- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to another episode of The Dogs Podcast.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: Josh, all your host here.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: On a Tuesday, I like to do these midweek episodes, usually a day or two remove from the game just to kind of gather some data information.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: From the previous game to talk about look back where things as bad as they looked, the answer is yes, but just a little spoiler alert there, but no, we'll dive into some of the numbers here today and some things we had Todd Monkins, press conference yesterday his first Monday post game presser.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that'll be a fun one to break down.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys didn't see it or hear it, wait till you hear some of these quotes.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's, um, I've got my concerns.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: for sure about Todd Munkin.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: But we'll get into all that.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk the quarterback, the freaking defense, my goodness, not good.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: Not a great way to start off the season for the Cleveland Browns for any football team.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: That was terrible.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: we'll get into it all.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: So Thursday, just to give you guys a little bit, again, a little heads up for the schedule for the season or season long schedule, Thursday will be preview show for the upcoming matchups.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: So this week will be previewing the Buccaneers.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: On Thursday, Sunday nights are always the recap show.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: The only except, well, two exceptions this year.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Thursday night football will probably do the recap show.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: I would guess Friday.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: the day after that one since it'll be a late end of that game.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then week three, the home opener, me, Justin, we will actually be up in Cleveland for the opener and, you know, trying to get in and out of Cleveland, get home, get settled.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure we'll be able to do a recap show that Sunday night on September 27th, so it would be then Monday, the 28th, if not, but
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: Mostly it'll be Sunday night recaps, Thursday night previews, and then either a Monday or Tuesday show like now kind of doing the midweek thing, talking about things that have come out since the previous game before I dive into everything, make sure you guys go to join the dogs.com.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you to all the new subscribers in there.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are awesome.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: We've been getting people coming in left and right, joining the dogpack community, hanging out with the best, die hard brown, brown sphans online.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: at join the dogs dot com sync up at the private discord jump in the conversation i mean if you're just if you want to get with like minded people the talk about this team to rant to complain to voice your opinion to get the frustration out that's the place to be so make sure you guys go to join the dogs dot com speaking of ranting and getting the frustrations out i mean i i i i i i i i i'll go through the press conference and stuff here in a minute but
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: No, no surprise.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Monkon says he anticipates to Sean Watson will be the starter again in Tampa Bay.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of weird.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: We go the anticipate route rather than a definitive.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's our starter.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're not letting one down game change thing.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like there to me, there's no confidence.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: zero.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: There is zero confidence from the coaching staff from the players.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: Um, anybody in this decision to continue to roll this bomb onto the field.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sorry.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to get a little heated here.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: I, as soon as I started talking here, I feel like I feel like coming out.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: Um, what are we doing?
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: What are we?
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: What are you guys doing, Cleveland?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: This is horrible.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: This is horrible.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: This is the worst stuff and you've put us through some shit guys, okay?
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: Brown's organization.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: You've put us through the frickin' ringer.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: This takes the cake.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is awful.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: I can't guarantee I'm not going to drop some F-bombs here, guys.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to try not to, I want to try to keep it.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: Keep it cool, family-friendly.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know if you got kids in the car or whatever with you listening.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: I hate to be that guy.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: But if I do, there will be, you know, this episode will be marked as explicit.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: I can't even get my words out, so at least you'll know ahead of time.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, okay.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: So here you know what I said I was going to wait a second I'm just going to roll over here now.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: So looking at this looking at this press conference so I anticipate the Sean Watson will be our starter.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: To hell you mean Todd you anticipate you anticipate.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: No I have no head coach for the Cleveland Browns
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: One and done, louder than Todd Monk and right now.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: We kind of talked about that whenever he first got hired.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen a lot of Browns fans say that.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: Before the Browns even took a single practice, there was a lot of, yeah, this is a one and done.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm even giving the guy a shot, calling him a one and done, right out of the gate, right out of the gate.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: And now we have one week of actual football in the field, and I think everybody who said he's a one and done is probably correct.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I don't want to over-react.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of what I say here today, a lot of what we said Sunday night.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm hoping we will look back and say, we over-reacted that.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: We over-reacted that week, one loss, we bounced back, we beat Tampa Bay.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we came home and beat the Panthers, we went to in one like things got better.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that's the case.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe it's gonna be the case.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: Sure would be nice, but,
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: you anticipate that the guy, you split 50% of the first team reps in a quarterback competition, the entire summer, you stood in front of the media at the podium day after day after day, gaslighting us, because that's what it was that this guy is the best quarterback on the roster.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: This guy gives us the best chance to move the ball and score points.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: We scored zero points on offense, Todd, zero points.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: You're offense with the Sean Watson at quarterback generated zero points in the competitive period of the game.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: We kept a fricking field goal just to not get shut out, thanks to Rehean Sanders taking the ball 74 yards on a return.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: We couldn't score even with the short field couldn't score.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: We were down what?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: What was it at that time?
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: 34 to nothing?
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: Something like that?
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: 31 nothing, I think?
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_04]: And we couldn't score.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_04]: And we couldn't score.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: The touchdown the end of the game, guys, I don't care.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care, that's great, great for Denzel Boston.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: Love to see the rookie get that first touchdown, make a big play, we'll talk about him a little bit more later as I go through some PFF stats and deeper metrics and things, but my goodness this.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I got voice mail to get to today, so I'm gonna try to speed this up.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing that I did want to talk about with this, okay?
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: So Todd Munker, I don't feel there's confidence in what they're or they didn't have the transcript up.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: Nah, that's lovely.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: Either way.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: So they sit down, Ronnie Hickman.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: uh... one of these select players to be available to the media yesterday and of course our wonderful Cleveland media who man i'll tell you what you're leaving me to you guys are garbage absolute guard they ask running hickman the free safety how he feels about the brown starting to shunwatson you know in temp temp a bay why are you asking him that what the what the hell does he have to do with that decision
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: He plays defense.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you asking him that?
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: What are you trying to do?
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: Trap him into a stupid answer, so you can clip it.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: You morons?
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: And Ronnie Hickman didn't give a shit about the question.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know what he said, which was very interesting.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: Because before Ronnie Hickman got up there, they had Raheem Sanders, the RB3 kick returner.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: And they asked him about the quarterback.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: Are you, we're asking the return man
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: Good job, Cleveland.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: This is the situation you've put us in.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: So, Ronnie, or he and Sanders give us a nice political answer about having a connection with Deshawn and blah, blah, blah, blah, forget what he even said.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: It was just a bunch of fluff.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: Ronnie Hickman gets up there and they ask him about the quarterback.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know what he says?
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: Straight face, it's beyond my pay grade.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's above my pay grade.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, not a, hey, look, we support our starting quarterback.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: We're getting ready for Tampa Bay.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: Boom, easy answer, easy answer.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: Whether you really do or not, it's pretty easy.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Those, those questions, that's why hate asking those questions.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: Number one, cause when you think they're gonna say, yeah, we hate to Sean, which he wasn't starting.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: What are we gonna do?
