- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome in to Duval Daily Prisoner by Gen Jack.com.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for tuning in here.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thursday, July, twenty-fourth.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: And we have Jaguar's training camp day two standouts.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Second practice was today.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Third practice will be tomorrow.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Team has a day off on Saturday.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: They'll get back after it on Sunday.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: So did the full recap of the entire practice earlier where you can find out
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: All the nuts and bolts, different Manusha that went down today, but this is just the standout who played really well today in practice players that caught my eye and I'm sure caught the coaches eye as well.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: Both Edge players Josh Hines Allen and Trayvon Walker made big plays.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: and this practice in Josh Hines Allen has really stacked two excellent days in a row.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: He made a huge run stuff consistently hitting on pressures and winning and then Trayvon Walker had a big batted pass at the line of scrimmage and also was able to get a quick pressure on the day.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: So you also see some pockets collapsing from the outside end and those two guys are responsible for that more often than not.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I also wanted to shout out Josh Heinz Allen for making the top one hundred yet again.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: NFL top one hundred.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: He came in at sixty three.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think he should probably be higher.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: But anytime, you know, there's like seventeen hundred guys in the NFL who make the actual.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: make teams.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not talking about the ninety-man roster, but when you just talk about the actual fifty-three-man roster, there's like seventeen hundred guys.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're top sixty-three, that's still pretty darn impressive and really awesome.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, it goes to show you how much players respect Josh Heinz Allen, but it was really cool to see that little clip of him as the sixty-third best player in the NFL from this year.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: I love seeing him talking to the Minnesota Viking sideline saying how he was kind of whipping up on that boy and he was obviously talking about Cam Robinson.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: Those two guys had a healthy competition and practice for years and Josh Hinds Allen.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: When Cameron Robinson got traded to the Vikings last year was able to get after it against him, you know, actually on a Sunday and as an opponent, true opponent, not a teammate.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: And now he'll also get to do that.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like in twenty twenty five.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: as Cam Robinson looks like he's going to be the starting left tackle for the Houston Texans.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, that's fireworks, that's exciting stuff.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: And Josh Hines Allen just such a stud.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: He came in as an unbelievable athlete three or four outside linebacker type.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's had to go up and down in terms of way was up way last year, shouldn't have been nearly a two hundred eighty five pounds.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of unbelievable, but still was very productive.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: Still was a really good player.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be even better this year at a more reasonable weight.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: And then Trayvon Walker.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: He spoke after practice today, and he just talked about how he's trying to bring that professional approach.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: He feels like he's matured a lot.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: He understands how he needs to take care of his body, hone his craft, pay attention on the film room, and that was echoed by his defensive coordinator.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's about time the Jaguar sign Trayvon Walker to an extension.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know when that's going to happen.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: I feel confident that he will be signed to an extension at some point.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: The window just opened this off season so they don't have to be in a rush to do it but the longer they wait the more expensive he's going to be because his arrow is pointing up.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Another player whose arrow is pointing, you know, ninety degrees up, Travis Hunter, goodness gracious.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: His first two days of Jaguar's training camp have been really awesome to see.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: The energy, which you expect, but
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's been running Chris Brouts.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's been where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be there just about every single rep, whether it's in individual team seven on seven team eleven on eleven.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: He had a couple more catches today in eleven on eleven and seven on seven and he just doesn't let the football hit the ground.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: He gets in work as a defensive back, even when he's playing offense, they'll find a period or two to be coaching him up.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: You'll have a cornerbacks coach, you'll have Anthony Camponele, they're giving him individual attention for a period.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: And even with doing that, he's still able to execute an extremely high level at receiver.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: So that's been really cool to see.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: And how about, you know, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: had a drop in positional drills yesterday.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: He also had a drop in the team portion eleven on eleven.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: Not today.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: He played really well.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: He had several catches from Trevor Lawrence and the team portion of practice and he looked really clean in the wide receiver drills as well.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was a couple opportunities
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: One of them was tightly contested to cover Trevor Lawrence took a shot, couldn't complete it down and feel to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: But Trevor missed.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: He missed one throw down the field.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: I told you all about it earlier.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: There was a muddied pocket where Brian Thomas Jr.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: had at least a step on Tyson Campbell.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: And if he puts that in a catchable range for Brian Thomas Jr.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence,
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: Probably talking about six, right?
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: And outside of that Tyson Campbell's been really locked down.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: He always says, but BTJ, I said, you know, it'd be good for him to rebound from having a couple drops in a practice to start training camp.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: And he rebounded in big ways.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Everything you wanted him to be today.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: And he was beaten up on some of the Jaguar's best corners.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's gonna beat up on some of the best corners in the league once season starts.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: So no big surprise there from Brian Thomas Jr.,
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Devin Lloyd had a really good day and I think he's been impressive so far in general, but he's consistently one of those guys who is thumping a little bit, right?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: No pads yet, so you got to be careful.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's crossing the line necessarily, but he is routinely in one of those holes filling a gap and
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: If he was allowed to really lay in a lick on a running back, right?
