- 0:46Speaker 2: Hello, ladies and gentlemen. This is Caraley with Let's Talk,
- 0:49Speaker 2: And today is going to be I just want to
- 0:54Speaker 2: let this. I can't even hold it in. Today is
- 0:57Speaker 2: gonna be one of those shows that is going to
- 1:00Speaker 2: be probably all over the place and probably might even
- 1:06Speaker 2: touch a few nerves. Yeah, it depends on if Julie,
- 1:12Speaker 2: depends on where your loyalty lies, whether it's a WU situation,
- 1:17Speaker 2: whether it's a Marshall situation. But let me just give
- 1:20Speaker 2: let me make sure I let everybody know who's all here.
- 1:22Speaker 2: So Hollis Lewis is here, what's going on? And Lisa Odie,
- 1:25Speaker 2: the Football Queen is here.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Hello.
- 1:27Speaker 2: All right, and we are sponsored by Frank Walker. Real Talk,
- 1:31Speaker 2: Real Experience, Real Results. You can visit Frank Walker at
- 1:34Speaker 2: Frank Walker law dot com for more information. All right, Marshall, Yeah,
- 1:43Speaker 2: huge win, right, a huge, huge win.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Hollis heck can wear the crowd badge of staying up.
- 1:50Speaker 2: And but the thing is, it was such a great win.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I mean, you know, they were down seventeen to nothing
- 1:58Speaker 2: at half and they start the way back up, so
- 2:01Speaker 2: they go, you know, it's back and forth. They tied up,
- 2:04Speaker 2: and I think it's like in double or maybe triple
- 2:06Speaker 2: overtime and then instead of just like you know, they
- 2:09Speaker 2: go for two win the game. And it's just it
- 2:12Speaker 2: was really a phenomenal game. It's a phenomenal coaching job too,
- 2:15Speaker 2: to keep them boys just together. Well, okay, so that
- 2:19Speaker 2: was that was where I was going to go because
- 2:21Speaker 2: one of the things that I have over coach Huff's tenure,
- 2:28Speaker 2: I think he is that guy who just watching him
- 2:32Speaker 2: interact with players interact with coaches, he seems to be
- 2:36Speaker 2: that kind of jolly, positive kind of coach who makes
- 2:42Speaker 2: you feel like we can do anything. And I think
- 2:46Speaker 2: that rubs off Lisa, on on the players, on the coaches,
- 2:50Speaker 2: And I even think he's got the I think he's
- 2:53Speaker 2: got the fan base, which I would have said earlier
- 2:55Speaker 2: in the season that he didn't know. Man, our fan
- 2:58Speaker 2: base is fickle. Well, that's true, but I was going,
- 3:03Speaker 2: I'm thinking that they're they're a little bit more excited
- 3:07Speaker 2: about him now, you know. I think when the conversation
- 3:11Speaker 2: was talking about him leaving, you know, the possibility of
- 3:14Speaker 2: him leaving, I would make the case that a lot
- 3:19Speaker 2: of fans were like, hey, you know, we we we
- 3:22Speaker 2: weren't excited about you anyway. We were ready to let
- 3:24Speaker 2: you go anyway. But all of a sudden, how many
- 3:29Speaker 2: games in a row do you win? I mean, and
- 3:32Speaker 2: and and all of a sudden that changes that dynamic
- 3:36Speaker 2: of do we really want to get rid of him?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Because there's no way. But it's not about gettingrid.
- 3:42Speaker 5: No, no, now, it's about keeping him, I think.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And isn't that interesting that Yeah, now people are saying, oh,
- 3:52Speaker 2: he shouldn't go, you know, don't leave. But but did
- 3:55Speaker 2: you did you want me to go?
- 3:57Speaker 5: You know, going back to what you said abouts and
- 4:01Speaker 5: how fickle they can be at times. If you look
- 4:03Speaker 5: at the resume that that huff is established in at
- 4:07Speaker 5: Marshall and Huntington in general, you know he's making history.
- 4:11Speaker 5: I mean you look over the accumulation of what three
- 4:13Speaker 5: years the guy beat Notre Dame at Notre Dame. Okay,
- 4:17Speaker 5: that's on the resume, and just the other night that
- 4:21Speaker 5: this is I don't know if people realize this, but
- 4:22Speaker 5: this is the first berth in the Sun Belt Championship
- 4:25Speaker 5: that Marshall's earned.
- 4:26Speaker 4: So there's another piece of history.
- 4:28Speaker 5: So if you start adding up all of the different
- 4:31Speaker 5: little victories, it makes it makes a big, big impact.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I didn't even think about that because you do have
- 4:36Speaker 2: to he beat Notre Dame Virginia that Sun Belt East champs, right,
- 4:44Speaker 2: and now you're in the championship first time, first time,
- 4:46Speaker 2: and you'll go to a big Bowl game. So it's like, now,
- 4:49Speaker 2: I mean, what can you say? What is your You
- 4:53Speaker 2: can't say negative? And you pick with sixteen players in
- 4:57Speaker 2: the NFL.
- 4:59Speaker 4: That's on the resume.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, so should should the reality be coach, we
- 5:06Speaker 2: want you to stay. I don't think we're past that
- 5:09Speaker 2: because I don't to your point, you said it last time.
- 5:12Speaker 2: We were here, Lisa, I can afford to keep him. Now, Wow,
- 5:15Speaker 2: that's the thing now, because he's I mean again, if
- 5:17Speaker 2: you put that resume, just what we said, I'm sure
- 5:20Speaker 2: we're missing a bunch of stuff as far as whether
- 5:22Speaker 2: other coaches have gone and everything like that. So if
- 5:25Speaker 2: you put that resume out there, you gotta get. You
- 5:27Speaker 2: gotta The guy's going to the next job, and he's
- 5:29Speaker 2: going to a big job, and he's going to get
- 5:30Speaker 2: a big, big check. So so you you think he's
- 5:33Speaker 2: gone and you have to be. I mean, how how
- 5:37Speaker 2: could you not? I mean, unless you love it your lifer,
- 5:39Speaker 2: that's different. But if you're looking to move up to
- 5:41Speaker 2: the ranks, I mean, listen, to keep your mind. He
- 5:44Speaker 2: came from Alabama, so are you looking to get back
- 5:47Speaker 2: to an Alabama? If you're looking to get back there,
- 5:49Speaker 2: then you gotta go.
- 5:49Speaker 4: I think I think Huntington won't put up a fight.
- 5:52Speaker 4: I think that they realize.
- 5:53Speaker 5: I think I think Southern mess has already probably put
- 5:55Speaker 5: an offer on the table. I think that's established. I mean,
- 5:57Speaker 5: where there's smoke, there's there's fire. So I feel like
- 6:01Speaker 5: that's already there in the works. And so now I
- 6:03Speaker 5: feel like that Marshall's in that mode where they're trying
- 6:05Speaker 5: to find a way financially and in a contract, a
- 6:08Speaker 5: way to keep him in Huntington now. And I don't
- 6:11Speaker 5: know which way that pendulum is going to swing, but
- 6:14Speaker 5: I do feel like they realize what they have and
- 6:16Speaker 5: they're going to fight to keep it.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Hallis. I know you have a list of names of
- 6:20Speaker 2: people who I guess names have been thrown out. There's
- 6:24Speaker 2: Wvu Notari. Okay, well, I know one name as far
- 6:27Speaker 2: as the Huntington I think Tony Gibson is what they're
- 6:30Speaker 2: talking about from n C State. Yes, he's a Westerndia kid,
- 6:33Speaker 2: Westerndon guy from Van He's coaching at n C State,
- 6:36Speaker 2: So I know his name has been thrown out there
- 6:37Speaker 2: for Huntington. Okay, So here's here. Yeah, here's I confuse
- 6:42Speaker 2: you on that one. But here's what. Here's what's interesting
- 6:45Speaker 2: to me. I think when you when you start to
- 6:51Speaker 2: look at Huff coach Huff, and you look at the
- 6:54Speaker 2: fan base and you try to ask what does the
- 6:57Speaker 2: fan base want that he hasn't done? And then for him,
- 7:02Speaker 2: are you upset or could you have in your gut
- 7:05Speaker 2: kind of like well, they were trying. They were talking
- 7:07Speaker 2: all this negative when when you know, Okay.
- 7:13Speaker 4: So you're gonna have games where where the fans are
- 7:16Speaker 4: going to turn on you.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I don't care who you are, and I'm gonna make it.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna make the case that Marshall Marshall is is
- 7:22Speaker 2: probably one of the greatest fan bases out there just
- 7:26Speaker 2: with the inclusion of its history. Okay, but it can
- 7:31Speaker 2: be fickle, It can be very fickle. And I'm going
- 7:35Speaker 2: to make the case that coach Huff at this point
- 7:42Speaker 2: becomes one of Marshall's greatest coaches in football. Yeah, he
- 7:47Speaker 2: definitely had a great run, you know what I'm saying.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I mean, Marshall is a great job. I think it's
- 7:54Speaker 2: a very underrated job. I think how you're able to
- 7:57Speaker 2: recruit because of where Huntington is. You're in this ri
- 8:00Speaker 2: state area of Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, You're close to Virginia, Maryland,
- 8:04Speaker 2: d C. Pennsylvania, and it's just something special about that place.