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's essentially what he said.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how I read it.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's above my pay grade.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: Mmm, sounds like somebody doesn't agree, which is interesting because if you get further into this, uh, press conference from Todd Monkin, let me find the quote real quick.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: This was the last question, so I'm kind of jumping ahead.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: The Todd Muckin was asked, I know you don't care what the fans say about the quarterback situation.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: I also know you care what the locker room thinks of the quarterback situation.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: So are you 100% sure that are you 100% sure that you have the right guy playing?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: That was the question.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: You don't care what the fans think.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: I get that, but you do care what the locker room thinks are you 100% sure that you have the right guy playing.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you remember back in April, posted this on social media today, shout out Cameron Justice for bringing this up.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Munkin was asked about, you know, who's going to win the quarterback competition.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: He said the players will have the players will ultimately determine who starts because it'll be the guy they believe in.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: That was what he said.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: The players will determine
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: So, yesterday, a few months later, are you 100% sure you have the right guy playing?
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: Todd says, I don't know.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: You'd have to ask every one of those guys.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: You said 100% and really to be honest, they don't have a choice.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: This is an a debate.
- 11:23[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so Todd Munkin is full of shit, guys.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he has been,
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: from the beginning, um, we saw it with this quarterback competition.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: He came in here saying, you know, I'd like to have a guy like to have the starter figured out by the end of the spring program.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: That didn't happen.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to have a guy figured out, you know, before the first preseason game, we didn't pick anybody until after the third preseason game.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: Or maybe it was leading up to that third preseason game either way, very late into training camp.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: which is another thing that cracked me up.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he was asked after he said about the Sean Watson starting in Tampa Bay for a guy that hasn't played in so long.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, is that one of the reasons why you're going to start him?
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: You want to see more than just one week.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: Toss has over sure.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's only been two weeks.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's gotten all the reps. That was your choice, dude.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: That has only been two two weeks that he's gotten all the reps.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's because you drugged this freaking thing out too long.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: How many times did I say on the show?
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I wanted to be Shador, but either way, you gotta pick somebody, the sooner you pick somebody, the sooner you can start getting ready for Jacksonville.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: You waited way too freaking long.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: Trying to use this as some excuse.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: He says something or he said, there were some really good things on film.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Some things that you can build on.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and there were some others that operationally, we got to get better at, okay.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: He says I think when Deshawn did have time, when he did understand the concepts, he didn't play tentative, and then he let it rip.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: So our our 10 year veteran, um, former Pro Bowl quarterback that we traded three first
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's good to know that when he has time and when he actually understands the concept he's not so bad great.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad that's the freaking bar Guys, I don't know what to tell you.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: It sucks.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: It sucks.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of had a loss for words at how bad this is you know, obviously
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is year 7 for the podcast, but obviously it's year 37 for me as a Browns fan.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: I've been through the 131 stretch.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: This is, you guys let me know in the comments what you think.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this is worse than 131 because this roster actually has some talent.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like there are some good players on this team and everything.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: You can't convince me otherwise.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: on Sunday was directly impacted by a lack of confidence in the quarterback.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: We saw it in 2024, okay?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't new.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: 2024, I was at the home opener against the Cowboys, okay?
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: We lost that game, I was at 33, 17, we lost this one, 34 to 10.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: It was, the scenarios are very similar.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: The Sean Watson didn't throw touchdown in that game until the very end, garbage time TD, same thing here.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: that game was horrible and being in the stadium where I remember I was with Justin were watching the players.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: You can see guys break the huddle Murray Cooper was the most visible.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: They would break the huddle in the body language.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: You can see the head roll.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm serious guys.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not exaggerating.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: You can see the head roll.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: You can see the slump shoulders, the kind of waxed days ago jogging out to line up.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: They don't believe in this guy.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I want to get at here.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: So they're lying to you.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to sit here and say, well, maybe they're lying.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they just, I'm going to tell you what.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: I believe full heartedly here.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns are lying to you.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Munkin is lying to you.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: The Sean Watson does not have the support of the locker room.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: Zero percent chance.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: No way.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely not.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: The coaching staff doesn't believe in him.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Todd Munkin believes in him.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: They are being told he has to play.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: This is not, this is an organizational decision.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: Whether, I don't know where it's coming from, which level who all's on board, but there's no way a competent coaching staff trying to win football games is putting that guy on the field.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: No way, 0%, don't believe it, at all, nope, not happening.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by SimplySafe.

- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys don't believe in what's going on out there.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now, am I saying that their poor performance is completely 100% tied to Watson?
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Now what I'm saying, those guys sucked ass on on Sunday, okay?
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: There's a bigger problem here with the defense.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's a team-wide thing of, like, just think about it as a fan, okay?
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: When you're watching the game, Sunday, and he throws an interception on the first drive on his third pass of the game.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: Did you feel like we had a shot?
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: How do you think the players feel?
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: If you as a fan are sitting there going, yeah, I got a chance in hell when in this game.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have a chance in hell competing.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: They knew that, they know better than we know it.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: They've seen them.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: They saw him throw all the interceptions in camp.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: They saw him never be able to see an underneath the fender.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys know, they went against him.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't just sit there and watch.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: They went against him in practice.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: They know he panics under pressure.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: They know he can't read a defense.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: They know he drops his eyes the second he sees an opposing helmet.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: What are we doing?
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: What are we freaking doing?
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough, it's tough, it's gonna be tough as long as he's out there.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: Don't get gas lit on social media by any of these people trying to tell you that the tape was good, it was not, the tape was not good.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you got Quincy Avery, his, you know, his best buddy quarterback trainer, whatever.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: Telling everybody, y'all, you guys are just doing this because you ate him.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: The tape was actually pretty good.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: No, wasn't good.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: No, wasn't unless you and Todd Monk and got some secret Zack Snyder cut of the freaking tape that nobody else got to see.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: It was terrible.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: He sucks at quarterback.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: Don't believe any of these people trying to defend him.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: don't believe the coaching staff don't believe any I don't believe anything the team tells me until things start to show me differently on the field I look at Todd Monk and like a clown I look at Mike Root and Bird like a clown right now you guys are joke you're joke absolute
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: This is why the Browns are the laughing stock of the league.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_01]: We got to deal with a third straight season now of the worst football watching of any fan base in this league.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: And all for what?