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: And he did, he did get Johnny Munt today on a short pass that looked like it was gonna be completed from Trevor Lawrence to Johnny Munt.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: He blew it up, looked like it would have been an easy completion.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: Johnny Munt had it on, I mean, he had it.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then he didn't, once David Lloyd arrived.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: So he's playing confident, he's playing good football.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis,
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: His, I mean, his past breakup today was one of the best past breakups I've ever seen in practice from a Jack Wars defensive back.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: It was short area, unbelievable reaction time, full body extension, you know, like completely horizontal to the ground, just getting a finger tip on it.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: from a disadvantageous alignment to a break up a pass.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: That was just beautiful.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: And he's sticky.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: He's energetic.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's making plays.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis is a strong addition in my opinion to the Jaguar's roster.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: Um, a couple other guys that made individual plays in the secondary or for the secondary, um, two, two guys who are really just trying to make a name for themselves and maybe compete for the practice squad.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: Zechariah McPherson, he was able to, uh, he was sticky, deep down the field against Brian Thomas Jr., him an Andrew Wingard.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Andrew Wingard has pretty much been everywhere he's supposed to be as well.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: But the economic fearsome was able to stick with BTJ down the field on one rep and on another rep he was able to lock up Parker Washington and you know, deny a throwing lane.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Mullins still tried to throw it, but it was just locked down.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: There was no way for Parker to get to the ball.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Great coverage there.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: So he made a couple plays where he was targeted and coverage and really allowed nothing.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: So that was impressive for him.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: These guys that were small school or
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Undrafted for agents, trying to make a name for themselves, making plays like that, and practice as one way to do it, and another guy who did that was Danico Slotter, who had a nice interception, another young guy, just trying to, you know.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe make it back into a roster, but more than likely make the practice squad.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: If he can earn a spot there, and he made a nice interception today, and was able to run it back, maybe able to score it.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Kayla Ransaga himself a really nice pass break up.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: Looks like it was going to be an easy catch from Hunter Long, and Ransaga has hand in there and broke it up.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: So that was really impressive for him, the rookie out of,
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: out of two lane who is a Jaguar second pick in the twenty twenty five NFL draft but you know third round or eighty eight overall.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson's been really impressive he picked off Nick Mullins today and uh... Nick Mullins I think he's gotten picked off in both of these practices so far most of his reps are pretty clean where he looks smart he looks like nobody's doing poise but then there's one where it'll get away from him.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson was able to capitalize in a big way on that today.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: And he's somebody fighting for the roster I mean.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: But we think of him as this guy who came into last season as a starter, potential starter didn't go very well.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: I still think he's got a lot of talent.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he's showing that pretty much the whole way through the off season and now in a training camp, which is great for him.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: And two receivers who are fighting for spots.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: played really well today and really have played well both days.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: And that's Parker, Parker Washington and Joshua Seaface.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: Seaface did have a drop yesterday, right?
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: He did.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: But ever since that drop, he has been money.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: He made that diving catch yesterday.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: He made a contestic catch yesterday.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then today, he made two really impressive catches.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: One was over the middle where
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: A pass he should have caught, but it could have been easy to anticipate the defender behind him or in front of him, laying a lick on him.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: hitting him pretty hard and I know it's practice but still to have that focus was good and then he was also able to get open deep down the field against the Andre Prince and make a nice catch today so he's been impressive and Parker Washington has just been Johnny on the spot very consistent doing everything he needs to be he definitely led the team and catches today and team he had like five catches
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: And he had a good practice yesterday as well.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be really hard to not keep around.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's probably the Jaguar's fourth wide receiver right now.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like Joshua Sebas might be wide receiver five.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: If I had to
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: put them in order right now.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, obviously, B.T.J.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: in Travis and then Diami, and then I would say Parker and Joshua Cephas would be four and five right now.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: So those guys are both playing well and being impressive out there on the field.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: Joshua Cephas is somebody I liked a lot as an undrafted free agent last year out of YouTube or UTSA.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's UTSA, but guy who
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: didn't have the greatest long speed, but he is explosive off the line and he's got reliable hands.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has just a lot of skill as a receiver and decent length.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: So these two guys are excited about what they can potentially continue to prove here as players who probably should make the Jaguar's roster.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: But of course, special teams at the back end of these positional groups is going to be critical.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: So they've got to do a good job there as well.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen Parker Washington
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: being an impressive return man.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: We got to see Joshua Seva's do more as you know like a potential gunner and different things on special teams.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll do it for the standouts.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: Good practice today.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty clean practice outside of some of the you know the backup quarterback's having a mistake or two.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: Here they're pretty clean practice overall.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: I was I was impressed with it.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: Excited to get back out there tomorrow.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you think in the comments section below.
