- 2:13Speaker 3: I'm getting tagged on Twitter. I got guys in my mentions.
- 2:16Speaker 3: They're saying, oh, sherman. My wife leaned over to me
- 2:19Speaker 3: and said, Hey, when's Santa gonna build that pink jeep?
- 2:23Speaker 1: I saw somebody hit us up on Social they were
- 2:26Speaker 1: they were out in the garage trying to put that
- 2:28Speaker 1: thing together.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Face.

- 2:37Speaker 1: One couple of Christmases ago, when Rue was like when

- 2:47Speaker 2: And I'm like, hey, Dad, she's one. She can't she
- 2:50Speaker 2: can't be in this thing yet. Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 1: So I just sat in the garage for like an
- 2:53Speaker 1: entire year, and I'm like, well, all right, I'll just
- 2:55Speaker 1: pull this thing out of the box and we'll get it.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Go and open the box and all the parts are
- 2:58Speaker 2: laying there in the box. A bit. I gotta put
- 3:01Speaker 2: this thing together.
- 3:02Speaker 1: One sells niece or put the tires on wrong A
- 3:06Speaker 1: couple of times.
- 3:07Speaker 2: That is taking apart.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Son, Oh man, I interrupted your intro that we were
- 3:13Speaker 3: talking pt sikos. We were talking going to bwtv dot com.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Yeah, whether you're a veteran father in the game, whether
- 3:19Speaker 1: you're a new dad where you're an aspiring dad. We look,
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's just if we're a couple of dads with chef
- 3:26Speaker 1: Jack back there and Derek the funkle of the whole group,
- 3:29Speaker 1: we just it's basically like pulling up a chair in
- 3:32Speaker 1: the garage, ripping a couple of lollipops, maybe a couple
- 3:35Speaker 1: of butt lights, yeah, and just talking noise about our week,
- 3:38Speaker 1: the week that we had, and speaking of new dads,
- 3:41Speaker 1: I have a couple shoutouts, So there's a few ways
- 3:43Speaker 1: to engage with us. We love the community that we
- 3:45Speaker 1: build out there on for the dads. Shout out whether
- 3:47Speaker 1: you're tuning in right now on YouTube could make sure

- 4:02Speaker 1: Thank you guys, Galaxy, spot thank you guys for tuning in.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And also the people who are we I guess we
- 4:09Speaker 1: got some We got a video version up now on Spotify.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Those comments, people are leaving a lot of comments. We've
- 4:14Speaker 1: seen a big spike on Spotify because we started releasing
- 4:17Speaker 1: the video on Spotify. And again there's a little there's
- 4:20Speaker 1: a little automated message at the top.
- 4:22Speaker 2: If you want some automated ad free listening.
- 4:26Speaker 1: On for the dads, make sure you go to for

- 4:53Speaker 1: go dee go deep. But again, like I was saying,
- 4:56Speaker 1: we love the community we're building. There's a lot of