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: Because you think somebody in this 2027 draft class is gonna be your franchise savior and turn things around.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: You've got so many problems.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: And there, I have so many problems with a losing mentality.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: I was, that's why I wanna Kevin fired.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: Losing culture.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: it's infectious.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: It ruins guys.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: We have too many young impressionable ascending players to do this to.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: Please stop stop putting him in front of us.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: We're done.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: We're done.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: that's my little rant.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I already went too long.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: Quick news Dylan Samson likely going to be going to IR with a knee injury.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: Jeremy Fowler reported this earlier today or maybe it was late last night.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: knee injury could miss significant time.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: Don't know what the knee injury is.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't look good.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: He was on crutches at the end of the game after he came back out.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Browns do have Gileo McLaughlin on the practice squad.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: I would imagine he's the next man up, he'll be elevated for the practice squad, probably, uh, activated to the roster and all that stuff.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I like Gileo McLaughlin.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he's a fine replacement for Dylan Samson, um, not like they were really using him much anyway in the first game.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he had any carries, uh, caught a pass.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I don't even know, like whatever.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's really hard to evaluate what the Browns did on offense.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to, I'm about to go through some numbers here.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't run very many plays.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: We never sustained many drives.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: If any, we were three and out.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: So receivers didn't have an opportunity to do anything because the quarterback sucks.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: I, what are you going to do in the run game?
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: Defenses are like, because they're starting to show them Watson.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, I guess we'll just stop the run and win the game.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: It has pretty easy formula.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: Football's not hard.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, people like to tell you all football, so complicated, you know, there's all these playcalls and fun, the scheme, and all this, and that football's not hard.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's not rocket science.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's really not a hard game.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's not.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: There's some complexity to what coaches want to do and what players need to understand and learn about their positions and things like that.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: But overall, the concept of football, any very hard, your quarterback sucks, you ever just gonna stop you run.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: Game over.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: Game over.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, okay.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go into some of these numbers here.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: We will start with our lovely quarterback one to Sean Watson.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Again, like I said, we'll be the starter or at least anticipated to be the starter in Tampa Bay, whatever the hell that means Todd just, you know, and for everybody that said, Todd, munkens this Stratio, we love he's a football guy.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: Stratio to
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know, freaking joke right now and unless things change, these press conferences, his comments in front of the media, they're getting really ridiculous.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: And like I already said once, the dude is full of shit.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: full of shit.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: The Sean Watson 16 to 22 72.7% completion 205 yards touchdown in a pick.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: I told you guys, Watson was likely going to have a high completion rate because he's going to check the ball down most times.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's not going to push it past 10 yards.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: He had a super high time to throw.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's been the story of his entire career 3.43 damn near 3.5 seconds, guys.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: because all he did on every single play, panic.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: Pull the ball down, try to escape the pocket.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: The Sean Watson is not a pocket quarterback and I don't mean that like, you know, people will talk about, well, this guy's a mobile quarterback, this guy's a pocket pastor and all this stuff.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean that like that.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he literally cannot operate an offense from within the pocket.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: So your linemen are already at a disadvantage because they never have a clue where this freaking loser is going to be run into.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: We saw the play.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody you had, I know there's probably nobody watching this right now who has not seen the clip of Deshawn Watson taking a shotgun snap and then dropping back an extra eight steps.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: Turn into like a 13 yard or 13 step drop.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing?
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: He had a pressure to sack ratio of 33.3% fourth highest on the entire week in the NFL.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: So his scrambling, trying to escape the pocket, trying to make something up with his legs, it's pretty ineffective.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: One out of every three times you're getting sacked.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: talk about those facts here in a minute too.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: Very interesting information I got here.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: Dishon Watson was the lowest graded player on the entire offense per PFF, with a stunningly low, 37.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: The only players on the entire team who graded worse in week one were Aiden Huntington.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: East and Masquerina Sarnold, Mike Hall Jr. and Quincy Williams.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, very disappointed with the Quincy Williams debut here in Cleveland.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about that in a minute.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: Watson faced 15 pressures on the day six of them were his own fault running into his own pressure.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: Here you go, under pressure, to Sean Watson, three of six for 42 yards and a pick, under pressure.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: All three of us turn over where the plays are, should have been four, one of them didn't count because it was rolled down, lucky.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: Should have been four turn over where the plays were under pressure.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: So here's the sad part, and I want you guys to pay attention to this.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: When to Sean Watson was kept clean, not under pressure, kept clean.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_01]: He was 13 of 16 for 163 yards in a touchdown.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: Those numbers don't sound too bad.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you have to, and I argue with the wall, if you don't like this.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: You have to remove the late fourth quarter garbage time touchdown, because again, yes, that was a nice throw.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: That was a very nice throw.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: No pressure.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: Jaguars back up for the most part, you're not getting rushed by Heinz Allen, and Jerry White, I haven't looked, I guess I should go look at the tape, I doubt they were in on that plate because the game was over, Nick Mullins was playing quarterback.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: Too little too late, due to against the starters you freaking bum, I'm removing that play from this because during the real part of the game, when kept clean, 12 of 15 for 117 yards.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want to game like that.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's all you can do when you're not under pressure.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: Guys Trevor Lawrence was kept clean on just four more plays then Watson was and he used his clean pocket situations to go 16 of 19 for 183 and two touchdowns.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: So even when Watson is not under pressure, he's still not doing anything significant.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: Over 20 yards, he was just one completion for 25 yards.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: Again, removing the garbage time, give me at the end because that did not help us during the real game, during the real portion of that game.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: Just two completions, the entire game, and the intermediate area of the field.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: Just two for 33, and an interception, when targeting the intermediate area of the field.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: I said it a million times on this show.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: If you cannot effectively win in the intermediate area of the field, you cannot play quarterback in the NFL.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Period, full stop, you can't do it.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: If you can't win at any success in the intermediate area, you can't play.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: You will not be able to play quarterback in this league.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: The highest-graded offensive player, talking about some good news now.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, I'm gonna drop a, you know, some nuggets of good stuff in here for you guys.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't all bad.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: The highest-graded offensive player was rookie right guard.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: Austin Barber, third, round, rookie, right tackle coming out of college, moved to right guard like a freaking week ago.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: was the best player on our entire team on offense.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: 82.6 grade is entire line was
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: Excuse me.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: His entire grade line on PFF was very impressive.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: It was impressive for a alignment period.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: Let alone a rookie in his first start.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: 78.2.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: Runblock.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: 83.2.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: Passblock.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: He was the highest graded rookie offensive lineman in the entire league in week one, allowed just one pressure the entire game.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: Just, I will clap it for you, Austin Barber.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: Austin Barber, you want to talk about a guy who wasn't supposed to start the season was never even in the running to be the starter at Reyguard.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: It was KT Loveston and Tevin Jenkins going clear back to the sprint.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about Austin Barber, potentially moving to guard.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: The day he was drafted, like Jake Burns, Brown's film break down.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: Anybody who's really like plugged in here,
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: and evaluating these college prospects, looking at what they could be in the NFL was saying, Scott might be able to play guard at a pretty high level.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: He was a good tackle in college, very good tackle, but his size limitations and some of that stuff would make him a very good move to guard.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the Brown's finally caught onto that and did it like two weeks ago.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, he got a little bit of run in a preseason game of right guard.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: Look pretty good.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: He graded out real high, all this stuff.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: Kevin Jenkins, out she bib, I'm heard again.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_01]: Just forget that guy.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm done with him.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: Why we're getting thrust into the starting lineup.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: and becomes the highest graded player on the entire offense in week one.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: So, good job Austin Barber, Elkton Jenkins, also fantastic in past blocking, just so so in the run game, Jenkins allowed zero pressures, and then Zion Johnson was also good.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, he had the two penalties.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: He was penalized just four times all of last season, already had two here in week one.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's not good.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: But overall, Zion Johnson grated well in both paths and run blocking.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: He also only allowed one pressure.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: So only two pressures allowed the entire game by your interior offensive line.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: Those three guys, the issues came from the tackles and again, not all their fault.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: The Sean Watson's taken a mile back drop.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: We have no idea where the key is back here.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: It is easy, a hunt and season for these edge
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna run 10 yards behind the line.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: Boom, we're coming straight for him.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: Where did the tackle supposed to do?
