- 1:09Speaker 4: Welcome, glad to have you with us here on a Monday.
- 1:13Speaker 4: It's uh, what do you guys do it here? You're
- 1:16Speaker 4: not supposed to be here for another hour?
- 1:18Speaker 5: Hey man, we we wanted to be here early, so
- 1:20Speaker 5: we want to go home.
- 1:22Speaker 1: And listen to the Astros lose.
- 1:24Speaker 6: But Roon White came. I know you you've been You've
- 1:27Speaker 6: been waiting since.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Saturday to talk about it, and we're going to Oh man,
- 1:31Speaker 4: it's great.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I'm will turn it overseas. Then this is.
- 1:34Speaker 7: Something could have kept me away from that except maybe five.
- 1:36Speaker 6: Or ten dollars. This is the this is the Intech
- 1:40Speaker 6: Writers Roundtable.
- 1:42Speaker 8: I know.
- 1:42Speaker 4: But if you if you follow me on the social media,
- 1:45Speaker 4: and I don't know why you would, but if you do,
- 1:48Speaker 4: I told you that this was going to happen because
- 1:51Speaker 4: we do have Astros baseball in the second hour here
- 1:53Speaker 4: on the zone while I'm thinking about it.
- 1:55Speaker 6: By the way, this portion.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Of the program is brought to you by Radio Dentistry.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Tomorrow is going to be iffy. The Aggies are supposed
- 2:02Speaker 4: to play baseball at three o'clock and I don't believe
- 2:04Speaker 4: they're gonna play they're gonna have to make that decision
- 2:07Speaker 4: probably about ten o'clock, between ten and eleven at the
- 2:10Speaker 4: latest tomorrow morning as to whether UTSA is going to
- 2:13Speaker 4: get on the bus and come here.
- 2:16Speaker 6: And I don't think they're gonna play that game.
- 2:18Speaker 4: So the reason I say that is if they do
- 2:21Speaker 4: play the game, we're not gonna be here.
- 2:23Speaker 6: If they don't.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Play the game, the Astros still have a five o'clock game.
- 2:26Speaker 4: But I will be here again at four o'clock tomorrow
- 2:29Speaker 4: afternoon to entertain you for an hour, So keep that
- 2:32Speaker 4: in mind. I know it's a little complicated right now,
- 2:35Speaker 4: but we're at the mercy of the weather, which says
- 2:39Speaker 4: ninety percent and I never believe that. But you know,
- 2:43Speaker 4: you sat through nine hours. You sat through nine hours
- 2:46Speaker 4: last Sunday. I don't know if you guys have recovered
- 2:49Speaker 4: today yet.
- 2:49Speaker 5: I honestly didn't sit through the whole thing because I
- 2:52Speaker 5: knew it was going to rain in the afternoon. So yeah,
- 2:55Speaker 5: I purposely did not go out there early, yes, and
- 2:59Speaker 5: I knew that there's just there's no way it's going
- 3:02Speaker 5: to start. So then I got notification and I told
- 3:05Speaker 5: my wife I went out more.
- 3:06Speaker 6: They're going to play.
- 3:07Speaker 1: They're going to play seven fifteen, all right. So we
- 3:10Speaker 1: get out.
- 3:10Speaker 5: There, we have dinner at you know, one of the
- 3:13Speaker 5: you know, fast food joints on the way.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, we take it. We're eating it in the car,
- 3:17Speaker 1: like really hurt.
- 3:18Speaker 6: You're hurrying to get the notification.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Then, and then I said, I looked at my wife
- 3:26Speaker 5: and I said, you know what if they don't start
- 3:28Speaker 5: this game till nine, because it's eight it's raining today though, Yeah,
- 3:32Speaker 5: and I said, let's just go because we're not We're
- 3:36Speaker 5: not stay out bad time. So on the way home,
- 3:39Speaker 5: Andrew Monico comes on and said, we're canceling this game.
- 3:43Speaker 6: And I'm like, well, we all wouldn't made it. At
- 3:45Speaker 6: least you got dinner out of the deal. Well, I
- 3:50Speaker 6: mean I couldn't have. It wasn't a horard dog at
- 3:53Speaker 6: the at the park.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So oh, but you know what, I was out there,
- 3:56Speaker 1: I was ready to go.
- 3:57Speaker 4: I know, I get it. I get it, especially the
- 4:00Speaker 4: first two days you want.
- 4:01Speaker 1: To play that Thursday definitely wanted to be there.
- 4:03Speaker 4: My gosh, this baseball team is they're doing okay right now.
- 4:07Speaker 6: They're on fire.
- 4:08Speaker 7: They way they want to play the Astros.
- 4:12Speaker 6: I wouldn't like to play Pirates.
- 4:14Speaker 4: I would like for him to play the Astros right
- 4:16Speaker 4: now because I think they could beat the Astros.
- 4:18Speaker 7: It's amazing when you get a little pitching and a
- 4:20Speaker 7: lot of hitting. Yeah, you know, it's uh, Baseball goes
- 4:24Speaker 7: through that. And right now that eggis just want to
- 4:26Speaker 7: play games. Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 4:28Speaker 7: We talked about they have enough pitching if everybody stays healthy,
- 4:31Speaker 7: and now today are getting a few innings out of him.
- 4:35Speaker 5: It's amazing because after those first two series, everybody's panicking
- 4:38Speaker 5: right because they lost to They've.
- 4:41Speaker 6: Won eleven out of the last twelve.
- 4:43Speaker 5: You can go back to that George Racy, that Georgia
- 4:46Speaker 5: Sunday game. I really thought that maybe that could be
- 4:49Speaker 5: a significant one because after losing the first two to Georgia,
- 4:53Speaker 5: you're like, wow, they came back and they run ruled them,
- 4:55Speaker 5: and you know that was really a big win. Ever
- 4:59Speaker 5: since then they one good. Yeah, it's just unbelievable.
- 5:04Speaker 7: We said before that that hitting lineup a few go
- 5:06Speaker 7: out and when you got a freshman who's batting like
- 5:09Speaker 7: ninth that he's so productive, and and Harrison he's gonna
- 5:13Speaker 7: walk eight times out of ten, it seems.
- 5:15Speaker 1: No, he's gonna get hit by pitch or walk.
- 5:18Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean they just we've all played baseball. That's
- 5:21Speaker 7: our spro when you get on that roll right now.
- 5:23Speaker 7: And that being said is immediately look A and M
- 5:26Speaker 7: is eighth in the r P. I their next three
- 5:29Speaker 7: series or against number nine Florida and Auburn and Mississippi
- 5:33Speaker 7: are ahead of A and M in the RP. Well,
- 5:35Speaker 7: you can't look behind you.
- 5:37Speaker 5: Yeah, and I don't want to get I mean LSU
- 5:39Speaker 5: is not typical l shoot right not, they're not. And
- 5:42Speaker 5: so yeah, and they'd be a bad South Carolina team
- 5:46Speaker 5: and they you know, they'd beat Vanderbilt two out three
- 5:48Speaker 5: and Vanderbilt is not great either. So but they did
- 5:52Speaker 5: play the number two team in the country at the
- 5:55Speaker 5: time and they tied up.
- 5:57Speaker 6: Yeah, and it's not that they eked.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Out those games.
- 6:00Speaker 7: They were the better team.
- 6:02Speaker 6: Yes, and I think Texas is probably fortunate.
- 6:04Speaker 1: That they didn't get to play that suddenly.
- 6:06Speaker 6: Yeah, I know.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Question, yeah, yeah, I mean they're playing great baseball right now.
- 6:11Speaker 4: They've put themselves, uh squarely in position to be talked about.
- 6:16Speaker 6: As a number one seed.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Oh absolutely, right, super yeah, super super reaching.
- 6:21Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, yeah, this is the team everybody thought they'd
- 6:23Speaker 7: see last year.
- 6:25Speaker 6: Yes, yes, but that were hurt.
- 6:27Speaker 5: But they had more pitching, they had more bullpens.
- 6:31Speaker 7: But as far as winning and where they're at, this
- 6:33Speaker 7: is the team that and once again is baseball is
- 6:35Speaker 7: a fair sport if you get your act together and
- 6:37Speaker 7: you stay healthy and right now all the pieces seem
- 6:41Speaker 7: to be falling in place.
