- 0:00[Music] welcome to multiple
- 0:03nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and
- 0:07Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All
- 0:13Things nerdy so I've been doing more streaming
- 0:18again today okay but I've been very bad at it why in what sense well it's one of
- 0:23the things like I know how to get popular okay get my tits out being a
- 0:28pool but apart from scho all over again the thing you really need to
- 0:34commit to with the streaming it's just you need to commit to it and and do it
- 0:38it's been like 15 days since the last time if you don't do it you probably
- 0:41won't be known for it much yeah and someone just randomly going on streaming
- 0:47for an hour once every five months oh sure they're not going to make it so
- 0:52I've set myself a goal this week Imagine other media was like vloggers is and
- 0:58streamers are you know like imagine if Ridley scottt like every 5 years he puts
- 1:02out a film people like no sorryy it's been too long not going to watch it well
- 1:08actually if you do look at with Ridley Scott he is doing that with the film but
- 1:12then he also does a lot of stuff in between as well yeah not advertisement
- 1:15not streaming he's not on Twitch as far as I know well he [ __ ] I'd watch the
- 1:21[ __ ] out of it and it just be him abusing the audience like why are you watching this
- 1:27go see my movie played over video games
- 1:31he abused some reporter this week too
- 1:34what did they do oh they um they said said what we're thinking no they
- 1:41said uh oh compared to your other films like kingdom of heaven and and and uh
- 1:46something else this the last duel is more realistic and then apparently you
- 1:51can watch the video of it go just like sir [ __ ] you [ __ ] you get [ __ ] [ __ ]
- 1:57you no really what what I think they were playing you a compliment Ridley
- 2:03they weren saying those movies suck confused about I think he was waiting
- 2:06for the yeah I think he was waiting for the followup of why is this one failing
- 2:10or is that maybe I don't or maybe he I think something he's he's old he's going
- 2:16there well this is also I mean people are talking about Ridley this week
- 2:19because um you know June is doing so well and it's it's definitely going to
- 2:25be up for some 2022 Oscars and um you everyone it was unfilmable until now and
- 2:32Ridley came out and said it wasn't unfilmable I could have filmed it in
- 2:35fact I was going to I was off at it in 1984 I turned it down because I didn't
- 2:39want to go to Mexico to film it you probably could have gone can we
- 2:45go here to film it instead like you yeah Death Valley California he got against
- 2:50Mexico well I mean I don't know you'd have to ask him he said he went there he
- 2:54didn't like it okay but a lot of people go to lots of places they don't like for
- 2:59work here we go Luke lives in CRA exactly Dino delor
- 3:04said it's expensive we're going to have to make it in Mexico and then Ridley
- 3:07Scott said what Mexico so he sent me to Mexico City and with the greatest
- 3:11respect to Mexico City in those days it was pretty pongy I didn't love it the
- 3:17greatest respect they probably wouldn't have shot it in the city would they no I
- 3:22mean had he read June there's not a lot that just happens in like an urban
- 3:26Metropolis I went to a studio in Mexico City and the FL with dirt floors in the
- 3:31studio and I said
- 3:33nah again have you read you
- 3:38yes you'd have to bring in dirt funny yeah I don't think he could have made it
- 3:43I really don't I'm glad he didn't to be honest although I'm sure he would have
- 3:46done something interesting with it maybe K's career well he said that he went on
- 3:51to do Legends so this was very early as well that Legends is very early yeah so
- 3:55that must have been before Tom Cruz one wasn't it I think yes and the big red dude
- 4:00Tim Curry Yeah Tim Curry yeah yeah I think he literally uh turned
- 4:06it down and then they got David Lynch I that's what he's saying yeah picking at
- 4:12his scraps like it's the it's the same I still don't think that's sort of a good
- 4:16argument like I could have made it but I I didn't would have been better if I had
- 4:20have done it though I think I think he thinks that about quite a lot of movies
- 4:25to be honest I well unfortunately I think he thinks he can do no wrong and
- 4:31and well we know that cuz if something doesn't do well it's not his fault no no
- 4:35it's Facebook it's the audience's fault so I did some research this week no I
- 4:39would have done this anyway but uh I went and watched the last jeel um Goodwill Hunting
- 4:452 should I watch it should
- 4:51you probably not not for me not for you I would say
- 4:57mhm just just in that you only watch movies for
- 5:01enjoyment yes you know well why else would you watch a movie yeah I mean it's
- 5:06a valid point but you know you can I think there different types you can
- 5:09enjoy the concept of a movie yeah without it being an enjoyable movie and
- 5:14this is certainly not an enjoyable movie but it was good it was good as as all
- 5:19kind of second tier Ridley Scott movies are good you know is this a first T
- 5:24Ridley Scott movie no this is according to him it's well yeah I mean and it's also
- 5:30so hugely expensive for the the very
- 5:34small film that it is um and wonder way
- 5:38M went with it to the Stars I assume yeah there's some celebs in this
- 5:44one lot o celebs actually do I know any of them yeah personally you probably
- 5:50mention Ben Affleck and Matt Damon you heard of them Adam Driver kylo Ren they
- 5:56probably oh these people actually eat it they probably all
- 6:00at all yeah probably maybe not Adam Driver he didn't get famous till later
- 6:06um didn't know he was at the time yeah affle and Damon wrote it for each other
- 6:11for themselves to star in and then Affleck went and did something else so
- 6:14he took a minor role and they got Adam Driver to play his
- 6:17part oh it's interesting though
- 6:21um do so Matt you said the the plot last
- 6:26week on the show and you were correct um do you know do you know anything beyond
- 6:31that no no I got do you want a slight spoiler or do you want to not know
- 6:38anything uh I mean it's not who wins the jeel it's we all
- 6:44lose it's that the kind of film where I'm like it's not a it's not a Twist or
- 6:50anything like that but I'm just not say the new Matrix movie where I'm going to
- 6:54be annoyed if someone ruins why the [ __ ] there's a new Matrix movie cuz I want to
- 6:58find that out I want to know I don't want to wait until I'm actually
- 7:01paying and in theater to find out that I don't like the fcking of that I want to
- 7:05know in advance okay give us give us the slight spoiler go on you
- 7:11see the same events from multiple points of view oh
- 7:17okay and it plays out differently yes
- 7:22but only slightly differently which I
- 7:26found very funny in a way around the he is it sort of around the he said she
- 7:31said part it is the he said she said right and and the whole look the premise
- 7:38is that Matt Damon's not really defending
- 7:43his wife's honor because he feels she's been wronged he's doing it because he
- 7:48loses face that his wife has been sexually assaulted right okay so cuz he
- 7:53allowed it to happen well just just that you allow I'll allow it
- 8:00no just just the fact that if you don't throw down the gaunlet then you're
- 8:03you're seen to to lose face it's as simple as that but the interesting part
- 8:07about it was that Adam Driver the rapist right even in his story his character
- 8:13his character you're right you're right Adam
- 8:19Driver who plays the part of the rapist right still in his story rapes her a
- 8:25little bit he just rapes her less oh okay but but it's fine back then wasn't