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you're facing two very good edge russures.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: Two very good guys.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Heinz Allen, Trvon Walker, Fano Howard, each allowed three pressures during that game.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: But here is the stat that was super interesting as I was going through all the numbers after the game.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Looking at PFF's chart for the offensive line, it shows zero sacs allowed by the offensive line.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: Wait a minute, the Sean Watson was sagged five times, right?
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: Correct, he was.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: That means PFF is attributing all five sacs to the quarterback, all five of them.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: Not one of those
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: that's pretty interesting.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: So the line wasn't the issue.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: There were opportunities provided to this quarterback and he panics.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: The second he sees a black helmet in his field of vision.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: If his first read is covered, the play is dead.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's over.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: Forget it.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's dropping his eyes and trying to out-athlete everybody else which he cannot do because he's now 31 years old.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: This is, this is just absolutely ridiculous, guys.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: Run game, bad.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: Bad, Judkin's just 2.8 yards per carry.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: We only ran the ball 13 times in the game, not counting all of Watson's, you know, frantic scramble's and stuff like that.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: So actual design, running back, runs carries, just 13 of them in this game, not good, receiving.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: So receiving is tough to talk about, not, like I said, not many opportunities here for anybody.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I saw a stat I can't I haven't been able to go back and find I need to do a better job of saving these things as I'm scrolling and finding these things.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think Denzel Boston had like the highest open rate on the entire week is something like 44%.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um, if you guys saw that or know what stat I'm talking about let me know, but I did see this one then.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_01]: This data was from fantasy points, separation scores on the weak.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: KC Concepts D on how to point 182 that was the eighth highest separation rate in the NFL.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: Denzel Boston had a point 111, which was 15th best.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: So we had two top 15 receivers in separation.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: And then Harold fandom was at a point 095, which was seventh highest among all tight ends.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: So there you go, our Skull Guys were doing their part.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: Quarterback is not.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: Sol several plays, watch some Browns Film Breakdown, clips and things like that.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: Guys are open.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: They're open.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: He just doesn't, he just doesn't see him.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: Just doesn't see him, or if he does, it's too late by the time he does.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: or he throws it, you know, five yards too wide out of bounds on a throw to Jerry Judy on the sideline that should have been an easy completion easy first down.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't way to punt.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Just bad.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: Just bad stuff.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, KC was four for 43 did have the fumble.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: That sucks.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: You can't have that.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's a rookie in his first game, trying to make anything happen.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like, please, we're desperate as a team.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, just makes something happen.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: The balls in my hand, I'm gonna do it.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna make it happen.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't blame him.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he'll learn, he'll learn, gotta hold on to that ball.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he got a punch out.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like he was, you know, dangling it out wide or anything like Watson does.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: he was, you know, and just got punched out.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: It happens.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he's a rookie.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: He'll get better.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not worried about him.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: Don't go hate crazy.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: Jersey Justin Casey is going to be just fine, buddy.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry about it.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Casey ran 67% of his rouse from a slot.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: Boston was 90% outwide.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: Harold Fanon Jr. was in the slot on just six plays.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: The entire game.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: This one's interesting.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: just 22% slot snaps for Harold Fanon, who operated at 40% over all of last season.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of concerning.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: I, I don't want to overreact too much to one game, but I'm really questioning this offense, the coaches, all of that right now.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: I just, do they really know what they're doing?
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough because Jacksonville's a good team.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: but we look so inept in everything that, it's hard not to just go straight to, well, this could just be a one and done for this staff because they look completely outmatched in every fast so the game.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: I guess on the positive side, we had zero drop passes in the game.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: So that's cool.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: Again, not many opportunities to go around Jerry Judo and I had like what three targets are something.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: So give a given seven targets.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure he'll drop one of them.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: At least if it's anywhere close to his hands.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: Never know coming from Watson, but at least we know we didn't make matters worse on offense by dropping passes.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm whatever.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: I guess that's a good thing.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: Defense.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh gosh.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: Overall.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: Bad.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: Just.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: so bad.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: Most of the players on defense graded below a 60 on PFF, which is pretty poor.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: We only had two starters.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: This is the big deal for me.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: Only two of our 11 starters graded above a 60.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: Denzel Ward, greatest fantastic at a 90.5, Mason Graham played well.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: He was at a 63.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: Our rookie, a manual, McNeil Warren, graded out of the 69.2.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: That was the third highest player on the entire defense.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: So good for him.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Munkin said he thought the defense tackled well.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: That was one of the quotes from his press conference.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: That was pretty interesting.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: They had 13 missed tackles on the day, Todd.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: So that's not true.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: Khaled.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think we watching tape, he said he didn't watch any of the Sean Watson previous tape with the Browns, um, I don't know, maybe I believe that because why how else can you put him out there and expect it to be any different?
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Todd doesn't watch Tate thinking that we tackled well on defense.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: We sure as hell did not.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: Miles Harden.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: Terrible.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: I called bull crap on this team saying that they were confident in Miles Harden.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: Being their CB3 slash nickel corner, he is absolutely not good.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: He was targeted four times, allow four catches for 54 yards and a touchdown.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: He is going to continue to get picked on when he's on the field because he sucks.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like just berating our players unless they deserve it.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: Miles Hardin is awful.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: awful.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: Get him off the field.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: I say that but then again who you're going to replace them with.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: We got no depth there.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: Good job Andrew Barry roster building genius Ronnie Hickman bad this game Quincy Williams looks like the worst player and coverage of this game gave up four catches for 59 yards.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry guys.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: I was so excited for some of these players on defense.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: And the fact that it was pretty much the entire defense that suck tells me that it might not just be the players themselves, there was a lot of scheme stuff.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: I should have had the numbers I didn't write them down.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: They ran way more zone on Sunday than they did all last year.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: This was primarily, if I remember correctly, like a man covering defense last year, which Tyson Campbell, so good in man.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: And the defense did so well.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know if that has to do with losing miles.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: Garrett, not having the pressure up front, cause Jared, verse suck too.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but across the board it was just, it was just bad and guys didn't cover well.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: The guys I, like I said, the guys I was excited about Quincy Williams, terrible first game.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: terrible.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: Jared verse first game, like nothing, no pressures.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think he had four tackles, like nothing.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: It was very disappointing, just very disappointing for this defense.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing that gets me is that these are players that have played very well at a high level in the past.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's a one-game sample this year.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe everything changes in Tampa, and we have a much different conversation next week.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: But after just the one-game sample, I questioned my Grootenburg.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_01]: Is this guy a defensive coordinator?
