- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I Heart Radio. Week twelve is not yet over.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We have one more game will be live in Indianapolis
- 0:21Speaker 1: a little bit later. However, heading into Week thirteen, I
- 0:24Speaker 1: have in my hand right here playoff clinching scenarios. They
- 0:28Speaker 1: are real. It's that time of the year. Welcome to
- 0:32Speaker 1: NFL Now, NFL Network from our news room in Los Angeles.
- 0:35Speaker 1: M andrews Ceciliata. Those scenarios coming up shortly. Let's get
- 0:38Speaker 1: to the game from last night. However, that wrapped up
- 0:41Speaker 1: your four day football weekend. A chance for Aaron Rodgers
- 0:45Speaker 1: and the Packers, who had lost six out of seven two,
- 0:47Speaker 1: maybe save their season. All they have to do is
- 0:50Speaker 1: win on the road against Jalen Hurts and the one
- 0:52Speaker 1: seed in the NFC, and they could not stop the run.
- 0:56Speaker 1: The Eagles. Miles Sanders Jaln Hurts ran for three hundred
- 1:01Speaker 1: and sixty three yards, most in franchise history since nineteen
- 1:09Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts head over a hundred yards rushing. That's good
- 1:12Speaker 1: for forty two in the first half alone. He ran
- 1:17Speaker 1: for a fuck fifty seven. Sanders and Hurts combined just
- 1:22Speaker 1: the two of them for three yards on the ground.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Eagles at this point up to fourteen. By the way,
- 1:26Speaker 1: we're only midway through the second quarter. Everyone on on
- 1:30Speaker 1: the Twitter was saying that this game was drunk in
- 1:32Speaker 1: the first half, like just on a bender from the
- 1:34Speaker 1: Thanksgiving weekend. Aaron Rodgers part of that bender here, looking
- 1:38Speaker 1: like his old self hitting Aaron Jones. We're twenty and
- 1:41Speaker 1: twenties at the half, well, I mean until Janelon heardson
- 1:45Speaker 1: quite watch into we got seven more before the half.
- 1:48Speaker 1: We had seven points at the half, which is the
- 1:51Speaker 1: highest scoring first half of the NFL this season. Let's
- 1:54Speaker 1: go to the third quarter, and this is kind of
- 1:56Speaker 1: the play that changed everything. A sonoretic Brandon Graham on
- 2:01Speaker 1: a third and seven, get to Aaron Rodgers and clearly
- 2:04Speaker 1: you see got hit on the right side. He's gonna
- 2:07Speaker 1: go to the locker room, take off the pads and
- 2:09Speaker 1: the jersey, get the X rays initially called an oblique injury.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Eagles runaway a j Brown here the touchdown. Jordan Love
- 2:18Speaker 1: played well more in that the second Eagles win, but
- 2:20Speaker 1: Rogers and the Packers fall to four and eight. Year
- 2:28Speaker 1: m I don't think so, you know, as long as
- 2:30Speaker 1: I check out Fine tomorrow, expect to play this weekend. Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I mean there's obviously a lot of other conversations that
- 2:37Speaker 1: come into play once you're eliminated. Um, and I'll be
- 2:41Speaker 1: opening all those conversations. Pride comes to mind, you know,
- 2:45Speaker 1: love with the game. But there's other factors that obviously
- 2:49Speaker 1: would come into play should we be mathematically eliminated. We
- 2:55Speaker 1: do everything at a pretty consistent basis. That's what we
- 2:58Speaker 1: straw for. And I think we've done that at moments
- 3:01Speaker 1: this this year. And I think that's our standard, you know.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And I feel like, UM big games where you know,
- 3:06Speaker 1: I have a day like this or um impact in
- 3:10Speaker 1: the game. I'm on the ground Martian yards early on.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know how to answer that question,
- 3:21Speaker 1: to be honest, I ran and they couldn't get me.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Why couldn't they stop you? I don't know, you should
- 3:28Speaker 1: ask them. Shalen Hurts great jacket. By the way, first
- 3:31Speaker 1: quarterback James Palmer Mark cross a couple of Philly guys
- 3:33Speaker 1: with me with a hundred and fifty yards on the
- 3:35Speaker 1: ground and hundred fifty yards through the air and two
- 3:38Speaker 1: passing touchdowns. Since at least nineteen fifty. So, I mean, James,
- 3:43Speaker 1: we say this every week you were there. I mean,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I guess all our questions are gone. I don't know,
- 3:47Speaker 1: we keep doing the same segment, but he keeps doing
- 3:49Speaker 1: this every week. Yeah, it's it's just a remarkable development, Andrew.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I remember being at his pro day at Oklahoma when
- 3:57Speaker 1: scouts and executives were panting his performance there this offseason.
