- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: I've never had never recorded in Canada before.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: I have to consult my pastors on how to go about that.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: How do we get the Canadians over here?
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, I mean, yeah, if there are one of them in the Calgary Alberta area, okay, position, and then the other ones in Greater Toronto area.

- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's not heresy if you believe it hard enough.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: This is, don't forget to eat your instant grams and remember kids.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's not heresy if you believe it hard enough.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's how it works.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: My friends Jack today.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my goodness.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Today is going to be an adventure.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a journey.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to walk through some things together today.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just put it that way.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: First one.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to hit you with the light one first.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: This one was sent to us by listener Patrick Patrick is a huge support of the program.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: always sending us, always making sure that we're up to date on the goings on in the greater Christian zeitgeist.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: And he sent us this real and I'm just gonna let you guys enjoy it as as as I have.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_03]: You're gonna fry some chicken, you're gonna need some, you're gonna fry some vegetables, you're gonna need some, you're gonna fry some bacon, you need some,
- 4:48[SPEAKER_03]: I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I
- 4:59[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god, this is the most southern thing I've ever heard of in my life.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: It was the kind of room.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, this is amazing.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I mean, there's not much for the visual, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: and make it a sermon illustration.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what?
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like she was trying to do the Thanksgiving day.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oh yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: Greens tomato.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: I want a shirt that says that be like bacon, baby.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my goodness gracious that is hilarious.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: I love this video.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Patrick.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: You're a real one for this.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Jack, I'm going to take you, I'm going to take you complete opposite end of the spectrum here.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, although it could still involve oil here and there.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: You'll be all understand what I mean.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: This might be the first viewer discretion advised warning.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: I've ever given on this podcast, okay?
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's it's a Christian like it's a Christian podcast, but these guys are obviously
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, you know, getting into some serious stuff here.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: If you've got, if you've got little's around, you know, just just be prepared for some conversations, but there's, there's no profanity or anything like that.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it's the, the subject matter is somewhat sensitive.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to, I experience this today.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: So you now you have to is where we're at.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: The first ship music during sex is not something to do.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's not something to do.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's an unhealthy connection.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: Unhealthy connection.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's an okay.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because when I sing, when I sing that song on Sunday, I don't want to be thinking about us and you down.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: You want to talk about having the wrong spirit in worship.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the reason a lot of people probably get a focus in worship on Sunday is because they too visited during the week Boston down what they recommend to say you got to let like turn worship on I have had that recommendation before Wow, I think I think that's the game.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't you want to talk about something.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's the devil.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's that That's because you messed it up the floor and the BPMs don't even work
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: I promise you they don't wait, so there's like Christian R&B now.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's what the end of me is.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's somebody question first first of who is doing this why I want to who is doing There is no movement is you know looking for some you know some some some good and biblical Connection with your husband and her your wife and you're like hey, hey, baby She didn't change just dropped a new thing
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'm turning on Marvin Gaye before I turn on Shane Shane.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be honest, okay.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: No way, no way, the side of heaven.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing that.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: Gives he will hold me fast to hold me mean doesn't it?
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: No, just Why you got to do that to me man?
- 9:01[SPEAKER_02]: Wow We went from G to like almost PG 13 borderline R in like 0 to 60 seconds
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my rear end today.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's why not the one on the gate with this segment.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, here's the thing.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with this.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I actually do.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: If you who is doing this, that this needs to be part of the conversation, y'all, who don't be brought this up?
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Who brought this up?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's like this.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'll be real talk here.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: Real talk, and then we'll get into our topic.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: I read this, like obviously, you know, like sorting through like pre-marital, like books and things like that, you know, looking for some advice and, you know, things like that, and I came across one dude when I was, when I was, before I was married, literally suggested, you know, every time before, you know, you and your wife, you know, enjoy the benefits of being married,
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: say a prayer together and and and think and think think Jesus for being there with you and oh no you can't know you can't know I'm not doing that you can't do this man I'm telling you like you can't hear you can't you can't you can't infuse you know this yeah obviously yeah anyway if you're doing this do you gotta stop yeah please stop that anyway jack my friend
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: If that was not ridiculous enough, if that, if that opinion, right, of marriage and the marital relationship was not wacky and crazy enough.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: wait until we get into our topic today.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll say the springboard into our topic today.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: And that is some of the crazy stuff that has been going on within the quote unquote.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I use that term very intentionally.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: quote unquote, reformed world, regarding all of this.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, it's coming from a very particular camp.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's coming from the Christian Nationalist camp.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I would say the,
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: the the new young restless and reformed guys right and the topic this this week that they decided to rail against was interracial marriage and how you know Christians it's not it's not God's design for men and women of different ethnicities of different races to be joining together
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: you know, mixed race children.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: I went so far as we saw just recently, good old, good old portrait and a pear tree.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: My God.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: Who is Mary to a Mexican woman?
