0:01
Speaker 1: Welcome.
0:01
Speaker 2: It is Verdict with center, Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with
0:04
Speaker 2: you as well, and we've got a very big show
0:06
Speaker 2: for you.
0:07
Speaker 1: As we're recording right now.
0:08
Speaker 2: You love to time stamp it center, so I'm going
0:10
Speaker 2: to let you have the honors on that. But we
0:12
Speaker 2: get to talk about what's happened with this deal, and
0:15
Speaker 2: some of the understanding of what's in the deal has
0:17
Speaker 2: now come to light with a rant.
0:20
Speaker 3: Well, it is twelve forty five am Tuesday night, and Ben,
0:24
Speaker 3: I guess was stuck on an airport or airplane somewhere.
0:27
Speaker 3: So so welcome back.
0:29
Speaker 1: Once it was me.
0:30
Speaker 2: I feel very proud right now that I am the
0:32
Speaker 2: reason why you had to wait a little bit, because
0:34
Speaker 2: you see, it's the other way around sixty four other days.
0:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'm just saying I spent two hours in
0:39
Speaker 3: my DC apartment staring at the wall. So it's good
0:42
Speaker 3: to be with you. Welcome back. I a thinking you
0:45
Speaker 3: were like in Vegas dancing with Chippendale's or something, except.
0:49
Speaker 1: It was with you last night.
0:51
Speaker 2: I literally almost could have done the show before I
0:53
Speaker 2: left at that point.
0:54
Speaker 3: It's true that would have happily worked.
0:56
Speaker 4: All right.
0:57
Speaker 3: We got a lot to talk about We're going to
1:00
Speaker 3: start by talking about Georgia and a big result in
1:04
Speaker 3: the Georgia governor's race. Then we're gonna talk about Iran
1:07
Speaker 3: and what's the deal with this new Iran deal? And
1:12
Speaker 3: there are a lot of questions, a lot of people
1:14
Speaker 3: are wondering. We're gonna break it down based on what
1:16
Speaker 3: we know and what it means. Is this a good thing,
1:19
Speaker 3: is it a bad thing? What are the consequences, what
1:21
Speaker 3: comes next? We're gonna give you all the details on that,
1:24
Speaker 3: all of that on today's pod.
1:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a shocking news story there that has just broken.
1:30
Speaker 2: We'll have it for you in a moment. Before we
1:32
Speaker 2: get to that, I do want to talk to you
1:33
Speaker 2: about what's happening right now in this country, and it
1:36
Speaker 2: really feels like our country is finally getting the momentum
1:38
Speaker 2: we needed again. Our leaders are fighting to restore common
1:42
Speaker 2: sense in America first, but we've also seen this before.
1:46
Speaker 2: Conservatives get comfortable, the left starts taking background inch by inch,
1:51
Speaker 2: and we cannot let that happen in these midterm elections.
1:55
Speaker 2: America needs every one of us in the fight, and
1:57

3:30
Speaker 2: All right, So, as promised, we are going to talk
3:32
Speaker 2: a lot about a Randy Randial. But there is a
3:34
Speaker 2: story that is not being covered that is an important story,
3:37
Speaker 2: and that is there was actually an election in Georgia.
3:41
Speaker 2: You were involved in it. You went down to Georgia.
3:43
Speaker 2: Was that yesterday or the day before? Every day's running
3:45
Speaker 2: together now with with the with the flight times and
3:47
Speaker 2: you know, whatever time it is in the morning as
3:49
Speaker 2: we speak. But you were just there and made an
3:52
Speaker 2: endorsement there or couple actually in Georgia. What has happened there?
3:55
Speaker 2: And what does this mean for the control of power
3:58
Speaker 2: in DC?
3:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, so it was yesterday and there was a The
4:04
Speaker 3: Georgia primaries were tonight Tuesday night in Georgia, and in
4:08
Speaker 3: the governor's race, you had a guy named Rick Jackson,
4:12
Speaker 3: who's a very successful businessman who was running against Burt Jones,
4:16
Speaker 3: who's the lieutenant governor. And early on President Trump had
4:20
Speaker 3: endorsed Burt Jones, and just a few days ago I
4:24
Speaker 3: endorsed Rick Jackson, and that caused the press to like
4:28
Speaker 3: the tongues to wag and be like, oh, this is
4:31
Speaker 3: a big conflict. I will say, Look, my approach on
4:36
Speaker 3: endorsements is Number One, I endorse the most conservative candidate
4:41
Speaker 3: who can win. Yeah, and so I want to see
4:44
Speaker 3: proven evidence that you're conservative, but I also want to
4:47
Speaker 3: see that you can win, that you got a path
4:49
Speaker 3: to victory, not just in the primary but in the general.
4:52
Speaker 3: Number Two, I tend to get involved in races late
4:55
Speaker 3: late to that. That's my philosophical approach is that I
4:58
Speaker 3: try to get involved right before election day, hopefully at
5:03
Speaker 3: a time when the election is close and my involvement
5:07
Speaker 3: can make a difference, it can move someone into victory.
