dude, the clients they
- 20:02Speaker 4: have the red tape. Everything in the advertising world is
- 20:04Speaker 4: so asked to be honest with you, Like I I
- 20:06Speaker 4: like it. It got me here, but it's terrible. So
- 20:09Speaker 4: I would take everything and come working on my own
- 20:11Speaker 4: podcast and it would work there and I'd bring it back, Well,
- 20:13Speaker 4: what's the KPIs, what's the delivery? Like da da da
- 20:16Speaker 4: da da. I'm like, no, it fucking worked, dude, It worked.
- 20:19Speaker 4: So everything up to there, Like That's why I liked
- 20:21Speaker 4: sending the blog and all that stuff. But those videos
- 20:23Speaker 4: that you speak of, I was at that job. Left
- 20:27Speaker 4: that job for a video shop in town. I was
- 20:28Speaker 4: their director of social great guys just didn't work out.
- 20:32Speaker 4: It was startup, went back to the agency and then
- 20:35Speaker 4: they had their third round of layoffs ever, which happened
- 20:38Speaker 4: in the same year Shocker and got laid off. And
- 20:41Speaker 4: I was like, fuck, dude, I just bought my ring,
- 20:44Speaker 4: so we're engaged now. I just bought my ring. We
- 20:46Speaker 4: just moved into a new house. All this shit. So
- 20:49Speaker 4: I was driving Lyft as much as a human could
- 20:51Speaker 4: drive a car. I was picking up this freelance work,
- 20:54Speaker 4: trying my ass off, and I was like, fuck, did
- 20:56Speaker 4: I gotta get back into it cause I had taken
- 20:58Speaker 4: a huge gap off of making content for the blog stuff.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Like before bro we were making videos, Like I would
- 21:03Speaker 4: blog three times a day. I would We did our
- 21:06Speaker 4: Thursday show, which was two hours, which I stopped doing
- 21:08Speaker 4: just for busting. I want to pick it back up,
- 21:10Speaker 4: but stop doing that. So three clips a day, two
- 21:13Speaker 4: blogs a week. We did a live stream. Monday Night
- 21:16Speaker 4: was a gaming show, so we did twitch stream gaming.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Tuesday Night was a ranking show. We just ranked it
- 21:21Speaker 4: Wednesday night was movie reviews, Thursday was my show, Friday
- 21:24Speaker 4: was off. Saturday we did a trivia show that I
- 21:26Speaker 4: recorded the whole day. Sunday morning was gambling, and then
- 21:28Speaker 4: after football we did a recap show all for free
- 21:31Speaker 4: in the back of a gym. The back of a gym,
- 21:33Speaker 4: this utility closet where the only thing that's still there
- 21:36Speaker 4: is my two thousand and four Golden t Arcade game
- 21:38Speaker 4: that just stopped the work. And when I moved here,
- 21:40Speaker 4: I was fucking pissed. Bro full carcass arcade everything. I
- 21:45Speaker 4: know this is super long. I'm so sorry to do this,
- 21:47Speaker 4: but back into it. Yeah, I made these videos where
- 21:49Speaker 4: I was basically I have this salt of the earth
- 21:52Speaker 4: beautiful woman who is my fiance named Kat, and she
- 21:55Speaker 4: was like, hey, like you're good. She does she's a
- 21:58Speaker 4: nurse practitioner. She's like, we're okay, just like promise me
- 22:01Speaker 4: you're gonna keep going, like figure it out. Like I
- 22:03Speaker 4: was like, I will watch this, yeah, yeah, and then
- 22:07Speaker 4: I got clump making me fucking work on vacation. But no,
- 22:09Speaker 4: it was that intro was super funny. My interview with
- 22:12Speaker 4: you guys was the funniest day of my life. Jeremy's
- 22:15Speaker 4: a crack. But I get through those videos where I
- 22:17Speaker 4: was like, well, fuck, how do I explain to her
- 22:19Speaker 4: what I do all day? So I made I got
- 22:21Speaker 4: up to like edition nineteen before I got this job,
- 22:24Speaker 4: where every day I was making another piece of video
- 22:26Speaker 4: and making another piece of video just about my day.
- 22:29Speaker 4: And it ended up that got me a job offer
- 22:31Speaker 4: at Meta, which I turned down for this that got
- 22:33Speaker 4: me a job offer with an agency in Kentucky cause
- 22:36Speaker 4: they were like, hey, we see your portfolios tight, we
- 22:38Speaker 4: see the you have a good attitude about this, and
- 22:40Speaker 4: we see that like the place that laid you off
- 22:42Speaker 4: clearly like had issues. It wasn't a you thing. And
- 22:45Speaker 4: so making those videos like I have a cousin who's
- 22:48Speaker 4: the professor of marketing at Duqune University in Pittsburgh, and
- 22:52Speaker 4: he's the one who helped me get a lot of
- 22:53Speaker 4: my freelance clients that I still have today. But he
- 22:54Speaker 4: was like, bro, just He's like keep making. He's like,
- 22:56Speaker 4: just keep making something. So I just make these stupid
- 22:59Speaker 4: fucking here I am taking the trash out videos. Here's
- 23:01Speaker 4: I made burgers for three weeks straight, different burgers. I
- 23:05Speaker 4: got a Blackstone.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Then my dad drove down.
- 23:08Speaker 4: I made three straight weeks of different types of burgers,
- 23:10Speaker 4: and I was like, fuck it, here's the jalapeno cheese
- 23:13Speaker 4: curd peanut butter burger I made today. It's fucking ass
- 23:19Speaker 4: eighteen eighteen. But no man content. That's why. Like when
- 23:24Speaker 4: this happened and Clump replied back, first time of your
- 23:27Speaker 4: play back, I thought he was fucking with me. I
- 23:28Speaker 4: didn't know. I was like, this guy's not the director
- 23:29Speaker 4: at Digital. Yeah, this in the picture. I was like,
- 23:33Speaker 4: is that plank.
- 23:33Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, that's how I was. When we'll reach
- 23:36Speaker 3: out to me too, Yeah.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Dude, it's you know, being it.
- 23:40Speaker 4: You guys have been great. Thirty nine days have been
- 23:42Speaker 4: so fucking sick. So it's been It's been a way.
- 23:44Speaker 5: Longer than thirty nine days for sure. Yeah, because what
- 23:48Speaker 5: when when would you first walk who?
- 23:52Speaker 4: So it would have been so July.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Are you here with the interns?
- 23:56Speaker 8: No?
- 23:56Speaker 4: No, No, the interns had been hired, and so I
- 23:58Speaker 4: went to the beach in July, which is why I
- 24:01Speaker 4: said to Clump, because they had me editing clips for
- 24:04Speaker 4: my audition for my contract. Try into it, and so
- 24:07Speaker 4: did that, and then it was like I started my
- 24:11Speaker 4: what was supposed to be a six or five week
- 24:13Speaker 4: trial contract made it to week three, which is when
- 24:16Speaker 4: I stopped bringing in shit to my desk so I
- 24:18Speaker 4: can have a desk. That was day I'd said it
- 24:22Speaker 4: to you because it was like, I think it was
- 24:23Speaker 4: like the start of week three.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Yeah, because I remember bringing it up and you're like, yeah,
- 24:27Speaker 2: well it's actually over. I got offered a full time job, and.
- 24:31Speaker 5: That's how we found it.
- 24:32Speaker 4: That's one of my favorite moments.
- 24:34Speaker 2: You explain that for anyone who doesn't understand what we're
- 24:36Speaker 2: talking about as well.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I would bring in so i'd like go through
- 24:40Speaker 4: X and I was like, all right, I gotta start,
- 24:41Speaker 4: like I gotta do something, because you guys were awesome,
- 24:44Speaker 4: but I was like I need to start showing what
- 24:45Speaker 4: I can do. And I was like, first thing I
- 24:47Speaker 4: can do is just be like get your gimmicks going,
- 24:49Speaker 4: like I love bits like I handed out the cards today,
- 24:51Speaker 4: a fun fact trivia like that. Shit just makes me happy.
- 24:53Speaker 4: So every day I would bring in a new item
- 24:56Speaker 4: for my desk when I got a desk, and so
- 24:57Speaker 4: this would pop up, a Condoma TJY bobblehead, the Kobe
- 25:01Speaker 4: Bryant Magazine, and so I remember one day I looked
- 25:03Speaker 4: at g and I said, gee, could I interest you
- 25:05Speaker 4: in being interested in my desk Guide? And it was
- 25:08Speaker 4: just like yeah, sure, And from there it started slowly
- 25:11Speaker 4: becoming a thing to then I think it was it
- 25:13Speaker 4: was one of our first companies. You were like, hey, dude,
- 25:14Speaker 4: what'd you bring in today? And I was like, you know, man,
- 25:16Speaker 4: and I did it, said, bro, I did not bring
- 25:19Speaker 4: something in. And I could feel genuine disappointment from you,
- 25:22Speaker 4: which is.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Just like, man, like I feel like this was like
- 25:25Speaker 2: where me and you were really about to just connect.
- 25:27Speaker 2: And really, in about five seconds you figure out you
- 25:31Speaker 2: got hired full time for truly, Like I don't know
- 25:34Speaker 2: why I think today I haven't feel a little emotional.
- 25:36Speaker 2: I'm not feeling I'm like, dude, I'm so stokey. You
- 25:38Speaker 2: gotta hired. Yeah, even such an amazing addition, thank you.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Your personality is super bright and like it just brings
- 25:45Speaker 2: just a new good vibe and energy and yeah with
- 25:48Speaker 2: the cards today, like you wore in Arkansas pull over
- 25:54Speaker 2: the day before Tennessee plays and like you immediately put
- 25:58Speaker 2: on like you know, some to see logan you print
- 26:01Speaker 2: off from the printer, take the ship out of it,
- 26:03Speaker 2: and then he put something on my desk where it
- 26:05Speaker 2: was like an apology and it was like one free
- 26:07Speaker 2: volunteer moment. It was like, does not include like moving
- 26:10Speaker 2: or something else, which is great.
