- 0:05Speaker 1: Back once again with Country Weekly, where we check out
- 0:08news and gossip from the world of country music. I'm
- 0:12your host, Ken Dawkins, and i will be reading from
- 0:14various sources found online now. As a reminder, RADIOI is
- 0:18a reading service intended for people who are blind or
- 0:21have other disabilities that make it difficult to read printed material.
- 0:26We'll begin with the first article, dated December eighth, and
- 0:29this is from Savingcountry music dot Com. Often there's commentary
- 0:34along with the news. First up, the split of country
- 0:38duo Maddie and Tay. You can't say you didn't see
- 0:41it coming, and you can't really say you blame them.
- 0:44It's hard in country music for women, for duos, from mothers,
- 0:47for performers who want to keep their integrity intact. And
- 0:50all of these things describe Maddie and Tay, probably best
- 0:54known for their breakout single and bro Country Kissoff twenty
- 0:58fourteen's smash number one Girl in a Country Song. On Monday,
- 1:03Mattie Farlow Fought and tayd Kerr announced they are officially
- 1:07splitting up as a duo, but insists it's not a
- 1:10permanent breakup. They're leaving the door open to working together
- 1:14in the future and remain close friends. This decision wasn't
- 1:18the result of some contentious feud or fight. It was
- 1:21due primarily to take Her wanting to spend more time
- 1:24at home with her two children and growing family. It's
- 1:27been such a hard, hard, honestly heartbreaking decision. Take Her says,
- 1:32this was the only dream I've ever had since I
- 1:34exited the womb. I had a very specific vision of
- 1:37creating music and singing music when we met at fifteen.
- 1:40That's what we were set out to do. And we're
- 1:43both just so grateful that we've had the journey that
- 1:45we've had. This career has been everything we've ever wanted.
- 1:49But now take Her wants to spend time at home
- 1:51being the mother to her four year old daughter and
- 1:54thirteen month old son, and the wife to her husband,
- 1:57Josh Kerr, who is a hit country songwriter and Grant
- 2:00SEMy winner. Mattie Fot has a two year old son
- 2:03of her own, but her husband is to stay at
- 2:05home member of the couple, and Mattie looks forward to
- 2:07launching a solo career. I'm a mother too, so I
- 2:10totally understand the poll, says Mattie. We both were very
- 2:13aware of Tay's heart just not being inturing that much,
- 2:17which ultimately led to the decision. The duo says recording
- 2:20music or performing live together in the future is not
- 2:23out of the question. The legacy Mattie and Tay leave
- 2:26behind or put on pause, according to Saving Country Music,
- 2:30is a complex one to consider. Though some regard them
- 2:33as a one hit wonder vea girl in a country
- 2:36song who never really developed beyond that sticky track. That's
- 2:40not true at all. The duo followed up the song
- 2:42with the top ten Fly that was later certified platinum.
- 2:47Then five years later, in twenty nineteen, the duo's song
- 2:50Die from a Broken Heart became a massive hit, cresting
- 2:53at number one and becoming certified four times platinum. Friends
- 2:58don't only reach the thirties on radio, but was a
- 3:01major organic hit and has been certified platinum two, giving
- 3:04Mattie and Tay four platinum certifications. But the story of
- 3:08the duo really is a story of only a few
- 3:11genuine breakout hits over a span of eleven years, with
- 3:14not much in between. Though they were nominated for the
- 3:17CMA's Duo of the Year eleven times in the ACM's
- 3:21Duo of the Year nine. This speaks more to the
- 3:23weakness of the category than the real staying power or
- 3:26cultural cache that Mattie and Tay enjoyed. They were the
- 3:30anti bro duo, yet ironically feel like a relic of
- 3:33the bro country era in some respects. Irrespective of the
- 3:37measure of their success, the duo has always been easy
- 3:40to root for. They were a bit more country than
- 3:42their mainstream counterparts and were willing to have a little
- 3:45fun and be funny and take chances. They caused a
- 3:48stir in the mainstream with Florida Georgia Lines Brian Kelly
- 3:51getting heated over girl in a Country song. They were
- 3:54one of the few mainstream country female success stories of
- 3:57the era. If nothing else, they outlasted to Florida Georgia Line. However,
- 4:02the backdrop of the pseudo break up is the duo's
- 4:04twenty twenty five album Love and Light, that didn't seem
- 4:07to raise the pulse of just about anybody. They tried
- 4:10to make Heart they didn't break into a single, but
- 4:13it failed to chart. The fire and frivolity of some
- 4:16of their early music felt replaced by complacent musings on
- 4:19life and maturity, perhaps appropriate for their moment in life,
- 4:23but not especially compelling to audiences, says Saving Country Music.
