- 0:17Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Whatever you want to talk about Wednesday, eight seven, seven
- 0:23Speaker 1: ninety nine on Fox.
- 0:24Speaker 3: That is eight seven, seven ninety.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Nine on Fox. We'll get to the Knicks. Joel Embiid
- 0:29Speaker 1: is out for Game two. The Lakers lebron gave a
- 0:33Speaker 1: strong effort last night and they still lost by eighteen
- 0:36Speaker 1: to Oklahoma City. We'll get to that in just a
- 0:39Speaker 1: second as well. But there's a big soccer match. I
- 0:44Speaker 1: know this because I heard it on my way in
- 0:47Speaker 1: and bordot Riccardo has his soccer jersey on. There's aggregate.
- 0:52Speaker 1: One of the teams is leading five to four headed
- 0:54Speaker 1: into the game. We're stealing ideas from soccer and we're
- 0:57Speaker 1: implementing them into US sports. What is the big soccer
- 1:01Speaker 1: match today, Taylor?
- 1:02Speaker 4: It's a Champions League semifinal Paris Saint Jerma and Bayern Munich.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Ah PSG.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Nailed that.
- 1:14Speaker 1: What is going on with Chris Simms, who is in London.
- 1:18Speaker 1: He is traveling, he's on vacation. Sims at this soccer game?
- 1:22Speaker 1: Is that where he's at?
- 1:23Speaker 4: So Sims was at the Arsenal the other semifinal match yesterday,
- 1:27Speaker 4: Arsenal at Lettico Madrid, and Sims was in some kind
- 1:31Speaker 4: of suite at Arsenal at the Emirates, and he was
- 1:35Speaker 4: in a full suit at this suite. Like, sim stop
- 1:38Speaker 4: taking yourself so serious and drop the suit.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Look, buddy, wait, you were just at his house. You're
- 1:43Speaker 1: friends with the family. Now Phil loves you, and now
- 1:46Speaker 1: you're taking shots at Chris.
- 1:48Speaker 3: What do you do? It's a dangerous game, man, be careful.
- 1:50Speaker 3: He where's a suit?
- 1:51Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:51Speaker 4: But Si, me and Sims have like this older brother
- 1:54Speaker 4: younger brother relationship where he wants absolutely nothing to do
- 1:57Speaker 4: with me as the older brother, And sometimes I gotta
- 2:02Speaker 4: give him the banter. Like sometimes during football night in America,
- 2:06Speaker 4: he would wear like a mister Roger sweatshirt. I'm like, Sims, man,
- 2:09Speaker 4: you're pretty cool, but that sweatshirt is doing you no favors.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I don't care that he's on vacation. Get him on
- 2:16Speaker 1: the show, Okay, just see if he wants to join us.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I care, well, I don't care if he cares. Just
- 2:22Speaker 1: ask him if he could join.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Us and talk some soccer.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Also, this sweet he was in. Yes, it was a
- 2:26Speaker 4: Who's Who. Yes, Bendict Cumberbat.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Wait, hold on, this is why I want to talk
- 2:30Speaker 1: to him. Is he will now understand why I don't
- 2:32Speaker 1: care it is that he's on vacation. Give us the
- 2:35Speaker 1: rest of the names in that suite.
- 2:36Speaker 4: It was Benedict Cumberbatch and Sean mcvett.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Jawge's drop.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean Benedict Cumberbatch. A little surprised that one was.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I don't know who that is.
- 2:52Speaker 7: I don't know if it's a Who's Who, it's a
- 2:53Speaker 7: it's a who.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Oh at McVeigh right right, that's how sim rolls, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: he rolls wearing a suit. Listen, when you're going to
- 3:04Speaker 1: an event in which you're gonna see very little scoring,
- 3:06Speaker 1: you got to dress.
- 3:07Speaker 7: Up for it.
- 3:08Speaker 3: It's a roller by Taylor.
- 3:09Speaker 4: I believe he was in an owner's box too, and
- 3:11Speaker 4: that's why he was wearing the suit.
- 3:13Speaker 8: Wait a second, So you're going on this so you're
- 3:16Speaker 8: going to an old like Chicago Bears, New England Patriots
- 3:20Speaker 8: game in like the mid nineteen eighties, everybody's dressed in
- 3:24Speaker 8: the suit and tie.
- 3:25Speaker 7: Yeah you're expecting low scoring.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yes, dick a sweater with a shirt at its high underneath.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I mean, imagine if Hallis was coaching that team. I mean,
- 3:34Speaker 1: I mean, he'd be dressed with a ninth parent.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Yes, Mikey Jack tel Rio wanted to wear a suit
- 3:39Speaker 4: on every game, probably because he knew he wasn't going
- 3:42Speaker 4: to score the Jaguars.
- 3:43Speaker 6: Is that why pat Riley dressed so well? Because it
- 3:45Speaker 6: was all low scoring in his mind? Yes, yes, it
- 3:48Speaker 6: all makes sense.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Dress for success, I.
- 3:50Speaker 7: Mean low scoring success.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 1: But defense was success for Riley back then, right, Yeah,
- 3:57Speaker 1: I mean, I guess the game has changed. Let's play this. Uh,
- 4:00Speaker 1: we had weekend observations. We did it on the podcast
- 4:03Speaker 1: on Monday. I'm not getting enough credit around here. No
- 4:06Speaker 1: one is locked into these NBA playoffs more than me. Nobody.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I sixers down three to one to the Celtics. Is
- 4:13Speaker 1: he is so mad at me?
- 4:14Speaker 7: He was supposed to give you the credit. I mean,
- 4:15Speaker 7: names on the show, you get all the credit.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I mean, listen, you know Taylor likes to send out
- 4:19Speaker 1: clips of Taylor again.
- 4:21Speaker 7: Yes, you go, that's your fault. You gave him control
- 4:23Speaker 7: of your socials.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Holl onf PSG scored early yep, wow, two minutes into
- 4:27Speaker 1: this game.
- 4:27Speaker 3: So it's six four or five five six four on aggregate?
- 4:30Speaker 7: Wow?
- 4:30Speaker 3: You like how I knew that?
- 4:31Speaker 4: Huh yeah, I mean you just add one goal.
- 4:36Speaker 1: So, like I was saying, I'm not getting enough credit
- 4:38Speaker 1: around here, one goal because no one is glued and
- 4:43Speaker 1: locked into these NBA playoffs, like I am not. Is
- 4:46Speaker 1: he not Steven A Smith, not Frank is Sola? Nobody?
- 4:51Speaker 1: Sixers down three to one to the Celtics. No one
- 4:53Speaker 1: gave him a shot. I said the Sixers would win
- 4:56Speaker 1: that series. And b comes back and he's healthy and
- 4:59Speaker 1: he's playing great. And then on Monday we did the
- 5:02Speaker 1: wee Can Observations and I said this about joe El embiid,
- 5:08Speaker 1: Joel embiid get some new material? Is he You know
- 5:12Speaker 1: what the e and embiid stands for. No, it stands
- 5:15Speaker 1: for everyone knows. You'll be hurt by game three. Anyway,
- 5:22Speaker 1: why I'm locked in?
- 5:24Speaker 6: Did you record that off of a radio inside of
- 5:27Speaker 6: a car and then replay it for us?
- 5:29Speaker 7: What was that.
- 5:30Speaker 9: Sound from a flip phone?
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yes, I was underwater.
- 5:33Speaker 7: Listen.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I don't know how that sounds sent. I'm playing it
- 5:37Speaker 4: on my phone right now, and it sounds completely normal.
- 5:41Speaker 6: That's exactly what I remember talk radio is sounding like
- 5:44Speaker 6: in nineteen ninety one.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Yes, is that Iowa Sam being the d boy yet again?
- 5:48Speaker 1: I mean defense against an offense?
- 5:54Speaker 10: So yeah, quality sounded like he was fifteen years old.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Sounds good on Taylor's phone, though, I.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Should I play it for my phone?
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yeah? Yes, do it?
- 6:05Speaker 7: Do it from your phone on the on the my
- 6:07Speaker 7: trail sounds great.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Busy. You know what the E and embeid stands for.
- 6:13Speaker 1: It stands for everyone knows you'll be hurt by game
- 6:15Speaker 1: three anyway.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Nailed it now, but still good.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I was Sam. Let's hear yours again? Please, if you
- 6:22Speaker 1: don't mind, just one more time, give.
- 6:25Speaker 9: Some new material.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Izzy. You know what the E and embeid stands for.
- 6:31Speaker 11: It stands for everyone knows you'll be hurt.
- 6:33Speaker 3: By game three?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Anyway?
- 6:36Speaker 9: Is he on a car phone?
- 6:38Speaker 1: I'm like three car phones and I'm submarine.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Let's go to Izzy from a my goodness.
- 6:46Speaker 4: And here comes Red Grange down the sideline.