- 26:13Speaker 4: It had the dog over top of an Arkansas pagan
- 26:16Speaker 4: and said free for one volunteer moment does not include
- 26:18Speaker 4: moving into or out too of houses, apartments or living complex,
- 26:21Speaker 4: which was just great.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I mean it just it was a very well done
- 26:24Speaker 2: card too. You just like wrote with sharpie on like
- 26:27Speaker 2: this piece of paper, but like obviously you and JP
- 26:30Speaker 2: have an actist brochure thing.
- 26:32Speaker 5: He was ahead of me when JP is ready.
- 26:35Speaker 4: No, it was funny. Yet Jack's like, well, what did
- 26:37Speaker 4: you bring in? And I was like in my brain,
- 26:39Speaker 4: I was like I could be like, oh dude, you
- 26:42Speaker 4: could and I could be well, I could be hype
- 26:43Speaker 4: and I could be like no, no, no, here's why
- 26:44Speaker 4: I didn't. But I was like, nah, dude, keep it.
- 26:46Speaker 4: And I was like, you know what, I didn't bring
- 26:47Speaker 4: something in today, man, And he was just like, oh dude,
- 26:50Speaker 4: like what the fuck? And I was like, well, that
- 26:52Speaker 4: was for my contract that got hired full time and
- 26:54Speaker 4: he's like what the fuck. He was like, that's how
- 26:56Speaker 4: we're gonna find that way. And Jack like he's like,
- 26:58Speaker 4: g did you know he got full you know he
- 27:00Speaker 4: got full time and just like this whole like, eh, dude.
- 27:02Speaker 4: It was a great moment. And there's so many of
- 27:05Speaker 4: those little moments, like it's so funny because you guys
- 27:07Speaker 4: are from the outside perspective, like not to blow your
- 27:10Speaker 4: top stuff, you're very cool, Like you're very cool people.
- 27:13Speaker 4: You are on busting you running for president? No, but
- 27:16Speaker 4: like you have this presence about you guys that is
- 27:18Speaker 4: like we are this is the group. Like I can't
- 27:21Speaker 4: explain to you how cool it is to tell people
- 27:22Speaker 4: I'm I literally said to my mom, was like, no,
- 27:24Speaker 4: I'm one of the boys that's busting like and she
- 27:26Speaker 4: was like, what the fuck does that mean. I was
- 27:28Speaker 4: like no, like, I'm I'm like one of this thing
- 27:31Speaker 4: that is this and it's super cool because you know,
- 27:33Speaker 4: I've done mine the words and my buddy Josh one
- 27:35Speaker 4: hundred thousand hours of podcasting, one hundred thousand hours of graphics,
- 27:38Speaker 4: like I've done all the little shit that the second
- 27:40Speaker 4: this opportunity came up, I was like, oh no, I
- 27:42Speaker 4: know I'm gonna do the job. Well, it's about getting
- 27:45Speaker 4: you guys to like buy into me as a person too.
- 27:47Speaker 4: That's an important part of what you el built here.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Definitely sure what was so?
- 27:52Speaker 1: You said the interview process was hilarious and stuff, Well
- 27:56Speaker 1: what stood out? Yeah?
- 27:57Speaker 4: So really genuinely what stood out was me kind of
- 28:01Speaker 4: fumble it in myself not a bad way. But I
- 28:03Speaker 4: you know, got the call or the email from Clump
- 28:06Speaker 4: and I remember it because I had like the meta
- 28:09Speaker 4: thing was a contracted to run there rolling out on
- 28:12Speaker 4: meta So twenty twenty six, all ads creative will be
- 28:15Speaker 4: made by AI. So it's this well known thing. They
- 28:17Speaker 4: had contacted me to lead a team of creatives to
- 28:21Speaker 4: run AI generated ads through our own eyes to say
- 28:24Speaker 4: if it's gonna be good or not. And I was like,
- 28:26Speaker 4: all right, cool, that's meta. And then there was another
- 28:27Speaker 4: gig at an agency that I was getting through the
- 28:29Speaker 4: final what would have been a remote with one week
- 28:31Speaker 4: in Kentucky, Like it was cool, and then I get
- 28:33Speaker 4: the email from Jermy Clump. It's just like hey, like
- 28:35Speaker 4: want to talk to you had the first call and
- 28:37Speaker 4: I'm just like this dude is so like it's not
- 28:40Speaker 4: a disrespectful he's goofy, like Clumb's a goofy. He's a dude, right,
- 28:44Speaker 4: and so he's like, yeah, did that, And then next interview,
- 28:47Speaker 4: I like didn't hear from him for like two days,
- 28:49Speaker 4: and I'm like, all right, this could be a bit
- 28:50Speaker 4: like anybody can make a bus in Gmail whatever, and
- 28:53Speaker 4: he's like, yeah, I'm gonna bring well. He was like,
- 28:56Speaker 4: I'm gonna bring Chef on. And so the next interview,
- 28:58Speaker 4: Chef comes on and I'm asking a couple questions and
- 29:00Speaker 4: Chef's answering them are like really well in a good setting,
- 29:03Speaker 4: and Clumps get it. And then Clump's like, yeah, man,
- 29:06Speaker 4: your homework really is to watch the latest episode, which
- 29:09Speaker 4: I had already gotten like halfway through, like huge fan,
- 29:11Speaker 4: and so I was like yeah, and he's like, cut
- 29:13Speaker 4: some clips of it. So I'm cutting, and I cut
- 29:16Speaker 4: about three clips and I'm talking like he said, if
- 29:19Speaker 4: you can send them tomorrow, that'd be sick, and I'm like, fuck, dude,
- 29:21Speaker 4: I don't even got Adobe Premiere right now. So I
- 29:24Speaker 4: signed up for a free week of Adobe Premiere and
- 29:26Speaker 4: I was like, let's do this shit. Cut the clips,
- 29:28Speaker 4: sent them in. There was like one issue with a
- 29:30Speaker 4: jump cut him and I talked through. Then he goes, awesome, man,
- 29:33Speaker 4: I'll reach out soon. Another three fucking days goes by,
- 29:36Speaker 4: and I'm like, now I'm getting my own head because
- 29:39Speaker 4: I don't know who. Luckily, my buddy Josh got me his.
- 29:44Speaker 4: I was like, thank God, but no, because I didn't
- 29:46Speaker 4: know Chef. I didn't know Sherm. I knew who Will
- 29:49Speaker 4: was because of Barstool and Will. I didn't know Will,
- 29:53Speaker 4: and I didn't know this Jeremy guy. And I'm just like, fuck, dude,
- 29:55Speaker 4: like i don't know if they liked it. I'm sitting
- 29:57Speaker 4: there like twitching, like they fucking hate this shit. And
- 30:00Speaker 4: so Clump comes back. It's like, yo, that's sick. We
- 30:03Speaker 4: want you to cut three more clips, and he goes,
- 30:07Speaker 4: I know yours is Thursday. He goes, dude, so we
- 30:10Speaker 4: had a conversation about it, but he's like, I need
- 30:13Speaker 4: you to cut these clips. I know you're leaving for
- 30:14Speaker 4: the beach Saturday morning at eight am. I was going
- 30:17Speaker 4: to Myrtle Beach out out of South Carolina, and he goes,
- 30:19Speaker 4: I want you to the world. I have the worst
- 30:23Speaker 4: record of mini golf there, but I've played all the courses.
- 30:24Speaker 4: It's great. I was like, yo, Bro, like uh yeah.
- 30:27Speaker 4: He's like, I want you to cut a clip for
- 30:29Speaker 4: Will's Instagram, cut a clip for Sirm's Instagram, and cut
- 30:32Speaker 4: a clip for before the Dad's Instagram. He's like, you'll
- 30:34Speaker 4: be running or cutting clips for all of them. Haven't
- 30:39Speaker 4: fucking done it yet, Shit.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Don't even do it.
- 30:41Speaker 8: I still remember Clump telling me that. I was like, Clump,
- 30:43Speaker 8: we put every like, we don't specify for people's accounts.
- 30:47Speaker 8: I was like, We're just gonna make him do it.
- 30:48Speaker 4: I was like, all right, shit, well I did I
- 30:50Speaker 4: like longest like to get in it. So stayed up
- 30:53Speaker 4: till about two in the morning cutting them because there
- 30:55Speaker 4: was a glitch era because I downloaded the YouTube video
- 30:57Speaker 4: and kept fucking up. Did that.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Senate's just saying, anyways, like I just downloaded from you
- 31:02Speaker 1: to Bro.
- 31:03Speaker 5: I'm like, that's crazy.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Yeah, he I mean get there. I'm at the beach.
- 31:09Speaker 4: My families, yeah, if you're Clump phone and my whole
- 31:13Speaker 4: family's like, all right, so you're like auditioning for a
- 31:14Speaker 4: podcast and they knew I did my whole thing, but
- 31:17Speaker 4: it was never serious up until now, Like it was
- 31:19Speaker 4: never a job. So Clump calls me. He's like, hey, bro,
- 31:22Speaker 4: can you cut clips today or no? Can you put
- 31:26Speaker 4: together a social strategy? And I was like, yeah, I
- 31:28Speaker 4: do that in my sleep. Cranked it out in like
- 31:30Speaker 4: two hours on the beach with my fiance with Margarita's
- 31:33Speaker 4: which was great. Day goes by, send it next morning,
- 31:36Speaker 4: eight thirty five of them on the golf course. Hey man,
- 31:39Speaker 4: can you talk soon from Clump?
