- 0:05Speaker 2: It's off the edge of me your host Cam Jordan,
- 0:08Speaker 2: and as your host, I get to have phenomenal guests
- 0:11Speaker 2: on the pod. I'm so excited to get an Arizona legend,
- 0:15Speaker 2: a Chandler legend, a man who started off at Chandler High,
- 0:18Speaker 2: finished at Hamilton High. And we'll talk about it. But
- 0:21Speaker 2: he's the president of faul Sohar University. He's a guy
- 0:24Speaker 2: who went to ASU and set all types of records,
- 0:26Speaker 2: Hotowl Hero.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie Defensive Player of.
- 0:30Speaker 2: The Year, seven time pro bowler, won Super Bowls not
- 0:33Speaker 2: only with the Ravens, but with the Chiefs, and the
- 0:35Speaker 2: future probably this year Hall of Famer. I'm talking to
- 0:39Speaker 2: existence already because I mean, he's got the accolades to
- 0:42Speaker 2: do it.
- 0:42Speaker 1: My guy, Terrell suggs akat Cecils.
- 0:45Speaker 2: It's time for this week's Drive for Success Conversation presented
- 0:48Speaker 2: by Toyota.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Let's go places. Man. I appreciate you ten. You know
- 0:52Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
- 0:53Speaker 2: When I was a kid, I used to watch you.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I watched you as a running back over at the
- 0:58Speaker 2: channels at Hamilton.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I was gonna say.
- 1:00Speaker 1: High, but we get and say you don't claim Chandler,
- 1:03Speaker 1: and it hurts me to the core.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I claimed the city, right, we all Chandler, I claimed
- 1:07Speaker 3: the city. Yeah, you know what I mean. It's all love,
- 1:10Speaker 3: but we we this is the Huskies, man. I mean,
- 1:13Speaker 3: I'm sure you heard about the game. How many years
- 1:15Speaker 3: are there? How many years would I wear? I was
- 1:19Speaker 3: at Hamilton one? So how many years were your Chandler two?
- 1:23Speaker 3: But I graduated from Hamilton? You gotta you just was.
- 1:31Speaker 3: I did two at Chandler and one at at Hamilton.
- 1:34Speaker 3: And when I first moved are Zon, I went to
- 1:36Speaker 3: Corona for a little bit and then I went to
- 1:38Speaker 3: camel Back.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah that was all all right, Yeah, it's true.
- 1:44Speaker 2: How many schools you go to the one that's winning.
- 1:48Speaker 3: The one is I mean, hey, we got the titles.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I graduated there and that's where the rivalry started.
- 1:53Speaker 1: So absolutely.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Yeah, then you go to a su of course, you know,
- 1:57Speaker 1: Sack records on Sack records. Man, it was a good time.
- 2:01Speaker 1: It's a good time. Of it was a good time.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I mean, let's just you know, just like me, I
- 2:05Speaker 2: started off, you know and born in Minnesota, you know, yeah, uh,
- 2:10Speaker 2: he was born in Minnesota, as well, I was.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Born in Minnesota as well. It's connection all over all through,
- 2:16Speaker 3: that's all say. Yeah, I was a big Vikings fan
- 2:19Speaker 3: with your dad, Brad Jordan and them. But you know
- 2:21Speaker 3: they had that Tony Dungee defense maybe you know what
- 2:23Speaker 3: I'm saying. So that's when I started playing ball. Like
- 2:26Speaker 3: that Minnesota Vikings defense was iconic, you know, John Randall.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Joey Brown back in.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Yeah, they had del Rio, you know what I'm saying.
- 2:34Speaker 3: So we had some guys up there, man, and then
- 2:37Speaker 3: we got Randy.
- 2:38Speaker 1: So no doubt Randy, Randy Mossa, Chris Carter, that Chris Carter,
- 2:43Speaker 1: you know, absolutely.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah, Minnesota and team surprised. They ain't want those Super
- 2:51Speaker 3: Bowls yet.
- 2:52Speaker 1: They they're just like I did. We got to n
- 2:54Speaker 1: C Championship and hurts.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it hurt.
- 2:57Speaker 1: That hurts hurts. That's why you know, I just tin
- 3:00Speaker 1: you're playing seventeen. We may have to find two more.
- 3:03Speaker 3: You know, you just gotta you gotta get it away.
- 3:05Speaker 3: It's getting good, man, man, you gotta get it way
- 3:07Speaker 3: of getting good.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I'll say. But then you got to go home and
- 3:10Speaker 1: play for the Cardinals.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Oh man, you know how that it's good to go
- 3:15Speaker 3: play for your hometown you know what I mean teams
- 3:17Speaker 3: that I mean, Yeah, you have fans that like grow
- 3:20Speaker 3: up that watched you in high school and then you know,
- 3:22Speaker 3: I went to a s U, so, uh, they watched
- 3:24Speaker 3: me in college. It's good to kind of like ride
- 3:28Speaker 3: off in the sunset like front of the whole time. Yeah,
- 3:31Speaker 3: in your hometown city. So that's pretty cool.
- 3:33Speaker 2: You just just you know, go from from growing up
- 3:35Speaker 2: there to yeah, I played for everything in Arizona.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Yeah I played. That's that's pretty good. Yeah, went to
- 3:41Speaker 3: high school college and you know, played in the Cardinals
- 3:43Speaker 3: for a little bit, and then you know, went to
- 3:44Speaker 3: Kansas City when the.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Super Bowl, when there's another super Bowl to go just
- 3:49Speaker 1: ride off in the sunset. Yea.