- 8:31it yeah but you expect his to be like oh and she loves me and she wanted it no he
- 8:36still holds her down like it's yeah it's re it's really
- 8:42interesting in in that way but as I was watching I I wish I'd known that it was
- 8:47going to do that actually because I spent a lot of time a little bit
- 8:50confused and a bit annoyed that it was skipping over some interesting details
- 8:54and what I thought was mishandling certain details and then it goes back
- 8:58and starts again again and I'm like oh okay I wish I'd known this or I wouldn't
- 9:03be hating on this movie quite so hard okay but it's good it's good just
- 9:07quality Ridley Scott second tier drama I might uh give it a watch this week if I
- 9:12yeah I would I can yeah all right I won't just in case you wonder I
- 9:19wouldn't I wouldn't I'm thinking about watching um
- 9:23Race by Wolves again because I see yeah season 2's coming out for that and I
- 9:30refresh myself on that I've only seen one episode and I like it well if you
- 9:33guys want some quality science fiction or actually I would say this is more
- 9:38space fantasy than science fiction but I'm six episodes into um foundation and
- 9:43it's excellent yeah God know I need to keep watching it it's another show that
- 9:47I thought oh you're skipping over some details here man and then they go back
- 9:51to things I'm like oh okay here we go you'll like this Luke we'll see Luke you
- 9:56you'll like it it's very we'll see oh it's in between my cam whing and it's
- 10:02got the pie maker in it that's true it does Lee Pace yeah how how often are you
- 10:08streaming or how often are you planning to stream Luke let's see if we can well
- 10:11at the moment I'm I'm trying to do I want to do every Thursday like just to
- 10:15sit down every day and then at least one or two nights during the week as well
- 10:19how how long do you stream for you're going to be on cam all day Thursdays
- 10:24well I do the edit of sa file in the morning uhhuh and then I just going to
- 10:28be yeah whing it up is the plan yeah so
- 10:32only fans until lunchtime and then yep twitch after that
- 10:37mhm the problem is is I still I need to get out of the habit of wanting to watch
- 10:42things while I'm playing games although I've worked out how to do that um who's
- 10:46that big twitch streamer the one that does like the ASMR and the pools it
- 10:52starts with a no idea do you mean
- 10:56amaranth yeah her right like the biggest twitch streamer yeah yeah
- 11:02the the the the big one well she will do like the ASR stuff where she just that's
- 11:06what you mean right the big one and then just do the stuff she's tapping I'm
- 11:10looking her up now microphone um what she does is she
- 11:16watches stuff right so why are you doing that where you don't actually have to be
- 11:20engaging in a story or engaging with your fans cuz all you're doing is
- 11:27going you can just watch show I I I will say this that I I feel
- 11:33like she's got something you don't have no offense that would mean people would
- 11:40probably watch her whatever she was doing she has more time than I do I'm
- 11:45not I'll be honest I'll be honest I'm just looking at it
- 11:50here I don't know even if you're a pervert there's better things to look
- 11:54at I well I think part of this is not so
- 11:58much she's more engaging cuz I know what you mean it's like [ __ ] hell man this
- 12:04is the least sexy thing I've ever seen in my life the reason why I think this
- 12:08sort of stuff does well as as opposed to just straight out porn is you do sort of
- 12:15get to I think people get a feeling that they're getting to know that person and
- 12:20that they're having interaction that makes it worse Rel not better makes it way
- 12:27worse but that's I actually do you think that is it cuz you I agree with you it's
- 12:32you pay enough money and I'll write your name on my arm and that's your
- 12:37interaction with them and I'm never going to um make people pay for me to
- 12:42write their name on my arm I'll do it for free okay next next Thursday I'd
- 12:46like my name on your arm please done excellent do you want your name or do
- 12:52you want your log on oh your username for what for twitch don't have one you
- 12:58know am bought a gas station she bought two gas tax purposes tax purp just write dwarf
- 13:04Watcher L I don't know who you mean cuz she makes I think she spent like $10
- 13:08million she makes just under $1.4
- 13:11million a year on Twitch just no I'm not going to deny this just not even doing
- 13:18anything just being on there no no I wouldn't say not doing anything she
- 13:22would still be working a hell of a lot CU that's one of the things I'm just
- 13:27jealous I have but here's the thing too though like a
- 13:32lot of people have tits and don't make a million dollars a year so she's not
- 13:35working hard she's working smart no no no no she's working smart but also the
- 13:39thing is and the reason why I would never become like a full-time streamer
- 13:42or anything not is more so the fact that you have to constantly do that like if I
- 13:48go sorry guys I'm going on holiday for a couple of weeks so I'll see you later
- 13:52for income gone yeah people stop watching and then you have to start
- 13:55building up that viewer base again you got to be online every day streaming for 8 to
- 14:0112 hours yeah that's quite a lot yeah they do do a lot of work I'm not deny no
- 14:07they're always on too I've I've worked with influencers um on multiple
- 14:12advertising campaigns and stuff and they just never stop just always in the back
- 14:15you're eating lunch and they're [ __ ] vlogging what their lunches your job you
- 14:20your work is actually quite hard you you could still stop it and go get a
- 14:23different job oh yeah yeah yeah like yeah let's not get crazy I don't think
- 14:28yeah let's not feel sorry they feel sorry for you because that's what you chose to
- 14:33do yeah and look to be fair I'm I'm I'm just teasing a bit but like [ __ ]
- 14:39whatever I've said before her and um you know someone like Jessica NRI I got no
- 14:45issues with them using what they got to make some money [ __ ] do it you got it
- 14:50why not yeah I mean you know that's like saying all all this [ __ ] physicists
- 14:56is just using their brains that's all they're using [ __ ] smart people yeah yeah if I was
- 15:02smart I'd be a physicist of course I do think I do think that maybe some of them
- 15:07should maybe get paid a little bit more physicists yeah yeah yeah you can't really
- 15:13Streamys on on Twitch I mean you got a actually maybe I
- 15:19think you'll find
- 15:22Amarth bit of physics M yeah yeah I'm sure people are streaming some particle
- 15:28physics back get hurt constantly doing some buoyancy
- 15:32experiments in that hot tub mhm mhm yeah y but ied's principle I can sort of see
- 15:39where twitch is sort of having this hard time going that's not the content that
- 15:43we really want there yeah millions and
- 15:47mil always say this if we found out if you found out that most people only
- 15:53listen to this podcast to jerk off to right but they were still willing to pay
- 15:57for it would you be like no I don't want you listening no you'd be like what can
- 16:02I do to K you off big boy you get the people who get on there to watch that
- 16:06and then they will very go off and watch other things and on the platform paying
- 16:11money but then you don't want to yeah go down the path of where the only fans but
- 16:16also but only fans didn't start as porn either only fans started off like if you
- 16:21like a band just give them money directly here instead of paying Sony
- 16:27yep the internet turns everything into porn what the that's what the world is
- 16:34about turning everything into porn before we go on to um before we go on to
- 16:40anything else I just want to read out three three headlines from this week