- 6:49Speaker 3: That guy wears a suit. I mean.
- 6:53Speaker 6: That's like when you send somebody a picture and in
- 6:55Speaker 6: your phone it's glorious, and on their phone it's like
- 6:57Speaker 6: this little one centimeter by one centimeter box.
- 7:00Speaker 7: It's like, oh man, something's wrong with your phone.
- 7:02Speaker 10: I think that's an iPhone to a non iPhone transaction.
- 7:06Speaker 7: Do we know the problem?
- 7:08Speaker 1: So, Izzy, the Knicks have Game two tonight at Madison
- 7:11Speaker 1: Square Garden. I love Game twos because you're going to
- 7:14Speaker 1: see the teams.
- 7:15Speaker 3: That are desperate.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Tonight, Philadelphia is still without EMBIID is going to be
- 7:19Speaker 1: a very desperate team. I imagine that game is going
- 7:21Speaker 1: to be a lot closer than Game one was. And
- 7:24Speaker 1: then you have San Antonio later on, also a desperate
- 7:27Speaker 1: team because.
- 7:27Speaker 3: They need to get a victory here. They don't want
- 7:29Speaker 3: to go down too.
- 7:30Speaker 7: Why are you laughing?
- 7:31Speaker 3: We're finally talking NBA.
- 7:32Speaker 12: Playoffs for you cracking up because you say I love
- 7:36Speaker 12: Game twos, and I was like, this is something I
- 7:38Speaker 12: didn't know about. I love a game, so I wanted
- 7:41Speaker 12: to go grab a pen right about that down, which
- 7:43Speaker 12: is another STU Gods move, and I don't have a pen,
- 7:45Speaker 12: and both of those things just made me laugh to
- 7:48Speaker 12: I have.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Your pen, it's right here. But I do love Game twos. Dealers, well,
- 7:53Speaker 1: we tend to get carried away in these series. We
- 7:55Speaker 1: discussed this a little bit yesterday, where the Knicks win
- 7:58Speaker 1: big in Game one and we think our Like I
- 8:01Speaker 1: told Taylor today, I'm terrified of the Pistons and I
- 8:05Speaker 1: shouldn't be thinking about the Eastern Conference finals because we're
- 8:08Speaker 1: not done with Philadelphia yet. And so you have these
- 8:10Speaker 1: teams who are desperate. They don't want to go down
- 8:12Speaker 1: oh two, especially the Spurs. That's going to be interesting
- 8:16Speaker 1: because you can't go down two headed back to Minnesota.
- 8:20Speaker 1: But this is going to be interesting tonight. I do
- 8:22Speaker 1: think the Sixers will keep it very close and hopefully
- 8:25Speaker 1: the next will win.
- 8:26Speaker 4: I'm with Izzy here though, on you saying you love
- 8:28Speaker 4: Game two. It's not game rank games one through seven
- 8:32Speaker 4: right now.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Okay, Game two best two words in sports.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Come on, seven's gotta be won.
- 8:38Speaker 7: We will go seven as number one.
- 8:40Speaker 3: So game seven, that's the Andy Petnitt game.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Game two, Yes, yeah, thank you, it's a big game.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Game two is an underrated game, I'm telling you. But
- 8:48Speaker 3: how under it in terms of importance? Well, the series,
- 8:51Speaker 3: both series could.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Be over tonight. I mean technically, if the Knicks win,
- 8:55Speaker 1: it hasn't started. No, and Minnesota already started. They want
- 8:57Speaker 1: to roun talking through these looks.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Yes, you got so. Game seven is number one on
- 9:02Speaker 3: my list.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Okay, that's how I do it. I just keep talking,
- 9:05Speaker 1: so hopefully someone forgets Mikey. Game seven is number one
- 9:09Speaker 1: on my list.
- 9:10Speaker 7: Okay.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Game two is number two.
- 9:15Speaker 7: Yeah, bigger than Game six.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Much bigger than Game six. All right, Game two sets
- 9:19Speaker 1: the tone for the rest of the series. Okay, it's
- 9:21Speaker 1: a tone center. So Game two is my second favorite.
- 9:26Speaker 3: And then I love and man do I love a
- 9:28Speaker 3: big Game four?
- 9:34Speaker 4: Wow, i'd Game five there?
- 9:35Speaker 3: Really really?
- 9:37Speaker 7: Game four is not really that. Game five classically pivotal,
- 9:40Speaker 7: plastically pivotal.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Yes, some would say it's not so.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Game four was three, Game.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Four is three, Game five is four, Game six is five.
- 9:54Speaker 1: How many games left.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Do I have?
- 9:56Speaker 7: You've got one?
- 9:57Speaker 1: So game one is the least important, least Game three
- 9:59Speaker 1: is the second at least important.
- 10:00Speaker 7: Yes, so we go seven, two, four, five, six three one.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Now then, so game one is the least important.
- 10:07Speaker 4: But there's something that happens from game one to game
- 10:10Speaker 4: two where the series can be designed.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Oh, the whole series could be shifted tonight, I'm telling you.
- 10:14Speaker 4: But it also might not start.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Might be over.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I mean, listen, tell me right now, if the Timberwolves
- 10:22Speaker 1: win tonight, that series isn't over.
- 10:23Speaker 7: It's over, right yeah, and it will have started twice.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Correct now you're getting it. Yes, we're not able.
- 10:31Speaker 7: To read anything today because I'm crying with laughter.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Now. If the Knicks win Game two, the series isn't over.
- 10:40Speaker 1: It just hasn't started yet, right right, But it's close
- 10:43Speaker 1: to being over.
- 10:45Speaker 3: You get what I'm saying.
- 10:46Speaker 6: I think so, I hope so, I hope everybody gets it.
- 10:49Speaker 6: I just know I didn't realize that Game two was
- 10:51Speaker 6: the second most beloved phrase in sports. Yes, it is
- 10:55Speaker 6: funny with Joel embiid. I was actually thinking about this
- 10:57Speaker 6: before I heard him, man, I was before I heard
- 11:01Speaker 6: that he was out.
- 11:02Speaker 7: I think they'd be better off without him in.
- 11:05Speaker 6: A in a not for the series, right, but in
- 11:08Speaker 6: a let's just play free game two right where Okay, yeah,
- 11:14Speaker 6: we need to steal one eventually from New York, but
- 11:16Speaker 6: maybe this isn't the one Joel's not and their defense
- 11:20Speaker 6: just becomes better because they don't have Joel. In a
- 11:23Speaker 6: sort of lazy drop coverage seventy five percent of the time.
- 11:27Speaker 6: And you know, if you tell VJ. Edgecomb, hey, you
- 11:29Speaker 6: got more responsibility. Now we've seen that he can turn
- 11:32Speaker 6: that into a forty burger, and so I think you know,
- 11:35Speaker 6: not to say again, not for the series, but for
- 11:37Speaker 6: this game too, it might have been a slightly better.
- 11:39Speaker 7: Off without doing a game too.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Is he this This game too feels like it's it's
- 11:44Speaker 4: two sides of a coin, where one side is mbats
- 11:47Speaker 4: sitting tonight feels like a punk game two. Let him
- 11:50Speaker 4: beat Rest as much as possible, get him back in Philadelphia.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Series still hasn't started. The other side of that coin,
- 11:57Speaker 4: The TM tyres Maxie stands for a trap game fifty
- 11:59Speaker 4: point game he did to get.
- 12:01Speaker 7: The Celtics right. That was without Embid, and that was
- 12:03Speaker 7: in Boston.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Yeah, this is what I worry about. I mean, I
- 12:07Speaker 1: would rather Embid play at this point. I'm so tired
- 12:11Speaker 1: of that guy with the tickets and don't let Nick
- 12:13Speaker 1: fans buy the tickets at Philadelphia and then you're not
- 12:16Speaker 1: playing by game two, I mean just enough out of
- 12:19Speaker 1: hit a big game two.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Who misses a big game two? I mean nobody?
- 12:23Speaker 7: I mean, you know how big it is.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it was strange how defiant Joel Embiid was with
- 12:29Speaker 4: like the ticket thing in Philadelphia, where he was like,
- 12:32Speaker 4: if you need money, I got you. But we really
- 12:34Speaker 4: haven't gotten any follow ups since then. Like if a
- 12:37Speaker 4: Philadelphia fan had an offer for five hundred dollars to
- 12:40Speaker 4: sell their tickets to a Knicks fan and they chose
- 12:42Speaker 4: not to because Joel Embiid said, I'll just give you
- 12:45Speaker 4: the money instead. Joel Embiid kind of feels like he's
- 12:48Speaker 4: he's liable for that five hundred dollars.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Now, Well, I don't know if he feels like that,
- 12:52Speaker 1: but perhaps an attorney will feel like that.