- 4:00Speaker 1: With Howie Roseman having two first round picks coming up
- 4:03Speaker 1: in next year's drafts, are they going to use those
- 4:06Speaker 1: on a quarterback? And now you have to say that
- 4:08Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts is playing at an m v P level.
- 4:10Speaker 1: If you look what he's doing with his legs, with
- 4:12Speaker 1: his arm, and his quarterback rating. We haven't seen those
- 4:14Speaker 1: stats together since Lamar Jackson, and he was the unanimous
- 4:17Speaker 1: m v P the year he did exactly what Jalen
- 4:20Speaker 1: Hurts is doing right now. But the biggest part of it,
- 4:23Speaker 1: Mark is the development part of how he's operating in
- 4:26Speaker 1: year two of this offense. People may think he just
- 4:29Speaker 1: goes out and runs what they're asking him to run,
- 4:31Speaker 1: but a lot of it is the trust they have
- 4:32Speaker 1: in him. He goes back to the sideline repeatedly saying,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'm seeing this, I think we should do that. They
- 4:38Speaker 1: listen to him change things, and Nick Sirianni said after
- 4:41Speaker 1: the game, we change him and trust him because usually
- 4:44Speaker 1: what he says it works. And the other part of
- 4:46Speaker 1: it is he's changing so much more at the line
- 4:49Speaker 1: of scrimmage this year compared to a year ago. Jason
- 4:51Speaker 1: Kelsey told us after the game that he has the
- 4:54Speaker 1: full gambit at the line of scrimmage. Mark He changed
- 4:56Speaker 1: a number of passes, two runs, runs to passes, a
- 4:58Speaker 1: lot of them changed on third down. He's seeing things
- 5:02Speaker 1: very well. Combine that with the talent and his desire
- 5:04Speaker 1: to win, you have a special player right now, no doubt,
- 5:08Speaker 1: a special player on the field. And James, you talked
- 5:10Speaker 1: about the trust and why do the Eagles trust Jalen Hurts,
- 5:14Speaker 1: And that's because he's a natural born leader. No matter
- 5:17Speaker 1: what you said about this guy with his his physical
- 5:20Speaker 1: talent or if he's going to develop, this guy has
- 5:22Speaker 1: always exude leadership and that's something that you can't fake,
- 5:25Speaker 1: that's something you can't instill in somebody. And he was
- 5:28Speaker 1: like that at Alabama, he's like at Oklahoma, and he
- 5:30Speaker 1: was like that at day one in Philadelphia. Remember the
- 5:33Speaker 1: Carson Wentz situation where guys have gravitated towards Jalen Hurts
- 5:37Speaker 1: because he exudes that brilliance and he exudes that leadership
- 5:41Speaker 1: that you just can't fake. Now the team trust him. Okay, Jalen,
- 5:45Speaker 1: Now you go develop that game all the field, and
- 5:48Speaker 1: Nick Serriani and that crew have done an outstanding job
- 5:51Speaker 1: of making it slow on him at first, but now
- 5:54Speaker 1: he has everything open to his disposal. He always looks
- 5:58Speaker 1: like he's in total control and total command in the
- 6:00Speaker 1: run game and the past game to go along with
- 6:04Speaker 1: bevy of playmakers. That he has best offensive line in football.
- 6:08Speaker 1: They can do everything on offense. And last night, I
- 6:10Speaker 1: mean that rushing output. You can see if they ripped
- 6:12Speaker 1: off a seven yard run, sixth yard run, it was
- 6:15Speaker 1: just they average seven point yards per carry. They just
- 6:17Speaker 1: gashed the Packers on offense. And that's what the arrest
- 6:20Speaker 1: of the league has the fear. And then you've got
- 6:22Speaker 1: the closers on defense too, and the Brandon Grahams and
- 6:25Speaker 1: the Son Reddicks and all that that crew. So this
- 6:28Speaker 1: Philly team could be the best in the league. And
- 6:30Speaker 1: we'll talk about that later. Who exactly is the best,
- 6:32Speaker 1: but wouldn't impressive performance by Jalen Hurts and just how
- 6:36Speaker 1: far he's come as a player. But the leadership has
- 6:39Speaker 1: always been there. And we'll talk about the Packers later
- 6:41Speaker 1: as well. Have not forgotten about their side of their
- 6:44Speaker 1: this thing and Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love. But but
- 6:46Speaker 1: a little bit more it hurts here, you know. It
- 6:48Speaker 1: seems that remember against Indianapolis James last week, for like
- 6:52Speaker 1: three quarters they did nothing and then at the end
- 6:54Speaker 1: it's like, all right, Jalen run around a little bit,
- 6:55Speaker 1: and they somehow stole that game and wanted on the road.