- 5:39Speaker 1: enough mail to be able to do this and whatever
- 5:42Speaker 1: else needs to be done.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Good Good.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I got for also New Dads a porch on Spotify.
- 5:50Speaker 3: We're seeing those Spotify comments. My wife is one of
- 5:53Speaker 3: the cryptic one, fellas, But the most important lesson I've
- 5:57Speaker 3: learned with her is if she doesn't want to get
- 5:59Speaker 3: up and get our boy overnight or in the morning,
- 6:02Speaker 3: she'll tap me on the shoulder and ask, hey, do
- 6:05Speaker 3: you want to get them?
- 6:06Speaker 2: Or me?
- 6:07Speaker 3: And fellas, let me tell you about the cold shoulder
- 6:10Speaker 3: I got the one and only time I asked her
- 6:12Speaker 3: to get him. I learned quick that if she's fine
- 6:15Speaker 3: getting them, she's just gonna get up. But if she
- 6:18Speaker 3: taps me and asks, buddy, it's dad's turn, No questions asked.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I'm being called up. Calling in the left.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I love that because that's a pocket there where you
- 6:27Speaker 1: have some choices to make. Because sometimes Charle hit me
- 6:30Speaker 1: with do you want to go up and get them?
- 6:33Speaker 2: And if she tosses me the.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Question, I know it's like she's wanting me to go,
- 6:37Speaker 1: oh yeah, because if she was fine doing it, she'd
- 6:39Speaker 1: already go up there, oh yeah. But every now and
- 6:41Speaker 1: then she'll be like, do you do you want to
- 6:42Speaker 1: go up and get them? And I'll just be like,
- 6:45Speaker 1: I think he'd be a great fit for this moment.
- 6:50Speaker 2: You know what.
- 6:51Speaker 1: They love the way you do it, I wouldn't deprive
- 6:54Speaker 1: the kids of that. Or are you asking me? Or if
- 6:56Speaker 1: you're asking me, I'd rather not. I think I'm feel
- 7:01Speaker 1: like this's this game. Yeah, if you're letting it be
- 7:03Speaker 1: up to me, i'd rather not. I will if you
- 7:05Speaker 1: want me to, I'd rather not. I think you're I
- 7:08Speaker 1: think you'd be great for this moment right now.
- 7:11Speaker 2: And thank you for communicating with me and like asking
- 7:13Speaker 2: me beforehand.
- 7:15Speaker 1: And by the way, for a shout out here to
- 7:16Speaker 1: Charlo Gabriella Sestra on Spotify, laugh my ass off, empty
- 7:21Speaker 1: six er here, that's milting six that's our female audience.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I am charo. Mommy can't play yet. I have to
- 7:27Speaker 2: do X, Y and Z. A subtle hint to my
- 7:29Speaker 2: husband to get his ass up, shout out.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I saw a lot of those from that video. There
- 7:38Speaker 3: are a lot of empty sixers resonating. Mason Cole on
- 7:42Speaker 3: Spotify says PT six member with an almost two year
- 7:45Speaker 3: old baby girl, Kennedy Boys, I'm on the trenches taking
- 7:49Speaker 3: heavy fire. Wife is in her first trimester with our
- 7:53Speaker 3: second and feeling like absolute shit. Twenty four to seven,
- 7:57Speaker 3: no morning sickness. We're talking all day sickness.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Every day.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Afterwards, she gets home and basically goes to bed, and
- 8:04Speaker 3: I know it's time to put on the ipaint and
- 8:06Speaker 3: go to war. Nobody is coming to save me, getting
- 8:10Speaker 3: dinner ready, clean up, playtime, bath, in bedtime. But I
- 8:15Speaker 3: get to do this. I don't have to GBR wolf
- 8:18Speaker 3: emoji GBR Wolf Mason cale Man, I a dog.
- 8:25Speaker 1: There's so many times now, Derek, to where I gotta
- 8:27Speaker 1: just say in my head, like I get to do
- 8:30Speaker 1: this all because Buddy. Over the weekend, I was a
- 8:35Speaker 1: little I don't know if you can hear the hear
- 8:37Speaker 1: the nasal in my voice, but I was.
- 8:38Speaker 2: A little under the weather. Same little under the weather.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and I had the kids a couple of times
- 8:43Speaker 1: solocust God bless my wife.
- 8:45Speaker 2: She went and did some volunteer work at the food shelter.
- 8:49Speaker 2: That's awesome for some repackaging, some organizing, some sorting, oh
- 8:53Speaker 2: the can sorting stuff. I believe so. I love doing that,
- 8:56Speaker 2: I believe so.
- 8:57Speaker 1: So she was going for a nice chunk of time
- 8:59Speaker 1: on Saturday and I got the two minions, bro and look, Scottie,
- 9:02Speaker 1: she's one and she's all over the place. Like I
- 9:05Speaker 1: was saying, it, alluding to it last week on the podcast.
- 9:08Speaker 1: She's climbing the Christmas tree, She's tearing down ornaments, she's
- 9:10Speaker 1: getting in every cabinet. She's got to put everything that
- 9:14Speaker 1: is organized, it's got to be on the floor.
- 9:17Speaker 2: And God bless her and Rue. She's in this phase
- 9:19Speaker 2: as a three year old.
- 9:19Speaker 1: And the dad's out there with the toddlers right now.
- 9:23Speaker 1: They probably feel my pain, the parents out there with
- 9:25Speaker 1: the toddlers.
- 9:26Speaker 2: But Rue's just in this phase where everything is look
- 9:28Speaker 2: at me.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Watch me, dad, look at me, watch this, watch this.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I'll beg you and then what did you do? She'll
- 9:37Speaker 1: hit a few reps.
- 9:38Speaker 2: I'll go over there. I'm like, oh my gosh, that's incredible, sweetheart.
- 9:40Speaker 1: And then it's I got go over and try to
- 9:42Speaker 1: like just nestle up on the couch or something like, hey,
- 9:44Speaker 1: do you want to color? You want to do this?
- 9:46Speaker 1: I got her coloring. We went to State Golden on
- 9:49Speaker 1: Saturday morning. Oh yeah yeah, and she was busy coloring
- 9:52Speaker 1: Christmas trees and ornaments on these worksheets.
- 9:55Speaker 2: So I made a heady play. This is a dad
- 9:57Speaker 2: hack right here too.
- 9:58Speaker 1: If your kids, you're at a restaurant, you go somewhere
- 10:00Speaker 1: and they got some stuff for kids where they can color.
- 10:02Speaker 1: They can use crowns, make a heady play. If you
- 10:05Speaker 1: see them very involved and focused in coloring on this worksheet,
- 10:10Speaker 1: go ask them for extra worksheets so you can bring
- 10:12Speaker 1: them home.
- 10:13Speaker 2: She was fired up to color these Christmas tree ornaments. Yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 2: and so I brought like four home.
- 10:18Speaker 1: So I'm like, all right, when mom's out, if Ruth's
- 10:21Speaker 1: I'm not gonna have her to her. If she already
- 10:23Speaker 1: used up her TV coupon, She's gonna have to do
- 10:25Speaker 1: things that keep her busy. Yeah, trying to I'm trying
- 10:28Speaker 1: to manipulate this to where when Scotty is down for
- 10:30Speaker 1: her nap in the middle of the afternoon in that one, two, three,
- 10:35Speaker 1: three thirty range, that could be some some father quiet.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Time since Mom's gone.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, So I got the worksheets out and this whole
- 10:43Speaker 1: look at me, watch this face that I'm about to
- 10:45Speaker 1: get to.
- 10:46Speaker 2: I give her the worksheets. She is elated.
- 10:49Speaker 1: We got a full box of crowns, and I get
- 10:53Speaker 1: her set up because I'm trying to go and watch
- 10:55Speaker 1: this documentary that I've been consuming, The Diddy documentary. By
- 10:59Speaker 1: the way, way that documentary is being wild binged it
- 11:03Speaker 1: wild Wild Dog, and she's going, dude, every thirty seconds,
- 11:09Speaker 1: she color an ornament or a flower or a part
- 11:12Speaker 1: of the tree. She color one little thing, and I'd
- 11:14Speaker 1: have to get up and come look, come look at
- 11:19Speaker 1: the ornament. I'm like, oh my gosh, you use blue.
- 11:22Speaker 2: And then I go and was like, sit like, sweetheart,
- 11:24Speaker 2: folks you know, focus in. I'll come check. Get the
- 11:26Speaker 2: whole tree going there, tell me when it come over.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Let the heart come here, come here, check this out.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Oh my god, he's yellow.
- 11:35Speaker 1: And I, sweetheart, like, just just color the whole tree
- 11:37Speaker 1: and then let me know when you're done, and then
- 11:39Speaker 1: I'll come.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I'll come check it out.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I'm sitting there watching the documentary and she's locked in
- 11:45Speaker 1: and she's like dad, Dad. I'm like yes, sweetheart. She's like,
- 11:47Speaker 1: will you come sit with me? Yeah, sweetheart, I'll come
- 11:51Speaker 1: sit with you. Pause the documentary, go over there and
- 11:54Speaker 1: sit with her. I gotta watch her basically the entire time.
- 11:56Speaker 1: What color do you think here? Can't use red, can't
- 11:58Speaker 1: use blue, can't use orange. Can't you just green?
- 12:01Speaker 2: Purple, pink?
- 12:03Speaker 1: And I'm like, sweetheart, you gotta be able to mix
- 12:04Speaker 1: you gotta be able to repeat some colors. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:07Speaker 1: talk her into it. But this phase, man, is I
- 12:14Speaker 1: mean it'll beat you down. Yeah, it'll be sure. I'm talking, Hey.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Dad, dadd come here, watch me. Watch me and I
- 12:23Speaker 2: walk over that what is it sweet? And She'll be
- 12:25Speaker 2: like just that, and I'm like, I'll stare at her
- 12:33Speaker 2: and I'll say, is that it?
- 12:36Speaker 1: It's like yeah, watch and I'm like, oh my god,
- 12:41Speaker 1: that's incredible.
- 12:43Speaker 3: You're gonna have to practice in the mirror, like twenty
- 12:45Speaker 3: different reactions to her stuff.
- 12:47Speaker 2: You gotta you gotta expand your bag.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Thanks, sweetheart, you gotta what are we looking at?
- 12:59Speaker 3: Tell him that's all what you said about the Christmas
- 13:01Speaker 3: cookie that she made. When you texted into the group
- 13:04Speaker 3: about the Christmas I put.
- 13:05Speaker 2: That one out on Twitter, that one out on Twitter,
- 13:10Speaker 2: he said the group.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'll be telling the boys like, hey, man,
- 13:15Speaker 1: I'm telling you, I think ru is gonna be She's
- 13:19Speaker 1: gonna be smart, bro, Like she is ahead of the game.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And I'm like looking at her making this little Christmas
- 13:23Speaker 1: cookie and just it's all different colors. It's it's just
- 13:27Speaker 1: plumped of plumps, uh, what we try call like mounds
- 13:32Speaker 1: of icing in different spots. It's uneven, it's very below average.
- 13:37Speaker 1: And I'm looking at this cookie and I'm like, sweetheart.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I look over my wife.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I'm like, we think she's gonna be smart and she
- 13:41Speaker 2: makes a cookie like this.
- 13:44Speaker 3: It's that into the group message with the pumpg like
- 13:48Speaker 3: Coop and Jared, and both Coop and Jared go, what's
- 13:52Speaker 3: wrong with the cookie? And I'm reading this way later
- 13:56Speaker 3: after y'all had this conversation Will, it's like she's using
- 14:01Speaker 3: all different types of colors. Look, there's three different types
- 14:04Speaker 3: of glitter on it. I told her she was grounded.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Grounded. He was obvious.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Up until now. I thought he was really really proud
- 14:15Speaker 4: of it, and I didn't. I was just like, it's
- 14:18Speaker 4: no like cookie.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Will.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Obviously, when we're sitting there doing our Christmas cookies, I'm
- 14:22Speaker 1: fired up. But I'm like laughing to myself because I
- 14:24Speaker 1: look at her cause she's like, check this one out.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I'm just like, Dade, I look, well, we're looking at
- 14:32Speaker 1: the sweetheart.
- 14:33Speaker 2: That shit is trash. Oh my gosh, I'm.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Trying to find true goons there. It is our group
- 14:39Speaker 1: chats called true goons. I dropped the picture in and
- 14:42Speaker 1: you can put the tweet up two chef, but I
- 14:44Speaker 1: dropped the photo of the cookie in there. You like me, man,
- 14:48Speaker 1: I'm telling you rue smart as hell for three year
- 14:51Speaker 1: old ruse Christmas cookie. Jared laughs and then he goes,
- 14:53Speaker 1: I don't even know what's wrong with it. I said
- 14:55Speaker 1: that icing game is trash. I said, three colors, three
- 14:57Speaker 1: different types of sprinkles, clumpy, and then I just then
- 15:02Speaker 1: I randomly put after that she's grounded, and then Jared goes, which,
- 15:08Speaker 1: by the way, I looked at Charro and I said
- 15:10Speaker 1: that before Jared even sent this message. It's like, sweetheart,
- 15:12Speaker 1: what were we doing with yellow icing? Like those are
- 15:14Speaker 1: that's not a Christmas color? Like you could have just
- 15:16Speaker 1: left the icing white, because you know, you built the
- 15:18Speaker 1: food coloring in it to change it up, like we could.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Have just done red, green and white.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Because I'm sitting here trying to build sand as I'm
- 15:25Speaker 1: trying to build all these different things. Now just got
- 15:27Speaker 1: yellow sitting there, and Beaman goes, honestly true, also yellow,
- 15:31Speaker 1: it's Christmas. I said, yeah, my wife got a verbal
- 15:33Speaker 1: lashing for that as well.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I was reading those laughing so hard, dude people right
- 15:42Speaker 2: out there. What are they talking about right now?
- 15:44Speaker 1: Look, it's Sunday night, Sunday night. What time we at
- 15:48Speaker 1: It's about nine pm? Oh yeah, after the kids went
- 15:50Speaker 1: down talking about I get to Yeah, that's what we
- 15:55Speaker 1: were talking about.
- 15:56Speaker 3: On Saturday night. My bless my mom's heart. I love
- 16:01Speaker 3: my mother, Miss Amy. She listens to every episode of
- 16:04Speaker 3: Miss Amy, I Love You. She came in town to
- 16:07Speaker 3: uh hang out with me and Jill, help take care
- 16:10Speaker 3: of scarlet. Let Jill and I have a little more
- 16:13Speaker 3: relaxing time. My mom is very talented artistically. She has
- 16:19Speaker 3: her own art company, and she had a gallery for
- 16:22Speaker 3: years and at Amy Young Art. And that's uh at
- 16:28Speaker 3: Amy Young Art with one why. I always told her
- 16:32Speaker 3: that makes it a little complicated, all because it's at
- 16:35Speaker 3: Amy Young Art. But there's just one why. So I
- 16:40Speaker 3: still want to give her a shout out.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Shout out, no shoutout, shout out, no free shout out
- 16:44Speaker 2: Miss Amy. I am Young Art.
- 16:48Speaker 3: But she's extremely creative. She did a lot of interior
- 16:52Speaker 3: design work back in her day. It's about seven pm
- 16:57Speaker 3: on a Saturday, and she's like Sherman. Now, I don't
- 17:00Speaker 3: want to upset Jill, but I'm looking at y'all's living
- 17:04Speaker 3: room and dining room setup, and I really think that,
- 17:06Speaker 3: Oh no, we could really rearrange everything. No, I go, oh,
- 17:13Speaker 3: she goes, I'm thinking the couches move here, the dining
- 17:16Speaker 3: room table moves here. Granted, I'm feeling like shit on Saturday,
- 17:21Speaker 3: and I've not communicated this at all to my mom.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Or my wife.
- 17:26Speaker 3: So now I know it's too late for me to
- 17:28Speaker 3: cop out and say, hey, I feel like shit.
- 17:31Speaker 2: So I don't know if this is a good.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Time cop out? What cop out on? What cop out on?
- 17:35Speaker 1: Helping with the redesign?
- 17:37Speaker 2: No? No? Oh wow? Oh wait. I wanted to, like,
- 17:43Speaker 2: you know, or I be my mother, But if my
- 17:47Speaker 2: mom would be over at our.
- 17:48Speaker 1: House and pull me aside, me like, hey, I you know,
- 17:51Speaker 1: I think we could do a lot of redesign in
- 17:53Speaker 1: the living room. God, I just put my hand on
- 17:58Speaker 1: her shoulder and be like, hey, Mom, I love you.
- 18:01Speaker 1: If you feel confident enough to tell my wife that's
- 18:05Speaker 1: what I did, that we need to redesign this house.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I'm letting you know right now you're on your own.
- 18:10Speaker 1: And when that grenade happens, cause it's gonna be explosive. Yeah,
- 18:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna be on my wife's side. But if you
- 18:16Speaker 1: want to step into the jungle, yeah, be my guest.
- 18:20Speaker 3: So I tell I tell my mom, I say, you know,
- 18:23Speaker 3: you're really you're kind of pitching, uh the intern right now,
- 18:26Speaker 3: you got you gotta talk to the lady upstairs. I
- 18:30Speaker 3: got no say in this situation. But you know, if
- 18:32Speaker 3: you sell Jill on it, then uh yeah, you know
- 18:35Speaker 3: we could look into it. Thinking around seven pm on
- 18:39Speaker 3: a Saturday that you know. And Jill was all but
- 18:44Speaker 3: so excited for the redesigned ideas. Loved miss Amy's ideas,
- 18:49Speaker 3: and she loved them for real, loved them for real,
- 18:52Speaker 3: and we got to cracking, we got to crack.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, bro, when you brought that up, I
- 18:57Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, how is this gonna go down?
- 19:00Speaker 2: Missed?
- 19:01Speaker 4: We missed like an entire portion of the argument because
- 19:03Speaker 4: when you were like and then I was going to
- 19:04Speaker 4: miss out on the redesign.
- 19:05Speaker 2: I thought there was a whole story about them.
- 19:08Speaker 4: At Conflin, I wrote down four title names for the
- 19:10Speaker 4: episode about the conflict.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Oh there was zero, you tell me there was zero conflict.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Zero conflict.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Mother in law comes into the house. Hey, I think
- 19:18Speaker 1: I don't really like the look at this place. I
- 19:20Speaker 1: think we should redesign some stuff. She I approached wifey
- 19:23Speaker 1: and wifey Jill, Queen Jill. She was just all on board.
- 19:27Speaker 1: It's smooth sailing.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Hey, I will say this, as far as the redesigned stuff,
- 19:32Speaker 3: she was exactly right, Like she really was exactly right
- 19:36Speaker 3: on all And it was more so.
- 19:38Speaker 2: So you're calling your wife stupid, not at all.
- 19:41Speaker 1: No, no joking, no, no, no, no, I'm just kid.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I had flashbacks on my cage waiting for me.
- 19:56Speaker 6: What on the f?
- 19:58Speaker 2: You know what? My mom was exactly right. That place
- 20:01Speaker 2: was a dump. My house looks like.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I do have to before and after photos that I'll
- 20:08Speaker 3: send to you, chef. But it opened up a ton
- 20:11Speaker 3: of space. But dude, I lifted up two chairs, re
- 20:16Speaker 3: hung some paintings, and I I was just sitting there
- 20:22Speaker 3: on a Saturday, just thinking, late into the.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Evening, Oh my gosh, I get to do this. I
- 20:28Speaker 2: get to do it.
- 20:29Speaker 1: What happened with this sounded like there was some conflict
- 20:31Speaker 1: when you were feeling under the weather, and you should
- 20:32Speaker 1: have told him.
- 20:33Speaker 2: You didn't say anything.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I just had to nut up or shut up,
- 20:36Speaker 3: and then I got really lightheaded. And like super pale
- 20:39Speaker 3: and like honestly was starting to feel a little dizzy,
- 20:43Speaker 3: and I was like, honey, I have to sit down.
- 20:45Speaker 3: She was great about it, she was like, hey, let's
- 20:48Speaker 3: sit down. It was a huge bummer note or though,
- 20:51Speaker 3: because we were going to have a date night that night,
- 20:54Speaker 3: and so we're going to move all this furniture around
- 20:56Speaker 3: like right before our kind of late night date night.
- 21:00Speaker 1: And yeah, I was just feeling like crap. So we
- 21:03Speaker 1: miss out on that. That was kind of a dad loss.
- 21:05Speaker 1: But I'm feeling a little bit better good getting on
- 21:09Speaker 1: the other side of it as well.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah, but hey, is he good? Good?
- 21:14Speaker 1: You know what happened at at our house is you
- 21:18Speaker 1: talk about a Willie one Shell story. Your boy got
- 21:20Speaker 1: active over the weekend and you know, I'm talking heavy lifting.
- 21:24Speaker 2: What were you doing something with?
- 21:28Speaker 1: The heat went out, not out, but the upstairs got
- 21:32Speaker 1: like north like around eighty plus degrees, so it's really
- 21:35Speaker 1: hot upstairs, not downstairs. And we shut the system off,
- 21:40Speaker 1: but it was still blowing hot air. So I'm thinking,
- 21:43Speaker 1: what the what's going on? Yeah, and so I hit
- 21:46Speaker 1: up my boy shot out Robbie, and he's given me
- 21:50Speaker 1: all these little instructures go up in the attic.
- 21:53Speaker 2: You know, check this, send me the serial number of that. Yeah.
- 21:57Speaker 1: He's an h fat guy. Yeah, yeah, he's like, check
- 21:59Speaker 1: the breakers. I go to the main breaker circuit and
- 22:02Speaker 1: I don't see heat or a C or anything on it.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I see like living room, bonus room, bathroom, I see.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I shoot him a picture and I'm like, buddy, I
- 22:09Speaker 1: don't see I don't see the heat or the AC
- 22:12Speaker 1: on this thing. And he's like, you might have to
- 22:13Speaker 1: go outside by the unit rune. Are you stay inside,
- 22:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna throw the shoes on.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna go outside. What was it behind some bushes too?
- 22:22Speaker 2: It was next to a bush. Yeah. I go back
- 22:24Speaker 2: there and the AC units running. It's like, man, I'm
- 22:28Speaker 2: just kind of do one of them, kind of do
- 22:30Speaker 2: one of them.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Lean back, and I'm looking at your hat a little bit. Yeah,
- 22:34Speaker 1: I think that's the breaker circuit right there. It's open up,
- 22:38Speaker 1: wiggle the breaker circuit. Realized there's just a little latch
- 22:40Speaker 1: on the side. Open that up.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I see.
- 22:43Speaker 1: All it says is a C breaker. So so I
- 22:45Speaker 1: just I send him a photo. I'm like, so, just
- 22:47Speaker 1: flip these off, and he's like, yeah, flip them off.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Step back AC. The unit shuts down, and I'm like,
- 22:54Speaker 1: all right, I think I gotta went inside. Looked at
- 22:56Speaker 1: my wife. I was like, I think we just wait.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Now go upstairs. Let's let's turn all the systems off,
- 23:03Speaker 1: all systems off, breakers off. It says you can go quick,
- 23:05Speaker 1: you can do a quick recep Five to ten minutes.
- 23:07Speaker 1: We're gonna wait thirty yeah, because we're gonna make sure
- 23:09Speaker 1: this thing, the systems are you know, systems are gonna
- 23:12Speaker 1: be a go when we get this thing sparked back up,
- 23:15Speaker 1: go upstairs. Hot air is still blowing out after you
- 23:19Speaker 1: hit the break, after I hit the breakers, bro. But
- 23:22Speaker 1: the people who are true h backers out there, the
- 23:24Speaker 1: true Sikos that understand this game, they're probably like, oh, Willie,
- 23:26Speaker 1: it was probably just the AC and not the heat one.
- 23:28Speaker 2: There's a heat one as well. You have two units,
- 23:32Speaker 2: one for heat, one for AC.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe. So you can call up Robbie, hey, bro,
- 23:36Speaker 1: when heats still coming. Heat, all systems are off, I
- 23:40Speaker 1: flip the breakers off. Heat still coming even be hotter? Yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 1: will you gotta go. You gotta go up to the attic.
- 23:47Speaker 1: There's gonna be a gray box. Sitting there by the unit. Yeah,
- 23:50Speaker 1: you'll find it. Open it up. If it says heat,
- 23:52Speaker 1: there's your heat one. Get the ladder down from the attic,
- 23:56Speaker 1: you know. And I'm feeling like people talking about Willy's once.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Ye will is handling business, right, you hit.
- 24:01Speaker 2: The peter Pan pees again before you go, sweetart, I'm
- 24:06Speaker 2: gonna have to go up in the attic the dramatic
- 24:10Speaker 2: click of the ship.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna go north of the wall. Where's the tape measure?
- 24:17Speaker 1: If I'm not back, you know what. Start feeling around
- 24:20Speaker 1: my pockets before I go up there. Let me get
- 24:22Speaker 1: a hammer and a tape measure. Flip off the breaker.
- 24:24Speaker 1: You don't know what you're gonna need.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Just go up there with's like a little thing of
- 24:30Speaker 3: dirt and dust and just put it all over yourself.
- 24:33Speaker 2: After the breaker, I sit down the ladder.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I'm climbing up on the ladder, you know, kind of
- 24:39Speaker 1: a kind of a fragile ladder, and I'm like, holding on, sweetheart.
- 24:42Speaker 2: You got the kids down there, all you guys. You
- 24:44Speaker 2: guys stay downstairs. Don't come up here. This is big
- 24:47Speaker 2: boy stuff. Oh whoa, whoa, don't don't come up here.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Don't come here.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I'm looking at the I'm looking at the unit up
- 24:55Speaker 1: in the attic, and it's it's it's a big boy.
- 24:58Speaker 1: It's got the big silver tubes going out everywhere. And
- 25:00Speaker 1: I'm kind of like looking around. Send him a photo
- 25:02Speaker 1: of the serial number. We're checking to see if we're
- 25:04Speaker 1: cyllinder warranty, because he's like, it might be the masterboard.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It's not communicating correctly with the system. Yeah, but you
- 25:10Speaker 1: gotta shut it down. Will you got to shut it down?
- 25:12Speaker 2: Up there?
- 25:13Speaker 1: I see the great box over there. I kind of
- 25:15Speaker 1: prop it open. I see it's just a simple switch.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Heat says Heat big written. I'm like, all right, here
- 25:20Speaker 1: we go. This is the heat. Like you know, I
- 25:23Speaker 1: don't want my wife to know. This ain't some big
- 25:24Speaker 1: boy stuff. I'm just I just randomly yo, dad.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Damn it. It's all good up here, sweetheart. It's all
- 25:30Speaker 2: good up here.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Compton, looky, Yeah, flip it off, system shut down.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Text Robbie. Hey, I shut it down. He said, all right, now,
- 25:39Speaker 2: you just wait. So we waited.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I'm going around and I close. So we wait like
- 25:44Speaker 1: thirty minutes. Kick it back on. But this is when
- 25:46Speaker 1: my wife was out volunteering, so I kick it back on.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I'm keeping her posted like, Hey, you know, I think
- 25:50Speaker 1: I got the system's reset.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I think we might be good to go. Yeah.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but it starts blowing out hot air again. So
- 25:57Speaker 1: we might have like a like a like a masterboard issue.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yeah with the h vacuumit where it's like not it's
- 26:03Speaker 1: not uh communicating with the system correctly.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and you can't.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Hey, I don't want to go too deep into it
- 26:11Speaker 3: for any mind, not interested, But I do have a
- 26:14Speaker 3: legitimate question. Go ahead, uh, something that my parents did
- 26:17Speaker 3: with the heat rising. And you have a lot of
- 26:19Speaker 3: open air space in that house. Yeah, do you have
- 26:22Speaker 3: floor vents in the upstairs as.
- 26:26Speaker 1: If no floor vents in the upstairs all ceilings floor
- 26:29Speaker 1: vents on the first level.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Okay, and then ceiling vents on the ceiling events on
- 26:33Speaker 2: the top level.
- 26:34Speaker 3: If it's easy for you, you can close all the
- 26:37Speaker 3: ceiling vents.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Closed them, buddy.
- 26:39Speaker 1: And that didn't even help. No, that ended up helping
- 26:41Speaker 1: because again it was going out hot. So I'm like,
- 26:44Speaker 1: you know you're about to have We had like a
- 26:46Speaker 1: really cold Sunday, Yeah, but it was still like it
- 26:48Speaker 1: was like thirty to fifty on Saturday. And so as
- 26:53Speaker 1: we're about to do bedtime and everything else, we're opening
- 26:55Speaker 1: the windows until they actually go to bed. But we
- 26:57Speaker 1: got the windows open trying to like funnel through and
- 27:00Speaker 1: then I'm I'm standing on beds like I got this
- 27:03Speaker 1: metal pole and I'm closing the vents in the ceiling. Yeah,
- 27:06Speaker 1: I was working. I was working. You crushed its man.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Hey, that's actually a huge dad hack.
- 27:12Speaker 3: By the way, we have a very small upstairs, but
- 27:14Speaker 3: we closed all our vents during the winter months and
- 27:17Speaker 3: just blast that heat downstairs and it filters all up.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll tell you what.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Didn't really close the vents in the bonus room where
- 27:25Speaker 1: we were good, where we were Chef Jack and I.
- 27:27Speaker 1: We were on pup G on Saturday, and I finally
- 27:29Speaker 1: had kind of an open weekend. There wasn't really it
- 27:31Speaker 1: was just Army Navy on Saturday, so there wasn't a
- 27:33Speaker 1: lot of college football, and I felt like I had
- 27:35Speaker 1: to stay on top of so it felt like a
- 27:36Speaker 1: free night. And I just told my wife, like, once
- 27:38Speaker 1: we got the kids down, I'm gonna go get some
- 27:40Speaker 1: in with the boys. Man, I'm gonna go upstairs. I'm
- 27:42Speaker 1: gonna play some video games. And so I was up
- 27:45Speaker 1: there sweating. Oh yeah, because he got he eventually got
- 27:50Speaker 1: pretty damn hot in there, and I'm sitting there sweating
- 27:52Speaker 1: when we got our chicken dinner on pup G shout out.
- 27:54Speaker 2: The boys shot out the gooblin.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Squad shot out the good squad so bad though, for
- 27:58Speaker 1: the goom berets out there?
- 27:59Speaker 3: Can we get a little chef Jack get his thoughts
- 28:03Speaker 3: on playing with the boys the other night?
- 28:05Speaker 2: I was it was good, man.
- 28:07Speaker 7: I didn't played video games with like a group of
- 28:09Speaker 7: friends in a long long time.
- 28:11Speaker 1: He got called up to the big leagues. Yeah, because
- 28:13Speaker 1: you were out, you were you rocking with mom and wifey.
- 28:16Speaker 7: It was fun. Will had kind of a boomer moment
- 28:18Speaker 7: with his headset. Let's took about.
- 28:21Speaker 2: You think I was? Because I did hear a little
- 28:26Speaker 2: somethings on the.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I have no Boomer moment, man, if said Turtle Beach
- 28:33Speaker 1: top of the line, and it wasn't communicating with the discord.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I couldn't hear the boys.
- 28:38Speaker 1: If I can tell you all my my side of
- 28:41Speaker 1: it is, I'm passing in and out of sleep.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I'm sweating out some stuff. I'm not really checking my
- 28:48Speaker 3: phone other than just kind of surviving through the night.
- 28:50Speaker 3: So I wake up the next morning and it seemed
- 28:53Speaker 3: like y'all's planned to play was like eight thirty ish,
- 28:57Speaker 3: you like nine. And then I just see a string
- 29:00Speaker 3: of texts which we could provide to you. Jack of
- 29:04Speaker 3: will we can hear you, you can't hear us. Will
- 29:07Speaker 3: check check this system. I do the thing where you
- 29:11Speaker 3: like scrolled the text to the left and see the timestamps,
- 29:14Speaker 3: And it was like an hour and a half affair.
- 29:17Speaker 2: It seemed like the boys are sitting there hating on me,
- 29:19Speaker 2: and I'm just like, hey, we were talking to go.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I think it's a will issue and keeps like, yeah,
- 29:24Speaker 2: it's definitely Will issue.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Something about at that age, man age Coop, Coopy, I'm
- 29:36Speaker 1: with you.
- 29:36Speaker 2: I'm on, I ain't just on facetebook. That's incredible. And
- 29:42Speaker 2: then Coop with the eight kill game, Yeah, was an
- 29:45Speaker 2: a crazy went off. He crushed it. We got a
- 29:47Speaker 2: chicken dinner. How did Jack play? The chef check played awesome? Okay, good.
- 29:51Speaker 1: We got in there with a squad, a dude who
- 29:53Speaker 1: was in the Marines when we had a fourth because
- 29:56Speaker 1: Cooop got off the marine joined us and he was
- 29:58Speaker 1: telling us about how it went down, Like he's like,
- 30:00Speaker 1: I like to use the stuff that I used for real,
- 30:02Speaker 1: and I'm like, I like to use the stuff that
- 30:04Speaker 1: I think I would do for real.
- 30:07Speaker 3: And you know, that's a really good point. That's a
- 30:13Speaker 3: really good point because I think i'd use this him
- 30:15Speaker 3: to mutant, you know, if I was. But I was
- 30:18Speaker 3: in the ship for real.
- 30:21Speaker 2: What was user name? But you gotta shout him? What
- 30:24Speaker 2: was it? Recon?
- 30:26Speaker 7: Yeah, recon something recon rob or something like this sting guy.
- 30:29Speaker 2: But he was cool. Oh yeah.
- 30:31Speaker 1: But I got on eventually like nine thirty because I
- 30:34Speaker 1: you know, I was gone.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Was it Wednesday early through? Yeah?
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I got back like a Thursday afternoon and then
- 30:44Speaker 1: Friday we had the double date night, so I met
- 30:47Speaker 1: and then straight we streamed on Thursday night. So I
- 30:49Speaker 1: missed bedtime on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. So my wife's
- 30:53Speaker 1: hit me with like, you got double bedtime duty on
- 30:55Speaker 1: Saturday and Sunday, just like lah ah loud. She hits
- 30:58Speaker 1: me when I'm not around her, like I think I
- 31:00Speaker 1: was over here or something, and she's text me, so
- 31:02Speaker 1: you got double bedtime duty on Saturday and Sunday, And
- 31:04Speaker 1: I'm just laugh out loud.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Sure, I guess.
- 31:07Speaker 1: But on Saturday, before I could goon with the fellas,
- 31:11Speaker 1: I'm going up there with Scottie at like seven and
- 31:14Speaker 1: then I come out when I get Scottie down and
- 31:17Speaker 1: Charles down there.
- 31:18Speaker 2: That's when they was doing.
- 31:19Speaker 1: The Christmas cookies. We're doing Christmas cookies at like eight o'clock. Like, hey,
- 31:23Speaker 1: it's bedtime, bro. But Rue was all fire to do
- 31:26Speaker 1: Christmas cookies. I know, it's kind of like a tradition.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I know, like in this episode we're gonna be talking
- 31:30Speaker 1: about Christmas traditions. Oh yeah, holiday shopping. But we were
- 31:34Speaker 1: in the tradition of making Christmas cookies. And then she
- 31:36Speaker 1: hits me. He was like, oh, you should have made
- 31:38Speaker 1: the dough. Well, I was gone, you should have made
- 31:40Speaker 1: the dough. All was gone, Sweeter. I don't know how
- 31:41Speaker 1: to make the dough or the whatever the what is it? Yeah,
- 31:45Speaker 1: the dough, the cookie dough. It's correct, like the butter
- 31:49Speaker 1: and eggs and the flow or whatever.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I don't know. You got this mixer out.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Hey, listen, and I ain't gonna sit there while Ruthe
- 31:56Speaker 2: bosses me around on how to make cookies. What the