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: Put up on Twitter, although I love my wife, we understand that our marriage is not ideal.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: It is not ideal, the man said.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Partridge is definitely listening to worship music while they are, you know, it's like a hundred percent.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, here's the topic for today is not going to be specifically this topic because I think that there, it's it's it's such an idiotic stance.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll say this.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: Some stances and some,
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: positions.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think require some very intentional and very thought-out responses time to be taken to put into them in order to re-rebuke debunk, reprove whatever it is that that topic is, right?
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: I am of the belief that there are just some times and some topics with some people.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: that all honestly needs to be said is that is dumb and you're dumb for thinking that and you're dumb for and because and and this is one of those topics that stance how you get very theologically is just it's so idiotic and it is so full of gross isegesis
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: politically motivated, prideful, misunderstanding of marriage, misunderstanding of what it means to be made in God's image, misunderstanding of gospel unity, of not showing preference to one another, right?
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much here that's so obvious that I do not believe that it warrants the pearls being thrown at it.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Before we move on, would you agree with that?
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Or, or, or do you think I'm, or do you think I'm off base here?
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: No, I don't think you're off base.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's just, I think what's happening is that our country is getting so.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: Our discourse, you could say, our political discourse in this country is just getting so wacky.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: that every time somebody goes out of the realm of speaking into things, there's a vacuum.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: And right now there was a vacuum, I think, when more politically conservative leaning people, listen to Charlie Kirk, and when he died, I mean, it feels like now it's just
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: a bunch of Neo Nazis, just trying to compete against each other and talk over each other.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: So, um, yeah, it's, it's concerning.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's really concerning, especially, too, when.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: a lot of these speakers try to co-opt Christians and a lot of people who say that their Christians are saying stuff like this to begin with.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: Because it makes me think like, okay, where were like, why is this important to the gospel again?
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like why are we talking, like first of all, you need to repent to that.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: Secondly, like why are we even talking about this, right?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: So it's just, I think people are becoming bored.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think people are becoming bored with a lot of things.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we're just focusing too much inwardly on America so much that we're getting to the point where it's just all about us how can we be so pure so to say that we get to this, you know, pure point and I just think that
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why discourse has led us here other than when you take out certain people who have been the typical go-to's in commentary and a political thought of a certain persuasion.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like this is what we get.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: We get crazy people talking about how
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we're Josh and I come from two on this is a part of this.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: plays into, which Josh and I talked a little bit about before we did this episode.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: Is that a lot of crazy stuff in our culture when it comes to reformed or political, I don't know, just like conversations, is that the younger guys, I think I don't know, like first of all, I think the question that Josh and I think of is like, where these guys
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: first of all.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_02]: Or secondly, why do they not want to submit to their elders in the teaching of their church?
- 17:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: Um, because I think a lot of this has to play into that maybe or just maybe they're in maybe they're in a crazy church that believes us.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, there could be one of many things going on here.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think there is, I mean, obviously, there's, if you remove like a lot of the talking heads and a lot of the points, right, if you remove the context of American, put it in a different country, it would look different, right?
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: And it wouldn't, I don't think it would be as, as, as voracious as it is, because honestly, like it's, we, we have a problem here in the states of,
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: raising the culture and the context that we are in and filtering the truth of Scripture through our context instead of the context that we are in through Scripture.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: And that's been a, that's been a problem since, you know, since forever ago, right?
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's the same issue.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's guys who don't have the discernment or wisdom to be able to look at the context that they're in and say, look, there's truths about the gospel and about Scripture that's going to be true whether I'm in America or I'm in Communist China, right?
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: You take a Joel Webin or a Dale Partridge and you put them in Communist China and have them grow up there.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to look different, right?
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: Because it requires that you look different, but the truth of Scripture remains the same.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: It remains unchangeable because God is unchangeable.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: And we have risen conservatism.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: to the level of Christianity, and we are equating the two, and that's a problem.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: Whether they realize they are or not, that's what they're doing, right?