- 6:42Speaker 5: Well, you're right, in baseball, we've all seen this that
- 6:47Speaker 5: to be really hot in the middle of the season
- 6:49Speaker 5: doesn't mean you're gonna win the World Series, right, I mean,
- 6:53Speaker 5: we've seen that. So it's it's how you're playing late
- 6:57Speaker 5: in the year, so you know, but it's sure is
- 7:00Speaker 5: fun to watch them.
- 7:01Speaker 4: And look, they had fresh corner in the bullpen, and
- 7:05Speaker 4: you say, if you can get to the closer, you
- 7:06Speaker 4: know they have one of those guys. Right, they needed
- 7:09Speaker 4: someone from the bullpen, and Gavin Lynes has been that person, right,
- 7:13Speaker 4: he has stepped up and filled that hole. Now, I
- 7:18Speaker 4: believe pitching is almost as contagious as hitting. And so
- 7:23Speaker 4: when you get people going well and you see what
- 7:26Speaker 4: Western Boss did right, and nobody has questioned Sedeo's stuff ever,
- 7:35Speaker 4: even when he was giving up six runs a game,
- 7:37Speaker 4: he was striking out six and seven batters, which tells
- 7:40Speaker 4: you he has stuff, but his location wasn't good. Aiden
- 7:43Speaker 4: Simms has been terrific. You know, he's seven and zero.
- 7:47Speaker 4: So you've got pieces there.
- 7:51Speaker 6: You have got more.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Than just potential people that have shown you what they
- 7:56Speaker 4: can do. You have Moss continue to do that, Sims
- 8:01Speaker 4: continue to do that. You get Cedeo who was who
- 8:04Speaker 4: was decent, you know, over the weekend, and and then.
- 8:10Speaker 6: They're not going to stop hitting. I don't think they may.
- 8:13Speaker 4: They they may find a pitcher who shuts them down
- 8:17Speaker 4: on a Friday or Saturday, because that's just what the
- 8:19Speaker 4: league is and that's what pitching does. But but I
- 8:23Speaker 4: don't I don't see this team like nine games from now,
- 8:27Speaker 4: we're going, well, what happened that we're hitting so well
- 8:29Speaker 4: in the middle of the year. You got Currell and
- 8:33Speaker 4: that's I mean that top of the order is the best.
- 8:35Speaker 7: And I love the PARTI too. Guy the freshman, oh
- 8:39Speaker 7: my gosh, he is is a franchise at Wilson.
- 8:41Speaker 1: How about Hacopian man, I mean, the guy takes a week.
- 8:44Speaker 4: We've all mentioned different players. We've just saw different mentioned
- 8:47Speaker 4: different players. What about Jorian Wilson he's fantastic.
- 8:51Speaker 6: I mean, this guy.
- 8:52Speaker 7: Looks about talent.
- 8:54Speaker 6: Holy smoked.
- 8:55Speaker 1: He didn't go oh for yesterday, so he shows he's human. Right,
- 8:58Speaker 1: Oh my?
- 9:00Speaker 6: Was it yesterday he threw the seed from right field though?
- 9:03Speaker 6: Or was that the day before before?
- 9:07Speaker 7: Pretty impressive?
- 9:08Speaker 6: Okay.
- 9:08Speaker 7: I got to give Mike Foreman a Victoria credit because
- 9:11Speaker 7: he told me, sess this guy's coming to and him
- 9:14Speaker 7: will seecause you got to watch this guy. And of
- 9:15Speaker 7: course here's how you can't judge a book or whatever.
- 9:19Speaker 7: He played in the in the Bombers League. He played
- 9:22Speaker 7: in the Bombers, which is wooden back. Yes, and he
- 9:24Speaker 7: was horrible. And why he was wouldn't battle do that?
- 9:27Speaker 7: You're coming out of high school and you're in a
- 9:28Speaker 7: they get to keep one guy, and I'm thinking, like,
- 9:31Speaker 7: you see how far he's come? Right now?
- 9:33Speaker 5: This is why I ceased writers as opposed to like
- 9:36Speaker 5: radio hosts like yourself will pro because I.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Think cees It was like, can't judge a book by whatever?
- 9:41Speaker 7: Right?
- 9:43Speaker 6: I like that you gotta be able to read it first.
- 9:45Speaker 4: You know, Well, he can't get away with that with
- 9:48Speaker 4: an editor, but I don't him.
- 9:50Speaker 6: I've never edited, which is why I'm still on the air.
- 9:53Speaker 6: If I was edited by the.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Things I've said, it wouldn't I wouldn't be here when
- 9:57Speaker 4: people say I need to edit many.
- 9:58Speaker 6: Times, I just want to.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Back in college, they said I had a face for
- 10:02Speaker 5: radio and a voice for newspapers.
- 10:04Speaker 6: There you go, you go.
- 10:06Speaker 4: That's what they said when I was on television. Maybe
- 10:09Speaker 4: you should try radio if you want to stay in
- 10:11Speaker 4: this business.
- 10:11Speaker 7: Bottom line, do what Rusty is, get a meal and
- 10:14Speaker 7: go to Aggie baseball game because it might take three
- 10:16Speaker 7: hours because they score so many runs, true, and they
- 10:19Speaker 7: take so many pitches. They got great eyes. You very
- 10:23Speaker 7: team like this. If it's three inches off the plate,
- 10:26Speaker 7: they're probably gonna take the pitch. And that's all of them.
- 10:28Speaker 7: And like I said, Grohope is in his element right now.
- 10:33Speaker 7: He's not getting cheated. No, no, And let's be honest, guys,
- 10:37Speaker 7: we've been around along. I don't care what team you
- 10:39Speaker 7: take when you go to LSU or what team they
- 10:42Speaker 7: have with your LSU and win. You're right, that is great.
- 10:45Speaker 6: That place was about what a third full yesterday.
- 10:48Speaker 4: I mean so here here and I meant to put
- 10:51Speaker 4: this on my great social media account, but I got busy.
- 10:55Speaker 7: But you forget things I do and I forget.
- 10:57Speaker 4: But but hey, A and M knocked out a football coach.
- 11:02Speaker 4: They helped knock out a basketball coach. I don't think
- 11:05Speaker 4: they're going to knock out the baseball coach, but they
- 11:08Speaker 4: sure it went a long way toward knocking out this
- 11:12Speaker 4: team for this season. Anyway, they'll take the A D
- 11:14Speaker 4: two because you know that's right, and he used to
- 11:18Speaker 4: be I mean they have. They have absolutely owned the Tigers.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Uh and happened very often. You got to enjoy it.
- 11:27Speaker 7: Yeah, and now they've added Texas Baseball, so you just
- 11:30Speaker 7: keep going exactly. I'm not afraid to just you know,
- 11:33Speaker 7: mushroom out a little bit.
- 11:34Speaker 1: You know.
- 11:34Speaker 5: I said early on that you know, and M ned
- 11:36Speaker 5: to go five and one to get South Carolina. Yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 5: and Vanderbilt. I had no idea that they would go
- 11:42Speaker 5: five and oh against Texas and l s U.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 11:45Speaker 7: I didn't have that in my Bengo call either. If
- 11:49Speaker 7: I if you'd have put a gun to my hand,
- 11:50Speaker 7: I had to go one, I'd probably go and five
- 11:52Speaker 7: before I go five and oh.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't.
- 11:56Speaker 4: I'm going to get your you guys opinion on this,
- 11:58Speaker 4: because again, the weather's Iffy tomorrow. I don't know, and
- 12:02Speaker 4: I didn't know this because I don't pay close enough
- 12:04Speaker 4: attention that they had moved the start of the game
- 12:06Speaker 4: from six o'clock on the original calendar to three o'clock
- 12:09Speaker 4: about six weeks ago.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Right, that was from Muster.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Okay, that makes a lot more since I didn't I
- 12:17Speaker 4: think Mustard's been around a while, so I'm not sure
- 12:19Speaker 4: why they didn't figure that out, you know, to begin with.
- 12:22Speaker 1: But they also.
