- 0:00Speaker 1: We got a honka honkah show business for you. Stay tuned.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's one more thing. I'm strong Andy.
- 0:06Speaker 2: One more thing.
- 0:10Speaker 1: First. This we mentioned on the show. There's a new
- 0:12Speaker 1: Elvis movie out. Elvis movie is like man, that was
- 0:16Speaker 1: a slur back in the day, because Elvis movies are
- 0:20Speaker 1: so sucky, all of them.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not like there's a new Blue Hawaii sequel
- 0:24Speaker 2: that's come out.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Oh, there's a new movie documentary about Elvis. It's called
- 0:28Speaker 1: Epic Elvis Presley in concert footage that's never It just
- 0:32Speaker 1: got discovered, has never been seen before. Here's a little
- 0:34Speaker 1: clip of it.
- 0:35Speaker 3: There's been a lot written, unless said the never my
- 0:38Speaker 3: side of the story.
- 1:01Speaker 1: So it's from nineteen seventy. It's back when he used
- 1:04Speaker 1: to play at the Hilton every single night, and it's
- 1:07Speaker 1: just a bunch of sixty hours of concert footage that
- 1:09Speaker 1: they done. Also stuff from the practices and the rehearsals
- 1:12Speaker 1: and everything like that getting ready for it. And it
- 1:13Speaker 1: looks pretty cool. So it's like pre fat, super drugged
- 1:18Speaker 1: up Elvis. He's still drugged up, I think, but thin
- 1:21Speaker 1: good looking could still sing and add his wits about him.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Kind of the last gasp of his greatness.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, so.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I look special from nineteen sixty nine? Was it sixty
- 1:33Speaker 2: eight sixty nine?
- 1:34Speaker 1: Man?
- 1:34Speaker 2: Oh, I wish I was a tenth that cool on
- 1:37Speaker 2: the coolest day of my life.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And that's when I saw him in person as a
- 1:40Speaker 1: little kid living in Memphis at Graceland. But I've told
- 1:43Speaker 1: that story a million times, so I won't do it again.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Of course, I know better than to strain at stool too.
- 1:47Speaker 2: You can't do that as an older fellow. He's got
- 1:50Speaker 2: to eat your prunes and let it happen.
- 1:52Speaker 1: My favorite Elvis story. And I wasn't gonna get off
- 1:54Speaker 1: at Elvis stories. But I was telling him Sam about
- 1:56Speaker 1: this just all right. I told Henry about this the
- 1:58Speaker 1: other day. Read the girlic books about Elvis. Last Train
- 2:02Speaker 1: of Memphis Won the Pull Serprise, great book, great book,
- 2:05Speaker 1: and then the next one about the down years, which
- 2:08Speaker 1: is more funny than inspiring. But anyway, story about what
- 2:13Speaker 1: he was at his drugged up, fattest. So I saw
- 2:16Speaker 1: him at Graceland as a little kid. He was out
- 2:19Speaker 1: riding his horse and we pulled up the Graceland because
- 2:21Speaker 1: we just lived a couple of blocks away, and they
- 2:22Speaker 1: opened up the gates and he rode up on his
- 2:24Speaker 1: horse and talked to some of us, and there was
- 2:25Speaker 1: like five or six of us standing around me and
- 2:27Speaker 1: my dad and brother and some other people talking Elvis,
- 2:30Speaker 1: and he was in this coolat fringy jacket and everything
- 2:32Speaker 1: like that right around the very roo we're talking, yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 1: sixty nine. So anyway, that was very very cool. But
- 2:39Speaker 1: when he got fat and everything, and he would ride
- 2:41Speaker 1: his horse around Graceland, he was a fat guine horse.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And he had a bag of hot dog buns that
- 2:48Speaker 1: he would tie around the horn of his saddle and
- 2:50Speaker 1: then he'd just have his hot dog buns with them
- 2:52Speaker 1: all the time, and he just eat hot dog dog.