- 4:26It was also more contemporary in a more country moment.
- 4:30Mattie and Tay met in twenty ten in Dallas when
- 4:32they were fifteen after being paired up by a vocal coach.
- 4:36One was from Oklahoma and the other was from Houston,
- 4:39and they met half way. They literally spent half their
- 4:42lives together as duo singers and co writers. I just
- 4:45want to make sure that our fans know how much
- 4:47we love them and how grateful we are for them,
- 4:49says Matte Font. We have kept doing this for so
- 4:52long because of them. They have been the gasoline in
- 4:55our tank. The duo still has about a dozen shows
- 4:58on their calendar through June twenty twe twenty six before
- 5:01they officially call it quits. Next Raoul Mallow voice of
- 5:07a generation and Maverick's frontman, has died. Even before his
- 5:12recent harrowing battle with cancer. Anyone who asked Saving Country
- 5:15Music who the best singer of this generation is would
- 5:17receive back the answer without a hint of hesitation. Raoul Mallo.
- 5:22That assessment comes virtually irrespective of genre. In fact, one
- 5:26of the most important legacies Raoul Malo leaves behind was
- 5:29his ability to dabble in so many different musical styles
- 5:32while mastering quite a few. He even pioneered a couple
- 5:35of his own during the span of his incredible career,
- 5:38and did it all in two separate languages. There's such
- 5:41a soaring effortlessness and sweetness to Raoul Malo's tone that
- 5:45it certainly distinguishes him irrespective of any personal taste in music.
- 5:50Sure when querying the general population, Raoul Malo might not
- 5:53be the first name that comes up among landmark singers,
- 5:56and this is because for his thirty five year career,
- 5:58as accomplished as it was, Raoul Malo has always followed
- 6:02his heart, and his heart led him to music that
- 6:04needed love, championing, and attention and needed a voice like
- 6:08Raoul Malos to sustain. Perhaps he could have been an
- 6:11operatic great or var era, he could have sung straight
- 6:14up pop instead. Malo was unwilling and perhaps incapable of
- 6:18playing anyone else's game, of following anyone else's path but
- 6:22his own, or of being pigeonholed in any particular place.
- 6:26He was uninterested in doing what might earn him the
- 6:28most treasure or prestige, and he wasn't one to put
- 6:31himself out there as the best of anything. That's why
- 6:34he reformed the Mavericks after attempting to dabble in a
- 6:37solo career. He felt more comfortable in a band sharing
- 6:40the spotlight with others. Everyone loves to talk about the
- 6:44virtues of nineties country these days and the era's resurgence
- 6:47and influence, but let's not forget that was the Mavericks
- 6:50who were the CMA's Vocal Group of the Year in
- 6:52nineteen ninety five and ninety six. When you're listening to
- 6:56a nineties country playlist and a song like all You
- 6:58Ever Do Is Bring Me Down or what a Crying
- 7:01shame comes on at Smackshy's Square in the Face with
- 7:04the Fields and reminds you just how spectacular Raoul Mallow
- 7:07and the Mavericks were back in the day. But this
- 7:10is just where it all started. Where it would go
- 7:13with the Mavericks, and Mallow's solo career would influence the
- 7:15worlds of Latin music, classic pop, big band, and everything
- 7:19in between. One of the most astounding things about the
- 7:22career of Malo and the Mavericks has been the longevity
- 7:25of it. The band's big comeback record in twenty thirteen,
- 7:28In Time, won the saving Country Music Album of the Year.
