Hi everyone, Ryan from the Specialty Much podcast.
• 0:02
Just a quick PSA for Ben Barbante before we post this
• 0:06
week's episode. A friend of ours in the Matcha
• 0:09
community, Jules Reyes, is searching for her father-in-law,
• 0:12
Ben Barbante. A Ben is a 62 year old Filipino
• 0:15
American from San Francisco and he was last seen in October
• 0:18
hiking the Camino Trail in Spain.
• 0:21
According to his travel plans, his family believes he then
• 0:23
traveled to Thailand in November 2025 and their search is
• 0:27
currently focused on Rayleigh Beach again in November 2025.
• 0:31
Ben lived in adventurous nomadic lifestyle, so it wasn't unusual
• 0:35
for him to travel for months on end without checking in, but
• 0:38
it's been long enough that it's raised some alarm bells.
• 0:41
One of the more unique things about him is that he's typically
• 0:44
traveling with a ukulele. I've left Jules contact
• 0:47
information in the episode description, so if you have any
• 0:51
experience with filing a missing person report in Thailand or
• 0:54
have any connection to Thai authorities, that would mean a
• 0:57
  lot right now. Thanks.