- 2:57Speaker 1: What you're telling me that guy died straining at stool,
- 3:03Speaker 1: I don't get it. That's a funny story. Two other
- 3:09Speaker 1: celebrity note, it's not important. Our three other Brady Bunch
- 3:12Speaker 1: House has become a protected historic landmark in Los Angeles.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I remember it's been consold a bunch of different times,
- 3:17Speaker 1: but now it's a historic landmark, So there you go.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I just saw this review of The Bride. Have you
- 3:23Speaker 1: seen any the ends for the movie The Bride? It's
- 3:26Speaker 1: a modern, latest version of Frankenstein. Oh, the review I
- 3:31Speaker 1: want to buy, one of your serious movie reviewers, is
- 3:34Speaker 1: it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen doing
- 3:36Speaker 1: this job. Okay, only seconds into the movie I regretted
- 3:41Speaker 1: leaving my porch and pitchfork at home, my torch and
- 3:44Speaker 1: pitchfork at home. But I thought it was just awful,
- 3:47Speaker 1: like beyond awful. I can't even believe it was made awful.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And then this final celebrity note. So, Christina Applegate's getting
- 3:55Speaker 1: lots of interviews right now. She's dying of MS. It's
- 3:58Speaker 1: quite a story. It's quite She's got a memoir out too.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Let me just read a little bit from her memoir.
- 4:03Speaker 1: She's been through so much.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I know.
- 4:06Speaker 1: She also lived. She was a child star, super hotty,
- 4:09Speaker 1: everything like that. This is from her memoir. In her
- 4:12Speaker 1: new memoir, Christina Applegate divulged that she once left Brad
- 4:15Speaker 1: Pitt for Sebastian Bach mid date at the nineteen eighty
- 4:19Speaker 1: nine Video Music Awards. Sebastian Bach was what was he
- 4:24Speaker 1: the one of your hair band drummer or something like that,
- 4:28Speaker 1: skid rowsing. I had spent all night staring at Bach.
- 4:32Speaker 1: This is at the Video Music Awards in nineteen eighty nine.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I hate to put it like this, but Brad back
- 4:38Speaker 1: then was still making his way in an actor and
- 4:39Speaker 1: he wasn't yet the Brad Pitt, the man of so
- 4:42Speaker 1: many dreams. She's at the Video Music Awards with Brad
- 4:45Speaker 1: Pitt as her date in nineteen eighty nine, but she's
- 4:48Speaker 1: staring at hair band Sebastian Bach, and it gets worse.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Brad was left, So I just left. I went over
- 4:56Speaker 1: to be with him after the show was over to
- 4:58Speaker 1: during the party, Brad was left to sullenly drive my
- 5:01Speaker 1: mom home. Oh then, apparently at a gas station on
- 5:06Speaker 1: the way, Brad almost got into a fight with a
- 5:08Speaker 1: bunch of gang members and not surprisingly, was subsequently very
- 5:11Speaker 1: mad at me for many years. Applegate said she regretted
- 5:14Speaker 1: the decision as soon as she found out that Bach
- 5:17Speaker 1: had a longtime partner in a one year old child.
- 5:19Speaker 1: She also said Pitt didn't talk to her for many,
- 5:21Speaker 1: many years. She leaves Brad Pitt at the awards show
- 5:26Speaker 1: for a hairband singer who's who's got a girlfriend and
- 5:30Speaker 1: a little kid. Brad Pitt has to drive her mom home,
- 5:35Speaker 1: which just makes him a pretty decent guy. Actually that
- 5:38Speaker 1: even though his girlfriend left him for someone else. You know,
- 5:40Speaker 1: I'll drive your mom home. I'm not going to leave
- 5:41Speaker 1: her here.
- 5:42Speaker 2: And I've seen that Sebastian Bach interview for something Else
- 5:45Speaker 2: and struck me as a real half wit. So well done, Christina.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Nice move.
- 5:50Speaker 1: There you go. There's our celebrity update of the day.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and unfortunately I need a jet. This is going
- 5:55Speaker 2: to be a short podcast today because I got a jet.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Off to the doctor. So Joe has left the building.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Tang it all together.
- 6:02Speaker 1: There you go.
- 6:04Speaker 3: How many of you people saw the movie Blue Hawaii.
- 6:09Speaker 1: And then we all said this other clip that we
- 6:10Speaker 1: could get to.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I will pull your goddamn tongue out of the road.
- 6:14Speaker 1: That's when he was That's when he was struggling. Yeah, well,
- 6:18Speaker 1: I guess that's it.