- 16:45from the news that um that just stood out to me we don't and we don't have to
- 16:49go into these I didn't save these articles or anything I I just want to I
- 16:52just want to read three headlines okay okay okay number one US rejects calls
- 16:58for regular in or Banning Killer
- 17:01Robots okay that's one can't we just go
- 17:06like the laws of robotics can we just maybe just get them inforced already
- 17:10saying killer robot so clearly they don't they don't's laws they his his laws don't
- 17:17work that's what all his books were about the books wer the rules weren't
- 17:21the end of the book The Rules always came at the beginning and the books are
- 17:24about how the laws don't work like stop putting forward his laws
- 17:30yeah he wrote them flawed on purpose yeah and actually that cautionary tales
- 17:35yes it's actually sort of in their best interest to have the Killer Robots
- 17:39because it's easier to have wars then that's true you have to L you just
- 17:45build it send them out okay we'll go this headline number two Russia and
- 17:49China attacking us Satellites with lasers every
- 17:54day now are we like what type of we look
- 18:01these are the headlines that popped up in my today inspiring Dan's imagination
- 18:04throughout the day yeah third one and this is my favorite right because this
- 18:10is this is really rank true right Jared Leo's horrendous performance
- 18:15single-handedly ruins Ridley Scott's house of [Laughter]
- 18:20Gucci I heard those I think that movie had a few other issues not just him well
- 18:25the actual Gucci family are saying that it's it's total horeshit and that they
- 18:29um yeah they think it's all lies but evidently the the audience the cinema
- 18:34going audience is saying wouldn't be too bad um but Jared Lio ruins it yeah right
- 18:39that's what he does that's his thing you can't call him
- 18:44on it I also cuz has he even seen it cuz he also does this thing where I'll come
- 18:48in and act in it and I'll give them all this stuff I won't watch it though
- 18:52Johnny Depp does that too though he doesn't watch his movies yeah he's like
- 18:56I don't want to know I don't watch Johnny Depp's movies these days
- 19:01either I think the last Johnny Depp movie I saw was Tusk didn't see that he
- 19:07in that he is in that yeah him and his
- 19:11daughter and then also yoga houses yoga I know what that is goo's it's a Kevin
- 19:17Smith movie yeah he's actually Johnny Depp in that because yeah Kevin Smith
- 19:21and Johnny Depp's daughter daughters are friends sorry Kevin Smith's daughter and
- 19:25Johnny Depp's daughter are friends not Kevin Smith and Johnny Depp's daughter are
- 19:31friends just to be clear they might be yeah I mean might be could be for yeah I
- 19:37just want to be but like yeah so but but
- 19:42like Kevin Smith and Jo de def they're not friends no they don't get a little
- 19:47that's right yeah mhm no actually I don't mind the task I want
- 19:53to watch that again who does seen I know what it is I haven't seen it though it's
- 19:59ridiculous who does he play who does uh he plays I think he's
- 20:05a you can't tell it's him like he's got pathetics and makeup and puts on a very
- 20:10strange accent oh yeah he loves to do that he calls that point having Johnny
- 20:15Depp in your movie if he's going to do that well I don't think they just needed
- 20:20someone to play that character and it wasn't like they build it as hey this is
- 20:23Johny need somebody so they got Johnny de he he said he said to his daughter do
- 20:28any of your friends have a dad that will agree to be in this movie
- 20:36anybody don't want to pay them I'll just grab the first guy off the street that
- 20:39guy there oh [ __ ] it's Johnny Depp oh well
- 20:46yeah Tom Holland is doing more Spider-Man movies after this one of
- 20:52course another three yeah then then he's going to give
- 20:56up acting is that what he said okay that was an article I don't think he said it
- 21:00because of this but I think it acting is not an article that I half read that
- 21:06he's not going to he doesn't want to act forever okay he wants to get into real
- 21:11estate or something after okay what but honestly going in making the millions of
- 21:16dollars and then just going I'm going to go do whatever I feel like but that's
- 21:19the opposite of how people normally do it normally people will get like like
- 21:23say Arnold Swartz gets into real estate and then he doesn't have to work anymore
- 21:26so he's like I'm just going to become an actor and I can because I don't have to
- 21:30worry about making money I may be the worst actor in Hollywood but I'm going
- 21:34to be a star yeah but I'm the one that doesn't need to wait tables so I'll just
- 21:40[ __ ] be patient yeah I quite like it if people just go I'm done I do too
- 21:46especially Tom Holland whom I don't particularly care I like Tom
- 21:52Holland people retire from seems fun Evangeline Lily retired but then she
- 21:57came back I think when she says she retired what she means was I didn't get
- 22:02hired for anything after lost until Ant-Man that's not a retirement yeah I
- 22:08suppose when you're an actor but but yeah I guess I mean she puts it that way
- 22:14and I'm like well why wouldn't they have hired her she's she was fine she's getting
- 22:19lost yeah but I mean there's a lot of actors people like her performances are
- 22:23fine people like looking at yeah they're absolutely fine I uh I think that about
- 22:28actors though that crop up in things years later like um Jason baitman who is
- 22:35famous now again and was famous many years ago but for 20 years wasn't famous
- 22:41what was he doing yeah waiting tables that's what
- 22:45they all do yeah that's right yeah
- 22:48renting one of Tom Holland's house to get the real
- 22:55estate I don't I I could be very do you mean he's going to buy a lot of houses
- 23:00or do you mean he's going to get his estate agent license I think it was an estate agent
- 23:05license I mean you're not wrong we're selling a house at the moment and we we
- 23:09worked out what our agent commission was we have no article or anything this is
- 23:13just Luke's [ __ ] random recollection of something he read the other day
- 23:16there's no evidence half possibly in a dream
- 23:26yeah look I'm looking forward cuz I get to go see the new Tom Holland movie soon
- 23:30and at least I didn't have to fight for my ticket the new Tom Holland movie is
- 23:34that what we that yeah little indie project you guys want to go see a Tom
- 23:39Holland movie you seen that new Tom Holland movie these tickets are going
- 23:44[ __ ] Gang Busters and people are scalping them for huge amounts and
- 23:49apparently bashing each other for them not in Australia I'm pretty sure I could
- 23:53go online and buy a ticket right now this is for the new
- 23:57Spider-Man oh [ __ ] me look at him going
- 24:00for it mhm oh my God that's so
- 24:07bizarre like this movie is that [ __ ] big a deal these people record breaking
- 24:12number of pre-sales I mean I'm kind of interested in it I can go online right
- 24:17now and buy a ticket for an advaned screening this Wednesday yeah well
- 24:21that's because partially Australians are still too cautious of Co to want to go
- 24:26to the movies see me I'll happily go I went I saw
- 24:33James Bond and now I'm I've like a frightened Turtle gone back in my shell
- 24:38I don't need to go to the movies again when is this out uh the
- 24:4416th oh so it's not long no it's not this week next week yeah
- 24:50right so yeah I can get a ticket to an advaned trading for next Wednesday on
- 24:54the 15th and the cinema is emptied go have a look go and see report
- 24:59back convince me that I should want to see it cuz currently I don't it's it's a
- 25:04Marvel movie and they're fun it's not a Marvel movie or is this one a Marvel