- 31:41Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 31:41Speaker 4: Bro, Like just let me know. I'm golfing. But I
- 31:43Speaker 4: got you this motherfucker. Don't text me back till the
- 31:46Speaker 4: next day at like ten, Bro, I'm like, I'm sitting
- 31:51Speaker 4: I'm like, hey, guys, can you make sure, Yeah, my
- 31:53Speaker 4: phone's plugged in, thank you. I'm supposed to get a
- 31:54Speaker 4: call that I was on like the hey dad, don't
- 31:57Speaker 4: use the phone. My friends are gonna call and I'm
- 31:59Speaker 4: Ethernet like that's literally where we were. And so then
- 32:03Speaker 4: the next day he's like, yeah, dude, we want you
- 32:05Speaker 4: to do to come in Like, yeah, you're You're getting it.
- 32:07Speaker 4: And I talked to Clump eventually about it because my
- 32:09Speaker 4: first day was Breca. So my interview day was when
- 32:12Speaker 4: Brecca was and there's just moving parts and I'm like
- 32:14Speaker 4: dodging balls getting thrown and like shit fuck. And so
- 32:17Speaker 4: I get in there and Clump comes in. The strategy
- 32:20Speaker 4: went well, I walked Will through it like same as
- 32:23Speaker 4: if I was doing it for one of the bank
- 32:24Speaker 4: clients we had back in the day. And I find
- 32:26Speaker 4: out later that week that Clump's like, oh no, that
- 32:28Speaker 4: was like an insane ask. He's like, you hit every
- 32:31Speaker 4: check mark. He's like, I, You'll never have a day
- 32:35Speaker 4: hard as that interview process at Bustin.
- 32:39Speaker 8: Yes please missing a big point. He came in at
- 32:42Speaker 8: like one o'clock in the Afternoonca Breca went for some
- 32:47Speaker 8: reason we had like, oh, it was a big recording day.
- 32:50Speaker 8: So he gets there. We asked him to get there
- 32:51Speaker 8: at one. We sit down, me sure and Clump. We're
- 32:54Speaker 8: having a great time talking to him. We're like, well,
- 32:56Speaker 8: we'll should be done, We'll should be done really really quick,
- 32:59Speaker 8: like in it now. Two and a half hours go
- 33:01Speaker 8: by and they just finish up that, which is like
- 33:05Speaker 8: unforeseen circumstance and Willson like you could tell Will's just
- 33:09Speaker 8: had a long day.
- 33:10Speaker 3: When they do these big recording days for.
- 33:12Speaker 8: People that don't know, it's like you just go and
- 33:15Speaker 8: go and go, yeah, so will sit down and I
- 33:16Speaker 8: can see the look on his face where he's like
- 33:18Speaker 8: in that mode where it's like, don't talk to me, no, yeah,
- 33:21Speaker 8: kind of like a no bullshit mode. Derek handled himself
- 33:24Speaker 8: really fucking well because I know in that spot. I
- 33:27Speaker 8: remember my first days an intern. I was very fucking nervous,
- 33:30Speaker 8: and I think that would have definitely thrown me for
- 33:32Speaker 8: a loop. But like insane circumstances that he went through,
- 33:36Speaker 8: very impressive.
- 33:38Speaker 1: This might have been another time. But did you have
- 33:40Speaker 1: to be somewhere, like get on the road that day?
- 33:43Speaker 4: Not that day? There was the other day. So we
- 33:46Speaker 4: had that day where I told them I had nothing
- 33:48Speaker 4: that day. Yeah, So me, Chef and Sherm literally sat
- 33:50Speaker 4: there and we watched all of my old ads on
- 33:52Speaker 4: my portfolio, like there's a brewery and talk called Black Abbey,
- 33:55Speaker 4: and I did this ad H called the Patron Saints.
- 33:58Speaker 4: It's my favorite thing I've ever done. But it's all
- 34:00Speaker 4: like when you go to the bar, like the girls
- 34:01Speaker 4: are best friends in the bathroom, there's a patron saying
- 34:03Speaker 4: to the bathroom bestie like this. So we watched all that,
- 34:05Speaker 4: We watched old serf pro ad shit like that. And
- 34:08Speaker 4: so then Will comes in and I did ask I
- 34:10Speaker 4: had chef and scharman like Yo's Will because I have
- 34:12Speaker 4: this persona of will of his barstool days, booze ponies
- 34:15Speaker 4: like all that shit. I'm like, he always a little cold.
- 34:17Speaker 4: They like it's a little bit of a test. But
- 34:19Speaker 4: it was a long day and so cool. The next
- 34:21Speaker 4: time I came in was for a recording and I
- 34:23Speaker 4: brought my buddy RJ. So that was when I was like, oh,
- 34:26Speaker 4: we kind of gotta go, and RJ just sat got
- 34:27Speaker 4: you in the room the whole day and I was like,
- 34:29Speaker 4: how was your day, RJ? And He's like, they're all
- 34:31Speaker 4: really cool guys. I just watched TV and smoked and
- 34:34Speaker 4: I was like, oh cool man. Like, so if you
- 34:36Speaker 4: just if you noticed him going outside and coming back in,
- 34:39Speaker 4: shout out my boy RJ. But no, it was just
- 34:40Speaker 4: it was funny for that and then coming in and
- 34:43Speaker 4: just like yeah, I mean everyone's obviously been been great
- 34:45Speaker 4: for but it's so funny and you're right, it does
- 34:47Speaker 4: feel like it's been a year already, which is great.
- 34:50Speaker 3: I love it. Just did you talking through your hiring
- 34:53Speaker 3: process reminded me of mine and like how.
- 34:56Speaker 5: I truly thought you were getting punked?
- 34:58Speaker 3: Yes, I know, you know, like I yeah, Like I
- 35:03Speaker 3: got a text from Will. I'm like it's like is
- 35:05Speaker 3: this match cars? And I'm like yeah, He's like it's
- 35:07Speaker 3: Will Compton and I'm like bullshit. Well, I'm just sitting
- 35:11Speaker 3: next to Will.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Thinking the photo like say this.
- 35:17Speaker 3: And I like looked up the area code. I'm like,
- 35:19Speaker 3: it's from Missouri. I know Will's from Missouri and he
- 35:22Speaker 3: said it's Will. It's Will Compton picture for reference, and
- 35:25Speaker 3: it's like it's his LinkedIn photo from his coll like
- 35:28Speaker 3: his senior year of college and like one of the Yeah,
- 35:32Speaker 3: it was like like this is like I literally went
- 35:35Speaker 3: home like yeah, I think Will Compton texted me but
- 35:38Speaker 3: I don't know. But then, so, like how you said
- 35:40Speaker 3: you were waiting for a couple of days, I was
- 35:42Speaker 3: waiting for like two or three weeks, I mean, and
- 35:45Speaker 3: I was bombarding JT with emails.
- 35:49Speaker 5: Versus Clumb texting. Yeah, there was at least day with club.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Intentional. Do you think Will's was intentional? Like what when
- 35:58Speaker 4: he made you wait that long?
- 35:59Speaker 3: No, it was from it was more so from you
- 36:01Speaker 3: and Will, but you guys were also just at Green
- 36:04Speaker 3: Bay right, and like, I think you may have gone
- 36:07Speaker 3: somewhere else.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I think so. Yeah, And there was like another person
- 36:10Speaker 1: in the interview process too, and essentially it was just
- 36:13Speaker 1: Will and I kind of trying to do it while
- 36:14Speaker 1: also doing.
- 36:15Speaker 3: The other stuff, like also having a ship ton of
- 36:17Speaker 3: stuff to painting. But yeah, I was like, I I
- 36:23Speaker 3: think I've sent JP like ten email.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I was like, hey, yeah, that time was about the
- 36:30Speaker 2: size of how many people we have in this room.
- 36:32Speaker 3: It was us three and Bloss and Boss.
- 36:34Speaker 1: But like even Boss was kind of like there are
- 36:37Speaker 1: sometimes literally just a three of you.
- 36:39Speaker 3: Blas crazy it's part time. And then Will and Taylor,
- 36:43Speaker 3: I mean when.
- 36:43Speaker 6: You walked in and just saw us, well, I know
- 36:45Speaker 6: we've talked about many times. Was sitting at the desk
- 36:47Speaker 6: the same table I was working.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Do we have this No, no, this is still still He.
- 36:55Speaker 5: Actually sat at the desk in the back of the bus.
- 36:57Speaker 4: To work and we shared this damn yeah it come ups,
- 37:02Speaker 4: crazy dude.
- 37:03Speaker 3: It was I literally walked Yeah, it was. It was too.
- 37:08Speaker 3: It was two tables like that back to back, and
- 37:10Speaker 3: then like it was like a t yeah, yeah, I
- 37:12Speaker 3: had the TA and like we worked by that bathroom
- 37:14Speaker 3: in the back on the other side, and if one
- 37:17Speaker 3: of you, one of us had a bad poop, everybody
- 37:19Speaker 3: was smelling it like it was we were in the change.
- 37:22Speaker 3: No for real, but yeah, when I walked back, there
- 37:26Speaker 3: was like, oh.
- 37:27Speaker 5: This basically sounds like everyone's hiring process was interesting.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Convention was the job.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I was long as crap. I had to make a
- 37:35Speaker 1: make a log out of some clips they sent me
- 37:38Speaker 1: while I was like also trying to legitmate rent and
- 37:41Speaker 1: I was in Florida. My first day, I had to
- 37:44Speaker 1: upload a full episode from my laptop in Florida. The
- 37:47Speaker 1: episode was late. Will blast me on Twitter. It was crazy, damn.
- 37:51Speaker 2: JP's first eight in office was Dave episode.