- 8:09Speaker 2: And if you can do it right, you can get
- 8:11Speaker 2: some major and big Wednesday. I think too, who the
- 8:17Speaker 2: recruiter is, who the head coach is. I think is
- 8:22Speaker 2: the guy who's going to impress you more so than
- 8:25Speaker 2: let's just say Marshall's history, because you know, I can
- 8:30Speaker 2: I can go back when when I was at Marshall.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Playing at Marshall, you would have guys come in and
- 8:37Speaker 2: you know, we didn't have all that they have now
- 8:40Speaker 2: and we weren't winning, so there was nothing. There was
- 8:44Speaker 2: nothing really to draw you in. But now Marshall has
- 8:49Speaker 2: everything and the and the thing that they that they
- 8:52Speaker 2: have to have is they have to have that personality
- 8:55Speaker 2: as the head coach to represent it at Bob Pruitt
- 8:58Speaker 2: was that and for sure tough is that? Yeah? Holiday
- 9:01Speaker 2: was that too, I think as well, Like like I said,
- 9:04Speaker 2: I think it's a great job, and I think, you know,
- 9:06Speaker 2: I think he's done an excellent job there and unfortunately
- 9:10Speaker 2: it's just probably if he has bigger aspirations right right,
- 9:15Speaker 2: and it's fine, and I think we just got to
- 9:17Speaker 2: find the next guy.
- 9:18Speaker 5: Yeah, but I also think whoever, I mean, hopefully it
- 9:21Speaker 5: will have will stay. But if not the next guy,
- 9:24Speaker 5: I think they've got a lot to offer recruiting, not
- 9:26Speaker 5: only what you said about facilities and the upgrades and
- 9:29Speaker 5: what we you know, have as far as athletics, but
- 9:32Speaker 5: also being a part of the Sun Belt Conference. I
- 9:34Speaker 5: mean when they were in Conference USA, I mean that
- 9:36Speaker 5: was kind of spread out and it wasn't as attractive
- 9:39Speaker 5: of a conference to offer recruits as the sun Belt
- 9:42Speaker 5: is because you've got local teams you can travel to,
- 9:45Speaker 5: those fans can follow.
- 9:48Speaker 4: It's just it's a.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Better fit for for Marshall than what what Doc Holliday
- 9:53Speaker 5: had to deal with in Conference USA, in my opinion.
- 9:55Speaker 2: And it's and you also created an advantage because if
- 9:57Speaker 2: you're in a sun Belt you have a lot of
- 9:59Speaker 2: those Southern other than teams, and then you gotta come
- 10:01Speaker 2: up to Huntington in November and late October, so you
- 10:04Speaker 2: do have a little advantage there for them, you know
- 10:06Speaker 2: them later season games. And I just I and I'm
- 10:09Speaker 2: really impressed just the way in which like Hub did
- 10:12Speaker 2: and I talked about this last time, scheduling those w
- 10:14Speaker 2: excuse me, those Notre Dames, those Ohio's the Virginia Tech
- 10:19Speaker 2: scheduling those games. I think it's big for the program.
- 10:21Speaker 2: It's gonna bring money into the program, it's gonna let
- 10:23Speaker 2: you compete at a national level, get nationally televised games.
- 10:27Speaker 2: So I really think the manner in which he sort
- 10:29Speaker 2: of molded and guided the program. Hopefully the next coach
- 10:33Speaker 2: or if there is going to be a next coach,
- 10:35Speaker 2: can kind of leach onto that and continue well and
- 10:38Speaker 2: to those games. I know that when I was at
- 10:43Speaker 2: Marshall Sunny, Randall took us to like Mississippi State and
- 10:47Speaker 2: they had just beat like Alabama, and we were still
- 10:50Speaker 2: winning two one, two, three games a season. But it
- 10:54Speaker 2: was a it was a it was a total different
- 10:56Speaker 2: experience for everybody, for every single player that was on
- 11:01Speaker 2: the field, from the crowd, from the talent that you
- 11:07Speaker 2: that you're going against. And now Marshall fits into that
- 11:11Speaker 2: profile now, like and think about what he did as
- 11:15Speaker 2: far as like WVU is not playing those sort of
- 11:18Speaker 2: teams now right, they don't play those teams. Hit on that.
- 11:21Speaker 2: So I even think strategically being in West Virginia, realizing
- 11:25Speaker 2: that that your premier program, your premier school, doesn't played Ohio,
- 11:28Speaker 2: they don't play not to day, they don't play Virginia
- 11:30Speaker 2: Tech anymore as much as they used to, and now
- 11:32Speaker 2: you're playing them stategically, it was a good move as well.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I didn't think about that, but yeah, that's a good
- 11:38Speaker 2: point though.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Yeah, And to add to his resume.
- 11:41Speaker 5: You know, previously we were talking about the game the
- 11:43Speaker 5: other night with the overtimes beating JMU. You know something
- 11:46Speaker 5: else he can add to that resume that we're talking
- 11:49Speaker 5: about is that that's one of the biggest deficits. I
- 11:52Speaker 5: think it was like listed as the fifth largest deficit
- 11:55Speaker 5: in the program's history to come. So you know that
- 11:57Speaker 5: that was no small task. I mean I went to
- 12:00Speaker 5: bed at halftime and they were getting dominated on both
- 12:02Speaker 5: sides of the ball, and I think even we were
- 12:05Speaker 5: texting each other and said, I was like, they look horrible,
- 12:07Speaker 5: and I looked at my husband, and you know, I'm
- 12:09Speaker 5: an old lady.
- 12:10Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm going over this.
- 12:11Speaker 5: And then the next day I wake up and I
- 12:13Speaker 5: was like, that is an amazing feat. I mean I
- 12:15Speaker 5: had flashbacks of remember the Miracle Immobile whenever whenever barbron left,
- 12:20Speaker 5: which pulled that that that comeback. So I had kind
- 12:24Speaker 5: of that image and that was that was the days
- 12:26Speaker 5: of greatness for Marshall. So we're kind of equating huff
- 12:30Speaker 5: with you know, coming back to bringing Marshall back to greatness.
- 12:33Speaker 5: I mean in a different, you know scenario, because we've
- 12:36Speaker 5: got in Il and the transfer portal.
- 12:39Speaker 4: So it's I and.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I'll make the case that he that that Marshall is
- 12:43Speaker 2: not even hop nowhere even close to the top in
- 12:46Speaker 2: io money, oh you know, and and so still being
- 12:51Speaker 2: able to win games like that with the players who
- 12:58Speaker 2: are not giving up the trust they trust in him.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Can you imagine him at halftime and you're and you're losing.
- 13:05Speaker 2: That's what I want to hear. I would Yeah, I
- 13:07Speaker 2: would like to see the halftime speech because it's telling
- 13:10Speaker 2: me it's gonna make me come out of that lot
- 13:12Speaker 2: positive thinking, Oh that we all we gotta do is this,
- 13:15Speaker 2: this and this and then we were on top of
- 13:17Speaker 2: this we can win this game or to do Yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 2: definitely definitely. So I mean, you know, so this ain't
- 13:23Speaker 2: the only big coaching change we've got. This, This ain't.
- 13:26Speaker 2: This ain't it's well, let's let's let's go there. Let's
- 13:32Speaker 2: go there. So Neil Brown, Yeah, what what do we
- 13:38Speaker 2: do we even ask the question where is his future?
- 13:43Speaker 2: Or do we just say, you know, I think we're
- 13:46Speaker 2: asking where our future is that's the question that we've
- 13:50Speaker 2: been asking.
- 13:50Speaker 4: He took a nice check with him.
- 13:52Speaker 2: So he'll be okay, Yeah, he'll be okay, and it's.
- 13:58Speaker 5: Very gracious in his pressers, and wouldn't you be with
- 14:02Speaker 5: that amount of money in your possible.
- 14:04Speaker 2: But see, I just think that he's I think that's
- 14:07Speaker 2: who he is. I just I've always kind of liked
- 14:10Speaker 2: him just every time I see an interview, there's something
- 14:16Speaker 2: about him that that that I like, and and so
- 14:21Speaker 2: you know him leaving. The interesting component to me is
- 14:25Speaker 2: is like, Okay, is this a coaching issue or is
- 14:31Speaker 2: this a player issue. I don't think it's either. I
- 14:35Speaker 2: think it's a coaching issue to a degree, because, like
- 14:37Speaker 2: I said, you gotta be a dynamic recruiter. But I think,
- 14:40Speaker 2: unlike what you said Lisa about Marshall and being in
- 14:43Speaker 2: a Sun Belt conference, how that's attractive. It's a good fit.
- 14:47Speaker 2: It's just the WVU being in the Big twelve is
- 14:50Speaker 2: a horrible fit. And like I said, I looked it
- 14:53Speaker 2: up on the last five Big Tail Big Twelve championships.
- 14:58Speaker 2: The majority of their roster is comprised of Texas football players.
- 15:03Speaker 2: You're talking about probably seventy eighty percent of the roster,
- 15:08Speaker 2: So I say it's about sixty to eighty percent of
- 15:10Speaker 2: the roster is comprised of Texas football players. So you
- 15:13Speaker 2: got Oklahoma nineteen, Oklahoma twenty, Baylor in twenty one, k
- 15:17Speaker 2: State in twenty two, and Texas in twenty three. So
- 15:20Speaker 2: their roster are comprised of Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, and California. Currently,
- 15:27Speaker 2: West Virginia has one Texas football player on their roster.
