- 1:15Speaker 1: Oh wow, Good morning Vietnam. All right, hey everybody, welcome
- 1:20Speaker 1: to the podcast. We are on the Luni.
- 1:22Speaker 5: I'm Erin, I'm Gina, I'm Kristen.
- 1:25Speaker 1: That is acclaimed author Aaron.
- 1:28Speaker 6: And I'm on a time delay. That second one was deliberate.
- 1:38Speaker 4: It's like that insurance commercial where he's turning into his parents.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Fuck, do you take snacks to the airport and tupperware?
- 1:51Speaker 1: I offend I say that, but I definitely hadn't finished
- 1:56Speaker 1: some goat cheese when I was on a business trip
- 1:58Speaker 1: once and I like took it with me and the
- 2:01Speaker 1: people at security were very confused. What the like little
- 2:04Speaker 1: law like white log was in a bag in my bag.
- 2:08Speaker 1: They were like, ma'am, can you take this out? I
- 2:10Speaker 1: was like, it's goat cheese.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Did they poke through it?
- 2:15Speaker 6: No?
- 2:15Speaker 1: They just were like, oh, okay, yeah, Jesus Hard.
- 2:19Speaker 4: I just like to point that Aaron just put one
- 2:21Speaker 4: of his books in his laugh.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah, his own books.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I can't really be book Daddy without a book.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So and what are those books that you wrote? Book Daddy?
- 2:34Speaker 1: Could you tell our audience in case they've never heard
- 2:36Speaker 1: us before.
- 2:36Speaker 6: Well, this is the first of my book children, being
- 2:40Speaker 6: the book Father, the book Father.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I've written two novels so far.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Saye is a sci fi mystery thriller and sequel Rika
- 2:53Speaker 6: is a fantasy adventure. So if you like a series
- 2:58Speaker 6: that goes in two different directions at one once, by
- 3:01Speaker 6: all means. The second books full title is Raka and
- 3:04Speaker 6: The Inevitability of Life.
- 3:07Speaker 1: So your books are kind of like that old Dog
- 3:09Speaker 1: and Cat cartoon when it was like a dog on
- 3:12Speaker 1: one side and a cat on the other.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Do you remember from the night Dog IM so confused.
- 3:18Speaker 4: You've never seen Cat Dog Nickelodeon.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I don't know what's happening.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Your book goes into two ways, and I said, do
- 3:28Speaker 1: you remember that dog and cat, which now we know
- 3:30Speaker 1: it is called cat dog? There was half cat.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Now the link is clear.
- 3:35Speaker 4: No link wasn't in it?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Oh no legend?
- 3:40Speaker 4: Yeah, sorry, princess, excuse me.
- 3:47Speaker 7: I have that cartoon on DVDs in the garage somewhere.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Nice pull it out.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I think that was only on Fridays on the Mario Show.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Right, I'm so hungry. I could eat an oct rock.
- 4:02Speaker 4: That was pretty good. I didn't know he had impressions.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Guys, those of you at home. And it is possible
- 4:09Speaker 1: for there to be a gas leak in four separate locations.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Always call before digging.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 4:18Speaker 6: Oh I had it backwards. I always dug before calling.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Let me know when we're ready to move forward with
- 4:28Speaker 1: the show.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I'm still apparently suffering from the gas leak.
- 4:34Speaker 1: No, no, no, So anyway, like, what's going on? Tell
- 4:36Speaker 1: us about your life? You got anything good going on? Anybody?
- 4:40Speaker 6: No, there's there's something good going on. I live in America.
- 4:45Speaker 6: There's literally nothing good going on.
- 4:48Speaker 2: How's your vision much better now.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I got shiny new impertinences that I have to
- 4:55Speaker 6: put on my face.
- 4:57Speaker 4: You look good. You picked you picked great frames for
- 5:00Speaker 4: your first one out the gate.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I really like them.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Were you helped in any way or did you pick
- 5:05Speaker 4: them on your own? No?
- 5:07Speaker 6: I just I went to with Zeny Optical and I
- 5:11Speaker 6: took both through the limited amount of frames that were
- 5:14Speaker 6: available for ahead of my size.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Ah, oh you needed Why is that it?
- 5:20Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah yeah yeah.
- 5:21Speaker 6: They were like, oh you Chonky Boy. Here's some Chalky
- 5:24Speaker 6: Boy glasses and I was like, oh, there's six.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I'm going to go with this one.
- 5:29Speaker 4: I think, well, you nailed it.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I like them a lot. I'm very happy
- 5:36Speaker 2: with them.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Welcome to the club.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Have you noticed the issue like if you try to
- 5:41Speaker 4: lay down on a pillow, it.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Goes like this, Oh I don't, I don't lay down.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I ticked them off before I lay down. I'm like, nope,
- 5:49Speaker 2: I'm not. One time was enough for me to be like, oh,
- 5:53Speaker 2: let's take that.