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now, and you can see how these dominoes line up and you can connect to these dots, right?
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a major issue going on in the more conservative theological camps right now, because, again, let's remember this.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: reformed theological camps that we run in, they are still very small.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's very small ponds.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: So when someone gets a level of platform and a level of voice, right?
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: And their megaphone gets turned up a little bit, it feels so much bigger than it actually is, right?
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: It feels massive, right?
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: Look,
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: the church in Iran is not dealing with American Christian nationalism issues.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: The church in China isn't dealing with this, right?
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: The church in Russia isn't dealing with this.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's us, it's us, because in all honesty, we don't have enough to keep our, well, that's not true.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: We do.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: We just don't, we don't want to.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: To keep our attention.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: The I think the skill and I would say the virtue of minding your own business and working with your hands and your own local church is by and large lost in American culture today.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: We need a crusade.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: We need something bigger because we're not satisfied and content with the field that the Lord has given us to tend.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a problem.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: And you see these pastors
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: Falling for this.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's just nonsense too.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean the the fact that we are going to be talking about
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: really a subject that's just ridiculous to say that interracial marriage is a sin now and and to to make that a talking point right now it's like yeah what and again they screwed around that because they're like well we never said it was a sin we said it wasn't the ideal wasn't part of the design right and and again it's just even that even that makes no sense it just doesn't i'm so you are interpreting scripture through your american
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: understanding.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: That is what you are doing, right?
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the thing that I really want to I really want to focus on, right?
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because they are very loud, obnoxiously loud, you can see intent and strategy behind how these guys move and how they weaponize the message that they are spewing.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: And it's targeted.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: to a very specific group of people.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think for a very specific purpose, just like all, just like all, unbiblical movements, cults, everything that falls under that is trying to gain steam and gain them a movement, they go for the young men.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: That is what they go for, right?
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because young men have a lot of zeal,
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: and young men by and large do not have the age and the wisdom and the discernment to discern the right from almost right.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of what these guys say sounds almost right.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: They mix a lot of truth and a lot of biblical jargon and narrative.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: into the message that they are propagating, but if you take time to listen and sort that through and compare that with the pages of Scripture, you're going to see that it does not line up.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: And by and large, there's a lot of young men that don't have the discernment or the ability
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: to do this.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: So these guys, you know, small pawn, though it may be, they are coming for your sons.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: They are coming for your daughters.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're coming for your children because they they aren't able to influence the more seasoned that have been around the block a couple times, that have gone through the young, you know, have gone through the movements that that that rose
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's my honest opinion that these guys are going to be a flash in the pan just like the young restless and reform movement was.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think the damage that we're going to see from it is a lot greater because of the time and the culture that we're in right now.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: add, but I don't think in, you know, in 10 years, these are going to be conversations, much like the young wrestlers and reform movement did.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's just loud and prevalent right now because we're right in the middle of it, right?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's, I think it's riffing off of different, um,
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: Different movements as well too.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think this kind of riffs off of not only like this very Christian white nationalist kind of movement Sure, yep that that is kind of orbiting a lot of politics that yeah is going on right now But also it's ripping off of like the manuscript stuff sure well too.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: Sure So it's there's a lot of different things.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think the thing to to look at I mean from where I stand into coma like I'm literally
- 24:37[SPEAKER_02]: If I drive just about a couple minutes, like I'm right in downtown Tacoma, and the problem that I see that kind of you brought up Josh with the young man thing, it's so prevalent to have cults in the inner cities, because if you think about it, how easy it was to have the nation of
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: certain people, because of basically Christianity, like shooting itself in the foot to a certain degree, like the big thing that Nationa Islam did in inner cities was tell men of color, hey, that Jesus
- 25:17[SPEAKER_02]: you know, God isn't, you know, why Jesus does care about you, stuff like that.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: And basically use that, use the pictures of like white Jesus to basically like come against the church, pretty hard and militarize those guys.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like name your other cults.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: Jokes were nationals, same thing.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: Hebrew, Hebrew lights, same thing.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a bevy of cults that come into the inner cities.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: And just basically wipe out communities of people because they know that they can run on a platform of they don't know Jesus.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: We know Jesus, they don't know Jesus, right?
