- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Any way you want it, that's the way you need it.
- 0:04SPEAKER_02: Any way you want it.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: Morning.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Good morning, Joel.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: Hello.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: You can have it any way you want this morning today.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: That's this is life for you, Sebastian.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: I can choose.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: You can choose.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: You can actually choose in this life, yeah.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: I go I straight go back to bed.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: I mean it is quite early on a Friday morning, so I'm not surprised there.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: And we've had quite a busy week, I would say.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Well, first of all, welcome to Unresolved Dependencies, where we try to resolve our dependencies.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: But let's see.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, it's quite early.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Um, I mean, that's yeah, eight o'clock is not my time.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: All of my software is still in night shift.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: No, so I on Mac, I don't know if you can do it in Windows.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: I I literally sure you can do, but on Mac you can just set up the theme if it's dark or light theme based on uh the timing and when the sun rises and the sun goes down and stuff like that.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: So for me, it's a good indicator when everything turns into dark mode.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: I should collect my laptop and uh enjoy my evening.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: But right now it's so early that everything is still in dark mode.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: So this is one of these humble complaints, you know.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: There's one of these humble complaints, you know.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh look, I've got this nice, expensive MacBook.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: Oh, it it's not light enough yet for me to start my day.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: It's just like okay, yeah.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's um it's a mental health um thing, I guess.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, we had a busy week.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: We had a very busy week, yeah.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: So um before we get into that though, we need to obviously do the usual usual stuff.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: This the features that we just keep on pushing, even though there's clearly uh no demand or interest in it whatsoever.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: It's Joe's travel.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Of course, there is there is so much.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, they I get so many requests on social media, LinkedIn, my LinkedIn inbox is full, which is not even a lie.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: It's and then you woke up, and then you woke up, yeah.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: No, it's like my LinkedIn inbox.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: There is so many people talking to themselves about um finding me a new job, which I'm definitely interested in.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: But exactly, yeah, that's the only message you're receiving.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: So for those who were playing the game last time, uh remember you can get involved at any particular point, hello at unresolved dependencies.com or contact us on the socials.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: So the answer to the previous uh clue was Nashville.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: I was in Nashville for the NA Summit event.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Um music type thing of kind here.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so uh very good, interesting sort of events, uh quite bigger on scale compared to some of the previous years.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: Uh, had some good conversations there with uh multitude of community members, uh, other partners, and so on and so forth.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: So very nice, would recommend that you go there.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: So that was the last clue.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: Uh, our next clue uh where Joe is going to be next.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: So I'm going to be in a place uh where the English translation of the place name means the meadows, uh, and where there is very close nearby uh a dam uh which is named after a one-term president.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: Where am I going next?
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: Let us know.
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: Hello, unresolved dependencies.com or on the social medias.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: We'd love to hear from you.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: A dam, like the thing that saves and stores water.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: You've uh you clearly were paying attention during um elementary uh geography lessons at school, clearly.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: I can give a hint for your riddle this week because I once flew over this dam with a helicopter, which is very entitled.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Like when I like just re-heard the story.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're just basically just queuing it all up to say, okay, I've I've got a MacBook that tells me to go to sleep.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: I fly over dams, you know.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: Do you just want to just want to just add anything else to do?
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, very relatable podcast.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: We're just doing that for the one percent.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: This is all we care about.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: You know what the 99% care about though, Sebastian.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: What you've been eating.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: I want to know what you've been eating.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: Anything interesting.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: They want to know what I've been eating.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Um, I have I literally have multiple things because yesterday we were still together and we had some nice we were skeptical.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Yes, we were together at uh at the restaurant, and we had uh the obligatory schnitzel and golden blue.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: But um, I think I may want to more talk about the evening before, where um one car drove to our destination, landed there on time for everything what we agreed on, was about to had uh well-prepared dinner at the local restaurant, while the other car where Joseph was part of it, were running late and they couldn't make it until there was no dinner served.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: I was hungry, I was hangry to be honest, because I was working since the lunch on a presentation for I can tease that next week, and then I get a WhatsApp message if I can just accept their Uber Eats ordering and just ditch my my lovely steak.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: So I will I will talk about the steak now because I had the steak and still got your Uber reserve Uber delivery and the in my defense, I wasn't driving the vehicle.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: I had no control over its trajectory, and we it was uh we had to stop for charging at some point as well.
