- 0:02Speaker 1: This is Teddy Teapot with Teddy and Kevin. Hi, guys,
- 0:13Speaker 1: welcome to this week's Teddy Teapod. I've got to say
- 0:17Speaker 1: that I have really no idea what you're in store for. Normally,
- 0:22Speaker 1: before every podcast, we kind of talked through who the
- 0:26Speaker 1: guests are, what we're gonna be doing. I get sent
- 0:28Speaker 1: a rundown, but this time the producer sent me nothing,
- 0:32Speaker 1: and I have a feeling it's because I am turning
- 0:35Speaker 1: forty and they have something up their sleeve. Maybe guest colors.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I don't know, but going into forty definitely feels better
- 0:45Speaker 1: than I thought it would, Like, I really, I remember
- 0:48Speaker 1: when I was younger and when I would like ask
- 0:50Speaker 1: my mom how old she was and she'd say thirty six,
- 0:52Speaker 1: and I'd be like, wow, that is so old, and
- 0:55Speaker 1: I would think that in my head. And now that
- 0:57Speaker 1: I'm forty, I mean I really and until I see
- 1:00Speaker 1: myself in a picture with someone who's like in their twenties,
- 1:03Speaker 1: that's how old I actually feel. And I know that
- 1:07Speaker 1: sounds kind of cheesy, but I am young at heart,
- 1:09Speaker 1: except for the fact that I like to go to
- 1:11Speaker 1: bed at eight thirty at night. But I really feel
- 1:14Speaker 1: good in my own skin going into forty and I
- 1:17Speaker 1: can't say that about twenty or even thirties. So, you know,
- 1:21Speaker 1: it's it's emotional, like I'm just so happy that I've
- 1:26Speaker 1: gotten into a place in my life where i feel
- 1:29Speaker 1: confident and I feel comfortable, and I feel proud and excited. Um.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And then I have a loving family supporting me. Um.
- 1:39Speaker 1: So I'm glad of all the work that We've done
- 1:42Speaker 1: as a family and all the work that I've personally
- 1:44Speaker 1: done on myself throughout these last you know, forty years. Um.
- 1:50Speaker 1: And in regards to plans, I am going to be
- 1:55Speaker 1: spending it with my family. Booked. Um, I just booked it.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I I know how I am. So it's like I
- 2:01Speaker 1: booked my favorite restaurant. We're in Orange County right now,
- 2:04Speaker 1: so book my favorite restaurant here. It's called South the
- 2:06Speaker 1: next you know, I love to have an early dinner
- 2:09Speaker 1: with the family at you know where we can all
- 2:11Speaker 1: have fun. Plus it's the only time Death can actually attend.
- 2:14Speaker 1: If not, she's completely nightmare baby. And just spend the
- 2:17Speaker 1: day at the beach, um, and then spend the fourth
- 2:21Speaker 1: out here, and then I'm gonna go get a little
- 2:25Speaker 1: wild next week I am going with ten couples to
- 2:30Speaker 1: celebrate my birthday range your style next week. Edwin asked
- 2:35Speaker 1: me if there's anything you could want for your birthday,
- 2:39Speaker 1: what would you want? And I said, I want to
- 2:42Speaker 1: go away. Like we're all vaccinated, we're all feeling good,
- 2:46Speaker 1: Like I want to go away with my friends. I
- 2:47Speaker 1: want to be with my family and my actual birthday.
- 2:49Speaker 1: But then I want to go and we have so
- 2:52Speaker 1: many fun things planned, which I'll have to do a
- 2:54Speaker 1: recap with that later, but I'm really excited. Um, it's
- 2:59Speaker 1: also my ten year wedding anniversary this week, so pretty
- 3:05Speaker 1: much all the things. We're celebrating all the things. And
- 3:08Speaker 1: I can tell you guys, but my husband. I was
- 3:11Speaker 1: teasing my husband and I was like, so far tenure,
- 3:14Speaker 1: you know, I think that's diamonds, And he's like, I
- 3:16Speaker 1: bet you didn't even get me anything. Why are you
- 3:19Speaker 1: giving a tough time? Like I'm kidding, I'm getting star
- 3:21Speaker 1: about the gifts. But I am surprising him today with
- 3:25Speaker 1: a golf cart because we live like where we live,
- 3:27Speaker 1: we can drive around and he's been wanting one forever.
- 3:30Speaker 1: So I'm actually really proud of myself. Plus I can't
- 3:33Speaker 1: wait for him to feel awkward when he hasn't gotten anything.
- 3:37Speaker 1: This is why we've lasted ten years because of this,
- 3:41Speaker 1: and then you know what, he'll double down later. I
- 3:44Speaker 1: can assure you of that. Oh my gosh. Well, anyways,
- 3:47Speaker 1: thanks for listening in again this week and I look forward.
- 3:50Speaker 1: What's in store, Danielle, what's coming for me? Please? Hey,
- 3:53Speaker 1: so we have a we have somebody calling in shortly. Um,
- 3:57Speaker 1: they'll be popping into the Zoom waiting room soon. But
- 4:00Speaker 1: before that person calls in, UM, we want to grill
- 4:03Speaker 1: you with a couple of questions. Okay, not really grill,
- 4:07Speaker 1: but just kind of, you know, ask you some questions
- 4:09Speaker 1: about the last decade of your life. So, since you're
- 4:13Speaker 1: turning forty, they say, and you've lived through your thirties
- 4:16Speaker 1: and your twenties, they say that you're the thirties of
- 4:19Speaker 1: the new twenties of your life in the forties or
- 4:22Speaker 1: your new thirties? Is that? Do you think that's true?