- 6:58Speaker 1: They were the better team clearly, um, and then that
- 7:01Speaker 1: seemingly bled over into the first half last night, where
- 7:05Speaker 1: any concerns they had in Indianapolis or in previous week's
- 7:08Speaker 1: kind of you know gone. Now, yeah, those have been eradicated.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Land Johnson told me that on the field that yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 1: I think we answered all of those questions and I
- 7:16Speaker 1: think what we saw was the most versatile maybe offense
- 7:20Speaker 1: we have in the NFL. On display and center Jason
- 7:23Speaker 1: Kelsey told us that after the game, and he's been
- 7:24Speaker 1: in this league for twelve years, he said, this is
- 7:26Speaker 1: the most versatile offense he's been a part of Obviously,
- 7:28Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts legs make a big part of that. But
- 7:30Speaker 1: he said, we can have a hundred and fifty yards
- 7:32Speaker 1: and three touchdowns for A J. Brown one week and
- 7:34Speaker 1: then the rushing output that we had this next week.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But what that does during the week, he said, is
- 7:39Speaker 1: it makes the game plan very complicated, It makes it
- 7:42Speaker 1: very creative, it makes it very fun at the same time.
- 7:44Speaker 1: But there's a lot that goes into it because they
- 7:46Speaker 1: have so many different moving pieces within it. But what
- 7:48Speaker 1: we saw mark was their ability to pound the football
- 7:51Speaker 1: and run the football. And A. J. Brown, who spent
- 7:53Speaker 1: time with Derrick Henry and Nashville, told me, when you
- 7:56Speaker 1: can do that, that is playoff football. When you can
- 7:59Speaker 1: break the will of your opponent, you can be that
- 8:01Speaker 1: physical football team that runs the football the way they do.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And you saw the Eagles are able to do that.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Nick Geranni was in the headset repeatedly to Shane Styke
- 8:09Speaker 1: in the offensive coordinator, run it again, run it again,
- 8:12Speaker 1: run it again. They can do this to teams and
- 8:14Speaker 1: they don't have to throw the football at times, and
- 8:15Speaker 1: let's playoff football. It is a forty two thirty three
- 8:19Speaker 1: win as the Eagles are the first to get to
- 8:22Speaker 1: ten wins. They are ten and one heading into week thirteen.
- 8:26Speaker 1: James Palmer, Mark Brosse, couple of Philly guys, and they stay.
- 8:29Speaker 1: The Eagles do a top the NFC standings. And I
- 8:32Speaker 1: mentioned there's a playoff clinching scenario. It's a four way
- 8:36Speaker 1: parlay for the Eagles in week thirteen. But if they win,
- 8:39Speaker 1: the Commanders lose, the Seahawks lose, and the Niners lose,
- 8:45Speaker 1: it means the Eagles are in in week thirteen. We
- 8:51Speaker 1: are in now with our insiders. He inter wrapped before
- 8:54Speaker 1: Tom Pilla, Sero, Gentlemens. Great to have you back on
- 8:57Speaker 1: the show. Thank you guys. As a Monday, not really
- 9:00Speaker 1: in right now, Tom. The Green Bay Packers they are
- 9:03Speaker 1: four and a. Jordan Love played well last night. Certainly
- 9:06Speaker 1: we heard Rogers say he wants to play as long
- 9:09Speaker 1: as they are in it. They're barely in it. What's
- 9:11Speaker 1: his injury status, Well, Andrew Aaron Rodgers says it is
- 9:16Speaker 1: a rib injury, not an oblique injury, as the initially
- 9:19Speaker 1: was announced the same area, of course of the body.
- 9:22Speaker 1: He said he took a hit in the first half
- 9:25Speaker 1: that also fell on the ribs on a different play
- 9:27Speaker 1: kind of got reactivated in the third quarter. That's why
- 9:30Speaker 1: he ended up going inside. He was struggling to breathe,
- 9:33Speaker 1: he was startling to rotate his body. He was worried
- 9:35Speaker 1: about did he have a punctured lung. Well, according to Rogers,
- 9:38Speaker 1: that concern was the suaves. He does not, in fact
- 9:41Speaker 1: have a punctured lung. But there's gonna be additional tests
- 9:45Speaker 1: today that usually involves a CT scans. You can check
- 9:47Speaker 1: for some of those tiny cracks in the ribs and
- 9:49Speaker 1: other things that would not turn up on an X ray. Now.