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: So I thought we were gonna arrive much sort of sooner.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: So uh the good thing I know is that Sebastian's got such a kind heart, kind soul, is that he always looks out for his colleagues and his friends that he would happily step out of his dinner to collect uh um um uh a nice uh meal that I'd order for me and my colleagues to make sure that we were well fed for the evening.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: So and you know what is the great part?
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Not even that I'm not eating anything from your dish or from your pizza, I also did not receive an offering to eat something from your pizza.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: I mean, it wasn't the best pizza, so maybe I've done you a bit of a service there.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: Anyway, you just you just had a steak, man.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: I had steak, so literally I had say to be fair, I had maybe one and a half steaks or maybe like roughly two steaks.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: Oh you did, oh I remember that, yeah.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: You did, didn't you?
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, because uh yeah, this is this is our our gimmick with with our boss, um, because he he likes to eat steak basically, but he is not fancy finishing it because he does not want to gain more weight, or I don't know, or it's like too much done for him, or it's just his sabotage.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: There is a reason, so he does not want to finish the whole thing.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: Um, and then he just basically pushes the half to me when he's done with his side.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: So free half stake for me.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: That's just nice.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: Everyone's depending on you for different reasons, you know.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: It's it's it's it's it's it's it's a testament to your character, you know.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: I made myself I made myself um indispensable, indispensable in this company.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: It's all good.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: Um, we need to we so we need to talk about why we were together and where we were actually why is a good question.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: Why is it good?
- 7:43SPEAKER_02: Why is always a good question, you know?
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Why are we doing these sort of things?
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: So we were in, and this is where I am still at the moment this morning before I um head off.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: Uh, the very charming and lovely city of Cologne or Cologne uh in Germany.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: Um uh and we were here yesterday for the um what it was called the AI Tour event, uh, but actually now it's the Frontier Tour.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: I wonder what it's called next week then.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: So let's see.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, last week it was still called AI Tour.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: This week it is now the Frontier Tour.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: So they they quickly changed all the branding overnight and uh renamed it.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: Um multiple different reasons.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: I have rumors about it, I have no official confirmation.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: I have my own theory.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: Um and uh yeah, but yeah, we all started together in Cologne for Frontier Tour.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: How was it?
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: It was your first tour this year, right?
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, unfortunately, I was supposed to go to the AI tour last year or was it earlier this year in London, but um I completely threw my back out, which was uh disappointing.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, my first um my first sort of um uh tour event, let's just call it tour event to make it a bit sort of easier.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: So kind of just Microsoft kind of getting on the road uh and really just making sure that in each of the major sort of regions um and countries that there is good content, good representation, um, good opportunity for local partners to kind of get involved.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Uh so our company was sponsoring uh as an example.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: Um, Sebastian, I think you've been to uh obviously we were in Singapore last week uh for the iteration over there.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: Um and really it's just you know uh a good way in which to sort of meet and greet.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: And what was in what was good about I thought the uh frontier event here in in Germany is that it gives a good opportunity for discussions in German, you know.
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: So rather than having to be forced to come to these events and speaking English, which you know may may cause you some anguish or sort of uh restraint, you can have the good conversations, local conversations in German.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, wow, what you so you basically flew in to practice your your German on site?
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: Well, and also to support it.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: So I was in Germany anyway, so I thought I'd uh I'd come and support the event.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: I was kind of curious as well.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: Um the very invited origin to just show that.
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: I just I forced myself on, yeah, yeah.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: It's just my um it's my uh pro my privilege, invoke my privileges, shall we say?
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: Um to leave pegging the card or sits there.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: I'm going with you.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: Can I come to um if you if if you get that reference, if you get that reference, do please uh message me on that one.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: Uh uh that's quite an obscure good reference there.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: Um so yeah, so Sashi was there.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: Uh I think he had basically flown straight from London.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: Um, so gave a good keynote there, talking about uh a lot of the investments that are happening at the moment from a sort of work IQ standpoint, how we're moving to kind of a new phase, uh, and also as well the conversation.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: And this is also something I believe he talked about quite a bit in Paris as well, around data sovereignty uh and the key investments that Microsoft is kind of making there to ensure that, yeah, okay, we are ultimately we're able to host data within our local region, we're able to have full control over all of this sort of stuff.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: Um, so I think quite good to see uh Microsoft, I guess, talking a lot about that sort of stuff.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: Uh the proof will always be in the pudding, as they sort of say.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: Um, but I think it does hopefully chime quite well um you know from a message standpoint uh in that regard.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: What were your impressions from the keynote, Sebastian?