- 25:08movie it is Marvel Studios this one still is it is y okay yep it's Sony
- 25:14going oh so you're going to make this do a of marketing and then just pay us
- 25:19money and we get to keep the license okay but like no way home right was no
- 25:24way no way home is that what the the one where they where he just goes on a
- 25:27[ __ ] field trip and be Spider-Man In Another Country what was that one far
- 25:32from home far from home far from home there was homecoming far from home no
- 25:37far from home is this one there was homecoming and the other one yeah this
- 25:41one is no way home no way home so there was far from home and no way home okay
- 25:45that's why we're confused cuz that's dumb I get confused that's really dumb
- 25:50um yes I can buy many tickets for this thing so where are these people fighting
- 25:54meic oh Mexico Mexico all right I guess we've had a lot of Mexico news this week
- 25:59yeah got some New Mexico news too but we'll get to that oh let's let's go into
- 26:04New Mexico news it's yeah so the New Mexico news is all about Alec Baldwin
- 26:11and everyone just going it's not my
- 26:15fault sure it's not my fault I didn't pull the trigger I I pulled back the
- 26:21hammer the hammer and let go of it and that fire pointing DP well no no no he
- 26:27wasn't trying to say I mean I know I know what you're getting at but I mean
- 26:33he' already at that point in the interview made it clear that that he
- 26:36felt like this wasn't his fault because there shouldn't have been a [ __ ]
- 26:40bullet on set I completely agree with that but at this point if you're going
- 26:44that's not something he should have had to worry about was the fact that the gun
- 26:48might actually kill somebody so he wasn't even thinking about it I think
- 26:51what he was trying to say I find that is a good enough argument on its own I'm an
- 26:55actor I'm holding a prop I should be able to point it at someone and pull the trigger
- 27:00and and be completely confident that whoever has handed it to me has not put
- 27:04a real bullet in there but to actually say I didn't touch any of the buttons
- 27:08like it's like of course you did mate of course you did that's not how Gun
- 27:13Works I know but he I mean he was being interviewed and I think he was reacting
- 27:17to because a lot of people have said been using the words you know he pulled
- 27:21the trigger and it's his responsibility he pulled the trigger and I think what
- 27:25he was saying is actually I didn't even pull the trigger I just pulled the ham
- 27:28back and the gun went off so I mean you're right it doesn't matter but I
- 27:32think he was yeah I just to me it just sounds real I
- 27:36didn't puller pull theer he was like no I didn't pull the [ __ ] trigger stop
- 27:41saying that actually I would get annoyed as well but also why are you going on
- 27:46doing interviews yeah I mean this is one of these weird things sort feels weird
- 27:52to me that he's going out doing interviews where it's just uh sorry I've
- 27:55got no comment the police are investigating I'll wait for that inves
- 27:58to complete mhm that's where I would be go we all know this was a tragic
- 28:03accident it's absolutely no one's fault there was no malice but someone will be
- 28:08accountable for because at the end of the day someone has to take
- 28:11responsibility let's let the authorities decide who that person is no no no no
- 28:16every single person is going to come out go wasn't me mate yeah but I mean I
- 28:22assume he wasn't like I should probably just do it I should probably do an
- 28:26interview and then he went hunting for someone interviews he's probably being
- 28:29harassed for interv yeah he would be and and I'm sure he has advisors saying
- 28:33don't speak to this person do speak to this person yeah I find it ironic though
- 28:37that you mean the whole the the American kind of slogan is like guns don't kill
- 28:41people people kill people you know like the guns aren't dangerous on their
- 28:45that's why there's they have a vested interest in making this Alec Baldwin's
- 28:47fault for that reason but he's saying the opposite he's basically saying if
- 28:52you even go near a gun you might kill a dop sure well I think he's saying I mean
- 28:59he he was pretty clear in that interview it's somebody's fault somebody is
- 29:04responsible for this not me obviously not me but somebody is but someone and
- 29:09he go I don't know who it is I don't know but other a lot of other actors
- 29:13have come out and said at no point in in
- 29:18on any day on set on any film would I take a gun off of a person and not check
- 29:24it myself and not and not
- 29:29protoc I don't it at anyone right but see to me there's also a difference
- 29:34between pointing it at someone and pointing it where the camera needs me to
- 29:38be pointing that's true yeah I'm not I'm not aiming at this
- 29:43person Beyond I'm the camera needs me to do this except that there wasn't a
- 29:48camera it was a rehearsal yeah and also I think usually if you pointing it at
- 29:52them they have a per they have a screen in the way they usually shoot through a
- 29:57piece of pect be blocking and stuff and rehearsing you'd have like here's the camera so
- 30:03this is where we're going to be doing it it could have been but it's hard to say
- 30:06we wouldn't know he could they could have just been going okay what will we
- 30:09do and he was like oh maybe I'll go like this you know we just don't know yeah
- 30:14but what he said in the interview was in which case he shouldn't be holding the
- 30:16real gun if it was just a reheal no need for that here I have my finger out
- 30:21that's all I need for this well hang on he said in the interview what happened
- 30:25he said that they were they were blocking the shot and he said okay when
- 30:28we do it I'm going to [ __ ] the gun do you want me to do do you want me to do
- 30:32that and she said yeah let's do it we'll see what it looks like and that's when
- 30:35the gun went off cuz he said he pulled the hammer back and when he put the hammer forward
- 30:41again afterwards it hit what was a real bullet that shouldn't have been in there
- 30:46and it and then it fired is that how a Gun Works no this is a West isn't it
- 30:53yeah so it's it's an old so yeah so so it would have been a six shooter type of
- 30:56thing when pulled it back and so he wouldn't have if he put it back like
- 31:01completely slowly it wouldn't do anything so it had to I that to be
- 31:06honest I don't think you could say that at all I think you would I don't I don't
- 31:10know that no I think it does need to go with some Force to create the spark for
- 31:14sure because the way that you uncock a gun is by flicking the hammer back down
- 31:19like if you [ __ ] it and then don't want to shoot you flick the hammer back down
- 31:22yeah but I mean I don't know that I I'd be confident saying that in listening to
- 31:27to Luke's explanation yeah I shared that video during the week I don't think we know
- 31:34right we definitely don't know I am not confident saying no no no you definitely
- 31:38have to hit it hard like I don't [ __ ] know like maybe you
- 31:43know all I know is that is every video I've watched with other actors they say
- 31:47you don't you don't block like that holding the gun holding the real gun no
- 31:50no yeah I've seen that too and I know there's a video floating around of
- 31:54running around like a kid with you just your finger out like holding my hand
- 31:58like a gun that's all you need if you're just blocking I mean maybe Star Wars
- 32:01when you've got a wooden Blaster you know but but if you've got real guns and
- 32:07obviously they weren't supposed to have live ammo but regardless I can't wait to know what
- 32:12really happened I hope they really do figure it out it's it's it's actually