- 9:52Speaker 1: It was interesting listening to Rogers because he said, on
- 9:55Speaker 1: one hand, if everything checks so okay today, he expects
- 9:58Speaker 1: to be out there next week. But he also did
- 10:01Speaker 1: not exactly slam the door on the possibility that at
- 10:03Speaker 1: some point here he could be shut down if the
- 10:06Speaker 1: Packers want to get a look at Jordan's love again said,
- 10:09Speaker 1: as long as we're mathematically alive, I expect to be
- 10:12Speaker 1: out there. But just the idea of the two time
- 10:14Speaker 1: reigning NFL m v P who got a boatload of
- 10:17Speaker 1: money on a contract in the off season, is talking
- 10:19Speaker 1: about at this stage potentially a scenario where he's not
- 10:22Speaker 1: on the field toward the end of the season. That
- 10:24Speaker 1: kind of shows you the direction things have gone for
- 10:26Speaker 1: Green Bay here, yep, and Jordan Love looked a lot
- 10:29Speaker 1: different than the guy that had a start last year
- 10:31Speaker 1: at Arrowhead when Aaron Rodgers had COVID. At one point
- 10:35Speaker 1: last night we had love against hurts s Aaron Rodgers.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Who hurts today? Let's see how he is as the
- 10:40Speaker 1: week progresses. All right, Now, you saw that picture last night, right, Love?
- 10:45Speaker 1: You did see that I did No, I did just
- 10:48Speaker 1: just the lowest hanging fruit andrew that low hanging fruit.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Low hanging fruit would be like Jordan's love in the
- 10:54Speaker 1: City of Brotherly Love. That's low all right? Joking aside?
- 10:59Speaker 1: There love hurts see. Uh, yeah, it's a song that
- 11:08Speaker 1: was not planned. Let's and I mean this serious reset.
- 11:12Speaker 1: All right, Let's get to the Browns. Uh. Week thirteen
- 11:15Speaker 1: is finally here. The Browns pulled out an amazing victory
- 11:18Speaker 1: last night, came from behind beat Tom Brady and the
- 11:22Speaker 1: Bucketeers in overtime with Jacoby Brissette. But now we interrap reports.
- 11:26Speaker 1: This is DeShawn Watson's team again. Deshaun Watson will be
- 11:31Speaker 1: officially officially reinstated from his eleven games suspension for multiple
- 11:35Speaker 1: violations of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy. That will come
- 11:38Speaker 1: officially on the transaction notice distributed to the league at
- 11:43Speaker 1: four pm today, according to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy. So
- 11:47Speaker 1: that means it is officially over. He has complied with
- 11:50Speaker 1: all the terms of his suspension. He has met with
- 11:53Speaker 1: they met with counselors, he has done a treatment program,
- 11:56Speaker 1: he has paid five million dollars, he has served as
- 11:58Speaker 1: eleven games suspension after multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. That
- 12:03Speaker 1: We've spent more than a year talk king about the
- 12:05Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns, who have just wanted to stay in it,
- 12:09Speaker 1: stay connected, somehow still have a chance by the time
- 12:12Speaker 1: Watson gets back from his suspension, are still alive there.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Four and seven would take quite a run to make
- 12:17Speaker 1: a run at this thing. But the fact that they
- 12:20Speaker 1: have one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL. We'll
- 12:22Speaker 1: see if he's rusty or not. But the fact that
- 12:23Speaker 1: they have one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL
- 12:26Speaker 1: now again as their starter, ready to take all the
- 12:28Speaker 1: reps at least make the Browns on the football field
- 12:32Speaker 1: very injurgued and that first came will be has mentioned
- 12:34Speaker 1: here in Houston this coming week against the one win Texans.
- 12:37Speaker 1: It's an awkward and an uncomfortable situation for many here
- 12:40Speaker 1: as Jacobe Pricette leads the Browns to an emotional victory
- 12:43Speaker 1: and now Deshaun Watson gets tossed the keys and he
- 12:45Speaker 1: could be on the practice field for the first time
- 12:48Speaker 1: he has been out there the last two weeks, but
- 12:49Speaker 1: as the number one on Wednesday, all right, interesting one
- 12:54Speaker 1: here to look at in Miami because the Dolphins went
- 12:56Speaker 1: again tom yesterday and they had a lot of the
- 12:59Speaker 1: starters on the field in the second half with two
- 13:01Speaker 1: but not left tackle Tehron Armstead. This is want to
- 13:05Speaker 1: monitor how bad is that pack injury? Well under the
- 13:10Speaker 1: initial fear for torn Armstead was that this was a
- 13:12Speaker 1: torn peck, which at all likelihood would end his season.