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just, and I think that's what the church lacks.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_02]: is we lack really a sense of like going and defending that sometimes because we feel that we can retreat and gain and and codify and gain more ground if we just go somewhere else.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: But if this keeps going like this,
- 26:20[SPEAKER_02]: It is not going to be good for local churches.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: If I sniff, if like, you know it's bad, I don't really sniff this out in my local church right now.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see it happening, but I know that probably some guys have access to these dudes and they're talking points.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think where this comes in is like, how can you being a part of a local church?
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: start coming alongside younger men and asking them, hey, you know, what's going on?
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: How are you doing?
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't need to be crazy.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: And I think this is going to be the interesting thing going forward.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think it all out of churches is rooting out the the absolute crap that you hear from the podcast world and having the local church have to filter it out for people.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, 100% agree and I think that's that's the big thing is because I'll I mean, I'm with you.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not seeing
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: the whole Christian nationalist arguments and propaganda in my church either.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I praise the Lord for that, right?
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: If it did arise, we were going to be very quickly, right?
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: But I do know that it is something that a lot of young guys are beginning to engage with, because they're doing, I mean, they're marketing is great, right?
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: Again, like it's a classic example of, you know, who is one of the best to do it,
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: He saw a void and that there were a lot of young men not being disabled, a lot of young men who's fathers, either were not in the picture or failed to train them in the scriptures.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: He saw he correctly identified that issue and he used it to gain platform and position.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: and place himself in the position of the one that is going to fill that void.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's what these guys are doing.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: And it's the tail is all this time.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's a grift as long as there's been grifts, right?
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's not new.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: But the response of the church needs to be identifying that and being a louder voice in the lives of your young people than what they're able to find on
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: Instagram Reels, TikTok, and podcasts because there's lots of those, right?
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: If you cannot go to podcasts before you go to your local church elders, you cannot go to TikTok or Instagram Reels for discipleship.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_01]: They aren't your pastors.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: They aren't your authority.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: They aren't the ones that God has placed in your life to
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: be the ones that you go to with these questions, and there's too many individuals that are too quick to throw out the authority of the local church, the authority of their church elders.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: say, well, I mean, they're just, you know, as the classic, uh, the classic, um, accusation goes, they are, you know, weak and gay, right?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: Which is just idiotic.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what are we?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: Middle school, like good gracious guys, get a get a life.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um, because they're being influenced by these louder voices that are telling them just like,
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: Driscoll did, just like, you know, Doug Wilson does.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: If your pastors aren't doing X, Y, and Z, they aren't faithful like we are.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where we need to be instilling a biblical Ecclesiology into our young people, right?
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: I am very confident that the young folks in our church,
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: If this stuff were to come up and someone were to come up to them and say, your pastors aren't faithful, you need to, you need to, you need to leave that church.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: I have zero doubt that our young people would just take their word, would, would, would take their word for it.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: And, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: I have zero doubt that they wouldn't just take their word for it and move on, right?
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: Are young because our young people have been trained in the scriptures, they've been trained to value the local church, they've been trained to value the leadership of their elders.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: And by and large, there's a lot of churches that aren't doing that for their youth and make no mistake.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: these loud guys on Twitter, these loud guys on Instagram, they want your kids, they want your sons and they want your daughters and they're going to do everything that they can to influence them and bring them into the camp because they know they can and this is where our local churches and our elders need to take great care in being louder voices.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: then what these kids are finding on Instagram, because they're gonna get disciples somewhere.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's disciples buy something.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: And if we take a passive approach to discipleship and our local churches, we're going to lose people to those that are actively seeking to disciple.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's unbiblical discipleship, but it's discipleship nonetheless.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm thankful to that in my local church, we've had several men step up to the plate and create an organic youth group in the sense of like young, young adults group in the sense of like 20 somethings all the way up to like in your 30s.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: Like there's some organic community and fellowship that's happening.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that that's been really, I think impactful in my church is that you can plug in pretty easily to people, which I think that at other churches, it was really hard to do.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and Acts 29 adjacent churches, if you try and even bring up, starting a young adult's group.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, what's that?
- 32:28[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, churches depending upon the church, like our church has a lot of younger married couples with kids and sometimes it is going to be a little bit alienating.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: If you're a single guy trying to look for community, don't have maybe other single guys to fellowship with or
- 32:56[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the married guys are going to be, you know, taking care of their families a lot of the times during the week.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_02]: So not unless you're in a community group with them.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_02]: And so yeah, I'm just thankful that if you have if you are in a local church.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_02]: And if you see younger men.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's easy as just like, hey, can I just start this ministry of just bringing together young adults together and doing stuff?