- 4:24Speaker 1: Have you felt that way? I don't know if it's
- 4:27Speaker 1: necessarily the new but I what I'm focusing on going
- 4:31Speaker 1: into my forties is peace and just I've never been
- 4:35Speaker 1: a you know, I'm very goal oriented. I want the best.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I work really hard, but I've never really focused on
- 4:44Speaker 1: feeling peace, and like, that's really what I want to
- 4:46Speaker 1: go into this like next year. You know, like I've
- 4:48Speaker 1: had a lot of success, I've had a lot of fun.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I still want, you know, a million things. I still
- 4:53Speaker 1: have a lot of dreams, but I really want to
- 4:56Speaker 1: just focus on being at peace with myself and my life.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And in your thirties, if you had to pick one moment,
- 5:02Speaker 1: obviously there's been so much, all your kids, obviously getting
- 5:07Speaker 1: you know, married, all that stuff, what has been like
- 5:09Speaker 1: the one moment that tops all of it. If you
- 5:13Speaker 1: had to pick one thing, and I can't say my kids,
- 5:17Speaker 1: can't say kids, Okay, if I can't can't pick one
- 5:19Speaker 1: of them, I hope like I can't, well, I would
- 5:22Speaker 1: have just said kids having my kids, Um, I would
- 5:27Speaker 1: say in the last oh my gosh, hold on, okay,
- 5:32Speaker 1: and this this year would like, I mean, the last
- 5:34Speaker 1: two years would have been the best thing. I think
- 5:38Speaker 1: the best thing has been realizing who I actually am.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I think for most of my life I was kind
- 5:46Speaker 1: of like a show girl, you know, like I always
- 5:50Speaker 1: put on a show for family, for friends, for whatever,
- 5:54Speaker 1: and you know, being in my thirties was really a
- 5:57Speaker 1: year of you know, figuring it out. Who am I really?
- 6:01Speaker 1: Who do I want to be? I need to focus
- 6:03Speaker 1: on not what other people want from me, but what
- 6:06Speaker 1: I want for myself and being able to feel that
- 6:09Speaker 1: and be vulnerable and open and like do the work.
- 6:13Speaker 1: It feels good. And now that you're approaching the next
- 6:16Speaker 1: decade of your life, your forties, what do you hope
- 6:20Speaker 1: to either do differently or what are you envisioning for
- 6:23Speaker 1: the next ten years so that when we do this
- 6:26Speaker 1: podcast on your fiftieth birthday you can play it back
- 6:29Speaker 1: that we're gonna really be in and for a doozy. Then.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I think what I'm most looking forward to through the
- 6:36Speaker 1: next ten years, it's just having as much fun as
- 6:40Speaker 1: I can. You know, I think so often I take
- 6:42Speaker 1: myself too seriously. I love to laugh and I love
- 6:45Speaker 1: when people laugh. But like at night when I'm going
- 6:47Speaker 1: to bed, sometimes it's like I just am constantly going
- 6:51Speaker 1: through all the things I need to do, I want
- 6:52Speaker 1: to do, I want to and I really want I
- 6:55Speaker 1: want to just have some fun, like try to lighten up,
- 6:58Speaker 1: have more fun, be present and watch I mean, my
- 7:02Speaker 1: kids are hilarious, My husband. I mean, he's not actually
- 7:06Speaker 1: super funny, but we laugh a lot with him because
- 7:09Speaker 1: he does funny things. Is that bad to say? But
- 7:12Speaker 1: I mean we have a lot of fun and I
- 7:14Speaker 1: just want to embrace those moments. And I want to travel.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I mean, especially after this past, you know, however long
- 7:23Speaker 1: it's been since COVID started, Like it made me realize
- 7:26Speaker 1: all the incredible places I want to go and take
- 7:28Speaker 1: my family. And how like I never until I was eighteen,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I never had a stamp on my passport. Like so
- 7:35Speaker 1: the fact that all my kids have passports and I
- 7:38Speaker 1: am financially in a place where I can travel wherever
- 7:41Speaker 1: I want and do things on a whim I'm really
- 7:43Speaker 1: grateful for and I'm not taking it for granted. It
- 7:45Speaker 1: only makes me want to work harder. I love that.
- 7:48Speaker 1: If you could tell your younger self any anything, any
- 7:52Speaker 1: piece of advice, any um, quote, whatever have you? Um,
- 7:58Speaker 1: what would you say beating myself up after the fact,
- 8:04Speaker 1: it's never needed, Like I am an overthinker to the end,
- 8:09Speaker 1: and it's something I'm still working on. I still tell myself,
- 8:13Speaker 1: but like doing that isn't beneficial and never changes anything.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Like I'm that person that like I could have the
- 8:22Speaker 1: best time and I could be like partying, having fun,
- 8:25Speaker 1: like laughing, and then I will in the morning, I'll
- 8:28Speaker 1: have that titch of anxiety and I'll be like what
- 8:31Speaker 1: I do? Who's mad at me? I'm looking? I'm looking
- 8:33Speaker 1: for something and no one ever is. So that's that's
- 8:38Speaker 1: the saying goes for now. And then last question before
- 8:42Speaker 1: we go to break, um, your kids are they all like, wow,
- 8:46Speaker 1: Mom's turning forty, that's old. What do they think? Like?