- 12:55Speaker 7: Carl Douglas, there's just no way the message will get
- 12:58Speaker 7: to him. That's how he'll be free of it. So nobody.
- 13:00Speaker 7: It never actually reached me. It reached my agent, but
- 13:02Speaker 7: it didn't reach me.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Right, If you sell your tickets Philly, I don't blame you.
- 13:06Speaker 1: You were expect you bought him expecting to see Joel Embiid,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and of course he's not going to show up because
- 13:10Speaker 1: he never shows up.
- 13:11Speaker 6: But also, if I was Joel Embid in that moment,
- 13:13Speaker 6: I'd be feeling pretty good about myself. Like, I just
- 13:15Speaker 6: beat the Celtics team that was supposed to, by most
- 13:18Speaker 6: people's measure, make it to the finals. And now we've
- 13:21Speaker 6: got this NIXT team that's, yeah, feeling itself because it
- 13:23Speaker 6: beat the Hawks.
- 13:24Speaker 7: But I think I'd be talking my stuff too if
- 13:26Speaker 7: I was Joel it was.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Their super Bowl.
- 13:28Speaker 1: You're right, I mean, I can't disagree with you on that.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I am terrified of Oklahoma City. And this is what happens, Okay,
- 13:34Speaker 1: when you blow out, you have a big blowout in
- 13:36Speaker 1: game one, you start thinking about the Pistons in the
- 13:38Speaker 1: Eastern Conference Finals, and then you start thinking about, Hey,
- 13:41Speaker 1: what am I doing all this for?
- 13:42Speaker 3: Why am I staying up so late? Why am I
- 13:44Speaker 3: getting so emotional?
- 13:46Speaker 1: Because Lebron James gave you the game that he wanted, Okay,
- 13:49Speaker 1: that you wanted if you're a Laker fan. A great
- 13:51Speaker 1: game last night by Lebron, still lost by eighteen, and
- 13:54Speaker 1: Shay didn't play that well. And so I'm terrified of
- 13:57Speaker 1: Oklahoma City because now I'm thinking about the NBA Finals.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Well, I mean, I mean, this is what it's disappointing, right,
- 14:02Speaker 6: It's disappointing that Luca can't play because this would have
- 14:04Speaker 6: been so much better. It would have been so great
- 14:07Speaker 6: to see Luca ahead of the Snake versus SGA, like
- 14:09Speaker 6: bang bang one versus the other, which one's going to
- 14:12Speaker 6: dominate or which one's gonna come out on top. And
- 14:14Speaker 6: you know, based on that first game, it looked like, yeah,
- 14:17Speaker 6: if Luca was there, the Lakers actually.
- 14:19Speaker 7: Have a chance here.
- 14:19Speaker 6: And again, you know the old David Stern line, I
- 14:22Speaker 6: want to see the Lakers versus the Lakers and the
- 14:24Speaker 6: finals every years.
- 14:25Speaker 7: That's what's best for the NBA.
- 14:27Speaker 6: Like that would have been amazing, but instead it's more
- 14:30Speaker 6: than likely going to be okay. See, I don't know
- 14:32Speaker 6: if you saw this, but Luca talked about his injury
- 14:34Speaker 6: and one of the things he said is that when
- 14:36Speaker 6: he first got checked out, the doctor said, yeah, eight weeks,
- 14:39Speaker 6: and so this would be five weeks.
- 14:41Speaker 7: And so it's not looking good.
- 14:42Speaker 6: Like if he plays late in this series, it's going
- 14:45Speaker 6: to be probably you know, with a shot in his
- 14:48Speaker 6: hammy and not feeling much of anything and really won't
- 14:51Speaker 6: be able to play for much longer.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Stull, you're seeing the problem with this Thunder team in
- 14:55Speaker 4: terms of going forward in the NBA, where they've collected
- 14:58Speaker 4: so many assets that when they're in their championship window
- 15:02Speaker 4: very clearly right now, they could very easily flip a
- 15:06Speaker 4: first round pick for somebody who who is a surplus
- 15:10Speaker 4: on another team and becomes a luxury for them. Like
- 15:14Speaker 4: they got Jared McCain to be, what is he their
- 15:17Speaker 4: tenth eleventh guy on their bench, and Jared McCain can
- 15:20Speaker 4: come in and score double digit points on almost any
- 15:23Speaker 4: given night. When when he was on the Sixers before
- 15:26Speaker 4: he got that injury, Jared McCain looked like he could
- 15:28Speaker 4: have been the rookie of the year.
- 15:29Speaker 6: They have so many quality players that they can adjust
- 15:33Speaker 6: the rotation on any given night and it won't lose
- 15:35Speaker 6: much of anything. Like the guys will step in and
- 15:37Speaker 6: do whatever's needed of them. But to your point, it
- 15:40Speaker 6: does sort of make me feel like there's something that
- 15:44Speaker 6: can happen this postseason that can quote unquote like I'm
- 15:47Speaker 6: being hyperbolic here, but save the NBA at least as
- 15:50Speaker 6: far as not being back to back years for OKC
- 15:55Speaker 6: and maybe not being Wemby's, you know, start of the
- 15:58Speaker 6: dominance that people are gonna get bored with. There's a
- 16:01Speaker 6: little something that I think can happen this year that
- 16:03Speaker 6: might change all that, but I don't want to talk
- 16:05Speaker 6: about that yet.
- 16:06Speaker 7: We gotta go to break.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Really, that's what we call tea's in the business.
- 16:08Speaker 3: It's a great teas. Unfortunately, we have a graduation speech
- 16:11Speaker 3: for playing next.
- 16:12Speaker 7: Oh really yeah, Well, sometime in the show you'll get
- 16:15Speaker 7: my answer.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Okay, it's the rare teas in the first segment, for
- 16:17Speaker 1: the last segment of the first hour.
- 16:19Speaker 3: How about that? All right? You give it that, Chess Chess.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
- 16:27Speaker 2: Live whek D said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific
- 16:31Speaker 2: on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
- 16:35Speaker 6: For over forty years, tire Rack has been helping customers
- 16:38Speaker 6: find the right tires for how, what and where they drive,
- 16:40Speaker 6: shipped fast and freeback by free road hazard protection, with
- 16:43Speaker 6: convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, tire rack dot
- 16:46Speaker 6: Com the way tire buying should be. It's time for
- 16:48Speaker 6: our tire Rack Play of the Day courtesy of ninety
- 16:51Speaker 6: seven point one the Ticket, the Pistons Radio Network.
- 16:53Speaker 13: Kate against Truce on the right wing, k to the
- 16:57Speaker 13: basket jumps it off for JD another jam, Yes Baby, Hey,
- 17:02Speaker 13: that combination has been so good for so long for
- 17:06Speaker 13: the Pistons.
- 17:07Speaker 7: Jav Bickerstaf says, don't shoot it.
- 17:09Speaker 4: I would have.
- 17:12Speaker 13: And eighteen to eight clothes for the Pistons. After the
- 17:17Speaker 13: Cleveland Cavaliers had tied the score at ninety three, with
- 17:23Speaker 13: five and twenty eight to go in the game.
- 17:26Speaker 6: I would argue to play the day was the star
- 17:28Speaker 6: Thompson's chase down block. But who am I to argue
- 17:30Speaker 6: with Ti Rag And now.
- 17:32Speaker 1: They have, of course, a pivotal game two coming up tomorrow, yute.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I mean, you can't lose that one if you're the Cavs.
- 17:39Speaker 1: James Harden, please, he's so bad.
- 17:42Speaker 3: How many turnovers for Harden last night?
- 17:44Speaker 9: Eight?
- 17:45Speaker 3: I think it was eight. He's terrible.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I marvel before we get to Dan Byer in a
- 17:49Speaker 1: graduation speech that I did. I marvel. We have guest
- 17:53Speaker 1: bookers here, and I always marvel at who Taylor is
- 17:57Speaker 1: going to say yes to and who he's going to
- 17:59Speaker 1: say no to, because I really left it up to Taylor.
- 18:01Speaker 1: At this point, Bob Chesney is going to join us
- 18:04Speaker 1: at four thirty today, the UCLA head coach, and the
- 18:07Speaker 1: timing is good football, yes, because of the expanded Well,
- 18:10Speaker 1: we all know mc cronin as a basketball coach.
- 18:13Speaker 7: Well, I was just thinking of any sports it's in season.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Yes, well, the timing's good because of the expanded college
- 18:18Speaker 1: football playoff that's being proposed. But I am wondering why
- 18:22Speaker 1: you were so quick to respond yes to Bob Chesney.