- 7:32This was the same year Sturgel Simpson released High Top
- 7:35Mountain and Jason Isbel released Southeastern. Some still questioned that pick,
- 7:40but the strength of that Mavericks album is steadfast. Miami
- 7:44is an unlikely origination point for a country band, but
- 7:47the Mavericks were an unlikely story in country all the
- 7:50way around. After Malow met bassist Robert Reynolds and they
- 7:53bonded over their shared love of performers like Roy Orbison
- 7:56and Johnny Cash, they decided to start a country band
- 8:00eighteen eighty nine, bringing in drummer Paul Deacon. Since any
- 8:04country bars and the region insisted live bands play covers,
- 8:07they had to play the rock clubs instead. When the
- 8:10band made such a racket in South Florida, they were
- 8:12asked to play a showcase in Nashville in ninety one.
- 8:15The story goes that the rep from MCA Nashville chose
- 8:18to sign them even before they finished their sound check.
- 8:21That's how good the Mavericks were. That's the kind of
- 8:24voice Raoul Malo possessed. They didn't become a hit machine.
- 8:27They never even had a single crack the top ten,
- 8:30but they were the envy of every other artist in
- 8:32Nashville and set audiences ablaze. Not dissimilar to other Latin
- 8:37pioneers in country like Freddie Fender and Johnny Rodriguez, Raoul
- 8:41Malo and the Mavericks opened up country music to new
- 8:43audiences and did so with music that was distinctly country
- 8:46in its day, but even beyond the work of their predecessors,
- 8:50Raoul and the Mavericks also created a bridge from country
- 8:53fans to appreciate the music of Latin America and South Florida.
- 8:57By fearlessly pursuing these influences, especially in Malo's solo career
- 9:01and the later iterations of The Mavericks, we had a
- 9:04sense the end of Raul Malo's singing was coming soon.
- 9:08Just this last weekend, a couple of tribute shows were
- 9:10held at the country music mother church, the Ryman Auditorium
- 9:13in Nashville. But that doesn't make the shock, the profound
- 9:16sense of loss, the vacancy left in our souls where
- 9:19Raoul Malo's voice, once uplifted, could hold, comforted and inspired
- 9:23any less cavernous and difficult to navigate. You may never
- 9:27see Raoul Malo's name alongside the mount rushmore of American
- 9:30crooners like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, George Jones and the like,
- 9:34But that doesn't mean it doesn't belong there. He was
- 9:37Raoul Malo, and he sang right from the soul with
- 9:39no latency, and that voice will forever echo through the
- 9:42chambers of our hearts for eternity, says saving Country Music,
- 9:46irrespective of his continued presence on earth. But he is
- 9:49the very first we hope to hear sing again when
- 9:52we're all reunited with the Almighty. Now, we make a
- 9:55left and a right and head straight to countrynow dot
- 9:59com with the first article dated December ninth. Morgan Wallen
- 10:03sand In My Boots Festival Hangout Music Fest canceled in
- 10:06Gulf Shores for twenty twenty six. Neither Morganwallens sand in
- 10:11My Boots Festival nor the traditional Hangout Music Festival will
- 10:14take place in twenty twenty six. Golf Shores, Alabama Mayor
- 10:18Robert Kraft confirm Monday during a city council meeting the
- 10:22Hangout Music Festival will not occur in twenty twenty six,
- 10:25Kraft said, we will not have an event in twenty
- 10:27twenty six. We are already approving the event in twenty
- 10:30twenty seven. The Hangout Fast has been held in Golf
- 10:33Shores since twenty ten, typically featuring a pop leaning lineup.
- 10:38In twenty twenty four, it was announced that Wallen would
- 10:40take over the festival for one year in twenty twenty five,
- 10:43rebranded as the Sand in My Boots Festival. The mayor
- 10:47added that the timeline for a twenty six event became
- 10:50too tight, thus pushing the event to the following year.