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's never been defensive coordinator before.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: He was the passing game, defensive passing game coordinator last year for the Falcons.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't know, guys, I didn't look at it.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: I know Jared versus a good player.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: I know Quincy Williams is a good player.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: I know Tyson Campbell is a good player.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Ronnie Hickman is a good player.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: If everybody, uh, Malie Collins, who I'm going to talk about, yeah, in a minute, like I, these are good players.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: If everybody's playing poorly, well, that might go to the coaching and the scheme and the situations that they're being put in.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: Run defense, Sam Williams, who we just signed off waivers or whatever from the Cowboys, great actually the highest on the team and run defense, 85.3 over 14 snaps.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: Ronnie Hickman, much better against the run than he was in coverage, Derek Barnett, Isaiah McGuire, Mania McKinill Warren, he's guys graded out very well against the run, actually Malik Collins, who I just mentioned, and Mike Hall were two players that graded the worst against the run.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: So that's surprising to me, at least for Malik Collins, after last year he was so good against the run, hopefully he continues to improve as he gets back from the injury, but all and all.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: just is not good.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: It looked like, um, I think Carson's sweaten just still hurt.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he did have 10 tackles on the day.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: He missed a few.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think he had like three missed tackles or two.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_01]: Something I forget what it was.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: Um, of those 13.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: But his injury status is something to watch.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: Because we got we got first practice is on Wednesday tomorrow.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have a practice report or an injury report after practice from Wednesday.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: There's a Friday.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: I would not be shocked to see Carson Swesinger either as a limited or a full DNP starting right off the bat tomorrow on Wednesday day off day of rest whatever
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's a guy that I could see being very limited in practice across the board moving forward if he's not fully ruled out of games.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't look good.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't look right.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: I guess is what I'm trying to say.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: Carson Swesinger does not look healthy.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's got that for exactly what Charmed is, but he's got that brace, the thing on the upper arm, for the shoulder, like
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: So to me, as soon as he took the field, I'm like, oh, that's, he didn't wear that last year.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: I know he's still hurting to be wearing that out there.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: And it looked like his arm was just kind of dead.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes just hang in there, dangling, didn't look.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't look healthy.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: concerning.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of the deeper metric, the stats here that I want to get into about this team from the other day.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: Let's take a quick break, come back with your voice males.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't even listened to them yet, so I'm very curious to see what you guys have had to say since Sunday.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing against the house.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: So if you think the public is wrong and the Browns can make the playoffs in Todd Munkins first year, or Casey Concepcion, Denzel Boston, one of those guys can win offensive rookie of the year.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: You can take the other side of the market and then if you're right, that's a big payout for you.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just sports either.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: It works like this.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: Simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: So if you trust your
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: So use our link in the description or just head over to calshy.com slash dogs, KAL, SHI.com slash dogs, DAWGS to earn up to $500 when you trade 25.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: Calshy.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: Because why shouldn't you guys get paid for being right?
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, thanks for sticking around.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, our first voicemail today is from Nolan.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, this is Nolan.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_04]: This is my first time calling into anything to talk about the Browns, but I'm curious what your guys' thoughts is.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_04]: The defense, offense, everything, looking this bad, because no one is motivated.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_04]: to play with the Sean Watson because I don't think anyone in that building wants to actually play with Watson.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_04]: They're just doing it because they spent all this money on him and now you have all these guys that are just stuck knowing that nothing's going to come of it.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_04]: So here's the here what you guys think is I don't get to watch the game but I can't imagine having to play for
- 45:33[SPEAKER_04]: or have my quarterback be someone like Sean Watson.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_04]: So here's see what you guys think.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you guys for the show.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_04]: Love it and go dogs.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_04]: Woo hoo.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_01]: Nolan, thanks for the voice mail.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_01]: Really glad that you decided to call in for the first time.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: Love hearing from people for the first time.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's really cool.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I definitely answered your question earlier in the show.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I wish I'd have heard your voice mail sooner.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: I would have played it back then.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I'd just to reiterate.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, you cannot convince me that this team actually believes in to Sean Watson and that the player's 100% support him, uh, Todd Munkin, as far as I'm concerned, more or less confirmed that the other day, whenever he said, um, he doesn't really care if the players are 100% on board with Watson being the quarterback, because they don't have a choice.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_01]: His words, they don't have a choice.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: Well, dude, your locker room is about to get real pissed off if you say if you keep saying stuff like that.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: I, that was such a weird quote for me to hear him say that they don't have a choice, which kind of tells me he doesn't have a choice.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_01]: So no, I'm with an all in 100% yes, I don't think anybody believes in him and I do think it's, I do think it's impacting the performance of everybody across the board because that's just reality.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't believe in your leader, the guy leading the team,
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's really hard to go out there with that full faith of, we can do this.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: We can pull this off when it's like, I've seen this guy all summer long.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: There ain't no way in hell over when in this game.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: It does have an impact, absolutely.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, next voice mail, this one is from Thriller.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_08]: Hey guys, Thriller from Canada, I'm going to need you to put an E for explicit language on this voice mail, because Deshaam Watson was absolutely hot garbage today.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_08]: The penalties were a big problem and
- 47:30[SPEAKER_08]: It gave me like nightmares a few years ago when it was just penalty after penalty after penalty and that goes back to the coaching staff but it also goes back to the fact that Deshawn Watson can't get fall off and the small amount of pressure and he panics like it was just terrible to watch.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_08]: I did not watch the whole game like
- 47:58[SPEAKER_08]: can only take so much.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_08]: What else, I think, if he's caught note there for the first home game, the fans are going to absolutely eat him alive, Josh.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_08]: I do not think that they put him out there for the first home game in at first energy.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_08]: I could be wrong.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_08]: I think he plays the next game and then that's it.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_08]: Sanders is coming out for game game three.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_08]: Anyways, that's it, and I can't even say go browns right now, like that was just pathetic today.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: All right, thriller.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, man.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I think you speak for most browns fans.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_01]: And when I say most, I mean, like freaking all of us, that was horrible.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's, it's, it's so hard to watch.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I've heard from so many people that are like, well, you know, turn it off after half time or a little bit in the third quarter, one out day, you are word got some stuff done.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's just been the story
- 48:55[SPEAKER_01]: will they try to show on Watson out there at the home opener now we'll see how bad things go against Tampa Bay I think they were like two and a half point favorites before week one it has now moved to eight and a half last night check so take the bucks because it will be more than that
