- 0:00I was going to clap but I'm not going to clap.
- 0:02It's a Friday to five things. Friday.
- 0:04UK it is. Simone.
- 0:19Hello. It's been a couple of weeks
- 0:21since I've heard that music in a.
- 0:22Couple of weeks we've got you back.
- 0:24I had to do a show all by myself.
- 0:26It was very nobly. I was like, which way?
- 0:31Welcome back. Thank.
- 0:33You. We're busy.
- 0:35Busy, busy, busy, busy. But it's good to be back and you
- 0:40see you've busy around. Busy as usual as well.
- 0:44Yeah, I was in the last action. I thought I was in Las Vegas
- 0:48last week. Yeah, Shock talk Spring, which
- 0:51I'm not going to talk about, but you know, because this is the UK
- 0:53show, who cares about what's happening in America?
- 0:56But it was OK Who are you smell? What do you do?
- 0:58Hi, I'm Simone, I'm the Co founder and CEO.
- 1:01I've made it for tonight. So Oslo and his NEFT, we have
- 1:04the infrastructure that powers instant delivery or retail.
- 1:09We do this through a marketplace app, which is kind of like
- 1:11delivery but for quality fashion.
- 1:13And then we also have AB2B plug in as well for different
- 1:16retailers. Yeah, formerly known as Dave.
- 1:19It's like you. Know Dave is retired.
- 1:21It's not enough to be, to be. We don't know, Dave.
- 1:25They were sent 2020. You do 5 things in under 15
- 1:30minutes. We're going to start with you
- 1:32with Selfridges. Yeah, so I love this one.
- 1:36I always love going in Selfridges.
- 1:38I feel like I could just spend the day there.
- 1:40Bank balance doesn't like it though.
- 1:41But this one is Selfridges have launched a new corner shock pop
- 1:46up with golden goose. Golden goose of the very cool
- 1:49trainers for anybody that doesn't know.
- 1:52And what we're doing is you've basically turned it into this
- 1:55Italian fruit market. Very aesthetic, very Instagram,
- 2:00very much. I'm popping in for a Peach and
- 2:02leaving with Fondre pair of trainers.
- 2:07But it's actually quite clever. I mean, you go in and it's
- 2:09obviously super beautiful. It's Selfridges.
- 2:11But the whole thing is that you can shop the latest golden goose
- 2:15trainers and it's really built around personalization.
- 2:18So you can go and you can customise your trainers with
- 2:20charms, with pins, embellishments, and there's lots
- 2:23of different workshops as well. It's all very hands on.
- 2:27And yeah, I just thought Golden Goose was the perfect brand to
- 2:30to do this with. You know, they're very
- 2:33individual, they're very different, but still, obviously.
- 2:36Welcome. But yeah, I just really loved
- 2:40it. Always bang on about retail
- 2:42being a bit of a theatre destination, and this is a a
- 2:45real good example of that. So, you know, I was just going
- 2:49to say, if you're going into Selfridges, definitely pop in.
- 2:52Yeah, so their corner shop is their sort of space for pop ups.
- 2:56Yeah, which is? Perfect.
- 2:57And the fact that we've got Prada are also doing a pop up
- 3:00over Easter at Selfridges. So it was like well done
- 3:04Selfridges for doing them, you know, get getting that balance
- 3:07of delight and industry and entertainment, right?
- 3:11Because not only have they got a dedicated pop up space, they're
- 3:14doing pop ups with brands like Prada.
- 3:16This is a pop up in Selfridges from the 2nd to the 15th of
- 3:19April, Prada experience having some of them.
- 3:23Obviously I use all of these brands like Platoscope Banada,
- 3:26but again, it's a cracking estimate to using specifically
- 3:34over holiday period where people are going to be flocking to
- 3:37London and you know whenever it's going to be pedestrianised,
- 3:42which will be this is Lao Lao on TikTok or Instagram.
- 3:49This is Instagram, so I'll put the video in the show notes, but
- 3:53this pop up at Prada, sorry at 7, which is with Prada is from
- 3:58the 2nd April coming back to well, actually this is both of
- 4:02us really peachy then. I can't claim to know this
- 4:05brand, but I know you do. Very cool.
- 4:07DNC brand. That's all I'm gonna say.
- 4:10Very cool. Yeah.
- 4:11OK. So they're opening up their
- 4:13second store, which for me is interesting because this is all
- 4:16about 90s fashion or sort of a nod the 90s and 2000s.
- 4:21And they they're so brand strategy is Part 2.
- 4:24And we've spoken about this many times about the store being a
- 4:27community hub or cheeky approach, the women and then
- 4:32action store will Brewer St in Soho, the second store after
- 4:38Shoreditch. So is this a brand that we've
- 4:40got to watch that's doing the right things, making the right
- 4:43signals? I don't know if there's stuff
- 4:44that you would wear, but you know, it's, again, it's a very
- 4:47niche brand and I don't know if it's it, will it export well to,
- 4:52for example, the UX and the world, But it's an interesting
- 4:56one to watch. It's very Soho.