- 3:51Speaker 3: They say, quitting while you're ahead is not necessarily quitting.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, man, I I could understand it. I don't
- 3:59Speaker 2: know when the Super yet, but I can understand it.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Stay in there.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I got two, I got two one.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Oh man. I ain't gonna say it's better than seeing
- 4:09Speaker 3: your baby being born. Yeah, but it's close. It's it's close, man,
- 4:14Speaker 3: It's a it's an unimaginable feeling.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Okay, let's let's.
- 4:19Speaker 2: In fact How did it feel like playing in Baltimore
- 4:24Speaker 2: Week two, twenty nineteen with the Cardinals.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Oh, man, go back to the beginnings.
- 4:29Speaker 3: It was. It was very I was very like emotional
- 4:31Speaker 3: going into the game, but I was like, you know,
- 4:33Speaker 3: we competitive. I wanted to win. I wanted to win bad,
- 4:36Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. But you know they got it.
- 4:39Speaker 3: That was Lamar's first MVP year, you know what I'm saying,
- 4:42Speaker 3: So you know what I mean, Like he was the
- 4:45Speaker 3: best player in the league that Yeah, you saw me
- 4:47Speaker 3: practice league, yeah, first inter league Yeah, and you saw
- 4:51Speaker 3: him on adversary Like that jump that he made was
- 4:54Speaker 3: just like whoa right, Like I never I mean the
- 4:57Speaker 3: only jump I seen like that was JJ Watt when
- 5:01Speaker 3: his rookie year he had five sacks and did his
- 5:05Speaker 3: sophomore year he had twenty two. I was like, damn,
- 5:09Speaker 3: I'm like, I probably need to go down there and
- 5:11Speaker 3: work out with him. But if I'm in Houston, I
- 5:13Speaker 3: ain't gonna be doing no working out man. I mean,
- 5:14Speaker 3: I'm just keeping a man like Houston the greatest city
- 5:17Speaker 3: on earth to me, Oh my god, I'm like, dude,
- 5:23Speaker 3: if I go out there, I ain't gonna be working out,
- 5:26Speaker 3: it's probably best. Like God knew what he was doing
- 5:29Speaker 3: when he sent me to Baltimore. He didn't send me
- 5:31Speaker 3: to Miami, didn't send me to Atlanta or Houston Dallas.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Like nah, man, were sending your ass to Baltimore. Yeah,
- 5:38Speaker 3: he's gonna sit your ass down somewhere.
- 5:40Speaker 2: You know, absolutely all right, So I probably already know
- 5:44Speaker 2: this question. But which one do you value more? Baltimore
- 5:46Speaker 2: Ravens or the Chiefs Super Ravens. Yeah, I mean Ravens
- 5:50Speaker 2: throwing through. But you know, I thought we could get
- 5:52Speaker 2: to because it was the last season Ravens throwing through.
- 5:54Speaker 3: But I when I got took Kansas City, you know,
- 5:57Speaker 3: you's a new team, I'm like, you know, like curious,
- 6:01Speaker 3: like seeing how it's gonna go, because it did become
- 6:03Speaker 3: like a little rivalry over the years. And I see,
- 6:07Speaker 3: I seen why the two teams class because they so alike.
- 6:11Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. You never crossed paths without
- 6:13Speaker 3: a couple of things in common. And like the locker room,
- 6:16Speaker 3: it was so relaxed. And you know that organization when
- 6:20Speaker 3: they value their players like that, that's when you're gonna
- 6:23Speaker 3: get good production. Like on the field, you know what
- 6:25Speaker 3: I mean when the front office in the locker room
- 6:29Speaker 3: is in Unison, you know what I'm saying, when you
- 6:31Speaker 3: got that going, magical things that happened, and like when
- 6:34Speaker 3: I got there, it wasn't it was it was just
- 6:37Speaker 3: different people, but it was the same kind of like team,
- 6:39Speaker 3: same team atmosphere.
- 6:40Speaker 1: It was dope. You know.
- 6:42Speaker 3: We had the Tyreek Hill we in the locker room,
- 6:46Speaker 3: you know, hooping before practice. You know what I'm saying.
- 6:48Speaker 3: It's like you can't play hard you get hurt in
- 6:49Speaker 3: the locker room like that. Everybody like yeah, like everybody
- 6:54Speaker 3: days would be numbered. So we you know, we just
- 6:55Speaker 3: had a little fun games in the locker room. And
- 6:58Speaker 3: in Kansas City we was playing basketball. In Baltimore's playing
- 7:01Speaker 3: corn hole like every day, you know what I'm saying,
- 7:04Speaker 3: like getting after it straight up competitive tournaments and stuff.
- 7:06Speaker 3: So when you have a good lax locker room and
- 7:09Speaker 3: and your front of office is like being like, ain't sink,
- 7:12Speaker 3: great things happen, man, And that's why those two organizations win. Mann.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I was like, you talk about get hurt. You the
- 7:17Speaker 2: reason why I stop playing basketball in.
- 7:19Speaker 1: The off season. Oh man, you gotta gotta be careful.