- 15:31Speaker 2: So to me, unless you're gonna win recruiting battles in
- 15:35Speaker 2: those four key state but you can't. But you're not
- 15:38Speaker 2: at WVU. This is this is who WVU is in
- 15:42Speaker 2: the Big twelve. And to me, unless you get out,
- 15:45Speaker 2: like I said, you have to get a dynamic personality,
- 15:47Speaker 2: a dynamic recruiter to come here and switch it up
- 15:51Speaker 2: because you're just not gonna win that battle.
- 15:54Speaker 4: So they need a name.
- 15:55Speaker 2: They need they need a name one hundred percent. You're
- 15:59Speaker 2: talking when when you when you start talking about the
- 16:02Speaker 2: head coach, that's got to be a name. It's gotta be,
- 16:05Speaker 2: it's gotta be. Okay, his point here, the names that
- 16:08Speaker 2: they're they're tossing around, this is all speculation. But obviously
- 16:12Speaker 2: Rich Rodriguez, he's current coach to Jacksonville State. Uh, they're
- 16:15Speaker 2: talking about a Jamie U Chadwell out of Liberty. They're
- 16:20Speaker 2: talking about obviously Jimbo Fisher, West Virginia guy they're talking about, uh,
- 16:26Speaker 2: the the coach Barry Odman out of U n l V.
- 16:29Speaker 2: He's done a good turn around there. They also mentioned
- 16:31Speaker 2: coach Huff, which I don't maybe that wouldn't be a
- 16:34Speaker 2: bad fit. But and there's also names like Bill Belichick.
- 16:37Speaker 2: That's I think that's a joke. But they also mentioned
- 16:40Speaker 2: like Nick Saban. So these are some of the names
- 16:42Speaker 2: that's out there, but that Bill Clark, Ryan Silverfield, Tyson Headfield, Helton.
- 16:52Speaker 2: So there's a lot of names that's out there. But regardless,
- 16:54Speaker 2: you got to get somebody who's gonna be a dynamic
- 16:56Speaker 2: cruiterer and recruit those states. Okay, So that's that's really
- 17:01Speaker 2: where I think it all starts from. And it's gonna
- 17:07Speaker 2: start from the recruiting and who is who is that recruiter?
- 17:11Speaker 2: And who do you want knocking on your door? You
- 17:14Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, because who knocks on your door?
- 17:18Speaker 2: And or if I'm the recruiter and and the big
- 17:21Speaker 2: name head coach is sitting there, sitting there, I'm coming
- 17:24Speaker 2: in talking to you about you get a chance to
- 17:26Speaker 2: play with this guy, you know, and this is the
- 17:29Speaker 2: opportunity that a whole lot of people would like the hat. Now,
- 17:35Speaker 2: So who passes that up? Though? Like if you if
- 17:37Speaker 2: you get somebody like that, but who do you get?
- 17:40Speaker 2: Is a question? That's that's the start.
- 17:42Speaker 5: And that's exactly the question I was gonna pose to
- 17:45Speaker 5: both of you guys, who who on that short list
- 17:47Speaker 5: do you feel like would be the best fit in Morgantown.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I mean, realistically, if I'm looking at those names and
- 17:54Speaker 2: just kind of thinking outside the box, I mean, you
- 17:57Speaker 2: are you need a prime time effect, like a prime
- 17:59Speaker 2: dionce Is effects. So I think Jimbo Fisher I was
- 18:01Speaker 2: gonna be That's where I was gonna go again. But
- 18:07Speaker 2: coach coach Fisher got seventy five million reasons why he
- 18:10Speaker 2: maybe wouldn't want that job. Yeah, because it's gonna it's
- 18:14Speaker 2: gonna take it's gonna take some work. But flip that
- 18:17Speaker 2: and say, Okay, I got that seventy five million, so
- 18:20Speaker 2: I can afford to take that joint. Good point, I
- 18:23Speaker 2: can take that job because I've already got the money
- 18:26Speaker 2: that I'm looking for. I'm good for now.
- 18:28Speaker 4: It's not about the money.
- 18:29Speaker 2: It's not gonna be.
- 18:30Speaker 5: It would be about just getting out of retirement. Maybe
- 18:32Speaker 5: he's tired of it, maybe he just wants the challenge
- 18:35Speaker 5: of coaching. And you know, the collegiate level. Again, he's
- 18:37Speaker 5: a West Virginia got, He's a West Virginia guy.
- 18:39Speaker 2: But but the biggest point that you made starting this
- 18:43Speaker 2: conversation out is they've got to find a way to
- 18:47Speaker 2: get to Texas. They gotta find a way. You you
- 18:50Speaker 2: gotta get players out of those states in order to
- 18:54Speaker 2: and and and m And that that to me that
- 18:59Speaker 2: he wouldn't be new, wouldn't be new to Texas recruiting,
- 19:01Speaker 2: because you gotta win some Texas you because again Texas,
- 19:04Speaker 2: when you talk about Texas, California, and uh, Florida, that's
- 19:08Speaker 2: the best high school football in the nation. And again,
- 19:10Speaker 2: I understand we got the trans report and all that,
- 19:12Speaker 2: but if you look at the premiere programs, a lot
- 19:14Speaker 2: a large percent of their rosters are still made up
- 19:16Speaker 2: of high school recruise. Guys are getting from high school
- 19:19Speaker 2: the foundations, right, even if you look at Prime, I mean,
- 19:22Speaker 2: you know his son and Travis sunder they were high
- 19:24Speaker 2: school recruise that just followed him to California. But you
- 19:27Speaker 2: gotta win that. But the one thing that I did
- 19:30Speaker 2: hear Prime say this, and I'm pretty sure this is.
- 19:32Speaker 2: This is what he said, that he's not recruiting. He's
- 19:36Speaker 2: not really recruiting high school kids. Now he ain't because
- 19:39Speaker 2: he don't got that. He's not. He's Prime, right. But
- 19:45Speaker 2: I say, his two best players on that roster, he
- 19:48Speaker 2: recruited him from high school. Well they you can make
- 19:51Speaker 2: the case they came with him, but they came with him,
- 19:55Speaker 2: but they were from high school. They weren't transfirst. It's
- 19:57Speaker 2: an interesting it's interesting that he's the only coach I
- 20:01Speaker 2: think that I've heard actually openly admit and say he
- 20:07Speaker 2: ain't looking for a high school athlete. He's looking for
- 20:10Speaker 2: somebody in the like somebody in the portal. You know.
- 20:13Speaker 2: He ain't looking for he ain't got time to wait
- 20:16Speaker 2: on the high school kid. I would make the case.
- 20:20Speaker 2: I would have made the case that who he is
- 20:25Speaker 2: and the staff that he has would be great to
- 20:28Speaker 2: be able to mold in shape a kid, you know,
- 20:33Speaker 2: But he's he's looking for that kid that's already got
- 20:36Speaker 2: talent that we can give him some some some tips
- 20:40Speaker 2: and he can go on and become become great. He
- 20:42Speaker 2: ain't trying to mold them from from the very beginning, which.
- 20:46Speaker 5: Which you know that there's I'm not sure about that philosophy,
- 20:49Speaker 5: but he can afford to do that because of who
- 20:51Speaker 5: he is and his name. But what it is is
- 20:53Speaker 5: what's happening is the Marshals, the smaller schools are picking
- 20:56Speaker 5: up those high school kids, they developed them, get them
- 20:59Speaker 5: ready for you know, the college game scene, and then
- 21:03Speaker 5: he goes in and swoops them out of those schools.
- 21:06Speaker 5: So that's the hierarchy there of the transfer portal and
- 21:09Speaker 5: the damage that it's doing to these smaller schools like
- 21:12Speaker 5: a Marshall, even like a WU To be honest, how
- 21:15Speaker 5: do you.
- 21:16Speaker 2: And we see? I mean, and we'll see if it works, right,
- 21:20Speaker 2: I mean, he had promised that with three winning seasons
- 21:22Speaker 2: out of six so far a two or three, so
- 21:25Speaker 2: we're gonna see if it works moving forward when he
- 21:27Speaker 2: don't have shador Sandas.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Do you think he's the only college coach with that
- 21:31Speaker 5: philosophy out there?
- 21:32Speaker 4: I mean, who do who else do you think is
- 21:34Speaker 4: implementing that?
- 21:35Speaker 2: A couple of them happened. But I mean if you
- 21:36Speaker 2: look even at Gut like Debosweeney at Clemson, right, he's
- 21:40Speaker 2: I mean he's not back to where Clemson was, but
- 21:43Speaker 2: they're still in contention. Right, he's still winning games, it's
- 21:46Speaker 2: still top twenty five, and he's recruiting out of high school.
- 21:48Speaker 2: He's not doing all all this other stuff. So I
- 21:51Speaker 2: think it can be done either way. It's just that
- 21:54Speaker 2: I'm not sure if you can have a forty man
- 21:57Speaker 2: roster turno every year, and now that's going to be
- 22:00Speaker 2: and you can't and you can't lose your starting quarterback,
- 22:05Speaker 2: you're starting less offensive tackle, and.
- 22:08Speaker 5: But you could be aggressively aggressively recruiting that that portal. Yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 5: and then you know, keep it, keep it stocked so
- 22:14Speaker 5: that when those guys graduate, you know you got the
- 22:16Speaker 5: next class coming up. Or it doesn't necessarily have to
- 22:19Speaker 5: be you know, freshmen coming out of high school.