- 10:54We delayed too long, or they did in their application
- 10:56to be able to get the kind of acts that
- 10:58we required them to have to be successful in twenty
- 11:01twenty six, he said, we will refuse to let them
- 11:04go back to the acts that we've had before. So
- 11:06they couldn't do it, so they canceled the twenty twenty
- 11:09six event. The twenty twenty five event was a massive success,
- 11:13selling out forty thousand tickets almost immediately, a feat the
- 11:16Hangout Fest hadn't achieved in years. Wallen performed alongside artists
- 11:21including Hardy Brooks and Dunn, Post Malone and more. Following
- 11:26the festival, locals praised sand in My Boots for a
- 11:29better overall experience compared with previous hangout fast events, citing
- 11:33a more well behaved crowd and fewer issues. My analogy
- 11:37has been my own personal thoughts that in the past
- 11:39we had young kids with her daddy's credit card here
- 11:42and not a whole lot for them to worry about.
- 11:44Mayorcraft said, according to al dot com, they were on
- 11:47a free leash. So this year we had an older
- 11:49group that had their own credit card, and you could
- 11:52certainly see they were more disciplined. There were less problems. Really,
- 11:56it was a much better behaving crowd. Business owner Anthony
- 12:00Gallo of Ice House tap room near the festival's site
- 12:04also shared positive feedback. A lot more clothing, dramatically less issues.
- 12:08Last year, there were a lot of declined cards on
- 12:10the last day. This year they were not, he said.
- 12:13From a business standpoint, our revenue definitely increased. This was
- 12:16a remarkably better experience this year than last year. Hands down.
- 12:21The Mayor's hopeful event can return in twenty twenty seven
- 12:24and deliver a positive experience for everyone involved. However, it's
- 12:28not clear if the twenty seven event will returned as
- 12:30Sand in My Boots Festival or Hangout Music Festival. They've
- 12:35got time now to pursue the type of talent we
- 12:37want on our beaches, to invite the right audience that
- 12:39we want on our beaches. That we proved last time,
- 12:41the last event that could happen were determined. If it's
- 12:44going to happen, it's going to happen that way again. Next.
- 12:50Lou Combs pulls at heart strings with tender new ballad
- 12:53Giving Her Away. Luke Combs is tugging at the heart
- 12:57strings with his latest release, Giving Her Away. After teasing
- 13:00the emotional track on social media and receiving an overwhelming
- 13:03fan response, the superstar officially released the song Friday, marking
- 13:07his first release since the prequel earlier this fall. Written
- 13:12by Gary Garris, Josh Mirenda, and Josh Phillips, the piano
- 13:15driven ballad captures the tender emotional moments leading up to
- 13:18a wedding. Told from the perspective of a groom to
- 13:22his soon to be father in law, the song explores
- 13:25the shared love and overwhelming emotions both men feel as
- 13:28the father gives his daughter away to the man who
- 13:30loves her only she could have got us both in suits.
- 13:34Only she could have got us out of our boots,
- 13:36fighting back every tear that we both knew we were
- 13:39gonna cry. Today, neither one of us knows what to
- 13:41do standing up in front of a crowded room on
- 13:44a springtime Saturday afternoon, with both our lives about to change. Man,
- 13:48you brought your baby. I brought a ring. I'm giving
- 13:50her my name and you're giving her away. Comb sings
- 13:53on the heartfelt chorus. Although Combs didn't co write the song,
- 13:57he was immediately drawn to it and shares a long
- 13:59standing can with one of the co writers. One of
- 14:02my good buddies, Josh Phillips, sent me this song that
- 14:04he wrote, and I was just absolutely blown away by it.