- 8:49Speaker 1: What do they say about your forty birthday? I mean
- 8:52Speaker 1: they are pretty funny. Like I was like, tomorrow, guys,
- 8:55Speaker 1: do you want because they're doing half day camps um
- 8:59Speaker 1: like sailing camps and different stuff like that while we're
- 9:01Speaker 1: out here, and I said, tomorrow, do you want to
- 9:03Speaker 1: do a stailing camp or do you want to just
- 9:06Speaker 1: like let's I'll chill, I'll take off for blah blah
- 9:08Speaker 1: blah and slat and crews are like camp. Definitely camp.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I saw that you ordered a pizza that day blah
- 9:15Speaker 1: blah blah, and then I hear Bella got its damn
- 9:21Speaker 1: and then you here, crewis go mon, what's your birthday?
- 9:24Speaker 1: To even even tell us, I'm like you should know, buddy,
- 9:29Speaker 1: So I'm they choose camp tomorrow, will know, we'll know
- 9:37Speaker 1: where they think. But they yeah, I mean they can't.
- 9:40Speaker 1: They kind of can't believe that I'm forty. But they
- 9:43Speaker 1: also they've been cool about it. I mean, probably because
- 9:46Speaker 1: I forgot. So let's go to a quick break and
- 9:49Speaker 1: then when we come back, we'll surprise Teddy with her
- 9:51Speaker 1: first caller, and then, um, we're just gonna have a
- 9:55Speaker 1: show packed with some fun callers. So uh, stay tuned. Okay,
- 10:08Speaker 1: so we're back from break. Before we bring in our first,
- 10:12Speaker 1: um awesome caller, sur price caller, I'm going to go
- 10:16Speaker 1: ahead and play a message from somebody that really really
- 10:19Speaker 1: wanted to call in, but um, she's currently in Hawaii
- 10:25Speaker 1: and um, long story short, she um is partying a
- 10:32Speaker 1: little too hard and wasn't able to call in. So
- 10:34Speaker 1: here's your here's your message. Um, this is from our
- 10:38Speaker 1: lovely Tanya Right. Happy birthday, Teddy. I love you so much.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I just wanted to say thank you for everything. You've
- 10:51Speaker 1: honestly held my hand through so much. You've pushed me,
- 10:54Speaker 1: you've encouraged me. You have been somebody that has been
- 10:58Speaker 1: consistent and loving and faithful and hopeful, and just so
- 11:06Speaker 1: many things. You lead by example and you help lift
- 11:11Speaker 1: other women up and I'm just so grateful for your
- 11:14Speaker 1: friendship and I honestly can't say enough. Um, I hope
- 11:18Speaker 1: you have the best birthday ever. I'm sorry I would
- 11:20Speaker 1: have called you live, but I am on vacation. I've
- 11:24Speaker 1: been drunk and good portion at the time, so I
- 11:28Speaker 1: want to make sure I wish you a happy birthday.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I love you so so much. I hope this is
- 11:31Speaker 1: your best year yet. And I love you. Ah, Tania,
- 11:37Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I just even hearing that everything you
- 11:41Speaker 1: just said to me, not only did it make me emotional,
- 11:44Speaker 1: but it's exactly what I would say to you. So
- 11:47Speaker 1: I think that really shows the level of friendship that
- 11:52Speaker 1: we have. And I think the thing that's so incredible
- 11:55Speaker 1: about Utania is that you are a modern woman. You
- 11:59Speaker 1: are there just so poor. You are there to be
- 12:01Speaker 1: there when somebody's up, when they're down. And I love
- 12:05Speaker 1: you too, and you have so much fun and have
- 12:08Speaker 1: a drink for me. All right, thank you for the message,
- 12:10Speaker 1: even though you made me tear up a little. Well,
- 12:13Speaker 1: hopefully this next color doesn't make you tear up a little. Um,
- 12:17Speaker 1: let's go ahead and bring him in. Are you there? Say?
- 12:22Speaker 1: It's only a paper moon sailing over a cardboard. See
- 12:28Speaker 1: Happy birthday to Teddy when she turns twenty nine? Dad?
- 12:39Speaker 1: Why that's my favorite song? I know? Mmm, well, I
- 12:45Speaker 1: love you so much. Am I going to get my
- 12:50Speaker 1: envelope that I get every year from my birthday? Yep?
- 12:56Speaker 1: Guess what? So every year? My dad, who we're talking
- 13:01Speaker 1: to right now, who of course made me tear because
- 13:03Speaker 1: it's my favorite song. He we used to always he'd
- 13:05Speaker 1: always sing it to us in the car when we'd
- 13:07Speaker 1: go back and forth between his house and my mom's.