- 18:26Speaker 4: So in sports, sometimes a line in the sand is
- 18:29Speaker 4: drawn and you have to pick a side. We clearly
- 18:33Speaker 4: have to pick a side in the battle for La
- 18:35Speaker 4: Ucla versus USC and this show. I will not allow
- 18:40Speaker 4: this show to be a pro Lincoln Riley show. That
- 18:44Speaker 4: fraud over there in Lincoln Riley. The twenty four team
- 18:47Speaker 4: playoff was made for Lincoln Riley, Yes it was.
- 18:51Speaker 3: He's the one pushing for it because he's never in it.
- 18:53Speaker 6: So I did not know I would have to be
- 18:54Speaker 6: picking a side in this line in the sand today,
- 18:57Speaker 6: But I guess it's chosen for me, right, We're all brilliant.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Okay, thike you okay with that? I mean I don't know.
- 19:06Speaker 3: I like the Trojans.
- 19:07Speaker 9: I mean I kind of like you. I see. Maybe
- 19:10Speaker 9: I don't love Lincoln Riley, but I like you.
- 19:13Speaker 3: We'll give Chesney a chance to win us over. How
- 19:15Speaker 3: about that.
- 19:16Speaker 9: I'm open for that.
- 19:17Speaker 7: Yes, any ways, do the answer is seven?
- 19:19Speaker 4: To what turnover?
- 19:22Speaker 7: He was going to ask he stakes.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yesterday we had Christopher mad Dog Russo. We talked about graduation.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I'm going up to graduation. Man, it goes quick. I
- 19:33Speaker 1: am going up to a graduation this weekend from one
- 19:36Speaker 1: of my daughters at Syracuse University, the Kees.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Yeap, looking forward to that. The Orange uh huh.
- 19:46Speaker 1: And we talked about commencement speeches and the fact that
- 19:49Speaker 1: Dog has never given one. I would pay to see
- 19:52Speaker 1: Dog give one. I've never given one, which is not
- 19:55Speaker 1: the truth, because I realized that I did after we
- 19:58Speaker 1: spoke with with Christopher Dog.
- 20:00Speaker 9: We'res so.
- 20:00Speaker 1: So I am going to play a commencement speech that
- 20:03Speaker 1: I did for the Stugat School of frodcasting many years ago,
- 20:07Speaker 1: since it's graduation season. But I was thinking, is he
- 20:11Speaker 1: about a top five lest yesterday?
- 20:13Speaker 9: Last night?
- 20:14Speaker 7: Today?
- 20:15Speaker 1: Top five people in sports whose parents, if they were
- 20:19Speaker 1: huge fans of all things graduations.
- 20:22Speaker 3: What their names would be?
- 20:25Speaker 7: Love, pomp, and circumstance.
- 20:28Speaker 3: It's just a bridge into the speech, that's all it is.
- 20:30Speaker 7: Okay, a speech that you did years ago.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I did a few years ago. But it's a laugh
- 20:34Speaker 1: out loud funny. I think the audience will enjoy it.
- 20:36Speaker 7: No, I remember it. I just thought you're doing a
- 20:38Speaker 7: new one.
- 20:38Speaker 3: I have an oli. I'm not doing a new one.
- 20:41Speaker 7: No, okay, ever again that's a bridge too fun Iowa.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Sam just asked if I wanted pomp and circumstance, and yes,
- 20:48Speaker 1: I did, all right, ol I Caleb gowns number five,
- 20:57Speaker 1: Brian Scala, Victorian scal number four, Matt Tasselback, that's a
- 21:08Speaker 1: good one. To number three Javail degree's a great number
- 21:18Speaker 1: two John A Speechee.
- 21:24Speaker 7: Speech that.
- 21:28Speaker 6: Was definitely a job of Metia. Bit a bit of
- 21:31Speaker 6: a reach, but still hilarious at the same.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Time, speechy speech and number one grad mccakey.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Grand penny, oh grad penny.
- 21:44Speaker 9: Damn it.
- 21:49Speaker 1: So with that said, years ago, me and Dan stands
- 21:52Speaker 1: It collaborated, and then years later we would collaborate on
- 21:55Speaker 1: a book. He thought I would write more of it
- 21:57Speaker 1: because I wrote this speech.
- 21:58Speaker 3: I didn't. I handed it over to Dan.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Let's play my graduation speech for the class of I
- 22:04Speaker 1: think twenty eighteen.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Perhaps from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Listen up, students, Faculty parents, grandparents, and sponsors, especially the
- 22:29Speaker 1: sponsors TISA, the official watch to the NBA, that beautiful
- 22:35Speaker 1: Spaulding Game Day Leather, and ZIP Recruiter the smartest way
- 22:41Speaker 1: to hire graduates. Zip Recruiter will hire the producers, guest bookers,
- 22:48Speaker 1: and researchers.
- 22:50Speaker 3: That will make your jobs even easier. Today is the
- 22:54Speaker 3: day which will live.
- 22:55Speaker 1: In infamy for graduates of Syracuse and north Western Great
- 23:03Speaker 1: moments are born from great opportunity, and that's what you
- 23:07Speaker 1: have here.
- 23:09Speaker 3: That's what you've earned here.
- 23:13Speaker 1: If we debated them ten times, they might win nine,
- 23:17Speaker 1: but not anymore. Today we interrupt that. Today we clash
- 23:22Speaker 1: with that, and we shut them down because we can.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Today.
- 23:28Speaker 1: You are the greatest broadcasters in the world. You were
- 23:33Speaker 1: born to be broadcasters, every.
- 23:35Speaker 3: One of you.
- 23:37Speaker 9: This is your time.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Their time is done.
- 23:41Speaker 2: It's over.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I'm sick and tired of hearing about what great broadcast
- 23:46Speaker 1: schools the ivys have screw up. This is your time.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I had a dream many years ago. I had a
- 23:56Speaker 1: dream that my two teenage children will one day live
- 23:59Speaker 1: in a nation where they will not be judged by
- 24:02Speaker 1: the color of their skin, but by the content of
- 24:05Speaker 1: the paycheck. Their father's character receives. I knew it wouldn't
- 24:10Speaker 1: be easy to transform sports media, but take it from me,
- 24:14Speaker 1: you miss one hundred.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Percent of the takes.
- 24:17Speaker 1: You don't steal from Greenie, Cowhard and Pablo. I mean,
- 24:22Speaker 1: I've missed more than nine thousand pronunciations in my career.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I've lost almost three hundred debates, twenty six todds. I've
- 24:31Speaker 1: been trusted to make the segment ending joke and misheard
- 24:34Speaker 1: what was said.
- 24:35Speaker 9: In my year.
- 24:36Speaker 3: I have failed.
- 24:37Speaker 7: Over and over and over.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Again in my life, and that is why I succeed.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Always remember what you learned on your first day here.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Speak loudly and carry a big stick.
- 24:54Speaker 3: You'll go farm.
- 24:57Speaker 1: To my many detractors, I asked, do you want the truth?
- 25:02Speaker 1: Because most traditional reporters can't handle the truth. We live
- 25:06Speaker 1: in a world that has paywalls, and those paywalls have
- 25:09Speaker 1: to be guarded by men with journalism degrees.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Who's going to do it?
- 25:13Speaker 1: You, Lieutenant Oban, I have a greater responsibility than you
- 25:18Speaker 1: could possibly fabil. You week for newspapers and you curse
- 25:23Speaker 1: the blogs and podcasts.
- 25:24Speaker 3: You have that luxury.
- 25:26Speaker 1: You have the luxury of not knowing what I know
- 25:29Speaker 1: that the death of newspapers, while tragic, probably created better content.
- 25:34Speaker 1: And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Creates better content. How is this that you don't want
- 25:42Speaker 3: the truth?
- 25:43Speaker 1: Because deep down in places you don't talk about in
- 25:46Speaker 1: press boxes, you want me on that radio.
- 25:50Speaker 4: You need me on that radio.
- 25:52Speaker 1: You use things like stats, sources and postgame quotes. You
- 25:57Speaker 1: use those things as the backbone of a life's that's
- 26:00Speaker 1: defending something. I use them as a punchline.
- 26:04Speaker 7: I have neither the.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Time nor the inclination to explain myself to everyone who
- 26:09Speaker 1: rides and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom
- 26:12Speaker 1: that I provide, and then questions the matter in which
- 26:15Speaker 1: I provide it. I'd rather they just say thank you
- 26:20Speaker 1: and went.
- 26:20Speaker 3: On their way.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Otherwise, I suggest they borrow someone else's takes and mail
- 26:25Speaker 1: it a podcast. Either way, I don't give a damn
- 26:29Speaker 1: what they think they are entitled to. My fellow broadcasters,
- 26:36Speaker 1: ask not what your alma mater could do for you,
- 26:39Speaker 1: Ask what you can do for your alma mater. And
- 26:42Speaker 1: what you could do is send yearly donations. Better make
- 26:46Speaker 1: it monthly donations. If you want to make them weekly,
- 26:49Speaker 1: that's fine. Just make them out to my name, keep
- 26:52Speaker 1: the cast flow coming, the bucks stops here at my desk,
- 26:57Speaker 1: and speaking up the bucks must in game game five tonight.