- 5:55Speaker 1: You have the benefit of not having long, lush, long,
- 5:59Speaker 1: luscious hair, because I noticed your glasses have the little
- 6:03Speaker 1: stem things for the nose versus the pair I wear
- 6:08Speaker 1: that we all wear have the it's built in, so
- 6:10Speaker 1: there's no thing. If you have that kind and you
- 6:13Speaker 1: are a girl or a guy with long, luscious locks,
- 6:16Speaker 1: when you pick it up, one of two things happens. One,
- 6:19Speaker 1: if your hair is pulled back in any sort of
- 6:22Speaker 1: way professionally so that you look decent in an office,
- 6:25Speaker 1: you fuck it up immediately, and you cause an immense
- 6:30Speaker 1: amount of pain because you also rip like three hairs
- 6:33Speaker 1: out in different places on your head. So there's this
- 6:36Speaker 1: very confusing pain from multiple locations of the hair ripping out.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Never been so pleased to be bald.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but I think those nose pieces sit better and
- 6:48Speaker 4: the slip is easy. But they might leave a little indentation,
- 6:52Speaker 4: little red marks, And are you like, oh my god,
- 6:57Speaker 4: they get dirty so easy.
- 6:59Speaker 2: No, they don't appear to get a dirty all that much.
- 7:01Speaker 6: They rest comfortably on my nose, which is pretty much
- 7:04Speaker 6: all I could ask for, is they don't. They don't hurt,
- 7:06Speaker 6: they don't leave marks, they're they're just there and they
- 7:09Speaker 6: just hold my glasses up and that's it.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Now, did you have like a whole fitting with yours
- 7:14Speaker 1: after they came in? Did they check them on you
- 7:16Speaker 1: or you just got and fit them.
- 7:18Speaker 2: No, I used.
- 7:19Speaker 6: I used, I got my prescription from my eye doctor,
- 7:23Speaker 6: and I used a phone app to determine the size
- 7:26Speaker 6: of my head and the pupil distance the PD and
- 7:30Speaker 6: I took all those numbers and I put them into
- 7:33Speaker 6: Zeny Optical and they sent me these and they were
- 7:36Speaker 6: perfect right out.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Of the box.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Wow.
- 7:39Speaker 6: I was told by several people to like wear them
- 7:42Speaker 6: for like a full day and make sure they don't hurt.
- 7:44Speaker 2: They don't you know that everything's right, you know.
- 7:48Speaker 6: And if not, send them back because you don't want
- 7:50Speaker 6: to be stuck with them. I either did it right
- 7:54Speaker 6: or I got extremely lucky.
- 7:56Speaker 4: The two great frames fit perfect out the gate first time.
- 8:01Speaker 3: What. Yeah, you should play the lottery.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what a lot of people are telling me,
- 8:08Speaker 6: and I'm starting to consider it because honestly, there's no
- 8:13Speaker 6: way I could have got this right the first.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Time out legitimately, like it took.
- 8:18Speaker 7: Forever when I had my first pair of glasses, but
- 8:21Speaker 7: that was in like fifth grade.
- 8:22Speaker 4: So same fifth grade.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Yeah, that's when I started going blind.
- 8:27Speaker 7: I have them switched out several times because they made
- 8:31Speaker 7: me dizzy and then the ground looked uneven and oh, wow.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Ever to like tinker it right.
- 8:37Speaker 4: You had a lot of problems.
- 8:39Speaker 6: And I also won't say what my prescription is because
- 8:43Speaker 6: the last person with glasses that I spoke to when
- 8:45Speaker 6: I told them, they got very angry with me.
- 8:48Speaker 4: It's small, sounds like it's very light.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very light. It is.
- 8:53Speaker 6: If I take them off, literally, all that happens is
- 8:56Speaker 6: like objects six feet away or further are slightly blurry.
- 9:00Speaker 3: But sounds nice.
- 9:01Speaker 4: Do you need them to drive officially? No, not to
- 9:06Speaker 4: drive officially, so yeah, that's not too bad.
- 9:09Speaker 7: No.
- 9:10Speaker 6: But I was excited to get them, so I may
- 9:11Speaker 6: I may have gotten them too early. Maybe I probably
- 9:14Speaker 6: could have gone without for a little while longer, But
- 9:16Speaker 6: I was like that, I want my.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Vision to be what it was. Let's let let's go
- 9:21Speaker 2: back to what it was.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Well, and it makes less strain on your eyes.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely does.
- 9:26Speaker 6: I specifically got the blue blockers put it in because
- 9:29Speaker 6: I stare at screens all day for a job, and
- 9:32Speaker 6: after work, when I get out of that job, I'm
- 9:34Speaker 6: still staring at screens. So uh, it was it was
- 9:38Speaker 6: a no brainer. And I genuinely like, seemed like my
- 9:41Speaker 6: eyes like water a lot less since I got these okay,
- 9:46Speaker 6: So I think I'm straining them a lot less.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Which is good my health. Oh no, Lunei, It's.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Right there in the title Lunai. Aaron's just not having it.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Not having it.
- 10:01Speaker 4: How are you do you wear contact?
- 10:03Speaker 7: Arin?