- 12:25Speaker 7: Social calendar.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not sure how badly they want to play
- 12:32Speaker 4: this game tomorrow because they're flying out Thursday right to
- 12:35Speaker 4: go to Florida. Uh, they certainly right now don't have
- 12:40Speaker 4: to play it. You know, six weeks ago I realized
- 12:42Speaker 4: this was a game.
- 12:43Speaker 6: You know that they.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Probably want to play that midweek game. They have done
- 12:48Speaker 4: well except for the Southwest Texas game. They've been amazing
- 12:51Speaker 4: in midweek games. They've helped build the resume. Last year
- 12:56Speaker 4: they got left out because of midweek games, and not
- 12:59Speaker 4: necessarily that last horrible series with Missouri that didn't help,
- 13:03Speaker 4: but the midweek games certainly didn't help. My point is,
- 13:07Speaker 4: I don't know how hard they will try. I guarantee,
- 13:10Speaker 4: And you mentioned Mustard. They're not gonna sit around nine
- 13:13Speaker 4: hours tomorrow now, and they're not They're not gonna let
- 13:17Speaker 4: They're not gonna let Texas San Antonio get on the
- 13:20Speaker 4: bus at ten or eleven in the morning either if
- 13:22Speaker 4: they think there's still you know, seventy eighty percent chance
- 13:26Speaker 4: of rain during the afternoon.
- 13:28Speaker 7: Wasn't that one year Slashnega basically canceled the Sam Houston
- 13:32Speaker 7: game or whatever and they end up going to College
- 13:34Speaker 7: World Series?
- 13:35Speaker 6: Correct?
- 13:35Speaker 7: I mean, once again, is you gotta look at you?
- 13:37Speaker 6: You're right they canceled that game. Since I remember that.
- 13:39Speaker 7: I think you've got a point there.
- 13:41Speaker 6: If you're you're ear.
- 13:43Speaker 4: They don't need to play Its my biggest point. I
- 13:45Speaker 4: think they don't need to play that game. Not saying
- 13:49Speaker 4: they won't if they can, but they don't need to.
- 13:51Speaker 6: And I think, and I.
- 13:52Speaker 7: Don't know if you need to play in any kind
- 13:54Speaker 7: of bad weather, if it's kind of drink.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Exactly, why would you Why would you risk that either?
- 14:00Speaker 4: So we'll see we're supposed to have the game on.
- 14:03Speaker 4: I mean, you just leave, leave your your radio on
- 14:08Speaker 4: eleven fifty and you'll figure out what happens.
- 14:11Speaker 7: You get the best of Chip.
- 14:13Speaker 5: That was the Maybe one of the most amazing things
- 14:16Speaker 5: that I saw numbers wise, is if you look at one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
- 14:21Speaker 5: nine and m's top nine on base percentages.
- 14:25Speaker 1: The lowest is four thirty three. Wow, the lowest.
- 14:30Speaker 7: One out of two's amazing.
- 14:32Speaker 1: And Bear Harrison is still over five hundred this laten season.
- 14:36Speaker 4: He's been on thirteen games in a row. But that's
- 14:39Speaker 4: not as much as is it. It's not gonna get
- 14:42Speaker 4: this right. Who's who has been on for like.
- 14:47Speaker 6: Every game this season? Who him?
- 14:50Speaker 7: But the short stuff somebody was was you wouldn't think,
- 14:53Speaker 7: but you better look at the notes.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Okay, I will, But but one of those nine has
- 14:58Speaker 4: been on base cal he missed.
- 15:01Speaker 6: He must have missed a game this weekend.
- 15:03Speaker 4: He has reached base safely in thirty seven of thirty
- 15:06Speaker 4: eight games.
- 15:07Speaker 7: I did remember that, right, But that's pretty good. And
- 15:09Speaker 7: that's like, that's like your freshman guy.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a freshman guy who's usually up there swinging
- 15:13Speaker 4: at most things.
- 15:14Speaker 6: Right, that's pretty good.
- 15:16Speaker 7: Just amazing batting or bottom line.
- 15:18Speaker 6: He's the Evan Carter of the Aggies.
- 15:20Speaker 5: Resting Jordan Wilson is the lowest among the guys that
- 15:26Speaker 5: play a lot at three sixty nine, obp Okay, back.
- 15:30Speaker 7: He'll work.
- 15:30Speaker 4: But he's hitting three sixteen, so yeah, you can't fault
- 15:33Speaker 4: him for that.
- 15:34Speaker 7: And he's hitting some four sixteen trucks.
- 15:36Speaker 6: Yes, he is the lowest.
- 15:38Speaker 4: The lowest batting average is Harrison, who we just said
- 15:43Speaker 4: is on base every game.
- 15:45Speaker 6: At two sixty four.
- 15:46Speaker 1: He leads the team.
- 15:48Speaker 5: OBP Right, a bomb yesterday, Yeah, hit a bomb yesterdays home.
- 15:53Speaker 6: Run, Yeah, I mean things are looking up.
- 15:56Speaker 5: I think, you know, it's not eighty nine esque offense,
- 16:00Speaker 5: but it's it's it might be ninety nine esque without
- 16:04Speaker 5: the you know, the the bats that were like, you know,
- 16:07Speaker 5: all you had to do is in a pop flowdy
- 16:08Speaker 5: dodn't hit a bunch of pop flies that went out, yeah,
- 16:11Speaker 5: because the bats were so different.
- 16:13Speaker 6: So here's what you know.
- 16:14Speaker 4: We talked in March because March was was really mild,
- 16:19Speaker 4: and there were a lot more March games with the
- 16:22Speaker 4: wind blowing from the south than normal. Usually they're hitting
- 16:26Speaker 4: into a north wind about half of March, right, and
- 16:29Speaker 4: they didn't have that this this month of March.
- 16:33Speaker 6: And you're thinking, well, some of some.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Of these stats are elevated, right, because the south wind
- 16:39Speaker 4: has been blowing. But it doesn't seem to matter which
- 16:42Speaker 4: way the wind is blowing or what the weather it is.
- 16:45Speaker 4: They're still hitting the baseball.
- 16:47Speaker 7: No, they are, and they're doing in the SEC where
- 16:49Speaker 7: everybody's night pitcher, where you got first round draft picks.
- 16:53Speaker 7: When that's why ESPN was here. Uh, that's why they
- 16:56Speaker 7: were down at esp at LSU in eighty nine. That's
- 17:01Speaker 7: a great team, but they weren't playing against every week
- 17:04Speaker 7: the kind of pitching your scene in the SEC, as
- 17:07Speaker 7: I mentioned, the next three teams they're playing or either
- 17:11Speaker 7: one spot behind them in the RPI or hit you
- 17:13Speaker 7: you're playing teams and Nearly said this in his post game,
- 17:17Speaker 7: everybody's got talent. It's on your team, jails, who steps up?
- 17:21Speaker 7: And right now, if you listen to the postgame once again,
- 17:25Speaker 7: Grovic said the best they're playing with a lot of confidence.
- 17:27Speaker 7: You're a baseball player, and that's pretty obvious. And that
- 17:30Speaker 7: ball starts looking a little bigger, he's not missing, and
- 17:34Speaker 7: suddenly the pitchers are hitting their spots. When you look, you.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Know, well, the other thing is that you know we
- 17:39Speaker 5: talked earlier in the season about how many home runs
- 17:41Speaker 5: the Aggies were giving up right, yes, and if you
- 17:44Speaker 5: look at the numbers now they've out homerd their opponents.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Eight to fifty five. Yeah, which is amazing. That's pretty
- 17:50Speaker 6: good where they started, right, all right, If you've tuned.
- 17:53Speaker 4: In and thank your watches off, it's not We've got

- 19:49Speaker 4: It's the Writer's Roundtable on a Monday, presented by Intech and.
- 19:57Speaker 6: CESE. You are, mister Baron White.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Uh, let's let's get a let's get a post game
- 20:03Speaker 4: react aside from the horrible injury that it wasn't worth
- 20:07Speaker 4: playing that game to get Damien Samford hurt.
- 20:10Speaker 7: That being said is and are putting a column from
- 20:13Speaker 7: Mars like if they wouldn't have had it, they'd had
- 20:16Speaker 7: had had a real physical scrimmage. You go back two
- 20:19Speaker 7: years ago. Uh, Ruben Owens was had a season injury
- 20:24Speaker 7: to scream scrimmage. You go back to Baylor Cup was
- 20:27Speaker 7: a tight end five years ago. He had had a season.