- 13:15Speaker 1: It is still a significant injury. As in and I
- 13:18Speaker 1: reported yesterday, we were told it is a Grade two
- 13:21Speaker 1: peck strain, which means a partial tear can cause the deformity,
- 13:25Speaker 1: certainly can cause weakness. The three of us would be
- 13:27Speaker 1: in bed for about a month. But this is Arran Armstead,
- 13:30Speaker 1: who has played through a lot of different injuries, including
- 13:32Speaker 1: that toe that he's dealt with really this entire season.
- 13:35Speaker 1: He thought is penning further testing today that there is
- 13:38Speaker 1: some level of optimism here. It is gonna be something
- 13:40Speaker 1: he can rehab, pushed through and be back on the
- 13:43Speaker 1: field sooner than later. Another player trying to get back
- 13:46Speaker 1: in the field sooner rather than later. Tristan Worths, the
- 13:49Speaker 1: standard offensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When he
- 13:52Speaker 1: went down yesterday, it looked real bad. I know everybody
- 13:55Speaker 1: immediately was thinking maybe there's something broken. X rays were negative.
- 13:59Speaker 1: He had the m r I today. My understanding is
- 14:02Speaker 1: with that high ankle sprain, probably should miss about read
- 14:05Speaker 1: to four weeks, so serious, but maybe not one that
- 14:08Speaker 1: is as significant as it possibly could be. The knee
- 14:11Speaker 1: is fine, also good news there, So considering all the
- 14:14Speaker 1: different variables and all the different things this could have
- 14:16Speaker 1: been the fact that Trista Words probably gonna miss about
- 14:19Speaker 1: a month, I would say relatively good news for Tampa Bay. Yep.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Also good news for Tampa Bay the fact that as
- 14:24Speaker 1: they were losing in Cleveland, the Falcons were losing in Washington,
- 14:28Speaker 1: so they hang onto that leader. They still had the
- 14:30Speaker 1: head to head, but that is an ugly division there
- 14:32Speaker 1: in the NFC South. Tom, How's Darnell Mooney doing in Chicago? Lander?
- 14:36Speaker 1: It looked like Darnell Mooney was in a lot of
- 14:38Speaker 1: pain yesterday and as Et and I both reported it
- 14:41Speaker 1: last night, the expectation, pending further test today, is that
- 14:45Speaker 1: Mooney has suffered a season ending ankle injury. It sounds
- 14:48Speaker 1: like this is something that most likely is going to
- 14:51Speaker 1: require surgery. He has ligament damage in that ankle. So
- 14:55Speaker 1: a brutal end for Darnell Mooney, who has been one
- 14:58Speaker 1: of the most reliable targets for justin fields at the
- 15:00Speaker 1: time that Chicago is hoping to get its franchise quarterback
- 15:03Speaker 1: back on the field. Meanwhile, better news for the Jaguars,
- 15:06Speaker 1: and they're promising young running back Travis e t N.
- 15:09Speaker 1: According to coach Doug Peterson, this is not a recurrence
- 15:12Speaker 1: of the list frank injury a e t N had.
- 15:14Speaker 1: It's really, according to Peterson, just a foot spring. They
- 15:18Speaker 1: held him out yesterday as a precaution, just to make
- 15:21Speaker 1: sure they fully had their hands around that injury. Well.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Peterson says that they're hoping to eat him back into
- 15:26Speaker 1: practice this week. A good sign for e Tns availability
- 15:29Speaker 1: coming up this weekend and a good sign as well.