- 31:59Speaker 2: hell is it?
- 32:00Speaker 3: Kitchen aid, babe, what do you mean it's it's in
- 32:03Speaker 3: this cupboard. I've never seen this thing before. Yeah, that
- 32:06Speaker 3: kitchen aid could take your hand off if you're not careful.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Yeah, gotta be careful. That's so.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Anyway, I'm putting Rue down at like eight thirty nine.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I was probably like nine nine thirty when I left
- 32:16Speaker 1: the room and ended up joining the boys.
- 32:19Speaker 2: But there you go.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Solid weekend, I had a night I finessed. It is
- 32:23Speaker 1: Sunday night. I finessed Rue because Rue was like, Mama,
- 32:26Speaker 1: you're gonna do better because Charles gone, uh, she was
- 32:30Speaker 1: working this morning. So I had the kiddos making breakfast,
- 32:33Speaker 1: just being just being an all star.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Dad dude, Yeah, being a rock star usual.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Or just crushing it with the kiddos, and the in
- 32:42Speaker 1: laws came over for dinner and Charles like, it's bath
- 32:46Speaker 1: night for the kids. I'm like, oh, She's like, what
- 32:49Speaker 1: was the nose Like nose touched like not it or
- 32:51Speaker 1: something like that.
- 32:53Speaker 2: What's the the nose thing? Those goes? Yeah, yeah, those
- 32:57Speaker 2: goes you. And I'm like, yeah, I figured it me.
- 33:00Speaker 2: So you said you want me to do? You want
- 33:01Speaker 2: me to do bad time for both of them, and
- 33:03Speaker 2: you know, double bedtime. I'm logging this in my brain.
- 33:05Speaker 2: I'm not saying it out loud. She's hearing me say
- 33:07Speaker 2: it out.
- 33:07Speaker 1: She's hearing me say it out loud, and should listened
- 33:09Speaker 1: to this episode right now.
- 33:14Speaker 2: So I'm in there scrubbing the kids. Don't get the
- 33:16Speaker 2: bag clean, you.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Know, seeing into them and playing with the Yeah, splash, splash, splash.
- 33:23Speaker 1: The you don't drink it, yeah yeah, cover your eyes waterboard.
- 33:29Speaker 1: All right, let's go get you ready for bed. But
- 33:32Speaker 1: I finessed with because we're one of Mushy's my mom,
- 33:34Speaker 1: it's your turn to do bedtime tonight, and she's like,
- 33:36Speaker 1: will you do my bedtime? She's like, I guess. So
- 33:39Speaker 1: that's a good point, rue, Yeah, you know what mama
- 33:42Speaker 1: should do bedtime? What if we turned away? We need
- 33:47Speaker 1: to flip the switch. We need to start sub tweeting
- 33:49Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe we.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I gotta find a way. Yeah, yeah, I gotta figure
- 33:54Speaker 1: out a good way to do that. I gotta figure
- 33:55Speaker 1: out a smart way to do that. Speaking of dad losses,
- 33:59Speaker 1: I have a pretty severe one.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Okay. Uh so tomorrow is Monday.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Jill is actually going with my mom and Scarlet to
- 34:12Speaker 3: the airport and they're gonna be flying to Texas.
- 34:15Speaker 2: She's not gonna be flying back till Thursday.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So I'm essentially gonna have to hold down the fort
- 34:22Speaker 1: from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday to like midday Thursday. So I
- 34:27Speaker 1: guess that's three days without my two girls at home.
- 34:31Speaker 2: So you're gonna have the house to yourself.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's okay. I'm already I don't need to like
- 34:38Speaker 3: talk about it. I've already processed it.
- 34:40Speaker 1: So you're telling me, your selfish ass wife, who's gonna
- 34:45Speaker 1: take the kiddo, Yeah, the five month old and fly
- 34:48Speaker 1: out tomorrow on Monday, Yeah with my mom and be gone,
- 34:53Speaker 1: Yeah for three days. Yeah, and you're gonna have the
- 34:56Speaker 1: house to yourself.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Yeah. I know that.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Y'all were talking about like pubg earlier and stuff, and
- 35:06Speaker 1: I was like a part of me was like, shit,
- 35:09Speaker 1: that's probably something that I'm gonna have to do this week,
- 35:12Speaker 1: because what else am I gonna do?
- 35:15Speaker 2: Just sit at home, sat on.
- 35:16Speaker 3: The couch and just kind of like watch, you know,
- 35:19Speaker 3: previews of the upcoming college football playoff.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Nothing pisses me off more than one of my mother
- 35:30Speaker 1: wants to take the kids and leave that home alone
- 35:34Speaker 1: for days at a time.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not holding her against it, holding it against her.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I know we're talking about like scoreboard stuff. I'm gonna
- 35:43Speaker 3: do my best and I like keep score on this.
- 35:45Speaker 3: But you know, I hope they have fun. I hope
- 35:50Speaker 3: she gets to spend quality time with her friends. And
- 35:52Speaker 3: I'm just gonna do my best to try and hold it,
- 35:54Speaker 3: hold it down, hold it forth down.
- 35:56Speaker 2: All by myself at the house.
- 35:58Speaker 3: I'll probably have to order a peta, probably two medium
- 36:01Speaker 3: pizzas from Dominoes.
- 36:03Speaker 2: You know what you gotta do?
- 36:05Speaker 1: What when she flies, when she takes off, you let
- 36:10Speaker 1: it sit for a couple hours, and then you just
- 36:12Speaker 1: shoot her a message. You feel good about taking my
- 36:16Speaker 1: kid from me. I hope you're happy. I hope you're happy.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Hurt it seventy degrees in Texas right now. I hope
- 36:23Speaker 1: you're happy leaving me alone at home for a few days. Yeah,
- 36:26Speaker 1: hurted seventy degrees.
- 36:27Speaker 3: You'll be outside all day, and then I'll be inside
- 36:30Speaker 3: because it's freezing here in Nashville.
- 36:32Speaker 2: I'll be inside.
- 36:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to bundle up with some blankets, make
- 36:35Speaker 1: a fire, and probably play some video games.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Oh, this is where we need PT six more than ever.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Eat some pizza and wings. Maybe we try and get
- 36:44Speaker 3: a pet stick out on the sticks with us. Oh
- 36:49Speaker 3: my heart goes out for you, bro, Thank.
- 36:51Speaker 2: You, dude, thank you. What a selfish bitch man all
- 36:55Speaker 2: day speaking himself the kids man, You're gonna be begging
- 37:01Speaker 2: for him to come home.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Speaking of selfish bitches, the employees that the daycare sold
- 37:09Speaker 3: me out a little belated dad loss from last week
- 37:12Speaker 3: with Jilly Bean.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Was sick and dead, and I took Scarlett all by
- 37:17Speaker 1: myself on that last second.
- 37:19Speaker 2: You know, Oh, I gotta get her.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Jill lays out an outfit every single day for Scarlet,
- 37:24Speaker 3: with a big old.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Bow, pretty outfit. I didn't have Jilly Bean.
- 37:29Speaker 3: So the outdit that Dad has laid out was built
- 37:32Speaker 3: for speed. It was built for getting to work by
- 37:34Speaker 3: eight am. Yep, is a nice little onesie q onesie
- 37:38Speaker 3: with some cowboy boots. Did I grab a bow? No,
- 37:41Speaker 3: that's not aerodynamic. I grab socks. She doesn't need it.
- 37:44Speaker 3: She's wearing a onesie. She doesn't need socks in her
- 37:47Speaker 3: cute little gold glittering cowboy boots. And I drop her
- 37:50Speaker 3: off at daycare and she had a great day and
- 37:54Speaker 3: then they run into Jill like three or four days
- 37:56Speaker 3: later and they go, I think Dad picked out the
- 37:58Speaker 3: appit on Tuesday. A.
- 38:00Speaker 2: That's such bullshit.
- 38:02Speaker 1: When people start commenting on oh, it looks like Dad
- 38:05Speaker 1: dressed him today.
- 38:12Speaker 3: I thought they were on my side. I do all
- 38:14Speaker 3: the pickups and drop offs. I'm the I'm the face
- 38:18Speaker 3: that they're seeing every single day, and they sold me
- 38:20Speaker 3: out like that.
- 38:21Speaker 2: But what's wrong with the with the onesie and some
- 38:23Speaker 2: cowboy boots? Like she looked cute as hell?
- 38:28Speaker 1: Yeah, like Charle was getting on my ass today, like, oh, Scotty,
- 38:30Speaker 1: let's get some clothes on you. It was about four
- 38:32Speaker 1: in the afternoon she set out her She set it
- 38:34Speaker 1: on her pjs.
- 38:34Speaker 2: From the night before. Was there any poop or be
- 38:37Speaker 2: on him any? Sweetheart?
- 38:38Speaker 1: It's lazy Sunday. Yeah, And she looks like she's having fun.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Does she? Is she covered in her own poop? Or
- 38:44Speaker 2: oh she's not? Oh? Then she looks pretty good to me.
- 38:47Speaker 2: It dude, don't even get me started.
- 38:50Speaker 6: Bro.
- 38:51Speaker 1: It's like, I'll put shorts and a T shirt on
- 38:52Speaker 1: the room and like, my nannymback looks like Danny dressed
- 38:55Speaker 1: through today.
- 38:57Speaker 2: What does that mean, hey, what if you did, yeah,
- 39:01Speaker 2: you know, you don't like shorts and a T shirt?
- 39:03Speaker 3: What if dad fucked around and picked out an outfit?
- 39:05Speaker 3: Yeah you know, Oh, God forbid, I'm a father. Don't
- 39:08Speaker 3: let a white boy get hot now.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but in all serious, God forbid, Dad's got
- 39:15Speaker 1: some motion.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Shout out, shout out the crystal and uh, miss Angie,
- 39:19Speaker 2: because y'all are angels and I love you. Hey, everything
- 39:24Speaker 2: I'm saying right now, just.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I need your help. Please don't hate me. That
- 39:28Speaker 3: was for a laughs, that was a joke.
- 39:30Speaker 2: It's sweetheart. We don't think you're selfish. We don't think
- 39:32Speaker 2: your selfish at all. With them, the picture is just hilarious.
- 39:34Speaker 3: So I'll compile some pictures for the pod of outfits
- 39:38Speaker 3: of Jill and that has picked out. And then they
- 39:41Speaker 3: sent a picture like of Scarlet and her little onesie outfit.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's brief. The contrast is funny.
- 39:48Speaker 4: This is dumb, guy brain. Why does Scarlett have clothes
- 39:51Speaker 4: she's not allowed to wear? That's a great Derek, you
- 39:54Speaker 4: know what I mean, Derek, that's a great question. Dumb,
- 39:57Speaker 4: dumb funkl guy brain. But why why would she have
- 39:59Speaker 4: an outfit? And boots that you're not allowed to put
- 40:02Speaker 4: her in.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Derek, that's a great question. Hey, why would she have
- 40:05Speaker 2: a whole closet? Why would she have.
- 40:08Speaker 3: An entire closet with outfits that range all the way
- 40:13Speaker 3: to like a two year old?
- 40:15Speaker 2: Why would she have that in five months old?
- 40:17Speaker 1: And then why do we also buy new outfits like
- 40:21Speaker 1: every couple of weeks.
- 40:23Speaker 2: You know, these are good questions. That's not a dumb question.
- 40:26Speaker 1: You you asked that question, and my brain is saying,
- 40:29Speaker 1: I don't even know if there's an answer. Yeah, Like
- 40:34Speaker 1: I'm thinking, yeah, I'm with you.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I don't.
- 40:37Speaker 4: Shouldn't all of her outfits be fair game to be
- 40:39Speaker 4: put on her body if they fit. I'm genuinely like,
- 40:42Speaker 4: I'm not even trying to make a bit like I'm asking,
- 40:45Speaker 4: dumb guy.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Well, she's got to have, Derek, she's got to have
- 40:50Speaker 3: her cute morning fit for maybe a picture on the
- 40:53Speaker 3: on the chair that will provided us not cheap.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Yes, and look, if you don't want us suddress the
- 41:00Speaker 1: kids in certain clothes, don't have those clothes in the drawer. Yeah,
- 41:06Speaker 1: ruse three, so she'll wear three t I thought three
- 41:09Speaker 1: team meant three tall and meets three toddler, It sure doesn't.
- 41:13Speaker 2: I learned that the hard way too.
- 41:15Speaker 1: And so one day Roue comes out and I got
- 41:18Speaker 1: earn some pants. And these pants, the bottoms of them
- 41:20Speaker 1: are like midway upper calf. They're like, well, what are
- 41:23Speaker 1: you doing? You got earn some two T pants? And
- 41:26Speaker 1: so I'm like, okay, I didn't know that. Like they're
- 41:28Speaker 1: if they're in the drawer, I'm going to see them
- 41:31Speaker 1: as a viable option that I.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Can put them in.
- 41:33Speaker 3: God, brother, you were me just two weeks ago before
- 41:36Speaker 3: we made the big change, because Scarlett was at the
- 41:40Speaker 3: zero to three months, but now she's at the three
- 41:42Speaker 3: to six months, but the zero to three months were
- 41:45Speaker 3: still in the drawer. That I go off of orders
- 41:49Speaker 3: from my five star general jillyban and so if I
- 41:52Speaker 3: don't get orders that everything in the right side of
- 41:55Speaker 3: the drawer is off limits.
- 41:57Speaker 2: And now we have migrated to the left side of
- 41:59Speaker 2: the chester. You gotta let me know.
- 42:01Speaker 3: You gotta let me know, because I'm still going into
- 42:03Speaker 3: the right drawer and yeah, I'm fighting Scarlet and I'm going, oh,
- 42:07Speaker 3: this thing's a little.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Dight, little snuff. I'm gonna get you some bigger, bigger,
- 42:10Speaker 1: out she's growing. Yeah, yeah, there you go, scars Car.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I don't know i'd listen.
- 42:16Speaker 2: I hate warl on that. I agree wholehard.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Like dads that are trying and doing their absolute best,
- 42:23Speaker 1: you can't just it's like Ron Burgundy reading the teleprompter. Well,
- 42:26Speaker 1: if it gets in the drawer, it's fair game for
- 42:29Speaker 1: us to put on.
- 42:30Speaker 3: Like do you remember we were doing to put in
- 42:33Speaker 3: the lefty thing and I was like, I see the
- 42:35Speaker 3: Bobby sitting there, and I'm like, hey, we never used
- 42:37Speaker 3: Bobby formula, but I'm just.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Going with me. Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Fast forward to two nights ago and Jill's like, hey,
- 42:43Speaker 3: can you just make her a little two out, like
- 42:45Speaker 3: extra little two ounces. I think she's still hungry. And
- 42:48Speaker 3: we usually use the Baby Breza machine, which for any
- 42:53Speaker 3: st sixers out there, funkals that is a baby formula dispenser.
- 42:58Speaker 3: So it's just this the ultimate dad hack machine. We
- 43:02Speaker 3: talked about it in the first couple episodes. You hit
- 43:04Speaker 3: make it makes it. What Jill is now asking me
- 43:08Speaker 3: is to make just two ounces, which I could have
- 43:10Speaker 3: done on the Breza, but I was like, oh, that
- 43:12Speaker 3: just means one scoop, put in a bottle heat up
- 43:15Speaker 3: the bottle. I can do that pretty easily. And I
- 43:17Speaker 3: go to open up the Bobby and Jill goes, oh no, no, no, honey,
- 43:21Speaker 3: don't use the Bobby. We never used Bobby. I go, oh, yeah,
- 43:25Speaker 3: that's right, that's right, remembering that I made pre made
- 43:29Speaker 3: three bottles for daycare of Bobby first Scarlet.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, my dumbass did not touch the I did that.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Sorry, of course, we don't use Bobby. Holy shit.
- 43:43Speaker 1: I just I've been centered with daycare with Bobby bottles.
- 43:49Speaker 2: For the last week. She's going.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Scarlet hasn't been drinking her bottles very well at the
- 43:56Speaker 3: at the daycare, I've been.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Using their own formula that just came out. That's breaking news.
- 44:07Speaker 2: He're on for the duns.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Yeah so yeah, Ron Burgundy, Fuck you, candiego. I have
- 44:18Speaker 3: some other new Dad in the Trenches comments. We want
- 44:21Speaker 3: to get some comments beginning.
- 44:23Speaker 1: If you're falling along on YouTube, Spotify, do you see
- 44:26Speaker 1: the clips on social media?
- 44:28Speaker 2: Leave comments? We love to read them on the podcast.
- 44:30Speaker 2: We sure do.
- 44:31Speaker 3: I have Marsh rz F nineties on TikTok boys. We
- 44:35Speaker 3: are currently in the four to five months trenches with
- 44:38Speaker 3: our old our daughter Sonny that's my mom's grandmother name.
- 44:42Speaker 2: Shout out Sonny.
- 44:43Speaker 3: I'm talking no sleeping at night, spit up, screaming and crying,
- 44:46Speaker 3: only wanting to be held. We lost our dog recently,
- 44:50Speaker 3: and I feel as if she knows that she's gone.
- 44:53Speaker 3: Dad's struggling through it. She can sense it only once
- 44:56Speaker 3: your mom. Being a new dad is a wild ride.
- 44:58Speaker 3: My identity changed five months ago, and then changed it
- 45:02Speaker 3: again this week. This week, excuse me when I lost
- 45:07Speaker 3: my best friend. He's talking about his dog. It's just
- 45:11Speaker 3: been dad loss after dad loss after dad loss.
- 45:14Speaker 2: When do the trenches in?
- 45:16Speaker 3: I listened to your podcast all the time for words
- 45:18Speaker 3: of advice and encouragement, but goddamn, this shit is difficult
- 45:23Speaker 3: and I feel as if I'm failing. How do you
- 45:25Speaker 3: guys cope with all the change?
- 45:27Speaker 2: Marsh?
- 45:29Speaker 3: RZF nineties, I have some advice for him?
- 45:32Speaker 2: Do you have anything you want to say?
- 45:34Speaker 1: This is why I would say, Marsh, the losses will
- 45:38Speaker 1: keep piling up.
- 45:39Speaker 2: You are not. The losses will never stop.
- 45:41Speaker 3: They'll never stop. They'll keep piling up, And you are
- 45:44Speaker 3: not failing. You're just working through it. Find those small victories.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Hit those small victories. Start small you can't eat the
- 45:54Speaker 3: elephant with one big bite. You gotta take little bites.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Get those little bites in, get those little victory now.
- 46:01Speaker 3: I do have a cheat code for surroy Gate best Friend,
- 46:07Speaker 3: because I've lost some dogs in my day. Christmas is
- 46:10Speaker 3: the best time for a puppy, dude. And I know
- 46:14Speaker 3: you have a four to five month old, and so
- 46:16Speaker 3: you're probably thinking, Sherman, what the hell kind of evil
- 46:19Speaker 3: are you trying to put on me? You don't have
- 46:22Speaker 3: to get a puppy, Get a nice little five or
- 46:25Speaker 3: six year old, you know, sheltered dog that needs a
- 46:29Speaker 3: nice home this Christmas and find a little Surrey get
- 46:33Speaker 3: best friend. I think that's the number one way to
- 46:37Speaker 3: go when you're really feeling it with the dog loss.
- 46:39Speaker 3: And of course get approved with wifey, but get some
- 46:43Speaker 3: shelter dog that's sweet as an angel, just to like
- 46:46Speaker 3: have a new dog in there.
- 46:47Speaker 7: I do see a lot of people say that they
- 46:49Speaker 7: get a puppy when they have a child, too, like
- 46:51Speaker 7: their first kid, and I think the time's probably a
- 46:53Speaker 7: little different. Maybe the puppy before the child, right before,
- 46:56Speaker 7: Oh it's not as much chaos. But a lot of
- 46:58Speaker 7: people say that a kid agree is up with the
- 47:00Speaker 7: dog ends up pretty happy kid.
- 47:03Speaker 2: That is true.
- 47:04Speaker 7: That dog is gonna love that that toddler, that is true.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that would be my advice. Do you have anything.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Well, Number one, the losses will never stop coming. Yeah,
- 47:18Speaker 1: being a parent is very hard work. It will always
- 47:21Speaker 1: be very hard work. That's why on this pod we
- 47:24Speaker 1: talk about embracing the suck the whole good mantra mentality,
- 47:28Speaker 1: the whole you know, flipping your mindset from this is
- 47:32Speaker 1: happening to me too. I get to do this. So
- 47:37Speaker 1: a lot of my advice would just come would just
- 47:39Speaker 1: come down to, like what conversations are you having with
- 47:42Speaker 1: yourself on a day to day.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Basis, Like when you wake up in.
- 47:46Speaker 1: The morning and you're feeling down or you're feeling a
- 47:49Speaker 1: little depressive or already defeated, that is a very that
- 47:53Speaker 1: to me is a sign that you need to have
- 47:56Speaker 1: a very hard like look in the mirror and conversation
- 47:59Speaker 1: with yourself about what's motivating you and like what your
- 48:01Speaker 1: why is behind everything. Because again it's like even with fatherhood,
- 48:04Speaker 1: even with any area in life like career, anything that
- 48:07Speaker 1: goes on in your world that is day to day
- 48:09Speaker 1: and it's gonna be habitual. The environment you're around, stress
- 48:13Speaker 1: is never going to stress is never gonna stop. So
- 48:17Speaker 1: my advice would would be having a very close look,
- 48:22Speaker 1: a very close conversation with yourself on what is motivating
- 48:26Speaker 1: you because there's a lot to be grateful for. Again,
- 48:29Speaker 1: we're gonna talk, and we're gonna laugh, and we're gonna
- 48:31Speaker 1: joke about a lot of the suck and the things
- 48:32Speaker 1: that are tough about parenthood or being a husband, and
- 48:35Speaker 1: what's shitty about work and YadA, YadA, YadA. But no
- 48:38Speaker 1: matter what, you at some point you gotta flip your
- 48:40Speaker 1: mindset and figure out what motivates you, figure out what
- 48:46Speaker 1: you are grateful for. You start with gratitude, your entire
- 48:49Speaker 1: mind shift, Your entire mindset will start to shift.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Yeah. So as simply as I can possibly put it, is.
- 48:56Speaker 1: Understand the conversations you're having with yourself, Like right when
- 48:59Speaker 1: you wake up up in the morning, right when you
- 49:01Speaker 1: wake up, when you're doing everything, whether either you work
- 49:04Speaker 1: out or you don't work out, or whether you're making
- 49:06Speaker 1: breakfast or your your wife needs helps, are doing something
- 49:09Speaker 1: like are you kind of down and having like a
- 49:11Speaker 1: negative voice in your ear when all of these things
- 49:13Speaker 1: are happening. Because if so, that to me is to
- 49:15Speaker 1: tell sign that you need.
- 49:16Speaker 2: To start with yourself.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Yeah, because right there, that'll that'll begin to once you
- 49:21Speaker 1: once you have that little subtle two degrees shift, because
- 49:24Speaker 1: that's really all it is. It's it's it's like, you know,
- 49:27Speaker 1: life is essentially a bunch of choices going through your
- 49:30Speaker 1: head when things are happening to you right yeah, it's like,
- 49:32Speaker 1: oh my gosh, woe is me? Life is happening to
- 49:35Speaker 1: me the moment you grab hold of that and realize
- 49:37Speaker 1: that that's gonna happen no matter what. So once you
- 49:41Speaker 1: filter it out through something differently and really check yourself
- 49:44Speaker 1: on how you're speaking to yourself or how you are
- 49:47Speaker 1: filtering the world and shifted to something, whether it's gratitude
- 49:50Speaker 1: or something positive, or you just catch yourself like, you
- 49:52Speaker 1: know what, I am being kind of a bitch about this,
- 49:54Speaker 1: I am being kind of soft about this. I am
- 49:56Speaker 1: kind of looking at this in a way different way
- 49:59Speaker 1: than how I should be. If you're listening to this
- 50:01Speaker 1: right now and thinking, like, you know, what I do
- 50:03Speaker 1: need to I do need to figure out like what
- 50:05Speaker 1: type of filter I'm using. If you start there you'll
- 50:07Speaker 1: be able to figure out like what you know what,
- 50:10Speaker 1: then you'll start to get excited about what then Like okay,
- 50:12Speaker 1: like let me start with gratitude. Let me start with
- 50:14Speaker 1: what I get to do throughout the day, Like Derek
- 50:16Speaker 1: having that having that monologue he had several episodes ago
- 50:20Speaker 1: on like Hey, I get to do this. Yes, because
- 50:22Speaker 1: the minute that happens is when things will start to
- 50:24Speaker 1: shift for you. Yes, because I know it's tough, man,
- 50:27Speaker 1: I know that shit's hard, and I'm just I'm just
- 50:30Speaker 1: telling you, like, life is never just going to seem easier.
- 50:33Speaker 1: You're gonna get a you're gonna get a pay raise
- 50:35Speaker 1: of promotion, You're gonna have a moment where you feel good,
- 50:37Speaker 1: and that is just as fleeting as a song lyric
- 50:41Speaker 1: for a song lyric from any major hit. Like there's
- 50:43Speaker 1: gonna be other problems that come the next day or
- 50:45Speaker 1: the next week or the next month. You're gonna lose somebody,
- 50:48Speaker 1: something's gonna happen to you with the family. Your wife's
- 50:50Speaker 1: gonna be pissay, she's gonna be in a mood one day.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Your kid, it's not gonna go the way you're gonna
- 50:55Speaker 1: you hope it goes at certain times.
- 50:57Speaker 3: No amount of money, no amount of possessions is going
- 51:02Speaker 3: to fix it either, Like you were saying, with the
- 51:04Speaker 3: promotions and all that stuff, It's say, I feel like
- 51:08Speaker 3: the number one way to get in the mindset of
- 51:11Speaker 3: being able to say good yeah after a shitty situation,
- 51:15Speaker 3: or being able to say hey, I get to do
- 51:17Speaker 3: this is when you are actively trying to better yourself
- 51:22Speaker 3: and giving yourself some self love, giving yourself some opportunities
- 51:27Speaker 3: to win, but to also grow and develop as a person.
- 51:31Speaker 3: I currently am going through that. I've talked about it
- 51:34Speaker 3: on the pod of like, bro, I am going through
- 51:37Speaker 3: the shit right now, Like this is hard. This is
- 51:40Speaker 3: like the last couple of weeks for me. I've been
- 51:43Speaker 3: really really shitty, been bad, And I had a conversation
- 51:47Speaker 3: and sit down with Jill of like, let's it's not like, oh,
- 51:53Speaker 3: things are really shitty. Well what if I got like
- 51:55Speaker 3: the biggest promotion ever what this podcasters blew up and
- 51:58Speaker 3: we had five point two million views per episode? Like, oh,
- 52:03Speaker 3: then I would feel less shitty. No, it's like, Suman,
- 52:07Speaker 3: where are some actual things in your life that need
- 52:09Speaker 3: to change? Like one, I'm I am not sleeping well
- 52:13Speaker 3: I'm on a terrible sleep schedule. I'm not eating well,
- 52:17Speaker 3: I'm out of shape, I'm taking in way too much
- 52:21Speaker 3: caffeine just to keep afloat during the day, and then
- 52:25Speaker 3: that makes me feel even shittier and sleep even worse.
- 52:28Speaker 2: And it's like Sherman, you have to break.
- 52:30Speaker 3: This cycle, and it is going to be a hard
- 52:32Speaker 3: cycle to break, but you need to lock in for
- 52:35Speaker 3: the benefit of your wife and daughter, to be a
- 52:38Speaker 3: more present father, to get out of these fonks in stuff.
- 52:42Speaker 3: You need good sleep, you need some good energy, So
- 52:44Speaker 3: you got to have a better diet. You got to
- 52:46Speaker 3: take care of yourself.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Like that.
- 52:50Speaker 3: Is like the example I would apply to marsh It's like,
- 52:53Speaker 3: find those things in your life that you can better
- 52:56Speaker 3: yourself on because then ultimately that is going to make
- 52:59Speaker 3: you stronger and able to say good in the in
- 53:04Speaker 3: the shitty situations. Does that make sense?
- 53:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 53:06Speaker 1: Absolutely, that would be absolutely nothing changes. If nothing changes, Yes,
- 53:11Speaker 1: And I would say too, you have self love for
- 53:12Speaker 1: yourself for a second, but the minute you have a
- 53:14Speaker 1: little bit of self self love for yourself, like be
- 53:16Speaker 1: fucking hard on yourself.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Yeah, challenge yourself, your challenges.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Change isn't going to happen like the moment change happens.
- 53:22Speaker 1: And again every area is when you're sick and tired
- 53:24Speaker 1: of being sick and tired. Yes, and dude, it for
- 53:29Speaker 1: me it's just I I take an approach of just
- 53:33Speaker 1: being hard of like just being hard.
- 53:35Speaker 2: On myself when it does get to that point.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Yes, it's like, Hey, you don't want to get to
- 53:39Speaker 1: a day where it's like, oh, I'm seeing a lot
- 53:41Speaker 1: at the end of the tunnel. It's like, no, be
- 53:42Speaker 1: the fucking light in the tunnel. And just that's how
- 53:46Speaker 1: you approach it. That's just how you approach it the
- 53:48Speaker 1: whole Nobody's coming to save you. Like that is to me,
- 53:50Speaker 1: the entire mentality about it. Because you might have every
- 53:54Speaker 1: reason to justify every feeling in the world that comes
- 53:57Speaker 1: through your mind. Yeah, every justification every Hey, you might
- 54:01Speaker 1: be right in the situation you're talking about, but no
- 54:03Speaker 1: matter what, unless you take full responsibility and accountability, like
- 54:06Speaker 1: you know what, all of this shit starts with me,
- 54:09Speaker 1: then nothing's going to change and you're gonna continue to
- 54:10Speaker 1: be a finger pointer. And I'm not saying marsh is
- 54:12Speaker 1: a finger pointer. I'm almost just getting in this this
- 54:15Speaker 1: mentality of like you know when those conversations because they're
- 54:17Speaker 1: happening and towards the end of the year, like it
- 54:20Speaker 1: happens with me all the time, where you talk about,
- 54:21Speaker 1: you know, not taking care of yourself, not sleeping, Well,
- 54:23Speaker 1: I haven't worked out like a month and a half.
- 54:25Speaker 1: You're talking about the caffeine and take on on my
- 54:27Speaker 1: ninth or tenth cup of coffee. It's it's fucking nine
- 54:29Speaker 1: pm at night.
- 54:30Speaker 2: That's me.
- 54:31Speaker 1: I mean there's a part where I'm sitting there looking
- 54:32Speaker 1: at my looking at my pale naked body in the mirror,
- 54:36Speaker 1: and I'm just like, God, you are a piece of shit.
- 54:38Speaker 1: And at some point I just know in my head, dude,
- 54:40Speaker 1: will win. Are you going to be sick and tired
- 54:42Speaker 1: of being sick and tired about it and wake start
- 54:43Speaker 1: waking the fuck up early in the morning and taking
- 54:46Speaker 1: care of your business.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Yeah? So yeah, mars fucking and hey.
- 54:51Speaker 3: And the self love, like uh, I would say to that,
- 54:57Speaker 3: the self love can be the wor working out like
- 55:00Speaker 3: the suck, like the stuff that does suck to do,
- 55:03Speaker 3: that's hard to do, Like when you are bettering yourself
- 55:07Speaker 3: and you're taking those moments of like bettering yourself, that
- 55:11Speaker 3: can be.
- 55:11Speaker 2: The self love.
- 55:12Speaker 3: So to your point, don't let the self love be like, oh,
- 55:15Speaker 3: I you know, I'm great, everything's great. It's these people's fault.
- 55:20Speaker 3: Have that self love be more like pouring into yourself
- 55:24Speaker 3: for improvement the aka therapy aka going to the gym,
- 55:28Speaker 3: aka pouring into positive hobbies, positive people in your life,
- 55:33Speaker 3: et cetera. Yeah, yeah, so that was a good point
- 55:37Speaker 3: of like, don't let self love distract you.
- 55:39Speaker 2: I didn't want to.
- 55:40Speaker 1: No, not at all, Not at all. It's just form
- 55:43Speaker 1: my approach. It's more of just the way I get
- 55:46Speaker 1: in my own face. It's like, get in your face
- 55:48Speaker 1: about it. Picture yourself grabbing you by the throat and
- 55:50Speaker 1: putting yourself against the wall and be like, when are
- 55:52Speaker 1: you gonna wake the fuck up? Let the heart turn black.
- 55:55Speaker 1: Let the heart turn black. Yes, let the heart turn black.
- 55:57Speaker 1: The only way, the only way I know how.
- 55:59Speaker 2: It's a good, good way. It's a good way.
- 56:01Speaker 3: I've I've come to adopt it, and I'm I enjoy it. Oh,
- 56:06Speaker 3: I got some that's sorry.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Real quick.
- 56:08Speaker 4: We have a lot of dads that say the word
- 56:09Speaker 4: failure a lot, like phone calls and stuff like that,
- 56:12Speaker 4: and I would love to hear you guys talk about
- 56:13Speaker 4: that for two seconds off that comment because the guy's like, Dude,
- 56:15Speaker 4: I don't want to be a failure. I think you
- 56:17Speaker 4: guys are a good example that I get having a
- 56:18Speaker 4: loss doesn't make you a failure, like preparing for it
- 56:21Speaker 4: and coming out of it, because that's what I got
- 56:23Speaker 4: from his is him being like, dude, I'm I'm a
- 56:24Speaker 4: failure because these things are all happening. Like you guys
- 56:27Speaker 4: are a perfect example and continuous to say, it's not
- 56:29Speaker 4: about the losses that come your way.
- 56:30Speaker 2: It's about preparing and what you learn from it. Just
- 56:33Speaker 2: the coolest part I thought from the comment.
- 56:34Speaker 3: Yeah, fail A failure is someone that is failing to
- 56:39Speaker 3: act in the moment, like when you when you don't
- 56:43Speaker 3: take action, or something needs fixed and we're not taking
- 56:47Speaker 3: proactive steps to fix it. I think that is the
- 56:51Speaker 3: only definition of like the word failure. Hard things are
- 56:57Speaker 3: going to happen all the time. You're going to mess
- 56:59Speaker 3: up all the fucking time. You're gonna give your kid
- 57:01Speaker 3: Bobby for a week, You're gonna give them the wrong formula.
- 57:06Speaker 3: But like that is not like when you have those
- 57:10Speaker 3: hiccups or when you are beating yourself up like, you're
- 57:12Speaker 3: not a failure. A failure is exactly what Will was saying,
- 57:15Speaker 3: quitting and going his fault, his fault, his fault, my
- 57:20Speaker 3: job's fault, my wife's fault.
- 57:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a failure.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Taking taking the fail the failing to act and more
- 57:28Speaker 1: of like uh I would I would The wrinkle I
- 57:31Speaker 1: would say, is the failing to respond because it's all
- 57:35Speaker 1: about it's it's it's at the end of the day,
- 57:37Speaker 1: it's gonna be all about how you respond in every
- 57:39Speaker 1: moment because again we're we're nothing but a makeup of
- 57:42Speaker 1: all of our failures, and it's it's surely like, how
- 57:44Speaker 1: do we respond in those moments where we didn't show up?
- 57:46Speaker 1: Because fatherhood, parenthood, in this area of parenthood that we're
- 57:50Speaker 1: talking about is it's not about being perfect, not about
- 57:52Speaker 1: looking back and be like, look at all these wins
- 57:54Speaker 1: I had. No, it's just it's fining a way to
- 57:56Speaker 1: be consistent and show up. Like, even if you do
- 57:59Speaker 1: have a bad day or a bat moment, you're never
- 58:00Speaker 1: defined by that moment, that bad day, that bad week.
- 58:02Speaker 1: It might last a month, but if you if you
- 58:05Speaker 1: wake up the next day and go about it, go
- 58:08Speaker 1: about it a different way and respond the right way.
- 58:10Speaker 1: That to me is where you're going to ultimately start
- 58:13Speaker 1: having progress. It's all about progress. It's all about showing
- 58:16Speaker 1: up because again it's it's never about chasing perfection. It's
- 58:19Speaker 1: about showing up because that's what parenthood is because you're
- 58:22Speaker 1: gonna have bad words, like you know, I mess up
- 58:24Speaker 1: all the time with how I feel like I talked
- 58:26Speaker 1: to Rue every now and then and I'm like, ah,
- 58:28Speaker 1: that didn't that didn't come out the way that I
- 58:30Speaker 1: thought it would or the way I wanted it to. Like,
- 58:32Speaker 1: I'll have another opportunity. I need to figure out the
- 58:34Speaker 1: next opportunity seem to come.
- 58:36Speaker 3: Uptikos, we interrupt this program to bring you a little
- 58:41Speaker 3: something special.