- 37:54Speaker 5: Yeah our first time.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Oh my god, the kid the at South can of
- 38:00Speaker 1: When I was talking to one of the classes, they
- 38:01Speaker 1: asked like, how to like face failure and I told
- 38:05Speaker 1: them I was like, well, kind of at my job,
- 38:07Speaker 1: when you mess up, it gets blasted out to everybody,
- 38:09Speaker 1: so you have to do it head on. And I
- 38:11Speaker 1: use that example of them of Will being like, we
- 38:15Speaker 1: just hired somebody, but apparently he can't get the episode
- 38:17Speaker 1: out on time, so like everybody let at j Hovey
- 38:20Speaker 1: thirty four. No, I was like, so basically, I guess
- 38:23Speaker 1: the best way to face it is to bring back bullying.
- 38:25Speaker 5: And that got a few laughs.
- 38:28Speaker 1: But you know college is different now.
- 38:33Speaker 4: And we can change that with this campaign, Okay, and
- 38:36Speaker 4: that's why we're here coming down to cocky.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Speaking of campaigns, you and Coop have been on a
- 38:41Speaker 1: camp started a little bit of a seed.
- 38:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I don't I don't even remember how
- 38:47Speaker 5: they noticed that. Do we want to say the name?
- 38:50Speaker 5: What about when we start? Well the journey? Yeah, from
- 38:54Speaker 5: the beginning, I feel like so, I guess midway through
- 38:57Speaker 5: this year, I just started cracking seeds at were like
- 39:00Speaker 5: every day, just doing it, and I posted a tweet
- 39:03Speaker 5: about it, like whatever, David's the standard some flowersy brand,
- 39:07Speaker 5: and I like tweeted like I found my people because
- 39:09Speaker 5: someone else tweeted about it. And that was like midyear.
- 39:12Speaker 5: And then you get here. You like seeds and we're
- 39:14Speaker 5: just like cracking them. And then we clump wanted to
- 39:17Speaker 5: order smack in a some flower seed brand that they
- 39:20Speaker 5: do a lot of promotion on TikTok. Maybe you've seen them,
- 39:22Speaker 5: but they have a lot of flavors. So we just
- 39:24Speaker 5: ordered a ton, like a bucket full of them, and
- 39:26Speaker 5: so me and Derek started ranking them on the wall
- 39:30Speaker 5: and I posted the picture on Twitter, and then like
- 39:32Speaker 5: a week or two later, of the posted rankings, they
- 39:36Speaker 5: reached out, like to my tweet directly.
- 39:38Speaker 4: I think, yeah, oh yeah, they commented right underneath it.
- 39:40Speaker 5: They commented on our rankings, and then you know, back
- 39:43Speaker 5: and forth and DM a little bit, and then they
- 39:44Speaker 5: sent us a care package.
- 39:46Speaker 8: Uh.
- 39:47Speaker 7: And so we got that and we have a video
- 39:49Speaker 7: that we will be releasing soon a reaction to them,
- 39:53Speaker 7: which is.
- 39:53Speaker 5: Fun it's in.
- 39:54Speaker 3: It's in.
- 39:54Speaker 4: It's in Coops computers, you'll get it out. And the
- 39:56Speaker 4: balls you're skipping too, it's funny. We Uh so I
- 39:59Speaker 4: started to take a little bit over the streams that
- 40:01Speaker 4: we're sitting at that table and it's me Jared Chef
- 40:04Speaker 4: and then Coop on the left side, and we are
- 40:07Speaker 4: all like sharing two bags of David's, which or no
- 40:12Speaker 4: of a bigs and.
- 40:15Speaker 7: Might not have been enough for a stream full on
- 40:17Speaker 7: dugout over there. We're sitting, we're sitting on the table
- 40:22Speaker 7: like we're at the ball.
- 40:24Speaker 4: And so we we started on David's and then I
- 40:26Speaker 4: was like, yo, may I put you on and we
- 40:29Speaker 4: switched the bigs which is Hidden Valley, and so we're
- 40:31Speaker 4: ripping them and Jared is like at the computer coop
- 40:35Speaker 4: chef me and he just goes, y'all know you can
- 40:37Speaker 4: buy your own individual bags, right, Fuck this guy, he's
- 40:41Speaker 4: not a seed boy. So we started doing that and
- 40:44Speaker 4: then Chinook reached out and sent us little care package,
- 40:46Speaker 4: reached out to It's become a And that's the one
- 40:49Speaker 4: thing I'll say, like if I have a gift of
- 40:51Speaker 4: like content shit, sniff out opportunity like that, like this
- 40:55Speaker 4: is a thing that we're gonna we're gonna go with forever.
- 40:57Speaker 7: It happened so fast too.
- 40:58Speaker 5: And kick to a special shout out as well because
- 41:02Speaker 5: their partner with We don't have a lot of baseball
- 41:04Speaker 5: fans here, some of you all I know who is
- 41:06Speaker 5: Bobby Wait Junior, one of the best players in in baseball,
- 41:09Speaker 5: And they sent us signed baseball Bobby Wait Junior because
- 41:11Speaker 5: he's he's partnered with them, which I thought was like
- 41:13Speaker 5: a really cool I said, yeah, it's on my desk,
- 41:18Speaker 5: Bobby Wit signed baseball. He plays for the Rangers, the
- 41:21Speaker 5: Royal Royles. Was he the guy that made that diving
- 41:24Speaker 5: catch when we were in Saint Louis game. Yeah, that's
- 41:27Speaker 5: why I know that name. He's one of the best
- 41:32Speaker 5: short shortstop.
- 41:33Speaker 4: Fun fact.
- 41:33Speaker 7: He also went to the same high school as Max Crosby.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Oh so.
- 41:39Speaker 4: Boys, I stole that from He didn't go to college player.
- 41:43Speaker 7: He went to the same high school with Colleville and
- 41:45Speaker 7: Dave w.
- 41:46Speaker 4: So we had a car ride my buddy that does
- 41:50Speaker 4: like events in Pittsburgh. We were going to Philly to
- 41:52Speaker 4: do one of his. He did this hotel event for
- 41:54Speaker 4: the Kifton Hotels and so it's called Clocked Out, and
- 41:57Speaker 4: we took it to the Philly one and we had
- 41:59Speaker 4: me his videographer, another guy that was just rolling with us,
- 42:03Speaker 4: and then the dj A on a sprinter van. I
- 42:06Speaker 4: bought six bags of seeds and me and the dj
- 42:08Speaker 4: pound threw them on the way there. My one buddy
- 42:10Speaker 4: was like just a couple of seed boys chipmunks in
- 42:12Speaker 4: the back. And so seed boys has stuck with me
- 42:15Speaker 4: for like I love them and just sit there and
- 42:17Speaker 4: do it. In the tweet that Coops talk about it started,
- 42:19Speaker 4: it said, don't let anyone tell you that you can't
- 42:21Speaker 4: just rip a bag of sunflower seeds at work.
- 42:23Speaker 7: It's like yeah, And I was ripping a bag of
- 42:25Speaker 7: some flower seeds at work.
- 42:29Speaker 5: Ripping through bag you know who.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Yeah, been really ripping through them as of late. That's yeah,
- 42:37Speaker 2: Ku be favorite.
- 42:40Speaker 5: I thought you were about to say, because brought something
- 42:42Speaker 5: like everyone is on he brought something to the zoo.
- 42:48Speaker 4: Tigers last night.
- 42:49Speaker 5: At the Zoo.
- 42:50Speaker 6: I was cracking some. I love that work saying cracking too.
- 42:54Speaker 6: I was cracking some on my drive to South Carolina
- 42:57Speaker 6: on Friday.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Yeah. He was like, I brought some seeds for you
- 43:00Speaker 1: because they got the ones.
- 43:01Speaker 4: Oh yeah. The first thing you said though, because I
- 43:04Speaker 4: remember we went to it was Taylor was too, because
- 43:07Speaker 4: we bought the bigs and Taylor ran through one of
- 43:09Speaker 4: my bags and I was like, yeah, you know it
- 43:11Speaker 4: is what it is?
- 43:12Speaker 5: What's that you can't bring like just one portion of something,
- 43:15Speaker 5: it'll be gone. Yeahs let's go.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I didn't know they lived that long.
- 43:21Speaker 3: That's yeah.
- 43:22Speaker 4: That's a nice there's a hole up there. Uh he
- 43:27Speaker 4: ripped through nothing Like what the hole? Could it come
- 43:29Speaker 4: from the hole he ripped through a bag or whatever?
- 43:31Speaker 4: And uh. I basically stopped at a BUCkies and I
- 43:34Speaker 4: was like, let me see what flavors they have there
- 43:35Speaker 4: and they had Chinook, and so I bought a couple
- 43:38Speaker 4: of them and I just was like, I'm not bringing
- 43:39Speaker 4: these in yet. I just I did. I bought like
- 43:40Speaker 4: lemon Pepper didn't love it, and I we come in
- 43:43Speaker 4: and we're like your bigs, and JP goes, if you
- 43:44Speaker 4: guys ever heard of Chinook? And I'm like, fuck, that
- 43:45Speaker 4: could have been such a bonding moment with JP. Fuck,
- 43:48Speaker 4: but we got Chinook and you got your bag, Jlipino
- 43:52Speaker 4: another flavor.
- 43:53Speaker 5: Another funny story about the seeds is I went to
- 43:55Speaker 5: the dentist a few weeks ago, yes, and she after
- 43:59Speaker 5: she claimed teeth the High Genesis River, She's like, do
- 44:03Speaker 5: you I thought this was a wild questions.
- 44:05Speaker 7: She's like, do you like dip or do lose those
- 44:08Speaker 7: zen pouches?
- 44:09Speaker 4: And I'm like, no, I don't.