- 20:30Speaker 6: And I know injuries happened. I get it.
- 20:32Speaker 7: You got physical stuff. Don't get me wrong. The number
- 20:35Speaker 7: one thing I took out of the Ruin and White
- 20:39Speaker 7: game is Horton is always said to be he made
- 20:43Speaker 7: two catches with people all over him that I'm just
- 20:48Speaker 7: sitting there and go, how did Alabama let him get
- 20:52Speaker 7: out of the state? Because everybody I thought Mike Evans
- 20:56Speaker 7: right away, I mean, yes, you want to buy wow,
- 20:59Speaker 7: that just can long ball like that long right? And
- 21:02Speaker 7: he came in afterwards, don't give you wrong.
- 21:04Speaker 1: So he's a future NFL Hall of Famer.
- 21:06Speaker 7: Well, I'm just saying this all. You can go with
- 21:08Speaker 7: what you saw. But you're right, I don't care who
- 21:11Speaker 7: you are if I'm basically all over you and you
- 21:15Speaker 7: still catch the football. I mean, the guy was.
- 21:17Speaker 4: All over And we say this, We've been saying this
- 21:19Speaker 4: for like seven eight years.
- 21:21Speaker 6: Wednesday and then gonna have.
- 21:22Speaker 4: And they've they've had, they've had that now a little
- 21:25Speaker 4: bit the last year and a half. But Wednesday and
- 21:27Speaker 4: them gonna get one of those sec receivers like we
- 21:29Speaker 4: see on every other team that's six floor that goes
- 21:32Speaker 4: out and wins every fifty to fifty ball. Right, we
- 21:35Speaker 4: haven't seen that a lot for a while, and now
- 21:39Speaker 4: we are seeing it and see you just you just
- 21:41Speaker 4: mentioned Horton and it's it's like he.
- 21:44Speaker 7: Makes your whole team perk up a little bit when
- 21:46Speaker 7: you got a guy like catch a ball like that,
- 21:48Speaker 7: because in today's football, from the pee wee up. If
- 21:52Speaker 7: you're open, you should be able to catch the ball,
- 21:54Speaker 7: and the guys open to quarterback should be able to find. Yeah,
- 21:57Speaker 7: we know there's other circumstances, but in your pressure because
- 22:01Speaker 7: it comes with the blitz when you throw a ball
- 22:03Speaker 7: up for grounds and you've got a guy like that
- 22:06Speaker 7: can catch it thirty forty yards down.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Has they and them had one since Evans like that?
- 22:11Speaker 7: Well, you know, you start throwing names out. I can't
- 22:13Speaker 7: remember a big physical receiver. It looks like he's that good.
- 22:17Speaker 7: I mean, he's gonna be that. I think that's who
- 22:19Speaker 7: he's gonna be. I can't remember one that's you know,
- 22:23Speaker 7: and it's it all runs.
- 22:24Speaker 6: I remember off the top of my head.
- 22:27Speaker 5: I can only remember Robert Ferguson and Mike Evans's.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I think about Rodway.
- 22:31Speaker 7: You know, man, they're not covered. Just throw the ball.
- 22:34Speaker 6: Yeah, they've had a lot of great receivers. They've had
- 22:37Speaker 6: a lot guys playing.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Yeah, guy's playing in the NFL.
- 22:40Speaker 5: Yes, you know, and they had two really good ones
- 22:42Speaker 5: last year with Cravens and Concepcio, but not like that,
- 22:46Speaker 5: not like they weren't those tools.
- 22:48Speaker 6: So he's the one that, for you was the star
- 22:51Speaker 6: on Saturday.
- 22:52Speaker 7: Without a doubt. Yeah, and you saw, Okay, you have
- 22:55Speaker 7: to laugh like Houston Thomas, I'm laughing, but he's wide hope.
- 22:59Speaker 7: But he's gonna catch the He's a big tight end,
- 23:01Speaker 7: you know, and once again is if that guy's opened
- 23:03Speaker 7: by eight yards, reed, better not be missing them or
- 23:07Speaker 7: else you got problems there. I'm looking at plays that
- 23:09Speaker 7: you can make like that. And it was that was
- 23:12Speaker 7: that was, that was the only thing, because if I
- 23:16Speaker 7: don't get anything else.
- 23:17Speaker 6: Out of the kickers, kick some field goals.
- 23:19Speaker 7: Got kickers. The one guy Punny wasn't great hit it
- 23:22Speaker 7: from fifty three yards that could have getting sixty three yards.
- 23:25Speaker 7: And he was the freshman. He's not the kid from Illinois, right,
- 23:28Speaker 7: But let's be honest, and luckily, you know, does take
- 23:31Speaker 7: a genius you know, to be making thirteen meal like
- 23:33Speaker 7: Mike Elchott to know they needed a kicker, yep, or
- 23:36Speaker 7: they needed a big guy that they went out on them.
- 23:38Speaker 6: Yeah, you got you have to have that.
- 23:39Speaker 7: And the kicker you couldn't go to the bathroom. You
- 23:42Speaker 7: went to the bathroom sometimes where you're sitting the way
- 23:44Speaker 7: A and M kicked the ball and so this way,
- 23:46Speaker 7: now you got somebody from fifty in should make it
- 23:49Speaker 7: ninety percent.
- 23:50Speaker 6: Of the time.
- 23:50Speaker 5: Yeah, that Miami game, I mean you're missing thirty yard
- 23:53Speaker 5: field goals and you know the wind was whipping all
- 23:56Speaker 5: kinds of crazy.
- 23:57Speaker 7: Kidn't do that. They had two guys did that, So
- 23:59Speaker 7: that that's what I took out of it, other than
- 24:01Speaker 7: the fact is they moved off for bad weather and
- 24:04Speaker 7: it rained a little bit, and uh, everybody had a
- 24:08Speaker 7: good time, except as you mentioned Sanford. Yeah, you hate
- 24:10Speaker 7: to see an injury like that when a game. Everybody's
- 24:13Speaker 7: out there trying to have fun and that.
- 24:16Speaker 4: It's just it's what I was talking a tray a bet.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Thats far we went on the air. And the thing
- 24:21Speaker 4: about spring football to me has always been this, if
- 24:25Speaker 4: the offense looks really good, you don't know if if
- 24:27Speaker 4: the defense sucks or the defense you know, is stuffing
- 24:30Speaker 4: the offense on every play, You're going, well, that defense
- 24:33Speaker 4: is really good. You don't know if the offense sucks.
- 24:35Speaker 4: It's a little bit hard to gauge that. The only
- 24:38Speaker 4: thing sees that I've ever looked at it spring. And
- 24:41Speaker 4: you just mentioned Horton, who pops? Who are the athletes
- 24:46Speaker 4: on the field that, no matter what's going on, you
- 24:49Speaker 4: look and go, man, that's that's an athlete.
- 24:51Speaker 8: You know.
- 24:53Speaker 4: I don't you know, I hesitate to go back to
- 24:56Speaker 4: the fran era, but but back when I was going
- 24:59Speaker 4: to the Rude and White games.
- 25:01Speaker 6: They made a big.
- 25:01Speaker 4: Deal of that, and you're looking out there, going, man,
- 25:05Speaker 4: this team is slow, No, seriously, right, And that's you know,
- 25:11Speaker 4: I'm not a talent scout or an evaluator or any
- 25:15Speaker 4: of that, but I've followed football long enough to know
- 25:17Speaker 4: about who's athletic and who can run and who's pretty physical.
- 25:22Speaker 4: And then you look and you go, man, those guys
- 25:25Speaker 4: aren't running very well.
- 25:26Speaker 5: Brand wanted to put fifty pounds of muscle off everybody, Yes, yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 5: and he really wanted it to be upper body bench
- 25:33Speaker 5: press muscle. Yes, which does nothing for it?
- 25:36Speaker 7: Did it?
- 25:37Speaker 6: Just you know that part of it. You looked and go,
- 25:41Speaker 6: I don't know where the athletes are coming from.
- 25:43Speaker 5: And he had he inherited some athletes and made them
- 25:46Speaker 5: less of an athlete. I remember Warring, Uh, not Ty Warren,
- 25:51Speaker 5: but the other was it Jesse war Who was it?
