Waukee just cracked down on electric bikes and scooters—anything over 750 watts or hitting 39 mph is now classified like a moped, meaning no sidewalks or trails and full street rules: license, registration, insurance required. Regular e-bikes and scooters can still use sidewalks and trails, but stay on paved paths in parks, and default to 20 mph on streets without posted limits.