- 13:09Speaker 1: But um, every year for our birthday, myself, my kids,
- 13:14Speaker 1: my sister, my siblings, we all get the amount of
- 13:18Speaker 1: money that we are turning. So I'm about to be
- 13:21Speaker 1: rich this year with this forty dollars coming in that
- 13:27Speaker 1: you know I'm actually forty, though I don't want to
- 13:29Speaker 1: be getting twenty nine? Yes, I know, So so what
- 13:33Speaker 1: what will you do with your forty dollars? I just
- 13:38Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. There's just so many options
- 13:41Speaker 1: that it's gonna be h Come on, how do you
- 13:50Speaker 1: think I love? I mean, according to you, when I
- 13:55Speaker 1: was your age I can go to the movies for
- 13:58Speaker 1: a penny, but I can't even go to the movies. Now, Wow,
- 14:06Speaker 1: you don't have to go to movies anymore because they're
- 14:08Speaker 1: not open. True, well, actually they might be opening right now.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Are you Where are you? Are you in Fusky? I'm
- 14:17Speaker 1: onto Fusky Island? Yes? Are you feeling good? I got
- 14:22Speaker 1: a bit of a sore throat that I got from
- 14:24Speaker 1: Uh do do other than that? I feel? Okay? Well
- 14:30Speaker 1: I was. I wish I was with you guys right now. Okay, Well, listen, honey,
- 14:35Speaker 1: have a happy birthday, which is really tomorrow, right And
- 14:41Speaker 1: you know where I was when you were born. Where
- 14:45Speaker 1: I was in Miami making an album called American Pool
- 14:52Speaker 1: and you missed it? Well, yeah, because your mom was
- 14:55Speaker 1: like nine months premature. I was really premature, and I
- 15:02Speaker 1: think I only weighed like four pounds. I don't think
- 15:06Speaker 1: you weighed that much. And when I for the first
- 15:10Speaker 1: time I saw you, you had you were an incubator
- 15:13Speaker 1: and you had little glasses on and you had your
- 15:15Speaker 1: feet propped up. Yeah that's what it looks like. Well,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I look like a little alien when I look at
- 15:23Speaker 1: those pictures. And now that you've grown up, it looks
- 15:27Speaker 1: like a big land. It's true. I've stayed true to
- 15:30Speaker 1: who I am. Dad, that's right, that's right, State of Meloncamp,
- 15:37Speaker 1: State of Meloncamp. Because what Melancamps are what it would say,
- 15:44Speaker 1: Melancamps are the coolest. No has it better than us? Nobody?
- 15:57Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah. Well the last time you said that,
- 16:00Speaker 1: then you fell into my pool playing pick a ball.
- 16:03Speaker 1: So it really that was actually the birthday gift that
- 16:06Speaker 1: keeps on giving because whenever I'm having a bad day,
- 16:09Speaker 1: I just go on them. I'm so glad you weren't hurt.
- 16:13Speaker 1: But it was one second after you said who has
- 16:16Speaker 1: it better than us? Nobody? And then I fell in
- 16:20Speaker 1: the water, and now I got a big scrape on mine.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Your ship. Yeah, but we gave out. We gave you
- 16:29Speaker 1: a real cute outfit to change in too. I still
- 16:33Speaker 1: got it. I know you always steal Edwin's clothes. Oh yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 1: because he's so cool. I know he's just he cann't
- 16:40Speaker 1: teach school, right, Yeah. Yeah, I'm proud of you for
- 16:46Speaker 1: calling it on this zoom. I love you. I love
- 16:49Speaker 1: you too, honey. Have a happy birthday, and I'll talk
- 16:51Speaker 1: to you tomorrow. Talk to you tomorrow. Dad's How did
- 16:54Speaker 1: you guys get him to do that? That's the coolest.
- 16:57Speaker 1: He's literally the cool just to come right in with
- 17:01Speaker 1: a song. I can't he's so cool. I want to know.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So the last time he did this podcast, the amount
- 17:07Speaker 1: of messages that him and I had to have going
- 17:10Speaker 1: back and forth so he could figure out to log
- 17:12Speaker 1: into the zoom and that y'all just got him to show.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I'm actually blown away. He's a pro. Now, who is
- 17:19Speaker 1: your point of contact? Kathy? Kathy? Yes, okay, we already
- 17:25Speaker 1: have our next caller in the waiting room, so let's
- 17:28Speaker 1: go ahead and bring him in. You um should know
- 17:31Speaker 1: him pretty well. I I I Edwood. How are you
- 17:44Speaker 1: You're not gonna come in with a song? You've got
- 17:46Speaker 1: a lot of big shoes to fill, because because my
- 17:52Speaker 1: dad just came in singing, Oh, that's gonna be hard.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Maybe I'll maybe I'll just come in with some wit.
- 17:57Speaker 1: You know how witty I am. So I actually said
- 18:00Speaker 1: earlier in the podcast that you're not funny, but you're
- 18:03Speaker 1: funny to laugh with slash at, so it's pretty laugh
- 18:08Speaker 1: at is probably more like it. Yeah, but we love it.
- 18:11Speaker 1: We love doing it. Yeah, Baby, I just I love
- 18:15Speaker 1: you so much, and uh, I'm so glad that that
- 18:19Speaker 1: they're doing this for you. I uh, you know, I'm
- 18:22Speaker 1: the worst of keeping secrets. So when you were like,
- 18:25Speaker 1: uh telling me about the podcast today, I was like,
- 18:28Speaker 1: I almost like mess that whole thing up. Well, I
- 18:33Speaker 1: love you so much. Can you believe not only am
- 18:35Speaker 1: I turning forty, but that will have been together married
- 18:39Speaker 1: for ten years? Yeah? I know, ten years already and
- 18:44Speaker 1: twelve years knowing each other. Just great, great blessings. It's flown.
- 18:51Speaker 1: It's flown by yes, except when you listen to Sports
- 18:56Speaker 1: Center really loud when I'm trying to go to sleep,
- 18:59Speaker 1: or when you listen into your killing type oh my
- 19:04Speaker 1: murder shows there and Danielle backed me up. Is there
- 19:07Speaker 1: anything more relaxing to falling asleep to serial killers? I
- 19:11Speaker 1: don't think so. Definitely not. I do not like those
- 19:15Speaker 1: you have, no thank you? Nope, nope, nope. What about Hanna?
- 19:19Speaker 1: Do you like them? Absolutely not? They give me the
- 19:22Speaker 1: worst nightmare. You know what I needed? New producers. You
- 19:28Speaker 1: guys don't even know me. Dump no, no, no, no.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Nothing gets me in the mood for a restless sleep. Okay,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I have I have a couple of questions for Edwin
- 19:40Speaker 1: because this is the first time we've ever had him
- 19:42Speaker 1: on this on the podcast, so there's reason that he
- 19:45Speaker 1: has no filter. Okay, so Edwin, first question for you, Um,
- 19:52Speaker 1: what's the one thing you admire most about Teddy? I've
- 19:55Speaker 1: said it on the show before. I think she's stop it.