- 14:08Josh has just been an absolute streak recently with these
- 14:11songs that he's been writing, and this one luckily made
- 14:13it to my inbox. Josh used to crash on the
- 14:16couch with me back in boone, and I used to
- 14:18go down and play shows with him, So it's kind
- 14:20of a full circle moment for me to get to
- 14:22record one of his songs and put it out there
- 14:24for you guys. I think it's a real special and
- 14:27I hope you guys love it, He explained whether it's
- 14:30heartfelt lyrics and tender melody. Giving Her Away is destined
- 14:32to become a staple on wedding playlists in the new year.
- 14:36Giving Her Away follows hits like My Kind Of Saturday Night,
- 14:39fifteen Minutes Days like These, as well as Combe's latest
- 14:42radio single, Back in the Saddle, which recently became his
- 14:45twentieth consecutive single, extending his record setting streak for the
- 14:49most consecutive chart toppers has start to a career in
- 14:52country radio. This tender release comes on the heels of
- 14:56combs My Kind Of Saturday Night tour on the road
- 14:58next year, performing so old out stadium shows across the US,
- 15:02UK and Europe. Highlights include three Knights in London's Webley Stadium,
- 15:07two nights at Edinburgh Scottish Guess Murrayfield, two Knights at
- 15:10Ireland Slaying Castle, and two Knights at Green Bay's Lambeau Field,
- 15:14as well as stops at Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium, South
- 15:17Bend's Notre Dame Stadium, Knoxville's Neiland Stadium, Columbus Ohio Stadium,
- 15:22Paris Acorp Arena and Sweden's Eudeve, among others. The twenty
- 15:27six tour will feature special guest Dirks Bentley, The Script,
- 15:30The Teske Brothers, Thomas Rhett, ty Myers, Jake Worthington, Thelma
- 15:34and James, and the Castellos. Next, Laney Wilson units with
- 15:40Arrowsmith and Young Blood for genre bending version of Wild Woman.
- 15:45Lanny Wilson is bringing her signature country edge to the
- 15:48rock world as she joins multi Grammy Award winning Rock
- 15:51and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Arrowsmith and British multi
- 15:55platinum artists and Grammy nominated artist Young Blood for a
- 15:58firy new rendition of Wild Wine. The original version of
- 16:02the scorching track appears on the Rock Acts collaborative EP
- 16:05one More Time Out Now via Capitol Records. Amid the
- 16:09pulsating rhythms, the artists spanning multiple genres come together to
- 16:13tackle a story that's both vulnerable and honest, capturing the
- 16:16push and pull of a complicated relationship. The song also
- 16:20digs into the sacrifices that come with fame and life
- 16:24on the road, noting in how constantly moving between connection
- 16:27and distance can make it hard to maintain healthy relationships
- 16:32at its core, whild Woman serves as an introspective look
- 16:35at love, heartbreak, and the messy side of romance, especially
- 16:39as someone who has already dedicated so much of their
- 16:41heart to their craft. Young Blood opens the track with
- 16:45raw energy, soon joined by aerosmith Stephen Tyler, whose vocals
- 16:49escalate the intensity until the rockers come together in a
- 16:52soaring powerhouse delivery. Midway through Landy Wilson Louisiana bread voice
- 16:58weaves into the narrative, softening the air and adding a
- 17:01new layer of emotional depth before the rockers take it home.
- 17:04According to Lanny Wilson, this unexpected collaboration came together after
- 17:08she and Steven Tyler met at the twenty twenty five
- 17:10Grammys and performed Dreamond together at Tyler's sixth annual jam
- 17:14Per Janey Benefit in February. Then, while building out the
- 17:18One More Time project, Tyler and Youngblood had the idea
- 17:22to invite Wilson to add her vocals to the track
- 17:24while Joe Perry returned to the studio to create a
- 17:27fresh guitar part for this version. The reigning CMA Entertainer
- 17:31of the Year happily took them up on the offer.
- 17:34Yeah so I got to spend a little bit of
- 17:35my time with Steven Tyler during the Grammys this past year,
- 17:38and they reached out probably like a month or so ago.