5:10
Speaker 3: And so I jumped in this race just a few
5:12
Speaker 3: days ago. Yesterday, the day before the election, I flew
5:16
Speaker 3: down to Georgia to Atlanta, did a big rally with Rick,
5:21
Speaker 3: and I got to say, so Rick's story. Let me
5:23
Speaker 3: tell you a little bit about the guy. And I
5:25
Speaker 3: did not know him until the last few days, but
5:28
Speaker 3: I looked at his record, I examined it, I talked
5:30
Speaker 3: to people who knew him, and I made the decision
5:32
Speaker 3: to endorse it. So his story. He grew up in
5:37
Speaker 3: a broken home in the projects in Atlanta, poverty, dysfunction.
5:44
Speaker 3: As a young boy, he ran away from home. He
5:47
Speaker 3: ended up going into the foster home system as a child.
5:53
Speaker 3: He had five foster families, so that's what he came
5:57
Speaker 3: out of. He then went on to college, spent I
6:01
Speaker 3: think a little over a year in college, dropped out
6:03
Speaker 3: of college, did not succeed in college, and he went
6:07
Speaker 3: and got a job. This is a cool story. So
6:09
Speaker 3: he went and interviewed to work for a company that
6:13
Speaker 3: was engaged in healthcare sales. He did the interview, he
6:16
Speaker 3: did pretty well, and then the guy interviewing him said,
6:19
Speaker 3: I'm sorry. Look, we only hire people who have college degrees.
6:23
Speaker 3: You dropped out of college. We're not going to hire you.
6:25
Speaker 3: And Rick said, okay, that's fine. He said, can I
6:28
Speaker 3: ask you, just out of curiosity, what did the job pay?
6:32
Speaker 3: And the guy said, well, it paid fifteen hundred dollars
6:36
Speaker 3: a month plus thirty three percent of all the sales
6:39
Speaker 3: you make. And Rick came back. He said, I'll tell
6:43
Speaker 3: you what, how about if you don't pay me the
6:46
Speaker 3: fifteen hundred dollars a month, don't pay me anything, but
6:50
Speaker 3: just give me the thirty three percent of the sales,
6:53
Speaker 3: and the guy kind of laughed. He said, well, that
6:55
Speaker 3: sounds like a good deal. I don't have anything to
6:57
Speaker 3: lose on that, do I. So he hired it even
6:59
Speaker 3: though he didn't have a college. He came in and
7:02
Speaker 3: was a monster salesman. Ended up making so much money
7:07
Speaker 3: that within two years he bought the company that had
7:11
Speaker 3: hired him. Wow, and he ends up building this company
7:16
Speaker 3: into a massive, multi billion dollar healthcare company in Georgia.
7:22
Speaker 3: He's one of the biggest employers in the state of Georgia.
7:26
Speaker 3: Incredibly successful businessman, self built from nothing. Yeah, he now
7:33
Speaker 3: has been an incredibly generous philanthropist. He's decided, look, I
7:37
Speaker 3: don't want to take He's worth several billion dollars, he's
7:39
Speaker 3: very successful, and he said, I don't want to take
7:42
Speaker 3: this money with me, so I'm going to give it
7:44
Speaker 3: away and make a difference to the world around me. So,
7:47
Speaker 3: for example, on foster care, he has given millions to
7:51
Speaker 3: help foster kids in Georgia. So kids that are in
7:55
Speaker 3: foster care, he'll come in and say, you know what,
7:57
Speaker 3: I'm going to pay for you to college. I'm going
7:59
Speaker 3: to pay for your expenses I'm going to help you
8:01
Speaker 3: get started because he's been there. Look, so many foster
8:05
Speaker 3: kids that they've been subject to horrible conditions. They've often
8:09
Speaker 3: been subject to abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse. They're the
8:13
Speaker 3: kids that it seems sometimes society gives up one. And
8:19
Speaker 3: he understands firsthand. Look, you can be in that circumstance
8:22
Speaker 3: and you can make something of your life and make
8:24
Speaker 3: a real difference. And so he's invested in these kids
8:28
Speaker 3: that have every disadvantage. I'm going to help them achieve
8:33
Speaker 3: their dreams. He's also funded Christian ministries all over the world.
8:36
Speaker 3: For example, he's funded a Christian orphanage in China that
8:43
Speaker 3: my understanding is it's the lone orphanage that's able to
8:46
Speaker 3: teach Christianity in China. So he's he's putting, look, you
8:50
Speaker 3: and I are both Christians. It's one thing to have
8:53
Speaker 3: empty words. It's one thing to say you have faith.