- 1:01:48Speaker 1: Lewis twenty two on YouTube. Imagine the excitement when Chefchack
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: becomes part of PT six one day.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: What way did they just whomes? Yeah? Just imagine the
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: excitement when Chef Chack becomes part of PT six.
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: One got me sick? Hopefully not anytime soon. I need
- 1:02:10Speaker 7: to kick some stuff out, I will say.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: I feel like it.
- 1:02:15Speaker 7: Goes without saying being on a dad podcast as a
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: twenty four year old, I am excited for that one day.
- 1:02:22Speaker 7: It's super cool. It's cool to watch you guys interact
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: and talk about it and stuff. And I think it's like,
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: I think a lot of guys, some of isn't even
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: talked about a lot is there are a lot of
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: young guys out there that really aspire to be to
- 1:02:34Speaker 7: be dads, and it's not talked about because you're twenty
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: four and it's like, hey, let's go, it's Saturday, let's go,
- 1:02:39Speaker 7: let's go hang out or do stupid shit. Yeah, but
- 1:02:42Speaker 7: it's like, I think there's a lot of dudes out
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: there that it never really gets communicated as much. Where
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: I feel like women you see it all the time.
- 1:02:47Speaker 7: Where women are like, I can't wait to be a mother.
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: I do think there's a very strong contingent of young
- 1:02:52Speaker 7: men out there like myself there, like, hey, when that
- 1:02:55Speaker 7: day comes, it's gonna be a sick, fucking yeah, awesome
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: ride and you aspire for that.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: So it's cool, well said St six. Yeah, that's your
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: captain St six seam and team. He's definitely having a
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: boy first. By the way, you think I'm you should

