It’s Monday and Lauretta’s guest, Father Charles Ruby from the Archdiocese of Chicago is here to talk about the effects of suicide from a Catholic perspective. Father Ruby goes over his beginnings as a Priest, his work with young people while teaching at a Catholic high school, and his later work with families grieving over the suicide of someone they love. Father explains that current Church teaching does not automatically damn the person who commits suicide to hell but realizes that many suicides are a result of succumbing to a mental illness.
