- 0:06Speaker 1: A lot of news breaking for September, and primarily it's
- 0:09Speaker 1: going to be looking SML twos today that will be
- 0:12Speaker 1: I think interesting in the terms of how they're going
- 0:15Speaker 1: to go forward, and it also could explode a few tokens,
- 0:17Speaker 1: So you guys don't want to miss it. My name
- 0:19Speaker 1: is Paul Bara. We'll come back into a tech path.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I want to thank our sponsor today and that is Coinbase.
- 0:23Speaker 1: If you are a brand new to crypto, this is
- 0:25Speaker 1: your first time to go out and purchase, or maybe
- 0:27Speaker 1: you are a crypto og and you're just looking for
- 0:29Speaker 1: a new exchange, check out Coinbase. All I have to
- 0:32Speaker 1: do is visit coinbase dot com. If you've never had
- 0:34Speaker 1: an account there. You can get up to two hundred
- 0:36Speaker 1: bucks in crypto just for signing up using our links,
- 0:39Speaker 1: So make sure and do that down below. It does
- 0:42Speaker 1: help the channel. I want to go into a few
- 0:43Speaker 1: points today, and we're going to get into the strategies
- 0:46Speaker 1: that are starting to shift around L two because there's
- 0:49Speaker 1: a lot of movement now and we're starting to see
- 0:51Speaker 1: some breakouts in terms of actual use case. One of
- 0:55Speaker 1: the things I want to just remind everybody is that
- 0:58Speaker 1: polygon Mattic is getting ready to shift over to its
- 1:01Speaker 1: news token and this will happen on September fourth. A
- 1:04Speaker 1: lot is going to occur when this starts to transact,
- 1:08Speaker 1: and of course one of the things that's going to occurs,
- 1:10Speaker 1: we're going to see some movement over here, I think,
- 1:12Speaker 1: on the token in general, so coinbase to support Pole.
- 1:15Speaker 1: But on eight twenty six, just here around the corner,
- 1:18Speaker 1: we'll be able to migrate the Polygon ticker from Mattic
- 1:21Speaker 1: two Pole on the Polygon network between A twenty six
- 1:24Speaker 1: and nine ten, So you'll have some issues with sending
- 1:27Speaker 1: and receiving will be disabled for Mattic on that network.
- 1:31Speaker 1: So mainly just to make that transaction. So if you
- 1:33Speaker 1: guys are out there doing that, just be aware of
- 1:34Speaker 1: that something's going to happen. And it's all about around
- 1:38Speaker 1: a project that he is called Aglaire, and I want
- 1:42Speaker 1: to go a little bit into what this is and
- 1:43Speaker 1: what it means. So take a look at this clip.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Our goal by the end of this year is to
- 1:49Speaker 2: have the ag layer being the top interoperability solution in
- 1:52Speaker 2: market fifty plus chains, both EVM and non EVM. We're
- 1:56Speaker 2: going to have libraries that let the ag layer be
- 1:59Speaker 2: deployed on all major blockchain architectures. I have here a
- 2:02Speaker 2: couple of op stack chains, right, I got Zora OPMA
- 2:05Speaker 2: net based mode, and if I wanted to go from
- 2:08Speaker 2: one to the other, it takes a long time. Right,
- 2:11Speaker 2: This simple action of send five USDC from base to
- 2:14Speaker 2: Zora and Minton NFT takes seven days and five minutes.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Let's compare this to the ag lare in vitu of
- 2:23Speaker 2: the ag lair which is coming later this quarter. It's
- 2:26Speaker 2: going to be brought down to about fifteen minutes, and
- 2:30Speaker 2: with the V three release early next year, we'll be
- 2:32Speaker 2: going down to the sub one minute sub hopefully fifteen
- 2:36Speaker 2: seconds range is when our current testing is shown, all.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Right, so this could mean a lot of changes on
- 2:42Speaker 1: even some of the biggest projects out there, including Salana
- 2:45Speaker 1: because FID answer, of course is which most likely we'll
- 2:48Speaker 1: see a little bit of an announcement coming up at breakpoint,
- 2:51Speaker 1: but that could be impacted. I want to go further
- 2:53Speaker 1: into this and get into a clip here that what
- 2:56Speaker 1: does aglare enable. Take a look, what is this mean?
- 3:00Speaker 2: You can actually start to do with it. I can
- 3:02Speaker 2: send five USDC from e to zk evm's unlike a
- 3:05Speaker 2: wormhole or a layers zero, there's no liquidity provider. You
- 3:09Speaker 2: don't have these inherent downsides that everyone else has. I
- 3:12Speaker 2: can deploy a governance payload, or I can trigger it
- 3:15Speaker 2: from something over on POS to a Star. But again
- 3:18Speaker 2: to be clear, this is done through the canonical bridge.
