- 0:00Happy Sunday morning, everybody. It's a special day.
- 0:05I think you all know what it is. That's right.
- 0:10Spring forward or whatever they call it, respond right here.
- 0:15All I know is the alarm went off this morning.
- 0:20I looked at the clock and it said 7:00 in the morning.
- 0:24Then I looked at my phone and it was 8:00 AM.
- 0:27Hey, let's leave the time like this, right?
- 0:31Who all agrees? Raise your hand.
- 0:33Raise your coffee mug. I like it when it gets dark at
- 0:38about 9:00 at night. I don't like it when it gets
- 0:42dark at 4:50 in the day. Oh yeah, let's, let's leave this
- 0:52this daylight saving time just the way it is right now.
- 0:57OK, today's a big day. Kim and myself are headed to
- 1:02Charlotte, NC Going to do a lot, going to do a lot.
- 1:07Going to go down and see my Mama Judy.
- 1:10Kim and myself are going to stay with my mom and love on my mom.
- 1:14And then we're going to go to brother Mike's birthday get
- 1:17together. Let me see.
- 1:19I think Mike is going to turn 67.
- 1:22So we're going to celebrate his birthday now.
- 1:26We're going to go down in the pickup truck with the trailer on
- 1:29the back. And up in the front of the
- 1:31trailer is Kim's trike. And then behind the trike is my
- 1:36race car. Oh, yeah, baby, we're going to
- 1:39we're going to get a lot done down there in Charlotte, NC.
- 1:44Do you know I live there? We lived there for 27 years.
- 1:47Oh, yeah. So we're going to unload that
- 1:51race car at Nick Hoffman's Elite Chassis.
- 1:54I'll be spending the days with Nick.
- 1:56We're going to do a couple updates on it and then we're
- 2:00going to put a brand new body on my dirt car.
- 2:03Oh yeah, and I'm excited about that.
- 2:07Then the trike is going to get unloaded at Southern Country
- 2:10Custom. Steve and the boys there at
- 2:13Southern Country Custom, Josh, they're going to do a once over
- 2:17on it and then they're going to take it to the Kyle Petty
- 2:20Charity Ride. They got a couple big tractor
- 2:23trailers and the tractor trailer will take the motorcycles all
- 2:27the way out to San Francisco, CA Yep.
- 2:32Kim and I will fly out there May 1st.
- 2:35The 30th annual Kyle Petty Charity Ride would take off from
- 2:39the racetrack out there. Sears Point, Sonoma, whatever,
- 2:43whatever name it is. Now we're going to travel all
- 2:47the way across the United States, and it's going to end
- 2:49right there at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, or as they call
- 2:54the new 1010 track right next door to the Charlotte Motor
- 2:58Speedway is where it's going to end.
- 3:01Oh, long monologue. I don't like that.
- 3:07OK, we got a couple big subjects.
- 3:11IndyCar takes advantage of the NASCAR crowd.
- 3:16And Bull, we got a juicy one. We got a juicy 1.
- 3:20Joe Gibbs suing past crew chief Chris Gabe hard drink coffee.
- 3:32Let's go with the juicy one first, OK?
- 3:37Remember what I said back in the Perry Mason days, for you kids
- 3:41that don't know this was, you know, like law firm stuff, you
- 3:45know, you being the court, Perry Mason, them, they would say
- 3:49that's hearsay. You don't know that.
- 3:52Well, yesterday, on Saturday, breaking news in the garage
- 3:58area. Joe Gibbs.
- 4:01Joe Gibbs, like the old days. Joe Gibbs hired a private
- 4:04investigator. Oh, yeah.
- 4:07Joe Gibbs hired a private investigator to investigate and
- 4:12spy on Chris Gabehart. Oh yeah, right out of the damn
- 4:18movies. And there it is, pictures and
- 4:20all. Chris Gabehart talking with some
- 4:25people that maybe he shouldn't have been talking to, I guess
- 4:30while he was working for Joe Gibbs.
- 4:37Is it hearsay now or were they just, what, doing?
- 4:40Whatever, I'll tell you what the one thing I love about NASCAR is
- 4:46it truly is like a soap opera. It really is.
- 4:50No, I'm not acting silly. I mean it really is.