- 10:04Speaker 1: No, my vision is almost perfect, but I have an astigmatism,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and so I have to wear it to draw. I
- 10:11Speaker 1: have to wear my glasses to draw. I have a
- 10:13Speaker 1: perfect light improvement. I'm far sighted, so I have a
- 10:19Speaker 1: slight adjustment on my lenses. But I actually I told
- 10:23Speaker 1: this to Kristen when she was visiting me, and she
- 10:25Speaker 1: made a face, so she's gonna make a face again now,
- 10:28Speaker 1: which I think. My eyes actually are slightly improving because
- 10:33Speaker 1: my glasses now hurt me if I wear them. So
- 10:36Speaker 1: I'm in the process of getting another another eye doctor
- 10:40Speaker 1: and starting the process over because I still need them
- 10:43Speaker 1: to draw, because what happens with my astigmatism is if
- 10:46Speaker 1: I don't wear them, everyone looks kind of like their
- 10:49Speaker 1: hips out, Like if I draw a person or or
- 10:53Speaker 1: standing up in sort of a human type pose, they
- 10:57Speaker 1: all have like one hip out because I'm just drawing
- 11:02Speaker 1: slightly slanted everything, So that's cool. But yeah, my eyes
- 11:06Speaker 1: are pretty good. My dad's eyes are better than they
- 11:10Speaker 1: used to be, better than twenty twenty. Like he had
- 11:13Speaker 1: a better eye than twenty twenty, and he would talk
- 11:16Speaker 1: about it all the time, and it filled me with rage.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So I understand saying like, oh, my eyes are better,
- 11:21Speaker 1: they're so good is annoying to people that have worn
- 11:23Speaker 1: glasses their whole life. Yeah, but I do like how
- 11:26Speaker 1: they look on me, so I'll keep wearing them.
- 11:28Speaker 4: My vision's fucking terrible. Damn, they have to sand down
- 11:33Speaker 4: the glass.
- 11:34Speaker 3: My lenses are so thick.
- 11:37Speaker 4: You get them sanded down, too, don't you.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Sometimes it's yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Her lenses. As someone who's recently sat next to Kristen
- 11:46Speaker 1: on the couch for two weeks, her lenses are thicker
- 11:50Speaker 1: than the frame at the edge.
- 11:52Speaker 4: A little bit like yeah, sticks out a little that's wild. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:58Speaker 4: so you can eat shit with your My eyes are getting.
- 12:02Speaker 7: Respectfully, I'm like negative seven point five and negative six
- 12:07Speaker 7: point seven five with an instinguitism.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Please air with all the love in the world, walk off, Please.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Barely need glasses. Don't pile along with them, no excuse,
- 12:21Speaker 1: you just got them.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I know it's just too fun.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I didn't get mine until high school because I would
- 12:28Speaker 1: get headaches because the words were a little crooked on
- 12:31Speaker 1: the page from reading. And so that's the first time
- 12:33Speaker 1: I read glasses with high school because I was reading
- 12:36Speaker 1: so much that I was because I was forced to
- 12:38Speaker 1: read for school, and then I was reading for pleasure
- 12:40Speaker 1: as well. And my mom was like, why why are
- 12:42Speaker 1: you always like tilting your head a little, or like
- 12:45Speaker 1: what are you doing? Or are you rubbing your eyes?
- 12:47Speaker 1: And that's how they I even was alerted to that.
- 12:51Speaker 1: So well, welcome to the club, sir.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yay, yay, happy to be here.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Really, I really love my glasses, so it all kind
- 12:59Speaker 6: of worked.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I feel a little left out today that I'm not
- 13:01Speaker 1: wearing mine, But then I wouldn't be able to read
- 13:03Speaker 1: the quiz. So do you want to.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Go get some punch out the lenses?
- 13:10Speaker 1: I'll just I'll just tape my pair. I wear toppers
- 13:16Speaker 1: with cordon and poop to my eyes.
- 13:21Speaker 4: They it's staying on. Look at that.
- 13:23Speaker 1: It's like a monocle. But two. All right, so.
- 13:28Speaker 4: We tried a monocle.
- 13:29Speaker 2: But two.
- 13:34Speaker 4: I'm just so excited we reached the end of season one.
- 13:37Speaker 3: I know it's exciting.
- 13:40Speaker 4: It's a big moment.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Well, then maybe we should just start watching our episode
- 13:45Speaker 1: because the listeners are probably just as excited too.
- 13:49Speaker 4: I'm a listener and I'm excited. That was real audio.
- 13:54Speaker 4: So it was, Oh, you want me to tell you
- 13:56Speaker 4: about the episode? You're all looking at me, my bad.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Eight o'clock in the morning here, and I am not
- 14:06Speaker 4: a morning person.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, all right.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Episode twenty five, the last of season one, is called
- 14:15Speaker 4: The Way We Met. The original air date May tenth,
- 14:20Speaker 4: nineteen eighty six, directed by Terry Hughes, written by several
- 14:27Speaker 4: people Kathy Spear, Terry Grossman, Mark Nathan, Barry Fernaro, and
- 14:32Speaker 4: our girl Winifred Harvey.
- 14:37Speaker 1: I think there's only two names again in the credits,
- 14:40Speaker 1: though for this one they don't give all those writers
- 14:44Speaker 1: the credit and the credits. It sucks. What do we think?
- 14:47Speaker 4: This episode is about? Friends? The Way We Met?
- 14:50Speaker 2: Gee?
- 14:50Speaker 3: I wonder it feels kind of stuff.
- 14:53Speaker 7: Explanatory favorite episode ever, Ladies, Ladies, please don't fight over stand.