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've first of all it was of course it was something that um I think as well um get some attraction that um Mr.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: Mr.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Satyanadella was there.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: Um he kind of did an e uh Europe tour with Paris, London, and now Cologne, the big major cities in in Europe.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: So of course it's not in Berlin, it's in Cologne.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Um and I think with all the capabilities that have been changed, there's so much new stuff which is done, which we as well talk about not only in this podcast, but also internally and as well between us, that it is so tough to keep up because in all of the different areas there's always something new.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: And if you then later come to new things in Copilot Studio, there's plenty of new stuff, there's plenty of new stuff in M365 Copilot, and there is no the new home experience, uh, where then as well do you have um the code addition to it and you have RE2 pilots, while other companies, because that's as well then our reason to be there, talk to these customers, they're like starting with AI now, and and their I would say their um impression or the imagination of what they can do with it is still very early in the process, and of course, this needs to grow, you need to learn about it, you need to get familiar with that, you need to build trust.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: Um, but in the same discussion, there is a lot of focus on governance, and I think this was also handled in the in the keynote.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: Um, so um I think overall um it's a good event to as a customer, especially, or as a partner as well, as a partner, first of all, get visibility, get like up to the interests of the potential customers, and for them who wants to um do something with Microsoft Stack, co-pilot AI, it's a good thing just to see what is going on in this bubble uh and get like a latest uh point of view.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: But I can also say for multiple discussions I had, if you're not in this topic already, or you not have any technical background, it can be a lot.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: It can be a lot.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: I heard this uh from time to time in our um discussions that people were overwhelmed by all of the different inputs, what you can do and what you should do, and what of options you have now.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: So just from like an app creation point of view, there is so much what you can do, but still there's so many gaps on on their side where they have their pain and they have their homework to do on the customer side that they may not really can pink into this like new direction.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: This is why I quite liked uh shout out here uh to uh Donna Sarka's session.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: Uh so Donna, uh Donna is worse than me, I think, in terms of traveling for these events sometimes, perhaps.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: But uh, yeah, she gave a very great uh breakout session towards the close of the day, kind of just really just talking about uh providing a kind of a common sense sort of approach in terms of you know um you know the frustrations that we're seeing in terms of okay, yeah, another tool, uh, vibe coding, all this sort of stuff.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: So she she gave a good session there, showing the art of the possible there with uh some of the new Copilot Studio capabilities, Agent 365, and kind of just really what I liked about the session was that yeah, it just was very plain, tried to cut through a lot of the kind of the different options and just make a very clear cut, sort of right, this is where you should go, this is what you should do.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: And I think that kind of clarity um certainly um I think is very well appreciated.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: Um and the turnout for the event was pretty crazy as well.
- 15:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, it felt very I was at that conference center earlier this year for uh European collaboration summit, and it felt like that the the magnitude in terms of the sheer volume of people walking through the expo hall with the different sessions in the keynote.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: The keynote was completely full in the end.
- 15:26SPEAKER_02: I think they had to do uh breakouts and stuff like that.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: So good turnout from our dear German friends, which is very nice to see.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Very nice, very nice, very cool.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Your Germans can do something good.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Nice, nice learning.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: Okay, moving swiftly on.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Moving on.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah, and and and I don't so why I'm tired.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: Um, I then got back in the evening after our lovely, quick dinner.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: I got back by train from Cologne and then arrived home at like I think past midnight, because I had to pick up the dogs from the grandparents.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, lovely, lovely.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: But yeah, that's why I'm a bit tired.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: Um, so what's next?
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: What's next?
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: What is what is uh up?