- 32:16going to I think it's going to be one of these things where you have a tragedy
- 32:20happen happen people get really strict with a lot of controls and then nothing
- 32:24happens for so long that people just start to yeah we're meant to do this but
- 32:29people just start to sort of ease off on those strict
- 32:32controls not to say that by malice or they trying to do something it's just
- 32:36because it's a lot of extra effort to go through to make sure this all happens
- 32:39and nothing's going to happen we all know what we're doing we're all fine
- 32:42let's get let's get moving maybe but if you were an actor you'd be [ __ ]
- 32:46terrified to touch a gun right now yes and that's what I mean like that's
- 32:50exactly what I mean like now yes in another 15 to 20 years after nothing's
- 32:55happened and you oh there's this weird story from this old guy who died 5 years
- 32:59ago that he had something bad happen I'm I'm I'm predicting Al Al's death I was
- 33:04about to say what what old man and then and then the same sort of
- 33:11thing may happen you just sort of hear people get that little bit lack with
- 33:15steps that they need to take cuz nothing's happened yeah I mean
- 33:20I think there arguing that that's not what happened here but I mean you might
- 33:24be right like I also read during the week
- 33:28that perhaps the gun that they rented had a bullet in it from the last time it
- 33:33was rented out and that bullet had been there the whole time but I mean that's
- 33:37for them to have gone through every single check to what would need to
- 33:41happen about only loading it as you're handing it over that's what I mean like
- 33:47clearly the bullet was put in there by someone and if like no one's talking
- 33:52about the crew taking it out to shoot during lunchtime anymore I haven't heard
- 33:55that story in a couple of weeks do you know what I mean like everyone interview
- 33:58he said he doesn't he didn't he doesn't know anything about any of that no one
- 34:00told him anything about that and when the crew quit cuz the crew did quit he
- 34:04said this Al bald they quit before this didn't they yeah Alec Baldwin says cuz
- 34:10he was a producer he said yeah they did approach me and they did resign and it
- 34:13was because they wanted better accommodation they nobody said anything
- 34:17to him he says nobody said anything about gun safety to him the accident
- 34:22happened and then all of a sudden people started talking about it so he said he
- 34:25doesn't necessarily even believe that any of that that's true he doesn't know
- 34:28what to believe yeah I I can see that side of it I can see that you know after
- 34:33after the accident happened everyone's now going oh and it was unsafe all along
- 34:37yeah yeah yeah but I mean he also has a vested interest in saying that because
- 34:42he was a producer he's going to get sued so oh he's going to get sued either way
- 34:47I really I really hope they do get to the bottom of this because I just love
- 34:50to know I'm just [ __ ] curious yeah how the [ __ ] did the ball get in there
- 34:53yeah yeah I mean probably and like this armor who's saying I'm absolutely not at
- 34:59fault because when I passed Alec Baldwin the gun there was no bullet in it yeah I
- 35:02know that makes no sense that makes no sense and especially now if there's that
- 35:06sort of thing that oh the the where they hide it from they may have left a bolt
- 35:10in there if that person say there was definitely not then yeah what that's not
- 35:15possible is a murderer it's not possible the you say
- 35:20you HDE it and they left a bullet and he wanted to murder someone in front of
- 35:25like 30 other people imagine he did hey hey it it be a way to get away with it
- 35:31we don't know if he's got away with it yet well no this would be sort of your
- 35:35best chats even going through all this like I don't know what happened I was
- 35:38just handed this on set this horrible thing happened certainly muddied the
- 35:41water doesn't it like well this this is the premise of um Basic Instinct right
- 35:48an author writes a story about a an author who's a murderer and then goes
- 35:52and murders someone in the exact way it happens in a book and then argues why
- 35:56would I do it in the exact way that someone happens in my book yeah oh I I
- 36:01thought the basic premise was to Sharon Stone vagina
- 36:08Al differents apparently yeah apparently was not aware that was going to be on
- 36:12the screen oh man [ __ ] that always sunny she she wasn't aware that she
- 36:16wasn't wearing underwear no no she she was told that she couldn't wear the
- 36:20underwear because you could see the underwear but that if she didn't wear
- 36:24the underwear you'd see nothing what yeah she was a young actress well honestly I
- 36:30I will also know what she was doing you can't really see anything no can't
- 36:34godamn like you really can't you have to really go in and look very very closely
- 36:39pause it do stuff with the lighting and and Paul the Hoven did go in and he did
- 36:43look very close very and he did do stuff with the
- 36:47lighting I need a backlight on
- 36:52this um Matt [ __ ] uh Always Sunny where they're like even
- 36:58Maron Brando got to have sex with a woman on camera and he and he got to
- 37:03like sodomize her with with butter against her will yeah that that part
- 37:09might be a little bit out of context we were talking about that on on the show
- 37:14right or was it before no it was before the
- 37:18show cut cut okay and cut that cut we're
- 37:22not going to from their podcast go what does Paul V Hoven do these days uh he
- 37:27makes movies oh he's got a sexy nun movie coming out yeah he's still making
- 37:31movies okay cuz I used to love his movies and then he sort of
- 37:38stopped he made a lot of foreign language movies in the interim yeah you
- 37:43don't like reading so you wouldn't watch them but he also doesn't hasn't done a
- 37:47lot of like movies Starship Troopers Z kind of movies lately yeah like this a
- 37:52movie I would actually like let's see RoboCop 5 I would watch the hell out
- 37:57that and it' be RoboCop 4 yet skipped for well no but it' be
- 38:03after the series so yeah Al I made okay let's see I thought you were talking
- 38:09about the the reboot which I do not count yeah look basically from Starship
- 38:16Troopers back you've seen everything but then there was Hollow Man which was okay
- 38:21oh yeah and then just a lot of Dutch movies cuz yeah I I I do I you mean films
- 38:28is that what you mean yeah yeah yeah although did you know that that's a misn
- 38:33Noma it's actually not a Dutch tilt it's a deuts tilt and it's because that's how
- 38:37they did it in German expressionism right but of course if you
- 38:42go around now saying deuts tilt instead of Dutch tilt you just sound like a
- 38:46wanker yeah but you'd be right that's a douche
- 38:50tilt yeah you're doing that cuz you're a douche I'm going to go watch Starship
- 38:56Troopers after this great movie I recommend it are you going to watch it
- 38:59on DVD where you have to swap it over halfway through oh that was the worst
- 39:03wait that was the first DVD I purchased or second first one was Fifth Element
- 39:06but yeah you watch it and then it would stop and then you'd have to turn it over
- 39:10cuz it wasn't even like change this it was just turn it overp it yeah bought
- 39:15was Idle Hands I know I watched that copy of Idle Hands at your house mhm you
- 39:20were there sound sounded a bit weird when I
- 39:25said it like that mine was blade mine M was blade yeah yeah
- 39:31nice and now kids today W even know which one they got first cuz you don't
- 39:36even need to buy them that's right yeah like what what did you watch streaming
- 39:40first God knows yeah actually if I also really think about I could probably work