- 25:54Speaker 1: You know how I'm talking about linebacker? Yeah? Well they
- 25:58Speaker 1: had worn and he was a better athlete.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Under RC than he was under a friend of that
- 26:04Speaker 5: stock well, because he put so much weight on r
- 26:08Speaker 5: and it was muscle.
- 26:09Speaker 6: But he made him a less of an athlete.
- 26:11Speaker 7: Yeah, it got fran out to the golf course a
- 26:14Speaker 7: lot quicker.
- 26:14Speaker 1: And yeah, exactly.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Look, I didn't want to have a discourse on that,
- 26:19Speaker 4: but I'm just I was making a point about you
- 26:22Speaker 4: know what you take out of spring football as an
- 26:26Speaker 4: as an average fan, right, and you.
- 26:28Speaker 7: Can see A and M's got a lot more talented.
- 26:30Speaker 7: And this is another reason why you hold it. I
- 26:32Speaker 7: think A and M had like twenty two or twenty
- 26:34Speaker 7: four players out. Yes, so that once again is and
- 26:38Speaker 7: those are usually better players. You want to thank you
- 26:43Speaker 7: Toyler or somewhere like, yes, yes, but you but they're
- 26:47Speaker 7: so deep and like you said, Jip, just just take
- 26:50Speaker 7: a little bit out of it, because I always remember
- 26:53Speaker 7: when Mike Sherman's first year, you went out and mcgin
- 26:56Speaker 7: and them, We're going up and down the field. I
- 26:57Speaker 7: watched every pair is going to score somebody boys.
- 27:00Speaker 6: Yeah, was horrible.
- 27:02Speaker 7: They couldn't stop on you.
- 27:03Speaker 6: You did not get to go to the Hall of
- 27:06Speaker 6: Fame induction.
- 27:06Speaker 7: I don't think well, as a matter of fact, as
- 27:09Speaker 7: you mentioned that, because I had to.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Write you were covered anyway, who was that Texas Miller
- 27:14Speaker 4: or Hall of Fame induction? When von Miller went in
- 27:16Speaker 4: fact and wakem.
- 27:17Speaker 7: Just listening to the take before I left about him
- 27:20Speaker 7: going in. Yeah, do something about that tomorrow. But yeah,
- 27:22Speaker 7: Vaughn went in, So that's always good to get one
- 27:24Speaker 7: more Aggie in.
- 27:25Speaker 6: Yeah, Texas Sports. Well, I know you're on the on the.
- 27:29Speaker 7: Boy Williams and John Hike. Don't give those guys chicken farmer. Yeah, okay,
- 27:34Speaker 7: a good chick and called Vaughn's vision. He's young, young
- 27:39Speaker 7: people who need glasses like you and me, well, at
- 27:41Speaker 7: least me.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I needed to read.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Uh yeah, I mean I'm always interested in that. And
- 27:47Speaker 4: who goes in and who.
- 27:48Speaker 7: Doesn't go in? And then and uh they had a
- 27:51Speaker 7: barrel Hall of Fame barrel raceler. Gary Patterson evidently was
- 27:56Speaker 7: a big hit going in by what I was able
- 27:58Speaker 7: to read, and the crowd whatever we're in, Gary's quite personal.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Needless to say, Gary is out now at USC correct
- 28:06Speaker 4: with the visor. He's trying to say that he's trying
- 28:09Speaker 4: to save his job. No, he's trying to save not
- 28:12Speaker 4: Gary's job, trying to save you former head coach, the
- 28:17Speaker 4: head coaches job. It's okay, well we'll get it, but yes,
- 28:24Speaker 4: you're right, because if he if he could ever play defense.
- 28:28Speaker 7: Right, he's a great offensive quarterback at the hall.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Yeah, Visor, Yeah, Okay, we need a break. The writers
- 28:38Speaker 4: roundtable is here, yes for a Monday. We've got Astros
- 28:42Speaker 4: baseball coming up. You stay with us there and I
- 28:45Speaker 4: will tell you again. I will warn you tomorrow it's

- 32:23Speaker 6: Hey, welcome back.
- 32:24Speaker 4: It is the Writers Round Table for a Monday, brought
- 32:28Speaker 4: to you by Intech.
- 32:29Speaker 6: Rusty Berson.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Robert Cessna is with me while we're thinking about it,
- 32:33Speaker 4: because I'll forget. You were just talking about Bucky and
- 32:36Speaker 4: the transfer portal. The word came out today that Marcus
- 32:39Speaker 4: Hill is trying to get a waiver to get an
- 32:42Speaker 4: extra year. He's entered the transfer portal, but the word
- 32:46Speaker 4: is he is still willing to stay if the price
- 32:51Speaker 4: is right and if he gets that extra year. But
- 32:55Speaker 4: so far Bucky has added some pieces, still got a
- 32:59Speaker 4: little ways to go, but has added some pieces.
- 33:02Speaker 7: When I look at the Kansas State Guard and I'm thinking,
- 33:05Speaker 7: you're in his offense or his schemes, a guy that's
- 33:07Speaker 7: gonna go out and price score twenty.
- 33:09Speaker 6: He was a top five score last year, and I
- 33:10Speaker 6: get that right.
- 33:12Speaker 7: Top you gotta score twenty points every game that you
- 33:14Speaker 7: can twenty three.
- 33:16Speaker 6: Yeah, twenty three a game, but that's a lot.
- 33:18Speaker 7: He's gonna get more rest here at A and M though,
- 33:19Speaker 7: So yes, I'm going to give him there.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Talking about Haggardy man, that kid's a player.
- 33:24Speaker 6: Yeah, and you know.
- 33:25Speaker 5: He he is really the kind of guard A and
- 33:28Speaker 5: then was craving. He's a finisher, which A and M
- 33:32Speaker 5: did not have last year at the guard.
- 33:34Speaker 6: Yes, there's just.
- 33:36Speaker 5: No substitute, especially in the postseason, for a guard who
- 33:40Speaker 5: can finish.
- 33:41Speaker 7: Take the ball and finish.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's who Haggardy is.
- 33:44Speaker 5: And you know he's well, he got one year of eligibility,
- 33:47Speaker 5: but you know, it's one year at a time, exactly,
- 33:50Speaker 5: doesn't matter how many years he has.
- 33:52Speaker 6: You know, it's one year at a time.
- 33:53Speaker 1: And they got Kate Phillips, a big six nine kid
- 33:55Speaker 1: out Tennessee.
- 33:56Speaker 6: He's a load, he is.
- 33:58Speaker 1: You know, he's not a score.
- 33:59Speaker 6: They don't need the score. Uh.
- 34:02Speaker 5: It seems to me like what they apparently trying to
- 34:06Speaker 5: read tea leaves from Afar. They're really trying to get
- 34:10Speaker 5: Imbaco wrapped up because you know the threat is, you know,
- 34:16Speaker 5: you gotta recruit your own players, right.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So Mbacco is.
- 34:20Speaker 5: A really key piece to this. So if you got
- 34:24Speaker 5: Inmbacco and then Haggerty, you got kind of.
- 34:28Speaker 4: Read last week that he was he had lost out,
- 34:30Speaker 4: but he was in on like a seven footer, uh somewhere,
- 34:33Speaker 4: so I know he's still wanting you know, some height.
- 34:37Speaker 6: Absolutely, yeah, everybody, but hey.
- 34:39Speaker 7: Everyone, maybe right you didn't get him. Maybe that's why
- 34:41Speaker 7: I got Tennessee guy.
- 34:42Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I could be.
- 34:43Speaker 7: You never know. It'll tell you they didn't call you.
- 34:47Speaker 4: That guy is just he is just a presence in
- 34:49Speaker 4: the middle. He is a big body guy.
- 34:51Speaker 5: Yeah, not not a whole bunch of playing time last year,
- 34:55Speaker 5: but I mean with with with Tennessee.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Well they were huge up front whatever. I mean, they
- 34:59Speaker 4: we kate in good minutes. Unfortunately got hurt. I think
- 35:04Speaker 4: he was just kind of coming into getting used to
- 35:06Speaker 4: SEC play. Frankly, Uh, he's a load in the middle,
- 35:11Speaker 4: and they they've missed that.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Yeah, of course.