- 22:22Speaker 4: You can start with sophomores and junior So I.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Think you can get some plug, some plug and play guys.
- 22:26Speaker 2: But like I said, I don't know if you could
- 22:28Speaker 2: just do a whole roster tone over every other year. No,
- 22:31Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't. But no sustainability, well I
- 22:34Speaker 2: don't even I'll even make it a little bit smaller.
- 22:36Speaker 2: You can't. You can't get you can't lose your your base,
- 22:41Speaker 2: your foundation, which is those let's say five to six
- 22:45Speaker 2: guys offensive defense that are major players. You can't lose
- 22:49Speaker 2: to of them. You can't. You can't lose two of
- 22:52Speaker 2: them to the portal and and go find them in
- 22:55Speaker 2: high school. You you, you're gonna have to that. That
- 22:58Speaker 2: will force you saying that that's gonna to repeat. You
- 23:02Speaker 2: gotta find somebody who's already somewhat skilled and impressive compared
- 23:08Speaker 2: to that guy that's in high school. I think you
- 23:10Speaker 2: can find some plug and play guys. And I'm just
- 23:13Speaker 2: not sure if you can do a whole roster turnover,
- 23:16Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I'm not sure if you can say, Okay,
- 23:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna replace my whole defense, my whole offense. I'm
- 23:20Speaker 2: gonna make the case you can't replace your three or
- 23:23Speaker 2: four top you have to replace your three or forty players.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I think you can do that. I think you can
- 23:30Speaker 2: find those guys.
- 23:31Speaker 5: I think if you, if you, if you work the
- 23:32Speaker 5: system the right way, you could and.
- 23:34Speaker 2: If you're a prime you can do it. You can
- 23:37Speaker 2: find those those two or three guys you but you
- 23:39Speaker 2: have you are you are gonna have to be prime
- 23:43Speaker 2: or at that level you just have money like Alabama.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Let's take it quick break and it will be right back.

- 25:17Speaker 2: these last few weekends are like the like the rival games,
- 25:22Speaker 2: you know, the old uh South Charleston g H. You know,
- 25:28Speaker 2: just like those those types of games are huge. Talk
- 25:35Speaker 2: to me about what are you looking forward to in
- 25:40Speaker 2: this week? What are you thinking, what do you like?
- 25:42Speaker 4: What do you just this past weekend?
- 25:45Speaker 2: What was past weekend? What you witnessed?
- 25:49Speaker 5: I think I think there's two words, flag planting.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Flag planting.
- 25:55Speaker 5: I think that's what sparked a lot of the aggressiveness
- 25:59Speaker 5: we saw on the field after play. I mean, we've
- 26:01Speaker 5: always got the heated rivalries this time of year, like
- 26:05Speaker 5: like you just said, and I feel like it's okay
- 26:08Speaker 5: if a player, you know that, especially if you're the
- 26:11Speaker 5: away team and you come out victorious, it's okay to
- 26:14Speaker 5: take your school flag into a victory lap. I'm okay
- 26:16Speaker 5: with that, you know, to the victor the spoils. But
- 26:19Speaker 5: when you actively take your school flag into the middle
- 26:22Speaker 5: of these players. And the one team is licking their
- 26:26Speaker 5: wounds from this, this this horrible loss to their rival,
- 26:30Speaker 5: and you're taking your flag and basically planting it under
- 26:33Speaker 5: their nose, right in front of their face.
- 26:36Speaker 4: There's going to be a problem. And that's what we
- 26:38Speaker 4: saw this past weekend. There were problems.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Okay, so let me let me let me just say
- 26:42Speaker 2: this about about taking your flag and taking it out
- 26:47Speaker 2: on the field. Okay, Like I've tried to figure out
- 26:52Speaker 2: how frustrated that would be to me, you know, like
- 26:56Speaker 2: you just want and you're out middle field, got your
- 27:01Speaker 2: flag up, and let's just say you're at You're at
- 27:05Speaker 2: You're at at the Biking field right like you're at
- 27:08Speaker 2: It's a home game for the Vikings, and you got
- 27:11Speaker 2: a Packer flag in the middle of the field.
- 27:13Speaker 4: So let's bring the Packers and say that. Okay.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm trying to figure out, like how
- 27:22Speaker 2: frustrated that would make me, because I would make the
- 27:25Speaker 2: case if the game wasn't close, you know, right down
- 27:30Speaker 2: to the end. Am I that upset? But but I
- 27:33Speaker 2: think it's different in that when you talk about like
- 27:35Speaker 2: these college football rivalries right. So it happened in like
- 27:38Speaker 2: the Michigan Ohio State game, and everybody knows what that is.
- 27:42Speaker 2: They were like what number one or two going in
- 27:45Speaker 2: So they take this loss, so obviously that's gonna either
- 27:47Speaker 2: that can either knock them out of the playoffs or
- 27:50Speaker 2: that kid, you know, change their seating. Right. So it's
- 27:53Speaker 2: other implications, but just outside of the ribbaly, but personally
- 27:57Speaker 2: I love it.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Look, I think you should.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I think it should happen, like you know, like you think.
- 28:05Speaker 4: The flag planting the flag.
- 28:07Speaker 2: It's okay, let's do it because this is the last
- 28:10Speaker 2: thing that we have in college football. We don't have
- 28:13Speaker 2: anything else.
- 28:14Speaker 4: We's okay, sportsmanship, great, do.
- 28:16Speaker 2: It because what I'm saying is because it's going to
- 28:20Speaker 2: keep the robberies going. Because what I'm saying is this,
- 28:24Speaker 2: My point is this, this is the last This is
- 28:27Speaker 2: kind of like the last thing we have in college football.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Because we talked about a nauseum transfer reporter n I L.
- 28:33Speaker 2: N I L is changing it strictly to a business.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I think in some time here in the new future,
- 28:37Speaker 2: they're gonna get rid of requirements for g PA. You
- 28:40Speaker 2: might not even have to go to school anymore. You
- 28:42Speaker 2: just might have be an employee of the super point, right,
- 28:44Speaker 2: and and again with the transfer reporter, you lose the
- 28:48Speaker 2: continuity of the players. So it's not like back in
- 28:51Speaker 2: the day where you know, some super fan could go
- 28:53Speaker 2: through the whole you know, sixty man roster at w
- 28:56Speaker 2: tell you everybody about everything where they came from, every
- 28:59Speaker 2: play may Now it's so much movement. I just saw
- 29:02Speaker 2: a kid now he's going to his third school, right,
- 29:05Speaker 2: So we lost the continuity, we lost kind of the
- 29:07Speaker 2: amateurism that was college football. Robbery's is all we got left.
- 29:12Speaker 2: This is literally all we got left, and with conferences
- 29:15Speaker 2: changing some of it even than the rivals till I
- 29:17Speaker 2: think like I would, and Iwoa State they don't even
- 29:20Speaker 2: play any They didn't play for the first time of
- 29:21Speaker 2: like one hundred and twenty years. So this is what
- 29:24Speaker 2: we have left. So plaque fans get in fights, make
- 29:28Speaker 2: it work all right?
- 29:29Speaker 4: Now, Now, Okay, ain't nobody.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Ain't nobody getting hurt, got a bunch of equipment on.
- 29:36Speaker 2: There's the reality too, that it's hard to have a
- 29:40Speaker 2: fight and hurt. You got knowing this is the likely
- 29:43Speaker 2: the guy who.
- 29:45Speaker 5: Now whether this is true or not, And I did
- 29:47Speaker 5: read this somewhere, and of course if it's on the internet,
- 29:48Speaker 5: it's got to be true. But that during the Ohio
- 29:52Speaker 5: State Michigan melee that there was like a guard trying
- 29:55Speaker 5: to break up the players that got hurt. So see
- 29:58Speaker 5: you got that side of it too.
- 29:59Speaker 2: That's true. But the way but but you have to
- 30:04Speaker 2: you it has to break it up. If head coach
- 30:08Speaker 2: security guard and I got a six six but that job,
- 30:14Speaker 2: y'all go get it out. Y'all all wait to whoever
- 30:16Speaker 2: we win and not just take Come on, bro, he
- 30:18Speaker 2: had enough. I ain't getting in between y'all up. Come on, man,
- 30:24Speaker 2: I'm shot that that that that you you would take
- 30:28Speaker 2: that position. This is what we got left, bro. We
- 30:31Speaker 2: don't got nothing left, but we do.
- 30:33Speaker 4: I mean, it's like I said, I mean, isn't it
- 30:35Speaker 4: enough that you won.
- 30:36Speaker 5: The game and you and you do like your little
- 30:38Speaker 5: rub the flag and then you know, do the do
- 30:40Speaker 5: the little run.
- 30:41Speaker 4: Around the field, plant the planet, plant the fla like
- 30:46Speaker 4: for example, oh my goodness.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Like w V. You didn't even play pit this weekend.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Marshall didn't play Ohio for man, Miami of Ohio. We've
- 30:54Speaker 2: lost it. We don't have it. No more.
- 30:57Speaker 4: We don't even have the rob played it at the minute. Yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 4: but robbery, yeah, yeah, you're right, you're no. They forty scheduling.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Come on, that's one of the greatest robberies in college football.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Now play on robbery, don't play Virginia Tech no more.
- 31:10Speaker 4: But they didn't plant the flag. Of course they won
- 31:12Speaker 4: at home. I think this is more of an issue
- 31:14Speaker 4: when you went away.