- 39:44it out yeah I might be able to too hey you know last week you guys were talking
- 39:48about movies anywhere right and I was thinking yes I don't need Movies
- 39:53Anywhere necessarily what I need is one central place to just bookmark movies I
- 40:00don't care where I watch them but what I do every night when I want to watch
- 40:04something is first I go to Netflix and look in my saved movies then I go to
- 40:08Amazon Prime and look in my saved movies then I go to [ __ ] binge and watching
- 40:12my saves one central place where you can just see what you T to watch later um
- 40:18isn't that sort of Apple TV and the Google TV stuff yeah except they don't
- 40:21work with like Apple TV doesn't work with Netflix right oh Google TV does
- 40:27yeah Google TV does that's because they have a few they don't all work with all of them
- 40:32ah but does it literally combine your your watch later
- 40:38lists um I don't know my watch later cuz I never put anything on watch later but
- 40:42I can basically scroll through and you can scr through every single streaming
- 40:46one you basically you what dam you want to make like a a I want to like
- 40:52an a playlist exactly yeah of all of everything from across all the different services
- 40:57isn't that uh and I'm happy to go and watch them might do it and then what's
- 41:03that just watch there's that movie one that I figet the name of that everyone
- 41:06letter boxed Everyone likes that you might be able to do it on letter boxed
- 41:10okay I'll look into it cuz that's all I want I'm happy to then go to Netflix and
- 41:15watch it I just want to know I mean I could write a [ __ ] list you know what
- 41:19I mean like I could make a spreadsheet but write on a piece of paper yeah just
- 41:24remember it I just find it worse you'll get around to doing it and then yeah you
- 41:28go look at your piece of paper PR Tre and then when you go to watch it there
- 41:31they've removed it oh yeah and it's now on another stream and I'll forget to
- 41:35remove it from my spreadsheet mhm I just let Google tell me what I should watch
- 41:40you're right though one where you could just have them all in there and then you
- 41:42just click on it and it just figures it out for you like where is this stream
- 41:46because Apple TV does do that unless it's on Netflix because that stupid Fe
- 41:50no but you have to know what you're looking for first and I can't remember
- 41:53whose fault that is I think it's Netflix is being fussy with Apple about it I
- 41:59can't remember the specifics but they just don't cuz I'm happy to actually be
- 42:02watching Netflix and them getting their [ __ ] counter up and whatever yeah
- 42:06yeah cuz that other than Netflix the Apple TV thing works really well and I
- 42:10get everything all in one you know I just go and what am I watching and it
- 42:14Aggregates it all together and that but like like you said it just doesn't
- 42:17include Netflix which is [ __ ] annoying cuz then I got to check two
- 42:20places it's just yeah so annoying just get over it and it's not like you you're
- 42:26happy I'll every streaming service money just make it easy for me to yeah yeah
- 42:30I'll for watch but that's what I mean like they they almost it's almost there
- 42:35right like actually I think Amazon does it with everything it's just the Amazon
- 42:40F stick I think is just not as good as the Apple TV like from a usability
- 42:46standpoint like for me anyway personally I found it to be not as good I don't
- 42:50know I just feels like they they they sort of half get there and then like
- 42:54what we just recently happened with Star Trek Discovery where they've gone we're
- 42:57taking it off everywhere and we're putting behind this ball that only one
- 43:01country can watch it instead of everyone it's s like no you're going backwards
- 43:05mhm although F to have your own streaming service that people have to
- 43:09pay directly to you that's all fine but just don't make it not available they
- 43:13almost solved piracy and then they shot themselves in the foot yeah but turns
- 43:20out they didn't know there was a bullet in the gun when they did
- 43:23it or that you had to pull the trigger for the bullet to come out I didn't even
- 43:28pull the trigger I was just pointing the gun around yeah yeah just waving it
- 43:33around um Always Sunny season 15 started
- 43:37to air very good very good so far I cannot wait to watch it well you can
- 43:44wait you've decided to wait oh I yeah I'm going to have to wait because going
- 43:50to binge it as we were just talking this is one of the ones where you you can't
- 43:54watch it unless you're in America at the moment yeah oh is that is not available
- 43:57at all no there's there's no way I can watch it in Australia yeah legally well
- 44:03that's a shame that I know of let me just double check it is now now that
- 44:09season 15 has started it is officially the longest running sitcom of all time
- 44:15that's amazing see did but this is also one of those things that they will out a
- 44:20lot where this is the longest running series and this longest running sitcom
- 44:25that I don't know all these sort of they mean nothing to me anymore yeah
- 44:29well I mean I was curious what the second longest is like what what has
- 44:33this overtaken and it's a show called The Adventures of Aussie and Harriet
- 44:36which I've never heard of um which ran
- 44:39for 14 Seasons from 1952 to
- 44:441966 right well the longest running show ever is The Simpsons correct yeah and
- 44:50then so now this is the longest running no the the longest running narrative be
- 44:56yeah be one of those like Young and the Restless or something like that that's
- 44:59just been going Forever sing sing is something though isn't it yeah I'm sure
- 45:05of it what long the longest running animated Doctor Who's been running for
- 45:10long than the running these longest running they all sort of mean nothing in
- 45:15the end they is the longest running scripted American
- 45:21show starring Homer list of the longest running
- 45:28American Prime Time television shows The Simpsons Law and Order specifically oh
- 45:34specifically SVU well also um there's also that one person that played like
- 45:40the character the most is from SVU it's that cop he's played that one character
- 45:45for a billion years yeah and also we we talked about this on the podcast but it
- 45:50was probably a decade ago a lot of shows you wouldn't think take place in the Law
- 45:57and Order Universe oh I'm just going to throw out
- 46:02there multiple nasm is the longest running podcast that has the three of us on it
- 46:09that's true and not being funny we might be one of the longest running podcasts
- 46:15although we're definitely up there we've been doing this for 10 years
- 46:20now and I think if you found the ratio
- 46:23of length on air to listenership to Dick
- 46:27we' definitely got the widest margin so I've just found this Wikipedia
- 46:33article which is so that the previous one The Simpsons is longest running scripted Prime
- 46:38Time show right so if you go longest running just in general the longest ever
- 46:44is Meet the Press on NBC and then you got a bunch of these kind of news shows
- 46:49and then there's one called Backyard Farmer which has been on TV for 68 [Music]
- 46:55years and then there's the Tonight Show which has been on TV for 67
- 47:02years and then and then I'm trying to find the what was it The Young and the Restless
- 47:08you mentioned Luke scoobydoo 52 years
- 47:14Sesame Street 52 years but okay the
- 47:18Scooby-Doo 52 years younger the Restless started back there but it's not a show
- 47:24still but The Young and the wrestless narly Beat out by the pric is right at
- 47:2849 years but yeah it's just sort of like when I go into CH achievement.com and I