- 35:14Speaker 5: You know, you can read textaggs and those kinds of things,
- 35:16Speaker 5: and they'll speculate when you're following like they in basketball page.
- 35:21Speaker 5: You only get the guys who are absolutely official. Yes,
- 35:24Speaker 5: and so right now what they're releasing is Haggarty and
- 35:28Speaker 5: Phillips there's some other guys that they're real close on
- 35:32Speaker 5: I understand.
- 35:32Speaker 4: And today they I think they they did release up
- 35:35Speaker 4: the Tennessee they did.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, right, that's the kid Kate Phillips.
- 35:40Speaker 6: Correct. But there's a kid from Radcliffe who have they
- 35:43Speaker 6: not released that they think so formal?
- 35:46Speaker 1: Okay, I've seen it on you know other Did he not.
- 35:49Speaker 4: Play for Bucky at Samford? Is that the same thing
- 35:52Speaker 4: he did the same kids? That's the kid who played
- 35:54Speaker 4: same Yeah, yeah, okay.
- 35:56Speaker 5: And so I think that they're really excited about him
- 35:58Speaker 5: because he's day one guy, like he knows the system
- 36:02Speaker 5: for resting the start.
- 36:03Speaker 7: It's a little bit different from checks in the mouth
- 36:05Speaker 7: that checks in the bank account.
- 36:08Speaker 6: You're right, You're you're I'm slot right.
- 36:13Speaker 7: He has proven that he's a pretty good go getter.
- 36:16Speaker 1: So yeah, wait and see wi dress Bucky's gonna get
- 36:18Speaker 1: it done.
- 36:19Speaker 4: We were talking about this off the air because they
- 36:22Speaker 4: were showing some highlights. But yes, I'm probably the only
- 36:27Speaker 4: one that was tuned in to Boston and Buffalo last
- 36:31Speaker 4: night in the first playoff game in Buffalo like fifteen years.
- 36:35Speaker 4: So I'm watching the game because I love playoff hockey.
- 36:40Speaker 4: I told you this on Friday, that it doesn't matter
- 36:43Speaker 4: what game you watch. Just pick a game and don't
- 36:46Speaker 4: just turn it on for three minutes and say, oh
- 36:48Speaker 4: I don't get this game. You need to watch a
- 36:52Speaker 4: substantial amount of what's going on, like last night any
- 36:56Speaker 4: other And frankly, if there'd been something else, I may
- 37:00Speaker 4: have flipped. But Boston dominated Buffalo's their first home playoff,
- 37:04Speaker 4: the first playoff game period about fifteen years Okay, and
- 37:07Speaker 4: they're playing at home.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Did you see the preseason where the fans are out there.
- 37:10Speaker 5: They had the tackling dummy, the Boston Bruins tackling now
- 37:13Speaker 5: and the Buffalo fans were just so they.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Were so it was thirty six degrees last night outside
- 37:19Speaker 4: of Buffalo. I think there were more fans outside than
- 37:23Speaker 4: in the arena last night, of course, but.
- 37:27Speaker 1: They're used to that buff they are.
- 37:29Speaker 6: They are. It was like a spring day.
- 37:32Speaker 4: It was a spring day, right, So the Buncos they
- 37:35Speaker 4: had their shirts off. There was a lot of beer
- 37:37Speaker 4: being consumed. As you might suspect, it's just too to
- 37:40Speaker 4: nothing Boston. And uh, the Boston goaltender is just brilliant.
- 37:44Speaker 4: He has allowed nothing. Uh, buffaloed out shot Boston by twice,
- 37:49Speaker 4: but they can't get anything past this guys too.
- 37:51Speaker 6: I think he's seven minutes left. This game's over.
- 37:53Speaker 4: The crowd is dead, and Buffalo got a goal, and
- 37:57Speaker 4: you're going, oh, and the crowd perked up.
- 37:59Speaker 6: Now it's two to one. Three minutes later they get
- 38:02Speaker 6: the tying goal.
- 38:03Speaker 4: Now it's two to two, and the crowd is just
- 38:06Speaker 4: beside themselves. Fifty two seconds later they get the go
- 38:11Speaker 4: ahead goal. So they got three goals in about four minutes,
- 38:16Speaker 4: and then with about two minutes left, Boston has to
- 38:20Speaker 4: pull its goalie.
- 38:20Speaker 6: They're down three to two.
- 38:21Speaker 4: They pull a goalie, Buffalo gets an empty nut goal.
- 38:25Speaker 4: They got four goals in like four and a half minutes,
- 38:28Speaker 4: and the place is just delirious. They say, it's literally shaking,
- 38:33Speaker 4: it is so loud. This is why I watch playoff
- 38:37Speaker 4: hockey because you just you don't know what's gonna happen.
- 38:41Speaker 5: It's reminiscent of the Bills versus the Oilers.
- 38:44Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, there you go. Yeah, spoken like a guy
- 38:48Speaker 6: who lived through that. I mean, we all remember the.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Guy who can't stand any Houston team.
- 38:53Speaker 7: I watched the highlights last night. Randy Andy Roff said
- 38:56Speaker 7: that him and the players. They could feel the buildings.
- 39:00Speaker 7: And I say, anytime you're in the building these days
- 39:02Speaker 7: and you can feel it ship.
- 39:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:04Speaker 7: And to prove your point, I came home last night
- 39:06Speaker 7: I've forgot off work and it was ending up the
- 39:08Speaker 7: first period and I watched Vegas play Utah.
- 39:11Speaker 6: And I knew Vegas should win that series to come back.
- 39:15Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 39:15Speaker 4: There except for the Stars, they're all closed.
- 39:19Speaker 7: So when you started watching hockey, even if you don't
- 39:21Speaker 7: know the teams, you can see a play with Nidge
- 39:24Speaker 7: when it comes. Oh my goodness, gracious, are great because.
- 39:28Speaker 4: So last week I tuned in and the Stars in
- 39:30Speaker 4: Buffalo were playing the final regular season game, right, and
- 39:34Speaker 4: I'm just going, man, they do not want to be here.
- 39:37Speaker 4: You know, both teams are, they're they're getting ready for
- 39:39Speaker 4: the playoffs. They're not going to gain anything by winning
- 39:43Speaker 4: or losing.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Stars look like in the opening game of the playoffs.
- 39:47Speaker 6: Yeah, but they came back and what.
- 39:50Speaker 4: The Stars came back and won against Buffalo last week.
- 39:53Speaker 5: But looking like that in the opening game, Yeah, exactly.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, they they by this. We'll just phone
- 40:01Speaker 4: in game one and keep everybody healthy and confident because
- 40:05Speaker 4: they cannot good gosh, they did not know the playoffs started.
- 40:09Speaker 7: They didn't see your social p No, they did not.
- 40:12Speaker 4: And Minnesota hates Dallas because you know, they stole their
- 40:16Speaker 4: team and Dallas doesn't really care about Minnesota. And Minnesota
- 40:20Speaker 4: hasn't won a first round game, and I don't know
- 40:24Speaker 4: how long they haven't won.
- 40:25Speaker 7: They've lost a lot of series because my editors from Minnesota.
- 40:28Speaker 7: I think he said, like, note.
- 40:30Speaker 4: I think that sounds about right. Oh, that sounds about right. Okay, Well,
- 40:34Speaker 4: Dallas always loses the first game. Uh they did last year.
- 40:39Speaker 6: Several times they came back to Colorado.
- 40:42Speaker 1: And came back in won in game seven, right, yes,
- 40:44Speaker 1: last year?
- 40:44Speaker 6: Yes?
- 40:45Speaker 1: Okay, yes, well as you win.
- 40:47Speaker 6: H well, yeah, as long as you win.
- 40:49Speaker 1: But you'd rather not go seven. If you'd rather not go.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Seven, number one, number two, you'd rather not see your goaltender.
- 40:56Speaker 6: And again not all his fault. Attinger was awful in
- 41:00Speaker 6: the game.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Well, but but the whole team was terrible. You know,
- 41:04Speaker 4: the first two goals he gave up for sure, he
- 41:08Speaker 4: had nothing to do with, right, they're just it's.