- 1:03:41Speaker 7: Shout out, it's really awesome saving on some money right now.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: But I get in there.
- 1:03:45Speaker 7: My mom she listens to every episode and she was
- 1:03:49Speaker 7: laughing and she goes, hey, I listened to the episode.
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: The train doesn't work the train, like we didn't put
- 1:03:55Speaker 7: ornaments on the bottom half of the tree when you're
- 1:03:57Speaker 7: a toddler because you destroyed everything. Oh no, I'll play
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: the I'll play the video right now.

- 1:04:18Speaker 7: to my surprise, that was a great way to start,
- 1:04:20Speaker 7: you know, my Wednesday when I get home, and so
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: I take a little video and send it to the
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: fellas and I'm just sitting there thinking I should have
- 1:04:26Speaker 7: thought that through because my parents, my whole life, told
- 1:04:28Speaker 7: me that I was a fucking menace.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Yeah, look the only dad hack out there.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: It seems like, don't put ornaments on the bottom half
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: of the tree. I will say, we got I do
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: have scott Zilla in check. She'll go over there. I'll
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: kind of tell her, gentle, because Charles always sitting here
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: like with it, whether she's patting waffle or like, you know,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: doing something she doesn't want to rip off. She back gentle, gentle,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: and she'll kind of like look at you and be
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: kind of soft about it. But I've been keeping her,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: We've been keeping her in pretty good check with the
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: with the ornaments. She hasn't been too too much of
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: a problem to society recently when it comes to the ornaments.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: I got some love this pod comments that we can
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: run through really quick, rip all out of the comments,

- 1:05:23Speaker 3: y'all break the news of pregnancy to your family members?
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Thanks for all the advice that's gonna come and handy
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: real soon.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: What I did when we were having root for the
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: first time is I went on a Amazon and got
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: the coffee cups that says like Grandma and Grandpa, and
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: then they have like the stats the stats below. It
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: looks like a nutrition a nutrition label on the side
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: of a of.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: A food box. Yeah, we got up little coffee cups.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: They opened it up, had it.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: And then I want to say, I got a T shirt,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: like I got these t shirts on Amazon that said
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: like uh something with like uncle or Tarano. So I
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: can't fucking remember, I don't know, but anyway, that's what
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I did. I got gifts, they opened it up, they
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: saw tears.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: Jill went on a FaceTime rampage when she found out
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: that she was pregnant because she was nervous, and so
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: she faceigned one of her nursing friends of is this
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: a positive pregnancy test? So now that nursing friend knows,
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: she facetimes her cousin. That's basically her sister shout out Megan,
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: who has a child, is this a positive preak? Like
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: does this look positive? Yes, that's posibly Okay, Now cousin knows. Well,
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: now that those two people know, my mom has to know.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: That's my closest person to face times her mom.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: So by that.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Time, when Sherman got home and she laid out the
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: pregnancy test, which fun little wrinkled, we weren't able to
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: post our video because I come in and I see
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: the pregnancy tests on the sweater. I yelled out, I
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: fucking told you because I told Jill that we were
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: gonna go one for one and doing the math in
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: my head.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: We went one for once, So fun times there. Yeah,
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: so I just facedign my my mom and dad.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Yeah, listen, there's no way, there's no perfect there's no
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: perfect way.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: They're going to be ecstatic. They're gonna be ecstatic and
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: shout out Tristan.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: I My next comment is actually about a person that
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: is announcing number three.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: Will and Shurm. I'm a father of two amazing boys.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: Four and two, and my wife and I recently found
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: out that we're expecting our third baby. To add to
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: the anxiety of the whole process, wife, he wants to
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: wait until birth to find out the gender. That means
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: agreeing on two names and not being able to mentally prepare.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Would love to hear how you fellas would handle the situation. Sincerely,
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: Nick H from Saint Francis County, Missouri.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Howltt what he's got a third one? Let's fucking go.

- 1:08:10Speaker 3: He texted me and he goes, hey, man, what's the
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: plan If if Will doesn't.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: Pick up that, it's me? You know what are you
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: gonna have to jump in there? You know? Spotify? Is
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: that Google? With that one? From? He goes.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: You know that that brain plus CT we don't know.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: I said, I'll hold his hand and guide it to him.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: If it didn't click, I was gonna be like, hey,
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: Saint Francis County, will is that.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Where you laid that one up for me?
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: I think you might have said Nick h first and
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: for something. Oh, I did say the name of my boys,
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: name of my best friend.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: I said the text. I said.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: If he doesn't get it, I'm going to be really
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: worried for you. But yes, Nick, Nick's having his third
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: So congrats.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Congrats Nick and Rachel. Yes absolutely, I'm thinking my head
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: like yeah. Charles brought up waiting, like, hey, I want
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: to say with Scottie. Maybe because we did a fresh
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: transfer to he you don't know the gender through IVF.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: But she was like, do you want to wait until
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: the birth? I'm like, no, no, no, no, we ain't wait
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: to know. I gotta know.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: Really fun story for you guys. My mom and dad
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: decide to do that with me. My mom's gonna hate
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: that I'm telling the story, but I love my mother.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: Very spiritual gal and God told her she was having
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: twin girls, and so because of that, she then told
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: everybody that she was having twin girls when all fat staff.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Was bacon in the oven.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: So she is looking people dead in the eyes and saying,
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: I'm having twin girls. All the gifts are coming in.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: They paint the nursery pink and yellow. Pink and yellow nursery.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: And then sure enough, she had a follow up dream
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: where an angel came to her because I am the
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: second born and I'm named after my dad, which was
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: very rare. She had an angel come to her in
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: a dream just a couple of nights before I was
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: born and said, it's actually a boy, and you need
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: to honor your husband and name him after your husband.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: And I was wearing pink onesies in that pink and
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: yellow nursery.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: I beg that angel case aau.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: I see you've been telling everybody you've been getting way
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: too many games.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: Big Man was joking, Big Man's joker. Hey, we need
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: a cute thing.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: Big Man was joking up there, we gotta fix out
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: at dinner when we're praying a little bit.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: I love you, mom. That's a very fun story to tell.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: Oh that's awesome.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: So yeah, very very surprising. When she came out into
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: the waiting room and said it's a boy. Actually it's
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: not twin girls and his name Sherman. So yes, uh well,
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: let's do one more comment and then we can go
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: into our call.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: We like that. How are we doing on timing? We're good?
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Oh sorry, well then we'll do crack of Colvin.

- 1:14:22Speaker 1: a bunch of kids to get on board by saying, hey,
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: it was headed to the North Pole. Magic or not?
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: That has to be a felony written all over such
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: a great tweet, dude, It was Pizza Friday. Why it's
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: pizza Friday? Movie night, a nice weekly tradition that we have.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: We were watching Polar Express. Yeah, great movie. I've seen
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: it before. It's a good movie.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: And I'm sitting there and I'm sitting there watching it
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: this second time through. It was my second or third
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: time seeing the movie. You know, Ruse fired up. We
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: saw last year. But she kind of doesn't remember where
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: I remember. Police says, yeah, but she's enthralled by this movie.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: Not a lot of words throughout the movie.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of just.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Fascination and imagination, singing and yeah, singing and dancing. And
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: his train comes in the middle of the night, and
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: this kid is just outside in his backyard, not really
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: bundled up, and he stands there and sees Tom Hanks,
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: the the what is it called, the engineer, the train conductor,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: and he's just like headed to the North Pole, and
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: and the kid just gets on and then you get on.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: They get on the train, and the car is just
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: a bunch of kids.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: You don't think.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: There's no adults, there's no nothing. It's just hey, you
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: got this golden ticket. We're going up to the North Pole.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: You get to meet Santa Claus, you get to meet

- 1:15:51Speaker 1: the night. That's crazy, that's crazy, It's crazy.
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: I know that Will had one eyebrow up, one brown.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: I looked over my wife. I looked over my wife.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: I said, could you imagine, because you know what, we
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: got the train, we got the railroad basically in the backyard.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Could you imagine if Rude just got up in the
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: middle of night, went outside and got on a train
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: because she thought it was headed to the North Pole.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Bro I want to watch any fantasy I want to
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: watch any fantasy movie with Will, Like The Goodies and

- 1:16:32Speaker 2: Real, there's a treasure. Imagine if you're looking for Hey it.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Just to confirm, I went to Google and I was like,
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: is Polar Express is that they want to No?
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: No, no, no, no no. I typed in.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: I was like, because I kind of missed, I kind
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: of missed a oh man, a part that I was
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: trying to get confirmed, which was right before that. I'm wondering,
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: is that based on a dream? You know what I mean?
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Like kid goes asleep and then it's a dream. But
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: then they're telling me like, no, this is just it's
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: just a it's just like magic.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Hey, magic or not, that's just a fella. Dad comes
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: in and kissed some good night.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: Like it lose to a couple of subtle hints that
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: the train's gonna be coming at midnight. The clock strikes
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: whatever it is, and then the kid just goes outside.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: But it's not a dream. Yeah, so I think, all right,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: maybe this is a dream. And I missed that part
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: before I fired this one off. I confirmed that it
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: like wasn't a dream. And the kid just went out
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: in the backyard got on a train because he thought
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: I was going to the North Pole. That's crazy because
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: we're driving. My wife and I were driving to that
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: double date and I'm just like, sweetheart that Pole Express.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: And buddy, he wait. He wakes up at the end
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: of the movie and he goes, was it a dream?
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: We just teaching our kids it's okay to go outside
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: in the middle of the night when they're stowing on
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: the ground waiting for a train. Is hey, you guys
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: going to the North Pole? She said, Baby, you know,