- 31:15Speaker 2: You went away. Yeah, it's the visiting team that's winning.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Plant that who's planning the flag at the fifty yard line?
- 31:22Speaker 2: The coaches, you gotta take it.
- 31:23Speaker 4: The coaches, they don't like it, even the head coaches.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Let me ask this before you, before you finished that,
- 31:30Speaker 2: Before you finished that, I'm trying to figure out, how
- 31:33Speaker 2: have I How am I as the player, and let's
- 31:35Speaker 2: say you're the head coach, right or you're a coach
- 31:38Speaker 2: on the sideline, how do I get out to the
- 31:42Speaker 2: fifty yard line to plant that flag without you?
- 31:46Speaker 4: You run fast without you?
- 31:48Speaker 2: I mean, come on, but you got.
- 31:51Speaker 5: He just ran in the middle. I mean he didn't
- 31:54Speaker 5: even he didn't stop once he got in the middle.
- 31:56Speaker 5: He tried to plant that flag, and those Buckeye players
- 31:58Speaker 5: were all over it.
- 31:59Speaker 2: They Okay, okay, So is that is that a coach?
- 32:03Speaker 2: Is that something? As a head coach, I have to
- 32:06Speaker 2: already start talking about baby, for sure. You got to
- 32:09Speaker 2: talk about it to make sure that it never happens.
- 32:13Speaker 2: You gotta talk about it, man, we gotta. I don't know.
- 32:15Speaker 2: I like it, man, Like I said, it's just like
- 32:18Speaker 2: I said the robberies that I like that intensity of
- 32:21Speaker 2: that because it happened in But uh was it the
- 32:24Speaker 2: Notre Dame USC game?
- 32:26Speaker 5: Uh?
- 32:26Speaker 4: It was Okay, it was definitely definitely a Higo State Michigan.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Then it was Florida.
- 32:30Speaker 2: State, Florida State, Floria. That's what the other game.
- 32:33Speaker 5: In state, n C State and U n C and
- 32:36Speaker 5: then Arizona State and Arizona which are all four big right.
- 32:39Speaker 5: But that's crazy that you had four incidents in one
- 32:42Speaker 5: weekend and there were big fights.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Do we need it the college? We need it because
- 32:47Speaker 2: look what we're we're the only thing we've talked about.
- 32:50Speaker 2: We barely talked. People barely don't talk about the play
- 32:52Speaker 2: of college football. Now. All they talk about is the
- 32:55Speaker 2: n i L transferporter What who should get this award?
- 32:58Speaker 2: Who's not getting this award? We don't talk about the play,
- 33:01Speaker 2: but you can, but you can you can't resort to
- 33:05Speaker 2: violence the fight you But what I am saying is
- 33:11Speaker 2: I'm down with some planners, plan.
- 33:13Speaker 4: And you know what's gonna happen if you do that?
- 33:14Speaker 2: Though? Would you know?
- 33:15Speaker 4: You know what the consequence.
- 33:17Speaker 2: As a coach, you got to tell your players. Look, man,
- 33:19Speaker 2: if we go out here and blow this, they're gonna
- 33:20Speaker 2: plant that flag. And they know y'all can do, y'all's
- 33:22Speaker 2: got to.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Well, maybe that just to be established.
- 33:24Speaker 2: I wouldn't make the case. I'm to your point. That
- 33:28Speaker 2: is a valid that is part of the home coaches,
- 33:33Speaker 2: the home head coaches conversation. Guys, I'm telling you you
- 33:38Speaker 2: better be prepared if you if you do not win
- 33:40Speaker 2: this game, that that team across the field is gonna
- 33:45Speaker 2: come out and going to plan a flag.
- 33:46Speaker 4: And here's another point to make.
- 33:48Speaker 5: I think the conferences probably are gonna have to kind
- 33:50Speaker 5: of step in and make rules about this, because obviously
- 33:54Speaker 5: I think the Big Ten find both Michigan and.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Ohio State for their behavior.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Both were fine, like I think one hundred thousand dollars,
- 33:59Speaker 5: which is nothing for the big schools, but still they
- 34:02Speaker 5: were making a statement saying we're not going to tolerate this.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Because but I think you gotta have some fun. I mean,
- 34:08Speaker 2: that's not that is not it's fun to the fans.
- 34:11Speaker 2: It's fun to the fans to see that. Again, we
- 34:13Speaker 2: don't want to see melees. We don't want to see
- 34:14Speaker 2: people hurt. Obviously, we don't know what's gonna happen. What
- 34:17Speaker 2: what what this to me? This is what this can cause,
- 34:20Speaker 2: This can cause you in the stands, me and the
- 34:23Speaker 2: stands at least in the stands and wherever we wherever
- 34:26Speaker 2: we support whichever one of us lose and whichever because
- 34:33Speaker 2: I'm not gonna like I want you like putting the
- 34:35Speaker 2: flag up in my face, because because y'all want because
- 34:37Speaker 2: so now you got a bleacher because now you've got
- 34:39Speaker 2: a bleacher issue. But I mean, even if it's not
- 34:42Speaker 2: a flag, what they'll do is, oh, you can't bring flags, Okay,
- 34:45Speaker 2: So they'll go to the other team's logo and they'll
- 34:48Speaker 2: like stomp their feed or rub their feet on the logo.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Or take that more than But I think we.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Gotta just we gotta falster these rivalcy. Obviously, again, you
- 34:56Speaker 2: don't want something, but we got to do something. But
- 34:58Speaker 2: bad sportsmanship is no a way to do it. It's fun,
- 35:01Speaker 2: though it's not necessarily always. This is fun. It's fun.
- 35:08Speaker 2: It's fun. I would never expect you to be on
- 35:12Speaker 2: this side, because I maybe wouldn't. But this is what
- 35:16Speaker 2: we have left from college football. You realize this is it.
- 35:20Speaker 2: We took around to the bowl games don't mean anything anymore,
- 35:24Speaker 2: right because we got the playoffs. We got the playoffs.
- 35:27Speaker 2: So now even if you didn't, even if you weren't
- 35:29Speaker 2: in the National Championship prior to this and you were
- 35:31Speaker 2: in a bowl game, your bowl game still means something.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Now you got players if they're not in the playoffs,
- 35:36Speaker 2: and even if they got a low seed in the playoffs,
- 35:38Speaker 2: they're just saying, I do the ball game. I'll just
- 35:40Speaker 2: get ready for the draft, or get ready for next season,
- 35:42Speaker 2: or or get ready to transfer. We got coaches again,
- 35:45Speaker 2: it's happened to getting interviewed in the middle of the season.
- 35:48Speaker 2: You got a championship game coming on, and now you
- 35:51Speaker 2: job speculation and all that, which is problematic. So everything
- 35:54Speaker 2: about the college football that we love is turned into
- 35:58Speaker 2: almost it. Which is it. It's cool to watch, it's
- 36:01Speaker 2: cool to watch. The NFL's fun. It's great, but it
- 36:03Speaker 2: didn't playoff time. When college football, the difference was it
- 36:07Speaker 2: was good from day one all the way through every
- 36:09Speaker 2: game it was it was intense. So so I just think,
- 36:13Speaker 2: for in some degree, this is what we have left,
- 36:16Speaker 2: this is what we're relegated to.
- 36:18Speaker 5: Like I said, I think the victory lapse. I think
- 36:21Speaker 5: the flag planning probably takes it a step too far.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Take it, take that step.
- 36:28Speaker 4: I said what I said.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I just I don't see you. I don't see you
- 36:33Speaker 2: in that in that in that space the fan though,
- 36:36Speaker 2: Like I'm a I'm a college football fan. I love
- 36:38Speaker 2: college football, and it's just it's just different now. It's
- 36:41Speaker 2: just not the same man. Like I said, it's just
- 36:44Speaker 2: I mean even even to the degree now where like
- 36:46Speaker 2: like number one, number two seed, top seeds losing maybe
- 36:49Speaker 2: two three games, right, it's just not the same. It's
- 36:52Speaker 2: not the college football that we grew up on. I
- 36:54Speaker 2: know I sound old at this point, but it's just
- 36:56Speaker 2: the intensity I of lack it, you know, until we
- 36:59Speaker 2: get it's going to be until we get to you know,
- 37:02Speaker 2: championships time in the season, you know, I don't know.
- 37:07Speaker 5: Yeah, you're right, I mean I think the intensity that
- 37:09Speaker 5: the lack of it now you can attribute that to
- 37:13Speaker 5: the nil I mean, you've only got so many teams
- 37:16Speaker 5: that have so much money and they're up here competing
- 37:18Speaker 5: for national championships every single year, and the rest of
- 37:20Speaker 5: us are just you know, we're just going out there
- 37:22Speaker 5: trying to gather the scraps up that are left over.
- 37:26Speaker 5: You know, that's what's happened to college football. Yeah, because
- 37:28Speaker 5: ore so than anything else.