- 41:10Speaker 6: A shooting gallery. And in fact, I'd argue he kept
- 41:14Speaker 6: them fairly close.
- 41:16Speaker 1: I think he was good early on, but he fell apart.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Well he did, there's no question he did, but hey,
- 41:22Speaker 4: he had a lot of help falling apart.
- 41:25Speaker 15: You know.
- 41:25Speaker 5: It's like you were saying about Buffalo and that that
- 41:28Speaker 5: goalie was incredible.
- 41:29Speaker 7: He was.
- 41:30Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't see the game. It's the game.
- 41:32Speaker 5: I saw the highlights like you, but it was like wow,
- 41:35Speaker 5: just keeping them in the game. So I really thought
- 41:39Speaker 5: maybe it was two years ago Anger would be was
- 41:41Speaker 5: gonna on the verge of being elite.
- 41:43Speaker 1: I'm not sure he's there.
- 41:44Speaker 6: Anybody has not been there.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I'm afraid.
- 41:47Speaker 7: Always, like goalies or a little bit like relief pictures,
- 41:50Speaker 7: they have great years and then they could fall apart.
- 41:52Speaker 6: I heard they're like starting pictures.
- 41:54Speaker 5: I heard from Anger comparison today that I thought it
- 41:57Speaker 5: was listening to DFW Sports Radio, so it's all DFW. Right, Yeah,
- 42:01Speaker 5: Well they said, you know, Adams, youres guy who can
- 42:04Speaker 5: win the Stanley Cup, but you're not gonna win because
- 42:06Speaker 5: of him, in much the same way that they think
- 42:10Speaker 5: that Dak is capable of winning Super Bowl, but they're
- 42:13Speaker 5: not gonna not gonna be because of him, right, I mean,
- 42:16Speaker 5: he's he's average enough. We've seen average NFL quarterbacks win
- 42:21Speaker 5: a super Bowl and actually, but but there there has
- 42:25Speaker 5: to be something super about the other team.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I mean the other elements of the team.
- 42:29Speaker 7: I argue to you, back and look at my Steelers.
- 42:32Speaker 7: The last two super Bowls, eight won. Roethlisberger didn't have
- 42:35Speaker 7: great great sat right, I mean it was other places.
- 42:37Speaker 7: I thought he was a pretty but they didn't win
- 42:41Speaker 7: those super Bowls because of him. They won with him.
- 42:44Speaker 7: And uh, you can go back and there's a lot
- 42:47Speaker 7: of super Bowl teams like that, these not not. I
- 42:50Speaker 7: guess the last few few years, you better have a quarterback.
- 42:53Speaker 7: It's it's just the way the game has evolved. It's
- 42:55Speaker 7: tough to have all the other pieces in place, you know.
- 42:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean there's like top of your head, you know,
- 43:03Speaker 5: you can think of the Maverick's got.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Trent Dilford, I mean, Brad Johnson.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Brad Johnson was not I hate to say this, but
- 43:10Speaker 4: Peyton Banning is last superman.
- 43:13Speaker 6: He wasn't real good. Yeah, he wasn't.
- 43:16Speaker 7: He wasn't real good.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I mean we've seen it. But you typically you need
- 43:24Speaker 1: a really good goal.
- 43:25Speaker 6: You better have a good go later you go winn
- 43:26Speaker 6: the Stanley Cup.
- 43:27Speaker 7: Yeah, went and got saffered a Super Bowl.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Yeah uh but by the way, your your Penguins kind
- 43:35Speaker 4: of started out like not not as terrible as the Stars.
- 43:38Speaker 7: Florida Panthers won the last two suits, last two standards
- 43:41Speaker 7: because they're a great uh no doubt, I forget he
- 43:44Speaker 7: is now, but a great.
- 43:45Speaker 6: Babovsky Yeah yeah, I na that. Don't let me try spell.
- 43:49Speaker 6: That's okay, but yeah, yeah, no you can spell. You can't.
- 43:52Speaker 7: Now my Penguins after being out for three years in
- 43:55Speaker 7: a row, they were badly out play They were by
- 43:59Speaker 7: the fly that first game. That being said, I'll take
- 44:03Speaker 7: it after not being a playoffs I get it.
- 44:06Speaker 4: But my problem is now the Stars been to three
- 44:08Speaker 4: straight Western Finals in a row, right, and they have
- 44:11Speaker 4: had to fight, and I mean fight to get to
- 44:15Speaker 4: those finals. And rusty the way the NHL has the
- 44:19Speaker 4: playoffs now and Gary Betman think it's great that the
- 44:22Speaker 4: Stars are playing the wild Well, the Stars bust their rear.
- 44:25Speaker 4: They had their second highest point total ever. They have
- 44:28Speaker 4: one hundred and two points and they end up playing
- 44:31Speaker 4: one of the top four teams in the whole NHL
- 44:34Speaker 4: in the first round. Because of this stupidity, the number
- 44:38Speaker 4: two seeds should be playing the number seven seed.
- 44:40Speaker 6: That's how it's supposed to work. That's the way.
- 44:42Speaker 4: No, not in the NFL. In the NHL, you got
- 44:45Speaker 4: to play the freaking Minnesota Wild, who have two players
- 44:49Speaker 4: that are Hall of Famers.
- 44:50Speaker 7: For their card.
- 44:51Speaker 6: Right, Oh my gosh.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Well that's what everybody feared about this, say exactly. And
- 44:56Speaker 1: I'm not saying that this series is over, Buddy Man.
- 44:58Speaker 6: No, Dallas must win. Yes, they have to win tonight.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:01Speaker 4: I mean it's like you really must win situation after
- 45:05Speaker 4: one game if you're the number two seed in your
- 45:08Speaker 4: in your conference.
- 45:09Speaker 1: These do not want to go down two to oh
- 45:11Speaker 1: and go back to go to Minnesota.
- 45:13Speaker 7: Okay, I studied East all the time. But right the
- 45:15Speaker 7: Wild's the wild card team. They didn't They didn't get
- 45:18Speaker 7: him by winning the division. Today.
- 45:19Speaker 4: They didn't win the division, I don't think. But oh
- 45:23Speaker 4: they were. I think they were in the Star's Division.
- 45:25Speaker 4: They finished third in the division.
- 45:27Speaker 7: So it's the.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Second and the third teams that are playing each other seats.
- 45:30Speaker 4: It's not the second, the seventh, the second and the third.
- 45:33Speaker 4: It's nuts, all right, we need to take a break.
- 45:35Speaker 4: The Astros Report brought to you by dpth Magic.

- 47:07Speaker 18: I like to focus on the fact that we fought

- 47:22Speaker 17: One positive note, Jordan Albarez hit his major league leading

- 48:55Speaker 4: We've got Astros Baseball coming your way here in about
- 48:58Speaker 4: fifteen minutes. Speaking of Astros and Major League Baseball.
- 49:05Speaker 6: The Astros aren't doing real well.
- 49:07Speaker 7: It's breaking my heart.
- 49:08Speaker 4: Yeah, it's killing us, just killing us. They're eight and fifteen.
- 49:13Speaker 4: They've lost twelve of fourteen. They have put another player
- 49:18Speaker 4: on the injured list, which is just pretty amazing when
- 49:22Speaker 4: you think about it, the injuries that they've they've had.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's kept me awaken that.
- 49:28Speaker 6: Yeah, me too. I'm sick about it.
- 49:30Speaker 7: I'm just sleeping.
- 49:31Speaker 4: I'm sick about the whole thing. But the ass Why
- 49:37Speaker 4: do I still think they're they're very much in the division. Well,
- 49:41Speaker 4: because the Rangers are eleven and eleven and the whole
- 49:44Speaker 4: league is five hundred except.
- 49:46Speaker 1: The eleven leading the division.
- 49:49Speaker 6: Yes, yeah, I know.
- 49:52Speaker 7: April twentieth, My Pirates are above five hundred. April were welcome.
- 49:58Speaker 7: We do the last scheme.
- 50:00Speaker 6: That's right. The Pirates are in Arlington Sea shot to
- 50:02Speaker 6: be going.
- 50:03Speaker 7: The last game. We lost Champa eight to seven, thirteen innings.
- 50:10Speaker 20: We had a four to zero lead with skiings on.