- 15:02Speaker 4: You botch a loop?
- 15:06Speaker 3: Well, since Sophia and Dorothy obviously.
- 15:08Speaker 7: Already knew each other, I would hope, so it's probably
- 15:12Speaker 7: how the ladies met Blanche and Rose.
- 15:17Speaker 4: And that's fair because Blanche is the one who owns
- 15:19Speaker 4: the house.
- 15:21Speaker 7: But her and Dorothy seem to be friends, and then
- 15:25Speaker 7: Rose came in. I don't know how the whole dynamic worked.
- 15:27Speaker 7: So I'm sure we'll figure. They'll inform us of how
- 15:31Speaker 7: they all met.
- 15:33Speaker 4: And who do you think the villain will be?
- 15:37Speaker 2: I mean, if I had to guess Stan.
- 15:42Speaker 4: I don't think he's in this one.
- 15:44Speaker 7: Is he?
- 15:45Speaker 1: No, he's not in this one, but he's mentioned.
- 15:48Speaker 6: And also, but it was Dorothy's divorce that I think
- 15:52Speaker 6: pushed her to.
- 15:55Speaker 1: If you want to, if you want to make my
- 16:00Speaker 1: I don't even have to talk about it. At the end,
- 16:01Speaker 1: stands always the villain. But so it was in this episode.
- 16:05Speaker 1: And you know he's not in this episode because yesterday
- 16:09Speaker 1: someone gave you all what twenty six episodes he was
- 16:13Speaker 1: in in a list.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Hey, it's me the villain.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Okay, seriously, let's let's pick a villain.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Capitalism, Dorothy, Okay.
- 16:27Speaker 1: All right, now Aaron said, it's it's Stan capitalism.
- 16:34Speaker 4: No, let's too, Dorothy.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Okay, all right.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I'm a guest in your home. My opinion does not matter.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Of course that's not true.
- 16:45Speaker 2: No, Yeah, I don't know why I'm sleepy. It's ten.
- 16:49Speaker 6: It's eleven o'clock where I am, and I got up
- 16:51Speaker 6: at nine and had breakfast, so I should be just
- 16:55Speaker 6: hopping and jumping and skipping.
- 16:56Speaker 2: But I also like, uh, kill me.
- 17:00Speaker 4: You have for breakfast.
- 17:02Speaker 6: A bowl of cereal honey something with almonds. I can't
- 17:09Speaker 6: remember the name of it.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Is it the special?
- 17:13Speaker 2: K No, it's like the honey honey bunches of oats with.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Almonds, and.
- 17:19Speaker 2: It's very good. It's very good.
- 17:21Speaker 1: But I had a cult and some granola.
- 17:25Speaker 4: You joined a cult? What?
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 17:28Speaker 1: Cult, it's a yogurt best cult.
- 17:32Speaker 6: They deliberately eat and drink things that are disgusting.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Yeah, honey smacks like a child I got.
- 17:45Speaker 6: I got some intel scrunching there, and that's that's pretty childish.
- 17:49Speaker 6: I usually get like lucky charms too, just I got
- 17:53Speaker 6: like I'm twelve.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, it's fine. Well, now that our audience knows
- 17:58Speaker 1: what we have in our pantries, let's see what we
- 18:01Speaker 1: have in this episode, and we'll be right back after
- 18:04Speaker 1: we watch it.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Hey, I'm pants Saren. This is Stevie and I'm Aggie
- 18:08Speaker 2: and we.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Are bfytw podcast all about playing games and having fun.
- 18:12Speaker 6: Our games are usually based on British panel shows and
- 18:14Speaker 6: game shows, but we'll play anything that captures our attention
- 18:17Speaker 6: and imagination.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Why it's right there in the.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Title, you'll never guess what the F stands for. Welcome back.
- 18:26Speaker 4: We finished season one, and so did you, and if
- 18:30Speaker 4: you didn't, you shouldn't be listening this.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Far yet spoilers.
- 18:34Speaker 4: What did we think?
- 18:35Speaker 2: It is very funny.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I enjoyed it.
- 18:38Speaker 2: That is a really good one.
- 18:40Speaker 7: Yeah, it's got a lot of good moments, some real
- 18:44Speaker 7: gut busting laughs.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Yes, this is not the episode I've been waiting for,
- 18:51Speaker 1: but this is one of the This is one of
- 18:53Speaker 1: my favorite Rose stories ever because the girls are still
- 18:58Speaker 1: willing to play along because it's early in the series.
- 19:03Speaker 1: They ask probing questions because this is when they first met,
- 19:07Speaker 1: and so I really like that because the dynamic changes
- 19:11Speaker 1: clearly the further we got in into season one. They
- 19:15Speaker 1: started to be a little meaner to her when she
- 19:17Speaker 1: had a story, but this was they had just met,
- 19:20Speaker 1: so they were very interested and then kind of egged
- 19:24Speaker 1: her on. And it's a fun dynamic that you don't
- 19:27Speaker 1: get as much out of her stories.
- 19:29Speaker 4: I love when they crack up her stories Yeah, a
- 19:33Speaker 4: lot of times they're just annoyed.