- 3:20Speaker 2: There is no additional trust assumption. I can take one
- 3:24Speaker 2: ether from ZKAVM and via the AG layer, not just
- 3:27Speaker 2: send it to iMX. I can then send it and
- 3:31Speaker 2: purchase in the same transaction, so we can start chaining
- 3:33Speaker 2: these together into incredibly complex operations. If we need b
- 3:38Speaker 2: I could take one hundred USDC from POS, send it
- 3:40Speaker 2: to libre go buy, which is an RWA chain, buy
- 3:43Speaker 2: a t bill over there, send that t bill over
- 3:45Speaker 2: to Canto, lever up against it to get notes, send
- 3:48Speaker 2: that to zk EVM, swap it for py USD, send
- 3:51Speaker 2: it to immutable to go buy a skin on a
- 3:53Speaker 2: ubiswap game. And all of that is exactly one transaction.
- 3:56Speaker 2: From the user's perspective, I could go from binance and
- 4:00Speaker 2: directly deposit into gains on a Star, one click, one transaction.
- 4:04Speaker 2: So this is a big deal.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Because right now most of the leaps and jumps through
- 4:08Speaker 1: hoops that you have to make when you're trying to
- 4:10Speaker 1: acquire certain tokens require a lot of these kinds of
- 4:13Speaker 1: maneuvers around wallets. All of that I think could be
- 4:15Speaker 1: changing with this now. Polygon talks about a partnership that
- 4:20Speaker 1: they're doing with Fabric and this is important because this
- 4:24Speaker 1: is where it could start to impede on Salana and
- 4:28Speaker 1: what Fiedancer is doing. Take a look.
- 4:31Speaker 3: It's the opinion of the ethereum community, and we share
- 4:34Speaker 3: in this opinion that zk is really where things are
- 4:38Speaker 3: going today. A ZKVM kind of runs at the speed
- 4:41Speaker 3: of a CPU back in the nineteen.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Eighties, right.
- 4:43Speaker 3: If we want to create an internet scale blockchain, we
- 4:46Speaker 3: need to fast forward more's a couple decades.
- 4:49Speaker 2: This is the VPU.
- 4:50Speaker 3: This is what we're building the VPU. It's not an
- 4:53Speaker 3: Ethereum mining chip. It's not a chip that only does
- 4:56Speaker 3: one thing. You can write code and the code can
- 4:59Speaker 3: tell the VP you exactly what to do. It's got
- 5:02Speaker 3: ten times the GPU in terms of big operations, which
- 5:06Speaker 3: are the most commonly used operations in cryptography. So we're
- 5:09Speaker 3: not just making a chip, we're making a whole server
- 5:12Speaker 3: that's going to go in data centers all around the world.
- 5:14Speaker 3: The most advanced cryptography machine on Earth. We plan to
- 5:19Speaker 3: scale to thousands of machines that we're going to be
- 5:21Speaker 3: shipping starting later this year, and this is the card.
- 5:25Speaker 3: This is going to be shipping. Ag Layer was waiting
- 5:27Speaker 3: for real time ZKAVM in three to five years. We're
- 5:30Speaker 3: planning to release this in six to twelve months in
- 5:33Speaker 3: close collaboration with the Polygon team.
- 5:36Speaker 1: All right, So that is big news because what you're
- 5:40Speaker 1: looking at there is a shortened cycle of where technology
- 5:43Speaker 1: evolution kind of goes from. If you just think about
- 5:45Speaker 1: what Nvidia is doing, what they're talking about is new
- 5:49Speaker 1: compute power for crypto. When you layer that in with
- 5:53Speaker 1: what's happening within Polygon, this is very interesting in terms
- 5:57Speaker 1: of being able to handle these transactions. One that may
- 6:00Speaker 1: benefit from this is Astar. So here's Soda talking about
- 6:04Speaker 1: one of the execs over there. He's basically saying that, hey,
- 6:07Speaker 1: we're going to drop a bomb very soon to move
- 6:09Speaker 1: the entire industry forward. So we could be seeing possibly
- 6:13Speaker 1: a computing evolution taking place all centered around what's happening
- 6:18Speaker 1: with Agla, Polygon, and maybe some things starting to move now.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Don't forget gaming is still already over there. This is
- 6:24Speaker 1: Wilder World with Aghilair. This is going to open this up.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And again remember Wilder World definitely on Polygon right now,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and they're also over at GAMESCN just in the sense
- 6:34Speaker 1: of we're seeing a lot more activity on Web three
- 6:36Speaker 1: in mainstream gaming events. So another good news going forward.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Here's an interesting one because this is one we've talked
- 6:44Speaker 1: about before Crescendo, and this is on Flow. This is
- 6:46Speaker 1: the most significant upgrade to the Flow network since its beginning,
- 6:50Speaker 1: and one of the things is going to happen guess
- 6:52Speaker 1: what's going to happen on September fourth, So very interesting
- 6:56Speaker 1: timing with all of this. If you look further into right,
- 7:00Speaker 1: here's a little bit of insight as to what Flow
- 7:03Speaker 1: will do. And this essentially starts to open Flow up
- 7:07Speaker 1: into what we're going to see in the Ethereum ecosystem,
- 7:10Speaker 1: which is going to really open up a lot of opportunity.