8:57
Speaker 3: It's another thing to put your faith to act, to
9:00
Speaker 3: put to invest and make a difference. And and Rick decided, Okay,
9:05
Speaker 3: I'm going to run for governor because I think I
9:07
Speaker 3: can make a difference. And I looked at at his
9:10
Speaker 3: record and I said, this guy has an incredible, I mean,
9:14
Speaker 3: an inspirational life story, and I think he can win,
9:17
Speaker 3: and so I endorsed him. I went down we did
9:21
Speaker 3: a big rally in Georgia, and I'm gonna give you
9:23
Speaker 3: some fun behind the scenes story. So as we're coming in,
9:27
Speaker 3: I fly down there on Monday, We're going to the rally,
9:30
Speaker 3: and trumpet endorsed his opponent, this guy named Burt Jones.
9:34
Speaker 3: I don't know Burt Jones. I'm sure he's a perfectly
9:36
Speaker 3: decent and fine man.
9:37
Speaker 1: He's the lieutenant He endorsed early, right, so people understand.
9:41
Speaker 3: Yes, he endorsed early before Rick was in the race,
9:45
Speaker 3: and I understand.
9:46
Speaker 1: Look that's a key point.
9:47
Speaker 2: Yeah, he went for who he thought at the time
9:50
Speaker 2: the other guy wasn't in yet.
9:51
Speaker 3: Yeah, Jones was the lieutenant governor, he was running, and
9:53
Speaker 3: so Trump endorsed early. Rick wasn't in the race. So
9:57
Speaker 3: so Rick was actually at the White House a big
10:00
Speaker 3: fundraiser this weekend, and you know, Trump was saying, Hey,
10:03
Speaker 3: this guy's great, he's awesome, he's incredibly successful. I didn't
10:07
Speaker 3: know him, but he was like praising him vocally at
10:09
Speaker 3: this fundraiser this weekend. As I'm flying in, I'm headed
10:15
Speaker 3: to the event and we get the news that Donald
10:19
Speaker 3: Trump Junior is going to endorse Rick Jackson. Now that's
10:23
Speaker 3: a big deal because the main argument against him, what
10:26
Speaker 3: everyone was pounding him, is that Trump, Trump the Dad,
10:30
Speaker 3: had endorsed his opponent. You know, tons of campaign ads
10:33
Speaker 3: saying Trump picked the other guy. And we get the
10:36
Speaker 3: news that Don Junior was going to endorse Rick, and
10:38
Speaker 3: it was actually fun. As I'm headed to the event,
10:41
Speaker 3: the campaign said, hey, do you want to announce Don
10:45
Speaker 3: Junior's endorsement and listen, Don Junior is a buddy of mine.
10:49
Speaker 3: I know him very well. And I was like, yeah, sure,
10:51
Speaker 3: And I said, look, I just want to help your campaign,
10:54
Speaker 3: So if it's helpful for me to announce it, I'm
10:56
Speaker 3: happy to. If it's not, like, it's your call, but
10:59
Speaker 3: I'm more than happy to. And they ended up deciding
11:04
Speaker 3: that Don Junior the actual endorsement statement was not going
11:08
Speaker 3: to use the word endorse, but was going to praise
11:10
Speaker 3: him as like he's a great patriot. I know him
11:13
Speaker 3: well and he's fantastic and he's America first, and the
11:18
Speaker 3: timing ended up working out. I said, sure, I'm happy
11:20
Speaker 3: to announce it. But then they didn't end up approving
11:23
Speaker 3: the statement for another two hours, and it just look,
11:25
Speaker 3: it takes some time when you're right before an election
11:27
Speaker 3: and you're trying to decide going through a political operation,
11:30
Speaker 3: it takes some time to approve it. So I said,
11:32
Speaker 3: I'm happy to announce it. It wasn't finalized, so I
11:35
Speaker 3: did not, in fact announce it from the stage. But
11:39
Speaker 3: right after I left, Don Junior tweeted out the support
11:43
Speaker 3: and tonight Rick ended up winning. The margin as of
11:49
Speaker 3: tonight nine to nine percent is in is fifty two
11:52
Speaker 3: point six percent to forty seven four percent. It's a
11:57
Speaker 3: great victory, and I think so one of the cases
12:01
Speaker 3: I made to the voters. We had a big, big
12:03
Speaker 3: rally in Georgia, and I said, listen that Rick's life
12:06
Speaker 3: story is incredible. He's campaigning on a promise number one,
12:11
Speaker 3: to immediately freeze property taxes in Georgia. That's big number two,
12:17
Speaker 3: on income taxes, to cut the Georgia income tax in half,
12:23
Speaker 3: and ultimately to work to abolish it all together. And
12:25
Speaker 3: what Rick has said is he said if he doesn't
12:29
Speaker 3: succeed in freezing the property taxes and cutting the income
12:32
Speaker 3: tax in half, he will not run for reelection. He
12:35
Speaker 3: will serve one term. If he fails in that, he's
12:37
Speaker 3: not running for reelection. And I made a point to everyone.