- 27:01Speaker 7: And so you.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Don't have to pronounce his name, as I taught you, remember,
- 27:06Speaker 1: just call him the Greek free. In less than an hour,
- 27:11Speaker 1: you will join others from around the world, and you
- 27:14Speaker 1: will be launching the largest vocal battle on traditional journalism
- 27:18Speaker 1: in the history of mankind. Journalism. That word should have
- 27:24Speaker 1: new meaning for all of us today. We can't be
- 27:28Speaker 1: consumed by our petty differences anymore.
- 27:32Speaker 3: We will be united in our common interest.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Perhaps it's faith that today is graduation day and you will.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Be set out into the world.
- 27:43Speaker 1: So fight people with frame diplomas at stack resumes. We
- 27:50Speaker 1: will be fighting for our right to not work hard,
- 27:53Speaker 1: to have no credibility, and still be able to land
- 27:57Speaker 1: at the same network as Bob Lee. And should we
- 28:01Speaker 1: win the day, graduation day will no longer be known
- 28:05Speaker 1: as the day of accomplishment, but as a day other
- 28:09Speaker 1: parents realize they have wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars,
- 28:13Speaker 1: and a day that we the underachievers, declared in one voice,
- 28:19Speaker 1: we will not watch the game at night. We may
- 28:23Speaker 1: or may not watch the big fips. We're going to
- 28:27Speaker 1: live on without facts. We're going to survive without reading.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Today we celebrate your graduation day.
- 28:42Speaker 6: Somewhere like it's a little bit commencement speeds, a little
- 28:45Speaker 6: bit acceptance speech, a.
- 28:46Speaker 7: Little bit closing argument, a bent.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Defiant, so very self serving.
- 28:54Speaker 7: Really went Caleb gowns over, Karl Anthony gowns.
- 28:58Speaker 3: You're stuck on that?
- 28:59Speaker 4: Really, there was so much to break down in that
- 29:03Speaker 4: in that commencement speech.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I was ahead of my time. Listen man foreshadowing,
- 29:07Speaker 3: how about that?
- 29:08Speaker 4: My favorite was the appearance we got from Martin Luther
- 29:11Speaker 4: ding Dong junior.
- 29:14Speaker 3: STU.
- 29:15Speaker 10: Could I jump in and offer some observations on this?
- 29:17Speaker 3: Oh? Please do?
- 29:19Speaker 10: I felt I felt a little Teddy Roosevelt in there.
- 29:21Speaker 10: I felt a little few good men, and I felt
- 29:25Speaker 10: a lot of definitely at the end of Thomas J. Whittmore,
- 29:28Speaker 10: President of the United States, played by Bill Pullman in
- 29:30Speaker 10: Independence Day, I have.
- 29:32Speaker 3: No idea what you're speaking.
- 29:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 29:34Speaker 7: I just did you get any of that? I don't see.
- 29:36Speaker 7: I didn't I.
- 29:37Speaker 9: Didn't see to get anything. Were listening while we were
- 29:39Speaker 9: listening to the speech.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Are you claiming that I plagiarized my speech.
- 29:46Speaker 10: Is that what you're No, I think you're just borrowing
- 29:48Speaker 10: some spices, maybe from several popular speeches from movies that Ture.
- 29:53Speaker 7: We need him on this radio. We want him on
- 29:55Speaker 7: this radio. There's no way it was plagiarized.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Half of it was about him. You notice that, Dad.
- 30:06Speaker 4: Also, the act of stealing takes is encouraged.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Yeah. Always, yes, I mean as a fellow graduate. Yes, Steel,
- 30:12Speaker 3: mind Steel, Taylor's.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Graduated on the top of my class.
- 30:16Speaker 3: You're my prize student.
- 30:18Speaker 1: He also could have gone Matt Tassel instead of Tassel
- 30:21Speaker 1: back because Tassel would have worked as well with Castle.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Hey, Stefan, how about you make a list? Uh?
- 30:31Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
- 30:35Speaker 2: live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I am told by Iowa Sam that we have like
- 30:43Speaker 1: eighteen minutes to take phone calls whatever you want to
- 30:46Speaker 1: talk about Wednesday eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
- 30:50Speaker 3: So Whizzy.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I want to see if I'm following you correctly down
- 30:53Speaker 1: this Anthony Edwards path, because I believe that.
- 30:56Speaker 7: You're talking about Ricardo's haircut.
- 30:58Speaker 3: You are obsessed with Ricardo's He looks great.
- 31:01Speaker 1: I mean, yes, this is the best bordout Ricardo was
- 31:04Speaker 1: look since we started.
- 31:05Speaker 6: Well, usually wears a hat, so you can tell he's
- 31:06Speaker 6: really proud of this. But the thing I love about
- 31:08Speaker 6: this haircut that it's not only like pristine like twenty
- 31:12Speaker 6: twenty six can walk anywhere with that haircut, but he
- 31:15Speaker 6: also looks like he could be starring in like a
- 31:17Speaker 6: Grease musical and like just fall into like the nineteen
- 31:20Speaker 6: fifties perfectly, because it's like perfectly like I would say
- 31:23Speaker 6: Sean Sherania would be proud of this.
- 31:25Speaker 7: Haircut, like that's how good this haircut is.
- 31:27Speaker 3: And Stu, he's.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Wearing a soccer kit as they call, not a soccer jersey,
- 31:32Speaker 4: a soccer kit. Yes, and it has the collar. It's
- 31:35Speaker 4: a French jersey. The collar on his kit.
- 31:38Speaker 3: It's a France kit.
- 31:39Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, it looks like like photo day here at
- 31:43Speaker 4: Fox Sports Radio right now.
- 31:44Speaker 7: It's like a real collar and everything.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Wait a second, Ricardo, did you get a haircut for
- 31:48Speaker 1: the big soccer game today? I mean, well, it is
- 31:52Speaker 1: the semi final studot, so I had to look good.
- 31:55Speaker 7: Yes, it would have no comment to that trust for
- 31:58Speaker 7: the job you want.
- 32:00Speaker 1: And we all know the semi finals more important than
- 32:02Speaker 1: the final, right, I mean.
- 32:04Speaker 7: This is the finals pretty much?
- 32:05Speaker 3: Oh, it is really the finals before the final. Huh.
- 32:09Speaker 4: It's the rare Champions League semi final. That's the Champions
- 32:12Speaker 4: League final.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Huh.
- 32:13Speaker 7: Kind of like Arizona Michigan in the final four.
- 32:16Speaker 4: People are just discounting Arsenal, do they?
- 32:19Speaker 3: So that's the team that's in the final.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Declan Rice, yep, Arsenal did, and they have no.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Shot regardless of who makes it through to the finals.
- 32:26Speaker 4: They should, but Arsenal's main focus right now is on
- 32:29Speaker 4: the Premier League, which they haven't won in quite some time.
- 32:32Speaker 4: So it's it's kind of like a pick your poison
- 32:34Speaker 4: for this Arsenal team where they're probably focusing all their
- 32:37Speaker 4: attention on. It's the rare team that's in the Champions
- 32:40Speaker 4: League final that might have their eyes elsewhere.
- 32:42Speaker 6: But isn't Declan Rice having such a good season that
- 32:44Speaker 6: they're even talking about them about, you know, winning the
- 32:47Speaker 6: ball or whatever the balloon.
- 32:50Speaker 4: So I'm gonna be honest with you guys right here,
- 32:52Speaker 4: in a moment of transparency, we're so far into this
- 32:56Speaker 4: soccer talk right now, that I don't even know what
- 32:58Speaker 4: I'm saying.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Well, that's a problem with soccer. There too many leagues.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Everyone's confused.
- 33:01Speaker 1: You're telling me there's a semi final that happens, it's
- 33:04Speaker 1: a final before a final. It's a league, it's a
- 33:06Speaker 1: different league. There's this league, that league, the World Cup.
- 33:09Speaker 1: It's all confusing.
- 33:09Speaker 6: I love that, though, Tayto's like, please, no more questions, please.
- 33:13Speaker 7: I don't know anything.
- 33:14Speaker 3: No one does. I mean, the players have no idea
- 33:16Speaker 3: what league they're playing in.
- 33:20Speaker 4: Ricardo asked me who I thought was gonna win, and
- 33:23Speaker 4: I essentially told him the German League.
- 33:27Speaker 9: Do you think it's going to win the Super Bowl?
- 33:29Speaker 9: And I said the NFL.
- 33:32Speaker 7: Tip of the cap.