- 15:31Speaker 1: And Cincinnati Ian where it looks like Jamaar Chase is
- 15:34Speaker 1: back this week and long last. Jamaar Chase, the star
- 15:39Speaker 1: receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, is expected back dealing with
- 15:42Speaker 1: that hip injury. It was a label tear in the
- 15:44Speaker 1: hip along with some other associated damage. Pretty complicated, kind
- 15:48Speaker 1: of strange injury for Jamaar Chase. Actually tried to play
- 15:51Speaker 1: through it one game, then came out. Has been resting
- 15:54Speaker 1: and rehabbing for a little more than a month now.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Practice last week it went well, just wasn't quite ready.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Is expected to be ready this week. They faced the
- 16:02Speaker 1: Candidacy Chiefs in a big game for the team that
- 16:05Speaker 1: has won three in a row. Jamaar Chase expected back
- 16:08Speaker 1: for that all right, And they've won three in a
- 16:10Speaker 1: row with Adam three and one overall and very much
- 16:13Speaker 1: in the a f C playoff conversation tied for the
- 16:15Speaker 1: North with the Ravens back to the a f C East.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Mike White hit the layups. It was a layup line
- 16:23Speaker 1: yesterday in the rain at Netlife Stadium. So the Dolphins
- 16:33Speaker 1: have been great of late. They have not only won
- 16:35Speaker 1: four in a row. They've scored at least thirty in
- 16:37Speaker 1: their last three wins. What if I told you they
- 16:40Speaker 1: had thirty at the half. They didn't even have to
- 16:43Speaker 1: play a full half. Although to of was oddly out
- 16:46Speaker 1: there against the Texans after the break in the third quarter.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Here's a touchdown to Derham Smith to a runner around
- 16:52Speaker 1: in circle. Jerry Whoes kicking things on the sideline. This
- 16:55Speaker 1: game was thirty ten nothing at the half. It wasn't
- 17:00Speaker 1: just the offense, it was the defense as well. Look
- 17:02Speaker 1: at the big hit here by Eric row This wasn't
- 17:04Speaker 1: kind Alan's fault. Eric Rowle lights up Jordan's Aikins or
- 17:08Speaker 1: Atkins to beg your pardon, and Tavian Howard scores to
- 17:11Speaker 1: touch that. This is a laugh for thirty to fifteen.
- 17:18Speaker 1: As a team, you have to earn it down this stretch,
- 17:22Speaker 1: So this is this is as fun as it gets.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I'm really juiced for the guys. We have a team
- 17:28Speaker 1: that's very very tight, that is very ambitious, and that
- 17:33Speaker 1: is willing to work for it. And that's all you
- 17:35Speaker 1: could ask um, So very happy, very happy with with that,
- 17:39Speaker 1: and um, you know you just wish we could have
- 17:44Speaker 1: times the first half by two as opposed to dividing
- 17:49Speaker 1: it by zero. Okay, Dolphins haven't lost since Week six.
- 17:54Speaker 1: By the way, was Jordan Akins Nott, Jordan Atkins? That's
- 17:56Speaker 1: justin fields that Zack Wilson, one injured, one benched. It's raining.
- 18:00Speaker 1: It's Mike White, or is the back page The New
- 18:02Speaker 1: York Daily News named him yester Day morning, the White
- 18:06Speaker 1: Night coming to save the Jets season. Uh it was
- 18:10Speaker 1: a laugh for fourth career start for Mike White. Gets
- 18:13Speaker 1: help here from Garrett Wilson. The Jets up big, I
- 18:17Speaker 1: mean big early here. It's seventeen to ten. When Mike
- 18:25Speaker 1: White hits, of all people, I'd say, am More there
- 18:31Speaker 1: for the touchdown? You know what, This isn't the right
- 18:33Speaker 1: it's Elijah More. This is not the right shot sheet.
- 18:36Speaker 1: How about that Jets when Robert Salis smiling thirty one
- 18:39Speaker 1: to ten. He didn't need to be anybody but Mike White.
- 18:43Speaker 1: We didn't need to turn into the greatest show on
- 18:45Speaker 1: tour if we just needed We just wanted him to
- 18:47Speaker 1: play within himself and play effishent I thought he did that.
- 18:50Speaker 1: It was all your relatives chanting Mike White, or I
- 18:54Speaker 1: don't think you know, what is that like for you
- 18:56Speaker 1: to hear that again? You heard it last year? Also,
- 18:58Speaker 1: it's it's it's always cool. I'm not gonna sit here
- 19:00Speaker 1: and give you some quarterback cliche that I don't I'm
- 19:03Speaker 1: not focusing on that, which are times I'm not, But
- 19:06Speaker 1: towards the end of the game, I think it would
- 19:08Speaker 1: be a lot cooler if they didn't do it while
- 19:10Speaker 1: we were trying to snap the ball. It's very unique,
- 19:12Speaker 1: and I'm I'm not going to complain because every time