- 1:20:16Speaker 1: give me a second, let me get the camera ready.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: There are this arms going like this, and I'm like,
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: come on, we've been going for two minutes. I run
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: out of road, run out of memory on my phone, Scarlett,
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: She's going like this and then dude, my dad voice.
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: I was cringing listening to my dad voice. I'll play
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: it really quick if we want, we can react to
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: my dad voice.
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: Thank you, go on, there you go?
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: Yeah that ain't no ya get over there.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: Oh there we go.
- 1:21:02Speaker 9: It was so good.
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: Oh my gos scarlet celebration. I love it. What am
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: I doing?
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: You got your back? Oh, you got der back in
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: And the first time I don't know if I had
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: touched on this on the pod. The first official flip
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: by herself was unseen because dad As was doing tummy
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: time with her and she was getting so close to
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: flipping over. This was when Jill was I forget Oh,
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: she was working. It was on one of my solo
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: Saturdays and I'm doing tewny times. She won't flip. I'm like, oh,
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: I'm hungry. I gotta make a PB and jay. So
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: she's her playpin's right there by the kitchen, so I'm
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: able to keep an eye on her.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: I go get the bread.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: And the peanut butter and jelly out, and I swear
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: I look into the playpen and she's on her back.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: I was like, you gotta be kidding me, Damn. I
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: just sat there with you for almost thirty minutes.
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: And as soon as I get up, and it was
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: because she wanted to see me in the kitchen.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: That was like, what goal flip her back over? Yes,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: she never did it. I was sitting there like, so
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: then I go stand in the kitchen. I'm like scarch card,
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: Scotch car.
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: Look at Dad, Look at Dad, flip over, look at that.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: She never did it, and now I finally have evidence.
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: I'm not crazy. Look at that. Look at that.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: He ain't shit, man, man, man, you ain't Joe daddy girl.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: Oh my crack a cold one. Christmas traditions, Yeah, Christmas traditions.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: My wife, she loves to do what are them calendars
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: called the dure Yeah, the Advent calendars. Yes, or she
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: has these little slots, you know, entire month of December,
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: and she likes to get this throwback camera to where
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: it prints out the little the little photo, whether it's
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: or whatever it is. But every night, some kind of photo,
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: whether it's me and the kiddos or and the kiddos,
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: the kiddos, Yeah, tonight was the was the grandparents Lola
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: and open the kiddos. Yeah, take a picture every night,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: throw it in the Advent calendar.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: We do Christmas cookies. We're making them. My told that
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: story on Saturday Night. Christmas cookies.
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: Obviously pictures with saying now whenever you have, but just
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: overall Christmas traditions.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: That you do as a family.
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: I love that putting up, the putting up the trees,
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: and an easy obvious one that was always my favorite
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: because of the tradition of my godparents sending me a
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: custom ornament every single year. Yeah, that's when I got
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: to unbox my newest ornament.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Bro.
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: And you don't appreciate custom ornaments and just in my
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: until you get older, Yes, just the way it is.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: Yeah, well you're like, damn, why you just send me
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: an ornament?
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: And I wanted this toy, I wanted you know, this
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: video game, I wanted this or that, you just send
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: me an ornament. But now they're older, Like we still
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: have that nineteen eighty nine Willie see ornament from when
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: I was born.
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, a couple of from back in the.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: Day, the.
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: Annual ornaments that Charle and I might have when.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: It was just me, charl and Waffle, the me, Charle,
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: Waffle and Rue and now all of us was Scottie. Yep,
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: there's always an ornament every year, man, that I just appreciate.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: We did busting ornaments one year. I got a couple
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: of buses hanging There's one hanging on Roue's little tree,
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: one hanging on ours.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: Massive Star Wars fans, so I gotta get the lead,
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: you know, I gotta yield to ornament.
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: We got to talk some Star Wars one day. I
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: didn't realize that you were so into it, dude. I
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: love Star warss going though. I'm sorry, but overall, just
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: Christmas traditions. There's just nothing tis the season. There's nothing
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: that just brings life together in the season together like
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: Christmas traditions, like where we.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: Have another like Advent.
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: I believe it's an Advent calendar where there's like chocolates inside.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: So he's got a little you know, she's got to
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: crack one open each night. She's always fired up and
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: sitting right next to her for dinner. Can I open
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: this one? That? You know what fires me up about
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: this Advent calendar. She's kind of got to sitting next
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: to her at dinner, and it reminds me of like,
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: you know, kids these days, they's sitting there in the
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: mornings Like for me, we grew up on the cereal
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: boxes where you're sitting there eating cereal and you'd be
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: looking at the box the entire time because you didn't
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: have the phones, you didn't have everything else going on.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: But she's all fired up because she's got this advent
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: calendar sitting next to her and there, you know, I'll
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: try to have her spot these animals or it's got
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: all the numbers on us. I'm like fine, thirteen, Like
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: what you know what two numbers are in thirteen? And
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: so she's looking at this box will time just salivating
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: at the opportunity, like hey, you finish your dinner, you
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: get to eat the chocolate. She'll want to pop the
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: chocolate out early because she just want to see is
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: like what it is, whether it's just stocking a deer
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: Santa claus An ornament, what a snowflake. Yeah, she just
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: wants to sitting right there like, okay, I get that
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: if I eat my dinner.
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: But just Christmas traditions, man, my to throw.
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: Onto the traditions talk my parents. I was that kid
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: at school. I don't remember what grade. It was maybe
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: fourth or fifth that my parents had me believe in
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: so hardcore, dude in Santa they were so good.
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: Just to give some dad hacks, some tips.
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: Dad would get his big old work boots and he
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: would stamp them real hard in the fireplace. He'd build
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: a fire and then he would stamp them on the fireplace,
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: and he would put ash footprints throughout the living room.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: Ever by the tree where the gifts are, that's amazing.
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: He would go over to the cookies where the cookies were,
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: and my mom would get the cushions and sit next
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: to the cookies and push the cushions in so it
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: looked like Santa was sitting there drinking and eating the cookies.
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: They even did it for the Easter Bunny. People don't
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: even do that for the Easter Bundy. They'd leave glitter
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: rabbit paus like with glitter around the yard and on
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: our front porch. I'm like, oh, well, they when I
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: found out Santa wasn't real, in full tears, I go, is.
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: The Easter Bunny not real either? That's how bad they
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: had me, dude. It was how old? How old were
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: when you found out about Santa Claus? I take fourth grade? Yeah,
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: I was close to that too.
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: Like I would look my friends in the eyes and
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: be like, I don't care what you say.
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: I swear to God. And you know, when you're a.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: Kid saying I swear to God, Like that's the biggest
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: of the biggest, Yeah, I swear to God, saying Israel,
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: I've seen him with my own eyes. Like when we
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: lived with my grandparents, my grandpa would dress up as
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: Santa Claus and then my mom would wake me up
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: in the middle of the night. I remember this so vividly.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: She woke me up in the middle of night. My
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: brother and I are like sleeping together on this full
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: sized bed. She wakes me up and she's like, hey, come, look,
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: and she took me to the crack of the door
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: and just had the crack of the door open, and
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: I just see the back of Santa Claus like putting
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: down presents.
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: I'm just like, holy shit.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: And from that moment, I would whether you're at the
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: whether I'm at the cafeteria and class, whatever it is,
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: I'd be like, I, guys, I it makes sense what
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: you're saying, but I shit, you, I have seen this man.
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: I have seen this man.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: And I'm like, maybe maybe, maybe he doesn't bring all
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: the presents, but I'm just telling you, there's got to
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: be one there at least, no matter what.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: And old Billy two shelves just sitting there dressed as Santa,
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: just laying the presence down, Yeah, laying.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: The presence down, dressing a full Santa suit fir. Yeah,
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: I was about fourth grade as well. Maybe maybe a
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: little bit later.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: I don't. I don't know, but dude, I would go
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: toes with my boys.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Man for everyone would try and break it to me,
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: and I'm like, I don't believe you.
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: Like I get it. I get it.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: Everything you're saying about the optics at night time and
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: everything else, I get it.
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: How's he going from Abu Dhabi to Saint Francis, Missouri
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: in the same day.
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: Yeah, they're like, you know, they would be tracking him
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: on TV.
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: And then my dad we'd always read this story at
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: night before, you know, as Christmas is coming, and if
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: he'd go out, he'd be playing there he isn't. I'm
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: just like, oh my god, it'll just be some star
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: apparently airplanes. Yeah, yeah, it's a different color. Maybe it's
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: got a little orange in the star or something. I'd
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: just be like, man, yeah, I guess that's him.
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: And my dad would my dad would go in the
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: backyard when there's an airplane now in the front yard,
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: and Mom would take us out and look, it's him.
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: My dad would be in the backyard going to team
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: with the jingle bells. I mean, bro, they had me
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: also for editing purposes, we can put this at.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: The beginning smart because it's a family show. Is a
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: family a family show.
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: Warning is necessary? Yes, did I tell you guys that.
- 1:29:22Speaker 7: When my brother was in fifth grade, I was on
- 1:29:24Speaker 7: a family vacation with him my dad, and uh, that's
- 1:29:27Speaker 7: when I decided to tell.
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: Him Santa wasn't real. When I ruined the entire vacation,
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: fucking chef man. I was really really proud of that one.
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: As a middle schooler, my brother did, if I'm remembering correctly.
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: On my brother was the one that told my parents,
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: need you need to tell Sherman. He's catching flak at
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: school and he's like, he's coming to me about it.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: You need to tell him. It's time.
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: I'd get made fun of for having pointy years in
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: elementary school. My mom told me to tell the kids
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: that I was an undercover elf that would go tell
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: Santa who was on the naughty list, and so then
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: making fun of my ears that that's a surefire away
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: to get on the nipty list.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: Did it work?
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: This kid has forty years anything Santa's real? What fucking goofball?
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: My sweet mother? Yeah, thinkase, she set me up for success.
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: I mean you like do like say they have Santa
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: or we had like a picture thing at school one time,
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: and I'm like, this is a bullshit Santa. That ain't anything.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: There's this reindeer I had, like a mascotthead Ar.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: I'm like, who's in there? You ain't no fucking reindeer?
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: Man? Was that?
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: Ricky? Ricky?
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: I know that ain't Santa Claus. I'm big, I'm big
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: as ship.
- 1:30:58Speaker 10: Hey, I want to get one thing. I know you
- 1:31:02Speaker 10: ain't the real thing, So just gumkley I seen the
- 1:31:06Speaker 10: real You got my scratchy voice going the real one.
- 1:31:09Speaker 10: He's around the same size as my daddy. Yeah, you
- 1:31:12Speaker 10: ain't as big as my daddy.
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: Did.
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: The Nie set a situation where she started to which
- 1:31:18Speaker 4: she watches it, but she had a situation where she goes, hey, mom,
- 1:31:22Speaker 4: why do I gotta tell Sanna what I want again?
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: When I just told him last week what I wanted? Like,
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: why doesn't he remember what I want? And the lines
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: that they danced on to get around that one was
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: basically the whole like, oh, there's a network of people
- 1:31:36Speaker 4: that help Sanna get for it.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: Dada dada. That one wasn't the real one.
- 1:31:39Speaker 4: The first one was so he's gonna tell him again,
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: but she just goes, why do I gotta tell him again?
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: I was like, ah, oh, she's on to it. Man,
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: It's a tricky dance.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: Christmas traditions, man, Yeah, embrace him because again, as you
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: get like as Paris being older, you're gonna think like, uh,
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: I'm speaking more so to dads because life gets moving,
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: like you might think, oh, we got another year. Like, bro,
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: you're on, We're only going to have so many chances.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: With our little ones. Yeah.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: In traditions, it's like, traditions matter because they slow life.
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: They slow life down like kids grow fast. You know,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: life is chaos. A lot of the times, our day
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: to day feels just like uh, you know that organized
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: chaos with the Google calendar reminded on it. And traditions
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: they remind you that, hey, this is home. The sense
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: of belonging, the sense of community, just the sense of
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: embracing you know, whether it's gifts and gifts don't even matter.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: It's just the feeling that you have from having family traditions,
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: from having these Christmas traditions. It's like when Charles wanted
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: to do these few things, these things that we do
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: each night. It just fires me up because this is
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: how we are molding our kids for how they feel
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: when they get older and have a family.
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: You know what I mean, Like.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: The big gifts, the expensive gifts like you. I remember
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: when I first got my second genesis. I remember a
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: few different gifts that I got along the way. But
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: it's not the gifts don't matter, it's the feeling you have. Yeah,
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: that what your parents created when you were in these moments.
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: It was the letters of My grandmother lived in Florida,
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: and when she got really sick, we do Christmas there. Well,
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: Santa would always leave a note. Jordan Sherman, I almost
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: missed you guys. I was in Texas. You guys were
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: n't there. I said, Hey, they must be at Grandma's
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: in Florida. Yeah, so I went and double checked. Found
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: you guys. Glad we got everything figured out. Love, Saint Nick.
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: Those are the little details. Doesn't have to be some big,
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: grandiose gift. No, it's just the magic of.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: The Yeah, it doesn't have to be big. It can
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: be the same movie you watch every year. Yeah, the
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: same meal, the same dumb joke.
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: Jingle, all the way. Dude, such a banger, dude. Yeah,
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: it's the repetition.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: The repetition builds that safety builds, that culture.
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: Yep. Because again, it's not gonna be the gifts.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: It's gonna be the feeling that you gave them that
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: they are one day going to pass along. They're one
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: day going to pass along, because man, we're only gonna
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: get what about ten opportunities with our little ones, Like
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: if you're a new dad, or you're in it with
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: the toddler, or you have a six seven, you know,
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: and I would love for parents to chime on, to
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: chime in in the comments that have been through this
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: entire process. Now you have grown kids that are now adults.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: But I'm thinking to myself, like you get on Instagram,
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: you see all these things like how many summers you have?
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: How many opportunities we're gonna have with our little kids?
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: And usually the age, the common age that all the dads,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: that all the people that kind of speak to parent
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: culture they talk about is these ten opportunities. It's like,
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: we're gonna have ten Christmases. And then you know, as
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: they get older, that fourth grade, they're gonna they're gonna
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: it's gonna be about their friends. When you get done
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: with Christmas, they're gonna be ready to get out of
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: the house. Hey Mom, Dad, can I go here? Can
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: I go there? Can I do all these things? Because
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: they're gonna have They're gonna have other things going on
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: externally in their life to where the parents side isn't
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: as cool anymore. You'll still have those foundational tradition traditions,
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: which is why it's embraced them now so that way
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: they know what it's going to be like. They know
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: what that repetition is going to be. Like you're in
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: and you're out. But with our little ones that's here
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: for us right now that we get to enjoy. We're
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: only gonna have about ten of those opportunities. So it's like,
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: embrace those things. Embrace those things because that's the legacy
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: you're gonna leave for them that they're going to carry
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: over when they are parents one day.
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: Yes, it's like, dude, every year.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: For me, it's like when I was busting Matt Malone's
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: balls or somebody's balls the other day on the stream
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: when we had the Christmas Story playing on the left,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: I think I was sitting right next to Jared and
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: I was kind of walking through all these scenes because
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: that is the you're a quote the movie was on mute,
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: and I'm kind of telling him, you know, I'm I'm
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: like mouthing the quotes that are going on right now. Hey,
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: here's what's gonna happen next. Kid's gonna start swinging on them.
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: He's like, oh, crying for me when Wain crying like
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: he's about to jump him right now, start swinging all Mom,
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: it's gonna come watch this. But every year at Christmas,
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: Christmas Story is on T and T twenty four twenty
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: four hours around the clock. Yeah, and my mom just
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: always had the Christmas Story on like that movie to
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: be playing around the clock all day long, like while
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: we were doing Christmas.
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: So it something that I remember the feeling of.
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: All these traditions that we had, you know what I
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: mean to where you're wanting to carry those things over.
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: So that's like the thing that you're going to leave
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: with them as you build out these traditions.
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: With your family.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: And again we're talking about holiday season right now, but
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: this goes for all traditions you have. We do like
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: pizza Friday, movie Day. You know, we're going to do
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: things annually set whatever it is to where they're going
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: to know that we are going to repeat some of
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: these traditions.
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: You're in and you're out.
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: So it's like things to look forward to as a
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: family because you hope that one day they carry it forward. Yeah,
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: and then that's how they remember mom and dad when
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: mom and dad are no longer around. Yes, so shout
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: out to shout out to Christmas traditions.
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: Embrace them.
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: And dad's if your wife's sitting there bugging you about
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: doing wanting to do this certain thing all the time,
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: whether it's every day or once a week, whatever it is, dude,
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: embrace it because you don't know how many times we're
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: going to have these these moments, these seasons, like with
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: our kiddos.
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: Yes, and shout out, shout out, jingle all the way,
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: shout out Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yeah, his son is actually in
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: the terminal list dark Wolf by the way, No ship.
- 1:37:13Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: Who?
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Patrick Schwartzengg and White Loatus season four and in
- 1:37:18Speaker 2: White Loadus season four, Patrick, don't want that one is
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: Dark Wolf, the one that just came out.
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: That's the prequel. Yeah, that's that's the one, I think.
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: Patrick Schwarzenegger said, he's in Dark Wolf.
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: Is that what he's saying, Patrick Schwarzenegger, I don't recognize him,
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: but the terminalism, he's the terminal I was like, not
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: dark Wolf, he's in the original.
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: Oh the O G O g's in the og.
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: God that scene in jingle all the way putting it together,
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: Arnold Schwartzinger, Jamie, your dad is so proud of you,
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: he loves you.
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: Well, he's not here.
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: How do you know that, because Jamie, I'm your father,
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: chat packs Old.
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: I showed Cat for the first time that movie the
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: other day.
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: I didn't realize or remember how crazy the jet back
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: scene was because in my mind it's all could happen.
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: And then he sliding around on a jetback due in
- 1:38:10Speaker 3: three sixties above. I'm like, every ship Ultraman? Is that
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: what the guy's name was? Was it Ultraman?
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: Great call? Oh it's double time. Let's hit the voicemails
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: six and one.
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: The dad's call in for a chance to be featured
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: on the show again, whether it's a dad win, a
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: dad loss calling to check in, give us some game,
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: put us on a dad hack, something to put in
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: the survival kit, whatever, it is call in six and
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: one the dads.
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: We will feature you on the show. Let's rip them.
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: Shocked that no dads have farted into the voicemail by
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: the way, oh don't don't challenge him saying I'm shocked
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: that we have a god named fart voice faults help
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: on a shelf?
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: Out here we go. What's up? Boys?
- 1:39:00Speaker 5: This is Kenny from Georgia. Huge fan of the show.
- 1:39:04Speaker 5: I'm a twenty six year old soon to be father
- 1:39:06Speaker 5: of two. Got an almost four year old little boy
- 1:39:09Speaker 5: right now. Ken, the wife and I are expecting the
- 1:39:11Speaker 5: second one coming up here first week of morning. Super
- 1:39:14Speaker 5: fun to be a dad again. Can't wait to dive
- 1:39:17Speaker 5: headed first back into the newborn trenches. I did have
- 1:39:20Speaker 5: a question Christmas time coming up. This is the first
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: year that we have been participating in the elk on
- 1:39:27Speaker 5: the Shelf deal that happens. I'm absolutely on a heater
- 1:39:31Speaker 5: right now. I have fought in. We are producing and
- 1:39:34Speaker 5: it's going well. But I'm starting to get to the
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: point where I'm shooting off the hip and I'm looking
- 1:39:38Speaker 5: for some new ideas. Curious to see are y'all doing
- 1:39:41Speaker 5: the helf thing at your house?
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: Is if you are.
- 1:39:44Speaker 5: Maybe you got some stories, maybe you got some advice,
- 1:39:47Speaker 5: need some new ideas, looking for some fresh content in
- 1:39:50Speaker 5: the house right now. So appreciate it.
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: Thank y'all. A couple questions. Kenny, by the way, that
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: was Kenny. Shout out Kenny, Kenny, thank you for calling in.
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: Listen to your boy.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: I was never an ELF on the shelf guy, so
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: I don't even know the rules of ELF on a shelf.
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: I was the type of kid to where since I
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: didn't know what was going on. I got older, my
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: boys were talking about ELF on a shovel man.
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: That just sounds gay. Bro, Will let me introduce you. Hey,
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: I'm just being honest. That's young Will. I'm not saying
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: that now. I would love to embrace Yeah, Elf, that's
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: some pushy ship dude. You talk about ELF on What's
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: Gonna Happened? School was essentially just shame Gillis, you're just
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: kind of gay, kind of gay dude. That just sounds weak.
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: It's ELF's fucking up your house and your dad hasn't
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: done ship about it.
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: That's so that's my first question is what is explain
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: ELF on a ship? Because I don't even know what
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: it is. Charle brought it up this year.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: We know we didn't do it or we didn't get
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: into it. I don't know if we're too late, like
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: if you have time starting on.
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: The first a prime example.
- 1:40:54Speaker 11: Yes, too late, too late now to do it? You
- 1:40:57Speaker 11: can yeah, okay, you just you buy the elf on
- 1:41:00Speaker 11: the shelf. Perfect example for this right here our studio.
- 1:41:04Speaker 11: If we had our own elf on a shelf, you
- 1:41:07Speaker 11: would have all these feathers scattered all over and you'd
- 1:41:10Speaker 11: have the elf sitting right there, so that the kids go,
- 1:41:13Speaker 11: who made this mess? And then little elf sitting there,
- 1:41:16Speaker 11: Oh my gosh, the elf did it. And he only
- 1:41:20Speaker 11: operates at night when they're sleeping, and he goes around
- 1:41:23Speaker 11: and he does little mischievous things around the house. But
- 1:41:26Speaker 11: he also watches you to make sure that you're being
- 1:41:29Speaker 11: good or else. He'll tell Santa Claus. Yeah, it's kind
- 1:41:32Speaker 11: of a tool that it sounds like a horror movie.
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: No, it's great. You can have an elf. Listen, hear
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: this out.
- 1:41:38Speaker 7: You can have an elf around, right, and let's say
- 1:41:40Speaker 7: Rue is acting for whatever reason, you'd be like, hey,
- 1:41:43Speaker 7: you know, elf, whatever you name him, he's watching all
- 1:41:46Speaker 7: the time, like if he's gonna repeat every night, whenever
- 1:41:49Speaker 7: you go to sleep. The magic in the elf is
- 1:41:51Speaker 7: that when they go to sleep, the elf reports back
- 1:41:54Speaker 7: to Santa, told him what he saw for that day,
- 1:41:57Speaker 7: and then that's what that's when you move him around
- 1:41:59Speaker 7: the house and so and like you said, Shirt, you
- 1:42:01Speaker 7: can have him do fun stuff, but it's like it's
- 1:42:03Speaker 7: a tool that like you can't touch him or else
- 1:42:05Speaker 7: the magic goes away.
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: I did see the.
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: Video or this mom like put the chicken bones and
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: you killed him because you touched him.
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: The idea that came up for Kenny of just creative stuff.
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: I would go nuclear with it.
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: I would park the car a little bit in the
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: front yard and just have the elf sitting up there
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: on the steering wheel.
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: Who parked the car like that? Who moved my car? Honey?
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: Look at the healthy park my car like that? That's crazy. Yeah,
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: the indre cars stuck there all day because you can't
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: move him. That's true.
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: If you get good videos, parents at home, police tag
- 1:42:39Speaker 4: us because we would love to be a part of it.
- 1:42:40Speaker 4: Because the best one I've seen is the kids will
- 1:42:42Speaker 4: get drawn on and the elf will be sitting there
- 1:42:44Speaker 4: with a sharpie and the parents are.
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: Like, who why'd you guys draw on your face?
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: And the kids like what and goes to the bathroom
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: and they got glasses and like a mustache, and the
- 1:42:52Speaker 4: elf did it with a marker and the parents, Oh, dude,
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: if you do it at home, please tag us.
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: I'd love to reshare that. That'd be fun. Is the
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: one with the irons scroll? I can't you this speaking
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: of kitchen? So basically, the elf is just the authority. Yes, yeah,
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: it's a tool. Wait why is the elf calling the shots?
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: And not really?
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, I'm not I'm just trying to
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: learn this game. So you just have the elf sitting
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: so random.
- 1:43:16Speaker 4: I'm gonna tell Santa if you mess up. But the
- 1:43:18Speaker 4: kid can't touch it because then it breaks the whole
- 1:43:20Speaker 4: allure of the elf being a real thing in your house.
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: But parents do it in a way where it's like
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: there was one we got tagged in. It was like
- 1:43:26Speaker 4: a bathtub and there was dirt in it and they
- 1:43:28Speaker 4: did an elf and a shove monster jam and it
- 1:43:31Speaker 4: was all these monster trucks and it was like, oh, look,
- 1:43:33Speaker 4: the elf when you were asleep had a monster truck jam.
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: And it's just cute and fun. But it's for the
- 1:43:37Speaker 4: kids to believe that Santa's watching them all the time
- 1:43:40Speaker 4: so they'd be good. So some sick of parent was like,
- 1:43:42Speaker 4: I don't want my kid fucking around anymore.
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: Elf.
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: I saw a seaman team sixer with a got a
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: kitchen aid and they put a Barbie doll on the
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: kitchen aid and turned it on slow so it was spinning,
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: and Elf on the shelf was sitting there with some
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: dollar bills in his hands. I was like, what are
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: we doing out on the shelf. It's gone full of il.
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: He's gone full of ill. But it's crazy when people.
- 1:44:12Speaker 7: Do so.
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: I could have the elf just sitting on rouge dresser.
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: It wakes up in the morning and I could have
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: the elf just sitting there with a knife.
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: Yea.
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: It wakes up and sees herself and now I'm just
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: next to ru and I'm like, he saw you didn't
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: eat your dinner last night.
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: I don't think it's a little extreme. That's hard core.
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: That's a horror movie. You don't have to do it
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: like that. But wait, you could, but you god.
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: She just wakes up and goes to the bathroom brush
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: her teeth. He's sitting there with winer fluid in one. Honey,
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: Oh my god, I.
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: Get a helf on a shelf. You put a little
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: fifty one jersey on it. That's that's Willy one elf
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: right there. Oh honey, he must have seen you asked
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: me to hey, come look at this a bunch of times.
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: He must not like that. He might he must want
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: me to be able to watch the b dinny dock.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: I think he wants me to watch the dock.
- 1:45:23Speaker 2: Honey.
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: Oh, I'm thinking about the Willy one elf. Now, it
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: could be good, just always standing over the elf.
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: Take you helf on a shelf. It's just willy one
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: elf standing over it, Willy wan elf on a shelf. Hey,
- 1:45:38Speaker 2: next year could go crazy with willy one elf on
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: a shelf.
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: That could go crazy. I would buy one. Wedding pop
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: Quizzes is our second call.
- 1:45:53Speaker 6: Sure, will Brook's here from Mississippi. Carle in Dallas See
- 1:46:00Speaker 6: in team sixer right here, and I love it. Getting
- 1:46:04Speaker 6: married in May. Pumped for that. The fiance told me
- 1:46:11Speaker 6: expectations didn't have She wanted to do the planning. I
- 1:46:15Speaker 6: don't have to worry about it. I get some stuff
- 1:46:18Speaker 6: here and there. You know what colored flowers do you
- 1:46:20Speaker 6: like do you like this linen tablecloth? Opinions are all wrong? Yeah,
- 1:46:26Speaker 6: just shake it off, keep going. But you know, getting
- 1:46:31Speaker 6: close to the time, getting around family and friends, everyone's
- 1:46:36Speaker 6: asking how the planning is here. I am just standing there,
- 1:46:39Speaker 6: you know, just noding talking here. It comes out of
- 1:46:44Speaker 6: left field. Quizzes hop pop quizz is talking about where
- 1:46:50Speaker 6: is it at? What's our band name? What's all this
- 1:46:54Speaker 6: this and that? Hey, I know it's in Mississippi. I
- 1:46:58Speaker 6: know it's in May, May sixteenth, Yes, sir, that's pretty
- 1:47:01Speaker 6: much it. Everyone laughing. I'm the I'm the butt of
- 1:47:05Speaker 6: the joke.