- 19:35Speaker 7: Well, I feel like I've seen that scene before with
- 19:39Speaker 7: the Herring story, either that or she told the Herring
- 19:41Speaker 7: story at another point in this season.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Well, you said you had seen bits and pieces, but.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's because I remember they have even posted that
- 19:51Speaker 1: scene on my social medium.
- 19:52Speaker 7: Maybe that's what it was, because I've definitely seen that before.
- 19:55Speaker 1: And I hope you paid attention to it because spoilers,
- 19:59Speaker 1: it's going to come up in my quiz. What speaking
- 20:02Speaker 1: of quiz, do we want to jump right into the
- 20:05Speaker 1: quiz or do you have some trivia for us or
- 20:07Speaker 1: what would you?
- 20:09Speaker 4: I have trivia, but I never want to spoil the quiz,
- 20:11Speaker 4: so go ahead.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Wow, that's true. I know the quiz master and she's
- 20:15Speaker 1: a real bitch.
- 20:18Speaker 4: She's also amazing.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Yes, guys, this is Kristen's last episode today.
- 20:25Speaker 4: If you'd like to be on on the LUNI.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, we open seats. How dare you bish? Okay, let's
- 20:35Speaker 1: jump into it, guys. Is your buzzard? So what was
- 20:41Speaker 1: the neighbor's cat trying to do outside Dorothy's window?
- 20:46Speaker 3: Kristin, Yes, it was humping the flamingo.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Yes, he tried to mate with the plate. Right point, Kristen,
- 20:57Speaker 1: off to a good start here.
- 20:59Speaker 6: I preferred Chris since term copulating.
- 21:05Speaker 7: Well, it's plastic, so he's technically just humping it. It's
- 21:08Speaker 7: not like he can actually do anything.
- 21:10Speaker 6: Yeah, I didn't write the script, mate implies breeding with potential.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Right yeah, cool.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Why don't you get in your fucking time machine and
- 21:20Speaker 1: go tell that list of writers they did it wrong.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I don't, and I'm not talking to them. I'm talking
- 21:26Speaker 2: to you.
- 21:26Speaker 3: So there you go, and they're probably dead.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Oh youch wow, scream at the great Okay, move on.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Right along. What is Blanche carrying when she enters the kitchen?
- 21:43Speaker 7: Oh?
- 21:43Speaker 3: Golf club?
- 21:44Speaker 1: Oh, Kristen, Sorry you didn't say your name first? Anyone
- 21:49Speaker 1: else want to?
- 21:51Speaker 2: Yes, it was a golf club.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Cool, point, Aaron. We follow the rules here. I heard
- 21:58Speaker 1: him a bitch gonna be one.
- 22:04Speaker 3: I'm uncomfortable.
- 22:06Speaker 5: What is the name of Rose's cat, Kristen, yep, mister peepers,
- 22:15Speaker 5: it was adorable. The answers to this next question, what
- 22:21Speaker 5: examples of being a wild woman does Rose give Blanche?
- 22:28Speaker 6: Aaron, she eats raw cookie dough and I can't remember
- 22:35Speaker 6: any of the others Kristen.
- 22:38Speaker 7: She's been known to drink more than one eggnog and
- 22:45Speaker 7: sprinklers without a shire cap on.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Okay, Kristen's gonna get the point. She got two of
- 22:51Speaker 1: the three. Sorry, Aaron. What warning does Madame Zelda give
- 22:57Speaker 1: Dorothy at the front door?
- 23:00Speaker 6: Aaron, Yes, don't live here unless you want to die
- 23:04Speaker 6: a gruesome death.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Yeah, close enough, she says, Move in the house and
- 23:08Speaker 1: you'll die in agonizing death. All right, point Aaron.
- 23:13Speaker 4: She was pretty great.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I really like I can see why Blanche gave it
- 23:19Speaker 2: the boot to be honest. Oh, that would get old
- 23:23Speaker 2: super fast.
- 23:25Speaker 1: At first, Dorothy tells Rose she doesn't know what to
- 23:28Speaker 1: say when Rose offers to sing Kumbayah to her at night,
- 23:32Speaker 1: but she does quickly find the words. What are they?
- 23:35Speaker 2: Aaron, don't ever do that? Yep?
- 23:41Speaker 1: All right, point Aaron, My ass kicked here. What does
- 23:45Speaker 1: Blanche say is absolutely essential to have around for a date.
- 23:50Speaker 1: That's a little sluggish, Gina.
- 23:54Speaker 4: Yes, canned oysters.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Yep, canned smoked oysters.
- 24:00Speaker 6: And a glass of cold duck, oh right, which I
- 24:04Speaker 6: think is a dry champagne.
- 24:06Speaker 1: It is. Cold duck is a type of like a
- 24:08Speaker 1: sparkling wine.
- 24:09Speaker 2: It's yeah, I don't know.
- 24:12Speaker 6: I had heard of it, and I was like, I
- 24:14Speaker 6: didn't want to say it during the episode, but yeah.
- 24:16Speaker 1: It's old timey for sure. I don't think it's as
- 24:19Speaker 1: popular now as it was. What is how much are
- 24:24Speaker 1: the peaches actually risen? Yes? Yes?
- 24:30Speaker 4: Correct?