- 19:15Speaker 1: they are channing, things are going right for us, and
- 19:17Speaker 1: we normally end with a wind. So I don't want to.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I don't want to give them too much grief. All right, Look,
- 19:21Speaker 1: here's the point. Mike White and the Jets are good now.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Mike White and the Jets for a full season, I
- 19:29Speaker 1: don't know yet, but we can tell you this. They
- 19:32Speaker 1: lit it up yesterday. They lit it up yesterday, much
- 19:36Speaker 1: like they did when White came in mid season last year.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Mark Ross and and through for four d yards and
- 19:43Speaker 1: white Gold is another one here, the white lightning. Um,
- 19:48Speaker 1: I think we have what was we had great White Way,
- 19:53Speaker 1: also what they used to call Broadway back of its puenties.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Some thirty magic. Mike um got a lot going on here. Uh,
- 20:02Speaker 1: it worked yesterday, which felt good. Mark Ross. Look, that
- 20:07Speaker 1: game for the Jets were just kind of almost a
- 20:09Speaker 1: release of all the frustrations that they've had the whole
- 20:12Speaker 1: entire year with Zach Wilson. Mike White was gonna win
- 20:16Speaker 1: yesterday just from playing and not Zack Wilson, just the psyche,
- 20:19Speaker 1: the belief that the team has in him as opposed
- 20:23Speaker 1: to Wilson. And then on the on the field, he
- 20:26Speaker 1: could perform basic football throws that we haven't seen Zack
- 20:29Speaker 1: Wilson be able to do throughout the whole season. He
- 20:31Speaker 1: ran the offense efficiently. You saw Garrett Wilson make huge plays.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Elijah Moore, who I love, who's been his visible man
- 20:38Speaker 1: all year because that could get him the ball express
- 20:41Speaker 1: his frustration. He had some big plays yesterday. So that
- 20:44Speaker 1: for the Jets, which is the culmination of it all
- 20:46Speaker 1: coming together. Oh and by the way, it was against
- 20:48Speaker 1: a Bears team who is one of the worst defenses
- 20:51Speaker 1: in the league and was without justin Field, So it
- 20:53Speaker 1: was a perfect storm for the Jets. And of course
- 20:56Speaker 1: Mike White was gonna be better than Zack Wilson. But
- 20:58Speaker 1: the bigger picture is the rest of the season. Can
- 21:00Speaker 1: Mike White keep the Jets in playoff contention. We saw
- 21:04Speaker 1: the Mike White sparents last experience last year where he
- 21:07Speaker 1: threw from four or five against Cincinnati in a huge upset.
- 21:10Speaker 1: They're ready to paint murals of King of New York
- 21:12Speaker 1: murals with him next to Biggie Well. Then the next
- 21:15Speaker 1: game against the Colts, he had seven completions, and then
- 21:17Speaker 1: the next game against the Bills, he had four interceptions
- 21:20Speaker 1: and Mike White was done. So the next couple of
- 21:23Speaker 1: games for the Jets at Vikings, at Bill's then we
- 21:27Speaker 1: can talk about Mike White whether he's good enough to contend.
- 21:30Speaker 1: But yesterday was perfect for the Jets of the release
- 21:32Speaker 1: of emotion and believing in the guy. But the true
- 21:35Speaker 1: test is the rest of the season for Mike White,
- 21:37Speaker 1: if he's good enough for the Jets to make it
- 21:39Speaker 1: to the playoffs, because the rest of their schedule is brutal,
- 21:41Speaker 1: Andrew it is. It is brutal, but it was cathartic
- 21:45Speaker 1: yesterday in the bad conditions. Mike White played through those
- 21:48Speaker 1: bad conditions. You saw the emotion from his teammates. They
- 21:52Speaker 1: love that guy. But at Minnesota, at Buffalo, Detroit's not
- 21:56Speaker 1: a pushover, nor is Jacksonville. In Seattle then Miami. It
- 22:00Speaker 1: is a tough road here to the postseason for the Jets,
- 22:03Speaker 1: and Mike White's not give in that job back until
- 22:06Speaker 1: he falls on his face at least once or even
- 22:09Speaker 1: a few times. The Chiefs still the one seed, then
- 22:11Speaker 1: the Dolphins and Titans and the Ravens. But the Jets
- 22:14Speaker 1: are in right now. They are the seventh seed. Now,
- 22:17Speaker 1: they did jump into the seventh seed when New England
- 22:19Speaker 1: lost on Thanksgiving, but that's neither here nor there. They
- 22:21Speaker 1: held onto it with that light White performance yesterday not
- 22:26Speaker 1: pictured here. The Raiders and Ants off the Jacobs studers
- 22:31Speaker 1: to the right first of the He's off to the
- 22:35Speaker 1: races hearts, I don't know, but he's gonna catch him
- 22:38Speaker 1: ten ball game. But by Josh eighties, six yards and