- 49:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know guys.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_01]: So here's my thought.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_01]: Here's my thought.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm watching the game on Sunday and I'm saying to myself, there is no way.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way in hell.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_01]: They're putting this guy out there in front of the home crowd.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way this game is so bad.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: Next week's going to be just as bad if not worse.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: How, how, how, how you you are inviting chaos into that stadium.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: onto your players, not just him, but on to everybody is going to feel the effects of the most violently pissed off crowd you've ever seen in your stadium.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: I still think they do it.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the ruler I do and here's my reasoning one, they're stupid.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's just number one.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: They, um, they're tone deaf.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: as an organization, they're stubborn, they're arrogant, against stupid, they're very stupid.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: And they think, they're smarter than everybody else.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: For whatever reason, they're unable to just accept the whole cost fallacy of the Sean Watson, like yet moved heaven and earth, yeah, empty the vault to get this guy.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: And it was the biggest mistake you've ever made.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: Just accept it and move on.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: We thought they were doing that when Jimmy has them called him a swing and a miss, but apparently their hell bent on trying to get the most out of what, whatever they can out of this.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: Moving on from your starting quarterback after two weeks is just also this is, that's admitting that you were wrong and that's something this team is not good at doing.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: clearly.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's too much pride and arrogance for them to actually do that.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: That would be admitting that we wasted the entire summer.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: Waste it.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: Just absolutely pissed it down the drain.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: We should have just been getting Eastador Sanders ready the entire time.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: And then we would have been further ahead than where we are right now.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: But we decided to dig around, split the reps, give as much opportunity this guy as possible.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_01]: Name him the starter.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: Come out here and gaslight the fan base and tell you guys a million times over and over and over.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: Please believe us.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_01]: We're we swear.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's the best quarter.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: He gives us the best chance.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_01]: Sitting him down after two weeks is openly admitting that all of that was wrong.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: You were wrong about all of it.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: they won't do it, they won't do it.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you right now, I hope I'm wrong because I'm going to the home opener and I don't want to watch this.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to, I know Blake was laughing like, I'd love to be part of that chaos.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I want to go enjoy my time.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go enjoy my time.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: I get to hold the American flag before the game.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be awesome.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a fun, freaking day.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: Don't ruin it by putting him out there.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: But they will.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_01]: So what I'm saying, that it's going to happen.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna happen.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be interesting.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: I will have some interesting perspectives for you guys after the home opener because I will be there.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: But it's gonna happen.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: Counting is just saying.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: Thriller, get ready.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: Get, freaking ready, they will do it.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, next voice mail, this one is from Grant.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, it's your board grant and Northwest Iowa.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_05]: I've called them before.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_05]: I just seen you guys post.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_05]: It's 913 Sunday night about Andrew Barry and the possibility of the Sean Watson being extended.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_05]: After today's performance in previous years, I'm just going to say it if if Deshawn Watts it is not off the team, or at least like a looks like he's going to be off the team by the end of the season.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_05]: I'm done.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_05]: I can't do this anymore.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_05]: This is ridiculous.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_05]: We know like we all have to know not just to general public with the guys in the office.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_05]: We have to know that Deshawn is not the answer, right?
- 53:32[SPEAKER_05]: Like my goodness, can we can we
- 53:34[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just done.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_05]: If the shot is not off the team, come post-June deadline cuts and all that crap, I'm done.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_05]: I can't do this anymore, so I guess this is it.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_05]: Go Browns for now.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Grant, I, I'm glad you kind of changed course a little bit during that voicemail.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: I know you said if he's not off the team by the end of the season, I was like, oh, boy, you're going to be in for a rough time then, but yes, by the post June 1st cuts because if you guys follow Jack Duffin on Twitter, he's got a daily countdown.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_01]: Today marks 177 days until Deshawn Watson is officially off the roster.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_01]: So, or at least until he's officially designated as a post-June first cut.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: 177 days, it is coming.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: It will happen and he will never play football in the NFL ever again, because he's done.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's done.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_01]: No one will ever give him an opportunity.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I'm so disappointed with how this whole thing has turned out for the Browns.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm disappointed with Deshawn Watson's inability to accept any sort of accountability.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_01]: I've said it before.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say it again.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a complete and absolute narcissist.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't think anything is his fault.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's got an excuse for everything.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: He'll sit there and hold straight up lie to you.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: Tell you all, I thought I got that bowl over the line back.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't freak and see the line back, or Deshawn.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_01]: full shit.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: You and Todd, you guys are both full of shit.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_01]: Just like Kevin was full of shit.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, this organization.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: Grant, thank you for the voice mail.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_01]: Hang in there, man.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: We got a long way to go.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: We can do this as Brown's fans.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: We've been through crap before.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_01]: We'll go through crap again and we're like cockroaches.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_01]: You can't kill us.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: Jimmy, try as you might can't kill us.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: We're here.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the voicemail grant.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we've got Malachi up next.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_07]: Yo, what's up, guys?
- 55:31[SPEAKER_07]: Malachi here.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_07]: Just wanted to come on here and talk about our usage of zone coverage and what the hell is going on.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_07]: Right, to be honest, I have no idea what's going on.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_07]: Because last year, we used last two to three years since sorts has became the coordinator.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_07]: We've used man-and-man defense more than anybody.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_07]: And now all of a sudden, we're at this ridiculous percentage of some coverings.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_07]: If I'm Mark Rittenberg, I don't know how you look at that and be like, oh, we're going to play zone.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, much.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_07]: like it just drives me nuts.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_07]: I'm just saying at the end of last year we had DeAngelo Ross guarding Jamar Chase on 34th down in a big spot.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_07]: In DeAngelo Ross walked him up.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_07]: I'm just saying like if DeAngelo Ross nope, no offense to DeAngelo Ross but it guys the pressure last year and like I just don't get it.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_07]: I know our pressure today was awful but
- 56:33[SPEAKER_07]: Take what you're good at and then just let it go away.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_07]: I just don't get it fellas.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_07]: What are we doing?
- 56:38[SPEAKER_07]: Go Browns, baby.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_01]: Meli Kai, thanks for the voice and I'm going to hear from you again, man.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I kind of already talked about that too.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_01]: The coverage, the defensive scheme.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to say.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: It really is hard to say what they're thinking, what they're doing or trying to do.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I had the full transcript of Ronnie Hickman's press conference yesterday because I believe he was asked about this and I think he said something to the tune of like
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they had like what about running so much man or zone coverage and that the scheme defense from or scheme differences, sorry, from last year to this year.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_01]: And kind of like when he was asked about the quarterback, he said, you know, that's about my pay grade.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_01]: When he was asked about the differences and running such a different look defense this year or at least in week one, he said something like, um, I don't call the place.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like you got to ask, you got to ask the coach like I don't call the place you can tell these guys are not happy with what's going on and it's week one
- 57:43[SPEAKER_01]: So, Yikes!