- 44:10Speaker 7: She's like, well, the tissue like in your cheek on
- 44:13Speaker 7: the left side of your mouth is like white and
- 44:15Speaker 7: kind of like ruugh, like like it's been you know,
- 44:19Speaker 7: like it's it's distressed. I'm like, oh, She's like like.
- 44:21Speaker 4: So you don't.
- 44:22Speaker 5: She's like you don't.
- 44:24Speaker 4: She's like, you don't do what you talk about.
- 44:29Speaker 5: But she's like she's like questioning me, and I'm like,
- 44:31Speaker 5: could it be from sunflower seeds?
- 44:33Speaker 7: And she's like, yeah, it could the salt in the sodium.
- 44:36Speaker 5: I was like, I was like, yeah, well, I just
- 44:39Speaker 5: basically riped seeds from nine am to I'm nine to five,
- 44:43Speaker 5: so nine to five seed ripper every day.
- 44:46Speaker 2: What did she say about that you have to change?
- 44:48Speaker 5: She's like, she's like, I've never She's like I've seen
- 44:51Speaker 5: She's like, I've never seen that before. Like that is
- 44:52Speaker 5: so interesting. And then she's like, oh, I'm glad, Like
- 44:56Speaker 5: I'm glad it seeds and not tobacco.
- 44:58Speaker 7: I'm like, you're not my mom. Also, but then I
- 45:01Speaker 7: followed up and I was like, also, is this gonna
- 45:04Speaker 7: be like a problem though? And she's like maybe, like
- 45:07Speaker 7: super long term, but like there's no gum damage. I'm like,
- 45:09Speaker 7: all right, I'm gonna keep up.
- 45:12Speaker 5: Problem. Maybe I'll switch. You guys put your seeds on
- 45:15Speaker 5: the same side every time.
- 45:16Speaker 4: Every time I got to mix it up, I've had
- 45:18Speaker 4: to switch.
- 45:18Speaker 5: I tried to switch while I was driving.
- 45:20Speaker 8: Bro.
- 45:20Speaker 3: It was a disaster.
- 45:21Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. That's why you probably have white.
- 45:24Speaker 5: I'm not there yet.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like you get there you get playing
- 45:27Speaker 3: baseball and ripping seeds all the time. I mean, you
- 45:29Speaker 3: just kind of get used to.
- 45:30Speaker 6: The best sport baseball is. They'd have the bucket in
- 45:33Speaker 6: the dugout. I would just get a handful put them
- 45:35Speaker 6: in my back pocket.
- 45:36Speaker 3: Yeah, so you got you guys would have like a
- 45:38Speaker 3: full bucket of just one of the yeah, one.
- 45:40Speaker 4: Of the dads or keep Yeah it's just the bucket
- 45:44Speaker 4: that we have down there, but you empty. But they're
- 45:46Speaker 4: just I mean those are just O g fla like seeds. Brother,
- 45:50Speaker 4: we got fucking cheeseburger. Now we got loaded.
- 45:53Speaker 7: Yeahs a ship a cheese.
- 45:57Speaker 5: If you want to send Coop and Derek more seeds,
- 46:01Speaker 5: be amazing.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Because we've looked up some brands. Maybe is there anybody
- 46:04Speaker 4: that you're you're I mean, Biggs is the one, but
- 46:06Speaker 4: they don't got an next account. They got an Instagram David's. Like,
- 46:10Speaker 4: my thing with David's is that's the one that will
- 46:12Speaker 4: destroy everything in your mouth salt they can you know
- 46:17Speaker 4: which we'll disrespect David's.
- 46:18Speaker 7: Yeah, And that's what I was doing before we started.
- 46:21Speaker 1: You're an animal for that, Yeah, That's what I was
- 46:27Speaker 1: doing before the hardcore.
- 46:29Speaker 4: S bro chinook and uh smacking. They are both low
- 46:33Speaker 4: so they're low SODIUMIG. My big issue with David, they're
- 46:35Speaker 4: a little tiny fucking seeds like they've they got comfortable
- 46:38Speaker 4: at the top of a market that really has now
- 46:42Speaker 4: started to catch up to them, and we you know,
- 46:44Speaker 4: we're in the ground, Floyd, we're scratching the surface right
- 46:46Speaker 4: because David, they got little tiny seeds. All the other
- 46:48Speaker 4: ones I mean big specifically backyard barbecue. That thing is
- 46:55Speaker 4: the garlic parm.
- 46:57Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, I was sleeping on this.
- 46:59Speaker 1: The in the.
- 47:03Speaker 4: Sugar is a lead.
- 47:05Speaker 3: I'm I'm I'm a sweet boys.
- 47:08Speaker 7: I've been on the pepper literally like I'm shoving pepper
- 47:10Speaker 7: into my mouth, like raw pepper.
- 47:13Speaker 5: Salt pepper.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Maybe I guess that, I mean, we all we all
- 47:17Speaker 3: have that our side quest. I don't know if it's
- 47:19Speaker 3: a joint side quest for the both of you, just
- 47:21Speaker 3: more seeds.
- 47:24Speaker 4: When I heard you guys talking about side quests, I
- 47:27Speaker 4: do have question. Is it one that you're like promising
- 47:30Speaker 4: you're doing or is more just kind of like a thing,
- 47:32Speaker 4: because I think making that official sick.
- 47:34Speaker 3: It's kind of like your side content, Like my side
- 47:36Speaker 3: content is flag golf.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Mind's painting. I have done about it, but I can
- 47:43Speaker 2: feel my bones man.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Sale for her tails, make it to midnight for him,
- 47:51Speaker 3: and then we need to get cooped to start doing
- 47:52Speaker 3: some streaming stuff.
- 47:54Speaker 7: And I just have not been on the game as much.
- 47:55Speaker 7: And I say that I've been saying that for.
- 47:58Speaker 6: I would like to get back on the game, get
- 48:00Speaker 6: my hand muscles worn back up before.
- 48:03Speaker 7: It's almost gaming season.
- 48:05Speaker 1: The winner like it's a little older.
- 48:07Speaker 3: I feel like gaming. I feel like gaming seasons once
- 48:09Speaker 3: football is over.
- 48:10Speaker 5: I don't know if I downloaded Skate wrong.
- 48:12Speaker 2: I saw on my marketplace or my friends list. It
- 48:15Speaker 2: was like like Gary downloaded and I was like, dang, downloaded,
- 48:19Speaker 2: But I never saw you actually in.
- 48:21Speaker 5: I went in and it was like the trial or
- 48:23Speaker 5: some ship.
- 48:24Speaker 2: It's an early accident, that's what it is.
- 48:26Speaker 5: Skate Skater literally made my guy and just rode for
- 48:32Speaker 5: like five minutes.
- 48:34Speaker 2: Island. Yeah, yeah, you have to take challenges.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Takes you like fifteen to twenty minutes to get off.
- 48:41Speaker 2: One of my gripes. Skate is the probably the best
- 48:44Speaker 2: place to skate in that game is tutorial Island, and
- 48:47Speaker 2: you cannot access it but go back. No, but there's
- 48:50Speaker 2: a whole city with like four different sectors in it,
- 48:52Speaker 2: and it's four different like cities within a major city.
- 48:54Speaker 2: But anything that's a free game and you have that
- 48:58Speaker 2: much to do in it, I'm all on it. And
- 49:00Speaker 2: I think I mentioned this in a couple episodes ago,
- 49:02Speaker 2: but just to feel something for video games at my
- 49:06Speaker 2: old age of about to be thirty one, that is
- 49:09Speaker 2: such a massive win. I just like crave that, Like, man,
- 49:13Speaker 2: when I get home, I'm gonna make dinner and I'm
- 49:15Speaker 2: gonna play that game until I go to sleep. And
- 49:17Speaker 2: that they it does not happen a lot anymore so
- 49:22Speaker 2: this week, so I'm nervous and we're like hitting.
- 49:24Speaker 3: The Yeah, that's how That's how I am.
- 49:26Speaker 4: Like that, Scar, what's the first game you felt that with?
- 49:29Speaker 8: Four?
- 49:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, Callity four was seventh grade for me. Yeah,
- 49:34Speaker 2: Modern Warfare. It just changed my life with video games,
- 49:37Speaker 2: and it also was a really big moment in how
- 49:40Speaker 2: to share things. I had two younger brothers, so at
- 49:42Speaker 2: the top of the pecking order, it's like obviously I'm
- 49:45Speaker 2: playing first, but then once the younger brothers start aging
- 49:48Speaker 2: and they're like going to mom while I'm like, you know,
- 49:50Speaker 2: on an epic kill Streak. Mom's coming in and she's like,
- 49:53Speaker 2: after this game, James is up and I'm like fine,
- 49:55Speaker 2: and then she's like and then Joey's up and I'm like, okay, this.
- 49:57Speaker 4: Is too gonna get cold.
- 49:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna get cold.
- 50:00Speaker 2: But yeah, call thorty four is a big one for me.
- 50:03Speaker 2: I want to go back kind of into your life
- 50:05Speaker 2: outside of seeds and working. Well, what is what is
- 50:08Speaker 2: Derek like to do? Yeah, well, I'm very curious as myself,
- 50:12Speaker 2: and I know the listener is too.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:14Speaker 4: I mean genuinely, it's funny because I feel a little
- 50:17Speaker 4: bit lost from it. Like the things that I've done
- 50:18Speaker 4: in my life, the number one thing is I have
- 50:21Speaker 4: had which we did. I'm not ever going to say
- 50:23Speaker 4: we stopped. We pause doing it. For the last seven
- 50:26Speaker 4: six or seven years. Every Thursday from six to eight,
- 50:29Speaker 4: I have done a live stream podcast called two Beers Deep,
- 50:33Speaker 4: and I stopped it to emphasize on our streams, but
- 50:35Speaker 4: also just like hold on, I need to focus on
- 50:37Speaker 4: this to hit it. So love podcasting like that is
- 50:41Speaker 4: my highlight, favorite thing ever I have. I believe it's
- 50:43Speaker 4: at eighty five and eighty five ranking of a brewery system.