- 33:35Speaker 1: We'll get to your calls here at a second, eight
- 33:36Speaker 1: seven seven ninety nine one Fox. So if Anthony Edward
- 33:39Speaker 1: can beat San Antonio right now, he's back and he's
- 33:42Speaker 1: coming off the bench, Edwards, and perhaps he'll start moving forward.
- 33:45Speaker 1: But that creates a storyline for the NBA with wem beat.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Right has to come back, has to work harder, has
- 33:50Speaker 1: to do it better, has to be better. Right has
- 33:52Speaker 1: to make that climb. Then goes on to beat Oklahoma City,
- 33:55Speaker 1: which makes everyone happy because Oklahoma City does not win
- 33:59Speaker 1: back to back NBA Apians championships because no one wants
- 34:02Speaker 1: that team as an NBA dynast.
- 34:04Speaker 7: And I would say even greater.
- 34:05Speaker 6: It would be a victory for ethical hoops, right because
- 34:08Speaker 6: it's not you know, asking for fout, begging for fouls
- 34:11Speaker 6: and all this stuff. It's just I'm Anthony Edwards. I
- 34:13Speaker 6: can get a shot off whenever I want to, and
- 34:16Speaker 6: I'm ridiculously clutched.
- 34:17Speaker 3: And here's the other thing.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So the Knicks, who I have already in the NBA Finals,
- 34:22Speaker 1: Nick fans would love that he'd get a standing ovation
- 34:25Speaker 1: because the Knicks are now facing a Timberwolf's team that
- 34:28Speaker 1: Nick fans feel like they could beat as opposed to
- 34:30Speaker 1: Oklahoma City, where Nick fans are like.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Hey, we have no shot.
- 34:34Speaker 1: So I think if this all plays out, you're right,
- 34:36Speaker 1: he saves the NBA and the Knicks win in five,
- 34:39Speaker 1: and he gets Finals MVP.
- 34:41Speaker 6: Like, imagine, imagine how star studded Madison Square Garden is
- 34:46Speaker 6: going to be for an NBA Finals, and yet Anthony
- 34:50Speaker 6: Edwards would emerge as the biggest star right there because
- 34:53Speaker 6: of his performance. I mean, and he's just his look
- 34:56Speaker 6: I should hate Anthony Edwards. Anthony Edwards did the thing
- 34:59Speaker 6: where he was like, saw a line of you know,
- 35:01Speaker 6: gay men a thing and said, oh, what is this
- 35:03Speaker 6: world coming to and decided to post that on the Internet.
- 35:06Speaker 6: I should hate the guy, yes, but I see him
- 35:08Speaker 6: as a young guy with a lot to learn and
- 35:10Speaker 6: a very willingness to write. I think he has that
- 35:14Speaker 6: ability to and he's just always going to be himself.
- 35:17Speaker 6: He's going to be very personable, but always be true
- 35:20Speaker 6: to himself. And I think he's impossible not to like.
- 35:24Speaker 6: And so if he just not only with his style
- 35:26Speaker 6: of play, but with his personality comes out on top
- 35:30Speaker 6: after you know what we've been saying, Oh it's Jokers year,
- 35:33Speaker 6: Oh it's Shay's year, Oh it's Wemby's year, and it's
- 35:35Speaker 6: Anthony Edwards out of this sixth seed with a bunch
- 35:37Speaker 6: of defenders around him.
- 35:39Speaker 7: That I mean, that would do so much for him.
- 35:41Speaker 1: What is he just did there, by the way, is
- 35:43Speaker 1: make it impossible for you to dislike Anthony Edwards.
- 35:46Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 35:47Speaker 7: Yeah, basically because he was right.
- 35:48Speaker 1: If any is wired to dislike Anthony Edwards, it would
- 35:53Speaker 1: be as real goodyer as And he's telling you he
- 35:55Speaker 1: likes him, Go ahead tell it and it.
- 35:56Speaker 4: Would be a very star studed event in Madison Square Garden.
- 36:00Speaker 4: There was another met Gala then then Ben Stiller would miss.
- 36:03Speaker 3: It that phony.
- 36:04Speaker 7: I mean, I just don't understand the met Galle to
- 36:06Speaker 7: be honest.
- 36:06Speaker 6: Like, first of all, it's like the Tour de France
- 36:08Speaker 6: to me, it comes around every year and I'm like, oh,
- 36:10Speaker 6: I didn't know it was that sneaks up on now, Yeah, it.
- 36:13Speaker 7: Definitely sneaks up on you. And then it's just like
- 36:15Speaker 7: I don't, can't, I don't.
- 36:17Speaker 6: I mean, it's a fundraiser, but it's really just so
- 36:19Speaker 6: you can be seen in these clothes.
- 36:21Speaker 7: Dude. You guys are rich. You can be seen in
- 36:23Speaker 7: these clothes whenever you want. Just put it on. Just
- 36:25Speaker 7: put it on, and then put it on social same thing.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, man, I see, uh, I see
- 36:30Speaker 1: all these celebrities at the Derby.
- 36:32Speaker 3: I want to go. I'm not big, you know, horse
- 36:34Speaker 3: racing it's dead.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I'm not big, but I am big on partying, and
- 36:38Speaker 1: that just looks like a massive party.
- 36:39Speaker 5: Man.
- 36:40Speaker 4: I think that's the Preakness.
- 36:41Speaker 14: No, no, I think it was definitely the Derby party,
- 36:44Speaker 14: all of them well, the derby is where Tom Brady
- 36:46Speaker 14: was falling down drunk right, and where Wes Welker was
- 36:49Speaker 14: supposedly on Molly and was handing out allegedly.
- 36:52Speaker 6: Yes, I'm sorry, allegedly not supposedly, I'm really I'm very thankful.
- 36:57Speaker 6: By the way, speaking of a sort of tailor situation
- 36:59Speaker 6: like don'ts any more soccer questions, there was a caller
- 37:02Speaker 6: and the subject line set Pelicans head coach search, and
- 37:05Speaker 6: I got nothing on it, and so thankfully that person
- 37:08Speaker 6: has fallen off.
- 37:08Speaker 7: But maybe we should take one of these others.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Yeah, the caller high dropped. Let's go out to uh Mark.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Who's in Miami today, Marco Ahead, you're on Fox Sports Radio.
- 37:17Speaker 3: What's up? Pillas.
- 37:19Speaker 15: I agree with your sentiment, SGA. As great as he is,
- 37:23Speaker 15: he doesn't.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Have to do it.
- 37:24Speaker 15: But I blame the rest more because if they're going
- 37:28Speaker 15: to fall for that bait of foul baiting, he's going
- 37:31Speaker 15: to do it every time. And your skills in and
- 37:33Speaker 15: great as he is offensively, and he's probably as good
- 37:36Speaker 15: as anybody in the league right now inside a KD,
- 37:38Speaker 15: he can sell that call. So I blame the rest
- 37:40Speaker 15: more than that. I just I just really hope they
- 37:42Speaker 15: get taken out. And I agree with you on at Man.
- 37:44Speaker 15: I just love the way how unfiltered and raw he is.
- 37:48Speaker 15: Sometimes they'll get him in trouble, but the guy's so
- 37:50Speaker 15: damn entertaining. But another guy I really enjoys, Cake Cunningham.
- 37:54Speaker 15: Maybe he's not as flashy as ant Man, but I
- 37:57Speaker 15: think overall game you can make a You can make
- 37:59Speaker 15: a strong argument that he's better than a man. It's
- 38:01Speaker 15: just that he's not as flashy, and he doesn't he's
- 38:04Speaker 15: not as unfiltered or raw, but he doesn't flop do anything.
- 38:07Speaker 15: He's just an ultimate gamer. He's just every single play.
- 38:11Speaker 15: I just love it. As a Nick fit and excuse
- 38:13Speaker 15: me as a Heath fan who hates the Knicks, I
- 38:15Speaker 15: would I really Brunton does that at times. But I
- 38:18Speaker 15: just love way his bulldog mentality being an undersized guard,
- 38:21Speaker 15: the way he attacks and just goes that guy's and
- 38:24Speaker 15: and and the way he just his ultimate will of
- 38:27Speaker 15: being a second round guy who was expected to be
- 38:30Speaker 15: a ninth or tenth guy off the bench. I mean,
- 38:32Speaker 15: I can't believe I'm saying this as a Heathan about
- 38:35Speaker 15: the Knicks, but I really enjoy watching them there, they're
- 38:38Speaker 15: kind of interest stating cact even though he's off the wall.
- 38:40Speaker 15: When he gets going man and that mecha the garden's rocking,
- 38:44Speaker 15: it'd be entertaining. So I just I just think the
- 38:47Speaker 15: sentiment to okay, see. As great as they are, I
- 38:49Speaker 15: just I don't think a lot of people enjoy them
- 38:51Speaker 15: at all, and it would be hopefully I'm hoping whoever
- 38:54Speaker 15: it is at Man, preferably even the Spurs to somebody
- 38:57Speaker 15: take them out because with this new CBA, and I'm
- 39:00Speaker 15: just hoping they're going to lose a lot of their
- 39:02Speaker 15: guys in their dynasty is not going to be attacked.