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: So you know it's end of October, Halloween is around the corner.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: I think and I've I I've got and I've got a feeling that there's gonna be uh a lot of new stuff, power platform stuff to talk about within the next few days.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: And I wonder why that could be.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: So what I'm doing, um I'm traveling to Las Vegas for not my gambling addiction.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Oh okay.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: It's it's not that point, no, not this time.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: No, it's it's in and out addiction.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: That's all right.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: It's an in and out.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: That is I thought about this multiple times yesterday.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Too often to to to think about that, it's like this is this is healthy.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I I was literally going down the escalator in the conference, but I was like, next week, this time, I already was at In N Out Burger.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: You know, it's got it's got to it's got to such a bad, but it's got but it's got to such a bad state between us because we are choosing and out fans.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: We're I'm literally sending him reels now of like it's it's almost like borderline sort of seductive reels of people peeling back the wrapper of an in-and-out burger and then zooming in on the camera and doing that sort of like that look on people's faces.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: So this is an unhealthy obsession at this point, I feel it is, it is.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, but we will travel not to so you will travel to an outburger, sure, um, multiple times during the week.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Um, if you want to join us, feel free.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Um but we are um at the Power Platform Community Conference, in short, PPCC.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: And um, so you will travel there today, tomorrow, so when we record this, I will be there, yeah.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: So I'm looking forward to I'm gonna be helping out uh Dion uh Taylor and uh Daniel Warner in their workshop on Sunday or around Copilot Studio.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: So uh hopefully maybe see maybe some listeners there.
- 18:14SPEAKER_02: Uh looking forward to that.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: And then, yeah, pretty full week ahead.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: Uh I've um managed to squeeze my way onto a couple of sessions on the conference.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: Uh and you may also as well see me hanging around with the community manage as well, which would be quite good.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: I think as well, Sebastian, you've got a session.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, I I'm I'm the sidekick of one of the sessions.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm doing the demo in one of the Roku Q sessions, which is on Thursday.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: We will post more details, I think, on the social media and as well the um in the show notes of this podcast because when you listen that the PowerPoint conference is already in full swing.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: Um this are this one releases Monday and Tuesday.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: There's the keynote, and all the sessions are.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Um, and on Wednesday, actually, we do a live recording of these podcasts.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: I I think we will do it as a special episode, which then as well releases potentially later in the same week.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: We need to see how full the schedule is that um and then how the setup is because it will be all live.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: It will be basically there will be a podcast booth, and I think um if you're stopping by, um you can as well get some headphones and listen to it and see how it really looks like when we do see the high quality production values of this of this podcast show.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I mean uh they um so to in all transparency, um I don't think that Joya has like a real microphone.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: I mean he bought something new because the one of his headset is broken.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Um and I have a semi okay uh uh microphone, and we basically recording this and then basically stripping out the um we're recording this with video and then stripping out the um the audio and everything else in the post-production basically.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: And the list of available tools I got from um Vandana from um the Microsoft team.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: This is a page of tools that are available from uh erode coastcaster pros to pot mics to um specific stereo headphone amplifiers, all of that crazy thing we don't have.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: So that will be and I and I'm just gonna turn and I'm just gonna turn up okay.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: I've got I've got my microphone, I've got my headset of my busted microphones.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: This is another reason to maybe watch the video of the podcast.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: So I'm having to do this so that obviously there's no feedback from the sound when we're recording this, and then I've also got this little thank god I've got this little DGI little mic over here, which I've had to hook up to my laptop.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so this is just yeah, this is just a shambles, basically.
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna walk in, they're gonna look at us and go, hang on, are you two really are you two really well we're expecting some like some professionals here?
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: Get out, you're not allowed in.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that will be fun.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: Um, I actually owe you to we also did to see like if we um can play our opening chingle live because like to be in all transparency again, just happens like in the post here, because then I just cut it out, throw it in, and then make it that it feels like a bit natural in in terms of the starting.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: So I have to as well bring this.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: I should not forget my my hard drive because this there's like everything on that for this podcast.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: If this hard drive dies or I lose it, I think the podcast is done.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: Um but we'll as you say, we'll have a chat.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: It'll it'll either be uh maybe a special edition or we'll try and do maybe a slightly longer, um, longer sort of uh edition of this, um uh so that we can try and squeeze in uh as much.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: details as possible, all the news, all the announcements, and all this other good stuff.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: Uh basically just uh just just to make you feel as you know as much firm as possible, really, you know?