- 50:48Speaker 4: So beer is always been a part of my life,
- 50:51Speaker 4: like in terms of just being around the bar scene.
- 50:53Speaker 4: I worked in a restaurant. I grew up with breweries.
- 50:56Speaker 4: That's social for breweries. So I have a list in
- 50:58Speaker 4: It's all across the country from Hawaii. I have some
- 51:01Speaker 4: in Seattle, some in Philly, so obviously a ton in Pittsburgh, Nashville, Chicago, Detroit,
- 51:06Speaker 4: like all these so ranking breweries, I have my own system.
- 51:08Speaker 4: It's crazy.
- 51:10Speaker 3: I have a.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Spreadsheet can have a power ranking of just Nashville because
- 51:15Speaker 2: I'd love to hear that that's breweries for me. I'm
- 51:17Speaker 2: a chef's one because I love it, just like a
- 51:20Speaker 2: domestic light beer. And obviously breweries you're not going to
- 51:23Speaker 2: have just like you know, a course of bud light.
- 51:25Speaker 2: Well yeah, I know you're listening to a bud light.
- 51:29Speaker 3: I used to work at one. I used to work
- 51:33Speaker 3: at a beer distributor, so like I've got it really
- 51:35Speaker 3: big into I Pas and then two, I used to
- 51:37Speaker 3: work on a TV show that would go to different breweries,
- 51:39Speaker 3: so that guy main big into it. So I'm I'm
- 51:41Speaker 3: a big I P a guy.
- 51:42Speaker 4: It's funny almost bud like bud like PA and it
- 51:47Speaker 4: is this big like Christ. But so to that point,
- 51:50Speaker 4: you're like, Okay, I like light beer. I don't really
- 51:53Speaker 4: know if a brewery I would hundred percent, but I
- 51:56Speaker 4: would say you have to and obviously you're gonna know
- 51:58Speaker 4: about it, have to go to Smith and Lentz. So
- 52:00Speaker 4: Pilsner's one of the reasons. So for example, like you
- 52:03Speaker 4: can see the best in Nashville, but you can see
- 52:07Speaker 4: like how crazy and the scoring systems, and it's all filtered,
- 52:14Speaker 4: and I'll share it out. I give the link to everybody.
- 52:16Speaker 4: It's beer space, food scene people. Is the model beer
- 52:19Speaker 4: is pretty standard. It's it's do you hit all the
- 52:21Speaker 4: flas Like for example, Beard or Black Abbey in Nashville
- 52:24Speaker 4: just does their beers. They don't really do specials. They
- 52:26Speaker 4: do some collabse here and there. They did one called
- 52:28Speaker 4: Dancing Mannequin. Those good, But like, how good is the
- 52:31Speaker 4: beer that you do? Do you have all the flavors
- 52:32Speaker 4: as your red el or red Al? Do you experiment?
- 52:34Speaker 4: Do you try some shit? Space is the place that
- 52:37Speaker 4: you're in. Do you just do it well? There's some
- 52:39Speaker 4: breweries that this would be the whole area. Okay, cool?
- 52:42Speaker 4: Is it set up well? Do I feel comfortable in it.
- 52:44Speaker 4: Is it a sick venue food scene? Can I bring food?
- 52:47Speaker 4: Or their food trucks? Do you serve food? Because not
- 52:49Speaker 4: all breweries need to have it. Smith and Lentz Pizza
- 52:51Speaker 4: puts them right now. Smith and Lentz is my third
- 52:53Speaker 4: top brewery on this entire list. And then people. People
- 52:57Speaker 4: is the people that work there, the people that are there,
- 52:59Speaker 4: the people that sit at the bar, the community around it.
- 53:02Speaker 4: How close are you to it? If there's somebody at
- 53:04Speaker 4: the bar that's just being a jerk to people, your
- 53:06Speaker 4: people score goes down, which I know is not the
- 53:08Speaker 4: breweri's fault, but like that's that's what you're dragged in
- 53:10Speaker 4: and shit. So the top ones I have from Tennessee
- 53:13Speaker 4: Smith and Lentz right now is third. They come in
- 53:15Speaker 4: at a total score of sixteen point five out of twenty,
- 53:19Speaker 4: which the highest is seventeen point six.
- 53:23Speaker 3: Rate.
- 53:23Speaker 4: Yeah, because each one, five, ten, fifteen, twenty on it.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Fate la force. Have you heard of that Fate of force?
- 53:30Speaker 8: Is?
- 53:30Speaker 4: It's fucking gas first and foremost it's in Wedgwood, Houston,
- 53:34Speaker 4: So bro So do you know when you come to
- 53:38Speaker 4: those train tracks and you make it right and there's
- 53:40Speaker 4: never never make a left. You go past that apartment building,
- 53:43Speaker 4: go up the hill way.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Is it the place that sandwich spot is.
- 53:45Speaker 5: It's at the top of the hill by ol Fourno.
- 53:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it is the brewery next thing.
- 53:49Speaker 3: I have been there. That place is a vibe.
- 53:52Speaker 4: Iron No Fate La Force, but there is probably an Iron.
- 53:56Speaker 4: There's a something there. Fala Force opened about two years ago.
- 54:00Speaker 5: Gonna pause. When I went to grab Jack, I just
- 54:03Speaker 5: got skin, heard a noise and I wasn't fail for
- 54:06Speaker 5: us to sick.
- 54:07Speaker 4: They do a cold Ship by Pa, which is one
- 54:08Speaker 4: of the fewst places I found here. Really good. They
- 54:11Speaker 4: do Star Wars Day every year. Just a total vibe.
- 54:14Speaker 4: The people are awesome. Love going there. When they had
- 54:17Speaker 4: the craft brew Convention in town. I bummed tickets off
- 54:19Speaker 4: my buddy who makes a can drink in PA and
- 54:22Speaker 4: they had a bunch of parties and that was at
- 54:23Speaker 4: one of them, which was unbelievable. I'm trying to get
- 54:25Speaker 4: in this dude. It's my favorite's bearded Iris is sitting
- 54:28Speaker 4: here at eleven. Homestyle is the greatest beer I think
- 54:32Speaker 4: that I've had. It is Yeah, Ipa and it's it's
- 54:36Speaker 4: so crazy because it is an ipa, but it's an ale,
- 54:38Speaker 4: but it's not quite an ale. It's juicy, but it's hazy.
- 54:41Speaker 4: Every time someone comes in, I hand them one of those.
- 54:43Speaker 4: And right now, Bearded Iris they're at a fifteen point eight,
- 54:46Speaker 4: which is great.
- 54:46Speaker 7: Do you have a Southern Grists on there that one
- 54:48Speaker 7: hits close at home?
- 54:49Speaker 4: Southern Grist the reason they are not higher. So they're
- 54:53Speaker 4: eighteenth right now. And chef and I talked about this.
- 54:55Speaker 4: I have not accounted the ranking for the restaurant in
- 54:57Speaker 4: east in that restaurant s I know it does. I
- 55:02Speaker 4: just have not updated. But they're My issue with them
- 55:05Speaker 4: is and it's not an issue with them, but they
- 55:07Speaker 4: just they knock hazes out of the bark. Hazes are
- 55:09Speaker 4: a fad and if that's all you're doing, I just
- 55:11Speaker 4: want to see. But they do have some sick ass.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Beer over there.
- 55:14Speaker 4: And then another one tenfold. If you guys have ever
- 55:16Speaker 4: heard of tenfold, It is out I forget the name
- 55:20Speaker 4: of the area, just a little bit outside of town.
- 55:22Speaker 4: There's like a party foul out there. They do gluten
- 55:25Speaker 4: free pizza, so my fiance is gluten free. Amazing. They
- 55:28Speaker 4: just hit all of their beers to a beautiful point.
- 55:31Speaker 4: They have a stage outside. Every time you go there's
- 55:33Speaker 4: dogs running around Donaldson Yes, yeah, thank you, yeah yeah yeah.
- 55:38Speaker 4: So that one rips and it just dude, I mean
- 55:41Speaker 4: Barik Brewing if you've ever heard of that. Barique Brewing
- 55:44Speaker 4: is next to so Titan Stadium and all that industrial
- 55:46Speaker 4: park before you get to the nights in. It's in
- 55:49Speaker 4: one of those loading docks and I literally, dude, So
- 55:54Speaker 4: I pulled up and it's just loading dock ship everywhere,
- 55:58Speaker 4: and then a wooden door that looks like I'm going
- 56:00Speaker 4: to fucking Narnia and you go in, it's hole in
- 56:03Speaker 4: the wall. They're the only place here that does cast
- 56:05Speaker 4: brew it. So they brew the beer, they put it
- 56:07Speaker 4: into an oak cast or a whiskey cask.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Into it.
- 56:14Speaker 4: They if you go in, they just have barrel like
- 56:16Speaker 4: oak cask barrels everywhere. And what happens is Black Abbey
- 56:19Speaker 4: had this for a little bit. Jamison will note their barrels,
- 56:23Speaker 4: how many rotations they do, and then they ship those
- 56:26Speaker 4: barrels to specific number of breweries. So Black Abby for
- 56:28Speaker 4: a while was a Jamison partner. And you make the
- 56:30Speaker 4: beer and then age it in that they age their
- 56:33Speaker 4: beers and they do a good job with like cherry tart,
- 56:35Speaker 4: sours and things. But they do cask beers, and so
- 56:38Speaker 4: they'll let it age in the cask and sit there.
- 56:40Speaker 4: It just deepens the flavor. It's just sick like it
- 56:43Speaker 4: just it makes it different.