- 7:21Speaker 3: That's a rumor, though we're not gonna confirm nor deny
- 7:24Speaker 3: anything right concerning that, you know what I mean, you
- 7:27Speaker 3: could have been anything anything. Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Look I remember, I remember you coming. I was like,
- 7:33Speaker 2: I was like, all right, Yeah, I was like, you
- 7:36Speaker 2: know what, guys lay up.
- 7:38Speaker 3: And out you got you gotta just you know, keep
- 7:42Speaker 3: it simple, man. They'll do too much. Man, don't don't
- 7:44Speaker 3: over exude yourself. Absolutely, man. But even then you came back,
- 7:49Speaker 3: You're not like you popped your kellys twice about twice man.
- 7:52Speaker 1: And I've never, like god willing, I'll never I'll never
- 7:55Speaker 1: go through that, man, Like I had hurt, so like
- 7:59Speaker 1: you come that real?
- 8:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it was. It was hard and you really have
- 8:04Speaker 3: to decide your pain tolerance. And it was like when
- 8:07Speaker 3: I did the first time, it was like I knew
- 8:09Speaker 3: we were on the brink. You know what I'm saying.
- 8:11Speaker 3: We just lost in the AFC Championship, you know what
- 8:14Speaker 3: I'm saying. I knew we were close, and I was like, nah,
- 8:17Speaker 3: I'm not gonna let them do it without me, So
- 8:19Speaker 3: I can't leave me behind, Like I'm not gonna let
- 8:22Speaker 3: them do it without me exactly. And so I just
- 8:26Speaker 3: I just worked as hard as I can to get back, man,
- 8:28Speaker 3: like me and the trainer.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah, came back, made the Pro Bowl. Yeah, made the
- 8:33Speaker 2: Pro Bowl playing back. Yeah, computers and like somehow y'all
- 8:37Speaker 2: break down and get stronger on the road.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Oh man, it was.
- 8:40Speaker 3: It was like a good like validation that, like after
- 8:43Speaker 3: coming up at work like that and then come back
- 8:45Speaker 3: and make a Pro Bowl like that was pretty dope.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Jesus. Yeah, keep keep like whatever it is, gonna keep hiking, guy.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Yeah, man, you got to especially, you know, when you're young,
- 8:54Speaker 3: like I was like twenty nine when I popped it.
- 8:56Speaker 3: So when you're under thirty, your body still can regularly
- 8:59Speaker 3: like pretty fast, you know what I'm saying. But when
- 9:02Speaker 3: you get to that thirty and up man, them them
- 9:04Speaker 3: Monday's Wall, they be hurt.
- 9:07Speaker 2: I want to think about the uh you know, the
- 9:09Speaker 2: the Ravens uh and the AFC. You know the rivals
- 9:13Speaker 2: that you guys have. The whole division hates everybody, and
- 9:16Speaker 2: I can't I can't get it. The Ravens don't like
- 9:18Speaker 2: the Steelers and also don't like the Browns, and they
- 9:20Speaker 2: also don't like the Bengals. You can't hate everybody, got
- 9:22Speaker 2: to that, man, But you see a lot of you
- 9:25Speaker 2: see you see a lot of Ravens become Steelers, or
- 9:28Speaker 2: a lot of Steelers become the Browns.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Like, there's a lot of that. Patrick Queen thing was
- 9:32Speaker 3: like mine. I was like, oh he went not only
- 9:35Speaker 3: to the in the side of the division, but you
- 9:37Speaker 3: hate division.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And rival, Like, oh my god, you can't be a
- 9:41Speaker 1: rival if you keep going to different teams.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Is Joe Flacco know he played for everybody in the
- 9:47Speaker 3: North man, when he go to the Steelers, I'm write
- 9:50Speaker 3: them off. I'm like, I never talk to you again.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Finally, Okay, the Steelers the one you can't go over.
- 9:55Speaker 3: You cannot have you.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Pat McQueen hurt that, that hurt. That hurt.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I was like, no, I understand. You know us as players,
- 10:03Speaker 3: when your time is up, when your time is to
- 10:05Speaker 3: go to that bank, cast that check, you want the best,
- 10:07Speaker 3: the best deal. But that would have hurt that you
- 10:09Speaker 3: don't hit the same God exactly exactly, like I don't
- 10:14Speaker 3: get it, but you're right. In that AFC North, everybody
- 10:17Speaker 3: hate each other.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Allegedly there's too much hate.
- 10:20Speaker 3: But Cleveland have a genuine beef because with you know, yeah,
- 10:25Speaker 3: Baltimore used to be we used to be their team.
- 10:28Speaker 3: So just they Auguden's supposed to be a Cleveland Brown,
- 10:32Speaker 3: ray lewis supposed to be a Cleveland Brown, and Reed's
- 10:35Speaker 3: supposed to be a Cleveland Brown. Me myself, Helloi like
- 10:39Speaker 3: Cleveland is like they kind of like look at us,
- 10:41Speaker 3: Like the girlfriend. I'm saying exactly, you know what I'm saying,
- 10:46Speaker 3: he left me exactly, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 10:49Speaker 3: that's how Cleveland see us. Say I'd be like, I
- 10:51Speaker 3: get it, I get it.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I don't And it's like, you know, they ain't got
- 10:54Speaker 1: no super Bowls. We got two.
- 10:56Speaker 4: You know.
- 10:57Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, it's not a Super I mean that's
- 11:00Speaker 2: pretty much summits in my mind. For whatever reason, the
- 11:03Speaker 2: Hall of Fame numbers like and he's a super Bowl winner, Yeah,
- 11:05Speaker 2: but that doesn't make him a great player.