12:40
Speaker 3: I said, listen, I've got a crazy secret here. Rick
12:45
Speaker 3: is rich. Like everyone laughs, I'm like, yeah, look, this
12:48
Speaker 3: is an incredibly successful dude. He could play golf every day.
12:53
Speaker 3: He could sit on the beach and drink dakeres and
12:55
Speaker 3: live a life of leisure. And I said, listen, to
12:59
Speaker 3: run for office, you got to be nuts, you've got
13:02
Speaker 3: to be certified. You get attacked constantly. There's so much
13:07
Speaker 3: and Rick is doing this. The case I made, I said,
13:09
Speaker 3: Rick is doing this because he believes in Georgia. He
13:13
Speaker 3: believes in the country. He believes he could make a difference.
13:15
Speaker 3: And listen, Georgia used to be bright red. The unfortunate
13:20
Speaker 3: reality is it's purple now and the Democrats. Right now,
13:25
Speaker 3: the Democrats are leading in the polling for the governor's race.
13:28
Speaker 3: I think Rick will win. I think Rick will keep
13:31
Speaker 3: Georgia red. And I also made the case. I said, listen,
13:34
Speaker 3: by y'all coming out and voting for Rick, we're going
13:38
Speaker 3: to help John oss Off get a job in the
13:39
Speaker 3: private sector. John Ossoff is the very liberal Democrat who
13:44
Speaker 3: represents Georgia. He may be the Senator who is most
13:49
Speaker 3: out of step with the values of his state because
13:51
Speaker 3: he's a very liberal Democrat. George is not a very
13:54
Speaker 3: liberal state. But he's got a ton of money and
13:57
Speaker 3: he's right now leading in the polls a lot. And
13:59
Speaker 3: I said, listen, if you want to win the Senate
14:02
Speaker 3: seat here in Georgia, the best way to do it
14:06
Speaker 3: is have a gubernatorial candidate who's running an incredible campaign,
14:10
Speaker 3: who's mobilizing voters across the state, who, by the way,
14:13
Speaker 3: I mean, Rick has put massive millions of millions of
14:17
Speaker 3: dollars in the campaign, so he's gonna he's funding it himself.
14:21
Speaker 3: And if you end up with a gubernatorial candidate at
14:24
Speaker 3: the top of the race who's turning out a ton
14:26
Speaker 3: of voters, that's how you have a chance to win
14:30
Speaker 3: the Senate race also, and I got to say, I'm
14:33
Speaker 3: gratified the voters of Georgia agreed and we had a big,
14:37
Speaker 3: big win in Georgia nine.
14:40
Speaker 1: So let's get into Iran. It was a very interesting day.
14:43
Speaker 2: I was in DC and I was in Fox in
14:47
Speaker 2: the green room, and there was a lot of activity
14:49
Speaker 2: with this Iran deal. I was doing a couple of
14:51
Speaker 2: different shows and everybody was trying to figure out are
14:55
Speaker 2: we excited about the deal?
14:57
Speaker 1: Are we not?
14:58
Speaker 2: I had friends on TV that were saying, I think
15:00
Speaker 2: this is not a great deal. I had friends on
15:02
Speaker 2: TV that said this is a great deal. I had
15:04
Speaker 2: people in between. There was elected officials that I was
15:08
Speaker 2: talking to as well as they were asking me what
15:10
Speaker 2: do I think? But like, how is this going to
15:12
Speaker 2: play out? My synopsis was this, and I want to
15:15
Speaker 2: get your take. The president understands midterms are coming and
15:18
Speaker 2: we have to win the midterms. Gas prices need to
15:21
Speaker 2: be lower before the midterms. He had a simple promise,
15:24
Speaker 2: which was to make sure rand doesn't get a nuclear weapon.
15:27
Speaker 2: That is the promise that people care about the most,
15:29
Speaker 2: and they want this thing to end pretty quickly. We
15:32
Speaker 2: also know we have a president that has no problem
15:35
Speaker 2: bombing bad guys when they're acting up, and if Iran
15:38
Speaker 2: does anything that the President thinks a threat to us,
15:40
Speaker 2: he's clearly going to act. I think you put all
15:43
Speaker 2: that together, that's kind of where we are right now.
15:46
Speaker 1: What is your reaction and what are your colleagues saying?
15:49
Speaker 3: Yeah, Look, I think there's a lot of uncertainty. Right now,
15:54
Speaker 3: nobody knows what is in the deal. Yeah, I'm in
15:58
Speaker 3: the Senate. I've had no communication about what is in
16:02
Speaker 3: this deal. So I'm doing the same thing you guys
16:05
Speaker 3: are doing. I'm reading the news, I'm watching Twitter, and
16:12
Speaker 3: you see all sorts of different reports, and it's difficult
16:15
Speaker 3: to understand the actual substance of what's in it. There's
16:19
Speaker 3: also active misrepresentation, so Iran is putting out massive information
16:26
Speaker 3: basically saying this is a total victory for Iran. We've won.