- 56:44Speaker 3: This is so sick.
- 56:44Speaker 5: What about thinking the jackalope is near us?
- 56:48Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 56:49Speaker 5: Monday night.
- 56:52Speaker 4: I want to remember.
- 56:56Speaker 3: There's one in Oh I'm thinking of fat Bottom, which.
- 57:00Speaker 1: I'm getting so to go through?
- 57:02Speaker 5: What's the one under the bridge h.
- 57:07Speaker 4: Tennessee Brewers? So to go through? Which I can't. I
- 57:10Speaker 4: don't know, I can't filing. Number one in Tennessee is Lens.
- 57:15Speaker 4: I'll talk about one and two because they're they're there.
- 57:18Speaker 4: Number one in Tennessee, I'm so sorry. Number one in Tennessee.
- 57:20Speaker 4: One and two are from Pennsylvania. I'm so sorry.
- 57:23Speaker 2: Number three in the country.
- 57:25Speaker 4: In the country.
- 57:27Speaker 3: Are you is this? Are these two? How many have
- 57:30Speaker 3: you been in Pennsylvania?
- 57:32Speaker 8: Oh?
- 57:32Speaker 4: Gosh, we all Pittsburgh. There's uh so, I have Socony
- 57:38Speaker 4: brewing out towards you a little bit, but that's more Pocono's.
- 57:41Speaker 4: There's Pocono brewing in here. I have there's a couple
- 57:45Speaker 4: in Philly and I'll tell you flat out, dude, it's
- 57:47Speaker 4: not their fault. Forest and Maine is one on here.
- 57:50Speaker 4: I went during COVID, So it doesn't there have a
- 57:52Speaker 4: low score due to space and food because we just
- 57:54Speaker 4: got to go talk about some of the other Tennessee
- 57:57Speaker 4: ones in here. Marble Fox if you guys have ever
- 57:59Speaker 4: heard of Marble Boxes, They took over for jackal Ope
- 58:02Speaker 4: in the Gulch. So they're across from finn Googles.
- 58:06Speaker 3: Yeah, McDougall's and like that two hands. Yeah, they they
- 58:09Speaker 3: do a really good IPA. Never see anybody in there.
- 58:13Speaker 4: I used to go in because I go to that Scouts.
- 58:15Speaker 4: Paying for parking sucks, so i'd park the brewery. You
- 58:17Speaker 4: get free parking for a beer, walk over to my
- 58:19Speaker 4: haircut and go home.
- 58:20Speaker 5: Do you have what's it called chef the one the
- 58:23Speaker 5: zool Do you have on there? And I know Soul
- 58:26Speaker 5: just bought Yeah, they bought Southern Gris. Yeah I have
- 58:29Speaker 5: not because Southern Griss hasn't changed technically to what they are.
- 58:32Speaker 5: But like East Nashville brew, Crazy Gnome is a sick
- 58:34Speaker 5: one in East they just got a brand new spot.
- 58:36Speaker 4: Have you been no, Okay, I.
- 58:38Speaker 6: Was worried that they went out of business because it's
- 58:41Speaker 6: not there anymore. A barbecue place moved in. Yep, that
- 58:45Speaker 6: smells incredible.
- 58:46Speaker 4: Do you know Sinkers the distributor Overn East. So there's
- 58:49Speaker 4: a covered bridge and if you go through it you
- 58:51Speaker 4: get the Sinkers. You make a left before it crazy
- 58:54Speaker 4: Noome bought a large space out there. So I used
- 58:57Speaker 4: to know one of the bartenders who was a Gaton. Yeah, Gallaton,
- 59:00Speaker 4: super sick the old El Fuego. Yeah, like right that
- 59:04Speaker 4: it's so tapped. So I would say, hold on, I
- 59:08Speaker 4: do have I do Southern Hop inrls Inlet, South Carolina
- 59:13Speaker 4: is thirty eighth on the list right now.
- 59:17Speaker 5: Have you been to any in Birmingham, Alabama?
- 59:19Speaker 4: I have not been to.
- 59:21Speaker 5: They've got a couple. They've got a couple down there,
- 59:24Speaker 5: like Avondale. Good people, I.
- 59:26Speaker 4: Got yeah, good people. Good People is a good brewery
- 59:29Speaker 4: I've never been.
- 59:31Speaker 8: No.
- 59:31Speaker 4: I have Seattle, Oklahoma City, I have Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philly, Savannah,
- 59:35Speaker 4: Georgia was a good little spot which one Okay, see,
- 59:40Speaker 4: I have Prairie or Tesi Nails, I have Lively Brewing,
- 59:44Speaker 4: and then one of my favorite ones is stone Cloud Okay,
- 59:47Speaker 4: stone Cloud's Big stone Cloud is six on my overall list.
- 59:50Speaker 7: They put a stone Cloud in Stillwater. They put one
- 59:54Speaker 7: in Stillwater right after I graduated.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Bro that rips Angry Scotsman, rips Ola brew and who
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Yi and rips so no so Coonah.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: Is it?
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: Yeah, Cona's Pizza rips a bi Yeah maybe. Beer Wave
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: also went to one in Texas and wax A Hatch.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: I will say the two that are at the top
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: of this list are if anybody knows me, not a shock.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: They're both in Pittsburgh, so extremely biased. But here's kind
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: of what I've been forcing Clump to do. When we
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: go for the draft. I'm forcing him to let everyone go.
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: I have no idea if we can make that happen,
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: and I'm forcing him to let us all stay there
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: for a week for me to show you guys around.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: Probably not gonna happen, but Pittsburgh for the d O.
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: Hell yeah, it'd be amazing.
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: Number two on the list in the country is a
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: brewery called Trace Brewing. Trace Brewing is done by a
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: gentleman he used to His name is Adam Soorma is
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: their head of like their marketing. He drove a mini
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: bus around forever and just gave people tokens and like
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: two different breweries. It's awesome. And then Cinderland's Ring in
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Pittsburgh is my number one in the country. They have
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: a crunch trap Supreme, two story. They used to be
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: called a spaghetti factory. They gutted it. Yard games downstairs,
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: balcony upstairs.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: It rips.
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: Have you have you ever made your own beer?
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: Yeah? Man, I have the kid at home. I bought
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: it for uh my agency. We had this thing called
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: Conviction Days, which is if you're convicted for something, you
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: get PTO to go do it. I went and bought it.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: All I miss timed is this past Christmas. I missed
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: time when I was leaving to go home.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: On convicted Days.
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: Convicted conviction you're convicted about something. Conviction to tell us you.
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: Feel real strongly about it.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Right, What would be an example for me?
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: I thought I was like line of cockylat you didn't
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: go to Now the conviction is like you're doing. Conviction
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: is a strong feeling about something. So I'm convicted to
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: come in here and do the best work I can do.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: It's a driving force. I'm gonna do everything I can
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: not convict and young Jeezy, I'm learning. Yeah I have
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: beer though, yes I brewed it fucked up. My whole
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: apartment smelled like malt for like six months. It was
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: this past Christmas messed up when I was driving home
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: by a week, so it wouldn't have been ready and
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: if I would have left it it would have gone bad.
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: Poured it out. It was the best smelling beer I've
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: ever poured out.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: But I have the kid.
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: I tried to make one in college, and uh, what
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: is it like before the last two weeks? You put
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: yeaston didn't do that.
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: Uh went to go check on it after the two
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: weeks and there was like this layer of shit at
- 1:02:35Speaker 6: the bottom. I was like, okay, maybe that just like
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: happens or whatever. Drank it, drink and so so sick
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: and like insanely buzzed.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: It was.
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: It was insane.
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: I remember being like, oh my god, I'm gonna pass out.
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: And I woke up and was like that couldn't have
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: been good for me at all, And then looked at
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: up up and you.
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: I was like, oh, missed probably.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: The most important.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: So were you just like throwing up stuff?
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: I mean, I like felt sick it was more of
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: just like a hot like flash and like a hard buzz,
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: like just in my head and truly just laid down
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: and then woke up like a couple hours later.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Damn.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Did you meet Shannon yesterday.
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: Or at the girl that?
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: I don't know? No?
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: No, I only got to say Hidi for a second
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: because I was with the nephew and they pulled us in.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: She's she's originally from pa and they live in Philly,
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: but her brother is a brewmaster a small place.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: Uh where pa is she's from Bethlehem.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: It's in fish Town where Yeah, it's like the whole parlor,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: but I don't know. It's a small one.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: Nice that's in Philly, right, fish fish It's kind of
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: like in a it's like northern it's kind of near
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: like the drug area.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: Also some breaking, so to say, first time I asked
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Shane to be my girlfriend at the zoo Saturday.
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: No, let's go it's quest.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that honestly kind of is my side quest. I
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: did say the end of the year getting married. I
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: don't know if that's gonna happen before December, but you
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: felt very confident about it. I took Shannon down to
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Huntsville for a Billy Strings concert. It was her first
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: time she's been enjoying the music. She knows how much
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: I love it, and she was like, jokingly in the
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: first few weeks that we had kind of been seeing
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: each other, she was like, I'm not saying, like you're
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: going to ask me to be your girlfriend, but if
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: the time of her comes, She's like, I don't want
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: it to be some grand gesture. And so we're sitting there,
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Billy is playing like a very beautiful love ballad, and
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: like I have my arm around her, and it's like
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: the whole place is lit up red. I'm like, this
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: would be an ideal moment to whisper be like do
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: you want to be my girlfriend? But I'm remembering she
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: didn't want that, even though in my head, like I
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: feel like she still would have, so I don't. But
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: we're sitting outside the show afterwards. The O'Ryan Amphitheater is
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: an amazing venue. If you ever have the opportunity to go,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: I would highly encourage it. After the show's done, outside
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: of the venue, they have like essentially like a small
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: space where a band plays, and they have like they're
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: serving beer and stuff for like a few hours, We're
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: kind of sitting on this staircase behind it and I
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: they're playing Quartz the Killer, an awesome Neil Young song
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: that's one of my favorites ever, and I'm just like
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: feeling this moment. I'm like, I'm so much fun, Like
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: she's just never been an issue with me. And I go, man,
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: like we're sitting on ten stairs. I go, this would
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: be she watched me play skate a lot ago. This
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: would be an awesome ten set to hit on skate
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: and she laughs, and I just go, do you want
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: to be my girlfriend? And she literally is like, no
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: fucking way, you just said that, and then like she's like,
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: well yeah, but like and then so I you know,
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: it was fun.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: But that's awesome yea, because because if she didn't laugh
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: with the ten step or didn't understand.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Let's get out of here.