- 50:14Speaker 20: Oh good God, weather delight, so he can't go. But
- 50:18Speaker 20: eight runs we make four errors. Four of those eight
- 50:22Speaker 20: runs are on. We're horrible on defense. We cannot field
- 50:26Speaker 20: the ball.
- 50:27Speaker 4: That's the that's the curse of the Pirates sees when
- 50:30Speaker 4: Paul Skins gets rained out with a fort to nothing lead.
- 50:34Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I can't get worse.
- 50:35Speaker 7: And now was there walk? I do one thousand things
- 50:37Speaker 7: on salary, but I had a game track owner. I go, man,
- 50:40Speaker 7: don't rain that game out a four lead in the
- 50:43Speaker 7: fifth inning. I looked back a little.
- 50:45Speaker 4: Bit later, five four side.
- 50:48Speaker 7: If I go what happened? Then I don't watch it anymore.
- 50:51Speaker 7: At the end, I going normally cease.
- 50:54Speaker 6: I couldn't.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Kind of commiserate with you, but as a Rangers fan,
- 51:00Speaker 4: and I mean that sounds like most of the games
- 51:02Speaker 4: I've watched for you.
- 51:03Speaker 5: Know, I'm really enjoying the fact that the New York
- 51:07Speaker 5: Mets have lost eleven in a row.
- 51:09Speaker 7: You talk about winning, and how about that you get
- 51:11Speaker 7: a roller, you get it down, or you start losing.
- 51:14Speaker 5: Baby, It's uh, it's that one's heartbreaking too, and it
- 51:20Speaker 5: really is. It's further heartbreaking that Marcus Simeon is not
- 51:23Speaker 5: playing real well.
- 51:25Speaker 6: Okay, and.
- 51:27Speaker 4: That was a good trade. I'm not saying it wasn't.
- 51:29Speaker 4: But if you're watching yesterday, they had a little pop
- 51:33Speaker 4: fly in a shallow right field that Josh Smith screws
- 51:41Speaker 4: that they let drop.
- 51:42Speaker 5: I wasn't watching, but I was listening, Okay, Yes, and
- 51:46Speaker 5: I and and I told my wife, I said, look,
- 51:50Speaker 5: the Rangers had a gold glove second basement, and he was,
- 51:53Speaker 5: I mean, so.
- 51:54Speaker 4: They have given they have basically given up. It's it
- 51:58Speaker 4: reminds me of the old days, rusty. They've given up
- 52:01Speaker 4: some defense to get a little more offense. Yeah, and
- 52:04Speaker 4: I'm not saying they didn't have to, because their offense
- 52:07Speaker 4: last year was terrible and they are doing so smart.
- 52:10Speaker 6: Do you know who's.
- 52:11Speaker 5: Leading the American League in bad and average in April No,
- 52:16Speaker 5: he plays with Texas Rangers. Oh wow, And it's Josh
- 52:18Speaker 5: not Josh Nemo in April one.
- 52:22Speaker 1: It's a Josh Josh Young.
- 52:24Speaker 6: Yes, yes it is.
- 52:25Speaker 4: Josh Young had a heck of a last really, the
- 52:27Speaker 4: last two weeks of the month, he's really.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Been on fire, and his chase rate has gone.
- 52:31Speaker 6: From sixty one.
- 52:34Speaker 1: It's amazing.
- 52:35Speaker 6: I don't know, is he gonna revert back?
- 52:37Speaker 7: I hope not.
- 52:38Speaker 6: Well, I know. I mean, that's but that's a big
- 52:40Speaker 6: reason why the Rangers are walking more and more, they're.
- 52:43Speaker 4: Walking more, they're seeing more pitches, they're doing every know
- 52:46Speaker 4: what the manager asked them to do.
- 52:48Speaker 5: I saw I heard Luke kind of make a pun
- 52:50Speaker 5: on the Rangers lost two out three of Seattle.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I was like, we're we're ten and forty since twenty exactly.
- 52:56Speaker 1: I'll take one exactly. It's like, and they're four and
- 52:59Speaker 1: two because Theers this year.
- 53:01Speaker 5: I think they only won four games last year against them,
- 53:03Speaker 5: so I think they've.
- 53:04Speaker 6: All won four games total the last ten years. It
- 53:06Speaker 6: seems like it's basically the way to say with Oakland.
- 53:10Speaker 5: Oh yeah, the same with the Sacramento Ya, come on,
- 53:16Speaker 5: Las Vegas, Sacramento.
- 53:19Speaker 1: The Green and Gold team.
- 53:21Speaker 4: Playing at a Actually they're playing at a minor league park,
- 53:24Speaker 4: but it looks kind of more like a high school
- 53:26Speaker 4: stadium when you think it.
- 53:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and the wind on that last game wasulous.
- 53:31Speaker 4: It ceased less than fifteen thousand. I know they have
- 53:33Speaker 4: a burm in the outfield that they could probably you know,
- 53:35Speaker 4: put people in.
- 53:36Speaker 5: It's it's like fifteen thousand more than they needed in
- 53:39Speaker 5: Oakland though.
- 53:42Speaker 4: Well, it's about fourteen thousand more than they needed and
- 53:44Speaker 4: needed Sacramento from the looks of things, yeah, I don't
- 53:47Speaker 4: know if they're ever going to get that stadium built.
- 53:50Speaker 6: They started, they had started. I saw pictures today.
- 53:53Speaker 7: I know, kay, okay, good, it could be fake intelligence.
- 53:58Speaker 1: That's a scary thing.
- 54:00Speaker 6: Street from Andelay in Las Vegas.
- 54:02Speaker 5: And they actually get fans that they can start spending money.
- 54:05Speaker 4: I know that would well, I don't know, I think
- 54:07Speaker 4: they would, but but that would be scary.
- 54:08Speaker 5: By the way, Shade Lengeliers is the best catcher in
- 54:11Speaker 5: baseball well against Ranger.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Yes, I mean he is a good guy. Is unbelievable.
- 54:18Speaker 4: The Baylor guys are killers. Max Mounsey did it with
- 54:21Speaker 4: the Dodgers.
- 54:22Speaker 7: He has.
- 54:25Speaker 6: Had three runs, including the walk off some of.
- 54:30Speaker 7: Hall of Famer.
- 54:31Speaker 6: Remember when Baylor used to be pretty decent in baseball Baylor, Yeah,
- 54:34Speaker 6: that's a long time.
- 54:37Speaker 7: Yes, yes, now they've been a while. I have a
- 54:39Speaker 7: coach fill in the blank, who is he?
- 54:42Speaker 4: I mean, Houston used to be semi decent base price right,
- 54:46Speaker 4: Well we know Rice did.
- 54:48Speaker 7: I mean you can crackers?
- 54:50Speaker 6: Yeah, you can't. You can't replace a Hall of Famer.
- 54:53Speaker 7: I mean it's hard, it's hard to continue, but they don't.
- 54:56Speaker 7: It's amazing how you just take things.
- 54:58Speaker 4: From it is hard to replay Hall of Famer, which,
- 55:01Speaker 4: by the way, I said when Bruce Bochi left and
- 55:04Speaker 4: that you know, so far things are okay.
- 55:06Speaker 6: I like what the guy's doing. I'm not saying that
- 55:08Speaker 6: at all.
- 55:09Speaker 4: I'm just saying, let's let's let it play out.
- 55:13Speaker 6: See how the pitching is, how the team is responding
- 55:16Speaker 6: to him.
- 55:17Speaker 5: And when he said he came out right away, I said, guys,
- 55:21Speaker 5: we've got to cut down on the chase. They really
- 55:24Speaker 5: have ever since they have and they're walking more.
- 55:28Speaker 6: Yep, we'll see, we'll see.
- 55:30Speaker 1: I mean, it's baseball because the Rockies just beat the
- 55:32Speaker 1: Dodgers in a series.
- 55:34Speaker 6: Can you believe that?
- 55:35Speaker 1: I can.
- 55:35Speaker 7: It's baseball, right, Maybe you guys need to bring back
- 55:38Speaker 7: Tommy Lisorda.
- 55:40Speaker 6: Guys, thank you for coming in early. I think next
- 55:44Speaker 6: week is regular. I will let you know.