- 22:44Speaker 1: overtime toutsdown Raiders victory Las Vegas. Uh, they're still doing
- 22:56Speaker 1: Jordan Love cut lines all right. Monday Night Football Steelers
- 23:00Speaker 1: and the Colts. Big night in Indie. Colt still want
- 23:03Speaker 1: to be part of the conversation to the a f
- 23:05Speaker 1: c UH Colts here first Monday Night game at home
- 23:10Speaker 1: in seven years. That's hard to believe. They get the
- 23:13Speaker 1: Steelers in there tonight. Jeff Saturday, Jonathan Taylor, Colts trying
- 23:19Speaker 1: to get to two in one under their new head coach,
- 23:21Speaker 1: speaking to Taylor Live now in Indianapolis with Taylor Bashotti
- 23:25Speaker 1: more on this one Hi Taylor. Hi I spoke to
- 23:29Speaker 1: Steelers defensive coordinator Trell Austin and asked him how the
- 23:32Speaker 1: Colts offense has changed since Jeff Fraser's took over as
- 23:37Speaker 1: head coach and since Parks Fraser took over play calling duties,
- 23:41Speaker 1: and he said that they put a renewed emphasis on
- 23:43Speaker 1: the run game. They've started putting the ball back in
- 23:46Speaker 1: the hands of their best player in Jonathan Taylor. He
- 23:49Speaker 1: said it's a completely different Colts offense now that Taylor
- 23:52Speaker 1: is healthy. He puts them in manageable third downs, keeping
- 23:55Speaker 1: them away from third and long's. He said it is
- 23:58Speaker 1: a recipe to win. Taylor has had back to back
- 24:01Speaker 1: games with over eighty yards rushing and a touchdown. He
- 24:05Speaker 1: said they Steelers know that they're going to have their
- 24:07Speaker 1: hands full when they're trying to stop Taylor. Their goal
- 24:10Speaker 1: is to try and keep him on the inside they
- 24:12Speaker 1: don't want to let him get on the outside because
- 24:14Speaker 1: Austin said, that's when defenses give up big plays to
- 24:17Speaker 1: Donathan Taylor. He also said that t J. Watt is
- 24:21Speaker 1: going to be a big factor in helping to stop Taylor.
- 24:24Speaker 1: He said that he's been back for a couple of
- 24:26Speaker 1: weeks now. He not only makes everyone else better around him,
- 24:29Speaker 1: but he's a player that makes plays that players just
- 24:31Speaker 1: aren't supposed to make. We saw that in the game
- 24:33Speaker 1: against the Bengals last week when he intercepted Joe Burrow. Yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 1: that Burrow was ridiculous. The look on burrows face tells
- 24:39Speaker 1: the story and got up Taylor the story in the
- 24:41Speaker 1: last couple of weeks as well, with forty four carries
- 24:43Speaker 1: in the last two games. Now, the Steelers story here
- 24:46Speaker 1: is a lot about Kenny Picket here Taylor, how is
- 24:49Speaker 1: he progressed the last couple of weeks. Well, it's his
- 24:53Speaker 1: first prime time game, and head coach Mike Tomlin said,
- 24:56Speaker 1: they like where he's at. He's progressing well, he's consistently
- 25:00Speaker 1: getting better, and they like the direction that he's going.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Kenny Pickett a big factor in this is that he's
- 25:06Speaker 1: not turning the ball over he's gone back to back
- 25:09Speaker 1: games without a turnover. I spoke to Cult Safety and
- 25:12Speaker 1: Rodney McCloud, and he said, whatever you're facing a quarterback,
- 25:15Speaker 1: the goal is to always create confusion and indecision, but
- 25:18Speaker 1: especially when you're facing a rookie quarterback because they haven't
- 25:22Speaker 1: seen as much in the NFL. He said that their
- 25:25Speaker 1: goal is going to be trying to create that confusion
- 25:27Speaker 1: with Pickett tonight, he said the most dangerous part about
- 25:30Speaker 1: Pickett is his ability to run and get outside the pocket.
- 25:33Speaker 1: They're gonna try and create the pressure to live it that.
- 25:36Speaker 1: He also said his chemistry with number fourteen, his rookie
- 25:40Speaker 1: receiver George Pickens, rookie out of Georgia. Ironically enough, pick
- 25:45Speaker 1: It and Pickens met just over six months ago here
- 25:48Speaker 1: in Indianapolis at the Combine. They became close. Pick It
- 25:52Speaker 1: said that pick Pickens said that pick Itt he liked
- 25:55Speaker 1: him immediately because he could tell that he wanted to
- 25:58Speaker 1: be great. Now after playing together, pick It said that
- 26:02Speaker 1: Pickens is hands down the best athlete that he's ever
- 26:05Speaker 1: played with. Pick It and pick Ins, it's a good combination.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Is that your playing twister? Right? Is is that your playlist? Yeah? Yeah,
- 26:13Speaker 1: the cheer routines going on with musical accompaniments live there
- 26:17Speaker 1: in Indianapolis head of Monday Night football. NFL Now is