- 17:41It was a really quick turnaround. I mean as soon
- 17:43as I heard the song, I was like, Okay, I
- 17:46know what I'm going to do on my end, and
- 17:47they really just gave me some creative freedom and went
- 17:50at it. It's going to be fun. I'm ready to
- 17:52do it live with them. I'm like, okay, we got
- 17:54to make this happen now where when? Tell me what time?
- 17:58Let's do it, Wilson told Apple Music's Zane Lowe. Young
- 18:02Blood echoed Wilson's excitement to collaborate and bring a fresh
- 18:05rendition of the track to life. He gushed over his
- 18:08musical journey, admitting he's been a fan of Hers for
- 18:10a while. I'm really hyped to have Lady Wilson jump
- 18:13on this record with us, he shared, I've been a
- 18:15fan of hers for a while. Our life story is
- 18:18truly inspirational. With this record, we really needed a female
- 18:21vocalist to carry it with a level of authenticity that
- 18:25Laney embodies. We needed a wild woman, and we for
- 18:28sure got one. The release of wild Woman comes after
- 18:32the One More Time EP made a huge splash on
- 18:34the charts and became one of the biggest rock debuts
- 18:37of the year when it landed the top ten of
- 18:39the Billboard two hundred. This milestone extends Arrowsmith's incredible six
- 18:43decade run of top ten Billboard two hundred entries and
- 18:47gives Young Blood its first ever top ten on the chart.
- 18:50With nearly forty thousand units sold in the first week,
- 18:53The EP also hit number one on Billboard's Top Rock Albums,
- 18:57topped Indie store album sales, reached No. Number two on
- 19:00vinyl albums and number three on Top album Sales. Internationally,
- 19:05it debuted at number one in the UK, signaling Aerosmith's
- 19:08first UK chart topper in forty nine years and Young
- 19:12Blood's second UK number one this year, while landing in
- 19:15the top five in countries like Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands
- 19:18and Switzerland. One More Time is monumental for Aerosmith as
- 19:22it marks their first new music in over twelve years.
- 19:25The five track collection, produced by Max Schwartz, brings together
- 19:28two generations of rock across four original songs co written
- 19:32by Aerosmith and young Blood, along with these songs and
- 19:36the original version of Lanny Wilson's Wild Woman Fans can
- 19:40Explore Problems one Thousand Days and the final track, a
- 19:43newly remixed version of the Aerosmith classic Back in the Saddle.
- 19:49Now we move over to the boot dot Com with
- 19:51the first article published on December eighth. Garth Brooks attended
- 19:55the Kennedy Center Honors. But it's not what you think.
- 20:00You might guess three explanations for Garth brooks appearance at
- 20:02the Kennedy Center Honors before getting to the correct one. Actually,
- 20:06there might be five or six explanations for his presence
- 20:09at the ceremony that are more logical than the truth.
- 20:12The forty eighth annual Kennedy Center Honors were held at
- 20:14the Kennedy Center in Washington on December seventh. Sylvester Stallone,
- 20:18George straight Kiss, Gloria Gaynor, and Michael Crawford receive the honor.
- 20:22This year, President Donald Trump hosted the event. Brooks was
- 20:26not there for George Strait, but several other country stars were.
- 20:31Brook's job was to perform in tribute to an unexpected
- 20:34and non country honoree. Vince Gill had the honor of
- 20:38speaking on behalf of straight, much like the King of
- 20:41Country Music did for Gill on November nineteenth at the
- 20:44CMA Awards. Later, he'd sing Troubadour, becoming one of the
- 20:48three to perform on the night. Brooks and Dunn also
- 20:51took the stage singing Amarillo by Morning in front of
- 20:53a crowd of celebrities, politicians, and dignitaries. Finally, Miranda Lambert
- 20:58closed the Three Days or Three Song medleink with run,
- 21:01earning per USA Today one of the bigger cheers of
- 21:04the night. A funny moment came as straight as receiving
- 21:08his medallion. He took his hat off and, much to
- 21:10the President's surprise, revealed he has a full head of hair.