- 11:07Speaker 1: That's a great team. That's a great team, Hall of Fame.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Some guys that have just almost on the cusps shouldn't
- 11:14Speaker 2: really just good players become all of a sudden, the
- 11:16Speaker 2: Hall of Fame.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Players super Bowl team And I'm like, you're not the quarterback,
- 11:20Speaker 4: Like that's not a judging stat for you. You Like,
- 11:24Speaker 4: there's a lot of Super Bowl winners. That's not Hall
- 11:26Speaker 4: of Fame, correct, you know what I mean?
- 11:28Speaker 2: And then there's guys like, oh yeah, he's notable. It's like,
- 11:30Speaker 2: you know, five six Pro Bowls and the Super Bowl. Wait,
- 11:33Speaker 2: but he's a he's a defensive player. Okay, I don't
- 11:38Speaker 2: get it.
- 11:38Speaker 1: But in terms in terms of the Hall of Fame,
- 11:41Speaker 1: you know, the case that everybody's claiming.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I mean, in my mind, you should have been in.
- 11:45Speaker 3: But that's yeah, hey they played it. They got it
- 11:47Speaker 3: wrong last year, but hey they're gonna do it right
- 11:49Speaker 3: this year. Absolutely do it right this year. We feel
- 11:53Speaker 3: him good about it.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I would say, just the dynamic that you had between teammates, right,
- 11:58Speaker 2: Like if you say my favorite teammates to Mario Davis,
- 12:01Speaker 2: he was a dog when I first came to the league.
- 12:03Speaker 2: It was John Vilma, Roman Harper, you know, certified monsters
- 12:08Speaker 2: you had.
- 12:08Speaker 1: It was you Ed Reed, ray Lewis. I mean, just
- 12:11Speaker 1: the rapport there, the dynamic who's big bro, who's little bro?
- 12:14Speaker 3: Well, definitely you know ray Ed or both of the
- 12:17Speaker 3: big bros. You know what I'm saying, hands down, you know,
- 12:20Speaker 3: I mean, they they like the patriarch at a family.
- 12:23Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying like we go as they go.
- 12:24Speaker 3: There, we go as they go. So it definitely didn't.
- 12:26Speaker 3: But you know, it's a lot of guys that don't
- 12:29Speaker 3: really get mentioned that are through and through Ravens and
- 12:33Speaker 3: held like HELLOADI you know what I'm saying, Kelly Gregg,
- 12:38Speaker 3: you know what I mean. Uh, One of my favorite
- 12:41Speaker 3: teammates was Bernard Pollard, Like I loved him, Like Big
- 12:44Speaker 3: Shannon shot Man. I wouldn't play with Shannon like Shannon
- 12:47Speaker 3: was before me. Yeah, yeah, but I do love to he.
- 12:50Speaker 3: I mean you could tell he was a Raven through
- 12:52Speaker 3: and through. Yeah, Jared Johnson, Like we we had guys.
- 12:58Speaker 3: We had guys, man, and like I'm grateful for all
- 13:02Speaker 3: of them because it was like I think Ozzie News
- 13:04Speaker 3: did a great job of like identify who's a Raven.
- 13:07Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, especially in our golden years,
- 13:09Speaker 3: you know what I mean. So it's like I loved
- 13:13Speaker 3: all my teammates, man, we had all we we we
- 13:16Speaker 3: all are guys. Like majority of the people I played
- 13:18Speaker 3: with straight up Ravens are like locker room guys you love. Yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 3: they fit in on any team.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Speak of locker room culture moments like you have a
- 13:25Speaker 2: welcome to the Ravens like culture you all world, you
- 13:29Speaker 2: get in and you.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Got big dogs.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I would say when I first reported the camp,
- 13:34Speaker 3: raid hit me in the face with a pie on TV,
- 13:36Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying, Like, hey, man, you didn't
- 13:38Speaker 3: get the camp on time. So there was a pie
- 13:41Speaker 3: in my face. Man. So that was definitely it and
- 13:43Speaker 3: definitely probably my first time going up against Jo and
- 13:47Speaker 3: I finally realized I'm like, yeah, I'm not the big
- 13:49Speaker 3: dog anymore. I'm just in college, you know what I mean.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Like I don't remember like in college, like especially in
- 13:56Speaker 3: my last year, I don't remember losing like a past
- 13:59Speaker 3: us drill and I mean and in the one on
- 14:03Speaker 3: one pass rush or like doing team periods, like I
- 14:05Speaker 3: don't remember when I got to Baltimore going against Jail,
- 14:10Speaker 3: I didn't win one. So it was just like I
- 14:13Speaker 3: got the best teacher right now, I got the best
- 14:16Speaker 3: practice and welcome to the NFL ever right in the world.
- 14:19Speaker 1: So I say, did ja dog, Like did he give
- 14:21Speaker 1: you like game as you were going?
- 14:23Speaker 3: Or but you know, like Jo was a big, gentle giant,
- 14:27Speaker 3: didn't raise his boys, but he was just he lined
- 14:30Speaker 3: up and he was the best. You know what I'm saying.
- 14:32Speaker 3: So he was like he should try this.