- 37:30Speaker 2: And if you look at like Marshall, when we talked
- 37:31Speaker 2: about Marshall earlier, Marshall at once when they had Moss
- 37:34Speaker 2: and Penning Tin and left which it were a top
- 37:36Speaker 2: ten that.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Could never happen again, It couldn't happen today.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Think about Marshall like they were a top ten team
- 37:43Speaker 2: if they were like if it was playoffs, Marshall would
- 37:46Speaker 2: be in the playoffs. Yes, yes, And then now that
- 37:50Speaker 2: may happen for one season, but what's going to happen
- 37:52Speaker 2: You got Randy mosson next season, He's gone to not
- 37:55Speaker 2: dang Florida State somewhere to get a bitch check. There's
- 37:58Speaker 2: no question that marsh history, it's positive history, could have
- 38:03Speaker 2: happened if you had in that in I L it
- 38:06Speaker 2: couldn't have That's what I'm saying, not just Marshall, Boise State,
- 38:10Speaker 2: all the schools who were who would Underdogs's imagine Alabama
- 38:16Speaker 2: being what it was and having the opportunity to bring
- 38:20Speaker 2: in a Randy Moss, you know what I'm saying, And
- 38:23Speaker 2: they wouldn't and they would at yeah, and it would
- 38:25Speaker 2: it would be maybe hard for him to stay because
- 38:28Speaker 2: he just got all them zeros right in front of you,
- 38:30Speaker 2: your sophomore in college. So it's like when I think
- 38:33Speaker 2: of college football, like I think of those times, and
- 38:36Speaker 2: I in one of the like I said, the relic
- 38:38Speaker 2: of that time now is the bribery games and and again,
- 38:43Speaker 2: and I think we're going to get to a point
- 38:45Speaker 2: now again you U c L a u USC. They're
- 38:48Speaker 2: in two different they're in two different conferences that the
- 38:54Speaker 2: USC is playing in the Big ten. Come on, I don't.
- 38:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 38:58Speaker 4: West Virginia's in the Big twelve. That's still you know.
- 39:02Speaker 2: I don't. Again, I don't know why it's not, you know,
- 39:07Speaker 2: geographically set up. And I know you can't always do
- 39:10Speaker 2: that because you know, you got it. You got a
- 39:13Speaker 2: major D one here and a D two over here.
- 39:17Speaker 2: But I just don't. I just don't get the the
- 39:23Speaker 2: reality of who everybody who, everybody's playing is all over
- 39:28Speaker 2: the country. Yeah, you know, and why can't you like
- 39:33Speaker 2: by by size, you know, by level, by athletic and
- 39:38Speaker 2: put all those groups in a general area playing a
- 39:42Speaker 2: general That's what it was prior to. And I on
- 39:45Speaker 2: the money and TV deals and endorsements and this and
- 39:48Speaker 2: this and that. So now it just becomes where is
- 39:50Speaker 2: the most Where the situation has replied to geography.
- 39:54Speaker 4: I mean, look at the SEC.
- 39:55Speaker 5: Look what they've done, how they've expanded and taken teams
- 39:57Speaker 5: from Texas.
- 39:58Speaker 4: A and M. I mean that that doesn't mean how is.
- 40:02Speaker 2: There is there a loyalty or let me rephrase it.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Can a player have loyalty to a school that he's
- 40:11Speaker 2: been really good at. Let's just use the Randy Moss
- 40:14Speaker 2: at Marshall and it's his second year and everybody's coming
- 40:19Speaker 2: trying to get him. Is there a possibility of having
- 40:24Speaker 2: enough loyalty to say now I'm I'm gonna finish out
- 40:28Speaker 2: my career here is do we have? Is there is
- 40:31Speaker 2: there a parent or is there an athlete and or
- 40:35Speaker 2: both willing to say I'm gonna stay. I know where
- 40:39Speaker 2: we may only because if you're making if they're gonna
- 40:41Speaker 2: offer you money, you're probably making some money where you are,
- 40:45Speaker 2: but maybe not as much as they're offering you. Are
- 40:48Speaker 2: you willing? Is there is there players out there that
- 40:51Speaker 2: would be and parents willing to stay put in spite
- 40:55Speaker 2: of the money.
- 40:55Speaker 4: What do you think?
- 40:57Speaker 2: I think it depends on your your family situation. Right
- 41:00Speaker 2: if you look at arch your maneing in Texas currently
- 41:04Speaker 2: he doesn't Money's not an issue by him and his family,
- 41:08Speaker 2: so he can afford to go there be a backup
- 41:10Speaker 2: when he could probably go to any other school in
- 41:12Speaker 2: the country and be a starting quarterback from day one.
- 41:16Speaker 2: So it depends on your family set up. So if
- 41:19Speaker 2: you are Randy Mossey, maybe you don't have the means
- 41:21Speaker 2: at that time and Marshall's paying you twenty thirty grand
- 41:25Speaker 2: but didn't know the Dame Florida State, Alabama, Ohio steps
- 41:29Speaker 2: and say hey, look we're going to give you a
- 41:30Speaker 2: half a million dollars. What you gonna do?
- 41:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's a good point.
- 41:35Speaker 5: I also think it depends on a personal connection with
- 41:38Speaker 5: the school, Like if you've had family go to school there,
- 41:42Speaker 5: you know if you're from that area, even if you're
- 41:44Speaker 5: from that actual state that's recruited you.
- 41:46Speaker 4: I think that matters too.
- 41:48Speaker 2: I'm questionable because I don't know if we get that
- 41:55Speaker 2: kind of loyalty to a school now. I like, I
- 42:00Speaker 2: never thought about going anywhere, leaving Marshall in spite of losing,
- 42:04Speaker 2: Like it never it never donned the means that could
- 42:07Speaker 2: be different if it was money and being a kid
- 42:09Speaker 2: and not, but just focusing on not at a program
- 42:15Speaker 2: that's winning that people are talking about, it's always negative.
- 42:18Speaker 2: I never thought about leaving, not one time, and I don't.
- 42:22Speaker 2: And I know it bothered a lot of guys who
- 42:24Speaker 2: came from major Division ones and stuff that were you know,
- 42:28Speaker 2: didn't lose a game. There was guys who hadn't lost
- 42:30Speaker 2: a game their entire high school career and they're barely winning.
- 42:36Speaker 2: They couldn't. I mean, it was hard for them to
- 42:37Speaker 2: handle it, right.
- 42:40Speaker 5: I mean, I think I think whenever we were growing up,
- 42:44Speaker 5: it was a whole different recruiting area era, and so
- 42:48Speaker 5: you know, we didn't have the social media. We didn't
- 42:51Speaker 5: have like you would have. Scouts actually have to come
- 42:53Speaker 5: in person and watch you play high school ball or
- 42:57Speaker 5: whatever level you were on it for them to just
- 43:00Speaker 5: whether or not they would offer a scholarship these days,
- 43:02Speaker 5: I mean, it's not that way. They've got social media,
- 43:04Speaker 5: they've got videos they can watch, they there's just so
- 43:07Speaker 5: many other aspects to bringing kids out of their home
- 43:12Speaker 5: state to a different area in the nation and another school,
- 43:15Speaker 5: don't you think.
- 43:16Speaker 2: I'm definitely. And Plus it's like if I'm on social media,
- 43:19Speaker 2: if I'm down here at Marshall WVT, I'm balling out.
- 43:22Speaker 2: I'm all American, And like I said, I'm getting paid
- 43:24Speaker 2: twenty thirty maybe forty fifty thousand dollars a year, and
- 43:27Speaker 2: I'm looking on social media and I got this guy
- 43:29Speaker 2: in Ohio, Alabama or USC and he barely got half
- 43:33Speaker 2: my status. He's not doesn't have the accolades I got,
- 43:35Speaker 2: and he's driving a brand new let's just BMW gold chains,
- 43:39Speaker 2: living it up in the city. And I'm like, and
- 43:42Speaker 2: I'm sitting here barely paying rent and I'm better than
- 43:45Speaker 2: this guy, and I'm getting and then I turn around
- 43:48Speaker 2: and get offered similar more. It's hard to sort of
- 43:51Speaker 2: manage that. So it's not so again, It's just we've
- 43:54Speaker 2: turned college football into a business, and this is the result.
- 43:57Speaker 2: This is the result you're going where the best office is.
- 44:00Speaker 2: And again, I think you have some guys going to
- 44:02Speaker 2: be Och loyal who want to be Saturday Morning heroes,
- 44:05Speaker 2: who have a lineage to the school that they're at,
- 44:08Speaker 2: who you know, maybe have a you know, a Lloyds
- 44:12Speaker 2: to the coaching staff. I think those things exist. But
- 44:16Speaker 2: you know there's another side to that as well. I
- 44:20Speaker 2: just I don't know, it just seems.
- 44:22Speaker 5: I mean, in your in your case, Carl, let's let's
- 44:24Speaker 5: just put this out there. If at that time and
- 44:26Speaker 5: I all existed and you had a different school other
- 44:30Speaker 5: than Marshall offering you money or you know, gifts to
- 44:34Speaker 5: come play for them, do you think that could have
- 44:35Speaker 5: changed your mindset about going to Marshall.
- 44:39Speaker 2: It might have changed mind It might not have changed
- 44:41Speaker 2: my dad's, but I probably would have been interested in
- 44:47Speaker 2: pursuing it seeing what it is now. My dad was
- 44:50Speaker 2: probably not going to You know, my dad was that
- 44:54Speaker 2: kind of you know, when you when you when you
- 44:56Speaker 2: say you're going somewhere, you're going to be somewhere, You're
- 44:59Speaker 2: you're there, right, So he was. That's until he get
- 45:01Speaker 2: that one hundred thousand dollars check. Well, yeah, I'm saying
- 45:05Speaker 2: that looking back and knowing who he was. But again,
- 45:11Speaker 2: like you said, one hundred thousand dollars changes that changed
- 45:15Speaker 2: a lot of That changed a lot of things because
- 45:17Speaker 2: he might have been like, boy, you better go get
- 45:19Speaker 2: that money. That now you don't know what yeah. So
- 45:25Speaker 2: and again, man, I get it, I get it, But
- 45:29Speaker 2: I just don't think that you don't like you. But
- 45:31Speaker 2: I say this, like I told you earlier, this is
- 45:33Speaker 2: the result of college football coaches. Coaches did this, and
- 45:37Speaker 2: I'm putting that up and nobody talks about this because
- 45:40Speaker 2: coaches back in the day they had their endorsement deals.