- 7:13Speaker 1: And I want to go to a clip here. This
- 7:15Speaker 1: clip goes into a little bit more on how Flow
- 7:19Speaker 1: we'll be able to integrate into more and more brands,
- 7:21Speaker 1: and I'll explain how this all works and why it's
- 7:24Speaker 1: important for every retail brand out there. Take a look.
- 7:26Speaker 5: All of a sudden, you want to start playing the game.
- 7:29Speaker 5: You go back bam, all of a sudden, you need
- 7:31Speaker 5: to have funds in your account to be able to
- 7:32Speaker 5: sign a transaction, and you're like, she, how do I
- 7:35Speaker 5: do that? You google it, You go to some like
- 7:37Speaker 5: payments on Ramp, You try to buy it, transaction failed,
- 7:40Speaker 5: You're like what. You end up getting on the bank
- 7:42Speaker 5: with your fraud department six hours later convincing them that
- 7:45Speaker 5: everything's okay.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Purchase.
- 7:47Speaker 5: You go back to the game, all your friends are
- 7:48Speaker 5: done playing. You're like what, Like, I was talking to
- 7:50Speaker 5: someone recently who wanted to work with a meme coin
- 7:53Speaker 5: on Flow. So they got the wallet, they went, they
- 7:57Speaker 5: deployed the contract, they got it listed on exchange, all
- 8:01Speaker 5: without paying a single dollar, and they were like, how
- 8:02Speaker 5: is this possible? How am I signing these transactions without
- 8:05Speaker 5: having to pay any gas fees? The reason for it
- 8:07Speaker 5: was because every application, even the wallet that they used
- 8:10Speaker 5: to launch or deploy that original contract, all of them
- 8:14Speaker 5: were sponsored using this proposer, and it allows companies to
- 8:17Speaker 5: have loss leader approaches. The price of Flow is so
- 8:20Speaker 5: cheap that virtually all of these companies are more than
- 8:23Speaker 5: willing to take on the fees themselves to provide seamless
- 8:26Speaker 5: user experiences for users that allows for mainstream adoption.
- 8:31Speaker 4: When it comes to account abstraction. You know, we Flow
- 8:35Speaker 4: launched with what was at the time the best user
- 8:38Speaker 4: experience in crypto with NBA top shot is use a
- 8:41Speaker 4: credit card or you could come and pay with bitcoin
- 8:44Speaker 4: or ethereum. But with one click they can link an
- 8:46Speaker 4: external wallet. They can take self custody over their assets
- 8:50Speaker 4: that they want and then take that wallet into a
- 8:53Speaker 4: universe of other Applicationsvitation count attraction is different on every network,
- 8:57Speaker 4: but on Flow because we're layer one, it's built at
- 9:00Speaker 4: the protocol layer and has been since since the launch
- 9:04Speaker 4: of the network, and so for twenty twenty four, we're
- 9:08Speaker 4: excited to basically invite the rest of the crypto community
- 9:11Speaker 4: onto Flow with with what will be the biggest network
- 9:14Speaker 4: upgrade since we launched the project. This lets us tap
- 9:19Speaker 4: into the liquidity that exists to the network effects, and
- 9:22Speaker 4: we're also starting to look at new kinds of products
- 9:27Speaker 4: that in particular start you know, with unchained logic and
- 9:30Speaker 4: then and then you know, ask ourselves a question, what
- 9:33Speaker 4: more can we do?