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: I'm glad you asked, though, because when I met my fiance,
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: we had that thing of like I did ask her,
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: and I have other friends who the guy was like, dude,
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: you asked her, and the girl was like, yeah, you
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: haven't fucking asked me and what are we doing? So
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: I'm glad that you asked because I feel like that's
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: always a conversation with people was like, does it just
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: happen or do you I like the moment, Yeah, I'm
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: with you, and I.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: Guess we are doing relationship advice. I'm not want to
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: be giving it, but very grateful to to have met
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: shann And she's awesome.
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: She's she's done, she's just you guys know me and
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: have known me.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: For a while, and like I can fluctuate with my moods.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: She keeps me very in the middle, which is great,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: and like on her worst days is like how I
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: could operate on like my just like normal days. So
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: it's it's nice to have like a good, just like
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: person around. So yeah, I don't know why I kind
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: of dove down the trouble, but the next time y'all meet,
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: I'm excited. She loves beer.
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: Yeah, like her brother's sick.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: She did graphic design, and so before she was really working,
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: she was designing beer labels for her brothers like three,
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: which is super cool.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: That's the dream.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: And so I know that he's got that and you know,
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: kind of the same general location. I know the pirates are.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: You know, it's not.
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: That I give no dicks to anybody that's like, oh,
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: you're from Pa, you must love Jowell and beid On
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: like the other side, it's like six hours that way.
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: But no, that's sick.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: That a question. Yeah, are you going up there for Christmas?
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Probably not because Jimmy is coming from Hawaii and coming
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: back here, so that's like a tough one. Her parents
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: don't live there anymore. Her parents are retired now and
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: live uh forget some retirement kind of comedy in Florida somewhere. Yeah,
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: let's it.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: Because the reason I asked is like, one, we could up.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: If we do two ca Yeah, if we do, possibly,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: I would like to go up and check out her
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: brothers like brewery and stuff at some point. That's so
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: we'll see how it goes. But yeah, next time we're
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: all hanging around, she would love to hear and see
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: we're scale because that's not what I expected you to say,
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: was your hobby? Right, Yeah, dude, I feel like I'm
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: just learning today.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Yeah, there are other hobbies, but that's the one that
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: like I made a fucking spreadsheet for you.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Wait, so if you had to go one v one Yeah,
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: seeds versus beer.
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: Oh, it's not close. It's beer and the reason it's
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: not like I love here's how a word. If I
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: could sit on my desk and drink as many beers
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: as I have seeds instead at my job, that would
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: be the dream too. Uh No beers. It's funny as
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: like when I was doing thoughtching the bench stuff. Me
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: and my co host on our podcast two Beers Deep,
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: we say it because you're at your best when you're
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: two beers deep. You can stop drinking and still get
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: home and be fine, have a good night, or that's
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: the peak when you have the third one in the
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: night keeps going like two is the perfect number. And
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: so we started doing that because during our pre pro
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: we'd have two beers out of the six pack and
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: then have some more there.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: But we do.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: We did vlogs of it going to breweries, and it's
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: just it's a different thing because it's all encompassing, Like
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: if we get to go a seedery that would be sick,
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: but just torn the breweries and meeting the people in
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: the stories and like her brother, like I have. One
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: of my best friends went to college with a guy
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: who got kicked out of his fraternity, who moved to
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: Denver and opened up a brewery and he's just sent
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: me merch just because we've DMed and been like, hey,
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: this is sick. He's had a new one now and
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: I can't remember the name of it. But it's just
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: like a weird, thickest thieves community that I feel like
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: I'm just like a reporter on the outside of it.
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: Yeah, dude, just a beat writer for beer.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: I remember when we need a beer boys.
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: Like craft beer popped off and the labels are what
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: drew me in first.
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: The labels are sick and I'm not on my phone.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: I have a blog that I would love from back
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: in the day to show you guys, do you have
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: off the top of your head, like your top three
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: beer canned design.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: While you think we're also out of hour ten minutes
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: on the podcast, So just keep.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: That in mind. Yeah, how are we at a battery
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: with those?
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: I well, that's looking too. The reason I asked because
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: I've always thought like the Voodoo Ranger ones are sick.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: Coming out with a new I P a really or
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: like a tropical I POS.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: The logos or the way the can looked is how
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: I would pick. I would just like that one looks cool.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: I'm gonna try it.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: For sure, this is awesome, Like it does taste like ship.
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: What's the monkey one? The milky one monkey magic? Is
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: it magic?
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: There's they have Golden Monkey and Sour Monkey. Yeah, those
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: are great. I am a sucker that one.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: That one's monkey got me to.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: Golden Monkey's crazy.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: That one's Downtownes the key of can that I actually
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: kept and I'm not even a big beer drinker, but
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: the can looks so sick.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: There's one called Lacto Cooler. There's a brewery called Voodoo,
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: not Voodoo Ranger, but Voodoo that I interviewed their graphic
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: designer just one day for our pod and it is
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: the I can't remember it, the slimer from Goose Bump
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: and they have it on the can and it's holographic
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: on the can. I'll get them to The sentiment was cool.
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: Because obviously it I feel like within the craft beer
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: community is a bunch of people that have like artistic ability,
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: crazy dude, and so for them to get to show
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: it on they're tattoo artists without a needle at this point,
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: like most beer guys want to be tattoo artists.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: Is how I've always met And the other thing about it.
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: We used to go for Black Abbey and when we
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: did their marketing and just look at Turnip Truck and
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: look at the cans and just see shit, And I'm like,
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: welliars aren't selling because they're sticker and you can see
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: the sticker and it looks weird compared to these cans
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: that are all madded. Then you got like, when you're
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: looking at there's just so much intricacies to it, and
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: it all comes down to the weight of it, the
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: amount of money are you gonna store it? All, like
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: all these logistical things that Luckily, that's why I'm a
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: fan of it, not a part of it because it's crazy,
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: but it's sick. Yeah, a lot of cans, dude.
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: I know.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: We've talked about doing an inside the bus vlog for Golf.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: Whether it's kind of turn a little bit. Who knows.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: Potentially we could do a little brewery crawl, bring the
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: fucking leader of the pack with us, take us top.
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: In Nashville and go We'll rent one of those brew
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: hop the green trolley buses and just go around and
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: I'll dial the way home and still be a happy
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: man like that.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: That'd be dope, love it.
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: I have a blog here that I read for clump
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: one day that is titled top ten beers to have
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: that I would love to get your guys opinion on.
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: This is from I Believe twenty twenty, so I'll go
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: fast on it. I wrote a scenario where I was
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: just like, these are my top ten favorite beers. Ten
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: the first family member beer. Nothing quite hits like the
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: first time your cousin or family member offers you a
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: beer for the first time legally of course. Nine the
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: oh my god, there's one beer left?
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: Beer?
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: Have you ever thought damn amount of beer? And magically
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: one appears in the bottom of the fridge. Somewhat up
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: above is looking out for you. Wow, there's a beer.
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: Eight The Pto beer, whether you have PTO or not.
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: Cracking a cold one while sending out the last email
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: before a long vacation really starts the VAKA off on
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: the right foot. This one is it's climbed up the rankings. Now.
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: The hotel balcony beer, whether it's a new city or
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: just celebrating the one that you love, something about pretending
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: to be rich and famous, That just hits home. Six,
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: and this is controversial, The airport beer at six easily
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: the most underappreciated beer, but everyone has it is in
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: internet mogul. Where's she off to Hawaiian shirts in October?
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: He must be going to Sweden drinking beers at six am.
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: Mitch five, the first one at the reception bar beer.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: Every single wedding reception has ended in a hangover, but
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: nothing is more refreshing than the first beer after you
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: watch your loved ones say I do big points if
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: you're the one that says this rounds on me at
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: the open bar.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: Number four the before going out shower beer. Yeah, music
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: is a must, but I didn't want to just add
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: shower beer. It has to be about a build up.
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: Top three the new city beer. New breweries and establishments
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: are half the fun of traveling, but cracking the beer
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: in a new city feels adventurous. Number two The weird
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: day drinking beer, starting off or staring at a thirty
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: rack out of Saturday morning. Nothing compares to it. Not
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: birds or alarm clops can wake you up, faster coffee
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: can't compete. The world is your oyster, and the number
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: one beer of all time is the next beer. I'm
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: a sucker for a good cliche, but nothing is as
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: good as your next beer.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: That's awesome. I wasn't aware of how good of a
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: rider you are, man.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: Really bring this in Like we're there, I can taste that.
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: I have three hundred pages on my blog website of
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: just shipped. My first one is called f James Harrison,
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: and I didn't put it out for a week because
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: I was like, what if he reads it and kills me?
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: But I put it out because he had gone to
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: the Patriots that.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: Day, so I don't think there's barely that. That may
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: have been the best way to end off the pod.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Yeah, because what's the best pod?
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: The next one? Oh my god, campaign and we'll see
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: you next and we'll see you next week.