- 39:04Speaker 15: So I think they're gonna start losing some guys starting
- 39:06Speaker 15: this year because they've already maxed out Sea, Dalen Williams
- 39:10Speaker 15: and h another. So it's gonna be great to watch
- 39:12Speaker 15: things from tillis all right?
- 39:14Speaker 1: Thank you, Mark, call again, please whenever you want, about
- 39:17Speaker 1: whatever you want. This is why I came back to
- 39:19Speaker 1: sports radio out of it. There are different types of callers.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Mark is the type of caller who calls in and
- 39:24Speaker 1: just does whatever the hell he wants. I mean, the
- 39:26Speaker 1: show that he wants to do, that's the show. And
- 39:28Speaker 1: I said, Hey, it's whatever you want Wednesday, so you
- 39:31Speaker 1: can talk about whatever you want. But Mark, I'm telling
- 39:34Speaker 1: you you could do that on a Thursday, Friday, of
- 39:36Speaker 1: Monday and Tuesday whenever you want.
- 39:38Speaker 14: Okay, You're always whatever you want, apparently for how long
- 39:41Speaker 14: you want.
- 39:41Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't get it.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Yes, he was doing his show.
- 39:44Speaker 6: He mentioned Kid Cunningham and I thought, you know, in
- 39:46Speaker 6: terms of like the potential finals opponent for Anthony Edwards,
- 39:50Speaker 6: it would very much be like the the Michael Jordan
- 39:54Speaker 6: path of having to get over the tough defensive Pistons
- 39:56Speaker 6: team with the all world point guard.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Now it's I can tell you of someone who watched
- 40:01Speaker 1: his first Pistons game last night.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Kate cutting him is good.
- 40:05Speaker 7: That was your first game last night?
- 40:07Speaker 4: Duran in the post, I am terrified of the Pistons.
- 40:10Speaker 3: I want nothing. Let's go Calves now the Pistons.
- 40:14Speaker 4: For me, we have the close your eyes test where
- 40:17Speaker 4: I asked you guys to close your eyes and imagine something. Yeah,
- 40:21Speaker 4: the Pistons don't pass the close your eyes test because
- 40:23Speaker 4: close your eyes and imagine Tobias Harris as the second
- 40:27Speaker 4: option for a title team.
- 40:28Speaker 3: You can't.
- 40:29Speaker 6: My eyes were wide open. And I couldn't believe what
- 40:31Speaker 6: he was doing in the first round. Yeah, okay, because
- 40:33Speaker 6: he was actually being the guy and doing it well.
- 40:36Speaker 3: Yes, Mikey, since Taylor likes.
- 40:38Speaker 9: To bring up all his takes, that he was right.
- 40:41Speaker 9: I believe the Knicks didn't pass to close your eyes
- 40:43Speaker 9: test when we did that.
- 40:45Speaker 7: That's true.
- 40:45Speaker 3: Yeah, that is no, the Knicks didn't.
- 40:47Speaker 4: No, So the close your eyes test for the Knicks
- 40:49Speaker 4: was close your eyes and imagine Karl Anthony Town's winning
- 40:52Speaker 4: a title.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Yes, well, now close, Well he's on the neck. Has
- 40:57Speaker 3: anything changed? Try again? Yeah?
- 40:58Speaker 4: You know what, in the spirit of accountability, when I
- 41:02Speaker 4: close my eyes, I could kind of pitch your cat.
- 41:06Speaker 4: I could see the thirty two in the outline of him.
- 41:08Speaker 4: His face isn't filled in yet, but we're starting to
- 41:11Speaker 4: get that picture.
- 41:12Speaker 7: I can't believe he was in Devilware is product too.
- 41:14Speaker 1: You know the take he never reminds you of, mikeyya
- 41:17Speaker 1: that he hates this Yankee team and they've won seventeen.
- 41:20Speaker 7: I believe least favorite, not hate.
- 41:23Speaker 4: It's my least favorite.
- 41:24Speaker 7: Yes, they won seventeen of nineteen.
- 41:26Speaker 4: Listen, all the fathers out there know you have a
- 41:30Speaker 4: least favorite kid. If you have more than one kid,
- 41:32Speaker 4: you have a least favorite kid. Doesn't mean you love
- 41:34Speaker 4: that kid any less, but you have a least favorite
- 41:37Speaker 4: I don't.
- 41:38Speaker 9: Wow.
- 41:38Speaker 6: This is like when your least favorite kid. He's succeeding
- 41:41Speaker 6: really well, but the sport is like badminton.
- 41:44Speaker 9: This kid, I know.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Tell it was trying to set me up for the
- 41:46Speaker 1: joke there. I wasn't wanting to do it. My kids
- 41:48Speaker 1: are graduating this weekend.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Yes, listen, I'm speaking as I'm speaking as a guy
- 41:53Speaker 4: with no kids.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:55Speaker 4: All the dads out there know they have a least favorite.
- 41:56Speaker 7: Night, don't they twins? Yes, yeah, it can't be. It
- 41:59Speaker 7: can't have a leave favorite.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Yeah, well you can.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Let's go out to Kelly in North Carolina. Kelly go ahead.
- 42:08Speaker 1: You're on Fox Sports Radio.
- 42:10Speaker 15: And do you think Fernando Mendoza saved Carlos Mendoza's job
- 42:16Speaker 15: by having by making the last.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Name look good unfortunately?
- 42:20Speaker 6: Yes, I mean it is a good time to be
- 42:23Speaker 6: a Mendoza.
- 42:25Speaker 4: It's never been a better time.
- 42:28Speaker 7: It's incredibility.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Yes, let's go, thank you for the call, Kelly. Let's
- 42:32Speaker 1: go to John, who's in Maine today. John, go ahead,
- 42:35Speaker 1: you're on Fox Sports Radio.
- 42:38Speaker 11: Hey guys, loving the show. When I watched the Kentucky Derby.
- 42:45Speaker 11: My wife and I used to watch the Kentucky Derby
- 42:47Speaker 11: and we'd always have a private vet between the two
- 42:51Speaker 11: of us and we'd pick a horse.
- 42:53Speaker 3: Wow.
- 42:53Speaker 11: She died three years ago, and I still watch the
- 42:57Speaker 11: Kentucky Derby and I still pick a horse fear. I
- 43:00Speaker 11: watched and I picked Great White, and I looked up
- 43:05Speaker 11: at the heavens. I said, okay, honey, you know and uh,
- 43:10Speaker 11: all of a sudden, I see on the TV. I
- 43:12Speaker 11: went and got a drink and I'd come back and
- 43:15Speaker 11: it's like my horse flipped over and knocked the jack
- 43:18Speaker 11: you off and they scratched him. And I'm like, out
- 43:21Speaker 11: of all those horses, I picked the one that decided
- 43:25Speaker 11: to have an attitude adjustment.
- 43:30Speaker 7: That was your wife's making sure you didn't win.
- 43:32Speaker 5: Yes, exactly right, because our private bet was if she won,
- 43:39Speaker 5: she had to make love to me and if I
- 43:41Speaker 5: made if I won, I had to make love to her.
- 43:48Speaker 9: When when what.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I am going to try? Yes, I'm going to try
- 43:54Speaker 1: it tonight. What's the horse Rades basketball game?
- 44:00Speaker 3: I no, No, I.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Don't care what the bet is I'll lose That was
- 44:07Speaker 1: such a great line by is he that is your wife,
- 44:10Speaker 1: even in the afterlife, still getting the best of you.
- 44:12Speaker 3: I just let you have it. Eight seven seven ninety
- 44:16Speaker 3: nine on Fox. That is eight seven seven ninety nine
- 44:19Speaker 3: on Fox.
- 44:20Speaker 7: Yes, no, I just had something to read if you
- 44:22Speaker 7: want me to.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Oh no, I thought we had five more minutes here.
- 44:24Speaker 1: I mean I was saying, we don't know any time. No,
- 44:26Speaker 1: we have time for calls. I mean they're wide over
- 44:28Speaker 1: lines right now. I just cleared them out eight seven
- 44:31Speaker 1: seven ninety nine on Fox. That is eight seven seven
- 44:33Speaker 1: ninety nine on Fox. Because of course, we are killing
- 44:35Speaker 1: time here until we try until Bob Chesney joins us
- 44:39Speaker 1: and tries to convert us all to UCLA brewin football fans.
- 44:43Speaker 7: Are we sure he's not related to Kenny Chesney? I
- 44:45Speaker 7: have no idea, should be the first question?
- 44:47Speaker 3: Or well, probably probably not. I think Kenny Chesney might
- 44:50Speaker 3: be joining us on the show.