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's as easy as that, and it doesn't need to be harder complicated.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_02]: I know Josh and I talked about this pretty often in men's ministries where you don't need to complicate it sometimes.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_02]: So if you start doing that, and if you slowly
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: and you're in your young adult's group are being influenced by these guys like gosh, you need to calm to repent because this stuff is not healthy.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's not biblical.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to help them.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to militarize them to a point where they feel like they're part of a bigger thing but it's like you're part of the church.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: You don't need to be a part of this subgroup of the church in order to like be accomplished.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I would say this might, yeah, 100% agree on all that.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I guess last thoughts on this for me would be, I think it's very tempting and I know I'm tempted to.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's very tempting to take the fight to these guys online, to, you know, engage in the debates, engage in the, the back and forths.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm honestly convinced at this point that it's not, it is the epitome of pearls before swine, because one of two things, either they are so entrenched in and ingrained in their position that honestly it's going to take God to break them in order for them to see the error of their ways.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: And there are like, when sin is left unconfronted,
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: that's what happens.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: Our hearts become so callous that it truly does take an act of God to break and bring them low.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: So they see the error their ways and repent and come back to a correct.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: I would say understanding of the gospel.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's either that or they know what they're doing, it's a grift and no amount of interaction is going to convince them otherwise because it's getting them what they want, it's getting them attention, it's getting them influence, it's getting them position, which it equals money, right?
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I would say this.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: This is the challenge that I'm giving myself and that I would give to our listeners as well.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: And anyone that is concerned as we are with these guys,
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: Take the energy that you would otherwise engage with these guys, and interact with these guys on Twitter, or anywhere else, take that energy, and use it to invest in the young people in your church.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: Because the interactions online is not going to do any good.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: You are taking the pearls that God has given you, the energy that He's given you, the desire for truth, that He has given you, and you're throwing them to pigs that are trampling them, they don't care about them.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_01]: Take that desire to want to say something, right?
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: And translate that.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let's move the needle.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: Let's move the target.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of dropping the reply or whatever it is that feels good in the moment, but honestly after you do it, it feels empty, let's take that energy and invest in the local church, invest in the young folks that honestly need people coming alongside them because whether it's Christian nationalism or not, our young folks should deal with a lot of junk.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: They're dealing with things that we've never had to do, that we, Jack and I haven't had to deal with when we were there, age.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: And they need men and women to come alongside them and say, hey, I'm here for you.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: I love you.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: Let me walk with you through the things that you're going through.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: That would be such a greater use of our time and our efforts and our energy.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: and the fulfillment and joy that you will gain from that is so much more than you'll gain from trying to change the minds of these men who just they don't want to change.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they don't want, and that's evident at this point.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're dealing with unrepentant individuals,
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: interaction is going to change them because they are there authority.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: So let's take that energy.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: And let's put it into the church.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: Let's invest in these young men and women who are being targeted by these individuals.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think that would be a much greater use of our time and a much more fulfilling use of our time.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a challenge I'm giving to myself and that I would extend to our listeners as well.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: Jack, would you add anything to that before we close?
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: No, just, I mean, I mean, look, look inside your local church and start to realize that there are younger men, if you're a man, there are younger men that need to be disabled and need to be fellowshiped with and need friendship, they're young women that need the same.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would say, look, take a look at your local church.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_02]: I think that that's the biggest thing, is that, you know, when you see a young guy come in the church, like, you're a young gal who comes in the church.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: We just had a younger gal come in the church and thankfully like we had two couples talk to her and stuff like that and she's trying to move from Seattle to Tacoma and she's at a church that we know of as well too up there, but it's just like trying to
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: just get a get a good relationship started to know that, hey, you're welcome here to get disciples and get fed and to have fellowship here and not just be like a number in the crowd, because sometimes I think that's more prevalent than people give way to, but yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: Love that, invest in your church, invest in the young folks.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: You will find such value and joy in doing so.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: The social media stuff just leaves you feeling hollow.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's not worth it.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's not worth it.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Don't do it.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: Jack, my friend, why don't you get us out of here?
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_02]: Folks, if you appreciate Josh and I is endeavors to make the local church center of the believers life, no matter how stupid of the situations we find ourselves in, in our time, during our moment in time, or our moment in culture, you can follow us and engage with us on the sociables, if you will.