- 4:53It's like that. We should have a NASCAR segment
- 4:56cause called As the World Turns. If it's not Michael Jordan's
- 5:03suing NASCAR, it's Joe Gibson, the damn crew chief.
- 5:08Now here's my opinion on that. OK?
- 5:17It is a my opinion that Coach Joe Gibbs is going after a
- 5:22precedence because I guess he's asking for $1,000,000 or
- 5:26whatever it is from Chris Gaybar.
- 5:28Well, they know Chris doesn't have that kind of money.
- 5:32OK, now you're going to say, well, what makes you think Chris
- 5:34Gaybar doesn't have that kind of money?
- 5:36He was making 1,000,000 a year. Well, that's why, because he was
- 5:40only making a million a year. Hey, a million a year sounds
- 5:44like a lot of money, but by the time you pay taxes and you know,
- 5:48you do what you do, it's it's good money, but you know it.
- 5:53Let's put it this way. Chris might have to go borrow
- 5:57some money to pay if he loses. Now, I'm I'm not saying he's
- 6:03going to lose this, you know, I'm sure Chris Gaybar got some
- 6:07really good attorneys and ready to go.
- 6:09But I believe that this is Coach Joe gives away to set a
- 6:14precedence among the sport. Coach Joe Gibbs wants to win
- 6:19this against Gay Barton. Go there.
- 6:21Don't any crew chiefs try that again.
- 6:27They're saying that Chris strategized leaving Coach Joe
- 6:34Gibbs gathered up, gathered up all this information, was going
- 6:37to take all the, you know, the information with him.
- 6:42And now the new one says that he's trying to was going to
- 6:46scheme to take some sponsors with them too.
- 6:49So this thing gets juicy. Will be paying attention to it,
- 6:53switching subjects. I noticed something yesterday.
- 7:01On Saturday, IndyCar was extremely proud of themselves.
- 7:07Pictures all over from IndyCar. IndyCar was definitely proud of
- 7:12the crowd and it was a great crowd.
- 7:14It was a great crowd, but the IndyCar people were like, this
- 7:18is the biggest crowd in IndyCar history besides the Indianapolis
- 7:23500. We don't count the Indianapolis
- 7:26500. Everybody in IndyCar said this
- 7:30is unbelievable. See, usually IndyCar races in in
- 7:34front of a very weak crowd. IndyCar is awesome, I love it,
- 7:40But usually their crowds are a lot weaker.
- 7:44Ever since Eric Shanks and everybody there at Foxy, Fox
- 7:50Sports bought a third of IndyCar, Rodger Penske told Eric
- 7:55Shanks. We'll sell you a third.
- 7:58So IndyCar is owned by Fox Sports, 1/3 of it.
- 8:04And then that means Rodger, Rodger Penske owns the the rest
- 8:09of IndyCar. Great decision by Rodger Penske.
- 8:14I'm sure it's in there that you know, IndyCar can never take
- 8:17over, but they have a say. So, so there was an IndyCar
- 8:24NASCAR weekend and on Saturday they they qualified those Cup
- 8:30cars in the morning. Joey Logano gets QuickTime and
- 8:35then they have the IndyCar race. It looked good.
- 8:38I think it could work, and here's why.
- 8:42Because we love the O'Reilly Auto Parts series.
- 8:46We love that. But they're both kind of the
- 8:50same type of racing, you know what I mean?
- 8:52They're both sedans, They're both cars.
- 8:56This gives the fans a chance to look at something really
- 9:00different. It's like, damn, here's IndyCar
- 9:02racing and here's stock car racing and it just might work.
- 9:08And then also with Fox Sports owning a third, that's they're
- 9:13more invested. Oh yeah, Fox Sports is going to
- 9:16be way more invested. They're going to try harder if
- 9:20there's such as that, but they're going to try harder.
- 9:23They're going to up the game on the whole damn weekend.
- 9:27Respond right here. I've given you my opinion.
- 9:31All right, everybody, Kim and I are going to get into Toyota
- 9:35Tundra and we're going to head down South here in a little bit.
- 9:39I'll see all my friends down there in Charlotte, but
- 9:42remember, in the daytime I'll be helping Nick Hoffman on the race
- 9:45car. Have a great Sunday, everybody.
