Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Excellent texts in regard to Allie's question on is Almond Joy an old person candy now?
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: Now think about this.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: We already know the joke about Werther's originals.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: That is the 85-year-old's candy.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: Right, but then my boyfriend tells me my candy that I love so much, Almond Joy, he's like, that's old people.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: You're getting into old person territory.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: And then I thought, you're right.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Well, not you're right.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: I don't know that I agree with it.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Gavin and Lydia, I don't think would ever eat almond joy.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: I've been to how many trunk retreats with them.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: I never see them take the almond joy.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: But we don't get almond joys in those, hardly at all.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: We usually get the Snickers, the Milky Way, the Three Musketeers.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: On occasion, you'll get the Reese Peanut Butter Cup.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: So I think it's a matter of two things.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: I don't think they're exposing the almond joy in the mounds to the younger audience as much.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Also, for whatever reason, right now, the kids just gravitate to the top two.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: If it's sour and a gummy, that's number one, either of those.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: And sometimes both combined, followed by like a Reese peanut butter cup.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: That seems to be holding the lion's share of what a young person is going for for the candy.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: But then your text come in and now you're bringing up other great ones.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Oh, this one I love because I love this candy so much.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Somebody said that they would go to their grandmother's house and she had Andy's candies.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Man, that's elite.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: It was almost like you had to eat them with your pinky out.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: You did.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: And it was like either that or she ripped off Olive Garden.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: I love going to Olive Garden for this reason alone.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: And then I always ask everyone at the table, Are you gonna eat that?
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna eat that?
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna eat it.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Get your hands off.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: I'll smack your hands.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: I love when the waitress brings extra.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Extra tip for you.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: There is uh there's something about an Andy's candy which is uh pretty on top of it.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: What is this one?
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Hang on, I gotta open your digits here.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: This is Oh, it's just Will.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: I don't have your digits.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Will said a Wetchamacollets.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: Watch McCollets?
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: I don't know what that tastes like.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: They're excellent.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: And you know where you can find one?
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Uh Rural King.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: I was there this past Saturday.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: It was in the checkout aisle.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: What does a Wachamacollet taste like?
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: It's hard to describe, but they're really good.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: Also, it was a big candy back in the day.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: It's not as marketed as like the Reese.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Ooh.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: It has something I love.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Peanut butter.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but not an excessive amount.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: It's somewhere in the right balance.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: It's a sweet, crunchy combination of peanut butter, soft caramel, and milk chocolate.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: They're good.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: I might have had one once when I was a kid.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: When you're at checkout next time at the Rural King, uh, look down.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: They have Tiffany pointed it out to me.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: She goes, I haven't seen those in forever.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: I sure will.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Also, this one, it's not an old person candy talking about the almond joys.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: It's the coconut.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Not everyone likes coconut.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: That is true.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, I love coconut though so much.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Does the coconut cool your mouth?
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: It's a weird sensation for me, but it does.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: It's really soft and gooey.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I can tell you that much.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: With the almond joy.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, minus the almond part.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: But then that is normally the hardest part.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Uh wait, hold on a second.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Somebody said almond joy dark chocolate, and I'm 38.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: That sounds delicious.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: So I I believe it's not enough.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: You can tell this to Zach.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: You can say we deduce this with the world's most dangerous audience.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: It's not an old person's candy.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: It's a discerning palate candy.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Oh, thank you.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: I'm so glad that I have a discerning palette.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: The lower level are going for sour gummies.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: However, we're discerning.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: I also love 3490, just throws in a random candy corn all day long.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: God, Gavin has a.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Gavin's the candy corn kit.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, yay.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's terrible.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: It's terrible.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: This is why I always love Gavin.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: It's got the plastic tub sitting on the counter.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, oh, it's the one with the pumpkins?
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Where it's the candy corn and the pumpkins.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: Okay, if I'm gonna have to have a candy corn, I will eat that one weirdly.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: But the other ones, no.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: It's you know, now of course I could be sensitive to that because it kind of looks like a tooth at the same time and might have been a little bit uh touchy the past couple days.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: I'm just kidding.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Uh also love Doug, 3386, where he said, uh, what did he say about his brother?
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Hang on, I gotta scroll down.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: Uh while you're looking for that, uh my 14 my 14-year-old loves mounds and he likes peppermint patties and mints.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: That's according to 0136.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: He's got a discerning palate.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: I think that's the other thing.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: I think you're right.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: That yes, it is for the seasoned individual.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I think that you have to expose your kid to that.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: He uh I oh here it is.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: He goes, uh I used to tell my brother that Luden's cough drops were candy.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Um they taste like it.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Remember, it used to come, and I don't know if they still do or not, because I always try to get the like the VIX cough drops.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: But remember they came in the white box, which I mean, that seems like they would go bad really easily.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Because you open up the white box and it's that white paper on the inside.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: And they're just rolling around.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Barely anything is keeping them from like getting sticky and stale.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: And I don't know how those two things can happen simultaneously.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: How do you get sticky and stale?
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Well, look at me.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