- 21:15Twenty twenty Kennedy Center Honors recipient Garth Brooks took the
- 21:18stage to honor Kiss. Noting the unexpected tribute, he assured
- 21:22the crowd he wasn't in the wrong segment and ripped
- 21:25through a performance of Shout It Loud. Magician Crisis Or
- 21:29Chris Angel and rock band Cheap Trick would also play
- 21:31for Gene Simmons and Company. Photos from the twenty twenty
- 21:34five Kennedy Center Honors performances will be released at a
- 21:38later date. While the President typically attends the Kennedy Center Honors,
- 21:42it's unusual for a sitting president to host. Trump was
- 21:45active all night, but he also greeted guests pre show
- 21:48and shared a presentation with Kennedy Center Honors recipients in
- 21:51the Oval office. There's no photo evidence that indicates Brooks
- 21:55and Trump spoke during the festivities. They met once before
- 21:58at Mari Largo. Had they shook hands, that would have
- 22:01likely created some excitement on social media. Back in twenty one,
- 22:05Brooks performed at President Biden's inauguration. That performance was scrutinized
- 22:09by people who felt he was revealing his political allegiance
- 22:12in the moment, and since then he's accused of being
- 22:15a liberal by those who ideologies lean more conservative. Brooks
- 22:19has always maintained that the inauguration performance was not inspired
- 22:22by politics, but by a commitment to his country, but
- 22:26those words have often fallen on deaf ears, and thus
- 22:28its unlikely Brooks took his opportunity to make his point
- 22:31or to curry favor with the president. Highlights from this
- 22:35year's Kennedy Center Honors will air on CBS on December
- 22:37twenty third at eight p m. The show will provide
- 22:40a great opportunity for fans to consider the breath of
- 22:43Strait's life and career that may even share a few
- 22:46of these class pictures of straight as a child, young man,
- 22:49and adult. Next, Tricia Yearwood reveals intimate acoustic tour for
- 22:55twenty twenty six. Tricia Yearwood announced a new tour and
- 22:59an the new deluxe version of her latest album, per
- 23:02twenty twenty six. The singer is set to expand The
- 23:05Mirror on January twenty third with a deluxe version that
- 23:08adds four new songs and a bonus cut. Then on
- 23:11March fourth, she'll begin the Mirror tour with two very
- 23:14talented collaborators. The Mirror released last Summer's Yearward's sixteenth studio album.
- 23:20It marked the first time she's ever revealed herself as
- 23:22a songwriter, as she long believed she didn't have that talent.
- 23:26Writers like Leslie Satcher and bridget Tatum worked with Earwood
- 23:29to find her voice through song, and together they co
- 23:32wrote most of the fifteen songs. The title track is
- 23:36particularly impressive, making Taste of Country's midyear list of the
- 23:39top country songs by Women. Not too much is known
- 23:43about the four songs or new songs added to the
- 23:45deluxe album, but the titles include You're Gonna Love It Here,
- 23:49Different Kind of Hard, Undone and Country Music. Her Story.
- 23:54Another song fans note called put It in a Song
- 23:56will also be included as a bonus track. The Mirror
- 24:00Tour promises fifteen intimate acoustic shows, during which Yearwood will
- 24:04tell stories of her music and career and play hits
- 24:07and favorites from her catalog. Sachur and Tatum will join
- 24:11her at each show. A full slate of dates includes
- 24:13stops along both coasts and several shows dotted in between,
- 24:18including on April Let's See That's April No March March
- 24:22twenty first, in Paducah, Kentucky at the Carson Center for
- 24:25the Arts. Next. Billy Ray Cyrus scores legal victory in
- 24:31lawsuit against woman claiming to be Miley's mom. Billy Ray
- 24:35Cyrus has officially put an end to a bizarre and
- 24:37distressing lawsuit filed by a woman who claims she is
- 24:40Miley cyrus biological mother. According to newly filed legal documents,
- 24:45a Tennessee judge dismissed the case. With prejudice on Friday,
- 24:48meaning it cannot be refiled. The court also ordered that
- 24:52Cyrus is entitled to recover his legal fees. The woman,
- 24:56Jame Lee, filed suit earlier this year, alleging that she
- 24:59go birth to Miley just twelve years old and entered
- 25:03into a so called private adoption agreement with Billy Ray
- 25:05and his ex wife, Tish Cyrus. She claimed the agreement
- 25:09included naming rights for Miley, plus a role as her
- 25:12nanny and piano teacher. According to her filing, the Cyrus
- 25:15family cut off contact after the alleged adoption, which she
- 25:19says caused her severe emotional distress. Lee accused the couple
- 25:24of fraud, misrepresentation, breach of contract, and interference with parental rights.