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: And if you're not there, it's basically as well a good point to then catch up with everything that happens there.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: And then as Joe mentioned, feel the FOMO firsthand.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: That's I think um a spoiler by V1 or spread.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: So yeah, looking forward to it.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: So a little little demo session.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: I uh just recorded parts of the demo uh which are not live because uh apparently my GitHub agent needed like two hours to complete the task.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: So I had to trim this down a little bit surprisingly um but then the rest of them will be live rebuilding an agent um that works with work IQ with the additional work IQ which or a new work IQ that also um gets data from um your dataverse and your dynamics which is great um nice addition to that and yeah I'm looking forward to this and talking there a bit more about the deaf perspective and how developers and citizen developers or makers um fibers as well can we can we say yeah I'm still not liking the term to be honest so I'm not saying unfortunately yeah I think so but yeah how they work better together basically work IQ how both can benefit um so this will be part of our session which will be on Thursday yeah and I will be also at the community lounge I think it is or community booth um on Wednesday then Wednesday afternoon um so I think I will do there's a like ask ask a pro thing which I heavily refuse to be called a professional um but I've I've got all your headshots I've got your headshots I've got your headshots printed out here by the way so that yeah obviously you can do your signatures and live signings.
- 24:06SPEAKER_02: Okay cool yeah if you want to have your hairy chests signed bring a pencil um I'm there for everyone so use me imagine I'm your can you imagine can you imagine but can you imagine because I've seen this where like uh people have got like tattoos of stars that they like really admire and they go to obviously go to a signing uh meet and greet and obviously then show the tattoo what like what if somebody actually did that came to you and then just like rolled up the sleeve and there's just like a massive tattoo of you there how would you react so first of all you shouldn't I'm I'm just a normal guy I'm just a guy I'm just a guy just I'm just a guy let's say no I would not be able to comprehend that um yeah so no uh don't do that so please don't there would be also no meet and greet basically i i'm like I'm just staffed at the community booth for helping out community members with like their questions in cool poly studio so if you do have a problem on Cool Palace Studio I'm there to help you um but like sorry is a billion other fantastic MVPs and volunteers there which are um doing their community service and and giving back which was this is what we love this is what we're doing this is why we do all of that um sorry i'm i i'm the least special guy at this event i mean there is pitbull you should get a tattoo of pitbull maybe um which will be fun yeah we need bold guy and you need to explain why it's not chef bezos yeah we need to get our bald caps don't we apparently all the pitbull fans wear bald caps maybe I'll just shave my hair off maybe I'm not commenting on that because I I recommended this years ago yeah I need to check with my girlfriend um she she was at a pitbull concert like half a year ago or something and she's mad jealous that um we can see him basically next week those those were literally her words Sebastian I am mad jealous she was screaming at me literally so you go um because I I told her like I don't know three months ago or so that there will be pit bull at this Microsoft conference where I'm going to in Las Vegas and she was like yeah of course yeah whatever nerd yeah whatever yeah pit bull mr worldwide the millennial superstar will be at your small uninteresting nerdy microsoft conference what the no and then I was like yeah okay whatever and um just like three weeks ago then I I was just scrolling the website because I was looking at um the session catalog and I was and it was on the website and I thought here you see put the phone into her noise and say here there's pitbull you see and she was like reading through that on the website and she said what the hell this can't be like no that was fun yeah so yeah um I already have the request to to five time her on whenever the um he comes on the stage and performs so yeah I did quite enjoy the Christine Aguilera set last year that was quite good so um had to be reminded yesterday I actually know more pit bull songs than I than I than I thought I did I just I just I know the songs if I hear the songs I'll be like oh yeah I know if you if you hear the song you know it it's I think that's that's the the magic that it's I think the same with Katy Perry I think so you you you're not actively hearing or knowing the song but when it comes on you're screaming it full on outside you you're you're screaming California girls for the best of them yes absolutely but yeah a bit jealous on the Christina Aguilera part because kind of childhood crush but okay missed that last year it's okay yeah yeah of pitbull maybe should come back maybe uh depends what happens last year I don't know yet all right so there will be a ton of new announcements um at the PPCC it's only screwing up this appreciation um it's power platform community conference I sometimes call it power platform conference because I just ditched the community um but there were so you could so you could probably go in today like take a screenshot of let's say all the interfaces and then compare to next week because the end yes so they'll sneak out so take your time when you listen to this today go to your system just embrace the look of copilot studio embrace the look of co-pilot it will all change next week because there were so many new announcements and in fact there were already have been new announcements in the past days which we want to just quickly wrap up and then um I think um get Joe up to date basically what happened.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: So I one of the things which I like to talk about and I hopefully as well have the chance to talk about in some more detail at some conference soon um is managed apps.