- 14:34Speaker 1: You did that first training camp, like training training camp.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Like don't you know like on the dark Night when
- 14:40Speaker 3: Bain is like beating him up, got Batman and talking
- 14:43Speaker 3: to him the whole time. That's like Jail. That was
- 14:45Speaker 3: me and jo every time we begin like, no, you
- 14:50Speaker 3: can't do that up here. You can't do that up here,
- 14:52Speaker 3: young like trun down trying to do all my little movies.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I ain't finna do all that with you, Like like
- 14:59Speaker 3: Jao was just just good effort, effortless, you.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Know what I mean, right, I said that, that's crazy.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I mean I remember my rookie year. I was going
- 15:08Speaker 2: against Zach Streef. I was like, you know, I'd win
- 15:11Speaker 2: some I'd lose something whatever it was. I was like, Yo,
- 15:13Speaker 2: how could I get better? He's like, I'm not helping you.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Man.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Training He's like, I'm not helping you. Like we'll talk
- 15:18Speaker 2: about this after training camp, like you're I've seen you
- 15:21Speaker 2: every plane. Yeah, there's nothing in this world that's gonna
- 15:24Speaker 2: make me help you.
- 15:24Speaker 3: I was like, you know, he wasn't threatened by anybody,
- 15:30Speaker 3: so it was just like oh, No, that's that move's
- 15:33Speaker 3: not gonna work up here. Young. I'm just I'm gonna
- 15:34Speaker 3: keep it honest.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Jah before you swipe. Yeah, like yeah, j O Jail
- 15:39Speaker 1: was that he was the man man, right, Yeah.
- 15:43Speaker 2: That's what I'm over here. Like, dang, he helped from
- 15:45Speaker 2: Jump Street. He's like, once we get the season, I'll
- 15:47Speaker 2: help you. So this week one he's like, yeah, don't
- 15:49Speaker 2: thro that. You gotta throw something else.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Got it, got it?
- 15:52Speaker 3: Got yeah?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Now ja O was he's the man, the man all right.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Think about this year, you know, uh, this year is
- 15:59Speaker 1: Ravens defense. Okay, you know how they doing overall? They do?
- 16:04Speaker 3: They started out last year, yeah, they was balling last year.
- 16:08Speaker 3: This year, we don't know what the hell was going
- 16:10Speaker 3: on the first game Yeah yeah, and we brung in
- 16:15Speaker 3: you know, the young kid Malachi starts. Yeah. So I
- 16:18Speaker 3: think it's starting to slow down for them now. I think,
- 16:22Speaker 3: you know, just jeling and chemistry. Wives, Like, I don't
- 16:26Speaker 3: feel like we was on the same page at that
- 16:28Speaker 3: first part.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Yeah. First.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yeah, Now after the bye, it seems like they may
- 16:34Speaker 3: have got it fixed. But we'll see. We still got
- 16:36Speaker 3: to play. We still have to playing Cincinnati. You know,
- 16:39Speaker 3: we got. We still gotta play Jamar Chase. I think
- 16:42Speaker 3: he averaged like two fifty on us last year.
- 16:44Speaker 1: No doubt.
- 16:45Speaker 3: So we definitely row.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Joe Burrow maybe back.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Is he may be back. But you see Joe Flako
- 16:51Speaker 3: over there slinging that thing, and he would love, he
- 16:54Speaker 3: would love to come back to Baltimore and just light
- 16:56Speaker 3: it up like Joe Din had a few games. We
- 16:59Speaker 3: did have four hundred yards four tubs. Right he out there,
- 17:02Speaker 3: he out there throwing, forty two years old, out there
- 17:05Speaker 3: talk playing.
- 17:06Speaker 1: He's playing.
- 17:07Speaker 3: So now now we got a problem one of our
- 17:09Speaker 3: own for to come up in here with a deadly receiver,
- 17:12Speaker 3: Oh my god, receiver t Higgins. Both of them, yes,
- 17:16Speaker 3: both of them are problems.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Problems.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, who do you think winning that game?
- 17:21Speaker 3: I gotta go with the Rayvens. I gotta go with
- 17:23Speaker 3: the in Baltimore. I will go with the Raymonds in Cincinnati.
- 17:27Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be. It depends on who shows up,
- 17:31Speaker 3: you know what I mean. Are we gonna have the
- 17:32Speaker 3: defense that we've been playing the past few weeks or
- 17:35Speaker 3: the first one, you know what I mean, the first
- 17:37Speaker 3: few weeks. So we see who shows up.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Okay, well, okay, we can work with that.
- 17:44Speaker 2: All right, let's let's get to these good old AFC
- 17:47Speaker 2: rival not ac rifle topics. I think that's where I
- 17:50Speaker 2: want to go next, is uh my favorite part, just
- 17:53Speaker 2: talk about straight ball. I'm gonna ask you questions about
- 17:56Speaker 2: quarterbacks you've sacked in your career, and you can give
- 17:59Speaker 2: me the career. You know your answer to this? You
- 18:01Speaker 2: know how many quarterbacks you've sacked in your career?
- 18:04Speaker 3: Do I know how many?
- 18:05Speaker 2: How many?
- 18:05Speaker 1: Like, I've sacked fifty quarterbacks?
- 18:07Speaker 2: No? I thought that was a lot.
- 18:09Speaker 3: No, I did not know seventy eight. I sacked seventy
- 18:11Speaker 3: eight quarterback.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Wow. Wow, that's pretty good. Yeah, yeah, oh good, that's crazy.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I was like, dang, I was like, I checked fifty quarters.