- 45:43Speaker 2: They didn't share that money. I mean some of them.
- 45:46Speaker 2: I'm sure they funded programs and did things probably underneath
- 45:49Speaker 2: the table, but players couldn't cash in on that is
- 45:52Speaker 2: I guess that's a better way to stay. State coaches,
- 45:55Speaker 2: just like rich Rod will do leave before the bowl game.
- 45:58Speaker 2: So you worked this season, you did, did all the stuff,
- 46:00Speaker 2: you preached, all this, and now we're at the bowl game.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Now we at the end of the season. You getting interviewed.
- 46:05Speaker 2: The season ain't even over. So I think structurally this
- 46:09Speaker 2: is what college football coaches, presidents and everything did. So
- 46:12Speaker 2: you cannot blame the players. For now it's their turn
- 46:15Speaker 2: to do it. And until we get sort of auto
- 46:18Speaker 2: correct the ship where everybody's playing the game fair, this
- 46:22Speaker 2: is the result. By I think we can go back
- 46:24Speaker 2: to a dry I think we'll go back to a again.
- 46:28Speaker 4: It's gonna be regulated.
- 46:30Speaker 2: I say that it's gonna be regulated. But college football coaches,
- 46:34Speaker 2: as much as they preach and do all this stuff,
- 46:36Speaker 2: they gotta take some accountability for this. Okay, So let
- 46:40Speaker 2: me just say this first. Normally, when we get ready
- 46:44Speaker 2: to come on the show and we're discussing things that
- 46:49Speaker 2: we're gonna talk about, I don't know if I've ever
- 46:54Speaker 2: necessarily heard you come out.
- 46:57Speaker 4: That hard on, full of surprise.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Yeah, like you're you're like, you're straight up blaming the
- 47:06Speaker 2: coach you got to and nobody talks about it. Nobody
- 47:10Speaker 2: talks about how we got here. And and you know
- 47:13Speaker 2: what's funny, I don't even know if they thought they
- 47:16Speaker 2: they've had it.
- 47:16Speaker 4: I can't argue with it.
- 47:17Speaker 2: I can't either.
- 47:18Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know if something I've never but
- 47:22Speaker 5: he's right.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Think about what would happened at prep conferences to say,
- 47:26Speaker 2: five ten years ago you had a coach he ha
- 47:28Speaker 2: his Gatorade or whatever drink. He's endorsement Pam right there,
- 47:32Speaker 2: he has he getting he's getting paid or getting kickbacks
- 47:35Speaker 2: from the Appareled, Nike, Deedal Conference, whatever they do. He's
- 47:39Speaker 2: getting that. He's getting that commercials, he's getting that all
- 47:42Speaker 2: of us coming to him or going to the school.
- 47:45Speaker 2: And then the players will send back subject like they're
- 47:47Speaker 2: they're not crazy. They're in college. They're taking advertisement. So
- 47:50Speaker 2: they're seeing all this happening right before their eyes. They
- 47:53Speaker 2: can't cash in on it. Remember coach K's basketball on
- 47:56Speaker 2: the second. He's getting paid for that, not.
- 47:58Speaker 5: The players, but at that time, planning that you are
- 48:01Speaker 5: getting paid with a college education, and that is not
- 48:04Speaker 5: that is not a value anymore.
- 48:06Speaker 4: What we've learned players.
- 48:07Speaker 2: It ain't been a value in a while. Right, well,
- 48:10Speaker 2: let me say that, I'll take that back. Our education
- 48:13Speaker 2: is still valuable. It's just not enough. It's just it's because,
- 48:18Speaker 2: like I said, it's more money, it's more things out there.
- 48:21Speaker 4: If it was so valuable, then most of.
- 48:23Speaker 5: Those players wouldn't leave for the draft. I mean a
- 48:26Speaker 5: lot of them that's not good, that are being paid.
- 48:28Speaker 4: They leave.
- 48:29Speaker 2: But that's a small it's not even costing. It's not
- 48:33Speaker 2: even costing the school money for that athlete to to
- 48:37Speaker 2: go sit in a class, whether there's fifty kids in
- 48:41Speaker 2: and that he makes fifty one or she makes fifty one,
- 48:44Speaker 2: But it's no more. It's not making anymore or any
- 48:47Speaker 2: less money for the school.
- 48:48Speaker 5: The school is benefiting for sure, But I'm saying at
- 48:51Speaker 5: one time it was a value for you to get
- 48:54Speaker 5: a scholarship because the main goal was for you to
- 48:57Speaker 5: go get a college education for free, free ride, I said,
- 49:01Speaker 5: But I said, this.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Is still the value. And and also to the to
- 49:04Speaker 2: the colleges, they're benefiting not only from that player doing
- 49:08Speaker 2: what they're doing on the field or court, but they're
- 49:09Speaker 2: also benefiting because in most colleges, the athletic department has
- 49:13Speaker 2: the highest retention rate, they have the highest GPAs, they
- 49:17Speaker 2: have the best students. Because again our basketball those kids
- 49:20Speaker 2: are graduating, the softball players, the tennis players, they're graduating.
- 49:23Speaker 2: They're going to be the ones to go and do
- 49:25Speaker 2: things and get back to the school in different things
- 49:27Speaker 2: of that nature. So it's a huge benefit for the
- 49:30Speaker 2: school to have an athletic department that's thriving. And I've
- 49:35Speaker 2: said this before, like when you start talking about the
- 49:38Speaker 2: athlete and athlete, the student athlete one that's not even
- 49:42Speaker 2: a term anymore. Yeah, I hand nobody said that. Well,
- 49:45Speaker 2: you don't even hear student athlete anymore. And then the
- 49:50Speaker 2: other the other situation is you you rarely hear of
- 49:53Speaker 2: a of a student athlete flunking out or or strugg
- 50:00Speaker 2: and struggling with its academics. They get help, you know,
- 50:03Speaker 2: and come on like, you can't tell me of every
- 50:08Speaker 2: athlete male and female that come into the programs of
- 50:13Speaker 2: the entire university that one of those kids. And not
- 50:16Speaker 2: like on edge. But I'll say this though, I would
- 50:19Speaker 2: say academically now, because you have access to the phone,
- 50:25Speaker 2: and you have access to AI, chat, GPD, grammarly, there's
- 50:29Speaker 2: a lot more tools even outside of you getting tutored
- 50:32Speaker 2: or cheatdor anything like that. It's just a lot more
- 50:34Speaker 2: tools that you Plus you're doing classes online.
- 50:36Speaker 4: That's what I was going to say.
- 50:38Speaker 5: I mean, even like the kids that are attending school
- 50:41Speaker 5: in person, a lot of their classes they can do
- 50:43Speaker 5: them from their you can look it up and you're right.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Yeah, So if you're feeling now you want to feel,
- 50:50Speaker 2: but I'm just thinking you when you look back you had,
- 50:55Speaker 2: you had those kinds of issues for players. That's you know,
- 51:00Speaker 2: and and today you don't. That's not even that's a
- 51:04Speaker 2: good point because I ain't heard that. No, I mean.
- 51:10Speaker 4: You never hear it now.
- 51:12Speaker 2: I mean I was dealing with that a state, Yeah
- 51:14Speaker 2: for sure, you know, and you don't even you don't
- 51:17Speaker 2: hear anywhere, like you don't hear of a kid flunking
- 51:20Speaker 2: out or that's a good point. Good point. So to me,
- 51:24Speaker 2: what am I Where am I putting that? Who's responsible
- 51:28Speaker 2: for that? I think it's athletics. I think athletics. I
- 51:32Speaker 2: think athletics because athletics runs the school. It does because
- 51:37Speaker 2: it's the money maker. It's putting you on national TV
- 51:40Speaker 2: money and that the money maker. Yeah. But I say,
- 51:44Speaker 2: even to the like the Olympic sports, as I mentioned,
- 51:46Speaker 2: those kids are going to get extremely high GPAs they're
- 51:50Speaker 2: graduating school. They're they're they're on time because they actually
- 51:53Speaker 2: have somebody helping them like guide them through far as
- 51:56Speaker 2: getting their classes set up, so they're graduating on time.
- 51:59Speaker 2: So to the school, like I said, having a strong
- 52:02Speaker 2: athletic department is a total benefit. I mean, as they
- 52:05Speaker 2: ask you, you see, that's why they're adding sports every
- 52:07Speaker 2: year because these are the kids that's actually going to college,
- 52:10Speaker 2: going to participate on campus. They're guys gonna be there
- 52:12Speaker 2: on campus, you know. And and and there's a reason
- 52:15Speaker 2: there's a reason why that a lot of these kids
- 52:19Speaker 2: are making it is is because there's there's a ton
- 52:22Speaker 2: of money being put into the help that they're going
- 52:26Speaker 2: to get. You know, you're not gonna let that athlete that's.