16:29
Speaker 3: The United States has capitulated. Now I don't believe what
16:32
Speaker 3: Iran is putting out, but right now, nobody in the Senate,
16:37
Speaker 3: nobody in the Congress, has the details of what the
16:40
Speaker 3: agreement is. So I have, by the way, there.
16:44
Speaker 2: Is some trust and verify here for the Senate for
16:46
Speaker 2: you that don't understand this. To lift the sanctions, you
16:50
Speaker 2: guys are going to know exactly what's in there, and
16:53
Speaker 2: you have to agree to it.
16:54
Speaker 1: Am I right? Isn't that how this works?
16:57
Speaker 3: Look? It depends the way the sanctioned laws are written.
17:00
Speaker 3: The President has quite a bit of discretion. I hope
17:04
Speaker 3: and believe this deal will come before the Congress and
17:07
Speaker 3: will know the specifics of it, and we're going to
17:09
Speaker 3: know them in time. But this is you know, we're
17:12
Speaker 3: hours into this, this is very early. I will let
17:17
Speaker 3: me talk about different elements that may or may not
17:19
Speaker 3: be in the deal. One of the elements that has
17:22
Speaker 3: been widely reported is that Iran is going to get
17:26
Speaker 3: three hundred billion dollars in order to rebuild Iran, and
17:33
Speaker 3: those are going to come from frozen funds from other sources.
17:38
Speaker 3: It's not clear where that's going to come from. I've
17:41
Speaker 3: got to say I very much hope that is not true.
17:46
Speaker 3: If somehow we are flowing three hundred billion dollars to Iran,
17:51
Speaker 3: I think that is an incredibly foolish idea.
17:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with you.
17:56
Speaker 2: By the way, that's that's no different than the palats
17:58
Speaker 2: of cash and appeasement many people's.
18:00
Speaker 3: Eyes, Actually it is different. Obama flew one point seven
18:06
Speaker 3: billion dollars in cash into Iran. Joe Biden flowed one
18:11
Speaker 3: hundred billion dollars into Iran during his four years. If
18:16
Speaker 3: and I do not know that this is right, but
18:18
Speaker 3: if we are sending three hundred billion dollars three x
18:21
Speaker 3: what Biden sent, I think that is utterly indefensible. So
18:25
Speaker 3: I am hoping that is not true. I have no
18:28
Speaker 3: confirmation it's true. Iran is saying it's true, but I
18:31
Speaker 3: don't trust them, so that would be an enormous mistake.
18:37
Speaker 3: And listen, it is universally reported. This is a deal
18:41
Speaker 3: that has been negotiated by jd Vance. He has been
18:43
Speaker 3: the point person on negotiating this deal. He is now
18:47
Speaker 3: doing the talk show circuit defending the deal. But we
18:50
Speaker 3: don't know what the specifics are. I got to say,
18:53
Speaker 3: if the decision is let's give actually here, I want
18:59
Speaker 3: to share something so Chris Ruddy. Chris Ruddy is something
19:02
Speaker 3: someone you and I both know well. He is the
19:05
Speaker 3: owner of Newsbacks. Chris Ruddy wrote a very important opad
19:09
Speaker 3: on Newsbacks, and I want to share some of it.
19:13
Speaker 3: The title of it is say No to three hundred
19:17
Speaker 3: billion dollar Iran Reconstruction Fund. And here's what Chris wrote.
19:22
Speaker 3: President Trump was right to call reports of a three
19:24
Speaker 3: hundred billion dollar reconstruction fund for Iran quote fake news.
19:29
Speaker 3: He should keep calling them that until the idea is dead,
19:34
Speaker 3: buried and impossible to revive. Under another name, Vice President J.
19:39
Speaker 3: D Vance has sought to reassure skeptics about the plan quote,
19:43
Speaker 3: the Iranians are not receiving any cash and no funds
19:46
Speaker 3: are being released for simply signing a deal or attending
19:49
Speaker 3: a meeting, the Vice president said this past weekend. Vance
19:52
Speaker 3: then said the economic benefits would flow only if Tehran
19:56
Speaker 3: meets his obligations under a future agreement. That is better
20:01
Speaker 3: than a blank check. But it suggests a three hundred
20:05
Speaker 3: billion dollars check is still in the works and part
20:09
Speaker 3: of the memorandum of understandings that start sixty days that
20:13
Speaker 3: starts a sixty day ceasefire. Here's the central question. Why
20:19
Speaker 3: should Iran receive access to any reconstruction fund, let alone
20:26
Speaker 3: one with three hundred billion dollars. That's a third of
20:29
Speaker 3: a trillion dollars. The floated proposal makes no sense. Worse,
20:37
Speaker 3: it is dangerous, and Ruddy continues. It would reward a
20:42
Speaker 3: maniacal regime not for reforming, not for compensating its victims,
20:46
Speaker 3: and not for abandoning terror as an instrument of statecraft.