- 18:19Speaker 1: You know how many that is? Seventy eight is wild?
- 18:21Speaker 3: That's pretty good.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Name the first quarterback you sacked in your career? It
- 18:25Speaker 1: was Pittsburgh with it? Who is it?
- 18:27Speaker 3: Brunell, Tommy Maddick, Tommy Maddox, Tommy Maddox. That I knew it.
- 18:34Speaker 3: I knew, I knew it was I was I see
- 18:37Speaker 3: this guy. Yeah, I say it almost all out.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I almost got the ball out. I hate that.
- 18:43Speaker 3: I used to. I used to get yelled at, like, oh,
- 18:46Speaker 3: I mean they was happy for me. That was my
- 18:48Speaker 3: first one, but everyone after that, like I was just
- 18:51Speaker 3: tackling the quarterback ray Lo. It was like that's not
- 18:53Speaker 3: good enough. Get the ball out, get the ball out.
- 18:56Speaker 3: So we want the ball, Yeah, we want the ball.
- 18:59Speaker 1: But I mean the ball was coming out.
- 19:01Speaker 3: It was coming out. It was coming out.
- 19:02Speaker 1: How you better than that, Like if the ball was
- 19:04Speaker 1: coming out, he just regripped.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Right right, he just you know, he got lucky and
- 19:08Speaker 3: fell on it probably you know what I mean. But wow,
- 19:11Speaker 3: that was the first one. I have so many of those,
- 19:13Speaker 3: like like the quarters or like I hate when like
- 19:21Speaker 3: you hit him as the throwing and somebody catches it,
- 19:23Speaker 3: so it's not a sack. Phone with nomore, it's an interception.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Oh man, all right, this Tommy Medick sat When did
- 19:28Speaker 2: it happen?
- 19:30Speaker 3: That's opening day two thousand and three.
- 19:33Speaker 2: The first quarter?
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yeah, quarter, first quarter.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that was like in the red zone. We just
- 19:38Speaker 3: dropped him and I'm here to stay. Yeah. That was
- 19:40Speaker 3: like in the red zone too. Oh man, that great one.
- 19:44Speaker 3: That some nostalgia going back then. The last quarterback you
- 19:48Speaker 3: sacked in your career Philip Rivers.
- 19:51Speaker 5: Is that right week seventeen, Philip River twenty nineteen, Yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 5: Philip Rivers, that's when I that's when I passed my
- 20:00Speaker 5: is wareing the Marcus Wade was there too, you know,
- 20:03Speaker 5: you being there and I'm way in his ninety four.
- 20:07Speaker 1: N Yeah. Uh foe. Can you name the top five
- 20:13Speaker 1: quarterbacks you sacked your career? Uh?
- 20:15Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manny.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Uh do you know who's sacked the most? And yeah,
- 20:27Speaker 1: there Ben Roethlisberger. Okay, yeah, I know that.
- 20:32Speaker 6: I know that.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Second on the list, Uh, who I sacked them? Anybody
- 20:37Speaker 3: from Cleveland? But no, probably Carson Palmer.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Could be the right team and he did play for us.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Isn't edtie Andy Dalton boom wow wow?
- 20:46Speaker 2: And then and then you're tied with all the guys,
- 20:48Speaker 2: you know, the Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, phild Rivers, right down.
- 20:50Speaker 1: The hill, Blake Bortles Okay, okay, yeah, ain't good.
- 20:54Speaker 3: But it was always the problem for us.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Say, look that that Matt Ryan, just because it's close
- 20:58Speaker 1: to me.
- 21:00Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, Matt Ryan met Maran is a
- 21:01Speaker 2: good guy, you know, like he's he's gonna be forever
- 21:03Speaker 2: good in my book and apparently yours too. Right, first one,
- 21:08Speaker 2: he's the most I've ever seen. Uh, you know, you've
- 21:12Speaker 2: sacked the guy seventeen times.
- 21:13Speaker 1: That's crazy. I've sacked Matt Ryan twenty three times.
- 21:17Speaker 3: That's crazy. That's crazy. I was like, yeah, you're gonna
- 21:21Speaker 3: hold on to that ball now, this headlock, Yeah, that's
- 21:23Speaker 3: a flag today, But definitely a flag. That whole that
- 21:26Speaker 3: whole play is a flag today. I might be suspended.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Like they they they got they they they treat these
- 21:32Speaker 3: these quarterbacks.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Man, Look this tells me you you gave everything. Oh man,
- 21:37Speaker 1: Like he was standing there was a hippie shoulder go.
- 21:41Speaker 3: You know he has like a little rivalry between him
- 21:43Speaker 3: and Joe because they was in the same draft. So
- 21:46Speaker 3: whenever we played them, you know, you got to have
- 21:47Speaker 3: your your brother's back. Yeah, and so we were trying
- 21:50Speaker 3: to We're definitely trying to do some things to them.
- 21:53Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. We got we got our
- 21:55Speaker 3: boys back. Now.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Right, out of all the quarterbacks, who's the hardest to sack?
- 21:59Speaker 2: You can't say Ben Roethlisberger because you shocked him seventeen times.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Who's the hardest? Vic Michael Vick Like, yeah, Michael Vick,
- 22:07Speaker 3: because you had you had Atlanta Mike too. I had
- 22:09Speaker 3: Atlanta Mike. I had Atlanta Mike. So Michael Vick was
- 22:12Speaker 3: very difficult for the simple fact that he loved to
- 22:15Speaker 3: play backyard football. Like he can send to you and
- 22:19Speaker 3: he's like oh, and it's like excuse me. And it's
- 22:22Speaker 3: like people don't understand, Like like Vic got kind of
- 22:26Speaker 3: like vilified for the way he played. They you know,
- 22:28Speaker 3: off itsive coordinator. They he's supposed to be a pocket quarterback.