- 44:51Speaker 7: Actually, really, how about that?
- 44:53Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got a concert, he's got some uh, he's
- 44:56Speaker 1: got a residency at the Sphere. He also just wrote
- 44:59Speaker 1: a book, and he's been on with several times before.
- 45:01Speaker 4: What we need is a podcast with Bob Chesney and
- 45:04Speaker 4: Kenny Chesney and it's called a couple of Chesney's.
- 45:06Speaker 3: What else would you call it?
- 45:10Speaker 4: I don't know what they would talk about, but I'd
- 45:11Speaker 4: listen at least of the first episode.
- 45:14Speaker 1: All Right, Taylor wants to play a game of one table,
- 45:17Speaker 1: So Iowa, Sam DePoy, get that music ready please.
- 45:22Speaker 2: There's one table left at the hottest spot in town,
- 45:25Speaker 2: and everybody wants it. Who's getting it and who's getting
- 45:30Speaker 2: left outside? Greatness gets seated, everyone else waits. This is
- 45:37Speaker 2: one table.
- 45:40Speaker 7: That sounds like Sam? Was that?
- 45:41Speaker 15: Sam?
- 45:42Speaker 4: No?
- 45:42Speaker 3: No? We played this game earlier today with t Bob
- 45:46Speaker 3: from Barstool.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Check it out on Stecott's company, The show we do
- 45:49Speaker 1: before the show.
- 45:50Speaker 6: Thank you so much for making this a restaurant with
- 45:53Speaker 6: one table left instead of a restaurant with just one table.
- 45:59Speaker 9: It's a terrible bit his model.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Go ahead, Dylan, So this one is tough. The tables
- 46:07Speaker 4: in South ben Indiana Wow. And in walks Marcus Freeman yep.
- 46:12Speaker 4: And in walks Mike.
- 46:14Speaker 7: Golick ooh Senior.
- 46:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:17Speaker 4: Notre Dame's first family.
- 46:20Speaker 1: So it's Marcus Freeman, the coach who hasn't won a
- 46:22Speaker 1: national championship.
- 46:24Speaker 7: Yeah, hasn't really figured out his.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Hair against Mike Golick, who I don't think won a
- 46:28Speaker 1: national championship when he was at Notre Dame's hair looks great,
- 46:32Speaker 1: but he is part of the first family of.
- 46:34Speaker 4: Notre Dame Iconic Sports show.
- 46:37Speaker 1: In fact, I'm guessing Golick had you know, a voice
- 46:40Speaker 1: when they hired Marcus Freeman. It made that decision, yes,
- 46:44Speaker 1: and Freeman should get gold at the table.
- 46:46Speaker 9: Out of respect.
- 46:48Speaker 3: But Golick, being the nice guy that he is, would
- 46:49Speaker 3: give Marcus to the table.
- 46:50Speaker 7: This is a tough one.
- 46:51Speaker 6: This is very tough because, like I'm imagining who would
- 46:54Speaker 6: be more okay standing outside?
- 46:57Speaker 7: Like who would look more just okay with it?
- 47:00Speaker 6: And I'm sorry, but I don't see Marcus Freeman standing
- 47:03Speaker 6: outside in the cold waiting, you know what I mean?
- 47:05Speaker 6: Like everybody in South Bend would be like, what's wrong
- 47:07Speaker 6: with that restaurant?
- 47:08Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 47:08Speaker 6: Versus if golic was outside waiting, he would be like, oh,
- 47:11Speaker 6: what a nice guy.
- 47:12Speaker 7: He probably lets somebody else eat in front of him.
- 47:14Speaker 4: Yes, and Freeman is not waiting outside if it's raining,
- 47:16Speaker 4: because half his hair wouldn't get washed away.
- 47:18Speaker 3: That's right. Yes, So Marcus Freeman. We all agree he
- 47:21Speaker 3: would get the table.
- 47:24Speaker 9: I love Mike, but there's no chance.
- 47:26Speaker 6: There's no chance that's not Marcus mum table.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Yes, do you have another? Because I have one?
- 47:31Speaker 4: I heard, Yeah, you can go.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Can I use guys who are alive and guys who
- 47:35Speaker 1: have passed away.
- 47:36Speaker 3: In their prime?
- 47:36Speaker 4: Yep, in their primes?
- 47:37Speaker 1: Okay, Bloomington, Indiana. Bobby Knight in his prime? Wow, Kurt
- 47:43Speaker 1: Signetti right now?
- 47:47Speaker 9: Wow, yep, it's.
- 47:49Speaker 1: The Hoosiers couple of angry, angry, angry people looking for
- 47:53Speaker 1: that table.
- 47:54Speaker 9: If no one's giving it out.
- 47:55Speaker 3: Listen, you don't want to either of them in your restaurant.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I can tell you that much. They're gonna complain about
- 47:59Speaker 1: the weight, staff, all of it.
- 48:00Speaker 9: I mean, misteak has never been cooked, right.
- 48:03Speaker 1: I think ownership would want Signetti because Knight would walk
- 48:06Speaker 1: in and probably just throw the chair at the table,
- 48:08Speaker 1: you know, throw it.
- 48:09Speaker 7: Across the room, and he doesn't get his table. He
- 48:12Speaker 7: is wrecking that place. It's a real who's your dad?
- 48:15Speaker 1: So this is hey, this is a prime Bobby Knight
- 48:18Speaker 1: right now, Dan, prime Bobby Knight. They just they're coming
- 48:21Speaker 1: off a championship. Keith Smart I think it was like
- 48:23Speaker 1: eighty forty five something like that, and he's walking into
- 48:26Speaker 1: that restler.
- 48:28Speaker 3: It's possible the general is getting there.
- 48:31Speaker 7: It's not even an ounce of hesitation.
- 48:33Speaker 3: Wow.
- 48:34Speaker 6: I think we need You need about another half dozen
- 48:37Speaker 6: years of signetti. You need a few more memes out
- 48:40Speaker 6: of him before you can get to I mean, Bob
- 48:42Speaker 6: Knight threw a chair across a court and during a
- 48:45Speaker 6: game like that is iconic.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Stuff, and Dan saying he would do that when he
- 48:49Speaker 1: walked into the rest of Root.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Imagine if Patino walked in, Wow.
- 48:53Speaker 11: What.
- 48:55Speaker 3: I'm in the kitchen.
- 49:00Speaker 9: Be right, pable thirty.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Being exciting fourteen seconds.
- 49:04Speaker 4: This table is in La the Rock walks in, and
- 49:09Speaker 4: then Kevin Hart walks in.
- 49:11Speaker 7: Wow, who gets in front of him though he'd have
- 49:13Speaker 7: to walk in front of him to be.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Seen, Yes, Rock or Kevin Hort.
- 49:17Speaker 9: The rockets the table. What do we even talking?
- 49:19Speaker 7: I think that's a hundred percent the Rock really yeah?
- 49:22Speaker 3: Wow?
- 49:23Speaker 6: And I think the part of it is because Kevin
- 49:25Speaker 6: Hart is gonna handle it better. He's just going to
- 49:26Speaker 6: tell jokes about how he got, uh, you know, over
- 49:29Speaker 6: taken by the Rock.
- 49:30Speaker 3: Let's stay in La Prime, Magic Prime Kobe.
- 49:36Speaker 9: Kobe, are you.
- 49:37Speaker 7: Sure about that magic rock? The sizzle to he was
- 49:42Speaker 7: he is the Lakers.
- 49:43Speaker 16: Yeah, there's no Kobe without magic, and most people put
- 49:47Speaker 16: it's just crazy to me. Most people put magic ahead
- 49:50Speaker 16: of Kobe on the all time players list. They automatically
- 49:52Speaker 16: put magic top five, Yes, which is crazy because he's
- 49:55Speaker 16: basically looked like what forty.
- 49:56Speaker 7: One year old Lebron looks like. Right anyway, Yeah, digress.
- 50:00Speaker 4: I'm switching. I'm switching to magic now.
- 50:02Speaker 7: I think it's magic that smile smile is he.
- 50:07Speaker 4: Made a compelling argument, right, Okay, good documentary.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sorry, Wow, it's not what I'm talking about.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Shack versus Kobe Prime, Shaq Kobe Prime.
- 50:19Speaker 7: They're giving it to Shack.
- 50:20Speaker 6: I think most people think that everything happened between them
- 50:23Speaker 6: was Kobe's fault because he was too demanding.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Well, I also think people viewed Shack as the number
- 50:27Speaker 1: one on that team, which is why Kobe has said.
- 50:31Speaker 3: That those championships he won without Shaq were more important
- 50:34Speaker 3: to him than the championships he won.
- 50:35Speaker 6: Would Shack, Kobe would not get the table. He'd just
- 50:38Speaker 6: go to the gym and take them more jumpers.