20:51
Speaker 3: It would reward Iran for surviving a war it provoked
20:57
Speaker 3: through decades of nuclear blackmail, proxy violence, and regional aggression.
21:02
Speaker 3: Let's put this in perspective for more than forty years,
21:06
Speaker 3: Iran's rulers have obsessed over acquiring the capability to destroy Israel,
21:11
Speaker 3: threaten America, and dominate the Middle East. They call the
21:16
Speaker 3: United States the quote Great Satan. They've burned through tens
21:21
Speaker 3: of billions of dollars and effectively checked out of the
21:23
Speaker 3: civilized community of nations in pursuit of their dream nuclear weapons.
21:28
Speaker 3: They have repeatedly stated their aim publicly and loudly quote
21:33
Speaker 3: to wipe Israel off the map. In the interim of
21:37
Speaker 3: that goal, Tehran has funded Mayhem across the region. Hesbela
21:43
Speaker 3: so clearly backed by Iran it has been part of
21:45
Speaker 3: their negotiations, has long terrorized northern Israel for forty years.
21:51
Speaker 3: Hesbel has fired tens of thousands of rockets into Israel,
21:55
Speaker 3: costing billions in damage, thousands of casualties, and hundreds of deaths.
22:00
Speaker 3: The Huthies, another proxy of Tehran, have fired missiles at
22:04
Speaker 3: Israel and disrupted international shipping for years. They have attacked
22:09
Speaker 3: US naval ships with drones and missiles no less than
22:13
Speaker 3: four hundred times. This is not a misunderstood regime looking
22:19
Speaker 3: for an off ramp. It's a revolutionary regime that made
22:24
Speaker 3: violence its business model. Even the assassination of President Trump
22:30
Speaker 3: remains a priority business item. So Chris's op ed and
22:35
Speaker 3: it goes on. It's a lengthy op ed, so I'm
22:37
Speaker 3: not going to read the rest of it, but it
22:39
Speaker 3: makes the powerful case. I very much hope the reports
22:43
Speaker 3: that three hundred billion dollars are going to flow to Iran,
22:47
Speaker 3: I hope those are false. And I don't know that
22:49
Speaker 3: they're true. I have no basis to believe they're true.
22:52
Speaker 3: But I got to say, sending three hundred billion dollars
22:57
Speaker 3: to theocratic lunatics who want to murder us is not
23:01
Speaker 3: a good idea. I am very much hoping hoping that
23:05
Speaker 3: as Iranian misinformation and that is not part of the deal.
23:09
Speaker 3: And I want you to listen to President Trump discussing
23:15
Speaker 3: where things stand at the G seven. Here, get a listen.
23:22
Speaker 4: It's a very important document.
23:24
Speaker 5: And unlike Obama, who could have destroyed the Middle East
23:29
Speaker 5: with a horrible jc POA, it is the worst agreement.
23:35
Speaker 4: That was a road to a nuclear weapon. Mine is
23:37
Speaker 4: a wall against a nuclear weapon. I mean, I see
23:40
Speaker 4: these people say, but we already had one. He paid
23:43
Speaker 4: a fortune for it, We paid nothing. We don't pay.
23:46
Speaker 4: There was some statement we're going to spend three hundred
23:48
Speaker 4: million dollars. Now, we're allowed to go and invest if
23:52
Speaker 4: we wanted to someday in the future. We have no
23:55
Speaker 4: obligation whatsoever. It could be that Iran will turn out
23:58
Speaker 4: to be successful, and they will, But if we left
24:06
Speaker 4: a week ago, just left before the last two attacks,
24:10
Speaker 4: it would have taken him twenty years to rebuild. I
24:12
Speaker 4: ran so, but I'll go over the document with the
24:16
Speaker 4: media in a couple of days.
24:20
Speaker 1: Now.
24:20
Speaker 2: The president, they're saying, he'll go over it with the media,
24:23
Speaker 2: he'll be transparent, he's going to read it. But he
24:25
Speaker 2: says that three hundred is not there.
24:28
Speaker 3: And I'm very comforted. I am glad the president is
24:32
Speaker 3: saying that he is right to say that. It's why Look,
24:36
Speaker 3: I am withholding judgment until I actually see the details.
24:39
Speaker 3: The reporters are all like, oh, don't you want to
24:41
Speaker 3: say something about this, and I'm like, look, until I
24:44
Speaker 3: know what the agreement is, I'm not going to comment
24:46
Speaker 3: without basis. We're saying the reporting. What I can say
24:51
Speaker 3: without equivocation is that giving three hundred billion dollars to
24:55
Speaker 3: Iran is a spectacularly bad idea. I hope and pray
24:59
Speaker 3: that's not what this deal is. I'll be very happy
25:03
Speaker 3: if when the deal the details become public it's not
25:07
Speaker 3: giving three hundred billion dollars. But I have no hesitancy
25:10
Speaker 3: that giving three hundred million dollars to Iran would be disastrous.