- 47:33can probably Whittle down like the um genres and platforms and regions to show
- 47:40that I'm the top in some game somewhere and well you should that's how you get
- 47:45people's attention and just to back up what I was saying earlier shows that
- 47:49take place in the Law and Order Universe because of crossover characters include
- 47:5430 Rock The Wire unbreakable Kimmy Schmid Arrested Development the xfiles
- 48:00and many more and I think part of the reason it makes him cross over is is
- 48:05that cop character John Munch yep I just looking at this list right Mr
- 48:11Rogers Neighborhood which is a show that I only know because he was a you know
- 48:17kind of a pop culture figure I've never seen oh yeah I only know it from that
- 48:20the trailer for the movie that made it look like there was something really
- 48:23Sinister happening highly know about it because Rob William makes jokes about it in Mrs
- 48:29Doubtfire only know I know him from there's a corn song called Mr
- 48:33Rogers and that's how yeah but that's no yeah I know it's not the same thing but
- 48:38that's just how I learned of his existence right that show was on TV for 33
- 48:42years were we alive when it was on what's that was were we was it on during our
- 48:48lifetime yeah yeah yeah must have been TV 50s to the ' 80s or something like
- 48:54when did when did it 196 8 to
- 49:002001 wow to 2001 see I always thought
- 49:04that was an old timey show well I I guess we just because we're in Australia
- 49:09we just didn't know about it and and when I I always thought it was just kind
- 49:13of this shortlived beloved series apparently not apparently this was just
- 49:17a big [ __ ] deal yeah but I love all these American things right there's
- 49:22there's there's so many things that I just know of from pop culture that I
- 49:28just know are American things like Chef boy Rd don't know who that is right who
- 49:34shot Jr don't know who that is what show that's from but I know there's a mystery
- 49:38about it you know like there's just there's just a whole bunch of stuff yeah
- 49:42yeah but you yeah you're an America now you got to learn that [ __ ] yeah but that
- 49:46wasn't on the exam who shot Jr and you're like I don't know and
- 49:51they're like good keep your mouth shut Jr shot wait who got shot I can't
- 49:57remember I think Jr got shot Mr Burns Jr got shot yeah who shot Mr Burns I've
- 50:02just spotted this 31 years cops and then it says canceled in response to National
- 50:07protests against the murder of George Floyd So they it's just not fun anymore
- 50:12to watch cuz people don't like cops anymore they don't like literal cops
- 50:18yeah so they were like better cancel no well I mean you say that but I think
- 50:22I've only seen maybe two episodes of that show ever and it was a long time
- 50:26ago but I think it's pretty much like chasing down poor people and crash
- 50:31tackling them to the ground well yes because that's what makes good
- 50:35television a lot of people screaming running and stuff it was just like white
- 50:39color crime how many episodes do you think of there are of cops there be
- 50:46thousands there are 1,13 episodes of Cops me that's a lot of
- 50:52I should have said a thousand thousands is just a ridiculous number yeah there
- 50:55are thousands of episodes of some of these shows let's be clear like Meet the
- 50:59Press 3600 plus they don't even know know and they probably don't even
- 51:06tape them these things are live to air right there's probably not even an
- 51:10archive of all of this stuff well it's true yeah well it's like
- 51:14they remember the show our Dad's Army they've lost episodes of that yeah well
- 51:19do you remember um mhm uh Rod Serling who wrote The Twilight Zone used to
- 51:25write oneoff TV specials before then that they would shoot live to Air and
- 51:29then not tape so it was on once and never again and if it rated its tits off
- 51:35which occasionally they did they would just invite all the actors back and they
- 51:39would do it again [ __ ] so the next week they were
- 51:44like by popular demand here's that show again and here's the actors doing
- 51:48basically what they did last week but it's not a tape it's like a like a play
- 51:51a play yeah yeah back when plays were
- 51:55movies yeah I know what you're thinking
- 51:59it's not a play it's a movie
- 52:03movie that DVD again with the DVDs that DVD of Zoolander was funnier than the movie
- 52:10Zoolander uh yeah it was uh well it expanded on it yeah it was a really
- 52:17interesting use of a new format of media
- 52:20yeah yeah I don't know and that's lost to time like tears in rain now
- 52:27cuz no one's going to watch the Zend DVD yeah yeah no one's you know what no
- 52:32one's going to watch another Ben's still a masterpiece no one's going to watch
- 52:35that fake behind the scenes of Mission Impossible 2 yes that's true where he
- 52:41was Tom Cruz's stunt man yeah that's a great little sketch
- 52:47mhm this this Mission got a whole lot more impossible
- 52:54impossible I'm not going to say it like that no I'm just saying I've just spent all
- 52:59this time trying to find something I'm ranked one in I can't find it gone
- 53:03through a lot of different scenario I can get up to like ninth but I can't get
- 53:07number one what are we talking about yeah what me just fighting something I'm
- 53:10just rated number one at tried to Nar this Luke's point was that if you keep
- 53:16stacking the odds eventually you can give yourself an aad
- 53:22right accad is that how we pronounce
- 53:25that now it's is it it whatever I mean
- 53:29I'm happy to adopt your preferred it's not going to come up so often that we
- 53:35have to not on this
- 53:42show I don't know Matt were you involved with Jane cuz you just won an award
- 53:46today best film that's true I did yeah I did not win uh I did not win best
- 53:52original score though I lost to a film called operation Kung flu
- 53:56that's a shame I hope they have some [ __ ] good music cuz I actually like
- 54:00the score for Jane very much oh thanks I appreciate that I actually don't even
- 54:05know what operation Kung flu is Luke what did you get ninth what what is the
- 54:09criteria to oh ninth is actually quite easy that's just game of score in
- 54:13general in Australia I mean that's a pretty huge achievement I can't narrow
- 54:17it down anymore to get further just annoying me there must be
- 54:21something I'm just not finding the right one just like
- 54:2935 considering there's now 8 billion people in the world that's that's very
- 54:34very good yeah but not all but it doesn't sound good though does it you
- 54:39know it doesn't sound ninth in Australia sounds good and then you're like well
- 54:43how many countries are there 10 tops you know but then you're like how am I 300th
- 54:49overall well so everyone who is above me in gamer score does it for a living mhm
- 54:56well you do now too on Thursdays so I expect you to get to 8th and cuz you say
- 55:01that right everyone above you but like so nobody below you does it for a living
- 55:05like well yeah there would be people below me as well but the people above me
- 55:10that's their job he's saying he's the only he's the only amateur in the top 10
- 55:15yes no yeah but that's what I'm saying like so everybody above you does it for
- 55:20a living nobody below you does it for a living right so there's a guy who's 11th
- 55:24going well I can't say that just there's [ __ ] all in Australia yeah exactly he
- 55:28got he got fired you [Laughter]
- 55:33you yeah there are a lot of people behind me who do it for a living as well
- 55:38so and I'm destroying them why can't you that's my question because you need more
- 55:43money than they it's because yeah no yeah it's because he makes more money from his day