- 20:01Speaker 1: The organized is not a sexy word. It's just I
- 20:04Speaker 1: tell myself guys all the time. Consistency is not the
- 20:07Speaker 1: sexiest word, but it gets the job done. But obviously
- 20:11Speaker 1: she is organized, but she is beautiful from the inside out.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I think she's gifted, as she's so smart and talented,
- 20:19Speaker 1: and she's she loves unconditionally and I've loved that about her.
- 20:26Speaker 1: So when you're out and about and just going about
- 20:29Speaker 1: your day and you're not with Teddy, what is there
- 20:32Speaker 1: like one thing that you see or here that automatically
- 20:35Speaker 1: reminds you of her? Um. When I'm out and about
- 20:42Speaker 1: what reminds me of Ted's? Um? You getting in any
- 20:49Speaker 1: car and driving always reminds me of Teddy. I'm like,
- 20:52Speaker 1: Teddy can't drive the life I cannot. You could tell
- 20:56Speaker 1: them about a renee story whatever. When when we forget
- 21:01Speaker 1: about Teddy sometimes has this what she's gotten better, but
- 21:06Speaker 1: she always tell me stories that she's told me before.
- 21:11Speaker 1: So I used to date someone that would always do
- 21:14Speaker 1: the same thing. So we have kind of a nickname
- 21:17Speaker 1: for that. When Teddy does it, we we have a
- 21:20Speaker 1: low term for it. It's fine, it's called we call
- 21:22Speaker 1: it the Renee. But he does it too. We both
- 21:25Speaker 1: do it. Like we'll drive by something and we'll be like, oh,
- 21:29Speaker 1: you know that was that place where I went, you know,
- 21:32Speaker 1: blah blah blah. And he'll be like, I know Renee,
- 21:34Speaker 1: or telling me something about work, and I'll be like, Renee,
- 21:39Speaker 1: you told me earlier, Like so that is our It's
- 21:42Speaker 1: by Felicia, but hello Renee. Who reminds me of Teddy
- 21:48Speaker 1: those our daughters slate. She's literally ny we do anging
- 21:53Speaker 1: out with Teddy. Let me doing slate. It's uh same everything.
- 21:57Speaker 1: She likes the boss Daddy around too. We like, we
- 22:01Speaker 1: know what we want. Good thing though, you know, sometimes
- 22:04Speaker 1: you want to get Boston around, especially when when you're
- 22:09Speaker 1: doing the Boston around in the office. It's nice to
- 22:12Speaker 1: just get home and you don't have to worry about
- 22:14Speaker 1: anything because she's got everything taken care of. So I
- 22:17Speaker 1: literally once I come home it's just like Jeddy, She's
- 22:20Speaker 1: in charge. Okay, this is the last question that I'm
- 22:23Speaker 1: going to grow you with because I know you have
- 22:25Speaker 1: worked today. Um good. This is actually a listener question too.
- 22:29Speaker 1: So when did you know that you wanted to marry Teddy?
- 22:32Speaker 1: Was there like one moment that you're like, Yep, that's
- 22:35Speaker 1: my that's my girl. That that was a good, soft
- 22:38Speaker 1: off question. Yes, harder, Um yeah, I knew the minute
- 22:44Speaker 1: we were We actually have a picture of this, but
- 22:46Speaker 1: we were hanging out in our backyard and and I
- 22:49Speaker 1: think it was my daughter's first and it was her birthday,
- 22:52Speaker 1: her first year birthday, or maybe it was someone close
- 22:54Speaker 1: eight months and to cheat when she took her in
- 22:57Speaker 1: her arms, I mean, you could just see the love
- 22:59Speaker 1: that she had for and the mother like qualities that
- 23:04Speaker 1: she she had even though she was a mother yet.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I mean, you just you saw it like she is
- 23:10Speaker 1: going to be a great mother. And she has been
- 23:12Speaker 1: a great mother to mike daughter from the get go,
- 23:16Speaker 1: And that's when I knew that, Okay, this is specially
- 23:19Speaker 1: this is someone that I that I want to spend
- 23:22Speaker 1: the rest of my life with. You know, the crying,
- 23:26Speaker 1: I don't you know when I met Bella was when
- 23:30Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, this is the real deal for us, Like,
- 23:35Speaker 1: I can't imagine my life without both of you in it.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I love you guys so much. Yep, I remember that moment.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I remember that moment for sure. I remember, and you know,
- 23:48Speaker 1: I don't know if she told you this story, but
- 23:51Speaker 1: her friends always get mad at her because whenever they
- 23:54Speaker 1: come over, Teddy's very she takes care of me all
- 23:58Speaker 1: the time. So like I don't serve myself, she served.
- 24:02Speaker 1: He's kind of, you know, just really takes care of me.
- 24:05Speaker 1: And then all her friends that her husband's friends are like,
- 24:08Speaker 1: why would you take Well, we we took the Love
- 24:13Speaker 1: Languages quiz, and for a while I wasn't like that
- 24:17Speaker 1: and his his acts of service, which is actually not
- 24:21Speaker 1: something I really even because that's not mine, mine, our
- 24:25Speaker 1: words of affirmation. So once I learned that, I was like,
- 24:28Speaker 1: I'm going to step up my game because something as
- 24:30Speaker 1: simple as like I know he normally has his coffee
- 24:33Speaker 1: at this time, or like you know, he's he's never
- 24:36Speaker 1: going to be the first in line to like at
- 24:38Speaker 1: the buffet or whatever it may be, makes him so happy.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, two minutes of my time makes you
- 24:46Speaker 1: so happy. We're like, that's why I highly recommend do
- 24:49Speaker 1: the Love Languages quiz, because I thought mine was quality
- 24:53Speaker 1: time in my own brain, I thought, like, what I like,
- 24:56Speaker 1: what I need the most in a relationship is quality time.