- 24:31Speaker 1: Why does Rose say Blanche isn't an honest person?
- 24:38Speaker 2: Karen?
- 24:39Speaker 1: You knows first.
- 24:41Speaker 4: It's because she's trying to get away with buying petite
- 24:43Speaker 4: sized pantyhose.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yep, she couldn't even get him up to her knees,
- 24:48Speaker 1: that's what she says.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Okay, so this fat shamer right.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Also, they're all very small by most standards, even back then.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Smaller than me.
- 25:00Speaker 1: All right, So this next one is a three part
- 25:03Speaker 1: so please short answers, only just answer what I ask.
- 25:07Speaker 1: What was the Great Herring War, Kristen, Yes, Chris.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Stared to like over exaggerate.
- 25:18Speaker 7: The Great Herring War was when the Linstrom's and the
- 25:22Speaker 7: Johnson's teamed up in Norway and they couldn't agree what
- 25:27Speaker 7: to do with the Herring.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yes, that's almost verbatim from the script, so good job.
- 25:33Speaker 1: In my quiz I wrote it down, I spelled jo
- 25:37Speaker 1: Hansen wrong because I knew I was gonna say Johansen,
- 25:41Speaker 1: and you had your subtitles on, so you wrote it
- 25:43Speaker 1: down the right way. But I was like, I'm gonna
- 25:46Speaker 1: spell this wrong because otherwise I'm gonna and I love
- 25:49Speaker 1: you anyway, Okay. I just wanted you to know that
- 25:52Speaker 1: I had this whole thing where I went and changed
- 25:54Speaker 1: my quiz because I was like, you're gonna say Joe
- 25:56Speaker 1: Hanson's all right? Part two, which family wanted to train
- 26:04Speaker 1: them for the circus? Kristen, yes, thelinch humps correct, okay.
- 26:12Speaker 1: And this is the last of the three part question
- 26:17Speaker 1: is did they ever shoot a Herring out of a cannon?
- 26:22Speaker 1: Aaron yes, Aaron.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yes, once, yeah, one after that. After that, the Herrings
- 26:31Speaker 2: didn't want to do it anymore.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Shot a Harry out of a cannon once once?
- 26:37Speaker 1: Okay. So this is the last one about the episode,
- 26:40Speaker 1: and then I have just six bonus questions in case
- 26:42Speaker 1: anyone wants to try to get a better score. The
- 26:47Speaker 1: last thing is what does Sophia do to the women?
- 26:53Speaker 7: Kristen, Yes, she runs into the kitchen with a knife
- 26:57Speaker 7: psycho style. I'm scarce, yeah, big as and she actually
- 27:03Speaker 7: kind of looks like Norman Bates with the Little Granny
- 27:07Speaker 7: wig and.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Yeah, good point. Yeah, all right? Were you ready for
- 27:14Speaker 1: your Actually I only have five phonus questions. I don't
- 27:17Speaker 1: know why I'm ready.
- 27:19Speaker 4: I'm ready.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Okay.
- 27:22Speaker 1: What is Sophia packing in her suitcase in the episode
- 27:26Speaker 1: that she goes to visit her son Phil.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Gina, Yes, was it clam sauce?
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay? Which golden girl admits to gaslighting her sister
- 27:41Speaker 1: about being the daughter of a gypsy woman because she
- 27:44Speaker 1: annoyed her?
- 27:46Speaker 3: Kristin yes, Blanche, yes, okay.
- 27:52Speaker 1: What is the Lindstrom surprise?
- 27:56Speaker 3: Kristin, Yes, it's the herring pie.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Right, and the surprise is you think it's right, but
- 28:04Speaker 1: it's fish haring.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Is it the heirring from the cannon.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Circuit failed? We know where it wound up.
- 28:15Speaker 1: In episode five the competition, the girls switch bowling partners
- 28:19Speaker 1: quite a bit. Who ends up bowling with Blanche.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Ah? Aaron Dorothy, Yeah, all right, yeah, you're right.
- 28:35Speaker 1: And then the final question, because I remember that, the
- 28:39Speaker 1: final question, and truly one I am obsessed with. What
- 28:43Speaker 1: does Phil give Sophia every year for Christmas?
- 28:48Speaker 7: Kristen, Yes, it's the cheese nap.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Kennedy yep, I want one. You want it so bad?
- 28:58Speaker 1: I want you cheese.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Do you want it made out of cheese? Cheese? It
- 29:03Speaker 4: doesn't matter, just I want to I wouldn't use a
- 29:06Speaker 4: runny cheese.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I want a tiny baby ge made of cheese, A
- 29:11Speaker 1: baby gudda.
- 29:12Speaker 7: Baby Guda, God, little baby Bell.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Everybody can have their own cheese.
- 29:18Speaker 1: I feel like baby Bell needs to be involved in
- 29:21Speaker 1: Baby Jesus, the cheese.
- 29:23Speaker 6: Version Baby Cheesus.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Christine smoked you all, Kristin Yay Christen.
- 29:36Speaker 7: Yeah, I loved this episode.
- 29:42Speaker 4: It was a really great This is when I might
- 29:44Speaker 4: have to rewatch.
- 29:45Speaker 7: I might make my husband watch it just because it's
- 29:48Speaker 7: so good.