- 1:47:15Speaker 2: Goes crazy, man, Sir Brooks, shake my head.
- 1:47:18Speaker 6: They're laughing at me. This is a different type.
- 1:47:21Speaker 8: But good.
- 1:47:22Speaker 6: This is what's going to be like from now on.
- 1:47:25Speaker 6: But the joke. But hey, we're gonna keep going. Love y'all, boys,
- 1:47:31Speaker 6: keep moving seeing a team six.
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: Out Brooks to quote last week, welcome to the fucking show.
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: Brother Brooks is on his way to becoming a Bill Compton.
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: The dad that you just you laugh at, you laugh
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: with we'll get Brooks over there. Look at him.
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: He don't know what he don't know how to unlock
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: this door.
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: But I'll tell you where Brooks will be on May sixteenth.
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: He'll be in his being one suit, standing right where
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: he needs to stand in order to say I do.
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: And do the ring.
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: He'll he knows all the main things that he needs
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: to hit everything else.
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: You know, people are hitt him with you write your
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: own vowels, and he's like, what are you talking about?
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: We gotta ride our own I thought you just didn't
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: sickness and in health Like, yeah, those are vowels you
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: can say, but are you guys?
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: Do you not? When are you doing the wedding dress reveal? Wait?
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: What are you like when she walks out for the ceremony?
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: You talking about that?
- 1:48:35Speaker 2: Dudes? Do the diaper party?
- 1:48:38Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: Yeah, like a batchelor party?
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: No, no, no, diaper like don't don't guys do? Yeah,
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: like a diaper party? Oh for when you're having a baby. Yeah,
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: oh yeah, that's when you're having this.
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, gonna we go. Yeah, you're talking about the
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: wedding shower.
- 1:48:55Speaker 6: I believe.
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: We have any Make.
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: Sure y'all bring the the newboyn diapers too. When you
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: come to the diaper party, it's right after the bachelor party.
- 1:49:09Speaker 2: They got sizes on these diapers.
- 1:49:17Speaker 3: We're gonna be a shady Oaks country clud t times
- 1:49:20Speaker 3: at this time, y'all be there for the bachelor party.
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: I don't know what the bachelor party gifts are. Apparently
- 1:49:25Speaker 3: I gotta get my bachelor some gifts. But I thought
- 1:49:28Speaker 3: my company was enough.
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, groom the groomsman gifts. Oh yeah, Shakia battle Shaki. Yeah,
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: get some good groomsman gifts.
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: Brooks.
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: I did, uh some cool buffalo hide leather wallets with
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: like guys, real nice and easy price tag wise, it
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: leans more to the expensive, but it wasn't like terrible.
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: I got the boys this uh like whiskey smoker. Oh
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: that's nice for like old fashions.
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's sick. I think Nick is probably the only
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: one who used it. Nick would hit me ou it.
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: I just smoked this bourbon bro Nick.
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: I really want to meet Nick in person. We can
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: talk about that man off the pod, but I really
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: want to hang out with Nick. God, that's no surprise
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: to me, no surprise.
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, he's the man. He's a purist you get
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: him a gift. He was like diving into all things whiskey. Yea,
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: all things whiskey. I'm trying to think what else, dude. Yeah,
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: there's gonna be so many little things. Hey, if you
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: want to sound smart, dude, just find out like the
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: little things about your uh, your wedding. I would even
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: kind of push for like one big thing of like
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: it's gonna be the guy's thing for us. Jill's mom
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: was like, hey, what if we had a cigar cutter
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: there that was like rolling cigars, Yeah, and cigars.
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: I said, absolutely, we should do that.
- 1:50:49Speaker 3: So then I like leaned really heavy into that, and
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: I would talk about that when people would bring up
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: the wedding, so I didn't have to answer a lot
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: of questions because I'd be like, Hey, we're gonna have
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: a cigar a cigar cutter there.
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: It's gonna be kind of nice.
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: And then nobody's really worried about anything else because you
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: just told them the most exciting part of your wedding.
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you won't be involved in a whole lot no,
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: and which is okay.
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: All I cared about is we got a couple of
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: apps that I wanted. I wanted.
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: I don't even know if we got toasted ravioly, but
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: I was like, I want either toasted Raveolar or Rocky
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: Mountain oysters.
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: Get rid a rocky voice. That's right.
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: The bull testicles, Yeah, man, they're tasty. Yes, very very
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: we got We got emails here again. If you are
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: international and can, I don't, or you'd rather just write
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: in instead of leave a voicemail six on one of
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: the dad's at gmail dot com and here we go.
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: We got one here from Luke Jones. Shout out Luke
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: and men. After four months of BUDS training, I am
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: now standing by for orders to PET six in June.
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: Good Wifey has been in the trenches with morning sickness.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: Not so good but also good.
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: We've tried all traditional approaches, nausea bands, cold raps, brought diet,
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: preggie props, preggie pops. Doesn't help that the military has
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: us living twenty six hours from home, so family support
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: is tough. I fly for a living, so the wife
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: is home alone a lot. She's gonna be one tough
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: Empty six member. We're looking for any intel on things
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: that helped your spouses or things from fellow PT six members.
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: We don't care how weird they are, we will try it.
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: Much love to the boys in the studio. Started listening
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: to the show a couple months ago, and your boy
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: is caught up ps Oli pop. Chris Bapple is the
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: fucking shit Sorry for cussing, and the dark Wolf before terminalists.
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: Recommendation is elite, very respectfully. Luke from North Carolina, Florida, LA,
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: now North Dakota.
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: Luke hopping around, hopping around the morning sickness. I don't
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: have I don't have anything.
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: I feel like Charle got it for a little bit,
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: but not not too badly. And I could listen, I
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: could be messing that whole thing up. She could be
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: sitting there right now like bullshit, dude, I was You
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: just weren't any help.
- 1:53:07Speaker 2: Pregnancy pops are real thing.
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: Jill didn't have it too terribly, but she did have
- 1:53:13Speaker 3: some morning sickness. Pregnancy pops are great. But the thing
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: that really helped her. They sell them at Walmart, Target,
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: any any grocery store. It's like these little candies and
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: you can find them in the like pharmacy aisle. But
- 1:53:25Speaker 3: it's like these little pregnancy morning sickness candies that are
- 1:53:29Speaker 3: almost like a Jolly Rancher and those really helped. Jill
- 1:53:34Speaker 3: should throw two of those in at a time, and
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: they taste like candy. Those were the trick, Luke, and
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: that's just for Jill. I don't know if that's gonna
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: solve your empty sixers issues, but hang in there and
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: your empty sixers sounds like an absolute.
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: Yeah, we need we need Beat six to sound off
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: in the comments to help our boy.
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: Yeah, pepper boy, Luke, that would be huge. I have
- 1:53:56Speaker 3: a comment before the emails that I forgot to read
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: this one up for empty six or boys. I cannot
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: tell you how much I love this podcast. My husband
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: Trevor put me on while I was pregnant with our
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: first child back over the summer, and I was hooked.
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: I love y'all's dynamic and banter. We now have a
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: three and a half month old little boy named Cooper.
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: Coop Cooper shout out Coop, and listening to the pod
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: is a part of my daily routine. I stamp late
- 1:54:22Speaker 3: to pump and listen for thirty minutes at night while
- 1:54:25Speaker 3: I make bottles, clean the kitchen, and mentally prepare for
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: the next day. Keep doing what you're doing.
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: Much love for milk Team six. Thanks you go. That
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: came from Sarah Klegan. Shout out, Sarah, Dude, Empty six

- 1:54:40Speaker 2: really are.
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: It's it's awesome to see. I meant to read that
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: one earlier because that was a really cool one.
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I got another one hear from an Empty six
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: er Katie witt Will and surem. I just want to
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: send a quick message for hubby and I maybe we
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: get a shout out on the pod. My husband is
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: currently Seemen Team six and Rounds are literally getting shot
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: this Podcus is both hyped for the next chapter hopefully soon.
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: We've already been using embraced the suck and good in
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: our house and we are fully bought in with team.
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: Just wanted to give you both a huge shout out.
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: You guys truly rock and your podcast means more than
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: you know. Thank you for everything you put out there.
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: Keep doing what you're doing, Andrew and Katie Andrew Katie
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: shout out especially Katie right now from an MPT sixer
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: from the Empty six squad.