- 24:59Speaker 1: But appair, I need words of affirmation, So Edwin feel
- 25:03Speaker 1: free to just let those pour out. And then another
- 25:10Speaker 1: one not saying I'm warming up now. Another thing that
- 25:13Speaker 1: comes to mind is before we we got married, Teddy
- 25:17Speaker 1: used to cook me up these meals, like, oh, you
- 25:21Speaker 1: cannot imagine what a good tut she was. So we
- 25:24Speaker 1: get married, and uh, the cooking kind of stopped for me. Well,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I have a secret to tell you, honey. I never
- 25:32Speaker 1: actually cooked for you. I would order and then played it.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I do remember the tuna when you left me once
- 25:42Speaker 1: you got married, she said, hey, what's up for tonight?
- 25:45Speaker 1: She left me a can of tuna with the opener thing.
- 25:47Speaker 1: She's like, you got tuna, But I do used to
- 25:52Speaker 1: make the effort to play ordered food. But then you know,
- 25:57Speaker 1: now she knows how to come. She's a good kid.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I love you, baby. Yeah, Well, can you hurry home
- 26:04Speaker 1: because your anniversary present is arriving today. Anniversary that's coming
- 26:09Speaker 1: up ones uh huh, yeah, can you. I'm trying to
- 26:19Speaker 1: tell her that you can do two for one presence, right, No,
- 26:24Speaker 1: if it's big enough. So hopefully it's big enough. No
- 26:30Speaker 1: for a fortieth birthday and a ten your wedding anniversary
- 26:36Speaker 1: on No. Plus the house that we originally rented for
- 26:40Speaker 1: the trip it burned down, so now it's still a
- 26:46Speaker 1: big house. But okay, I can't wait for the fourth
- 26:50Speaker 1: my love. I can't want to spend the birthday with
- 26:52Speaker 1: you tomorrow, all right, se I really love you guys together.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I think you guys are the cueist. I there's an
- 27:02Speaker 1: energy between the two of you guys that's so awesome. Well,
- 27:05Speaker 1: we're always like jocking each other a little bit, you know,
- 27:08Speaker 1: like we're all but that is like, I mean, in
- 27:11Speaker 1: lack of a better word, that's like what gets us off.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Like we like that like momentum, so when you're on
- 27:17Speaker 1: house when you were on Housewives, and even just now
- 27:20Speaker 1: when whenever you do press and things like that, Like
- 27:22Speaker 1: is he is he like behind the scenes? Is he
- 27:25Speaker 1: like staying there or like does he enjoy walking a
- 27:28Speaker 1: red carpet? He likes walking a red carpet, but interview
- 27:31Speaker 1: questions and stuff he doesn't like he's different than me.
- 27:34Speaker 1: And the fact that, like he does a lot of
- 27:36Speaker 1: motivational speaking for you know, companies hire him to come
- 27:40Speaker 1: in and do it. But he preps like he is
- 27:43Speaker 1: a prep type guy, like he'll have it written out,
- 27:45Speaker 1: he will memorize it, like he is on a point.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I can't do it that way, and yeah, like I'll
- 27:50Speaker 1: prep in the fact that, like I'll look over my questions,
- 27:53Speaker 1: but I never write them down. I never because then
- 27:56Speaker 1: I get too in my own head. So we're just
- 27:58Speaker 1: naturally different, like I have to answer from the hip
- 28:02Speaker 1: or else it doesn't feel natural to me. He likes to, like, no,
- 28:05Speaker 1: that's why I like theirs that one question you got
- 28:07Speaker 1: to He's like, you know, because he's like, I don't
- 28:11Speaker 1: I think she'd ask something like I did not have
- 28:13Speaker 1: an answer for this, He's like, and then he starts
- 28:16Speaker 1: grasping at straws, like so that's that's really where we're different.
- 28:19Speaker 1: But it's fun because we can kind of help each
- 28:22Speaker 1: other in the ways that we need to. But no, um,
- 28:26Speaker 1: the first season on Housewives, he came out like we
- 28:30Speaker 1: had some kind of dinner and he said something and
- 28:34Speaker 1: I remember being like, I honestly will remove your testicles.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I cannot believe you just but you have to like
- 28:43Speaker 1: kind of pretend that you're fine with it. Like I
- 28:45Speaker 1: was like, and I was like dreading the day that
- 28:51Speaker 1: I was going to have to watch back that dinner
- 28:54Speaker 1: where like I had laughed at something I never would
- 28:56Speaker 1: have normally, like like it was my season one. I
- 28:58Speaker 1: like I was just in my head about what he said,
- 29:00Speaker 1: overthought it, and then I was like, you know, trying
- 29:04Speaker 1: to think, like what am I going to do when
- 29:06Speaker 1: this comes out? Blah blah blah, And then they never
- 29:08Speaker 1: showed it, so I was like, either stress for nothing, Yeah,
- 29:13Speaker 1: all that stressed for nothing. But ever since then he
- 29:15Speaker 1: was like listen, like he was like trying to be
- 29:18Speaker 1: something he wasn't, which is why he like he was
- 29:20Speaker 1: trying to be like a bigger personality, and he has
- 29:24Speaker 1: a great personality on his own. So I'm like, I
- 29:26Speaker 1: don't know why you did that, Like, but that we
- 29:28Speaker 1: had one of those, uh we had car camps and
- 29:31Speaker 1: we didn't even realize they were car camps. So we're
- 29:33Speaker 1: like arguing on the way home too, because I was like,
- 29:35Speaker 1: why would you have said that, you know, like it
- 29:38Speaker 1: was both and I was like, then none of it
- 29:40Speaker 1: was used. I got that, you know, not good at it?