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yikes!
- 57:46[SPEAKER_01]: Malachi with you buddy.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_01]: Um, man.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: It just keeps getting more and more interesting here in Cleveland.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the voice mail.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_01]: Next up, we've got Jack.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, guys.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_03]: I expected Dashon Watson to look bad, so that didn't really make me that upset.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_03]: But why is a defense running 70% zone coverage when last year, we were at top defense and we ran mostly man?
- 58:18[SPEAKER_03]: I just, I don't get at all.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right, well, that couldn't work out any better.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I just, I'm just going through voicemails in the order and what you guys send them.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: So Jack apparently, he just, right there in the same wavelength, brain length with Malachi on that one.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, dude, I don't know.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what they're doing.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see, I don't know if Mike Root and Berg will talk to the media today or if it'll be like tomorrow.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_01]: He should be in front of the media at some point this week.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the last came about that.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_01]: I would imagine that the media will.
- 58:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure it'll be like, hey, Mike, remember, what do you think about the quarterback then?
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: Quit asking people about the quarter perk you idiots.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, right, hit our media so.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: Much, I hate him.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_01]: I hate him.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_01]: Who?
- 59:04[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, they're freaking stupid.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I just thank you guys for calling and leaving voicemails.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you, Jack.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: Same answer I gave to Malachi there.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I don't know, man.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody's gonna have to ask him, get some clarification.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see if it changes in week two.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_01]: That'll be a big thing.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm interested to see how does this team adjust?
- 59:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to do a preview show on Thursday, like I said, for the buck and years game in the big theme of that show, the big thing for me for this week is rebound or not not rebound response.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think I guess because rebound would be the result response is the action.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_01]: How does this team respond to what we just had to watch on Sunday?
- 59:50[SPEAKER_01]: How does Todd monkey in the coaching staff respond?
- 59:52[SPEAKER_01]: How does how do the adjustments, what are they doing?
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: How do the players respond?
- 59:56[SPEAKER_01]: How does the Sean Watson respond?
- 59:57[SPEAKER_01]: How does the running game and how do we respond?
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be very interesting to see.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_01]: We will get into all that, but next we've got a voicemail here from Angelo.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_02]: Hey guys, Angelow here, been listening for about two, two and a half years.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, I just get right into it.
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what monk saw or what they showed him that looked really, really good, because if it's what I saw and we all saw, it looked terrible.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_02]: It was the most abysmal thing.
- 1:00:26[SPEAKER_02]: I would have rather watched Dylan Gabriel stroll out there last year and absolutely blow it against the jets.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think going into week two we're going to get our butts kicked again and we look forward to bottle gate part two.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully that'll do something for the hazelnuts, they'll see that you know the fans here in Cleveland don't play around when it comes to our football team and maybe just maybe we'll make some ground on finally getting a quarterback for the city of Cleveland.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_02]: Go Browns!
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for calling in, Angela.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'd rather watch Bernie Cozar go out there and play quarterback in the NFL right now than to Sean Watson.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I would take Dillon Gabriel.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_01]: And you guys know how I feel about Dillon Gabriel.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_01]: Hell, shit.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_01]: I would take Tailing Green.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: And you guys know how I feel about Tailing Green.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_01]: He ate ready to play NFL football.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_01]: You can't throw the ball.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's not very good.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's better than to Sean Watson, guaranteed, lock it in.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_01]: This guy is absolutely the worst quarterback in the NFL, and he shouldn't even be on an NFL roster.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_01]: And he wouldn't be if we weren't financially contractually locked into having him on the roster.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_01]: He would not be on an NFL roster right now.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad he is.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_01]: That is how bad this situation is for the Browns.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_01]: We are starting a quarterback.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_01]: who should realistically not even be in the league.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_01]: Just wrap your heads around that one, guys.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_01]: Angelo, appreciate you, Matt, thanks for calling in.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_01]: We've got looks like two voicemails here to wrap it up and they are both from Stacy.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, guys, it's Stacy.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_00]: Just wanted to make a quick voicemail to react to that awful game we had this past Sunday.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_00]: First off, I just feel like Todd Munkin.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, it's your first game coaching.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_00]: I understand there's going to be some pickups this that the other, but
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_00]: Someone in his family, a friend, a loved one, somebody has got to tell this guy, don't you realize the more you start to Sean Watson, the more this fan base is going to absolutely hate you, and the more you're going to continue to get questions about Shidorah Sanders, why don't you just rip the bandaid off and throw the guy out already, nobody wants to see him play, nobody thinks he's good.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_00]: And it's enough like enough with the lies.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_00]: We don't think that he's good.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's clearly awful.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's on tape like how long are you going to make us go through this torture weekend and week out.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_00]: It just somebody's got to talk to the student.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_00]: I know he's not that stupid, right?
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
- 1:02:57[SPEAKER_00]: Anyways, defense.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my, awful, awful, that was one of the worst performances I've seen minus I mean no it was it was close to the ones last year with like the Vikings and landing them catch up and a couple other ones that we let slip through our hands but defense really needs to get it together I have nervous for next week, guess we'll just have to see what happens.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let me guys
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they see the whole thing and I'll get to your second voice down here in just a second, see what you have to say there.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Todd Munkin has a choice, guys.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_01]: The situation really is starting to feel like a stop gap higher, they went and got the only guy who was willing to start to shun Watson, because if you remember,
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_01]: We were going through the head coaching process.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_01]: We had all these candidates.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_01]: We were interviewing.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then all of a sudden it was like, this guy withdrew.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_01]: This guy withdrew.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_01]: This guy's out of the race.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_01]: This guy doesn't want any part of the Browns withdrawal withdrawal withdrawal.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_01]: Mike McDaniel could be a head coach here.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_01]: No, he went to be an OC somewhere else.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, guys are just like, I'm out.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm out.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_01]: And this is probably why.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_01]: And Todd Monkin waited 60 years to be a head coach.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_01]: And he was like, look, I'm going to take my one and only opportunity that I've ever been given.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_01]: to be a head coach.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_01]: I use say I have to start to show on Watson.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, if I don't care, I will take the job because I want to be a head coach.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_01]: This is a stop gap higher.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I'm overreacting here to week one.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_01]: Things could completely change next week.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_01]: So you can come in here and call me hip curtain next week.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm changing my tune, whatever, after one week, I don't think there's anybody that's going to call me crazy.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_01]: I would say most of you guys have been a women.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_01]: So in this for months, stop gap higher.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_01]: and until next year when we get our quarterback in the draft and we get the head coach we actually want.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's how this looks, that's how it feels.
- 1:04:54[SPEAKER_01]: The organization is telling you with their actions.