- 29:49Speaker 1: But the harring with it's like tiny little helmet with
- 29:51Speaker 1: its little fins on the edge of the cannon. It's
- 29:54Speaker 1: so hopeful, no idea, no idea.
- 29:59Speaker 7: Smashed After that, the other Harry didn't want to do it.
- 30:04Speaker 1: It's such a beautiful visual. Anyway, all right, well, did
- 30:08Speaker 1: you want to do your trivia? And then I think,
- 30:10Speaker 1: do you is the trivia for me? Is that the
- 30:12Speaker 1: trivia you're doing?
- 30:14Speaker 4: Or I was going to do a couple episode trivia
- 30:17Speaker 4: bits and I have a quiz for you whenever We're.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Ready, Okay, cool.
- 30:22Speaker 8: Today's trivia for this episode is I don't know if
- 30:27Speaker 8: you noticed it because they only showed us back, but
- 30:29Speaker 8: we had don Iirera again as the produce clerk.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Yeah, nice, Canalo, thank you. They say an inhabitant of
- 30:41Speaker 4: Guam is a Guamanian. That is true. An indigenous person
- 30:45Speaker 4: of Guam is a I think it's tomorrow or chamorrow.
- 30:50Speaker 4: And Rue was nominated for an Emmy for this episode.
- 30:55Speaker 4: Did not say she won, so I'm guessing she did
- 30:57Speaker 4: not win. Ok So that's what I Kristen. I'd love
- 31:02Speaker 4: to know how many times Aaron stumped us this season.
- 31:05Speaker 7: For season one, Ann stumped us twenty two times, zam.
- 31:10Speaker 3: It's impressive, almost once an episode.
- 31:14Speaker 4: Yeah, and we didn't even start that till like five.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:17Speaker 1: What's funny is when you quiz me right now, there's
- 31:20Speaker 1: like a seventy five twenty five chance I'm gonna suck
- 31:24Speaker 1: it up. I'm I'm good at remembering things I've seen recently,
- 31:29Speaker 1: but like outside of what Leslie Nielsen's penis is called later, like, I.
- 31:37Speaker 4: Well, doesn't Aaron have a quiz? I don't want to
- 31:39Speaker 4: ruin his.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Episode one?
- 31:42Speaker 4: Yeah, he's Yeah, all right, I have I got this
- 31:47Speaker 4: for Christmas. The Golden Girls Trivia Deck and episode Guide.
- 31:52Speaker 4: I got this for Christmas, and I thought I would
- 31:55Speaker 4: mix it up and ask Aaron some questions.
- 32:00Speaker 1: So I'm shuffling the chance of doing well.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Do you want to pick which girl? Each card has
- 32:07Speaker 4: a girl on it? Do you want me to do
- 32:09Speaker 4: you want to pick which girl I ask you about?
- 32:11Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 32:12Speaker 4: Okay, let's go with your girl, Dorothy. Where did Stan
- 32:17Speaker 4: run off to with his stewardest mistress? The impetus for
- 32:22Speaker 4: Dorothy and stands divorce? Why do you know the specific island?
- 32:30Speaker 1: Man? No, I don't the Standaho Mount?
- 32:35Speaker 4: You almost said it?
- 32:36Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, you did though, all right.
- 32:39Speaker 4: I'm gonna give you that. All right, Let's ask you
- 32:43Speaker 4: the Rose question.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Okay, wait what I said?
- 32:48Speaker 4: Let's ask her a rose question? What is Roses? A
- 32:51Speaker 4: maiden name instrument?
- 32:54Speaker 2: Yes?
- 32:56Speaker 1: I can.
- 32:57Speaker 4: I can just give you one of every girl. It's
- 33:00Speaker 4: a Blanche question. What southern city is Blanche? Originally? From?
- 33:07Speaker 1: When you got it?
- 33:10Speaker 7: Oh?
- 33:10Speaker 1: Okay?
- 33:13Speaker 2: Whoa and wonder?
- 33:15Speaker 6: Rose is a Lindstrom the family that wanted to put
- 33:18Speaker 6: on the Herring circuit right exactly?
- 33:22Speaker 4: Here's your Sophia question. What accessory will you usually find
- 33:27Speaker 4: Sophia clasping.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Oh, her purse, her iconic perse love that purse. I
- 33:33Speaker 1: wish she had had her purse when she had the
- 33:35Speaker 1: knife in this episode, though, because that would have made it.
- 33:40Speaker 4: What is the name of the young flight attendant stand
- 33:43Speaker 4: cheats on Dorothy with he gets married to her, she
- 33:50Speaker 4: kicks him out.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Prissy, You got it?
- 33:57Speaker 3: I'm like, I know this one.
- 33:59Speaker 4: What does rose inherit? From her uncle? I know that's
- 34:05Speaker 4: very vague, but I don't know it's Rose inherit from
- 34:09Speaker 4: her uncle. I don't know anyone else know.
- 34:16Speaker 2: No.
- 34:18Speaker 4: A pig named baby, Oh do you remember that? Now?