- 55:49job than he could ever hope to make from streaming unless he had big beautiful
- 55:54tits that's pretty much that's the problem yeah living is a is a loose term
- 56:00I've only got small beautiful tits they're not dead they
- 56:04arex mhm they probably don't have a house that that is that is a concern
- 56:10though when you get to our age because like I could get jobs that I would enjoy
- 56:16more yeah but I would have to make a lot less money you
- 56:22know yeah so it was like [ __ ] it yeah that whole thing about cuz I like
- 56:29doing film music stuff but like that's just not an option for realistic yeah
- 56:34you have like the the ones that make a living from it and then you have the
- 56:39thousands oh but even just musician it's a [ __ ] nightmare that industry Dan
- 56:45knows like Jesus but even if you just decided to yourself I just want to be a
- 56:50musician I don't care about money I don't care about Fame and popularity I
- 56:53just want to be a musician so you just became you just did some session
- 56:56guitaring and you just did some spot scoring for some commercials and stuff
- 57:00you would still not you'd still be out of work most of the time and you still
- 57:05would be better off just playing for fun and working at your actual job yeah
- 57:09because cuz yeah cuz I like my job and I'm happy so why [ __ ] why ruin yeah
- 57:14unless you hate your job yeah exactly yeah I've certainly landed on
- 57:20that yeah yeah and I have the option now to say no if I don't want to do
- 57:25something whereas if I was to decide to do that fulltime you don't really have
- 57:30that option necess hi you get you're gonna hate doing this job but you you're
- 57:34going to [ __ ] do it you no choice in the weird all [ __ ] that goes
- 57:38with trying to do something creative with other people
- 57:42yeah and also having to try and [ __ ] compete with all the other people who do
- 57:46exactly what you do even to get that job there was a threat about this on a a
- 57:51composers Forum on where they were talking about how one of the problems
- 57:54they have these days is that if you're an upand cominging composer
- 57:59and you want you there's an interesting indie film right that could get you
- 58:03exposure odds are you got to do it for free you're going to be underbid by some
- 58:08famous film composer who also wants the Kudos and so like a lot of bigname
- 58:14composers will actually do [ __ ] for free yeah because they want an Academy Award
- 58:21mhm and they can afford to do it for free cuz they've also done that other
- 58:24thing that they got paid a fortune the gap between the top 10 not even 10% the
- 58:29top 1% and everybody else is [ __ ] enormous
- 58:34likees so much more infinitely more than any kind of normal than the fourth guy
- 58:41down yeah exact yes yeah it's exponentially but it's the same with
- 58:45with directors as well right cuz I when you go to film School you think okay I
- 58:49might not be making [ __ ] Jurassic Park but I'll make some commercials and
- 58:53stuff no cuz [ __ ] rley Scott makes commercials in his spare time he gets
- 58:58paid more than he gets paid for a film yeah I worked with a stupid number of
- 59:02famous directors just TV commercials in Sydney and I was like why is this a
- 59:06thing oh because they just rake in cash yeah yeah they go out they work for a
- 59:11couple of days and they're done mhm yeah but I was in the weird position for the
- 59:15for Last 5 Years I had my quote unquote dream job where I traveled the world
- 59:20being a [ __ ] director and I [ __ ] hated it because it's stressful it's [ __ ]
- 59:26it's a thankless job like I get more
- 59:30praise more accolades Etc um working my
- 59:35desk job now I'm just working for accolades that's right that was my
- 59:40problem I was working for accolades the whole time and they're like take all the
- 59:42AAL one day we don't know what those are mate try still looking for
- 59:48them get them for you you know but I'm infinitely more happy well I don't know
- 59:52if more happy but less miserable just working a des job sure
- 59:59yeah yep and you can take world you live in yes [ __ ] it exactly do some things I
- 1:00:06like yep like this show for example you
- 1:00:11will we will get you get get you famous on Twitch though Luke yeah for sure
- 1:00:16we'll make that happen I'll get there get him there just have to remember to
- 1:00:20actually do it that's the part where I have a problem then quit your day job no
- 1:00:27it's positive advice to be honest listeners yeah if you if you do have a
- 1:00:31creative thing you enjoy don't you know there's that advice you just go all in
- 1:00:36and [ __ ] ruin your life trying to don't do that not good advice I have
- 1:00:43worked with people in the past that have gone I don't like this job and so they
- 1:00:47quit and I'm going why don't you just keep coming to this job that's paying
- 1:00:51you and just phone it in while you're looking for something else good
- 1:00:56yeah yeah well I realized a few years ago cuz uh I had a friend and and I'm
- 1:01:01not going to say his name but you might figure it out by the clues but um when I
- 1:01:07was trying to be a filmmaker I had one friend who just was also trying to be a
- 1:01:11filmmaker and was and was all in um and
- 1:01:15and he didn't have a girlfriend or a house he slept on the floor of his
- 1:01:20filmmakers Loft you know and all of these things nothing wrong with that and
- 1:01:25and then I I thought why can't I be like him like just wanting it as bad I don't
- 1:01:29and then I'm like yeah cuz you don't want it as bad as him cuz you want a
- 1:01:32[ __ ] girlfriend and a house and a bed to sleep in not a [ __ ] fut on in your
- 1:01:37office that's why I us to tell myself sometimes is is like if I really wanted
- 1:01:41to be doing it [ __ ] 24/7 why wasn't I doing it 24/7 when I could have like
- 1:01:47there have been periods like when I moved to this country I could have gone
- 1:01:50all in but I didn't yeah yeah and you didn't not do it because you [ __ ]
- 1:01:55lack motivation aren't quite what I what I sometimes
- 1:02:01think they are yeah yeah what is it um Joseph Campbell who said you you've got
- 1:02:07to let go of the life you planned in
- 1:02:09order to embrace the life you have sure
- 1:02:14yeah as Dumbledore said in uh Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone it doesn't
- 1:02:20do well to live in dreams and forget to live or to dwell in dreams and forget to
- 1:02:24live I forget the
- 1:02:28sh says in the movie Shrek
- 1:02:32donkey but it's I I think I think it also just goes to to to show that like a
- 1:02:39regular well-rounded person which I think all three of us are are going to
- 1:02:44have going to have no but the fact Luke the fact that you're
- 1:02:49like the fact that you're saying I would
- 1:02:52rather live a normal life 4 days out of the week and then be a twitch streamer
- 1:02:58on one day that's
- 1:03:02right um I think that's healthy you know I think it's I think it's unhealthy to
- 1:03:08go no at any cost I want to be a ventriloquist or whatever it is you want
- 1:03:13the one things I do look at is love L to become
- 1:03:17V at any cost even though I would not be good at
- 1:03:23I want to know I want to know how much the number one ventriloquist in the
- 1:03:28world makes and I guarantee you I have a higher annual that guy's got some [ __ ]
- 1:03:34confirmation bias story where he's like I just quit my job and I told my wife
- 1:03:38[ __ ] off and that's what you have to do yeah right yeah and she lives with our
- 1:03:45kids and her new husband in a beautiful house and I live on the floor of my
- 1:03:48ventriloquist Loft which is what I call my
- 1:03:53van that's all for thank you for listening and we hope you enjoyed the
- 1:03:59show if you enjoyed it then please subscribe and itun to receive episodes