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_01]: They don't want to win.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a, I'm not saying like the players in the coaches because the players in the coaches, we have this tanking conversation all the time.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_01]: The players in the coaches don't tank.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_01]: Players in coaches want to win because it's their job, it's their stats, it's their career that are on the line every week when they go out to play.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_01]: So players in coaches don't tank front offices in ownership, they do tank.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_01]: And it seems like that's the path the Browns are going forcing us to start the Sean Watson yet again, knowing
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, at least we'll get off to a bad start and it'll be a hard hill to climb for, you know, Shador Sanders or whatever.
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what they have against Shador.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to go down that path right now on this episode because I'm kind of running out of time anyway, but like do they just are they just afraid that there's going to be success there to the point where we won't get the arch manning that the ownership really wants.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, guys.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: We can speculate all we want.
- 1:05:57[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't understand why they drafted the kid.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't, I really don't, but whatever.
- 1:06:05[SPEAKER_01]: Stay, yeah, defense was absolutely just toast.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you say it's one of the worst performances.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, stays.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think it might be, it's worse than anything we saw on our gym shorts for sure, because I feel like for the most part, the defense was non-existent.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't like they just played bad, or they gave up some big plays or whatever.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_01]: Um, they didn't do anything well whatsoever.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_01]: Um, as a whole, it was really bad.
- 1:06:34[UNKNOWN]: It was really bad.
- 1:06:36[SPEAKER_01]: It was really bad, but let's get to your second voice mail here.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, guys, it's Stacey.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_00]: So interesting take here.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_00]: I was kind of just thinking about it.
- 1:06:44[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_00]: The defense on Sunday, obviously against Jaguar's looked absolutely awful.
- 1:06:49[SPEAKER_00]: They looked like they didn't even know what they were doing in the NFL game.
- 1:06:53[SPEAKER_00]: But that being said, do you think maybe it has anything to do with the fact that the Sean Watson is starting at quarterback?
- 1:07:00[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_00]: the defense is just not behind him and really just feels like they have no chance so then they kind of just play with zero life.
- 1:07:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mean I think it's something worth thinking about and I could definitely see that being true.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_00]: There was an interview with Ronnie Hickman and of course media asked him about them starting to Sean Watson and he basically just said like that's above my
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_00]: liking the choice of picking to Sean at quarterback, maybe they have been behind should-or this whole time and then they ended up picking to Sean and now they're like, oh great, we basically don't even have a fighting chance on offense, so why do we even attempt to do anything on defense?
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_00]: I get definitely see that being true and it's really unfortunate because Shidorah definitely gives us the best chance to win as much as every person in the world wants to say to Shondas like we can see with our own eyes.
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see what these next week's bring us.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_01]: Stacey, how I'm sure you were watching this episode of the whole time thinking, well, I got a voicemail about that, yeah, I already talked about it.
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I do, I agree with you, 100%, I think that there is a level, an element of the suckage that we saw on Sunday from the entire team that is directly tied to the Sean Watson being the quarterback.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_01]: We saw it in 2024, we saw how offense defense didn't matter like the team does not believe
- 1:08:34[SPEAKER_01]: Can win games?
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_01]: They do not believe they have a chance with him at quarterback.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_01]: You saw it last year.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_01]: As soon as Chador Sanders came in at least, there was a spark, there was a spark.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_01]: Hang in there guys, I love all you guys.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_01]: First and foremost, thank you for being here.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for being invested in the team to the point that you're willing to keep watching our podcast.
- 1:08:59[SPEAKER_01]: we wouldn't be here without you guys and we do it for you guys and I know I will continue to vent the frustrations of this fan base through this show as much as I can.
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_01]: I know not everybody agrees with everything I say or all the opinions of everybody on this show.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_01]: but at the end of the day we are all browns fans and we are all in this together because we're all getting royally screwed together by the organization.
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_01]: I say this a lot to people and they're like, wait, now differentiate what you mean here.
- 1:09:29[SPEAKER_01]: I hate this organization right now.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_01]: I hate them.
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, well, why do you still root for the team?
- 1:09:35[SPEAKER_01]: I love the team.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_01]: Are you, I love the Browns.
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_01]: I love the Browns.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_01]: You cut me open.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_01]: I will bleed Brown and Orange.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_01]: I love the freaking Browns.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_01]: I hate this organization right now.
- 1:09:45[SPEAKER_01]: Hate them.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_01]: Just hate them.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_01]: There is a difference.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_01]: I will root for this team.
- 1:09:50[SPEAKER_01]: I will root for the colors.
- 1:09:51[SPEAKER_01]: I will root for the logo.
- 1:09:52[SPEAKER_01]: I will root for the Browns.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_01]: But it does not mean I have to support the people that are currently running that team.
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have to support the ownership, I don't have to support the front office, the coaching staff, any of the players.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'll support you until you get me a reason not to to show them what to get the hell off my football team.
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_01]: Jerry Judy, off my football team, right now.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Monk and you're very close dude.
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_01]: Very funny.
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_01]: I like you.
- 1:10:19[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot, I'm sorry guys.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_01]: I forget which voice mail said it.
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_01]: The more you put the Sean Watson out there, the more this fanbase is turning against you.
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_01]: Fast, very fast.
- 1:10:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna get ugly guys.
- 1:10:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna get ugly, but again, we're here together.
- 1:10:35[SPEAKER_01]: We're doing this together.
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_01]: You're not taking me away from Brown's football.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I've been through one in 31.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_01]: I've been through terrible quarterback plates.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_01]: Why we know what it looks like.
- 1:10:46[SPEAKER_01]: Browns fans aren't stupid.
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_01]: Don't ever let anybody make you feel like you're stupid as a Browns fan.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_01]: This organization will gaslight you, thinking you're dumb enough to believe that Deshawn Watson is somehow a good quarterback.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_01]: We saw flashes.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_01]: There were flashes on film.
- 1:11:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need flashes from my 10 year veteran quarterback.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't pay him to come here, show flashes.
- 1:11:09[SPEAKER_01]: Peyton to come here and be the top and quarterback and win football games, and he sucks.
- 1:11:16[SPEAKER_01]: Get him out of here.
- 1:11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Todd, you are thin ice, brother.
- 1:11:20[SPEAKER_01]: Thin ice, Mike Root and Berg.
- 1:11:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's a short leash for all of you guys, but I will forever love the Browns, root for the Browns, watch the Browns.
- 1:11:32[SPEAKER_01]: even if there's some hate watch going on because of certain people within this organization.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_01]: But you guys are the best fans, the best audience in the world.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for being here again.
- 1:11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Go to join the dogs.com.
- 1:11:42[SPEAKER_01]: You want to hang out with us all the time in the discord chat in their 24-7.
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's great.
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I just appreciate everybody who supports the show, who's helped us grow so much over the years.
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_01]: Again, this will be our seventh season now covering the Browns.
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_01]: And we've been through some stuff here.
- 1:12:01[SPEAKER_01]: We've been through some highs, some lows.
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_01]: We're in a plateau of low right now.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll get through it together.
- 1:12:08[SPEAKER_01]: But thank you for supporting the show.