- 34:22Speaker 4: What influential figure in Blanche's childhood had an affair with
- 34:26Speaker 4: Big Daddy? She wanted her music box? No, it's her
- 34:34Speaker 4: nanny Mammy? Oh yeah, okay. Last one? Which renowned artist
- 34:41Speaker 4: did Sophia claim to have a fling with Picasso? You
- 34:45Speaker 4: got it?
- 34:46Speaker 3: Yeah, good job.
- 34:49Speaker 4: I think that's enough for this season.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Definitely passed if it was high school, so that's what matters. Yeah, fail, I.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Think he only got like too wrong.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Yeah, Sharon got so, Gina got two?
- 35:02Speaker 4: I got I get too Okay, because you stumped her.
- 35:07Speaker 4: So this episode was about how they met, how they
- 35:10Speaker 4: moved in together, how they win their first shopping trip.
- 35:13Speaker 7: Together, their first little tiff, and how they got over it.
- 35:17Speaker 4: And it was all told through flashback while they were
- 35:20Speaker 4: up all night being afraid of Psycho.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I want to say it was great villain wise. I
- 35:25Speaker 1: think Dorothy is kind of kind of the villain in this.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I think when you because you, I think you ended
- 35:31Speaker 1: up picking that at the beginning. She definitely comes in
- 35:36Speaker 1: real hot with her sarcasm, like just like moving in
- 35:40Speaker 1: with these people and she's already given them the business.
- 35:43Speaker 1: So I feel like that's kind of shitty roommate behavior
- 35:46Speaker 1: and makes her the villain because she's.
- 35:48Speaker 6: Like I also kind of think that's the defense mechanism
- 35:50Speaker 6: on her part, right could she's she's all.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Shields up because she doesn't know what she's walking into.
- 35:56Speaker 1: So you might also have hosted this podcast, so.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Excuse me, carry on.
- 36:05Speaker 7: Aaron comes in hot too, So I do do we
- 36:08Speaker 7: know where where she was living before?
- 36:10Speaker 1: I feel like it was like right after the.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Divorce, Yeah, it seemed like it.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Oh so she was moving out of the house.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. Was that you're indersting.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Because Rose had told her like, I'm sorry your husband
- 36:23Speaker 3: dumped you?
- 36:24Speaker 4: All right, right, that's a rough situation.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think back to your point, Aarin, because
- 36:30Speaker 1: I went for the joke, but you wanted the serious
- 36:32Speaker 1: on that one. I do think most people use humor
- 36:34Speaker 1: as a defense mechanism. That's why so many comedians are
- 36:38Speaker 1: so broken.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true.
- 36:42Speaker 4: The more you know, she's also the villain because she
- 36:46Speaker 4: agreed to split the groceries, right, and then was like
- 36:49Speaker 4: I don't even like porkline, Well, why'd you let them
- 36:51Speaker 4: buy that?
- 36:52Speaker 1: Right? That is? That's and also fifteen ninety nine's a
- 36:56Speaker 1: lot for porklin Now, I feel so like, I know
- 36:58Speaker 1: it's going on with por prices in the eighties.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I could probably get one less than that now,
- 37:04Speaker 4: oh absolutely, And that was forty years ago.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like the great pork Shortage of nineteen
- 37:11Speaker 1: eighty six, remember because we were children.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 37:17Speaker 4: And also Blanche at what seven percent on her house loan,
- 37:20Speaker 4: like that's like rates now not great?
- 37:24Speaker 6: No?
- 37:24Speaker 3: And what about the size of that pepperoni?
- 37:28Speaker 6: It's night stick.
- 37:29Speaker 2: I don't know if I've seen it, I've seen big Pepperoni.
- 37:33Speaker 4: That not in the grocery store. Now, you'd have to
- 37:36Speaker 4: go to like an Italian market, right.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I've only seen them at Cortinas, which is this little
- 37:41Speaker 1: place that was by my house when I lived in Anaheim.
- 37:44Speaker 1: It was like a block away and they had stuff
- 37:47Speaker 1: that would make Sophia happy if she was cooking, like
- 37:49Speaker 1: in there, just like the best Jeesus and things important,
- 37:52Speaker 1: and only there have I ever seen. And even then,
- 37:55Speaker 1: I don't know that they were quite that long, that
- 37:58Speaker 1: that white strip around the It all made me feel
- 38:01Speaker 1: like because there was that white like label that looked
- 38:04Speaker 1: like a cigar band in the middle. I honestly feel
- 38:06Speaker 1: like the product.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Guy might have just like, oh maybe.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Peperoni's and put them together to make me Yeah. Yeah,
- 38:14Speaker 1: you know, like when they make a fake dick for
- 38:16Speaker 1: a guy in a.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Movie, right at a little lectra.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:21Speaker 4: But I would hate to shop with Rose because she's
- 38:24Speaker 4: going to correct them on every price. I'd be like
- 38:26Speaker 4: Jesus Christ.
- 38:27Speaker 3: They're going to give you a cheaper price. Take it woman.
- 38:30Speaker 1: She's too honest. She's too honest. Well, anyone else have
- 38:35Speaker 1: anything to say about the episode? Mister guest sir acclaimed
- 38:38Speaker 1: author it was funny.
- 38:42Speaker 3: It was the perfect end of the first season.
- 38:45Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, as far as Finelle episodes go, this is
- 38:49Speaker 6: spot on.
