- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie. Happy Memorial Day. It is Memorial Day,
- 0:05Speaker 1: a day of remember. It's time for us to go
- 0:08Speaker 1: to God in prayer. Heavenly Father, we come before you
- 0:11Speaker 1: today with hearts bowed and spirits lifted in prayer for
- 0:15Speaker 1: the brave families of our military, those who carry the
- 0:20Speaker 1: weight of sacrifice and ways often unseen. Today. Lord, we
- 0:25Speaker 1: especially lift up those who have lost a son or daughter,
- 0:29Speaker 1: a husband or a wife, a mother, a father, or
- 0:33Speaker 1: beloved friend in the line of duty. Lord, you are
- 0:38Speaker 1: our refuge and strength of very present help in the
- 0:41Speaker 1: times of trouble, and so we turn to you on
- 0:45Speaker 1: behalf of these families, asking for comfort that only your
- 0:49Speaker 1: spirit can provide. Wrap them in your peace that surpasses
- 0:53Speaker 1: all understanding. In the quiet moments of their grief. Let
- 0:58Speaker 1: them hear the whist of your love, assuring them they
- 1:01Speaker 1: are not forgotten. In neither are the ones that they
- 1:05Speaker 1: grieve and mourn. Father, we thank you for the courage
- 1:09Speaker 1: of those who gave their lives in service to others.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Greater love has no one than this, That a man
- 1:16Speaker 1: laid down his life for friends. Their sacrifice echoes that
- 1:21Speaker 1: of Christ himself, who laid down his life to bring
- 1:25Speaker 1: salvation to the world. Let these families know that their
- 1:29Speaker 1: loved one's life was not lost in vain. Let their
- 1:32Speaker 1: legacy live on in the freedoms we enjoy, and in
- 1:35Speaker 1: the hearts of a grateful nation. For the spouses left behind, Lord,
- 1:42Speaker 1: give them strength and the long nights and the courage
- 1:46Speaker 1: for the days of head. Be their companion, be their provider,
- 1:49Speaker 1: Be their source of healing. For the children who grow
- 1:53Speaker 1: up without a parent, wrap them and your fatherly love
- 1:57Speaker 1: and raise up mentors, friends, and leaders who will walk
- 2:00Speaker 1: with them and their journey. For parents who have buried
- 2:04Speaker 1: a child, God, we ask for supernatural comfort. You too
- 2:10Speaker 1: know the pain of loss. Let your mercy be new
- 2:15Speaker 1: every morning. Let their faith not falter in the shadows. Lord,
- 2:20Speaker 1: bless all military families who stand as pillars of resilience
- 2:24Speaker 1: and grace. They sacrifice more than most will ever see.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So let our churches and our communities surround them with
- 2:33Speaker 1: support and gratitude. Help us be the hands and the
- 2:36Speaker 1: feet of Jesus walking beside them in their sorrow and
- 2:41Speaker 1: in their strength. And finally, Father, we pray for peace, lasting,
- 2:47Speaker 1: true peace, that one day swords will be turned into plowshares,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and nations will not learn war anymore. Until then, God
- 2:56Speaker 1: sustain our military families with your unshakable We ask all
- 3:01Speaker 1: of this in the name of Jesus, the Prince of
- 3:04Speaker 1: our Peace. Amen.