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: So the creation of managed apps so far was only there in Copol Cowork and as well in the um CLI um via for example the managed runtime um which then as well can hoist for example third party developed apps like in lovable um from lovable in the Microsoft Excel just to get it right.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: And now you can as well create um managed apps for Copali Studio.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: So Copoly Studio now has capabilities to create agents workflows and managed apps.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: So three features and the same tool or what same interface um so what was earlier the the maker portal becomes more and more an AI first portal with the Copolis Studio do you think they will rename that at some point to just like ai.microsoft.com or something it's too easy right to Copolistudio something like that.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: Let's see um but yeah you can now create manage apps directly from Copolis Studio um I think this was announced with as well the general announcement but it was kind of further delayed till just then last week where it shipped out um the interesting part which I want to highlight is not not the creation of manage app we talked about this there will be plenty plenty plenty of content about it because I think it's it's kind of the new kit on the block everyone hops on um and and tries to get their head around it and uh wants to make some use cases out of it which is totally fair I get this I'm doing the same thing.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: The interesting part here is the governance side a little bit that you can um turn off this interface.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: You can turn off literally in the Microsoft admin center where apps and then you go to overview and then you have the point of app creation paths and there you can turn off the Copilot Studio option.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: You cannot turn off the CLI or cowork option but you can turn off the Copile Studio option I would say that this is potentially of the exposure of Copol Studio that it's super easy even though you don't have direct access you can just pick up your deaf environment and um then go ahead and create a trial and just play around in Copile Studio.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: So I think this is kind of a safe mechanism to not burn incredibly much of um compiler credits because here as well app creation um is consumption based so when you create the app it will cost compiler studio tokens.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: So is this the end of power apps then do you think I'm not sure I think with the broad audience of customers and clients across the ecosystem everything stays where it is I think it will um there will be no official deprecation of anything in that terms of direction for the next 10 years or so um so I can't believe that this is something that will they will want to force to change there will be definitely some I would say there will be more investments into these AI first capabilities than there will be on the platform.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: But on the office side we also see some core features and now shipping as well and as well as some changes in how the platform acts so one of the latest changes for example was deprecation of the Dataverse for for Teams environments so to to free up that space moving that into regular Dataverse environment and in the same announcement more or less there it was also an announced that you uh that it's deprecated to use unmanaged personal developer environments.
- 33:03SPEAKER_01: So it always needs to be a managed environment which at the same time enforces licensing and as well that was well for me most is that it's limiting um your personal developer environments to one per person.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: So far I mean that I mean that's pretty big because you know that that's it's often been quite quite a big sort of um you know um what would you call it like a sweetener to get you started in the platform the ability okay free absolutely free get started with developer plan environments bang but now yeah you've now got that licensing threshold there which yes and and as well the consumption there which you do with for example copilot copilot studio in terms of the GitHub copilot harness app creation all of that that will as well then um consume copilot studio uh tokens or credits co-palot co-pilot credits copilot sorry it will consume copilot credits and and that's also a change that just yeah slowly happens I think that the the pay to create story becomes real on the power platform so far it was free to create things or free to develop um while it now moves more to a um pay to create and you need to as well for example have an eye on that when you for example doing PUC or you do development for a customer that it will consume costs when still when you're in deaf environment and it also changes all around consumption isn't it it's just okay um it's it's good if maybe okay you're not maybe fully using things you just want to test some stuff you're not gonna get the full have to have a full upfront commit like you know seven pounds per user per month whatever it is but it does mean that yeah you're gonna have to you're gonna have to be able to budget for those spikes a lot more proactively now absolutely yeah and and you also need to maybe rethink a little bit the application lifecycle management story because so so far the environment driven story so when you work with environment first the the goal was potentially to um that every developer has multiple depth environments where they can make customizations that was also the um the story Microsoft was pushing so um you have up to three environments you can just spin it up um make a customization test your development um push your first version to it um do some on-site unit testing there and then move it to maybe a joint deaf environment where all of the other people from the team also committing their changes to um build one solution that then goes to DQA and uh production environment this was kind of peak environment first