25:12
Speaker 3: And to be clear, they would use that money to
25:15
Speaker 3: build weapons to kill Americans as I.
25:18
Speaker 1: And they would use that mighty give it to Hamas
25:21
Speaker 1: and hes blood.
25:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, to fun terrorists that are murdering Americans, as I observed.
25:28
Speaker 3: To some of my colleagues in the Senate, I said, look,
25:30
Speaker 3: giving three hundred billion dollars to theocratical lunatics who want
25:33
Speaker 3: to murder us is not a good idea.
25:36
Speaker 1: I hope that's a sound foreign policy. Center.
25:39
Speaker 2: Let's just be clear, like that's that is a pretty
25:42
Speaker 2: sound foreign policy I like we're headed.
25:44
Speaker 3: And by the way, look, I talked to the President
25:47
Speaker 3: just a few days ago, right before this deal was announced.
25:51
Speaker 3: I am really hopeful. Look, one of the dynamics in
25:54
Speaker 3: the Trump administration is there are different camps within the
25:57
Speaker 3: administration that have different policy. There are camps in the
26:01
Speaker 3: administration that oppose the Iranian military attack, that have wanted
26:07
Speaker 3: to end it from day one that have been deeply
26:10
Speaker 3: unhappy with the President's decision to go in and take
26:14
Speaker 3: out the Iranian military. I don't know the extent to
26:19
Speaker 3: which those voices are prevailing right now, because there's an
26:22
Speaker 3: active dispute playing out day by day in the administration.
26:27
Speaker 3: I will say this though, there are also some Democrats
26:30
Speaker 3: in some of the media are crowing, oh, this is
26:32
Speaker 3: exactly like Obama and the JCPOA. It most certainly is
26:36
Speaker 3: not that understand what Donald Trump has done. The decision
26:41
Speaker 3: to launch the military attack against Iran was the single
26:44
Speaker 3: most important decision of the Trump presidency. He has destroyed
26:49
Speaker 3: over eighty percent of their ballistic missiles, over eighty percent
26:52
Speaker 3: of their drones. He's destroyed their drone manufacturing capability, their
26:55
Speaker 3: ballistic missiles manufacturing capability. He's utterly destroyed the air defenses.
27:01
Speaker 3: Their air force is in rubble on the runways. Their
27:05
Speaker 3: navy is sunk at the bottom of the ocean. You
27:07
Speaker 3: know how many Iranian naval ships he has sunk?
27:10
Speaker 1: How many?
27:11
Speaker 3: One hundred and sixty one.
27:13
Speaker 1: That's a lot.
27:14
Speaker 3: It is the largest naval defeat since World War II. Wow.
27:18
Speaker 3: The Iranian military has been destroyed and by the way.
27:21
Speaker 3: The Iatola is dead, many of the Mullas are dead,
27:23
Speaker 3: many of the senior leaders of the IRGC is dead.
27:26
Speaker 3: So under any measure, they're democrats who are lunatically claiming
27:33
Speaker 3: Iran is stronger today than it's ever been. No know
27:37
Speaker 3: that they have been bombed backed in the stone Age.
27:40
Speaker 3: Under no measure, are they stronger than they've ever been now?
27:43
Speaker 3: I don't want to see theocratic Islamists who want to
27:46
Speaker 3: kill us made stronger. So if this deal is giving
27:50
Speaker 3: them three hundred billion dollars, that's a mistake. I hope
27:54
Speaker 3: that is not the case. But the sort of cute
27:59
Speaker 3: talking point that this is just like Obama is absurd
28:03
Speaker 3: and false. The Obama Iran nuclear deal was designed to
28:09
Speaker 3: inevitably lead to Iran having a nuclear weapon. The President
28:12
Speaker 3: has launched a massive military action designed to prevent Iran
28:17
Speaker 3: from having a nuclear weapon. That is massively, massively different.
28:21
Speaker 3: What I'm urging the president, what I'm saying to him
28:24
Speaker 3: is it is don't give away the victory. I don't
28:28
Speaker 3: believe he's doing so. I hope he's not doing so.
28:30
Speaker 3: I hope his administration is not doing so. But my
28:33
Speaker 3: message is, don't we have defeated their military. Don't suddenly
28:38
Speaker 3: come in with massive buckets of cash to let them
28:42
Speaker 3: rebuild and become a threat to America.
28:44
Speaker 1: Again, a great point.
28:45
Speaker 2: Final question, and this is something that is going to
28:47
Speaker 2: be in the news. And that was the vote in
28:50
Speaker 2: the Senate on war powers with Iran. It came down
28:53
Speaker 2: to one vote. Thank goodness, John Fetterman voted with Republicans
28:58
Speaker 2: as some Republicans defected. Doing the math on this, it
29:01
Speaker 2: just shows you how tight things are in the Senate.