- 29:43Speaker 1: Season one good at it. Yeah, I think like if
- 29:49Speaker 1: and I'm just curious like now that you guys don't
- 29:51Speaker 1: have the cameras every day, Um, it's like that's something
- 29:55Speaker 1: that you would you know, entertained doing again because I
- 29:58Speaker 1: feel like I just even when I've heard from from
- 30:02Speaker 1: you and through other you know, people that have done
- 30:04Speaker 1: reality television, like it really does like put a like
- 30:08Speaker 1: a weird strain on a relationship, you know, like you
- 30:12Speaker 1: have to be out all the time or um, even
- 30:15Speaker 1: like when you are home there's a camera on you,
- 30:17Speaker 1: like you know, like for a solid six months, you're
- 30:20Speaker 1: not really just Teddy and Edwyn at home, like you know,
- 30:24Speaker 1: lounging on the couch and you know, doing things or whatever.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Like that's hard. I mean, I think I would definitely
- 30:31Speaker 1: consider it in the fact of if we could really
- 30:34Speaker 1: show our full life. I think I ultimately struggled and
- 30:39Speaker 1: what so many people relate to me about, Like why
- 30:42Speaker 1: you know my Instagram following has grown so much even
- 30:45Speaker 1: post housewives, is because people like seeing the relationship between
- 30:51Speaker 1: me and the kids and Edwin and our life, our
- 30:53Speaker 1: actual life, not fighting with other women. So I think
- 30:58Speaker 1: with eliminating the type of stress and really having the
- 31:02Speaker 1: focus be like the fun our family has the different
- 31:05Speaker 1: dynamics because every single one of our kids has a
- 31:07Speaker 1: completely different personality. I am super Type A and organized
- 31:11Speaker 1: and actually you know, diagnosed O C D. Edwin's totally
- 31:15Speaker 1: like who who you know, Like there's just you know,
- 31:19Speaker 1: he never he'll be like, oh yeah, what when we're leaving,
- 31:23Speaker 1: When I'm like in seven minutes and you haven't packed
- 31:25Speaker 1: for the airport, you know, like we are just pulling.
- 31:28Speaker 1: So I wish if we could show that true, you know,
- 31:31Speaker 1: that the love and the messiness of our life, I
- 31:36Speaker 1: would totally be down. Yeah, no, totally even that. Like
- 31:39Speaker 1: one episode, I remember when um you had to all
- 31:42Speaker 1: in retreat and it was literally all about Derret's outfit
- 31:46Speaker 1: and like a photo shoot. I'm like, there was so
- 31:49Speaker 1: much other cool things happening that they just didn't come
- 31:52Speaker 1: from I mean and get it, but still, and there
- 31:55Speaker 1: was a whole part in there where you know, I
- 31:57Speaker 1: was bummed that wasn't in where I pretty much said
- 32:00Speaker 1: tore the reason that I am the way that I am.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Like I I had a really hard time and I've
- 32:08Speaker 1: worked on it, and um, I had a really hard
- 32:11Speaker 1: time asking people to show up for me all growing up,
- 32:15Speaker 1: and so because of that, I really became super independent
- 32:22Speaker 1: and super afraid that if I did ask people to
- 32:24Speaker 1: show up for me, something bad would happen. So my
- 32:27Speaker 1: entire life growing up and traveling, riding horses and doing
- 32:31Speaker 1: all that, like, I didn't even ask my parents to come,
- 32:33Speaker 1: like I was like, now, I'd rather just do this
- 32:35Speaker 1: on my own, you know, Like I think because of
- 32:37Speaker 1: the divorce and all the things that went down with us,
- 32:40Speaker 1: like I just I never did and then it kind
- 32:43Speaker 1: of carried over into my adult life. And that's why,
- 32:47Speaker 1: you know, I'm trying to be better about it. But
- 32:49Speaker 1: that's why I always give an invite with an out,
- 32:52Speaker 1: you know, because I am a have a people pleasing personality,
- 32:56Speaker 1: not in the standard way like where I'm gonna say
- 32:58Speaker 1: yes to any dinner place, but in the way that like,
- 33:01Speaker 1: if somebody's doing something that I've invited them to do,
- 33:04Speaker 1: I want them to be happy. And I can't have
- 33:06Speaker 1: a hard time being happy if they're not. Even though
- 33:08Speaker 1: you can't control others. So I shared this whole thing,
- 33:12Speaker 1: broke down in tears, like but no, it was about
- 33:16Speaker 1: the outfit and that's super understandable. That's super understandable too,
- 33:20Speaker 1: Like just like I feel like I can relate to
- 33:22Speaker 1: you on that too, like having people show up for
- 33:25Speaker 1: you but you're but you want to say it's okay
- 33:28Speaker 1: if you don't want to come, like no pressure. And
- 33:31Speaker 1: I think especially when it comes to like being vulnerable,
- 33:34Speaker 1: you know, I I was, you know, part of the
- 33:38Speaker 1: retreat was requiring all of these you know, clients and
- 33:41Speaker 1: people that signed up to be vulnerable. And I knew
- 33:44Speaker 1: that if certain you know, housewives came in and they
- 33:47Speaker 1: weren't able to do so, it was going to change
- 33:49Speaker 1: the dynamic of the event. So I was like, listen,
- 33:52Speaker 1: if you're you know, coming in and you're going to
- 33:55Speaker 1: change the dynamic because you don't like working out or
- 33:57Speaker 1: you don't want to be here, I really I don't.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I'd rather you not be you know what I mean?