- 52:31Speaker 4: Not going to be academically.
- 52:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, And and I think that's I think that's
- 52:40Speaker 2: that's an interesting piece there on an So I had something,
- 52:46Speaker 2: let me, let me, let me, let me find it.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Oh so the issue the Heisman Trophy, the trophy, I
- 52:58Speaker 2: don't wrap that thing up right now? Able to Colorado?
- 53:02Speaker 2: Why why not? But for the person who who doesn't think,
- 53:10Speaker 2: I don't know how to.
- 53:11Speaker 4: Think, there are few and far between.
- 53:12Speaker 5: I think every week that that that that little.
- 53:16Speaker 4: Bass is shrinking.
- 53:17Speaker 5: I mean, I really feel like the more he's performing
- 53:19Speaker 5: on the field, the more people see.
- 53:21Speaker 2: He's like the top receiver in the nation. Yeah, top
- 53:24Speaker 2: dB in the nation. He got the stats to back.
- 53:26Speaker 4: Both of us, right right right?
- 53:27Speaker 2: How do yeah? How you can't be mad at him?
- 53:30Speaker 4: Like you don't think anybody is now, I don't know.
- 53:33Speaker 2: If you don't like if you don't like Prime, he
- 53:36Speaker 2: might be taking that on you.
- 53:38Speaker 5: You talked about that, like being intimidated by him or
- 53:42Speaker 5: just not flat flat out just not liking him. Yeah,
- 53:45Speaker 5: that could affect the outcome of that.
- 53:47Speaker 2: But I just to your point, Lisa, it's just you
- 53:50Speaker 2: can't even deny it. No, I'm with you. I'm with
- 53:54Speaker 2: you on that because I mean, I don't let's even
- 53:58Speaker 2: go back to Prompt. As great as he was, I
- 54:02Speaker 2: don't know, I don't remember him being both sides of
- 54:07Speaker 2: the ball, dominating both sides of the ball in college
- 54:12Speaker 2: where they wouldn't let him, Well, it was that it
- 54:14Speaker 2: was a different time because he dominated special teams and
- 54:17Speaker 2: it was a great kick returner, put returner, and was
- 54:21Speaker 2: straight up shut down corner, probably the best shut down corner.
- 54:24Speaker 2: They wouldn't let him. I don't think they would let him.
- 54:27Speaker 2: But I mean, just to what with Travis Hunt. To me,
- 54:30Speaker 2: it's not even necessarily like the statistics, it's just the
- 54:33Speaker 2: amount of that he plays. I mean, he's playing one
- 54:36Speaker 2: hundred and twenty one hundred plus plays.
- 54:39Speaker 5: A game, and I'm interested to know how many players
- 54:42Speaker 5: across the nation are doing what he's doing exactly none exactly.
- 54:46Speaker 2: And and if you just said that, yeah, if you
- 54:49Speaker 2: are doing that, you're not playing at his level. You're
- 54:53Speaker 2: not like the number one doing the number one, like
- 54:58Speaker 2: literally the number one receiving the nation. And he's literally
- 55:01Speaker 2: like the number one. You can say, top five, top three,
- 55:04Speaker 2: stop three in the corner.
- 55:05Speaker 4: So it's like, yeah, that's just yeah, that plays your mind.
- 55:09Speaker 2: And what do you like? What can you what can
- 55:12Speaker 2: you say about that? There's nothing that you can you
- 55:15Speaker 2: can say and there's and this has nothing nothing to
- 55:20Speaker 2: do with Dion other than the fact that he dare
- 55:24Speaker 2: do that with him. That's a fact. I agree with
- 55:26Speaker 2: that Couse ninety nine, probably percent of most coaches would
- 55:33Speaker 2: have set him on one side of the ball more
- 55:35Speaker 2: than likely offense and kick return punk Return'd a dB
- 55:41Speaker 2: for me? Well, he would be for me. But but
- 55:45Speaker 2: his speed and he get the ball in his hand,
- 55:48Speaker 2: he's got a chance to score all of that kind
- 55:50Speaker 2: of stuff. I think it's just you know, how to
- 55:52Speaker 2: meet DB's the hardest position in sports, and with that
- 55:56Speaker 2: athleticism and what he can do and just change the direction.
- 55:59Speaker 2: I mean, I don't he'll be a dB for me,
- 56:02Speaker 2: But like it's just unprecedented, and like I said, just
- 56:05Speaker 2: go ahead and wrap it up. Do you think do
- 56:10Speaker 2: you think that that there isn't there is truly an
- 56:14Speaker 2: issue with again, whoever's gonna choose the Heisman? Is there
- 56:20Speaker 2: an issue with them giving it to him? I think
- 56:23Speaker 2: the only issue that they would possibly try to bring
- 56:26Speaker 2: up is that his team's not gonna make the playoffs.
- 56:28Speaker 2: I mean, are nine and three. They had a good season,
- 56:31Speaker 2: they had a turnaround season from when Dion got there.
- 56:35Speaker 2: So I think that's the only because normally what they
- 56:37Speaker 2: try to say and and again the Heisman is it's
- 56:40Speaker 2: been a joke at times because of what they've done
- 56:42Speaker 2: is they just gave it to the best player on
- 56:43Speaker 2: the best team, or the quarterback on the best team,
- 56:46Speaker 2: the best player. So I think this is an opportunity
- 56:49Speaker 2: for them to auto correct and they're actually actually actually
- 56:53Speaker 2: going to give it to just the best player, irrespective
- 56:56Speaker 2: of anything else.
- 56:57Speaker 5: So yeah, I mean that would be a week week
- 57:01Speaker 5: excuse if they say, well, he wasn't on a team
- 57:04Speaker 5: that's you know in the championship hunt. I mean that
- 57:08Speaker 5: is hopefully that won't be the route it goes. I
- 57:10Speaker 5: really feel like he's probably the most deserving player at
- 57:13Speaker 5: this point.
- 57:14Speaker 2: If they let's assume they picked X right and they
- 57:17Speaker 2: don't pick him, they're not going to say why they
- 57:20Speaker 2: didn't pick him right, I mean, and that would be
- 57:27Speaker 2: the issue is just because no one is going to
- 57:29Speaker 2: say I didn't I didn't pick it. So my fear
- 57:34Speaker 2: is if they go somewhere else, there is nobody to
- 57:39Speaker 2: try to blame, Like, I don't know who.
- 57:42Speaker 4: Who vote speculation. The media would definitely speculate on that.
- 57:46Speaker 2: There's no question, and I think there'd be a big argument,
- 57:49Speaker 2: there would be a huge contract on the other The
- 57:51Speaker 2: only other player that's even in the race is the
- 57:54Speaker 2: running back from Boise, and I think the only reason
- 57:56Speaker 2: they would people would vote or go because they want
- 57:58Speaker 2: to bring back the evalence of the running back. So
- 58:01Speaker 2: I can imagine some some some players because I think
- 58:04Speaker 2: the players who were heismans get to vote, so I
- 58:06Speaker 2: can imagine some of the older running backs to say, hey,
- 58:08Speaker 2: I'm going to go for a running back just because
- 58:09Speaker 2: we want to prop the running back up again. So
- 58:12Speaker 2: I think that's the only the only way you can
- 58:15Speaker 2: sort of.
- 58:16Speaker 4: I just don't even think that.
- 58:19Speaker 2: Because I mean, I'm gone with you, Hollis. When you
- 58:22Speaker 2: say who is the best player in college football, there's
- 58:26Speaker 2: not a conversation. There's not even a number two. It's
- 58:28Speaker 2: not say the running back is closed. But that's it.
- 58:32Speaker 5: And that's coming up soon, right, the Heisman Trophy, like
- 58:35Speaker 5: in the next week or so, after the championship games,
- 58:39Speaker 5: before that, before yeah, maybe in between.
- 58:44Speaker 2: Maybe the next week or two. Yeah, I think it's
- 58:46Speaker 2: coming up. Should be well, I'm I'm hoping that they
- 58:50Speaker 2: do the right thing. And if they don't, man, it's
- 58:53Speaker 2: just a jump. You better be you better be on,
- 58:56Speaker 2: you better be looking for prime.
- 58:58Speaker 4: To he's he'll have something to say, no question.
- 59:03Speaker 2: It's almost like you're invalidated if you don't do the
- 59:05Speaker 2: right thing. And then we got to give a shout
- 59:07Speaker 2: out and sending our prayers and condulences, not condulencens, but
- 59:11Speaker 2: prayers to Randy Moss. He's going through a health issues
- 59:14Speaker 2: with his eyes and whatnot. Yep, I'm glad that you
- 59:16Speaker 2: did hit that. I actually forgot about that. I had
- 59:22Speaker 2: heard about it and then I sent down to text,
- 59:24Speaker 2: and you know, I didn't expect a response back, but
- 59:28Speaker 2: I just felt like it was something for me knowing
- 59:32Speaker 2: him and respecting him as I do. I wanted to
- 59:36Speaker 2: make sure that I did reach out to him, so
- 59:37Speaker 2: at least you know, he knew that I was. I
- 59:40Speaker 2: was thinking about him and whatever this is man like
- 59:43Speaker 2: I said, I'm I'm hoping that it's nothing too serious
- 59:49Speaker 2: and uh and he can get through it as quick
- 59:51Speaker 2: as possible. All right, So one more time for Frank Walker.
