Latest / Connor with Honor: AI, Real Estate and Real Life / Fake Email to set up an Artificial Intelligence Account, is that a violation of the TOS?
Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Artificial intelligence has a lot of questions today.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: I did a seminar at the Southland Regional Association of Realtors, and one of the questions that came up I thought was very interesting, and I never really thought about it before.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: I've I've thought about it, but not pertaining to artificial intelligence.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Sometimes, when people go searching, I've had clients that do this, when they start their real estate search online, a lot of times they'll make a fake email address, something that typically they don't pay much attention to, or they're using it specifically for the purpose of doing something with regard to real estate, whether it's searching or getting home valuations or whatever.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: So their identity, at least to a point, is protected.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Now can that stuff be traced back with with all of the cookies allowed out there?
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Who knows what kind of what kind of bridges are established?
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: But the question was that.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: It was how can people protect themselves on a real estate standpoint when using these large language models?
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: And part of it kind of struck me as is that kind of memory with regard to how people used to search.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: When you're using something that isn't real, then your own stuff doesn't get bombarded.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: And most of the syndication sites where people are searching for residential real estate or looking for home values or reaching out, trying to get more information about properties.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Each one of those is built around lead generation.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: So the best thing that the system could do is lead generate in the best way possible.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: So what it's going to do, it's going to take that person their inquiry, especially if they go on there and they give up some of their anonymity and they they ask for something or they want more information.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: And some of the sites are kind of gated.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: They tease, they offer a few things for free so they can get a little bit of a taste, right?
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: And then they then they hit them with the, hey, put in your email here.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: And some people kind of said, all right, well, whatever, especially when they're looking for properties that are promised to be a very special, uh, pre-market listings, things that aren't on the market, pocket listings.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: They use all this clever terminology, which it's all BS anyway, but they use it just to try to get the information.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Then what they do at that next moment, once you give up your name and email, then of course they're going to sell it to agents that are paying for representation on that platform or paying for leads to the platform.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: You see these come about in some certification programs where people certain agents are quote unquote trusted or reviewed or have top marks in real estate.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Those are entire businesses that were that are built around trying to find you the best in the top and the most wonderful real estate agent.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: The price of admission to those is not factual-based data that shows the performance, but money.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: It's just money.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: You pay any one of those systems, and they're going to stick you on there at the very top.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: So you're the highest and most referred agent.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Does that work for business?
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: It depends on how well it scales.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: I think meta campaigns are much more effective in a lot of different ways.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Hell, even a Google Pay-Por-Click campaign can serve a definite purpose.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: So maybe that's something else to look at.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: So moving through though, I thought, well, you know what?
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: They're doing that.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's a good way.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: And it turns out that if you're just exploring whether you're going to get into the AI space with large language models, that's the ChatGPTs, the Microsoft Co-Pilots, the GROK, which is another another AI system out of OpenAI, excuse me, uh Elon Musk Company, XAI.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: And then other ones, and you have Anthropics Claude, if I didn't mention that.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Did I mention ChatGPT with OpenAI?
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Meta has something that you can use as well.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: So these are kind of all of the big players.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: The two top ones right now are Anthropics Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: ChatGPT was the one that kind of broke everything open back November of 2022.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: November 2022, I believe I have that right.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: That's when ChatGPT 3.5, I think, made its debut.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: And within a week, you know, they had a million people on it.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: And that's that's kind of one of the ones that's most used.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: If you're asking my opinion, they also asked that on the show today.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: It was either between Claude and, of course, ChatGPT.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Just they're kind of running at the very top.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Now, if you get a fake email address, something that you don't use, and there's a lot of places you can get these.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Gmail's one, Yahoo still exists.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: I think AOL, believe it or not, I think that's still out there.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: You can go to Apple, which would be me.com, all of these different platforms.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Now, I don't know, and do this at your own risk.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: I don't know if establishing something for the purpose of using a large language model is against the rules, their terms of service, whatever.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: You'll see that in the small print whenever you sign up.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: But I do know for most of them, almost all, in fact, you're gonna have to give up some kind of information to even get the free.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: And the free isn't gonna get you far.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: It depends on what you're using or what you're asking, but that's kind of the way to break into it.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: But ultimately, you're not gonna get a lot of memory, you're not gonna get a lot of time on the system or on the large language model, on the answer engine, you're not gonna get a lot of that for the free tier.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: But maybe that is a good place to start.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: With the other ones, I don't know how much research they're doing into you.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: If I use my regular Gmail account, which I did, I didn't hide anything.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: I just I went all in because I'm kind of looking at it from privacy, although it's just a beautiful idea.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure how much privacy really is applicable to where we are in this particular world with all the video, and very soon, to give you a little bit of caution, we're gonna be recorded all the time.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: There's no expectation of privacy in a public setting.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: So if you're in a supermarket standing in line, it could be within very short time the person behind you is gonna have a lapel video camera, the glasses, or whatever, and it's gonna be audio and video recording you.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be everywhere.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: I know that probably chaps some people wrongly, but that's something that people are going to do.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: They're gonna use this as a total immersive interactive world where they're gonna be communicating.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be like Pokemon Go on steroids where you're actually connected all the time.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: And if you have the glasses in that interface, who knows?
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Maybe people are gonna want to see their world different than what the real one is reflecting.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: So when you have the glasses on, it enhances or changes.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Or it's almost like getting those blue blockers right.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: They were really amazing when you put them on.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: But now these glasses are gonna have all sorts of fancy stuff going on.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: So when you look at people, maybe they'll be wearing funny hats or wigs, or maybe you're giving a speech in front of people and instead of maybe it'll show everybody kind of naked.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: I mean, not x-ray, real naked, but fake naked.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: Maybe that'll be the thing.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: And then thank God, then the people that get all tied up and nervous talking to a whole group of people, maybe they'll be able to talk and relax.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: But to set that up and start that first, that first introduction into one of these large language models, these artificial intelligence engines or artificial intelligence machines, maybe, maybe that's something that you can consider.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: It's going to know.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: And I don't know what kind of connection points, I don't know if it's going to come back to IP address, device, or whatever.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of very smart things out there.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: It's very hard to do anything secretive.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're trying to do this because you're trying to mislead or try to have it build you something that could hurt people, yeah, of course, that's against the law.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: So you can't do that.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: But again, this came up today.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: I thought I would share it.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: I thought it was interesting.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments on it.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Is is that even a good idea?
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: And I know that this has been realized.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: The bad people of the world, they they already have all of this planned out.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: It's it's those of us that try to do the best job we can all the time that these things pop in into a line of questioning and then we answer it.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: So what do you think?
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Is it proper to go out and get a fake email address to set up a large language model account with one of the big five?
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Is it against their terms of service?
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: Maybe you know more than me.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: I would love to hear in the comments.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor with Honor.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Thanks for watching, and we'll see you.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: Well, we'll see you in the next one.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Be well.