application lifecycle management story which is now gaining obsolete because you only have one def environment so I think that will um force a little bit as well a code first application lifecycle management story um which is funny enough because I'm working on that yeah well I mean I mean for us on the dynamics side it you know having that nice ALM sort of story end to end in Volvo develop environments has always been impossible because of the limitations two gigabyte per dataverse environment you were never able to install any dynamics app in there so we're not really losing much if you're just purely working from a dynamics 365 sort of standpoint but yeah those kind of fancier fancier workflows you know the concept of you know really it's just you know we're moving and we talked about this yesterday we're moving to a point okay where where data data sources dataverse things like fabric becoming more important how you then actually consume the data is immaterial because it's going to be a case that these Asians can just straight away right bang here you go build your interface in seconds and present it to you absolutely yeah yeah so a very interesting changes um I have one more if you like to watch I I'm always ready for one more from you Sebastian always one more thing yeah um so basically there are these are three new features which are coming to or currently rolling out to Copala Studio one of them we're getting triggers back which is a bit weird in get to Copile harness yes in the um URS so very nice yeah because then we can have autonomous agents yeah that'd be great you could have could have done before because you could have just have a workflow that was a trigger and that workflow could have just uh called the agent um which was nice because you could just do some categorization before that and then go into different task streams or connect maybe certain automations with your agent but now the whole initial trigger experience comes back um so you can just for example schedule something or when an email arrives or something happens in your database environment you can just pull off and start your autonomous agent and from there that's one thing.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: Second thing there is some changes to the memory feature which was uh or is still I think in preview and um so the the main I think the main improvement here for right now is that you have business process memory so it is more like a shared memory so far if um there was a memory stored inside the or in the context of the agent um it was only personal so also from a maker perspective admin perspective um when Jerry says please remember that I'm Joey and I don't want to have meetings after 4 p.m because I like to sleep um after this time and catch up on my um Netflix series I could as an admin not access this memory I could not access the details here um which was which is sometimes which is great from privacy perspective but in terms of potential support or as well debugging or um reproducing issues with the agent then maybe not so nice um to not have access to like all of the context why the agent acts in a certain way so what happens now is that their the business process memory is basically a shared memory for everyone who has access to so some you teaching that um the approach for triggers in Copy Studio now has changed and we use the triggers in the uh Kupai Studio not the workflows anymore and everyone can benefit from that who's using the agent and the third one is agent accounts so you can um create an agent identity um in your enter um which then as well gets you a your agent access to an email inbox which is um especially nice for use cases like travel cost for example where you just need to send in your your receipts and your details and it can directly then have access to that and and pull from there and it has a specific mailbox.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: But you can also then for example mention the agent directly in Team's chats add it there um add it into for example in your off in your work document when you want to review a certain paragraph or so and you have an agent to do that to research on that topic you can directly mention that and can kind of inbound that agent more and more into Team's Outlook and and office basically as an own identity.
- 40:43SPEAKER_01: So these are more and more new features into the GitHub harness that makes those agents more available across the the whole stack.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: And Power Platform conference hasn't even started yet and this is the stuff we're getting so I am I am excited to see what is going to be uh unleashed next week into the world and we try to cover everything then next week Wednesday live at the Power Platform Community Conference at the podcast booth I have no idea where it could be I think potentially somewhere close to community lounge so if you're around um it's around lunchtime I think like 12 or 1 pm we will throw in all of the details in the next days um try to be you should try to be more active on the socials um and then uh pull this out and share all the ideas so if you're around stop by even though uh just to say hello would be lovely and uh yeah then cover everything in the next special episode of unresolved dependencies wow can't wait i'm excited can't wait all right we are here till we resolve this between us so far I think we was okay right we saw each other a lot I mean we can I brought you we can have we can have we can have a meal together so I mean you bought me some good gummy bears yesterday he gives me he gives me little gifts sometimes it's uh it's quite weird I don't know I brought you I brought you lunch two days ago from yeah yeah from the type oh he did yes he yeah yeah he bought me he put he got me a soup mushroom soup yeah he he he's in this habit of like gift giving I'm just I'm um I'm not sure whether to be alarmed or suspicious but uh yeah it's the thought that counts so I think that's something you can just take with you to that multiple hour flight to the US over the big ocean and then bar as they say how do you pronounce it in German gummi bar or something gummi beer gummibärchen it's like it's like it's it's a small small beer so it's Bärchen it's small okay okay I will I will hold them close to me at 2000 feet close to your heart and think of you or your stomach whatever all right yeah see you in Las Vegas