- 9:34Speaker 1: You're going to be able to go directly into the
- 9:36Speaker 1: exchange or I shouldn't say exchange into the blockchain with
- 9:40Speaker 1: a credit card or debit cards, so that will enable
- 9:42Speaker 1: a lot of onboarding going forward. If you look at
- 9:45Speaker 1: a couple of things here, I want to just show
- 9:48Speaker 1: this technology within flow scriptable interactions without smart contracts. This
- 9:52Speaker 1: is another scenario, and I want to highlight something that
- 9:55Speaker 1: they focus on right here. Pre impost condition based transactions
- 10:00Speaker 1: check the network state before executing. So, for example, a
- 10:03Speaker 1: grocery app could use preconditions to check inventory for item
- 10:07Speaker 1: pairs like salsa chips before a purchase. But this could
- 10:10Speaker 1: also flow into all things within a point of sale system,
- 10:17Speaker 1: any kind of retail integration that is going to be
- 10:19Speaker 1: writing on this that would enable these kinds of transactions
- 10:22Speaker 1: to occur. So essentially, what you're talking about is a
- 10:24Speaker 1: new almost a new merchant service type layer that's actually
- 10:28Speaker 1: tied into what's happening within the ecosystem of each individual brand. So,
- 10:34Speaker 1: I know, it sounds a lot more complicated and it
- 10:36Speaker 1: you know, typically this is kind of the case with
- 10:39Speaker 1: a lot of these early technology If you go back
- 10:41Speaker 1: and try to explain e commerce. You know, in nineteen
- 10:44Speaker 1: ninety six to two thousand, a lot of same scenarios.
- 10:47Speaker 1: But I think that's the phase we're in right now,
- 10:49Speaker 1: is we're going to see a big move for a
- 10:52Speaker 1: lot of brands going this direction. So here's Starbucks CEO
- 10:56Speaker 1: could reignite cryptofora and just remember Brian Nickel did a
- 11:00Speaker 1: few things over at Chipotle. He had some crypto promotions
- 11:03Speaker 1: over there. Remember bitcoin burials for bitcoin. He also did
- 11:07Speaker 1: by the dip game lost in Chipotle that was in
- 11:10Speaker 1: July twenty two. This gave away about two hundred thousand
- 11:13Speaker 1: and free crypto. So this is not new for major
- 11:18Speaker 1: executives that understand the shift in the generation. And that's
- 11:23Speaker 1: the thing I'm focusing on here because this is the
- 11:25Speaker 1: next generation of retail consumers. This is how they're going
- 11:29Speaker 1: to interact with brands. So just an example, here was
- 11:33Speaker 1: Chipotle's situation right here over on Reddit, and there was
- 11:36Speaker 1: badges and things like that. But a lot of people
- 11:38Speaker 1: were kind of giving up on this concept because a
- 11:40Speaker 1: lot of these brands have not completely implemented this just yet.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Now we're finally getting into some strategies that it might
- 11:47Speaker 1: be taking place. For example, this is a program that
- 11:51Speaker 1: is integrated into tech and eight, which is a gaming eCos.
- 11:54Speaker 1: We've talked about this on the show before. Go back
- 11:56Speaker 1: and watch some of our Starbucks and Chipotle's videos because
- 11:59Speaker 1: these are real, live, real world use cases and what
- 12:02Speaker 1: you'll be able to do with Chipotle, but for instance,
- 12:05Speaker 1: you're gonna be able to get merch you'll have the
- 12:07Speaker 1: potential for these medallions possibly tokens as long as well
- 12:11Speaker 1: as our rewards avatar integration. This is all web three talk,
- 12:16Speaker 1: so all Web three speak in the sense of how
- 12:18Speaker 1: this is going to integrate. The next layer is transactions
- 12:22Speaker 1: and once that is solved, which could be flowed could
- 12:24Speaker 1: be Polygon. We could see a few more getting in
- 12:27Speaker 1: the mix here along with Solana, depending on what happens
- 12:30Speaker 1: at breakpoints. So we are in the genesis of what
- 12:34Speaker 1: could be a huge breakout for consumer retail. So those
- 12:38Speaker 1: are the tokens you need. You guys need to be
- 12:40Speaker 1: watching for. Be on the lookout for, I think maybe
- 12:44Speaker 1: a layer to renaissance, so with especially what we're seeing
- 12:46Speaker 1: with Polygon, so be on the lookout for that. If
- 12:49Speaker 1: you guys are not tuned into our channel, right now
- 12:52Speaker 1: in terms of subscribe, make sure and do that also,
- 12:55Speaker 1: just like the video because it does help others find
- 12:58Speaker 1: their way over into the eco system of what's happening
- 13:01Speaker 1: in blockchain. Follow me on x app, Paul Baron, We'll
- 13:03Speaker 1: catch you next time right here on Techpath
