If you’re driving north on I-405 in Kirkland this weekend, reroute now—northbound lanes from Northeast 70th to 85th Street are shut down Friday night until Monday morning. Part of a $234M upgrade to the Northeast 85th Street interchange, this closure lets crews install a fish passage culvert (already done southbound) to protect local aquatic life. Expect massive backups and unpredictable delays across surrounding roads as work progresses.