29:04
Speaker 2: Now you surprised by how closes was or was it
29:06
Speaker 2: what you were going to expect? And Fetterman, by the way,
29:09
Speaker 2: what a blessing that guy has become. I mean that
29:11
Speaker 2: is a compliment to him where I know a lot
29:14
Speaker 2: of issues. He does not play politics. He looks at
29:16
Speaker 2: his right and wrong and is America better off? And
29:19
Speaker 2: I think that was one of his votes today as
29:22
Speaker 2: a perfect example of that.
29:23
Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, John Fetterman has become a friend. I like John.
29:27
Speaker 3: I work with him quite a bit. He's got real courage.
29:30
Speaker 3: He is the lone Democrat who will stand up to
29:34
Speaker 3: the crazies on a host of issues. He will stand
29:37
Speaker 3: up number one on Israel. He is not part of
29:40
Speaker 3: the pro Hamas lunatic left, which is much of the
29:43
Speaker 3: Democrat Party Number two. On border security, he has decided
29:50
Speaker 3: that the policy of open borders and releasing murderers and
29:53
Speaker 3: gang bangers and rapists and child molesters is a dumb policy.
29:58
Speaker 3: Now that didn't used to be a radical position. That
30:01
Speaker 3: used to be. In fact, you go back just a
30:03
Speaker 3: few years ago, and whether it was Harry Reid or
30:05
Speaker 3: Chuck Schumer, or Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton, every Democrat
30:09
Speaker 3: espoused that position. Today, John Fetterman is almost the only
30:14
Speaker 3: Democrat who will say that. I mean, it's not that
30:18
Speaker 3: he has changed, it's that his party has gone nuts.
30:21
Speaker 3: And I will tell you the Democrats they hate Fetterman
30:25
Speaker 3: for it. They're vicious, they insult and revile him. I
30:30
Speaker 3: consider John a friend, and listen, John still votes ninety
30:34
Speaker 3: percent with the Democrats. So let's be clear. He is
30:37
Speaker 3: not suddenly a conservative Republican. He just doesn't believe Hamas
30:41
Speaker 3: is better than Israel and doesn't believe open borders and
30:43
Speaker 3: criminals are better than American citizens. Those are pretty reasonable
30:49
Speaker 3: statements that used to be mainstream and everyone agreed with,
30:52
Speaker 3: and now virtually every other Democrat has abandoned that. Actually,
30:58
Speaker 3: here's a question to ask our listeners. You ought to
31:00
Speaker 3: post on social media. Uh, do y'all want John Fetterman
31:03
Speaker 3: to be a guest on on Verdict?
31:05
Speaker 1: Here, it's funny that you just said that.
31:07
Speaker 2: I was only going to say center, I think we
31:08
Speaker 2: have Fetterman on, and I've never said it live on
31:10
Speaker 2: the air, that we should have a guest before, as
31:13
Speaker 2: before you and I talking about behind the scenes. I
31:16
Speaker 2: think he would be a fabulous guest for Verdict.
31:18
Speaker 3: Look, look, John and I are buddies. I will say
31:22
Speaker 3: you remember last year, Uh, he decided he was going
31:25
Speaker 3: to go down to mar A Lago and meet with
31:27
Speaker 3: with Trump, and the left lost their mind and said,
31:29
Speaker 3: oh my god, why would you talk to the President?
31:30
Speaker 3: What kind of lunatic are you? And and and John,
31:34
Speaker 3: he's got a good sense of humor. It's his very
31:36
Speaker 3: dry sense of humor. And he came back and said, well,
31:39
Speaker 3: I'm going to ask him to make me the Pope
31:42
Speaker 3: of Greenland, which I thought was really funny and I
31:46
Speaker 3: actually like used ai. I found a meme and sent
31:50
Speaker 3: out a meme of Fetterman as the pope in like
31:53
Speaker 3: papal Robes in Greenland and like tweeted it out and
31:57
Speaker 3: I said it to John and we were cracking up
31:59
Speaker 3: laughing about it because I thought that was really funny.
32:02
Speaker 3: But look, he's shown real courage. The fact that he
32:08
Speaker 3: is so alone in the Democrat Party really illustrates how
32:11
Speaker 3: radicalized they become.
32:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a great point.
32:14
Speaker 2: We're gonna keep you updated on this obviously, the deal
32:16
Speaker 2: with a Rand Probably on Friday morning show, we'll have
32:19
Speaker 2: a lot more details of what is in this deal.
32:21
Speaker 1: So don't forget.
32:21
Speaker 2: Download Verdict with Ted Cruz wherever you get your podcasts
32:25
Speaker 2: so you don't miss an episode. You can also watch
32:26
Speaker 2: us on YouTube, and you can listen to the show
32:29
Speaker 2: the weekend version as well on radio stations all over
32:32
Speaker 2: the country.
32:33
Speaker 1: And we'll see you back here Friday morning.