- 4:58I think we've been very smart to host on Brewer Street.
- 5:02I can't think of better location for, for that brand, to be
- 5:04honest. But yeah, I, I like the brand.
- 5:07It's, it's not all super me, but I, I like it.
- 5:10And I know they do have a a really strong community
- 5:14actually. Is it luxury?
- 5:15Just sound curious so. I would.
- 5:17I would. I think it's more contemporary
- 5:19price point. It's there we go.
- 5:22Yeah, yeah. OK.
- 5:23No, no, very Scandinavian. This is very London.
- 5:26Very London. It's a little bit Urban
- 5:28Outfitters, but yeah. You know.
- 5:30Yeah. New look, new look and launching
- 5:35their concept store. They, they originally announced
- 5:39this last year, but basically they expanding.
- 5:42I don't know if they walk, they are maybe already in the
- 5:44Gateshead, but they're in the local in the metro centre in
- 5:47Gateshead and an 11,000 square foot store, which is quite
- 5:51large. It's called an Omni hub designed
- 5:54to integrate physical and digital.
- 5:55And and to be fair to new look, they have been talking about
- 5:58this for for a long while as part of a strategy for all their
- 6:01stores. This thought specifically is
- 6:05their concept store. And you can get things like
- 6:07click and collect, self-service, ecolus, drop off returns,
- 6:11digital browsing, quick displays, order in store and
- 6:15showroom style type features. So interesting, I think for a
- 6:19everyday fashion brand to invest in technology so heavily
- 6:25specifically, and so many brands like HM closing stores and and
- 6:30looking how they're reformatting, it feels like new
- 6:32looks leading into the tech experience.
- 6:35And so their concept store in Gateshead is a great example.
- 6:40Finishing with you. Yes, so this one caught my eye.
- 6:44Is that Dyson opening in Easter Village or have opened?
- 6:49Yeah. One or the other, the opening or
- 6:51they have often, but Dyson is one of those brands that
- 6:54obviously they they do sales, but they're not.
- 6:57But I think it's more kind of like Black Friday that they're
- 7:00quite controls. You know, you don't really
- 7:02associate then well with an outlet or rummaging through an
- 7:06outlet for a deal. So seeing them and Vista feels
- 7:08like a bit of a shift, but I think a smart shift because, you
- 7:11know, outlets aren't really just about clearance anymore.
- 7:14You know, they really are discovery channels and
- 7:17especially for places like Vista.
- 7:19I mean, Vista is more of AI guess a luxury kind of 1.
- 7:23You know, there's a lot of tourists, a lot of high
- 7:25spenders, people maybe who wouldn't walk into a Dyson star
- 7:29on the High Street. So I do think it makes quite a
- 7:31lot of sense. I do as well just thinking about
- 7:34Dyson. I mean, obviously Dyson might be
- 7:37known for Hoover's and electronics, but then they
- 7:39obviously tacked into beauty and they've got the the Dyson Air
- 7:42app, which is about 500 lbs pretty expensive.
- 7:48And what we do see is, you know, you go on Instagram and you go
- 7:52on TikTok, and quite often you're hit with these Dyson
- 7:55dupes. For. 1/4 of the price, you know,
- 7:59it might be 100 lbs for this Dyson dupes.
- 8:02So I think it's actually needed, you know, if they want to still
- 8:06carry on tapping into that younger audience, there's going
- 8:09to be Dyson dupes a fraction of the price.
- 8:12People aren't going to stay loyal to them.
- 8:14So I think this is a really smart way to be able to still
- 8:16capture maybe that younger customer or any customer really
- 8:20who is very value conscious. Yeah, no, I love it.
- 8:23I mean, I so I think it's an interesting play because they
- 8:27open their I don't know when they open their Madrid one, but
- 8:30they were in the mid because Mr Village obviously own all the
- 8:33outlets across. Yeah, I don't know if it's
- 8:35across Europe, but I know they're in Spain and in the and
- 8:39they opened the Dyson 1 and I went in there and it's very
- 8:41similar to the New York store in terms of the look and feel of
- 8:44the store. Yeah, not that much cheaper,
- 8:47gotta be honest. But you know, you can pick up
- 8:50some deals and bargains and if you go in at the right time,
- 8:53you'll get get the right price. But I think it's a fantastic
- 8:57thing that you're highlighting about how do you move into value
- 9:00or not, not not displace your pricing strategy.
- 9:05And as you said, this is a great sort of signal of going into and
- 9:08outlet village, which is a testament to outlet villages and
- 9:11how they are surviving and doing well during this sort of weird
- 9:16economy that we're in. You know, food inflation maybe
- 9:18up to 9%, store closures are still happening.
- 9:21How do you keep that excitement and keep people coming into the
- 9:24brand that still want to buy into your brand without going
- 9:27off the juice, as you said? I think it's a second point, OK,
- 9:31We did really well. I think we're just under 10
- 9:33minutes so. Wow, Speedy.
- 9:36Yeah, really good. OK, Simone, until next week.
- 9:38Thank you so much. Thanks, Alex.
- 9:40See you next week.