- 34:02Speaker 1: Because my biggest priority was to them. And actually when
- 34:05Speaker 1: we did our final thing at the retreat that said,
- 34:09Speaker 1: like what was the highs and the lows? And of
- 34:13Speaker 1: the people's lows were that none of Teddy's friends shared
- 34:17Speaker 1: at the dinner, And there was a dinner where we
- 34:18Speaker 1: all stood up and shared these really heartfelt moment like
- 34:22Speaker 1: where we just like poured our heart out, and like,
- 34:24Speaker 1: you know, there's forty women they're doing the same and
- 34:27Speaker 1: then you know my Housewives table they didn't, and so
- 34:31Speaker 1: like it changes the dynamics. So I, you know, I
- 34:35Speaker 1: think in hindsight, I could have done it differently, maybe,
- 34:39Speaker 1: you know, But I'm trying not to beat myself up
- 34:43Speaker 1: after the fact about things. But that's that's really what
- 34:45Speaker 1: it's about. It's always been about wanting to make sure
- 34:49Speaker 1: that people are doing things that they enjoy. Well, you know,
- 34:53Speaker 1: keeping over with the Kardashians is finishing their twentieth season,
- 34:56Speaker 1: so maybe it's um, what's an m thing with the
- 35:00Speaker 1: Melancamp I guess it's ariavi is right. Yeah, we're Melancamp
- 35:04Speaker 1: Barriaves the kids and yeah, because and people always like,
- 35:10Speaker 1: why do you keep the name Melancamp? Did you just
- 35:12Speaker 1: hear my dad? There's absolutely no way he would have
- 35:14Speaker 1: let us drop that name, and why would you? I'm
- 35:18Speaker 1: married too, and I keep my maiden name because it's dope,
- 35:21Speaker 1: you know, Like I like I like my name. I
- 35:23Speaker 1: just added my married name after Yeah, that's the same
- 35:26Speaker 1: as me. I'm like, well, plus he's got you know,
- 35:28Speaker 1: like he's prideful about it. He's like where the melancop No,
- 35:31Speaker 1: the your kids medan name is Melancamp. That's us. And
- 35:35Speaker 1: it's because like, you know, you know where we grew up,
- 35:39Speaker 1: all of our you know family. That is just important
- 35:42Speaker 1: to him and that's important to us. We'll think of
- 35:44Speaker 1: a good reality TV show title and we'll get back
- 35:47Speaker 1: to you because I think that's a really really good idea.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I think it would love to see you guys. You know,
- 35:53Speaker 1: I heart could produce it. Let's do it, all right,
- 35:57Speaker 1: Let's go to a quick break and then um, we'll
- 35:59Speaker 1: come up with our final caller after the break. All right,
- 36:11Speaker 1: our next and final caller is someone you probably don't
- 36:16Speaker 1: know actually, so we're gonna kind of switch it up
- 36:19Speaker 1: a little bit. Um, but let's talk about what, like
- 36:23Speaker 1: what TV shows you're watching right now? What are you
- 36:25Speaker 1: guys obsessed with? What are you watching at home? And
- 36:28Speaker 1: then maybe you can kind of narrow it in on
- 36:30Speaker 1: who your surprise guest is what. Okay, so is it
- 36:34Speaker 1: a male or female? It's a boy. It's a boy male.
- 36:40Speaker 1: He's not a boy. He's not a boy. Uh. Um,
- 36:45Speaker 1: I was like, I mean this year we watched Mayor
- 36:48Speaker 1: of Easttown, we watched the Undoing, we watch what else
- 36:56Speaker 1: do we watch? Um? I mean I love reality any television.
- 37:00Speaker 1: So someone from that a male I've never met? Um,
- 37:10Speaker 1: there's one show you're you're really binging right now? Think
- 37:14Speaker 1: about it. Gilmore Girls was Slate? Yeah, who could it
- 37:20Speaker 1: be from Gilmore Girls? Is he around my age? Or
- 37:24Speaker 1: is he he's older? Um? If this is really someone
- 37:29Speaker 1: from Gilmore Girls, Uh, Slate, it's going to freak out
- 37:35Speaker 1: that she isn't here? Is she with you? Or no? No,
- 37:39Speaker 1: she's at camp darnet. Just I need to know. Is
- 37:44Speaker 1: it Luke? High possibility it's Luke? Is Slay going to
- 37:51Speaker 1: be so bummed that she s here? Is gonna be
- 37:54Speaker 1: so bummed. We're gonna need to video this. I If
- 37:59Speaker 1: this is Luke, I can't all right, Well well let's
- 38:03Speaker 1: bring him in from the waiting room right now. Luke?
- 38:09Speaker 1: Is that you hi? Have your birthday? Thank you so much?
- 38:19Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm all repped. How are you doing?
- 38:23Speaker 1: I'm doing great? You have no idea your show has
- 38:28Speaker 1: changed the course of the year for my daughter's slate.
- 38:32Speaker 1: And the reason I started watching so late is because
- 38:37Speaker 1: my um daughter amputated her finger last year and so
- 38:42Speaker 1: she was on like, you know, recovery because it was
- 38:44Speaker 1: an open cast situation, so there was a long time