- 25:29She also requested supervised DNA testing to establish maternity and paternity.
- 25:35Billy Ray, now sixty four, responded by calling the claims
- 25:38false and absurd and filed emotion in November to have
- 25:41the case dismissed, arguing the suit was intended to harass
- 25:44him and his family. On December fifth, the judge ruled
- 25:48in Billy Ray's favor, dismissing the case permanently in awarding
- 25:52him the right to recover reasonable and necessary legal fees.
- 25:56Billy Ray and Tish were married for twenty eight years
- 25:58before divorcing in twenty twenty two. They share three children, Miley,
- 26:02who's thirty three, Brazen thirty one, and Noah twenty five.
- 26:06Billy Ray also adopted Tisha's two children from a previous relationship,
- 26:10Brandy and Trace. Billy Ray and Miley have reportedly been
- 26:14estranged in recent years. Still, he recently congratulated her on
- 26:18her engagement to musician Max Mirando, the sign that the
- 26:21father daughter relationship may be on the men. With this
- 26:24legal chapter now closed, Cyrus can turn the page on
- 26:27a case the court ultimately deemed to be without merit,
- 26:31and finally we move over to the book dot com
- 26:34with the article dated December eighth, The Zach Brown Band
- 26:37Spectacle at the Sphere turns heads and ties directly into
- 26:41themes of love and fear. Zach Brown Band is bringing
- 26:46the heat to the Sphere in Las Vegas. The group
- 26:48kicked off a limited engagement run at the Sphere in
- 26:51support of their new album Love and Fear on Friday,
- 26:53and have already made waves with the show's powerful imagery.
- 26:57Frontman Zach Brown previously explained that the the album and
- 27:00subsequent Sphere shows would detail the story of his life
- 27:04that he has never shared, a journey through my imagination,
- 27:07music and stories that have to find who I am.
- 27:11That journey took attendees on a wild ride and even
- 27:13ruffled a few feathers, with some spectators describing the use
- 27:17of a fiery skeleton wearing an apparent crown of thorns
- 27:20as demonic. Though the skeletal imagery is only present for
- 27:24a moment in a promotional reel for the show, its
- 27:27use made sense in the context of the accompanying song Animal,
- 27:30which contains lyrics such as flesh and blood and bone
- 27:32and rage, will tear till nothing's left, fires my spirit
- 27:36and the earth. It's my flesh over all. The acutely
- 27:39choreographed visuals chosen for the Sphere performance are a nod
- 27:43to love and fear and what Brown has described in
- 27:45a statement as the duality we all carry. Love and
- 27:48fear push us. Love and fear push us yes, challenge us,
- 27:52and shape who we become. These songs reflect the highs,
- 27:55the lows, and everything in between. He added about the
- 27:57new project's messaging love and fear, the group's eighth studio album,
- 28:02includes a wealth of sonics that delve deep into all
- 28:04facets of Brown and the group's influences, spanning rock, country, gospel,
- 28:08and more. Along for the Ride or stand out feature
- 28:11artists such as Marcus King, Snoop Dogg, and Dolly Parton
- 28:15or each featured respectively on the album's tracks. Zach Brown
- 28:18Band will continue their run at the Sphere with sold
- 28:20out performances December twelfth and thirteenth, as well as shows
- 28:24in the new year on January ninetheenth, sixteenth, and seventeenth.