- 1:55:33Speaker 2: Yeah, look, keep on shooting, bro. You are as the man.
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: You get drained, you know what I mean.
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: Make sure you're eating a lot of stuff and make
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: sure you stay hydrated. Man, make sure you drink a
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: lot of water, eat a lot of chicken and steak.
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: And when the women are on, they're'll wake me up
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: and about let you know they honey is time.
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: Yeah, get your six flag, get your flash bat. We
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: go rah go ra des shock wave two loops on it,
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: two loops.
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: This one comes from Aaron swandle Hey Boys new listener
- 1:56:10Speaker 3: as of last month, but party pt six for four
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: and a half years. We've got a four and a
- 1:56:14Speaker 3: half year old girl and almost two year old boy.
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: Just wanted to share a little reminder that we're all
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: out here embracing the suck together. Today was dot dot
- 1:56:23Speaker 3: dot A lot started with the morning meeting before daycare
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: drop off whatever, normal chaos, but the real storm came later.
- 1:56:31Speaker 3: My wife and I only have one car, so I
- 1:56:34Speaker 3: pick her up from work, then we get the kids
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: from daycare like usual. Side note, we also have an
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: eight year old dog, and because we apparently hate peace,
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: we added a three month old puppy two weeks ago.
- 1:56:46Speaker 2: Aaron. We get home at four pm.
- 1:56:49Speaker 3: My wife has to leave at four fifteen to get
- 1:56:51Speaker 3: our daughter to dance. We let the dogs out in
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: they're buzzing. I'm unloading the kids lunchboxes and one is
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: completely destroyed.
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:56:59Speaker 3: I'm trying to order a new one on my phone
- 1:57:01Speaker 3: while my wife is changing our son's massive diaper situation.
- 1:57:05Speaker 3: This guy's in the trenchets. My daughter's dancing around me, singing,
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: clinging to my arm while I'm trying to buy this lunchbox.
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: My wife comes out hands me the dirty diaper. I
- 1:57:16Speaker 3: toss it in the trash and immediately notice it kind
- 1:57:19Speaker 3: of splattered.
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 1:57:22Speaker 3: I look up and the puppy is licking something off
- 1:57:24Speaker 3: the hardwood. It is, in fact the shit. Then I
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: see it on the rug.
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: Good. Then I look at the puppy again, also shit
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: all over. Good.
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: I run her up stairs for a fast bath before
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: my wife has to leave. From downstairs, I hear the
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: other dog has shit on them too. Honey, good, send
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: them up. I bathe them. Both dogs, look down and
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: realize I have shit on my pants.
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: Good. It's now four point fifteen.
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: I come downstairs with the dogs and my wife is
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: washing our daughter's hair in the kitchen sink, because yes,
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: she also had shit in her hair.
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: Good. Only thing that got.
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: Me through was your show, especially Shirm's story about the
- 1:58:03Speaker 3: dog locked in the nursery. I felt so seen anyway,
- 1:58:07Speaker 3: appreciate what you guys do. You seriously make me feel
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: less alone in this dad journey.
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: Much love.
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: I love the storytelling too. Nothing gets me going great
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: these people send it in. Their stories are good.
- 1:58:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I got one more. I'll go speed to her
- 1:58:22Speaker 3: on it uh via email, KiB says what's up? Will
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: and Shurm and the boys Pt. Six are here to
- 1:58:30Speaker 3: an awesome nine year old steps On and a two
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: year old boy who I can only assume has CTE
- 1:58:35Speaker 3: from his wild stunts. Just wanted to say what you
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: guys have done. Creating this community of support honestly and
- 1:58:41Speaker 3: showing the fun and less than ideal moments of fatherhood
- 1:58:44Speaker 3: has helped me more than.
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: You can ever imagine.
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: Every week I look forward to listening in and getting
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: a break from reality with a laugh and some dad advice.
- 1:58:53Speaker 3: Me and my amazing wife decided it was time to
- 1:58:56Speaker 3: head back to buds and have one last kid. We
- 1:58:59Speaker 3: found out out in mid November that she was pregnant,
- 1:59:02Speaker 3: and last week have the first ultrasound. Let's boys, I
- 1:59:06Speaker 3: feel like I have been dropped into a war zone.
- 1:59:09Speaker 3: As the radiology tech gave us the news that my
- 1:59:12Speaker 3: wife is pregnant with twins. The only reaction I could
- 1:59:16Speaker 3: get out was just laughter. That turned into thousand yard
- 1:59:20Speaker 3: stare as I realized we are not prepared for twins
- 1:59:23Speaker 3: at all. Now I need a little advice in parentheses,
- 1:59:27Speaker 3: probably a lot of advice, but we'll stick with just one.
- 1:59:30Speaker 3: I think I'm most worried about me and my wife.
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: You being caught up in everyday chaos that comes with
- 1:59:37Speaker 3: four kids and three of them being under the age
- 1:59:39Speaker 3: of three. How do you guys manage to make time
- 1:59:42Speaker 3: for each other and prioritize date nights or just one
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: on one time in the chaos? Any tips or things
- 1:59:48Speaker 3: you guys do to keep the flame alive while in
- 1:59:51Speaker 3: the trenches of newborn and toddler phases. Much love for
- 1:59:54Speaker 3: what you guys have created in the community that you've grown.
- 1:59:57Speaker 3: Gonna keep this one anonymous as we he won't be
- 2:00:01Speaker 3: announcing until sometime January, so let's just make a note
- 2:00:06Speaker 3: that blank that last email wants to remain anonymous. Yeah, oh,
- 2:00:13Speaker 3: twins twins, I said while I was reading the email too.
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: If I got the.
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: News of twins, fear would just take over my body.
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: I don't see how parents twins do it. Like Roan
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: from Barstow.
- 2:00:27Speaker 3: I was about to say, you know, who is somebody
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: that I really want to have a conversation with and
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: talk with is Round Dude.
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: We should get Roan on that acause Anytime Great was
- 2:00:39Speaker 1: their first shot out. It was twins. All he knows
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: is twins. So that's basically what he says, is like,
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: I don't know what I don't know, Like my first
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: experience is twins, so I don't know any other life.
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: Like yeah, it seems difficult and hard, but.
- 2:00:49Speaker 1: I'm just thinking, dude, no one like again, you have
- 2:00:52Speaker 1: Scotty five months like imagine twins.
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: Bro.
- 2:00:55Speaker 3: It was great look into what Ron is going through
- 2:00:59Speaker 3: with twins.
- 2:01:00Speaker 2: At the Super Bowl.
- 2:01:01Speaker 3: We have the pleasure of having dinner with him in
- 2:01:04Speaker 3: New Orleans and that was super Yeah. And while we're
- 2:01:09Speaker 3: sitting there, I happen to be sitting next to him
- 2:01:11Speaker 3: during the meal and Will says, hey, both of you
- 2:01:14Speaker 3: all are having kids.
- 2:01:14Speaker 2: Blah, blah.
- 2:01:15Speaker 3: Well that just hits it off. We start talking about
- 2:01:18Speaker 3: all the shit we're going through and we're laughing. We're
- 2:01:21Speaker 3: talking about, oh, why I'm doing this, I'm dealing with
- 2:01:23Speaker 3: this blah blah blah, and at the end of it
- 2:01:25Speaker 3: with perfect comedic time, comedic time, and he just goes Srman,
- 2:01:28Speaker 3: think about everything that you just said though, and multiply
- 2:01:31Speaker 3: that by two.
- 2:01:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, oh shit.
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: I could not imagine dude, the double well, not like
- 2:01:38Speaker 1: the double bedtimes, but like say you get one down
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: and the others still awake, you know what I mean,
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: Like you finally get one down and you're.
- 2:01:44Speaker 2: Just like, you're gonna wake up your brother, You're gonna
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: wake up your sister.
- 2:01:47Speaker 3: Yes, I was thinking about those solo saturdays I do.
- 2:01:51Speaker 2: Jill and I were laughing.
- 2:01:52Speaker 3: I was like, could you even imagine me with twins
- 2:01:54Speaker 3: on one of those solo saturdays, Like one you.
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: Know, no one's sleeping, well, the other one's not. But
- 2:02:02Speaker 1: the other one that's not is always waking up the
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: one who you are assuming is sleeping well. Yes, Oh man,
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: God bless you bro, God good luck out there.
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: Luck out.
- 2:02:13Speaker 3: I don't have any advice for Jacob other than recruit
- 2:02:16Speaker 3: an army.
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: Dude, recruit an army, get the get the in laws. Yeah,
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: he takes a village the twins. When I get three hunder.
- 2:02:26Speaker 3: Three, dude, he's a sick Oh, he's gone through it.
- 2:02:30Speaker 3: He knows what he's doing. But twins is gonna take
- 2:02:32Speaker 3: an army. Yeah, you got call in. I'm calling the
- 2:02:35Speaker 3: goon berets by God, like, I'll take any Hell, if
- 2:02:38Speaker 3: you can hold a baby, you're a part of the army,
- 2:02:41Speaker 3: come join.
- 2:02:42Speaker 2: This is one where you're having them conversations with God.
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 2:02:46Speaker 1: Because he's got the steps on, he's got the one
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: that's how old two or three two?
- 2:02:51Speaker 2: It's two years old.
- 2:02:52Speaker 1: So he understands the suck of like raising, like embracing
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: the suck of raising that first. Yeah, getting through sleep training,
- 2:02:59Speaker 1: whatever it is, getting them to sleep through the night,
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: the tantrums. He's in the thick of it right now
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: with two year olds and their tantrums.
- 2:03:05Speaker 3: That nine year old step son is about to become
- 2:03:08Speaker 3: his best friend.
- 2:03:09Speaker 1: Yeah, he knows the world of one of raising one.
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: Now he's sitting there thinking, how in the fuck am
- 2:03:16Speaker 1: I going to do it with two.
- 2:03:17Speaker 3: Nine year old step son is a part of the army. Now, yeah,
- 2:03:20Speaker 3: you just looking welcome to the ranks.
- 2:03:22Speaker 2: Brother, Why did you have to do this to me? Hey,
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: you're pretty funny. I'll give you that here, you're a
- 2:03:29Speaker 2: funny dude. But yeah, that he was.
- 2:03:33Speaker 1: Asking though, prioritizing the relationship, prioritizing wife, which we do
- 2:03:37Speaker 1: talk about that often. Erry, It's it's truly just it's
- 2:03:40Speaker 1: just intentional prioritizing with the wife. Because your relationship with
- 2:03:44Speaker 1: your wife, as far as that fun flare all of
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: that stuff where it's it's you two against the world.
- 2:03:49Speaker 1: That is like that priority basically falls down to the
- 2:03:52Speaker 1: bottom because you're both in You're both in your brain
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: sacrificing everything for everything else to function. You to be work,
- 2:03:59Speaker 1: whether the kids, whether it be I'm worn out on this,
- 2:04:02Speaker 1: like you're all prioritizing each other while you're trying to
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: handle your own business. That we always forget to prioritize
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: the relationship, the marriage.
- 2:04:12Speaker 3: And speaking on this is the perfect episode because you
- 2:04:14Speaker 3: had brought up traditions. I really really like I have
- 2:04:20Speaker 3: to set a tradition of a date night with Jill,
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: and I really want to make that happen whereas in
- 2:04:27Speaker 3: the books, this is date night.
- 2:04:29Speaker 2: We we have date night.
- 2:04:31Speaker 3: You if you don't do it and don't set it
- 2:04:34Speaker 3: on a schedule and make it a priority. As Willie
- 2:04:36Speaker 3: one chef says, it ain't gonna happen.
- 2:04:38Speaker 2: It ain't gonna happen.
- 2:04:39Speaker 3: And by god, we have to do it. And I
- 2:04:43Speaker 3: think that's probably the move for anybody, including myself.
- 2:04:46Speaker 2: You have to you have to do hearing you.
- 2:04:49Speaker 1: Talk and it's like my boy who is earlier in
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: the episode, is it ah, what was his name?
- 2:04:55Speaker 2: I'm blinkoln on his name. He's not doing well. Yeah, yes,
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: Like you just have to.
- 2:05:02Speaker 1: Take yourself by the throat, put yourself against the wall
- 2:05:05Speaker 1: and talking to you sherm and you just say yes, wake.
- 2:05:08Speaker 2: The fuck up and do it.
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: It's like Tony Robbinson this quote that I would, uh,
- 2:05:11Speaker 1: will I will always think about where it's like you
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: got to turn your shoulds in the must like you
- 2:05:15Speaker 1: just you gotta stop saying we need.
- 2:05:17Speaker 2: To do this, we should do this, blah blah blah.
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: Just you've got to do it. You've got to prioritize
- 2:05:22Speaker 1: and be intentional or it'll never happen. And it takes
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: both of you to prioritize it because calendars, schedules, kids, work, everything,
- 2:05:30Speaker 1: life goes fast and next thing, you know, like I'm
- 2:05:32Speaker 1: sitting here at the end of the year right now.
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: Like, man, I do shit for my New Year's resolutions.
- 2:05:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't wait to reset the clock and say
- 2:05:39Speaker 1: all the things I'm going to do next year. And
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: now I'm in my head thinking I'll be letting myself
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: down again next year. And it's like that conversation right
- 2:05:47Speaker 1: there is where I got to proverbiably perverbably proverbially right
- 2:05:53Speaker 1: there is, right, just got to grab myself by the throat,
- 2:05:56Speaker 1: bro it just will stop fucking talking to yourself, like
- 2:06:00Speaker 1: the stop already planning for the failure that you're just
- 2:06:03Speaker 1: basically putting a quarter in the machine and you're gonna
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: do it again. No, it's got to end. You gotta
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: be sick and tired of being sick and tired about it. Yeah,
- 2:06:11Speaker 1: but yeah, that's I digress.
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: I'm you got a lesson.
- 2:06:16Speaker 1: I'll be honest with you. It's ten thirty six right now,
- 2:06:19Speaker 1: I'm starting to get sleepy. I'm starting to get sleepy.
- 2:06:21Speaker 1: We got a big Monday tomorrow, same we gotta get ripping.
- 2:06:26Speaker 1: I actually have a This is one from an Instagram
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: that I follow called the Stoics. So this isn't parentid
- 2:06:31Speaker 1: this is this is just to me, something I have
- 2:06:33Speaker 1: bookmark that I feel like plays into a few of
- 2:06:36Speaker 1: the themes we've been talking about tonight. Okay, so the
- 2:06:40Speaker 1: Stoics on Instagram, you create the majority of your misery.
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: Your opinion takes harmless moments and poisons them with fear, insulting, catastrophe.
- 2:06:50Speaker 1: Nothing out there is destroying you. Your own opinion is.
- 2:06:53Speaker 1: You become the enemy inside your own mind, and you
- 2:06:55Speaker 1: feel every blow you delivered to yourself. So just a
- 2:06:58Speaker 1: simple quote from the Stoics with two c's if you
- 2:07:01Speaker 1: want to follow that on Instagram.
- 2:07:03Speaker 3: Strong internal dialogue, give a strong internal dialogue.
- 2:07:08Speaker 2: It's all internal dialogue.
- 2:07:10Speaker 3: Sure, it's all internal dialogue. This one is based around
- 2:07:16Speaker 3: the four hundred meter dash.
- 2:07:19Speaker 2: I ran the four hundred meter dash in high school.
- 2:07:22Speaker 3: I have a lot of love for track, and I
- 2:07:25Speaker 3: thought it'd be fun to compare the strategy of a
- 2:07:28Speaker 3: four hundred meter dash with fatherhood.
- 2:07:31Speaker 2: Okay, with parenting. I'll keep it quick. Some game, give
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: us some game.
- 2:07:36Speaker 3: The so recently passed away legendary coach Clyde Hart.
- 2:07:41Speaker 2: He coached at Baylor.
- 2:07:43Speaker 3: He coached Michael Johnson, Jeremy Warner, Lashawn Merritt, and most
- 2:07:49Speaker 3: decorated track athlete in US history, Alison Felix. Those are
- 2:07:53Speaker 3: basically the four biggest names in the four hundred meter.
- 2:07:58Speaker 3: No guy knows what he's talking about, Coach Hart said,
- 2:08:03Speaker 3: the four hundred isn't about how fast you can run,
- 2:08:07Speaker 3: It's about how slow you can slow down.
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: We'll break it down for you.
- 2:08:13Speaker 3: The strategy of a four hundred meter is from the
- 2:08:16Speaker 3: zero to the fifty meter mark. You want to have
- 2:08:18Speaker 3: a fast, powerful start, but not go all out sprint
- 2:08:22Speaker 3: to start. How does that work with fatherhood? That's waking
- 2:08:26Speaker 3: up on purpose, not in the panic, getting the kids
- 2:08:30Speaker 3: moving while staying calm, cool and collected, being present, eye contact, jokes,
- 2:08:35Speaker 3: hugs at the door. You are setting the tone for
- 2:08:38Speaker 3: the day, not trying to win the entire day in
- 2:08:41Speaker 3: that moment, but setting the tone for it. Fifty meters
- 2:08:45Speaker 3: to two hundred meter mark, this is the most important
- 2:08:47Speaker 3: phase of the race. This is where you have to
- 2:08:49Speaker 3: run hard and stay loose. Upright, posture, smooth arms, controlled breathing.
- 2:08:54Speaker 3: You should feel fast without forcing it. For fatherhood, that's
- 2:08:59Speaker 3: low walking in at work, being productive, reliable, focused, no
- 2:09:04Speaker 3: unnecessary stress carried from home, having that strong internal dialogue,
- 2:09:09Speaker 3: staying poised in the moment. You're running hard, but you're
- 2:09:12Speaker 3: in control. Two hundred to three hundred meters, that's when
- 2:09:16Speaker 3: you attack the curve and I fucking love did you
- 2:09:19Speaker 3: run track?
- 2:09:20Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:09:20Speaker 1: High school, in middle school, I did my here but
- 2:09:24Speaker 1: not ah not a.
- 2:09:27Speaker 2: Lover of track like yourself.
- 2:09:29Speaker 1: Yes, my favorite part of the four hundred meter race
- 2:09:33Speaker 1: is attacking the curve.
- 2:09:34Speaker 2: Let's attack the fuck.
- 2:09:35Speaker 3: It's the two hundred and three hundred mark where you
- 2:09:37Speaker 3: are starting to feel tired. Yeah, it's starting to hit,
- 2:09:41Speaker 3: but you have this curve in this natural inertia that
- 2:09:43Speaker 3: you can lean into and use that pain with the
- 2:09:47Speaker 3: momentum that you already have going into the turn. The
- 2:09:51Speaker 3: race starts to bite at this moment. Focus on maintaining
- 2:09:55Speaker 3: mechanics and not speeding up. How does that apply to fatherhood?
- 2:09:58Speaker 3: Mental shift? You're years before you pick up the kids
- 2:10:02Speaker 3: or before you get home. Take that extra breath in
- 2:10:05Speaker 3: the car, get in the right mindset. If you are
- 2:10:07Speaker 3: not currently in the right mindset, check yourself a little bit,
- 2:10:11Speaker 3: put the phone away. Remember your kids don't need exhausted you.
- 2:10:16Speaker 3: They need present you. They need you to show up
- 2:10:19Speaker 3: three hundred to four hundred meters. That's when you finish strong.
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: That's when you make sure you're still kicking, picking up
- 2:10:26Speaker 3: your knees, and have a good evening at home. If
- 2:10:29Speaker 3: we're going to apply it to fatherhood, asking your kids
- 2:10:32Speaker 3: about their day, asking your wife about their day, being
- 2:10:34Speaker 3: patient even.
- 2:10:35Speaker 2: When you're drained.
- 2:10:36Speaker 3: Help lead backtime dishes, bedtime, homework, dinner, any of those routines.
- 2:10:42Speaker 3: No quitting mentally just because you're home. And I applied
- 2:10:46Speaker 3: his quote from earlier. It was the four hundred isn't
- 2:10:50Speaker 3: about how fast you can run, it's about how slow
- 2:10:52Speaker 3: you can slow down. And in dad terms, the best
- 2:10:57Speaker 3: dads aren't the loudest or the flashiest, high octane twenty
- 2:11:01Speaker 3: four to seven.
- 2:11:02Speaker 2: They're the ones who slow down the least when it
- 2:11:04Speaker 2: gets hard. Well done. That was really good. Thank you,
- 2:11:08Speaker 2: great analogy. Thank you.
- 2:11:11Speaker 3: The old proverbial four hundred meter perverbial, as we say
- 2:11:17Speaker 3: in Dodgeball and The Underdog Story, the proverbial pumpkin.
- 2:11:24Speaker 1: Hell yeah, hell yeah, good sord boys great, So make