- 22:31Speaker 3: I want him to let the play developed. I'm like, Doug,
- 22:34Speaker 3: you got a quarterback that can get you in the
- 22:36Speaker 3: team out of trouble.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Rights.
- 22:37Speaker 3: That's and now they're seeing it now now it's like
- 22:39Speaker 3: he was the glimpse of evolution. Yes, yes, absolutely. It
- 22:42Speaker 3: started with you know, they would say Randall cutting him.
- 22:44Speaker 3: You know, he was a very fast, you know, uh
- 22:47Speaker 3: it lousive quarterback. But Michael Vick is it, you know,
- 22:49Speaker 3: with the proper type.
- 22:50Speaker 2: They did say that about Doug Flutie, like yeah, you
- 22:53Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, or Steve Young stiling for his life.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what I'm saying. And they was like, oh,
- 22:59Speaker 3: he's he's a scrambled, a good athlete, but they were
- 23:01Speaker 3: Michael Vick was doing it. It was like, oh, he's
- 23:04Speaker 3: like you don't let the play develop long enough. I'm like, no,
- 23:06Speaker 3: that boy out there dangerous. That boy out there danger
- 23:09Speaker 3: He won like a whole playoff game by himself. Yeah,
- 23:12Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. Unfortunately, it was the Vikings.
- 23:14Speaker 3: You know, we all saw that, and he went up
- 23:16Speaker 3: there and be who was it was? It was it
- 23:19Speaker 3: Philly when they was like the top dog. I think
- 23:22Speaker 3: it was like victim.
- 23:23Speaker 1: There was a time when it was him, Algie Crumpler,
- 23:26Speaker 1: I think Mike.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Turner, Michael burn and Turner. Yeah, that team was dangerous.
- 23:30Speaker 3: They had rowdy white Yeah yeah, yeah, crazy rowdy. They
- 23:36Speaker 3: had rowdy and I think I don't think. I don't
- 23:39Speaker 3: think who.
- 23:41Speaker 1: This is? This is this younger, Yeah, this is younger. Yeah,
- 23:43Speaker 1: but yeah, they was dope.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Now it was going absolutely fed. All right, who's the quarterback?
- 23:48Speaker 2: You wish you would have gotten?
- 23:50Speaker 3: Who's the quarterback? I wish I would have got.
- 23:52Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I don't think I ever. There wasn't one that I
- 23:57Speaker 3: didn't that I didn't get, Like, I think I got
- 23:59Speaker 3: them all.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I didn't get Peyton.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I never got no. I played like when I first
- 24:04Speaker 2: got in when it was at Indian Napolis. I think
- 24:06Speaker 2: it was his last year. He had the neck injury,
- 24:08Speaker 2: so it was like Carpenter or whoever took over for
- 24:11Speaker 2: And then I saw him in Denver and they had
- 24:13Speaker 2: me playing like.
- 24:13Speaker 1: The nose technique and there was no shot, bro.
- 24:17Speaker 2: We were playing this this automatic front where I was
- 24:19Speaker 2: like playing a three technique but I have to slide
- 24:20Speaker 2: to a nose. I think it was like last like
- 24:23Speaker 2: mcgahee's like greatest game as a dinner Bronc.
- 24:25Speaker 1: They were for like two something. I remember.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I was like, I remember looking at Cedric Ellis our
- 24:29Speaker 2: detail all the time. I was like, said, don't let
- 24:31Speaker 2: me switch to the nose. He's like, play your position, bro,
- 24:34Speaker 2: And I never.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Forget him that. I was like, Bro, you can't. I
- 24:36Speaker 1: was two hundred and eighty pounds. I'm not meant to
- 24:38Speaker 1: slide to a nose.
- 24:40Speaker 3: And this was when they were still in too times.
- 24:43Speaker 2: They played real running running exactly that power double T.
- 24:48Speaker 2: It was I'm looking I'm looking at him like help me,
- 24:51Speaker 2: and he's like he's like this, play your spot, bro,
- 24:56Speaker 2: play your spot. Bro, He's like and not even know.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I'm sorry. He's like, you just got to do it.
- 25:01Speaker 3: He's so out, he sold you out, Like this is
- 25:03Speaker 3: not winning.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I'm a four eye, I'm a five, I'm a six,
- 25:06Speaker 1: I'm seven. I'm not a three.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Not down there. Yeah, you're like you you're a big nose.
- 25:13Speaker 3: You go get one, you go get one. You get
- 25:15Speaker 3: somebody to do that. Don't be doing it. You know
- 25:17Speaker 3: what I'm saying. I'm on this edge, man, life is good.
- 25:21Speaker 3: I was like, I'm trying to be an edge. Yeah,
- 25:24Speaker 3: I'm trying to be They want me at a four eye.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I'm a proved that I'm edged. Like I said, it's
- 25:28Speaker 3: noisy in there, man, it's noisy down there.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Would you last, what would you consider yourself more of
- 25:34Speaker 2: a defensive end or outside linebacker?
- 25:36Speaker 3: I consider myself more defensive end. Okay, you know what
- 25:38Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 25:39Speaker 2: So you had a lot of drops in.
- 25:40Speaker 3: There, Yeah, I considered myself a defense in but like
- 25:43Speaker 3: you know, we played three four Yeah you're yeah, so
- 25:48Speaker 3: it was pretty much like drops and all that like
- 25:50Speaker 3: mixed in. But I consent myself.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's right.
- 25:53Speaker 2: That's why I throw the divide him like I'm like,
- 25:55Speaker 2: if you're a four eye to a seven defensive end
- 25:58Speaker 2: like you if you were if you are.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Seven to a nine yeah, like olb yeah you straight
- 26:03Speaker 3: up off outside linebacker.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah okay yeah. I was like, you know, back back then,
- 26:08Speaker 2: it's like, oh he's dropping. I was like, I don't
- 26:09Speaker 2: know why they got him dropping. Yeah, it's just kind
- 26:12Speaker 2: of just to switch it up. Yeah, so you know,
- 26:14Speaker 2: they never know what the back don't know he's always coming.
- 26:17Speaker 2: He's always dripping it just to kind of throw it off.
- 26:19Speaker 2: You know, they all think they genius is offensive coordinator
- 26:22Speaker 2: or whatever. I was like, de coordinator always want to
- 26:24Speaker 2: be like, hey, gets you in the position. Best position
- 26:26Speaker 2: is dropping to a hook so flat.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Yeah quarter flat man, I don't even know what that is.
- 26:33Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 26:35Speaker 2: You figure that out?
- 26:36Speaker 1: Like all right? Cool? Like I guess I guess it
- 26:38Speaker 1: throws out Like they don't know where I'm at.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Just talk about longevity because now I'm thirty six, you know,
- 26:44Speaker 2: thirty thirty five, thirty six.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Nice.
- 26:48Speaker 1: They look at you like you old. I'm like, bro,
- 26:49Speaker 1: I'm going I'm leaning the driver.
- 26:51Speaker 3: I feel good to be that young.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Trust me, you took pride.
- 26:56Speaker 2: In being downin late to your career where you know,
- 26:59Speaker 2: seventeen eight, seventeen seasons, and of course we talked about
- 27:01Speaker 2: the two Achille tears one, twenty twelve, twenty sixteen, you know,
- 27:05Speaker 2: twenty fifteen.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Come back to twenty sixteen.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Have you know eight sacks at thirty five you had
- 27:10Speaker 2: eleven sacks, thirty six seven sacks? You know you finished
- 27:13Speaker 2: You finished the last season with six and a half,
- 27:15Speaker 2: you know at thirty seven?
- 27:17Speaker 1: Lower Yeah, put it bad back, put it bad back.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, nothing's clean.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Nothing's clean.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I'll say, how'd you do it for thirty six and
- 27:25Speaker 1: thirty seven? Bro oh man?
- 27:27Speaker 3: Like you really have to. You really got to take
- 27:30Speaker 3: control of your diet, like you just can't eat anything anymore.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Those days, I'm saying, those days are over, you know
- 27:35Speaker 3: what I mean. It's really you have to be on
- 27:37Speaker 3: a real strict diet and cut out like sugar man.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Like I was like on a strik water diet. Like
- 27:44Speaker 3: my last two years was like I didn't drink no sodas,
- 27:47Speaker 3: no juice. It was just like water, you know what
- 27:50Speaker 3: I'm saying, Just so I could recover fast, you know,
- 27:53Speaker 3: I mean, you know you'll have your muscles hydrated and
- 27:55Speaker 3: all that. So I got on a real streak like
- 27:58Speaker 3: water diet and I cut out me. So I think
- 28:00Speaker 3: that helped waste you pescatarian I went. I tried to
- 28:04Speaker 3: go vegan, but I wasn't giving up cheese. I was like, nah,
- 28:08Speaker 3: I was like, I'm gonna give up meat. I ain't
- 28:09Speaker 3: giving up cheese, so and they was like and then
- 28:13Speaker 3: I still needed protein. So I had to get back
- 28:16Speaker 3: into eating like shrimps and lobsters and stuff like that.
- 28:19Speaker 3: But it was like, I don't eat. I gave up
- 28:22Speaker 3: meat like my last two years. So that helped commit.
- 28:26Speaker 6: Man.
- 28:26Speaker 3: That help.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I could almost give up a red meat situation. But
- 28:30Speaker 1: the way Lamb calls.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Me man, that stuff is nice. Especially you know, we
- 28:35Speaker 3: got a football game in Madrid. I had some Lamb
- 28:37Speaker 3: out there and I was like, oh, choy man at night,
- 28:40Speaker 3: just cut right through it. It was nice and lean,
- 28:43Speaker 3: it was. It was great, you know Lamb chops especially
- 28:45Speaker 3: at like Mastros, you know what I'm saying or something.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Mass shirt that's the one in Scott's Deale strictly there.
- 28:53Speaker 1: But we need to get to dessert.
- 28:55Speaker 3: The butter case. I forgot about that. I ain't had
- 28:58Speaker 3: that in like a year or years. I gotta go
- 29:00Speaker 3: probably No, no, you don't. I'll be the big bat
- 29:03Speaker 3: boat then. Yeah, Buttercake, I forgot all about it. I
- 29:09Speaker 3: forgot all about I'll.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Never do because I dream. I dream of off season
